I am pleased with the service so far and especially like the camera at the front door and the ability to set or disarm the system thru your cell phone☝. The feature that I also like is the light on the alarm box and that it announces when the door to the garage is open!

Fantastic experience getting our new security system. Dale walked us through the entire process and helped us build the system that was best for our family. I would recommend Vivint to my family and friends. We felt like a priority during our interactions with Dale, and we are very pleased with where we stand now.

Your installer was courteous and on time for the weather installed everything explained everything he was doing. Didn't mind us asking all sorts of questions and he was very knowledgeable about how everything worked. He was also very helpful in helping us Learn how to set up everything.

The tech left my garage door & light on- I didn't know it was open until the next morning when I was leaving that it was left open all night. I cannot get the google to connect. I don't know how to make the system alarm automatically at 10 pm & disarm at 6 am like I was told when the sales rep was at my house.

When the installation was half done there was a lot of mess left and he tripped my ac fuse several times now my air blows hot the nest is wired wrong I reported it on the 6 th and my house has been with out air sense I’m still not able to be there I’m not a happy customer as it will be 6 days sense you know the tech wired me wrong all I see is you want money and don’t care for my health nor my house

The monitor froze after one day, and have had conflicting advice and scheduling to fix problem with system, so it is currently not working?! I am considering stopping payment on this device, so please provide me with a remedy as soon as possible.

Customer service is full of over promising and under delivery straight to the top, meaning upper management Jody **. I was promised a resolution to my issues with Vivint for four weeks now and to this day nothing is resolved except for being put on permanent ignore. Thank you, Vivint.

We just had a salesperson come to our house. One my stupid husband let her in which is very unsafe. Also this person is coming at 9 at night. Honestly they need a life and go be with their own family. It’s sad that this company lets their employees do that. It’s unsafe for everyone. I will never buy for them. Also don’t ever knock on someone’s door that late at night just to make sure you hit your quota for the day.

When Vivint came to the door, they seemed to know what they were talking about and I was looking for something like what they have. And then I picked and chose what I wanted for the package. In addition, their customer service reps have been good. I had a few problems and they've managed to fix them. Eventhough I could get that system a lot cheaper, I had a good experience with Vivint overall.

My insurance guy said that I’d get discounts on certain packages with fire and monitoring, so I followed through with that on our service package with Vivint. Their representatives were knowledgeable and they did a great job. And the installation process was quick, easy and painless. Every time I’ve had something happen, it’s taken care of in a timely manner. The Vivint service is going fine and I’ve referred them to my friends.

Vivint's sales representative was very polite and he had his ID on. He talked to us and our dogs fell in love with him. I knew he wasn't a trap because of the reaction of the dogs. We put the dogs outside and let him come in and he explained everything. He showed us what having Vivint was gonna be like and gave us the cost. My husband and I talked about it and then we decided to get their service. Thereafter, they had somebody come out the same day who installed the system for us.
The installation team was really good. However, they were having a little bit of a problem trying to get it to set up properly. The young man who came was a bit newer to their team. He called one of his other installers who was more experienced and that guy showed him what he had to do to get Vivint's system set up. Since then, we've had the thermostat and the doorbell from their company. We also have the lock, garage door opener and two cameras. We have security at night so we can set our alarm and that's secure to keep anybody from entering.
However I had an issue with them this past week or over the holiday. Our doorbell was working properly and it wasn't letting me answer the door through the remote. So, I called Vivint and one person told me that she couldn't help me so she switched me to another rep. But, I was on hold for 15 minutes and I'm not good at holding. So, after 15 minutes, I went to their customer email address and I explained to them why I was upset because I was trying to get the problem resolved.
Vivint didn't call me back but they helped me. They have a remote control with which they can correct the problem through the system and they were able to do that. It was done within 5 minutes. Also, it kept me from holding. After three people, I was over trying to figure out what they were going to do. Still, I'm happy with what I have from Vivint. Their system works with Google so they installed their system with that and there was no extra charge. We've had a very good experience with Vivint. They've been very helpful.

Our salesman was knowledgeable and kind. The installer was prompt, knowledgeable and tidy!! So far I love the system. Worst part is now I want more apps! I feel much safer at night. I've also learned the little medical button should not go through the washing machine. We received a call from medical we weren't expecting, and learned the button was in the washer!!! Still works.

Far more than what I expected. Very user friendly system. As for the sales person and the installer, very professional. The only issue I would have was the time that the system was being installed. With the salesman coming late in the afternoon and going through his pitch and then calling the installer, the poor guy didn't get through until about 12:30 am.

Lawrence arrived on time and setup system efficiently. He removed our old panel and replaced it with the new one. He was able to use many of our old sensors so we have more coverage including motion detection and windows.

Thus far the experience has been great. There were some problems in the beginning with miscommunications between the sales person and myself. Those have been halfway resolved. If those are totally resolved and the service continues as is then I will be happy. At first there were a few problems with the service but the repair man was here in a few days. The real problem is this. The main contact is the salesman. I tried to get in touch with the company to ask a question and it took 30 minutes.

Some young sales reps came by the house and talked us into buying Vivint's security system. We got the basic system which included the window breakage sensor. So far, our satisfaction with the service has been excellent. One time, I had to replace the rear door of the house but I couldn't get the sensor out of the old door. So, when I got the new door, I called Vivint and they sent a repair tech who fixed the sensor for me.

When Vivint's reps were going around the neighborhood door-to-door, the rep that I dealt with was good and knowledgeable. I got a service package from them that has a doorbell camera and a remote that opens and unlocks the front door and the garage door. Their installation team provided good service and they did everything within a few hours. I like the features included in the service package. They are very convenient.

Everything in Vivint just seemed more up to date, like their equipment and I thought they were something I would need. I got the system and they're very responsive. And although the price part could have been a little bit more reasonable, for the most part everything was pretty decent. The sales person was fast and efficient. I had a little issue outside and it got resolved on that time. The installation went very well as well.

Since the beginning of my service, I was not satisfied. When I first placed my order, I had requested a backyard camera. However, even before I had service, my technician called me several times, indicating he did not have my panel in his truck and wanted to reschedule,which I scheduled way in advance (don't your technicians know how many customers they are servicing that day and what equipment is needed upon request of customer).
After my husband and I said we are not rescheduling, technician came and said he did not the tools to install my backyard camera and I had to call and make another appointment. When I asked about the Google minis, he did not have anymore and said he placed a call and will have them delivered to me. He also mentioned Vivint router cannot be connected to my Verizon router - NOTE THIS. My technician also said I got an outdated panel (hence the reason he wanted to reschedule but he should of been honest why) and new customers (me) should of received a new panel 5.0. Not 2.4. After he knew about new customers getting a new panel, he still gave me an outdated one.
I called a few days later and scheduled service for my backyard camera and a new panel. When I asked about the minis, customer service rep said there is no order placed from my first visit. When my technician came, he gave me a new panel and a backyard camera. Though things were solved - NOT. Well not only did he screw up, again, don't your technicians know what equipment to bring depending on the services/ equipment rendered! After installation, I thought I was all set. Only to find my backyard camera is not working and soon discovered he screwed up my Verizon router.
He installed Vivint into my router - now I have very limited internet and after my husband called it in and after being on hold for an hour, it was discovered my technician had to change the Vivint router to a 5.0... Now, I have to wait 5 - 10 business days to get my router and hope there is no additional screw up. The only thing Vivint can do is give me 10.00 credit. I do not need a credit, I need technicians provide services they are supposed to render and install accurately and honesty. After my first issue, I should have cancelled my services and gone somewhere else.
My neighbors ask me about Vivint and I tell them to go to another provider. Now, I am stuck with services with incompetent workers. Once everything is completed, I just hope my system works. If not, I will chock up the cost and return all equipment. Also, I do not like how I had to provide a survey of their services right in front of me. How is a customer supposed to know if they are truly satisfied when in their end, they want to leave and not fix potential issues? Surveys should be conducted after they leave. Very unhappy. I would rate 0 stars - 1 star should be considered 0.

Still trying to figure out. Disappointed that I cannot use the wifi on my phone that I have to have a separate wifi. I have a iPhone and pad because it has a personal wifi. Got rid of my other one. Cannot use the device you sent me because of this also. Guess I would have thought twice before accepting offer if I had known this.

I was sitting outside and two young men were going through the neighborhood trying to promote Vivint. I liked what their system was because their telephone thing was inside. Currently it's outside and someone could come and turn that off immediately. I have the basic package from them but I still feel comfortable with it. I have their equipment in several places all over the house in case someone would come in. I feel safe with it and if anything goes wrong I know I can get a hold of Vivint.
One time, I set the system off and he police were here in a few minutes. I apologized to them because I thought they didn't need to go to any place that they're not needed as they have a lot to do. Still, the system is very good and they're on immediately as soon as something goes off. Now, all my friends know about Vivint. One of them asked what would I do if I wanted to get out because there was a fire. I told that friend that I would go down, unlock the door, go out and let my Vivint System go off.

Vivint was brought up at one of the meetings in the community affairs that I’m involved with and I showed interest in it because of my home entrepreneurial businesses. Then we were experiencing an influx of break-ins and burglaries and I decided to put the Vivint security system in. The installation team showed up and got it done, and then they showed me how to run it. Also, their workforce is very knowledgeable and prompt with not only giving me service but also information on what I need to know. All I gotta do is call them. And they immediately know what I'm asking about and needing help with.
I was able to select the features I wanted, the usage that I would be needing and the different programs for my service package. We’ve had several severe storm warnings this spring, and I was very pleased that I was getting a full warning in that aspect. I would recommend Vivint as something my friends might want to look into. And now, some of the people that I do business with have Vivint as well.

My neighbors had Vivint and I got their security service too, and it has been okay so far. I just have cameras in my service package. The sales team has been really helpful. The installers came and cleaned up whatever mess they made, and they were fine. It has been a good experience and everything's working fine.

I been having issues with my systems, that's right, systems as in multiple accounts. All of them have glitching. And Sean refused to help figure it out. So now that he ran out my week time I have one system that isn't even working. Didn't even finish getting installed but we paid for it all. Then the other two systems that wouldn't go back online and once again, no customer service there.

When the Vivint sales people came to my home I already got cameras going but I didn’t have an alarm system. They sold me on the whole camera thing and I ended up taking the services. But the whole idea of how it works, with the Nest and all that just hasn’t been working for me. At least Vivint hasn’t. And the cameras they gave me were worse than the ones I already had. They told me they would work better so that was a disappointment. When I saw it, as far as the graphics go, they were worse. They're so focused in trying to make a sale that they just neglect the customer service part of it. The whole Vivint experience has been really awful for me.

I've been with Vivint for several years and there's a reason we aren't with anyone else. We had to upgrade to the newer panel because the first system I had installed is no longer supported, so they came out and replaced the panel and the cell chip. They're usually really good at doing what needs to be done.

I've had Vivint for 10 years and for all the negative they do, they still at the end of the day will make it right and it's a really easy system to use. I've gotten all of the equipment given to me or I've paid very, very little for it. And then when you look at the other companies that are out there, nobody can redo Vivint's stuff or Alarm.com's stuff. We just moved in February and we were looking at all the other companies and again, Vivint was still the one that had the best overall price. I worked in electronic and communications so I know their equipment's good. They just suck at customer service. When you actually have to speak to a person on the phone, it's just horrible.
Yesterday, I spent 37 minutes on the phone with them. I spoke to one person. All I wanted to do is buy another camera and get an appointment set up. I couldn't even get that done. I couldn't even figure out who I answered to. I worked retail before joining the military and so retail of the old is not the retail of the new. They don't get the whole concept of "Look, your customer is pissed off. You just need to shut your mouth and let them vent and then you move on and it will be good." For them it was, "How dare you tell me I didn't do my job." Well, they didn't do their job.
When we had our system installed at our new house it took four appointments for them to come out and do it. One time they called me to say, "Hey, our technician got hurt. He's not gonna be able to come out. This is the best we can do for another appointment." It was not a problem. I appreciate them calling me the day before the appointment so I'm not sitting at home all day waiting. Then that appointment, that guy never showed up. Then the next two appointments, still no one showed up. And then finally, I was able to get through and they got someone out there.
When you're speaking to them on the phone, you're like, "Who in this line of communication is responsible for this and why are you continuing to let it happen?" "We'll look into that." "Okay. Great. I'll expect the call back in 72 hours." "Oh, we don't call customers back." Right. So you're not going to look into it, I got it. Just don't lie to me, just tell me. I've been in the military now 20 years. If I were to talk to my customers or people that I have to report to the way they do, you'd be done.
I got locked in our old house. The alarm would not disarm so I'm on the phone with Vivint and they kept telling me, "You need to calm down. If you continue to yell at me, I'll just disconnect the call." So I started cussing at that. And that person on the phone started crying because of the things I've said and called them. Then when I got the supervisor on the phone, I said, "You don't speak until I'm done speaking. And this is what's going to go on. Don't you ever tell a customer who's trapped in their house by their alarm that they need to calm down and if they don't, the call will be disconnected. That's not a good thing to say or do to your customers. It doesn't work that way."
The manager or the supervisor or whoever, I told them, "Go pull that call back up. And I will wait on hold while you listen to it." So I actually got this manager to call me back after they listened to the call. And they were kind of, "I can't believe that happened. I can't believe someone told you to calm down when you were locked in your house by our system." When I call and deal with stupid people, I'm gonna tell you you're being stupid and you need to knock it off. People get offended by that and I'm like, "Well, maybe you shouldn't suck at your job and we'd be fine."
At the end of the day, their equipment and the monitoring are the reasons why I go back. Now, whenever I try to deal with them, I just do it through their online chat program because if somebody gets annoying, I could just end the chat and start a new one. We have two little kids and two thermostat. I love the cameras. I love the thermostat. Now on our new house, we actually bought the deadbolt that works off the phone. We bought the lamp control modules. Especially for me, I'm in military. I'm gonna be deploying here very soon. My wife can control a lot of things from the phone and make things appear completely differently.
I had some issues with some of the equipment but whenever they came out, they would always test it. And then a couple of the technicians have the mentality of "I'm not coming back out here for faulty equipment. We're just gonna give you new stuff." When I moved from my old house, they sent a technician to take all the old system down. He took a screwdriver to a metal door to pry sensors off. And then he cut the wires of the camera to take them down. So I kicked him out of my house. I said, "Get out of my house. Just get out." Then the dude literally peeled off down the street.
So it was a phone call with Vivint where I actually got a decent manager on the phone right away. The problem with most companies today, and Vivint's really bad about this, is that they will not give you a manager unless you spend 30 minutes telling the first person on the phone what's wrong only to then have to repeat it to the manager. They don't give their first line employees enough authority to take care of customers. That's one of the those things that I've noticed. With some companies, they do a great job out off, "Hey! No, don't piss off the customer, just do it."
At the end of the day, they've given me a permanent discount on my monthly bill now. They've given me several pieces of equipment for free. They're trying to be like, "Hey, we can't do money but we can give you equipment and we'll see if it makes it better." So all the equipment I have is actually all mine. I own every bit of it. They've gone out of their way to try and make sure everything's working and done right because you get a bad technician, then you get a good technician, then you get a technician who doesn't even know how to spell the word technician and you're just like, "I got to figure this out." But once you get through the management or to a supervisor of any kind, it just seems like a complete night and day transformation of the company.

I've had Vivint for around a year now and I am very aggravated with this company. My car was broken into a few month ago right under the main camera but I got no video of it. The video feed only works on my phone part of the time. My doorbell camera went out and when I contacted them I was told I had to pay a technician $49 to replace the free of charge part. Now I feel like I'm only getting part of what I'm paying for but I can't get out of the contract.

Smart Hub is not working. It took forever to get installed. The Smart Hub is not working for more than 2 weeks. We made an appointment to get it fix. The soonest was like almost a week to get technician. We have an appointment today from 0900-1200. We waited all day but NO SHOW. We called to see whats going and they told us to wait a call within 24 hours to get another appointment. I just want to cancel. Such a waste of money.

Your sale and install people were in a big hurry to sell us but didn't have all the necessary parts to complete the job. We were told the rest would be installed this past Monday. Haven't been able to speak with anyone. Tried calling the sales rep with no results. We did sign a document that was for everything installed as of 10:30 PM June 28 but are missing door locks, lamp control modules and I don't know what else because we never did see all that was installed. Your people claimed to be gentlemen but I doubt very much they are so. If we don't have an answer by July 11, you can just come and pick up all your stuff that was installed and we shall go to another vendor. We're very dissatisfied!

Since installation I have problem with the Vivint system. The doorbell went out, the camera went offline, the WiFi continuously goes offline, the panel was inoperative several times. I have had the system 6 months. Every month has been a challenge.

This by far is the worst customer service I have ever received. My panel has frozen multiple times and I had a service appointment this morning that was missed. Now I'm without a working security system. RUN or don't answer the door if the salesperson comes knocking!!! Run away!!

I have had the system for about 3 weeks, within the first 4 days of having the system, all my sensors in the house went out. I was out of town during this time and wasn’t able to fix them due to me having to be near the panel to call support. Once I got back 2 weeks later, I rebooted the system thinking it just needed a reboot. It worked correctly for about 2 hours and then had the issue again. We called support in which they told me the sensors were programmed wrong or something along the lines of that.
Now I am getting ready to leave again for an extended period of time and my wife will have to make a trip back to the house just to go to an appointment scheduled randomly without y’all even calling us to tell us. You said around the 13th of July and you’d call to confirm. No call was given. I just feel a security system should be operatable 24/7 and have minimal issues. Right now I am fully regretting not going with another company. I enjoyed the system and how it works when it actually works. I hope this gets fixed soon.

No expected date for my door locks and my door does not close properly with the lock. Right now I am going to have to replace it just to replace it again when the locks finally come. They do not respond or answer their phones or get back to me on the door locks for both doors which I am already paying for and the whole reason I took the security system.

I called Vivint to let them know I was selling our house in Md and relocating to Barksdale Air Force Base in La. My job site closed in Md and I was being relocated to La. I was told there would be no problem canceling my service, just send a copy of my lease. I sent a copy of my lease, retired military ID and Louisiana driver's license. I still continue to get a bill. Called Customer service two more times and was told, they can not honor my lease because they cannot verify my address is on a military base.
I told them they can set up an appt so they can come to the base, to verify that I live here and they said they cannot install alarms on base so they cannot set up an appointment, but they will not cancel my contract. Now 1 yr and 1/2 later this is now showing as a collection on my credit report. I think what I was told originally, that my contract was eligible for cancellation, should be honored. Can someone help me with this cancellation?

We have liked our Vivint security system thus far, however, the installation process was somewhat miserable. The tech who installed our equipment had horrible body odor that was quite unbearable. So much so, that I had to leave the house with my child because the smell was so awful. The tech also was at my house much too long because he spent at least 45 minutes on the phone with Vivint, trying to get the proper information for the preinstallation survey that I needed to take, which resulted in me giving my social security number and credit card number over the phone to 4 different people (because almost every vivint rep he called, hung up on him!) Our tech was nice and got the job done, but please have the common courtesy to shower or wear deodorant before spending hours in someone else’s house.

A Vivint salesman showed us what we would be getting from them and then we decided to go with Vivint. The service package that we have from them includes security system for several windows, front and back door, a glass break detector and motion detectors inside. I'm totally satisfied with their service so far. The installation team was helpful when they showed us how the system worked, how to operate it and change batteries and the keypad. We had an older keypad before and when we got the new one, they came out and showed us how to operate it with all new features.
I have a detector for the back door and every now and then it would not operate properly. I had to request for that a couple of times and the reps tried to troubleshoot it and see if they could correct the problem from their end. However, it would be corrected for a little while and then would go off again. They need to go ahead and replace that detector. Also Vivint's price has been going up but I talked to somebody in the management and they said that the price that we pay would stay the same since we've been with them for so long. I have recommended them to other people saying that Vivint has good service and has knowledgeable people working with the company. Also, people could go over with whatever they require and whatever will satisfy them as to their security.

We could have gone with 3 other providers for our security system, but since we liked Vivint's technology and their salesman, we got them to install the security system at our place in Las Vegas. The salesman had been with the company for a long time and unlike other salesmen that just got in there making a sale and leave, he provided personal contact information and if we had any issues that we could always get in touch with him. So we've had that personal relationship ever since. We've been pleased with him and his support.
We went with the higher end package and got $3,000 in equipment. The installer was extremely professional, knew his stuff and did a good job. We liked the integration of everything from the front door entry, the key-less entry on the front door, and turning the system on and off. On the other hand, we were not able to do the same with the garage door because there was no way to do it with our particular garage door opener. We also ended up with some issues early on which was a little bit of the downside.
We had a glass break protector that was too sensitive and kept giving us false glass break readings at first. The first couple of times it went off, we were way in the summertime, so the house was empty for months on. They would call us and we'd tell them that we're not there, so they would send the armed security and they wanted to bill us $55 each call for the armed security that went out. I had told them that we were not there, it was their equipment that malfunctions and we are trusting their equipment to do the job. They had to come back, reset the glass break protector and adjust the sensitivity. Since we made the adjustment, we have not had a false alarm happen, so that part seems to be working quite well. Also, they did not send us with the bill through our account, so that may indicate it's been taken care off.
In addition, we've had two faults in the security system. We can fix one fault, but the other one, we can't. When we want to arm or disarm the system from our phone, the app does not support the use of the pin and we are not able to use the pin like we could with protection. So, if I lose my phone and I don't have it coded and locked, which I don't because of the times I used it, then somebody potentially could arm or disarm the system. That is one drawback that needs to be fixed, but the back doorbell detected the visitors, so it's working. Other than that, we've been pleased with the Vivint equipment and they were always there to take care of us.

I have been satisfied with Vivint. Its features are neat and the customer service is good. Sometimes, when my daughters will walk out of the door, they forget to shut the power down. And sometimes it takes a while for me to move around the house because of disability. And then they get ringed too many times and then it goes on for too long. Then Vivint's reps will call and check. Meanwhile, for some reason, when the doorbell rings the first time, it's good. There's a huge ring, like Lurch in the Addams Family ring. But in the second ring, it would just go down very low. Other than that, everything is virtually fine.

We had been with ADT for a long time but I like the idea of owning my equipment and being able to take it with me so I tried Vivint. The installation team were very friendly and professional. They explained everything. We have a panic code which I think has been great but the door camera has been the biggest change feature-wise. And when we've had a couple issues, most of it equipment related, they took care of right away. The service has been great. They've been really attentive and proactive when the alarm goes off. I wouldn't go back and change now that we have had the experience with them.

System install/purchase was not smooth. Salesperson told me no cost of equipment, but a shared install fee in return for me being a good representative of Vivint. As the sale progress, I discovered I would have to pay, so the good Vivint Rep part too was nulled by me. After two weeks to install the entire system (I had to move outlets), the system is still not fully working. First, the Smartmonkey/Smart Drive is not accessible to me at all. Was told photos and files could be used on that 3 TB drive that costs me so much. Next, Camera playbacks are slipshod in that a counterclockwise spiraling arrow circulates in the middle of the screen on and on, sometimes stopping when I can view, and then starting again to swirl and swirl. If viewing what cameras record is so impeded, the system is useless. The 30 day trial period is moving along and at this point, I am inclined to cancel and have all equipment removed as fast as possible.

I done explaining, been doing this daily now since Saturday last week, doorbell camera is offline. The reason I have a camera is for an unruly neighbor. Twice now cops called and no proof. Still waiting for Vivint to call and schedule an appointment.
Updated on 07/07/2018: I really don't know where to start! Guy knocked on my door and sold me a couple door sensors and a doorbell camera. I thought this will save me some time with looking around for a security company and the price was very reasonable. I have a neighbor that I would love to catch on camera, 'cause every time the cops are called they want proof. The cops were here twice on the 4th of July and guess what. Camera not working. It quit working the morning when I was getting ready to fly out of town. That was June 23.
I called for help and I only got put on hold over and over while being transferred from one person to another... Daily I have been calling, texting, messaging, etc. Wonderful vacation on the phone getting transferred and put on hold constantly and daily. All I want is someone to come to the house and reboot my equipment... I can open doors remotely if that is a concern, but my daughter and her husband were home while I was gone.
This experience and lack of customer service and support has by far been the worst experience I have ever had with any company. I got back from vacation on Sat. (Tomorrow will be a week since I have been home.) I tried tech support. They had me pushing buttons and getting more aggravated. Hour and a half later I gave up. Customer service told me they would schedule a time to come over. After a couple of days of hearing nothing from anyone, Monday or Tuesday probably I reached out yet again because no one called to set up the appointment. Thursday I was done and ready to opt out of the "peace of mind" they don't provide. They offered me $10 off every month for the camera and 2 service payments of $39.99. An appointment was set for Thursday night to fix the camera. No show no call again.
So here it is day 13 and I have been on and off the phone, texting, calling and still waiting for something. Only to be told by everyone that there is a rush on my problem...such a rush they schedule me for July 30th between 8-4. I work and thats 3 weeks away. Today I consulted a lawyer. I do have a case for small claims, and since everyone in my family works in law I feel pretty confident. I'm not going to let this company keep doing this to people...after reading the Consumer Affairs posts about Vivint, I'm sorry I ever done business with them. Sounds like this is happening to a lot of people so, If you're looking for a Security company to give you peace of mind, Vivint is not it. I will be uninstalling the equipment and since I have a business license I will also submit a bill for the work. I strongly suggest other people out there with the same problem to reach out to a lawyer, and stop future payments.

The all time worst customer service. I was on the phone with customer service for 70 minutes. They kept transferring me. Every time they transferred me it was another 10 to 15 minute hold. Really bad messages while waiting and then they don’t bother to answer your question.

Which I thought was kind of weird they would keep a broken sensor for the system. Other than that good company.

I am very disappointed with this security system. It’s almost always offline and has a crappy camera. Even more disappointed with the service! I wasn’t even interested in a security system when they just showed up at my door, cowering the new neighbourhood. (May/June 2016) I was told that I could get out of this at any point in time! The salesman was Kaleb and his helper was Collin. Invited themselves in and couldn’t say enough about this system. I felt so pressured, everything just happened so fast. I was very hesitant when they started drilling holes in my walls and setting everything up! Left a mess as well.
Kaleb kept saying "just sign here, everything I’m saying to you, is what this contract says... you can get out at anytime, no problem.” I should have read closer but felt so rushed!! Every time I call and would like to speak with a manager... I never get through. I’ve phoned numerous times, very frustrated and angry. I was told that there would be cameras all over my house (front door, side door and back door). I only have one camera at the front door. DON’T EVER GET VIVINT! Biggest mistake of my life and a huge waste of money. I tell everyone how dissatisfied I am.

The security package I got from Vivint has pretty much all of the features they offered right from the beginning. Their sales rep set everything up and it was easy to understand everything that was needed to learn from him. Their installation team was great too. And when I had issues with the panel, their customer service team was able to correct everything for me. The only issue that I have with the system is that it always shows that one of my windows is open but it's closed and locked so I'm wondering why that would be happening. But everything else is great. Vivint is very easy to navigate and their service is good so far.

Whenever I call corporate to get things fixed, they were really professional and do whatever it takes to get the system running like reboot the panel, router or the system, disconnect or reinstall the camera or, cycle the power on the sky control or pull the battery. And when they get it running, they’re always like, “Well, you have a great day.” And then a week later, the same screwed up again. So, the corporate was not a match for that. They didn’t understand reliability and I’ve been telling them that if we get it running, it doesn’t mean it’s fixed.
I almost cancelled with them. The technician said the problem was that corporate kept pushing through updates and I kept telling them not to do that. And then, Natalie, a technician, came and I could tell that she wanted to get the system working. She contacted the team lead and then the manager came over. Once I met those three individuals, I knew that they were doing everything they could to get things working. But the manager took his hat off and said, “I’m pulling my hair out of this system. I’ve never seen anything like this. I don’t know what’s wrong.”
But the biggest problem is that their system's expensive and my wife has been like, “You’ve got to be kidding me.” from the very beginning. I’m waiting for a new panel to come and I’m hoping it would be installed this week and that it would solve our problems because if it doesn’t, then they’re gonna do my house non-serviceable, which means there’s nothing I could do to get the system running in this house. But right now, I'm dissatisfied with Vivint and I lost all credibility with my wife.

Their salesman lied to me and said that I would have 3 cameras. After he left they never showed up again until after 9:00 at night. The installation left my door bell with a broken cover and wires just hanging there. I was a little disappointed. The 3rd camera never showed up and when I called to ask about it they said that they would charge me even more than what I was originally told. Anyway, their cameras are terrible quality and don't record until after people leave. When it does manage to record something the footage is unusable and can't be seen. They're more dishonest than cell phone companies. When I see them roaming around the neighborhood I always make sure to get the word out there that they're thieves and warn my neighbors. They may have gotten away with robbing me for 5 years but they sure as heck won't be making anymore sales if I can help it.

Customer service is great. Price isn't to bad and the Technician (Izzy) was very knowledgeable. The only issue was I had to pay for contacts on my windows even though I already had some. I was told they couldn't be used. That was a little upsetting and wasn't expecting to pay more than what I had already been quoted.

Not a big deal for me, but unsure if Vivint and insurance will provide coverage in case of break in if not posted. Also, was referred by a friend in December. The equipment installed is adequate but the "smart" thermostats have less programming available than the 10 year old ones they replaced. Not pleased with this. The installer, Earl, was hard working and appeared to do a good job. All seems to be working. Time will tell if this service is worth the expense and truly meets our expectations.

The product appears to be sound; however, the customer service and response from the company is ZERO. I have contacted them twice regarding an appointment to install a new monitor and a second panel, which by the way I paid for upfront. It has been 2 weeks from the first call and haven't heard from scheduling yet to set the appointment. At this point, I need to look for another alarm company that will be responsive to their customers.

The installation of our Vivint security system was good. We have the standard package with them. But they should’ve done a lot more follow-ups to see if we were doing okay. Other than that, their service has been excellent.

I got a regular package from Vivint which includes a back camera and a doorbell, as well as sound break inside the window. The tech I spoke with was good. She explained everything to me. And while the installation was fair, the system works 40% of what they say, like the camera doesn't catch everything. It goes off a lot and it takes a while before it loads up for me to see stuff. I'm not satisfied. So I'm just gonna pay for my equipment and then cancel the service.

I had a friend that had a Vivint and they told me about it. I got doorbell cameras with my service package, and it has been wonderful so far. My panel keeps disconnecting from the Wi-Fi. It is almost impossible to connect it back up! It cannot find my WIFI or it just does not work. I have to deal with it on a daily basis! I don't like that!

I had a different company before and Vivint knocked on my door, and their selling point was being able to control their system from the phone. The system is good so far. I was having a lot of trouble for a long time and it kept telling me I had all these errors, but when they came in at the beginning of the year and upgraded all my equipment, it made a huge difference.

Vivint installed cameras and smoke alarms in the house. The quality of the equipment is okay but, their smart features are not as good as I thought it would be. I'm supposed to access it when I'm out of the country but I can't get in a lot of times. Nine times out of ten, it doesn't work and I can't see what's going on in the house. In fact, the other day, I didn't get pictures of somebody who came to my doorbell. Their reps came and they hardwired it and said that it wouldn’t happen anymore. But yesterday, on my phone, I only have June 5th and nothing after that. It is a lot of money to spend when a $400 system is better. I know people have cheaper systems that run fast and work beautifully. And, the other people that I’ve recommended it to have the same problem. So, I’m not happy and I wouldn’t recommend them.

We have had the system for a year and have FOUR MORE to go. How we ever agreed to a 5-yr contract I'll never know. The sales person kept saying we weren't being charged for this, they were giving us that, but we sure are paying! That was bad enough, but now the system keeps losing connection with the network, cameras go offline, then back and the doorbell camera almost never works! The wait for support on the phone and by chat are exceedingly long. They get the problem fixed only to have it return a few days or a couple of months later. VERY TIRED of calling all the time.

The temperature was 104f and he never complain. Was good about how to work the system and a friendly guy and clean cleaned up after himself. The only complaint I have is that coming does not offer the doorbell camera to business customers. That should be available on business also. Other than that I am a happy customer and wish you guys had a bundle deal because I have Vivint home and at my business. That should be considered soon as possible.

My technician Cody was absolutely fantastic! He showed up on time and was very professional. He politely did my installation while I was fussing with Comcast (their tech was supposed to show up but never came). The installation guy comes in and made a mess in my house and never cleaned it. Equipment is slow and unstable when wifi is disconnected. Doorbell camera is useless because all I can see is a blurry picture. Customer service is terrible as they don’t know what the are talking about, they will never look at your contract and answer you with their guesses. Very disappointed with their service and will never recommend anyone to get vivint.

Salesman came to house at 10 pm - 6/9. It sounded good but I was not 100%. He said I have 3 days to cancel. I got up the next morning, read reviews and decided to cancel. I emailed the cancellation that morning 6/10. I did it again, just to make sure they received the next morning, 6/11. I also mailed my cancellation next day so they would get it, 6/11. I called two days later to make sure they received 6/13. They did. 6/19 called them to check on credit. Was told I would have it 3-5 days. I received the equipment credit but no credit from Vivint.
Called again 6/26, was told it was I would see it in 5 days. Emailed 6/29 to check, no answer. Called 7/2, was told it was "pending" and he could not do anything else to help me. Not sure how it got cancelled on the Credit card end but Vivint did not cancel on their end. All I have to say it is bad business and I am SO thankful I did not use them. I will continue to TRY and get my $64.04 back. Seems like they may need it just as much as I do since it's been almost a month and they want to hold on to it.

Joined company about June 5th. It’s about July 2nd and my service is still not properly installed. I was told my alarm was installed (taken over on June or around June 12th. Here’s my story, short version. Tech came out w/ helper. 1st visit. Removes old alarm, both panels. Leaves my home with no system from Thursday night through Monday. He was to return with all the missing equipment.
I want to list but I’m not sure what is put online and this is my home security alarm system so I need to refrain from itemized list. Before he left my driveway I called out to him because my keys didn’t work in the newly installed deadbolt. I didn’t mind it not matching the bottom lock for a few days but the keys should work. They ended up having to change the entire lock again.
2nd trip out, he fixed whatever he broke in my closet... I guess. I saw absolutely nothing installed however. He didn’t put a new panel in because it’s the exact same panel on my wall and same deadbolt. He never did a takeover because the technician that came out to troubleshoot my camera not recording found out it wasn’t done. My disability makes writing this complaint difficult, I have a mental disability, so I’m doing the best I can with the order of events. My son was home so he’s helping (college)
My entire house isn’t being properly monitored!!! On June 5, 2018 I paid for my home to have a take over completed and it still has yet to be completed and here it is July 2, 2018! I was lied to by technician Trey of Vivint, he told me my home was secured, the take over was COMPLETE! I explained to him that I am disabled, that I need him to talk slowly and explain things to me slowly. He came to my home and he lied to me! I clearly ask him if my home was covered! I asked about my motion detectors, glass breakers, etc. etc!
Trey told me to my face several different times they were in the system and being monitored! I am old fashioned, I don’t believe in WiFi, I believe dual coverage, but not solely in WiFi. I was lied to. Who lies about covering a person's home? I’ve spoken to loyalty department and a young lady was helping me. Ms. Delaly something. But then she stopped. Now she’s no longer helping. She put a credit on my acct for $100. But that was before I found out about my house wasn’t covered. That was when I was only fighting for my 2nd panel.
I now have bad dreams about this company. It’s a nightmare. I’m still fighting for my 2nd panel. They have me scheduled for two weeks out. It's ridiculous. I have a new technician that came out. I don’t trust anyone however. This company customer service waiting time is terrible. 15-25! I had one person that was slightly rude but otherwise everyone was upbeat.

Vivint came to our neighborhood and introduced themselves. Vivint is mentioned quite a bit on the computer, so it was cool, and their rep was a really nice gentleman who explained everything very thoroughly. I've had Vivint for about 6 weeks now and I haven’t had any bad experiences so far other than the fact that I forget to take the alarm off when I try to open the door and then it yells at me. Before, there was no way I could raise or lower the volume and when I’d open the door, “Backdoor! Backdoor!” echoes through the whole house. Now I can lower the volume and that way it’s very quiet. So, everything is fine. Talking about Vivint would be a lengthy conversation but it is a good experience.

When there was a celebration here in town, Vivint had a booth set up. Since I was dissatisfied with the security service I had then with a different company, I ended up going with Vivint. They customized my service package very much and I got all the features except the doorbell. The customer service is good. The reps have tried to keep me updated every so often, which I appreciate, and they've treated me very well. The installation team has done very well too. I have a flat roof for my home and I have no attic for them to run in the wires. They had to do everything wireless and they did very well with it, so I'm pleased. I just have to put a battery in once in a while and when I get a low battery, they call me and I appreciate that too. When I call Vivint, I don’t expect them to come right then, but they do very well and they come here within 24 hours.
I have a fair-sized home and it's well taken care of now. I've got three cameras and two control panels, plus the other features. One thing that I really like about the system is that when I'm away from home, I am able to control it off of the app on my phone. I've recommended Vivint to several people. My cousin lives out in the country and when I asked Vivint if they could do their service there, they said they surely could. They did so and my cousin was very pleased.

My neighbor recommended Vivint and I chose to go with that company because of a discount. I added cameras and a doorbell as it would be a little safer for me since I'm here by myself. The doorbell was installed, but it didn’t work for a month. They didn’t charge me during that time, but it was slow going. When the second doorbell came, I was charged for the service call, which I didn’t know about. Also, I had to plan to be here whenever they can be here and I didn’t appreciate that. Nevertheless, the system is working now and the second technician who came out was very polite and professional and he did what he could to see if I could get a discount.

The tech had to come to my house three different times. Still hasn’t installed all the equipment that I was supposed to get. I've had Vivint for over a year now and it's been pretty good. I like having the doorbell camera, backyard camera, and living room camera. The one problem is the doorbell camera doesn't seem to pick up every person that comes to your front door. It will detect a car driving past your home but I work from home with office in front of house near front door and I had two different people come to my front door and doorbell camera did not detect. I am pleased, however, that I have not had to contact Vivint to send out a Tech since December (knock on wood). Before that, I was calling every other month.

I got the security system in August 2017. For the last six months the system hasn't worked and the app hasn’t worked. I’ve been calling them twice a week for the past six months. No one has been able to resolve any of my issues. I changed all the batteries. That didn’t help. Every time I call they reboot the system and it still doesn’t work. When I asked if someone can come out and fix it they said there’s a fee that I own the equipment and it’s my problem. And each time I call they say they have to go through everything they can on a call before they can have someone come out. The problem with that is they say it on every call for the last six months.
Then they were going to mail me a piece of equipment that was no good and I told him I don’t live at that address, to mail it to my mailing address and they refused. Because I don’t live there the item was stolen. I bought the system for the reason that I am never at that address and I have no security at all. I also live in Arizona where it’s 115° so when my feminist that doesn’t work everything gets food in the house. They just don’t care. And their customer service people have no idea how to work any part of the equipment.

I got Vivint's alarm system and smoke detector. The installation team was polite and neat. And they explained the process and what would happen if I did this or that. I'm older and I found the system useful. They're very quick to respond to me if I make a mistake, such as when I don't punch my code in on time or something is not working correctly. The reps are very articulate, helpful and they try to cooperate with me as much as possible. I just wish they are cheaper and I'm going to call next week to see if I can negotiate a lower rate. But I'm satisfied with the service. Even my sister now has it.

We purchased a home and we moved in, and two days after, somebody from Vivint showed up at our door. Our neighbor had talked to us and told us not to leave stuff outside ‘cause things end up missing, so we got scared with the whole new neighborhood and went with Vivint. At first the system was great and it gave us peace of mind, but recently, we’ve been having issues. The doorbell camera has gone offline again and this is the third time. The instructions are helpful, but I shouldn’t need to be resetting it every other month or every other week. And as far as the app, we’ve had issues where by the time the app loads, the alarms are already going off.
Also, the panel where it was placed, I didn’t want it there. The person that installed it said, “This is a perfect spot for it.” But it’s also too far from my room to where I can’t hear. I had purchased cameras not through Vivint and I had somebody install them, and the installers were professional, took their time and did a good job. However, I asked them to remove the panel and they told me that I needed to submit another request for that.

Formerly a customer of ADT, I was skeptical about joining, but once the system was explained and I seen better equipment for the same price I was already paying, it was well worth the wait. Very thoroughly detailed services, prices and quality. Technician was friendly, and knowledgeable and took time to explain how the system works in full. Seems to have some potential. I like the no contract deal and the parts are affordable. My only issue is that 1.) They're still using 2.4ghz frequency for their wifi and 2.) it constantly drops wifi connection. Every couple of days the control panel loses wifi connection. This is the same with my brother who owns the same system. He can't access his cameras because of this. I really hope the upgrade the control panel soon. I'm feeling ripped off because this thing can't stay connected. At this point, I would opt for the Ring's home security system.

It was time to upgrade our old system so we got one from Vivint. The installers went over the system and had to come back the next day ‘cause there was a piece that wasn’t operating correctly. They replaced it and so far, we haven't had any problems with their service. It's been a good experience with Vivint.

The Vivint features are great if they work. The cameras go offline and every time a serviceman comes up, they get it working and then two days later, they go down. I guess we’re gonna have to hardwire it. But the worst part about Vivint is the 15 to 20 minutes hold period when you call in. But when you get a rep, they’re good mostly. I found one yesterday who was about as helpful as hemorrhoid. I said, “You need to either get it working properly or take it out.” And he said, “Well if you wanna go to disconnect services, I can send you over to them.” And I thought, “Wow, that’s a lot of help.”
So I asked for a manager and when I got the manager back on, I could hear him but he couldn’t hear me and eventually, he hanged up. I had to call back in and wait for another 15 to 20 minutes period. But then I got someone who did care, helped me through it and set up another technician coming out. And the tech who came out was great. Vivint needs to hire some more people to answer phones because there’s no other company in the world that expects someone to wait 15 to 20 minutes on the phone before you get to someone. That’s just lunacies.

Chris, our salesman, was very persistent. He came by several times to try to get us enrolled. So after the 3rd time, I caved in. I got talked into getting a doorbell camera, which we later decided that we don't need. I tried to contact Chris but just get voicemail. Finally, I talked to him and told him we don't need the doorbell. Haven't heard a thing back for several days. Not happy and we're stuck in a contract. Don't waste your time.

We love everything about our smart home system. It's perfect for us and the app is what sealed the deal. We no longer have to have multiple keys cut for friends and family. We can set them up with a code of their own or just unlock the door remotely. Super easy to use and works wonderfully.

It is now obvious to us that Vivint is only interested in signing up new customers and starting receiving payments through a visa card. Once they have you hooked, they are not interested in servicing your system or getting it working properly. Our outside camera has not worked properly from day 1 (does not show people, but lots of false recordings with nothing on them). I have cancelled the contract by FAX and registered mail. They are now ignoring me totally.

Not sure. So far so good. I can't be sure until we've had our system a little while longer. I love that it's WiFi enabled. This is the first security system we have had, I wanted a really good one and Vivint came with great reviews.

Both the salesman and installer were excellent! Well-trained, patient, humble, not in a hurry to move on to the next house/job. I've posted about my experience on my neighborhood Facebook page. Some have complained about faulty equipment in the past. I hope that's not the case for us.

My indoor camera has been showing blurry images at night since installation on 6/15/18. Vivint technicians have come to fix and replace the camera but the problem persists. Troubleshooting had been done several times as well. I used to have Spectrum indoor camera before and the images were always clear at night. I've never called them for any issue. See attached images.

For a long time, we've been with APX, now Vivint, and have been very satisfied with the service. We have the basic package, with sensors on all the windows, and we have the system connected to the Wi-Fi in the house. It provides alerts for storm, current weather as well as time. And then if a homeowner has a digital thermostat, it links in with that too. It has three buttons; one for panic, one for emergency and one for fire. We can disable certain ones if we want to and also enable or disable audio for going out the door. It has a remote app feature as well that we could download so we can control it from our phones. They also upgraded my panel for free not too long ago; got the main digital touch panel.
Our experience with their people has been good as well, both with sales and for technical advice. Periodically, Vivint's people come to the neighborhood saying, "Hey, how's everything going?" And then anytime we've added an alert, an alarm or we have a technical question, the reps have been real good about responding to whatever we need. Then if there is an alert for whatever reason, they're good about calling to check. And they're always good about checking the security password, which is important.

We used to have Guardian. Then, someone from Vivint came knocking on the door. Things went well with their representative, so we signed up immediately. We just got on a few more things then they left several of the other things from Guardian in place and we used them. However, we had some problems before long and it was due to the Guardian equipment. We would call in to Vivint and they said they'd be here in a couple of weeks. Then the guys would come and get it going. But the next day, we would have problems again. We'd call and it's gonna be three weeks again before they come.
So I got in touch with Vivint and tried to go with a little higher than their service person. The fella I talked with was from Fort Smith. I told him that I've been in the communications business for 38 years and it's unheard of telling a customer it's gonna be three weeks before someone comes out. I also told him that the problem was in the Guardian equipment. He apologized and sent a guy out who took care of everything. He got rid of the Guardian equipment and put all Vivint stuff in. We didn't have any problems since. They were nice about it, too, and so was I. I wasn't cursing at them. Everybody treated me well and they did everything. I had good luck with them.
But I still have problems occasionally. I had an issue with the sensor on the window a couple of times and I had to replace their batteries. I also had one carbon monoxide sensor go out and they talked me through that. It seemed to be in the unit that I've replaced batteries in, so they sent out a new unit at no cost. All in all, while Guardian was a bit cheaper, the difference in price wasn't much considering the extra step we got from what we used to have. So far, we use the Vivint equipment three times a day if we're going out and we've been pleased with it. We have it for 5 years now.

I found my experience with Vivint to be very easy and fast. I have absolutely no complaints. The installation was fast and instructions are easy to follow. I love how extremely easy it is to use. The product is very user friendly. The financing made it possible to have such a great product in my home. I feel a lot more comfortable knowing I can still monitor my home even when I’m not there. I would definitely recommend this product to friends and family.

I have been a customer of Vivint since 2007 what they were APEX. I asked for an upgrade about a month ago and had to threaten bad recommendations to get one. You would think that an 11-year customer could get a simple upgrade without so much fighting. Well, I should have left it alone and went with another company. The only time they could install it was Father's Day between 10 am and noon. So much for visiting our son. It took them 5 hours to get the thing installed and working. Well...it lasted the night anyway. The next morning the problems started and haven't ended yet. We've had them out twice this week and they will be out again tomorrow.
I'm told the problem is that I have AT&T for internet service and that AT&T doesn't play well with Vivint and "closed ports" so the video stream and uploading don't work right. So their solution, a Linksys. Well... that worked for about 12 hours and hasn't since. Each tech that comes out tells us we need to get different internet service! Wait...What, that's not the problem, the problem is the Linksys isn't connecting to the panel, so look at that. But they don't... or haven't yet. We've spent 20 plus hours with techs and customer support and still it's not working right. So as an 11-year customer, DO NOT GO WITH VIVINT. I hate to say that but they are nothing but trouble...at least they are now.

I’m upset because the installer didn’t leave any yard signs or decals and didn’t hang the glass break sensor which I had to do myself. For a customer signing up for service from a competitor I should have received better service.

Installed yesterday. Excellent demonstration and I haven’t caused myself any problem yet. Very impressed with the system. Both cameras produce sharp images. Appreciate that the doorbell volume is adjustable. The NEST thermostat is keeping the home comfortable day and night. Real test must wait until winter. I have armed the system at the panel and disarmed it by the iPhone while distance away. Couldn’t be easier.

The rep that sold us Vivint and the installer were both very respectful and helpful. The rep Garret was not pushy at all. My husband is a salesman and it is not easy to sell and not be pushy or cheesy. Garret was great! He was knowledgeable, answered all of our questions, and was respectful. Wesley, the installer, would not leave until he was sure we understood everything we needed to. He was patient every time we interrupted him during installation. He listened and answered all of our questions. He was very easy to work with and respectful.

Acquiring Vivint system was pleasant experience. The service person, Christopher, is very knowledgeable and nice and installation crew was very good too. 4/5 stars because call center communication/transmission was poor and they didn’t ask password as should. But the subsequent call was more clear and asked for the password. Response time was fast too! Overall, very good experience. Hope they will continue to provide good service.

I was a little scared to have a security system, but it was the best thing I ever did. Eric ** was our tech that came out and installed everything. He was very knowledgeable about everything and very polite. I would recommend this to anyone. After having our house broke into, I feel very safe being at home by myself.

ADT and one other company came by and gave me quotes. They told me not to get Vivint and when everybody started badmouthing Vivint, they must really be a competition for badmouthing them. I got into Vivint and I've had them for about three years now. The guy that did the installation was good. He had trouble getting the doorbell camera hooked up to work but a rep that works with ADT in the same area came and then they got it figured out. For the most part, the features are good but I'm having problems with the cameras on occasion, and I have to keep rebooting it. Other than that, the system has been good. I wish I’ve gotten some more cameras. But when I looked at Vivint's price, it’s a lot higher than anybody else. I'm right in 70 bucks a month for it so it's gonna be higher.

I selected the features that were beneficial to me based upon my lifestyle and my travel. I have all the sensors, doors and windows, and motion detector in the house. I have the doorbell ring camera and two other cameras on the outside perimeter of the house. Now I also have the thermostat feature with their thermostat VL.
But it took multiple calls to get the products installed and working properly. There were multiple issues with the thermostat feature having to replace the Nest Thermostat. Then I had to get another thermostat after spending my money and time to get this functioning. Some of the features are still having periodic service issues. The other day, the thermostat disconnected from the panel. We had to reboot the whole thing and get it back to working in the middle of the day when it was 95 degrees here in Texas. I had to be without AC for about 20 minutes while they rebooted the panel. I'm now stuck in a contract with them. But I wouldn't sign up for them again or recommend them to anyone else.
The representatives were professional enough but at the end of the day, I need the product to work. If I can't find a solution to fix the problem and I have to have multiple calls to get multiple repair people out, professionalism is not enough. What they lacked was the technical know-how to properly install everything and to get things working the first time.

The system is user-friendly and easy to use. The design is also sleek and nice. If the doorbell was battery operated, it would allow for more installation locations and not so many wires. The installer was nice and friendly. I also appreciate the bonus gift, that is the Google Mini.

Most of our experience with Vivint has been good, and our service package includes a door pad, lock and unlock, thermostat, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, motion detector, and a camera. Vivint's representatives had been fine. The installation team kind of overlooked something in the very first night, so they had to come back out and fix that. But when they had been here, they had been very polite and very thorough.
We're presently having trouble with one of the smoke detectors and we went through trying to get it to connect to the panel and it did for 24 hours and then it's offline and I haven't psyched myself up to call them again and say I'm still having trouble with it. We went through fixing it with them over the phone for 45 minutes and it included climbing up and checking it and changing the batteries and then going back up. And for five times, my husband had to climb up on the ladder to get to it and we're not doing that again. They tried to get most of the work done by phone and that is kind of hard to do at our age. We need somebody to come out and fix it.

Vivint is in our one business and we liked them so much that we put them in our home. We opened up another business and we’ve put Vivint in it as well. So, we have it in three locations. The features are good. I just wish that they could put more cameras in one panel. The techs said that they’re coming out with where you can put 12 cameras on one panel, but you can only put six cameras on one panel and if you want more than six cameras, you have to have two panels, which I wish that they could just put 12 cameras on one panel. Other than that, I’ve had two different reps and those are the only two reps that I want and I like them. They know what they’re doing, they treat me well and they go out of their way. I'm very happy with them. Overall, Vivint is worth it and I'd tell my friends to get them.

Vivint advertises that you can get service in as little as 1 to 2 days depending on your area but what they refrain from telling you is it can take 3 months. We signed up and paid for our sign up just for them to message us to tell us it'll be 3 weeks. We wait 3 weeks and the day the technician was finally supposed to come he's a no-show. 20 minutes after he supposed to be here we get a call no voicemail nothing. So we call Vivint and ask them what the deal. They said it was a family emergency and now we have to wait an additional 8 weeks before the technician can come out and hook our service up. All in all it would have been a total of 3 months after we have paid and still had no service.
If that's the way they are was hooking your service up how do they treat customers that have technical difficulty. Do they have to wait 3 months for them to come service it? Really saddens me that I was excited about all the perks in this and that the technician say they can do what. Yeah that would be nice if they'd actually come hook up your service. By the way when you're scheduling for them to come don't expect to speak with anybody. It's all over text and it's pretty rude quite frankly.

Control panel continues to alert me on different issues, I keep removing batteries and reinserting them without any progress, seems like Vivint would send a repair person. Never received copy of the contract documentation I signed. Salesperson said I would receive a $20.00 a month discount after 5-years, but I did not receive proof yet. Not happy.

Installation tech was an absolute NIGHTMARE!!! During his time at my house he tracked in debris from outside, let one of my cats outside after I had closed them off from him. He opened that door any constantly kept letting them out so I had to keep rounding them up to keep him from letting them outside. Damaged my screen door and didn't say anything until I pointed it out. Then his response was "I'll just file a damage report", not oh let me see, or I'm sorry. Then I later discovered he had scratched a car parked in my driveway with the equipment in his tool belt.
He asked to borrow a charger cord for his phone. I lent it to him and then witnessed him roll it up and put it in his pocket when he was done with it. I had to ask him for it back. He did not properly set up my system either. He did not program an entry/exit delay and a week later I discovered he did not enable one of my window sensors. But here's the capper, I contacted Vivint and reported the incident and filed a claim for damage to the door and vehicle. I was told that a manager was contact me within 24 hrs to speak with me about my installation woes, that was over a week ago! I would DEFINITELY NOT recommend this product due to poor customer service alone.

I am really please with the new service. We did have a couple of issues with the cameras, but the people at the service desk were able to walk us through resetting/correcting the problem. This did happen a couple of times. After that, everything is going fine with the new system. We were able to see an intruder come on our porch and sleep there for 4 hours. This door camera is really want we need. We are very pleased with the service.

From starts to finish, all technicians involved were very thorough and answered all questions. The technicians also really took the test me to build a great repairs and walk us through all steps involved in activating all of our equipment and cameras to ensure our safety and security as well. They left us with personal cell numbers to contact them with any questions that we have at any time. My 18 year old even commented that he now feels safe and secure.

My Vivint Smart Home is not providing me the security that I need and is promised. The system fail to record door bell and movement activity. The first couple of days after installation, I was able to view movement and/or door bell ringing clips. Afterwards, recordings stopped. Technician was called and solved the problem. That fix lasted 2 days and recordings and viewing stopped for the second time. I do not feel secure and am paying for something that is not working. Another issue: Sales person Travis ** (door-to-door) salesperson, promised free package if I posted the Vivint Sign on my front lawn. I am now charged a monthly fee. Where is my free package that was promised?

The sales agent was informative and accurate. However, the installation was lacking. The representative left trash in my closet, on the desk where the system was located, and there were wires on the floor. When asked to sync up the other programs to my home (Nest) he said that “we don’t do that” which is totally different from what the sales agent said. I did not receive the stickers to place on my windows nor the google minis. I am happy with the system overall just the experience was lacking.

I got this Vivint about a year ago without making a thorough research and I have regrets till today, please if you're thinking of getting into this please rethink and read the reviews and do a lot of research. I have to keep calling them once or twice every few weeks to get my camera set up, my garbage can was stolen from outside my house and Of course the cameras are offline as usual so I couldn't see who stole it, they have to send me a refund of $299.99 after I purchased a camera and made a payment on a wrong card and decided to cancel the payments and use a different card. Vivint still Haven't refund me my money since April, in total I made a payment of 599.99, any time I call they try to tell me stories it's very frustrating, I still Haven't gotten my money back... Meanwhile the camera is also not working. I want to report this company to my local TV station. I'm just a single mom trying to protect my home, but I felt like I'm dealing with scammers.

I was using another company that left large holes and wires running down my walls. Vivint stopped by and sold me on their system. Couldn't be happier that I switched companies. My daughter had the Vivint system and recommended it to us. Their rep was very helpful and their response time was very good. So you have to consider Vivint as you would consider some of the other companies that are out there. Vivint gives more bang for your buck.

A young man doing a neighborhood survey came to our house and he was amazing. I got Vivint and then the installation guy came. He was alone, stayed here about two hours, did what he needed to do, and he was gone. Recently, another young man came and was supposed to upgrade the system but he didn't have any of the abilities of the first installer. So they ended up sending out a second person. It was a young woman and she went through it. She said that it was easy and everything was in place. Then she even took out some of the old stuff for me because Vivint wasn't the first system we had. Vivint is better than our previous system and fairly easy to use. All in all, Vivint has been good and they follow through.

Sales Representative did not provide all information concerning contract obligations and now it appears that I am stuck with paying for a product that I was not provided all the details. And now I am given the runaround by the Loyalty Team at Vivint. No nobody from Vivint will return my calls to assist me with this matter.

Vivint worked our neighborhood hard but they were professional and have a good product. We changed from another service since our contract had expired and the Smart Home system offered more for the money. By buying the equipment up front there is no contract and the system works well from a smartphone. Brandon ** was the agent who did a good job explaining the program as did the installer.

Our wall was damaged during installation, the technician Steve who installed the system tried to repair the best he could, advised Nick **. He said he would take care of it. He never did nor did he bring us a sign for front yard. We had repeated problems with garage security camera it took waiting on hold 45+ minutes 3 times before finally getting through to customer service. The lady at customer service was awesome and tried to help us fix the issue but she ended up calling technician. I am not happy that salesperson who promised a sign and to have someone come by and properly repair our wall just blew us off and told us to call customer service.

The installation was same day and the technician was very knowledgeable and friendly. I switched from ADT and am very happy with Vivint. The technology is very straightforward and easy to use. I recommend this service. Fantastic easy to use products.

The customer service has been ok so far. The guys that came to install my equipment were great. However, my doorbell camera alerts me every time the wind blows my tree outside. There is no way to adjust the sensor and it's supposed to learn somehow... it hasn't. It's very annoying.

It seems odd that with all that I purchased no Vivint rep that was out to the house or that I spoke to over the phone never mentioned lighting to me. It seems that I have to ask all the questions exactly or the information is not provided. In addition, I have had the service 3 weeks but have had 2 customer service call. One in which they had to had a new router. Why wasn't that found out during the initial installation?

My initial contact was very informative and pricing was fair in regards to the equipment I wanted installed. The installation went smooth and installed everything I requested. Highly recommend this company! The app something does not always load but the keypad entry has solved that problem.

We’ve been with Vivint for about five years and it is a good alarm company. We got the cameras and an alarm, and we had a good experience. But I recommended them to someone about a month ago and Vivint never called back so they went with ADT. So that might not be so good. But the representatives we've dealt with have all been good and helpful. They answer whatever we need and we've liked Vivint's service so far.

On March 7, 2018, we were sold a Vivint Home Security and a U-verse package; The Vivint employee sold us a combined package for $150.00. The offer would remain in place for the next five years. We asked our Vivint/AT&T Representative (not sure which at this point) a number of times what the catch was, we were assured that there was not one, it was promotional between the companies etc… It soon became apparent that was not the case, AT&T knew nothing about it and although we had been signed up for Uverse, the bill was high and we had to negotiate ourselves a new deal which will only last one year not five, at a cost of which was promised for the combined Security/Uverse package.
We immediately called Vivint to get answers; we called March 19, 2018 5:27 PM. We were on the phone for 20 minutes, we called again on April 10th at 4:50 PM for 11 Minutes, and again on April 14th at 5:12 PM for 22 minutes. I called on April 16th 2018 at 5:59 PM. I was on the phone for an hour; I explained the situation asking that Vivint come collect their equipment, as we no longer want anything to do with it. At which point I was told, “To go up and down the street and sell it to someone else!” I spoke to four different people, lastly speaking with a “Supervisor” who said she would get a hold of our Representative, resolve the issue and send us an Email. We have yet to receive an Email, we have sent out multiple letters, still no one has contacted us with any intent to resolve the issue, only to extract payment. The equipment itself is not working correctly, the doorbell camera is out, all we want is the equipment collected and our money refunded.
