    The interactions I’ve had with Vivint has been fairly good. But I had one call about a year ago from a salesman and we talked about doing a doorbell camera. He was supposed to call me back, but he never did. But it’s okay. I went ahead and got the system. Other than that, everything has been good, so I am happy with Vivint. If an alarm goes on, they contact you right away and you get alerted on your phone, email and all that. Also, the people that I’ve talked to from their tech support are really good.

    I've had Vivint for a long time and their pricing is better compared to others so I stayed. I upgraded my system when I last renewed my contract a year and a half ago. The installation of my new equipment went well, and so far it's also working well. The smartphone feature is good, and I also like the camera. I could see and talk when somebody is in front of my house. I'm very satisfied with Vivint.

    I had Ackerman before but I changed to Vivint due to the fact that the home automation was incorporated with the security, the Nest thermostat and the front door lock automation. Even though those are not Vivint components, they integrate nicely into the Vivint panel. I don’t like having 10 different things to go to, instead, I like everything integrated together. And the salesperson did a really good job bringing some of those features to my attention. The sales rep was excellent and the installation went smoothly.

    I would suggest they improve the video feature, though. I have a Vivint doorbell and when someone would ring and I push the button to talk to them, the video doesn’t work all the time. I really wanted that feature for my mother, but for an elderly person, it is too cumbersome. It’s almost impossible for a lot of elderly people to use it because of the technology. It should be easy enough for an elderly person to go up and just push a button. But the thing is, the button should be visible. People shouldn’t have to poke around the screen to find where the button is. That part is very kludgy. Sometimes, even for myself, I find it annoying because by the time I get it working, it is quicker for me to go downstairs and open the door.

    I would also suggest that they make the home icon on the display to look like a house. It looks like a symbol, and for a senior person, it means absolutely nothing to them because the shape doesn’t identify any recognizable object to an average person. It seems like someone outside of the country came up with the icon and now the Americans have to figure out what they mean. Vivint should come up with icons that anybody, even a kid could figure out at a glance. If a person has to stand there and think about what the icon means, then a customer has to work too hard, especially if they’re a senior. It just confuses them. Still, I would definitely recommend Vivint. I’ve had a really good experience thus far.

    My son got me a Vivint alarm system and the installation took a couple of hours. It was a package deal and I went from cable to satellite. The features offered in the package are great. I have MS and am incapacitated, and so with the camera, I can see everything going on out my back door. However, I got a little problem. Right now, the screen shows I have four items that need attendance, but I can’t do anything because I can’t get Wi-Fi here. The system works great though.

    Bought this system Aug 2018. Started noticing that I was missing a lot of clips of movement on cameras. Called to get tech out after being their phone tech of trying to fix problems over the phone. Then they want to charge me $50 for tech to come out!!! Finally tech comes out and he/she said, “O yea I see what you’re talking about, it didn’t even record me coming into front door!!!” So after calling boss was told that I had to purchase space monkey in order for all 4 cameras to work simultaneously at a cost of $250!!! Yall done lost yalls freaking mind. This is a way of making more money off of the customers because they don’t tell you that only 2 cameras will record at a time. I’m soooo pissed and will drag the name Vivint to everybody that I know!!! What’s the use of the cameras when you can’t use all cameras at the same time to record.

    We have had this system for over a year and a half, having problems since day one but really wanted the system to work. We were told during by the door to door sales person our equipment would be free for being a, “Model Home” however that was not true. Vivint never honored the sales representative word to us, he even denied he stated it. This was a big sign... where would I get this from?

    In January of this year our house was deemed unserviceable and a technician pulled the equipment (leaving holes in my wall because he didn’t have drywall repair putty stocked on his truck). I was disappointed but the system was gone and we could move on. Three months later I am still be charged for equipment that should have been free from the beginning. I was also being charged for service but after speaking to Loyalty care was refunded for the two months however they will not refund any money for equipment that I longer have and another payment will be posted to my account on tomorrow 3-2-19 for the equipment!

    I have made several attempts to have this corrected. On February 2nd I spoke with Robert in loyalty care who stated I would be refunded for the equipment payment once the proper department received his notice at the equipment has been removed and deemed unserviceable. Payments were still taken from my account! I spoke with Alesha in Loyalty care explaining my problem and she state that Vivint would not be refunding me for equipment loan payments! I’m getting mixed messages about my equipment loan. So, Vivint will not be refunding nor will they inform Citizens Bank to discontinue payments because I don’t have any equipment and my account has been deemed unserviceable! Unfortunately payments continue to be taken and I have no equipment. I’m so sorry that it has come to this. I have never Spoke bad about the service received but when your company is lying and stealing for their customers, people need to Be WARNED!

    Vivint is a good company. Their security system works well and does what it's supposed to do. Overall, the cost is good but I wish it's cheaper. The guy that installed my system was pretty good and nice, and he got everything down quickly. The features that are offered in my service are all good and I like them. One of the best things about the Vivint security system is that you can do whatever you want from your phone and you don't need to get in the house to control it.

    I found the system was not too bad, but if something does go wrong the support is not very good. I found I was on hold on the phone a long time whenever that happened. And if you didn't sound angry they didn't take you seriously. And then just try and cancel the service, wow, next to impossible.

    I am still having problems with my backyard camera. It has over 550 clips each day. I call and you guide me through the adjustments and it still doesn't work. I occasionally records my activity in the back yard and sometimes it does, but it still records movement over 550 times a day. Wish I had never changed my alarm service.

    I had this system installed in August of 2018. Since then it has been one problem after another. Either one part is not talking to the other or one of the monitors stops working. Customer service is good, but you can't fix a substandard system. Along with the faulty devices. You better buy stock in the battery company. Every time the system doesn't work the tech says change the batteries. That wouldn't be bad if these were cheap batteries. I finally had it with Vivint security. This is the only time I have had to contact the company to cancel service only to be told I had to E-mail them and explain why I was cancelling. Are you kidding me!!!

    I first signed up for five years with Vivint. When it ran out, I signed up again because they were always awesome. They always checked and followed up. I was very happy with both the service and the products. Vivint gave me a lot of new things like a new control panel and a thermostat which I especially love when I renewed. I had a lot of issues before I renewed that Vivint totally took care of. And since I upgraded a year ago, I have so many more controls. If I use the keypad to block the front door, it automatically arms the house. I have all these extra little choices in the control panel and my iPhone.

    For the installation, Vivint initially used a subcontractor and I was happy with him. He was wonderful. I’m also very particular when it comes to customer service and Vivint was always outstanding. They weren’t in a hurry and they always spoke wonderful English. When you're talking to someone in India, you just can’t understand them. But I always speak to someone American with Vivint and I love that. With Vivint, I have the security which I didn’t have before. I’ve told a lot of people about them.

    Go for Vivint. I've been with them for four years now and I have also referred quite a few of my neighbors just because it’s a better deal. They gave us more for $10 more a month than our previous provider. The only thing that aggravated me is I was having problems with the panel. It would go off randomly and be like, “Fire, fire, fire.” So I called and said I needed somebody to come and take a look at it, and they charged me 80 bucks for it. They didn’t even tell me that I was gonna be charged. It just came on my next month’s bill. I was like, “Really?" It’s their equipment. I don’t own it so why was I being charged? On the other hand, the customer service has been good. Usually, when I have an issue, the representatives can, for the most part, handle it. They’re friendly and they try to do what they can.

    The system has also gone off a couple of times by accident. Quite often, I set the fire alarm off with cooking and when we first got Vivint, they would immediately come on the panel. They would ask if everyone was okay and ask for our code word. We would talk to them and tell them it was good so they didn’t have to dispatch anybody. But in the last year and a half or so, nobody has come on the panel when I've set the fire alarm off on accident. I don’t know if they’ve upgraded their stuff where they know I had set it off from cooking. It's weird. But still, I feel safe. I think the sign out front deters people as well.

    I had these people come to my door, August 8th 2014 I told them it wasn’t my house it was my fiancé’s. They said they could install it and if he didn’t want it they’d take it out. They damaged the wall putting in the panel and cut wires (so I still have live wires in my wall). My fiancé did NOT like it. I called to have it removed August 12th 2014. But because of the damage Vivint said if I canceled they couldn’t get a work order to come fix the property. I called them emailed them estimates from contractors and did everything I was supposed to do all while paying for their monthly service for 4 YEARS!!! At the end of the contract agreement I had only a balance of $225 left on the contract, I refused to pay because they STILL hadn’t fixed our wall estimated cost was $3,500. I was told by their company that if I canceled my contract early I would owe the amount it cost to install the system plus the equipment charges which was $2420 on my service agreement.

    All this time I paid for the service not my now husband, I signed the contract he wasn’t even home at the time. Well they sent me a contract with my husband's signature and were going after him and his credit for the money even though it was under my name at the time and we weren’t married. I told them and emailed proof of my husband's signature and said the one they had was a forgery!!! Vivint sent my account to collections and I ended up having to pay $1,500 to a collections company to get this off my husbands credit. So total I spent $3,600 for the monthly fees ($75 for 4 years). $1,500 to the collections company, and I still have to pay for the wall damage myself to the tune of $3,500. I should have punched that Vivint salesperson in the balls when he was at my door 5 years ago.

    I went ahead and called to receive a quote from Vivint. Since I am shopping around for the best security system for my family. I was not comfortable with how they tie you in with the 60 months. So I politely told the sales rep on the phone- that I needed to speak to my husband first. He kept INSISTING to get me to leave a $49 deposit that will be refunded if we decide not to go with them. I said no, he insisted again. I then said no, I need to make sure before leaving my card information. He then gets snappy and said even if I call back today, the promotion will no longer be valid. Instead of 49 it would be 100 and they would not give me the $200 discount on the camera and the monthly rate will go up because of that. Honestly, he scared me! He kept repeating my name, Maria Maria, and trying to force me. I then said, "I'm sorry it’s getting too pushy, I will give a call back if anything, bye."

    Shortly after I got a text from a 801-796-2743 saying: "Hey this is with Vivint Smart Home. I was trying to be truthful and upfront with you and instead you cut me off and hung up on. There was no reason to be rude to me and act this way when I was trying to take care of you and your husband the best way possible. There is a difference with being pushy and being honest. Thank you for your time I hope you have a wonderful experience with Guardian." That scared me even more and got me upset. Now I was being rude because I didn't do what he demanded?? I never in my life got customer service this way and never been called rude. Thank God I didn't fall for it. If he treated me this way now, imagine how I would have been treated as a customer for 60 (5 years) long months?

    My daughter and son-in-law had Vivint in their home. I was referred to Vivint so I chose them as my security company. I have the standard package and everything is fine with the features that are included in it. So far, everything has been good with the service. The only problem that I've had is with my doorbell camera. Every time we lose power, we lose it, so that's an inconvenience. But it could be that they used our existing doorbell system instead of running a new one. The reps have been very helpful. They're available on the phone to help and whenever we've had questions or concerns, the response has been quick. Everything was fine with the team that installed the security system. Overall, the quality of our system is fine and it does what we need it to do. I would recommend Vivint.

    Vivint looked like they were the easiest setup. I've had them for about two years now and their representatives have been good and the system keeps running, so there have been no issues. The quality of the equipment is also fine, although it is a little hard to scroll back through videos. It goes quickly and it is a little jerky. I’ve only used it on the phone app and it is hard to find where it has just stopped.

    I'm not satisfied with Vivint. I was looking for a user manual for a brand new system and they said they only do the guides online. However, my daughter told me Vivint sends them in the mail. I don't do online so I tried to do it via mail but Vivint said they don’t use mail services. I didn’t know that was gonna happen until the very end when I talked to someone from Vivint on the phone. Also, it took a while to have the system set up. But the person who installed it and the manager who introduced me to the new system were good.

    I had it put in and oh so this is great and that, fact I had to call them late one night because it was literally 106 f. in my home and I was sick and had been going through this for almost a week. They wanted to walk me through and a heating and air company as someone said I'm not a technical person is why I pay them. I finally got someone to give me a phone number of Hiller a heating and air company and I had to call them and plead my case and they came out and finally fixed it and got my air back to working. They said and put in writing that the system was installed wrong. I paid over two hundred dollars and have yet to get a dime of my money back, I get a not connected to wifi, reboot, try this try that every day.

    Wish my right hand raised in a swear I have had the door Ring to work one week and never again so when I'm away I never know if someone is at my door or stealing off my property because the damn thing has never worked and I've tried to get help from chat, etc and customer service who directs me back to chat whom either hangs up or of no help. I will cancel these people as soon as the same day this contract is up, and my grown kids have been advised to steer clear of these people and stay with ADT. It's just a shame the way people lie to you and will say anything to get up caught up in a contract but what they don't consider is you have family and friends looking for security, etc and you'll always tell them stay away from these people.

    We already had security services when a rep from Vivint knocked on our door. He was nice, professional, patient and answered all our questions. His presentation was a little bit of everything and I thought Vivint was a better service. We had the camera doorbell and we could get an inside camera. We did not have to make any changes with the wiring because our house is hardwired for the doors, windows and the smoke detector. We are very satisfied with our decision to switch to Vivint. We have been with them for a couple of years now and we’ve been happy.

    Vivint's reps came around hustling everybody when we were living in Alaska and the only reason we signed up for it was a friend of ours, who used the State Trooper, signed up himself and recommended we do too. They were some of the dumbest people on the planet. At that time, our coverage at the house was for the Alaska State Troopers, but Vivint hooked us up to report to the Wasilla Police Department who never came out. That took three months to get sorted out. But once it all got sorted out, the service up there was not bad.

    When the system went off when we were away from the house, a Wasilla policewoman showed up and looked over the house. She said that there was nothing wrong. When we called Vivint to find out why on earth it had gone off since we had no break-in, the people that we talked to were nice. They tried to help us, but they didn’t have the foggiest notion of what might be wrong with the system. I realize stuff happens, but it got frustrating.

    Then, when we moved, we had the thing installed down here in Washington. Every single sensor they put up fell off the wall and the door. It was a disaster. You haven't lived until you wake up in the middle of the night in a gunfight or a crowd wondering who was coming through your door. It turned out nobody was. I finally took those things up and glued them to the wall with Gorilla Glue. One of them still didn’t work so they sent us another one. I took it out and glued it up. So far, it hasn’t fallen off. I was singularly unimpressed with the young lady that I called to fuss about that. She said that they do get bad glue. Other than that, the system is protecting the house well now. All I want it to do is go off if we have anybody trying to break in. I’ll take care of it from there. Nothing has fallen off the walls in the last year, which is an improvement.

    We got conned into being beta testers for a car burglar alarm. We didn’t have to pay anything for it, but it is absolutely worthless. We yanked one of them off the car because we had other purposes for that particular plug, plus the car spends most of its life in the garage. Then we had it on our pick-up. It eventually just died and failed to report a 300-mile trip. We got another year before we go to ADT, but if we don’t have any more problems in that year, we won’t go.

    The first team who installed my Vivint security system was excellent. I have a doorbell cam, a camera in my great room and a backyard camera with motion sensor. I've also got the alarm panel and I have doors and windows on that. We had the system moved after we bought a home but the second experience of installation was rough. The guy that did it put my panel in the most awkward spot which was half an inch to the side of a triple light switch. I had to call Vivint back and have them move it, but they didn’t do anything for me on that.

    Aside from that, it took six months after we moved for my smartphone to be able to answer the front door. It didn’t shut off at the other house, so when I would bring it up in my account, it would bring the old house up. Vivint didn’t care about that either. I kept calling and they kept trying until finally, they put in a ticket to the whole team so people could figure it out for me. They never called me back so I called them six months later and it got fixed. Overall, I like Vivint. I love checking my doorbell when somebody rings it and I'm at work. I feel safer having the system in my home.

    First of all it is day one of having the system installed and already I'm having issues out of the batteries and the connection to the power. I called in and customer service told me that the earliest that he could have a Tech out was March 5th, 2019 and that is nearly two weeks away. "Ridiculous" two weeks without a functioning system that I would be still paying for. Only after mentioning that I was still within my cancelation period did he say he could get someone out in a couple of days. Also I was never informed about the no contract option (which applies if you pay for the system up front) when purchasing my Vivint system. This is starting out bad so I'm calling first thing in the morning on day two to get rid of this service!!!

    The sales representative at Vivint explained everything in detail and the installation team was in and out quickly. We have the interior camera, the doorbell camera, the sound alarm where if a window were to break, and some smoke detectors. My wife and I both have the app and it works well. We can use the cameras when we are away from the house and spot-check what is going on. Our sense of security has improved since having the system. I have had a conversation with coworkers and I told them that I had no issues with the service, as well as with customer service.

    We were coached by a Best Buy employee to go with Vivint. Based on what he had to say, it sounded like it was a good choice. We also liked that it was a monthly fee and we could add however much we wanted to as far as features go. We were able to customize the system to our home instead of paying per item. However, we wanted to install a Nest, which was supposed to be compatible but then it wasn’t. The salesperson told us that it would be compatible and that they would be able to tell if we could make it compatible. Someone came and looked at a wire and said it was not compatible. So, although we signed up for Nest, it was never installed. I still have a box of the equipment sitting in my closet that’s going nowhere. The second one was the doorbell. But that hasn’t been working in months either. So, we technically don’t even use our Vivint service anymore.

    We installed Vivint's system sometime in June. Throughout the summer, I called and called Vivint. I had a field tech there three times to install, reinstall and check. He did a bunch of different things to our walls and outlets and left a constructive mess. The doorbell was installed a little oddly, so it's at a weird angle. I called to have them fix it, but the tech couldn’t. The agents that I spoke to on the phone coached me in rebooting their system. I’ve tried that a few times, but it has never worked.

    The last thing that was determined was that it wasn’t Vivint that needs to be fixed. Instead, it’s our internet. But then when our internet service came to fix, they said the problem was Vivint. All of this was going on while I was heavily pregnant. So, in the course of the last six months, I was like, “You know what? Not gonna deal with this anymore.” It was frustrating because, during that time, we were robbed, and we were the only people on our block that didn’t have footage because our Vivint wasn’t working. And after that, I gave up on Vivint. I remember speaking to a customer service person over the summer and told that person that I would not pay them as I was not getting any service. They said they would waive the charges for a month or two. It’s basically been a back order. I tried to reboot everything back up again weeks ago. Again, I gave up after it didn’t work right.

    Worst company to ever do business with. I would rate them zero stars if I could! My unit stopped working within 6 months of being installed. They wanted to charge me $150 to come out and fix the problem, which I think is pretty insane. I refused to pay it. My unit has now been disconnected for 2 years, all parts removed from my house, I am stuck unable to break the $60.00 a month contract without having to pay out an enormous exit fee. A few days ago I received an email that a $1.48 a month increase is coming March 1st 2019. "Cell network maintenance fee" absolute **. The amount of times I've called in and told them it has been disconnected and removed. I would stay as far away from these guys as you possibly can, they are the worst company to ever deal with. Not worth even talking to them at the door.

    We have Vivint with our previous home. When we received a contract to sell our house I contacted Vivint to cancel. I was told that all I had to do was send an email and it would be canceled. The night before we sold our home (in November), I emailed them asking for our services to be canceled as we sold our home. Fast forward two weeks (now December) and Vivint pulled out monthly fee out of our account. I contacted them and was told that it takes 30’days to cancel the system. (I wasn’t told that previously at all.) So I wanted until the end of that month and called again to make sure my system was canceled. They stated because of the Christmas holiday that it was taking longer than usual but would be canceled within the next few days.

    In January they pulled our monthly bill out again, called back to Vivint and they said they never received my cancellation and that’s why I was charged. I was able to forward them the email that I had originally sent in the middle of November and was told again my system would be canceled immediately. They also told me a refund would be issued within the next 2/3 days. After a week of waiting I called back again about the refund and was told that the refund was never processed because our system was still active. Finished the phone call because I was reassured that this time it was for sure canceled and a refund would be issued.

    Finally got my refund at the end of the week: The next week I received calls saying that our system was offline and to call Vivint back to fix the problem. I called Vivint yet again and was told that it takes the system a while to be canceled but that it was being processed. I was also reassured that I wouldn’t get charged in February and that the system was on its way to being canceled. Lo and behold the beginning of February not only is my account charged but we started receiving calls again about our system being offline. I called again for the third month in a row, was told that the cancellation was never processed, and they had no record of any emails I had ever sent. I forwarded the email again, and was told again that the system was going to be canceled and I would be issued a refund.

    It took me 3 more phone calls to finally get the system canceled. However I still hadn’t received my refund for being wrongly charged if February. I called them again today and was assured 100% my system is canceled and that I needed to wait a few more weeks for my refund as it was automatic so to call back at that time. I refused to believe it would take that long and was transferred to customer loyalty. They told me that they don’t know who put the notes in my account that it was automatic but that it wasn’t and had never been processed. I was then told today that the refund would be in my account in the next 2/3 days. Word to the wise, don’t go with this company if you ever plan on selling your house or canceling. AWFUL customer service, AWFUL communication and AWFUL company. Save yourself the money and time and use another company.

    I'm done with Vivint. The system freezes up all the time and it doesn't work. Right now, the panel at home has been frozen for that past week and a half. Also, my mobile throws me out of it all the time. I can't watch the security system like it says I can. I'm so sick of calling, too. It's too many phone calls that I've given and they do the whole, "Well, try this and that," but I shouldn't have to do that as I'm not a repair guy. It's like when my car breaks, I don't want a mechanic telling me how to fix it, I want him to fix it. It's not the customer service though, it's the service they provide that's crap.     We’ve had Vivint for seven years now and we have no complaints at all on our package. We upgraded a month ago with a couple more features such as the doorbell and the garage doors.     I signed up with Vivint and every time I call to complain, all they wanna do is get on the panels and play with those. Also, my front door camera sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. The control panel keeps freezing up too. I gotta call them and they gotta send a signal or reboot it. I’m getting tired of doing that. I’ve been asking around other people who’s got a security system. I’m gonna call theirs and see about just changing over to another security company.

    There was also one time that I had to pay for Vivint to come and fix the panel, not until I told them I was gonna drop it, and then they came out and half-way fixed it. This happened for eight months in a year. When they came out, they also said something about if I were to sign another contract, they would give me this or that. I told them I won’t sign any contract. I didn’t worry about that because they wouldn’t gonna be switching what I already had. They just wanna give me extra stuff I don’t really need.

    A salesman from Vivint came around the neighborhood and approached us. He was a good guy and pretty legit. He talked to us and he sold us on Vivint’s home security system. It was a good deal. We have had the system between 8 to 10 years. Their people came a year and a half ago to update some of the panels and the thermostat and so far, the service has been good. But when we got the new panel, it seems like our sensor got slower. It’s not bad but when we used to open our doors, we used to hear “back door open” or “garage door open” as soon as the door cracked.

    Now, when the door is open and I take a couple of steps in, it goes off. I know it’s a three-second delay but it seems like it delayed a bit than what it used to be with the old system. They came and changed out our sensors and our batteries to make sure everything was up but I don’t know. I was told that it might be a few bugs and they are trying to work it out with all the new stuff. Other than that, Vivint is good and when I leave to go to work early, my wife likes the system.

Though the other features are pretty basic, we added the doorbell most recently because we get a lot of people who come to our door.     Although the installation went well and I like the system, I am not pleased with the fact I have had to call several times. First the electronic door lock failed. Right after installation and it then failed again tech came and got it to work. He told me they can replace with a REFURBISHED one. A couple of days later I realized one thermostat wasn’t working right. Had to argue with them, but they finally changed with a new one. Now the smoke alarm needs new batteries after a few days. Means they put it up with weak batteries. I don’t like paying for new equipment and then have to call constantly with a problem. Also had to clean up after the installer left.

    Vivint tried to charge me for having somebody come out but when the rep got here, he got rid of the charge. It was frustrating and not what a company should do. I don’t mind paying the charge so much but having my system down for two weeks makes it a liability because I have a business at my house. I’m not getting what I’m paying for, regardless if they credit my account or not. I just want it to work.

    The time it takes me to answer my doorbell camera when somebody rings it is ridiculous. Sometimes, somebody leaves before I can even answer it. I sit there and hit the mic, but it doesn’t work. Yet, it worked great on my wife's phone. It’s not my phone because I have a brand new one and it did the same thing on my old phone. I have the latest phone and I just got a new one a couple of months ago and I had the same problem. My neighbor's house was robbed across the street and I tried to get footage for the police, and I could not get it. There were a bunch of time gaps and one of them was what I needed. Even on my wife's phone, there was nothing that I could produce for the police. I looked into other companies. I would like a hardline system where I don’t have to deal with playback problems because if I had a hardline system, I wouldn't have to worry about that.

    Vivint suddenly goes down and we never know why. They should have an email or a text message sent out that they’re doing an update because anytime anything gets updated on other apps, I get a notification. If I get a heads up that Vivint is updating the system and it goes down, I can call and get it fixed right away over the phone rather than sending a service tech out to fix the problem. Between the time that it goes down and the service tech shows up, that's time that I could’ve just remedied the problem over the phone right away.

    The response of the staff with my concerns is quick but there is a lot of incompetence with whoever I'm speaking to on the phone because I know these problems could be remedied by a simple phone call and updating it on my side. There's a lot of lack of knowledge and training on Vivint's part. Maybe there's a turnaround problem that they have with inexperienced people. When a service tech comes out, they find the problem and update the control board, and it’s done. Vivint pushes through too many updates at once and from what I’ve been told, it causes the system to go down. Now, I've been told that I should be able to get an upgrade at the control panel. With an update, the control panel should just update on its own.

    The quality of Vivint's home security system could be better. I have their door lock, indoor camera and glass break sensors. The door lock is finicky at times and you always have to change its battery, the indoor camera I don't care for as it just points at one place, and as for the glass break sensors, they told me that they're a good feature to have but I don't think they're necessary. They also cost me $800 more. My interactions with their sales rep have been good, but sometimes I wish it was more local. For instance, once, my alarm went off and said that there was a fire. I was away from home then. If it was local, like what my neighbor across the street has, it would be easier. Then, there were a couple of times where I was speaking to one of their reps and the person didn't really get what I was saying. It aggravated me.

    Some guys from Utah came by and offered Vivint services. My son already had their security system. But my experience with Vivint the first time wasn't good. I got the windows and the doorbell and the first guy installed them badly. He punched a lot of holes and the wire was on the outside of the house. They did a mess. But the second guy did everything he was supposed to do and installed everything right. He did a very good job. We have a problem with the system once in a while. Sometimes, It takes forever to connect and won’t download anything. But I don't know if it's the equipment or the Wi-Fi. Other than that, everything is working fine right now. I would recommend Vivint.

I’ve had to call them once because I got the thing set off by mistake and I needed to have it stopped, and the interaction I had with the representative was good. The response time was also good. Over time, these things have gotten less expensive, but Vivint hasn’t responded with any price reduction or better stuff.     The door-to-door salesman from Vivint talked to me and gave us his phone number to be in contact with him. However, we've had some issues and we couldn’t reach him at all. He ignored phone calls and text messages. We finally wound up dealing with the home office, but they also had problems reaching him. There is an account with Vivint for our house in New York and my husband has a house in Florida also with Vivint. We took both policies and we contracted at the same time.

    The salesman promised us buybacks, but there was an aggravation trying to get the buyback out of our first company and my husband also had problems trying to get a buyback out of the second company. It took months, which didn’t leave a good taste in our mouths. But once we pushed the salesman out of the loop and dealt with the corporate support, we were able to get things resolved. It wasn't done quickly, but they finally took care of things and it is running smoothly now.

    The quality of the system is good, but one of the issues we had with the Florida house was not good. We were in New York on a Saturday night and we got the call at 10:00 that the alarm was triggered. They said it was the motion detector. My neighbor came over and checked it out but didn’t call the police. A week later, we had the same incident. We also had an issue with the garage sensor. We got a phone call and they told us that our garage door was open, although it wasn’t. It was closed. So, we came back down to Florida and Vivint had a technician come to the house.

    They wanted to charge us, but we said, “This is ridiculous. You have problems here.” They found out that the motion detector was not even connected in my house. It was somebody else’s house and we were getting the alarms based on the motion detector on somebody else’s home. We were alerted for someone else’s alarm three times. The solution for the garage door was we just had to disconnect the sensor.

    In New York, a guy came to the door and said he was the district manager. He told me to call him if there were any problems. He said, “Yeah. Call me. Don’t bother going into the corporate. I'll get there right away. I'm local.” I called him twice because I had issues where the system wasn’t working with my thermostat. The keypad in the house wasn’t connecting with the thermostat. However, there was no way to contact him anymore and again, I had to go back to the corporate office. The system is good when it's working. I love the idea of being able to have the app open and close the doors. I like the touchpad for the door rather than having to use my key. I could have had it with my old company, but I was told that Vivint was gonna be cheaper, but it still remains to be seen because we've just gone through the buyout.

    I appreciated the time and effort that the Vivint salesman spent to share with me about their services. It was pretty much the salesperson that won me over other companies, although there are a lot cheaper products that don’t have monitoring like Ring and camera that can connect to my phone and do the same thing. We didn’t compare initially, but after we bought the product, we compared and learned that there were a lot of cheaper options. But, then, we said, “Nah, that’s all right. We’re happy to pay because we have monitoring.” The installer was good at what he did and was friendly.

    My experience with Vivint has been great. I like the product that they offer and the service is good too, although I haven't taken advantage of the services. I really appreciate the home security, the cameras, and the panel. It’s all great stuff and I’m good with what they offer. We have all that we need. As a matter of fact, we would probably get it downgraded and not have one of the cameras because we’ve realized we don’t really use it all that often. It is more of a deterrent for people to make an entry to our house so we just have the camera there. It is a comforting thing knowing that the Vivint system is there. People who see a sign that we have cameras up will likely move to a house that doesn’t have the sign or the cameras up, so we have a sense of peace and security because of that.

    I’m certain this company does not care about their customers. Once they weasel their way into your house they leave you in the dust. My system is more a bother than anything at this point. I’m looking for another system and then I’m dumping Vivint. The last time I complained and had to pay through the nose to get new door handles because the ones they installed fell apart... They said they upgraded my account to free batteries and no charge for service calls. Lie, they sent batteries once and came out once because I threatened to discontinue service. Now they say they couldn’t possibly have given me free service calls or batteries!!!

    Tonight my smoke alarm needed batteries. I replaced them and it sent a fire alarm to Vivint. They came over the speaker. They couldn’t help other than to not call fire dept. Told me to call customer service. I did. They said pull batteries for the night and try tomorrow. Sure hope my house doesn’t catch fire in the Mean time!! Seriously!!!     When Vivint people came to our door out of the blue, I was a little nervous about even talking to them because I had never heard of them at that time and they wanted to talk to about home security. They were professional-looking and well-prepared. They knew their stuff. Then for the installation, the team called ahead of time, showed up, came in and got the system installed. They really didn’t get in the way and I’m happy with the system. They’ve got pretty much the same features as everybody else but the pricing on their equipment plans could get a little bit more competitive. It's a little steep.     Motion sensors have not worked since day one. Both have been replaced. Told I could only cancel after I pay off the equipment even though it has never worked. Scheduled an appointment after work only to be called back and told they don’t work overtime so I would have to take off work or do it on a weekend. The worst customer service ever and they do not obviously stand by there equipment. BIG MISTAKE PURCHASING THIS EQUIPMENT AND SERVICE. UGH!

    I didn’t have a security unit when Vivint representatives came to the front door and I figured it was a good way to start. You gotta customize for every house and I got what I felt like I needed at the time. A guy and a girl took care of the all the indoor installations and there were a couple of things that took longer. The outdoor cameras had to be wired in through the roof and the attic. I had my son help them with that so that worked out fine. It took about an hour and the thing worked out fine.

    But right now, my temperature thing up there on the wall is offline. And it stays offline most of the time. Once in a while, it would pop open and you would see the light up there. It would say the thermostat is offline. Sometimes I've had to take the panel off the thermostat then reapply it and it does seem like it goes back online. But it doesn't stay that long. The outdoor cameras also went offline but they came in and took care of that. That's the only issue I've had so far and everything else seems to be okay. The service people are here locally and I had no issues with them at all. I've gotten along real well with them. Even the service techs I've talked to on the phone have been very good also. The salespeople had also been very good and I enjoyed talking to them.

    I liked the features that Vivint had to offer and their response time to alarm calls really stuck out for me. My neighbors found the reps to be a little too aggressive with their sales pitch. But I was in the market and I was willing to listen to and deal with what they were saying, so it worked out for my situation. The installation was fantastic and very straightforward. The installer was very informative, efficient and clean. He told us everything he was doing while or before he did it. He set everything up, showed us how to use it, and was gone. The quality of the features offered in our system is good. The only real issue we've had is that every time we lose power, there's a power flicker. The panel has to be rebooted or the battery doesn't charge. Other than that, everything works great. We definitely feel much more secure having that little bit of buffer between the outside world.

    I notice that there's some latency in getting our camera to see our stuff online. We look for clips for all three of our cameras and we're not seeing all of our clips. Now we're having an issue with our doorbell where when we set our alarm, the doorbell rings. I did a reboot earlier this last week, and it still does it. Other than that, the cameras are working fine. Vivint's customer service has been helpful, knowledgeable and professional.

    The team that installed the Vivint system was okay. The salesperson was also there momentarily. But there are some things with the system that can’t get hooked up to my internet. The installers were probably there for an hour or more but then she just gave up. So the system is not hooked up to my internet and it basically doesn’t do me any good when I’m not there. I can’t look online. I can’t look on my phone and see who’s at the door if there’s somebody there. I've had the service since August and I don’t know what to do with it. I’m an old lady and I need better directions. But they didn’t give me a whole lot of instructions. There was nothing printed that I could look at so that I would know what I was doing. I'm not happy with Vivint. I thought I needed something like this but I guess I didn’t.

    I heard about Vivint from a friend who told me they got a discount. When I got into it, Vivint told me I was also gonna have the same discount. But I still haven't seen that discount. I've come to find out that my friend got it as a promotional thing because he was one of the first houses in his neighborhood to get the service. So I was confused about that. I guess I wasn't one of the first houses in my neighborhood. Vivint also told me the contract would only be two years. But later on, I found out I'm on a four-year contract. So after my four-year contract, I'm not going to stay with them because I don't like to be told one thing and then something else happened.

    On top of that, the people Vivint sent to my home all looked like children. They were convincing me that they had to put a hole somewhere. But that hole couldn't be used so it was actually not necessary. They covered it up with some white stuff and they had to make another hole. It was crazy. I also didn't like that when the motion sensor wasn't working, Vivint asked me to do it myself. They said to send a technician would cost me money. I told them that if I would go and fix it myself, I would want to be reimbursed for half the bill for the next month because they couldn't expect me to do what a technician is supposed to do. They said they were going to reimburse me for the cost of the battery if I went and bought it. Then they walked me through putting it in the system.

    The system is very good though. I can use my phone to turn it on and off, and those features are very good. But when it comes to the customer service, it's not so good. It takes you a very long time to get someone on the phone and when you get someone on the phone, the minimal help you get is unacceptable. It's unprofessional.

    I have had this service for a yr. It has been terrible. Issue after issue. Cameras go down constantly and the Skybox loses wifi. This could be the worst service I have ever had.     I got my doorbell, front door lock, and indoor camera from Vivint. I live on the second floor and sometimes, people ring on the door. Also, if somebody would break into the house, the cameras would help me a lot. The team that did the installation knew what they were doing and it was a good experience. So far, Vivint's service has been good. Everything is working fine with regards to the connection over the internet and their team is fast to answer my calls. However, I have experienced a few issues with the connection of the cameras. Also, once in a while, the doorbell would go offline. I have already called service a couple to times to have that reconnected and we've been able to reconnect it, but then it still goes offline. That's the downside of the system because the connection is wireless - sometimes it breaks. Maybe there is something to configure, but I haven't figured out exactly which settings to configure.

    I’m only giving 1 star because I have to give something. Do NOT get Vivint unless you really enjoy self-torture. We’ve had massive issues with them over the duration of the contract we signed but most currently I am sitting at our house with our smoke detector going off and Vivint refusing to send a technician out because it ‘looks fine’ on their end. I have 3 animals at home stressed to the max because we can’t get it to stop beeping. The most they have offered is to mail us a different smoke detector that we then install ourselves. We’ve replaced the batteries and called them twice. I truly can imagine what this would be like if we had a baby or children in the house. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. I’m not the type to write a bad review unless it’s something that is egregious and has been consistent. Vivint has been both. Save your money and your sanity and go with someone else. We will be once our contract is up.

    I used to have Monitronics and when my house got broken into, I came home with my front door wide open. The alarm was going off for about 45 minutes and I think the alarm scared them off but I was very upset that no one notified me that there was a situation. I never got a call from Monitronics and never got a call from the police. Then, two weeks later, one of Vivint’s rep was wandering around the neighborhood, telling me about theirs and they told me that they can replace our system with a better one. After talking with them, they had a pretty good rate. They set me up with a home security system and I have been with them for eight years now.

    During the installation, I asked the installation team about different things and they were helpful. They set up a couple of motions sensors and door sensors so if the door is open, it will let me know. They also detect glass breakage if something breaks so they put several motions sensors in. But, they could not help me out with my 20-foot square shipping container that I am using as a workshop. I asked them if there was any way to put a motion sensor. I was told that because it is a metal shipping container, it would block the signal. I also asked them if they can put like a contact system outside of it but they still said no. They would not be able to do it. I told them that if they put a system on the inside, all they need is like a little lead wire off of it for the antenna, drill a small hole through the wall, stick the antenna wire through the wall, then put a little silicon around it. It should go ahead and work for them.

    I was told that they will talk to their technical support group and see if that would work. I never heard back from them so I got one building in my property that’s not protected. But I have installed my own security cameras inside and outside to help bolster, that I can bring them up on my phone and see what’s going on if I get an alert. I was originally very satisfied with their service but right now, not so much. I am having problems with my control pad in the house and if I leave the house, it’ll beep once at me. It won’t say whether it’s armed away. I have to reset it, disarm it then rearm it, and then it’ll say, “System armed away”. I also keep getting error messages on one of my key fobs. It says that it’s low in battery so I put new batteries on it but it still says that. I don’t know whether the key fob is going bad or not registering.

    When I called Vivint, they told me that our panel is obsolete and when they get someone in the area, they’ll come by and will upgrade our panel. Since then, I haven’t heard back from them. However, when we get to speak to an actual person, it is not too bad. They try to help and they are very courteous and very professional. But I gotta go through several different prompts to get to an actual person on the phone and that could be improved a bit better. They called me a while back though saying they received an alarm when I left the house. I didn’t have my back door secured properly and when we had some strong winds, it blew the door open. I have their phone app on my phone that tells me that the back door is open and that it needs to be checked out.

    I was about five minutes away so I went by and the police were just pulling up. They asked me if I wanted them to check the house. I told them I just forgot to shut the door real tight. They came in with me, no one was in the house and nothing was missing. They were prompt in contacting the police and I got a notice almost immediately on my phone. I also received a follow-up phone call from their reps about 30 seconds after I got the phone message. Their service, in that aspect of it, has been good.

    Vivint came up to us and asked us if we wanted the system. Their representatives were really professional. They explained everything about it and they were good people. The installer was great, but there were some little details that needed to be fixed. I addressed it to the team member who pitched the idea. He called the installer and they went over it, but it wasn't a great job. I've noticed a little bit of distortion on the camera, which has a low quality. But I'm okay with that. I've stopped using the system and don't really look into it anymore, but my wife does. I haven't been able to download it on my phone. My wife still has it on hers, but I lost the password and haven't had the chance to deal with it. Even though there haven't been any break-ins, having the system gives me peace of mind of what's going on around my house, which is a great thing.

    Vivint came by in the first two years that my housing truck was built. They were there every week. Finally, when I found out there were some break-ins going on, I talked to one of my neighbors who had Vivint and he said that he liked it, so I went with his words. I was out of town on business when they did the installation but my wife was there and she set up everything. By the time I got home, it was already done. The system is easy to access.

    I've called Vivint multiple times about my doorbell not picking up people coming and going. I went in and out of the house three or four times, and it didn't show up on my doorbell camera that I was even gone or in and out of the house. It does that quite a bit and we've had quite a bit of break-ins in neighborhood, so we actually caught people on camera. But my youngest son unplugged something, and then it wasn't recording, so we couldn't go back in time to show the cop what was going on. When I called Vivint, the technician walked me through sensitivity and how to turn it up, but it still doesn't work. It still picks up people, but not every time people go in and out of the house.

    The Vivint reps were pretty nice. As far as asking questions or technical support, they're pretty knowledgeable and helpful. I called three months after getting the system and I wanted to add another camera. They said it was gonna cost me an arm and leg to do it, so I didn't do that. Overall, the service is good. I like that you're able to go back in time to see what was being recorded. I know a lot of my other friends that got the Ring and they don't have that.

    My 85 year old aunt, who lives alone and has a large No SOLICITING sign on her front door, unfortunately opened the door to a VIVINT salesman, thinking it was a relative who was arriving. He told her how much she needs a security system, how unsafe she is without one... And basically scared her into letting him call his installer. His installer started putting the system by her front door while she told them both that she enters and exits the house through her garage door and does not walk fast enough to turn it off at the front door. Neither would listen to her. While the system was being installed, she told the salesman she does not have internet, nor an email address. He told her that was fine, he would make up an email for her. She signed nothing while he was there and was told not to worry because if she was not satisfied with the system, it would be removed free of charge.

    She never once set the alarm and a little over a month later started calling Vivint to come and remove the system. They told her she will have to pay them well over $500 for the equipment or will have to continue to make the monthly payments until she pays for the equipment in full and meets her contract terms. She told them she never signed a contract and they said she did. She asked them to mail it to her and when it arrived we could both tell that they copied her signature (from her credit card). No 85 year old could write their name as small as they showed her signature to look on this contract.

    Several family members, including myself, have called Vivint to try to get them to take out this system and not charge her over $500 due to this fraudulent salesman. They always tell us they're referring it to someone else (who is really in charge there???) and then when she calls she's told if she doesn't pay that huge fee for equipment they will refer her to the credit bureau. This of course scares her once again. This company is horrible. If you have an elderly friend or relative DO NOT let them deal with Vivint! I will not stop until I let everyone I know and everyone on the internet world know about this company that takes advantage of 85 year old women. I hope the salesman, Dylan, is happy with his $800 commission!!! Ugh!

    Vivint seemed to have a lot of the features that we wanted, and the price seemed to be about right. We signed up for a couple of extra features, and those haven't been as helpful as we'd like. But as far as the core security stuff, it's done exactly what it's supposed to do. Everybody has been great. We had an issue with the front door lock that stopped working, and they were really good about sending over the replacement. The techs did a great job too. They went in and everything went smoothly and quickly.

    My friend in Atlanta has Vivint and I decided to try them as well. Their sales representative was really good. He was thorough, very friendly and informative about this system. The installer was quick. It took him about an hour to get everything up and running. He told me everything he was about to do, then he did it. He was very thorough as well. My system is better than the one that my friend has. It is set up such when I leave the house, and my heater goes on conserving energy. I can also do it for nighttime or for when I'm on vacation. Once I put the house on lock and away, it does all those things. My smoke alarm is very sensitive though. If I'm cooking something and a little smoke gets up, the thing goes off. I've had the fire department come because of that.

    I like the way that you can see the person through the doorbell. It lets me know if somebody rang the doorbell. Both of my daughters also have the code. They'd call me and tell me so-and-so is at the house or they'd let me know when the doorbell rings. I also like the camera that I have in the den and that I can see when people are in there. When I leave the house, I can pull it up on my phone to see if anybody has been there. I'm also very confident that if anything happens, Vivint would let me know.

    Vivint security system is a lie when they omit to make you believe their system works. They don't tell you the cameras will not work together, the cameras work one at a time, sure it appears that way because they let you see the cameras are on, BUT, it does not. For example: I have three cameras, I noticed the back (pool area) was not recording, then the front was not recording at all times or alerting any movements SIMULTANEOUSLY. They want to charge for extra items that they led you to believe you had. You don't know THERE ARE ITEMS YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR TO MAKE YOUR CAMERAS WORK PROPERLY until after you have been with them, then they tell you the time you have been with them. In other words you don't have a window to complain.

    They make you believed what was said during selling you Vivint was exactly what you needed UNTIL you notice or check, then it becomes YOU HAVE TO BUY THIS ITEM OR THAT ITEM... And when you do have an issue that you noticed they want you to troubleshoot it yourself, they will not send anyone until you convince them, "This was not told to me", so now they convince you to troubleshoot or you won't get your issue fixed by a rep until you do it yourself. Then comes the item that you need, they want to charge at a break price, but I should not have to pay. That is not what the sale rep said. NOW they are indirectly calling you a liar.

    When you want to talk to their supervisor, the chat goes like this "that is fine but he will tell you the same". I end up talking to the supervisor that DID say the same and assumed the customer was is not telling the truth "ME". Then the supervisor does not want to put you through the manager without giving you a hard time, then you finally talk to the manager and he said the same. When you want the corporate number and name of his supervisor he said "I can't give you their email or number because that is personal". ARE YOU SERIOUS? THAT IS NOT A PERSONAL NUMBER.

    I have never been called a liar and after telling him to check with the recordings or talk to the sales rep if need be, he said, "You have to pay". I explained that it was not the money. It was the sales rep telling me I would get the service he said and omitting the extras that would cost money to get 24 hrs monitoring. OMITTING IS THE SAME AS LYING, IF NOWHERE ELSE BUT IN COMPANIES THAT ARE SELLING. I would never ever recommend the company, you are better off buying ring that would allow you to monitor 24 hrs after you buy the equipment and download the app. Vivint makes their money by omitting and pushing people to pay more and more... Imagine the elderly being sucked into this company. What a shame... I believe in each one teach one, this is why I need others to know the crap they have to look forward to. Then they call you a liar.

    I signed a contract with Best Buy and paid for monitoring for a year and all the cameras and was told that I would have camera access through an app with or without monitoring when after one year I cancelled my monitoring and Vivint cancelled my app access to my cameras. When I called customer service they passed me around and told me I was a small list of Best Buy customers that they will not give app access to without monitoring, opposite of what I was told when I purchased and that some Best Buy customers can have access for 4.99 or 9.99 but they won't give to me. I was hung up on when I asked Adam customer service rep to transfer me after being on the phone for 1.5 hours. Horrible company. Be careful not to commit to their equipment or monitoring contracts.

    I ordered via phone call a system including various motion and door/window sensors. I was very specific, and the rep (Brady **) repeated back to me each item. The installer showed up with much less than what I ordered, saying that "this is what I show was ordered". VERY FRUSTRATING. Brady said it was a recorded call, so Vivint has the evidence to support my version of events.

    The installer did install what he showed the order to be, adding two window/door sensors that he claimed were not part of the order. When he was finished, he was rushing to leave without properly testing the system for us. When we insisted, we found out the motion alarm did not work. He made adjustments to it, and got it to work, then promptly left. 15 minutes later we discovered that the back door sensor would NOT detect at the panel. We had to call Vivint and they walked us through a bunch of steps, none worked. They told me they'd call the installer and have him return, and call me to confirm. No call came, and suddenly the door sensor began to work. We called Vivint to report this and to cancel the installer's return, they said they couldn't get hold of him anyway! I asked why they didn't call me back to let me know, the lady had no idea! Not happy campers, and we're still having some issues with the panel.

    Everything has been great with Vivint. I have their smoke alarm and glass break features. Functionality-wise, the system is easy. I just turn it on and off. But I don't use the keypad anymore. When there was something going on with the box, I called Vivint. The rep ended up having to send someone out and the issue was taken care of. If I set the alarm off accidentally or if something happens, they call right then.

    At first I wasn't going to have a new Vivint home security system installed because we already had a system that had been professionally installed but it had been a number of years. What I was most interested in was the doorbell camera as we live in a rather large house and often find ourselves downstairs away from the sound of the doorbell.     I moved from a condo building to a new house and to have peace of mind, I decided to purchase a security system. I customized my system with Vivint depending on what was required, depending on entry points, motion sensors plus two years of the contract. More recently, I tried contacting Vivint for changing the equipment I have to reflect the latest technology. I told them if they could give me something comparable, I'll continue being with Vivint. Otherwise, I would go with another company. I'm continuing with the company a long time and they should be replacing my equipment at no additional cost. I talked to customer service and they said they will respond. In the end, nobody responded.

    I already have most of the stuff and so when a Vivint agent knocked on my door, they offered me the free cameras and the Nest thermostat. I got the cameras, the camera and doorbell, and my system uses the motion sensors and window breaks that I already have. The kid who installed the system did a great job. The cameras that I have, however, never work. When I reach out to Vivint, it takes 45 minutes to get them on the line. When I do get through, the reps are helpful but then it takes them another 45 minutes to try everything. I don't have an hour and a half to sit there and to try to diagnose my own problems. Vivint's service is horrible and I'm not satisfied with them. I should have stayed with ADT.

    I would first and foremost like to say that I've been a Vivint customer for three and a half years. I got tricked into sighing a contract which they never told me was 6 years long! I mean my leased car is shorter than that, and of course theres no way to get out of the contract unless you pay all the equipment fees plus the remainder of what your bills would be which is ridiculous, that right there tells you how much they're dying for customers. I've had a couple problems in the past with my thermostats that the technicians couldn't figure out. I was out of air conditioner in Texas for a week in the dead of summer and they couldn't do anything for me. I kept telling them that there was no issue with the actual unit but since the thermostat and my a/c unit communicate wirelessly it kept telling the unit not to turn itself on.

    I was on the phone for three hours, mind you after the week in the heat! And finally they came to the conclusion that the thermostat was broken. DUH. And the fastest they could send me one was five days. WHAAAATTT. Me and my family had already endured one whole week and the kicker was that if I wanted it that "fast" I would have to install it myself because a technician was extra. Then it turned out to take longer than two weeks. That was three months ago. Today I call because I see that they have much better deals now than what I got three years ago and they tell me the only way they can give me a $10.00 discount is if I sign on to 18 more months, but they disguise the way they tell it to you to try to slip it by you, I asked again, "Are you telling me you're extending my contract?" They said, "Of course how else are we going to give you a better deal and help you out."

    I told them it didn't make any sense for me to go under contract longer because all I wanted to do was leave their horrible company as fast as I could, mind you I still have to wait a year in a half or cough up 1300.00 to get out of contract, he told me well if I wanted to go with these cheaper alternatives that have all they're equipment made in China I would have to wait, I could no longer be on the phone with that horrible man so I just said goodbye. I get off the phone with him and check my Vivint products for where they're made and guess what they say? Made in China!!! Take my advise and run as fast as you can from this co. and don't get roped into a contract with people who don't care about your security or comfort. JUST MONEY!!!

    Vivint came to my door and I liked that I didn’t have to have a phone line with them because I didn’t have a landline. So, that was kinda my sell and I signed up with them. I like the cost of their service and the fact that with it, I can access my stuff through my phone. So, if I forgot to set the alarm, I can just go into the app and do it from there. I have also dealt with Vivint's reps and so far, my experience with them has been good and bad. The people who came out were very nice and I didn't feel on-guard with them. They didn’t make me feel uncomfortable with having a strange man in my house with me, so that was kinda refreshing. They seemed very thorough as well and made sure everything was tested correctly.

    But I have a lot of problems with the remotes working consistently and lasting. And every time a remote stops functioning correctly, I have to pay $50 to get a new one instead of it just being replaced as a standard service. So that’s pretty frustrating. Also, I’ve had to replace several remotes and the newest one only lasted for about a year. Plus, I found that if you’ll put in a new battery in a new remote, two days later, it says the battery’s low again. So, the problem is with the remote itself, not the battery. I’ve run through all my remotes, too, and I’m to the point now where I’m gonna have to send another $50 to replace a remote so that I have one that works without setting the alarm off because when the remote says it has a little battery, it sets off the alarm to notify you to change it.

    But other than the remote, I’ve had the exact same monitor which is a touch screen and I like it. It tells me the weather and all of that stuff, so that’s kinda neat. I like that there’s a panic option on the remote as well, though I feel like the images on the buttons of the new remotes could be a little bit better. The lock and the unlock buttons look very similar, so it’d be easy to hit the wrong button.

    Working with the Vivint rep was good, they were easy to get in touch with and they explained everything to me. Also, the installers were very nice. Since I have kids, I included in my package the smoke detector, the glass break feature, and the key fobs and a camera in my living room. I also have two of those things on the windows and then the doors. When I first got the system, I used it a lot. I hardly use it now though. The only thing I use now is the front door thing to get in with the code.

    Vivint was in our neighborhood installing security systems. The technology that they had at that time was a little more upscale than what we had. I got a hold of one of their guys that installed the system for us. We've had Vivint for three years now and I've had their people out here a couple of times. We added more cameras inside the house. Their people were very knowledgeable. Vivint is doing a great job at the time being and I'd definitely recommend it. I like our system a lot and it's working fine for us.     The sales representative from Vivint was real knowledgeable about his product. He told us about what they offered, what they could do for us and what our needs were. But the installation took a little longer than what we thought. I was a little disappointed with that because I go to work really early in the morning. But they did call in extra people to get the job done. When they came through though, we have what I thought was a faster internet but they were having problems getting it to cooperate. The system seems to have a hard time transitioning when there is a break in the internet service. If we're closing the garage door with our phone sitting in the driveway and we lose the internet and go to our phone internet, a lot of times, it would say the garage door didn't close even when it did. But then if you go out of Vivint and click right back on it, when it comes back on, it'll show the garage door is closed.

    Nonetheless, the smartphone features are my favorite part. I like being able to shut the house, see who's at the door and open the garage when I'm on my way home on my motorcycle. I also leave and go to work early in the morning, and my wife is by herself. When I leave, I set the alarm and if somebody comes around the front door, the system alerts me. So I feel a lot more comfortable leaving my wife at home. I also pretty much got everything that we wanted in terms of features and we like everything.

    The Vivint sales representative who came by was very comfortable to talk to and to have in our home, and then the installation went great. But they've had to replace the doorbell twice. The first time, they told me there would be a service charge for the guy coming out and that infuriated me. Why would there be a service charge when it's their equipment? Plus the girl I was talking to was a tad rude or condescending, and that made me angry. What I get frustrated about too is that when I call, I do all the stuff they tell me. I have to get the step stool out, unscrew the top of the monitor and take it all. I had rebooted the system for what seemed like 100 times but I couldn't get it fixed. It's usually the doorbell. Either the doorbell camera won't work or the doorbell won't ring when someone pushes it.

    This last time that I called, they told me to pull that battery out, which is not easy to do. I've got arthritis in my hands. I said I was not gonna do it. The representative said she would send someone and I told her I didn't wanna pay the fee. It's like 100 years ago when we had regular phone and we had to call service people in. If it was your fault, you had to pay a fee. But if it was the equipment, you didn't. They did waive the fee and she was very nice about it. She did not make me feel like she was doing me this big favor.

    The guys are also great when they come out. They replaced the doorbells both times. This last guy told me that it was a newer one and it shouldn't have the problem that I was having, and everything's good now. Other than the fact that we've had the doorbell replaced twice, everything about the system is fine. The alarm goes off pretty good if I forget. If I set it then I walk out into the garage, it goes off. Generally, somebody calls from Vivint to see that everything's okay and that all seems fine. My husband goes out of town to work at the ranch and I like to set the alarm when he's not there. It makes me feel safer. That's the only time we really set it, when he's gone or when we're both gone.

    My son got Vivint and he showed me all the bells and whistles that he got. I thought it was pretty cool so we opted to give it a try. We were able to pick and choose the features that we wanted, like the doorbell camera. We also liked the fact that we could integrate the system with the stuff in our house and use it with our cellphones. We have our upstairs and downstairs heat and air integrated with it. We can also open and close the garage door and unlock and lock the back door that comes in from the garage. So if someone comes over during the day and they need access, even if we’re not there, we can allow them access if we want to. So it’s a neat package. It took a considerable amount of time to get it installed but the installers were all very nice and professional. They didn’t leave a mess either. So it was fine.

    It has also always been very good dealing with Vivint's representatives. They’ve always been able to answer most of our questions and they’ve always been very professional. We have a problem right now where our doorbell camera is not recording and I’m gonna have to talk with someone to get some help with that because we’ve tried all the online things that they told us to do. But other than that, we’ve been satisfied with the service. I even share with people all the time what we have with Vivint and we recently had my mother install it in her house.

    I like everything about the Vivint system. It's accurate. It tells you when the door is open, when it's closed and if the battery in the window is low. A couple of times, we've forgotten to take the alarm off and they called us to make sure everything was okay. The reps have responded to any questions that I ever had.     All employees have been very pleasant to deal with. Unfortunately, attention to detail and the ability to make things right are lacking. Here are the facts: System installed and not tested. As a result, when I was out of cell service, the motion sensor was triggered by one of my dogs. The technician knew about the dogs at install. Apparently did not test. Result, a $330 false alarm charge from my PD. Also, door lock was replaced with smart lock, but keys were not checked before leaving. Next day, I try to use manual key and it doesn’t work. More rework. More time waiting for a tech. More time on the phone with company. Lastly, tech should have provided info for alarm permit. Where to go, who to contact, cost. Not done and that is irresponsible.

    At the end of the day, no offer to make things right. Just "I’m sorry, you have to eat the $330." You have to eat the additional time away from work to be on calls and wait for technicians to do rework. If I wasn’t saddled with $2K of their equipment, I would leave. So, a C for working with nice a friendly people but people that can’t do the right thing the first time.

    Vivint is a rip-off company. I've had them for almost three years now and never in those three years have I ever used the system. I never turned this thing on because I never knew how to work it. I’m 72 years old and their guy explained this stuff so quickly that I didn’t know what he was talking about. Then when the system kept beeping one day, I was on the phone with one of their techs for four hours but the tech never helped me. So I don’t use the system and I stopped paying for it. They did offer to come out but for a charge of $70. My experience has been terrible. My mother complained too but then Vivint went and sent me a letter saying I was gonna have to pay them $2,000. For what? I get very angry when I hear anything about Vivint.

    Vivint's rep was pretty knowledgeable on the equipment and I had good interactions with him. Vivint has been protecting me for almost five years. My husband works out of state at times and I feel better knowing that my house is secured while I'm out and when I'm home. The system is easy to use. With my smartphone, I can use their app and they get notified. I have one camera and I can utilize the video. The app is a neat feature and I really like that.

    But I've been having trouble because the box and my internet are not communicating. I get these error messages that I can't clear up. The system doesn't talk to the sensors on the windows. I'll get a notification and I'll replace the batteries then it would work for a while, but then I would get the notification again. I don't know if the equipment is getting old. Vivint's people came out and they replaced the unit. It would be okay for a while but I would get a notice again. I haven't called Vivint back, though, because it's a brand-new unit. I do all the troubleshooting and I'd stay on the phone for hours doing everything. But the issue still would not get resolved.

    I got the whole package a few years ago, installer very nice, all went well...for a couple of weeks. Then batteries started failing in carbon detector and front door, cameras stopped recording, alarm kept beeping, everything was failing. I called multiple times, no one ever showed up to fix. So I called, told them until it's fixed, I'm not paying. Nothing worked properly. They are real nice until something goes wrong, then you are ignored. I ended up having to pay the account off of course and equipment still in my house, nonfunctional. They take your money and run. Worst company award goes to Vivint. If I could give zero stars, I would. This company caused me nothing but stress. At the time I got equipment and service, I was a single mom that just got out of an abusive marriage and at a time I needed to feel safe and make my children feel safe, Vivint failed us! Worst experience.

    Horrible installer situation. I climbed thru the roof myself to run cable after he told me it was impossible. Horrible job installing cameras. My house has a bunch of holes in it... very bad experience! He was lazy, and kept telling me what I wanted to hear, and then doing another.     System is completely unreliable, customer Service agents are rude, use stall tactics, and refuse to remove my system that was paid for with cash less than 12 months ago. I was also misled that since I paid cash for my system monthly monitoring fees would not be required. Completely dissatisfied and just want this garbage removed from my house and refund my cash. Typical bait and switch business practices. Would rate zero stars if option was available.

    One of Vivint's gentlemen was going around door-to-door and he was good. He knew what he was talking about, while the installation team that came and put the system in was excellent. They knew what they were doing and it didn’t take them all day long to install. They also told me everything about the system. I need to call them because I have the pendant and I want to know if I will be covered if I'm not at home. Otherwise, the features offered in my system are okay.

    The Vivint installer was very helpful but the service has fallen off since. I tried to call somebody when I was trying to put in a quick set smart door latch but I never got anybody to call me back. I also had to replace the doorbell camera because it wasn’t working very well. The whole doorbell system is problematic. The system doesn't respond quick enough. So when you get back to try and talk to somebody, it's too late. They've already walked off the door by the time you get your phone in gear and get back to the camera. While recording people at the door was fine, we stopped using the doorbell thing because it's slow and nobody ever gets there.

    Another thing about Vivint is that it's hard to add other things and very little of the hardware that was installed is useful with any other system. It does handle some Z-wave editions. They don’t integrate really too easily in the system. We've had security systems for 20 years so we're used to what to expect, but Vivint is not as good as I would have expected and you pay a lot of add-ons during initial sales. It's also facing challenges from the people that are doing it a lot cheaper with things you can go buy at Home Depot or over the internet. I'm not a happy camper of the whole system and if I had to do it all over again, I would not do it. At some point, we're gonna switch to something else.

    There was a guy going to all the streets in my neighborhood and he was very persistent. I’ve ran across very few people who were as persistent as he was after I told him that I got a system already. He just didn't quit. The guy from Vivint had a laptop and he was showing me the difference with Vivint as compared with ADT which I had. I saw that Vivint was a superior system, it was computer-assisted and you can watch your home. However, the system stalls sometimes. I could go back and I could see the clock in my living room has moved three minutes over but it’s not giving me real-time. Also, I owed Vivint a nickel and they taxed my account a penalty of $10. I went to look at my house, and the first thing that popped up was I was delayed on my bill. I’m paying 49 and it’s not easy. That was my first time paying online. I pressed it and if my bill is 49.05, I hit $49 period, and send it to them.

    The next time I saw my account, I owe them $10 because I owed them a nickel. That was ridiculous and that almost made me a non-Vivint user. They didn't do that in the past. This is just something that somebody conjured up. I called Vivint and the issue wasn’t resolved. It’s still pending because I don't pay close attention to my bill. Also, I don't want the internet bill. I want a paper bill. They shouldn't send a bill that I owe them and I gotta pay them in two days. I should have expressed that to Vivint before I even put the system. I work offshore for 14 days and I can't respond to whatever mail they're sending me. Sometimes, I may need to go offshore before I pay my bills.

    The installer, Manuel was very nice. However, the system is not set up in a very aesthetically pleasing way. Wires are just stapled on the wall. For the price, it looks sloppy. If I were not with ACN, I would most likely not have the product, which is unfortunate.

    Joyfully ordered Vivint in October. Immediately after installation it quit working. It took 5 weeks before anyone could fix it & so they offered me $15 off. It went offline an hour after the tech left, I call and on they go explaining how to fix it myself (like always), but nothing works. I just wanted to cancel by 5/6 weeks in but Vivint wasn’t having any of that. Ya, cancel a contract with Vivint is damn near impossible. They will continue to send technicians out, and eventually charge $45 for them.

    I was so upset that they weren’t living up to their end of the contract, that I sent them an Email telling them to cancel my contract, come get the equipment (they did), and they sold me a service that was unserviceable in my area. I canceled my credit card as well, so they would not charge me again. I got an email today saying I’m late on my payment. I called them again, the poor guy couldn’t find anyone willing to “hit cancel” (since he wasn’t allowed to), to totally end my service. Remember, I have no equipment anymore, I’ve sent the proper email of Cancellation, and they are still trying to charge me. They are a nightmare.

    Chase offered an upgrade on Saturday and told me they would install it at 11:30am. I called and texted him and he never responded. It finally got installed at 11pm by Aaron. I must say he was the most professional of all the techs. He did not have the smart drive and told me Ruben would be stopping by around noon on Sunday. At the 3pm no one had showed up yet so I called Chase and texted him. I received no response. Reluctantly I texted Aaron who did text me back and said he would reach out to Ruben. Ruben finally called me and asked if it was ok if he came by Monday at 3pm. I told him yes that would be fine.

    I texted him at 4:30pm and asked him if he was still coming out. His response was, "I just spoke with customer loyalty. They are going to mail you your smart drive. It comes with instructions on how to activate it. It's super simple. All you do is plug it into the back of your router and it does the rest." I cannot believe how unprofessional this process has been. I cannot believe customers are treated this way. No callbacks, three days of wasted time. I will be going with a different company in the future and I will not be recommending Vivint to anyone.

    This is the worst company I have ever had to deal with. Customer service is absolutely horrible. I have been trying to cancel my account for 5 months now. A representative will tell me it’s taken care of, only to receive another overdue notice and no one know what I’m talking about when I call to say my account is closed. HORRIBLE company! Don’t do it!
