    I am a Vivint customer, satisfied with my service. A salesperson come to my door (salesperson) I refereed my granddaughter. She Lives at **. I pay her bill. Told the salesperson this information. He Said was O.K., By the way she already has a security service, Alliance. I was told they would pay out her contract, I would get free doorbell and months free payment. None of this happened. I have to cancel and try to get all this business straightenen out with Alliance again, and my credit card that I cancelled from Alliance. I Also talked to my neighbors across the street from me praising Vivint they bought and guess what? All I got was a new vivint sign in my YARD. NONE of the promises made to me were fulfilled. I have lost my faith is salespersons. Will keep my service, but never recommend Vivint to anyone.

    While we’re looking for a home, we saw a home that had a Vivint system. We ended up not getting that home, but we got the system. We really liked it when the people that were selling the other home showed it to us. We had a good interaction with their sales reps and they made it very comfortable. They explained everything as detailed as they could and reassured us that Vivint was a good company to go with. We got their doorbell camera, keyless entry, thermostat, two other video cameras, and Touchpad Sky View. We wanted these security features in our home.

    Their installation team worked really quick and went over everything with us to make sure we know how to operate the system. The system is working good so far and although I had a couple of issues, there was nothing that wasn't resolved through their customer service and tech support. They were very easy to talk to and they explained in layman's terms so I was able to fix whatever needs to be done hands on. Then if that doesn’t help, they are able to send a tech. Also, our monthly payment is affordable and the technology in our system is great. We love everything that comes with our system.

    Extremely pleased with our home security system from Vivint. It is one of the best deals for the money out there. The sales and service techs are very knowledgeable and super efficient. Our system was installed and operational within a couple hours. We especially like the ability to monitor and control everything from our smart phones from anywhere. The remote doorbell camera with speaker allows you to engage visitors even if you are not home. The ability to preprogram visitor codes for specific windows of time is really useful especially when paired with the interior cameras to monitor activity... Great for our pet sitter when we are away on vacation. If you are considering a home security system Vivint is the way to go.

    There were several installations with Vivint in the neighborhood and that made me interested. The rep from Vivint was very polite, very considerate, very informative and very professional. He's an employee to emulate. The installation of the equipment went smoothly and the installer was also very professional, very informative and very nice. The features offered in our package was okay, although I was kinda disappointed when my garage door opener was disengaged. I thought I closed it but it was open the entire time and there was no alarm. The pull chain was stuck on the roof of my car. I had a package at the top, so I pulled the pull chain off and disengaged the motor. But other than that, my experience with Vivint was great.

    POOR BUSINESS: I am a new customer and I have paid on time every single month without incident. I thought I had made the right choice to come over to Vivint from ADT but it's looking like I may have made the wrong decision--so sad! Apparently, on Monday July 16th my alarm system sent a single that required an officer to come on site to my home. To this day I have not heard from or seen an officer at my home. If one came out why wouldn't they leave a notice to "document" they had come out to check on my wellbeing. However, that wasn't the case but I'm being charged $60 for the visit. So unfair to me as a customer. I have been referred from one department to the next without resolve. Disappointed!

    Almost a month ago I was approached by a salesman named Brandon who fast talked the process from the beginning to the end to get me to switch from ADT security to Vivint. After telling him that I am not interested in purchasing anything he explained to me that I wouldn't have to buy anything. I let him in and after him lying to me about a whole lot of things like no credit checks would be ran and a few days later I got an alert and my credit was ran. I'm very disappointed in the service I was given and if you get a knock at the door from a Vivint rep don't even answer it and to think I was going to get Solar with them, absolutely NOT. Just because they are having a competition doesn't mean you lie to customers to boost your sales. Then to tell a person they only have 3 days to cancel is Ridiculous!

    We were looking into getting a security system and then Vivint became available to us through a young guy who came to the door selling it. He explained how the product worked. He seemed like a decent person and I was happy with the presentation. The service package was okay and the price was reasonable. Other than being a little longer than I would like to have signed up for, I was happy with it. The installation team then came that afternoon and installed the product. They did everything that we had asked and put everything where we wanted it. We got cameras in our package and it's nice that it monitors on the internet.

    Unfortunately though, the quality of the system has been a piece of crap. We've had nothing but problems with the electronic part of it. The doorbell has always been a problem. We've called multiple times to have it fixed, then it lasts a couple of weeks to a month, and then goes back to what it was doing before. Also the thermostat never really worked properly. Like we had the heat set to 15 degrees while we were away, and when we came back, we changed it back multiple times, and it just always resets back to 15 degrees for some reason. Whenever we get in touch with Vivint they reset it and they take care of it but then it never really works.

    Vivint's representatives were extremely knowledgeable, very kind and personable. I’ve had nothing but good experiences with every one of them, including my neighbor, who is probably their best salesperson. If I have some questions, I can just ask my neighbor. The room where I have DirecTV, Vivint, Spectrum, satellite internet and a couple other things, was so convoluted. There were so many wires and it was frustrating. When the installer came, he went in there and straightened it all out too. It’s not making too many headaches anymore.

    I’m paying about $170 month. There was a bit of an issue about how much I’m paying, but I have four cameras. I plan on going out of the country and I wanna be able to monitor my home from wherever I go. From what I’ve been able to ascertain, Vivint is the best company for that. The system's features are great. However, I wish they would incorporate the whole situation with being able to turn the lights throughout the whole house off and on from wherever you are. If they had that, it would be perfect. But overall, I’m satisfied with the service so far.

    I like Vivint’s doorbell which is very nice and responds well. I’ve been out of the state and traveled around the United States and I can talk to whoever is at the door. It’s great. On the other hand, it came with a motion detector that I didn't know was there and what it does. It didn’t respond to my phone and say that there was motion so that wasn’t good. Then, I ordered another camera that goes along the side of the house.

    At first, I called them a lot of times because the camera didn’t work on the side of the house. I noticed that it took a thousand pictures, but they dropped off after a month. They said I needed the Space Monkey which costs $1500 and takes pictures every two seconds which is not fast. It takes 50 or 70 pictures a day and it doesn’t respond to my phone like the doorbell does. So, when I came home, I had to go through all these pictures. The Space Monkey fixed that in that you looked at the picture in a different way. It has a line at the bottom and then it has little spurs that stick up if there if something happened and you can look at just the side camera.

    They didn’t seem to know too much about that camera. Somebody said that if it was taking a lot of pictures, it was dying and I needed a different one. Then, someone came out to the house and told me that I needed to spend another $150 to make it all work but I didn’t do that. The next one said that I really needed to buy it. So, I would have been happier if they told me everything that I needed right up front when I was buying the things. That’s still an issue and I finally decided not to call anymore and not to get somebody out.

    In addition, I have sensors in two places - my back door and my front door. It says the door is open or closed, but I don’t like that too much because I want to stand the door open. So, they're not necessary. On the other hand, I wish I simply had another doorbell back there because the doorbell clicks on my cameras if there’s somebody on my front porch or if there’s somebody at the front door. In addition, Vivint's people are very nice when I call, nobody says, “No, you again,” and they're nice to work with. Also, the second installer who came was excellent. I’m happy with the doorbell and I would recommend it, but not the motion camera or the camera on the side of my house.

    One day, we were sitting out back when Vivint's sales reps were coming around door-to-door. We weren’t even in the market for the security system but their salesperson did what he needed to do and managed to make us buy it. We’ve had Vivint for a while now and we got their normal package. Their technician was very nice and he took care of everything when he came in. Vivint had to come out this year and change the very first panel they ever put on and it has been working fine since. The system did what it was supposed to do. One time, I set it off unknowingly when I was going to work and the police came to the house. My daughter was at home and sleeping, and they made her show her ID to prove that she lives here. I’m trying to get my sister to get Vivint right now.

    The sales process I had with Vivint went smoothly. However, the installation wasn't that great. Vivint had two people go out. The first guy wasn't prepared to do the whole job. All he did was just fix the doorbell and called it a day. Even the wiring part, I had to go under the house and run the wires because he wasn't fit enough to do it himself. But the second guy who came out to install the other outdoor cameras did a great job.

    I like how everything's supposed to work in the system, but Vivint's system features could be better. I had that buyer's remorse because the system only records movement. It wasn't explained that if I wanted to record the whole time, I would have to purchase an additional DVR. Then, when somebody presses my doorbell, I won't get it for another 30 seconds on my phone. So there's a time delay between me speaking with someone and someone who rang my doorbell. Vivint told me that it was because of my internet speed, but honestly, if it was reliant on the internet speed there should be a hardwire connected instead of wireless. But overall, Vivint is great. It's a good service and it's something that we need in our house, so I like it.

    One of the powerline network adapters failed and needed to be replaced. I called for an appointment. The guy never called nor showed up. They rescheduled for 4 days later. The guy still showed up after the window. No call nor explanation as to why he was late. He never called as was instructed to him per the tech support rep.     The sales rep from Vivint was extremely knowledgeable. He lived in Alaska, which is important to me because we, Alaskans, don't really like companies that hire outsiders to come and do their business here. He also was honest and showed me how the program works and what it could do. So I stuck with him to go ahead and buy the product. I also did my own research in a couple of hours before I confirmed with the rep and Vivint seems to have a lot of good reviews on them. I got the maximum amount of cameras and a thing that lets you know that the door is opening. Those are for my business and not in my home. However, Vivint wouldn't authorize the doorbell camera for me. I actually would've liked to have that one.

    Even so, the installers were awesome. Since it was done that very business day, we went ahead with it. I was getting tired towards the end of the night when they were setting it up, and they were extremely patient with me to help me figure out what was going on. They were professional and cleaned up after themselves. The rep even came back the next week to remind me of some stuff that I had forgotten when the setup team came by.

    The quality of the equipment is great. The camera that I keep in the back is really convenient for my employees. And when I'm back there putting away things, the fact that it talks to me and says the front door's opening is really great, so I can go up to the front again. Even if I'm in a place with poor internet, I'm still able to get some glimpse of what's going on in my store. I've already seen Vivint around a couple of little places that I go to in town but if any of my friends were to set up a security system, I would definitely tell them that they should go with Vivint.

    We signed up for Vivint Security about a year ago. At first, everything seemed to work fine. After a couple months, the doorbell camera stopped working. We tried rebooting the system, but it still is offline. The backyard camera seems to only record clips from someone else's driveway, which is a privacy concern. I tried to contact customer service, but they want to charge us money to fix equipment, that we are paying for, and doesn't work. What a scam!!! So now we are stuck with no doorbell and no cameras and we are still expected to pay our monthly Bill? This is ridiculous! Don't ever go through Vivint for your security needs, because their customer service is abysmal???

    My experience with Vivint started off great and at that time, I thought the rep’s knowledge of the product was good. But after the installation, I started having problems and I learned that he was knowledgeable about some things but not all things. I reached out to him first and he told me that he was registering our system with the sales department. But it was not required and when I found out about it, it had already been registered and we had paid him cash for that. So I went back to the company and they credited me for it.

    I went through a lot of things with Vivint and I was totally dissatisfied. My camera was going out and my thermostat did not work. Since I had Vivint's service, I had to end up putting in another thermostat and changing out my garage door. Vivint was also charging us $50 for a service call even though it was the equipment that had a problem. The whole experience was horrible. So we had the service cut off. They told us that because we bought the equipment, it would work. But it didn't. The camera doesn’t work properly if you don’t have a service. Do not go with Vivint.

I paid to have a system installed that worked up to what was promised. Now if when the part comes it is up to me to do their job.     First was the install, started at 8:30 or so and ended after midnight 12:15-12:30, problem were instant, IE false alarms, back door sensor in-op, motion detector triggered often after putting code in door, should have disarmed alarm, installer came out a couple of times and repaired garage door and rear door sensors. I was told that my 15-20 pound dog would not trigger motion sensor, motion sensor went off again today. Last the camera in doorbell is the slowest I have ever seen, notification should be when it sees motion not when entering house in my opinion.

    When we were approached by agent Alex ** about the alarm system we told him my husband was a disabled veteran and was tax exempt. We offered a copy of the exemption card and he said he would take care of it. We have talked to him on several occasions about the exemption and he says he will take care of it. As far as we can tell nothing has been done. We were having some issues with the system well within the 30 days and asked him to pick it up and discontinue service. He came by the house and we talked about it. He promised to install a wireless panel in one end of the house so we could hear the doorbell. We have called him on this matter and have gotten nowhere. HIs response is -- "Working on it." The system was put in June 21, this is August 27. I think we have been patient long enough. I hope you will be able to take care of this matter soon.

    Vivint had a door-to-door solicitation in our neighborhood and their sales rep went over everything really clearly with us. They showed us everything we were gonna get and it all made sense, so we decided to go with it. The installation was good but the guy had a couple of issues hooking some of the stuff up. He came right back and he worked on it until he got it done, which is something I can appreciate.

    Our system includes two cameras, indoor sensors, a thermostat, and the Echo. We lose connection periodically but Vivint always sends somebody out to fix it so it is not a problem. Once, our doorbell cameras stopped working and when we finally got Vivint on the phone to get it fixed, they wanted to charge us money. But we didn't have anything to do with it getting disconnected and Vivint ended up not charging us. But that was a little frustrating. Still, I've been with them for a year now and the service has been good. I have also recommended them to friends.

    The Vivint system is cost-effective and I like the service and its automation. The installer at my first house in Miami was excellent and I was happy with it. I’m now living in Louisiana and I decided to carry their service over. However, I didn’t like the first technician that had to reinstall the system. But since I was happy with the service, I didn’t really care too much of the technician that was here to help reinstall it, if he was good or bad. It was late in the day when he came to install the sensors and he didn’t wanna be here at night. We have some keypads and he didn’t feel like doing it. He messed up a transformer for my doorbell and a panel for my door, so I told him don’t even worry about it. I called Vivint and then they sent me another guy two days later. It was taken care of and it was more of the tech than the service.

    I’m satisfied with the basic package that I have. We have the doorbell camera and the sensors. A lot of people ask about Vivint and I tell them it’s a good service. I like that I have access to my house through my phone and I’d recommend the service to a friend. In fact, my wife recommended the service to her mother and I recommended it to three of my friends.

    Vivint's service offering and cost made me go with them over other security companies, and I’m very pleased with their features. I had two different experience with their reps and it was during a call versus during on-site. During the call, some of the scheduling has been inconsistent with the dates or times in which the installers have been outsourced to the properties. I had to call back multiple times to confirm that detail and that had been a challenge. But ultimately, it has been done.

    Once on site, the techs were very professional and they provided the support that was needed at that time. But I have to call Vivint back again because there is a battery in the panel that we have been asking to replace twice now. Every time a tech comes out, they seem to fix it temporarily. It worked for 30 days and then we have the issue again. Currently, we’re experiencing the same issue so I now have to schedule someone else to come out. Unfortunately, the time which they’re coming out will impact my work schedule so scheduling is a little difficult. Nevertheless, I’m very pleased with the system features but with any technology, it’s not fail-safe. So, I have to call back to go through rebooting but that seems to be seamless.

    The installer was very professional and polite, my only issue is that none of the equipment was done with wiring inside the walls, they are showing. I cancelled the video portion of the plan because I did not want to have exposed wiring inside my home. The security panel is the only wired equipment I kept on the plan, it looks okay but I would have preferred to have the wires hidden inside the walls.

    Beware! They make you think there is no cost to you for agreeing to get the system. But they actually take a loan out in your name to pay for it. I’ve had to call to reboot my main panel as it was not receiving power. When they installed the doorbell they spliced the wire from my old doorbell/intercom. Now the intercom doesn’t work. They also were unable to install my outdoor cameras the night I got the system due to rain, but after 2.5wks & 2 scheduled appointments, still no outdoor cameras. They did offer a $25 credit. And of course I can’t cancel the service because it’s past the 3 day period. Though the system seems to be good, do your research. Other companies do give you equipment at no charge.

    I’m a building inspector for the Philadelphia Housing Authority and a couple of tenants had the Vivint system. They said it was pretty cool that they could watch the house from not being home. I also got a service package from them and the installer's mannerism was great. But he got to my house at six o’clock and left at ten minutes to two AM. I had everything that Vivint offers like the smoke detectors, the carbon dioxide detectors that call the police, a back door camera, a front door camera, and a living room camera. I also had the cloud thing and the thermostat. But on the first week that the system was installed, there were a lot of glitches and bugs, so they took all the cameras and all that other stuff out.

    So, Vivint's concept is great but I'm not happy with the execution. Now, I’m stuck with a security company that I bought equipment from for the reason that they had the cameras that you can watch out from not being home, yet all I have is a regular alarm system. In the beginning, their reps were excellent but their response shifted a little especially after they saw that the problem has been an ongoing thing and they are not as helpful anymore. I tried to explain to them that it is not my fault and I’m not being a complainer, but if I’m paying for something and I want it to work.

    Trevor of Vivint was good and knew what he was talking about. After a few visits, he convinced us to get the service and they replaced our alarm. We got a camera around the backside from the house to my shop and there was another camera with a doorbell. The system was working well but for some reason, I didn’t always get a dingdong like it was supposed to whenever somebody rang the bell. Sometimes our internet goes down around here, so it could be that or the bad weather. Sometimes my wife would get a dingdong on her cell phone and then it would take another minute and a half before it would come on mine, so the issue could be the iPhone. It was hard to figure out what was going on. I called them and talked to them about it and they sent somebody out to fix it. It might be working a little better as I haven't had enough people come to the door just to test it but so far, so good and we were pretty satisfied with that.

    I canceled my Vivint system 2 days after installation. The motion detector fell off the wall the day after it was installed. The hub used to communicate to the equipment quit working on two days after installation. I sent an email notice of cancellation following the procedure on their website. I received no confirmation of receipt. I had to chat with support to confirm that they received my notice of cancellation (this took about 4 days). We then scheduled a system pull for the following week.

    They provide a 2-hour window for when the technician will arrive. The technician arrived at my house 30 minutes after the end of my 2-hour window. I had already unplugged a few pieces of equipment to make the appointment go faster. The tech says it should only take 30 minutes. He removes all equipment and begins to put back together my deadbolt and doorbell. He says there is a problem and that my doorbell is missing 2 screws so he can't connect it to the wiring of the doorbell. He says a tech is about 10 minutes away that has some so he would go and come back to reinstall the doorbell.

    1.5 hours go by and I call the Customer Loyalty Support. I am on the phone for 45 minutes trying to find the tech and determine what is going on. The technician's boss calls me 20 minutes later saying he talked to the tech and the tech informed him that the deadbolt is missing a bolt and screws and the doorbell is missing some screws. The boss then says he is not coming back as it is not their responsibility to replace missing pieces. He says if I have all the pieces then they can come back to reinstall my original hardware. I said I have all the pieces for the deadbolt and the doorbell is simply missing 2 screws which are in the box from when they removed it, which the tech now has.

    The boss then sends another technician to my house. Mind you this is now 6 hours later from the start of my slot time. The new tech comes in and asks where the hardware is. It is on the ground where the old tech left it. He says he will look at what he has to get everything reinstalled. He replaced my doorbell with a new one, but was unable to reinstall my deadbolt because his boss told him he can't unless I had all the pieces for it. So the tech wanted to reinstall the deadbolt, but then called his boss if that was okay and he said no. They told me if I wanted to buy a new lock they could come back and install it. I said that doesn't help at all since this shouldn't have happened and the missing pieces are in the box that the first tech has.

    The original tech took about 20 minutes to remove everything and probably didn't look carefully in the box with the original deadbolt and doorbell (which he removed initially) to find the missing pieces. What was supposed to be a quick appointment ended up taking the entirety of my day and when you work full-time is unacceptable. I highly do not recommend this company! If they offer you a promotion deal, do not do it! They make it such a pain to cancel that it is not even worth your trouble to try it out in the first place.

    Wires where half stapled and half left hanging. Camera angles are crooked, you have to tilt your head to see the image straight. My siding on my house was broken and the pieces left in the driveway. My siding has lumps all over it where the wires were run. Installer left me two giant power blocks plugged into my only hallway outlet. The hallway is already very narrow and my dogs run by and knock these blocks off the wall. My rear sliding door sensor has already fell off the door which was then chewed by the dog. I have complained about this from the day of the install and have yet to have anyone come look at the mess I was left. They take your money and vanish! Best magic trick out there. Stay away!! I told the salesman when he approached my home I work too hard on my house and expect a good job. I regret doing this!

    I was visited by a sales rep from Vivint at home. He told me Vivint was looking for candidates in the area to install their system to advertise to other homeowners in the neighborhood. In return for advertising the system Vivint would wave the cost of the system and all we would to pay was monitoring fees. I few hours after having our system installed I found out it was all a lie and immediately cancelled. Vivint does not wave the cost of the system. The cost of the system is broken down into monthly payments and added on to your monthly monitoring fee. When the tech came back to uninstall the system, he left holes in walls, staples sticking out walls and staples were left laying on the floor. Beware of this company, if you do business with them get everything in writing including the cancellation policy. You only have 3 days to cancel, salesman told me 2 weeks.

    Installation was a mess and currently awaiting for another technician to come fix problems. Holes in wall where panel and outdoor camera come into house poorly drilled and placed as wires are very noticeable. Wires from garage doors look horrible. Not bundled together and scattered. Ring doorbell chiseled into my house. My guests see that when they arrive at house. Some windows that open and have sensors on them do not fit with window screens, yet some do. Placement for window sensors wasn’t thought out enough. Has to be replaced.

    Front door smart lock says via app it is not closed when closed with app or manually. Not installed correctly. Install guy did not do requested walk thru for system with my husband and walk thru with me was very short and felt rushed. Also he has me do the post installation survey on the phone with company when everything wasn’t even done!

    We requested a glass break sensor in upstairs and we don’t even know if one was placed or not. Installation for system took three visits from the tech and now an additional visit has to be made to fix his problems. My family and I came home early from a trip to get the walk thru as promised by tech but he blew us off. Everything has been a disaster. They billed my credit card for equipment amount even after I had requested and signed papers to finance it. When complained to company they just apologized and promised they would send someone to fix problems. Time and money don’t seem well spent so far.

    A young man in the neighborhood knocked on the door, came in and told us about Vivint. He was misleading because he told us that we wouldn’t be in a contract. He handed me his phone and there was a recording, but I wasn’t paying close enough attention because it said on that recording that there was a contract. However, he told us time and time again that that there was no contract. So, we got stuck to a three-and-a-half-year contract. Vivint said that I agreed to the terms and that there wasn’t anything they could do.

    I have not been satisfied with Vivint since the day I got this system installed. It was one issue after another. It got the system finally somewhat fixed, but I’ve stopped worrying about it. I’m just paying the bill and waiting for the contract to end. They didn’t install the system properly. They installed it where it was low down on the wall and the wires on the doorbell were exposed. Anybody could come in and cut the wires on the doorbell and it would have stopped the camera from working. They were doing a reboot of the system and it got extremely hot, so they had to come out and replace the box on the wall.

    The system goes offline quite often. I called my internet provider and they came out. They did some work because I thought that the internet was weak or it needed something fixed. Vivint came back out and replaced the box and the doorbell. The next day, it was offline again, so I called them about a week after that. I spoke to a young lady on the phone and she had me go through all this stuff with resetting, rebooting, "do this", and "do that". I spent hours on the phone with them on a regular basis going through step-by-step-by-step. Sometimes, the doorbell will record, sometimes it won’t. It depends on what it wants to do that day. We have had false alarms and the police department highly frowned on that.

    Vivint came out and they replaced the system twice. They replaced the doorbell and the lock on the door. They did everything, but the system still isn’t working properly yet Vivint won’t let me out of the contract. My money comes out of my account like clockwork. If they have a customer whose product is not working for them and they have done everything to fix the product, let the customer out of the contract and be done with it. The majority of the service people that come out were very understanding and patient, and did their best to resolve the issue. However, the customer service people didn’t understand what I was trying to explain to them. They don’t know about the system, so they really don’t know how to walk me through to fix the system if it is fixable. Don't go with Vivint.

    We’ve tried different security companies in the past and we weren’t happy with them. Then a Vivint rep came by and offered us their system for free and told us we could try it out. We liked it and and we've had them for 13 years now. We've stuck with the package that we got and we’ve been happy with the system, even if we haven't done any upgrades. If there was something that was not right, Vivint called us and let us know. If there was an alarm that went off somewhere with one of the sensors, they notified us.

    The Vivint system that we have is great and I love it. We speak with the reps through our panel and I like that. We had a guy come out last year because we were having a problem with the sensor on our door. He fixed that and we haven’t had any more issues. The system notifies me when the kids come home from school, so I know they’re in the house. If anybody opens the door or if the door is not closed all the way, it notifies us too. We might be looking into an upgrade with the camera later on, though, as the kids are now teenagers and I would also suggest that to my friends if they want it.

    The Vivint rep who came to my house was very friendly and professional and I liked the idea of being able to do the functions of the security system on my cellphone. Before, I had to get up and go downstairs to put the heater on in the winter time. Now, I can just stay in bed and put the heater on. We can answer the doorbell through our cellphones too. Yesterday, we were eating dinner and somebody rang the doorbell and I was able to answer his questions by sitting there without going to the door and unlocking it as I can see him on my cellphone.

    Vivint hasn’t been that good though. When it works, it works well but it doesn’t work all the time. We've called in several times and complained about the system not working. For a long time, I put the heater on in the morning and then there's a note saying that it didn’t work and to try it again. Sometimes we have to try it about six times before we get it to start. Also, in my account with Vivint, my monthly billing is not the same all the time and I get two of them. I can understand that one is a loan but they're not all the same. There's $59.57 or $59.95 one, and then the next time will be $52. Nonetheless, we like the system and I would recommend it to a friend.

    Started using Vivint because I'm a woman living alone in a big city. Stopped using them because it was a pain in the **. For about 2 years I haven't used their security system but still getting charged $60 a month. That's a wasted $1,440. I called them a month ago wanting to see if I could cancel the service. The woman looked into my account and told me I was on a month to month service contract and canceled my account for me. Then she sent me a letter of cancellation. I got charged again the next month and so I called again. Talking to a different woman she said that my contract still wasn't up and that my account was never canceled. I even forwarded her the letter of cancellation that was emailed to me. If you send a letter of cancellation you need to honor it. I wouldn't be so mad if the first woman that talked to me had told me I was still under contract and sent me proof. I hate Vivint. Don't use Vivint.

    Originally I purchased a home security system from another company. One month later, I got a called from a representative from giving stating that they purchased the company and now my service would be the same but with a new name. They needed to update information. That was how they got me to switch to them. Of course nobody in the company is aware of this behavior going on.

    I canceled service last month by calling and speaking to a representative. They said I had to send it in an email. I did it that same day. One month later I get a bill. I called and of course they never received my email. Transferred me to John in customer loyalty and he said I had to send another email but still pay the bill. He was rude and hung up on me. Worst company ever. Do yourself a favor and never get this company. The equipment doesn't work half the time and they are very deceiving.

    The Vivint machine was on for quite a while because nobody told me how to turn it off and I had it on a long time going, “Beep, beep, beep,” then stopping and doing it again and again. I would rather go without the system than have that noise. The next morning, I called and the Vivint reps told me how to turn it off and, apparently, the first guy didn’t know how to. Somehow, Vivint got the system fixed by me pushing things and it seemed to be working. However, when I put it on at night, it says things to begin with that it didn’t use to so I'm not 100% sure about it. But their reps are pretty easy to get a hold of and I feel very good about them.

    CenturyLink had a program that used Vivint. I called Vivint and ended up with a better one. Their reps knew what they were talking about and seemed to be a little more on the ball. The installation team was good, and the features included in my package are good as well. There were some equipment that didn’t have fresh batteries in them and a couple of times the alarm went off in the middle of the night, but I enjoy my Vivint system.     We were putting together our home system and they recommended Vivint through Best Buy. We have it in our residence and place of business and we have the motion detectors, the cameras, the doorbell, and the door sensors. Also, we added on the lights and the remote light modules. That was pretty simple because we bought the adaptor separately. And then, we bought the light bulbs, so that was a good bonus with that package. I wished we had it with the package, but I’m glad that I got it separately. A really good team came out and installed everything. They were very informative and very helpful. And to this day, they still come out if we need them and they’ve been very responsive. They've been really good about any false alarms or issues.

    At work, the service has been superb. But because we live in a rural area up in the hills, the satellite service is not the best at my residence. So, we’re constantly having connectivity issues. I've reached out several times but because of the signal strength, there’s no guarantee and the cameras will go offline and online. It’s just something we’re dealing with and I'm trying to figure out maybe about a Wi-Fi extender. We have some construction going on too, so I’m just trying to give it some time. Once everything is back to normal because I don’t wanna have them to keep coming out and it keeps going off because of the construction, I'm gonna do a thorough survey and make sure that the signal strength is strong and do everything that we need to do on our end. I highly recommend Vivint.

    After reading many positive reviews, I decided to give Vivint a try for my home security needs. They are very pricey, but I was going to give them a chance. After placing a very hefty order with them, including almost $2,300 worth of equipment, they promptly showed up to complete the install almost 1 hour late. They couldn’t finish the install so the techs told us they would be back the following Monday to finish. They showed up as they said they would, but they ended up leaving without going over the order first. Multiple items were not installed. Minutes after the tech left, I called him and he said he would be right back to install them.

    Two weeks later, three appointments set up through Customer Service and salesman and no equipment ever showed up. I called to cancel. A different tech showed up a few days later, uninstalled the equipment, and informed us of why our order was never completed. He said the company, in this area, has been out of stock with these pieces of equipment for over 2 months. Salesman, three different individuals plus a virtual chat assistance all with customer assistance, as well the four techs and one “manager” that came to install our equipment all had the chance to tell us that it would be delayed to get the rest of our equipment. They failed to. Instead, they lied and told us what we wanted to hear - "Ok, sorry about that, we will get that finished up right away!" Needless to say the uninstallation has been completed and our complete contract has been cancelled.

    On Aug. 4 I had a Vivint smart home security system installed and everything was great for the first couple of days. Then on Aug. 9 I had an appointment scheduled to have 2 outdoor cameras installed along with a DVR for 24/7 monitoring. I took the day off work so the technician could come and install everything and go over how it works with me. The technician never showed up. I contacted vivint to tell them how displeased I was and to cancel the camera order. They basicly blew me off, but they did comp 1 month monitoring fee. Since then everything has gotten worse.

    I went to Best Buy the next week to look at the Vivint products but was told they are no longer in partnership with vivint, even though the sales person told me if I ever had a question or if I wanted to add a product I could just go there. The sales person just sat in my house and lied to my face about this and this was a big selling point for me. Now my doorbell camera has become pretty much useless. It only detects motion when it wants to, when you try to ring the doorbell it rarely does anything, and it goes offline whenever it wants to, even though the wifi works fine.

    I have gotten in contact with a lady at vivint and told her how displeased I am with the camera, the lack of service, and the lies on Aug. 17. I talked with her that morning and I told her this is just too many problems to be having in less than a months time and that I just wanted to be done with vivint. She told me she was going to see what she could do and contact me later that afternoon on the 17th. After 2 emails, 2 phone calls, and a voicemail, here it is Tuesday Aug. 21, and I have yet to hear back from her.

    On Monday I finally got fed up with the vivint doorbell camera and put my Ring doorbell camera back up. The Ring camera works perfectly. It was a nice concept to have everything with one system, but the vivint doorbell was just too unreliable. I am very disappointed with vivint and just want to be done with them, all in less than a month.

    We moved our Vivint system when we moved from Colorado to Idaho. I have a whole house system and I have fire protection, CO protection and security protection. I have the keypad, door locks, cameras and doorbell camera as well. Their field representative was great. He did a great job of putting it in and his interactions were really good and helpful. He was very active in teaching us how to use the system when we first put it in. The installation team was even better. They were quick, efficient and they knew what they were doing. However, when we put the system in, we had a minor problem with the doorbell. I tried to get the installer to come back, but they were so busy that they scheduled me a month out to have a return visit. I thought that was kinda strange that I had to wait that long for a security system.

    Another time, the installer came through the neighborhood while he was going home from work. He saw that there was a ticket for me in his book and he stopped and asked what the problem was. I told him and he fixed it and he wasn’t here 10 minutes. He went out of his way to make sure that I was taken care of even though it was two weeks before his due date to come back and do it. In the last six years, I have had two real alarms and Vivint handled them extremely well. The service and response that I got were very good. I've already referred two people to this company.

    I have not had my Smart Home Security up and running too long yet, but overall, I think it is pretty awesome. I had some issues in the beginning which I expressed to the salesman when he returned the next day to check in on us (greatly appreciated that). I had footage recorded of my son going to the porch and bringing the mail inside yet no footage of the mail being dropped off. I was informed that the system may still be registering its constant surroundings and adjusting and to let them know if it continued. I have not had any major issues since then.

    The system brings a lot of comfort to me and my family, and seeing our neighbors have the system installed brings even more comfort to the block. I can’t give this 5 starts at the moment, but it’s close. I have smart deadbolt locks installed as well, and the garage pops up as being "offline" sometimes and says it is unlocked when in fact it is locked. We figure that is due to the distance and the signal being spotty. But of course those simple mishaps can bring more discomfort than anything.

They have to run some system diagnostics with me on the phone as if I installed it or have time to do their job.

    I liked what the representative from Vivint presented when he knocked on my front door. I got three cameras and a doorbell, which were what I wanted. They put in a few door sensors and a motion detector, too. The installation went fine and smoothly. All the technicians who came to work on the system were good, but they came too much. Then, when I tried calling in a problem, the phone technician tried to fix it over the phone but it never worked. Every time I would call, it required them to send a technician out. Before I had Vivint, I had AT&T and I did not have the doorbell but it was very reliable. Although it is a lot of trouble, I still like the security of the Vivint system.

    The technician that came out was not knowledge or lacked effort as he complained about the install for the new system being more difficult. He informed me that no wires could be hidden in the walls for exterior cameras. The technician also did not fill in the hole in the wall where the wiring from the exterior camera comes in. The quality of the outdoor camera is not a good picture. My nest thermostat was installed improperly and all the extra materials from the nest box were taken, so I had to pay for additional pieces such as a metal plate and installation for the HVAC person to properly install my nest. During the setup portion of the order he made many errors by adding devices accidentally. Thankfully I caught all errors. Just an overall bad experience.

Also, the agent lied to me that the video records non stop and stores the image for up to 30 days, while in reality, it does not record on the clock. It only records when there is movements, and for 30 seconds only. This is just ridiculous, especially when you tell someone that you need the camera to monitor activities inside your home. What can you really see for 30 seconds?

    At the initial install, our tech (Martell) seemed to do a good job and left his number to call with any questions or concerns. We have called him back 3 times and left messages with no response back. No one on the phone has properly explained how the Nest ties in with the thermostat or the fans. I have been in a car accident and recovering at home. I have requested a tech to come out and walk me through some of the issues and Vivint has refused to do this.     We purchased a house with Vivint equipment in it, so instead of somebody messing up my house and taking stuff out, I figured I’d just give them a try. Talking to everybody there seemed all right. However, it’s been basically just a hair over a year that we’ve actually had the system active and I’ve had about seven service calls to the house. And so far, I’m still not fully satisfied with the equipment not working the way it needs to.

    My system includes a front door lock on it. I also got a sensor on the front and back door, but I’ve had trouble with sensors going out, as far as the system not working correctly. Nobody's ever been able to get my garage door to operate with the system too. Although Vivint's system is not extremely expensive, I don’t even know what we’re paying for right now. I wanna put two outside cameras on the house, but if I can’t get everything else to work the way it needs to, why should I spend extra money to get cameras when they’re probably not gonna work right either? At this point, I’m tired of picking up the phone and calling. Being a 100% medically disabled vet, I can go through ADT and get the equipment put in the house for free. But then, I’ve heard people say they’re not that great either, so I’m almost at the point of not having a security system.

    There should be a more prominent sound with the notifications. If there is a system outage for any reason, notify the customer immediately. My system was out for about two hours and I didn't know that I wasn't protected. Vivint did not explain the outage.     First of all the installer couldn't get everything installed on the first day, he was here for over 4 hours, so he had to come back 4 days later and finish. On that first day he said the new lock wouldn't fit on my door and I needed to hire a locksmith to get it to work. I had someone come out, to show this guy that the lock just needed to be twisted to fit. I had to pay money for this, that Vivint will not reimburse me for. Then several of the sensors didn't work all the time. Half the time it said my garage doors were open, when they weren't. Made it difficult to set the alarm. The installer came back out, replaced the sensors and they do seem to be working now. The doorbell stopped working, still won't work even after the installer came out.

    Called customer service twice on these 2 problems before getting the installer back out, and that's an experience in and of itself. Both people I talked to were friendly, but not very helpful. One lady first told me it would take about 10 minutes, and asked if I had that much time. I said yes, and finally after 40 minutes of her trying to fix the problem she decided the installer could take a look at it. She kept telling me to do something, and I kept telling her it wasn't working. She wouldn't give up on it, no matter how many times I told her it wasn't working. If the doorbell ever gets fixed, maybe I'll rate the service higher since everything else has now been working (for 2 days). As of right now, I would never recommend this to anyone else.

    Had to schedule the install twice, since the first installer didn’t want to work OT. I guess it would take too long to install the cameras I wanted in front and back. The second install date was a little odd too but better. Schedule early but he got a flat tire and came late. Also, it seem none of the techs come with all the equipment needed in case a customer wants to delete or add something not on the invoice. Especially if the customer changes his mind on something he may want to add. But the Customer Service was much better this time from the tech. The only other thing I would suggest is go a bit slower on how to use the new security system. I realize they label almost everything as a window or slider. But had no idea to which window the system was referring to?

    I have everything included with our Vivint service package -- the security camera, the features for the heating system, and carbon monoxide detectors. The sales reps were nice and helpful and the installers were fine. However, I’ve had more than enough of my share of issues with the system, from the cameras not working to the doorbell not working to not being able to see the cameras too. I haven’t really been 100% satisfied at all ‘cause if something goes wrong I gotta be at home to call, and I spent way too many of my hours on the phone with Vivint as far as I’m concerned.

    One particular day, they came in to fix the system and I didn’t realize that the guy did not hook up my cloud. Somebody kicked my garage door and I wasn’t able to see it because it wasn’t recording. My experience with Vivint has been rocky and on and off, although I'm satisfied when the system is fully working. The whole point is to be secure and feel safe, but when I don’t know if my system is gonna be working properly, that gives me no peace of mind.

    We tried cancelling our service 2 yrs ago when we moved into our new house. At the time, they told us that we would have to buy out our contract which had another 2 yrs to go on it and that would have been $2000+. We didn’t have that since we just moved so we either had to pay them and not have it set up or pay them and have it set up. So, we reluctantly set it up since we would be paying them either way.

    Here we are, 2 yrs later calling to cancel AGAIN and they said because we agreed to have it set up we agreed to stay with them until 2020. If I called to cancel why would I agree to extend it?!?! So we asked for a supervisor to talk to and never got one. They said they would sent an email to some other department to pull up a tape of our conversation. Save yourself time and anguish...DO NOT USE VIVINT HOME SECURITY! Please listen to these reviews. We didn’t and are regretting that decision. We are now waiting “72 hrs” to hear the tape showing we agreed to this bs. That’s 72 hrs for them to edit. There really should be a zero star option for this company.

The camera in the front has worked very little since I got it in January. One particular incident was when I was out of the country, I checked my phone and the camera was out. It was out from February to May and now, it’s out again. Last night, I was on the phone until almost 10 o’clock with a technician, and he was telling me what to do over the phone. However, because I’m an electronics person, I told him that there was a problem with the camera itself as the electricity is getting to it. So, they need to replace the camera.

    When I said that, he told me that they’ll send someone out. But then he told me that it will be around the 9th of September which is another two weeks. I told them that the problem has been going on since February and if somebody cannot get out by Saturday to fix it, I’ll have somebody remove it off my house. Then, I’ll find a company that will give me service and will be happy to have my money. Nobody offered to compensate me and Vivint still wants my money, but they don’t wanna provide me with proper service. Right now, the only thing I have going is the alarm.

    When I bought the house, there was a Vivint sign in front, so I thought Vivint already had a security system installed in the house. But then, it wasn’t a Vivint system, so they had to re-change everything. Right now, I have a couple of motion detectors, break glass detectors, smoke detectors, freeze and heat detectors, and one of those fancy camera doorbells. I also have window sensors on all the base windows, and then the garage door.

    Vivint's customer service has been exceptional. There have been false alarms and I appreciate them calling me to ask if everything's okay and if they need to call the police. But there was one incident wherein the motion sensor of my kitchen went up and I wasn’t around home, so I didn't know what actually went on. When I got home, there was nothing missing, the door wasn’t kicked in, and nothing else was on the property, so I have no clue what could have set off that sensor.

    Then with the batteries, I had replaced both of the heat, smoke, and freeze detectors’ that apparently just went bad and quit working. On the panel, it said they weren’t working and then Vivint's reps couldn’t figure it out as well. They did troubleshoot on their end and replaced all the batteries and equipment, but they still wouldn’t work, so they just sent me new ones. The installation was done under a year and they couldn’t figure out why their systems and panels went bad. Still, Vivint is a decent security system and is comparable to other systems. Theirs is a little more expensive, but my experience with them has been all right.

    I have been charged for the past 4 years after I cancelled of my policy because of relocation. I get it that I should have been checking my bank statements but even when I cancelled AGAIN they still took monthly payments from my account. The first time I cancelled it was not explained to me that an email was required to cancel. The second time... a long conversation on the phone and an email and they still continued to take payments from my account. When is it going to be enough!?!?     Sick and tired of being on the phone with their tech support. My doorbell camera and electronic door lock are 20 feet away from each other. Yet they don’t communicate properly. Spent over 10 hours on phone. So much new and replaced equipment. Doorbell rarely picks up video of movement. Electronic door lock rarely works correctly. Over it. Absolute garbage. Don’t buy into their lies. Wouldn’t wish this system on my worst enemy.

    I decided to go with Vivint when my house got broke in. The people who did that stole all of my TVs except my 73-inch, my computer, and a $360 purse. I had a nice experience with the lady from Vivint who came and did the installation. With their system, I can set my alarm and also see if somebody’s trying to get in. When the alarm goes off, their reps always call me and ask if there is anything that they can do. They’re very courteous people.

    I used to be able to lift my doors from wherever I was, but when they gave me a new system, it wouldn’t do that, so they gave me a camera, which is by the door of my garage. One night, one of the customizations stopped working and I called them. They took a while to come here. Someone was supposed to come that day, but he didn’t come and didn’t call. Nevertheless, they installed a new one, and I like it. I love Vivint and would recommend them to others.

    I had a rep from Vivint who was really terrible and I hanged up on them. There was a technical problem and they didn't know what they were doing. I got a hold of another sales rep and they solved the problem. So, I was happy again. I have Vivint for a year now and so far, I am very much satisfied with their service. But I was disappointed that when I was trying to get the Nest thermostat, they said that that couldn't happen. Their service rep could not do it over the phone. Other than that, I like Vivint. I feel safer with them and I recommended three people to them so far.

    The installation was done, I was handed a couple of keys and they left. There was no talk about rekeying the front door. I called the following day and the installer came back to rekey. He didn't test and left, took the keys. Called customer service, they told me the installer are not locksmiths but they would send someone to replace the lock and give me keys to call a locksmith. They did not show or call. Not happy.

    System is very basic, same as what you can buy at Lowe's or Home Depot, basically it's a downgrade from ADT, Brinks (LiveWatch), SimpliSafe, and Samsung Smart Home. They advertise as if their high end and up to date on the technology, ALL a lie and fake sales pitch. I know cause I've tried all of them and in my opinion, Vivint is the lowest... So I canceled service and now I'm writing this review cause it's been 3 weeks and still haven't received my $715 refund on the minimal equipment that I was sold. Way more expensive than the 4 I mentioned above, and Vivint had the least parts in the package. Vivint is too new and the setup is below standards, the equipment is basic, the APP needs a lot of work. Save the headache and go with any other experienced reputable company other than Vivint.
