Our experience with Vivint has been okay. We had a sensor put on a garage door so we can open and close it from away. And sometimes, we'd gotten a feedback on the phone that the door was open, but it really wasn’t open. It wasn’t working correctly, so we had that feature disconnected. Other than that, we're happy with Vivint.

I've been with Vivint since last year and I'm 50-50 about the features that I have included in my system. I keep resetting and rebooting my main panel. I can go outside and come back in and it'll be rebooting. It's a major delay when somebody comes to my front door. I've called and made a complaint, and all they've done was reset it. It keeps doing the same thing since I've had it and they talked about replacing the box but that was it, and I'm pretty unhappy about that situation. Other than that, their reps were fairly okay. I'd tell my friends to make sure their equipment is working properly if they're going to get Vivint's service.

The panel on the wall of the security system that I had before broke down and they couldn't fix or change it. I told the other company that if they cannot do it I have to find somebody else and to let me go without any consequences. I found Vivint online. I called and they said that they will provide things if it was needed. They also offered a discount and everything was free to put in. I already had half of the stuff in and they installed some more stuff that I didn’t have. They put in a camera, garage door opener, and a touchscreen panel. However, sometimes, the garage door opener does not work because of something happening but I didn't have to call. The system resolved itself or Vivint resolved it.
I called Vivint a few times about alarms and everything was taken care of. I had a problem with a false alarm and it was complicated but we resolved the problem. I'm a nurse and work on the floor, where I cannot use my phone. Moreover, if I'm driving, I cannot answer. I was driving on a highway and by the time I pulled on the side where I could answer, Vivint already called the police. It was a false alarm. I received a message from the police saying that if they answer another false alarm, they will charge me, which I didn’t want. Vivint sent something to police saying that this false alarm wasn’t my fault. They sent an unreasonable email but I just let it go. I told Vivint that if the alarm is triggered, they need to call me a minimum of three times before they call the police because sometimes I cannot press and answer the phone. All in all, I recommend Vivint.

The installation was a difficult one for the technician however he was a pro. The thing I continue to be puzzled about is why the cameras are constantly going offline. I need better explanation. A reboot seems to help but this is not satisfactory.

I am a current customer. The products work great for the first couple of months. I thought I had the best system. Then cameras go out and you have to reboot all the time, or the garage door you have to reboot or the panel you have to reboot. It’s a constant reboot process. The camera will only pick up certain things and those things change daily... It’s expensive to get out of contract when the products do not work the way you are told they would. Not sure I even trust the system to protect my house with all the issues and rebooting. Call the support and they will help you reboot... After a couple times you have that process down so what good is that. I do not recommend to anyone unless you like throwing money away.

The installation was very smooth and very time efficient. Jesse ** was very knowledgeable and patient. He explained everything very thoroughly and helped guided me through my new system. I will highly recommend the system, the only con was the length of the agreement. Overall, I'm very pleased.

The install guy was pretty cool. He helped, was knowledgeable and fast. If I would recommend him, and hire him again. I am happy things work now. I just wish my battery would connect to the panel. I like the camera, being able to see who comes to my house. I like controlling my front door lock remotely. Install guy had extra screws that I needed, put fresh batteries in, and gave me an extra.

My in-laws have Vivint which they had for a couple of years now. Them being customers was the first time I'd ever heard of Vivint then we ended up going with them as their system was already in the house. A rep came by and so he just connected the service for us. I was really standoffish and told him we were not going to buy it but he convinced us. He was great and he did a good job.
The installers were awesome. They gave us a new panel because ours was a little outdated. Then they added a new lock. Our front door didn’t have the camera so they did that. They cleaned up everything. It's just that we have really poor internet in our community. Sometimes, I would go to check a camera and it would tell me that I couldn't which happens 15% of the time. For the most part, I'm actually surprised I could connect. Other than that, I'm really happy with it, unlike before when I would say it was ridiculous. It is really comforting to be able to look at my front door and Vivint is worth the money.

Vivint sent me a mail in the and we talked to a guy who was really good. But the thing is the guy you talk to gives you the information. But it’s not always the information that sold. The guy that actually sold us the system and told us what to put and what to get was the tech. Vivint has to have better training to better their salespeople. The salespeople try to sell you the product but often, they don’t even know what they’re talking about. The techs are the ones who really know. I was disappointed.
But their guy was good. Maybe he was new at it. That kind of got me a little bit bummed over that because he gave some input that wasn’t like so. And then the price was off. We were okay with the price though because of the system we ended up getting. We all make mistakes and that’s understandable. But I just feel like when you say something, it has to be so and it has to be correct. It’s a business. Other than that, I’m happy with the system. We’re paying good money but, in our time and day, you got to have an alarm system. There’s been a lot of break-ins now. I’m moving I’m coming from Salinas, California which is worse. We live in the outskirts of Madera and even outskirts are getting kind of bad.
We got the camera from Vivint and it calls you right away if the alarm just tripped even if you’re in there. You got to put the right code in. Everything, in general, has been really good. The tech knew what he was talking about and he was trained. A lot of times I think if their salespersons had been out there in the field, then they would probably know a lot. But the tech, he’s been doing the job for a while. He advised me this and that and there were a couple of changes. The techs are the ones that know what’s best because they know what’s on in the system. They’re the ones that put that up.
The thing I like about Vivint is it lets you know if you got something unlocked. All alarms do but I just realized Vivint is honest. Also, my daughter was staying out there by herself for three months and she’s kind of a scaredy-cat. But there was security for your daughter. I would recommend Vivint. I told other people about it. I have MONI with my other house and I was disappointed. It was a bad experience. But Vivint is fine.

Vivint was recommended by multiple people. I first got them in my old place which was an apartment and I loved their service. The only drawback was I wish they knew that I couldn't use the metal garage door that I had. They said that they couldn't put a sensor on that door and prior to me sending them that, my garage had been broken into. So, that made me a little sad because after it was broken into, I wanted it to be part of my alarm. When it came to moving, the guy who came out to uninstall the alarm was straight business. He did what he needed to do and left. He incidentally forgot a few sensors in my windows and when he removed the panel, I gave him a box and he put everything in it.
Unfortunately, he wasn’t the person assigned to do the install in my new home. It was a different person who came at 5:30 on Valentine's. He told me he had about 45 minutes only and he rushed through the job. Also, at the time, I just had all my windows cleaned and when they were cleaned, they were also locked with all the window locks and a break-in lock. At 5:30 in February, it was dark. He had all my blinds moved in my entire house and left all the windows open. He didn’t close the blinds the way they were supposed to be closed. They were all facing different ways and I had to go through all of them in my house and redo the break-in lock because he didn’t put any of those back on. He also didn’t put the working sensor in and didn’t hook the panel to my Wi-Fi or walk me through that. He was horrible.
He pushed me out of buying upgrades, too. I needed the doorbell and wanted the door lock, garage door, and thermostat. But the only thing I ended up getting was the thermostat. He told me that I shouldn't get the garage door and that since my front door has a screen on the front and only has a knob handle, it doesn’t have a dead bolt, he couldn't get the door locked until I got a different door and had it carved out in the same part. Then, he said the doorbell would be useless because people would ring it but they were learning to back away from the camera.
Vivint had to send somebody out to my house to do what he didn’t finish and the next guy who showed up was very professional. He walked me through the panel and showed me how to hook it up and well as how to disconnect it. He set my camera to motion detection, showed me all kinds of other features I didn’t even know about, and was fabulous. He made sure all the locks were in use when he was done and he did a great job.

This is my family's first security system and we have been impressed. Being a Primerica rep. this is an amazing product to have in everybody’s home. Keep up the good work and I’ll send them all y'all way. My wife and I love that we can see our home inside and out and can know what is going on almost instantaneously. Controls are super easy to use too.

There was a small hiccup whether or not I was able to finance or not. Overall the product is cheaper than the new three major security companies and still as technological advanced for the price. Cool set up. I could recommend this company to my friends and family in the future.

The Vivint rep who knocked at our door was a very nice gentleman. We had been talking about having a security system installed and Vivint's system looked really good, so we had it put in. But we’ve been having problems with the system. The biggest problem was that it wasn't working when I was remote. I tried to look at who was coming to the front door and I’d check in the house, and the cameras were offline. When I went home, I was supposed to go to the pad and rehook it up to the WiFi, but the system was down again and our cameras were offline. It wouldn’t do me any good if I’m out of town and I can’t adjust the temperature or see who’s at the front door. The reps told us how to reset the pad on the wall that’s inside the house, but we found that it gets really old when we do that once a week. So far, we’ve not been happy. I’ve been thinking about having Vivint pull their system out and our doing something else.

Upon ordering my alarm devices, I was told a installer would arrive at 9 am. I met Maurice ** my installer at exactly 9 am at my front door. We then discussed what sort of system I would like and he then proceeded to install it. After that was done he explained everything to my satisfaction so I knew how to work it. I have had it for a week now and have already had someone else who wants to see about ordering one on the same lines as mine. He said he has already been robbed once and doesn't want it to happen again.

We've had Vivint for at least six years. We have the front door and the back door sensors and if somebody opens it, the door with the alarm sounds. The sales representatives who came out were nice people and our interaction was enjoyable. The installation team was also nice. However, when the system went down, we called Vivint and it took them 30 days to get out and fix it. I got so mad that they weren't giving me any kind of service and that was horrible. I called them and said that we were gonna cut it out and do away with it. The first guy I was talking to said that if I do it, they’ll sue me. That burned me up more than anything, so I was bound and determined that when the contract was up, I was getting out of Vivint. I wouldn't recommend Vivint to anybody.

I'm very satisfied with Vivint's service. I have been with them for over nine months. The only one thing I don't like is when I ask people to do something, I expect it done. I want a paper bill, but they are still to send me a paper bill in over five months. At the initial stage setup, it was a credit card automatic withdrawal and I had no problem with that. But because I like to see things and I like to monitor usage, I wanted the paper bill. And I told them, going forward, I don’t want to do this anymore. I gave them a month or two advance notice. And when I realized it wasn’t done, I went ahead and canceled the credit card which was registered with them and I told them it's been canceled. And for that reason, they piled up the bill for three months. After three months, it got to a point when I get into my house, the Vivint notification system was so loud and told me to call Vivint.
So I called them and the problem was about money. I gave them the credit card again. I told them that this was just for now. I want a paper bill and if they don’t send me one, I would not pay again. They promised they're going to send me a paper bill but unfortunately until today, I see no bill and I will not pay until I see one. Aside from that, I'm very much satisfied with what I got. Also, the installation team was wonderful. I would recommend Vivint to others as well.

With Vivint I was able to use my existing system. The installer was one of the best guys I've met. And when I talked with the reps when the control panel wasn't connecting to the internet they ended up sending me a different router because I didn't have one. They got that router connected and they upgraded my control panel to the latest upgrade and everything has been working fine. The alarm has gone off a couple of times-- once by accident and once in the middle of the night. A window came open so it may not have been by accident. But the Vivint team stayed with me and communicated with me through the control panel, which was absolutely wonderful. It has been a great experience with Vivint. It works really well, I enjoy it and I'm really satisfied with it. I'm trying to get my company to switch, too. Vivint is definitely the way to go.

Horrible customer service. We had our equipment installed yesterday. We found out upon their arrival that our sales rep had lied about the cancellation timeframe. He told us 2 weeks and it's actually 3 days. So here we are on day 2. We've been calling all day trying to cancel as the doorbell camera is not what they said it was AND we can't access the cameras from outside the home. What's the point of having cameras if we can't see them while we are not home? They've been giving us the run around for HOURS. Now we find out that it’s after 9pm and we can't cancel until tomorrow. So you mean to tell me you advertise 24/7 customer service but have a timeframe to cancel this piece of crap? You’re kidding. This company is a joke. DO NOT DO IT TO YOURSELF. There are so many more options. Think smart.

We have solar panels and the person who did the solar installation talked to us about the Vivint smart home system. Our interaction was good, but we're having a lot of situations with the system. At first, everything was working perfectly, but they did a software upgrade and since doing that, we started having a lot of issues.
The first time I called customer service, I had a really bad experience because their assistant needed to come and check what was going on, but they didn’t say anything. And in the next bill, they charged us the technician visit. I called and I asked why they charged me. I told them that it is their equipment and their service. If something is wrong, it's their fault, not mine. I also asked why they needed to charge me for technical difficulty. He gave me a credit then after that, the person needed to come every two or three weeks. He came and said everything was working fine. But after a week, the front door camera was not working anymore.
The doorbell camera was not working at all and the last time that I called was when I opened the door and the door said, “backdoor open.” But when I opened the door, the panel started making sounds. Something was wrong. We tried to put the alarm, but it didn’t go. Then when we called again, one lady gave us instructions. We followed the instructions and she put the system to work. She was concerned because we explained to her all the problems we had. She said that they were going to put a note and when she hung up with me, she called the technician and she explained to me what was going on. Then she called me to make an appointment to let him come in again. He came a week ago and left, and everything was okay. But two days ago, I needed to call him and left him a message that the system is not working again.
My husband is really mad. He said he’s going to take out the system and if they charge him because he’s taking it out before the time that they specified, he’s going to go to court because this is ridiculous. He paid for something that was working and as soon as they did a software upgrade, everything started messing up. But the people in Vivint are always kind and very helpful. Every time they called, they tried to help me. The guy came here and he was polite. He tries to help when I call him, and I leave him a message and he calls me right back. He called the company to escalate my appointment so he can come here to check what's going on. The customer service is excellent and the system was working excellent, but if every time they do a software upgrade and that is going to happen, I would not recommend them to anybody.

I've been with Vivint for eight months. During the installation, the guy, Fritz, was great. He was an old-school and he knew his stuff. He told me what I needed, what he would do and I went with it. I use their camera for security around the office. I liked to be able to log in and get on the camera. It works mostly but it went sour for a little while. Two weeks ago, it just made me log in, and then it wouldn’t take my password. I don’t want to have to log in every time I get on to arm or disarm the phone. When I talked to the people at the customer service, nobody could figure it out and they set me up with some ticket item that they were gonna send somebody.
But nobody got a hold of me and it somehow fixed itself for a while then it went haywire again. And when I called back, they said, “Oh, yeah. Nobody got a hold of you for that? Gee-whiz, sorry.” That was when I said, “Put me with a manager.” I was ready to be done and just dump the whole system especially after that disconnect and the no return call. In random moments, it seems like my phone app doesn’t work and the Vivint app doesn’t recognize my password. I had to go to the office and manually set my alarm. This has happened five times and I’ve had to call anywhere from half an hour to an hour with people who eventually figured it out. They were very nice, calm, helpful and polite. The Vivint app recognizes my password now.

The representative was very friendly and knowledgeable with all the products. Majority of the equipment was installed the same day we signed up with the Rep and working. Easy access to view security cameras and effortless to arm and disarm the alarm. Would definitely recommend to family and friends. Security is a must to keep family safe!

So far I love the system. It far exceeds my expectations. From walking into Best Buy in Mentor, Ohio to installation I have had nothing but positive experiences. The app is easy to use and the online experience is just as good. I know have a peace of mind when my kids have a snow day and I have to work.

My installer was very professional. I asked multiple question and feel I was well informed of how to operate my system. I do feel the prices could be better, but I am happy with my system. Overall very happy with the product, the installation and the technician's service. A few minor kinks have to be worked out but I would strongly recommend this family and friends. Service was very fast. The install was only 2 days later. My camera is a little crooked which can be fixed and it looses its connection but the technician stated he would be back sometime this week to fix it. Just need some type of part.

Vivint was recommended to me by my cousin, so I decided to try them out. I have always gone with ADT for an alarm company, so I was stepping out of my comfort zone. Not a very good experience. It took all day and the system is incomplete. Cannot use, I’m glad we didn’t terminate our ADT account. We are pleased with the outcome. Some need to contact us to terminate our services that we’re not getting.

Credit Karma sent me an email about my credit score that went down. I check my credit and there is a account in collections called Perfection Collection for $4000 that I never bought. So they either sell the info to other people or give it away. I have never used Vivint or heard of them in my life. Beware of this company.

Our service package from Vivint includes the alarm, the glass break alarm, a basement monitor, doorbell camera, side camera, back camera, and a fire detector and we’re very satisfied with the service. With the app, I arm the house after I pull out of the driveway and turn on the lights if we’re gonna be late, but sometimes the app is glitchy.
The Vivint reps were very nice and helpful and their installers were friendly. A friend of mine got the system from Vivint. I've had looked at other systems before and now is the best timing for me to get one for myself. The interaction with the salesperson was perfect. What Vivint has to offer was everything I wanted. With the doorbell, the motion detector and everything. The installation guy, Vinny, was great as well. I liked him. He answered all of my questions. We went over everything and he was really pleasant. I've referred already a few people. I told them about my system and I told them to look at it.

A Vivint rep came knocking at my door and he was a very nice guy. The equipment got installed the same day and their reps gave me a demonstration. I got the doorbell where I can see from it and I can get it on my phone. I like that I can see who comes to my door when I am at home. I’m satisfied with Vivint. Like similar systems available from a wide variety of vendors, Vivint offers a home security system based on wireless transmitters for motion detection, doors and windows opening and other household functions like the thermostat. Everything is controlled from a phone app. The monthly monitoring fee is $50. If you don't mind being your own monitor, you can save a lot of money with Smart Things which has identical functions but only sends you alerts.

The app keeps crashing on my husband's phone. We had to adjust back camera as it was picking up too much of the car movement. Now it shows the back step better. Mark was excellent with installation. Megan was great at explaining things to us. Is there an app for an older iPad without iOS 10.

I signed up with APX alarms and they changed their name to Vivint. They most likely scammed too many people and had to change names. I had them for around 4 years and cancelled in good standing. A couple years later I got a call from a collection company saying I owed money in regards to Vivint. I called Vivint and they said I didn't owe money and they would look into it. I didn't hear anything for around a year.
Then last week I checked my credit and there was something on there from a place called Perfection Collection in regards to Vivint saying I owed over $700. I called Vivint and they were rude saying they can't talk about out since my information had been sold to a collection company. I called the collection company and they told me they owned the debt now and to not even try to call Vivint cause they hear the same story all the time. As far as I'm concerned they are selling people's information and saying they owe money when they don't. Total scam.

We had Vector Security and we switched to over to Vivint. The Vivint rep was a nice kid and the installation of the system was quick. The standard package we got had the motion detectors, doors, pad, and the smartphone app. The service has been good so far, though the pad occasionally freezes up on us. Other than that, Vivint is a good value as compared to Vector and the other security companies I looked at.

When we first moved to Reno, we bought the Vivint system because I was working away from home and my wife wanted to know when the kids would open the door and if somebody was coming in that wasn't expected. We were referred to them by my uncle who has security through them and we had the door sensors with our service package. We've moved since then and we're in a rental now that was already set with the Vivint system. The previous renters had the motion sensors and the window detectors so we picked up where they left off. Right now, we have the indoor sensors as well and I like them but we could't really use them because we have animals that stay in the house.

Great product but they do not have properly trained technicians installing their equipment. The first guy installed the thermostat unlevel and left 10 feet of wire rolled up on my wall with no attempt to tuck or run the wire in a professional manner. The 2nd guy came and they supposedly were sending me their beat technician. He reset the thermostat but did not hide a previous hole in my wall so I had to do it myself the right way. He also started to drill a whole in my garage ceiling to run the wires to a wall outlet in the rafters. After 2 holes in my ceiling he ran a 16" flex bit right through my roof. He knew what he did and did not inform us.
I found the hole 5 days later when I started to run and hide the cables the way I wanted it done in the first place. This guy was very nervous and forgot 4 different items that he brought in and I kept having to go to the truck to give them to him. Their product is great and reasonably priced. I think the company needs to invest more into training their employees because I did not have one issue with ADT when they installed their equipment and all of ADTs wiring was done in the walls and up in the attic. Also there is no accountability when you try to cancel this service you keep getting the run around from customer service reps. Now I am stuck with multiple holes in my walls, I am very unpleased with their installers.

My mom had Vivint and for safety reasons, I also got them. I have doorbell cameras, motion sensors, and two cameras inside the house. For the most part, I'm happy with the security system. But its features are a hit-or-miss sometimes. When one of the equipment do not work and I call to get that fixed, I'd be on the phone forever. They would be so tedious that sometimes it's not worth calling and so frustrating. Also, they never send anyone until I troubleshoot everything with them. They're great in the sense that they do help and they'd send back equipment or send me one. But nobody has the time to sit there and troubleshoot.

Vivint seems to be a great option, rather expensive comparatively but their sales approach works. I’ve had their service for nearly a year and it took 2 months to just get the system to work. At this point I was being held to the fire by my contract so there was no turning back. After replacing every piece of equipment they installed it finally worked, until I was out of town for an extended period of time. Over and over the cameras wouldn’t work, enough was enough so I request to cancel my service. At this point I’m told I have to pay off my equipment and they will forgive the contract. The equipment balance was more than what it cost originally after paying on the balance for a year. I’m convinced this company is a racket and suggest anyone looking for a home monitoring system to move beyond Vivint. On another review site I’ve found 1,700 people have rated this company a 1.9 out of 10. That’s horrible.

Techs were very courteous and knowledgeable. Took a little longer than they wanted but they had a lot of troubleshooting to do. A tech does need to come back a fix a issue we encountered last night. Our system went off twice in the middle of the night for a glass break sensor for no reason so we’re not pleased about that.

I have Vivint's motions detectors on both doors, the doorbell camera, a glass-breaking sensor downstairs and then the app. I can also change my thermostat. The interaction with the sales rep and installation team were good as well. Last summer, another guy was going around doing a quality control type thing, checking in on the systems and he was really friendly too.
Some time ago, all of my sensors were out of batteries, so everything wasn't working properly and it kept sending notifications to my phone. And I had a tech come out and do a service call and he was awesome. He replaced the batteries and did everything. I have the front door set up so it locks automatically at 11 at night. However, it wouldn't fully lock. It kept going and going and trying to lock, and he even fixed that for me. It was a lot of help.
My only complaint with it was the update recently. There is a panel volume that I can turn the volume up and down on the front door and back door. But for some reason, I can't change the volume on when I'd clicked arm. So, it's really loud and my dog will bark at it and wakes my son up sometimes. I've not alarmed it very much since then because my dog usually has to go back out in the middle of the night and I've tried panel volume but nothing turns up one voice down. Nevertheless, it's a good system and I'd tell others that Vivint is worth it.

Vivint was a recommendation from our neighbor. Our package includes a camera, a doorbell camera, and motion detector which we've been wanting for a while. However, the camera system is not as real-time as I expected it to be. If somebody is ringing the doorbell, I want to be at work and be able to answer them right then. It seems that the system goes down due to the internet connection, but the thing is--we have very good internet. It could be a hardware issue, though. One time we had to call because the system wasn't working. It wasn’t letting me set an alarm. We did a soft reboot, but because that didn’t work, we did a hard reboot which was taking out the screwdriver and taking the screws down and wires. Vivint said it's the only way it can be done and my concern is if we have someone house-sitting for us, they wouldn’t even know where our screwdrivers at. We do travel and I want to make sure that it's working properly.
And while their salesperson and the installers were great, the hold times are long for customer service. The very first time I called with an issue, I was on hold for 42 minutes. That has been the longest I've ever been on hold with them. Other than that, they have always responded and have called immediately when there's an alarm.

A couple of years ago, I was over at my son's house and the guy from Vivint was out and was checking on one of the neighbors. He then came over and he was good. I have the basic service package from Vivint that includes the main door secure feature. However, they got the machine in the wrong area because when I'm in the bedroom and it goes off, I can't hear it. But I have a cure for that. I do something where I can hear it and that's a lot easier for me than to have somebody else come in and do it. Still, I am satisfied with Vivint.

Our home was burglarized on Thanksgiving eve day. We went to Best Buy to look at home security systems on Black Friday. While looking at their selection we were steered to the Vivint demonstration area and shown the Vivint/Best Buy system. We were told the system would cost $1100 for the equipment and the monitoring would be $19.95 a month, with free install and free financing with a new Best Buy credit card. Also, this was the first sale for the rep at Best Buy/Vivint, she informed us after we were done, and her mentor on the floor claimed he had been up for 24 hrs straight during Black Friday and was fading in and out of the conversations.
A week later the system was installed and the tech went over the system including what would happen if the alarm was tripped and how we would have to give the "passcode" to stop them from sending the police. Tests were done with the monitoring service and all looked great. 2 weeks later the thermostat stopped working. They tried to walk me through the fix but they ended up sending a tech out who was able to fix it. 3 months later we went on a long vacation and the main panel failed and went dark. I called to get service and they refused unless I paid them $199 for the tech visit. I explained the system was almost new and they said that since I didn't have the premium monitoring package that I would have to pay for the service call.
After many phone calls and many different explanations, like "you need to have the $49 a month package for service, you are self monitoring, you really have 120 days for full service so we should send a tech out", they finally agreed to put me on the schedule when I returned from vacation. There was no sense of urgency at all from Vivint, spent 1/2 hr on hold once just waiting for possible times the tech could come out...hung up. All in all about 6 calls to Vivint, with only a take it or leave it attitude.
They spent a week finding out from the salesperson if they had promised monitoring of our home. After the week the salesperson apparently said they didn't promise that. It was clear as day to my wife and I during the sales pitch. In fact the contract says $19.95 per month service, nothing about self monitoring, or monitoring. We didn't even know there were choices. So while we thought Vivint was watching our home, in fact we were watching our own home for $19.95 a month. Who would pay someone so that you could do all the work? Worst part is they never informed us we were the only monitoring service, we truly thought they were handling it.
I called another security company and they could not use the equipment I bought 4 months ago and Vivint refuses to take it back. Also looked at my bill from Vivint and they had mistakenly charged us for the broken thermostat ($159). They said they would refund the money, and they didn't know why they did that. Since I bought this at a Best Buy location I will be visiting them with a box of security components next week. Beware of Vivint, run fast the other way! Also disappointed with Best Buy for endorsing this company, I will be rethinking my patronage of them after this.

Great company and great products. Advance technology and great people. Had difficulties with their service. Called few times but they couldn’t accommodate and work with our schedule. We tried to even set it up for weekend and they had problem not be able to confirm. Their indoor camera didn’t work well and we needed to correct it since we had my mom that had an Alzheimer/dementia living with us and requested too many times to help us and they didn’t understand our needs. They tried to help us online but it wouldn’t work and they keep referencing us to online solution. We love their system and their responses. Will recommend them to anyone and hope they resolve their service problem.

Sky Panel stays froze and doorbell camera don't record clips. Customer service just told me they do not have an updated program for this system yet. They want to take ten dollars off a month on my bill. I feel that since their equipment is not working that I don't have to stay true to my contract. The main reason I got this system was for the camera. It worked good until these past four months nothing.

System is constantly down/offline a frequently; will not respond in timely manner at front door when visitor is detected; system does work with my garage. I was under the impression it could. Found out the day after the install it couldn’t work. (Most disappointing, this was a huge selling point for me) Lastly most important we cannot at times ARM the system when we’re away. We purchased a doorbell camera as well as cameras from Vivint for the house. I knew at any time I could add more features and that it was easier to have the system upgraded. Then after the initial installation, I put in more sensors so that I knew every room was covered. Our whole house is secured, versus one room or two rooms. Other than buying the extra features I wanted, there was no extra charge. They just popped them in and came out. Their sales reps were nice, cordial and polite. The technician who came in to install was also very polite, courteous and seemed knowledgeable. He tried to make sure that we understood what was happening too and marched us through everything. Moreover, he asked if we had any questions. It was pretty easy to use so we didn’t have a whole lot. I've had an excellent experience with Vivint and I have recommended them to some friends.

I'm greatly satisfied with Vivint. We've had it now for just over two years and it's been fantastic. I talked to a gentleman about the features and services. He came back the next day and we went through the plan and talked about what was available and how we might want to build it out. He was really good. In addition, it was pretty straightforward with the terms of the contract, the length of the contract, what the actual value of the contract was and how long we were going to be engaged in it. That was really good because I work in a business where it's not good to surprise people about money. The installers were really good. The initial installer got everything done within two hours. There was one door lock that we had to have somebody come out the following day but they were done within five minutes or less.
I got a doorbell camera, a camera over my rear driveway, an interior camera, an interior door lock and two garage door controllers. I was interested in doing the little home automation and security part of it. It was a good way to intermarry everything into one platform. A couple of months ago, they came out to have the smoke detector repaired. It was convenient that they're pretty flexible with when they can come out and they're good about narrower time windows. Vivint's security system is great. People should get it.

I've had Vivint for about eight years and this is the third home that I put Vivint in. The interaction with the sales reps has been good. It wasn't too pushy. They also answered any questions I had. Customer service is really good. If I have an issue, they make sure to remedy it right away. Also, the installation team has been quick. They got everything knocked up the first time. I had a security system and in this day and time, you need to amp up security. The Vivint reps were walking through the neighborhood one day and knocking on doors, and I had a good experience with the sales rep. He was thorough and patient. Their installer was very good too. It was one guy initially, and then another guy joined him. It took him a while, but he explained things and took his time.
My service package includes the overall monitoring. The cameras are good, but my favorite is the app. I can keep track of what’s going on with the house via my phone no matter where I am. So far, I'm satisfied with the service. There have been a couple of false alarms - I have one sensor that I need to get adjusted, but during those alarms, the customer service reps monitoring are on it. It was an opportunity to experience what happens when the alarm sounds, and I was very impressed. If a friend needed a security system, I would tell them to go straight to Vivint and not look at any other ones.

A lot of years ago, we were in a door-to-door sales situation with Vivint. We were thinking about getting home security at that time and we had checked out a couple of other different places and Vivint had the better situation. The sales rep was very good in explaining what we needed because I was already in a wheelchair at that time but they didn't have what they have now. Vivint themselves have upgraded to different avenues and we had to latch on to some upgrades since we've been with them for quite a while. We just got our children into homes and Andrew went for a Vivint in his place and he's got more of the substantial upgrades with his set up than we do.
I'm handicapped and I'd like to get Vivint to come and reassess the situation here because I can't get to the front door. I need to access the door and get to talk to the people outside the door. We were going to get in touch but we've been pretty busy with the Easter long weekend. Vivint made a difference in our home insurance too, which is nice. We have one of the original setups with the little sensors on the windows and on the back door. We also got a CO2 detector but we already had the fire alarm system in the house when we bought the house. Other than that, we don't have a lot of fancy bells and whistles. We're quite happy with Vivint.

Overall I am satisfied with the system. I don't like the way the power source was done and the hole in my wall not refilled. Also, my garage door lock works with the code but there is not a key available. I was told by Jon that it takes 2 to 4 hours to install the system. It took 3 days to complete the install.

I had a good run with Vivint. My children moved away and I was here by myself. So, they came by with the salesman and I liked everything that they had. Vivint was able to put their system in that same day and everything went well. I got the motion for the inside of the home, a camera on the outside and a doorbell camera. So far their service is good. They notified me such as when the electricity went out and they called me and let me know something is going wrong with my system.
The sales rep was outstanding. He was professional, courteous and he didn't try to oversell me. He told me exactly what I needed for that time. And the people that came out to put the system in were excellent. They asked me where I wanted everything placed at and they asked my permission to go into the room that they needed to go into. They did their job, cleaned up everything and left everything in on. It has been two years now since I've signed up with them. I'd recommend Vivint to others. Problems with panel, keep going offline, they always say they need to reboot it... I’ve had these cameras for maybe 2 weeks the most and I’ve rebooted like 7 times. Phone loading problems... there's many clips missing. One camera is not up and running. Wires are sticking out the wall.

Our neighbor had Vivint's service and I wanted to have home security. I got Vivint's basic monitoring service package and it was just what I needed at the time. The installers explained everything to me well. Now, I feel that my home is protected and it decreased my anxiety about leaving my house.

I have Vivint's security system, fire and gas monitors and their service has been pretty good. Their sales reps were good and their people helped me every time I tried to call. They came to try to fix my door and the guy said I needed to change the batteries on my door. Also, I was quite surprised how fast the cops arrived when my alarm was accidentally set off.

Our first tech didn't know what she was doing in my opinion. The second appointment with Tom and Norman was the way customers should be treated home run knocked it out of the park. Tom's boss Norman was like a MacGyver with alarms fixed everything that we were having problems with. Tom knew what to do, didn't waste time, got right to work and when he ran into a problem he found a way around that problem to get the job done!! A plus.

We had just moved into the house when a Vivint sales guy walking in the neighborhood knocked on the door. He explained everything to me and it sounded good. He showed me different features and I bought it. Being new to the neighborhood, I wanted to have the doorbell, glass protection and then indoor motion detector. I also got the emergency ambulance and fire push button. The installers came within two hours after I bought it, and they installed it on the same night. I've been satisfied with the service and I also use the camera for the door, just in case my toddler decides to try and run out. We’ve had some issues where the doorbell would go offline, but besides that, it’s fine. I enjoy it. And people should get it.

First off I had prepaid for all my equipment and when installer came it was not noted and I felt like a liar because it didn’t show on her end that it was paid for??? Why was this?? I had to show her my email receipt and credit card statement to prove it. My installations is still not compete still and the installation date was on March 20th 2018... Why has no one followed up with me to complete install yet. When I have a alarm system installed I expect a thorough walkthrough to be done to make sure every device is working the way it should be for my family's protection. Not to just install and not verify that everything is working properly. How would you know that unless a thorough walkthrough is done??? I don’t like hearing “I don’t know why the device is not working”. If you are the install professionals then research it and or make a phone call to figure it out. Responding “I don’t know” is unacceptable when I’m trying to protect my family.

My wife is always ordering packages and stuff so we want to make sure nobody takes it. I have the indoor camera, doorbell, motion sensor and then I have the front door sensor and the back door sensor and the automatic locking from Vivint. The service is good. The attitude of their sales rep was good. I like his attitude and he answered all my questions. The only complaint I have is just my Wi-Fi. Something would be nice to hook up my cameras with instead of a Wi-Fi like a cable run for straight to Ethernet cord or something so that way it has a better quality on my camera or something versus Wi-Fi.
The installation went out well. The camera, automatic lock, and the panels were installed good. But I'm not getting all notification like with my door opening and closing. Maybe once in a blue moon it will do it but not all the time. And my sensors are working except with the door. But I would recommend Vivint if you order package and stuff and worried about the security of your home. We live next to a highway so it was very easy for somebody to take something and leave. Also the installers that came told me to wait to order more cameras because in 2018 they're coming up with new ones with better quality and I'm assuming they came out already since it's almost midway through 2018.

Not satisfied. I believe I was told some things that was a misrepresentation to what I was told when I first talked to the Rep. You didn't leave a sign for outside plus making me pay extra for a camera that was already included with the sale. And the price was $50 now it's $60 and I don't like you have to separate companies going in my account not liking that at all some third party. And it's not cheaper than what I had already.

The monitoring feature in our Vivint service was good. The installer came on time and did the installation. Three months ago, the panel was either not connected to the mobile phone or was off and the Vivint customer service rep I spoke to told me what to do on that panel, then we did it, and then it was okay. However my husband didn’t know that the panel was only for Vivint and once he transferred to another monitoring company, he could not use it. So, we’re tied to a contract, and our concern for our next renewal is that we want to get at least a lower monthly payment like on the other alarm systems.

Where to begin... We researched security companies ad nauseum and settled on Vivint due to purported great customer service and high quality hardware. We purchased multiple door sensors, exterior cameras, glass break sensors, thermostats, the works, through Best Buy... Which was nice since we didn’t have to sign a contract... But shelled-out many thousands of dollars up front. Everything worked flawlessly for maybe a month and then cameras started to go offline for significant lengths of time. Requested a tech to come out and he didn’t show up in the 4+ hour window that THEY committed to, which was frustrating since I had to take time away from work. Guess it’s their world, we’re just living in it...
Since the tech experience and the installation of multiple WiFi repeaters (in addition to our own Linksys Velop mesh system), our cameras never work and the panel has completely failed us on occasion, leaving us unable to exit the house without tripping the alarm. I regularly run WiFi speed tests in the rooms where the exterior cameras’ transformers are located and consistently have 100 Mbps download/80 Mbps upload speeds, which is far more than sufficient.
Sure, Vivint touts their reputation of excellent customer service, but, if their products were worth a darn, you wouldn’t have many “customer service” interactions to begin with. So, what does that tell ya? Many of their “fixes” are only temporary and require YOU getting up on ladders, unplugging batteries, handling panel components, etc. Otherwise, it’s a roll of the dice with tech and whether they even show up our not.
To summarize: Pros: Nice equipment, WHEN IT WORKS. “Lifetime” warranty on equipment. Average “life” of equipment seems to be short, though. Most chat/phone customer service personnel are friendly and can provide temporary relief. App is nice when the products work. Seemingly innovative security solution. Cons: Highly suspect hardware quality. Hit-or-miss reliability for tech assistance. Hands-on requirement to mend issues. Monitoring fee when the equipment rarely works to begin with. Lack of trust in the response reliability IF a true crime were to occur. System seems complex, in turn stunting the reliability factor (an important trait in a home security system). At this point, I could not in good faith recommend this company, placing me in an unfortunate position since I truly WANT to like the system. Caveat emptor.

The appointment I had was for 4:00 p.m.. The technician did not arrive until 530. The technician also did not have his tools but had to borrow a CO worker's tools. The technician was courteous and did apologize for arriving late. The technician had all of the products that I had ordered. He did go over each of the products and where it would be most suitable to be installed. Unfortunately one of the key components the doorbell camera was not able to be installed due to not being able to find the transformer. Not getting this product was extremely disappointing as that was 1 of the key features we wanted to be installed.
The technician was not the most organized nor clean when installing all of the products. In fact he left a wires, fingerprints on products and a ladder out that he had to borrow from me out around the house. Also some of the attic entries had his fingerprints from when he was crawling in the attic. Fortunately the technician had to crawl in the attic to find the doorbell transformer and doing so push some nails through the top of the ceiling which I've already contacted Vivint about. The technician did not leave until 9:30 p.m. so it took 4 hours which is a little excessive in my opinion.

I am absolute happy to have made this decision to get a system in my home! I have ways been aware of my security for years, especially for my peace of mind. I decide to finally get a system in my home due to having a baby. Also, I was never able to see who was knocking at my door, (due to door not having a peephole). Honestly, I always got nervous when someone knocked on my door. Especially, if I was not expecting someone. Now I have peace of mind, I am able to see who’s at my door, when I receive packages, etc. It’s so convenient. We should have got this system when we first bought our home. Seriously, would recommend to everybody!

I have many accounts with Vivint. I wanted to cancel one of my accounts with them so I called, they would not let me cancel. Changing me from person to person, talking over me and not acknowledging my wishes whatsoever. I ended up begging them to please cancel my account. They said ok after one hour and a half of talking over me. Then they sent me another bill, I called again hours of my time and aggravation. They finally decided to tell me to send a cancellation email. I sent them 14 cancellation emails and they never acknowledged me when I asked to please send me an email letting me know they had received my cancellation email. More phone calls and bills. They take one month to cancel after the cancellation email. Another thing they do to charge you an extra month. Beware of this company.
Updated on 04/03/2018: I have been trying to cancel my alarm account for 2 months. Calling and emailing cancellation notices. They act like it's no big deal. Never saying, "We are sorry that you are having a hard time," nothing. This company does not care about customer service. Now I actually sent them the last check so they would stop trying to keep the account opened, I had the Bank receipt that it had been deposited into their account and so I called again and they still said they had not gotten their money. That's why they had not closed my account. The person I was talking to actually was arguing with me, I'm stunned that Alarm companies feel they can treat their customers like they don't matter.

Not able to get my cameras working as required. Several tech come out and leave trash behind, too much wires showing out of home and canceling appointment that customer set up and doesn't give them a call to explain why. Panel has been showing temporary maintenance lately.

I've had Vivint for about eight years now and I'm satisfied with the service. I liked the response time. There were two times that the alarm went off accidentally or because I was keying the PIN incorrectly and their response time was good. And each time it was a false alarm and they didn't make a big deal out of it. And their reps were helpful. Around two years ago, a door-to-door salesman came by selling another system and I bought it. And then I called Vivint to terminate the service. But I didn’t realize that I was still on the contract with them. And so I was on two contracts at the same time. But Vivint was able to help me resolve that situation. They told me what to do and then I was able to dissolve the other contract and stay with Vivint. And I'm pleased with what they did. I will recommend them.

My neighbor had Vivint. The house is huge and she helped me. Now I have the system. We have the doorbell cam, the motion sensors for the front and patio door and then the home panel thingy. I work out of town so I do a 14-day, 7-day shift so the security system helps out when I'm gone for the 14 days. It gives me a little peace of mind. The service has been pretty good. The sales rep was pretty cool. He’s easy to talk to and he’s relatable. The installer who came over was really polite and then cleaned up all his mess. They gave me a little time window when they would come and he was in it.

I paid about $1500 upfront at Best Buy and then paid a monthly fee for monitoring. In January 2018, I put my home on the market and it sold immediately. I called to cancel my service but had difficulty getting an appointment to pull my security system and box up before closing. In March 20th, I realize despite moving and no longer having a monitored system, I am being billed monthly. I cancelled Jan. 29, but got billed in February and March. They have a policy that you must send an email. I spoke to them several times and they never mentioned this. So what kind of monitoring is happening when there is nothing to monitor.

Vivint's customer service is excellent. Whenever I called them with any issues that may be happening, they tried to resolve it right away. I spoke with a rep a few days ago. We had a power outage at our home and it kind of tripped the panel out where it was making noise until the following day. I called in and the rep tried to help me as best as possible. The guys who installed the system were great, too. The only thing is I paid for the Vivint sign that’s supposed to go in front of our house but I did not get it. I had called and asked for it two times, and I still haven't gotten it.
Vivint is good and I like them. I liked one of the features that they had as far as being able to open up the door electronically from my phone. I have young children who are in junior high school and in the elementary. And these kids lose keys. When they ring the doorbell, I get a notification on my phone and I can open up the door. I can also lock the door and change the thermostat setting. They gave us the Alexa app, too. We also have a video camera on the side of our home, the doorbell, and inside the home. I'd recommend Vivint, and I would definitely share my experience with anyone who's in the process of purchasing a new home.

A bunch of our neighbors have the Vivint doorbell camera and so, we asked one of them about who provides it and they said Vivint. And then, we started looking from there. We spoke to someone from Vivint twice when we were interested in the product, and the rep didn't try to sell us too hard on it. He let us do our own research but gave us some things to think about. But the installer didn't seem like he was the most knowledgeable. He seemed to be pretty well-trained on installing it but couldn't answer what I might expect from my experience working with the company afterwards.
We have 24-hour monitoring by Vivint, so any actions are detected by any of our monitoring equipment and Vivint knows about it. They call us when an alarm goes off that we don't disarm in a reasonable amount of time. And we're also able to access our video feeds of the doorbell camera and another outdoor camera as long as our Wi-Fi is connected.
However, I don't know what's wrong with the panel but there have been a lot of issues. It was making a bunch of noises when it detected certain activities but it was programmed not to make any noises, so that was a clear error. When we asked Vivint about it, they said it might be a software and so, they would push out an update. When they did that, it was never updated. It downloaded the update but it never applied it, so we kept having the same problem for a month and a half. And in that time, we just disabled all the noise making abilities. So, it was like we weren't getting what we needed out of it or what we had signed up for.
In the last week, though, we called in again. They pushed out the update and it actually did get installed this time, and we haven't had any of those problems anymore where it's making unwanted noises. But when the software was updated last, it started kicking itself off of the Wi-Fi pretty frequently. So, we weren't able to locate the doorbell remotely. We also couldn't see any of the live or archived video. It was pretty frustrating. However, in the last day, I found an option on the panel to reset the wireless device inside it and it seems to have been improved. But it hasn't disconnected itself since resetting the wireless device there. I've had similar problems with routers where it's unable to connect certain devices to it, and I'm hoping it's not a regular problem.

I am with Primerica, so we are partnered with Vivint. We have got the glass break sensor, the sensors on all the doors and windows, the CO2 monitor, the smoke detector, camera out back and doorbell camera out front. I wanted to make sure that we had all of our bases covered. I live in a condo, so we have a bunch of people always around. Our bikes got stolen while we were on vacation and a lot of stuff happened around here.
The installation of the equipment was quick and the guy who did it was super helpful, and he answered all of my questions. But, after that, we had to reset our panel because it froze. I called around 11 PM and I was surprised that someone was there. It was nice and easy and we got it all fixed up really quick. And so far, the service has been awesome. The doorbell camera is a little bit float though. When I connect to it on the app, generally, it takes a little time to load or to view a clip. But, other than that, it has been great. I tell everyone that Vivint is awesome and that they should get Vivint, too. And working with their affiliate, I get a referral fee if we refer a client to them.

We had a security system for a month before Vivint came in. We wanted to get cameras since we didn't have one and one of their reps came and did a presentation, so it was kind of a slam dunk. They did a takeover, used what we already had, plus they added cameras. Everyone has been really great, helpful, and friendly. Their installation team did what they needed to do quickly and checked everything before they left. We had some issues after that, but they came right back and took care of them. So far, Vivint's service has been good, but it has not been great because we keep having to reset stuff. We had to reset our doorbell camera and some of our contacts weren't working quite right. They had to come back and redo some stuff. But some of the stuff I was able to fix by myself because they gave me a troubleshooting thing.

My home alarm went off; I got the mobile alert and then a call. I do not know what is happening at the house, I am not there hence why I pay for this premium service. I tried to view system from my mobile app which is informing me it cannot connect and suggests my system as been unplugged. What?! I speak with Vivint again and they inform me that I need to speak with technical support. I am on the road; shouldn't this be handled by the company I am paying to do so? I should not have to do the legwork to find out what is happening with my equipment, call two different departments and then argue with them about what is happening.
I finally get someone (after an hour of being online and talking with two worthless "customer service" agents). I get a great guy in tech support who tries to assist but can't do to a real issue now. I have to be home to help them reboot and adjust my system...what happens when people are out of town and do not have access to fix this?
On top of it all, I asked them to "arm" my home again since I am unable to access it now. I am told this is not something they do for the customer's protection. Excuse me? I cannot do it as the customer and you cannot do it as the company? Perfect. I now have to travel 30 miles back home from work to rearm my alarm system since this joke of a company will not and cannot do it for me. Hopefully there is not a real issue because the care and attention from this "security" company is worthless. I asked for a manager to call, they told me to call the 800 line but assured me I will not get a manager. Great, why would you want to help me? Haha, I have to laugh, this is how a teenager handles things. Not a multi-million dollar Utah based "family friendly" company. Save yourself from the grief, anger and worry and go with anyone else. I wish I had. What a waste of my time and money.

I had Vivint install a doorbell and a backyard camera. It took them about an hour to install and it was a great experience. Also, the sales people were open and very knowledgeable. And when I call, Vivint's reps always assist me. Their system has good smart features too. I have told people about Vivint and they have gotten it.

One of Vivint’s sales reps came to my place and advertised how I can use their system even though we are away and check and monitor the house to be sure that everything is safe. Those things attracted me to change from AAA to Vivint. When the installation was going on though, I let the tech know that I have no codes for my garage opener because it's a brand new house and he said that it was fine. But when I called, I was told I was gonna pay an additional $100. I was not gonna pay an extra cent and I did not like that part because the information I was getting from the sales rep who came to the house should be the same thing with what I would be hearing from the customer service. But the information I got from the customer service contradicted what the sales rep told me. Still, I would still recommend Vivint to a friend.

I got the basic installment of window and door sensors from Vivint. The installation team was great. It was two guys and they did a great job explaining. Being bi-lingual, my husband doesn't understand much English, but they were very nice and helpful, explaining to us what they were setting up and doing. I have a good interaction with the reps. When I have to troubleshoot the system, as soon as I call, I get help. The Vivint team looks at it and it's fixed in just a minute or two.

I like Vivint's system, and it is great. My neighbor across the street has a similar system, too. Although he does not have as many features like I do, he got the idea to get one from me. My service package includes the interior and exterior cameras, doorbell camera, motion sensor, glass break sensor, garage door sensor, door sensors and thermostat. We were going to do smart system components anyway so we have pretty much everything. It was just convenient to tie it all into one. Their sales team was informative and explained how stuff would work and answered questions I had about connecting other applications, other systems into the Vivint system. All of our lights are controlled by smart switches or they're actual smart light. So, we tied it on stuff into it as well. The installation team came and then asked where I wanted stuff. They just kind of went with it.
However, I'm less than satisfied with it. It's been seven months now and we've had continuous issues with the cameras and staying online. And that we had techs out multiple times. If not at least once a month, more than that. And they ended up having to move the panel to a different location. So, we actually had to get someone professional to repair the wall because we have textured walls and you can't just fill the textured wall and it would look right. That was money out of our pocket that we had to pay because the first installer put the panel in a spot that wasn't great. So, I wasn't very happy about that.
The last thing they did was to move the panel and we're still having the issues although it's not as bad. Only one of the cameras is having consistent issues still. There are power line converter cameras that are going to be coming out soon. They're going to swap it out for one of those which should alleviate the problem because it's a hard-wired connection essentially.

I am extremely dissatisfied with your service, install and your so called top rated customer service > I have even talked to several managers that state that they will handle it and then drop the ball. If someone with some authority and can get the job done will call me I will be more than happy to explain my situation. Too much to type since the latest has been going on for at least 2 months if not longer. Sad part is we have only had service for less than 6 months. Bottom line someone needs to follow through with their promises to make it all right or just come get your equipment and let's sever our ties. I'm really thinking that no-one will contact me to make this right because no-one that matters cares. I hope that someone proves me wrong but at this point I feel held hostage by Vivint for a looong 5 years. But after reading reviews seems to be the way you operate. Sad.

My Vivint service package was an upgrade from ADT. I got three cameras, a smoke alarm, a fire alarm and a glass break. I already had a system in the house that they hooked up to the doors and windows. The installers did a good job. They were personable and they did it the way I wanted it. It was neat and they did it very quickly. I'm still buying my equipment so when I get it bought, the bill will drop a bit to the standard price.

I heard about Vivint through a friend. I purchased cameras, a motion sensor, window sensors, a CO2 sensor and a key fob from them for basic home security and peace of mind. Their guy that I talked to on the phone was knowledgeable and he helped me out. Also, their installer knew all the products and he knew what he was doing. He was professional. Don't ever purchase Vivint!!! The sales people will say whatever they need to to get you to sign up. I had their service for less than 2 months. I was told I had 90 days to cancel in which I did. I am now being sued by this company for over $5000.00 for breach of contract. The customer service lady I spoke with said that I was told incorrect information that I only had 72 hours and I was supposed to send in $300 for the cancellation fee. They said I signed a 18 page contract and should've read it in there. First, I was only left with 5 papers in which it didn't state that. The salespeople need to be honest and should've told me this upfront. Now I'm going to be out probably thousands on attorney's fees and it has ruined my credit. Thanks Vivint!!

My initial review of this company was great. We were promised 1 free move so we tried to take advantage of it. We sold our house, and moved into an apartment to start looking. We asked for a deferment on this service. Vivint does not know how to do this. Every month for the past 7 months, I have been charged. Every month I have to call them and explain my situation. The one department does not know what the other is doing. Now that I have removed automatic payments, they call me looking for a payment for a service I do not even use. I do not understand this. Alarm.com was a great company. Not Vivint. The collections people they use were not professional at all, and couldn't grasp the deferment process. They have not made good on this "Free Move". I am disappointed in this company.

If I could rate no stars I would. I do not have the system nor will I ever. They came around door to door a year ago and bullied their way into my house while I was very pregnant. My husband asked them to never come back. Today they came back and harassed my 14 and 11 year olds while I was at the store. Making them feel so uncomfortable saying that the company would fire them if they left without talking to an adult. My 14 year old called my husband and he told them to come back at 6. When they came back my husband asked them again to never come back and they said my 14 year old was rude to them. My husband at this point is irate and then they start arguing back and forth. This is a terrible company and their employees are the worst.

I have the alarm and motion sensors from Vivint and I have had an issue with them and I cannot get anyone to fix it. Every time I call, they try to fix it but they could not. The system was supposed to hook to the internet and it keeps disconnecting. It will never stay connected to my network. They just said that it won't work for me. Their whole system is weird because I had to call four places to even get someone to come out. There is only one person who sets up and does all the technician work in my town and I have her on speed dial. She can't do anything until she gets okay from wherever she gets her okay from.
I called her and she came out and tried to fix it. It worked for a day then it stopped working again. Then, I called customer service and they walked me through about five different things, which she had already done then we got disconnected and they never called me back. I have been on hold trying to get a hold of someone for about 45 minutes and I'm not gonna do that again. I haven't heard back from them. I can't cancel my service right now because I spent $700 on all the equipment. I'm really disappointed with Vivint and I don't recommend them to anyone.

After the theft of our fifth wheel trailer we decided to invest a home security system complete with cameras. Unfortunately for us we were pointed to Vivint. The system has never worked properly, not a single day with all cameras functioning, support has been dismal at best. They once told us the exterior camera was not working because it was too cold. Would never recommend any part of this experience to anyone.

I have been a long time customer of Vivint home security. Recently I have had problems with my alarm system. I called Vivint to resolve the problem. I was told my motion detector was bad and they would be sending me a new one. In the mean time Vivint was going to have to deactivate my alarm. The motion detector never arrived. I called and was told it was never sent out. They said it would be sent out again so here I was without home security for several more weeks. Again the motion detector never arrived so this time I called to cancel my service.
I've tried to cancel my service before but Vivint makes it very difficult to do so. They convinced me to hold out a little longer and they would send out a technician free of charge to service my system. I agreed and scheduled an appointment. The day of my scheduled appointment the technician never arrived. After being disappointed yet again by Vivint I called to cancel my service a third time. Vivint once again tried to convince me not to but I was not having it. After turning down all their offers I insisted on canceling my service. Vivint now tells me it will take 30 days to process my cancellation and they will bill me an additional month on top of the monthly payment I just paid. I asked why they were treating me this way and was told, "it's policy". I am very dissatisfied with Vivint equipment, with their alarm system and most of all I am disappointed with their customer service. They lost my business for life!

I have everything Vivint has to offer. I have cameras, a doorbell camera, window sensors, and their regular surveillance. I wanted it for my family especially for my children. I have a special needs child, he's 12 now and he can open the door and get out. So I needed an alarm that lets me know when the doors are open. It has options to let me know when those doors are opened and I like that. The install team was two gentlemen, and they were very friendly and knowledgeable. They explained what they were gonna do and how everything works. They're very knowledgeable. Everything has always been great. I've had a couple of false alarms but they've handled it with urgency. They always check up on me and then follow up. It's a very good company. I would highly recommend them to anybody.

We had a Vivint security system installed last year at our office/residence. The installers, customer service staff and technicians are all very pleasant when we have dealt with them. Unfortunately this system fails to do the job promised i.e. keep my premises secure. We have had somewhere in the range of 15 return visits to try and solve the problem as to why the cameras are failing to stay online.
During that time we have had three know attempted break-ins next to the cameras/door bell areas. Not one was recorded. The latest resulted in a violent assault on myself trying to stop them getting in as again the system failed to record it. The Police were asking for the recording but we had none to show them. In the approximately eight months we have had the system it has worked for no more than two weeks in total. They have offered to let us out of the contract only if we pay them more monies. Recently they have failed to turn up to arranged visits to look at the system. This is one security company to stay clear of.

From the beginning this order was a disaster! They could not activate my panel and advised that I had to be home for them to activate. I took off of work to activate panel 3 hours early and once I got there they were late calling and once it activated I was advised that they had other customers and for me to text a number when I figured it out. After an hour I text the number no one called. I then called customer service and requested to speak to someone. After holding on for 45 minutes they returned and told me the department was closed for the day. After all the waiting the customer service reps were rude, nasty and very unprofessional. They then called and advised that a tech was needed.
The tech was very friendly and resolved most issues other than me adding a doorbell camera that should have been billed to me but they kept a credit card on file that I requested for them to never use again and billed the amount of the camera in full. The only good thing I can say about them is that whenever I have had false alarms because my 4 year old opens the door while armed etc they call immediately to see if everything is ok as well as send a email. Their customer service sucks and if I did not already have their equipment in my home I would have went to a different provider!

I have the system for a short period of time. I have never had a security system installed. Only issue I have is that it is kind of fast. It was so unexpected that when you fill out the paperwork, automatically they are in your doorstep. The rep literally left my home past midnight the same day. Talk about fast service. Wow! But overall till now it’s a good security system.

My friend works for Vivint and he told me about the service then signed me up. I had the doorbell ringer and a camera installed. I went with those to be able to see who's coming to my door. And with the camera, I'm able to monitor the cars on the driveway. However, it's not what I expected it to be. I've had an issue with the doorbell quite a bit and the pricing is not what I was told when I signed up for it. The system had cheap parts and the picture quality is not that great on either one of the cameras. Also, for some reason, whenever I go into the smart panel and change settings, it changes back to what I had before. It's like the camera wants to do its own thing.
The sales representative told me that I was gonna be paying $55 a month for the camera and my bills have been over $70 since I've been paying for it. It's $20 more than what he told me and he supposedly quoted me the price with the taxes, which is $8.25. But as far as the technicians, they're great. Whenever I had someone come out and do the initial install, they were quick and were in and out. Also, the technician was very thorough about explaining everything. The technician was great but the service itself was not. I'm probably gonna cancel my subscription and I won't recommend Vivint.

The Vivint sales rep was knowledgeable and professional and I had a good interaction with him. A guy from Vivint came out for the installation but it took a while and was a little inconvenient. It was a little headache as there were a couple of issues. The tech used some older pieces for the sensors around the doors and they had to come out and redo that. We were happy with everything and I like the thermostat a lot, but we were really not impressed with the overhead garage doors and the doorbell camera. It’s just so slow that we really don’t get to see it and we have a lot of communication error with it, like not being able to be heard. Overall, we’re satisfied with Vivint and I would tell my friends that Vivint's service is good. But I would tell them to stay away from the doorbell camera and the overhead garage door opener thing.

Over a week ago a sales representative showed up to my home and gave me his sales pitch. I advise the sales representative that I will look into it and make a decision with my wife. After looking into your company online and reading your company review and product offer by the company, me and my wife decided to call your company directly and have service install. During the call we were recap our order and agree to a installation appointment for Sunday March 11, 2018 at 10 am. Following day I called your company to confirm the appointment and equipment order due to not receiving the confirmation email.
On the Saturday before my installation day the sales representative was again at my front door asking if me and my wife made up our mind. I explained to him that we had and already called and schedule for installation. The representative then ask if we mention him to the customer service department who took the order which we did. The sales representative then made some call and send some email to make sure he was listed and the sale agent which I assume it was only in his self interest to make sure he received his commission. Afterward sales representative went over my order and to my surprise the Amazon Echo Plus and a camera was not included in my order which I had requested.
Sales agent then went on to state that he will make some calls and call me later once he gets confirmation of the order being correct. He then went confirm my email which was incorrect and could have been the reason why I never received the email confirming my order even though I confirm my email twice when placing the order. The sales representative then advise later that he was able to add the camera but that the Amazon Echo Plus was not able to be provided because your company is out of stock and haven’t had it over a year which was a surprise to me due to it being advertised online and your sales representative brochure and customer service department which stated they place it on my order.
Your sales representative then offer to have my appointment be moved to Saturday at 6 and credit my account a discount of $150 for not being able to provided the Amazon Echo Plus. I then agreed against my own good judgment and waited for the technicians. 6 pm then came and went and still no technicians. The technicians then finally arrived at my home at 9 pm and did a partial installation due to according to the technicians they are not able to install cameras at night and not having all the equipment order.
The technicians then advice for me to call to see if my original appointment was still available. The original appointment was no longer available and I was advise that the only available date was a week out which is unacceptable due to me going on vacation and wanting to have my house secure before departing. The customer service representative then ask to speak with the technicians who then submitted for a appointment between 8-10 am the next day. The technicians then finished at 12 am and departed.
The next day no technicians arrived at my house and 3 hours of my day was wasted waiting. When I called customer service and requested a supervisor only option I was offer was to reschedule for the next available day. I have decided to cancel my service with your company which could not be cancel on a Sunday due to that department being closed and will call on Monday to cancel. I also will be writing my reviews on this awful experience and make sure my friend and neighbors are aware of this poor service.

My Installation date was Feb 21 2018. So far I have not been pleased with the service. System works on and off. Sometimes the cameras work and sometimes they don't. Customer service has been great but a few days after fixing the issue the cameras go offline again. I work out of town for weeks and my family is alone. This is the reason I decided to get a security system in place. Please fix this issue.

A couple of sales guys from Vivint came to my house when I was moving into it and we had an awesome interaction. Then the installers came right away and they all stayed until midnight. I've been with Vivint for at least six months now and included in my service package is the front camera. I have an app on my phone where I can monitor it, but it keeps disconnecting. One thing I don’t like is where the camera is plugged in on my wall. It is a high traffic zone for my children and it keeps getting knocked out and then my camera keeps getting knocked out too. There needs to be better way for it to be more secured to the wall. Other than that, I've always recommended Vivint to a bunch of people. I was a cellphone manager and a lot of people would come to me and ask for alarm systems and I'd show them mine.

A lovely sales rep came to my house and then I've had Vivint for about five years now. The security system was installed and everything went well. The system is efficient but the only problem I had was with the Loyalty Team. I have two homes and I wanted to secure the second home about five months ago. I was trying to get a discount for multi-homes account and they don't have that program which I don't understand. They were very rude, they just stick to the script and all they wanted me to do was to extend the contract. I already insured the second home with someone else, but I was disappointed how Vivint would not budge. They need a better loyalty program for loyal customers.

I have a system of 1 sky control, 2 window sensors, 2 outdoor cameras and 1 doorbell camera. It worked fine for a week or so after installation; however I noticed that the cameras went offline quite a bit. After weeks of rebooting the system to get it to restart, I called for tech support. Since that time, I have had 3 technicians out for a total of 16 hours. This does not include the time spent on countless phone calls with Vivint. Problems have consistently gotten worse with each visit. The cameras continue to go offline frequently and record a black screen for several hours at a time. Vivint refuses to refund the system, so I will be out several hundred dollars. They also informed me that I will now be required to pay $50 for each service call. This is the worst company that I have ever encountered. Save yourself the headache and go with a different security company.

I have one camera that has not worked since installation. The other cameras are continually going offline and cannot be brought back online without a service call. These usually take one week. Every time I call I am told that the tech that is coming out will also fix the camera that has never worked. The techs arrive and respond that they do not have that on their list and will put in a work order. The tech that installed the doorbell installed it crooked. Needless to say, I am not real pleased with the service at this point.

Vivint needs a PC app or a website to be able to control everything. For example, there needs to be a Vivint Doorbell PC notification. If I'm on the PC with headphones on, I can't hear the doorbell so a Vivint doorbell PC controller needs to be added. Also the video quality on their doorbell is AWFUL. Needs to be improved to at least 1080p like the Ring doorbell. Also the subscription is a bit overpriced, everything needs to come down by $10.

My experience from Day 1 with Vivint was excellent. My sales rep was great and friendly. He's a guy that I would drink a beer with. Within 20 minutes of signing the paperwork, we had a tech there to install the system. It was very quick and efficient, which I really appreciated. But, about a month later, I started having problems. I tried calling support and I don’t ever want to do it again. I have now called support four times and have had nothing but an awful experience every single time. Two out of the four times that I've called them, the call has dropped right in the middle of something and they didn't call me back.
The first time I called, I called because I tried to reprogram a new code into my door locks and it wasn’t working. I couldn't program it either from my phone or from my pad in the back. I was on hold for a half hour and once I finally got a hold of somebody, I was on the phone with them for about 25 minutes. They sounded like they didn’t know what they were doing and that they were reading off of a website, which I probably could have done myself.
They walked me through a few steps to try to reset the door locks so that I could program a code but it ended up wiping the programming I had in it altogether. My door locks no longer worked and then the call dropped and they never called me back. I ended up having to call back in again and I was on hold for about 25 minutes. I have gotten somebody to help me out then. Although we were not able to fix the problem, we were able to reprogram my original door code back into doors. But now, all the automatic locks' programming was wiped. It was not working so they had to send out a tech. I thought that it was going to take 48 hours for them to send somebody out but it took about two weeks.
I stayed home from work that day because they had given me a four-hour window and when that window had closed, nobody had shown up. I called them again and I asked what was going on. The people on the phone told me that no appointment was ever booked, which was brutal because I had confirmed the appointment with the person on the phone the first time and received a phone call the next day from a supervisor who gave me a month free for the problems as well as confirmed my appointment again.
I booked another appointment and they tried to book it for the middle of the day again. I said that I was not missing work again for them. It took another week and a half before they were able to send somebody out. The experience was fine once the tech arrived on site. He was excellent and knowledgeable. Moreover, he was able to fix the problems that we were having and I haven't had any problems with the door locks since then. The customer service that I've had with them has been absolutely dreadful. I called back a second time because I was pissed off and they ended up giving me two months free.
There were a few things that I bought because I thought it would be really convenient to have, but it turned out that it either doesn’t work properly or nobody knows how to make it work properly. The doorbell camera has been a complete waste of money. It would pick up cars driving by at one o'clock in the morning but it won't pick up somebody walking up my driveway. It's so finicky and every single time I've had somebody come to fix it or look at it, they said that it was just the settings and I just needed to play around with it.
Nobody really knows how to set it up so that it would pick somebody up every time they were walking up the walkway. Outside of that, the door locks have been fine when they've been working. However, one can go and buy door locks like that at Home Depot for a lot less. If I could do it all over again, I would remove a lot of the extras that I bought. I wouldn't get the doorbell camera and the sensors in the basement. The door locks are the only thing that we actually appreciate and use. The monitoring and response time has been fine. I've accidentally set the alarm off a couple of times and they've called me within one minute of the alarm going off. Overall, for what I'm are paying, I would not recommend Vivint.

We've had a few problems with our Vivnt system. The touchpad is about to go out and the speakers drop out when the lady talks then it comes back in when it starts beeping. We've also had the motion sensors go off a few times when the alarm is set. I’ve spoken to them about it but being a customer for almost 10 years, I don't think I should have to pay for them to come out. Their customer service isn't really that great. They just want to get as many houses with their alarm as possible but they're not willing to help out the customers as much as they want to spread their company around.

Vivint is awful in every which way. The technician was awful and lazy...showed up unprepared and didn’t have all the items I ordered, caught him leaned up against my hallway wall on Facebook during installation, he refused to train me on the system, he refused to test the system- he left, the system didn’t work at all. The panel and the app said I had windows and doors open, but the panel information differed from what the app said- and neither were correct. Customer Service is even worse...they accidentally cancelled an appointment that I had planned on then didn’t have enough manpower to correct their mistake. In a nutshell- Vivint acts as a start up business. Their ideas are good, but they don’t have them dialed in yet. All their technology is the newest on the market, but Vivint themselves haven’t even figured out all the bugs yet. I went with ADT...it works 100% of the time and is about $20 cheaper per month.

I had heard a lot of bad things about Vivint. Read a lot of bad things about Vivint. I figured I was going to be exception to the rule and would get great service. My brother in law who worked for them years ago checked their rating on BBB and they had an “F”. I was in complete denial and was like no my experience will be different. To my embarrassment I was completely wrong. I had an appointment for installation on one day from 12-4, and was called at 3:45 to be told that they were tied up at another customer's home and they’d be a little late. The guy showed up at 7:30pm and now it’s dark. He tried to set up the Nest Thermostat on the 2nd floor which malfunctioned and he decided to use his Element Thermostat and said “we will come back to fix this, until then use this one.” At this point it has been extremely cold and the Thermostat was not turning on the heater. He said "text me as soon as the heater turns on."
As we are heading back downstairs he said he couldn’t install the camera on the side of the House because it was dark and he couldn’t calibrate it. I wasn’t happy about it but what was I going to do. So I said, "Okay. I need this setup ASAP because the person tried breaking into my home on the side of the house where I need the camera." He looked at his tablet and said, "Oh I must have had a cancellation because I can personally be here tomorrow between 12-4 to finish and I’ll bring a technician to fix the Thermostat if it doesn’t turn on." I said okay and he left at 10:30. It was cold all night and the heater never turned on. 58 degrees to sleep. I text the technician and let him know that the heater never turned back on. I have 3 young boys so needless to say I was upset.
The next day I’m at work and I get a call from my wife at 3:45 telling me no one has shown up. Since the technician told me the day before that he would be the one personally to finish the job I call him. No answer. Texted him and got no answer. 4:10 rolls around and I get a phone call from their scheduling department. They tell me that someone should have called me and they apologize it’s a coaching moment but I have been rescheduled. The date they gave me wasn’t for another 6 days.
Now I am extremely upset...no heater and an unfinished alarm system. This was ridiculous! So I ask to speak to the supervisor and I tell him, "I want to cancel and you need to get someone out to the house ASAP to fix my heater." He has the nerve to ask me if my heater worked before the technician. Of course it did!! He starts chuckling on the phone while I’m frustrated out of my mind and tells me that they are going to have the same technician who didn’t show up to the appointment or finish what he started call to have someone go out to fix the heater but couldn’t tell me when that was going to happen. Seriously?!?! I said I wanted to cancel the service and quickly he says, "Okay. Let me get you to the cancellation department." I put my old thermostat back on that night and the heater worked immediately.
Here we are two weeks later. I’ve cancelled the services but still have their product in my home. Hope they come and get it out. Don’t make the same mistake I did and think you're the exception to the rule. Stay away from Vivint. I can’t even recommend another security system. I have looked into putting the system together myself...that’s what I’d recommend!

The doorbell camera motion sensors don’t always work. I’ll let my dog out, stand and move around directly in front of the camera and it will record probably 3 times out of 10. When a visitor comes, the camera won’t even detect that someone was there. An example, last night 2 men came to to the door and were standing there for about 10 minutes. Obviously nerve racking as they were strangers. They rang the doorbell twice. The camera DID record the 30 seconds of each doorbell ring. But it SHOULD have been recording the entire 10 minutes they were outside of my door. How many times have people been standing outside of my door without me knowing because of a glitchy system!? The visitor detection settings have been updated & changed to every possible configuration, doorbell cam & panel rebooted, etc etc.
I also believe that the night vision the camera is supposed to have doesn’t work. I can barely see anything out of it when it’s dark out. No way would I be able to see someone’s face as it is. 1 star for the times the system does work but what an expensive hassle for a system that is supposed to give me peace of mind. I’ve had the system installed for 6 months & should NOT be having problems like this, especially for the amount of money we pay. If I want someone to come and “fix” it, I’ll be charged even more money for them to come and diagnose a problem with their own system.

I was moving in and Vivint's door-to-door salesmen approached me. They were quite personable, and the main guy said that I'd get a deal because I'm on a corner lot. I already agreed to it, but he kept pushing his sales pitch for two hours because he had a trainee with him. They didn't leave my house until 1:00 in the morning. It was annoying. But I liked the idea of using the cellphone to remotely unlock the house. I also figured it would save a little bit on insurance. However, the rep was trying too hard to push the issue of all that you save on energy but in reality, not really. I just leave it all the time anyway.
The guy that did the installation showed up so late, and there were issues with installing the system. A lot of the stuff wasn't working. Moreover, the modifications they did to the door caused it to whistle from the wind because they filed away too much of the latch to get the lock installed. So now, I have to fix the door. In addition, there's usually someone home so I didn't really need that security feature in the end.
I've been with them since May and it's working as intended even though I don't really arm the system. I have all the windows and doors, but I didn't get the video camera for the door. In addition, a lot of it was a pre-installed by a prior owner. I do everything through the Nest. I was going to cancel completely when I first got it, which I was given a week for. Then for whatever reason, I called back again and never did. All in all, it wasn't that good of an experience and I regret getting Vivint.

Vivint's customer service was poor. My tenant called to get a price estimate on a feature and Vivint ended up billing me for the feature even though they never installed it. It said "estimate" on their thing and yet they were billing for it. It even took two calls of my time and I had to go to a second level of support with them to get it resolved. That was unfortunate. My time is important to myself. For something that was simple, I didn't think it needed two calls and staying on hold. They ended up correcting it but they never should've done it and it shouldn't have to go to second level of support when it was their issue in the first place. Aside from that, I've been with Vivint for seven years and I'm happy with the service.

Had the system installed yesterday. The installers were super friendly guys, but did sloppy work. They had to put 3 holes into the exterior of my house and spackled them, but it's super sloppy and the wires are exposed. Made me feel kinda guilty my house was a hard install where I wanted it. But can't complain about the service, other than my driveway camera occasionally goes offline and won't reboot without rebooting the entire system.

My package from Vivint includes a doorbell camera, a motion sensor and the door alarms. They seemed to be what best serves my needs in my house. They sent a consultant out to give me options that were recommended and they seemed like the best choices. Their sales rep was very friendly, knowledgeable, low pressure which I liked and explained everything in detail.
So far, I'm extremely satisfied with their service. Now, I have a higher sense of security, especially with my doorbell camera. I’ve had packages stolen and was able to capture a video of the person stealing the package and provide it to the police because I have the service. Also, anytime I call with some glitches or just questions, they’ve always answered, always been very helpful and always been incredibly responsive.

The Vivint system is user-friendly and very accurate. We have the inside camera, the doorbell camera and the sound thingy that's on the wall. We got those features for more protection. At the previous place we were at, my husband's car got vandalized and we were trying to minimize things like that. I love the fact that you can see whoever's at your door from wherever you are with the Vivint system. More safety provides peace of mind. We can even add other options. For instance, we just added a thermostat but we also had outside lights that are Wi-Fi connected, so we connected that to the system as well. That way, we don't have to be home to turn on the lights. The system is working really well and I love the service. When I spoke with the Vivint team, they also went above and beyond to help. Keep doing what you're doing, Vivint.

I saw that my neighbor had the alarm system of Vivint. And I was interested in getting a different pricing. Their sales rep was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I got the cameras -- indoor and outdoor, and all the windows and doorways. I had the thermostat too. As of right now, the service is not bad. However, I was a little upset in the beginning because I had to reboot the system a few times because some of the cameras always went offline especially the more important ones. And that took a minute of work.
The cameras which were pointing at my work vehicle, those always went out. And that’s the reason why I got the cameras, to have my work truck under control like that but these cameras always somehow just went offline. I called the first two times. But I just rebooted the system every time. Also, in the description, it tells you to unplug your cameras and just turn off the receiver. But I figured it out after a few times trying it out that rebooting the system works out a lot better than doing that step-by-step troubleshooting. But now, it’s been good. There was no problem.

We have two cameras and a key fob from Vivint for security purposes and to protect us better in our own home. The installation team explained everything and told us that if we have more issues then they'd come back out and try and resolve the issues that day. Last year, my dad and I have had a lot of complications with Vivint, especially having to get a new panel in because the cell went out on our old panel. Also in having to get a different camera since we were always having trouble with our cameras and they're always offline. Most of the time, the representatives walk us through to try and put our cameras back up online or to help us with the key fob. Sometimes it get results but sometimes it doesn't.
When Vivint has to send a tech out, then they'll send a tech out and it will work for a little bit but then it'll go right back out in every couple months and we'll do the process all over again. Finally, we realized something was wrong with the panel because the security system went off one day and we couldn't turn it off. We didn't know how to get it off, so my dad had to take it off manually from the wall to get it to stop going off because its cell was malfunctioning. The technicians who come usually talk to us and tell us what they're doing and how they're going to try and help us. And if that doesn't work then they'll try something new and go from there. Our experience with Vivint hasn't been too good in the last year but we recommended my brother to get them and he now has them.

Vivint is behind in Technology. Their Sky Panel can only handle 2.4ghz and is not capable of handling 4 cameras. I have had them 3 years and freezing, cameras going offline, doorbell camera not working. Ring doorbell camera is 5ghz and works faster, need camera is 5ghz and live is faster. VIVINT three years ago was ahead of the game. THEY ARE NOW THE PAST. BUYER BEWARE, Their current panel stinks, they need a new panel that can handle all the changes. Their techs all have said their panels cannot keep up, their contract says that cameras and other equipment is not guaranteed to work. So cameras don't work. "That is too bad," they said.

A friend had good experience with Vivint and referred them to us. The installation team were very professional, explained everything to a point where we understood it and made sure we didn't have any questions when they left. So far we're very, very happy. Everything works as claimed, if not, better and all of their folks have been very professional and have responded immediately to any needs. The guy that owned the funeral home had Vivint installed at his house and he liked it, so he wanted to install it in one of our business that we had together. The business was sometimes unoccupied and I wanted to make sure it protects our investment there, so our service package had a camera and the regular monitoring on some door alarms and all that type. The installer was really good and he went over all the equipment and everything with us. The equipment had very good quality and everything had been working great. We've had Vivint for about six months and I'm very satisfied with the service. They do a good job and I like the way the screen is all digital and it's easy to work with the interface.

I flip houses and usually the house is empty until we start doing the construction so have to have some security system. I was looking at Vivint Security and I always spoke with my cousin who works with them. He was saying that they don't usually get in during the construction because it's a heavy duty area. But it was not a heavy duty area. We were almost finishing the project. Still, when these people came in, they didn't even say anything. There were okay with everything and it was more than what I expected. They knew everything like how the system works. They did not just install. They showed me everything. Then if I had more questions, I just give them a call and they're helpful. Last time, I had some questions about the sensor and they had good knowledge. They explained how the system works.
I have a driveway camera, a doorbell camera and the door key. If you put a number, you open the door. I also have all the windows and all the doors equipped with a sensor. Then I have the monitor where I can see everything in my house and I can access everything from my phone. I get notification if somebody's in the driveway or if somebody's coming in. I can see everything and talk to them too. The contractor might come fix something or somebody might break in. Sometimes I can even see people who intended to stop by the house but they see the camera or the Vivint sign and they walk away. I have some videos that are like that and I laugh away with myself.
It's good service and they exceeded my need. I'm using it right now on an investment property so I'm not going to have the system forever. I'm going to sell the property. I told them what I needed and they let me purchase the equipment. I'm only paying for the service right now. Then the next buyer for the house, he can take over the service and continue so it's a very nice set up.

I chose to go with Vivint after one of my clients showed me how much she liked her Vivint system and now, we love them too. Their equipment works really well. We have door-window sensors, a front door doorbell and camera, and a backyard camera. I work from home as a pet sitter so I want eyes on my house at all times even when I'm not home. My husband likes the security of having cameras too. Vivint is fairly cheap compared to some other security companies, and they have great customer service. When we had a minor issue with our system, they were really quick to fix it. And the lady who installed our system for us two years ago was very quick and nice as well. She made sure everything was cleaned up before she left.

We decided that we needed more home protection from Vivint and our service package includes the security, thermostat, two outdoor cameras, the doorbell camera, and some motion sensors. In the beginning, the installation was pretty sloppy. The guy who came out had to drill through our wall for the panel and he left a bunch of dust everywhere. Then he crushed this thing that goes over the spigot and just left it there. We still have some of the trash and boxes that the guy left behind.
The guy also didn’t install the thermostat properly. It would continuously disconnect from the panel. So we had to have three separate appointments to get the thermostat working properly. Then we were misguided on to the record time of the video. We were told that on motion, it would record for a long period of time or if it was retriggered, it would continue to record. But we had issues where it would record for 30 seconds or the time limit that it has then it wouldn't record afterwards even if there was motion still going. So it's not what we expected and that's pretty disappointing. And if anyone would ask me about Vivint, I'd tell them to look elsewhere.

I have to say that Vivint is amazing. We got it installed on the 19th of Feb. At 4:35 Feb 21 we woke up to gunshots four houses down from us. The position that I have my camera and to watch my driveway I also picked up down the street towards the corner where this house was located and it was able to pick up the car that was doing the drive-by shooting on the house. The detective took the video and was completely amazed with how clear the footage was and the HD quality of the picture as well as the color. They were able to use this to locate the suspect vehicle. I would totally recommend this system to anyone that’s looking for a good quality security. System package that I got was reasonably priced per month.

I was having problems with the prior security company that was very poorly supporting everything. And to keep an eye on the neighborhood, I purchased the basic service package from Vivint. Plus, it has the smoke alarm, the doorbell camera, and one other camera. It took half a day to complete the installation which is a little long but I understand. Also, I've had a few problems with the security cameras going offline and I had to call but they've taken care of it and gotten it up and going right away. They're an awesome company to work with compared to the last one I was working with.

Vivint is a good and reliable company, and I would recommend it to a friend. I had seen a couple of my neighbors having Vivint and that was how I came about using the service. The sales reps did a good job too. They took care of what they needed to take care of and they explained to us what needed to be explained. Everything was also good with the installation. The installers prepared what they needed to handle and then let us know what they replaced and walked us through it. We have the motion sensors, the camera, the panel and a couple of other things, and those features worked out good. I'm able to see my cameras on my phone and I can speak to somebody in front of the door through the panel. When somebody comes into my garage, I have a camera there too, so it works out perfectly.

Vivint was recommended by my son in law. I travel a lot so I wanted to make sure the is house armed. I got every security features one has got to have. I have two external cameras, a doorbell camera, wood fences, carbon monoxide and motion detector. If I have a problem they immediately handle the situation. They did a great job. I had recommend them to my brother, my brother in law and everybody who asked me.

I got a good deal on Vivint, and that's what has kept me around for 20 years. Their service is great and they're a good business. Their team is kind of annoying because they're nice. It's like when I call Amazon, everybody's so nice and sweet but I just want to get down to business. Overall, I'd definitely recommend.

A friend of mine was happy with Vivint and so I went with it, too. It seemed like the right thing to do at that time. I got a standard package with the doorbell camera and I've had it for almost a year now. But I was having some problems with the equipment, especially with the doorbell camera. At first, it was going off for everything. They came back to adjust it and it was working fine for a minute, and after that, it stopped working. It was not going off when people were going to the door. So Vivint sent somebody out to try to fix it. But they never told me I was going to get charged, and they charged me 70 bucks on my next bill. I asked them what it was for and they said it was for the service fee. I was like, “Well, you guys never explained that, because if you got an equipment, it's supposed to be working as I'm paying monthly.” So I went through that whole ordeal and that really upset me.
Afterwards, they took the chargeback but made it seem like they were doing me this big favor. I really did not care for that part of the customer service. And so if anyone’s to ask me about Vivint, I would tell them that there is a lot of other stuff out there that is similar to Vivint where they won’t have to pay $70 a month. I would have gone that route instead of going with Vivint.

It was perfect with Vivint's installation team and they were courteous. The installation took a while because they had to renew, program and name each window in relation to the east and west. Those are time-consuming. But as far as doing their job, they did pretty well. I've got sensors all over the windows and doors and a camera on the front door embedded in a bell. I also have a monitor and an app. Wherever I go, I can monitor any status of security around my parameter. When you leave your house and you lock the door, you still don't know and having these features is an added peace of mind.
The customer service reps are in-depth and easy to get a hold of. Anytime that I called, I never had the slightest sense of being brushed off and I've never had to call them twice. Right off the bat, when I ask them a question, they quoted me back to the right people. They don't answer just to be answering. If it's technical, they say, "Hey, hold on. Let me get one. And so, he's our technical guy or gal." They direct you to the person in the know of your question. And they're more than willing to answer it.
There was one time, I've had their system over a couple of years by then, they have those small little flat batteries and over time, they lose their strength. Their system is set up that you get a notification on your app pinpointing which sensor the battery is weak. When I called them, it was no problem and they came out with a battery. They installed it for me and it was easy. I asked the guy to show me how to do it because I have a bunch of those batteries and I wouldn't need to call him for that. He said, "Hey, if you know how to do it, do it. If not, call us. We come out there do it." They're pretty good so far and I haven't had any problems with it.

Vivint is great. The sales reps came to our front door and sold us the system. The installers came that day and installed everything the same day as the sale. Everything was good. I like the accessibility with the app. We've had a great experience and we'd recommend them.

When it works it works well. Initially the guy took 9 hours to install but left the front door ringer set terrible. The wires are exposed. Not professional looking. Anyone can pull the wires. The garage overhead door was installed but fell off 10 minutes after because he initially forced it off then it didn't stick well. The following week someone else came and screwed it on. As of Friday the doorbell doesn't record. I'm from Primerica we have a partnership and though I like it when it works the doorbell looks terrible.

The security system that I was already with didn’t have the technology that Vivint has. I love the cameras and the lock. I'm satisfied with service we had through the Vivint rep. They guaranteed to work the features out and they did. I'm glad I did not cancel because we need the service. The initial installation took four hours but everything else was shorter. I would highly recommend Vivint to my friends and tell them that they won't regret it. It is a great protection for their home.

Coming from ADT, Vivint is taking it to another level. The equipments are high quality. My wife thinks it’s a cross breed between Tiffany Jewelry and Apple product. It’s classy, elegant and current. I just wish they find a way to limit the cameras allowed. They’re only allowing 6 cameras per Unit. I guess the system is limited for now. I’m sure they will find a way to overcome that issue someday. Also, the touch screens will turn off automatically. There’s no Setting to turn it on all the time. That’s one thing I like about ADT. Their screens are always on without any issue. They should at least add a panel setting where it turns ON automatically when the door opens without pressing a button. So far I like everything, it hasn’t given us any problems yet. I’m sure they’re always upgrading and trying to find solutions for consumers. Great job!!!

I have given this company at least 100 hours troubleshooting, calling, waiting on hold, taking off from work and so it goes for the last 3 plus years. I have a system with most everything you can get including 5 pings. I also made the mistake of putting them in my office. I had a perfectly working Alarm.com and believed the great sales rep that Vivint had the best technology. This is not true. Essentially from day one, there was something wrong...I am pretty tech aware and often found myself having to correct the telephone support folks as they did not have it right.
On average something goes wrong weekly, maybe just briefly and often requiring a phone, re-boot, tech call. I have finally had my fill and just want the gear out. They have COST me more than you know. Stay away from this firm. Their product does ok with a simple or small system but forget about the one with all the features. Their intentions might be grand but they have a ways to go in achieving their dream. Until then you will greater peace of mind, save some money, and most important have a system that works while not having to give up a 100 hours of your time that one can never get back.

We're satisfied with Vivint's system features. But it's a hit or miss when it comes to the reps. There was one of their mobile people who dared me to leave Vivint and then one of their technicians was very rude. Even though their central office already firmly scheduled an installation he tried to convince me that he can't come and tried to reschedule it himself and I said, "No, you can't do that." But one person tried to correct what he previously told me because he was trying to force me to work with his schedule, not my schedule.
They need to expand their customer service accessibility. They state on their website that it's 24 hours, seven days a week but when I call I would spend like 45 minutes, close to an hour just to wait for someone to answer. Their customer service department is so difficult to reach. So if a friend should ask about them I would say, "Be careful. Just ask all the questions that you need answered and only get the ones that you need."

When we bought our house, the realtor had Vivint and gave me her contact. She really liked it and then I have another friend who has it too. The other big security place was horrible so I went with Vivint. I have their cameras, the glass break and our doorbell. I got these features because I have kids and I needed them. However, my system has gone down several times. I've had technicians come out. Vivint sent a security technician to my house that I was definitely not letting in my home in an unmarked car. And then I had customer service, and they're just horrible. I called up and told them I have one camera that's off. They ended up shutting all my cameras down and somehow my Wi-Fi got this erased. I had to call my friend that's a technician, and he came and fixed it. I couldn't get anyone out to me until Saturday. They only work till 4:00 and that's ridiculous.
Their customer service was not helpful at all. I talked to a supervisor and he was just as rude as the customer service rep. After that technician that they sent who looked trash, I told them I don't want anyone that they send. I have my realtor who suggested me to go through them. She has a guy that sold it to her and he has a tech that he uses that comes out and works for Vivint. That's the only one let my house. Vivint's customer service should know their system. They should know how to work it. I've had people that I've had like, "Okay, thanks. Have a good day." And I'll call back and get another technician that knows more.
Overall, the protection that I've had has been great. But the system's not as good as I was told of it is. I'm just not satisfied right now. And then when they first came out I told them I wanted one in my garage and they never did. And then later on they came out and said, "Oh, we have to do this one.” I have been calling them for months to do it.
