We have not had any bad experiences yet. We really like the system. The app is really cool. We have used it a lot. We have the doorbell where you can see who is at the door which is really cool. It is really fun to scare the postmen!!

I used to sell Vivint and I knew that they're a good system. I’ve had them in our home for about two years and their customer service has been great. The installation went fine and when I had a fire back in February, the reps came back and replaced the system. They had great response time because they called the fire department and then my neighbors. My house would be burned down now if I didn't have them. My daughter has another company and for what I'm paying, I'm getting great service.

I got a system from Vivint for two of my homes. Their systems have features which made things more convenient and easier for me. Thus far, their service has been excellent. Every time I had an issue when I added on my new home, their representatives walked right on through. They showed me step-by-step on how to operate and manage everything from my phones, from my panel, and from my remote control. I love the smartphone features of the system as well and they are very easy to use. I'm a well-satisfied customer of Vivint's. If I know anyone who is looking for an alarm system or is buying a house, I'd introduce them to Vivint.

I really like Vivint's products and it seemed to fit the need that we were looking for as far as cameras and remote access. I've used a couple of different security service providers before but Vivint is head and shoulders above the rest. They seemed to have thought of almost everything. We haven’t come across anything where we see them fall short. The online sales reps were very helpful and very accommodating. If I had any questions or concerns, they were always there to answer. And their install guy was amazing.

Everything was explained. Questions were answered. My expectations were exceeded. Very pleased with the process. Cory and Mike were very knowledgeable and took time to walk me through every step. I am happy! I had a couple of ideas about camera placement that Mike and Cory gently explained wouldn’t be the best and explained exactly why.

We’ve had this system for about 2 years now. Can’t wait till our contract is up. Tried to set up a technician to come out for a problem we were having and he or Vivint canceled the appointment and said they would call to reschedule. Instead they just showed up when we weren’t there and never called us back for a follow up (this was over 3 months ago). More problems than it’s worth. So much so that we added additional security devices that are unrelated to Vivint. Maybe others have had better luck, I’m just speaking from our personal experience. Will never sign a 5 year contract again.

All employees we have dealt with have been friendly, knowledgeable, and answered all questions without issues. We felt no pressure to add anything we weren't ready for. The install process took about an hour and was easy to use immediately.

We had the Vivint system installed at our commercial location based on the recommendation and assurance of a top Vivint technician. The system was inadequate for our location, as we had trouble with sensors, the secondary glance panel and cameras linking up properly. Vivint is also unable to install a smoke or heat detector in commercial buildings. This system might be good for homes - BUT IT IS NOT GOOD for commercial use.

The Vivint sales representatives I worked with wanted to hug me like glue when they thought I was gonna spend about $23,400. They wanted to make a sale. I wanted to buy an alarm system and they were determined to hook me up before I left, so I ended up buying one. They were good and they helped me out a lot. I customized the package. We have a farm with three houses on it and we rent out one of them. We needed some security at our house because we’re gone most of the time during the day. The satisfaction with the service has been good.
However, when we had a problem, we called and they were scheduling three to four weeks out. When your alarm system is giving you problems, you don’t wanna wait that long to get a service. So, Vivint needs to have some more help in addressing service in scheduling. And when the guy finally came, he came unannounced. There was no contact from Vivint about, “We got you scheduled for this day and so forth.” But he did a good job and he got everything up and running again.
The installation went well, although I noticed that I had a lot of slowdowns on my internet. Once the system was put in and when the tech came out to do the repair, he said that they had the modems or the router way too close together when they installed it. They had them stacked and it was getting an incredible amount of heat buildup which was slowing everything down, so he moved stuff around and seemed to be working a lot better now. The guy during the initial installation was very good and very helpful and he explained things. During the second experience, we told them what we wanted and he had it. They worked well and he was able to bill us for it. We put another camera in the house. I recommend Vivint with a caveat that I hope they would improve on their service time.

I am so happy with my new security system. I can now view all movement inside and outside of my house! My rep was awesome, very professional, answered all of my questions and was never pushy. I don’t mind at all spending a little more for a lot more security! Love it!

We had some basic home security installed in our rental. It included door bell cam, 3 door sensors, breaking glass sensor, and one motion sensor. Our install tech was great and made sure to explain everything to us before installation, during install, and before he left.

Didn't think I needed the emergency necklace. Tom didn't used and died on the 28th. It is difficult to punch the code numbers into the panel with my trembling hands while the alarm is piercing. It was good when the person got on the phone but it seemed like forever.

I have problems with door lock and now with cameras and I call customer service and they schedule appointment for almost 2 weeks. Still waiting for repairs. I have problems with the system since installation. I am not very happy with service.

My thermostat hasn't worked since installing several weeks ago. After several failed "chat" attempts, I finally was successful in reaching a human yesterday. After 52 minutes of troubleshooting, the lady informed me that she would get someone out to fix the problem (which was my 1st request rather than spend an hour of my time on the phone).
Again, the product hasn't worked since installation. The technician called to inform that he was on the this morning at 7:30 am et this morning. The appt was for 8:00. I called around 8:30 to make sure he had gotten in ok as my mom was meeting him at 8. She lives two houses over. He informed me that he had moved onto another appointment since no one answered the door. In disbelief, I asked "why didn't you call me?" His reply was that he did in fact call me...at 7:30 to make me aware he was on the way. This is the same level of BS I might expect from Comcast or some other incompetent provider but certainly not what I expected from Vivint. I've requested a member from Vivint's mgt team give me a call. I haven't heard from anyone.

There a is constantly something offline, I get emails almost daily asking for reviews. There’s people that walk around my neighborhood doing quality control. I wish we didn’t get it. It was originally installed and programmed wrong which caused a false alarm. The people that that installed it were nice but didn’t know what they were doing.

I have been with Vivint for years. Their products are good, customer svc reps helpful & courteous. I look for dependability & a company that stands behind their product. Technology changes constantly & sometimes causes issues with anything you buy these days. I have had issues throughout the years (minor) but they stood behind their product until my satisfaction. My sister has Vivint in California and she has had good experiences with it so I went with the same company. I had a little bit of customizing done on the package that I got as I wanted to be able to check the videos whenever I wanted to. I dealt with two people from Vivint and their technicians were outstanding. They were very knowledgeable and professional. The first was during my initial install and that technician introduced me to the product and the full potential of the business in itself. Then I had somebody come out when I had a problem. Although I had some problems with the cameras, I like Vivint's service overall. I'm enjoying it so far and I know that if we have a problem, we could contact their tech assistant.

We found that Vivint was more up-to-date than ADT and so we got them as our new security system provider. Initially, when we got the system, we were told our old system was compatible with the new one. Most of it was, but the smoke alarms were not. Vivint had to replace the smoke alarms and we weren't too happy with that. Still, we had a good talk about it and that’s water over the hill. We've had Vivint for almost a year now and things have been going well. We're very happy with the features that our system has.

Fairly intuitive mobile and home interface. Very customizable. Response to trouble calls was pretty good, only a minor hiccup in timing following original install date. Would have been better if techs were trained to remove panel of former security company... We're stuck with ours...

So far so good. I've had the security for about a week. Very responsive of every motion detection including the doorbell. Very good for peace of mind. Just wish I can record at least a min instead of 30 seconds when doorbell goes off.

We were not informed that internet was needed for the system to work correctly. Our app would lock our doors when we were out of town it just didn't work for us. We cancelled our services and we were told that they would patch up where they drilled holes on the walls and doors. The patch job they did was unacceptable. I figured they would of done a better job. Holes are still visible.

I have the motion sensor, front and back door, and the carbon monoxide thing from Vivint. And then I had a doorbell camera that I added to the package. I've got a three-year-old and the carbon monoxide sensor was not as much for me as it was for him. I didn't want anything bad to happen, so I got that. And then for my front door, if I'm not at my house and somebody knocks on it, I wanna know who's in my property and who's around.
I've been with Vivint for four or five years and the only issue that I've had so far was, for some reason, my main screen that I activate everything with went out. So, I had to get somebody to come by and work on it. And Vivint sent somebody out who reprogrammed it and it kicked right on. And then it was working great. Also, about four or five months ago, the screen and my doorbell camera messed up and I had to get somebody out. But other than that, I really haven't had any issues about anything. Everybody has been super friendly and really helpful and they've been here when they said they were gonna come. It's good service for sure and everything has been going pretty smooth.

The features I have with my Vivint security system have been great when they worked. I kept having issues with my doorbell. Someone came out to fix it and he was very quick and got it done. Vivint's customer service reps have been fine too, but yesterday, I was on the phone for an hour trying to troubleshoot.

First, while the reps that pitched Smarthomes products were professional & courteous, and the tech that did the installation was attentive, I was charged $27.58 more than the quoted amount I understood as $53. Second, after the 2 reps that explained the products & what we wanted & agreed upon left, Scott the tech proceeded to do the installation. 2.5 hours later the tech says, “I don’t know what happened but I need you to re-sign because the price quoted didn’t include the outside camera not the back door.” He offered to remove the camera & lock on the back door to bring the cost back down to the original $53 as agreed upon. However, after 3 plus hours of installation I thought, there must be miscommunication and Harrison, would clear it up. Harrison said that he would return today but it’s at 5:30 so he probably is a no show. Not good business when a new install ends up costing more than the original quote.
Last, unless the documents for what was supposed to happen vs what happened are in an email, I did not get the document with the order number to confirm and or dispute what was included in the $53 quote vs the oops it’s actually $80 but Harrison said he spoke with Headquarters and they will do $75... I’m unsure about this now and I’m sure that most of the acts Vivint promised “what it will do” it did not.

I liked the no pressure sales approach by Mike **. Very honest about the product. I like being able to monitor my home from anywhere and the notifications the system sends you on your phone. Downside is the main panel has had some bugs in it which are annoying as it stops recording visitors at door, panel goes in-op for unknown reasons which is troublesome. I still give it a four rating because of the responsive service from Mike. I just call and he or a service tech respond to the problem and correct it. Overall, would recommend product.

Our sliding door sensor fell off a day after it was installed and our $250 door lock does not work in the manner that our install technician said it would. So we are forced to negate using the lock when our son needs to use it since he does not have a smartphone to unlock it.

I have called more than a few times about my cameras not functioning correctly and then they figured a smart drive with 24/7 recording would help. Nope! Now it’s even worse. Cameras constantly shut off prompting me to unplug and reconnect. Then the panel itself reboots on its own repeatedly. I called and left a follow up email that was never answered back. The 3 days to return the system is over now thanks to their laid back, don’t care attitude. Doubt anyone who cares will even see this message.

Videos keeps freezing up. I ended Xfinity for Vivint and I'm not getting positive results from Xfinity. I can't answer my doorbell either. The call button is greyed out in the app. I'm so disappointed. I was told that Vivint was better but now I'm not too sure. So disappointed in my service altogether.

So I got a knock on my door and typically I don't answer the door when there are "solicitors" there... but they were very well-dressed. Their shirts were tucked in, uniforms were tight, badges were presented so all of those things made me feel at ease. After the gentleman (Collin Sales Rep) started telling me about the process, it started sounding like a product that I not only wanted but needed to ensure the security of my loved ones.
The pricing is great the accuracy and knowledge of Collin was Superior and the best part about it was the fact that within a very short period, my alarm was installed!! Between (Andrew Tech) and Collin They made SURE we knew how to work it right then and there without leaving me any doubt OR shortness of confidence... When they left I felt very assured, knowing that I was secure in my own home AND I didn't break the bank in the process which is just another great bonus! However you can NEVER put a price on SECURITY... Thank you.

I got Vivint in April. The way that it was shown in the store it was nice. I fell in love with it. When it came to my house day 15 it stop working. Unlocks my doors on its own when I'm not at home. You tried to lock it back and it won't let you lock it. Cameras go out all the time. Two service reps came and the second service rep put boosters all around my house using my outlets and it still shuts off. Horrible service. I wish I never got this service.

So. They install a wireless-n router in case the system will not work with the current wireless modem/router you have. If you lose internet signal, the system still has backup power and it uses a data network, much like a cell phone, in order to still provide coverage. What was difficult to swallow is that you are taking out an interest free loan with Citizens One bank. This way Vivint gets their money upfront for the equipment. You then need to pay off loan. Afterwards, your bill will drop to $40 per month. The equipment costs $1648.00. (That's with a modest set-up.)
Sometimes, using the app on the cell phone is a bit laggy, and you have to take an extra minute or two to make sure the system is armed. Also, the installers seem to be a bit over-loaded with work. That's good for them of course (I'm all for people working and doing something good for themselves), but for the customer, it's awkward. A team of two or three will start at your place, then another might show up to help out, then one or two of the original techs will have to leave because they need to go to another job, then the ones remaining might be visibly strained because they are in a hurry to get to their next job. In the end, in your politeness to not make their lives more difficult and let them get done, after they leave you realize you forgot to ask some questions. I know that's a mouthful. Just be focused, stay out of their way, and save questions until the end. Write your questions down.
Every home needs a security system so Vivint deserves a look. People I know also have it and they are happy. Make sure you get the certificate of install asap. I had to ask for it but I think they should have that on the day of, right there for you. It'll save some money on the homeowner's policy. And one more thing I did not like. They also don't tell you about the $75 fee for someone to come out if you have equipment issues. The way they get you on this is: Since you are purchasing the equipment from them (through the loan) they wash their hands! Now, it's between you and the bank. Vivint then comes in a egress to come out and help when you have equipment issues, for a modest fee of $75 per visit.
JUST MAKE SURE you don't let them go UNTIL THEY FIX IT or else they'll come out, troubleshoot, tell you everything "should " be good to go, and then leave. If the problem is not fixed, guess who pays another $75 for the visit? The disclaimer here is this: You shouldn't experience any problems, but problems do happen, so be prepared. (I have a friend who went through this. Heedless to say, she's not happy.)
The good news is, if you're away and someone comes around, Vivint will dispatch the police. The camera works good and you can see the person, talk to them, and even record video and take pics. Also, the equipment has smoke and fire technology. If there's a fire when you're away, they call the fire department as well. The app on your phone alerts you, wherever you are, if there is any activity around your home.

The representative was very informative, set my mind at ease. The installers made me regret going with Vivint almost immediately. They had to take the ring doorbell off my account because they couldn’t get it to work. My sky panel had to be put in a weird place. But the customer service was fabulous. Fast, polite and patient.

The entire process was pretty seamless. I bought my system through a Vivint rep inside a Best Buy where I took advantage of a Best Buy financing deal which saved me from committing to a 4-5 year contract through Vivint. The rep coordinated the sale and scheduled my installation right there at Best Buy. When the technician arrive a few days later, he was very courteous and knowledgeable. We went through what I had purchased and he actually made some suggestions to improve my camera coverage which saved me some money in the long run because I didn't really need as much as I had originally thought. He also explained the technical capability of the camera recording system and suggested getting the smart drive for what I wanted. Because of saving money by getting rid a few cameras; upgrading to get the smart drive was practically a wash!
He was very careful to not make a mess or damage anything in the house during installation as well. The only issue was when the technician was trying to close out my ticket, he was having a problem with the Best Buy sales system communicating with the Vivint sales system. Things weren't showing up properly because of the changes we made on site and it took a bit to get it all lined up on both ends. He went through the "training" pretty quickly; but that is because a lot of it is pretty self explanatory (especially if you have some kind of tech-y skills). I've only had the system for 2 days and I'm already loving it. Being able to control my thermostat or check my camera feed from my phone is awesome and convenient. So far, I am very pleased with my experience.

The Vivint salesman who came to my door was pushy. Nevertheless, I got the doorbell camera and four doors activated. There is also a sensor in my living room. The installation was very quick and I've been very satisfied with the service. However, the system goes off for some unknown reason and that has happened a few times. But, other than that, I would recommend Vivint.

We got alarms inside the house from Vivint. I've gotten a couple of false alarms in the garage at about two o'clock in the morning. The alarm squeals and I have to come downstairs and disarm it and then phone in. There's an announcement on the panel but we have a two-story house and the panel's on the main floor and our bedrooms are upstairs so it takes a little while to get up and stagger downstairs. But since the tech changed the panel about four months ago, we haven't had one lately. At present, I have a low battery alarm but I haven't gotten to it yet.
I got their app on my iPhone but I have to phone in to find out if I can use it because I have the old panel and I was told it was not that easy to do. We got a young man come around a couple of weeks ago to talk to us, just after I put this app on my phone and he couldn't help me. He said I had to phone in and then he said that I probably need a new system. I talked to somebody about it and found out that it will cost $600. However, this app is working for me and I'm happy with the older panels I have. Except for that false alarm, I've been really satisfied.

I love Vivint. I had ADT before and Vivint is 10 times better. It's a very user-friendly security system. I got the doorbell, the sensors and then the Sky pen. The person I dealt with was really nice and knowledgeable. However, the installation was one thing that I was a little surprised about. It was a takeover from ADT and it took two people about seven hours to do it. Nevertheless, the installers were really nice, very polite and professional. Overall, Vivint is a great product and I had a great experience with them.

Vivint was really good until recently. The installation was done six years ago and it went smoothly. But I had a technical difficulty that didn’t get resolved on the first attempt by the technician that came out. Then I have had some general customer service issues and the recent interactions with the representatives of Vivint, in general, have been mediocre.

Vivint's always better and what they do speaks a lot louder than what they advertise. Their response time is the best there is. The average response time for us is about seven seconds. Now for other people, it’s between a minute and a half and three and a half minutes. And if I’ve got a fire, the fire can spread a lot in three minutes. So we have that much of a jump on it if it ever happens and that's why we're still with Vivint. Also, their reps have all been great. But I had trouble with one guy who sounded like he was under a lot of pressure from up above him and we just didn't see eye to eye. We were negotiating and he kinda blew his cork. But that’s okay. Somebody else called me back and we settled it out and it was fine. We've never been unhappy with Vivint.

We moved to a brand-new area and my wife was very uncomfortable just being in an unknown area. So, that’s the reason why we have started with Vivint, but this is a bare-bones package. We’ve got the single security unit, the doorbell and all of the different sensors that are associated with them. The installation went very well and the installers cleaned up after themselves. And when we initiated the system, everything was actually good. The minute that somebody was at my doorbell, I would be able to talk through the instant notification on the app. But now, the app is more of behind at all times. Outside of that, everything is excellent.

My service package with Vivint comes with the camera in the back and in the front, and the doorbell camera. My interactions with the Vivint team have been okay, however, I’ve had a problem with the service and they’ve had to come out on several occasions. The first time, the camera was installed incorrectly. Nobody could tell me what was wrong with it. Then finally it got to where the camera just didn't work anymore.
One guy came out and told me what was wrong with it. It wasn’t even synced to this little bit that was inside the garage and he synced it to that. Then they put up an old camera. But, I told them that I didn't pay for an old camera. I paid for the new updated equipment. And so, they finally said that they would bring out the new camera that I paid for. So they finally brought the camera out and the guy who put it up was out there for a very long time.
Then the back door camera was plugged incorrectly and the guy had to take that down. So the last time they came out, the guy put it up and rewired it. He drove the hole where to put that in the beginning. Then he also disabled all the live wire that was wrapped clean around my house, which was a fire hazard, and he did it the way it was supposed to be done. That young man was such a great guy and he gave his all. He was the only person who took time to see what the issue was. This is the second year that I've been with Vivint. And they just figured what the problem was this year and it was corrected after four people came out. So to appease me, Vivint gave me three months free.

The service has been great except there’s one little bug that is currently trying to be figured out by the technical team. The app allows you to be notified when a door is left open for “X” amount of time (brilliant idea with 2 small kids). Sadly it’s not working in my phone at the moment. I have no doubt I will LOVE Vivint once it’s resolved!

I'm a new customer and here's my experience so far... The salesman was good, he answered all of my questions and convinced me that this would be a good deal. The installation was a joke. It took over 3 hours and he didn't leave my house until after 11:00 PM. He seemed to not know what he was doing. His boss even came and was getting super mad at him. He drilled a hole in my door frame and ended up not using it, so it looks bad. He didn't clean up his mess on my front porch...we didn't realize it until guests came over the next day. Then he left knowing that the window sensors and the glass break sensors weren't functioning properly and talking with the panel. He just told us to go push down hard on everything. It was a joke!
My glass break sensor has not worked the entire time we've had the system. I've called 4 times now (waited on the phone for over 20 minutes to talk to anybody each time) and the same thing happens. They troubleshoot it, reboot my system, it works for about an hour and then disconnects again. Then yesterday my panel froze on the doorbell camera... I couldn't get the screen to change at all and it was getting dang hot. So I had to call in again and they had to reboot everything. I really want to terminate the service, I have not been provided with the service I agreed to pay for and to be honest, based on my experience I would not recommend Vivint to anybody.

I am disappointed with what we are receiving vs what we are being charged. For starters, I was promised a "soft pull" on our credit to check eligibility and it was a "hard pull". I was notified by the credit bureau the following day and was livid. We have several false notifications on our front door, the installer damaged the wall and left his wrappers, boxes, and drywall dust all over the place. The whole experience has soured me on Vivint. For all of those things, I am able to look at my porch and driveway and remotely set alarms and unlock one door. Not worth it. Within 3 days, I mailed the request to cancel. Anxious for the equipment to be removed. But I'm sure I'll be cleaning up their mess again.

However we were told no upfront cost and after they were already ripping out my old panel and doorbell then they told us that we had to pay the first month up first?? And missed a sensor in my safe room? I mean if it's a free trial for the first month why must I pay for it? Then trying to use the website, it just freezes up and still can't get my certificate for my insurance. I've tried using the website but I will have to make a phone call to resolve. Not too sure about this at this time. May cancel before the first month is up that I had to pay for?? The equipment is nice. However my temp in the house I have to turn down more than I did on my old state. My humidity now is like 53%. So I will have to adjust the settings I'm guessing.

The system was good and we were interested mostly for the camera and monitoring. Trying to get any of the equipment fixed when it is down, and it will often go down, takes several phones calls and weeks of your time. There is no getting out of your lengthy contract. I called to set up transfer of service to a new address. One month prior I was told some decent options. Costly but decent. When it came time to set it up, I was then told those options are no longer available. Red Flag #1. I told them I would think about which to go with, very unhappy at this point. Called 2 days later and told something different from a different person. Red Flag #2. Checked the contract. Nothing about transferring service. This system will haunt you. Don't make the same mistake as others in this area. Reviews rate them a 1.6 stars out of 5. Terrible.

The sales rep from Vivint was terrific. She was really thorough. She covered all the systems and what it would do. We're really happy with the system. We have two cameras, thermostats, and all the alarm stuff. They did a great job. They got it all up and running on day one. We had a couple of issues and customer service walked us through how to fix it over the phone. And then we couldn't fix one issue so they sent a customer service tech out and he fixed it. Overall, we're very satisfied with Vivint.

Everybody from Vivint has been really friendly. The team installed and explained everything to my wife. Also, they hid the wires so you can't see much of wiring going anywhere and they cleaned up after. And before they left, they asked if we had any questions about it. A couple of days after they installed our alarm, the supervisor for the area went by to see how everything was going. Then we also had a couple of false alarms at the house and they called right away to see if everything was okay. I have the doorbell camera and then I have a camera in the front and another one in the back. And we're really satisfied with the service and I've been telling my brothers about them.

I wanted to know what was going on inside the house if we weren't there, so I got the door camera and the inside camera on our Vivint system. And we can see it on the phone. However the main box is in the kitchen and if the alarm goes off, you can’t really hear it through the rest of the house because there is no other speaker system. Then they will send somebody later on. Also, the camera in the living room doesn’t have a sound to it like the doorbell camera does on the outside. But they were saying a feature should come out later.
The installation part is good but after you get it installed, that’s a whole other story. The system had a lot of glitches and the alarm kept going off, but they finally got the bugs worked out. I've had Vivint for so long now. And you’d think that would’ve had upgrades to get more features or better features. Once you get it, they don’t say anything after that unless you call. They have a new package out now, but it's only for new subscribers.

I like Vivint's app on my phone and it sets the alarm off and turns it off. I don't have difficulties using it, and I can get it online now so I haven't worried about it. But there are a couple of things they overlooked when they worked downstairs. We have some wires still hanging down there and I don’t know whether they would send me somebody else. Also, I call a lot of times, and I don’t get on very well like the phone was down. I can understand it, but their phone is working when I call. Other than that, we've been using Vivint service for about four years now.

The salesman and tech were both very good an on a tight schedule. The tech remained until 10:30 at night! I am not a techy person. I need someone to come out and help me physically with the door lock and alarm set features. I know there are web instructions, but they are like Greek to me. Their customer service is horrible. Their prices are higher than many other companies and if you need more equipment you have to sign another multi year contract to get it. I have been trying to cancel my account for 3 months. I have made numerous phone calls, written the required letters to them and all I have gotten is a runaround. Save yourself lots of time and money and just don't sign up. They are horrible to work with. I have been kind and professional the whole time and they want to just pass the buck and send me from one department to the other. Don't sign up with them. You will regret it.

The only problem I'm having with Vivint is that every time I call them, they tell me that there is a 15 to 20 minutes waiting time. I can understand five minutes at the most but waiting 15 minutes is too much. Sometimes it gets harder to get hold of them and I gotta call them in the morning and sometimes in the evening. They're really busy and then they can't get to the phone. I had a problem one day and I was trying to call them but I couldn't get anybody on the phone. My thermostat used to have lights on the bottom and I didn't know I could pull it out. So finally, my thermostat gave up on me and burned. They're sending me another one so now, I have to get the air conditioning people to check it out and see where it went wrong. Still, I don't know about Vivint's service and they even started to work on my solar panels so I'm a little concerned about that. But when they're on the phone, they're helping me really good.
Also, during the installation, they tried to do everything in a day but it was late when they started, around three o'clock, and there was a lot of stuff involved. We had to install all the cameras and the locks, and do the thermostat. I told them we couldn't stay there until midnight trying to finish the project and to come back the next day. But they finished about midnight. Overall though, Vivint is good on some of the stuff.

Vivint has a good product but it can be better. I've got cameras at the front and back on each side of the house, the doorbell and the switch that controls some of lights, the garage door and the lock. There are too many upgrades though, but that's nice 'cause when it works, it works great. But when it doesn't, it's always some upgrade. Sometimes they can do it over the phone but at least every second or third call, I'm gonna have to have a tech over and that's usually an issue. I'm not trying to blame Vivint but they usually have to replace one thing and I've had several different routers already. One of my cameras on the outside has also been replaced three different times.
My wife has threatened me to remove it because at one time, something was going down with it almost every month. Periodically, the cameras go offline several times. The most I've had is three months consistent without any issues. But for the last three months, it's calmed down. Plus I like the features better than some of the other stuff. I definitely like the phone app and I love the fact that I will be informed when I can let somebody in or if the garage door was open. We never wonder how we left it because we can usually check. That stuff is great! I just want some consistency. I'll be going out of town and I need to double check on stuff periodically. It's summer right now and we've already got a couple of kids that are back home from school. So I have two cameras inside and I wanna make sure that the kids are behaving when my wife and I are at work. But sometimes, I can't even check that because the camera is not working. It's offline.
The only other bad thing about Vivint is when I've called to get service or the 1-800 number, the least amount of time that I've been on with them might have been 25 minutes. But it's usually about 45 minutes and that's a long time. I try not to call because it's always gonna be like that. But when the technician put the equipment in, everything worked fine. The guy went through everything and he did a great job. In fact, all of the guys that's come in has done a great job. But when I got my home internet people and they looked at that, they told me that the technology should be upgraded. They said that sometimes, because my home interest is too fast, some of the equipment Vivint is using, which are older, can't keep up with the internet. So I haven't been completely satisfied with Vivint because the equipment is so-so but I've definitely recommended it already.

When I was in Best Buy looking to purchase another alarm system, the sales representative introduced me to Vivint. He recommended several things but for my need at that moment, I just selected the video monitoring of the front and back of my house. The installer, Justin, was very hands-on and he explained the whole process. I have an older home, therefore the installation took longer. Justin took the time to install and to see what he needed from the areas he wasn’t able to tap into. He was just a dear and he made that experience great. Also, the response was fairly quick. At that time, I did allow to disarm the alarm and it went off, and they contacted me on my cell phone. I’m very satisfied with Vivint and I have recommended them.

I don't like that Vivint don't offer the same deal to older customers as they would for new customers. I have a very old camera that only has this one feature in the room but they were offering new customers different types of other features.

On Friday May 11, a salesman came to my house to see if I would be interested in Vivint Home Security. I liked the look of it so I agreed to switch from ADT to Vivint. Payment was collected at that time, and within a half hour after he left a technician showed up to install the system. He installed about half of it, and told me he would need to return at a later time to install the rest because it would take a long time. We agreed on Monday the 14th. He called me about lunch time to establish a time to come out. We agreed on 5:30pm that same day. That was the last time I heard from him. He did not show up, he did not call to reschedule. Just never heard from him again.
I waited until Wednesday the 16th to call and cancel. On Saturday the 26th, a technician came and removed the equipment and replaced the ADT equipment. However, now my ADT panel no longer works. I did not cancel ADT, because I was waiting until the new system was installed, since it never was, I still have ADT. But, since it was removed and replace, the panel will not even power on. So now, I am worse off than when I started, and I am still awaiting the refund on the money that they had to have right away in order to install my system that they never installed.
Updated on 06/18/2018: I agreed to take Vivint Home Security, and replace my existing ADT. They installed half the system and left and never came back. So, I cancelled. It took nearly a month to get my money back, and when they uninstalled their equipment, my previously working ADT system was no longer working. The panel will not even power on. I made it clear in my previous review that it was ADT.
I received a reply to my review from a Vivint representative saying "we will gladly help you with that! Please email us at socialcs@vivint.com at your earliest convenience for further assistance." So I emailed them and requested further assistance. Further assistance constitutes them explaining to me that the panel they broke is not theirs, so there is nothing they are going to do about it. Stay away from this company, they will leave you worse off than you started and then absolve themselves of all responsibility for their actions.

I have been approached before by other reps in Vivint all nice. However something about Hugo made me sit down with him. I listened while he got attacked by a 5 month old puppy. It was way too funny. He even got a video. The funniest was when my son wet the flower bed, dog got muddy and so did Hugo. He took it like a champ. Best part whatever material your pants are made out of they are the best, looked like it never happened. He was the best. Installers made us laugh and tell stories. They were quick, polite and did their job perfect. I could have not been happier that day. Thank you for an awesome experience.

Vivint may be a little more expensive for the equipment but you get what you pay for. Like that you own it and it is mobile for when you move. Like the 100% guarantee. The price for monitoring will never go up. Also if our police officer in the neighborhood got it then that says something.

Ayzaia, for being such a young guy, was very knowledgeable about the Vivint products. However, after telling me everything I would get at the incredible price he was offering, there were two items they could not install. Because I have a dog over 50 lbs I couldn’t use one of the movement sensors. Then I found out my garage door opener is newer than their equipment, so that didn’t get installed. Yes it brought my payment down, but I would’ve liked to use the garage door moreso than the sensor. Other than that it’s a great system, a great deal and Ayzaia was very respectful, as were the two other gentlemen that did the installation, Nate and Joe.

Our cameras not working as we expect it to work. For example, the recording clips are too short, when we viewed one clip then go to the other clip, it's missing some information. Sometimes it does not show all the moving figures and sometimes there are no recordings for approximately five hours on one of the camera. This system has also decrease the internet speed in our home. We called for it to be cancelled or fixed but no one came neither call us back.

We had people coming into our yard and I have no gates, and even though I have a garage door, it does not cover the whole front entrance so they will find a way to get through. My tenant pointed it out to me and I decided to have Vivint. I've had it for over five years now and it's been okay so far. I purchased a program where you place a camera in front of your window but it was useless to me. But I still have the sensor noise because it watches all the entrances outside.
However, Vivint locked me in a contract and every month they deduct an amount that I owe them. And if I stop, then I gotta pay the difference out of my pocket so there’s no way for me to stop. I have to finish whatever I’m locked in. Also, they don't have a whole lot of technicians that are available. You have to wait for them to fly over. When my smoke alarm was making strange noises, I had to have one of my friends who was working here to fix it for me. Otherwise, they do a very good job when they fix the problem.

Vivint's installation team was fine at what they were supposed to and and the service has been great. However, the salesman made a few statements that we found out weren't exactly true. According to him, they were having a contest at that time and he was really wanting to win this trip to someplace where the top salesman got to go. He even told us a couple of weeks after we signed up that we got a years’ worth of LifeLock if we signed up which we found out was a lie. I talked to him about the LifeLock and got absolutely nothing that we pretty much figured that we just got lied to in order for him to get us signed up. I sent Vivint an email about it and I haven't gotten a response back. Also, I’ve had issues where keypad on the front door goes dead. It drains the battery out of the console. Also, I lose contact with the panel on my sensors on my garage doors in the shop, especially in the winter time. Despite those, I would still recommend Vivint to a friend.

Our neighbors have Vivint. I looked up Vivint's reviews on the internet and these looked nice, so I called them. There were also a few properties here that used Vivint's service, so I decided to give them a try. We just got the regular service package and we don’t have any feature related to fire or anything for the basement, and I would have liked to have the fire option included in our package.
The installation of our security system was good and smooth. When we had the installer in the house initially, he didn’t realize that there were gonna be only a few window sensors installed. The offering that Vivint had made to us had only seven or eight window sensors, but we have a lot of windows in the house and those sensors only covered half of the windows that are facing outside. But the installer helped us get installed for more windows. I had to talk to Customer Service and they changed our service contract to add seven or eight more window sensors. There are 14 window sensors now and that helped.
The customer service reps were receptive and fantastic, but the only caveat was that they asked us to bump up our contract from two years to three years. I've been Vivint's customer for almost two years and the service has been good. We've had some false alarms by mistake and the service was fast. Overall, our experience with Vivint has been okay, but we still have some issues with the Wi-Fi connection. Our system still can’t connect and keeps losing the connection to the Wi-Fi. We tried to get that fixed and they sent us a new modem, but it didn’t work. Then they installed a new device and it worked for a few days, but the Wi-Fi connection was lost again. A person came over to help and he fixed the problem, but the Wi-Fi connection was lost two days after he left.
Last year, the Wi-Fi module started malfunctioning and it took quite a while for the Vivint folks to figure the problem out and fix it. But now the Wi-Fi module is working fine. Another interesting thing that happened was that when we were out of the country and in India, one of the sensors went off and we got scared. So, the cops went to our house and took a look, but everything was fine. The sensor went off again two to three times, so the Vivint guys changed the sensor. That was the time we realized that the Wi-Fi was not working fine and that has really affected us last year, but all that has been resolved now. Vivint has a good home security system, but I would tell people to check the prices.

We've had Vivint for less than a year and it's been good so far. It’s a little bit buggy sometimes trying to find equipment, but overall, we like it. I like how they have apps and that you can control stuff from your phone away from home, remotely. Also, the reps have been great. There have been instances where we had baby sitters that didn’t know how to work the system very well, but the response time was good.

I had to take on a contract with Vivint when I bought my house years ago. I went into it knowing I wanted a security solution. The rep said I could put in four more sensors and went around with the ones he suggested. Everything seemed to make sense. He scheduled an appointment for an installer to come by and I was told they'd be there late in the day. The installer called me on his way to the house. He had everything done really quickly and he was very professional and helpful.
I have the standard monitoring entry and windows and motion sensors. Those were already in the house and I didn't really care for the video doorbell and stuff like that at the time. I've been happy with my system. It works and it has been reliable. I had one false alarm in three years and it wasn't caused by me. They are always quick to call and very helpful on the phone. One thing I really like is like the cellular failover. If my internet goes down or there's a power outage and that's running up batteries, it can still communicate with their system which is good peace of mind. Vivint is simple and also has a good price. I would recommend them.

I was extremely impressed with salesman Austin but unfortunately am not satisfied with service already. I don’t like the camera view, the volume of my voice speaking to people on porch and also the response time to distress signal. Also was told I was going to receive certain security items but only received 2 door sensors, one motion sensor, door bell and monitor. The back door sensor is already not working and had to bypass it.

Panel is not working and the system don't send notifications when door or garage door left open. Also, I been promised that the first month was going to be free, and I already been charge in my credit card. This is the second time I had to call to report a problem in two weeks of service. We moved into a house with a Vivint security system already installed and then we had it modified. We upgraded our panel, got an indoor camera and the doorbell ring. Dealing with the Vivint rep went perfect and we had a great experience as well with the guy who did the modifications. He was very helpful and he showed us step-by-step how to work the panel, set us up with doing the password and how to work it. Lately however, I’ve noticed that the app is really slow. So when I get a notification like my doorbell detected a visitor, it takes forever for it just to pull it up.

Both Chance and Lloyd were very kind and respectful to my family and I. I felt like the sale of this was a little rushed so I couldn't think of questions to ask at the time before I signed. Installers should be more thorough with H/O on where exactly they would like everything installed. Installers need a tape measure to center Smoke & Co detectors in ceilings. Also I think the wires from the camera’s look like crap. You need to hide them better or teach installers how to fish them through. Personally I would have and will now have to re-run these wires and re center the Smoke, Co, and Glass detectors because I do not want to see work like this in my home. I actually have more to say but do not want to keep going with all this. Very nice gentlemen though.

This system is really great. Being able to monitor our home from wherever we are by our phones is a great comfort. This system has helped our teenage daughter feel more comfortable being home by herself during the day. Not having to worry about forgetting our house keys and being locked out. I wanted a front door camera and was walking through Best Buy trying to figure out what kind to buy. I saw a Vivint stand and a guy did a good job selling the product. He was knowledgeable explaining to me what my options were and it seemed like the best thing from my book for a home security. I customized the package and got sensors in all the windows, the outdoor cameras where I wanted them and two indoor cameras.
The installation team showed me how everything works and it was quick and easy. They had to draw a hole to put the outdoor cameras inside and it wasn't noticeable. The only hiccup I had was when there was some kind of system update that messed with the system for a day. But other than that, it’s been working pretty fine. Overall, Vivint seems pretty good and I recommend them all the time. They just keep doing what they're doing. It's a great product and one doesn’t have to break the bank for it.

I've always had an amazing experience with Vivint. I have a very basic package that includes motion detectors and indoors sensors, and I have the panel which I’m able to control with my phone. The smartphone features are really easy to use, but I had to do an upgrade and when it happened, I was no longer able to use the feature on my phone. I called and they said that it was because of the package I had, but since I'd been using it, they just added that back on. Whenever I had someone out, it’s the same guy and he’s always super cool and really easy to understand.

I got a basic entry level package from Vivint which included the doorbell and a couple of key components. I can run everything through the Vivint app-- the front door and the back door. I can monitor the doorbell. I got the camera in the house, the motion sensors and the windows sensors. All that stuff was great, but I wasn’t happy with the garage door. The system is not compatible with LiftMaster doors. I can see that the door is open or closed for security, but I can't use the app to open up. I was told twice that it had to do with the LiftMaster doors.
Also, I had the Element thermostat originally and I was told that I could control the fan on-off times. But it did not have the function to circulate air, so they came out and corrected it and put the Nest thermostat in there. The tech guys were great. When I had started having these questions and minor issues, Vivint was receptive. I called them, they apologized and sent a tech out. I'm totally happy with the Vivint system.

We have recently entered into a contract with Vivint Security to monitor our residence. We have been customers for 2 weeks and the system is working as described. As we get more accustomed to this system it will provide us with offsite and onsite security.

From the representative that sold me the system to the install technician everything was great. The install happened about 30 minutes after I made the decision to get the system. The next day our representative that sold me the system returned to see how it was going. Excellent Customer Service!

When I signed up with Vivint, it was great. At that time, I didn’t know too many places that allowed you to view your home from your mobile phone. Also, instead of me going all the way downstairs to turn on the thermostat, I can do it from my phone. But now, there are a ton of providers that do that and they have better service. When I signed up with Vivint, there was all this great talk about what they can do but so far, it's just horrible.
My panel keeps disconnecting from the internet and for some reason they cannot figure it out. They said I needed a Wi-Fi booster and I got that from them but the problem kept going on. Then they said I needed something else. They sent me the router because they said that their router won’t disconnect but the panel still had the same issue. The panel kept going in and out, and I couldn’t get a live feed from wherever I was. Whenever people rang the doorbell, it would not record. I tried to call up there so many times to get out of my contract because at this point, I’m not safe and I would not recommend them to anyone either.

Originally, we were very satisfied with Vivint. They were great before. However, they upgraded us to the new equipment and it had been a nightmare. The new equipment was horrible and we're not the only one with a new one. The installation of the old and new systems was fine. The older system worked perfectly but the newer system had major bugs in it. The cameras didn't work and it kept failing. The app didn't work as well and the cameras didn't talk to the app. There was a couple of times we were on the phone with tech support for like an hour. They were trying to walk us through how to fix it. Their service people had been out quite a few times to fix it as well. They did their best but it was the product. But the system does seem to be working now as well as the app and it's been that way for a few weeks. So I'm hoping that whatever bugs they had, they finally fixed it after a couple of months.

When my Vivint system was installed, it went fine. But I had it reinstalled because I wanted to change the placement of the panel and that went fine also. However, I still have a problem with its door codes. They disappeared from everything earlier in the year except for the panels so I can't get the codes anymore. And I've already called three times about that. Otherwise, everything's been great.

We already had a system installed from the previous owners and was approached by door to door sales representative. Davis was very polite, informative and even convinced my husband to go ahead and signed up. He always made sure I understood everything I was getting and made sure to answer any questions I had. Chris was the technician, he got in and figured everything and went to updating and setting the system up right away. All with a crying 2 year old with me. I appreciate the representative that I spoke with on the phone too. I can’t remember her name but she helped answer and fixed the problem I had with billing in a matter of minutes. So far I am pleased but I must admit the camera placed in back is not adequate for viewing. Perhaps more cameras may be needed. It appears we might need at least 2 more cameras. Also the images from the doorbell camera is not so high definition.

Request installation service people to come back several times. They cannot come and hook up stuff anywhere they want to without my input. Their modem/router knock out my WIfi throughout my house. Have made several calls to get the problem straightened out. Now I am wondering if I made the right decision to switch from old security system to Vivint.

We found the salespeople used high pressure sales tactics. They have a very short cancellation period (10 days) which is something to be aware of. They installed same day which left holes in our walls after we cancelled it. They also require a 5 year contract where most companies offer 3 and for a much better price.

I moved into a house and the people that lived there previously had Vivint already installed. Everybody on the phone with their customer service has been wonderful and extremely helpful. Unfortunately, there have been a lot of problems. For the first two months that I lived there, something went wrong every single day, so I was on the phone with customer service all the time. I had those specialty plugs that should link up with stuff and I had to have two separate plugs sent to me. My glass breaker in the basement was broken and they sent me a new one, which was so great and such great service. But it turned out they sent me a refurbished one, and then it broke. They had another one sent to me. It was every day that something was beeping on the panel and it was not hooking with my Wi-Fi.
I had three separate service people come out and, although each service person was wonderful, I was very frustrated. I spent a lot of my time on the phone and to troubleshoot and people trying to troubleshoot on the phone with me. We’ve been there for four or five months now and the last two or three months has been perfectly fine. However, it took a while to get there. But they have given service. And Vivint's reps have been eager to help and each individual problem has been solved quickly. I’ve had other companies before and everybody’s got the same glitches as them.

I was impressed with the quality of service compared to my previous security company ADT. The sales rep was phenomenal with the presentation. The installers were good. The only complaint I have with the installers was they put their dirty hands on my walls. I had to clean them after they left. They could have been more professional in that regard. We heard about Vivint through a neighbor and we purchased from them a service package that includes the thermostat, the motion sensors, and the camera. We needed the camera since we had some events going on. The reps were very professional and knowledgeable. The installers were good and the installation of our security system went fine. They showed us how to use our system and they cleaned up after themselves. Everything has been good with Vivint's service.

I talk to the salesman and he shows me everything I wanted and the price is right. Maybe 10 mins and had a whole lot people in my home and they were ran around putting all the things that they had to put in my Home and all working. All the 6 smoke Detector and 1 carbon monoxide and front doorbell with a camera and all other thing I wanted. It was fast. They do over the top. Outstanding job.

We got this alarm system on a 10 day trial. We were not told that money was going to come out of my wife's account. So soon. We phoned and Vivint said that they would credit her account, because she will get 2 N.F.S. charges. Vivint took too long to put money back into her account and she ended up with 2 N.F.S charges. Then Vivint sent me an e-mail that I would have to pay their N.F.S. charges. I WILL NOT BE DOING THAT AT ALL!!! We have been deceived and now we do not want the alarm system. As of the date May 25/18 it is not working right. We are willing to go to court and sue for false advertising and being deceived and lied to. The sales rep was supposed to come back with the final agreements but he has not leaving us with no information about what is going on.

The sales rep was AWESOME! Honest, open and direct. So far the system is very cool and works perfectly. The VIVINT yard sign even has an attached solar light! Our only issue was the doorbell camera, we wouldn’t get it installed due to the distance to an electrical outlet.

We have friends who got the solar panels a couple of years ago and they recommended it. Meanwhile, I have a reverse mortgage on the house and Vivint was the only one that wanted to talk to me about it because the others said they couldn't do anything or they would check and get back to me but they never did. But Vivint didn’t seem to have a problem with it. I told them that in the meantime, I had talked to the people who have the reverse mortgage on the house because other companies led you to believe that the reverse mortgage company didn’t want it done which I couldn't understand why they wouldn't.
In addition, the people that had the solar panels installed are very happy with theirs and they had recommended that I call the salesperson that they had talked to. However, while I didn’t get around to calling the salesperson, another one came. He knocked on the door and I talked to him and told him that I had planned to call the one they had recommended. It turned out, he is no longer with Vivint. In the meantime, I also went with the doorbell camera and camera for the house and that went well but the solar panels are still up in the air. I guess all they needed to do was PNM and the roof inspection. That was all good but I didn’t hear anything from them for months.
So when a couple of people came knocking on the door to see if I was interested in solar panel, I've told them that it's in the process. It turns out, everything was expired so they had to do it again. While everyone I talked to has been very pleasant, helpful, and wanting to help, they didn’t know why the ball got dropped. They said they'd check and see and the last group that I talked to said they finally located the papers. They didn’t see any reason though why there hadn’t been a follow-up on it so I'm just on hold at the moment. Other than that, I feel a lot better with the home security system that Vivint had replaced. The new one is simple but a lot more expensive. But it makes me feel safe and I feel a lot better. And the installation process was fine as well. It was a Saturday afternoon when they came and by eight o'clock that night, it was already installed and working.

The features I have in my Vivint system work. But, I had a problem with the back alarm going off all the time and their techs had been here a couple of times with them going off. I also had another alarm put up to my bedroom because I couldn't hear it downstairs when I was up there, but I had to sign up for another three years to get the box free. Their techs have been good, though. Also, if I set the alarm off when I'm cooking and I don't realize it, their reps would be right on the phone.

We’ve had Vivint for 10 years and we've enjoyed it. My son is sponsoring it for us. We have the system for the home and the pendant which I have on me at all times. Every once in a while, I bump into it and the alarm goes off so at least I know it works. And a couple of months ago, installers were also here to put in a smoke alarm which I know that works as well because I had smoke off of my frying pan. Vivint is good for the house and people should check and sign up for it. I haven’t had any trouble with any of the people that I’ve talked to and when I chat with them, I tell them what happened and they agree with me. When an alarm goes off, they answer right away.

I am happy with the product. It is very easy to use and has many nice features. I do wish there were a way to program the inside cameras so that they would not record unless there is a break in. While we can turn the camera off it still records and that may take some getting used to. The technician was very nice and very knowledgeable. He was not as good about cleaning up after himself as I would have liked, but that is a small thing.

I love the Vivint home automation system as I can monitor my property while using the system to work with family, friends and contractors even when I am unable to be home. It is as simple as punching in a few buttons on my app and work can be completed in my absence. The doorbell camera is awesome as it captures motion and guests at my too. I am loving the constant visual of my front door and I feel safe knowing what is going on at my home even when I can't be there.

We've been having some disturbing elements in our neighborhood. This protection allows us to tune in to the world approaching, or inside our home. We have two dogs that we can check on while away from our home. The light units allow us to turn on lights from our phones without having to trudge upstairs. We're delighted with the security. The salesperson from Vivint came to my house one evening. I like the camera and the alarm systems for my windows and doors which are what I asked for. Also, the interaction with the rep was top-notch. The smoke detector was connected to my alarm and when it was making my fire alarm go off, the people from Vivint spoke to my wife and had her try to reset the smoke detector herself. Also, they tell me what I could do if I want to upgrade my system. I recommend Vivint.

My son, who works for the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office, insisted that we get a home security system when he and his wife moved out. So, we did and we added cameras. We are absolutely, positively satisfied with Vivint. Not only is the technology nice, it’s also pretty to look at and each and every time there has ever been anything that has transpired, Vivint was always there. The customer service is excellent and the pricing is magnificent. And then, when we moved from our home to our apartment, we took Vivint with us and we were insistent upon their coming with us. The installation for that was magnificent as well. The gentleman who came out was very informative. He inspected the premises and gave us some helpful hints, and together, we made some informed decisions with regards to our security system. As far as our sense of security, we feel wonderful.

I was living by myself as everybody had moved out, and I thought I might need a security system. Some guy from Vivint was going around in the neighborhood, knocking on doors and talking to people. I let him come in and I talked to him. I got one inside camera and the other three are outside. I had problems trying to get back online and they did pretty good. If they couldn’t get it together, they would send someone out. However, I’ve been having a problem with my phone. The cameras are always offline when I’m on a telephone, and I need to call them where they can give me another password because I used my password and it didn’t work. That happened to me before and what they did was they gave me a number that came on my computer and I put that into my phone. When I’m inside, everything is straight. But when I’m somewhere else, I can’t see it on my phone like I used to. Overall I’m satisfied with it.

Camera’s Poor night vision. Camera were freezing. Garage door controller will it pick up signals. Have to keep asking it to open or close the door. Request fails. Have called support line 4 or 5 times in 2 weeks. System has not impressed me.

Our son was using Vivint and he told us about it. The interactions we had with the sales rep were all positive. When we first signed up with Vivint, if there was an alarm and we answered it, they used to request the password to ensure that we're the right person. But they quit doing that. We have an order of calling and it does seem that Vivint does that. We've had a couple of false alarms and they ended up calling our neighbor who's down the list of the order of calling. They should first try to call me or my wife and then my son, and then one of the friends that we have instead. They also ended up calling the police and when the police came, my wife was home. She triggered the alarm and was able to deal with it. But other than that, the tech who comes here has always been prompt, knowledgeable and appropriate. I have recommended Vivint to my friends.

The installation of our Vivint system went great. The technician was really nice and he seemed to know what he was doing. He told me exactly what he was doing and he cleaned up after himself. I’ve had the technician back to install another sensor, and the service has been the same every time. They work hard and then tell me what they are doing, and they get things done. We'll eventually add sensors to our windows too.
I got a basic package from Vivint and the service has been pretty good. But we’ve had problems with the Wi-Fi not staying on with the pad that’s hooked up in the house. The app also sucks a little bit because it takes forever when we try to get in or leave the house using our phones. I think that also has something to do with the Wi-Fi not staying on the pad. You can’t hardwire the pad with the plastic cord directly into your router either. That would be really cool though, and I would like to do that. Nonetheless, it’s a good alarm system. Plus, every time I’ve called and said something, Vivint has sent somebody out and they've worked on it. It’s not completely better but it’s gotten better.

I'm not that happy with the product. It seems to go down quite often now. Vivint came and did a service call and then a couple days later, the cameras weren't working. Now, the system is not working and it's not hooked up, so I'm getting tired of calling them. They come out when I ask them to, but the problem just keeps repeating itself. I've gotta call them again and have them come out because now I can't even set the system. It says that another one of my break glass sensors is not working and then it says that the front door is open when it's not. Little things here and there keep popping up. The reps always try to walk me through it, and my experience with Vivint has been satisfactory. But I wouldn't recommend it to someone else at this point.

The service package with Vivint home security that we got is great when it works. We customized and we got what we wanted. We just bought a new house and moved in January and we had the service in our old house and it worked perfectly 90% of the time there. And since we moved to our new house, it has an issue one thing after another. For instance, our doorbell hasn’t been working for three weeks now.
I’m seriously calling Vivint every other week. I have to set aside like an hour of my time each time something doesn’t work. I have to go and walk back and forth between the panel and the doorbell and reset it that way. It takes forever and then I’ll get everything squared away and then the following week, the driveway camera won’t work. So I’ll just climb up the ladder and push the button on the back of the camera and go back and forth between the panel. It’s a huge pain in the butt. The customer service reps are always nice when I call. I just wish I didn’t have to talk to them. Before all of these happened, I recommended Vivint to everybody. I loved it. It was amazing. And now it’s just more of a hindrance than help. I’m so frustrated with it.

So far we have been very pleased with the ease of purchase, installation, and problem solving. The salesperson knocked on our door after my husband and I had talked about getting a security system. The timing was perfect!

Equipment is a little on the expensive side, installation was prompt and professional. Sales person was likable, knowledgeable and overall pleasant to have over.

All involved (sales, tech, install) were excellent. Professional and courteous, would recommend this service to others. Equipment appears to be of high caliber and I like that Best Buy is affiliated with Vivint since it is a reputable company and gets this product to consumers so easily.

I have had Vivint for 5 months now. I have only paid 1 bill in full due to the various technician visits. I have had so many camera issues. I have had a new panel replaced. Now I am having my panel moved due to the fact that it is not compatible with the wiring. I have not been able to view video clips in a month. I really hate Vivint and will do whatever I can to cancel this service. I do not recommend them to anyone.

Switching to Vivint was an easy decision after all the benefits were explained to us. The high-tech, Smart Home technology is so easy to use and definitely worth the money. Being able to check on the house without driving all the way home give great peace of mind. Signing up and the installation process was super simple and everyone we have dealt with has been both personable and professional! Definitely a great decision to add Vivint in our home.

Waited for 2 weeks for them to complete an installation. The tech overloaded my WiFi box and all of my tv service blew out for the night. The representative promised me a free camera to keep me and then retracted!

I cannot get over how wonderful my experience was with the installation of the security system. Not only do I feel much safer with having that installed in the house but Brad was wonderful. He was professional and extremely helpful showing me how to use the system. He offered advice as to where he thought the best placement for the cameras were and did such an awesome job showing me how to use everything. He was fantastic! I highly recommend this system and Brad for installation! I was very impressed!!

I've been with Vivint for almost a year and they're doing well. Vivint's guys are good salespeople. They got me in trouble with my family because they are so smart selling all different ideas of why we have to use it. Still, I give credit to their team. They did a great job. The installation was good as well. There are two friends that moved in and I told them about Vivint and why it's important. They like to see me playing with my phone opening it and closing my doors. It feels cool and I could tell from the way they look at the system, it's time that they wanna have it and have theirs working the same way.

Vivint's sales rep explained how the system works and explained everything really good to us. I like being able to see who’s coming to my house. We had put in wiring already for the installer to make it easier for them and to make sure that we got it where we wanted it. The installer explained everything to us again and some things that we might have forgot, how you use it and everything else. He would help us if we needed it. I really like the system and I talked to a lot of people interested. It’s awesome and you can keep adding whatever features that you want to it when you’re ready for it.
