When the sales representative from Vivint came after I contacted him, he explained all the good information and even showed me on his iPad how a lady is able to get the police if her home was broken in. He then identified what service he's offering that can secure my family. I then asked how much it's going to cost per month and if I'm going to have to continue paying my other service provider because it was 36 months. I thought it was 24 months. From there, we set up their service package that includes additional cameras for the inside, as well as front and back of my residence. While I like the smart features, the problem I was having after all the installation is that the modem that Vivint has tied in kept failing.
Unfortunately, there's nothing they can do until you get back home. So they gave me a service that really doesn't provide all that they said especially since the modem goes out and they didn't know why. They sent another modem that lasted for about a month. It kicked off again while I was out of town. I told them that the WiFi in my residence is still operating and then I asked why can't they do something while I'm away. They may be using a cheaper brand of modem since it is plugged into my modem. That way, they can have a separate line but at the same time, it does not serve its purpose. Maybe they need to set up a satellite, or something like that as a back-up.

Vivint is the only one in the area that offered a decent security package. A family member recommended them, and we've been with them close to five years now. Their service has been fair for the most part, and the techs who came out were good. I like the smartphone application and their system works great but their customer support for a rural area is lacking. Sometimes, they don't accommodate my need as well as I would expect them to.

Avoid Vivint like the plague! I wish I had never opened my door to their salesman. They offer great customer service until they have you locked into a contract, then suddenly great service comes with a price tag of $49 for a tech fee. I’d say I’ve paid for 5+ tech visits and yet the service has probably worked no more than a total of 30 days in the last 18 months. Right now none of it works, but I’m not paying again for a tech to come out and put a Band-Aid on it so it’ll work for a handful of days.

Am happy with Vivint security and I monitoring every movement in my house. Very protected. They usually tells me when the door is left open. They call to make sure everything is okay in the house and no need of sending dispatch to the home if safe.

Not prepared for installation day of appointment. Items to be installed not available at time of installation. Contract paperwork not provided. Appointments set up to complete the installation but failed to show or call and say can’t come due to unforeseen conflicts of appointments.

My cousin had Vivint and I liked it. I've been with them since July. The installers made a hole but weren't able to hook it up from there, and they said that they were going to come back to fix that but they didn't. However, they cleaned up after themselves. My interactions with their reps have been really good. Then when I had a problem with my garage door opener and asked them to send someone over, they tried to charge me and I didn't like that. All in all, I'd recommend Vivint.

We liked how our house was laid out to get the best protection. Vivint's sales rep was very helpful in showing us what would work best with what we have in our house. Also, the installation team explained how everything worked and answered all our questions. Vivint has responded when our smoke alarm has gone off and they have been right on the money. They are there to respond when anything unusual happens and find out if there was a problem or if it was something that was my fault. We have been pleased with Vivit and I would suggest it.

I have some cameras, control panel, smoke detectors, and the doorbell camera from Vivint. Their system is installed in a rental unit so it is more or less for security and protection while we’re not there to see what’s happening. The service has been great so far. A couple of their technicians came out to the house to install the different products and they’ve been extremely knowledgeable.
When buying stuff like this, you're never too sure how it’s going to work or what you need, so the installers were pretty informative and told me what the best package was. They also made sure that it all worked before they left. If there were any issues, I called them directly and they came back if needed. What Vivint is doing is great and they have a good team behind them. I’ve already recommended Vivint to friends. The system is easy to use and it is good with my cell phone and computer. It’s very easy to monitor and chat with their technicians as well.

I have a co-worker who had Vivint and when I was looking out for security system, she said it was really good so I checked it out. I have the doorbell camera, an indoor camera, and a variety of sensors. The installer was wonderful whenever he came by. He was very informative and even gave me some non-security system related security tips since it was my first time living on my own. He gave me some things to watch out for whenever people came to the door and things like that. That was really nice and he went above and beyond. The doorbell camera’s great because it means right wherever I'm in the house, I can answer the door essentially even when I’m not home.
And the indoor camera is really handy because I adopted two dogs this year and they had a lot of separation anxiety when they first got in. I can check on them during the day and talk to them through the camera if I want to. I love the service and it's great. It's always awesome. My animals set off the alarm and whenever I got a phone call, the reps were always very understanding when I say, “Oh, it's probably the dog. It could be a false break." They're always very prompt. If somebody were in my house, I’d know as soon as it happens. Vivint has always been great. They're affordable for a security system as far as they go. And they sent me the criteria for being an excellent security service so that's nice.

I've been with Vivint for 6 months and I'm extremely satisfied with them. My package includes alarm, video and monitoring. Due to the industry I’m in and where I live, I need it. Their sales rep was really great and super knowledgeable. She and her tech did exactly as she said they'd be able to do. The tech, a young man, came within half an hour of us finishing the contract and was done in two hours. He was extremely knowledgeable, efficient, and personable Moreover, he was able to do what our other provider couldn’t. They did a great job and I have referred them to a couple of neighbors.

The service package that I purchased from Vivint has a doorbell camera and I’m very satisfied with it so far. The installation went well and it didn’t take much for the installers because they had most of the stuff already in here. They also explained everything about the product. I had fewer problems with Vivint than I had with other services and I would recommend them.

The Vivint rep that came by was good. It's been a couple of months, but it was cool when we went for his deal. We have the doorbell camera, the garage door opener and the living room camera, and then a standard alarm system. There have been a couple of weird things going on, like the alarm going off in the middle of the night. We had one door set to be ignored because we smoke in the garage. And one night, my mother-in-law went out there and the alarm went off even though it was still set to be ignored, so I was confused. We just troubleshoot it, reset the keypad and hope that it wouldn’t happen again. We like our Vivint system overall and have recommended it to my brother-in-law.

Our interaction with the sales reps was good, and they answered all of our questions. The installation experience at the first house was difficult, and we had a bad reception there. We were getting notifications that someone had rung the doorbell, but before we could do anything, the person was long gone because it had taken so long for the signal to get to our phones. That location had the outside security cameras also. We let Vivint know about the reception problem but they said it has to do with our old house where the signal couldn’t get through the walls. The house was built in 1924, so it was plaster and board.
This is our second service package from Vivint because we have since moved from our first one, and our needs were different. In this location, we have the camera doorbell and the things on the windows and doors that tell you whether they're open or closed. We have more satisfaction with Vivint’s service here in our condo. Vivint security system is much easier in newer homes, and I probably wouldn't recommend it so much for older homes.

I’m very satisfied with Vivint. Their sales reps were fantastic. They knew what they were doing and they didn't try to oversell. The people that did the install took their time and they made sure everybody was happy. There were very few issues too. I called up the customer service tech line and they were more than willing to get my one issue fixed. I spent an hour on the phone and we got it handled. Other than that, the entire system works great and I like that I can kind of peek in and see my house at any time with the cameras. That's a really good feature that we enjoy. People should run out and get Vivint because it'd give them peace of mind when they're not there.

I paid $99 and signed a 5-year contract at $49.99 per month. At the time of signing I was told by the representative that the contract would be cancelled if there were "extenuating circumstances", which was (and is) also stated on their website. Thirteen months into the contract I became divorced and lost all ownership interest in the house the system was installed in and I obviously no longer live there. The divorce was a financial disaster for me and I now live in an apartment. I cannot transfer the alarm system to my apartment and my ex-spouse refuses to take over the contract. Despite all these "extenuating circumstances" Vivint now demands the ENTIRE balance of the contract $2,349.53 to cancel the contract. Be aware that if you sign one of their contracts, they will not release you from it. Even if you lose your house, you are on the hook for the entire balance.

I am very very very much pleased with my system and the experiences I've had with Vivint. Before I got the system, I had never heard of it. From the start, talking with the salesperson Ty. After that if I had problems, all I had to do was call. They ordered a ticket and someone came out. 3 times someone came out for different reasons. All 3 times they were courteous. Well...it takes a lot to frustrate me to the point that I need to do something like this review. I sure hope it helps someone make a knowledgeable decision when considering this technology. We have had Vivint for about 6 months now and I have spent roughly 3 full days...yes. 72 hours on the phone troubleshooting and have taken 4 days off work to meet techs. The whole issue surrounds the cameras and the SpaceMonkey DVR. If the cameras are not offline then the SpaceMonkey gives me an error that video is not available. I am at wits' end with this system and rue the day we signed up. My advice to anyone thinking about Vivint is to steer clear of the cameras or at least ensure you bargain for a longer trial period so you can assess the system. Cheers.

I would first like to say that customer service representative that signed me up was great. Installer was very nice but he didn't have his tools and supplies which irritated me. But he put everything up great and where I wanted. But then I was told to pay something additional which I wasn't too happy about because it caught me off guard. That made me angry. She didn't know why I wasn't informed and she had no clue to why I had to pay anyway. So I was beyond annoyed and wanted to cancel right there.
After the installer left I had to manually add the thermostat and my door lock. But what really got me to the point where I am DISAPPOINTED is that my console was delayed every time I entered my home. I've called tech support and they reset it more than 5 times...and I just got this thing installed less than a month ago. Now for my other rental properties Vivint is NOT my choice.

I am very unhappy with the service! I have had technicians visit our home three times to fix the problem with our cameras and it remains the same. Clips are not recorded and saved with movement, and the customer service I received when I called and spoke with Preston at extension ** was extremely unprofessional. He was rude and did not even attempt to show concern! I signed a two year contract and he is not telling me I am locked in for 3 1/2 years. This is absolutely ridiculous!

I have not been with Vivint long but I like that I can use my app to monitor motion or even if a door is open and how many time of each. If you are away from home and no one should be there then you warning and take appropriate action.

Vivint had a partnership with Best Buy and so I searched online and then signed up with them. The staff from Vivint met with me, they talked me through and told me what my choices were. I interacted with the sales rep from Vivint at Best Buy. He was very energetic and asked a lot of good questions. We tried to do home security before through AT&T and they didn't ask enough questions ahead of time. So, when they got to our house to install it, they found out that our door wasn't the right kind of door for their system. But the sales rep from Vivint took the time to ask about why we wanted a security system. We have a big house but we decided not to get the thermostat. He then explained that we can always add that on later or the smart light bulbs.
We have a doorbell camera, a camera in the garage, a keypad on the front door, a sensor in the front door and a glass break sensors on the sliding glass doors serviced by Vivint. The process was easy and the installation went well. The installer was very professional, he came right on time, worked through it and did a great job. Also, since they partnered with Best Buy, it became affordable as I put it on my Best Buy card and spread it out over 36 months. I would recommend Vivint to others. It's great to have a home security system which is easy to use. It's money well spent and their service is great overall.

The Vivint sales reps have been polite and I got their home security system. I set my alarm off a few times and they called right on it. When the server guy came out, he hooked everything up fast and the job was very professional. When the switch rings the doorbell, it comes on my phone but it doesn’t go through right away. And also whenever I go on my phone to talk to people, they'd be gone. They probably have to upgrade to reset something on my equipment. Other than that, Vivint is great.

We had our kitchen remodeled. eFaucets replaced one sprayer head and then they sent me another one, but the two new sprayer heads are still not working. They do not hold when we turn the water on. The water still comes out of the sprayer where you push the button and we noticed when we push the sprayer down like if we have a tick and spray it there’s water coming in around the part where the hose connects to the faucet sprayer. We noticed that the cord where the cord goes down is leaking so I don’t know if it has something to do with it. I like the faucet if it worked but as far as their customer service, that’s great. They’re very helpful. They had the parts sent out to us within the next days. It didn’t take us long to get the part but we never fixed the issue.

I was already a Vivint customer and somebody knocked on my door regarding Solar. He came here two Thursdays ago and as soon as he left, he already ran my credit, which I didn’t give him permission to do. I’m a member of Equifax, TransUnion and Experia, so all three of them were telling me that Vivint ran my credit and I was upset.
As far as the billing and the service, it hasn’t been smooth. Vivint told me I needed to replace the batteries. I’m taking care of a disabled child so I don’t know anything about that. I don’t want to mess with that thing. I don’t know if I’m even capable of doing that because I would open my panel and I wouldn’t even know where to start. But they promised before that if it ever happened to me, all I had to do was make a phone call and they would help me, but they never did. They also said they were going to charge me $49 for my battery issue. Now when I put the code in the door, it won’t work so I go to the garage rather than the front door. I am very dissatisfied.

I have to be honest, I was very skeptical at first about jumping on board with Vivint. I had interrogated the salesman for a couple hours about everything. He was very patient and kept reassuring me that I would be making a smart decision for my family by going with Vivint. I love the system but had a few problems with installation. It took about a week to fix my doorbell camera after the first tech accidentally cut my wires. Now that it's up and running I love it. It also saves you money with your homeowners insurance.

My mom was really interested in Vivint when we saw it. We talked to the guy at the store. He was very friendly and even used his experiences with it. He said he owns it as well and he loves it. My mom really liked it so I bought the system for her. The package we got has the whole camera doorbell, a door lock, and the back-camera features. We needed them as my grandmother lives with us. My mom has to make sure she has a clear mind and to make sure that my grandmother is okay whenever she goes to work. My grandmother is alone and no one watches her for a couple of hours. Although, I've had a lot of problems with the system lately. Sometimes, the internet goes down and it won't record anything and it doesn't even tell me when someone's at my door. I’ve reached out to Vivint and they fixed it but something will go wrong again even though I tried to do it myself at first to set it how they taught me and still nothing.
At one point, they made the connection to the cord too short, so it ended up breaking. And when they fixed it, it would not even record because we hooked it up wrong. It’s been going on a little bit and it got very irritating. I got it for my mom to make her feel better but it's not even working out the way that we planned. We’re going through a house construction and I plan to get the door lock feature that I wanted the most. It is a lock where everyone can have a code and you can lock people out if they past curfew. That is awesome and it made me laugh because I wanted to mess with my younger brother with that. But since we don’t have the correct door for it, I had to return it.
The first installation team was awesome. He had a trainee with him and they were very nice and very kind. They got the work done very quickly as well. I had the second one but he didn't come at all. That point, I needed to know why it was not recording anything. It would only record four, not even half a day maybe like in the morning and after that nothing. I have reset it and nothing. Vivint sent someone else. Vivint was great at first but then complication came and since I already bought it, I can't even return it anymore. Also, I wish I would get a text message or an email when the system needs to be updated since I usually get it through the app on my phone.

I got the doorbell, fire detection, a lock on the back door with the combination, and glass breakage from Vivint and so far, it’s good although I’m still getting used to it. The installation went well and smoothly. I recommended Vivint to one of my friends and he's thinking about it. He wanted to know exactly what I had and how it worked and we went over the whole thing, just like a salesman.

Vivint came to the neighborhood and they were going through the neighborhood when I signed up. I wanted more modern technology and I like the options they offered. I have the package where I have all the remote access to the house from my phone that I can set my alarm and lock the keypad door. The installation team was very professional and very efficient. I've had this for a year and a half and it was all pleasant. Their response was immediate and everything was good. I am very pleased and I recommend Vivint whenever anybody's looking at my security systems. I’d tell friends all the positive things that I like about it.

A Vivint dude came to my house and for the safety of my house I got the doorbell camera, three other cameras, glass breakage detector, smoke detector and motion detector. I love the system. Before I had a bunch of problems with it but it wasn’t Vivint’s fault. They went out of their way to try to help me. They gave me some boosters and came out to look at the system about three times. Until finally I just called my internet providers and changed services to Cox. And once I changed my internet service from CenturyLink to Cox the Vivint system was great. Vivint is a great peace of mind.

I liked the price of Vivint but they have much more room for improvement. I have six systems for different properties and all six of them are under my phone number. When I get a call from Vivint, I don’t know which property they are talking about. I also have different passwords and it’s hard to make my password the same for most of them. I have a property in Detroit as well as some in Merlin. I tell their reps to pull up my phone number and everything should come up. But it doesn’t as it’s not linked. Every month, I have to explain the same thing over and over again.
When they were taking my payment, they said they had my credit card. Then they told me they didn’t have the credit information which was crazy because I gave it to them the month before. All of them should have been the same. At that point, I told them that something was not right with this whole thing and that I was just frustrated every month calling Vivint or them calling me and telling me they got an alarm activation and I didn't know which property they were talking about. They should be able to tell me what property they were talking about.
Also, when somebody’s talking to them, they need to learn to listen. The other day when a guy was taking my payments, I told him that I knew he was going to show a double payment but I was only paying what was due that time. My payment’s not due until 25th for every month and I was not giving them my money ahead of time. But the guy asked me about four times if I was just saying the one payment. I had to ask if he had been listening to what I discussed. They keep repeating this to me like I'm retarded. I told him that I needed to hurry and do the payment as I only had half an hour lunch break.
It should have been an easy process and that was why I gave him my credit number so that he could just go down my list of properties and go ahead and do it. When I tell them something, that’s what I mean. I don’t deviate from that. And when a customer has multiple properties, Vivint needs to link them all together to make it efficient. I had to give the guy every last account number of my bill when they could have just pulled them up under my name. I don’t recommend Vivint to anybody.

We had a different company and then Vivint bought them out. We have the windows and doors sensors, and an inside alarm. We've always had an alarm system in our house ever since we've been married. We get insurance savings from it too because they give you a substantial cut. The sales reps came by and updated us a couple of times, and they were nice and very efficient. The installers were really nice too and they were well identified when we open our front door. They weren't here that long and they were very efficient in what they came to do. They updated the monitor and they showed us all the new stuff. The service has been really great and we never had any desire to switch.

A Vivint salesperson was in my area and he was very presentable. He told us about everything and wasn’t pushing us, but I was convinced after his presentation and got a package from them. We had our security system already so I got my alarm and the fire. We didn’t have the glass break thingy when we first had to choose and I didn't even know that it existed, but that was good. We have an alarm system in the process but we changed it to Vivint. During the installation, the team who came was very good. The salesperson came too and he waited until the installation team got here. So far, Vivint gives excellent protection and our experience with them was very good.

One of my co-workers before is Vivint’s client. I got a package as well and I’m satisfied with the features but, right now, not so much with the actual product. Originally, I am completely upset that I was totally lied to about the contract. It says 60 months on the contract, we had a discussion, I said I did not want to sign the contract for 60 months because I can pay my car off in less than five years. So we discussed the three-year contract and the rep said that was not a problem, but then it's the five-year contract. Now it's been three years and almost everything I have is going bad. They told me that everything had a lifetime warranty on it. I was never going to have to worry about like battery replacements because if there was ever a battery that needed to be replaced, I'd just call them up and they would send it out to me.
However, when the batteries went out and I called them, they said that's not part of their plan. I have to pay for that myself and dig into the equipment and replace the battery myself too. And then, the cameras are completely malfunctioning all the time. They've had to send me out routers because my system keeps dropping off the internet. They sent out a specific router just for their system and told me not to worry about it. But they didn't bother to tell me that it was going to end up costing money to do that. So I got charged on my bill, and they were like "Oh, they didn't tell you that. So sorry." I’m not really happy. Don't get Vivint.

I liked some of Vivint's features as well as their price. I've been with them for three months and so far, I like it. The installation went well. They were super nice and fast. However, I didn't really understand that they were going to drill a huge hole through my wall. One of the door sensors fell off though and I had to put that back on, but I haven't had any other issues.
I use the app 99% of the time when I get home to shut off the alarm but it fails a lot. It'll say that the Sky channel is not responding a lot and that was probably 100% of why I set off my alarm since I have to go in and shut off the panel but it doesn't give me enough time to go up the stairs and shut it off. I thought I was supposed to have 30 seconds once I open the door to go and shut off the alarm, but I don't have that. As soon as I open my door, the alarms go off. I'd definitely recommend trying Vivint out.

We have a big house and I want to be able to leave my teenagers home and know that they are safe if I want to take a trip. I got a camera, glass break sensors, doorbell, and an extra modem from Vivint. The manager and the other worker were really nice and very professional. But the techs didn’t come prepared when they did the original installation and it took over a month because even though we had everything on the list from what I originally signed up, they didn’t have the supplies when they came to do it.
I’m absolutely not satisfied. My system worked for a couple of weeks and then we started having one problem after another. When I asked them to come out and fix something, I reminded them not to send the dumb guy again because he was aggressively rude. My teenage son was home and I had to take my other child to an appointment. And when I got home, I saw the dumb guy so I asked him to leave, but he refused until I signed the paperwork saying that he had completed the work. I was really upset. He also called somebody at Vivint and said, “Can you send her printed instructions because she’ll forget it as soon as I walk out the front door.” I was standing a foot away from him. When I called Vivint, they said they were sorry, and I got a letter from them saying that they will look into the situation, but then they didn’t see a problem. I have Vivint on three properties and I’ve signed a five year contract so I can’t get out of it. But when it is up, I’m done.

My husband's a prosecutor to the County and he was in the middle of the case. We have a doorbell camera, extra internal camera, sensors on doors, fire alarm, and the glass break from Vivint. The rep had a good level of knowledge of the products and what they offered. The installation team was quick and looked like they knew what they were doing. I've had instances when I'm out of town and someone asked if they could stay at our house. It's nice to see when they were coming and going, so it's good. I'm very satisfied with their service and I'm in the process of putting it into my business. If my friends need an alarm system, I will say that Vivint is everything they need.

When the Vivint reps were doing a promotion, the rep we talked to was well-informed and everything worked out to be the way he said. The installation was fine too. They came in, did quickly and explained everything to us so the follow up was very good too. My experience with Vivint has been fine. I'm going through some camera troubles right now but I'd just have to call and see what's going on with that. The cameras aren’t working and they sent a replacement camera so I'd have to try and hook that up and see.
Other than the camera the service has been fine and we haven’t had any problems since the day we got it. They had changed the panel of the alarm system about two years ago so we have no complaints. At some point we probably need to upgrade the system a bit. Right now our cameras are inside and I point them out the window but I'm thinking an actual outdoor camera may be better. Vivint has dependable service and in this day, it's necessary. They're also supportive in terms of assistance.

We have Vivint's door sensor, window sensor, one camera inside the house, and then three outside. The installation went great. The installer was really helpful with installing the childproof feature. We have three kids and when they go outside, I want to keep an eye on them. However, I wish we don’t have to keep resetting the sensor. The Sky panel turns off the camera at certain areas, so we would have to reboot all the time, and then it works. But out of nowhere, it shuts off the camera. Another thing would be getting the cameras clear, especially if it’s seven o’clock. There has been a burglary in the neighborhood, which we recently had one too in my own house. But we weren’t able to catch them because the camera didn’t clearly catch the license plate or the lady’s clear face. Other than that, I have recommended the system to a couple of my friends and they’ve already gotten it too.

I am satisfied with the service, but total dissatisfied with the salesman. The salesman was Seth **. He lied about everything, from start to finish. If I would have found out about the lies in time, I would have cancelled everything. I have already called and complained about his lies, but I don't see where anything was done. Lots of neighbors complained about his attitude as well.

Our Vivint home security system has been nothing but PROBLEMS! As I sit to write this review, our system is currently 28 days old. Since having it installed, cameras constantly go offline, doorbell doesn't detect visitors at the front door, videos clips don't record so that you can review them later. I have had 3 techs in my house, had the doorbell replaced twice already, spent countless hours on the phone being shuffled from one rep to the other. Finally last night we had enough of the system after finding out there was someone in our backyard with their dog while we were at work. We did not learn of this through the security system we pay for but rather two neighbors that noticed someone HOP our fence. When we called Vivint once again they had no interest in hearing about the matter and the rep on the phone told me that they do not guarantee their equipment!!!
Furthermore, I was notified by this rep that if anything was to happen to either my home or my property and their security system doesn't pick it up, they are not responsible. This also includes if someone breaks into my house, and someone in my family gets hurt. When I told them I wanted a rep out to the house to remove everything from the home, they said we would have to pay the entire loan with Citizens One Bank first before anything could be removed. I asked this rep did they have a call log of how many times we have called in problems or had different techs at our home and I was told they do have a log and that would not change the fact that I would have to pay everything in full. PAY IN FULL FOR WHAT???! Equipment that constantly doesn't work? I have never met a company like them! Absolutely horrible!!!
Not to mention they are not properly trained on how to install cameras. They splice cameras that aren't suppose to be spliced and have no idea how to run cameras to a central location. Needless to say, my brand new home has holes in the walls all over, sensors just thrown wherever and strips of white plastic running down the walls that will take my paint off if you even try to remove it. While on the phone the first time setting up the appointment with a rep, we went into full disclosure of what we were looking for in a home security system. They assured us that they were absolutely number one in smart home security. NOPE! They sold us an Alexa with our package as well. When the rep came here to install the system he didn't have it with him. He needed to call the company, have them remove it off my bill, I had to run out and get one while he was here so that he could pair it with the system.
Problems once again... Never once did they disclose that in order for the Alexa to work that you need Prime with Amazon. We had to order Prime on top of everything else. Then we find out Alexa can only do 2-3 things with the system and it wasn't worth the money. More problems occur with the system and another tech comes out, I tell him what happened with Alexa and he tells me that Vivint stopped selling Alexa 9 months prior to us becoming customers, that's why the other rep didn't have Alexa with him. Well if you stopped selling Alexa 9 months ago, why would you offer it me?! I absolutely hate this company and would NOT recommend them to anyone!!! Save yourself the headache and immediately look into another company that will actually do what you pay them to do, which is protect you, your family and your home.

I was at Best Buy to buy security cameras and Vivint had some guy there who explained everything to me. I liked it. So, I moved forward and got a system from Vivint. I have the door lock and some cameras included in the service package. The quality of the camera could be a lot better and a few things could be tweaked as far as the settings go with cameras like opening up or notifications. I had a professional installer and he did a decent job. He could have done things a little cleaner, but everything was done okay and I'm satisfied with it. I only had one small issue where things went down, but I just rebooted the system and it's been working fine since then. I had a few alerts where they called and when my alarm goes off, they would respond right away. It's a good service, and I've had a good experience with them.

I’m very disappointed in Vivint. Ever since I got it, I've been working to get it fixed. I’ve had Vivint now for about six months and I called them several times. The cameras pixelate sometimes and it's not clear. I call Vivint all the time to come and fix it and they try to do stuff over the phone. They keep telling me to reboot it but it doesn’t fix anything. It’d work for a little bit then it’d stop working. It won’t load anything into my Vivint Drive so I can’t save anything.
I had a technician come out here and he tried to resolve it. He said I was good to go and that it was working. It was doing its thing but then my doorbell stopped working. I get an alert that someone’s at the door, but if I am in San Antonio and somebody comes to my house and tries to deliver a package, I press to talk but I can’t talk to them. They can’t hear me. It was working at first but now, it doesn’t anymore. So I just got tired of it. I made a mistake and I should have gone with ADT. But I’m locked in with Vivint for five years.
Some people would highly recommend Vivint but someone interested in Vivint should do research on the company and the people that are going to come out and do the fix before they begin to install it. Also, Vivint should take care of their customers. I’m a businessman myself and I cannot fathom to leave my customers like they did.

My Vivint system has been installed but the service is down since the house is under construction. The technicians have to come back out to redo the error. I haven’t used the service but my interaction with their sales rep, as well as with their installation team, was okay.

I was doing some work in the house when a Vivint representative came. He was in the neighborhood and stopped by the house while I was outside. My wife wanted a security system and so we decided to try it out because a bunch of my neighbors already had it. Their sales representative was personable and he was very knowledgeable about the product. He walked me down on what they do, how much everything cost, and what system would work best for me. I got the Nest thermostat, the doorbell camera, the motion detector, the glass window break detector, the smoke detector, as well as the Carbon Monoxide detector. I probably got everything except for the Amazon Alexa System because I already have one.
When the installer came, they did everything fast. They were patient and troubleshot everything. They even showed me how everything works. So far, Vivint is a very good system. I like some of its features like the doorbell camera and the Nest thermostat. The system also integrates with the Amazon Alexa System. Overall, I'm satisfied with the service.

It took 7 hours to install a very simple setup. Lot of problems with the pad. Unfortunately the installer who was very personable but not too good at troubleshooting. There has been a lot of confusion with actually getting a time to show up. I heard 3 different times that changed. The installer was put on hold. Sometimes as much as 45 minutes. Now that it is finally complete I am satisfied with the product. Easy to use and understand. So far so good. When I call the company I always get someone new so sometimes have to constantly start over again. Other than this the people that answer are informative but what ones says the next one doesn't seem to know about it.

I have had this service for less than a year. I have had many problems with my cameras and customer "service" gives me instructions to fix the cameras myself. I think the company that got paid and trained should handle that. I am being charged double the advertised price and they won't adjust my bills. (I also had no idea I agreed to 5 years with them. I would never tell a company that I haven't tried before that I will contract for 5 years.) Now my system doesn't work and they want to charge me to have someone come out and take a look at the equipment. So I am locked to almost $4,300 in service fees, after paying a lot in equipment and set up and have no home security cameras. It's SECURITY! Are you kidding me??

A Vivint salesperson came to our door and he was really nice and very helpful. About three months ago–two months before Christmas, I had some issues with the system, and something was wrong with my doorbell camera so I called him, and he told me what he would do and what he could do to fix it, and if that didn’t work, to go ahead and call their office, which I did. But then I kept getting a runaround.
The first guy I got tried a few things, and then he redid my system or set up my new network settings, and reset everything. Then he tried to fix something, which he couldn’t get it, so he said they might have to send a router out or get a new doorbell camera. But none of my stuff has been working. I told him I’m going to be very patient with this because it is the holidays and the guy was like, “Okay, I appreciate it”, and very friendly-like, but then it felt like he ran out of options and hung up on me. I’ve been on the phone with him for 20 to 30 minutes and we just lost connection.
The next guy I got was very helpful and figured everything out. He said the problem is that my internet is not as fast as they need it to be, so they’re going to send another router to get hooked up to my internet router. He sent that out and got it set up for me, and it was taken care of. The issues got taken care of eventually but we’re talking probably a couple of months and we were still paying those months while I was still trying to get the issues taken care of. And every time I called, it was nearly a 26 to 40 minute wait. That’s why I was very dissatisfied.
And we were going to call about our doorbell camera again because now we’re not able to pick up anybody. We’re walking through the doorbell, and it’s not picking up, which it could be something easy, just checking the sensitivity of it, which I thought was set and we did it. I just need to double-check, but if that’s not the case, then I’m unsatisfied again, because now it’s not working again.
The system was great the first four months I had it. We were talking to our friends about it and they all wanted it too. And when they all came around for the holidays, they were like, “How come your thing’s not working?” I told them that maybe it’s just something for the holidays and we’ll call about it. It was no big deal, but it’s just not a good selling point especially that I was trying to get my $50 dollar credit, too. The system is not as fantastic as it used to be. But it's all right. I’ve never had a security system, so I expect bugs and technological difficulties. But if someone came along and offered me a better system, I’d take it.

A few of my friends have Vivint and I even told my daughter to get one as well. So, I also chose Vivint for my security system. Their representatives treated me great. And the technicians were great and installation went great too. My experience with Vivint was pretty good but the only thing that I didn't like was they didn’t tell me ahead of time that I needed to get everything on the first visit. Because if we wanted to add something else, that would cost way too expensive as opposed to having it up front where it wouldn’t cost that much.
Vivint contacted me when the alarm went off because I forgot to turn it off when I went out the door. Everything works well. They have a camera that can see and take a picture when somebody walks up on our porch because I still have people that walk up and can tie like a back to the doorknob. But unless you ring the doorbell, you wouldn't know that. I have the motion sensor on the porch and I talked to a tech and told me to move stuff which I did and the porch is empty now. I've told a couple of friends who came and have seen it. I've shown it to them and they've called.

The two young sales reps were really nice and very knowledgeable. They stayed with me for a long time and we went through everything. The installer came the same day and did a real good job. It's a real good service but my one complaint with Vivint is the cost of the equipment. We couldn't afford everything. So mostly, we wanted to make sure that we were safe from break-ins. We have a doorbell with the camera, windows glass breakage and smoke alarm. We also got the outside camera that picks up everybody that comes toward the door or around the house. Plus we got the connection to our smartphones and we like that feature.
We had fireworks that sounded like arsenal being shot off on New Year's Eve. A next-door neighbor got the big bomb fireworks like something you show on professional display and the wind was rattling so the alarm went off. The response was really fast but I told them that I would call the police myself. We've had false alarms before too and they were always real courteous.

Our home security, Vivint, has been very good for us since we've had it. We can check it from any place. Whenever it goes off, they call us immediately. So, I've had a very good experience with them. Vivint’s team has been back several times to fix problems and they’ve always been here timely. And the people I spoke to treated me good and even answered all questions properly.

We pretty much went along with what Vivint recommended and I'm very pleased with them. We selected the home with six door sensors and each room had the glass break. We had two cameras inside and the thermostat and everything that we had worked to our satisfaction. If there was a problem, they correct it too. They even corrected when we bought a new air-conditioning heating unit that the air-conditioning people could not get it to work with the thermostat properly. The representative that we reached with Vivint walked me through the step by step with the thermostat to reset it so that it did work properly. I was absolutely amazed that they could do that over the phone. The sales representative was fantastic and the installation team was very cooperative. We're thrilled to death with Vivint. I would always recommend them. They may be a little more expensive but you get what you pay for.

To be fair you must understand that at my age, I have seen it all, but this was different. I got a call from your watchdog less than 24 hours after my system was installed. According to the call I had a low battery. Really? It seemed to work fine the day before. Then the most aggravating aspect was that the installer left saw dust everywhere he drilled. I asked about it and he said that wasn't his job. I have never had any kind of installation or service in any of the places I have ever lived that left the scraps on my floor... not the phone people, carpet installers, not washer and dryer installers, not the painters, not anyone ever who has refused to to suck up the saw dust from several locations in my brand new home. Plus he didn't arrive with a vehicle marked as an identifying feature and no ID. I was hesitant to even let him in except that I initiated the call.
I love the fact that I can arm/disarm with a swipe of my finger. Best feature so far. It takes me such a long time to look up the icon on my phone, (it is orange so it helps) and so long to get to the picture, I am afraid that whoever is ringing my bell, will go away. Also he had to change the lock on my front door and didn't fully explain how to assign numbers for me and my cleaning lady for example. AND the new lock was a different size so my door needs to be restained to match the surrounding wood. He didn't even tell me about that in advance.

I love what I have, but we are still waiting for a camera and the new thermostats to regulate our heat better. We were told it would be about a week and it has almost been a month. The system is very easy to use and I love that you can see who is at your door before you answer.

In the beginning, I felt right with Vivint, but later on, I didn't like it. They went door by door and talked me into getting this and that. I then ended up paying more than what they threw at me. The young guy said that it was going to cost me $45 for less than 36 months, however it turned out to be more than 40 months. I got the package with the smart lock and they gave me one camera.
Then about two months ago, I moved and I called Vivint to see what I had to change to my new residence. They told me that they had to take the lock and put it in the new house. I told them that the lock is all rusted. I was told there was nothing I can do and I'm going to have to pay $100 to hook it up back again. At this point, I still have 10 months left to pay.
Vivint's people were kind and offered me the world. When I put my signature, even though I tried to read everything and I felt okay, it is still not what it is. Now I'm in a new home and I have had three gentlemen who came from Vivint. I just told them, "I'm sorry. This happened." They said that they'll give me up to $2,000 if I close with them. However, the reality is nobody gives you anything for free. I'm still using Vivint at my old house since it is for sale. But I don't see why I had to pay when I've been with them for over two years and given the circumstances of moving. Instead of trying to keep me, they don't.

Vivint is not real worried about me or my 2 small children in our 22 degree home. Just got the call. A technician wasn’t coming tomorrow. Another night without heat. Unbelievable.

Vivint has good equipment and customer service. We got their indoor, outdoor, and doorbell cameras, a glass-break sensor, motion sensors upstairs and downstairs, and sensors on all the doors. I did not like the lack of information with the sales guy over the phone. I did very much appreciate the information given by the guy that installed everything. The installation guy really helped me understand the pricing and what would be expected of me and terms of the contract. The guy over the phone who scheduled the installation did not give me any information and it seemed like he would have sold me everything and anything. If it was necessity or not. I would suggest that there be given more information over the phone to determine exactly what might be needed and how the terms of the contract would work. Knowing this might leave people less irritated and more informed about the length of the contract needed.

We have had Vivint for over two years now, the first year was great (besides them installing gold locks when we asked for bronze, which in two years of complaints, they have still not been out to switch). No problems, whatsoever. But then we started having issues, cameras were going down and we were unable to watch live stream (if they were even functioning at all). The keypads are constantly going in and out of service. When we did receive tech support it showed our camera had a problem, they sent us a new camera...which stopped working within weeks. Regardless of how many times I call, I receive no service techs.
I am beyond done dealing with them, especially for such a high cost per month when compared to other companies. I cancelled today and explained all the problems, but they were more concerned with trying to convince me to stay with them. Not only that, but even after explaining that for almost a year my service has been in and out and half my equipment won't work properly, they still refused to cancel my account until I paid them 8 additional months of service. Overall, poor customer service, unreliable equipment, weak tech support, and very costly with less services offered than competitors.

The salesperson that I spoke with on the phone, Audrey **, was phenomenal. The first service tech, Vonzavious **), that came out made several errors that had to be corrected. He left about three extra feet of cord under my sofa. The doorbell to the outlet wire was not stapled to the baseboard. He did not fill any of the holes he drilled, leaving a nickel sized hole in my siding and another hole at the doorbell. The backyard camera was sideways and effectively worthless. I attempted to adjust the camera myself, but it was impossible due to the way it was installed. The cord from the backyard camera was loose, sloppy, and extended approximately 15 ft. He attempted to sweep up the drywall from the panel install with my personal equipment and did a lackluster job. He did not attempt to clean up the drywall from the backyard camera wire coming in. He requested that I throw away all of his trash. No yard sign or window cling was given.
Later in the day, my dog coughed up a piece of the wire used in the install as well as a piece of film. He also did not install the glass break detectors (one of which is in my child's nursery) correctly. Neither was connected to the system. The nursery glass break was loosely installed and could be spun around on the wall. The living room glass detector was broken on install. I was trying to learn what was being installed in my home and Vonzavious put his wireless headphones in so I just felt like a nuisance asking questions. The Operations Manager, Jamison **, performed a miracle cleaning up the mess that Vonzavious made. Jamison took time to see what my concerns were, and consulted with me about what I both wanted and needed.
I really wish my first experience had just been between Audrey and Jamison, as they provided nothing less than excellent customer service, and integrity. As this is my first home security system, I was not sure what to expect, but when I spoke with the friend that referred me to Vivint, I knew that something was not correct with what my wife and I received.

Yet again Vivint dispatches emergency services when they know they are not needed. This is probably the third time this has happened if not the fourth in the two years that we have been with Vivint. I had put dinner in the oven and left home leaving my adult son at home. I'd only been gone a few minutes when he called me on his cell to tell me that the oven was smoking. I told him to turn the oven off (it was burnt on food smoking), turn on the fan and open the windows. I told him how to turn off the smoke alarm and to wait by the panel because Vivint will be calling through and he needed to give his name, verbal password and tell them it is a false alarm otherwise they'll dispatch the emergency services. I heard the fire alarm go off, he disarm it and then the panel beep and listened while he talked to Vivint and told them it was a false alarm.
The smoke alarm went off again, obviously as there was still smoke in the house - why Vivint didn't just disarm it once they knew it was a false alarm and the oven was smoking I don't know. I mean common sense would dictate that if your house is on fire the last thing you are going to do is get a chair, climb onto it and turn off the smoke detector - if there's a fire alarm you're gonna get the hell out of the house. My son disarmed the smoke detector again, no other ring through from Vivint from the panel. My son finished talking to me on the phone. I left my car for literally 30 seconds on which Vivint rang through to my cell, I called them back immediately but their not so fantastic system has you ring through a series of options before it puts you on hold, they also rang through to my husband’s cell, same thing - he missed the call but called back immediately.
After five minutes I got through to someone and the first thing I said was, “There was a false alarm at my house. I'm just calling back to check if everything is okay because you just called me even though you've already spoke to my son on the home panel who told you it was a false alarm.” With no urgency whatsoever she goes through my name, several phone numbers and address. A fire truck comes blazing past me (I was in my car heading back to my community), I say to her, “I really hope that fire truck that just went passed isn't going to my house.” She says, “I'll just check and cancel the dispatch.” She had told me that when she spoke to my son the panel cut out, but I was on the phone and it hadn't cut out at that point, it cut out when the second alarm went off. So as far as I'm aware, no dispatch has been sent because they had spoken to my son through the panel, I was just calling them back as courtesy.
I now watch as the fire truck turns down my street. A few minutes later my husband calls and tells me he was on the phone with Vivint and they told him that they had sent a fire truck and the reason was that a second alarm had gone off even though they'd already spoken to my son after the first alarm (two different versions) and they couldn’t get through on the home panel obviously because their panel is faulty - their fault. So - even though they had already spoken to my son seconds ago who explained it was a false alarm and just the oven smoking, because the smoke alarm went off again a minute later (due to a smoky kitchen which was already explained) they decided to ignore the communications that they just had with the person in the building because they can't reach him through THEIR faulty panel and dispatch the emergency services.
So now we have to pay out $300 for their error. And as I say this isn't the first time, we've had two police visits $80 each. Both times Vivint's fault and you call them and speak to someone and they do NOTHING, they are making hand over fist on these security services and when they mess up, guess who'll be paying? Not them. What's really nice is they even email you a transcript of the order of events, although that's not always accurate - the transcript only logs one phone call rather than the two made - what it does show though, is the connection through the panel, the false alarm noted and then the dispatch sent - er, hello?
You send a dispatch after a false alarm? It's even in black and white and I bet they will deny it still and refuse to waive the $300 fee. Do not sign up with this company - they are a nightmare, their equipment only works half the time, my heating and cooling system has never been the same since we switched and customer service is a joke.

Have been trying to activate my alarm system for three weeks! The equipment was already installed in the home I purchased and this is the only reason for choosing this company. Our first two appointments nobody showed up & no one even bothered to call. They expressed the activation panel team was out sick for each day, for two days. Then I began to get emails with short notices that workers were heading to my house. Just like before; nobody showed up! The caller hold time is greater than 45min, and then they have to place customers on hold again to speak with the activation panel team in another area. Since this team has a limited staff, try imagining that hold time. Everyone of their agents claimed to be a supervisor so escalating the call is a joke. At this point I would rather have agents that speak limited English because this so called customer service is a joke! Would rate this company a negative 10 if the system would let me.

The stuff that came with Vivint's package like the door opener and the access from my phone to set up the alarm was what sold me on it. Their customer service was awesome and great too. I'm very satisfied with my experience and I feel much better now having a security system. However, decreasing their monthly rate would be the only thing that would make me happier. But so far, they’ve worked with us and I had an excellent experience, overall.

My daughter was involved with a company and Vivint was one of the products that they had and so we signed up primarily because it would help out my daughter. The installer was very professional and explained everything to us. The installation was not like the old days of running wires. It was all straightforward, and he was in and out in two hours. He showed us how to use everything once it was installed and when he left, we knew how to use everything. But if we had to do it all over again, I would not be putting in a motion sensor since we never use that. We have two dogs and it would not be safe to have them walking around and kicking off the alarm then we’d wake up every night. But it's not anybody’s fault. It was our decision.
Vivint's service is excellent. We’ve had a couple of instances when we forgot to turn the alarm off and we let the dogs out. Literally two seconds later, we got a call through the panel from Vivint making sure everything was okay. Their system makes my wife feel much more secure especially if I’m traveling for business and she’s alone. She likes that additional security having the remote door lock. The capability to turn lights on and stuff like that when we’re out is also something that we like. Overall, the experience has been very positive and we’re happy with it. I have recommended Vivint to people and it’s certainly something that anyone who has concerns about their home protection would benefit from.

I am homeowner and I don't live there so, I've ordered Vivint about 2 years ago, they didn't come for installation several time and have wasted my time at that time. Well, when they installed they broke my central a/c and heating system and they couldn't fix it. Vivint let me fix with private company and they would reimburse the money and I fix air conditioner only at that time because it was very hot summer. After that Vivint never worked and have called them to fix so many times and they just transfer the phone here and there and I wasted my time.
They said I cannot cancel because it's been a month after sign the contract! (The installer came to my place almost last min of deadline to cancelation, that means nobody can cancel Vivint). When I contact them to fix Vivint things, all the Vivint staff members were keep changing! So I have to explain again and again. I wrote a letter to CEO promise on and on and on but, assistant never fix the problem and they never want to solve the problem! I have super credit and I don't want to lose my credit to stop payment so they are charging me every month for nothing! I am so sick of doing this kind of complain and Do just fix and charge properly. I spent a lot of money on fixing my central a/c and heating already and Vivint is not working at all and Vivint keep taking money every month. What do I have to do now??? Please let me know!!

We purchased our Vivint system in May of 2016. Included was an outdoor camera that we are supposed to be able to review clips or even an entire length of video feed. That worked up until around August of 2017. For some reason we can only look at the live feed now. I understand that things break down, however, I've made at least two calls and gone through an hour long trouble-shooting chat session and the problem has not been fixed. Frankly, for the amount I am spending per month, I am very disappointed with their support. Based on my experience, I would forgo the Vivint "experience" and do my own system.

Vivint's reps were great and very professional. They knew their product and exactly what they were doing. And when I asked them questions, they would answer to my satisfaction. We selected the product because we felt that it would do what it said it was going to do, block out the sun and keep the heat and air in. So far, so good. But the batteries gave out on the back lock and I just don't like it. Also, I would like for someone to come out and redirect me on exactly how to work the system. They showed me and my husband during installation but I was busy trying to do other things where I didn’t get it all as far as how to activate it.

My wife through a business group had met a fellow that worked for Vivint, and so when we had some problems with our old system, we were looking in other options and they came out, talked to us and had a good option, so we went with it. Generally, I'm satisfied with their system. We have had a little trouble a couple times with it but it got resolved. The people I’ve talked to on the phone were helpful and the service people have always done a good job. I tried to set the alarm when they were doing an update which they didn’t notify us about, and it looked like the unit was broken. It locked up and I had to go through an elaborate shutdown and then reprogram after that. I wouldn’t want to do that again. So far, it has been a good experience and I would tell other people that Vivint is an option to look at.

The service I had previously was available through the phone and it did what I needed it to do but Vivint’s service was a bit cheaper and I like their online service. Vivint’s sales reps were very professional and any time I had a question they were able to answer it. The original installation went as expected and the guy got it taken care of. Also Vivint’s service was prompt. I had one system issue and they got out and repaired it quickly for me.

Summary of Events: Original (3rd party) installer came and was missing several hardware items from what I ordered. A second visit was set up a week later with same installer to finish work. 2nd installation day the installer could not get my existing glass break sensors to work and said a more experienced tech would need to come out. Also, the tech failed to install 2 wall touchpad and a fire detector. Over the week period my cameras had mostly not been working, consistently dropping off line. I was told my internet upload speed needed to be improved. So, I upgraded my internet accordingly and am now getting 30 MBPS upload vice the 6 MBPS I was previously getting. This did not fix my camera issues. All cameras still consistently drop off line and occasionally come back. The tech was very much in a rush to leave and did not receive any explanation on the system. Also, he forgot to install 2 of 3 touchpad.
On the 3rd visit (Vivint tech) informed me that the only fix for the cameras was to swap them with a different camera that has power over ethernet capability. He said the original 3rd party installer should have never installed the cameras he did with the signal strength as low as it was at the camera locations. He said the 3rd party installer should have just referred the job over to Vivint. I was unaware Vivint even used 3rd party installers as I specifically asked about this when I was considering switching and was specifically told Vivint only uses Vivint installers. Also, on this visit the Vivint tech could not get my glass break sensors to work and I would have to purchase Vivint glass break sensors.
If I knew there was a possibility Vivint could not take over my glass break sensors and I would have to purchase, I likely would have just upgraded my system with ADT. Now waiting for my 4th visit where the new cameras, glass break sensors and 2 touch pads to be installed. I'm hoping everything will be good at this point but am skeptical based on everything that has happened so far.

Vivint's service has been great. I’m able to use my system through the mobile app and I get updates on my phone when I’m away from home like if something’s been opened there. I also get a lot of alerts with the battery sign. It seems like they’re not connecting, but I got to use this because I've had it for a while now. I've also had to replace batteries on all of my sensors recently. All in all, I'm very happy with my experience.

We have an unattached garage so we've got quite a long walk from the house into the garage. When I set the alarm I'm always afraid that we're going to get caught and the alarm will go off before we get back out there so we've had to use our front door because it's closer. My husband drives around to the front and picks me up after I set the alarm. Maybe we should have the alarm set for a longer time. But the system is easy to use and the girl that installed it was really good and we would recommend Vivint.

I talked to a lady over the phone stating that I only free after 7.30 pm every day for technician to come and check at my business. She said that the technician free until 8 pm but why can’t he come at 7.30 pm? And she keeps arguing with me and such... We are having a service with Vivint over 22 months now and have never call them and yeah the first time calling them bam! Bad experience. The representative refused to work things out with us. There are so many company that we can seriously use and have a better customer service. I don’t think I want to recommend Vivint to my others business friends anymore after this terrible conversation with Vivint customer service.

Our system went down in July 2017. We tried to get technician out. Every technician that scheduled cancelled or did not show. We stopped trying out of hassle; we couldn't get a response. We received calls multiple times when we stopped paying, were transferred to the service department and the call would either disconnect or the line would ring with no end. Finally, 6 months later I was able to get through to the customer loyalty department. I was told a technician would come out next day and to call when he had completed the job and they would issue a "downtime bill credit." Technician showed, he did a good job, said first technician installed improperly and he rewired things.
He asked if we would like the second camera installed, however the first technician told us he couldn't install it so it was taken off our account months ago, we told him no. Well I called next day spent over an hour on the phone. Apparently I was lied to and there is no such thing as a downtime credit. The customer service lady laughed at me and told me it was "ironic" how things took so long. I demanded a manager. I was told that there is a contract in place that I have to pay whether or not the service is working, and indeed the customer loyalty department cannot promise downtime credits. This has been the worst experience with a company that I have had and hands down will cancel when my contract is up. Highly do not recommend.

Bought a home. Had system installed the day I received keys, paid in full including 13 additional window sensors, all stopped working within a few hours. Couldn't get help until I said cancel, 10 days before a tech came back put in new system less than 12 hours not working, alarm went off, no one home. Sheriff dispatched, got home 11 pm. Called. Spent 45 minutes on phone. Tech had me take apart panel twice. Not resolved tamper screen stayed and sensors not active, requested tech again for cancellation/removal, he came to "fix", called customer loyalty and got removed on 1/10/18. Confirmed full refund $864 and still waiting for refund and email!
They didn't leave my old doorbell. Only the old system so I had him call back to confirm leaving doorbell so there wasn't a hole in front of my house like in entry and family room. I haven't heard back from anyone yet! I tried several times by phone and email, disconnected on 2 calls 1/8 and no response from Toni ** since 12/30/17! So please send my refund!! I was within 3 days cancelation period and received verbal confirmations with manager Ariel with tech present Willie **! Terrible experience, terrible system X 2. Brand new systems, the worst service!

Purchased Vivint approx. 3 months ago. Camera's offline. Trouble every week sometimes daily with cameras going offline. Techs from Vivint have been at my house at least over 12 times to fix problem. A tech was here 1/9/2018. I thought he fixed it but 3 hours later offline again. Another tech is coming here on Tuesday Jan. 16th 2018 again for same problem. If at that time he cannot solve the problem, then I want the Vivint system removed and my money back! Fair enough!

I use Vivint for safety precautions and I'd recommend them. I got their service package that includes the glass break, door opening sensors, the cameras, and the doorbell. The sales representative was really nice and the installer did great. The service has been good so far, but sometimes the camera is offline then comes back on. Other than that, it's neat to be able to look inside my home when I'm not there.

We’ve had a couple of other home security companies, but we like Vivint the best due to its smart features. We like the idea that it’s satellite and that nobody can cut off the service. Their sales reps have always been good and we've been very happy with the installation. We lock it up when we leave and my husband has the phone so he can unlock it just as we arrive. Sometimes, we’ve opened the door before we took it off, which we shouldn’t have, but they were right on the job and called immediately. Vivint's system makes us feel safe and that the house is in good hands when we leave. They’ve always called us if the alarm goes off. Overall, our experience with them was excellent.

Faulty garage door sensors caused several false alarms with Police and fines for calls. Vivint’s response was that false alarms are not their responsibility. Spent a lot of time on phone hoping for compensation, but to no avail... Poor customer service!!!

I tried ADT for 3 days before Vivint. ADT has promised me so many things before signing up and all of them turned to be a lie once they installed the equipment. Then, I approached Vivint. The trade was fair and transparent. So far, the service has been great.

After much headache in my dealings with Vivint and finding that negative reviews for Vivint were being hidden through website strategies, I decided to provide our experience. Without further ado, since purchasing the system in June 2017 we have had nothing but problems. If you are thinking of getting this system, BEWARE!!! We purchased most of what they offered as I wanted to ensure complete monitoring and safety of my home and family. This included the items to include a carbon monoxide monitor, smoke alarm monitor, door and window sensors, and glass break sensor and installed the phone app to monitor remotely. Immediately, we noticed a problem with the front doorbell camera. When the system would alert us (via the phone app) after someone had rang the Vivint doorbell camera, the alert on the app would pop-up but the app wouldn’t open to the screen to see who was at the front door.
Ultimately, by the time the app did open the person would be gone. In addition, if the person stayed long enough at the door the system would not allow you to speak with him/her. The indoor ping camera, which has a two-way communication and operates similarly to the doorbell camera, would and still does go offline repeatedly and does not function as described. The cameras in this system continue to sporadically go offline and fail to record repeatedly. I have been up and down my ladder, crawled out of our house windows and been in my attic to correct this unreliable system enough that I should be considered a Vivint technician. I have repeatedly spoken with their technicians and have come to the conclusion that if it’s not written on their troubleshooting checklist or cannot be solved by performing an unplug/re-insert protocol they are unintelligible.
Their techs have sent in-house repeaters via the mail to correct a problem, attempted to charge me for the item being sent to correct their deficiency, just to have a field technician come later and take it away; saying it’s not needed. I was even told by a Vivint field technician that our home would require a second panel (which he would order) due to the amount of security items we had within our system and the one panel installed by Vivint would not be enough. Ultimately, the panel never came. I have been told by Vivint field techs that my WiFi system was inadequate, to which I had a ping test ran and the routers replaced which made no change.
This system is beyond faulty, so much so, that I wanted it removed from my home as the cost per month is not worth the headache. After two hours on the phone, being bounced through the Vivint chain of command, I was finally told by a corporate representative we could have Vivint remove their system from our home after I paid them $2500 for the equipment (EQUIPMENT THAT IS UNRELIABLE)!!! If able I would give them no stars; I pray that this information finds you before they do.

The whole process of initiating our alarm sysem took a month, the update of the software took 50 min and by the end of it the technician left for home without telling me that he left. Firstly they did not tell that the appointment was messaging, that took longer because of the typing. They then called me and told that a tech would have to come to my home and we made an appointment, 5 min later they called back and cancelled... They then said we need an appointment to complete the install which I was stood up!! I then called them for another appointment after Christmas and we finally completed the activation.

I got the camera and sensor from Vivint for security, and so far, the video quality and service are good. However, we had an awful experience once the first guy installed the system. They didn’t put all the equipment that was needed and the cameras weren’t working, so Vivint had to send representatives two or three times to redo everything and get the issue corrected. Nonetheless, my overall experience has been good.

From what I saw online I really liked all the stuff that Vivint offered and there were good reviews too. So far I'm loving it. I got their security cameras and little alarms on every window. I’m young and I live alone so it’s really nice to have that peace of mind that I will know immediately if there’s something going on at my house while I’m gone. I also like the fact that I can set other people up through the Vivint app to where they can unlock or lock my house. I’m super satisfied with it. Plus the installer was fantastic, very personable and really easy to talk with. He also offered to help anytime that I had an issue. He gave me his personal phone number and he seemed super knowledgeable about what he was doing. I have recommended them to someone on Facebook the other day.

The Vivint product is terrific. They were able to integrate with the hardwired system that was existing in my home which made installation easy and all of my windows and doors are covered. Being able to use my Google Home and Nest with Vivint is also a big plus. I will be adding additional connected products in the future such as lighting and another door lock.

I was excited about getting this system but unfortunately it hasn’t worked once, not even on install day. I always have cameras down or a thermostat dropping or the sky panel screen locking up. I have had 4 techs out since install day which was 12/23/17 plus a 45 min call with Vivint. It’s frustrating have different techs come out each time so you have to reexplain yourself. Then some don’t seem like they want to put in effort to truly resolve because it would be too time consuming to replace the panel etc... (They get paid by jobs completed.)
Also one tech said, "We are scheduling for your panel to be replaced as well as the doorbell" and the when the next guy came he didn’t do any of that- he just did more of the same as others- I still don’t have a working system. Oh and now I’ve been overcharged waiting on a refund. I will be pulling my contract to see how They are in breach since I have never had a fully functional system for a single day. I think I could charge Vivint for how much time that has been taken from me with techs here.

I have attempted to find a resolution with Vivint for over a year following a frightening experience with my son during an alarm. In December of 2016, while I was out of town, I received a call in the early morning - between 430-500am notifying me of an alarm at my home and no answer over the panel. Not knowing if the alarm was an actual emergency, I requested the Vivint rep to have the police respond as my 18 year old son was in the home. As she called for the police, I was able to make contact with my son. He was frightened and unsure if there was someone in the home. I told him to stay in the house and to stay safe. The Vivint rep then called me back to inform me police were responding. I informed her I made contact with my son and informed him to stay in a safe place in the home, and wait for police to make contact with him.
After waiting for what seemed like forever and not receiving any more updates from Vivint, I decided to view the driveway from the doorbell camera. At that time, I saw my son on our front steps, being detained in handcuffs. I called his phone which an officer answered. After verifying my son's identity and having him unhandcuffed, the police officer was noticeably upset. The police had not been informed during the call to respond that someone was in the home and they were on heightened alert because it appeared my door had been damaged from the outside. During this time, I received a call from the same Vivint rep, informing me a male suspect was in custody. I reminded her that my son had been in the home, and he was the one being detained. She apologized for the 'inconvenience'. Upon arriving home that evening, my son went over the details of what occurred.
He said he watched the police activity from our living room, leaving the lights off because he wasn't sure exactly what was happening, but at that point felt it was likely no one was IN the home. When police never made contact with him, he decided to open the side door. Immediately upon opening the door, police came around the corner, guns drawn, and detained him with handcuffs. Of course, I called customer service that evening to voice my concerns with how the situation was handled and to determine what went wrong. Within two days, I received an email back from a Customer resolutions rep, stating the tapes had been reviewed and she provided a brief summary of the calls, with important details being omitted. She also acknowledged standard policy had NOT been followed and that the person handling the alarm call was 're-trained'.
Since that time, I've made numerous attempts, both via phone and email, to have my contract ended. Each time, I'm given empty promises of having the complaint reviewed by the proper personnel and would receive return calls. Recently, I was prepared to file a complaint with the BBB, but read a paragraph requesting an email be sent to the legal dept of Vivint prior to filing a complaint. I figured one last ditch effort to resolve the issue between myself and Vivint without outside involvement would be of benefit to all parties. I emailed the legal department with a recap of the event and copies of all previous emails. The response I received? Please contact a customer resolution specialist regarding your complaint. I informed him in response that I had attempted that numerous times. Have not yet received an email in return.
Long story short - my son was placed in a stressful and potentially dangerous situation because vital information was not provided to responding officers. All I've asked is to be free and clear from the contract with no financial burden placed on me. I was at one point told that I didn't have a basis for my complaint because essentially the company did what it's intended to do, and initiated police response. My counter argument that the company did not perform services expected by a consumer of a security/alarm company when critical and vital information wasn't even relayed to responders was ignored. And I won't even begin to start the complaint on the install process and incompetent technicians who were at my house for 5 hours (almost until 1am) installing the equipment.

When I first had a security system installed, I was with a different company at that time. And when I wanted to have the alarm active with the paid response and everything set up, I did a little internet search to see who had the most current system alarm out there. At that time, Vivint had the most up-to-date tech that they were installing on their alarm systems. I called in and spoke with somebody over the phone and we scheduled the installation. I researched online and checked out Vivint's site so I already knew what I wanted and the expected amount to pay them. I have the main control pad at the door with the audio feature and then I have the door sensors on all my exterior doors and the garage door. And then I have a motion sensor in the front entry. Those were basically what I had with my old alarm system. We just replaced them with Vivint’s equipment. The system has been fine for what we’ve needed to be done.
During installation, two guys come out and they were done in an afternoon. One of them, after they had it all installed, explained where everything was located, and then walked me through activating the system, how to arm it and disarm it and changing the settings. Then they left the package. The instruction book came with an instructional DVD and there was also the online tutorial. Since then, I had to upgrade the cell card in the unit which they may hold out to me with the instructions on how to do that myself. It did take a couple of tries though. For some reason, I didn’t get it pushed all the way onto the pins. I had to take a couple of steps out of it to get it in there but eventually, we did get it working.
I’ve been pretty happy with the service and I haven’t had anybody attempt to break in. As a matter of fact, we did have a stretch where my wife and I were both unemployed. And when I called in to drop the service to save some money, they offered to forego any payments until we had located new employment so, I appreciated that. I recently renewed for two years. I’m paying $58 a month at this point for the service and I would always be interested in saving some money.

A couple of people in the neighborhood had Vivint and they were satisfied, so I decided to take them on. I like all the features, but I had a problem with my system. I had a doorbell installed and they asked what they could offer me. I told them I needed a shed alarm put on and they had the jump sensor that relays the message. After they left with the alarm put in, my system didn't work right and I couldn't program my thermostat. I couldn't keep it on heat or cold and it was horrible. It took four visits of people coming here trying to fix the situation, but they did the wrong thing that it was so frustrating. There was a technician that instructs the other guys and I told him that they need a regional office in the area where people can go every four months and get trained on new things.
Vivint’s people are ill-trained. I was talking to a friend who got Vivint and together, we said the same exact thing with minor differences. The people from Vivint are nice and courteous but they have got to be trained better. One girl came here and the reason why they kept her on is that she was working for the summer. She knew more than the last two technicians and she was only on the job for six months. With a little more training, she might have been top-notch. I know how a business should run. You've got to spend on what you've got to do to have a successful business that works on both ends, with both people and products. I will recommend Vivint as a product, but as far as people, they have to spend the money to make sure they're up in their trade.

The Vivint rep was that came to my house was good, friendly and answered our questions. He had met my wife earlier the day so by the time I got home from work, my wife was gung-ho about the system. All of a sudden, the rep was at the door. Then, the installation team came 15 minutes later. They were fast and it was all done in short order. The doorbell camera, camera for the backyard, window breakage and smoke detectors were included in the service package that we purchased and the video quality of the cameras' good. The camera in the backyard picks up everything all the time.
However, I noticed that when someone rings the doorbell, the front camera couldn't pick up the motion. I wasn’t sure who to call about that because the the most recent time, they said, “Well, I was at your door. I knocked on your door.” But when I checked the camera, there was no video footage for that. But other than that, Vivint has been good. If anyone's looking to have something more package-y than just a monitoring system, then that's what VIvint has.

Purchased entire home system prior to Christmas. Idea was to take over existing fire/security system with upgrades to cameras and doorbell. First install date was canceled last minute so day wasted at home. Second installation date the tech confirms hardware order. Found the device to integrate or take over my existing system is not on the order. Then found that they are not allowed to take over existing fire/smoke detectors. Their smoke heads are not on my equipment list and I would need 4. Then learned that they can not run wire for doorbell system as they just replace one that is there. I do not have wiring to my current doorbell. This was explained to the sales guys. I was promised these guys are the best and would be able to run a wire for this.
Lastly I was told they would not be able to install the remote control deadbolts as my doors would require drilling. Drilling a door appears to be an installation task they can't do and I would need to find another contractor for that. So wanted this to work out, but clearly I was sold a package they were not able to deliver on... Two days wasted.

The Vivint security system is a very high technology system. The installation only took a couple of hours, the technician was very professional, he explained all of the features on the sky control panel. I have the app on my phone which is very convenient. Super easy to use.

We were overcharged for equipment that isn't needed, but was added without our knowledge. The invoice was not given to us until after the contract was signed. Also, the invoice was not handed to us at the time of signing. It was sent through email after installation. We told the salesman that our internet wasn't very strong, but the system was set up and we haven't been able to use it because the internet is not strong enough for the security system. We are now stuck paying for equipment that cant be used and an early cancellation fee for our old security system. We were told that installation would take no longer than 2 hours, but some of us ended up missing a family Christmas party because installation took almost six hours.

Our contract with our other home security provider was expiring and we decided to go with a different provider and a friend told us about Vivint. Their sales representatives were very helpful and explained things very well. I got the basic package where I have the alarms. The installers came and they were very efficient and friendly. One of the sensors went off down in the basement, telling us the temperature was cold. We got a call from them within minutes when the alarm went off. They asked what was wrong. Everything’s been going well so far. I'm satisfied with the service.

We had a new development going behind our house and the Vivint sales rep said, "We can have this done within the hour." And sure enough, he called his guy and they were over there about 10 minutes later. Within an hour, I had signed up and had the whole system installed. It was really quick. The sales rep was a young kid, excellent and very personable. The service I’ve been getting has been excellent and I've been really pleased overall. I like the capability of being able to turn the alarm on and off with my phone, the garage door opener, and seeing the cameras.

I am writing in regards to my Mother's VIVINT system. She has had to endure eight days of the alarm going off. She has called several times and received no help. The tech was on vacation and there was no one filling in for him. He came by yesterday and stopped the alarm from going off. He is a good employee and has been the only help she has received from your company. My Mother is 94 years old and is legally blind. She cannot see to do anything with the panel. She cannot see to send you emails. This is not the first time she has had trouble with your system. After what she has gone through, she wants to be rid of VIVINT.
I talked to Kasandra today and received a case number. She stated she is under contract and must pay it off. Mother has had this system for many years but you claim she renewed via phone. She says she did not. I feel you have not lived up to your contract. Mother should be released from the contract and receive a refund of her last payment. She no longer wants the system in her house. Mother is extremely upset.
Updated on 02/05/2018: On January 8, 2018 I reviewed Vivint terrible treatment of my 94 year old, legally blind, Mother. The alarm went off with a freeze warning. She called Vivint two or three times and they wanted her to work on the panel, she explained that she could not see the well enough to do anything to it. She was told they could Not do anything from their end. She finally got a girl that said she could turn it off at night. This went on for 8 days until her local Tech returned from vacation and turned the alarm off. Her account has "Premium Service" added for Technician to come out, free of charge. HA!
Her original contract was signed in April 2011 for 42 months with an annual renewal after that. When I called Vivint to stop service, I was told the payoff was $1,395 as she had agreed to a 5 year contract in August 2015 via the phone. Why would she? No new equipment or anything. Why would Vivint ask for a five year contract when her original contract with annual renewals would not be up until October of that year. After my first review of Vivint on January 8, 2018, I got a response from on the 12th. "Thank you... we understand... will assist... email us". I did and never heard ANYTHING! Yet the review shows RESOLUTION IN PROGRESS, as does all negative reviews. I would like to know anyone resolved anything with Vivint.

Install tech did good job of setting up and explaining system. Equipment works pretty much as advertised. The biggest problem is outside cameras continue to go offline for long periods of time and customer service said this was just something we have to live with. Since remote monitoring of property was primary reason for getting system this is a disappointment. Customer service response both by calling and by chat is slow with waits of over 15 minutes experienced.

Within 48 hours of having this system installed we began having multiple issues with our system. Our front door would randomly unlock itself (connected to alarm system) and therefore disarming system. We had to PAY an HVAC company on Christmas Day to repair our thermostat so that we could have heat, because the installer had ONLY setup our system for a/c (that week our lows were in the 20’s). We also had multiple other issues with the system. From 12/26/17 until 1/6/18 we relentlessly fought to get our system cancelled and the equipment removed, even though we had a 30 DAY CANCELLATION AGREEMENT!!
When the technician came to remove the equipment from our home, our original front door bolt-lock (brand new) was damaged and not able to be reinstalled. The outdoor camera installation caused severe damage to our metal eaves to our home that is not repairable. Lastly we had to have the HVAC repairman spend an additional hour and half trying to get our unit working properly with our old thermostat (which is very advanced) and a another service call will be needed to determine if PERMANENT DAMAGE has been done to our unit, as our system is still not completely functioning correctly and our heat pump and emergency heat strips may have been damaged. This entire process was a horrible experience and we will NEVER do business with company again.

And if you have technical difficulties, the customer support is atrocious! They act like you are a complete moron! They will NOT come out to fix any of the hardware!!! This company is worthless. I love Vivint and I have recommended them to friends. I like the console and that it was sold as they spoke through it. Plus I like that I could use it on my telephone. I also like the garage door opener, but we got a new garage door opener and it does not work with my Vivint.

I've been with Vivint for a year and a half now. Their sales reps were really friendly and knowledgeable. The installers treated us good, and they were friendly and helpful too. However, none of their features work most of the time. We have to call them all the time and then they'll make service calls to the house. The features will work for a few days, and then it will stop working again. I'm stuck on the five-year contract, so I can't get out of it. I would never recommend them.

We have a camera, automatic door locks, remote door locks, glass breakage features around and motion detectors from Vivint and so far, I'm happy with their services. For awhile I wasn't, but they’ve made good on everything they said they would. When there's something wrong and I'd get them to fix them, sometimes they charge one. They work out of a metroplex and are scattered out. One time, it took us three weeks to get it done so that was not really fast because there's just too few of them to go around. But they keep their word so I'm satisfied with them.

We were fine with the basic Vivint package, but when we upgraded in May, we've had a lot of problems with our system. The computer is always telling us it's offline and we were not that happy with it. Reporting it was complicated, but their representative seemed to be able to handle it. The control panel says everything was cleared and that our home is ready to arm. But normally, it'll have a message on here and it'll beep at me, saying that there's no connection. It's working today, so I’m not too worried. Plus, we get a discount and I really like that.

I’ve had Vivint for about 1 month now. The security is amazing. The alarm went off. It was a false alarm. I opened the door since I forgot it was on and they called immediately! All the devices I purchased work amazing great quality videos. The nest a/c controller is also amazing. I’m a very tech savvy person and I thought this was awesome! We got all new equipment from Vivint installed in July and I'm pleased with it. Their sales reps answered all my questions and everything seemed upfront. We had a guy come out once for some adjustments of a motion detector. They were very responsive and every time I contacted support, it was a good experience. Vivint's doorbell cam got me and also, I can click on my at any time. The sales rep was fantastic and went above and beyond the call. We just bought a home and then Harvey hit. We were not going to be able to take on any debt because we were going to have temporary repairs to be made whole. I was in the pit due to the price, but he and his boss worked with us to where it would be possible for us to have it. The installers were from out of state and they were fantastic. I respect somebody who's willing to step outside of their comfort zone to make it happen for their family. Also, they were extremely courteous, professional, and knowledgeable individuals. Getting Vivint was one of the best decisions I've made and we've been loving it ever since we got our security system. I would highly recommend people to get them.

I was sold on products that Vivint doesn’t even carry anymore. Once technician installed products the batteries went dead 3-4 times with two weeks on two of my door locks. Technician did not have a repeater with him and missed three scheduled appointments to come back and try to repair the product. I still have never received all of the products delivered and no one has returned my emails or can give me a timeline.
Extremely disappointed in the whole process and that your sales team is selling products that no longer exist, offering Alexa for free which they don’t have in and the first night it was installed having a technician in my house until after midnight telling me that he had to complete within that day. Finally got him to come back the next day which he showed up over an hour late. I think product is good but sales and service need to be aligned and you need to be able to offer what is being sold. Overall I would not recommend the product based on these experiences and communication.

There was a group of guys coming around through the neighborhood selling the system and setting up installations, and even before that, my sister was already using Vivint's system. The sales reps were good, but I could tell that the installation people were really in a hurry to get going and to go back home. They weren’t from here. They were doing the camera and doorbell installation really fast and my transformer was there on the top, so they said they'll set it up in the attic. They said all I had to do was connect the wires when I got that fixed, but it didn’t work. I had to get my son in law to take care of hooking it up and figuring it out. The system was not ringing and we finally figured out that the wires on there were backward. The installers hooked up the door inside my garage for storage, which I don’t even go in and out of.
On two or three occasions, I tried to get the door locked with the keypad and I was told that somebody would call me in the next day or two to set up the time, but I never got a call for that. It was a big mess, and then they came out and said it was not a doorknob, that it was a deadbolt that had a code, so I had to get the deadbolt holes drilled in my door and get them to come back again. Since the system wasn’t working, they said to call customer my service back and maybe I could get a credit on that year and a half wherein I did not get the service I paid for. One time, the doorbell was not working again and I already tried to reboot it. I had a rough time, but the person who came out finally and helped get my door issue fixed looked at the doorbell and got it working. He was very helpful and I had a good experience with him.
I like what the system does now that it’s working right, but if it kicks off, my internet blanks then it has to be reset. There was one time when the storms came through here, the power went out for a bit and when it came back on, the system didn’t reboot right. When I opened the doors, they were supposed to give me those alerts or it wouldn’t tell me to turn off the alarm. It was not giving me my sounds and I tried to fix that but my power went out again. When the hurricane came through and when it came back on and everything rebooted, it started working right. When I don’t have power, my alarm system doesn’t work and everything goes offline. It will work for a couple of hours until the power’s restored. Last time, it was over a day before the power was restored and we were vulnerable again.

This house got broken into twice so I got a basic security service. Vivint is a pretty decent company and I've been using them for more than a couple of years. When I lost my key fob, which I eventually found, they came out and gave me two new ones. The only thing I don’t understand is why they won’t come out and service. They don’t want to take care of their equipment and they want you to do it instead. If you have to have something replaced or if you upgrade something, they want you to do it even if you don’t know how to install such stuff. I had a bad sensor on a backdoor and they wanted to send it out and have me install it. But a guy came out here to install it and he was here for about an hour.

Five years ago, a Vivint salesman came by the door and he was really nice and knowledgeable. He said I could put everything on a cellphone system instead of the home phone system. I thought that was great that I could move it all off my home phone system so nobody could cut any wires up outside and everything will be wireless. One of the techs, Mark, came over and installed the cameras that see at night, a doorbell camera, and different control panels. I’ve also upgraded the system since then.
I’m also going to call to add the window glass sensor and then I’ll be able to let go of my house completely at home because I've got a flat roof. Plus, I got cameras all over so I can watch my mother when I’m not here. I am really happy with Vivint. Mark knew what was going on, and their team has been good. However, I had a problem when they upgraded the control panel to another software version. Also, the doorbell camera had a problem where it kept making everything beep so Mark reset the motion detector back down to what it should be, and it quit beeping.

I have the basic security package from Vivint, with the cameras being the main thing we got the alarm for. One of the sales rep I spoke to kept repeating the same thing over and if it wasn’t for the other guy, I would’ve have cancelled on them and just paid the cancellation fee. But they have great service overall.

We had been thinking about a security system and had heard Vivint’s name because my son-in-law's parents have them but I didn’t really know much about any of it. When Vivint reps were in the neighborhood, they came to our door and introduced themselves and then, we went with them. We've had Vivint for a few years now and we like it. We have the lifeline in five or six different locations. I'm on a wheelchair and disabled so we got that just in case my husband is outside. The installation of the system was very easy and was done on the same day. One guy was ahead of the installer and then about an hour later, the installer came right behind him and put it in.
The only thing that we noticed is that every once in a while, which usually happens at night, we get a notification that the internet connection is lost but it's still on and it still works. I have contacted customer service before and they said it was just a surge. Nonetheless, I've recommended them before. And we were thinking about calling Vivint. It’s been quite a while since we've installed the system and I know they have new features now like a doorbell camera and I was wondering if there were any deals that they had on that since we've been looking for quite a while.

Vivint expects you to pay without the service. I am moving for my job. All other companies have cancelled their services with no issue (AT&T, DirecTV, etc). Vivint wants me to complete the contract with no way to use their services. They tell me the only way to get out of contract is to sell to the next homeowner? The account rep was nice but the company's policies are terrible. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!

I STILL can not unlock the door from the keypad after FOUR trips. Very very frustrating. If I have this many problems when it is new, how problematic is this system going to be when it is one or two years old. I am not sure what the best action for me to take at this point.

They have the worst customer service EVER. They suckered us in with the $99.00 install promise yet we ended up paying $1400.00 total for the install. They've double billed us and refused to let us out of our contract (which we didn't know about until installation day) which they've birched in more ways than one. Our system was mis-installed and always says my window in open when it's closed and closed when it's open. This is a HORRIBLE company. Save your money and your time.

We have had to take off 3 times and I have been on the phone for over an hour and our system still has issues. The 2nd tech that came out to complete and fix what the 1st tech did said she could not take a camera. She did not install at our request. She said we had to call and schedule for them to pick up. I was told you all will not deduct camera cost from my bill until it is picked. This will require us to take more time from work to be home for the pick up. I called to express my dissatisfaction with your service and pick up camera. I was told a work order was set up for some to call and come out to pick up a camera on January 2, 2018. We told them we would be home all day. I called and December 31 and Jan 1, 2018 to confirm. On Dec 31 was told no one working, call back on Jan 1, 2018. As of Jan 5, 2018 no one has called or come out to pick up camera or fix our problems

Vivint alarm system - The sales person did my contract for 42 months but in the contract that they have it says 60 months. When I look at their contract online they change it to 60 months when on my contract it clearly says 42 months. I was not aware of this until I contact them to cancel my alarm thinking I was out of contract already and also emailing the copy I have to them. The first time I call to cancel the representative made me aware of this but I send copy of the contract I had and after talking to a supervisor he assure me they were wrong and my contract was over. I send cancellation notice and it seem the process was over, but after a month they charge me again so I called to see what was going on and ever since then they just tell me my contract is not over is for 60 months and there is nothing I can do if I want to cancel before.

This system has not worked since it was installed months ago. The cameras are useless as is the app where the video clips do not load and they do not stay current. We have had 4 technicians already come and customer service cannot answer the question of why I should be paying for equipment that has not worked since installation. Once again customer service insists a technician come out (and we wait another week) and meanwhile the equipment is still not working and they are still charging me. I do not recommend this service.

My in-law had Vivint and I saw how it works. The rep I had was the same representative that sold my in-law her system, so he was friendly and he knew what he was doing. I got the doorbell, the main camera, the glass sensors and the door sensor. The doorbell camera is not perfect quality like HD, but you can see the face which is good to know. The installers showed me how to download the app, synced the email address and set up my cameras. They broke everything down perfectly. It's the best home security system.

We were going on vacation and I was leaving my 18-year-old son alone at the time. We got a decent size house with him being there by himself which might be a little scary and intimidating for him so I thought of getting Vivint. We decided to walk into Best Buy and the rep told me about it which sounded good. When I went back the second time, they told me something and when it was installed, the guy told me something even more different. They told me that it had its own internet system, which was not true. It had to go through mine. The first guy said it worked with AT&T system that goes separately. But then the second guy said it doesn’t do that. But by that time, we were already committed to getting it.
The first time the installers came, they switched out the control panel and it worked well. I could see my son and my living room. I could also see the outside of my house when somebody rang the doorbell. But the system broke within a month. I called them and they came in and switch up the control panel. Then they had to redo all three cameras so they stayed at my house for eight trying to repair it. I had to take a day off for it. The last time they called me, they said that the battery was running out and that was the end of that. It was too much pain when there are systems that I could buy for a lot less that does exactly what this is doing.
For the last four months, it didn’t work at all. I left it alone after calling them three times to come fix my system. A year went by and I got a $1,800 system that is sitting on my wall that doesn't work at all. And it seemed like I was bothering them because when I call Vivint, they tell me to go to Best Buy. So I went to Best Buy, called Vivint, and it just went back and forth.
They explained to me, that I didn't need the monitoring system for them to come and check. But that's how it ended up being. If I have the monitoring system, then they would come out and fix it. If I didn't have the monitoring system, then they would be charging me for something that wasn't explained to me initially. I don’t have the money to throw away. I didn't like the product and I didn't like what happened. However, this doesn't mean that I didn't play a role in the whole outcome as well. I believed what the guy said, rather than going with my natural instinct. But still, I wouldn’t recommend their product.

I'm very satisfied with the service I have from Vivint. Their sales reps have all come up with very positive responses. They solved our problem and helped us when we needed it. Also, their escalation people were very professional and knowledgeable. They knew ahead of time what they had to do. We've added a few features over the years and so far, the system's doing very well and the response time's very good. We've had one recent experience where our brother-in-law opened the door. It alarmed and Vivint responded right away.

We had a Vivint rep who was good at first but he made some promises that were not fulfilled. We're not able to get a hold of him because we think he blocked our number. We have been trying to get our contract back to our contracted amount because our loan amount for our equipment is currently much higher than what we signed up for. And it's not like 20 bucks, it's a major difference. And we've been fighting since June to try and get that knocked out. I had been dealing with customer care for the longest time then I got directed to another department that said we would hear back from them in a week or two. But we have not heard a thing for two months so we are extremely aggravated at this point.
They kept putting us in an internal runaround back and forth between the bank and themselves. I've talked with several senior members of the bank who have said that they could not fix the problem. And every time we went back to Vivint, they said the bank had to fix it. The bank had been online with Vivint at least twice and I told them that, "We can't do this. You all have to." So far, my longest conversation with Vivint was four and a half hours. I've been on the phone for almost 48 hours total just trying to get this resolved.
Vivint has been great with their responsiveness whenever we had an alarm trip though. They immediately were on that box asking if everything was okay. I feel pretty satisfied with that. But in terms of taking care of our account, I have no idea why Vivint has such high customer satisfaction ratings. Our salesperson was so unprofessional. Most of the people I've talked to have been pretty nice but I get that it's a corporation and the people with customer loyalty are there to keep us and the people at the higher up points are there to make more money. I've been in this loop for six months and it doesn't make me happy.

I have a service package from Vivint that includes a panel, two cameras, motion detectors, and something for the window. I also have the app on my phone, and it allows me to control things. I also like the ability to see what’s going through the phone. However, it goes out every once in a while. It would go out of service and say that the cameras are not linked. It happened a lot when we first got it. But they sent a tech out and they installed a routing over the runner. I haven’t had any issues since until recently, where it started to happen again. So, I had to call them about it yesterday, and they fixed it. Their representatives are always friendly and helpful every time I call, and they did a phenomenal job. I strongly recommend them.

I could almost fill out the tape recorder with my opinions on Vivint and it would be on the negative side of the attitude scale. I was on a 90 day trial period and they bought my first month. The installers were really nice and were explaining everything to us on what they were doing and setting up all the Wi-Fi stuff. One guy said that he was the manager, and one guy had come to help, and then he had to leave to do another ticket. They wired everything up. I had the keypad in the laundry room, and the Nest thermostat installed, and then the camera on the outside, and the lamp module or the motion sensor inside.
During the summertime shortly after the install, my brand-new AC started to act really weird and I couldn't figure out what was going on with it. We called the AC guys that installed it, they went out and looked at it, and said that the compressor on the outside unit had blown through the bottom of it. When they got to look in at the wiring, they found out the way the tech of Vivint installed the wiring unit had some sort of setting. It was wired in such a way that at a certain degree, both the heat pump inside and the outside would kick on so, they built so much pressure whicch has blown the compressor out.
After everything was set and done, the lady that I talked to was a nightmare. She said she would not pay anything until she gets the paperwork. She was going to leave my family in the house with no AC for a week and a half so she can simply review all the paperwork. I told her that once the AC is fixed, I want the service canceled.
I canceled with them before my trial period was up but they never lifted the trial. They've been trying to stick me with the money ever since. It's been month after month, phone call after phone call trying to get it canceled. I've asked where to turn everything back in and I've talked to their little bank that they use. Nobody would give me an address to send the stuff to and I cannot get anybody to cancel. I'd sent letters and emails to the Contact Us tab and to whoever the bigwigs were, but none of them would tell me nothing. They were trying to bill me the whole thing. Don't do it with Vivint.

I really like this security alarm and cameras makes me leave my house happy that nothing bad is going to happen. Good service, happy with installation and great customer service. I really like how the panel tells me that if I leave a door open it tells me your garage door is open for example.

Install Tech came and did nothing for 3 hours because he could not handle the change over from ADT. Next Day different Tech showed up, but he was pulled off the job after only a couple of hours to install a different customer's system. He no showed, no called until Sunday at 06:30 AM, upsetting neighbor. System failed while we were 350 + miles for 8 days. Lots of apologies, sorry for inconvenience, etc. You decide.

I purchased this system 6 months ago. I have the full security system with 3 cameras. Since the system was installed, I had to have someone come out 7 times to try to fix it. The system will work for about 1 week then will stop working again. Which at that time, we schedule another appointment 3 weeks later to try to have it fixed which will be fixed for about 1 week and break again. I have spoken to multiple different managers here and the only thing they will do is either let me buy out of the contract for thousands of dollars or they can send someone out again and attempt to fix it. I have no problem paying for services that work but this service has not work since day one. I recommend anyone thinking of choosing Vivint runs away as fast as they can.

I had a lot of activity in and out of the house. Then, my daughter decided to move to Houston and I'm hardly home. I was starting to activate the other company that I had but a Vivint rep got me before doing it. I liked him and his presentation. However, I didn't realize at the time that they were going to do it right then and there. I was very impressed with the young people because I was talking to the rep inside my house trying to finalize when someone knocked on my door and it was the installer. They were here until almost 12:00 at night until they got the system up and running. They were really nice and they showed me how to use everything. I had three cameras and the doorbell camera installed and it has been fantastic. I really enjoyed it. The only thing I regret was not getting a camera for inside my house because there is a section there where I have some important papers and I would have liked to have a camera pointed in that area.
I was in Houston one time and I saw the surroundings of my house. I locked it down and I could still look. When someone rings the doorbell, it brings it to my phone. I've been receiving packages so I've been able to route a sister over there to pick them up. Also, my grandson set off the alarm once or twice while I was in the bedroom and I was able to shut it off before it got out of hand. And when one of my workers was in here to feed my dogs, he set off the alarm and he couldn't figure out how to work it. The police came then. I'm really glad that I got it. I recommend Vivint. The system is fantastic and I don't understand why everybody doesn't have one.

I got an alarm and a camera, fire alarms, smoke and CO detectors from Vivint. When they installed it, they tried to bait and switch me and gave me something different from the iPad-like interface that I asked for. I then got into an argument with their installer and I had to call a supervisor thrice. I didn’t feel good about what happened but everything worked out in the end.

Vivint was already in the house when I bought it and I have them for a little more than a year and a half now. I like the system and that I can do stuff from my phone remotely. I also like that the system is modular or it's easy to add and subtract the sensors. So far, my experience with Vivint has been what I would expect. The system works and it makes me feel safer in my home.

We had the Vivint alarm system about five years before and we got the cameras earlier this year. I have a camera on my front door and I have the night light on out there, but I don’t have much light at the back door. I like the doorbell but I wish the pictures from the cameras could be a little clearer at night. I like when someone rings the doorbell, my phone will ring and then I go to Vivint, and I could see them no matter where I am. I'm satisfied for what I have. However, I had a horrible experience during the installation. They had to come back out three or four times to adjust the cameras or show us how to use the product. I also had two different representatives who came out twice, and a third one came to fix and whatever he did was working ever since. Other than that, I would still tell friends that Vivint is a good service to have with the cameras and the protection for the home. One of my neighbors down the street got Vivint and he loves it.

I already had a security system but the features that Vivint offered was better. The one that I had was a wired system and Vivint offered a wireless one. They explained to me that if someone cut the wires, their system would still work. The installation team is wonderful. They're very helpful and they take their time. They try to explain and make sure that you understand how to use the system before they leave.
I've had a few issues with them though. I upgraded after two years that I have had the system. I got all the equipment and the person who came in installed my thermostat incorrectly. I didn't know until we tried to switch from air to heat and we didn't have any heat. They reimbursed me for the expense that I had from the service person coming out and that took a while though.
I also referred my mother and they installed her equipment. Her equipment was better than mine. So I called to ask if I could get an upgrade because my contract was nearing an end. I had never paid for equipment before. I had never paid any type of installation fees. And they now charge fees for that. Originally they cost me $700 and something and I refused. So the closer it got to my date where my contract was ending, they reduced the price when they could have reduced it anyway because I was a loyal customer. I've been with them for at least five years. They could do better with their pricing. Also, some of their equipment that we've had over the years had been faulty and they needed to replace it. But they replaced it in a timely manner. Vivint's response time was very good. I've accidentally set the alarm off but when they called and I gave them the pass code, the police was never dispatched.

I was hung up on and transferred twice attempting to cancel.The third time finally connected to a supervisor. She tried a hard sales pitch offering the equipment at 1/2 price. When I insisted I did not want the service due to poor Customer Service she relented and said I'd receive a refund. My credit card was charged the same day instead of a refund. My bank is now involved!

I had a positive experience with Vivint's salesman that's why I ended up buying the service. He had a thorough knowledge of all the equipment and a good sales pitch. At that time, I didn't have anything and felt that I should at least have my windows and doors protected. I also have the motion detector feature included. I had two installation teams since I had the system when I lived in another place. And then when I moved, they came out and did the installation again.
The guys were thorough and friendly in both times. They worked pretty quickly and told me exactly what they were going to do. And if I have any problems, I don't hesitate to call them. But the latest guy who came was the best of them all because he has been with the company for a while and was very knowledgeable. He gave me his personal number and told me that I could call him directly if I had an issue. They have a good product which I renewed for two years. And for that, they gave me a couple of different items I could add to my system. They're also good with the pricing. I've called a couple of times and got my bill lowered because of competition in the area offering similar services with cheaper prices.

We got Vivint four years ago. The installers were good and professional. I like the main unit and it does a lot of stuff like customizing things. It always works appropriately and it's also easier to use. On the other hand, I had mostly false alarms and they are a little more expensive, but better in quality. They are twice as much as the cheapest out there but the cheapest isn't always the best.

My house previously had a security system, so Vivint used some of the features in that. The door sensors were all there, but they added the window sensors. I got the main control and the front door automatic lock. The guy that did the installation knew what he was doing and went on about it in a timely manner. He got it done without a lot of hassle so he was obviously well-trained. My wife has Alzheimer’s and I liked the idea of security if she goes out the door, especially in the middle of the night. Every time the front door is opened, I'm alerted on my cellphone. And she has tried to get out twice and set off the alarm in the middle of the night, which was a real rude awakening. And when we got an alarm or I have a question, Vivint has always been prompt to get it resolved.

Vivint is better than my previous home security system. The camera options that Vivint offered was more than what I had. If I'm not home, I can check through my phone, see who it is, and respond. The service is very good. There was a power outage that I was not aware of and it tried to alert me before they got triggered. That was awesome. Also, I have had them come out once and they said they'd be there at a certain time and they were there. I had a shortage in my house and I didn't know it was that. The technician was kind enough to tell me what the problem was. He was on point. At the same time he was there, he changed the batteries that needed to be changed. So it was good. And when I speak to them on the phone, they ask what I need, I tell them, and it's taken care of. It's either on their end or they'll send somebody out.

I have two outside cameras from Vivint. The inside of the house has some shatterproof feature and a motion detector. I also have a thermostat so I can control my heat and a lamp that turns on and off the lights. I like the system because we have two houses. One in the mountains and one here, so when I’m in the mountains, I can regulate things. All the maintenance guys were good people to work with. The only problem is that I always have a camera going offline and the motion sensors in my living room keep disconnecting. I can’t get it back on and my kids can’t either.
The worst part is getting a hold of somebody from Vivint’s customer service. If I call any of their phone numbers, they’re disconnected. I also sent a text message through an app but I never received a callback. I had to go through a sales rep I knew to get a hold of somebody from service. That’s how I got my issues rectified. Other than that, this company is great. When everything works, it’s the best thing out there and I’d recommend Vivint.

Vivint supplied the hard drive of Space Monkey that I had to send in almost a year ago and I still don't have it back. They keep saying that they're working on it, and I'm not happy about that. But the installers were great and I'm very satisfied with Vivint overall.

I like what I see that was installed but one thing I didn't like is the eye sore camera in the front well. I wasn't given much option to ask for what I wanted. I would like to have a door bell camera in my front area. This would be great view from side to side. I would like very much to have that done providing that it doesn't cost me an arm and a leg for the device. Can you help me there? If something can be done please let me know. Thank you.

I get it, no service is perfect. But Vivint??? Wow... Honestly, their customer service is good. I am hearing impaired, so I prefer chat to the phone, but chat is only available set hours. Other than that, their products are garbage!!! I have two panels, 3 cameras, a custom deadbolt, a video doorbell, and numerous sensors. My wife's car was broken into, hence the need for surveillance. I cannot get the damn system to work 100% for the life of me. All three cameras will work for a few hours after the technician leaves, but then, poof... one goes offline. Then two. I've only had the system for a few months, and I have already logged a bit of time With Emails, chat, phone calls, and technicians. What's ridiculous is that I have this RING wannabe doorbell that works half the time. I actually have to tape a note to my door when it goes offline, because the damn doorbell stops working.
The frigging panel??? The main panel keeps freezing. Can't arm the system. Can't use the system. Nothing. The technician was out 4 days ago, and now I'm back to square one. What's the point of a security system if you can't protect your home and family? Here's another thing... Vivint straps you with kid gloves. You aren't allowed access to the system to delete or re-add non functioning cameras. You have to call them, get the installer access turned on, given a code, and then instructions on what to do. Trust me, the "unplug your camera and the plug it back in" jack doesn't work. Not to mention having to climb 12 feet into the air to reset the outdoor camera.
Yes, I've been advised to do that too. I get that I signed a contract... but I never thought I would wish that I could go back to ADT. Their customer service was ATROCIOUS... but at least their system works. Even at that, I am paying 3 GRAND for their non functioning product... Irregardless, I am going to keep trying, as I have no choice. I do know, is that I would forewarn anyone considering their system to go as light as possible. I'd probably be fine if I didn't need the surveillance and all the fancy stuff. I am hoping they can get the bugs smoothed out, so that I can enjoy the rest of the contract trouble free. If not, I will definitely consider a consumer attorney as I am definitely not getting what I was promised. Even contractually.

I purchased Vivint from a rep at Best Buy on 11/27 where a installation appointment was set up for 12/8, however no one showed, when I called Vivint, I was told my appointment was cancel, as there was no one available, to install that day (I was never called or informed of the cancellation). On 12/13 the security system was installed, within hours, my internet was not working right, nor was the security system. I called Vivint, and on 12/19 a tech came out to fix it, by the next day it was acting up again. On 12/22 my internet was completely down and not able to get to my server. I called Vivint and was assured that I would be getting a call from a tech within 24 hours, 24 hours later and no call I called Vivint again (12/23).
And assured once again I’d be getting a call. Still no callback. Due to the Holiday I would be out of town from the 12/24-12/27, I called Vivint again in 12/28 as I still hadn't heard, was told again that a tech would be calling, so on 12/29. I called again and told Vivint’s associate that I wasn’t hanging up until I had an appointment set up for that day. After 45 min the associated told me that I was being escalated to a supervisor and that I would get a call by the end of the day. Guess what? NO CALL! Today is January 1st, (3 days later) and my Vivint still is working, and No call from a supervisor, no email, no nothing... I will be calling Best Buy tomorrow to report this, if I have to call Vivint again it will be to have them pick up their equipment...

Where I live, I have to have a security system because people would break in our house. I've always had one in the house but I didn't like the ones I had and my services with the company I was with was just coming out. I saw a guy walking around the street. I asked what he was selling and he said Vivint and I signed up. They're very helpful and I like them. Recently my stuff went out. It was hard at first 'cause it was for a month and I thought it was working. I tested it and found out that none of them was working. I had to complain all the time for months. They kept on trying to say it worked but it didn't. It's They had to replace them all and it's all good.

A family member told me about Vivint. I also called around and they stood out in terms of their product, service, and pricing. I have some of the basic features and since I'm going to be moving soon, they told me that I could transfer and upgrade the package. Their sales rep was knowledgeable and explained everything to me. Their installation guy was also very helpful, walked me through every product, and showed me how to work or use it. So far, everything's good. I would tell others that Vivint's service is great, their products are good, and they offer various things like cameras and doorbells.

I got a camera and a doorbell camera from Vivint, and I’ve had good experiences with the people that have come out. The installers are typically prompt. They communicate well with me when they’re coming for appointments and they clean up after themselves. I’ve never had a negative experience with them coming to install products or do repairs. If and when I’ve had issues with any equipment, they’ve come out and quickly taken care of things and they seem knowledgeable. I would recommend Vivint to a friend.

I am a single mom working at home by myself. My friends have Vivint so I got one as well. I got their doorbell and outside camera, and I am very satisfied with it so far. I booked a home, moved into the neighborhood, and the broker told me about different alarm companies. There was open communication with the Vivint sales rep and they knew their product. I had to take off from work when the installation team came out and installed the system, and I had no problems with any of the team or of the alarm system. The team met the window time and demonstrated how to use the system after the installation. I turned the alarm system on activated when I leave my home and come back. If it goes off, Vivint will call the police. I also have break glass in all the rooms in my upstairs floor and downstairs. The system is good and I'm satisfied with the service so far.

Vivint gave me the $1,200 worth of equipment for a two-year contract. I've got a crash sensor, a smoke detector and alarm too. We decided to go with the crash in the main room because we've got two big sliding glass doors and big windows in the main living area. The technician said that instead of doing the camera he thought it would be better to do the crash sensor. They did offer us the camera but we got the other thing.
Dealing with the sales rep was good. He told us what was available in the package that we wanted. And then, offered some insight of what he thought would work best for our house. He was very professional. The only thing is he brought his girlfriend or his wife with him. It wasn't an issue for me though. He asked if that would be okay when we set up the appointment. He asked ahead of time so it didn't make any difference to me. He was also the one who did the installation and he did a good job. I'd recommend Vivint to anybody that asks. Anytime that we've ever had a call or problem or anything, they have always been right on it. We had a couple of false alarms and the people that we've dealt with have always been super nice and very professional.

The sales that the randomly showed up at my door was very pushy and wouldn’t leave. I ended up getting the product just to make him go away. While installing the new thermostat they blew my ac. Sales guy was not very helpful in getting the issue resolved. Everyone at the customer service center were very comforting and actually wanted to help. I don’t remember all of the names of the Customer service group that I spoke with but they were all absolutely amazing! I did not keep the product. Sales reps and installation need more training.

I went to Best Buy to get video cameras and Vivint had a thing set up at the store. I originally wanted hardwired cameras. I didn’t want fuzzy or grainy. I didn’t want the internet to go out for that one moment I needed it. Then the guy at the store told me that cameras would record onto my hard drive no matter what I was seeing on my phone. That’s not true because the two days it was down I had nothing. And the few times it went offline it took forever to get it back on. But they talked me into these and said they’re perfect and they’re not. Nothing is perfect, but I wish I would have gone with what I had thought in the first place, hardwired equipment, which Vivint said they don't have.
The guy that worked on the installation was good, quick, clean and to the point. He got it all done faster than I thought they would. Their customer service people were nice and polite. At one time, I was on the phone with them for an hour trying to troubleshoot stuff. I’ve had ADT for 17 years and they were never nice to talk to. Though there were quite a few hiccups in the beginning, it seems like I haven’t had a problem in a while so, so far so good.

A Vivint representative came to us when we had a competitor security system when we were living in Texas. We had just a really good experience, everything worked perfectly. Now, we are living in Arkansas and Vivint has been wonderful too. The sales representative was very cordial and professional. Not pushy at all, and he gave us all the service differences between what we had and what we should get. Also, our Vivint equipment is excellent. We lived in Converse for three years and when we moved back to San Antonio, I was looking for a provider and decided to use what I just experienced. I have Vivint's garage door notifications because where we live off here in Texas has been crazy with the sun. And there were also times when I thought it was closed so it’s very nice to know when it’s not. I also have the doorbell camera and I like being able to talk through it. My husband’s gone for work quite often and I have small kids so I want to know what door is getting opened when so I got all those features and so far, I'm satisfied with them. It’s affordable and very convenient in all aspects of life. There are so many different features I could do so it’s nice that it’s technologically advanced because some are still aren’t. Also, their referral program is great because I got the first month free.
Everyone was very pleasant from start to finish. Even if we have any issues along the way like our internet, it was super easy to get it fixed and they walked us through the whole process. The sales rep was great. I was trying to plan out exactly what I would need for the house and what was best cost-wise for us. We talked for about a month and he went above and beyond, making sure I was a 100% comfortable prior to signing to any agreement. Then, I had two experiences with the installers since we moved when we first installed. The guys that came were fantastic. One was like, “Oh, this might not be better but you have two points here that kind of do this.” He switched it out to make it more customizable for our home.

Vivint's service was good, especially when they came to do the installation. I just need to learn how to use it better. I got the thermostat, doorbell camera, door breaks, and window breaks. Vivint was phenomenal at the house but it was a little messy at my shop, so I was a little disappointed. They did all their drilling in my shop but they didn't clean up after themselves. They just walked away. Other than that, both installation went well. And I've pretty much suggested Vivint to almost every person I know.

I wanted to monitor and secure the sump pump in our basement because I'm away a fair bit. I got the monitor outside of the doors from Vivint and it's a typical security system that I can access through my cellphone. The installer was really good in putting the system in and following up. When there was something else that had to be done, he came back and followed up. But when they installed it, my front door is really sticky with the deadbolt and I can't lock it remotely.

A Vivint associate walked up to my door. He was clear with his presentation, quite manageable, quite disciplined and well-trained. On the same day I was convinced with the product. It was so good, I signed up with him right away and got the system into my house. I was with ADT, and sometimes, the monitor system wasn't working properly. So, I decide to try Vivint. The guy who came to install the system was very friendly and cool. He showed me how to operate the system and how to deal with it. Only thing is I had a little malfunction the other day and I had to spend quite a while on the line before I get to somebody. Other than that the service is wonderful. I don't have a problem with it. Vivint is a very up-to-date system. It's one of the best I see right now.

This company is not in the business to monitor your security. They are in the business to sell you product and more product and trap you in the contract before telling you the limitations of the product they are selling. Why would they offer cameras for the outdoors and tell you that they record when there is motion and it will save the info on the main keypad and after you get everything installed you find out that the cameras on record for 20 seconds what the hell good is that. "Oh we can sell you a DVR to make them record longer." What a ** scam.

The Vivint salesman who came was professional and very knowledgeable. The town we are in is getting more dangerous as with any in the world right now with the recession, so the package that we elected for had a doorbell camera, glass break alarm on our doors and basement windows, thermostat, indoor camera and a deadbolt. Their installers were courteous and they made sure that we understood everything. They also gave us a number that we could use if we had any problems. I love the services that this company offers. I wish I could have them all activated right now but we just don’t have the funds for that.

The sales reps at Vivint were great. We had the system installed seven months ago and it took a while because we have an older home and the installers ran into a couple of issues. But it did not take longer than one day and they were really courteous and patient. I like the system’s key-less lock. There's one technical issue that I'm unable to resolve on my own, though, and I don't like that I can't get support over a phone. They require a technician to come out and I have to pay for that technician. That was not something that I was aware of when I first signed up and that's not a feature that I like.

We have Vivint's security and solar services for two years now and so far, so good. Their sales has been good but I was a little disappointed on how long it took to get my money refunded when I had made an overpayment. It was kind of a rat race, so their back office process is not up to par. But I'd recommend the system.

Everything with Vivint is great so far. I have the doorbell and everything on it and the cameras. I can lock my front door remotely from my phone wherever I am. I had a son that wanted to come in and they tripped up my old security system, and they maneuvered it into a way that they can get in and out the house and it was still showing me that my system was armed although it wasn't. And so, when I got Vivint's system, they said, "You make us feel like we are in prison." So I knew that this system works and I'm satisfied with it.
Their reps are always nice and they help me with whatever I have going on. A guy and then the supervisor came to do the installation for a couple of hours. They did a decent job and talked me through what was going on. I feel safe with Vivint’s service. And I can always see what's going on. I'm a therapeutic foster parent and so when you take care of children that have emotional issues, it helps that if I'm away from home, I can still see and hear exactly what's going on.

I've been with Vivint for a couple of years now and they've installed both in my old and new house. I have the doorbell camera for security because I like to see what's going on in my house. The installer was good and knowledgeable about everything. I already had all the system and he was quick in and out. I'm very satisfied with the service so far. I’ve been a Vivint customer for 3 years. I moved not long ago and the Home I moved into already had an ADT system so the technician took down that equipment and took it with him and tossed it in the trash. Fast forward to today I find myself in an emergency situation where I have no choice but to move out of this place. I call Vivint and explain to them that the technician threw out my landlord's equipment and now I’m either going to have to pay them to replace it or leave mine here. They tell me I can leave it and purchase a new system for my new place. Which isn’t fair because I didn’t give their technician permission to get rid of the old equipment so why should I have to be responsible to replace it.
Then I ask how much would it be to end my contract. The man proceeds to tell me I have 22 months left and I’d have to pay them my full month's bill for each of those 22 months. So not only do they get to have another customer in my dime because they’ll have equipment I paid for they’re also going to make me pay them the full amount. I just don’t think that’s fair. They’re getting over on people and it’s horrible! I think the sensible thing to do would to give me the equipment at my new place then they’ll keep me as a customer and they’ll also gain a new customer from the tenants that move into this place next.

We just wanted to be a little bit safer so we purchased from Vivint a motion detector which is the one for flooding, a doorbell camera where we can see the people who ring our doorbell and a camera out front. Everything was good when the system was installed. The fellow that did it showed up on time and was friendly and courteous. He was knowledgeable and he explained things. The work started about 4:00 in the afternoon and after a short time he was here, his supervisor came to help him out. The installation was done at about 10:00 that night.
So far, it's been a good experience. When we go out of town and we're gone for a good part of the day, we don't have to worry about our home and our cats. There were also a couple of times that we set the alarm off on ourselves. We forgot that we put the alarm on and we come in. The other day, we went on a little trek and came home a little bit late at night. We went in and the alarm went off. But there's usually somebody that answers right away on Vivint's end which is a good thing. And they're pretty friendly, helpful and courteous.

I love Vivint and I’d recommend them. My favorite feature is the 24/7 surveillance and the fact that it’s real-time. I get the alert on the phone as soon as someone is detected. When I first got Vivint in my house, I liked it so I got one in my office too, a few months ago. The installer did a good job installing the one at my house so I requested him to come out and do the one in my office. I referred him to someone else.

I did not have a very good year with Vivint Solar and was going to try to cancel it. We have the business setting and the guys who came were good. The interior cameras work fine. But all the exterior cameras never worked when we needed them and it was hard to maneuver through it. They're very finicky. I had to text them a few times but everything was so slow. And usually, it doesn't catch the footage. I've got 20 vehicles coming in and out all through the day, and it would only pick up five of them. The cameras go offline 2,000 times a day. We have to reboot the system all the time.

I have a doorbell camera and thermostat and then sensors on three exterior doors. It's easy to pay and then I called Vivint and they were here to do the installation within a week which was awesome. I've also called customer service twice when my camera froze up and those have been very pleasant. And it's been a really good service for me. When we had an issue with the connection of the doorbell camera, two installation teams had to come out. But they were quick and efficient and everything went according to plan.
I like the doorbell camera because I travel a ton. So if I have packages, I can call my neighbor and ask to bring them in for me. I also had a situation that someone backed into the pillars of my home, and having that on video was super helpful when I had to take it to the police station to file a report. They always say, "Pictures are worth a thousand words." And that was definitely the case in that situation. I'm definitely happy with Vivint.

My old tech blew me off three times. I had appointments for a visit and the guy didn’t come three times prior and didn't call. With the last guy, I made arrangements to be here at my house. He was great. It was a good visit. I had a guy from your sales department come out. I had an old keypad and the guy from sales didn't recommend to somebody that would upgrade me. And everybody else was trying to get me to sign a new contract and I'm figuring, "I'm not going to sign a new contract if you guys don't give me good service." Then, I emailed the President of the company, and the girl that I spoke to was supposed to set up an appointment for me, and they blew that one off. And then, I sent him another note. And then finally, the guy that came out was really, really good. So, I had a good experience finally after four attempts with nobody coming and nobody calling for my appointments.
I have sliding doors and have a regular keypad. I have a side door that has a monitor. I have a downstairs door in my basement that has a monitor. I have two French doors in my living room that have a monitor. I have a smoke detector that's connected to the system. Yesterday, I had my alarm go off that there's some battery connected with my front door and I don't know how to change that. The last time I attempted by myself and on the phone to replace these batteries and reset it through the keypad it did not work. I only called people to come out because I did what I was asked to do and the rep on the phone couldn’t even walk me through to get it straightened, so really just left me hanging. So I had the fire department come out here twice with fire trucks. And if I wasn’t here, they probably would have broken my doors. There's a shortage of paramedics to come out, and so they sent the whole fire truck when they have calls. And those guys are coming with axes. It was a big ordeal.
The last guy came and hooked me up. I had French doors in my living room and I did a rehab. Instead of having three French doors on two opening, I now have two sliding doors on both openings. So, he replaced the sensor that they took down with the construction and he was going to replace some other sensors. He didn’t have them fresh but he had them from an appointment that he went to, where they went down. So, they weren’t brand new but he brought them in and everything's been working right ever since before yesterday when this front door sensor says it needs the battery.
I had to replace the batteries in my smoke detector. And that was about $15 and that’s okay because it's a specialized battery. But I still couldn’t get it to stop going off. And what happened is when I had my people come in to do work, it would just go on and off and on and off for not the alarm system, but the sensor noise from the keypad would go on and off incessantly every 15 minutes. So, it sounded like anybody that I came in thought I had an alarm system malfunction. That's why I set up appointments. The sales guy that came in here said that they have very few reps in the field to cover all the places that they have. But when this guy finally came out, he came ready to take care of business.
In terms of the system alerting the authorities, Vivint does its job. However, in terms of having the reps come out and service me, I would give that overall an F. But for my last visit, I would give it an A. The only reason I would give it a bad grade is because the rep, whoever is the field manager is, wouldn't look at the reports. If you see that that person didn’t make contact four times, a call to the client would have been in order to see what was happening before I had to go to the President of the company.

When I moved into my new house a year ago, I always thought about setting up a camera. At that time, Vivint was the first one I heard of for a home security system. They have a lot of cool features and I liked the feature of the doorbell camera. Also, I liked having the in-home camera anywhere I want in the house. It gave us a sense of security because we have a very big porch and the fisheye 180-degree camera span is excellent. I can see on both ends of the porch. I really like their customer service as well and the billing because it’s all direct pay when it comes out. I’ve had a couple glitches with the system, but they were handled quickly.
They even came out to replace a mode when I couldn’t open the door with the app anymore. Vivint has been good and I’m really pleased with it. I’ve told my friends about the doorbell camera and how I can watch things go by from my desktop. I even told them that I can set my temperature quickly on the phone. They found my home security cool.

Two years ago, one of my employees was renting a house and it had a Vivint box there. I wondered what that was and they explained it to me. We recently got Vivint's system last year, and I like that I can actually see things that are happening at my home with my phone. If I'm at the office, I can get the recording on it also. Also, if someone accidentally triggers the alarm, Vivint always talks to them over the monitors and gets the password from them. Their sales representative were good and they've been real helpful.

I bought a new house and then signed up for the service with Vivint in July 2016. I got the doorbell cameras, a motion detector in my living room and Alexa. The system can also tell if the windows are breaking and the overall experience has been okay.

Vivint reps came to our door and asked if we were interested in looking at their product. They had come once before but I didn't get it. We waited a while then when they came back, that's when we decided to sign up. The first time they came by, it was a different salesman and was a lot pushier than the second time. That kind of put us off. We went through the sales pitch and we were taken through what the options were and we chose our options. We got two exterior cameras, a doorbell camera, three door sensors and a fire sensor. It was later that same day that a nice technician came out. His name was Marco and he rocked. He had everything in in an hour or so. It was very quick. That was the best part of the experience. I referred a couple of people to Vivint like one of the other people that came into town to work for me. One of them has taken the service.
