    Two people mentioned Vivint to me and they explained what they had and told me that they were really happy with it. I checked into Vivint and got their service for my home. I've had it since January this year. We put in a second one for our business over the summer. I feel really comfortable with the system. When I had to reset the system a couple of times and had different technical things, Vivint's customer service helped me out and walked me through it.

    I found Vivint to be good after their door-to-door salesman explained the service and the process to me. He knew the product well. The team that installed the system also did a good job. They were quick and they knew what they were doing. I got the basic package and that is all I’ve wanted. I'd recommend Vivint and tell people that if they wanna secure their home, Vivint is better and cheaper than ADT.

    The gentleman from Vivint had entered the home and tore my security system. He said it was outdated and they spin off ADT. I asked him why he did it and that he didn't have to tear it up. He could have just cut those wires right there in case I wanted to utilize it. Even though they may have upgraded, I did not expect them to tear up my system and break it up like he did to keep me from utilizing it ever in the future. He wasn't professional at all. Some of the things he said was fraudulent. But I have yet to see that particular individual again since he installed the system.

    The service wasn't totally all the way up to par. I wanted to find out more information on having some sort of alert system to the phone. Take for instance, I've been in the hospital and my particular phone wasn't receiving the messages from the security system when they were trying to contact me. Someone activated the system at home, which resulted in them sending the police to the house. But what happened was one of the pets had triggered the alarm, and my son had put it in the wrong code. Another gentleman was a little bit more open with me as far as information, telling me that they don't monitor. They're a new company, and they still got a lot of things they have to work out, but they'll do their best.

    I have an app system that's on the phone that I can monitor the camera from here, as long as my WiFi system is up and running and everything. I'm pretty pleased with it, but I would like to upgrade because I'd like to have more for my windows, that's on the lower floor, also participating in the monitoring, as far as those being secured as well, because it's on the first floor and it is accessible to intruders. I had to call the company and have them talk me through some things in order to get it back online and get it monitoring. I would also like to have a booklet or information to troubleshoot systems. So far, I've been pleased with Vivint. It's a pretty good system.

    My wife and I went to a home improvement show last month and spoke with a vendor for Vivint Security Systems. The system sounded like a great buy. After the install I started testing the system and they didn't install it completely. When I called about the improper install they refused to fix problem without signing a long term contract. I spoke with another friend and they did something similar to them. VIVINT is a hustle. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT???? SHARE THIS WITH EVERY. YOU CAN TO STOP THEM FROM THEIR HUSTLE.

    This notice was posted online on 10/1/18 and also e-mailed to customers like myself. This notice is saying that customers will no longer be able to monitor their homes from any mobile device. The only way to playback video will be from the Sky Control panel which they “claim” provides 30 days of continuous video storage. This may be true for others, but certainly not for me. The only videos I can view are for the current day. Without the app the system is useless. "Please be advised we will be phasing out the Vivint Smart Drive app in the coming months. The app will be removed from app stores on November 30, 2018 and no longer supported after February 28, 2019."

    Shopping for an alarm system I came across Vivint. I did what most people do, research the company. I found a hand full of negative reviews, most of them were people complaining about their 499 dlls to get out of contract fee and some said they were a scam. Well... regardless of the bad reviews I decided to give vivint the benefit of the doubt and I am glad I did. I am extremely happy with such a professional and high tech company. They have done all the opposite of what people say in their negative comments. Yes, there is a charge if you break the contract, but guess what? There is a charge in any other company as well. They ask you to read three times the terms and they make sure you understand what you are signing. They call you to rate their technicians, they are on it like no other. Their system is the best in the market in my eyes. Their rates are very competitive and cheaper than Other brands.

    From my perspective as a business owner and a mother of two I feel extremely confident and safe to trust my house and my business to a A+ company. I realize that when consumers don’t get their way or try to get out of a contract and cannot do it without paying, the easiest thing to do is talk negative about that company by leaving an ugly review. Nowadays most people base their opinion on reviews rather than trying and seeing from their own eyes... I am glad I tried and I didn’t let the influence of others make my decision. Also you should always ask what are the guidelines for your estate. Every estate is different, and the rules and regulations vary depending on where you live. Thanks.

    The Vivint reps' expertise was adequate. The installation went well and took no more than an hour. For the most part, the system's features are okay. However, reviewing a video footage through the mobile app has been a struggle at times. 30% of the time, it keeps saying there’s a problem. I have to reset it and hope again.     I've been using Vivint for three years now. When I signed up with them, I had a good interaction with their sales rep. He knew his stuff and I didn't feel any pressure. I chose to be able to open the door from my phone, as well as the alarm and the cameras. The guy who came to install the system was good. However, he did the installation so fast that there were a lot of mistakes. A week after that, two guys had to come in and fix whatever he didn’t do right the first time. But so far, our system is running okay. Vivint is a great company and I highly recommend them.

    They are a scam! They try to upsell you with a new panel/equipment at absurdly high cost. Our "brand new" equipment stopped working within six months. After many phone calls, no show technicians, and months of frustration I finally just gave up. There is no way to cancel without paying the remainder of your contract. Please, do not place this burden on yourself or your family. There are better companies out there with services that actually work. This has been a nightmare of endless stress. I cannot believe they can get away with operating like this. I am contacting absolutely every outlet that I know in order to warn consumers.

    I don’t know how many reviews I have done, but my system was a pointless purchase that does not work. I’m not exaggerating when I say I had 7 work orders in 13 days. Multiple techs came out and the issue is still not resolved. I’m beyond disappointed with this system. I will pay you guys to remove this system and terminate my contract immediately.     The initial telephone salesperson told me I could reuse my Time Warner sensors with the exception of the cameras. Obviously couldn't!! The installer and the person he contacted while here did get me as good of a deal as possible however it still irritates me that I spent over $400 on switching out my thermostats and couldn't even use them. You need to train your salespeople better.

    My Vivint service package includes a doorbell camera, the backdoor camera, and the sensors on the window. The salesman who knocked on my door was great and the installer came within 10 minutes. I didn't have to wait and it was on spot. The cost is good but I am upset that I can't cancel until I own the equipment, that's the only downfall of it. But other than that, everything's been good. Vivint is great and they have resolved any problem I had anytime. Also, I've referred someone to them.

    For over a year now we have been having ongoing issues with our Vivint doorbell camera. It doesn’t record when visitors come to our door or on any part of my front entrance. I have had well over 12 techs out in the past year with three in just this week alone. If you're looking for a doorbell camera that actually works then I wouldn’t get Vivint’s as they can’t seem to get it to work. Every tech says something different and they all always talk crap about what the previous tech tells us. Not to mention the fact that they use contractors who seem to drag their whole family along for an install. I’m so frustrated with this service! All I want is a product and service that fully works, I mean after all that is what I am paying for!

    So far we are liking the system, we were never advised to use internet service to connect to the alarm system, that's the downfall. And in my area were we live is limited for services such as internet and but you guys had us thinking we were able to get services and come out and the set up was quick. We are satisfied. Just not satisfied with the no knowledge of internet services, which should have been explained to us. The tech was very knowledgeable on what he was doing, quick with installing, besides our internet being so slow that's what took the longest.

    Vivint is a good company and one of my family members uses it. The sales rep was very helpful and made sure that I was getting the best price for the situation for my property. He was really good with understanding entry points, as far as setting up the motion sensors. I also appreciated the fact that the installer was very aware and cognizant of where we were putting the device in the property and minimizing any holes in the wall for that. I thought of one place and he suggested another that would not require as much damage to the property. The service package, which has the monitoring, is a little bit expensive per month but I’m satisfied with the service.

    Installation was good, system works well. Not sure I have a need for the light switches if I can't schedule the on and off times. Disappointed in the door bell camera, I hear the door bell a couple of times before it gets to my phone and it takes so long to get to the camera, it isn't very useful.     Vivint sent a troop of people in town that were going up and down the streets and knocking on doors. I spoke with their sales rep and he was very pleasant. His whole game was to sell but he was very nice and knowledgeable. During the installation of the system, the installers came quickly and I didn't have to wait long. The guy that installed it was very professional. At that time, I thought it was a very pleasant experience but I found out later was that many things were left out. I was not instructed on a whole lot of things so I didn’t know how to do many things. I didn’t know the system had things that I should be doing or looking at. I did not know that there were supposed to be updates along the way, that I was supposed to go in to certain parts, into the little menu on the panel, and maybe check for certain things. I had very basic instructions on how to adjust the temperature and the alarm.

    The first few years of working with them were not pleasant at all. My first issue with them was when I was cooking dinner. I was searing a steak and I could get the pan hot. I forgot to hit the exhaust button so when I pulled the pan out of the oven, the smoke was going in. I ran over there, turned off the alarm over there, but never got a phone call from anybody. We were having our dinner when somebody knocked on my door. I got up, got to the door, and there were two police officers. It was 45 minutes to an hour after the whole incident. They were asking me if I was okay which I told them I am. But one of them had his hand on his gun, and the other got a flashlight. They asked me if I was sure that I was okay. I replied yes and asked them why shouldn't I be not okay. He said they got a call from the alarm company that something might be going over here.

    Then in about 10 minutes, a friend of mine called. She asked me if the police came by. I asked how did she know when she was working in a town 35 miles away. I was told that what had happened was, Vivint called her at her job earlier in the evening and said that our fire alarm is going off. She was asked if she wants them to notify the Fire Department and she said that she does. She knows our local volunteer, called one of them that was a friend of ours, and asked for his help so they went but there was nothing. Lights are off. There’s nothing going on.

    She called the alarm company to ask and they gave her my address. She said that it was my house. She then asked them if they have called me, which they replied that they never called me about the incident. I called the company the next day and asked them why wouldn’t they call me. But they were very rude then put me on hold for 30 minutes, and I just hang up but I tried calling a couple times. Then some months went by, the alarm would just go off without any reason so I stop using the alarm completely and I haven’t used it in almost five years.

    There was a guy from some other company that came around the neighborhood and was doing weird things. Mostly everybody had Vivint because we’re in a small town and that’s who’s been out here. The guy kept telling us all the illegal things that Vivint was doing but I didn’t really pay attention to that because he’s a salesman for a competitor. I found out that while people were listening to this guy, Vivint lowered several people’s monthly rates but not mine. And I had yet another issue with the alarm so I called and asked when my contract is up because I’m not renewing. I gave them a list of issues including lowering everybody else’s rates around here, but nobody has offered to lower mine. I was told that they can’t because I told them I'm not gonna renew my contract.

    The guy was just very rude to me on the phone and said that he can’t even talk to me about it because I told them I'm not gonna renew my contract. I asked them who I can talk to about getting some service as the alarm was going off constantly and I couldn’t get it to turn off. I finally got someone on the phone and she was the most pleasant and helpful person in all of my years with Vivint. In talking to her, we learned in going through things and she was looking at it from her system. She said that I was on a very original system and they’ve had many upgrades since then. My system had never been upgraded and no wonder that the alarm isn’t working because they don’t even support that part anymore so she got the alarm to finally turn off. My mother is in her 90s and the alarm was just making her crazy. I could have worked during the day but it was over two days and we had this alarm thing.

    The lady sent someone out to work with system and do the upgrade. The technician was quite pleasant and he told me a lot of stuff. He even said that if I ever have any trouble, I can call him on his cell phone and he’ll come to my home. Since the young man came out and did the upgrade, we haven’t had any issues with it. I’m four years into the contract, and I would call people at Vivint and I’d be put on hold for forever, where they tell me that they can’t help me and they have to transfer me to this department. It was just ridiculous.

    The experience I had with Vivint until that young man came to my house, fixed it, and did the upgrade, shouldn’t have happened all along. And since I haven’t had any trouble with it, it’s been decent. But I don’t have any trust with the company right now because it’s not a good company. It took me four years to get a good person who works for them. I wouldn’t recommend Vivint to anybody.

    They are the worst company I have ever dealt with. System hasn't worked since I bought it 6 months ago. Service guys say there is no way to make it work as everything is to far from the main unit. But they will not let me out of contract now even after they told me they would. I have hour long phone calls with them due to being on hold for so long. Horrible, horrible company. Never again with them.

    DO NO BUY FROM them. Do research... There are better systems for much much less money. I have made many phone calls and they always put me on hold for longer than I've ever been on hold. No one can make a decision and no one is going to let you out of their way to long contract for any reason whether they can make their system work or not. Once you sign up they own you and they know it. It really is the worst company I have ever worked with for anything. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE COMPANY. Dishonest. I have found many, many other reviews like this one. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM EVER!!! This is the only company I have ever got online and put bad review on.

    I have TWO of these systems at different locations. One works GREAT and the other has NEVER worked since day one. Even COMPLETE REPLACEMENT of the system and STILL JUNK. Cameras go offline all the time. Sensors go off for no apparent reason. The NEW system, turns out to be USED OLD STOCK. Only found this out, because the CELL quit working and alarmed the system with a code NOBODY knew what it meant. I have stopped paying and contemplating lawsuit. I have spent THOUSANDS of $$$ and dozens of hours on a system that goes offline all the time, has to be rebooted weekly and fails to show movement when the cameras are actually online! ***STAY AWAY***

    I've been with Vivint for at least eight years now and their prices were comparable. They have been exceptionally good in helping me the issues I've had. Recently, I was having an issue with the weather feature. When turning it on, it alternates between the display and the weather, and it was not working. I spoke to a technician on the phone and he walked me through the solution and it was resolved.

    One very important thing also happened. My husband died in his sleep. I'd gone down to let my dogs out and I’m losing my sight so I didn’t see that he was still in the bed. He always covered himself up and had pillows over him, and I was late for an appointment. I went down and opened the door ‘cause he'd always leave ahead of me, and the alarm went off. I pressed the key numbers, and then went upstairs, and I found him. He was already in rigor mortis, and I couldn’t accept it. I went into shock. And because I didn’t stay by the monitor to say that everything was okay, Vivint called. I told the man to help me as I couldn’t wake up my husband. He immediately called 911 and stayed on with me for a few minutes, and he said that I should call my minister so I hung up and called my Rabbi. Then before I knew it, the police came.

    When I was able to talk, my friends were impressed by the way that I was helped and the fact that Vivint just doesn’t accept pressing the correct code buttons, they also follow up with a phone call. They couldn’t help me emotionally but they did the proper thing and called for help for me. I have recommended them to friends.

    A couple of people I knew were using Vivint. The reps were okay although they were a little on the pushy side. They said that if I didn't do it then, I wouldn't get this amazing deal. I asked if I could have at least a day to think about it, but it had to be decided already, and I was quite surprised with that. It was the salesperson and his buddy who did the installation.

    I'm kinda disappointed, however, in the quality of the system. It's a hit and a miss on whether or not it records at my doorbell. I've had people come into my backyard and it was not showing. My phone is not alerting me. My neighbors would be the ones who would phone me and ask me if I knew that there was a vehicle in my driveway. I've had people on my front door and I wouldn't know that they were there if not for the neighbors who messaged me. The system is very sporadic and then it'll go days without recording anything although I’m coming and going.

    I've called Vivint a couple of times, but I really don't have the time to sit on hold. When the call takes more than a couple of minutes, I usually just hang up. The customer service has been okay though. I phoned in a while ago to up the sensitivity on my recording and it was working fine for a bit. But since the last month, it has been very hit and miss whether or not it records anything. In addition, I have had some issues with the door lock. Sometimes, it will be locked but it's not picking up the sensor and it'll show me on the screen that it's not locked.

    The motion detectors Vivint used in our home need batteries with 18 months. Cost per detector is $14. Hard to find batteries as well Cr123A. Comparing VIVINT motion detectors to other home that uses another security company Alarm.com detectors and equipment for security their detectors and all door detectors are over 3 yrs old and no batteries needed changed to date. Plus those batteries are cr2023 button batteries and only need one at $2 each. It’s easy to see Vivint has a long way to go. Also Vivint needs to increase their app's performance and the rules available in the app are secondary to Alarm.com by far. Vivint will be coming out of this house in 18 months. About battery replacement time. Shop around.

    Vivint sent a crew out into the neighborhood and a guy knocked on my door. He was a really nice guy and my experience with him was great. For the installation, one guy came out and he was very good and quick. It was kinda late in the evening when he came, so he was so fast that he did it in no time at all. He was supposed to come back and do something else to the windows within the next day or two, but he never came back or we weren’t home when he came back. But it was no big deal and it didn't affect how anything worked.

    Other than that, the quality of the features is great. We had a few old glitches because they had a software update that made our doorbell quit working. But I called and their customer service reps were great at getting back. They uploaded the right thing and everything was fine. The customer service there is fantastic and I've never been disappointed when I call in. They’ve always been very helpful. I have been meaning to call them again to ask them to bring us another sign.     I had a very pleasant experience with Vivint's sales rep that I ended up having their system installed. And it was done on the same day that I dealt with him. He was respectful, informative and he answered all my questions. I got two cameras, a few door contacts, window contact, motion detector and smoke detector from them. It has been mostly just a camera problem that was on and off in the couple of years that I've been with them, but the rest of the stuff has been okay. However when Vivint took their equipment out they took the power source out and wires that were needed and the reinstaller had a rough time.     I had a rep come to my house and tell me that since I was a corner house that they had a special for me if I agreed to put the sign on the lawn. There was no special rate. I was told I was leasing the equipment, come to find out 5 months later when the system isn't working properly and I want to discontinue that I'd have to pay the entire balance of the equipment in full.

    What am I going to do with their monitor and door sensors? Their monthly fee is much higher than many other services out there. I was also told we would receive a $20 or more per month discount on our homeowners, so the monthly cost would net around $20. I should have checked first as this was not the case. I received a $2 discount per month off of my homeowner's insurance.

    The doorbell constantly sends updates to my phone that it detected a visitor when no one is there. The doorbell picks and chooses what it wants to record and when. Most of the time the recordings are of nothing. I feel extremely duped into purchasing this system. You are better off going with another company that has much cheaper equipment, or an equipment leasing program. By the time I pay off the equipment it will be outdated. BEWARE OF THEIR MISLEADING SALES TEAM!

    Updated on 10/12/2018: I was shocked with Vivint commented on my review. I took them up on their offer to resolve my concerns, BUT NEVER HEARD BACK! Has anyone else heard back? I feel like they respond to the reviews to look like they are going to assist, but don't really do so!

    We had a young group of college age men come to our neighborhood to sign up local residents. After talking with the young man representing Vivint it appeared to be a very good security system. At this point I should have listened to my gut feeling and sent him down the road. The well versed college student from Colorado gained our trust and convinced my wife and I to sign up. The main reason was not only the equipment offered for this “limited time promotion” but in his words “you can cancel after 6 months. No questions ask”. IF you place a Vivint sign with light in the front and back of our home.

    Long story short we moved from Texas to Florida only to receive a letter in the mail from a collection agency stating we broke our contract and we failed to pay the $409.00 fee. I have never in my 53 years of life on this earth failed to pay or uphold any agreement that I have been involved in with any company or for that matter a individual. Be aware the snakes in the grass that make their way into your home!

    Vivint’s installers were punctual, dressed appropriately, very well mannered and articulate. Explained ahead of equip. to be installed and took notes as I answered his questions. Cleaned up any mess made during install as well. They installed all new home automation equipment, so everything can be pretty much controlled by your smartphone device. They mostly installed wireless equipment from the video doorbell, a new Nest thermostat to light controllers and of course the home alarm system (+more) that can be all tweaked with a few taps/swipes of your thumb.

    The apps were easy to set up (installer will walk you through that) but once you are done creating them you can forget about them because Vivint has integrated each of the most important settings of each app or categories into one easy to navigate app of their own. You can ask Google (home mini) to turn on your bedroom lights or create an action in the app to turn on all lights when you open the door and disarm your alarm. Overall, I am quite pleased with my experience. From the beginning of the install, to the daily use of the equipment and the personalized “real person” customer service.     My interactions with the Vivint sales rep went well. They explained everything well and I understood everything that they were doing. However, the installation team had some trouble trying to get everything together. They messed my HVAC system and part of it went bad. A part of that had to do with the thermostat and part of it had to do with the installation of my HVAC system, so it wasn’t totally on Vivint’s fault. They were getting frustrated as well trying to get the thing to work like it should and eventually, it did work out. By the time they left, it was 11:00 at night so we were all exhausted. Other than that, everything went fine.

    The Vivint system has really been nice. I look at the security cameras all the time. I just wish I’ve gotten one more and it’s probably a decent value for what we did. Also, any problem that I’ve had with them, I know that they’ll either replace or repair it. Even on my HVAC, they sent somebody out three different times and they never charged me anything, so that was a plus. I would recommend Vivint. In fact, I’ve told some people about it. So far, we're happy with it.

    I didn't pay much attention to Vivint before since I already had a service, but I knew that they had some good equipment. Later on, one of my buddies signed up with Vivint and he told me that everything was working great for him. What really caught my attention was the fact that Vivint had clear cameras for the security system because they all put them 1080p. What I had at that moment was not sufficient in that way, so I decided to swap over after I heard that Vivint's equipment and service were pretty decent.

    Everything went great with Vivint. Everybody was straightforward with what I was getting. When the technician came out, he was courteous, friendly and he took his time. He answered any questions I had and made sure everything was set up correctly. It was what I would hope to expect from somebody coming out to install equipment like that. Everything was professionally done and I was happy with everything.

    I got a good deal for what I got from Vivint. I have the cameras, the doorbell camera and the front camera, and the sensors. All seem to function. But every now and then, they are hiccups. When you try to connect to the cameras from your mobile device, it may take a minute for it to pull it up. Also, the panel sometimes is a little slow in responding when you're pulling onto your cameras on there. But that can be smoothened out with a firmware update. Other than that, Vivint's security system works a lot better than my previous one. It's smoother in terms of the way I can control everything. The panels and the hardware are more advanced than what some of their competitors were offering. I had two other services, and Vivint worked the best out of the three.

    I honestly don’t even know where to start. We signed up for 2 years however after a BBB complaint and no resolution to our issue we find out they tricked us. I am blind so I really take it very offensive when anyone or a company takes advantage of me. I have still products that keep beeping so loud every other minute that we started sleeping in another level of my house just to avoid it. We have called. They refuse to fix or replace. We have purchased 3 different batteries for the smoke detector. The app is a joke. Every now and then it won’t work. The cs phone wait is very long and pray someone nice will answer so all in all avoid them at all cost.

    Vivint did the installation and I liked it. The alarm is good and I also like their garage door opener. However, it's hard to reach Vivint. We have to schedule the service, and there's nobody in the Prince Albert area. Vivint usually charge a service fee of 50 bucks, so that's why I just keep what's going on. My camera is not working but I just left it like that. I also replaced the battery of my carbon monoxide detector. Vivint gave the battery and it's not even one year and it's beeping already. Their service is okay but I don't like the service fee. I'm not satisfied now with Vivint, but I'm in a contract. So if ever I could change my alarm system, I would change it right away after the contract. There are more cheaper alarm systems in our area that are easy to reach and they come right away. I'm not recommending Vivint.

    The Vivint system was great for about six months until our camera started having issues. They kept saying that it was my internet, not their cameras. So, I had my internet company come out and test it and they said I’m getting good quality and I got the top-of-the-line router. I kept calling Vivint back and it was impossible to get somebody to come and look at our cameras. When they sent somebody, he said, “All right, this will fix it,” and it didn’t. So I called back and then it was another four weeks for somebody to come out. We’ve had four people come out and look at them. Finally, Vivint agreed that it was their cameras and not my internet. So, they came in and removed the cameras. It was the last tech that came out, Dante, who helped me to finally talk to Vivint to be able to get the cameras taken out.

    Vivint was supposed to change my bill but when they removed my cameras, they didn’t remove my storage device which is completely useless without the cameras. So, when I called about my bill being wrong, they said, “Oh, let go of the equipment,” so another two or three weeks went by for somebody to come out and get the other piece of equipment out. They said that they were going to refund me for the last few months that I have not had the cameras but they’ve still been charging me for them. I’m happy with the alarm system, but that’s it. It’s the typical alarm system and I can control it from my phone, that’s the only benefit.

    So far, I’m locked in because if I cancel, I gotta pay back all the equipment so it’s not worth it. Furthermore, I have the fire alarm thing wherein I can look at my activity and see where it’s been activated. I’ve set the fire alarm off three times but I’ve not gotten a phone call saying that it has contacted the alarm company, which defeats the purpose of having an alarm system.

    Don't go with Vivint. Stay with the company that you have if you have one. We were with ADT before but we changed because we thought that Vivint was more modern and nicer. Their sales and customer service were nice as well as the guy who came to install the system. We got the panel and some sensors for the door because they used the one that we had for ADT. We also had to buy the camera separately. However, the system is not working properly. Sometimes, when we go, we arm it and when we go back, we see that it didn't turn on.

    We're retired now and we're gone quite a bit, and then it happened that a guy from Vivint came to the door first, so we decided to go with them. We have a doorbell cam, window and door sensors, movement sensor, and carbon monoxide, fire and steam detector included in our package. The installer was fast. We were getting ready to leave the next morning on a month-long trip and he was here late until the evening doing the installation. However, we had a lot of trouble with the equipment at first. We have the automatic garage door with a push button and it was not connecting to our panel since they didn’t put a relay in. Also, the button was too far away. Finally, we got that fixed after two new doorknobs and a new relay. Vivint took care of it and they were good about it.

    I had to call Vivint's customer service when our thermostat went haywire. It was saying one thing, but that wasn’t what the temperature was, so I had to reset it. We also called them when we had battery issues, such as how to change batteries. But after doing the doorknob thing, which was a weekly phone call, things were much better.

    System works good as far as getting emergency service response (when monitoring subscription is in place). However, if you use internal door locks or garage controller and have guest in your house with limited access - they can lock/unlock or open the garage just by walking to the alarm panel and clicking the button - not good. This is a major flaw on this system. For instance, my wife and I do Airbnb at the house. Thru the Vivint app we can create limited access guess/users to arm or disarm the system, it is easy to do even thru the app on our phones. However, when the panel is in disarm mode it shows the option to unlock internal door locks and to open the garage controller without any restrictions.

    So, if you use internal door locks and/or the garage controller to prevent unauthorized access to certain rooms within your house.... and believe that a limited guess with no access cannot open those locks or garage door... think again!! They can open them by simply walking to the panel when is in disarm mode and "touch" the unlock button for the door lock or garage controller. This makes the system a waste of money, in my case. Now, I have to unpair door locks and garage opener from the Vivint panel (hint - waste of money) and link the door locks and garage opener to my Smart things controller were I can control 100% who can unlock a door lock, and who can have access to open my garage door. Hope this help!

    On 10-4-18 at 8:01 PM our outdoor camera showed we had a package sitting on our porch. The camera caught the package getting delivered at aprx 6:30 pm. From 7:53 pm to about 8:03 pm the camera caught motion every minute. The camera then did not record any motion from 8:03-8:08 pm which in that five minute span of package had disappeared from our porch. We contacted customer support and they had zero explanation or resolve. I was told by VIVINT that they can't promise that the camera catches motion. What is the point of a system that isn't guaranteed to work when you need it. We will be canceling our service and requesting a refund because this company cannot fulfill the service it promises to.

    We moved out of town and we want to be able to travel, so we thought having a security system would be beneficial. We bought a system from Vivint and we added onto it a house thermometer that controls the heat, which has been very beneficial. We can program that and we can change the heat up and down with that on our phone. It's really nice that we can see the activity on our phone. Also, we could see if someone comes up to our door because there is a camera through the doorbell. We are more aware of what's going on in our house especially when we're gone. If the alarm goes out, Vivint will notify us right away. And if they can't get a hold of us, they'll be proactive in getting someone out to our house. We really like our system.

    Vivint's rep was very good. He told us the pros and the cons. He also told us the benefits of the system. The installers were very efficient, very thorough and they cleaned up. I didn’t have to clean up a mess after them. We also had a different person come in and do the control for the heat, and he was very positive and receptive as I was asking questions. He was willing to come back in if we needed help. I would recommend Vivint. I would tell others the benefits of it.

It dropped my score a few points and no one at Vivint would take ownership as to how or why this happened. Do not use this company!!

    At one time I would have given a good review, but after dealing with their customer service and basically being told "that's tough. You have to pay or else!!" I have had Vivint for 8 years and now I feel very ripped off. I have sold my home and needed to cancel and I am not moving to another home. They informed me that I had made a 5 year contract over the phone and that there are 17 months remaining on the contract and that if I could not get the people buying the home to assume the contract I would have to pay the 17 months and that was over $900. I offered $450 to no avail. Also you basically cannot get anything out of them as they have you recorded if supposedly renew your contract over the phone.

    Yet I do not recall the individual stating that I would have to pay this if I canceled. Next came the "if you do not pay you will go to collections!!" There is no compromise on anything. Just basically "that's the way it is!!" Run. Do not walk from Vivint. There are other companies out there that will help you with an alarm system. Whatever you do do not agree to anything on the phone as they will use it against you for they record you.

    I would not recommend this company. First off the salesmen were not honest with me about the cost. In addition in the three months that I've had the system it has not worked for most of that time. I have had four technicians out trying to solve the problem. None of them have been able to solve it. I talked to a supervisor and she didn't seem to care how disappointed I was. I am so frustrated because I have a contract with a bank and cannot just cancel the service. I paid well over $1,000 and I'm paying a monthly fee pretty much for nothing because the cameras have not worked. In addition it keeps getting disconnected from the router. If you're looking for a security system don't get Vivint.

    While the service department is kind and helpful the business end of this company is awful, from day one the installer crossed out the standard time frame on the contract and put 60 months on it... I did not notice it. They look to always have a reason why they can't shut off service till customers go through all the games they put out there, including a letter 30 days before saying you are stopping service, and a call 3 days before they are suppose to draw from your account again. I did all this and was told I would not be charged anymore. That was 2 days ago.

    Today I go to my bank page as I do each and every day of my life and I see a hold from Vivint. I call and they hooked me up with some snippy women who told me my contract started on the 3rd of the month so I would still be on the hook for this month as well even after I have already paid a full 60 month term. I asked to speak to a supervisor, she got even worse. I told her I was going to do some blogging about Vivint she did not care, was not helpful, never gave me a supervisor. I stayed on hold for a while. I hung up called the bank put a stop payment on Vivint! Thanks for the memories Vivint.

    A rep came through the neighborhood and told us about Vivint's new technology. He was very friendly, positive and upbeat. We got the security system and the installation team was okay. However, there were some issues installing the basement detector. Our ceiling wasn't a solid ceiling and the installer tried to stick the system up there. It fell off out of the ceiling so that wasn't very good. I contacted Vivint and they told me that I could lay the system down somewhere so it can work and do what's it's supposed to do.

    And then, we're constantly having issues with the thermostat which keeps going offline and the reps told us we can keep replacing batteries. We haven't had it for very long, but we've had to change the battery three times this year. I was wondering if it was gonna be my new life 'cause that's annoying. We're also having issues with the garage door opener. It's a running joke in the house and we're wondering why we even had it installed. It sounds good in practice and it works sometimes, but then the other times, it doesn't. We have the remote piece on our phones and when we hit the garage remote, it'll just circle around where the garage is and we don't know if it's closed or open unless we sit back and watch.

    I like the ability to use the system on my phone and I like the customer service when I call, but I'm not sure if I'm getting the appropriate timely response. The rep should be saying, "Hey, you seem to be having some issues, and let's resolve it for you" but I haven't gotten that. I know that Vivint is a new company and they're still working out some of the bugs but I'm not 100% satisfied.

    We were with ADT and we changed to Vivint, and now we're regretting it. We're having lots of problems. We put some new sensors in and within a few days, they're telling us it's not working right. We'd put the batteries in and it would tell us "low battery". They sent it and had my husband to install it and told him what to do over the phone to save the technician's visit. It's very frustrating because we need our home protected. Their reps are very good as a whole, except we never get the problems taken care of for very long. We're very disappointed that it's not working correctly because what is offered is great. If it would work correctly for us, we'd be very happy with it. We're probably gonna change because we got to have better coverage.

    I customized my Vivint security system but it was inconvenient. If you get a single item, you would get a higher price so I was forced to go to a bundle to get the very bang for my buck. I was also stuck into a two-year contract. I'm also paying for maintenance fees as far as them coming out repairing something that broke or is not functioning. I'm not sure if they offered a warranty packet that you could purchase, but I don’t think that was something that I got.

    I had a technician come out. He had reset the alarm system and it was not working after he left. So it was something that he had done to the code and I had to call a different tech to come in. There was also a time I called them because the system had just dropped off, and they were trying to do testing. They didn’t come out. They missed the three-hour window they had and didn’t call. Afterwards, the technician showed up but I was leaving and I got things to do.

I asked an installer how to integrate Philips Hue lights with Google and the main hub/user panel. His response was it is best for you to order it from us and we’ll install and make it work! Really! I can buy a Ring package with Alexa and do far better than what I have now! I have separate apps for Hue lights, Google, Vivint. Very frustrating and a waste of money! Even Best Buy quit carrying Vivint for this same reason. NOTHING TRULY INTEGRATES. EITHER THAT OR THEY LEFT THE JOB TOTALLY INCOMPLETE. But the lack of ANY INFORMATION OR MANUALS is inexcusable!!!!!

    The contract with Vivint is for 5 years, which is very lengthy for an alarm system contract. On top of that, you have to pay somebody to come out to fix something that’s broken that’s theirs and you pay monthly for. But I needed an alarm system and I didn’t wanna go to AlarmForce, so I just chose to go with them. I was able to customize my package to what I wanted and the quality of their features is fine except for the garage door opener. I’ve had numerous problems with it and have had that replaced once. Other than that, my experience with Vivint has been fine.

    Definitely enjoy the system, to me probably the best security system on the market today. I had ADT Pulse and it really fell short vs. Vivint. My only complaint is was promised google devices and installer mentioned they were discontinued. The only reason for four stars on customer service Is miscommunication on window/glass break sensors/promotion that wasn’t valid any longer. The system isn’t cheap, well worth it but $1800 for equipment is a lot; however, with 0% for 5 years to payoff is acceptable. On customer service just the fact that window glass break sensors weren’t compatable but Vivint made it right and provided 7 sensors at no cost. Also the issue of promising 3 google devices that were discontinued would have been nice to know.

    There was an incident to the house where someone threw an object to the front window, and my mother was scared to death, so she had the Vivint security system put into the house. When she passed, I inherited the property, and I just kept the security system in place. The system needed to be upgraded and the technicians that came out were very professional. They get the job done quickly and explained things so that I understood what I would be dealing with. Their pricing structure is also extremely fair.

    The customer service is wonderful. Every time I have called for whatever my challenge might be, they're always polite, knowledgeable, helpful and very upbeat. They're very, very good at what they do, and they make it easy for the customer. When something happens and I need to talk to somebody at the home office regarding battery replacement or turning things off, so I can take care of an electrical situation and turning things back on, they are fabulous. I'm in my 70s, so I'm not really up on technology. They walked me through things with a lot of patience and it takes a lot of patience when it comes to technology in me. I've got a false alarm and they took care of it immediately, too. I love Vivint and I recommend them to other people.

    We've had good and bad experiences with the reps of Vivint. We have a somewhat large house and a lot of sensors. When we first had the sensors put in the house, the gentleman who came out did not do the best that he could do. There were some issues on where they placed things. The sensors were put in such a manner that we could not put screens in the windows, and they were put on the opposite side where they open up, which makes no sense whatsoever. The sensors weren’t working properly but they’ve been fixed.

    We’re using the door sensors, window breaks, motion detectors and the services are fine. I would recommend Vivint but make sure you know what you’re getting into and make sure that before people leave, you go over things. At first Vivint was great and then I considered changing companies. But I had yet to change so Vivint has been pretty good.

    The first sales representative who came in was very nice and informative. The installers were also really good. The system is good and it’s working out. We were at Sam’s and they had a display there. The gentlemen there asked us if we knew about Vivint, and we said that we already have them at our home. We also said that we were looking into getting the one with the doorbell or the camera, but we were told that we needed to call the office because they couldn’t do that there. Other than everything has been good. Whenever we call about it, they’ve been very helpful. Whenever we have a problem, they take care of it. We always recommend Vivint to our friends. If they’re neighbors, we bring them inside and we show them what we have and our experience with it.

    As we began our process looking for a new security system, Vivint seemed very promising. They had the allure of updated technology and easy to use systems. As we have used our system, however, we have come to find out it is quite the opposite. At the beginning of our process we were told by our installer that we would be able to cancel this service if we were not satisfied at any point in time. What we were not told, however, is that these installers are just saying what they can to get us, the consumer, to sign on the dotted line!

    From the moment we signed we have had nothing but issues. Our main control panel frequently glitches, and has even started creating false alarms (which included calling the police, twice!) without even setting off a single alarm at our house. It was essentially hitting a panic button that we were unaware of. After 30 minutes on the phone with the company, they reset the service and fixed the glitch. This is not the first time this glitch has happened, and no one seems remotely apologetic about the problem or the lengthy phone call times we have endured.

    I would say we have called Vivint around a dozen times with problems and at no point in time has a phone call been under 30 minutes. Their service is about as unapologetic as it gets, and we are feeling stuck with this company. I am not writing this as another upset customer, I am writing this as someone who is truly trying to enlighten those looking for a good security company to not sign with someone who locks you in to expensive contracts with no recourse for their faulty equipment. Please, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere!

    Be careful when dealing with this company. We moved and closed on our house during a family emergency. When I realized we hadn’t called Vivint to let them know we moved, I called to cancel my service. They convinced me to “defer” my account while deciding if I wanted it at the new home with reassurance no billing would occur. A couple weeks later I receive a message from the new owners of our home that the alarm triggered and they had no way to disarm it. The police arrived as well as a loud alarm going off at their home. I called Vivint again very upset that the system was still on! They refused to turn it off since I was on a deferment plan!!! I told them they needed to cancel my service, which I had to write an email and then wait a few days for the service to be shut off. Ridiculous!

    Fast forward and I realize they charged me for 2 months at a home I no longer lived at! I called customer service to ask them to refund my account and I was passed around and spoken down to the entire time! I was told my billing cycle was on the 10th and I called on the 5th to defer my account which takes 5-7 business days. Since that went into my new billing cycle, I was charged the full amount and no prorated amount would be refunded! I have never heard of that from a company providing service. I went around and around to get the next month refunded and had to keep asking for a manager. They told me a cancellation of service has to be on file for 30 days before it cancels, so again no refund.

    I explained that the reason for the cancellation was because they refused to turn off my old system, in a home I no longer owned, with new home owners and a system that went off and they couldn’t turn off! After being jerked around by many customer service representatives, one of which actually said before passing me on in a quick and quiet voice, “you are still going to get the same amount!”, I finally was passed on to a manager who used a very good tactic of shutting me down and moving the call along. It was a very unpleasant experience and I am still out money. Be careful. They do not have their stuff together and are ridiculous to work with!

    My internet was supposedly going to be top notch, better than Xfinity... Well, that is almost true, and then just an all out lie. Every now and then my internet is fast, but it mostly lags. Having more than one screen is a problem and anything streaming in 4k is just not good. I should have stuck with Comcast. At least with them, I knew what I was getting and when. With Vivint, you have crappy times on windy, snowy, and rainy days sometimes. If you have any issues, don't worry... customer service is a joke. I have had probably 5 call ins for service issues spanning the last year and a half, I finally had someone come out about a week ago just to tell me that they were sorry and that they couldn't find anything wrong with it... Then, there is also no dedicated people, billing-technical support-sales... I have literally called the line 3 times and dialed for all three things hoping to get someone different to talk to and got the same exact person all three times. What a joke.

    I wanted cameras and my tech guy said that Vivint provides them, so he recommended their system. There was a bit of a hiccup during installation as the installer didn’t seem to know exactly what he was doing. It took him a little while to figure it out so he came out twice. Other than having to remember my password, the system is great. The whole Vivint website is geared towards, “This is a home alarm,” but I'm using it at an office. I don’t have a large office and so it works fine. I like that before I head out, particularly at night when I think I hear something else, I can check the cameras to make sure there's nothing looking outside before I head to my car. Overall, I've been happy with Vivint and everything has been great so far.

    I’ve been with ADT for 10 years and something happened with some of their towers so they could no longer guarantee cell connection to my alarm system. After going round and round and exhausting Band-Aids to make it work, I said I was gonna go somewhere else, did some investigation, talked to some of my neighbors and they said Vivint was a good choice.

    I went through a Best Buy. There was a Vivint employee there that answered any questions that the Best Buy employee could not, and it was great. Also, the installation went well. The guy was nice, took care of everything and answered all our questions. I have the digital keypad, door and window sensors, carbon monoxide, smoke, doorbell and cameras. However, I wish it could be a bit louder when I hear the alarm go off. I can’t hear it from my bedroom. But other than that, I’m fine with it. I’ve been happy and completely satisfied with Vivint.

    I just bought a new house with a security system and wasn't really interested in security but the sales guy showed me some really cool stuff and I couldn't be happier. This system is so much easier than my old cobbled ge, ring and kevo lock. Everything is seamless and very simple. I don't even arm it I usually just use it for the cameras and remote locking.     I have two systems at my two office buildings. Both systems I have trouble with the automated door locks. Some days they just do not work at all and other days they work fine. Out of six handles total, I have had to replace two, both of which stopped working within the first month, and am having to replace the third handle after a week of being in service. Add to that that I cannot add people and PINS through the APP nor through the Panel and the passcodes are nearly worthless. Multiple times my employees have been left outside and not been able to get into the buildings because the handles do not work at all...the buttons do not even beep when pressed.

    Add to that you cannot call the salesperson who sold the job, he says call the install techs; the install techs tell you to call the support hotline; and the support hotline tells you it's going to be $60 to have a tech come out to repair...for an item that failed...within the first year...within the FIRST MONTH. What kind of BS is that? They also tell you that they can send you a new handle that I have to install? Didn't know I was going to spend the rest of my days replacing failing Vivint equipment. In the first week of my newest install, I was left without a door handle cover, the door closure knocks the door sensor off the mount, the window sensor no longer works, and the front entrance handle doesn't work. All of this would be perfect if Vivint would take responsibility and support their product.

    Vivint has been one of the top rated ones, technology-wise, for their app, so my wife chose them. We got outdoor cameras and a ring camera then the rest are the normal contact sensors. The initial installation was bad. Vivint sent somebody out that didn't know what he was doing, so they had to send out other guys multiple times to fix the stuff that the first guy did wrong. We even had to have some money credited back to our account for some holes that got drilled by accident or in the wrong spot. Vivint also cut us a check for $250 to fix the mistakes done by the original installer. We weren't happy with any of those but once Vivint got all of them fixed, everything was fine for a while.

    However, there is an ongoing issue that we've had since day one and it is something that we're living with. Our doorbell camera or ring camera really hasn't worked perfectly. Every time we called Vivint, they would just tell us to reboot it. Then it would work for a while but it would go offline again. They've sent somebody out to re-fix it and the same thing happened. So our doorbell camera is too inconsistent to rely on because it goes offline all the time. It is not really helping us with what we need it to be helping us with, so their customer service has been average on that end. Nobody has ever come out and said that they knew what the problem was and there was a fix for that.

    Other than that, when the system is working, we're happy with it. I'm not a security expert but the orange design in the front of our house probably does more for it as a deterrent than what the actual product does for us. We haven't had a system like that of Vivint before, but it is not meeting any of our expectations and I'm disappointed. It is average and I don't know if it is worth switching to find out if somebody is better, so that is why we haven't. There are some people that we know that has Vivint, too, and it seems like it is a hit or miss as to whether you're gonna have issues or not, which is not good. So to my friends who might ask me about Vivint, I would say, "Good luck."

    When I signed up I was told by the agent the 1st month is free. I was charged for the month and when I called to query this I was told they will look into it but I have not heard anything back or have been credited the money. I am still waiting for my carbon monoxide and flood sensors to get installed and has been around 3 weeks. I used the chat on the site and they told me someone will be in touch with me and that was 6 days ago. I will not recommend this security company to anybody. I am very dissatisfied with the service I am getting.

    We just had our system installed and nothing works. Messages that battery panel is low even though it's new. Troubleshooting with support didn't work. Vivint can't get technicians out to correct the problem until a week out. Poor customers.

    I used to work for Primerica and Vivint was partnered with them so I tried them out. The first deal was good and we didn’t have any problems. Then one of the sensors went out on the garage so we had to have somebody come out and replace that. Ever since the replacement was done, the system never worked properly again. I talked to customer service and some were completely rude. It didn't matter what I was saying and they did not understand what was going on. Vivint’s service was fine until the system was no longer working.

Said he had a z wave chips for our door locks, went out to his car to get some, came back empty handed and showed us how buy them on Amazon for $70/piece. I called in to customer service to get someone else sent our way and they told me they don’t even carry z wave chips. I have friends who have been Vivint techs and have told me z wave chips are very common. So... not entirely sure blatantly lied, but not a great way to get our service started.

    Terrible TERRIBLE service. Our unit has not functioned for almost a year. Our alarms randomly go off... Today we had a fire and a burglary at the same time... Yay... The keypad won't accept any input... The system won't connect to the network. We let Vivint know about these issues months and months ago and yet they are still not fixed and all they say is that you CANNOT get out of the contract. COMPLETELY CRIMINAL. If their service is this bad how can they justify taking my money every month. Run!!!! Do not sign up with these guys.

He told me that my contract with current security system would be paid off by Vivint and to notify him when I received this bill. I did. No reply. Contacted the customer support. Explained situation. Told I would receive return phone call. 5 days later no call. Will call them back Monday (today is Friday). After that it’s BBB, FB, Twitter, Google and any other venues to discredit the supposedly award winning company that obviously doesn’t value customers. Get it together. I want phone numbers of CEO's.
