    Please stay away from Vivint and don’t get trapped in a 5 years contract. No matter how you have been loyal to them with no missed or late payment, you will still be treated like trash when you get in a situation where you have to call the customer service line. Expect to stay at least 1 hour on the line, being transferred from 1 person to another and you are lucky if they don’t hang up on you. Rude people, disrespectful to customers. I totally understand those customers who just got the system installed and give good reviews; trust me I was there and did the same but wait until you start having technical issues and others... they won’t be there for you and you will come back here to review your “sad” experience with them. I regret ADT and I am right now shopping for a decent home security system company. I gave 1 star because there is no option for a ZERO star. You have been warned, STAY AWAY FROM VIVINT.

    I had Vivint in my old house and it used to be called Apex. My experience back then was not that great. When I tried to pull up the app, the technician told me what to do but when I did it, nothing happened. It didn't work. And then he said that I could just call Vivint's main number and they will help me out over the phone. But he should know about it since he's the technician. When I moved to a new house, I still got Vivint and everything has been great. I got the camera, the digital pad, and then the windows, the break glass and the motion sensors. The technician who came in told me exactly what I needed and he did a pretty good job.

    We got a window breakage, the doorbell camera and we got all the motion detectors from Vivint. We got it just about a year now. We did a phone interview with their sales rep. He just asked us what we needed and how everything worked out. And we told them we had a door at the downstairs basement and we had glass window. We had a couple of places where they could enter through the glass. When we told him what we had, he just started doing it and when the installer got there there were a couple others we had to add just because of where it is located.

    The sales rep was very, very knowledgeable. We told him this and he was, "Oh, okay. Oh, yeah." He says, "You better have a motion detector in there too." It was great until we told him that we were going pay for the system and we weren't going to do it over months because I don't know how to do that and never had that experience before. But everything was fine. It was just a learning curve for him because he had never done it before.

    They finance over a five year period of time. But they have zero interest too for the whole duration. We've had doorbell problems but they came right out and changed the doorbell and rewired it and hardwired the doorbell after a couple of days. They came here at 7:30 at night. Vivint's system had went down that day so they were running about three hours late. I'd recommend them. With Vivint I was sitting in North Carolina last weekend actually watching the traffic go by our house. And if someone comes up and rings the doorbell I can ask them what in the world they're doing.

    My parents have Vivint and I really like what they have. So I also got a service package from them and it includes the front door camera doorbell, the shatter alarm because I have a large window, window sensors, door sensors front and back, the Sky Control Panel, and one additional camera inside the home. I travel a lot and to be able to see what's happening in my home on camera and get that on the app is pretty awesome. Their equipment and software are also great and their emergency response time is wonderful. With Vivint, I also feel safer with my kids in the house. But when I needed customer service, it was not there. Everything I said to them was irrelevant and I had a problem every time I had to call them.

    We suffered a loss in our family then my husband was out of work and I had some problems with the contract and payment arrangements. I worked that out, but every time I called, Vivint's reps would say that they were making a note of it then I had to go through the whole rigmarole again. I also had to ask for a supervisor to call me back and getting to talk to a supervisor was a pain in the neck. And I never heard back from them. It was like they just let the ball drop every time I called them. I wanted to cancel because of that, but I’m in the contract.

    Then our finances went back on and I was making the payments. But the card that I used for my one-time payment for one month was stored, even though they told me and the cardholder, who is my sister, that it would not be a reoccurring charge. But her card was charged three times and it was negligence on the company's part. I've called Vivint about this issue three times and just the other day, I told them that even after I gave them my new account information, the payment still went through my sister's card. I told them to take my sister's card off their record and reverse the charges back into her account. I also had to reimburse her of an overdraft charge.

    System installed on 2/18. As of 3/3 it is not fully functional. I have spent several hours dealing with tech support and had multiple tech visits with no success. The last scheduled tech visit required me to take the day off from work; I received a text 30 min before my appointment time informing me of the cancellation of the service visit. I now have another onsite service scheduled. If this one doesn't fix the issue they can remove the system from my home.

    My friend is a Realtor and she said most of her homebuyers are installing Vivint, so it went from there. I'm pretty satisfied with the features included in our package. We have had a few little kinks, but it has been pretty okay. I called one of the techs and it got resolved over the phone. Last weekend, I was out of town and my thermostat was disconnected from the system and I needed to address it. I'm like, "Okay, I will when I get home." And then, when I checked a few hours later that morning, it had gone. So, sometimes, I get alerts on issues that actually aren't issues.

    Also, when we were gone, at Christmas, we got a freeze alert, which was fantastic because we were not home and our house was 38 degrees. The freeze alert went off at 1:15 AM, which I appreciate. I said, "Okay, thank you. I'm out of town. I'll take care of it in the morning." And then, 15 minutes later, the freeze alert goes off again and I get another phone call. So, I got three phone calls in the middle of the night for the same issue. So, I guess the only thing that I would suggest is maybe on that first phone call, had the person that I first spoke with said, "It sounds like you're out of town. Do you want me to turn off the alarms? Otherwise, you're gonna get woken up every 15 minutes," it was on the third call that I finally was like, "Listen, can we do something about this?"

    The fact that we got the alarm was fabulous. It's just I lost a lot of sleep over it 'cause I kept getting calls, which is still better than coming to a house with pipes frozen because it was 10-degree weather that whole week. But that'd be my only thing, and again, it was better to get the warning. Nevertheless, the reps have been great. I have also told a lot of friends about how the freeze alarm saved our house. But yeah, I would just say that I'm really happy that we picked Vivint and that we would pick it again if we were looking again.

    Other than with the price, I'm satisfied with Vivint overall. I'm paying a little more than I should, but at the time, I needed security. I'm still paying $49 a month and I've seen others offering it for a little cheaper so I'm going to see what my options are. Nevertheless, the installer was precise and really nice. He gave me some more features that I didn't have before. Also, when I changed the battery on the fire detector, I took the cap off but I couldn't get it back on. I hate to call them for that since I'm afraid that they will charge me for it. So it has been sitting up there without the cap on for almost a year now. I just can't figure out how to clip it back on. But they could walk me through it, which should be simple.

    The Vivint door-to-door salespeople who came to our home were courteous. We weren’t happy with our alarm company at that point as we had a different contract where we were on a monthly plan. How we're set up right now is not that way and we've got Vivint since 2013. We had the old system then we wanted to go with the new system and so we had the upgrade in 2015. The installation that time was fine for the most part, but they could have done a little bit more of helping us set up our phones with the Vivint security. I sent mine that had a problem but my wife's still isn't set up with a security system. It had problems and it still isn't working.

    Before, we had the ability to work from the phone itself but we didn’t have the door camera. We have that now then the camera quit working and I didn’t realize that the camera was under warranty and so at the same time, I had noticed that they had a new system. We have the new Smart system in the upgrade and it allows for more parts as well as it's supposed to work with our little Alexa on Amazon Echo. Also, the Vivint is actually helpful whenever I call my support line. We were having problems with one of our alarm system, the housing's lock side detector, and it was nice to be able to actually call them through the device right on our panel and have them talk to me and set me through that. I was impressed with that because we didn’t have that before

    I'd recommend Vivint to a friend. The only thing I wish was to put one of the little movable cameras we saw in the patio room but the guy says that it won't function if it goes below 40 degrees. I didn’t understand that because I didn’t read that anywhere. But our patio room gets really cold, almost like a refrigerator, that's why I wanted that camera so I can look at things out in the patio room before they would ever come into our house. I wish for outdoor cameras I can put in the patio room but I can't afford it right now. Still, I'm impressed with the com devices like the doorbell devices. I'm really happy with the Vivint products and the service support that I've received thus far. Yet I'd probably veer others towards the outdoor camera route as just a camera that can go inside the house, unless they got kids whom they want to monitor when they come home from school and the indoor camera would be great.

    We were building our house in the Kenai River many years ago and a Vivint representative happen to be there and talked to us. And since we were so far from police service, we decided to go ahead and put in a system. We were mainly looking for the ability to watch our heat and freeze temperatures if we were not in the house. And so far, Vivint has very good service and we're very satisfied. The last rep that came here was very polite and efficient. Some of our equipment wasn’t functioning correctly so we put in some more door sensors and checked out the system. We've been with Vivint for a long time now and it's always been a very efficient company. They are easy to deal with and we've recommended them to many of our friends.

    I was with ADT before and they gave me a higher price, so I was trying to see what else was available in our area. I Googled and Vivint came up. So I called them and they helped me out. Their sales rep was great, answered all my questions, and gave me everything I needed. Then I had several miscommunications with the installer but I don’t think it was his fault. It was my first time getting an alarm system and I didn’t know how the setup worked. But I felt bad because he had to wait for me the second time. Other than that, we had a few laughs while he was installing and he worked really fast. The installation took a lot faster than I thought it would be and that was great.

    I have the house alarm that has the window sensors and so far, their service has been amazing. I had two break-ins before but not since I’ve had the Vivint sign outside. We also have a Facebook page out in the area I live in and we have break-ins every single day. So, every time somebody posts about an incident on there, I post a link to Vivint's website, give their phone number out, and say that this has worked for me.

    The installer was very nice but after he left I noticed my Camera outside is barely hanging on. You can tell he tried one spot which now has holes. Then put an anchor in he didn’t use. Third hole is barely on. I’m sure it will fall down at some point. Can’t even use motion sensor because my 10 lb dogs keep setting it off. Cameras outside set off alert a few hundred times a day so had to turn notifications off. Makes it worthless. Not happy and spent $1700. Never had these issues with ADT.

    Vivint may be among the most expensive security systems on the market, but you are paying for quality -- albeit with a few caveats. Customer service is great, but they clearly need to hire more reps or work on some automated solutions to reduce wait times. The tech is good, but it's not the sexiest on the market. Our video doorbell shoots video, but the motion sensor doesn't always trigger the record function. So I recommend upgrading to 24/7 video recording. Also, the control panel is responsive and well designed, but it lacks customization options.

    The problem is that even though Vivint has some major issues, it's still head and shoulders above many of its competitors. It's a dismal market with a lot of subpar offerings, so it's not exactly difficult to be the best. With Nest expanding and Amazon buying Ring, expect services like Vivint to start innovating in order to compete. The next few years could be interesting. Do I recommend Vivint? Sure? Kinda? Maybe I'd be more positive if they were $30/month. But at $50/month, I expect more than what I'm getting.

    I've been looking into making a smart home and went to Best Buy. I saw that they had it there but I went through Vivint itself. I was slowly getting all my stuff that I wanted. I have the keypad door entries, the window break, the door sensors, the motion sensor inside, the doorbell, and the pad that monitors everything. When I initially first spoke with somebody on the phone, we were going back and forth and he was responding to my emails and my text messages. But once I got a date set for them to install, when I was trying to get a hold of him, I could not get a hold of him anymore so to me, it was like once I got set, he was done. The installation was fine. The guy was prompt and went over everything with us. He was really good. However the pad that's on the wall kept freezing up every time I went to look at the clips so I had somebody come out last week. It was frozen when he got here so he just changed it out for me. He showed me how to reboot it, and it hasn't frozen up anymore.

    I have a Nest Thermostat that was installed by Vivint. What I didn't know was that I needed a common wire installed so my cooling and heating system would run correctly. I noticed that my Nest Thermostat kept losing power. I had to call an HVAC person to come in and install the common wire. If the common wire was not installed the system would keep short cycling and damage the furnace. The common wire was installed for $350.00 through my HVAC company. I wouldn't have gotten the Nest Thermostat through Vivint if I knew I needed a common wire. Vivint wouldn't refund any of payment.

    I upgraded from my existing alarm system and now I have two cameras from Vivint, the front door camera and the doorbell. I also have a front door lock and a bunch of sensors. With those features, I got value for my money. My brother-in-law uses Vivint too and he is satisfied with the product. But in my case, my satisfaction is not the highest because I think the system has struggled. I have a large house, about 2,500 square feet.

    The location with the router system versus the panel and everything else is so spread out that it struggles with connectivity in WAP so I have a lot of issues like with the doorbell and the front lock communicating, and cameras dropping in and out. I can’t see. They put repeaters in to try to address it but the fundamental problem is that the router that they installed is a very weak one. While it may work in 75% of the homes that they installed it to, my house is too big for it. It’s just not performing the way it should perform.

    Their reps have all been very nice and I've been impressed with the courtesy of their sales reps. They all wanted to help. But sometimes, it’s just wild good chases, especially over the phone. The connectivity problems are so poor that they couldn’t really fix that problem from where they were at and it requires a technician. I was 45 minutes on a call when at the end, there was still no resolution. They would just send a tech out and I wish they would have figured that out the first five minutes. But they have been very nice. The real resolution comes, though, when there are boots on the ground and someone actually shows up.

    I like the product and I definitely like the ability to control the system remotely. The system doesn’t work as consistently as I would like it to so when it’s functioning, it’s great. For the most part, it has been working okay in the last four weeks. But the camera still is a problem. If someone has a large house that’s between 2,000 and 3,000 square feet, they'd struggle. Otherwise, the Vivint system is fine as is.

    We were looking into home security and Vivint was the only local ones in our area. We have cameras and 24-hour monitoring. The installation experience was less satisfying. We weren't able to connect everything. The installer was in a rush. I've had to call a couple of times because something was offline but they were able to answer all my questions in a very quick manner and get everything fixed. They were extremely easy to get a hold of with the customer service. They're excellent.

    My panel disconnects from WiFi most of the day, and manually attempting to connect to my WiFi does not work most of the time. My garage door opener is not reliable from both the app and panel.     To start off, the camera motion sensors don’t always work (both doorbell and regular camera). I’ve had many occasions where I leave the house or I get a visitor and camera won’t even detect that someone was there. Not saying that’s always the case but it happens very often. I have two “Vivint” thermostats in the house, I can only change one of the two through the app at a time, and that’s if I’m lucky. Sometimes I would have to restart the phone app few times to be able to change the thermostat temperature. (And yes both app and panel software are up to date per Vivint suggestion) Still don’t work. Main panel occasionally disconnects from WiFi, and does not reconnect. I do have a separate Linksys router for the Vivint system, no difference. I tried resetting network settings and rebooting the whole panel which takes over 15 mins. Still doesn’t reconnect until sometimes a couple of days later when it feels like it (On its own).

    In the meantime I have no access to cameras while not connected to WiFi. At some point all cameras and panel went offline for over a week. I spent 3h on the phone with customer service, and reset every single piece of equipment to get everything up and running to avoid having to pay $45 fee for a technician to come out and diagnose the problem. I don’t understand how a system that’s newly installed (less than a year) can have multiple malfunctions and yet I would get charged for someone to come out and take a look at it.

    It’s very disappointing to have such an unstable system when paying decent $$ for equipment and service. The only reason I gave this review 2 stars is because customer service and monitoring has been on point. But as far as hardware and equipment reliability, it’s low quality for the money. Maybe the problem lies in the main panel being glitchy, but I really don’t want to pay $45 to have a tech come out and inspect the “leased” equipment. I believe there should be some sort of equipment/installation warranty for first year or something similar.

    We have been with Vivint for about 6 to 8 months now. We have had issues with the cameras losing signal and lapses of time without recording. We had something stolen from the front yard during one of these "down times". Vivint tried to problem solve it by phone and "updated" the panel. Now the camera doesn't work at all. They will only come out to fix their pieces of crap after I agree to pay them a 49 dollar service fee. I feel like I shouldn't have to pay for them to fix their crap, after all. I pay 90 dollars a month for a service that I am not actually getting! I am very disappointed with the customer service.

    If somebody breaks in, I want to know about it. So my service package has a motion detector, a backdoor garage, a laundry room and a backdoor, and a break glass on the egress window in the basement. The sensors that were here were from the old company that I had. And when a sensor was giving me trouble and wouldn't communicate, they wanted to charge me $39 when they never put in a new one in the first place. I talked to a representative and told her that I shouldn't have to buy this since that was their system and they should maintain it. She then talked to somebody there and they sent another sensor. I have to hook it up over the phone, but Vivint should take care of that so it would correspond with my motherboard.

    My mom, who's is 97, sometimes forgets to shut the sensor off. The alarm would go off and I would get a call and then I would call home. Vivint has been patient and fairly good about it. They are a great company and they react fast, but their price is higher than some other places. But I have absolutely no complaints as far as the people and dealing with them.

    I’ve had a problem with Vivint's referral program. I’ve referred a couple of people and they don’t honor the referral program. They said “Oh, we’ll look into it” and nothing has been done about it. And then they send me an email about how their customer service was about that. But everything else has been good. When I had technical issues everything gets resolved really quickly.

    Also the installation guy, Jessie, was really good. He was just very thorough and he did everything that I needed him to do as far as a clean installation and location. He was able to answer any questions. I showed my friends the interface that I have on my phone and I showed them how they connect with cameras, how they can arm and disarm and also when they’re in my home I show them the panel and how stuff works.

    I encourage anyone that is thinking about going with this company to seriously read the reviews. I messed up and didn't do that. Let's see. Since I have been with Vivint my garage door has opened randomly numerous times while I was away from my house, according to my Notifications, "Go back home". Scared that someone might be in my garage and the garage is shut. So I contact Vivint and they do some diagnosing over the phone after being on hold for an hour to tell me everything looks good. After the third time of this happening... I simply asked if I could get a camera over my garage door to prevent from me having to drop what I am doing to check to make sure my house is safe. Not able to do it unless I wanted to pay full price for the camera and installation. Now here we are, and a technician finally comes out in December to check my equipment from all the faults I have been having.

    They end up telling me my 20meg internet is too slow for their system... so they install this router to separate the signal, and they also check my garage door, do an update, and adjust the living room glass break. Now my issues are: My panel won't communicate with the sensor and one of the windows, so now I have to override those sensors so I can arm my house. And my doorbell camera no longer tells me someone is at my door and the notification is on on the panel and on my phone... and I have reset it numerous times.

    Overall EXTREMELY dissatisfied with this system and this company. You are better off getting the system yourself through Nest or Ring than having to deal with this Company. ADT is offering the same services for half the price, but I am unable to do anything because I am TRAPPED with this company and this faulty system until 2020. I am definitely not one to leave horror stories on reviews but I feel like people should know what they are getting into before they get the product.

    A guy from Vivint walked into our neighborhood. He was a smooth talker and claimed he had good products and had a heck of a display. He was nice, promised a lot and said they'd get it done soon and they did. I like the cameras that were included in our package the most, and the door locks, too. However, the installation team has been out seven times. Everything they installed broke. The service is great but the products are absolute garbage. We replaced every camera twice and the main control thing once. The salesman didn't tell me that while the products have a lifetime warranty, the service on them was not for a lifetime. So I have to pay $50 a piece every time they come out to fix their stuff after 60 days. And that was stopping me from referring Vivint to anybody ever again.

    I love the customer service. They go above and beyond. The help desk walked me through stuff. They understand that I don't do this for a living, so mostly they make it easy to understand. But I would not recommend Vivint because they only use Vivint cameras, Vivint doorbells, and Vivint door locks. Everything's Vivint. And Vivint has a great name and sales team but they have horrible products. And I wish I'd go back in time and undo it because I've never heard of a company that offers a lifetime warranty on their products but then charges you every time they come out to fix their stuff. I wish I had done a little more research, too, before. If I was a little more familiar with the other reviews, I'd probably have been a little more hesitant.

    I have two packages with Vivint. I have one at home and one at my business and they're both alarms. I have the fire, the smoke detectors at home, but in my business I have the break glass, four security cameras and the door alarms. They were able to install and finance the equipment but it's very expensive. I was under the impression it's going to be cheaper than it is and it's not. I never agreed to a $180 a month for a security system. But as far the customer service, the people were nice.

    After being frustrated and a few calls to them in the last few days, I have to state that overall, I believe it's a good concept. The product overall hasn't been very consistent, in my experience. I have invested a good amount of money into it so I am hoping that it gets better. The technician I had very recently was knowledgeable and helpful. Maybe the first technician just forgot certain things.. I don't know.. Overall, I think that they need to improve their customer service and try harder to keep their customers happy. I will give them another chance and see how it goes.

    Not only the first technician did not do his job properly and lied about the sensors he had activated, there has been one issue after another. On top of it, when you call regarding issues, they expect you to fix the issues yourself. They charge $45 for the visit of the technician. It’d be ok if the system and the app worked as advertised. Not pleased one bit. I will go back to ADT.

    Our service package got the breakage system, rear camera, door lock and an indoor camera. The service originally done was not a really good experience and the installers were pretty adamant about fixing everything. They left the air vent bent over when they installed the rear camera in back because they ran a wire through there and all kinds of animals could get in. My wife thought everything was cozy until we had an issue with the camera in the back and I started noticing all these dings when I came back from abroad.

    They rectified all those problems because we changed the indoor camera for an outdoor one because my car got broken in and we had no security there. They told us that they were going to call us when we had set up a deal to get the cameras switched, but they never called us back until we called them. Other than that, I've been satisfied with my experience. We've had them for more than half a year and I would recommend them to a friend, though they have to keep up with Vivint because they would tell you one thing and would not follow through.

The initial crew during the installation made some minor errors and they had to correct them, which they did the following day. The only thing I have is the alarm system -- I don't have any cameras.     My neighbors had Vivint and they said that it was good, so I went with them too. I had the automatic door locks and window sensors and so far, I'm satisfied with it. However, their rep was a little overly aggressive. I really wasn't fond of that. I was just totally interested in the product. The installation was also a mess. When I did the move out to Pittsburgh, that was fine. But when I first went with them with my Arkansas house, that wasn't a good experience at all. They told me originally the installation was going to be a couple of hours and then the guy didn't end up leaving that night till 10:00 PM. Everybody had to work the next day and that part wasn't great. Overall, it was okay, it was a little expensive though. If they can make their prices a bit lower, that'd be great.

    I'm extremely disappointed with the inconsistency of Vivint Home Security NOT working HALF THE TIME on any "one" or "several" certain security zones! This system is completely unreliable for the SAFETY that we think are paying for!     I was in Best Buy looking at doorbell deals. And Vivint was there, had their deals set up, I talked to their rep. He showed my wife and me the system and we were convinced that it was a good deal and we decided to do it. We used to have ADT and we canceled that and went with them. It's about the same but Vivint was cheaper.

    Their rep was very knowledgeable and on the stuff that he didn't know about, he went and found out about it. He satisfied all the questions we had. The kid who came out here was very knowledgeable too and did a great job. The installation took about three hours because he had to run the wires for the cameras and my attic where he had to do it. It wasn't the most person-friendly attic so it took a little bit time but he got it done. I've had a service call and that was a good experience too.

    We have the whole security system. I've got four cameras, the thermostat deal, and the front doorbell deal. I'm also monitored by them. I like it that I can answer the doorbell from remote. That's a great feature. And I know when stuff is being delivered to the house like during Christmas time, that was great because I would know whenever packages got here.

    The product knowledge of Vivint's sales representative is good. That was the first thing I’ve noticed. And the installation team was also good. It took them about four hours to have everything installed. Our Vivint system allows me to be able to monitor everything going on in the house remotely. But I’ve had issues with the unstable technology like with the cameras going offline or something is not working. There are some things that they can do as far as room for improvement. But over the past three to five months it’s been better. I had some things done since I’ve had the system in place that has helped the stabilization of everything staying online. I haven’t had any issues lately so hopefully it stays that way and it should be good. I would endorse Vivint. I had some issues here and there but nobody’s got a perfect system but for what you’re getting as far as the technology and things that they offer and with their installation specialist it’s good.

    We had the Vivint system installed in September. It was well-installed and everything seemed to be fine, but then I noticed that the cameras integrated with the panel in one of the interior/exterior doorbells were offline. I couldn't view them. They put in an additional router but they put it through my own router, which caused some delays. So, we have since removed that. And then the Two-Way Talk portion doesn't work most of the time. But they told me the security portion does not fail.

    We've also had a couple of technicians come out to try and troubleshoot the cameras. And one of the sales person that we worked with was supposed to be sending a note to the Vivint internal team to get someone out here to deal with one of the cameras but I still didn't hear back. I ended up going to the store and get in front of this case. It's not nasty, but I paid all this money and it's not working. It's very annoying and I get frustrated, but I don't look at it every day. Other than that, everything else about the system works.

    I've had Vivint for so long. They were giving away the free equipment the first time I heard of it. We went into a few difficulties but nothing that they didn't fix. If I've had a question the people on the will go through it until you get it fixed. They stay with you step-by-step and then next time if something happens or something gets triggered and you want to get rid of that, then you'll know how to do it.

    When we had something fixed the first technician didn't get it right the first time and was not really helpful. But the second one came back and he made everything right. Then I talked to them on the phone about moving and they were very helpful, very polite and professional. I like the fact that the system is so easy to use from the panel or just with the key fob. The panel is very easy to understand and it's very easy to go in and look for yourself what might be wrong. I would recommend Vivint because of the way that the panel works and the way the whole system set up. The only thing is it's expensive. It's not cheap by the month at all. But other than that it's a very good system and I feel secure with it.

    My brother-in-law told me about Vivint and I got my system through Best Buy. I have the camera and the app that allows me to see around my house even when I'm not home. Their reps treated me good, and they were knowledgeable and answered any questions I had. The guy who came to install was on time. He put it in, went through the whole system with me, and explained to me that sometimes it locks up, but I just have to do a reset. One time, I was trying to look at the cameras from inside my house and then it just froze up. It wouldn't bring up the front camera so I did a reset and it has been good after that. Vivint is a good system and their service has been good, too.

    Today is 2/20/18 and on 12/16/17 we purchased a $1,400 Security System from Vivint through Best Buy. It has been a nightmare experience that has caused multiple anxiety attacks beginning shortly after our system was installed. We've had our system a little more than 2 months and nothing hardly works! We purchased a Security System because there are frequent home break ins in our Subdivision and surrounding areas. When a second neighbor was attempted to be broken into I couldn't take it anymore and made the decision to get a Security System. Vivint is awful, their Customer service is atrocious! They don’t solve problems, they make excuses for all the issues we have with their equipment and I've had to fight these people repeatedly over the phone with little to no results!

    As I write this I have a system that is down and I called about it Friday and today is Tuesday and I've heard nothing from them not have they sent anybody to fix it. I've had to call several times and they keep you on the phone for a minimum of an hour each time up to 2 & half hours. I don’t have that kind of leisure time to devote to people who do nothing for you. And I found out once we have the sys 24 months they will start charging us! We have hardly had a fully working system since it was installed and they don't intend to fix it because they want to make more money off us to keep it not working! We have never experienced such BUYER’S REMORSE! My anxiety has been so high, I've had nightmares!

    Do I even have to give them one star??? Seriously, they are the WORST company EVER!!! Almost 6 years ago I signed a contract with them and for a year everything was fine. But then we moved and used our free move certificate. The tech came out in October and didn't have the right cameras so couldn't do that. Then while trying to install the thermostat he broke something so our heater wouldn't work, in late October so it was freezing for several days. Had a repairman fix it and cost almost $100. The tech came out again, but still didn't have the correct cameras. Finally on 3rd trip had correct cameras. BUT he couldn't get them working, and they never have been. Our keypad shorts the batteries constantly so we really don't use it in case it won't work while trying to get in and we are locked out. Our security system is worse than using a simple key.

    We asked them to lower our rate for the thermostat that we couldn't have and they said it was approximate $10 less per month. Both my husband and I spent hours on each phone call trying to convince them to make the rate change but no one could do it. Not sure why it was so difficult. It has been 5 years since that move. No cameras, no keypad and ability to lock our doors and no thermostat, yet we are paying for all of that. They have promised credits on our account, but do actually think they would deliver? Don't count on it.

    We tried canceling our service over a year ago but they won't stop charging our card. Now our card has expired and they expect we are willing to pay them an extra $200 on top of what we have already been overpaying for the last 5 years. Not on your life!!! We are about ready to take them to court. This has been a nightmare. Do not sign a contract with them. There are countless reviews online everywhere with similar experiences as. You will be giving yourself the biggest headache of a lifetime!!!

    I live in a condo and as soon as I got it, my bestfriend realized that next to my house door there’s always traffic nonstop. She's with Vivint and she said that I needed to put cameras because I'm just a single mom with two little kids. So she called Vivint and set up everything for me. I got the service package with a camera, alarms for my door and windows, the front doorbell, and the kid’s bedroom camera. It took a while to install everything because of the internet. But the guy who came out was really awesome and he helped me out. He explained the system to me, told me how to use it, and set it up for my phone. So far, I’m happy with Vivin't service. A couple of times I had an accident where I set up the alarm then forgot about the alarm inside, and when I went to smoke on the balcony then the alarm went on, and I got a call from Vivint right away. As soon as my parents finish with their remodeling, I’ll install one for them as well.

    The features of Vivint are good and the only thing I don't like is the contract portion. The salesman had actually sold me a doorbell camera, which was one of the features that I needed. And then as I signed the contract the technician came out and said my doorbell was not eligible for it because it was a brand new house and I had a new doorbell and their camera wouldn't work on it.

    If you call in and you can convince them of an issue that they're at fault at they will definitely make a correction on it and make it right for you. They did that with the doorbell camera. It took a couple of years going back and forth and I didn't call them consistently. But I thought about it maybe once a year, "Oh, god. I don't have the doorbell camera." And so they said, "It's not us, it's your doorbell." We finally got it resolved after 2 years. I replaced the doorbell and they put the camera in at no charge.

    Vivint has the latest technology and updated equipment in terms of security systems. I'm a realtor and I know that for a fact so do refer people out to them. Even their indoor camera is good. It plugs in and you could see what's going on in your house. They got the newest trends including their outdoor cameras, which I don't have but I'll eventually probably come back and get those.

    Vivint has been the worse mistake I could have made to protect my home. I have had nothing but issues since installation, it has been a long 5 weeks. The very first week of installation the nightmare started with low battery indicators and cameras failing. They sent a tech out to fix them, he replaced the panel and things worked for roughly 4 days. Then my panel started messing up again. Just froze and nothing worked. After spending 2 hrs on the phone with Vivint they finally prioritized my issue and got a tech out. He was a trainer and very knowledgeable. One of their best according to customer service. He replaced the panel again and did appear to know his stuff but it's useless to know the equipment and system if the product is garbage to begin with.

    I am now dealing with my cameras not working again. The truly sad part about Vivint is the Cameras are expensive and Vivint forces me to stay around because I have to Pay these cameras off, similar to your cell phone plan except no contract just the added cost to pay them off monthly. Truly the very worse experience, I doubt my feedback matters to Vivint. All I can do is warn all others via reviews and report it to BBB. Sincerely a defeated user warning you to stay away!!

    When we moved into the house, Vivint was already installed. We have the thermostat, the control panel, the two doors that are on the electric door lock, and then the windows. Nevertheless, the installers were nice, they did what they had to do and the installation went well. We tested out the doorbell camera for a couple of days but had decided that we didn’t need it. Also, their app wasn't working right as far as setting the alarm and it takes a couple of minutes for it to lock and unlock. And then, our billing is still messed up here. Our loan amount with Citizens is wrong, and I've called a couple of times so they haven't fixed it yet. This has been going on for six months. Whenever I called in, the people were nice and they help. However, they can’t fix what I’ve been trying to fix. There’s a cheaper system up there too and I would tell other people to shop around first and tell them to consider Vivint.

    A couple of years ago, a Vivint salesman came to the door, and we just agreed to get the system. The guy was friendly and knowledgeable. The installation went fine, and the installer showed us how to use it. Aside from the system, they put sensors on the doors and the windows, and they connected it to my garage door too. I also got a carbon monoxide sensor. I’m pretty satisfied with the service. At the time that we got the system, I was living in another house, and I have sold that one already. When we purchased the system, they told us we can leave the system, that we didn’t have to take it with us if we ever move.

    My daughter also got a system installed in where she was renting. When I sold my house and moved, we then moved in together because I got a casita attached to the big house. I tried to work with them, but they would not budge on letting us out on one of the contracts. So, it is pretty dumb, but we have two systems in one house. And I figured, “Well, as soon as my contract’s over, we’re getting rid of both systems.” There are others out there that we can go to. In fact, the house that we bought is brand new, and one of the other companies is offering us two years free with the system installed because it is a brand new house.

    We had a little incident when the Vivint system was installed in our first house. The installer went through the other side of the wall and made some damage to the drywall. But they gave us a settlement amount so I could hire somebody to fix it so that got handled. Additionally, when my daughter had accidentally set off the alarm, they contacted us right away and we were able to let them know that it was an accident. They've been really good anytime we've had an event. I used to have ADT and Vivint is way better than ADT. Their customer service is more thorough when they call. I have recommended to a couple of people to install through Vivint and they have.

    Issues with System: system frequently loses network connection. I tried to remedy this by upgrading router from 3 Mbps to 18 Mbps. Customer support said a Linksys router should have been installed for the Vivint system that ties into my home router. This was not done originally. A Technician is coming out to install one this coming Wednesday. The system is currently connected straight to my home Wi-Fi router.

    Backyard camera frequently goes offline and is slow, missing movement capture on a lot of occasions. Is something wrong with the camera? I can watch the doorbell and driveway cameras using home Wi-Fi on my cell phone from the backyard without issue. Connecting to the backyard camera through the app is generally always a problem. Originally camera showed a rose color display. Install technician said he’d send someone to check it (never did). I rebooted the camera a few times and issue seemed to resolve itself. I have a Wi-Fi booster 1-1/2 feet from the camera and 2 Wi-Fi extenders close by in the house. You’d think the camera should have no problem with connection speed. Hopefully the technician can resolve this issue.

    Camera signal strength is inadequate for backyard and driveway. Doorbell camera ranges from 82 to 98%, typically sits at 84% signal strength. Driveway camera ranges from 50 to 60%, typically sits at 50% signal strength. Backyard camera ranges from 34 to 42%, typically sits at 38% signal strength. Needs: Need Linksys router installed. I need all cameras to have greater than 60% signal strength. Consider replacing backyard camera with new one. The ADT box the Vivint system tied into is now a mess, can it be tidied up to look more professional? Please remove ADT cell phone module. General Comments: Service folks are always pretty helpful; however, would suggest Vivint starts monitoring “new install” system performance and acts to proactively address issues.

    I had a great initial experience with the sales rep and install team. The cameras, mainly the doorbell, is slower to respond when someone is at the door than expected. If someone comes and goes before I can respond through the doorbell then what's the point?! Trash! Since the install I have wanted to have 2 cameras moved and possibly add another. I'm still waiting for certain products I was promised. I get a weekly text from sales rep saying he is working on getting a tech out. It's been 17 days and... crickets! Lame.

    A person walked through the neighborhood and offered a particular product with Vivint to me. He was professional and nice. I signed up with Vivint and so far, they have done well for me. I have the service for a year now and my favorite feature is the doorbell. When I moved recently, one of their guys came out to install it in my new house but after finding out that it was not pre-wired, that didn’t work out. After that, someone came out again to pick up the doorbell.

    They also had to install the other equipment when they processed my move and their installation reps were really cool and professional. They came, showed their badge, and did everything that they were supposed to do. Then they had to come back out because the door lock was not working and they had to replace it. Right now, I have the cameras and the display panel. It’s been taking a little bit for my service to get adjusted in my new home and there have been a couple of updates that had to take place with the door lock, the camera, and on the app. But it’s a good service and I am satisfied.

    We have been a customer of Vivint for about six years now. The package that we got was the box with the fire/smoke alarm. We have been very happy with it. There was a gentleman that had come in and checked all of our motion sensors. He added and took some and put them in different spots. We've always had a very good relationship with Vivint. The only issue we had was with the signs that we got from them. The ones that you stick in the flowerbed. We never got them lit up because with the snow and everything out here up in Fort Mcmurray. It's heavy and it always keeps breaking the sensor off. It's just stuck there all the time and they've given new boxes for it but it doesn't really help.

    Even so when there were odd things that happened in the house we've gotten a call over the system and we got to it looking up and everything was resolved and worked out. We've always had awesome experiences with the customer service. We've had everything updated. Also the payments aren't too bad and we've never had to pay for anything extra and we've just been very happy overall with the company.

    I'm satisfied with the service I have with Vivint, although I rarely use it. I have had them for around five years or more and it was the only one available to me at the time when I needed the service. I have a motion sensor and three-door chime that was decided by the installer. He was fine, professional, courteous, and knowledgeable and thought that those features were the best. We have had calls from our local law enforcement anytime the alarm has been triggered. Anytime there's an issue here, the response time is excellent. They monitor it through the control pad itself. When my control panel went bad, they came out and redid that within the last year. One of the things that I don't like is the long contract terms. Nonetheless, Vivint provides good service.

    A customer of mine had the Vivint security system and liked it, so I tried it. Now I'm stuck with Vivint for five years. It was a hit-and-miss experience I had with Vivint and I'm not happy with them. The doorbell camera doesn’t work sometimes and that's an ongoing thing. I've spent a lot of time on the phone with the reps and that has been a pain in the neck. The problem hasn't been fixed, but they’ve been trying. They sent some stuff out, but I haven’t had a chance to set it up. The other problem I had is that they hooked me up with a loan, so now I've got these loan people after me. They emailed me bills and stuff. But I didn’t realize that I was going to be paying two different companies. My experience with Vivint hasn’t been the best. I just want them to be upfront with everything.

    The tech doing the install didn’t hook the nest thermostat up correctly so we spent one late January night cold because our furnace wouldn’t work. Then the next night we got a false alarm because the motion detectors are picking up stuff with nothing going on unless our two dogs weighing in at 5# and 7# are inviting friends over while we are gone. The doorbell cam spends more time offline than online. Pretty sure the firefighter box doesn’t work either. We were loyal Vivint customers for years at the house we sold before we built this one and I had very few complaints if any. I’m not sure if the tech has hooked the equipment up wrong or what but I couldn’t recommend Vivint to anyone at this point.

    We have been with Vivint for quite some time. A very nice person came door to door and it was my husband who spoke to him. At that time, we've got the alarm system and now, we have the fire alarm and the heating and cooling thermostat. The contract comes up in April and I'm at this point where I would like to add some other things. However, I don't like the thermostat. It's supposed to be connected to the computer and it doesn't even connect to it anymore. In addition, one of the cameras isn't working correctly. And so, I'd be waiting until the contract comes up and then that way I can decide which way I want to go with it.

    I have called customer service twice and I've had both of the people tell me to go over the switch. The first time, the rep told me to go outside and get into the box and turn it on and off. I told them there's no way I can open that box. And they said that they can't help me. I asked if there's another way of doing it since I have solar panels and turning the whole system off won't work. And so they told me to push a little button in there. I did that but it's still not working. In the end, I said never mind and bid the rep goodbye. That was my last of that, not to mention, I got hold of one lady that was very very rude.

    Vivint's reps installed the security package on all doors and windows, the fire alarm, and the door lock on the front door of my house. The installers were very cordial, cooperative, and finished in 45 minutes. They also explained everything to me except the keyfob. I had a guy in later that explained that to me, and it does not serve my needs so I don’t care about it. Vivint's customer service has been very good, too. Getting a hold of them is just a matter of a phone call and anytime I needed something, they took care of it immediately. Everything has gone as expected and the system works well. I am a hundred percent satisfied with Vivint's service. However, I have their pendant that I can hit the button if I fall or get hurt. It works within 300 feet but I need it to go further, like when I go shopping.

    Buyer beware! On December 6, 2017 we had a Vivint home monitoring system installed. We have a signed contract, created, and sent by Vivint, for "0" installation and "0" equipment fees (equipment was transferred to us) and a monthly fee of $70.99. On January 3, 2018 we were charged on our credit card $1,299.69. We talked to various people multiple times over three weeks and promises were made by Customer Service for follow-up. No one in customer service ever got back to us as promised on any of these occasions. In fact, many times we were told to contact additional people who had no idea why we were referred to them, and they would transfer us around until we demanded to talk to someone with decision-making powers.

    Finally Stephanie ** worked with us to process our refund. The refund was accredited on January 25th. On February 2nd, Vivint then charged our account $669.85. We have been working with Kerria ** at Vivint to process a refund of $519.83 (this is minus two months service). Kerria said that she processed the refund on February 5th but there is still no deposit and she no longer responds to our emails. On February 16th we are now talking with Jeffrey **. He says the payment wasn't processed but promised it will be within 24 hours. We will see.

    We have documents, emails, and screenshots to back up our claim to fraudulent billing by Vivint. We are seeking to be released from our contract due to misrepresentation of charges. Finally, Vivint has no grievance policy/process for customers. I was told that I could "write a letter" to the main office. Therefore, I have filed a complaint with BBB and Consumer Financial Protection Agency as recourse.

    I have had Vivint for a bit. And frankly it has been the worst experience with a company I have ever had except for MediaCom. On Thanksgiving day I was at my children's home when I received a message on my phone from Vivint saying "there is an alarm event and Vivint is trying to contact me." First thing I did was try to log into my Vivint app to see who was breaking into my home or if possibly one of the dogs set it off somehow. As usual I was unable to even log into anything. At this point still no call from Vivint.

    The next message I got asked "would you like to silence the alarm?" As I still didn't have any idea what was going on I said yes. Silence the alarm. The next message I received asked me "is this a false alarm?" I said, "No. It is not a false alarm." Unbeknownst to me silence alarm was all Vivint needed to allow people into my home without codes or security words. Still no contact from Vivint. So finally being unable to log into my home to see what's going on and no call from Vivint I called them.

    When I finally spoke with someone they told me everything was ok. I asked what set off the alarm. They proceeded to tell me how they had determined that it was ok for people to be in my home even though they had no control panel code or security word and I had not been contacted. Needless to say I was furious. The people in my home did not have permission explaining why they had no alarm code. I have spoken with several representatives from Vivint. I filed a complaint with the BBB only to have someone tell me it was my fault for silencing the alarm.

    This company does not care about your safety. The equipment fails 90% of the time. Cameras do not record, doorbell does not ring and alarm monitoring is ridiculous as you don't need any codes to circumvent the security with Vivint. After my conversation today trying to have Vivint fix the doorbell that fell off my house because it wasn't installed correctly. They refused to even speak with me without the security word. That was of course the last straw. Vivint and I had kind of worked things out and we were going to proceed hoping things would be better. But today changed my mind. I will spend the rest of my days making sure people know what kind of company Vivint is.

    A Vivint sales rep came to my door and explained everything in detail to me. He was very quick getting the technician to do the installation on that same day and everything went well. I got Vivint's motion detector and cameras and the installation was quick and good. However, I don’t always have access to the front door camera since I’m supposed to see it wherever I am if somebody rings the doorbell. I have it on my phone, but it keeps loading and I can’t always see who comes to my door. I’ve wondered if I have the internet connection right. I called Vivint about it but I was on hold for so long that I gave it up and then I'd try another time. We got to reset everything and it worked. But it’s not working again after a few days so I’m a little frustrated with that at this point.

    Also, they installed the camera at the back for the backyard but the camera was not positioned in the right angle and it did not properly cover the backyard. I had a burglary a few weeks after I got it installed. Somebody broke in and came in through the window in the backyard since there was a corner that was not covered. So, we tilted the camera to cover the area under the window. I also wanted to add two extra cameras after the burglary and Vivint said that it would be $800, which is too much, so I never did that. Overall, I have mixed feelings about Vivint. Once we got someone on the phone, they were nice and patient, which is how to talk to customer service. I’m happy with having the cameras but if there would be a chance that somebody else will be on the market that gives a better service, I will switch over. Still, Vivint has a decent service for the money that they charge but it could be better.

    Vivint was referred by a friend but it's not so good. I've been calling on and off for repairs. Then on Sunday, they came and did the repairs. It only lasted for a couple of minutes when they were here and that's it. Last night we've had a problem on the outside because there was a lot of swaying. There was someone at the back when I got inside and I saw the shadow of a man. But I was not able to see it because the cameras are not working properly. And I cannot see because I have to go back and it's not letting me anymore. I sent a letter again to Better Business Bureau. I am unsatisfied with Vivint.

    Installed Nov 2018. Tech was here till almost 8pm. He didn't help me put in passcode to company so when I accidentally set it off I couldn't confirm who it was. 2 cameras wouldn't work and faulty monitor. 2nd tech came in January, replaced monitor, router and smart door lock. I left and came back because I forgot my phone and was locked out. He didn't set the code on my smart lock and 2 cameras are still down. On 2-13-2018 another tech arrived at 10:30 am to fix everything, took pictures of camera wiring and sent to supervisor. Supervisor confirmed wiring is not code and red wire stapled all over the exterior of my home and red low voltage wiring zip tied to 120v high voltage line (a big no no). A 3rd tech showed at same appointment and all 3 worked till 7 pm when I asked them to leave because my wife has to eat, shower and get up at 2am for work. Still 2 cameras not online.

    They switched them out for Ethernet cameras but no good. Today 4/15/18 another tech arrived to fix the problem (supervisors across the country have big pow wow in Las Vegas and they are the only ones with a visa card). Supervisor knew they needed many feet of UV rated wire or conduit and tech today came unprepared with either. Left by 9:30 am with my cameras not working. I called Vivint, spoke with supervisor then loyalty dept. and nobody has authorization to go to Home Depot and buy $30.00 worth of conduit to fix my system. Loyalty wanted to give me a credit to offset the materials. Sounds like they wanted me to go buy the materials to fix their problem. It's their install that didn't work, they say the cameras are too far away but the initial installer said it's ok and put them in. Put me past the 14 day refund policy and I own the system.

    4 tech appointments later and still not working, 3 techs on one appointment. 38.5 manhours on this job and it still don't work. I'm a contractor and I have to take time off work for these appointments. I lose $35.00 an hour when I'm not on a job not to mention the inconvenience of them in my home all the time. My wife is furious that I even spent the $3300 dollars in the beginning. They want to come for Sunday appointments so we have to stay home with techs running through our home with routers, boosters running wire, learning multiple cameras on every appointment trying to get them to work. This is ridiculous. I've never seen such horrible organization or knowledge.

    I could understand a return appointment because something isn't working but 4 appointments and at least one more because it's still not working and they need someone with a credit card to buy necessary materials. Today's tech felt horrible because they sent him on a job without the materials needed to fix it and he has no authority to buy the materials. I am really pissed because I lost $300 in wages to be here for the appt. If you're looking for a security system be very careful and don't get caught up in what I'm going through. Cancel and refund within return policy time. (14 days) After that your on your own.

    I have been a Vivint for a few years and the company just keeps getting worse year after year. Latest problem with Vivint is that customer loyalty managers have NO clue as to what equipment customers need and if it will work, they just. I asked for an upgrade to my system, was told what would be installed, was given an appointment date and top of that, took $1,000.00 out of my bank. When they showed up the first thing he said was "it won't work ". The panel is too far away from the new equipment, he would have to drill holes in my walls and your family new wiring. He also said that people that you talk with have NO CLUE what goes in the field.

    I was told, $1,000.00 for equipment, 42 month contract and $31.99 a month. The tech even called Vivint and explained the problem with the new equipment. Vivint canceled everything but would not cancel the 42 months. I was told if I don't honor the new contract I would be turned over to Collection. I could care less if they turn me over to CIA. At the end of 11/2018 Vivint's equipment goes to the farm and used for target practice. People be aware of Vivint, a Wolf in Sheep's clothing.     Had Vivint come out today and replace the router and all systems working properly as of now on Thursday, 15 February 2018 and see how things work the next couple of days. We have had a lot of problems with the equipment such as smoke alarm cameras, 24 loop on cameras, false alarms and clips on the backyard camera. Specialist been down for 3 to 3 to 4 days. Hopefully everything is working good. We’ll see what happens the next couple days. Will not recommend to anybody to this company until everything is working properly and I am satisfied with the work.

    Be very careful with this company. Bought the system through Vivint Best Buy, everything is paid off. Installation got cancelled without notification. On the third or 4th appt of installation the guys came between 8/9pm and finished really late. Noticed one motion detector was not installed. Called the company. No one called back. After a month or so video cam is not recording, made an appointment again the guy didn’t showed up and didn’t bother to call. Then after a month Vivint was calling my work telling me I owe them $96.00, I asked them, "For what? You guys do automatic payment on my bank." They said it’s for an upgrade, I asked them what upgrade, they said “They don’t know, it’s very vague. And it just say I need to pay them.” I'm like, "You don’t even know how did I owe you guys money, and you want me to give you my money." Tried calling them more than 6x. Nobody gave me answers or help. Very frustrating.

    I just retired and I was consulting. I was keeping some secured test materials in our home so I thought it would be a good idea to get a security system. Our house was wired for it but we never hooked it up. Vivint offered to do a free install. The salesman was good and he was there at the right time. He convinced me to buy the service. Since we haven’t shopped around, we went with their system. I got Vivint’s standard package. However, the installers took all the wires to the different windows and doors and put it on one item. The whole house was armed. It didn't have the bypass feature where I could leave out a window open for a ventilation and still alarm the rest of the house.

    After our original contract was up, we renewed and they knocked $5 off a month. They came out, fixed the wiring correctly and installed a different panel in the bedroom because I had asked for one where we could see that the system was armed, we could see if our window was open, which window was open or we could bypass certain sensors if we wanted to arm it without arming that sensor. Whereas, the original device, all we could do was arm it from our master bedroom which was on the opposite side of the house. The installers were in and out as quickly as they could that was why they hooked it up incorrectly the first time. It was our first ever experience with an alarm system so I didn't realize that we didn't have some features that we should have had.

    Our daughter went with Vivint too and then, they sold their house and moved. They were without the system for three months because there was no one in the area to move it to the new house. They were charged for a couple of months without the service and Vivint took off one month. I was disappointed in that especially since she went with Vivint because of what our system was able to do. We’re in a townhome right now that we’re having remodeled and I’m thinking of going with another system. I’d tell my friends to shop around too.

    So far, with a few exceptions, we have been satisfied with Vivint's service. We had an issue with one of the alarms being in a building that was too far away from the house. It was having trouble communicating with the system, but that was resolved. Then when we had trouble with one of the door locks not functioning, some of the technicians we talked to were not familiar enough with the system and how it worked, so we had to make several calls to resolve the issue. Considering the new technology, we thought about upgrading our service since we had an old equipment. However, Vivint wasn’t willing to upgrade any of the items that we had because we still had a couple of years left on our contract. It's going to be up in a few months and we might reconsider going with somebody else if Vivint isn’t willing to provide the services that we’d like to have now.

    We had our system installed and within 24 hours the system went down. We were told someone would be out to fix it and 48 hours later we still didn't have anyone show up. I called and asked for someone to be out that evening or remove the system. I was told I would get a call back and never did. They showed up and couldn't get it fixed, came out again the next day. An hour after they said they would be there and it hasn't worked since. I sent in the request within the allotted timeframe to have the system removed.     Vivint was already installed in the home that I just bought. I’ve been with them since October and I like the idea of the whole system, the camera at the doorbell and all of that, although I have some questions as to where I can see and receive phone calls or answer the doorbell from my phone when I’m outside. At the time, I didn't have my internet set up here so they didn't do that before. Vivint is so new to me and the system is much better than some of the others that I've used in the past at other locations so I'm excited about getting the upgrades and being able to answer with a phone and maybe even lock the doors and things like that as well from my phone. I would want to receive an occasional call from the tech service or sales to check and see if everything is okay and what they can do for us.     Almost all Vivint customer service was polite and respectful, easy to deal with. Same goes for installer. Only glitch was installer forgot to leave the sign. When I called Vivint regarding this matter, the customer service employee was abrupt, saying he wouldn’t charge me the $10 “this time”. Keypad is straightforward and user friendly.

    The app is a very nice feature, convenient. My only complaint is it doesn’t require a password to disarm the system. When I asked Vivint about this they said customers don’t want it... this customer does. If anyone steals my phone when it’s unlocked they have access to my home. I feel it should be offered as an option and left for the customer to make that decision. Security lacking here in my opinion. Overall satisfied with the service and the system.

If Vivint wasn't just a blatant scam for money and hope people don't sue them, they'd realize they could have had a customer for life rather than just worried about my first contract for services that did not work.     This company likes to keep charging you for service and equipment that is not working. Called them over 6 months ago and a technician was suppose to come out 2 weeks later...and didn’t show up. But guess what they continued to charge me for service that didn’t work. They said they tried calling to reschedule which is a lie. Their word against mine. What happen to customers being right.     I called ADT and the guy I talked to was knowledgeable, and his package was close to $600, but I didn’t get a good feel from him. On the other hand, the guy that I talked to on the phone from Vivint was a bit more knowledgeable and explained a few things over ADT that I didn’t know. Vivint's price was considerably higher than other choices I had. But the money wasn't as important as quality and observance to me.

    The quality of the service is good. If I ever have a problem, they'll get to it pretty quick. I had a problem with the driveway camera and they came out and fixed it. Also, my cameras were not reading. The driveway camera was off the whole time when I was on vacation and I couldn’t do anything about it until I got back, but when I got back, they fixed it. Lastly, a week ago, my app wouldn’t unlock my front door from town for some reason. It only unlocked the door when I was inside the house, but it cleared up somehow so I didn't have to call about it. Everything's going smoothly now. Compare the price over quality and if you can afford it, just go with Vivint.

    Not only did I get charged for months for an item I never received and was never reimbursed for the Alexa I never had. I ran into an issue last week with my Vivint security and I am extremely upset! While my battery stated it was low, and even after speaking with Vivint support tech (they can pull recorded conversation) I had 40% battery left on my front door lock and because I have the keypad, I do not (Which now I see that I will start doing so) carry the spare key, I've had this security system for some time and with 2 kids it was easy for them to just put in the code. The Vivint Support Tech attempted a reboot and all other methods with no luck, he stated that the Lamp Module Sensor was interfering with the reception to the front door keypad and told me my to call a locksmith. Not only was I livid! Now I had to pay someone $100.00 to open the door and with no other option but go directly through the keypad to unlock it.

    Do you think they offered to credit me for their error or state, "Hey let's see what we can do about your front door lock." No, instead I am being told they will not extend themselves in any way and it is ALL my responsibility. So now I am out a Keypad AND a $100.00 because Vivint security itself had an error and it was on no fault of my own and will not only compensate me for their issues, they have not gotten back to me in a timely manner, I have had to reach out again and again after being told someone would reach me within 48hrs. I should not be responsible for an error that was not in any way cause by my doing and it in fact was Vivint security that failed to be able to assist on an error on the company's end and the REP told me to get a locksmith. I have been a very good and loyal customer and have even referred this company to others. I will not be referring any more associates of mine.

    I like Vivint's security system. It is well designed and if the features worked, they'd be phenomenal. But it's unfortunate that I have other things going on with them and some of the support is not ideal. To start with, I didn’t get enough sensors even if I told them how many I needed. Then, within the first week, there was something wrong with the system. They also messed up on my billing. They're sending the billing to another location, and my billing and my charge card no longer match. Plus, they billed me for something that I didn’t get and they didn’t bill me for the things that I did get. When I called them to straighten all these out, they gave me an email address where I could send them the proof of payment. But when I tried sending it to them, the email bounced and the address they gave me is not a real one.

    The other thing is, I've tested the system and I was able to open some windows but the alarms were not responding. Also, I have animals and the alarm was set and tested to that sensitivity. Still, the alarm went off and Vivint called the police when I was just up the street and nobody contacted me first. So they're creating no end of troubles for me and right now, they're doing nothing to fix all of them. And when I had to call in, their reps were good but the person I spoke to at first couldn't help me. So I got transferred to this second person then I got transferred to another person and another after that. My other problem is that when I signed up for Vivint, they signed me into five years of this nonsense. Everywhere else is three years so I was really angry.

    I have overall received a great experience with my Vivint Smart Home security system. But, I have noticed that the monitor system that is attached to the wall is not always updated on the date of the calendar. When it turns midnight, the date still is the same, it should be changed to the new day. I did notice that the date eventually changes the day progresses on, but not on midnight. Also, the window sticker signs seems small compared to other security alarm companies I have been with in the past. Do you have any other larger window sticker signs? Also, I have noticed that the doorbell camera seems to skip footages. It does not record every time when someone leaves and arrives at the front door. I just mentioned these instances that I have noticed so far.

The cost per month is an issue because I've seen some other ones whose monthly charges are $35 and even cheaper than that.     I have been with Vivint for four years and so far, the operation of their equipment itself is excellent. I have everything they offer. Cameras, doorbell, garage door opener, and door locks. However, I had billing issues recently and they could be more helpful and clear on exactly how they package things together. And rather than just being able to answer the question, I was passed from person to person until I ended up in what they referred to as the customer loyalty area.

    That caught me off guard because I thought they were well schooled and well-trained. It didn't seem to be that way on the billing side. The issue was resolved eventually, but it took two different people and the second person talking to a third and fourth while I was on hold for probably 15 minutes. While this was not a big deal, it could have been resolved much quicker and easier. Still, the equipment works fantastic and the people at Vivint are always right on top of a call if the alarm goes off. It's an excellent system, overall.

    The cameras go out all the time. And when we call Vivint to get stuff fixed, they send somebody out but the appointment is usually like a month or more. They're not good with that at all. I have two Vivint systems, one at my house and one at my office. They got me stuck in this contract and the camera equipment is not working. It happened so much that I told them to just come and get the stuff back because they charge me $100 a month for that.

    I also told them to take me out of the contract or cut it down because it's not fair to me. I’ve got five cameras right now and two of them aren't showing any picture. My cameras have been out for two days, but I know it's pointless to call because they're just going to say that they’ll send a technician out and get me an appointment. They called me back three or four days later and I have an appointment in March. It's February and I don't have the cameras now. But they told me that was the closest they could find which is not helping me at all. I don't like it. I'm holding up to my part by paying them but they're not holding up to their part by my cameras working, so it's a mess.

    The Vivint’s sales rep was very nice and friendly and I loved talking with him. He was a student that was down here working for the Summer. We don't usually like it when someone comes to the door because we had to think about the product but he did a really good job with the presentation. We went ahead and bought the system with him. Also, the Vivint installers were really good. They were very helpful even when I had them all in here installing everything, then I had a problem with ADT. We had ADT before and I didn't like them. I had to take the Vivint system out and deal with ADT because they screwed me. Then, Vivint had to come back and reinstall.

    We just got the system upgraded to the new smart panel. I like my Key Fob. I can unlock the system as I come in, so I don't have to set the alarm off. So far, everything's pretty good. Vivint just changed the batteries but they died again, so they're coming out tomorrow to help me. I've already recommended Vivint to people. They provide great customer service and everybody I dealt with there was always really nice.

    Two weeks ago our security systems installed and that day the doorbell not working, so we called and schedule a technician to fix it, but the technician did not show up and no call also. So we rescheduled it again. Now the technician cannot make it because there is a problem with the previous appointment, so now we reschedule again this coming Wednesday, 2/7 morning. Hopefully the technician will show up. If this is not going to work, we decided to cancel our service and get a full refund. This is not acceptable at all. Poor service.

    From the beginning we were lied to. Gentleman came to our house, told us it was a 3 year contract... nope 5 years! Problems with the camera and door lock working that we paid extra for. After several times of having a technician out to fix it, work for a few hours then back to the same issue. Asked to have them removed from our bill. Nope they couldn't do that. Refer a friend and get a $50 credit. Yeah we did that to only be told that the guy that set that up quit so they have no proof! So no credit for us.

    Every issue that comes up with their equipment they want me to pay for a technician to come out and repair it after they keep you on the phone for hours trying to troubleshoot it yourself. After 4 years and 6 months I've had enough. I decided to take my services elsewhere and now I'm told the buyout is the price for services as I still had it! Seriously? I just paid $3,294 for stuff that hasn't worked proper since getting it. Then to cancel it's a pain. Write an email, talk to 3 departments. So long Vivint.

    The basic Vivint package that came with what I was getting for AT&T included the wall panel that connects to the wireless internet. It also has the doorbell camera so once the doorbell rings the camera pops out and I see who is ringing the doorbell. I have the camera inside too. I can also download their app which allows me to unlock and lock the doors using my phone. Also, I can see what is going on in the house through both cameras on my cell phone. So, if I call, I'd get a discount and they're just monthly installments unlike how ADT makes you pay for all the equipment upfront.

    Vivint's installer was really great as he answered all the questions I had. Everybody at Vivint did their job and they didn't make my life any harder. The system definitely had some glitches. In fact, I just had the doorbell camera fixed and I need to call again because it's messed up again. It keeps going in and out. Over the phone though, their reps worked with me and I didn't have to pay a fee for them to come out to fix the doorbell. The inside camera works fine and the motion sensors are really sensitive which is good. The glass break feature is really good too. I had to turn it off though because it was just a little too sensitive. Overall, it's an okay system.

    However, they should make the fine prints in the contract bigger so we could look at it. I almost got out a magnifying glass just to look at it. Most people do not read the fine print on the back. I was told that I had a two-year contract, and then they were calling and asking what my remaining balance was just to pay everything off. Then they said I have a three-year contract. So, I looked at the fine print in the contract and it did say three years. But the biggest thing that I and fiancé got in trouble for was that we did not know that we had to call the county and register our system. We got a fine when the alarm system went out and called the cops.

    It’d be easier on the customer if Vivint registers the system when it was installed or they tell the customer when they install it that they need to register with the county if that county has that law. Nevertheless, I’m satisfied with my Vivint experience. I'd tell others to look at different packages and do not do the whole bundle package with AT&T and DirecTV. If you're looking at overall satisfaction and you don't have much money to put down on all the equipment, then Vivint is the place to go.

We’ve taken time from work to be home so that “new equipment” can be “fixed” time and time again. It’s an inconvenience.     I was at my sister’s house when Vivint came in and installed the system there. It was very interesting when I was sitting back listening to it. But since I had Vivint's alarm system, it has been one problem after another. My panel keeps going offline, and I had to replace the batteries twice since I had the unit. My sister keeps asking about that, and when Vivint comes out, there's nothing wrong with them. It has been four or five hours that the panel has not been recording or picking up anything, and that's a lot since someone has broken into my carpark right in front of my door. I had the door sensor, and it points to the front of my car. Vivint always recalls when somebody walks and pays, but they don’t recall when somebody was thinking of my car. Also, one night, the Vivint team was supposed to come out and fix my alarm system. I waited up, and they never showed up. They said that they were tired because they had a lot of emergencies.

    The sales reps are filthy, but they come out when I call them, and they try to do what they can do. But every time I tried to call the counsel to get out of my two-year contract, they said I’ve got to pay a fee. I’ve been with Vivint since the middle of June, and whenever I complained, they would just give me credits for the system not being up. They might give me $5, and they were trying to give me $3. And the most that they gave me was $30. The credits could help me, but I want them to let me out so I could go to somebody else. I was with ADT, and I've never had this issue. I only switched from ADT to Vivint because Vivint’s panel was much more reasonable. Overall, Vivint’s alarm system is terrible, and my experience with them has been sad.

    We switched to Vivint because we liked the equipment. We went to the store looking for cameras. We thought we could just install ourselves like some of our neighbors had done but when he explained to us the camera system that they had, he went into Vivint itself and how it worked and we just liked what he said and he told us the truth. It was very, very good in the beginning. Whenever we had a problem we called and the folks on the telephone were just superb -- very courteous and very professional. They knew their stuff and were very willing to help. They never rushed us. They even listened very carefully and we were very pleased with that.

    Then we ran into a problem that we cannot solve even though we got a lot of help from their folks on the phone. The local tech was scheduled to come and correct the problem. They were supposed to be here between 4:00 and 8:00 in the evening but we never heard from them or never called. At 8:03 I called the call center. They were very helpful like always. They said, “Let me see if I can get a tech.” The first rep couldn’t find one then the second one called again an hour later and was able to get a tech. The call center came back calling and said, “Hey, would you like to go ahead and have it done tonight? The tech just told me he always needs a few more minutes at your place.” I told them to go ahead and get it done because we need our system. By 10:00 he still hasn’t called. I called the call center again and they couldn’t get the tech. Apparently he really never intended to come to begin with.

    The problem was local. I didn’t know whether Vivint had enough techs or maybe they didn’t have enough. It would have been fine if the tech called and told us to reschedule it for tomorrow. But when I had to schedule with their call center it was another three to four days. My concern is the disrespect that the tech had that he didn’t feel it necessary to even call and let us know he wasn’t going to show up. That was unpardonable for me.

    We've had security systems in the early ‘90s. We've never had a problem like this. But we have a contract with Geek Squad which also came under Best Buy. We're very pleased with them as well. That was another thing that helped us go with Vivint. I'm 83 right now and retired. I was in business for a long time but we never did business like that. The tech needs training and somebody needs to supervise these people and train them on how to take care of customers. But overall I'm happy. It was just that one thing that's not the norm, atleast in the past. And I would still recommend Vivint.

    My interaction with the sales rep went very well. The installation team was very accommodating and they were all great to work with. I purchased a couple of cameras from Vivint, and since I had a security system already, they just tied into a lot of that. Vivint’s system is a little more expensive, and that’s the only thing that I'll take into consideration before recommending it. I know there is a cheaper system out there, but we've been happy with them, and their service has been great, so far.

    We just had one issue with the little command center not connecting properly. The Vivint team came out, fixed that, and explained to me what the issue was. We like the cameras, specifically the doorbell camera. However, when somebody rings the doorbell, there is such a time lapse between getting notified having to pull up the app and go find where you can talk to them if they're gone by the time you get all that figured out. If you get a notification, they ought to have a link where you can go straight to the intercom in the camera, right from the notification. There are also other features that others can have such as the Nest and the Alexa.

They knew exactly what they were talking about and were able to answer all of our questions. I had no hesitations and didn't have to call anybody to get a second opinion. They knew about the service and knew where the people were and when the installation could take effect. There was no high pressure and no fear mongering. They stated what it would do and how it would help and address the concerns that I had. The installation took effect that day and they had it up and running by that evening.     Vivint’s Nest Thermostat doesn’t talk to my box and I have no way to control it other than manually. How much of a smart old feature is that if the only way I can make adjustments to it is to turn the dial myself? I had less work to do with the old programmable thermostat than with this thing. They said that they’ll connect it to my system. But how? It’s not in the manual anywhere and they didn’t do that when they installed it. That was the last I heard from Vivint and they left me hanging. I also have their other stuff like the smoke detector, Carbon Monoxide detector and motion sensor. The system seems to be working okay. I noticed that one of the button pendants doesn’t seem to work though. It did before because it was too sensitive. I just picked the thing up and breathe on it and the thing would trip, then they called through the system. A couple of weeks ago my grandson was over for the night and he grabbed it but nothing happened.

    I got a new garage door opener because the old one was an old analog device and was getting old. Now, I can’t remotely sense the garage door or open and close it from the main panel. So, the system is not all that it has cracked up to be. They told me to try things. I’m supposed to get up on a ladder and fool around with these wires to try different connections to see if I can get this thing working again. I’m a 100% disabled veteran and climbing around on a ladder is a thing of the past. There was no offer to come out and see if they can square that away. There was nothing about getting the Nest thermostat working properly with the system. I can try and fool around with it but, for all I know, I can screw the thing up more than it already is as I’m not a technician.

    A few months back, I wasn’t happy with the position of the camera outside because it was too close to the house and it wasn’t giving a good view coming up the sidewalk up to the deck. So, they repositioned the camera and that has been better service from them. But other things haven’t been addressed. I haven’t been too happy because a couple of things aren’t working right. I’ve been waiting a bit to see if they are going to be proactive and get this system working the way they sold it to me. Vivint needs to understand that not everyone is technically skilled and they need to be more proactive with the older customers to resolve technical issues.

    Door lock operation via the APP or control panel is intermittent. It appears even a slight pressure of the door mechanism on the door jam plate causes the problem. Lubrication may help. I have no instructions for cleaning and/or lubricating the door lock mechanism. Operation is better if I center the door mechanism in the door jam plate opening by adding pressure to close the door tightly.

    We've had our Vivint system for almost two months, and it has messed up in one way or another several times each week. I had to call less than two hours after the install! The installation technician was good, but even he had great difficulty when calling to verify set up. He was on the phone with them for about two hours dealing with the disorganized people. Poor guy had to hand me the phone because Vivint was going to charge us an additional $200! Right from the beginning! My wife really wanted to give the system a shot, so I didn't tell the installation tech to take everything back out and cancel everything. Over the past 6 weeks I've had to call their support team at least twice per week. Most have been helpful, but a few have been rude, even accused me of not knowing how to follow instructions! I worked in electronics/avionics/communications for 11 years! I know how to troubleshoot!

    Furthermore, their phone system has a serious problem... We get cut off! AND once cut off the customer service person can't call back because their system is set up to automatically take the next person in the queue, even though THEIR phone system hung up on us! THAT'S JUST PLAIN STUPID! In our short time with them, THEY made ANOTHER accounting error and charged us an additional $196! Same thing... Call after call... Cut off after cut off. NO ONE EVER CALLS BACK EVEN THOUGH THEY SAY THEY WILL! The main reason we went with them was for the doorbell camera/intercom. It's only 20 feet from the Sky Panel they installed, but after having problems with the video feed not coming up on the Sky Panel and calling again, it was determined that my signal was too weak. (Yes... I was cut off again).

    A technician was scheduled to come evaluate, and he installed a WiFi extender. Problem solved? No. Still takes too long for the video to pop up. I'm leaving out many more painful details about multiple calls with more cut-offs and no callbacks. My newest problem is that the cameras go off-line. I have to reboot the Sky Panel or delete the camera(s) and reinstall them. When I call I usually get someone nice, but they don't seem to know what they're doing. I get instructed to perform certain steps, but they are out of order at times. Even when I question them to be sure, I get politely asked to just follow their instructions. Their system is very vulnerable to the slightest issue causing a failure, INCLUDING THEIR "UPDATES" (AKA patches). No warning... No notification. Unreliable system. NOT recommended.

    I have had Vivint Security since I moved into my new home after October 2016, and I have never been satisfied but worried about the product I've purchased. I have four cameras; which at times one or the other camera never stays running or recording consistently. It seems as if me paying $90 a month for a product, it should work without any problems but it's not! Im getting worried because there have been times the camera reads disconnected to the internet. And alarms have triggered off by themselves!! Every time a technician comes to fix my cameras or panel, they will work while the technicians are here but once they leave the problems continue.

    I'm a single mother with three children and Im more worried than furious about this product. I wish I didnt get this product, the fact it doesn't stay working consistently. Anyone could break into my home or worse and there will be no hope for me or my children. The technicians keep trying to get me to buy more equipment that should have been installed once I got it. It seems too expensive and time-consuming. I wish I could cancel but Im stuck with Vivint for another 3 years! Please help me, I dont know what else to do.

    My grandmother has Vivint and she recommended it to me. Since I am out at school and my mom is left in the house, we also put Vivint at home. We got the doorbell camera and the back door. Plus, we have a back outside camera. We wanted to see our backdoor so that nobody could come up. And the doorbell feature is my favorite.     If someone is looking for a home security service, Vivint is a good service. A friend of mine who knew I had just bought a new home told me about them. All I needed was the home security package but when I got Vivint at that time, the cameras were not yet available so I just took their windows and the doors features. The installation was fine, everything went well. Although one time, I called them because I was out of work for a period of time when I was sick and I didn't have enough money to pay so I got behind on my bills.     I signed up with Vivint because when I got my AT&T internet set up, it was a package to get the Vivint Home Security. But we haven't been very thrilled with Vivint because I don't feel like anything is ever working. Our doorbell and thermostat are constantly offline. And we've had about 10 techs come out and try and fix it. Nobody can get it to work. With the thermostat, we tried and changed the temperature but it would defer back to whatever it was set previously. We had a tech come out to try and fix that. Also, our doorbell has never worked. They'd come and fix it and it would work for 12 hours then it would be offline again, it's offline right now.

    There was about an 18-day period where we didn't have any service at all and nothing was working. We couldn't arm it and in fact, the panel was completely off. We had to call Vivint and get them to come back out. And when I talked to the customer service lady, I said I needed it to be backdated. We were not going to be paying for those 18 days with no service. She said that I should have called right when it stopped working. But it was right around Christmas so I couldn't sit, worry about it, call, be on hold and be transferred because we were going out of town.

    I told her that I couldn't just call every time it went down because it was going down so often. She said that I needed to call in for them to be able to backdate those 18 days. She also said that she could see the day that it went offline, the day that it stopped working. She said she was going to manually backdate it but she would have to let me know if they could reimburse the 18 days. I've never heard back from anybody though.

    My overall experience has been okay but that one moment wasn’t great. Also, whenever they told me to pull the panel off and do all of the little updates, it ended up taking a lot longer for me. It was pulling all the pieces out versus somebody coming in and just doing it. I felt that I really struggled putting it all back together and putting it back on the wall, which was what they generally told me to do when we were having issues. And that's part of the reason why I didn't call back to tell them it wasn't working because I didn't have time to pull the panel off and do all of that stuff.

    Otherwise, they've answered questions and have been fast. The guys who came over and dealt with this system were phenomenal. It was just the actual service itself that was not working. We got the system early November and about a week later, after we had it installed, they emailed me a promotion where all new people get a free Amazon Echo. I thought maybe they'd grandfather me in because I just got it installed four days before and also it hadn't worked since the four days they put it in. Somebody was coming over that day to fix it. I called Vivint and asked if there was any way that I could be grandfathered in their promotion. They said I missed it and there was nothing they could do which was kind of sad.

    We have three doors. Only two were ever installed correctly. Service tech found the problem on unrelated service visit 4 years after the fact. Called the company and we were told it was our fault because we didn't know it was installed incorrectly using the check feature on the control panel.     I was looking for a home security and I was already trying to do with Bay Alarm. But they were overpriced and they didn’t have 1080p for outside cameras unless they were hardwired. When I found Vivint, I did some research and I went to them. I got an outdoor camera and indoor camera, both wireless, and then the doorbell camera.

    The service has been good and the guy that came out did a really good job. The customer service representative has always been helpful as well. When the camera system went down on my phone, they had to reboot it up and they were very helpful. The rep was on the phone with me for quite a while getting someone to work. She was very patient and good. They were very diligent to get this problem fixed. The only issue I had was if I needed somebody to come out, it was going to be over a week. Other than that, Vivint is a good system, it's pretty easy to use, and I've been able to get a response when I needed problems fixed. Plus, we can check into our kids when we’re not home. We’ve been happy with it thus far and I've told a guy that he should look into it.

    I had Brink Security in the house I previously had. But when I moved to this house, they said they couldn't get the cell back up to work on the alarm. I told them that I will get another alarm company that could. Vivint happened to be out in the neighborhood making outdoor sales calls and they did the installation in September '07. Some alarm companies have the things on each window so if somebody broke in a window, the sensor will trigger the alarm. But Vivint has these sensors on the walls that monitor for so many rooms, windows and doors, and that’s good because then I can open up my windows to get fresh air. But I wish they would put the alarm on the security door instead of the wood door. That way I can still leave my wood door open so my dogs can see out or people can see that I have a dog inside of my house.

    The other day my alarm accidentally went off because I had forgotten that I had my alarm on when I went out through my back door. But they didn’t call me immediately. They called my contacts when I should have been first on the list. My friend said someone called her up and just asked if she was me. She didn’t even know who they were. She gave me the number and I knew the number in my head so I knew it was my alarm company. Nonetheless, I recommend Vivint all the time to people. In fact, I tell them all the time when I call them that they need to get back out here and make some more sales calls because we’ve had a lot of crime going on in the city of Memphis.

A little lady showed up to my house to install my cameras and all the other stuff. She had to be 4 foot 2 inches and I couldn’t figure out how she was going to get up.     I wouldn't give Vivint a 1 star except I have to in order to leave a review. My experience was a nightmare. Had a guy come to my house in November and being a stay at home mom to 4 kids I decided to sign up with Vivint. One of the worse mistakes I've ever made. After finding out I was lied to from the beginning I cancelled within the lousy 3 day time period Vivint gives you to cancel. When the tech came out to remove the equipment I was left with holes in my wall and garage and doors. Anyone who's had Vivint come out to remove theirs knows how upsetting that can be. Then the tech informed me that he didnt even know why Vivint even charged me for equipment when what I had in my house from a previous security company would of been compatible with their system and I should of been told that from the start.

    So I called back into Vivint at the beginning of December about signing back up with Vivint. Talked to a account manager named Tristan who quoted me a discounted price to sign back up with Vivint. I was only supposed to pay for a video doorbell and a key lock pad and the price broke down for the length of my contract was 288.81 with a 39.99 monthly service fee. I asked multiple times during that call on that price and I was assured that was it. Well the saying is if it sounds too good to be true then it probably is. The day the tech came out and reinstalled equipment I'm told my stuff isn't compatible and I would have to pay 600 for a panel. I let him know I was not paying for the panel because I didn't agree to that. The tech calls Vivint and they tell him it would be given to me for free. So I said okay.

    Tech gets ready to leave. I ask for the new contract and he said, "Oh I guess they will email it." I was like, "But the first time they installed I signed it that day." Tech still said it would be emailed. December 13th is where the hell started for me. That is when I learned everything Tristan told me to sign back up was a lie. I called in and talked to the bigger most disrespectful guy ever that day. I went over what I was told and explained that I didn't agree to anything extra other than the video doorbell and key lock for 288.81 and monthly service fee or 39.99. This rep then becomes so mean telling me I signed a contract and it's my problem not his. I said, "No I didn't sign a contract." He says, "I'm looking at your signature right now." He tells me that clearly I should start reading paperwork before I sign something.

    Long story short I demanded someone else. He told me if I want someone else email the support department or deal with him. I told this rep to pull the phone calls since they record every call and when I am right what is he going to do about it. He assures me that if what I'm saying is true then he will have to honor that price. He says give him a few hours to pull the logs and he will call me back. Of course he didnt call back because he knew I was right. I called back that same day because I was upset with how he talked to me. That is when I learned my first contract was never cancelled like I was told it was on November 24th. So I made this other account pull the calls while I was on hold I spent 2 hours on the phone while they verified everything I was saying. They verified what I was saying was true even spoke with Tristan and the tech that reinstalled equipment.

    With all that you would think that would of been it they would fix it and send me a new contract with the correct amount. Nope for almost 2 months and 4 calls a week for an hour each call and being told they are working on it and then when I finally get the new contract it's 1200 dollars more than what I agreed to pay. Here i am today and get told that my first contract has to be canceled which should of been done in November 2017. Then I will have to sign back up but won't get anything I was promised. Before I could say anything I'm put on hold and my first contract is cancelled.

    The hell I've been put through the promises I was made on prices just to be told nope ain't happening is a slap in the face. I have already reported this to FTC and the attorney general's office and next will be BBB and I will seek an attorney because what Vivint has done and put me through for almost 2 months is not okay. They are liars and treat their customers like crap and think they can do what they want. Well I wont put up with it any longer and will see to it that this doesn't happen to anyone else.

They took the equipment down, packed them up in the box, came to the house, and then put the new one in. They were on time and they answered my questions. When I had problems with the system, they responded right away, and when they could not fix it through the internet, they showed up to the house when they were supposed to. I could always use it if they lower the monthly fee, and my satisfaction with their service is outstanding.

    I was telling my brother that I had ADT before but he told me that he like Vivint better. So, since he's my relative, I took his word for it. I was under too much stress at that time so I didn’t think of reading the contract thoroughly and realized that it was a five-year contract versus the two-year contract. When I saw it was a five-year contract, I told them that I might be leaving abroad. They told me that I had to show them that I had a leave overseas to be able to get out of the contract. And to move from one place to the other, Vivint charges a fee to move the stuff like the panels and all the stuff. The first guys who initially worked were very professional. They did the work properly. It took them two times to come in to do the second apartment and move the panel from one place to the other.

    But, I'm still having issues with them moving the panel because I cannot get my phone to change the temperature on the panel when I used to be able to do that. When I called Vivint, they told me that they tried to reset it. I like Vivint just not the repair fees and the fact that they can’t get me out of the contract. The first year I had them was great but this year, it hasn't been good and I'm not happy with them at all. Sometimes, I find the customer representatives great. But when I had a problem with the fire alarm in the basement the other day, they told me that I had to pay for it. And when I finally went to all the procedures with her, I told her that the cost of the fire alarm is $59 as compared to $79 per month. And if It’s damaged, they can replace it. It took about half an hour for her to be convinced that the fire alarm was not working.

    I had to buy another fire alarm because it's in an area that's very dangerous. Plus, I didn’t have an alarm until they send me a replacement. If I was an alarm company, I would immediately replace the fire alarm because if there was a fire around the premise of someone that owns the property, then I become liable. It wasn't my responsibility to go out and buy another fire alarm thing for $59 from Home Depot. I'm still waiting for the other fire alarm because that one wasn't working and I had to return that one. I have to put mail to send it back to them. I'm not really pleased with the service. I told them that I'm waiting for my two years up or I go to Europe. When I go to Europe, then they have to cancel the contract and I'll get my own personal system to put up. I can go to Best Buy and buy a whole system and pay $19 a month.

    Vivint is too expensive for what they do and the upgrades are not there because there are people that are giving the same services for less money. They have the Nest which is the new thermostat system but they wanted me to pay $79 and it is more than I would pay at Home Depot to have it put up. So, I said, I’ll just wait for them to be gone then I will have someone put up the Nest for me. Since these alarm companies collect so much money on a monthly basis, they could upgrade. But a customer can go to Best Buy or Home Depot and they can buy a whole home security system and have someone install it and pay the service for $20 that does the same thing. Vivint should be aware of that and be able to do a better service. They shouldn’t be even charging. I would not recommend them and I would tell people to go to Best Buy and get their own equipment.

    I've had Vivint for four years and I paid the full price. The service tech that comes to my house is fantastic, very understanding and compassionate. The sales rep did his job well enough to get me hooked and I signed a four-year contract paying $70 a month. The security system was installed the same day and the installers didn’t leave a lot of mess. On the other hand, the features are neat but it's well overpriced. You'll hear reports that they will offer the service for $30 a month, but you'll pay double for the hardware that's in the house. You will be paying $70 a month for a system that you don't really need.

    Also, there are ongoing intermittent service issues and they have less than adequately trained tech support people on the phone. I've called for the first time and I had issues with them not being able to answer my questions or having to read a manual to walk me through something I could have done myself. In addition, their people at the call center are less than understanding, they are pushy and will try to lock you back into another contract. They don't try to hear what you have to say and they're more worried about getting you re-signed.

I looked on my account and called them to say that I had a bill due today. However, they can't produce an invoice for me to look at the bill. I'm never completely satisfied when I'm getting off the phone after speaking to them since they don't give me a clear answer. I had their service on autopay and they overcharged me $100, and then, it took them over a month to give me my money back. On the other hand, their service is okay and their equipment works fine.     I had this system installed and they cut a hole through my wall, into the garage to plug into an outlet for their sky panel!! A wired plug through a wall!! That breaks fire code. Not only that but now my garage fumes leak into my home! I had a friend point this out to me, I wouldn't have know any better. I asked to cancel everything and have their product removed from my house and I'll repair the walls myself, but they said it would cost me 500+bucks to cancel. They then said I could transfer it to someone else... as if I'd have one of my friends install this!!

    They said they would come in and patch the drywall, not fix the vapor barrier. I can't believe it. Such an awful experience. Do not install this system! The staff on the other end are so rude, the salespeople don't take no for an answer and their product is garbage. I can home automate for less and have the exact same system! Who needs monitoring when my phone can tell me someone broke in?! I can dial 911... Awful service, my house could catch fire. They could care less.

    I haven’t even had this system a month and my house was broken into. I called to file a complaint and was left on hold over a hour. I tried to get out of this contract and Vivint is giving me a hard time. If they swore by their product they would give you more than 3 days to cancel on a 5 yr contract. Most company’s at least give you 14 days. I placed a down payment of 98.99 that Vivint told me I would receive a full refund because They gave me a better offer when I found a better deal with another company. I still haven’t received a refund yet. They try to credit everything. They won’t refund your money. Do not purchase a security system from them!!!

    In the beginning, we had issues with Vivint not coming on time. And when they came, they only hooked the system up and it took them two weeks to hook everything up where it's supposed to be. Then, when they were supposed to come back, they never came back on the date that they were supposed to. They came out eventually but they didn't have the proper appointment I wished they had. So, I had to reschedule again and it was just a big mess. We bought a house and we're going to have the system moved. I'm trying to figure out how we're going to do that and if it's going to be this much of a hassle, we're going to have to go with another security system.

    Their techs came out three different times and every appointment, they sent these guys out here at 4:30-5:00. That's one of the problems I had with them. How can they put cameras up in the door when it gets dark here at that time. So, we had to keep pushing the schedule back. Their technicians are actually okay. It was the customer service on the phone that I had a problem with. But right now, everything is good and their equipment is excellent. I wanted the Vivint brand to be brought in my new house. I love Vivint's system and I love everything that we've added. My new house is bigger, so we are adding new features but if I'm going to go through all of what I went through when we asked them to come to my old house then I don't know if I want to go with them again.

    Vivint is not the cheapest system in the world. At the end of the day, I own the equipment but what does the hardware cost nowadays? There are so many competitors out there. Vivint is either going to get bought or go out of business. It's just playing catch-up but they gotta cash flow the client base to do that. In fact, I’m looking to probably change and the minute I threaten to leave, they’re gonna want to cut me a deal because it's all about recurring fees and cash flow.

    On the other hand, their customer service is very good. The installation guy was very knowledgeable and amenable but here's the problem. He gave me my console and hardware but I sorted those myself. I’ve tested it and that’s done but I’m probably going to have to call them back to configure and hopefully, they won’t charge me for that. The hardware can also be a little more improved. They could have a commercial hardware versus residential because right now they’re doing a one-size-fits-all. Plus, the cameras aren’t necessarily discreet although we can argue that, in of itself, it is a deterrent. I like the fact that their stuff is in the cloud. But in order to differentiate, they got to start getting into the EDP model and offer free hardware. They’ve got to change their business model.

    I called Vivint one time when the panel was acting up. They tried a bunch of stuff at me doing it over the phone, but it didn’t work, so they sent someone out who had to put a new panel in, and that went fine. We have some cameras from Vivint, and we connect on our phones to see when it goes off. But I checked today while I was driving home and the internet wasn’t hooked up again. The panel keeps coming off, and I need to probably call them and have them come again. I got a new phone for our hotspot because I thought the phone was the issue, but it was the charger. I’ve tried hooking up the new phone and it won’t hook up, and I forgot about it because I’ve been extremely busy.

    We have a neighborhood website and a guy put on there that he had Vivint. I was fighting with ADT at the time. So, I fired ADT and got Vivint. The sales rep lives down the street from me and my experience with him was excellent. The Vivint guys came over the day before Thanksgiving, about 4:00, and worked until 9:00 that night. They drilled some holes and ran some wires. They did a whole bunch of work, and they put the panel at the front door. ADT has been here three times and said they couldn't put that panel in the front door. I got a doorbell camera, two cameras, and I got a touchscreen panel at the door, and Vivint is monitoring it. Their service has been excellent and everything's fine. I need a couple more cameras and would get a hold of the guy. I recommend Vivint to everybody that I talk to.

    Our experience with Vivint was not good at all because in the beginning when we first signed up for Vivint, the system was signed up by my sister. We all live together, my sister, my brother-in-law and myself, and when we changed over to Vivint, my sister was the primary person on the account, so she was making the payments from her checking account. Later on down the line, we decided that we wanted to go ahead and I was to take over the alarm system bill and go from there. My brother-in-law was on the system as well and he had decided that we were going to take that responsibility away from him and give it to me as well. I was going to take over the bill so I was changing the passcodes and in order for me to be able to do that, my brother could no longer be the primary as far as changing the code on the system.

    He and I sat down side by side and spoke to a representative who did everything that he was supposed to do, like cancel my brother out as the primary on dealing with the code only and put me on there as I was wanted to take over the bill. I gave them my billing information. We told them to take my sister and my brother off and I was going to be the primary. The rep said that everything was done. My brother was off and I was on the system. My sister was no longer going to be having the money coming out of her account and it was going to come out of mine. It was just supposed to be a simple name change and that’s what the representative told us that that’s what it was and this is what we thought we were doing.

    The representative said because of the fact that I was taking over, I had to get a whole new system and that I’m about to start a whole new contract, and at that time, we didn’t understand why. We weren’t moving or doing anything. And then as time progressed, we moved out of our home into the new home. But before that happened, we sold our home and the new owners agreed that they’re going to take over the account. But later on down the line, they decided not to because the monthly payment was too high so we had a representative come in and take the system. At that time, we had not moved into our new home yet and this happened on February 9th in 2015. We held on to the system until we were able to move it to our new home which wasn’t for at least a month or two later.

    But in the process, I was also called to that the bill was going to be suspended until we were able to get into the new home and have the system back up. Yet we kept getting phone calls about late payment, that the bill wasn’t being paid. I didn’t understand why when they told us it was supposed to be suspended. So now my credit is messed up because of this. I got a 30 days late notice on my credit because of them saying that everything was supposed to have been suspended. After we moved into our new home, I was speaking to another rep in another department and she walked me through all of this and helped me do things that were totally unsatisfactory at that point. I put them on the pay whatever I need to pay to get the situation taken care of.

    Between the time that we moved into the new home and when we got here, I ended up paying three hundred and something dollars for a system that I didn’t have and that wasn’t put into the new home, yet I’m still being billed. I went ahead and just paid it. As I make the payment, I made an appointment for a tech to come out and put the system into the new home. They made an appointment. I’m at home waiting for the tech but there was no tech. Later down into the night after 10 o’clock, there was still no tech and I didn’t get a phone call. I didn’t get anybody saying he won’t be able to make it today. No representative called me and let me know the tech being late or not being able to come at all. Every time I speak to a representative in a negative tone, I would be put on hold for 45 to 60 minutes to an hour and 15 minutes. It was crazy.

    I found out from another rep that that technician was supposed to call me and tell me that he wasn’t going to be able to come and then they’re supposed to put me on top of the list for an installation the very next day. I should have been the first customer on the tech’s list but that didn’t happen so I had to wait another whole week or two for a tech to get out here and put the system in. After that, things haven’t gotten a little work because the system is not working correctly. When we open up our door, the panel is right there but it has a slow response because we’ve been getting these false alarms. Before I can even put in the last number to the phone, the alarm goes off. Now, we’re still dealing with that. When I put my account into my name, they were actually double billing us. They never cancelled my sister’s information for her to be off of it and me on it and I ended up still having to pay over $300.

    I wanted to end this because we were extremely unhappy with Vivint and we wanted to cancel this contract altogether but, of course, we will be threatened with lawsuits and we have to pay a certain amount of money on the existing contract, $1800, which nobody can afford. So now, we’re being held hostage by Vivint. We’re very unsatisfied with this alarm company and I would not even recommend them to my worst enemy.

    I'd been talking about Vivint’s service features for a while and they were having a good promotion so I went ahead. I got the security, thermostat, cameras, the door locks and garage door included in my service package. And I’ve put a lot more of switches and dimmers that were compatible with it. I had an alarm system in my house for eight years before and I turned it on one time when I went on vacation, but when I had Vivint, I use it every day and I love it.

    Also, I really liked Brendan. He was the first guy who came and he was really nice and helpful. And because there were some issues a few days afterward, they came back out for no charge and fixed them. The first installer wasn't able to finish the installation in one day, so the second guy had to come back. The second guy was all right but the first guy was definitely better as his install was cleaner and more meticulous. I’ve told everybody that I like Vivint and I highly recommend it.

    There have been a few problems with my Vivint system. When someone is ringing the doorbell, the system is supposed to let me know on my phone. But sometimes, we don’t get that in my phone or my wife’s. They were going to send the installer out once but something happened and it worked. There have been several occasions since then that we didn’t get it though. But other than that, it’s been good so far. The installer who came out was good too. He talked us through a lot of the stuff. Even if you are paying for a security service already, for a few bucks more, you can have an up-to-date alarm system with Vivint.

    I like the camera and the doorbell features of the service package I got from Vivint. Also the reps that I spoke with were very respectful and courteous. It was a pleasure to have them in the home. They were helpful when I signed up for the service. But I was told when I signed up with my brother referring me, that we both will get $50 discount. I don’t know if that ever went through because I’ve been watching and I haven’t seen the discount come through. I’ve had to call a couple of times because the system became very sensitive but Vivint took care of the problem and it has been fine. I’ve been very pleased with my experience.

    I have only had my Vivint security system for 2-weeks and I've experienced camera offline issues multiple times. The support team kept us on the phone for almost an hour until we just said, "Send a tech over." I can't believe they charge you for having a Tech come out to your house. I'm not happy at all. I can't even recommend the product to anyone. Why would I??

    I have only been a customer for 3 months and have called Vivint well over a dozen times. They keep sending me a loan document to sign that does not list any equipment on the document. When they read me the equipment installed it is incorrect as well. Every call they apologize and tell me I'm correct and new documents will be sent. I either never receive them, or they are the same documents that don't list the equipment. Who signs a legally binding document with a total due and an area of equipment bought with no equipment listed.

    I have tried to escalate the calls but each person gets dumber and dumber. Each call I spend a minimum of 40 minutes on the phone. This is extremely frustrating. Now that the cancellation period has expired they want me to buy out the contract and pay for the equipment in full. I wish I would of stayed with ADT. It's sad I have spent so much time with a company and I may have to look into taking legal actions.

    The Vivint system has been with us for quite some time and so far, we’re very satisfied with their features. As a matter of fact, we just upgraded to the video doorbell and we are just waiting. We are trying to install our storm door before the Vivint reps come out and set it up. Our interactions with their reps were good. We had their technician come out when we were having problems and he said our system was outdated so he went ahead and upgraded everything for us. I really like their service.     My concierge hooked me up with Vivint. The interaction with their sales rep was good and the installer was nice. He did the installation quickly, which took five hours. One of the reps came out one time when one of my sensors wasn’t synced up right and the alarm kept going off. They figured it out and fixed it. Besides their service package, I would like an outdoor camera. The video quality on it doesn’t work too good. I got it for over a year, but sometimes, the light doesn't turn on and doesn't go into night mode, especially around dusk to dawn. I wanted my doors protected including a camera to look at the family room, the living room and the kitchen. Nevertheless, I would tell others that Vivint's system is good and it's reasonably priced based on my payments.
