After installation and brief instructions, it would be helpful to have the installer call or visit in 2 days to follow up on any issues or concerns that have arisen to the customer. Also 12 volt battery was left in my basement with no explanation.

I ordered the alarm, doorbell, lock and smoke alarm. Installation took around 1.5 hours. Technician was friendly and knowledgeable. System seems to be easy to use. I liked that I had the option to only purchase services I need. App was easy to download as was the Google home app.

I was told installation would take approximately 40 minutes and it took 3 days. I was given very little instruction on how to operate the system. The cameras are too sensitive and constantly alert my phone. I was also told that I can exchange the brass colored door locks for stainless. I'm not sure who to contact to make that happen.

They sold me equipment that did not work. Took them 3 months to come back and try to fix it. They could not get it to work so they took the equipment. 6 months later I only received half of my money back. Also the customer service that Vivint is horrible. They transfer you around until you hang up so they don’t have to deal with your problems. My car was vandalized and could not get the recording so I guess I bought the security system for nothing. They don’t even monitor it. This has been the worst experience I have ever had with a company.

I am very pleased and impressed with the system and its capabilities. My 5 and 6 year old were apparently listening to all the instructions I was being given on the systems use. Later I caught them telling Google to play music for them then a little bit later I told them it's bedtime as soon as I finished with the dishes. Then I heard base trading them a bedtime story. It was hilarious. I loved your staff. All were very professional, polite and awesome. They are definitely greater than 10's. Thank you, all.

Thermostat. It's always going. Never shuts off hardly. Had an appointment this Saturday. No one show up. Told them I wanted it taken off and put mines back on. I hate it and I want it off. And I stayed at home??? Passed up my family time to be here and no one call or left message that they couldn’t make it.

We got the window sensors, the inside sensor, the smoke detector and the camera based on the recommendation by the installer. I thought it was a good idea especially for the area that we live in. I’m a truck driver so I’m not at home everyday and I wanted to make sure my family is secure. The sales representative also perfectly explained to me everything regarding all the questions that I had regarding the cameras.
I love the Sky panel where you put the code. It’s nice and cool. We've been with Vivint for four months and the service has been perfect. It's good and I like it. I even recommended it to my friends. I showed them how clear the cameras are and how easy it is to get access from my phone to activate the AC and control my temperature, to look at the cameras outside and see who's there and who's not there. They were very impressed, especially with the price. They have a different company and they said I'm paying less than they are.

We’ve been with Peak Alarm System for years, but once I checked out Vivint, their system was a few dollars more for a lot of advantages. The gentleman from their sales team was very helpful. Also, the installers were awesome. They set up our home security system and then showed us how to work it. The features in the package we have are great. It's been nice and helpful to have the information accessible by phone and be able to lock or open the door and double check it through phone. And so far, the service we've got has been excellent. We've had a couple of issues and Vivint solved them. The response time with information has been great as well. People should check out Vivint and give them a try. They're a great company.

I would like to relate my Vivint experience to you. I recently moved to a new city and one of my first priorities for my new home was a state of the art security system. On 5 June 2018 I met with a Vivint salesman named Jonah at my home. He was exceptional. He did a great job explaining both the product and options. He definitely applied no pressure when I asked to think about it and he agreed to return. On Wednesday 6 June 2018, after some independent research which indicated Vivint was the only company to offer the level of technology I desired, I signed a smart home contract for equipment and monitoring and was excited to be a Vivint customer.
Later that afternoon, a young lady named Deanna came to install my equipment and my excitement grew. She was extremely professional and courteous and did an excellent installation. She took time to explain the products to include the phone app and left with me feeling very confident in my choice and with my new system. I even called several friends and family members to relate my experience and recommend your company. I was asked by E-Mail to fill out a survey on both of these employees and rated them highly!!!
On Thursday night at 12:42 am I got a notification on my smart phone that my front door had opened and closed and triggered an alarm. At 12:44 I was contacted by a Vivint employee indicating that I had an active alarm and that she had tried to make contact with me over the Vivint Sky Control Panel. I explained that I live by myself and that I was away from home in another city. The young lady indicated she would dispatch the police and I asked her to please keep me informed.
At 1:01 am I received a notification on my phone that someone had rung my Vivint doorbell. I assumed it was the police and I sat waiting for further communication. It never came. No one from Vivint ever contacted me. I sat 150 miles away and had no idea the nature of the alarm or the status of my home. At approximately 2:15, I called the Vivint Customer Service number, talked to a young man who explained I would need to talk to Monitoring and put me on hold to transfer me. After several minutes waiting, I was disconnected.
At that point, I took matters into my own hands and contacted a friend to go check on my house. Apparently the alarm was a false one and my friend indicated all was good. I also contacted the local Police and they indicated that officers had been dispatched, responded at approximately 1:00 am and found every thing apparently OK. I asked them if they had relayed that information to Vivint Security and they indicated they had had no contact with anyone at Vivint since the initial request for dispatch and that no one at Vivint had done any follow up to find out if the alarm was real or false.
At that point I was quite frustrated, but knowing my home was secure, I decided it could wait until morning. At 8:45 am I called Vivint Customer Service. After explaining my concerns, I was told I would again have to talk to Monitoring, was placed on hold, and after just a few seconds I was cut off. I waited a couple of minutes to see if anyone would call me back and then I called again. I talked to someone totally new in Customer Service, explained my problem all over again, was put on hold for Monitoring and again was disconnected.
At this point I was beyond frustrated. I again waited a few minutes to see if anyone would call back. They did not, and I know they had the number as they had both used it to verify my identity before putting me on hold. I left to go with family to our planned activities and to discuss with my children what they thought I should do next. I also received another E-Mail from Vivint asking for surveys both in response to the alarm and with my most recent customer service experience, and you can imagine my ratings were anything but positive.
About 3:25 pm on Friday 8 June, 2018 as I was driving home, I called Vivint Customer Service and explained that I had decided to exercise my 72 hour option and cancel my contract. I had decided I could not trust the security of my home or myself to a company that did not seem to be interested in my safety. I was transferred, this time successfully and had to begin the explanation process again. This young man was fairly pleasant and told me I would have to send an E-Mail to a specific address expressing my desire to cancel and to include my service number both of which he would provide me verbally. I explained that I was driving and talking hands free and asked him if he could text the service number and the E-mail address to me as I couldn’t write anything down. He said certainly and verified my phone number. I told him thank you and hung up. Of course, the text never came.
Once I got home, I again called Customer Service, again explained the entire situation and also my desire to opt out. This young man did indicate he was sorry and offered me three months free monitoring if I would like to stay a Vivint customer. With my first monitoring experience being less than stellar, I turned down his offer. I finally got him to give me both my service number and the e-mail address required to complete the cancellation process. He explained at that time that someone would contact me to schedule an appointment to remove the equipment. At 5:12 on 8 June 2018, I sent the required E-Mail to complete the cancellation process.
For thirteen days since sending the cancellation E-Mail, I have not had any contact or received any correspondence from anyone at Vivint. On Friday 22 June, 2018, I received a letter via E-mail from Todd stating that "we (Vivint) have made numerous attempts to contact you at the telephone number you provided to arrange for the removal of the alarm system. Because you have not responded to any of our attempts to contact you, we are notifying you of our intention to hold you responsible for the cost of the equipment listed on your contract, $1,974.42. This amount was also listed in the cancellation notice sent to you."
You can imagine my surprise. First, no one has tried to contact me and my phone log shows I have received no calls from any number identified as a Vivint number and T-Mobile has agreed to provide a complete record of all calls to my number since the date I requested cancellation if need be. In addition, no cancellation notice has ever been sent to me and as I stated previously, I have received no contact or communication of any kind from anyone from Vivint since I requested cancellation of my contract on 8 June 2018. I responded to Todd’s E-mail and expressed that I found the content of his letter and his tone to be unacceptable, unprofessional and untrue, but that it was unfortunately in keeping with what I have recently learned to expect from the Vivint company.
That in itself is a shame since I had such a positive initial experience with sales and installation and felt that the Vivint equipment was a perfect match to my needs. Unfortunately, In the entire time I contacted Vivint regarding my monitoring issues on 7 and 8 June, my cancellation request on June 8th, and of course the correspondence I received today, and despite multiple negative reviews, no representative from Vivint has reached out to say anything. Every bit of contact has been initiated by me except for today’s letter which was absolutely insulting. Almost everyone else I have talked to from Vivint Customer Service has been curt and disinterested and hasn’t followed through with anything they said.
Can’t begin to describe how disappointed I am at the actions and in most cases the lack thereof from a company who publicly expresses their desire for an "exceptional customer experience." This kind of treatment certainly doesn’t comply with Mr. ** advice to a young college dropout that said, “...if you’re going to run a company, you have to provide the best service you possibly can for your customers.”

The sales rep and the technician were extremely helpful and informative. They were both very professional and a pleasure to interact with. They were honest and competent answering every question we had. We have and will continue to let our friends know about the service we received and the quality of the system. The rep, Dalton, followed up the following morning to answer any questions we had and the technician, Ananda, made sure everything was functioning properly before he left. He also showed us all the features of the system and was very friendly.

Our salesman, Jonny, got in the door promising “free” products for us to be a demo/test home. All we had to do was leave a good review. He was informed MULTIPLE times that I did NOT want to replace any of the security equipment (door/window sensors, etc...) that I already had. He was informed what type of system we had and said it was 100% compatible.
Later that night when the tech arrived to install our panel, we discovered that Johnny had added on door and window sensors that were NO part of what we agreed to or what he had written down. He didn’t even get an accurate count of what would need to be “replaced”. The techs started to install the panel and drill holes, confident it would work, but without even knowing if the system was compatible. They had to ask their supervisor, but decided to drill holes anyways. In the end, it wasn’t compatible, and I canceled service right then and there.
The next day, Johnny must have gotten word because he starts to harass me via text message, and I had to call customer support to get them to get him to stop.A week later, same tech shows up to remove the panel. He left a mess on my floor and did the WORST job patching the holes because he came unprepared. His drywall sparkle had dried up. When I confronted him he said confirmed he came unprepared and said I’d have to figure the rest out.

We were told by Rob before any papers were signed that our current (chimes) doorbell would work with the doorbell camera. When the camera was installed the installer told us that the chimes would not work thus we now have a decorative wall hanging. While explaining the wall panel to us the installer could not answer questions about the iphone app stating he knew nothing about the app. We still don't know how to use the app and would like to receive training on how to properly use it. Not sure the camera is working properly - one time it will record someone approaching the porch but the majority of the time it will not. If I had it to do again I would not buy this free (HA HA) system.

I was on hold for over 30mins and transferred to people who couldn’t help me. Horrible service and I tried online support but no one ever came to the chat!! When they installed they came 3 times because they were not prepared. Horrible service.

The install and first few months were problem free. Then we began having issues with the back door camera not working or showing. We telephoned customer service and were able to get it back online but, it's always short lived, it's currently down. Next issues is the panel connection. We have to constantly reconnect at least once every other week or sooner. Last and most recent issue. While the tech was at our home a couple of weeks ago, they set the alarm off by accident. My neighbor telephoned me approximately 20 minutes after she'd left to inform me the police had come to my front door and walked around the house.
We were home and the doorbell never rang. Vivint called five minutes later and informed us the police had come out. Really? No one thought to call us before that time? She was shocked to learn it was their tech that set off the alarm. What if it'd been an emergency? We're really considering discontinuing our service with them. Thankfully, we purchased our equipment from BestBuy and we don't have a contract. We're quite dissatisfied with the service thus far. I want to keep the service but some changes need to occur.

My wife's parents have Vivint and we went with this security system provider too. I like the features that are offered with our service, but I wish I had gotten a thermostat when I first joined and I plan on still buying one soon. The reps have all been really good and the installation of the system went well. The only issue we've had was that occasionally our camera has been shutting off for a few hours. Despite that, however, I'm satisfied with our service.

Tried switching to Vivint. Found out once they got my 105 bucks for a deposit that they never refunded they could care less about the customer. Alarm installer no call no show twice... there are better options for the public than this joke of a company.

The service from these rats is non-existence. Our door lock does not work correctly. We had it for 24 hours and they will replace it but I have to pay the shipping. Excuse me, this piece of crap never worked from the second it was installed. I have only had this security system for three days and I am regretting it already. The motion detector sees our 5 pound poodle and sends an alarm every time we leave. They say they will replace it but that's 5 weeks down the road. Plus they want me to install the new one, plus they want me to install the new door lock too. This company is unbelievable, I think we will be canceling our service. Oh, one more thing, as I have written this note, our door bell alarm had gone off at least 15 times, Saying we have a visitor. I am truly disgusted with Vivint. Gee I wonder who will be fixing the holes in the doors and walls when we cancel?

I knew about Vivint through our neighborhood association's chat line. I've been doing a lot of online research as well. The sales representative who I worked with was very helpful. Then what was nice when Vivint's team came out to install everything was that I won't be in a contract if I paid everything upfront. It was just a monthly fee which I was really extremely happy with. So far, the service and the features of the system have been good. It's easy to operate. My camera goes in and out but it has to do with the internet out in our area and not with Vivint. Other than that, if I have any questions, they're extremely helpful. I am a fan and I would recommend them.

The service is more than I need & not as convenient as my old one was so I have chosen to cancel my service with Vivint, as well as double the cost. Initially the installation was to be used to mesh with other services I was to receive.

The system never worked. Not even the 1st day. The tech said he be back to finish the install and he never showed. The cameras never work from day one. I went on the Vivint app and set up a appointment and that tech never came or called. Wasted my day. I call in to cancel the service and all y'all talk about $$$. You guys really let me down with y'all service. Seth ** is a piece of crap also. I hope to see him out and about. He lied to me and wife about the system. He was training someone also. Hope she don't turn out crooked. The panel always said need batteries, panel loose and something else from day one. Nobody could help fix this cheap stuff.

I had the smart home system installed and so far it is great???? My daughter has it in her home in Philadelphia and that is why I got it. As of now we are satisfied with this system, it’s easy to use. We can keep an eye on our home when we are away.

The technician was busy talking on his phone as he was installing the equipment. His personal business should of been done after the installment. He was discussing his other job that he has and was not staying focused on his job at hand. As of right now the front door is not working correctly. There are time the system will announce that the door is not locked. This is worrisome. I have called and asked for this to be looked in to and have not been called back.

After we signed a contract, we were out on our own. Customer service is non-existent! The product is inferior with a wifi security system that has wires with each device, the camera was never 'fit' to show who was at the front door, 'it needed a wedge', the kitchen panel for additional view at the front door could not be installed, just plugged in and sitting on a box. I understand the tech did not want to drill into the granite, but I am sure we are not the only customers like that, but there was no back up plan. It took almost 2 months to have the equipment removed and when I had the former security come over to reinstall their service, he could not because he could 't determine what the tech did/or what they removed by Vivint. I set up an appointment to have Vivint tech at my house the same time so one could show the other what to do - VIVINT NEVER SHOWED UP, NOR DID THEY CALL TO SAY THEY WOULD NOT BE THERE.
What a totally unprofessional company. I am sure the owner of Vivint would not accept this type of service and equipment. It is inferior. AND now it is going to cost us several hundreds of dollars to get our security company back up and running. The techs, after installation, left all the boxes and trash in my foyer and kitchen. REALLY?!! I have never experienced a company who doesn't clean up after themselves. (See pix) The only pix I did not take were of the units plugged into the walls. Vivint should be ashamed to put signs up that they are a security system.

Customer service was amazing and the guy who came out to do the activation was great, very knowledgeable. My only problem is the cost of monthly service. The Ring service I had before this was the same however the annual fee was less than my monthly fee with Vivint, I will test the service for this first month however I still have my Ring devices in case I need to switch back. As far as recommending to a friend that would be a hard no at the moment.

Still waiting on our certificate showing we have an alarm system, need it for our homeowner insurance. Have not received a new contract from the company. Showing us only getting one nest instead of two. Not pleased with the service from the company. I feel we should have received a better offer (less cost) on the alarm system due to we have the solar panels and the solar fans. I totally feel that the company is taking advantage of us.

I've had them out a number of times to figure out why my cameras stop working. This included my doorbell. The original installer did a pretty good job. Then it was downhill. My cameras and my doorbell would stop working at different times for no reason. I have a ring doorbell, patio and shed mounted cameras. The shed camera and the doorbell always have problems. I had an appointment between 10 and 12. Guy never showed up. Called company and canceled. At 1:30 that afternoon he show support! No one told him the appointment was canceled.
I set up another appointment. New tech comes out and plugs in three signal boosters throughout my house, and replaces doorbell. Spends an hour rebooting system. Doorbell works but not shed. He goes out and says the original tech should never have put the camera on the shed. He says he can moved the camera to my house but I would need another camera for $195 for the same area coverage! He leaves and both shed and doorbell are not working AGAIN! A few hours later the shed camera works but still no doorbell. The phone app does not work to reset cameras. I do it from the panel and everything works. Then a few hours later it's off again. I don't even arm it anymore because now the door sensors and garage sensor don't work all the time. I am going to cancel my service.

The Vivint service was a little slow sometimes. When people pull up to the door, it takes a little bit for it to say that there is somebody out there, but it’s fine. My service package includes sensors in the house, a doorbell camera, the thermostat, and window break feature ‘cause I’m here alone. Also, the installer was courteous and he explained everything to us.

I like the fact that our security system could be installed the same day. Also, appreciated that there was no contract and a moderately low monthly payment. The features Vivint offers like the doorbell camera, deadbolt lock and controlling the thermostat are great!

A.J. who sold us the system was great and Kate the installer also. We did have to have them come back after initial install due to our thermostat quit working after the security panel was installed but it was replaced and all was well.

When I moved to Raleigh, I was getting my cable set up and part of the cable package was Vivint. I was trying to get to a price point so I got a keyless entry, sensors on doors and windows, and motion sensors. So far, I'm mildly satisfied. I've had to get my keypad fixed twice. I've had to have service out once and yesterday they had to reset it and they did that remotely this time. They advertised automatic door locks but when you start putting the package together, you'd quickly find out that all of that doesn't go with the package, it's extra. So, I was a bit disappointed in that.
Also, I did not have a good experience with the sales rep. He got my name, my address and the features wrong. So, when the people were calling me for service that we had set up, they couldn't find me. The lady that did the installation was really nice but she had been working since 8 o'clock in the morning and it was 9 o’clock at night. I asked her all kind of questions, some of the things she knew and some of the things she didn't. The second installer who came out was very knowledgeable and he was able to smooth things over. I was more pleased at that point.

My mailbox is situated next to our front door where the doorbell camera is installed, Some days, the letter carrier is captured, most days that person is not captured, I am not able to see my daughter coming from school every day unless she rings the bell, the camera is supposed to capture as soon as it detects a moving object or visitor within the customized radius and believe me, we set up the radius to the maximum width and nothing, we use our mail carrier proximity to our door every day as a way to tell how well the doorbell camera works. The iOS app doesn't alert you when the camera is disconnected, keeping the Vivint doorbell camera connected and working has been a nightmare, I would call Vivint technical support and they would have me reset the doorbell camera over and over, it works fine for a few days and the issue returns.
The main reason why we installed a security system with a doorbell camera is because we believed it was reliable and will make our home secure not matter where we are, they also offered to replace or repair any malfunctioning device but they did not say it was for an additional cost. The camera is supposed to capture images of people coming on to the property, but our camera does not consistently capture anyone that comes near my front door, one night we left something in our mailbox to be picked up by a family member, we waited for the doorbell camera to alert us and record that it was in fact picked up and by who was picked up, well we only found out who picked up the package because we called not because out camera alerted us there was someone picking up a package from my front door!
At this point we do not feel secure with the Vivint security system, we do not think it is reliable and we want to get out of the contract. I am thinking on hiring a lawyer and maybe filling for a Class Action Law Suit will bring Vivint to be accountable for false and misleading advertising and scamming its customers, also for not complying or failing to explain all the inclusions and exclusions in their contract. I opened my door for them, I trusted them, I installed their solar panels and their security system. We feel used and taken advantage of. I have never suit anyone and I am not looking to get easy money, after all the similar reviews I think something should be done.

I have a home and office system with Vivint and it's been a nightmare from the beginning. The home system install was unreal. It took over 6 months to get resolved. The home equipment has never worked properly, our office system has been replaced twice with the continued same issues. They want to charge each time I have them out to repair the very same problem we have experienced out the gate. I would love to cancel but in a contract. I would NEVER recommend dealing with this company.

I had window breaks, door bell, a driveway camera and two indoor cameras from Vivint. We were using it as monitoring on our young children in the event the baby decided to leave the bed at night. So far, I have already canceled it, it was horrible. When I first got the system it worked well for about eight or nine months. They got a software update through their panels and since then, about November of last year, I started to have major problems with the panels never staying online. A doorbell stopped working and when they sent somebody out, they replaced the doorbell. However, we had packages stolen from our door and the doorbell wasn't recording clips. They sent another tech out to replace the panel, about a week later it started to go offline again continually and the same problems kept repeating.
They spent about three months sending out techs over and over trying to fix it and it never got fixed. Eventually they said, "Your house is unserviceable, so we're gonna allow you out of your contract and not have to charge you and we'll come pick up our equipment." The technician who was last trying to help me called me since and asked me if I'd be willing to try out their newest panel for free. It transmits and receives differently. I'd be willing to try out the panel but I'm not paying for service. The technician was very helpful and very nice. He is a local guy that's been trained from the mothership. Nevertheless, in terms of my experience with anybody at the mothership, they were always polite with me and they say exactly what I needed to hear to get me off the phone but ultimately the issue was never resolved.
It's interesting though because when you go online, it says Vivint gets 97% customer satisfaction. But it's because they send a survey out minutes after you get off a phone call with them when you feel perfect and that everything's fine, everything's working. You're happy and they're gonna resolve the issue. But they didn't ever follow up a week or a month later to find out how things are going. They literally give you the second you're at your happiest and then everything falls apart again. And every time I had a really bad phone call with somebody, the calls would just drop. I'd have to call back in and go through the entire customer service process again explaining to a new customer service rep. And then they wouldn't send me the survey, which was odd. They selectively send the survey when they knew you were happy but they don't when they knew you weren't.
When they finally decided to cancel the service, I asked for a refund from January through March when we were still having all these troubles. I didn't have a security system then so why should I pay for it. They agreed but it took 67 days to get the refund that I was promised in 15. I had to call back in four separate times to get my refund and everybody was very nice saying, "Oh, no problem. I'll put it through." And it didn't happen. So finally, I ended up having to escalate to somebody who deals specifically with the refund and I was able to get my refund under 24 hours. Working with Vivint wasn't my best experience. Their technology is good but their support is horrible. I constantly told the customer service reps over and over again that I have no problem paying for their service as long as it works. So, if someone would ask me about Vivint, I'd tell them to find somebody else.

I needed a security system and a friend of mine said she was using Vivint and she liked it. But I’m totally dissatisfied with all of my experiences with Vivint. My control panel stopped working for multiple months. Nobody contacted me to let me know that the panel wasn’t working. My panel doesn’t communicate to the keypad. And I can no longer use the keypad on the front door. I have to use the key. I’ve had two technicians come out but they haven’t been able to fix the problem. I had to have my camera replaced because it was broken. They sent me a new one. But they didn’t give us credit for the old one. So it’s just been painful.
I was told that I was gonna have a supervisor call. The supervisor never tried to call me. I don’t even use the service because it doesn’t work. The only thing that works on there is the camera that I can look and see what’s going on. But even the notifications on the phone with camera don’t work. I can lock and unlock the front keypad with my cellphone. But when you go to the keypad to type in the pass code, it doesn’t work. I would never recommend Vivint. My contract stops in September and that’s when I have the option to cancel without penalty. And I just may go ahead and do that.

We have had Vivint home security for 2 years, we had another provider for two previous years. When we were sold the equipment and service, we were told it was two years, the digital contract we just found out had 42 months. This is not our first issue with this company. Another senior family member was sold this service and equipment from a door to door salesman, and when called to cancel the next day, they would not cooperate, but they did eventually relent after persistent efforts. We have experienced the same dishonest service and do not recommend them to anyone. I encourage anyone considering Vivint for home security to run away as fast as you can.

I really enjoyed getting my new Vivint smart home system. The technician was amazing and extremely patient and very eager to teach me how things work, he did a great job explaining how the system is used and explaining how we can get certain products and how some products could not be put in our home. The only downside was that a lot of the products I wanted could not be installed in my home. The technician did a great job. Was very efficient and very polite. We are happy with our experience with Vivint. Prior to getting a security system from them, we already have one. Vivint's salesperson showed us a lot of the items that we didn't have such as the cameras and the doorbell where there's a camera on it. He knew what he was talking about and put us at ease about how to use the system and how easy it is to use. That sold me and my wife into signing up with them. The installer came and his work was very professional. It was less than two hours which was pretty quick. He also didn't make very much of a mess and any kind of mess that he made, he cleaned it up right away.
However, there are issues about the camera on my phone. I load up my other family members, my wife and my children, but sometimes the camera, which is mostly the doorbell camera, says it's offline or has no pictures and they have to wait a few hours to a day before it actually comes back on again. One of those times that the camera was not working was a while ago when a vandalism was done to my vehicle. If it was working I might have been able to give the police something to go on. Vivint's reps have tried to explain to me over the phone what to do and they even sent a little tiny screw and a screwdriver for me to try and fix it but that didn’t work. I've only had the system for about a year and I've had two cameras replaced because Vivint couldn’t fix them. There was also one time that the alarm itself was not working. But every time I phoned in, I got ahold of somebody who would walk me through it and most of the time it was very good.

I got Vivint over a year ago and I ended up buying another term because I was already in a contract with another company. I had a good interaction with the installer who came and the installation was smooth. I like the Smart Panel and the use of the app on the phone. I got the remote access through my phone, the panel, the glass break sensor, and motion detector. I didn't have any issues with Vivint and so I would recommend them.

The installer was very polite and knowledgeable about the product. I have had an ongoing problems with the cameras going offline and having to reboot the panel or totaling rebooting the router several times since we have had this system. We had this system installed so we could have 24 hr monitoring but it does absolutely no good when the cameras go offline and you are not home to reset the WiFi. This defeats the purpose of installing cameras. We have only had our system for two weeks and I have had to do this multiple times.

I have had service for about 3 weeks. I think it might be okay but have questions and can't get the salesperson to return my calls. I suggest if you plan on buying you get TOTAL clarification on how system works before you sign on dotted line because it seems that after you have committed, they are no longer interested in keeping you happy. Online chat service informed me they could not guarantee salesman would return my calls and referred me to online videos. This may be okay for some but senior citizens and maybe others may need more than a video. I'm definitely not happy with how they handle customer service.

My friend, Bryan, works as a sales guy for Vivint and I'm confident in him. I know people who have other companies, but I went straight with Vivint. We're now a warehouse so we have done motion sensors on our doors and then we have cameras with our docks and our backdoors. The first guy who came to install was really nice but he didn't know much about what he was doing. So we ended up having somebody else come out. His name is Daryl and he is amazing. We like him a lot. He did our second install and then we just moved to different location so I requested to have him and he did that install as well. He's very professional and he absolutely knows everything that he's doing. The security system has only been set-up for 2 hours. We are completely confident with it and we like it a lot. We have to have it for one of our customers. Other than that, we wouldn't feel that we need to have one. But it's nice to know that we do.
Vivint's customer service is amazing. If anything happens, they send somebody out and I don't ever get charged for them. When our cameras stopped working before, Daryl came and he reinstalled new cameras because the first guy didn't install the correct one or strong enough ones for our warehouse. By this time, I have already sent people over to Vivint to start using them.

I had an old first generation ADT system and ring doorbell was all I had. A Vivint sales rep came to my house, described the whole system and it was exactly what I was looking for. I was also very pleased with the offer and the setup and he said that I have to agree to their card plan to get the price. It was 8:00 at night then. After I agreed and signed everything, he said they were gonna come over that night and install the system because they had a crew right there. That was not what I bargained for but I went ahead and relented it.
It caused a problem with my wife because they were here almost 11:00. In order to put the camera up, they got to run a wire up my kitchen wall and drill a hole into the wall. I told them I knew where I wanted the camera and there is a security light up there. I told them to leave and I would get an electrician to install a box way up high in my house and they could come back and plug the camera into it. The sales rep didn't say he would give me space if I allow them to install the system that night. I felt that I was tricked by him and it was not the best experience.
The whole system was installed - the doorbell camera, the panel, the thermostat, the motion detector, the door things. So, I called Vivint and told them that they owe me a camera and I got my electrician to put the box in. I had the electrician talk to the business people, so that they could tell him exactly what he needed to install. They came over to put the camera in and tried to fix some of the other bugs that were there. The electric box wouldn't fit the plug for the camera which cost me some extra money. The electrician didn't mind the first time because I wanted it done that way, but that cost me money for the second time when I had the electrician come back. Then Vivint came back and installed the camera, but the system was still very erratic.
I've called customer support about six times and the real problem was finally diagnosed by one of their reps on the phone. The internet signal inside my house was not strong enough to carry the whole system and that was because the router is in our cottage that is old and got thick walls. They installed the Linksys router and extender, so now I have two black boxes on the kitchen counter and even that wasn't strong enough. So, I bought an Orbi Mesh internet extender to extend the wireless signal to my house.
I'm really not upset about the fact that I had to do it, but they had people at my house four times and nobody said that the problem was the internet strength. The problem should have been identified on the first call and they had instruments that check the signal strength where they could tell that it wasn't gonna work. Even their competitor systems wouldn't work in my house on the internet. The Vivint systems worked perfectly, the cameras are working perfectly and I'm totally satisfied with the system, but not with the customer service and the technical support.

I am unable to cool my house since the Vivint thermostat was installed. When the thermostat is set on cool, hot air comes thru the vent. Five techs have not been able to resolve the problem. Have gotten fast responses from the Smart Home Pro, but no one has been able to solve the problem.

I had set up 3 appointments just for someone to call and activate my system. The first one they set up on a Sat but they don’t do that on Saturdays. The second one I called after waiting 30 minutes past appointment time to find out I for some reason needed to be rescheduled yet again. They couldn’t tell me why. I finally got my call on the third appointment. The customer service people I spoke with were very friendly and handle the issues I had even with me being very angry at the whole problem.

I like this way this particular Security System works. It wasn't hard to learn at all. Being able to secure it from my phone is another plus. Yes, I would recommend this. I would, however, appreciate a User Manual. A User Manual instead of emails would help significantly since I am a property owner and need to teach my tenets how to use it when I am away.

We have 3 cameras, doorbell camera, smart lock front door, garage door opener, glass break sensor, motion detector and security sensors on all of our exterior doors and bedroom windows. Being able to completely control our home from our phones makes the convenience factor of this system like second nature. Never have to worry about forgetting to set the alarm, lock a door, or if we forgot to close the garage door. I have such peace of mind knowing there is monitoring.
The system is so seamlessly designed, anyone can learn how to operate it. The cameras having night vision makes me even more confident of my surroundings. The system is absolutely perfect for our needs. One of my favorite features is that the control panel chimes and says what door is opened. That helps keep track of small children in a large home. No worries about wandering. Being able to speak through the doorbell camera to visitors is also a wonderful feature. I recommend this system to all family and friends.

Vivint is a great company. I had a home security system before, but I like the features their system has. I enjoy having the doorbell camera because I can see who’s there before going to my door. Sometimes, though, I can't see all the videos for some reason. But whenever I needed their techs, they've come out and they've been great. Additionally, I've had good experiences with their reps. One of the ladies helped me get my money back when I was taking out from my old system which I had before Vivint and that was awesome.

The sales rep we worked with at Vivint was very professional, friendly and appropriate. He was not a pushy salesperson. I don't put up with a lot of the pushy salespeople that go door-to-door. First of all, it's not allowed in our neighborhood but he got through the screening. He handled himself well. The install guy was also very much accommodating to my husband and I, as the consumers. He didn't railroad his ideas as to how it should be set up. He had a lot of questions about where we wanted things placed and what we would like to do. He told us, “I can do it this way or I can do it that way." He was certainly respectful to what we would prefer.
I got a security camera and I have all the windows armed. I can also do the functions on my iPhone. I got that gold standard of having the immediate access of somebody watching our home. We had initial glitches getting the system set up but that was just because of the distance between the home panel and a couple of the other access doors. W had to put in a couple of boosters and it was really no big deal. They were very much accommodating.
When an alarm goes off or when somebody makes a mistake, the Vivint people are so quick to call. I'd apologize and say it was a false alarm, and what I like about Vivint is we don't get yelled at when we've made a mistake. Some companies do that but Vivint's Customer service has been outstanding. When I have had questions about how to change the battery or what something means, I've had zero complaints. I had plenty of complaints with ADT but I'm not seeing any of those with Vivint and we've been customers for two full years now. Overall, it's been a real positive experience. I have even gotten two more of my neighbors signed up because we have been so pleased.

I would recommend strongly that you not take away camera access if you don’t subscribe to home monitoring. The cameras are expensive and of all the people I have talked to about your system they cite this as the reason they would not buy it.

Happy with our new security and home monitoring service. The new advances made in equipment are impressive. The system is intuitive and simple to use. My only negative comment is around the price of the equipment itself. Other companies were running promotions offering free equipment on basic installations while Vivint charged full price for everything. I stuck with Vivint only because my startup IBO distributorship has a working partnership with Vivint.

Very poor installation. Didn’t clean up after themselves. Didn’t have proper equipment. Had to have them rerun sloppy wiring. Weren’t able to get Google home to work. Told me both garage doors would operate. One doesn’t. Two tech and one online support attempt and Google Home still doesn’t work. Two cameras continue to go out and need reset. Not impressed.

I really like my Vivint Home Security System. It is easy to use and I especially love my doorbell camera. In order to keep costs down, I just opted for the doorbell, motion break sensor and the glass break sensor but there are so many more wonderful features offered. You can feel confident that you are being protected. The guy that sold me mine, Casey **, was a very polite young man and he certainly knew what he was talking about. Thank you Vivint.

I may have had a new installer. The installation took almost six hours and was not done as well as it should have been. The wires for the cameras that were installed are not neatly positioned. The holes created for the wires are too big and were not filled in properly. Furthermore, the exterior camera that was installed is already having connection issues.

My house was broken into a couple of years back. My daughter set Vivint up and it has been my nightmare ever since. It sucks. It is never really online and always rebooting. Right now, it’s always something with this company as far as the technology goes. The people that answer the phone really try to be helpful, as well as the people that come in and do the work. Unfortunately, the technology that they offer really doesn’t go hand in hand with the service that I expected. I have a door camera and it is my nightmare. They've replaced the cameras and have given me booster boxes but it’s just not good. Perhaps it needs to be a better product, or maybe it shouldn’t be advertised as a door camera but as a stationary camera at your entrance, so it’s on the inside and not in the outside. Because weather might affect it. Techs have given me so many reasons why this hasn’t worked and it could be any number of reasons.

We were broken into and wanted to get a home security system. We were inside Best Buy and Vivint had a representative there who was very pleasant. One gentleman came for the installation and he was excellent. We really felt like we understood everything when he left. Everyone we dealt with at Vivint handled everything professionally. They were very courteous and they answered all the questions we had. We got a special lock on both the front and back door and we are notified anytime there's somebody at the door, whether they ring the doorbell or not. If they ring the doorbell, we have a camera that records everything at the front and the back. If we don't respond, an alarm automatically goes to the police department or fire department, depending on what's needed.
We're happy with the system. One day, right after we got the system, my husband went out and he forgot to turn the system off before he opened the back door and the alarm went off and Vivint called. Not too long after that, I did the same thing and Vivint called and wanted to be sure that they were talking to the owner and we had to give the password. They called to make sure everything was okay. Otherwise, they were ready to notify whoever needed to come. We got a direct response which really made feel us very safe with the system. It is working perfectly and it gives us so much more security in our house. If people do get in the house, we'll get them on tape. We get pictures and somebody will be notified right away.

The customer service team at Vivint has been very responsive, knowledgeable and very professional. I've had them out here too many times but they've always been very pleasant to work with. The installers understood what I wanted and they were able to provide the services that I wanted. I'm very pleased with it. The features are good. I've got an indoor camera, one outside camera in the rear, and the doorbell camera. But I wish that the outside camera on the back and the one that's in the inside had more range to cover a bigger area.

I’m now pleased with our system but it took a few calls to get everything right. The salesperson was very good at explaining how the Vivint system would work and the person that installed everything was very nice but he left with a couple of issues not resolved. He said he would try resolving the problem online later. After a few days I talked with someone via way of online chat and didn’t get anywhere with them to resolve the problem... It wasn’t until I called and talked to someone threatening to just come and take the whole system out that we finally got the problem fixed. I think there should be some kind of follow up after the system is installed to make sure everything is working properly and the customer is satisfied with everything... I’m happy with everything now. Was just disappointed with having to waste my time getting to the bottom of this problem that should have been resolved before the tech left or at least by the next day.

When the install was started, my salesman left taking the Notice of Cancellation sheets with him. The next day requested one and he gave it to me. Told him I had second thoughts about the security system. He said to wait. Later I sent him a text saying I had signed the Cancellation Notice. I sent three texts and two phone called and he has NOT responded. Please Advise. Install was on 6/11.

I was told that the camera had night vision but I realize when it gets dark you lose camera images and you can't see anything (just complete darkness) but other than that everything is well. I'm happy with the service alerts and the whole set up very convenient.

Installer left a mess of the house and did NO clean up. Left drywall debris and wire clippings on floor and left trash on ground in alley. No respect for our home. Had to schedule three times to pick up equipment. The second time driver said he had car troubles and flat out said he was not coming and I had to call a supervisor to finally get something done.

Somebody from Vivint came to our door and it was horrible. It felt like we were being pressured and the rep lied to us when we ultimately signed the contract. He left parts of it blank and then came back the next day and tried to get us to sign it after he filled in inaccurate information. And then, he wouldn’t leave. We refused to sign the new contract which was not what he promised initially and he told us he would lose his $500 commission but we really didn’t care. He appeared to be a nice guy and we are now much more skeptical. But we had signed the contract and we were stuck.
Then, we moved to a different house and ended up with a different person from Vivint who was actually farther up on the food chain. We ended up with him installing it in our new house and he was excellent. We kinda changed our tune about Vivint because of him. Also, they’re responsive. Recently, I thought I turned off the alarm and then opened the sliding door and they responded immediately. I didn’t really wanna test it but it’s nice, every once in a while, to have a false alarm.

Helen heard about Vivint from a co-worker and she got door and window sensors and a keypad for the home security system. But the alarm just goes off once or twice a month in one bedroom. It says "shattered glass in bedroom one" but there's no shattered glass. But other than that, the service is okay.

Travis ** was the sales associate and he was great. He explained what company was with and why he was here. He was punctual for our follow up appointment later that evening, and he was very informative about the services offered. Jake and Amber ** were our installation technicians. They were fantastic! Very professional and courteous and friendly. They answered all of our questions and finished as quickly as possible. The *only* downside from the whole experience was waiting an hour for a technician to be available after our sales associate left. The technicians arrived around 8:15pm. Since that is somewhat late in the evening, we might have preferred to schedule the installation for the next day.

The products are good, the installation was to fast and my outside camera was left almost dangling from the wall, the chat customer service was not friendly and basically just said, "Cancel we'll get your money anyways." But we did get a repairman out to attach the camera to the wall and he was awesome, he went over everything checked to make sure all the other equipment was installed right. Make sure to read the cancellation thru a few times cause like the customer service chat told me the only way out is to pay lots of money, maybe I just got the wrong support person but she should be more professional even if she's having a bad day!

I answered my door to a solicitor yesterday and told him that we do not accept solicitors. I was very firm and annoyed, but he kept talking. I decided to invite him in because I did not want to stand at my door for an hour. He was very pleasant and friendly... and manipulative. He made it seem like if I gave a bit of info I could try out a security system for free if I was "picked". He said that my neighbor a few houses down had been picked and had decided to stay with Vivint because she loved it so much. However, when I spoke to her about it, she said that she had purchased it from Best Buy and that the same gentleman had come by her home and bothered her about if she knew anyone who could benefit from the system. She may have sent him my way, knowing that my husband was deployed and I have two toddlers.
We also have a lot of crime in the area, so I was all about trying out the system for the 3 day trial. He spoke to me for about an hour to an hour and a half. I had crying children who were hungry and I needed to shower. He had come to my home at around 5pm. Near the end of his manipulative sales pitch, he explained that I had to choose who a loan was taken out with to cover the cost of the equipment. A "soft" credit score was taken and I signed some documents.
At this point I was so tired and ready for him to leave that I probably would have signed anything. I was exhausted and going on very little sleep. I ended up signing a ridiculously long contract. I was told, however, that if we PCS'd that our contract could be cancelled. So I had it in my head that we would just easily cancel once we move to another duty station. He didn't inform me that we had to actually move onto a military base in order to cancel the contract. I feel like I have been lied to and it makes me feel like a fool that I went along with this whole thing.
I also thought installation would happen at least a week or two later (since I was getting "picked" for a free trial). It turns out that the tech was on his way over at 8:15. The salesmen didn't leave my home until 7:30 (remember that he arrived at 5:00ish). The tech was at my house until 11:30, drilling holes and talking loudly (I was told he would "be quiet as to not disturb my sleeping toddlers"). The noise woke up my 3 year old at around 10:00pm. My 4 year old was very excited about what was going on and was just acting out of character. I'm sure it was odd to have a stranger in our home for so many hours. The tech did not leave until 11:30, and still had not completed the install. He scheduled to come back the day after my 3 day period was up. So I said, "Does that mean that the trial starts that day?" He said yes. When I tried to reach him today about the issue, I got no response.
I also asked the sales guy what exactly I need to do in order to cancel and he was not forthcoming about that. He said I send in the cancellation form. I wasn't given any more info than that. I mailed the form today and I also sent a screenshot via email. The website doesn't state if they accept screenshots, so that's why I also mailed the little form.
Imagine an exhausted, sleep deprived military mom with toddlers dealing with a process that lasted six and a half hours. It also upset my husband which makes me angry. He is overseas defending our country and not only is Father's Day coming up, but his birthday. I feel bad that I got us into this mess. The reason for the two stars is that the actual Vivint security system is pretty neat. You can lock and unlock your door from your cellphone and you are supposed to be able to speak to whoever is at the door through the control panel (mine isn't working though, as I mentioned). The front door camera records everything going on outdoors, and the motion sensors let me know if one of the children is getting up in the middle of the night (updates are sent through the app).

All in all, our experience with Vivint has been good. However, we've had a hella bit of time adjusting to when we would set it and not realize that we had to unlock the backdoor before we could open it and the alarm would go off. So, that was kinda crazy. But we like the cameras. We also like getting notified when somebody comes to our door or when there's a presence available but it seemed like when we have it set like that, it's way too sensitive, like if something blowing past the doorbell or if it's raining, it will make it go off. We are constantly getting alerts on our phone and that’s not really convenient so, we've had to turn that off. So, some of the things that we really liked about we have found that we haven't really been able to utilize since it was just a little bit more than what we expected. But their customer service has always been very good and we would recommend them. We did recommend Vivint to my daughter and they ended up getting them as well.

My experience with Vivint has been positive. The salesman I had was fairly new but he was honest about that and if he had questions, he would reach out to his supervisor or other peers on his team to answer the questions. He was very helpful. The installation team was very knowledgeable and they seemed experienced. I had a great time with them. Features like the window break sensor and the cameras came with our package for the home alarm security system. It's been almost a year that we've had Vivint and we're satisfied with the service.

This has been a fantastic company to work with from the salesman all the way through technical support! The salesman covered everything necessary during the sale and even checked up on us a few days later to make sure we were happy and answer any questions we had. I had this system installed the day before a vacation. They were in and out in 2 hours. The system is exactly what I wanted and the price was great. Would definitely recommend this system to anyone looking for a surveillance/monitoring system.

I was interested in having a security system for my house with features that include the doorbell, cameras and the thermostat. The Vivint sales representative who came out was very nice, informative and helpful. The installer who came was nice too and we walked around together and decided where to put the cameras. However, I would have put the camera in a different spot if I would have known that it only recorded for 10 feet, but it's fine. During the day, it works perfect but at night, I need to hang a light so I could get my whole driveway. Other than that, everything was very smooth and I've liked Vivint so far. I could check things out on my phone and I could see who's at my door. I can work my thermostat from my phone as well. So, I'm happy with Vivinit.

The sales representative of Vivint is really nice and very patient. While their installation team are also very professional and very friendly. Plus I really love the Vivint phone app that I can be at work and have the access of being able to see what’s going on with my house. I tell everybody who I know my experience, like about the equipment and basically everything about Vivint. I even show my phone app so they can see how clear it is and that they can see through the camera. They really like the feature of the doorbell that I can answer whoever is incoming.

I WISHED THERE WAS AN OPTION FOR NO STARS BUT I HAD TO DO "1" JUST TO POST OUR REVIEW. My Father passed away in June, 2015 and my Mother decided to help out and stay with my Grandmother to take care of her but the house was out in the country so we wanted extra security. She was told in front of myself and other family not by one but 3 different "customer service" people that should my Grandmother pass away, or get moved to a health facility which would cause my Mother to move OR if my Dad's family sold her home which again would cause my Mother to move THAT she (my Mother) would be able to cancel the contract and would NOT have to pay cancellation charges BUT they ALL lied.
My Grandmother had to go into a rehab for 8 months so we moved my Mother in with us. The home was empty and the security was not being used. Still they wouldn't let us cancel. Then my Grandmother passed away 8 months later, still they wouldn't let her cancel THEN the home did get sold and still they wouldn't cancel the contract. SO she continued to pay for 3 whole years for security on a house that she neither lived in AND was being lived in by complete strangers that weren't even using the system.
We recently called VIVINT to finally cancel after 3 YEARS and was then told WE COULD NOT YET CANCEL. Said that she signed a 42 month contract which our copy shows 36 months - I called myself to just cancel and pay out the contract and was switched to 4 different people before they finally TOOK my money and SAID that the contract was now cancelled. We'll see - I don't trust them at all for what they've put my poor Mother through. They are a HORRIBLE company and you should just get a GUN and forgo the security system altogether. BETTER YET use the gun should any of these GOATS come to your door!

While the sales person was very nice it took 2 hours to close the deal and then at 10:30 at night he said the installer was coming over to install which take about 2 hours to setup!! If we didn’t set up that night we would be charged 600 for installation. Are you kidding? Install should be done the next day if the sales closes after 9pm.

Sales people - qualified and skilled yet only focused on making deals, not securing long term customers. Installation team - inexperience is evident on the installation side without much regard for quality. Technical skill with operation of equipment is satisfactory. Installation Team - Rushed to complete installation as fast as possible compromising quality and safety. Sales & Installation team - misinformed customer on capabilities of thermostats and the app. You cannot control more than 1 thermostat with your app.

They came by for a follow-up from the previous day. He already had two people there to install it so we didn't have to wait for an appointment for installation. They did it right then and there took about 30 min for two cameras, sensors, and the doorbell. Very quick and friendly.

Searched for months for a new provider to upgrade my 17 year old system, wanted the latest in technology, such as connectivity to my thermostats, indoor & outdoor cameras, smoke, carbon, the ability to use a phone app, Alexa, and the opportunity to expand to include additional automation later. Went through a number of providers (Honeywell, ADT), couldn't find one that could handle everything i was looking for, until i discovered Vivint. I love my system, it's easy to use, has significant functionality, and the customer service staff is extraordinary!

The equipment from Vivint is good and the sales rep knew all about it. The installation was even better since they acted fast and were clean. But I couldn’t keep any of my cameras online and so the techs have come out and fixed them a couple of times. They’re down now and I hate to keep bothering them. But other than that, the service is good.

We already had a home security system and then there were people coming around our neighborhood going to different people's houses. The person who came to our house was familiar with the system we currently had at that time and he demonstrated for us how it did not work. So, I wanted to switch to a different and better one. I spoke with the Vivint sales representative named Alex and he was good and followed up with us. The installation team did fine and they were really helpful and very courteous. They took their shoes off or wore the little things over their shoes in my house. They were very thorough in explaining how to use everything so that I didn't have any questions when they left.
The service package came with a Nest Thermostat and we had a lot of problems with it. One morning in the winter, we ended up having no heat. It was down to 50 degrees in our house and we had to have someone come out immediately. My husband called the regular heating and air conditioning guy and he said that the unit we had was not working properly. He took it off and gave us a regular thermostat. That was not a very good experience I had with Vivint because they did not wanna refund me for the Nest. I wasn't even looking for any other compensation, which I feel I shouldn't have had to pay that pack for a brand-new thermostat in my house when the one that I had through them was not working. They finally refunded for the Nest, but that was not a good communication with them. I ended up having to get a manager, who was really good once I spoke to him. But the people I was initially talking to through customer service were terrible.
When the manager came out, it was the response I was expecting. "Of course, we'll refund you. Sorry that it happened." Whereas, the other people weren't trained properly on how to deal with customers. Their customer service people need to be a bit more thoroughly trained in how to handle customers when they have a complaint like that. Nonetheless, we love Vivint and I tell everyone about it. I tell them that I really like the cameras, like doorbell camera, and I like how I can look at that from my phone or my iPad when I'm not at home and even talk through the doorbell camera. That's what I like the most about it. And I like that it's so easy to use. I can just use the app that would turn the alarm on.

The person who stop by my house promised to me a complete door lock top and bottom. Days after he came back to sell me something else. After I refused to buy his new item he told me about the gift that he gave me. I contacted Vivint and Olivia from customer loyalty told me, "Don’t worry I’ll send someone to install the complete door lock" and when the person arrive he told me, "We have only the top not the bottom." So now I have a mix match front door lock. Do I recommend them with family and friends? NO.

Your agent said it's for trial for 10 days. But before ten we message your agent that we don't like it. And even email you... Till now no response...

Main system and monitors working flawlessly. Doorbell camera has been a welcome addition and works as advertised. Had some glitches with the outdoor cameras and the doorbell camera at first but the problem turned out to be my internet provider's router. I changed the home router and now I can stream the video flawlessly. Installation was efficient and professional. They cleaned up after the installation and went through the ins and outs of the system. The phone app is very useful. I have not used customer service yet, so it is hard to rate them, but based on the rest of my experience I am guessing that it is good also. I would highly recommend Vivint.

I am appalled at how this company conducts business. They pulled a trifecta of no nos. When I first called to find out what their monthly billing was and how they worked, I was pleased with the gentleman I was speaking with. He was very professional and when I had a question he couldn't answer, he would find out for me. He ran my business credit, asked me all the information they would need, and explained to me that it would be a 5 point hard hit on my credit that would then be taken back off after the service was installed. I was ok with that. He then gave me both my options which were that I could pay for the equipment outright or that I could choose the flex pay which would allow me to pay off the equipment over a period of 60 months.
I chose the flex pay because it was a more feasible solution for my small business. I was then told that I would have to pay the installation cost and the first month's service upfront. Again, no big deal. I was out on a run and told him that I would call back to make that payment when I returned to the office and could get my business card. I called back, made the payment, and set up an appointment for the following Monday from 10 am to noon.
Monday rolls around and Vivint never shows up. I call them and have been informed that the appointment was never scheduled. OK, I get it. Mistakes happen. I went on to explain to them that I need somebody out here promptly as I had set up my new insurance to start that Monday and I was required to have an alarm system to even have the coverage of the company I wished to use. I have to give them this, they got somebody to my store within 2 hours in attempt to right their wrong. And here is where everything goes horribly wrong. My technician was here and ready to do the install when his supervisor calls him and informs him that they have to run another credit check on me. This results in an hour long conversation including lots of holding to get this taken care of. Meanwhile, the technician is becoming frustrated with the situation and the company themselves.
Apparently, this is a regular occurrence. I just want to put in here that the technician was fantastic and hopefully he will find a better company to work for than this unethical, unprofessional bunch. They finally cleared him to do the install at which no point was I informed that they didn't like my credit after all and that they would be charging my card almost $700 without my authorization. Had they told the technician that and he brought it to me, I would have laughed and told them to shove it. When I realized that they had charged my card $700 I lost my cool. Upon calling them, I had to jump through yet another set of hoops to even cancel my service with them. I finally ended up going to my bank and disputing charges. I am still kicking myself for not thoroughly checking them out.

By the time I get a notice, you have a visitor, then open app, the person has already left. There is to much lag time from notification to response time. Also when you play back recorded clips... if I did speak with someone through the app it doesn't record what I say to the person only their responses.

I had a Vivint salesman come to the house. He knocked on the door and told me about their service. He also told me what the price was and I signed up. He was pretty good and he seemed to know everything. I got the home alarm system, fire alarm system, and two cameras. The guys who installed them were great, very knowledgeable, and cleaned up after themselves. So far, I;ve had some issues with the app and some other stuff. But I have gotten all that worked out now. I also had issues out of the camera but they always sent me a new one and got it fixed. I'd recommend Vivint and tell others to sign up.

A couple of years ago, there was a couple of Vivint salesmen who were walking in the neighborhood and then they came up to our house. Since we were wanting some kind of security system, we got a package that includes the doorbell camera with the Ping camera inside and we have the window monitor as well. We pay $60.99 a month. I like it for the most part, but the app works only part of the time. At first, I thought I was imagining it, but when I set the alarm and then got up in the morning, it was turned off. I like the feature being able to get a hold of somebody when we're gone, or they can get a hold of us. But it was frustrating because were so many times that it did not work like it was supposed to. And it was not just my phone, it was my husband's phone too. We've uninstalled it, reinstalled it, and it may or may not work whenever we need it to.
For some reason, the doorbell camera kept dinging all the time and then, it wasn't recording at night. It would just hit and miss. It might record once or twice during the day, but there was an issue and we weren't the only ones having it because they uploaded a new hardware program and it's been working ever since. So far, our issue is mainly the app. Whenever I'll alarm the system, it will just sit there and spin and spin and spin. I'll just get out of it and then go back in it and then it has done what I wanted it to do. But it never used to do that. Furthermore, it's delayed. If somebody would come up to the door, it would not give me the alert until they're already gone. So if somebody was stealing a package off my porch they'd be long gone by the time it dinged on my phone.
During installation, they were trying to find a hole for the doorbell and they missed a small hole underneath the light switch. But other than that, they knew what they were doing. They went right to it and got it done. For the most part, the system is okay and we like it to be able to communicate when we're gone, but there are some things that need to be modified or worked out. We even wanted to get out and get rid of it, but we're stuck in the contract for another year and a half unless we can find somebody to take over the payment. Other than that, the tech persons I've dealt with were good about working with me trying to get the issues resolved.
It's good that you can see what's going on when you're away and you can communicate. If you could get your phone, you can use the Ping camera to call somebody on their cell phone. The main reason you get it is to be able to monitor what's going on at your house and so as long as that stuff is working like it's supposed to, then it's doing its job.

I have not had the time to thoroughly learn and operate the system due to my need for a router extender which I ordered so that I can get my other camera on line. The app has been really slow today so receiving clips was a pain and when I tried troubleshooting it said to update my phone and the app. App was installed on phone yesterday. Customer service help that I received today was really helpful.

Haven't had long enough. Few weeks I did not all that impress. Camera pick up tree movement but miss me driving in out with truck or unloading lumber. Night vision is week at best. Long wait time for customer service. It really average.

I already had an alarm system and did not really want to change. The Vivint rep, Jordan, make a great presentation and showed us the benefits of their system. He was even able to convince my wife, the one that greets salesmen at the door and sends them on their way, and she agreed with me that we needed to change. So far the ease of checking on door locks, setting alarm from phone and all the other features have just reinforced our decision. I would highly recommend Vivint and their systems.

I was told on the day of the install I would pay $184.99 on that date I paid $750. I've called customer service 3 times and each time I'm told you'll get a refund of $533 and have yet to see any refund. Installation was from 3:00 pm to midnight and did not complete. 2nd day of installation was from 1:30 pm to 9:00 pm still not complete!! NOW they want to increase my monthly payment. This has been a JOKE!

The salesman and the tech were awesome. However I am having consistent issues with my Smart Hub not responding or being offline. I have contact customer service and I have notified them that I am keeping true and accurate records of dates, times, what happened, whom I spoke to etc. If this issue continues I will cancel and will be ready to see them to court. My safety and my family's safety comes first. I pay too much money to leave home and have to worry if my system will remain online to pick up an intruder, or a fire etc. I recommend that you keep documentation and continue to email and chat and save those records so if you have to break contract, it will be your proof that you tried to rectify the problem and have exhausted every means in doing so but it continued. Vivint would be liable for not providing the services that you/we are paying for and that they promised.
Just FYI don’t be fooled by being threatened for breaking contracts. As customers we have rights too. We have the right to receive the services that we are paying for and if Vivint does not deliver the security and 24/7 monitoring that they promised to provide to us then we are not breaching contract they are. Just FYI know your rights as a customer. Would you go purchase a car and then be told by the dealer that you can’t drive it but you still have to pay for it???

My original package had a camera for the doorbell as well as alarms for the first floor window and the door. I had a thermostat as well. I wanted those features because it had the ability for me to set my alarm from any location and I can see my home from wherever I was. I could also control my thermostat from any location. However, Vivint has failed on all levels. Also, contacting their customer service team has been a joke because they would come to my house for the same issue and spend two to three hours, getting me back online and getting the system working again. It would work for 24 to 48 hours and then I would be back offline. The camera wouldn't be working anymore.
So, we spend time having me troubleshoot over the phone with them, and then them coming to my home for two to three hours of more troubleshooting for it to go back offline 24 to 48 hours later. Finally, I had to have them come back out and just remove the camera and the doorbell because it was not working. Now, what's happening with my alarm is that when I set my alarm at night, in the morning, it's disengaged when I did not turn it off. It's jumping and disarming itself. I'd never recommend Vivint to anyone. I wish they would stop billing me and pick up their crap and leave me alone.

From the sales rep to the technician, our experience was excellent! We would recommend them to everyone! Not only were they nice, but our system was installed the same day. I do not think you could get that anywhere else.

We've had Vivint for three years. I've had some app issues and communication error at times but for the most part, it's been pretty good. The installers have all been really good as well. The only thing is that in the future, being in their three of the five-year contract, I'll probably not know if everything is long-term. It's because technology could catch up with Vivint and I'm not sure that they've had updates which are more along the lines of the cost of 60 bucks a month for monitoring and equipment. It's fine now but when you come down to it, you can add a monitor for 20 bucks and the holo cameras and those other home stuff a lot cheaper.

Using Vivint's system has been great and we've been liking it. Whenever we have any issues, they respond quickly. They usually call me and if I don't pick up, they call my wife. If my wife can't pick up because of her work, they call my mother. They're on top of things and their reps are very professional. However, sometimes the images on their cameras don't work as fast as I would like them to. Other than that however, their system is good and we're satisfied with our experience with Vivint. I'd recommend this security company to my friends.

I've had this system for just a year and it's pissing me off. I'm still having issues with the Vivint security system. It cost me money every time they get their guys over. A guy came in this last time and he checked everything over. He did whatever he had to do and everything was working. And then a few weeks later, everything is back to the way that it was running. Half the cameras aren't working, the box is saying that it's not connecting to the internet and the door sensors aren't alarming. With the Vivint representatives, the interactions were all good. They explained everything and they do what they have to do. But for equipment wise, it sucks. I've had security systems before with different companies and this is one that I don't like. There are too many issues. Vivint should try to cut the number of years down on the program especially when people are buying stuff that is not working. I won't recommend the Vivint system to anybody.

We recently installed a Vivint SmartHome system. Having a husband who actively serves in the military and is gone often, and a child who has medical needs, I worry all the time and hate being alone. I jump at every little sound and I don’t sleep well when it’s just me. With our system now, I know that if something happened, my son and I could get immediate help. I would be able to talk to a representative right from my home and get the assistance needed. Not only for a break in, but in case of a medical emergency as well. Vivint has provided me with something way more valuable than a few pieces of electronic equipment, Peace of Mind.

Salesman misrepresentations, inexperienced installation technicians, damages to my home customer service, scheduling availability, cancellation of service due to not having a qualified licensed technicians, The job is still not finished. Do you realize That you have a serious problem? I was satisfied with my previous provider until Vivint came and sold me a bill of goods that was more expensive and did not meet expectations.

Great experience overall. Tech was knowledgeable and professional. My original concern took a few phone calls with the tech to the office and the original sales rep but was eventually resolved to my satisfaction. My second concern is that I never received a copy of the paperwork, to my email, that I signed as I was told would happen. Please provide that at your earliest convenience. My last issue is the disappointment that the garage door monitor did not work. That eventually could be a deciding factor in keeping the service in the future.

Great customer service and knowledge of products. They knew what they were talking about. When we set the system up on our phone they were able to guide us to do the right thing. They installed the cameras great and fixed our system so that it was able to turn on again.

My camera and a few things still not installed and you people keep trying to take money out of my account. It's cost me 200.00 so far in NSF fees after I told them, "Don't take it out till end of month..." Sooo not impressed. Don't want this horrible product anymore.

I was looking online when I stumbled upon Vivint and I liked the ease of their panel as well as the locks and the doors. The installation was good. The only thing I didn't like was that I also had an alarm for my sister and mom’s house and when they installed the door sensors, they were like the little torpedoes that went in the wall that you couldn't see on the inside, while on mine, they just used the little plastic grills on top of the door. They don't look really good on the trim on the door. But other than that, I've been happy with the features included in my package.

I’m unhappy with the sales experience. I would have appreciated the salesman making an appointment with me rather than hijacking my entire evening. The survey was taken before I received any documents and before the installer arrived. I was coached on how to answer. I let the installer install the equipment because that was easier than a confrontation with the salesman. Who installs a system before the customer has the chance to read the Service Agreement? Not a good Sales approach. The entire experience was completed at 10:30 pm. Not cool!

We didn't have an efficient security system my husband wanted cameras inside and outside the house. That time, we had to give up ADT as it wasn’t really what we wanted to keep around. We wanted to go something digital to where we could do something that wasn’t necessarily hardwired into the home and so we chose to go with Vivint.
I told Vivint's representative to give me the spiel, give me his card and write up a quote to see how much what we wanted was. He said that he would call us back and before the night ended, my husband called him back and told him that we were interested in their offer. Since getting the system, it has been good to me. Recently I realized that my door camera isn't working and while I haven't had the chance to call Vivint, I haven't had any issues with it either. Furthermore, I've had excellent interactions with Vivint's sales representatives and they've always been able to resolve any situation.

My sister recommended Vivint to me and we have the thermostat which I wanted to get for the house, security wise. The installation team upgraded my thermostat and my interaction with them was good. Vivint's service has been all right and I can check my alarm system with a smartphone. My son got Vivint at his place too.

Terrible customer service, you are STUCK in a 5 year contract unless you pay in full. We have had alarm now for less than a year and the alarm always has an issue, the doorbell is always offline or not connecting to the internet, more than 5 different technicians have come and the problem is never fixed. Today my alarm was triggered and apparently according to Vivint a sensor is bad and I have to wait 4 weeks before someone can come to my home and fix problem but they will mail me a sensor that will take approximately 7 to 10 business days. Meantime home is at risk. DO NOT USE THEM. Had to give 1 star or I could not post comment.

I had everything installed and had problems from day 1. My address was all wrong. My phone number on file was wrong. Couldn't have camera in backyard where I needed it. Wires were left hanging. Took the tech over 5 hours to install but the reason I had to get it taken out the people that own the house are selling it and didn't want it left in the place. Once I find a place and make sure I'm not moving anytime soon I will call and see if I am still qualified to have you back in my home but with better understanding on what cameras will work better for what I need them to do.

They “installed” a system and said it will charge - it never did!! It would take weeks to get someone out to fix something they installed the next day. I received texts and beeps from an improperly installed panel for 24 hrs. I canceled service and it took weeks for them to remove the parts! Horrible products. Don’t waste your time!!

We had a salesman come to our house with promises of a beautiful security system. He said there was a buyout plan. He mentioned that he would set 200 dollars aside from it and we mentioned it would be far more. He said Vivint would take care of it. He lied. He also lied about a credit check. Vivint told us they wouldn't do a buyout that big. We should have known this before he tried to trap us through our 10 day trial period. I kept calling and asking if the buyout was taken care of. I sent it to him 4 times. He proceeded to tell me he didn't have it or he needed a paper copy. Get a printer. Seriously. This is the worst experience/attempt to trap into a contract. We would have had a second contract with 1700 dollars owing with AlarmTek if he got away with it. Good thing we cancelled just in time. Now our old security system is in shambles. They made a mess of my house and garage with no care in the world. This company is horrible.

We are experiencing problems with our cameras going offline from time to time. We have reported this to the Vivint Representative who advised it could be the cameras themselves or WiFi connection. We were away and the system would Disarm itself and had to be re-set from my cell phone. I had understood that someone would be here this week to review and so far no one has showed up to resolve the issue.

A few hours after install everything stopped working. Now I can’t get a technician out for 3 days. So I have no alarm system that I’m paying for, for 3 days, if it even works after that. May have to cancel.
