The tech did an excellent job. He tended to all the details and he did a great job of installing all the equipment and answering all our questions. He didn’t leave until we understood how to work the system. We feel confident that with Vivint monitoring our home, we will be able to feel safe and secure. I also like all the new technology features in the new equipment that replaced the older equipment. Thanks.

It was a Good service, very helpful and professional. A little technical problem with the door and the app. Hopefully that gets resolved soon. Matt was very patient with the equipment set up and he explained things to me.

I was very pleased with the installation process and my installer. He was very cordial and informative. I would recommend the service to friends and family. He also told me what to do if something went wrong with the box in the house.

It’s a Great security system. Easy to use. The App is awesome, installer was professional and fast at the installation, he recommended a few additional things that I would have never thought of which was great and really appreciated a water sensor and glass break sensors in certain areas.

I don't think that they are a bad company, and I don't think that they are out to consciously rip people off. However, my service never really worked the way I thought it should. I purchased $1000 of equipment up front, so I was able to do a month to month deal. Their support is weak at best, and once they think you want to cancel, they toss out several options if you sign up for a 24 or 36 month contract. Once I told them that I didn't want any contract, but to just get out of my month to month deal, they seemed a lot less helpful. I think that the equipment is good, they just need to work out some bugs. I'm writing off $1000 but it is much less than 36 or 60 months of paying for something that doesn't work like I think it should.

I've had Vivint since they were APX Alarm. All the sales people and the install people were great. Every time I had a false alarm, they've been right on top of it. The guys that came in were great too. They switched my panel and replaced all my batteries and wireless devices. The system features have been great as well. I use my thermostat all the time and the Alarm.com, the app I used to go through wirelessly, has been flawless. Vivint has been a great company.

I signed up with Vivint as the cameras and the whole system set up was the best. I already had a system before I went to them and Vivint was efficient. We had a good friend of mine and I told him to get them.

I have four cameras, a doorbell, a thermostat and the system for operating everything via my phone from Vivint and I’ve been with them for about two years now. The panel and some camera haven’t been working properly for about a year though but they’ve been working well now for at least six months. Their techs were very helpful and patient and the customer service was excellent. I’m pretty satisfied overall with Vivint.

The Vivint sales rep was great and he answered everything. Plus, if we had any problems, he gave us the number to call. The installer was good too and when we called to have something fixed, Vivint didn't hesitate, the same guy came back out. We’ve been with Vivint for almost three years now and it gave me relief from my anxiety.

I've had my service for about a year, and so far have not had a single month where everything worked. My wall unit would never connect to my home internet, so they had to install a Linksys modem to generate a separate signal. The wall unit frequently loses connection (2-3 time's a month), and often I have to call to get it working. My cameras or doorbell also frequently go offline and have to be reinstalled, my window sensors fall off and have to be glued back on. My wall unit frequently will not charge, my glass break sensor goes off for anything (airsoft gun, soldering iron, elliptical, something falling on the floor). My fire detector went off when my heat came on for the first time and wouldn't (in the middle of the night) go off until I called in, and now my smart lock has gone out.
They had the replacement on back order for weeks, then sent me the wrong replacement and wouldn't switch it out until I emailed pictures to prove what they sent, and charged me shipping for the wrong item, the return, and the replacement! Each time there is an issue I have to spend an hour on the phone. So far, the only alerts have been false alarms or the unit refusing to charge and calling me to tell me. Now they Want $2,300 to cancel my service. Have used SimpliSafe at my vacation rental and not had a single problem in two years. Plus it's half the cost, and alerts me, instead of security or police, so I avoid false alarms. Would NEVER order this again, and will cancel my service as soon as I can do so without paying for the privilege.

I have been having problems with the cameras since day 1. The go on and off line as they see fit. The day I wanted to use my alarm system for the camera clips for police assistance they were offline. I have had so many technicians come out it’s a shame. They will not allow you to break the contract and only gives a few dollars for all of the hassle. I am on the phone with customer service for hours.

On November 30, I got contact with Vivint security to inquire about their product and services. Spoke to one of their agents, Alex and he arranged for a date and time to send someone to come out to my home for evaluation (didn't tell me to install the system). He asked for a deposit and we made the appointment for December 5. I cancelled the appointment three days later on December 2 and was assured that the refund will be made at that time. I called again on December 5 and spoke to Thad and was assured that credit will be before December 11. I called again and spoke to same person, Thad on December 12 and he will re-issue the credit. Today is December 15 and no credit. DO NOT give your credit card for deposit for making an appointment for home visit for estimate.

Worst decision to go with Vivint. I been having issues since the day I got the product. I haven’t even had two weeks with the system and it’s been detecting false alarms, cops showed up twice, my cameras shutting on and off whenever it feels like it. Oh not to mention the tech who came out to install my equipment can’t drill a straight hole and ruin two of my doors and my door bell! I had two tech come out already and none of them seem to get it right. I call to get my equipment install and they don’t think it’s a priority to fix my issues. Looking to switch company anytime now!!! Worst service ever.

Somebody from Vivint was in the area going around for a neighborhood visit. He was very was good and after speaking with him, we selected the doorbell home monitoring as part of the service package from them. The techs were knowledgeable and the installation went well. However, looking at some other available services now, the cost of Vivint's system was on the high side.

A friend recommended Vivint to me. Their salesman was real nice and friendly. He informed me about the device and what it does. He explained the process well and I ended up going with them. He was very open and upfront and he did a really good job. If there's a problem, they’ll come out and fix it. I like the system. It’s real nice. I already recommended it to a couple of my friends and I would recommended it to a couple of my family members.

A real close friend of mine had Vivint service and she was telling me about it so I went ahead and tried them. They gave me the opportunity to pick and choose the features that I wanted. However, the reps were not knowledgeable enough about the equipment or how the pricing works. When I first signed up with them, I was quoted one price over the internet and the day before they do the service, they quoted me a different price, and when it was installed, I was given a different price. I was given several different prices and when I called customer service, they do not understand how to deal with the billing portion.
When the installers did the installation, there were extra parts that they were asking me personally for like power strips, etc. I would’ve thought that if you’re coming to install your equipment in my house, you should've had that stuff with you and you shouldn’t be using my stuff. And they didn’t even clean up after so I had to do a lot of the cleaning. I don’t like Vivint and I would tell my friends to search for something else and not to let them be their first choice because my experience with them was not good. If I had the opportunity to go with another provider, I would.

There was a basic package with Vivint with the doorbell video, motion detector and the control panel. They also gave me four sensors that you stick on the window. I also added on the Smart Lock for the front door. The sales people were really good, responsive and hardworking. I dealt with the contractors, that was the installation team, and they were very good. The Cloud service works alright and the software interface is good. It's very simple I don't have to worry about it. It's $50 a month and I'm okay with it.

I love my new home security system. I have my 89 year old father living with my sister and the new system gives us peace of mind. It is easy to use the apps and I love how simple it is to understand. So glad I went ahead with this system!

Rep on phone noted I could used my old motion detectors and save money. Tech came to my house, without even looking at motion sensors, noted they could not be used. Had to purchase new ones from him. Tech wanted to place my panel in my hallway door because he did not want to do the extra work and fish the wiring behind my wall. Luckily another tech came and was able to place where I wanted and where the other tech said it could not be done.
I have been on the phone numerous times since installment trying to get the new sensors out and have my old motion sensors linked. After multiple calls, a tech was scheduled to come this Tuesday 12/11 between 4-8. So I had to leave work early to meet him, he never showed up. I got a text message around 7:15 cancelling. I called and they rescheduled, so now I have to take off or leave work early for the third time because the original tech did not do his job. I have only had Vivint since 11/30 and I am totally frustrated and disgusted with the company as a whole.

Service very good. Personnel top notch. Did required installation. Gave instructions and was on their way. I had to call and have someone one return to replace batteries. This was done and everything was good. I would recommend this service.

I was using ADT then I heard of Vivint through a colleague. Vivint was cheaper and it had better technology. I switched and got door locks, video monitoring and cameras. The service is pretty good but like technology, it's a little finicky. It doesn't always work. The cameras are offline a lot of times and it can take a long time to get the video feedback. Similarly, not everything worked when the team came for the installation, like one of my garage openers. The team was very good but they couldn't get it to work. I have two garage doors and only one opener works. When I call in though, we basically just reboot the system to get the equipment to work again, and the reps have all been good, real nice and helpful.

We ordered 3 door keypads. 2 of them have to have their batteries changed every other day. In 2 weeks I have had to put $50 worth of batteries in them. We already replaced one because of “communication” issues and even that plus the battery issue still persists.

Door lock keypad motor not working. Called 2 weeks ago and still no lock. Order has been cancelled 3x for unknown reasons per rep on phone. I received a package label said door lock but when I opened it all that was in the box was Vivint sign and I received email, "Send faulty equipment back." Ummm how am I suppose to do that if I can't even get part I need? 2 weeks 2 days still no door lock and every time I call, “Yes sir your item is being expedited overnight. No need to worry about shipping payment just got drafted today.” (Ya great customer satisfaction!) Never receive item tracking # or anything but, "Yes sir your item is being overnighted." Vivint is a waste of money due to their customer service. If anyone is listening, I would just like to get out if any way Vivint will cancel due to their lack of action and trust me I'm being nice, they sure can take their monthly bill but my home is not being protected.

Edgar made the whole process so easy. The only thing I would mention would be the term to rekey. When I hear rekey, I think of getting a new key not redoing my existing ones. I would also add an adopt a signature for the signing process. Thanks!

I was not happy with the way that the installers were doing things because I told them that my husband and I didn’t have time for them to install the Vivint system. We had somewhere we had to be and they told me that we had to wait, so we canceled what we were gonna do because they would not leave. We’ve had Vivint for almost three years and we’ve had to call customer service all the time because we’ve had lots of problems with the system, but my interactions with the reps have been good most of the time.
Ever since they put the system in, we've had had troubles with it. The alarm system was going off for many reasons and they couldn’t shut it down. One time it set off for three hours and they couldn’t shut it down. We also couldn’t shut it down. It set off all of the smoke alarms and we had to get the Fire Department out with ladders to remove all the smoke alarms. It cost me $350 to put them back in. I thought that it was the worst thing ever, but Vivint finally decided to put a new panel in and they took the old one out, and so far, so good. We’ve not had any troubles with it since.
Now, I love it. If I’m away from home and if somebody comes up to my door, I hear it. I can look and see. If we go out of town, we put the alarm on. I’m gonna have to ask Vivint if they have more options on the system now because I like all the things that we can do. I’ve talked to a really good friend of mine and they never have had any problems with their Vivint system. Vivint has been really prompt to call the police or whatever they need to do. We had a bad experience initially, but we’ve got it all smoothened out now.

The installation team did a good job. They forgot to put back in the little metal plate on the door, but it was nothing critical. We’ve had Vivint's security system for a little over a year now and our sense of security has definitely been better. There have been little glitches here and there but the Vivint team has been helpful. We had some cameras go out and then we have to reboot the panel because the internal battery gets low but customer service has been fine working through those issues. The system has gone off and their response time has been good. Still, I wish they would improve the camera sensitivity because it's really sensitive. Sometimes a shadow will trigger the alarm. Nevertheless, I would recommend Vivint to friends if they were looking for something for security.

Forget about their product, at the end of the day what you want is a company that will take care of you when there is an issue. They lied at sign up and 6 months later I’m still emailing and calling their incompetent support team. It’s a nightmare- spare yourself.

I looked up to see what was the best option and Vivint came out pretty high. Plus the special offer that they gave us was a good deal. The gentleman I dealt with was also very helpful, patient and articulate. He explained everything clearly and he did everything. He was very good. The installers were good too. They were quick but they took their time to explain everything. Although there was an issue with one of the equipment, they came back two days later and completed the installation.
However, they weren't able to connect our front door lock to the system even though it's compatible. When I spoke to other homeowners in my community who have Vivint, that's something Vivint did for them but Vivint didn't do for me. When I asked Vivint about it, they said they were going to secure it. I had to call yesterday to have them help me connect the lock to the system in order for me to be able to control it from the control panel. I also had issues with two of my cameras and we were able to fix all of those, including being able to install the lock to the system.

Vivint's sales rep was persistent. He was a young college kid trying to make money. I got their system and interacted well with their techs who came out during installation. Since then, we've liked that we can arm, disarm, lock and unlock our system from our phone. However, I had to call once because they didn't put our garage door sensor on. Their reps were decent and sent someone out quickly. Though Vivint goes offline a lot and that irritates us, their system itself is okay and I'd recommend them.

The Tech that installed the system Vincent ** did a great job and I would recommend his service to anyone. He was able to answer all of our questions and help provide valuable recommendations on equipment placement. He was also made sure clean any mess that was left from drilling in the wall.

Doorbell camera has not worked properly since it was installed. We've had it re-set 2 times and a different tech come out and tell us the DVR was the only way to fix the problem. I called customer service and got the doorbell replaced and still having the same problem. A DVR has been ordered and I hope DVR fixes the problem.

Glass sensor very sensitive, if I drop a knife, it goes off. Also connection online is always failing, so would love to track our home from a distance, but says disconnected. Other than that, we love our smart home... thank you!

At the time we were looking for a home security company, Vivint had more features than other providers. For instance, most of the other brands have the doorbell but Vivint had an outdoor camera and I was able to monitor from my phone. I got their system and when it was set up, everything was good. The installer has been great and he gave me his personal cell phone number and told me to call anytime. I called a couple of times in the beginning when I had problems and he came out and showed me what to do and fixed it for me.
But I was hoping to see consistency with Vivint. My settings are always the same and they don't change but sometimes, the doorbell camera won't detect somebody coming. Then other times, it detects when the sun moves in that direction and there is a shadow. Also, my outdoor camera didn't work for three months with detecting somebody, and then one day, it just started working.
The app on the phone isn't always good, too and doesn't always function correctly. When I lock the doors from my phone sometimes it shows that a door is not locking and that it failed. And then when I come home it's locked. It also shows random things like saying my garage door is open when it's not. I also wanted to get the garage door open adapter but for some reason, the one Vivint had wasn't compatible with my garage door opener so that was a bummer. Still, I'm happy with Vivint.

I knew about Vivint through Best Buy. The cameras, the doorbell functionality and the overall package appealed to me. The sales rep, George, in Fort Worth, Texas, is great. When I bought the cameras for the first location, I was told that had I waited three weeks, and this is after I bought them and they were installed, that I could have gotten an upgrade. When the installer came in I had to buy a couple more cameras, and then I already had the older model cameras, so I escalated that.
When I started having communications with this region manager guy, he said, "We'll take care of you. We'll credit you back for two cameras. We're gonna make this right." But he never did. I called him three times and he never called back. I went in the store, talked to George, George escalated to him three times and it never got resolved. So I hated the service and I was going to cancel it. I put it in two properties that I own, and the service was terrible whether it’s online, over the phone and face-to-face. There were lots of misinformation, maybe because I dealt with a third party. I hope that they can get it straightened out on their end.
When they switched over to what I understand to be now Vivint-employed installer, things has gotten a lot better. But they want you to be a key operator for them at your house. They would say, "Go check this, go check that." One time, I was stupid enough to play this game with them. Two hours later, I've been outdoors, on my ladder, looking at six of my cameras -- unplugging them and plugging them back in. Nothing worked.
When I buy this stuff, I expect it to be turnkey and self-maintaining. And when something falls apart or needs assistance, the provider takes ownership with that and makes it a convenience to me instead of a hindrance. So whenever there's generally a technical issue that comes up, like I had one at one of my properties right now, I’m just hesitating on calling and I’m thinking about switching to another provider. They still had to send a tech out a few days later, after I spent two hours of my time babysitting this technical issue for them. So, going forward, if I call them on my other property that I will switch now, I'm just basically gonna say, "Don't ask me to do anything. Just send a tech out. I'm not gonna do your work for you."

The installer was great, which is the only reason I am providing 2 stars. The customer service is subpar to say the least. The first appointment was a no show & you all wasted several hours of my day. This appointment the installer was on time however the pricing wasn’t correct & what Sitka have taken 2 hours took about 5 hours so again you all wasted my time. I want to be clear that this wasn’t the fault of the installer. It was the fault of customer service. I could go on but for sake of time I won’t. Just know I wouldn’t ever recommend Vivint.

Service was great until I sold my house. I called their office to cancel my contract the last week of June when I confirmed a close date on my home. At that time I was informed that I could either pay in full for the remaining months on the contract or let it continue to be billed through the end of November and then it would be terminated. Whoever I spoke with at that time assured me that it would not auto-renew or be billed after the contract expired. They said the new homeowners would be contacted to continue service.
This month the contract expired and I was surprised to see a new charge for an unauthorized month to month service according to the representative that I spoke with to dispute the charge. I am very disappointed in the lack of service from their team or willingness to better assist me with the termination. I did not receive a notice or anything by email to confirm the end of the initial contract or a request to renew. I had planned on signing up again with a new account when I buy a new home here in Tennessee, however at this time I am unsure I would do business with Vivint in the future. I have paid for a service that was not used the last 6 months, as I moved out of state and am renting temporarily until I purchase a new home.

My in-laws recommended Vivint when we moved into a new house. We got the sensors and cameras, and it has given us peace of mind. The tech came and did everything correctly. They asked me if I had any other questions, which I didn't. The rep from Vivint have also been very responsive and have been nothing but professional. In times the alarms have gone off, they phoned in, asked me how I was doing, and made sure that we were okay before they act upon that. And on false alarms, the law enforcement has been quick to act. I've really enjoyed the service and it's been really helpful.

I had a Vivint salesman come into my house and he has been fantastic. He was really friendly and broke everything down for me. He came by the next day because I had an event at my house. The installation team did a good job. They were quick and didn't cause any damage or anything like that. I liked the idea of having a home security system and the integrated control of thermostat. I thought it would be beneficial and it has been. I liked the ease of the use and I'm satisfied overall.

Vivint had a good promotion and my husband had decided to go with them. So far, I'm satisfied with their system. I use the app to do the bill paying, as well as to check my system. One time, a gentleman came and checked it out. He also brought the sign and I thought that was very nice. In addition, I've been pleased when I call the 800 number when I needed help. I've also been calling them every month to give my credit card and pay with them. Overall, I'm satisfied with Vivint. The interactions with their reps have always been good. I haven't had any issues.

The system was installed quickly and with minimum mess and noise. I love how easy it is to access the cameras and how the system logs events at my home. My only issue is that I never received my window decals or the little sign thing for the front yard. My home is a corner lot, so VIVINT missed a good advertisement opportunity. Lol.

Vivint's techs were really good when they installed our security system in Indiana but were bad on the take down. Then we moved to Wisconsin, and they were really bad on the install. We have a customized system, which was really good during the first half of year that we had it. When we moved, Vivint's people struggled quite a bit. Customer service tried to do too much troubleshooting over the phone. After about half a year, the techs figured out how our system works and they did better after they fixed it.

Vivint gives good service. Everybody, including the sales and installation team, has all been very informative. The techs that have come out have been really helpful versus what I've experienced over the phone. Occasionally, we haven't been able to troubleshoot as well over the phone. And so, I really appreciated it when a tech came out without a charge to me, because there would be times when I would troubleshoot over the phone with someone for an hour or more, and things wouldn't work out. I was nervous when they said they needed to send some tech out because there's a tech charge to send someone out. But on those times when I had trouble with troubleshooting and not finding a resolution, having the tech here was really important to resolve the issue. The techs seem to be highly knowledgeable versus the person on the phone.
I have the doorbell system where I can check from my phone. And I also love the app that allows me to control my thermostat away from home. I use that, as well as the doorbell camera a lot when I'm not at home, just to make sure that my house is secure. Those are my favorite features. My satisfaction with the service has been kind of up and down because I've had a lot of issues that have needed to be readdressed since Hurricane Harvey. Things got a little damaged in the process of that flood. And so, maybe some of those issues could be related to that storm because it seems like my reoccurring issues began after the storm.
We would fix something, and then it would falter again. So there were a few visits in the last several months of this year since the hurricane. The frequency is a little bit higher than what I was used to before the storm, but Vivint has been really helpful in finally resolving those recurring issues. So as far as the resolution, it has been great but it just has taken some time to figure out these reoccurring problems. And there has been several technicians that have had to come out to try to re-evaluate or find a final resolution for some of these issues. We've had to replace the panel. The previous tech was just trying to work with the panel, and then the next tech eventually decided to replace it. Overall, Vivint is great and they'll help you out to the end to make sure you get the right customized system for your home.

I was internet searching for a security company and Vivint seemed more comprehensive, more like a premium product. The sales reps were professional and I didn't have a problem with them. I got a choice of all sorts of things, but I opted for having two video cameras -- one around the house and one at the doorbell. The installation was super easy. The door automatically has the keypad and the automatic lock on it. I have all the doors and windows with the sensors on it. However, I had to replace our garage door opener and the one I replaced it with, even though it was newer, was not compatible with Vivint's technology to send and receive signals and it took two service visits to resolve that issue. We weren't sure what was wrong with it and it was the second person who figured out that it wasn't compatible. It was a bit of trouble, but they were very nice and weren't there for a long time, and were able to get the job done quickly.
Other than that, Vivint has been very good. With the app, you can assign people to have codes, so, if I have guests, they will be able to stay at my house without having to give them the key and will be able to see who comes and goes. The app is really good. It keeps records way back. The videos record the video clips all the time, so I can see what's going on at the home. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the services, although it's a little expensive, month to month. But it's a premium service, so it does a better job than some of the more bargain ones, which are more bare-bones. They get the job done and they've been very professional whenever they've had to call me for something at the home. Their technicians have been able to come quickly when I've had a problem.

Someone recommended Vivint to me and I took it. I've been with Vivint for a year now and I've been happy with their service. The only thing is, I wish there were more cameras at the front. For whatever reason, they said they couldn't install them in the front of my house to get a straight vision. That was one thing that was maybe wrong with the installation. It takes a long time to get stuff fixed with Vivint. I’m on hold very long time. Stuff wasn’t fixed even after a tech came out to fix it specifically. And I didn’t realize until someone got shot on my road, and it took them about four or five weeks to get a rep back out to fix my doorbell camera. They didn’t care because they couldn't work with their schedule.
Also whenever they re-booted my panel, one of the garage door features fell off, just simply because they updated the panel. So I used to be able to open the garage door from my app, which I love and those are extremely convenient. And then after they updated the panel, they took away that feature for whatever reason. It has been extremely frustrating. If it wouldn’t cost me a lot of money, I would switch to a different company.

When I got Vivint a year and a half ago, I selected the devices that I wanted, including the sensors and other security tools that they have, and then they installed it for me. They also gave me the option to pay that in installments or upfront. They had a clause where if you don't pay upfront, then you have to pay that over a five-year period, so that means you are bound with Vivint for five years until you make that payment. I was trying to see if there was a smaller timeframe, like a year or six months, where I could pay it instead of a five-year period. But they were not able to answer that question. I would've liked more option in terms of payment for those devices. But the interaction that I had with their customer service team was pretty good, and the installation was simple and quick.

I've had really good interactions with the representatives at Vivint. I had to call a couple of times for some technical issues, and they have been able to fix it or send somebody to take care of it. The people from Vivint did the installation and they showed me how to use the system, and it was straightforward. I like my system and its features. However, I have a large house and the sensors, sometimes, get disconnected. There is one sensor that is further from the panel that usually gives the signal that it is disconnected, and it connects back. I talked to Vivint one time about that, and they mentioned the distance and to check on the batteries. I checked on the batteries, and they were fine. And because it was something that is intermittent, I didn't really paid much attention to it.

I like the cameras and how many hours you can record with the one terabyte on the Vivint system. But sometimes, the cameras are going off and on and the recording is missing spaces when I go back through it. Other than that, I never had any problems with customer service. I've been with them for two years and they've always been good any time I call. Also, the alarm went off once by accident and they quickly responded.

Their Proprietary system is designed to suck your blood in the name of providing home security. They would want to send to you Technician for every minor reset they can do remotely and charge money. They are not ready to spend time to remedy the issue of their own imperfect/underdeveloped technology. They are Prohibitively expensive even when we have no monthly fee systems in the market. Stay away! Not worth It.

Purchased for home, very basic setup - no cameras just door sensors. 14 months later I've purchased a new home. Called to have service moved was told they would do reinstall for free because it's been over a year, then I get a bill for 80 dollars for the reinstallation. The installer put control panel in my garage, tells me a lot of people do this. I now can’t even use my system because the control panel is so inconvenient, can't hear it alarm or get to it in a timely fashion to disarm or arm it. I've called multiple times to complain was told they would send someone out to move it and credit my account to pay for the fee. None of which has been done.

Never got any paperwork with installation except Certificate of Installation online. Wanted the system for the doorbell camera and that is the MOST unreliable part of the system. Customer Service people tell me it is OK for it to only record a third of the people who come to my door and it must be my fault in the way it is configured.

The lady across the street where I used to live had Vivint and she was happy with it, so I went with it. When the representatives came out, the installation was great. Then, I had one of the things fall and a representative came and did it all. He was great. I had a phone number, and so when one of the little pad things fell in one of the windows, he came. He was from Victoria which is a three-hour trip from here. He called when he was in the area then he put up the thing for me again, and it's been fine ever since.
I've had good interactions with their team up until I lost our representative. Since I have his phone number, I tried to call him but I can’t get through to that fellow anymore. So, I don’t know who our local representative is. I was gonna get him to come to check out the glass break system alarm which doesn't work anymore. It kept saying I had to change the battery, so I went, got a battery, and changed it, but it isn’t still working. The little thing that sticks up on the window keeps falling off, too, and I’ve tried everything but I still can’t keep it up there. So, I'm a little disappointed. I bought the system back in 2012 or 2013 and everything was good all these years, then all of a sudden I can’t get any help with my system.
Also, when I talk to Vivint over the intercom, I’ve basically been told that I own the system, so if anything goes wrong, I have to pay for it. I pay around 50 dollars a month as it is. I’m not going to start paying for equipment and for having people come. So, I’m not using the system half the time. I’m not too happy with my experience. When my contract runs out, I'll be done with them.

A neighbor down the street works for Vivint. He had his truck parked out and we looked into Vivint. Their rep was nice and informative. We didn't research a lot and just went by what our neighbors were doing because if it was working for them, it would work for us. We have an expert like down the road so if we have any kind of questions, they can help us too.
The installation went smoothly. We're satisfied with the system, but sometimes it doesn't work to its full abilities, which has a lot has to do with our Internet connection out here. We live out in the country and trying to control the system from our phone is not as easy as it should be. I would really recommend Vivint. We use it as a neighborhood watch. We're in a military community and I'm surrounded by military. Our doorbells are angled towards each other's houses. Husbands get deployed and leave so we watch each other and make sure we're safe.

I'm a hospice nurse and I was at my job with a patient, and the Vivint salesman came to the door doing door-to-door selling. He was very professional. He respected the homeowner's choice not to talk to him, but I went ahead and talked to him 'cause I wanted to. The installation was awesome. I don't let anybody in my house without them showing me their ID and their badges, but the techs introduced themselves, started explaining what they were gonna do and showed me my contract. I have the indoor and outdoor cameras, and the window and door monitoring. I feel safe and I'd recommend it.

We were approached by Jordan, Vivint sales representative, while moving into our new home. Home security was on the “to-do” list but Jordan made it simple by bringing it right to our doorstep! It was amazing to create a dream package and actually be able to afford everything we needed to secure our home, and then some! The equipment was set-up in less than an hour and easy to use for those responsible for setting and disarming. Talk about convenience, I can now monitor my doorbell video feed and any notifications from sensors within the home right on my phone! I have not been too satisfied with Vivint. First of all when the salesman came to my home he told me that he would pay/credit me to switch from ADT to Vivint. That never happened. Not only did that not happen but they used existing equipment from my old ADT system such as the 2 of the motion detectors and a smoke detector. Wow a win win for them. When deciding how I would pay I told them I wanted to be billed monthly by mail. They constantly tried to get me to automate my payments. If at any time you are late with payments they run false alarms/notifications through your system to constantly annoy you until payment is made.
After the 3 year contract I stopped paying because any battery that went dead such as the door sensors, glass break and carbon monoxide detector you couldn't replace batteries on your own. Whenever the system notified me that door sensors, glass break and carbon monoxide detector battery was going low I would go to a local battery store to replace the battery. Any battery I tried to replace that particular device never worked again. I mean never no matter how careful I was. So they design the system so that after 3-4 years you have to call in costly service calls for the system to run properly. Or re-contract for another 3-4 years.
Even to this day, whenever they decide to run false alarms/notification they will run them for days just to annoy you and then out of the blue it stops. A month or two later they do it again. I would not recommend this system for anyone. The Vivint Home System is designed to implode 36 to 48 months after you have the system with the intention of costly repair calls or another contract. The only things that are still working on the system are the parts that were from the original ADT system. Consider other more independent systems. You may pay up front for them but it still comes out cheaper in the long run and less frustrating.

He really took the time to explain things and did a lot of advocating to customer service for me when we had technical difficulties! Although we spent a lot of time having to wait on hold with the different departments, the installation was still a success and he was wonderful. Excellent service!

A friend and my sister had Vivint and they recommended it to me. The service package that I got was pretty customizable. It has video, doorbell camera, and garage sensors. I've had the system installed twice. We had an original house then moved to a different house. The guy and his girlfriend that installed it initially did a perfect job. The second guy was okay, but he put a lot of the sensors in areas that didn't make sense. But there's already a hole in the wall now, so I ain't moving them. We've had a couple of issues with some sensors, but overall, its performance has been good and the issues I had were fairly easy to get fixed.

I had ADT before but I made a switch to Vivint because they are wireless. The sales rep told me he could use a lot of my existing equipment, and he gave me a discount. There was an allotted amount that you could get for the new installations. The installation was easy. Since I had some existing wireless equipment, he was able to integrate that into the system, so that was nice. It was just a matter of him hooking it up and making sure their cellphone service worked, which was another feature back then. That was unique and was really nice where you have to have a home phone.
Then, as time progressed, I decided I liked it more due to the fact that it integrates with the Alexa. I’ve got cameras, timers, and it turns on lights. The device does all kinds that you set. I have had Vivint for a long time and the quality is very good. I've renewed the contract with them several times already. My across-the-street-neighbor has it. I told them that all the integration was what they really wanted. So, it is keeping up with all the new bells and whistles. Then, they decided they wanted it, too.

When I bought a house, I looked for different security system companies. Vivint's system was more up-to-date and didn’t look old. I like the iPad feel to the touchscreen and the pricing was also a factor in my decision. They are easy to work with. Their reps are professional and explained everything easily. The installation went well and the guy was really nice. The app is simple and works very well. I use it for everything when I check on the sensors. The system works and immediately deactivates and activates from the app. But every once in a while, the Wi-Fi kicks out. I have to reset it and make sure that it’s connected, but that’s normal when it comes to Wi-Fi things.
When my dogs set the alarm off, I had gotten the notification on my phone immediately. At the time, the system wasn’t connected to Wi-Fi and I don’t think it notified the authorities or Vivint. At least, it still notified me and our neighbor said he heard the alarm. Overall, the experience with Vivint was straightforward and I feel good about it. I'd recommend them.

My initial experience was great. The agent that came out for installation had superior customer service and that's what I expected to receive from the company as a whole going forward, unfortunately that's not the case. I've only had the service for 2 weeks and it only worked for a week. I went on the website and attempted all of the troubleshooting listed however none worked. I then contacted the company via chat and was told a technician could come out but there would be a $50 repair or replacement fee although my equipment was brand new and purchased outright. The chat agent wasn't helpful at all and wanted me to stand outside in the freezing cold, at night to try to fix the issue. During that time I was also receiving a message saying the battery on my panel is low and not receiving power but a reboot of the panel did fix that. I'm very disappointed and regret ever getting this service.

I purchased a THREE year contract and this is set to expire in January 2019. I called in to request cancellation because I moved and they told me I had a 5 year agreement! I NEVER agreed to this. NOR did the installation tech who installed the services and had me sign all the paperwork ever mention that it would be a 5 year agreement. Now...I am also finding out my father has been FRAUDULENTLY tied to this contract as well because he is the owner of the home. I am livid! All customer service does is give you robotic answers and provide absolutely ZERO help! I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS SERVICE! There are MUCH better options out there for the price and the horrible customer service they provide! I will be filing a complaint once I figure out WHO I need to reach out to.

I’m satisfied with Vivint. They have a user-friendly system and everybody’s been very professional and very quick to get the problem solved. During the installation the first guy might’ve been new and didn’t really understand everything that he was doing. But they sent me two people after that, and they were very knowledgeable and had a good understanding of everything. They were able explain to me everything.

I installed Vivint To increase security and have peace of mind, I was happy with the quality of doorbell camera and backyard sensor and camera, but never really needed to investigate any missing package until today, I see that USPS delivered the package but then no video of anyone picking up the package, so it must have been missed by the sensor. It’s very unfortunate that I am paying good amount of money every month for a service which is defective and doesn’t have guaranty that it would work when needed.

I installed the home security system in fall of 2016. I signed a 2 year contract. In the interim I had a military move so had Vivint set up at our new place. I was told it would not interrupt service agreement. Well once my two year agreement had ended in new place I canceled the service. During this whole 2 year agreement including initial set up my husband was deployed. I am the one that had the agreement and signed for it. But now Vivint is saying it was in my husband's name and he signed for it and also that when it was transferred to new place it didn’t carry over my agreement but started a whole new agreement for 3 years.
I didn’t agree to any of this and my husband wasn’t even in the country to sign any of this. Now 6 months after canceling service I am getting harassing calls saying my husband owes over $1000. None of what they say makes sense. And I can’t believe a company could hold a service member account for continued service when his family had to move because of the military and him being deployed. Isn’t there laws protecting those serving in the military? And I would of rated no stars but site won’t let me.

I was perfectly fine with the package that Vivint offered us. I have an alarm system and two cameras from them. However, the installation was a challenge. I thought the sensors that I already had from another alarm system were compatible. But once they did the installation, we found out that they were not. I had to buy more sensors than I wanted to and it ended up being the most costly than I expected. Also, the doorbell camera was not working for night vision, and I'm still having that problem where I can't see when it's dark out. Night vision should automatically turn on, and it doesn't. I'm getting ready to change out my camera and get rid of Vivint for that reason.
I also have a camera on the back of the house, and it goes offline way too often. When I called to have them help me to get it back online, they've helped me disconnect it totally in the hopes that we can reconnect it. But unfortunately, we weren't able to. Now, I need somebody to come out and physically do it because I can't get it to connect on the phone with support, and I recently learned that's gonna cost me $55. So, I'm not really pleased with the service at all. I've called Vivint's customer service three times and although they've been responsive and helped me through it, the other half of times that I've called them, the issue is still unresolved. I feel like I'm paying for a service that I'm unable to use because it's not functioning the way it should be.

The Vivint sales rep who came to our door was okay, but we found out just recently that he lied to us. But that was okay. We understood that we didn't have a contract and we just kept it, but we didn't realize we had a five-year contract. We told him that we would probably be moving in a couple of years and we asked what we would do then. He said that it would not be a problem and to just call Vivint.
When we originally had the system installed, the technician came that day and installed it. However, when we have a problem, we never had one guy we could go to. We call up the 1-800 number and if they have somebody, it is good, and if they don't, then we just try to wait and see. We've been with Vivint for a little over two and a half years. We really liked the no-key lock, the combination lock, and the button lock. We also liked the camera at first, but it quit recording every time somebody came to the door, and all Vivint told us was that we must have had too many people coming to our door. It wouldn't even record when someone was actually at our door. Sometimes, people came and went, but we never knew they came and went, so it wasn't a good thing.
We were having some problems and we called Vivint. They said we needed a new battery, but they couldn't find anybody that could work overtime to come out and put our battery. We asked if we could do it, but they said no and that they needed a guy to come out and put in a new battery. But when they could come and do it, we were gonna be on vacation and not be there, so that became a problem and it was hard to get anybody to come out. When we got a guy out there and we said that the battery needed to be replaced, he said that it was all a mistake and that it just needed to be updated.
I'm not satisfied with Vivint. Their equipment could be improved. If they are telling me that I can monitor when somebody comes to my door, I should be able to see them. The recording stuff could also record for a little longer. It was 30 seconds and most of the time, that is long enough if somebody comes up to the door, but if somebody is hanging out outside and looking around to see, we have 30 seconds to watch that person looking around, then we don't see him anymore because it would quit recording.

This experience was awesome right from the start! Nate was very professional and down to earth. Extremely helpful and we got our new system installed the same day! Actually only a couple of hours after we talked to Nate to inquire about getting a system. That was a big surprise!! Then Damon came to install and was also very personable and professional. He cleaned up all his mess as he went through the house installing what needed I be done. He was great when it came to teaching us how to use the system. I really like the system and am confident that it will serve all my needs now and as I need to add on options in the future. It also helps that the two guys I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with were the best!!

Technicians are great. Very helpful but have limited resources in terms of what they can do to help customers. My business and home is currently with Vivint but as soon as my locked in contract is up we will be switching. They make promises but their word doesn't mean anything and then they say they want a satisfied customer but do nothing to change it. This company is not about customer retention or service. They try and charge for things that I was told would be covered. Would never recommend Vivint to anyone.

Worst experience I’ve ever had with a professional service installation. Damage to multiple areas of my home including damage to the walls and the paint. System that does not work properly. No warning about the damage prior to performance. Loose wires left exposed.

The customer service reps from Vivint have always been good but when it was installed, they sent people who didn’t know how to do it. The second guy said that the first guy didn’t know what he was doing. However, the third guy was supposed to be a supervisor and he got it all set up and working. I like having the key entry better because it’s more of a pain to do it on my phone but if I’m upstairs, it’s nice that I can turn it on with my phone. My kids set it off a lot in the morning. When I walk out the front door, I forget to turn it off but the experience has been good.
I just got out of a contract for three years and it’s costing a lot but it’s the same service. It’s expensive. It’s a bit more than I what I was paying and I didn’t realize that when I signed the contract. I’m paying $40 something to Vivint plus another $10 that the guy that sold it to me gets. I’m not happy with the price of it with the features I have. My neighbor down the street got the same package but she was paying less and I felt that I could have gotten more. I would not recommend it with the experience that I’ve had.

In my town, Vivint is the only security system that the majority of the town has. I have window sensors, door locks, door sensors and doorbell camera. I also have the thermostat control. Their people have always been helpful, knowledgeable and got things resolved. I had the system installed four years ago and we’ve never had any problems. The few times that we had any, Vivint was good about coming out and getting it fixed or resolved. They have always been good about getting things done. We're very satisfied with their service and I would recommend them. We had the little phone app where you can see what's going on and based off seeing that, my co-worker got them.

The very first night we had the system the thermostat would not work so the furnace would not work. I called tech support. They ran me through all kinds of stuff to do and said they couldn't get anybody out till the very next day at 10 in the morning which wouldn't work because I would have been at work. I just paid $2,000 for a security system and I didn't want to sleep in the house without heat the first night and it was 23 degrees so I called the representative who sold me the unit. He got ahold of the service tech and they came back to my house at 10 at night and fixed it so yes the service was good but it was a big inconvenience and now they still have to come back today to do some other stuff so we'll see.

I had the system installed on a Thursday. Three days later we got alerts that the back door sensor was offline. I did an online chat and was told I needed to go buy a new battery for it. No one was coming to fix it for me. A week after that we got notifications that the sunroom glass break alarm was offline. It’s still offline because I haven’t had time to go buy another new battery. At this point I want to cancel the whole thing.

I was a fool to go with this service. The thermostat is CONSTANTLY offline, installer even used 2 different thermostats because he couldn't keep it connected. The doorbell camera always stops working after about a week and I have to delete and re-add it to make it work for another week. Now the deadbolt is constantly disconnecting as well. Tried support and they give me the run-around from a script and are of no help at all. NEVER go with Vivint products. The salesman talked me out of the best products they have and this is ridiculous. The fact that no one in my town even works for this company should have been a clue. No one is here to help, no one is here to service these unreliable products.

We talked to Vivint over the phone about what we wanted in our options and when we had the system installed. Their reps were very professional. Somebody came out to install the system. He got in and out, and he was friendly. We currently have an electric door lock and for the security system, we have an indoor camera, carbon monoxide and smoke detectors. It's all been very nice and we're happy with everything that what we got. They're not something that we think about a lot, which is a good thing about a security system. I wouldn't have an issue recommending Vivint to anybody.

Vivint was highly recommended and so I got a system from them. However, it is frustrating because I didn't get what I wanted. They told me that my garage door could be connected to their system and it cannot be hooked up at all. Also, people are nice but it's frustrating because they try to nickel and dime you for every little thing. If something goes wrong with their stuff, they will try to charge you to come out and fix their stuff. They installed the wrong sensor on the garage door and it wasn't working. It caused us false alarm to go off in the middle of the night and cops were called. When I called them to get the correct sensors to be added onto it, they wanted to charge me for it. I went round and round with them but then, they said, "We'll waive the fee. We will come and get it fixed."
The quality of the system is good, and I don't have too many issues. They come out to fix stuff, too. They've had to fix the garage door sensor, they had to fix the front door that replaced the garage door sensor that replaced the front door lock. I was a little annoyed that I had to pay so much for them to come out and do the doorbell cameras. We've had annoyances with it, and we had to go through and do a very long series of, "Okay, let's reset this. Let's reset this. Let's reset this. Let's reset this. Let's do this. Let's do this. Let's do this." So, the quality is not horrible, but we have had numerous issues in the past two years.
I'm fairly satisfied with the service and we stuck with it because of what happened the night that we had that false alarm. It was the middle of the night and we didn't know it was a false alarm. We liked the way the call was handled and the peace of mind that came with having the Vivint agent there. She was checking on me. She was in touch with the police for me, too. So, that was a huge thing. That's what I keep in mind when I have these annoyances. It's been annoying at times and frustrating, but when we needed it, it was amazing. I would still recommend Vivint to friends.

Look they need a burn down the sales organization and start over. The boiler room - dog eat dog approach is horrid. I like the system, love the app, and installation was very solid save a minor issue that Vivint came to fix fairly promptly.

Techs have been out several times and unable to fix our equipment problems. The last tech, Josh, said we needed a new panel and someone should call us to set that up. Josh said he was making note of this in his system. He did not. No one called and when we called they said our system was currently good. We tried explaining yes it was but certain devices have connectivity issues fairly frequently. Ultimately they were unwilling to help. Regret purchasing from this company.

I did a Google search because I was struggling with a few other alarm companies that I was moving into my house with and trying to get it set up. I was getting estimates from different companies, then I had one of Vivint's reps come out, and it worked out. I liked Vivint's cost and ease of installation. All the other companies wanted to do a full, costly retrofit because I had a lot of double-hung windows in my house, so we needed extra sensors. I had existing wired sensors, but they didn't want to use that and they were really killing me on the cost for the extra sensors that I would need. I needed around seven sensors in the house and Vivint was able to work out the cost where I could afford it initially.
When we finally decided to pull through, Vivint came out and they got it all set up in one day. It was a long day and they had a lot of work to do. They sent two guys out and they knocked it out. They did a nice clean job and came back the next day and finished a few little things that were missing and tuned it up. The system has really been working flawlessly since we got it. The service has been good so far, although I've had some issues with maintenance that I still got to get fixed. I need a thermostat and Vivint still owes me another wireless deadbolt that I never got because they were out of stock.
Everything has worked good once we've gotten the bugs worked out of the system. However, there were a few features that I was promised, like the auxiliary touchscreens, and those were supposed to have come out, but they've never come out or they are not doing them. I'd really like to have one in my master and one out in the garage. I'd also like to be able to have some cameras on the exterior and out in my garage where I have most of the stuff that I need to protect. I got a really big garage with a bunch of tools. Everybody at Vivint has been really professional. We had an emergency call one time and they stayed on the phone with my wife. I was away and the fire department got there. That really sold her on Vivint, having that voice there when something was going on. I tell all my friends about Vivint.

Our experience with Vivint has been okay. The interactions with their reps have been great and the installation went well. The camera system has glitches in it every now and then though. Sometimes, the system goes out and it doesn't always connect to the camera system. Other than that, the alarm system has been well. Overall, Vivint has handled our service well. Any time we call in, they remotely fix any issues that we have.

Vivint offered a really good promotional deal for the installation. I would save a lot of money on the installation and they sounded like it was a good system. The rep was good but he could have explained the features of the system and how it works a little better. Even after it was installed, I didn't know the things I needed to know for the customer stuff as far as configuration, getting through the screens and what they mean, and how to set them up. Even so, the installation team was good. I was not too happy with the first guy that came out, but the second person that they had come out was much better.
I'm really dissatisfied and very unhappy with the system. I got it because I was robbed. A bunch of stuff was stolen from the house in my garage. I have $800 worth of stuff, and so I thought I should have a system that would protect me, but I've had nothing but problems with the system. The cameras weren't working. I keep losing connectivity between the control panel and the router that's in the next room, which is only 20 feet away. It keeps failing, and I've had repeated calls to customer service.
Just a month ago, I was robbed. A little, gas-powered scooter that my son uses to get to work was stolen off of my patio where I have a camera. I went back and looked at the clips that were saved off of that patio camera. And at 5:15 in the morning, it was still dark, but it has night vision on those so I can see it. My scooter was sitting there, and then, there was a big blackout period. So between 5:15 roughly and 11:30, it didn't record anything. And when I got the next recording at 11:30, the scooter was gone. So I was robbed again and my system didn't pick it up. Also, we have a pot-bellied pig and we paid $850 for it, and she's in a pen in the backyard. And some rogue, vicious attack dogs got out. They jumped into her pen, they chewed her ear and her back leg, and the system didn't record anything.
I've been through the customer service call up. These particular issues have been unresolved since day 1. And they got the system working, and I told them that we should replace some parts of the system. They said as long as they can remotely get the system back up, then they can't replace anything. Despite the fact that it should be able to be reconnected locally, because they've called and told me that when my panel disconnects from the Wi-Fi, or my router, then I can reconnect it. And it won’t connect until they get in and have access from the NOC and then they reconnect things themselves when it should be capable of being reconnected locally right from my kitchen.
They finally replaced the control panel last year but that has not resolved the issue. And over and over, they keep making software upgrades. And even though it's a known issue, all they say is there are too many people who complain so they just wait until people call them and when they're out of service, and then, they'll make an upgrade at that point in time. So that is a very poor policy for fixes on the system. The issues go on and on. The software is terrible, and I can't get them to replace the router, which is probably the most prominent thing that's causing the problem, because I can't connect to the router there locally from my kitchen to my living room, which I should be able to do regardless of the internet connectivity back to where their Network Operation Center is.
The system does not live up to what it was advertised as and I can't get out of the contract for the hardware. I can cancel the monthly $49 contract with Vivint, but I'm still on the hook with Citizens to pay off that hardware of $2,000 regardless whether I keep the system or not. Also, the cameras record every little thing that happens. And so, it records over and over, and you can't find anything you're looking for. It fills up the buffers because a change in the shadow against my house is enough to trigger the motion sensor on the cameras. I have trees in my yards, and just the shadows from the trees triggers the camera on and off, and it fills up my memory. And then, I lose a lot of my camera clips, even though they show up on my smart phone.
I asked them if they can give more memory in the router and they told me that it will cost me extra money. They said I have to pay for a separate server upgrade. So, they want more money to make their system work properly. And I've called in, and had them show me how to adjust the fields on the camera that is the area where it's gonna trigger on so it will ignore peripheral stuff in the camera view. I've worked with the people from customer and tech support, and we've narrowed down a camera to almost nothing as far as what it's triggering on, and it still triggers on just about everything. They said there's nothing they can do about that.

I had some bad experiences in phone conversations with other home security companies. Before I even signed anything with Vivint, I checked around and wound up calling some neighbors and friends that live in the community and had experience with Vivint, and nobody gave me anything negative. We’ve been with Vivibt for two years now and we like our service. Their reps have been really good. And the installation went well. It had gone off before and I didn't have any issues with the amount of their response time, but the way they contacted me was different. Sometimes, it was through email as opposed to calling me, which would’ve been more direct. Other than that, its features have been good, so far.

We've used Vivint for two years and we're very satisfied with the service. It's very easy to use and maintain. We had a problem where the alarm panel went out on us and we had an issue getting them out to replace the alarm panel. It was an unforeseen issue. The technician that was supposed to come out to take care of us had a family medical emergency. So they had a little problem with reshuffling people. But they took very good care of us and knocked some off the bill. It worked out really well.
We're very pleased with the technicians. They were very nice and were willing to do whatever, to take care of whatever needed to happen. We don’t have any issues. If we do have an issue, they do everything they can to help us resolve it. We bought Vivint based on my father-in-law who had Vivint for four years. We were managing him, and when we found out what Vivint was capable of doing, we could keep a little better eye on, ‘cause he was 20 minutes away from us. Two of my neighbors also went with Vivint, based on our recommendation.

My experience with Vivint has been a nightmare. The system doesn't work and there is no signal. They sent out technicians a few times and every time they sent a technician out, he would get a signal of anywhere between 50 and 70%, but the people I talked on the phone said I needed at least 90. The cameras stop working and I gotta reset my system at least once or twice a week. It has gotten to a point where I called and I had them come out, and I said that I didn't want it anymore. The first technician that came said that the system doesn't work and that they couldn't get it to work. I called and the reps said that they were gonna send another tech out. They sent out a second one, but it was the same thing. It was called non-serviceable and there was nothing that they could do. So, the second time after the tech left, I called and they said that they would cancel the system.
The rep said she canceled the system, but money was still being taken out of my bank account and I was upset about that. I called them and the rep said that the system was never canceled and that she would take care of it. In order to get it canceled, I had to send a letter to the cancellation department that I wanted to cancel it. Then, they would put the note saying that it is unserviceable, then they would cancel it without the fee. Again, I did that and she was able to at least refund me one of the months and she said that they would look into the other months. I spent eight months' money on the equipment, but I returned it all, so I should have the money back. However, they never gave me that money back either.
It was a different excuse every time. One was I needed quicker internet, so I got quicker internet. One said I needed repeaters in the house and they put them everywhere, but that still didn't help. In the end, they said that they can't get a signal outside because of how old the house is and the type of brick used. It was always something and it never worked. I had the system around January before I had them cancel it and this has been going on since the summertime. They came in and they pulled the system out of the house at the end of July or August. Their customer service is horrible. If anybody asked me or even if I'm on social media and I see somebody post something, I go out of my way to let people know to stay away. Vivint is the absolute worst company ever and going with them is one of the biggest mistakes I ever made.

Getting Vivint installed was about 6 hrs. Jorge told us if we had any problems to call or text him. I have done both but he doesn't make any attempts to contact us for our concerns with the camera issue & I still have not fix one of the camera. Once system is installed the Service is NOT GREAT! I had better Service with my last alarm company with Night Guard. Ken responds ASAP!

I had contact Vivint Home to get alarm service with cameras but when the guy came home it was like I requested someone from a dating service. He started asking me if I was single or in a relationship and my cousins heard him from in another room and told him that was very unprofessional and he then had attitude. Then he comes towards the kitchen and started asking me about which package deal I wanted to get for my home but smell the food in the kitchen and say, "You look good and you can cook."
So at this point I’m like, "Are you from a dating service because this have nothing to do with my security system." So he then stated some more information about the alarm system and I stated to him that wasn’t what the representative told me over the phone. He left out for 5 mins. Said he had to make a call and once he came back he said, "Look, what do you want to do about this package?" I told him I want the free camera That was value at $329 on the internet like the rep said. He then stated, "I’m not doing anything," and left my home... No one never contact me back from this company. My money was taken off my bank card and I was giving a 3 day to cancel with no equipment. So at this point I don’t trust no one from this Company in my home.

The salesman was good at promising things that couldn't be delivered. All hype, no action. Installation guy said he wasn't able to do what salesman claimed. Needed more cameras to get coverage asked for, and was unable to hook garage door to system like promised. When I told salesman, he said I must have that 1% garage door opener that Vivint's system doesn't mesh with. I said it is a 2-year-old Craftsman, how could "Craftsman" be obscure 1% they don't work with?

One of the young people from Vivint came around selling in the neighborhood, talking to people about them. He was informative and helpful about what is involved in the process. There were a couple of reps inside during the installation and they did real well too. They helped us out and decided what we needed for coverage. We get alerted on our phones when the doorbell rings and we're out somewhere. We had one problem with it when somewhere in the hall, the little screen messed up. They had to put another one of those in, so they fixed it. Other than that, everything's fine.
We turn the Vivint system on when we leave, and we turn it back off when we get home. I like the cameras, especially the front door. You can see who's coming up and if they ring the doorbell. I also have the glass breakage so if I break the glass, it'll pick it up and alarm. The equipment is pretty expensive to start with, and paying on it for five years is not something that I really wanted to do. But as far as the system itself, I like having it and I've been satisfied with it.

Order was taken inaccurately. Sales team recommendation was wrong. Account was fraudulently billed 576 on first day. Management has no ability to fix problems. Billing error was addressed with excuses and poor attitude. Complete ineptitude on all levels. 2 hours on the phone with customer service. Too many “departments” and no one can do anything to remedy all the mistakes. Offered a pittance to help retain my business.

I’ve been looking at Vivint and the price is very good. The equipment was narrowed down as well so we didn’t have to buy everything upfront. The customer service has been very good as well. Even the tech that installed the system was very helpful. He came out again and fixed the system. The system is based on your internet. If you have a good internet connection, you’ll have better responses. But other than that, the system has been very good. I like the features that were included in it very much and haven’t had any issues. I have an Apple Watch and the system shows up on my watch. I can open and close doors, arm and disarm the system, but it says it’s supposed to allow you to change the temperature. Sometimes, it shows the temperature so you can change it, and sometimes it doesn’t. But other than that it has been very responsive.

On August 2 I had a attempted home invasion. Fortunately they failed to break down the front door. I purchased a Vivint security system. The system is constantly malfunctioning and broke. The door camera is offline. Window and door monitors have been replaced multiple times. The customer support people even told me the remote monitoring system didn’t work well with a iPhone! The only thing that works is the Vivint sign they put in my yard.

My mother was using Vivint as her security system in her home. I also chose them for my home and picked up their regular service. When the alarm goes off, Vivint's reps call me and let me know if someone's trying to get in my home. I've been using it for 10 years and they've been thorough with calling and following through on what they're supposed to do. Whenever we've had a call, it has worked for us. Whenever a technician comes, they've been helpful and does their job. Their price is reasonable and the service is good.

The idea is great. I have caregivers taking care of my mom so I need this. It's great when it works. It takes hours on the phone when it quits working. We have had to pay more for other parts. They've come out numerous times. It works for a few hours or a few weeks and then it quits. It's down more than up. It takes more time than we have. I wish it did work. I'm paying for a product that rarely works. I'm very disappointed.

The customer service team of Vivint is great and I'm very happy with the system. The installation team were good guys. They came in here and did what they gotta do Vivint was a smart move on our part. The door was left open one time and we had the cops there in about 15 minutes. Also a couple of times we had some smoke in the house from cooking and it set off the alarm. The guys’ response is real quick. They called right away. So I like that they were checking out and making sure that everything was good.

I have been with Vivint for five years in February and my experience with them has been satisfactory. We got their basic package from them. I’ve been satisfied with their quick response. I contacted their reps because I had some problems with my camera and I was able to get a hold of someone quickly. They were able to walk me through my issues. The biggest drawback that I’ve had though was I had to commit to a five-year contract with them. I’m gonna shop around, and if they’re still the best with the service that I have, then I will stick with them.

I've been with Vivint since they first started, and I was one of the first ones to get a system from them. I was grandfathered in, and they told me that the $39.99 rate will never change because I was one of the first ones to get it. But on my checking account, they took out $43 and something, and I thought, "What the heck?" So I called them and asked, "Why haven't you changed my last name? I had gotten married and I sent you everything you asked for. And also, what at you charging me $43 and something for?" So they told me that I had an older system, and it was harder to monitor. I was really angry. The rep I was talking to switched me to somebody else, and they didn't know what the heck to do.
They finally got me to a nice lady that helped me get my name changed and told me why they charged me $43. I asked her, "What are they gonna do? Do that every month? Go up $5 every month?" And she said, "I wouldn't think so." She also told me that I qualified for a new system, so I said, "Yeah, but won't that knock me out of been grandfathered in?" She was recording our conversation, so I told her I was glad she was recording it in case they start going up on me. She told me to get a new panel put in and it wouldn't cost me anything and it would be $38 something a month and it won't ever go over $38.
An installer came out, and he was really sweet. He put the new system in. He went through and checked everything, made sure it works, showed us how to work the new panel, and even helped us get in on our phone, so we can work it from our phone. So, I appreciated that. I love my new system. It was easy to transfer over, too. I tell everybody that Vivint is a good one.

I was looking for a security system and it looked like Vivint was what I wanted. I got a doorbell, doorbell camera lock, remote control of the door lock, outside cameras, and thermostat control. The installation of the system was problematic but it got resolved. The equipment's performance started off rocky but Vivint's reps smoothed it out. They were diligent on the service side. It was disappointing that the cameras are triggered with outside shade movement so we have a lot of videos, noise, and false positives.
We have spoken with Vivint to see if that was something that they would be willing to move but it was not possible. We have trees and there’s the sun so there are shadows. The rep I talked to more recently was good with his effort. We did a service pack to resolve it and it solved the problem. The service technicians that are on subsequent visits have been also good. If a family member is looking into getting a system through Vivint, I will tell them to make sure it's what they want. I’d be a little hesitant but I wouldn’t completely discourage them.

Excellent customer service. Good attitude. Very quick set up. I love all of my equipment!! I love checking on my house from my phone while working. What I love the most is being able to watch my daughter getting into the house safe after school.

This is a tremendous improvement over my other security system. It has been years since I felt safe leaving my home. Or, since I felt safe in my home. Vivint has really given me a sense of security since it was installed. I love this system.

The Vivint sales people were very helpful, the installer was great but after that it was dismal. Upon contacting Support, they would promise to get the problem fixed but never followed through. The playback has never functioned, the Smart Drive app has never worked, and now they are phasing it out. The Smart Drive was how we were to get playback to begin with. The events do show us what is happening but often gaps in video even when we know someone is in our yard. The cameras have functioned on and off and we have spent hours and hours on the phone with Vivint support. The issues were often related to their software.
The doorbell camera has been the worst. At first it was very good but the update made it almost useless. Someone would almost have to be right by our door before it recorded. We were told we would need an enhancer or something to make the strength better for the doorbell camera, but as of yet nothing has happened. We purchased this system in Nov. of 2017 and had it installed in Dec. 2017. This has been a difficult year with this system. We still pay $53.24 per month for a rather useless system, which we think is terrible. We should have gone with SimpliSafe.

Alarm Install. System easy to use. Happy with install process and customer service so far. Has, however, only been three days since sale and install. Nice system. Very easy to use. I am very pleased with my whole Vivint experience.

We were comparing different services. Vivint seemed to be more comprehensive than other companies and seemed to offer a lot more features that we were interested in. We had very good interactions with their sales reps. We had a little bit of a hiccup a few months after we had the system installed though. Apparently, the original person who installed it didn't do something properly. But a few months ago, we had someone come back and make that adjustment. The technicians that came to our home were very nice, courteous and friendly. The features that are offered with our service are great too and the system works very well. Everything's been fine and I'd recommend Vivint.

They went to install all the system and equipments in 24 hours I just ordered. Their work is very efficient. They are very nice. The system is very easy to operate. You can check and manage your home anywhere by your phone.

I was very dissatisfied with the way my initial appointment was canceled and I was not notified about it. I wasted my entire day waiting for someone that never showed up, I wouldn't have known it was canceled unless I called, nobody bothered to try and reschedule. The tech that came days later was helpful with the install and made it easy to learn the system.

Vivint came to the house one time because a battery needed to be replaced. The technicians that came out were cooperative and helpful. The system performs very well and I like the features included in it.

We didn’t like the customer care and the service we were getting from ADT so we looked into getting a new company that was better. Everybody has been great at Vivint from customer service to the salesman to the guy who comes in and replaces whatever is broken or whatever goes bad like if the battery goes dead. It makes this horrible beep and a technician comes in. He's always nice. We were using the old windows stuff from ADT and when one of the sensors broke, he came and replaced it.
Our Vivint package includes the glass break, window alarms, freeze detector, fire detector, and carbon monoxide. The installers who came were very knowledgeable and kind. They showed me how the panel worked. And when the data got updated, a technician came and helped me go through the different things new on the panel.
The only thing that wasn't good with Vivint was last night we had smoke in the house and I couldn’t hear them through my panel unless somebody turned the volume down. I was right there talking to the Vivint guy as well. I told him we were fine and that we just had some smoke and burnt food. But Vivint dispatched the fire department which wasn't a bad thing. I have a very sensitive smoke alarm which is good. The fire department guys came and just took our name.
On the whole, Vivint should keep up their good work. I have suggested them to a couple of people. I like their customer service. I’m big with being treated with respect and not talked down to. I wouldn’t go back to ADT. Also. Vivint's panel is also easy to work with. If you have a dog, you just don’t get the motion sensors, you can get a different sensor.

Tabitha was great!!! Once we were able to coordinate installation. And the system is awesome. Will definitely consider adding to more of our homes. Thank you. I bought all the products of Vivint from Best Buy. The ease of use and the cameras appealed to me. Best Buy have the products on hand and had everything set up for us. The guy that came out and installed it, worked as a contractor to Vivint so were quite happy with it. He was from Newton and he was in the area to do his installs. He was very professional and did an excellent job.
We got two cameras — one in the front and one in the back. Then we have a doorbell camera as well. We also got the home keypad and some motion sensors. We just had an issue the other day and my wife probably spent 45 minutes on the phone with their reps. She said they seemed to be patient and they got the problem fixed so we were quite happy about that. We like the app that they have as well. Vivint is a pretty good system. It's like we wanted it to. We just had one minor issue and it was a software glitch. Apparently, we should’ve called them ahead of time, but we didn’t know it was an issue.

My daughter’s friend, Trish, was an employee of Vivint and she told me about their product. I discussed with her what I wanted and she helped us put our system package together. I have two cameras right now. One is in the doorbell and one is inside the house. That has a 180-degree view of the entrance and it has the view of what is going on downstairs. I can view the cameras from my phone and I can lock and unlock the door from my phone or from the inside. It also tells me when the windows and door are open as well as which one it is. We have a panel mount downstairs and upstairs too.
I like Vivint better than our previous system which didn’t have the options I have now. We could probably have gotten them, though. Everybody else seems to be catching up. But I plan on keeping my Vivint system. I've had a good experience them and their people do what they are supposed to do. The sales reps and installers were great. We recommended another one of our friends to Vivint, however, the girl who sold it to us is no longer with the company. Vivint is a great product, but the treatment of their employees leaves much to be desired.

Two sensors have already fell off, one is broke. One back patio door sensor will barely stay attached, and one garage door sensor kept door from opening. Sensor on garage door finally broke off when door was opened. You can have someone come out Monday to tighten up the.

The security system would not stay online. I called after 2 days for repair then one camera wasn't working on night vision like I was told so I cancelled within time frame. Payment was pulled immediately yet it's going on a month and no refund yet???

I've been a loyal customer of this company since 2009 or 10. We recently went through a devastating Hurricane in the panhandle and the last thing I need to worry about is my family's security especially because I pay to have our home protected. The service has not worked for over a month. Not only has it not worked. It's gotten worse. The representatives keep giving me the runaround and are not very helpful or considerate. And even though they are unable to repair their equipment in a timely manner and provide working service they refuse to let me out of the contract. You absolutely do not want to do business with this company. Also be very careful to not get friendly with the technicians they send to your home. My experience ended with me having to file a restraining order.

We were new to the neighborhood and I decided to get a security system. My experience in dealing with Vivint’s reps was excellent. Their professionalism and knowledge were very helpful. Their installers were very professional and helpful too and were on time. We had a little mishap though. The wires within my home were messed up but they were able to get a hold of someone to fix it without any problems. Also, we only installed two cameras, the doorbell and the camera through my driveway. I'd like to install another camera but the Vivint representative told me that I would have to buy it at full cost, which is $370, instead of having it between my payments. Out of security and being comfortable with my home when I'm not home, Vivint is worth the monthly payment.

I wouldn’t be able to live here without my security system because there are too many robberies going on. Vivint offered me a free system if I kept it for five years and I've been with them since 2008. At first, I had to get used to different things but it has gone pretty well. Plus the response is very fast. I would like one thing changed though. They used to have something on the key fob that I could push to let people know it was a medical emergency. I liked it better than the new key fob. They don’t have that anymore and I would like that back on the key fob. Nonetheless, the system has saved my life so I would appreciate it.

I'm not at the house all the time so I got a Vivint system. It also appealed to me that I am able to open garage doors and monitor the cameras. However, Vivint hasn't been all that wonderful. Every time I turn around I'm having a problem. We got home last week and I went to look at my doorbell camera, and one of my cameras is not working. I have no idea why. I've had to have them out to the house three times to adjust the cameras. But the outside cameras still take pictures every 30 seconds. Every time I've called customer service reps that's been no problem, other than the fact, the last time, it took me almost two weeks to get anybody out to the house to resolve the problem.

I am so happy with my new alarm system. I have an in home camera and exterior camera. The performance of this new system is better than the other companies by far. I would recommend this system to all of my friends that are looking for an alarm system.

My neighbor got Vivint and referred us. I was impressed when they presented the system to us almost six years ago. Their sales rep answered any questions I had and the installation went well. I’m very satisfied with Vivint's services. Our equipment has been working fine for us. There was once when the alarm went off falsely and I didn’t get there fast enough for it, and the customer service team was friendly when I spoke with them. Vivint has been good with us and we have no problems with them. I had an incident where something was wrong with one of the sensors on the doors, and they automatically treated me properly with it. They charged me for that visit because the police came here, but they reimbursed me back, so I had no complaints.

I have a regular Vivint package and at the beginning of the contract, the installers came out and they were great. I had some issues with their reps and Vivint is a little pricey compared to others, but other than that, they're okay.

Vivint took over a previous alarm company I had and it seems like customer support is severely lacking. I’ve got motion sensors, window sensors, cameras, and the panel. The battery life on the sensors seem to be short lived. I had several sensors with less than a year go bad. The battery went dead and they wanna charge $60 to come out and diagnose. That just seems a little unacceptable. The actual product itself is good, price is on-point, but them getting to troubleshoot or schedule something or just overall understanding their own product is severely lacking. It seems like they just read from a script book. An installation team came out and they could have done better. The only saving grace they have is I don’t pay for the product installation upfront like a lot of other companies do. But I just can’t recommend them. I’ve got a good set rate and I’ve been with them for quite a while but I’m not too impressed with them.

Great customer service from our installer, Josh. Called ahead to make sure install time was confirmed and also showed up on time. Very knowledgeable and professional. Answered any questions that I had. Provided good training on equipment. Would recommend Josh and Vivint.
