Switching to Vivint was an easy decision after all the benefits were explained to us. The high-tech, Smart Home technology is so easy to use and definitely worth the money. Being able to check on the house without driving all the way home give great peace of mind. Signing up and the installation process was super simple and everyone we have dealt with has been both personable and professional! Definitely a great decision to add Vivint in our home.

Waited for 2 weeks for them to complete an installation. The tech overloaded my WiFi box and all of my tv service blew out for the night. The representative promised me a free camera to keep me and then retracted!

I cannot get over how wonderful my experience was with the installation of the security system. Not only do I feel much safer with having that installed in the house but Brad was wonderful. He was professional and extremely helpful showing me how to use the system. He offered advice as to where he thought the best placement for the cameras were and did such an awesome job showing me how to use everything. He was fantastic! I highly recommend this system and Brad for installation! I was very impressed!!

I've been with Vivint for almost a year and they're doing well. Vivint's guys are good salespeople. They got me in trouble with my family because they are so smart selling all different ideas of why we have to use it. Still, I give credit to their team. They did a great job. The installation was good as well. There are two friends that moved in and I told them about Vivint and why it's important. They like to see me playing with my phone opening it and closing my doors. It feels cool and I could tell from the way they look at the system, it's time that they wanna have it and have theirs working the same way.

Vivint's sales rep explained how the system works and explained everything really good to us. I like being able to see who’s coming to my house. We had put in wiring already for the installer to make it easier for them and to make sure that we got it where we wanted it. The installer explained everything to us again and some things that we might have forgot, how you use it and everything else. He would help us if we needed it. I really like the system and I talked to a lot of people interested. It’s awesome and you can keep adding whatever features that you want to it when you’re ready for it.

I got Vivint's glass breakage and door entry in my package as they were things I was interested in. The last time I had the serviceman out here, I had a glass breakage on the entry door and he replaced the battery on it, but the next morning it didn’t work. I've put it on email and sent it, but they ignored it so it's still sitting there and not working.

They were able to upgrade our current system for roughly the same price. Very friendly sales representative and the install happened same day with and was over pretty quick. So far very happy with our new security system. I would recommend listing to what they have to say or checking them out in your area. The referral program sounds great as well.

We had good installation and the salesman was very knowledgeable. We only had one glitch when the alarm armed itself and we had to try to disarm it several times before it went off. We haven't got Internet yet so can't comment on the phone camera yet. But so far so good.

Not happy with the sound system. After it was installed I was not happy with how low the sound is and you don't have a way to set the system on stay instinct. You need two panels to hear on a multi level home. My old system I didn't. The installer went over everything with me great but it is too expensive not to work the way I thought it would.

We had a new modem install for our internet and the nest thermostat stopped working and we cannot connect to the new internet modem. We can no longer turn on the air conditioning and I called Vivint 800 number to get help. The online consultant was very helpful but, she could not get us back online. She set up a visit by a tech but, we will have to wait ten days for the tech to arrive. In the meantime, we have no air conditioning and we cannot access the cameras online.

Love the system. A few bumps with the initial installation but I could not be happier. I love the security it provides and how easy it is to access. Kids are also great at using it because it's very user friendly.

I installed Vivint Smart Home about 4 months ago and the first month had a few hiccups with my indoor camera but eventually resolved after 5+ calls into support. Fast forward to a month ago and my cameras are constantly going on and offline. I know the system is working because it's never all the cameras. Just one at a time here and there. We are having construction done at the house and that was one of the main reasons we got this system, now my backyard camera is again offline. I can't be home to do a hour long troubleshoot with support so there is nothing that can be done.
If I want someone to come out there is a fee which is incredibly frustrating. I feel for the higher cost of Vivint and the fact you can only use their product and it's not compatible with any other system. You are stuck once you sign your contract and they are less than eager to make sure the system is running properly because you are stuck in a contract so they have zero sense of urgency to fix because they will get their money anyways. The fact that you can troubleshoot without being home is difficult because the entire reason we got the system is because we work quite a bit and if we have contractors or something going on at the house we can't physically be there. The response is always, "We are pushing out an update," or, "Sorry if you aren't home. All we can do is reboot the router."

I was a ADT customer for almost three years. So far Vivint is everything I want and ask for. I had some technical issues with a sensor and it got fixed right away not to mention the quick response from the monitor.

Our outside camera isn’t that good and constantly goes off. Also I paid for raceway to cover cord and it doesn’t look good and no reimbursement for 5 pieces at $5 each. Needs to be just caulked to woodwork. Other than that I love it. Much safer house.

Vivint's representatives came to my house and they were great. They were nice and were able to convince me to buy their equipment. They installed it in a day and it took them up until the late hours of the night to get it done. Right now, we keep having problems with it and we keep having stuff replaced, but we like it. It works most of the time and they try to troubleshoot it over the phone. If not, they send somebody out. There have been times when they cancel an appointment and they get it done for three weeks. And in that amount of time, the cameras or the garage door opener wouldn’t work until they are fixed. But the burglar alarm does work. Overall, Vivint has a good modern technology and I like the system, the cameras, the garage door opener, and the app.

I looked into getting a home security system for safety reasons and Vivint was high-tech so I got a package that includes some cameras. It was customized and I’ve had it for three months. The reps were nice and everything with the installation went fine. Someone came to my door last night. I don’t know if I’m talking to the wrong person about 8:38 pm or if if it was a dog and if the camera wasn’t on right. I turned it on later. Vivint rang my doorbell about four or five times and they appeared. So I’m wondering if this security is good. I also called the neighbor and asked her if she has seen anybody but she said the same thing. The lady also told me that my phone needs a reboot and that’s what I’m doing right now. I need to call them back and have them help me to get it to work. Nevertheless, I would tell others that Vivint is good.

The installer was wonderful and very knowledgeable. He told me what he was doing step by step. It was good working with him. I love the features of my service. I didn't hear a window breaking before and I like that if my alarm goes off, I'm ready to speak to a representative through the keypad. You feel safer knowing they can zoom in and hear what's going on in your house.
Vivint is a good system. It has gone off by accident twice when I'm in the kitchen working. I tried to get ice out of my refrigerator from the ice maker with my teacup and it was making a noise like it's glass breaking so my alarm would go off, and Vivint's representatives have always been prompt responding immediately to the alarm. I have recommended the service to my other brother who lives in Atlanta.

I got Vivint for the cost and their integrated equipment. The quality of the features in our system is good and the reps have been awesome. They reach out every time I forget to turn off the alarm or can't get through it fast enough, and their response time is good. I've been with them for about nine months now and it's been going good as well. I'd recommend Vivint and I've already gotten two friends to get on it.

Several phone calls, e-mail confirmation to have this system removed from our house and no response. Tech has returned 3 times to get system to work, still not working properly, promises from salesperson, and additional equipment added. Enough already. Communication and action would be appreciated.

I cannot download or print out e-mailed materials due to problems with my computer. I have tried phone numbers listed in e-mails and gotten number disconnected messages. Cannot use cell phone and cannot contact anyone for instructions. Do not like the service and want it disconnected within the 30 day no charge period. (I am senior citizen.) I like Vivint’s panel but I've had some issues. When I signed up, they gave me the inside camera for free and I have a camera in my basement, the camera upstairs, and the motion detectors. When they did the installation, I just moved into my home and didn’t have any window treatment. Since then, I'd put up window blinds and there was no use for the internal camera to look outside, which was its purpose. I called back to tell them this and to see if they could switch it with something else, and they weren’t willing to do anything.
They just kept quoting me the full price of everything, which was a little disheartening to the point where I was looking to go with another company until I realized I was under a five-year contract with Vivint. I ended up buying the Ring doorbell because Vivint wouldn't help me. But somebody has always called in through the panel when we set off the alarm by accident opening up the back door. So I know it works and I'm not worried about our security on that end.

One of my real estate clients moved out and couldn’t take Vivint with him. They needed to be bought out of the contract and I got stuck taking over. Their reps tried to be good but they clearly had no clue as to what they were supposed to be doing so it wasn't an easy experience. They tried to reinstall in the house that was being moved out of and it became a 14-hour day to get it installed. But they finally did it so that was fine. I've had issues and sometimes, the people they send aren't as skilled as they could be but they come when I ask them to. It had been frustrating because I continue to have issues, specifically, with my camera and doorbell. So, I'll tell them again and they’ll send somebody out. Their people are always very nice and professional. As long as the features all operate properly, they are nice. I love the app that lets me arm and disarm from my phone. I have a gazillion sensors everywhere and glass break so I feel like it's a good system.

Just got the Vivint Smart Home system installed. I am very pleased so far. The system makes securing your home so simple. I am already contemplating adding additional items to the system! My only concern is that I had to reboot the panel already, because it was showing that my garage door was open when it was not. That fixed it and all is well.

Marty was very thorough and patient. He explained the whole system, how it works and what it protected. He was very knowledgeable and efficient in his work. I have already recommended him and will continue to do so. I had ADT for 8 years and they were way more expensive and offered less equipment. The camera also gives us a sense of security knowing who is on the other side of the door.

My husband is gone a lot for work and this system really helps our family feel safe. I love the doorbell feature, being able to see who's at the door when I'm at work has put my mind at ease. Even being able to watch for the kids coming home from school while I'm at work is a big relief as well. I've recommended this to co workers as well!

I called them on the phone, they got me set up, answered my questions and then followed up. It was a good experience. What they offered was what I was looking for and it matched my ADT Pulse system. The only difference was Vivint was more affordable. Also, I'm very satisfied with the service.
The installers were having some issues doing doing something at somewhere else so they knew they were gonna be late, so instead of just showing up with one guy, they showed up with extra people to help them get the job done on time. And they had a little bit of work here since I had an older system but they got it all done within about four hours.

Vivint’s service is horrible and I'm about ready to cancel. I've had it for two and a half months now and I’ve had nothing but problems with it. I had a problem with the outside cameras because they weren't getting enough power and they've changed those to new style cameras which seem to be working okay now. But I'm still having some issues with my inside camera. It's been better since day one but after two and a half months, it’s still not working properly. It's really aggravating.
Part of the problem had to do with a couple of the installers. I've had about seven different installers at the house changing things and I don't even know what a couple of them were doing. They shut my air conditioning system down for two days. They had left wires unhooked and the air conditioning system was just running off of batteries. It might have just died out and then there was no air conditioning. It was 90 degrees out so I couldn’t live without air conditioning. Otherwise, the service has been okay. They’ve tried and done everything they could have possibly done. But they think things are working again and then a couple of days later, it's out of service or it's offline and not working. It's been a nightmare.

The previous owner of the house that I bought had Vivint and I just carried it over. Its features fulfill all the needs that I have. The best part is the app on the phone as it makes it really nice to be able to turn the alarm on when I forgot or work with the thermostat when I’m out-of-town. The only thing that was a little frustrating was their installer. I thought he did a good job but then I got a phone call from Vivint saying that my installation wasn’t completed, so they had to send someone else out. So, that was an extra half a day that I had to sit around and wait.
Also, neither of those two installation folks had the correct paperwork in terms of what I was getting. I had to instruct them on what I was getting, which also resulted in extra charges. So, I had to call Vivint but it all worked out in the end. I didn’t have to pay and I got the rates that I was promised but it was more than half of what I wanted it to be. The service since then had been fantastic though.

I received sensors for all my doors and windows, a couple cameras and a carbon monoxide fire detector from Vivint and I'm satisfied with their service. I've been with them for less than a year and their customer service has been great. As far as the sales department, I was interested in adding another piece of equipment but the price they wanted to come back out and install that equipment was extremely high. It was almost like I should have gotten everything done at one time. But other than that, the installation was quick. Sometimes, I had a few false alarms and their response time was great.

The reps at Vivint were very helpful. They let me know what they offered and what I was eligible for, and we just went from there. The installers were real nice guys too. Then when we were having an issue with one of the outside cameras, the techs came to find that it needed a booster on it. And since they've done that, it's clearer as can be and it's awesome. I'm very satisfied and would definitely recommend Vivint.

From day one we’ve had issues with the cameras communicating with the panel. I’ve spent hours on the phone with tech support uninstalling and reinstalling cameras (internet connection speed not the issue). Customer Service reps are great if you want to wait 15-20 min each time you call before a live person picks up the phone. Keep your fingers crossed that rep is a “camera specialist” or after an additional 5-10 min of wasting your time you’re back on hold waiting for someone who knows cameras. When you spend this kind of money on a system and a service tech installs everything you should not have issues like this. Save your money and your sanity... Go with another service!

Our security package with Vivint includes standard carbon monoxide, smoke detectors, as well as door and window sensors. We also have a doorbell camera, the thermostat and remote, which you can use your phone app with. And we have the main keypad as well. However, we aren’t super-happy with the system all the time because it doesn’t work properly a lot. There always seems to be something wrong with it, and we’re interested in cancelling it.
We mostly have connectivity issues, and sometimes we’re not able to adjust our heat, and there have been other things too. The last few times that the guys were here, they didn’t ask for a service charge because we’ve been having a lot of trouble. But typically they do. I’ve had a few times over the last few years where I wanted some things looked at and there’s always service fees. And that’s been a sore spot for me because if something doesn’t work, I don’t feel I need to pay a $50 service charge because I’ve been paying my monthly bill for services that I’m not getting. And we’re supposed to be bound to the contract, but Vivint is not holding their end of the deal. Though the repair people have been nice, nothing ever really gets fixed. Or it might be a temporary fix and then something would happen again. So, I’m not a happy customer.

Vivint's technology was a bit better than any of the competition. They had more options to give me better access to my house when I'm not there like the doorbell camera, some cameras that I can communicate with my kids when I'm not home, and the ability to control my garage door so if I left it open, I can close it with my phone. Those were the equipment that I thought I could really use. I've been extremely satisfied with Vivint's services. They've been prompt at coming out to repair something or replace it. I've had two items that went outdated and so when they were at my house during a service, they swapped it out for free for the new upgraded model.
I had to wait one time for nearly a month for a service medic to come out but that only happened one time and that was because we were living far off the beaten path. I didn’t really hold it against them too much because we were so far away from civilization but it's not fun to have to wait for things. Still, Vivint's price and equipment are great, and the response has been really fast. I've had other security systems in the past, and Vivint definitely outperforms them.
I had the system in my previous house so we'd taken all the equipment off and carried it in a box to our new house and I scheduled the installation. The guy showed up and it took him about four hours to install the entire system. He knew what he was doing and he put on little booties so my house didn’t get all gross. The installation was simple and straightforward. There was one piece of equipment that he couldn't get working when and so he had to come out a second visit and replaced that item because he didn’t have it with him before. It's all fixed now.
I've had the system in my house for about eight years now. And I've had to move a lot for my job. In one of the homes that I moved to, when they hooked up my air conditioning control module, the guy accidentally blew a fuse inside my air conditioning module at my house. It took him about a couple of days, and they had to send out a different guy who's more experienced to figure it out. They ended up reimbursing me for the service and the cost and maintenance on it but we were without A/C for a day and a half. It sucked but they owned up to it. They handled it as good as I would have expected. They were quick and then they gave me some cash for the inconvenience of it.
I have recommended them and I would definitely recommend them. I've told people that the service is extremely fast. As the alarm goes off in the home, they're instantly right there. So, if there was an event or an issue that occurred in my home, somebody's immediately right there to notify the police and having four kids, every second matters. I really appreciate that they're much quicker than my previous monitoring security services. I love that I can control my house, my temperature, open and close doors, unlock doors, turn on lights, and open garages in my phone.

I was referred to Vivint by a co-worker and their sales representative was great. He was well-spoken and accurate and we had a good conversation. Their installation team was professional as well. They were prompt and they did a good install. Vivint is a good company and they have good employees. When my cameras would drop out the signal, they worked with me in resolving the issues while most companies don’t do that. So I appreciate that. They charged me for it and the repair took some time which was kind of a hassle but Vivint fixed their product and that was all that mattered. I've tweeted about Vivint and a couple of my co-workers have it now. I told them about Vivint's reliability in the sense of ease that I have and that I saw the wonderful features they have in making my house a smart home.

We’ve had the Vivint system for about a year now and it's a great system. We have three cameras, motion detectors, fire, smoke, and carbon monoxide detectors, and a camera on the doorbell. However, about two weeks after we got the system, the system has broken down. We’ve had people out probably four or five times. And every time they said, “Okay, we got it fixed. Now, it’s going to work.” But about two weeks later, the cameras go down. Right now, we’re not really happy with them. The system has been down for about a week and a half and they can’t get anybody out here to look at it until next week. So, it’s been sitting there for about two weeks without it working. It’s a nice system but it won’t stay up. We’re paying a lot of money for something that doesn’t work.

I lost my index finger in the army so I have my middle finger as my pointer now and at the same time it's broke and fat. I come in two or three times and accidentally, instead of putting 5058 I maybe hit one number and then it was either gone too fast, bam! That quick, a lady from Vivint is talking to me on the phone and asked if everything was okay, anything she could do and if I could give her my security. Also, I walked in one night and was in a hurry 'cause it was windier than heck out here. I threw my aluminum poles with my flag, just shoo them on the floor and it lit up my glass breakage. Vivint has been the best alarm system I ever had.
The installation team was very professional, polite, and did a very nice job. They had to come back twice 'cause I didn't have the Internet set up the first time and they never complained or said a word. But the service has been very satisfactory and I recommend Vivint. They're friendly and they have taken very good care of me.

My wife found out about Vivint, called an installer and got it installed. The installer was nice and it was very good service. I love the features of the package we got from Vivint. Vivint representatives came in and showed me a demonstration. They're great people and they help you with everything. Also, Vivint has a great product. I like the inside cameras, the doorbell camera and the locks. The installers cleaned up and did a great job. But while Vivint’s service has been off the chart, their customer service and their billing are something else. Their billing department needs some work. I have two accounts through Vivint and one account has been messed up for two and a half years. I have to call every two or three months but it should be straightened out right now. Also, my interaction with their representatives was okay but they take too long. When you call in, it could be an emergency and you're on hold for six minutes.

I was told by Harold ** that the equipment was free. Became aware on May 15th that it was not free. In fact when I attempted to contact him by phone, he would not pick up or return my calls. Spent most of Tuesday and Wednesday trying to get someone at your company to honor the agreement that I consented to. No success.

A friend of mine had Vivint and I went with them because of the camera. I have the cameras over the phone which is pretty good but I have a lot of issues with it and the Vivint team had to come out several times with putting a router because I have AT&T and I have to use a D-Link router. I like the door lock but I have issues with the doorbell sometimes because it’s too far away from the router itself. The installation went okay but the software was faulty in the panel and the internal battery was not functioning properly. So, as soon as they installed, they had to come back out several times because they kept on saying that the battery was low and my house wasn’t being protected. That was very frustrating. But the team at Vivint are always nice and they always come out and fix the problems.

At first I thought this was a great deal. A day later I still had no camera in my backyard. When the camera was finally up and running it was pointed in the wrong direction and could not be adjusted properly to get a good view of my backyard. I called salesperson for the area and when he got back to me I was told that his technicians were to busy and suggested I call Vivint to get someone out to look at it. Long story short I moved the camera myself. You would think that for two thousand dollars and thirty dollars a month they would take care of their customers. I would not recommend using this company to anyone.

I have Vivint's monitoring and a Cloud service for video. I spoke to a couple of different reps and some of them were helpful while others were not so much. I pulled pieces to get information. I also got an installation schedule which was cancelled. They sent me a date in which they could come back to reschedule and I had to confirm it. So when I called in, I was left on hold for an extended period of time and they were consistently trying to upsell me on things. Other than that, the first technician who came, Kye, was really cool and knowledgeable, but he wasn’t able to get it installed. The next guy who came completed the installation. The service has been pretty good. Initially, the panel continuously drops offline, but since I hotwired it, I no longer have that issue. Also, the video tends to take pretty long to load. I was told that was because the speed of the internet which couldn’t be the case because I have the fastest internet offered.

Vivint's guy showed us the product and we were interested. Being able to see everything, unlock the door from anywhere, and put the alarm on unarmed from anywhere won us over. The thermostat thing was also neat. The installation was also good and it went quickly. We feel much safer knowing that if the system goes off, it goes straight to the police and that somebody will be here.
The service that their rep provided us when he first came was excellent. However, as with most other companies, he made the impression that you can run the footage back to any point in time, but that’s not the case. If the camera catches the motion, it records a 30 second clip. But if it doesn’t detect it, then there’s no going back. There was a time when somebody dropped off a package at the front door and there was no way that the camera should have missed it. That was when I found out and that was months after we signed up. What’s the point of having cameras if you can’t go back and check the footage at any time? I wouldn’t have signed the contract if I have known that. I also had to reach out to their rep and he responded to me for a little while, then he completely stopped responding and I had to reach out to the company. Plus, he was not able to get the referral bonus that I was promised.
All in all, I would tell my friends to look into someplace else because of the recording issue. I know that Vivint has that available, but it’s super expensive and I’ve looked into other places and their price beat Vivint. The app doesn’t always work that great either. It doesn’t always connect when it should and we experienced little glitches. A few times ago, it was saying that the garage door was open but it wasn’t and sometimes it was saying that the front door was unlocked when it was really locked.

I had a different security company but I wanted to change to wireless. I looked online and then I chose Vivint and I've been a customer for so long. I have the monitor on the doors, the smoke detector, and a sensor. All my experiences with Vivint’s representatives had been excellent. I'm in Texas and in an area that had been hit by several storms. My home was flooded and was under construction. So, the wall had to be replaced and I cut out a piece of the wall and I kept the monitor going so I didn’t have any issues. Then once the walls were backed up, I called Vivint and told them I needed to install the monitor on the new wall.
I have never had any issues with Vivint. Their people who came here were very respectful. They were very clean-cut and neat-looking. If I had questions, they answered the questions. I had an excellent interaction with them. I have referred people to Vivint when they ask me which security company I have. Although, when I retired, my contract lapsed and I wanted to keep Vivint. I needed them to lower my rate but they told me no. Three weeks later, they told me that they had a new manager, and they said that there was a program that they had. When a customer calls requesting something that may be out of the ordinary to them, they should not be so quick to say no but to say, “Let me check with my manager or my management team,” because that was what I used to do. Especially if you have a customer that’s been with you for a long time, and they wanna stay as a customer. The whole idea is to keep customers.

The previous owners had Vivint, so we didn’t change it to another. We have the sensors only and they're pretty good. The techs came for the installation and they were helpful. We had some false alarms and we immediately got calls from the service center asking if everything was okay or not. They are prompt and everything is okay as of now. We have peace of mind knowing that we have a security system when we're not at home. I would definitely recommend.

I've been with Vivint for around six years and in the time I've had them, I've been satisfied with the service. Any time I have problems, I call them and they send somebody to correct the problems. When we had problems with one of the sensors, my son and I tried to fix it ourselves but we weren't able to. So we called the company and they sent one of their technicians. They corrected the problem so everything is all right now.

Vivint has the best combination of less technology and reasonable price. In the long run, you would end up saving money with them than with other companies. In fact, when deciding the features of my service package, I got a couple of quotes from other companies, and I'd still have to pay a lot of extra money to get cameras, and I already got the automatic and keypad door lock. To get all that stuff through other companies would almost be the same price, but still a lot more money per month. And while the interactions with our sales representatives went well, they didn't know everything. I ended up purchasing $500 more stuff when the installer came because they never even offered me the 1 TB hard drive that you need to use the cameras. Had they offered that to me, I would've said yes.
Nevertheless, the installation was great. They made sure that everything was set up, and they walked through everything with us on how to use it. They also did a thorough and clean job. So far, the products have been good. We did have something crazy, like our alarm glass break sensor went off which freaked us out and we couldn't figure out why that happened. Still, that's the first time it has ever gone off. Also, we had WiFi repeater failure but Vivint sent another one and fixed it. Besides those issues,

The door lock mechanism is not functioning like I was told. I was told that the batteries for the lock would needed to be changed every six months, currently they are needing to be changed every four to six days. This is far and beyond the most disappointing aspect of the products.

I have one concern, I live in a older home and the the smoke detector is located on the ceiling where the attic is. Problem: Is the device detecting heat from the attic. If so, this could be costly problem for me. Fire Department being dispatched, and a Shepard/Wolf situation. I don't want the system to cry wolf and there's no fire. Thursday 17 May, I have an appointment with a Tech. Other than this Vivint has been great. I love the option to view my property and playback time throughout the day. Awesome! Camera calling from the camera is outstanding as well!!!

Sean is the best technician and I love The Vivint products. So far so good. Amazing staff. I will recommend this security system to all my friends and I might end up getting more equipment in the future. I have 3 cameras, a panel garage door opener, censors throughout the house and I’m happy to be safe now.

The system is great. The technology is great and the installer was great. Was very happy with the install. He was in and out 2 hours. The tech made sure that I know how to work the main unit and went over all the features.

Everything started out great. Monitoring was always on point with any kind of alarm. After a few years I moved and transferred service is when it all went south. I had been a customer with Vivint for nearly 5 years. When I moved to a more rural area where cell coverage was a little spotty for some carriers, Vivint was unable to provide the monitoring like they used to. Initially everything seemed fine, but then the panel would randomly sound off due to cell signal loss. I contacted Vivint, and after a lengthy wait time and conversation with their support team, I was basically told there was nothing they could do and was suggested to buy a signal booster.
Like I said, the cell signal was shotty in the area for some carriers, but my personal phones didn't have problems. So investing and installing a booster was not at the top of my priority list. Due to the panel's signal loss being intermittent also put the issue on the backburner. The main issue I had about the whole thing, was Vivint pretending like there wasn't a problem. I was paying full price every month for a service they couldn't 100% provide, and Most of all they didn't even have the decency to give me a courtesy call any time the panel lost signal.
Basically, they knew they lost the ability to monitor my home and family's safety AND DID NOTHING, NOT EVEN A CALL! It wasn't until I called threatening to cancel service that they said I should have called sooner. I reminded them I had called previously, and was told there was nothing they could do and to buy a signal booster. I was then told I should have kept calling... Unbelievable! After discussions elevated in spirit, they offered to send a tech out. By this time, I was fed up with it and their lack of ethics and complete incompetence in handling the matter. The best they could do for me was to offer me a 10% discount to buy out of the remainder of my contract, which still equated to over a $1000! I had to pay over a grand for services they couldn't provide is the point this review. Shop around and don't let them rope you into a "deal" by signing up for any extended contract.

The setup was quick and the persons I dealt with were awesome. Fair price for what I got. The panel interface is responsive and intuitive. Don't make a bunch of needless noises. Easy to disarm/arm. You get adequate time to arm and leave. The app works ok, but has a few issues with it getting "stuck" on disarming/arming screen. Normally if I go to another option and back to the main screen, it refreshes. The issue has happened on multiple devices, so isn't just my phone. Overall, my wife likes it and so I'm happy with it.

Vivint’s service was lacking and their system was not secure. On the video, it looked like somebody was trying to mess with the system. But my wife and I were standing outside looking at the door that they were messing with and there was nobody there. It was obvious that somebody was pranking us. I kept telling Vivint that I was hacked and that alarms weren't going off. They had a technician come out and told us that there is no way that it could happen, that their codes are changed daily and something else was updated regularly.
The technician noticed that our panel had been messed with. Since my inside panel happens to be in my bedroom upstairs, that means somebody got all the way up there. He also added that it could be that the house shook and because they have a screw that's tamper safe, he put a piece of tape back there so that it won't jiggle anymore and that was the only thing that he did. It was suspicious that he had a Vivint car but he did not have any of their tablets. He also didn't have anything on his clothes to say that he was from them, not even a jacket. I was told the guy who actually installed the system would be coming and it wasn't him. When I asked to find out who he was, he told me he was in the area and he can go get the guy who installed the system, but he added that I'd be put back on the list and it would be another day. So, I went ahead since I wanted the system get looked at.
After that, he was very dismissive of me. We showed him the video and told him where I was standing and what wasn't happening. Instead, he called me a liar and asked why I didn't call the police when somebody was trying to break into my house. I insisted that I was looking and there was nobody there. I then asked why Vivint's sensor didn't go off and why didn't the alarm company call since the door in the video was open enough to make contact with the sensor. He had nothing to say about that and that's about when he left.
When I called Vivint to tell them I'm dissatisfied with their system, that I do not want their representatives coming out here anymore and that I would like to send their property back to them, their representative said no. I haven't received anything in the mail and I still have their equipment which is still on. I'm guessing that they're gonna try to charge me for it but if somebody at the house did burn, I don't know if they would actually call or just say that we haven't paid the bill, so they're not gonna call. But I'm not gonna find out.

I've been with Vivint for two months and I'm annoyed with their system. I really don't have time over and over again to learn how to use the door things. So, I don't get much relief except to tell me that the doors are opening up. I have a busy schedule. I work, I've got two sisters in the hospital and I've got a family, so I got a lot to do. I gotta learn how to use it. It was very complicated and I need more instructions. The installation, nevertheless, was great and I'm appreciating the system, but I don't know how to use and to set it up. I had it set up, but every two minutes, the alarm would go off as we walk out the door and then we forget to do something.
The system is too confusing. I can't run every time I gotta shut and open the door. I can't be checking it all so I can get the alarm system going. There's gotta be a better way. I'm not gonna turn an alarm off when I have to go out the door. I talked to Vivint twice when I told I have to call back to get some instructions. It's a wonderful system and I like it, but at the same time, I'm frustrated since I can't use it and I'm paying for it. Vivint's system is not for me.

Vivint is a pain right now and I'm fairly pissed off. My wife called me up and said she couldn't see the cameras. I rely heavily on those cameras to monitor my kids when they arrive from school. So I had to ask permission to get off from work, did some troubleshooting and got it going. This happens at least once a month and I'd have to reboot the system. But it's happening a lot less. It was happening twice a month in the beginning. I gave Vivint the benefit of the doubt and gave it a shot. The representatives gave me steps to reboot the sub-panel and disconnect the router. I had to get my ladder, go up to the camera and hold the button down, disconnect the camera, and so on until it starts working.
From the other times I had spoken with representatives, they told me that I have to reset the system at least once a month. It was kinda ridiculous but okay. So I tried whatever I remembered and luckily, it worked. I didn't have to call. I want Vivint to get better as far as the system coming offline. But other than that, they are very reliable. When I had made mistakes and the alarm went off, they were quick to call and see what was going on. As far as getting back to the code and on the speaker, that was awesome. I can't expect any better.

He was a great installer. He helped my wife and I from the alarm system to Google. He explained all functions to the alarm and very professional and took time to explain the Google. He was on time. He did not try to sell us extra equipment.

Some of the people my husband works with recommended Vivint. The installers were great and they were very friendly. It was a good experience. So far their service has been good and we can use it from the apps from my phone. But I just always have problems with the apps wanting to work for some reason. A lot of times, they have to go in and manually hit our number on the pad in our house because the apps won't disarm our system. But other than that, it's okay. And when I spoke with their customer service, they were great. We had problems with a part of our equipment after the person installed it. We called them, technicians came out and they fixed the equipment that wasn't working. I would recommend Vivint.

We chose Vivint because of the technology and the ability to add pieces to the system as needed (rather than paying and being locked into a “video package” for example). The install was quick and easy and we love being able to access the system through the app. So far we are highly satisfied. Our friends who have seen the system are impressed and considering it for their own homes.

Have had issues for first three days of install with WiFi issues. My system is continually removed from my WiFi and my cameras do not work. Disappointing that you have this many technical issues this early. If these do not correct the system will be returned.

We have Vivint's alarm and camera system, and the app on our phone. However, it's been less than a year and we have had it serviced twice. We had somebody come through the yard on a quad right in front of the cameras. When we looked at our footage, there was nothing. But when I went out and did a small dent, I got caught right away. That’s when we noticed that we had issues and that it wasn't recording so my wife called a technician. They showed up and fixed it. It's working now, but they had to change the main brain once and charged me for the repair. It's expensive but overall, I like the system and I'm happy with Vivint.

The Vivint service is fine and I like it. I got the regular windows, doors and the camera out of the door. I use the smartphone app to turn on and off the alarm so that’s good. Vivint did not let me understand better though that I was buying the equipment and I’m not happy about that. I thought I was just gonna be paying for the monitoring and the setup for that day but I’m actually paying $1500 over an increment.

Vivint came to our house, sold us a security system and the equipment was installed in an hour and a half. We have them for a few years now and we like the ability to speak through the intercom system with an agent if there’s a problem. We also like the app on the phone where we could monitor when we’re not home. I would recommend Vivint to others.

We have had the new VIVINT system for about a month. We have had a few false alarms and immediately had either an email or a spokesperson speaking to us from the panel. Also we have video of a late night visitor checking to see if the vehicles were left unlocked. The system is doing everything it was intended to. We are very happy with the service and look forward to adding to it.

I was very pleased with Ben from Customer Service. He explained everything very concise and clearly. I had no problems or questions after conferring with him on several occasions. The Technician Darius came to my home to install my equipment and was extremely professional and helpful as well. My only issue was with my indoor camera when I asked him if it moved around to see different areas of the house from the app and he said “ Yes” My Camera does NOT have this feature. The other issue I have is on your website you say how much better a wireless camera is. Yet you don’t offer any. I do not like a camera you have to plug in. I think it’s archaic in the 21st Century. Otherwise I am happy with my new Security System.

Happy with the Vivint team. From the sales team to the installation team and CSR, everyone was very professional, friendly and great to deal with. The system is great as well. I’m very impressed with doorbell camera. It works great and the fact that it actually records the 30 second videos of anyone approaching the door, really makes me feel safe. I was doing research when I found Vivint online and I like their set up, particularly the way they do wireless. And I also like the door camera. I've been with the company for at least two years now and the service I've received so far is good. There was a little trouble during installation but they got it done. Their rate is a little higher but other than that, I haven't had any problems with them. I like them better than the last company I had.

The Vivint guy who knocked on my door was very professional and was really nice. But the installer who was supposed to come back and patch up holes that he had done, did not come back. So the company ended up sending somebody else. But they didn't charge me for fixing the issues, so I was glad.

Amazing system and amazing staff amazing service. From phone call to set up the customer service is full of courteous and caring staff. My wife loves the system and comfort knowing we are protected. I also got the pendant for my mom who is living with us. In case something happens she presses the button and Vivint handles the rest.

Installer was great. Salesman was deceptive in that he failed to disclose that my social would be required in order to make payments on the equipment. I would recommend the system to my family and friends. The installer explained everything about the system as to the setup, and placement of the glass breakage detectors.

My review is totally mixed. The first tech to my home unable to install. Communication between home review and what tech could do way off. 2 tech Eric ** excellent but he spent 2 hrs on phone with his own people getting the runaround on situations. This company can take all the surveys it wants, but unless they act it is wasted time. The company has many compartmentalize parts not working together well. No meshing communication. Analogy: marbles scattered across the floor and no one gathering them or responsible. So many errors! No one in charge of fixing them.
After sorting through everything, I was sent a copy of the agreement I supposedly agreed to ( with my name filled out on it) with the wrong price and included a clause that a $74 charge for equipment would be charged to my card used for the first mo service. I never say this form and never would have agreed to it in any way! Customer care rep Marissa ** deserves praise for assuring me records showed the info not correct. You can’t send this type of letter out to customers and expect them to have positive feelings about Vivint. Streamlining your operations a must! One hand needs to know what the other is doing. You waste time and money correcting things that everyone should know and things that should be standard policy.

The features of the Vivint service package, for the most part, is good and I recommend it. The doorbell camera is a great feature, but the easiest is working with the alarm system. I hooked it up on the Alexa. It's not allowed to disarm because it would not be good for us if a burglar came in and turn the alarm off, but I could say, “Hey Alexa, tell Vivint to turn on my alarm,” and it turns it on. But then, I had a little bit of an issue controlling my thermostat. So they came and set up some booster thing throughout my house, and reboot the system and get it to speak to each other, which actually helped and improved it.

The salesman had very good and updated information of devices, equipment, and estimation. The installer was professional and courteous. Explain how the control panel and camera operated. Installer pick up a mess and sweep debris from the floor. Excellent work. No complaints.

Three years ago, a sales rep from Vivint knocked on my door and we had a pleasant interaction. It was favorable enough for me to get their system. Their people installed the system for me and I like the features offered in my system. However, I've had a few concerns but they had been addressed. But sometimes, the wait time for customer service or when I was with tech support could take a lot longer than I anticipated. But I've recommended Vivint and it is a great service.

I'm very happy with Vivint. I've had the service for 4 months now and I've had good interactions with the representatives. The doorbell is a little bit slow and delayed but quality-wise, they are fine. I came to know about Vivint through a friend and I would also tell other friends who ask about them to do it.

One of my new cameras is pink already and need replaced. The location of the front cameras affects my garage door openers and it works on 10% of the time now. I called customer service because I was charged for an extra panel 3 days ago when it was supposed to be in my monthly charges which I signed and they have not resent the paperwork. My cameras go offline a lot even when I have internet service.

A gentleman from Vivint was going through the neighborhood and he came to our house and saw that we had ADT. Then he asked my wife if she wanted to do the promotion. He was very professional and he got us to leave ADT. Vivint's people came, took over our equipment, and added things to our system. Everything was good until six months ago when we started having problems with our system. We have had so many problems with Vivint to the point where everything in my house has been changed out. We had two cameras replaced and had to change our door contact. Everything now is basically run by business. It is only after I put in a complaint do I get a callback which is reasonable because if I'm not calling and telling them that I have an issue then they would think everything is okay. That is fine with me and I don't really complain about people not calling me as long as my things are running like it's supposed to run.
There is a lot of the automation part if it's a two-story home and the doorbell is not working. The person has to keep running back to up and down wherever the panel is until the problem is corrected. I'm the one who was doing the legwork even though I knew Vivint was gonna charge me if they come up. Those things aren't quite explained to me, which they should. It was frustrating but they always seem to help me through it, which took away some of the frustration. Sometimes it may just be worth that charge and maybe the charge wasn't so much but I understand people have to make a living and it's a different situation.
Also, our camera wasn't working right for almost six months, and so they went back and deducted that from the bill. They gave me credits every time. Vivint was doing their software updates and that was 'causing not to see the video camera. Sometimes it will work, sometimes it wouldn't work. There were good things and bad things about Vivint. But overall, I'm satisfied because I'm still with the company since it was a point where they were gonna just cancel my contract and let me get out of it.
I like Vivint's web page. But when people are addressing comments or saying things on their website, they would say to that person to send a private message them and maybe they could work through it, sometimes other consumers want to see that Vivint talk online to that person to see how it was handled and whatnot. Because it leaves the other consumer on the dock, whether they ever solved that person's problem. Regular consumers would like to see everything because sometimes, that consumer might have the same problem, and then they would call Vivint to ask for help as well.
Another thing, I know what I need to tell the reps when I do the survey after the tech comes and if I don't do the survey correctly, the tech is the one who would be penalized. If a client has been going through a lot at that time frame, he may not recommend that system to another client. And the tech is the one who's penalized even though that tech came out and did what they were supposed to do and did a great job to try to help the person with their issue. I didn't think that part was fair.
Nevertheless, right now, the system is running perfectly. They basically took all the equipment that we had in here, even our panels, and gave me everything new and since then, it has been decent. Every blue moon, I might see a camera offline and instead of having to call customer service, I can do it through my app. Last night, I just called to add a few lighting systems to the alarm which is fantastic. It's an excellent alarm when it's working right. It's state of the art. What I don't like is how I have to do my own troubleshooting with the tech on the phone. But I understand that I have to pay techs to come out. When the system is working, it's one of the best alarm systems out there.

Vivint came around advertising and their reps asked if they could take some of my time. They were very good, very informative, not pushy, and very nice. The same people installed the equipment and their service during the installation was great as well. So far, I’m very satisfied with the features of the service package that I got. As a matter of fact, I had a laugh a couple of times because when I cooked and something fell in an oven and burned, they called me right away.

The service package I got has plenty of good features. I like all the smart home feature which I have integrated with the Nest. And that was why I went with Vivint. When I put it on TV, it automatically turns to the eco mode. But I didn’t like that my glass break sensor got started by its own a couple of times even though there was no breakage. There was a technology defect or a bug and the sensor bypass went on. Their sales rep was okay but not really great because he didn’t give me all the different options available. He was only trying to push me with an option where I had to take full services. I wanted the 999 per month package which I came to know only through the Best Buy guys.

This was a prompt uncomplicated sale and the installation was done smoothly and done by cordial staff. It was easy to upgrade from my previous alarm system to this system, with a few more items I had wanted to add. I find It’s easy to use and I have access to my home and alarm System both at home and away from home.

My aunt has Vivint and she bought one for me. I wanted to get a system with cameras so it was included in my service package. I have all the smartphone stuff too that it connects to. The Vivint installation guy who came was good. He was also nice and it seemed he knew what he was doing. But he should have installed those other kinds of cameras from the beginning. I literally had someone come to my house every other day for a few weeks.
Moreover, the first two weeks were horrible. The cameras don't work at all. They kept switching out the cameras because they would go out all the time. It's because they bought the wrong kind. There might be something in my wall that’s blocking it and when they knew there was something wrong with going through the Wi-Fi, they just put in the ones that go through the wiring in my house. But it was a total waste of time and I was about to cancel with them. And while the customer service was good when you call in and they got the camera to work, the whole setup time was horrible.

Few choices in the remote area where my weekend home was so I went with Vivint because they could provide the camera which I could access via app and turn on and off system while I was away. I feel the monthly price is quite high, they make you commit to a 2 year contract then require you to put a credit card down to autopay your monthly fee but do not provide you with a e-bill. When I requested one they said it wasn't possible. What!? Then my installer did not leave signs because he had a fall at the end of my install. I called and asked for three signs, I was told they would charge me for any sign outside of one and then a shipping fee as well. When I already feel like I am being overcharged monthly!?
There are no accommodations made for customers, just simply a very friendly "we understand but that's our policy." It feels like they do not work with the customers and that you are locked in for two years. I do like the camera and service but cringe each time I have to ask for anything special. You can't give me a $5 sign!? Come on. I am not impressed with the way the company is run or the the way this leave customers feeling.

My system was installed very quickly and efficiently. The salesman was very professional and has continued to check up on the system. Everything works great. It was a little pricey but their payments are reasonable and the equipment is of high quality.

I have a family member who goes around and takes whatever she wants. I had had some things go missing. I heard of Vivint from my brother and I got their cameras and the doorbell. My grandparents had ADT but it seemed plain. But like with any computer or man-made system, I've had a few issues here and there with Vivint's system. I've had to call and their representatives have been good. They get on their computer and do the thing on the screen then they have me do stuff. It's pretty much a walkthrough and it's nice.
But I still have an issue with my doorbell camera where it won't record. I went into the settings like they said but it still won't record. Plus when people ring my doorbell, my phone will ring but the doorbell inside the house won't. I've also had two of my cameras go out twice and that worried me 'cause I have a motorcycle that I'd like to know is okay if I'm not riding it to work. But Vivint got the cameras fixed. And other than those issues, I like the service. Vivint is awesome. In fact, I called a friend and he got it too.

I’ve seen Vivint's signs around the neighborhood and they sent kind of a door-to-door salesperson to me. Their rep was very personable and not pushy and our interaction was great. Then their installers arrived much quicker than I thought they would and they were very efficient. They got everything installed and explained it to me. I’ve been really happy with Vivint and I would recommend them.

My family has had Vivint for a long time so when I moved, I decided to get the same thing. When I got the service installed, I talked to the rep who installed it and I also called Vivint once to change my card information. The features are great and I love them. I use the app to arm and disarm from wherever I am. When I need to disarm, I can just do it on my car and I keep on moving because I sometimes forget to put the alarm on, which is convenient. I don’t have any problems with them and I would recommend.

The installation guys were very help and explained everything in detail before leaving. The installation went smoothly with no issues. The front cameras including doorbell cameras worked very well. It took a good quality image with wide coverage.

I have had Vivint security service for less than 4 months. I am now on my 4th service call. Videos don't record, door bell doesn't work. System goes offline constantly. Latest problem is the alarm doesn't work. As a senior citizen with limited income I am disheartened that I am stuck and have to pay for something that doesn't work. I was actually charged 49$ one time for a technician to come out and "fix" one problem. 1 week later the system is offline. I really wish there was a way I could get out of this contract.

Leo was great. Very customer focused and super friendly. I would not have normally spoken to someone going door to door selling services. Was very detailed in going over services Install was fine. They did a good job locating where to put things as my home was a bit difficult due to the weird setup in wiring of the home. Good job with instructions on how to use all of the services as well as my own device i.e. Google Mini.

We chose to work with Vivint because they could come out the quickest. However, I'm not that happy about the features in my package because it seems like the cameras and stuff have been going offline a lot. The features are cool and I feel safe when it's working. The reps were courteous but I don't really think they were helpful. But it was cool with the troubleshooting when the guy came out there.

My daughter-in-law works for Primerica and Vivint's security system is one of the things that they can sell and recommend. She told me about it and I signed up. The person who installed our Vivint system came from Indiana and she was wonderful. She was neat and did everything right the first time. She put up with my grandkids running around and we all loved her. When it comes to the features of the system, I don’t use all of them, but I set them at night and I use them when I leave. One time, my son-in-law set it and I knew it said "armed" as I was leaving. But when I got home to disarm it, it was already disarmed and I didn't know how that happened.
Then my son-in-law got Vivint, too. He said that sometimes when he pulls up to their garage and try to disarm the system, it takes about three tries because it's hooked into the home internet. That has happened once to me, too and it's kind of annoying but I'm gonna leave it that way because if I forget to lock the door, I just assume here that the door is open.
The other thing is when I accidentally forgot that I turned down my nighttime thing and I went to check one of the doors and opened it, all the alarms went off. Then somebody called me to make sure everything was okay. I was embarrassed about the false alarm and I hope that didn’t charge me anything. I would tell my friends that Vivint is a very customer service-oriented place and their installers are really good. It's kind of ironic though because my daughter-in-law was the one who recommended them to me and when they got their system installed at their home, the first installer who came out got everything wrong. They had to have his boss or somebody above him come back in a couple of days and redo everything.

We heard about Vivint from my mom and the rep explained everything about the security system. We have the doorbell camera, the Ping camera, one outdoor camera, and the window sensors in the service package that we got from them. We wanted these features to have a more secured home. We love Vivint's service and we're satisfied with it. I usually share with friends how secure Vivint's security system is and I show them the video feed on the phone.

Vivint's customer service has been great and they have always responded very quickly, even to my false alarms. The reps have been very friendly. Vivint set up my security system and the hardware has been holding up well. But I had to replace the thermostat with a different one because it went out and I didn’t want to have to wait for one. Everything has been great with Vivint and I'd highly recommend using their service.

We heard about Vivint when they came knocking on the door in the neighborhood. The service package that we chose was the touch-lock on the front door -- accessible lock from the front door without using a key -- which was what really enticed us to the package. We also have the camera, motion detectors and the security on the windows and doors. We had some difficulty at the beginning with some of the equipment being faulty like the motion detection that was in my husband’s office where we have several valuables and equipment. It was a long-drawn-out process to try to get it resolved. After several go-betweens, we finally got that ironed out. And it did not end in my satisfaction, but we did make other arrangements for security in that room.
The installation team was great. They came as planned. It took a long time to install the system because we did have several working features and place that we had to disconnect and reconnect with theirs. It was an issue where a technician had to come back in to redo some work on the front door and they did that. The installation took up until 11:00 in the evening. They showed my husband how to operate blocks and everything.
We did recommend Vivint to my daughter and her husband. They are still currently using their services. They have younger children in the home and so they were able to use the system to have the door alarmed. When the door is opened, closed or secured, they have different codes for the kids and so they could tell which of the kids are coming and going. That’s been a great convenience. And another convenience that we do enjoy with Vivint is we don’t have to give out the code to anyone like if we have relatives visiting from out of state. They just call us whenever they are sitting on the front porch and we unlock it remotely so that not everybody is running around with your code. The only thing that I had a distaste was the motion detector that we never got resolved in the office and the pricing. I felt that the pricing of the package is overpriced. Other than that, overall, it is a satisfactory experience with Vivint.

I like the services that Vivint was providing, what the rep was saying, and the price too. We have the security features and I'm very satisfied with the service so far. Interactions with the sales rep were excellent. He was very knowledgeable, he explained everything that I asked him, and it was a good conversation. The installer was very courteous and very quick and that's what I liked about him. We feel secure with Vivint and we use the system often. Every day in the evening, we come back and secure the house and feel comfortable at night time when we're sleeping.

My husband’s out of town a lot and it's just the kids and me at home. So we purchased the Vivint package with the garage door, thermostat, doorbell camera, the front door thing and windows stuff. I've been really satisfied with Vivint's service. There were minor issues but it was easy to call them and they would fix it right away. We were actually moving and when the kid came to take our system out of our house so we can move it to the new house he helped us and informed us on everything that we had questions about. But I wish that everything takes Wi-Fi because since we've updated our main system the doorbell doesn’t wanna connect with it without Wi-Fi. But so far Vivint is a really great system.

We have been using Vivint for seven years. We've got a great, big bay window in the front so their representative had suggested putting a sensor there. Then, we have one on our garage door, as well our kitchen window because my husband works at night and I feel safer having all these stuff. So far, I'm satisfied with their service. In addition, if I needed anything or if I'm concerned about anything, I just phone them and they let me know what's going on. I've only had the installation team come out when they installed the service package and when they redid the battery in the CO2 detector. People should go for Vivint.

I have two houses and a business, and for each one I got Vivint's security system after I was referred to them. They have good price and good features. The service package that I got includes the alarm, camera, DVR, window sensor, door sensor, glass sensor, and thermostat. The installer that came out was good. I've had Vivint's service for four months at best and my experience with them has been good so far. My satisfaction with the service has been good for the most part, except for one of my houses where one of the cameras was busted but I was too busy to call Vivint.

I needed someone besides ADT and I found Vivint when I went online. I've been very pleased with Vivint's service so far. They basically addressed concerns that I had whereas ADT was totally dysfunctional and what was sold and installation were two different things. Vivint did exactly what they said they were gonna do, and they've been good with monitoring. Between them and my 120-pound German Shepherd, I've got good security with Vivint. I would recommend them.

My daughter and son-in-law has Vivint security system and I'm a cosigner for them. The features of the system are okay and I pay Vivint $57 for my equipment and about $20 for services every month. But I know that there's another company that offers better rates. We recently dealt with one of the Vivint reps and right now I have one of my door alarms disabled since I got the service because I had two false alarms and a third one wouldn’t have been fine. I had to remove that, but I'm still charged for it.

A friend of mine told me about Vivint and had negative reviews about it but I wanted to find out for myself. And now, I’m seriously frustrated with Vivint. Since I got it, everything's been terrible and it hasn’t been a year yet. It would be in December. Every time I turn, there was a problem. First, the door wasn’t alarming off so they came out and fixed it. Then I turn around, it’s been my camera ever since. I got one camera inside and one on the outside and neither one is working. They came out and sent five different technicians out there to fix the camera, still not working. It never records so it was just useless for me to get it.
Also, the customer service has been poor. Every supervisor and manager there doesn’t know what they’re talking about. Everybody’s telling me something different and they wanna send somebody out there every time instead of getting to the root of the problem. They should give me some new equipment in here and quit sending somebody out. The techs keep telling me that it’s gonna work but as soon as they leave, it stops working. It gets worse and worse every time they send somebody out there, even the manager.

Vivint’s service has been good for the last two years. But on the first year, there was some mix-up. I was not supposed to pay for something and it took me six months to get my money back. Other than that, they are quick to respond and their team is good. They say what they can do and they are nice. Their equipment also works great, although they replaced my board two times.

I had already been doing research on putting together my own digital security system using stuff that I could buy at Best Buy. So, when the Vivint rep presented the package, it was like what I had already been looking for nearly put together, so that was the reason why I purchased it. Also, the rep we dealt with was very knowledgeable. However, we've had one problem with one of our four cameras constantly losing the connection, But, apart from that, the system has been good.

We’ve been with Vivint for about three months now and I’m not too pleased with the system. We had some problems with it right from the get-go with the installation. We had to have them come back out because it was almost like they were in a hurry to close a quota for the day. When the guy came in and started the sales pitch, it was about 9:30 in the evening. Then, an installation crew came over at about 10:00 and they were here until after midnight trying to finish up on what they could do. Then they said they had to have somebody else come out the next day to finish up on the last bit of stuff that they had to hook up.
When they got done, the installer didn’t bother to hook the wiring up to the outside box and cover it back up. He hooked the wiring up where he left the box off and the wires and terminals were exposed. If young kids wanted to, they could have put their hands on the side of it, shorted out the wires, and got shocked. I called and complained about it then they sent somebody out the next day who fixed that. It was shabby work on the part of their installation team.
Then, we had a problem with the outside camera that watches the driveway. It wasn’t working and it was offline more than it was online, so when I said something about that, they sent somebody out to try to fix that. It worked for a day then it went offline again and it’s been offline for at least a month now. Periodically, the doorbell camera was going on and off, too. Then it went off to where it doesn’t even work now. My daughter called Vivint and talked with somebody about it. I also did everything I could do with the panel to try to reset it. I turned it off and turned it back on. Then I turned off the modem and turned that back on. I also unplugged it and plugged it back in. I was too frustrated and I didn’t even bother to call somebody to try to help me fix it over the phone. If I had my way, I’d pull everything out and ask them to give me back my money or whatever I put into it.
Also, we believe that one of the installers that came on the original night walked away with my son’s Costa Del Mar sunglasses. When I talked to their sales guy about it, he worked with somebody in customer support and they discounted me a $100 off the installation fee plus, they sent a check for around $120. It was supposed to offset the cost of the glasses and try to make me happy. It was a bad experience and I was not happy with their service at all. I would not recommend somebody to dig this service.

We bought a house and Vivint was already installed. The installation team came and redid some stuff when we initially set up our account and it was good. However, the system now won't connect to our Wi-Fi. It's possibly just synced off. It still works and all the sensors are good but it doesn't have some features because it's not connected. But we're satisfied with the service package. Vivint is good and easy, and it gives us peace of mind.

My son-in-law's parents had just installed Vivint in their house and they were happy with it. And when I just became a widow and all alone out in the country I got from Vivint the service package features that includes the doorbell, security Away and Stay. The service kept malfunctioning at first but finally I got a young kid out here and what happened was there was an antenna somewhere and it had to be outside of that little box. It took him at least a couple months to solve everything but he got it fixed and part of it was the fact that I'm so far out. Since then I've had no problems. Everybody who came from Vivint was nice but this last guy was by far the best.

I like the whole system of Vivint. It's better than ADT or any of the other ones. Vivint also offers more and they have great customer service too. Their services are phenomenal as well as their installation team. They explained everything very well and if I had any questions, the installer was able to answer it. He did the installation in a really quick timing too. Everything about my Vivint experience was just amazing.

I’ve had Vivint for a year now, they did a very good job and I’m happy with the service. They offered different features so I like them better than the system I had in the past. I've reached out to their reps four times and every time we had a problem, they came out and fixed it. Our door battery died a couple of months in so they came and replaced the battery. That worked for a week and then they came out and replaced the motor. I'd tell anyone who might ask about Vivint that if they can afford it, it's worth it.

There was a door to door salesman from Vivint was a good guy. When I needed him he was fine. But when I referred him to my cousin he just talked to my cousin once or texted him back and forth, then he never showed up for the appointment. But still the salesman did a good job, except for this one part where I asked for another panel upstairs. I wanted a panel that when the alarm goes off, I’m able to talk to the person to the panel. However, he sold me a separate panel, which is the carry-on where I put portable anywhere and don't talk to that one and if something happens. I have to run downstairs and talk to the person.
Other than that, the installation team did their part and they were great. I got cameras, sensors on my windows and the panel. I’ve been wanting a camera for a while. I like the doorbell camera as it detects people that walk by. And then I got a two-story house so I always wanted a sensor in all my windows upstairs for more security. However, I’m not so happy with the cameras. The signals are in and out but Vivint told me that that’s because of the internet. Nevertheless, the picture quality is great and so far Vivint's service is good.

My brother recommended Vivint and I liked the features of the security system. The Vivint people also seemed to know what they were doing. However, it's been a love-hate relationship. They added a lot to the system but the features don't always work. They also have trouble trying to make those things work properly. Everybody from Vivint tried to help the best that they can, but it seemed it would break down with some of the folks that they were sending out. A couple of people, in particular, were not very professional, not very knowledgeable, and not very sociable. People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care. The tech was not very good and professional at all, but then they fixed it.
In the last two visits we've had with the gentleman from Lansing, he knows his stuff. He made sure that the system works and that he explained how it works in ways that helped to understand and it made a little bit more sense. Because the way it was described to us initially was just completely wrong. And so that is the one of the things that has really preserved the system in our home right now. The system still doesn't work perfectly but at least now, I understand its limitations and understand why it doesn't work perfectly.

Wes acted sincere and very professional in the Installation of the front doorbell camera, front outdoor camera, Ping Camera, two thermostats, Vivint SmartHome app, SkyControl Panel and Smart Lock. He also explained how to use the Sky Control Panel and helped download the apps to my iPhone. I was very pleased with his performance. Javier was also very professional and explained how the fire and CO alerts were connected and functioned.

Yes, it's time to sue Vivint; I spent 1356.00 at Best Buy for their "Smart Home System". I had to leave town (which was the primary reason for getting the system installed). At about 90 days (not even the full 120 days)... the system just quit working, I couldn't check in on security from my phone. I was several hundred miles away when this happened, and could not get back into town until April. The system was installed in Sept. 2017... it failed Dec. 23, 2017. I could not get back until April 2018. I spent hours discussing this issue and was assured not to worry, everything was probably ok, it was more or less an internet problem and they wanted to know if there was anyone I trusted who could go to the house to access the panel! HUH?
Yeah, that makes perfect sense, just give somebody my key. When I arrived home in April, the system was not active, the panel had frozen. The doorbell didn't work, the outdoor camera didn't work, I was surprised also there was no alarm voice after my entrance. They then said they'd send a tech out. Tech did not show up. They then rescheduled; Tech called and canceled, said, I'd have to reschedule. I got back online with the chat and made another appointment. She rescheduled for today May 3 from 10a-12p.
However, I noticed I had an email I didn't open until yesterday... it was the chat operator saying, "Our chat was disconnected before I could finish scheduling the technician. Our system is having issues so it did NOT schedule the technician. I will try to schedule this a little bit later. I'll keep you updated." I said, "WHAT?" I saved the chat, that confirmed the appointment. I still have not heard back. It has been months of pure b.s. -- at one point I spoke to their loyalty department and wanted a full refund because the service failed in the first 90 days while I was out of town. They said they couldn't do that, but they credited 199.00 for past months of it not working. I am so sick of this... it's been a constant headache.

I wish I could give 0 stars, especially after having a CS manager hang up on me this morning. Since 2016, our camera has NOT worked in our home. We have placed multiple calls to get the issue fixed, been sent a new router, had several technicians come out and try two more brand new routers, and still... we are without a camera. I'm done. I'm tired of paying for a service which I believe I shouldn't have to keep trying to fix myself or continuously check to see if I can get it working again. We have made the phone calls. We have waited for technicians. We have PAID our $69.99/month for the service and the equipment. Our contract ended Jan. 30, 2018. The $69.99/month included paying for the equipment. But when our equipment was fully paid for, our bill did not decrease.
Please explain this to me. However, I checked my bank account online Monday, as it was May 1. There were no pending payments to Vivint. I then checked my Vivint account online. There was a payment deducted for April 1 and it said the next payment was due June 1. What happened to May? I then called the CSR and spoke with Rebecca. I explained to her that since no payment had been taken from our account and no payment was pending on your end either (verified by Rebecca), then I just wanted to go ahead and cancel the service because we weren't satisfied with it and the faulty equipment. She told me that she took care of the cancellation on her end, but that I needed to send an email to documents@vivint.com with my name, address, and service number. I did it immediately and requested that the service be canceled immediately to avoid a payment being drafted from my account.
I wanted the service canceled immediately. Then, last night, I checked my bank account and saw where the payment was taken anyway. I called this morning and spoke with another CS manager who told me that, "You need a 30-day notice to cancel!" This is absurd. If I don't want a service anymore, I shouldn't have to continue to pay, especially if I am NOT under a contract. This is theft. I did everything I had to do to avoid having to pay for another month of a service I cannot use or depend on. I told the CS manager that I was displeased and would write a review detailing my experience with Vivint. And that is when she hung up on me! Are you serious, Vivint? This was a recorded call.
Please pull the record of it. Even your managers have poor customer service skills. I got this email address from Consumer Affairs and read through ALL of the other reviews that had the same exact issues as me with the equipment and cameras. I know I am not alone. You have a lot of unhappy customers out here spending their money for your service. Save your reputation and fix these issues. I want this issue resolved and my $69.99 returned to my account immediately. Thank you.

Our technician Gary ** was fast, clean and extremely knowledgeable. He answered all questions and trained us on the basics. We decided to add additional equipment and he connected us to Best Buy to complete the transaction and took care of the additional equipment installation on the spot. Vivint's features are okay. But I don’t like the delayed reaction on the doorbell ring and when my camera system would freeze that it didn’t go anywhere. As soon as I hear the doorbell on my phone and check the camera, that's when I would I know when somebody came to the door and they rang the doorbell. And they were not going to just walk away as soon as they rang the doorbell. They were going to stay there for a while. But by the time it gets to my phone, they were heading out again. So, it’s like such a long-delayed reaction and I don’t understand why.
Also, when I wasn't at home and my mother-in-law was and she would wait until I set and turn the alarm off. What happened was, I was waiting for her to come out of the house for over an hour. I finally called the house and she told me that she already let the dogs out and they were back in. However, according to my phone, it was still locked up and I didn't see anything on the camera.
When I first got Vivint, they were going around in our neighborhood. And I didn’t have any security at that time and I just went with them. Also, at the time when I got it, I moved from one place to another place and I wanted to stop the service at the time where I was. And they told me that I had to continue to pay for it because I was under contract. So I moved somewhere else and the service went with me. While I’m still paying it, I might as well use it.
However, to be honest, I wouldn’t recommend Vivint. You can have a security system and not be under contract. I'm on a fixed income and I have to pay all of this for the next five years. It would be nice to get something else for a cheaper price. The ADT system is better from what I’ve heard or you should get something else from Home Depot to Lowe’s where you got cameras all over the place and you’re not under contract. And I know I wouldn’t even have to pay to get it connected if I was to get a system from somewhere else and just pay the service fee.
If someone is in my yard or at the door and I can see them and I could scare them away or I could call 911 myself. My mother-in-law has a wristband and she could press that but I don't hear anybody on the other end asking if she is okay. We set the alarm off by mistake and opening the door, and not getting to the panel in time and there’s nobody there. I thought with an alarm system, somebody is supposed to be watching your back at all time. And I don’t feel like that’s the way it’s working.

I was referred to Vivint by a friend and I ended up customizing my package with them. I run a Boys Home and the service has been awful. The rep fixed it, but my system has been down for three weeks and they’ve done nothing. I called them and told the rep that I needed to know that phone calls are coming through. Unless I know they are calling and who they are, then I would not answer that phone call. I have told him that I needed my appointment set up that day and he said they were going to set it up, however I have not heard anything from him.
The first phone call that I got when I called them was they put me off. We had it mounted on the wall, so it wouldn't be movable this time, and it still has. It’s not recording this in my office, so a burglar can break into my house and anybody can get in my house, and I would not know it. One boy could be going out running away and I wouldn’t know it. The whole reason that system was out in my house is that I run a Boys Home for high-risk boys in this UV system. It does not maintain the system for my house door. They came up the last time and put a brand-new board in, and I still got problems. I’ve been having this over a year now and I was gonna go pay it off and just get out of it. I know that nothing gets done and they need to show up in my house. I’m home seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
They replaced the whole board because it was no good and that’s what they said. My daughter is having the same problem. And if I call my girlfriend, she might be having problems now. If I set the alarm, it would just freeze on my end and I won’t get a reading. I wanted to take it out the wall at that point. They did not call me to show up and I was there until 11:00 every morning regardless. I don’t go anywhere and there was no reason why they cannot be at my house. I told them to come over and I pay them for something. I don’t like Vivint and I’m over with this. I don't care if they fix it up.

When we needed home security, we looked at Vivint’s website. We service package we got from them. We got problems with the cameras but I didn't have to change to another company. Right now, everything is working well.

My husband made the decision to go with Vivint and we regret it. The salesman did his job well at their sales pitch and they customized the features, but he was pushy. We didn’t do our research and we feel it's severely overpriced. But we're under contract with them and we'll stay in our contract.

2 men came to our door at 10 pm last night. They knocked many times. We then watched them walk across the street knocking on their door and looking in through the window. This company's just fine with their team ringing doorbells and pushing into homes any time of the day or night. No matter the price, no matter the service they are selling, I'd pay double to never use their services.

My mom had gotten Vivint hooked up and we heard about it from her. When we first moved here my husband’s car window got broken and that was enough for us. Moreover, I have a four-year-old and we have other cars. It's good to watch so things don't go out of hand. We had two installed cameras outside and one in the doorbell. Their service is a bit slow but otherwise good. Their reps were excellent and the installation went well. The system has been good when there are people around and someone is knocking at the door.
