The cameras are horrible. Don’t record right. I have called Vivint and they say they will get back to you. They don’t. A tech has been to my house to try to fix them and they said it Durant calibrate. Vivint blows you off once you're in a contract. Can’t wait to get out if contract. Horrible service.

We got system 8/10/18.. By Nov noticed heat was not right. Bill shot up. Started calling in December. I keep notes on things like this. Sent another to put on ourself with phone instruction. Was given some $ credit. Kept saying Failed. Tech comes out hurriedly changed it. Next day same issue. Another call another one to be sent. Same issue. Testing then done on phone call. I'm March paid for Airtron AC\H service to remove and put back in our original one. No more problems. A couple issues in May with Ring doorbell worked out over phone. 5\23 camera issues, offline and needed updated. Lately notice Ring doorbell camera doesn't always work but have not reported it yet. Nothing on booklet we got day signed up. They take payment from bank.

I really enjoy the service. I love being able to check on my home whenever, wherever, anytime. We do have an issue with one of our outdoor cameras going offline every once and a while. The other issue is with Google home not being able to differentiate between Stay and Away. Other than those two minor issues, great product!!

Vivint, was unable to reset our mobile app password, spent 3 hours on the phone with various customer service reps! We were lucky after a few days my husband was able to recall it! Reps were helpful but never able to provide us with the information we needed. Don't believe we ever got an order number.

I have had nothing but good experiences with Vivint. Sensors work great (if there was a problem in the past (sensor going off due to sensitivity of sensor was set too high), all I had to do was look online or call to get it resolved immediately. Would never switch to any other company.

Their cameras are great except the doorbell camera which is poor. Service is prompt. Cost is a little high. System add-ons are pricier than comparable products like thermostats. If you want connected home choose a different company. They are basically an alarm company.

Love our security system with Vivint. Feel much safer knowing my house is secure. Love the nest thermostat too. Customer service is always there for us. If we accidentally tripped the alarm they were very understanding. We have had no problems since all the kinks got worked out. Would recommend Vivint to everyone.

The sales team showed up on my door at 8:00 pm, I was interested in the product and I told them let me think about. After after 10 mins they showed up at my doorstep to install the equipment. I told them it was late. Was assured it won’t take long but it took over two hours.

The only thing we think about is the monthly cost. Other companies charge less than our monthly charge. Because we'd like to add outdoor cameras and this would be an added expense, we may consider estimates from other security companies. However, we have nothing but good things to say about your service and the assistance we receive from Vivint.

I like the service and customer service as well. I do think you are really expensive and there are lots of new options now. To get my monthly bill to where I could afford it I had to sign a new contract so that was annoying.

We have had a Vivint Alarm installed for many years. During that time we have had the alarm go off several times. We have never been sure if those were false alarms or that the alarm did its job and scared off the intruder(s). We have a greater feeling of security when we leave for a trip knowing that the alarm is watching the house. It is well worth the price to us.

Well where do I start, my system has not been upgraded, I cannot get the new app to work, my system needs to be upgraded, and at no cost to me. I am seriously considering changing to another system, one I control. I had to pay a fine because of your not contacting me. When the alarm was sounded, no contact, and then you sent police to the house, I had called to tell you that you should pay, all I got was a text telling me it was my fault. And now you ask me to rate you, not even a 1star so you can call me. But unless you have a better deal for me, and upgrade my system for free, please don't text me hi.

As I mentioned when I spoke to the representative about how much the alarm keeps going off because of equipment failure he said someone was going to call contact us and get it looked at and I’m still waiting for the phone call and I’m also still waiting for some sort of response I have yet to hear from anyone. So as far as customer service goes, you need to work on it!

We recently had issues with our door lock keypad going out. After several helpful attempts with a service rep, we figured out the keypad/ lock needed to be replaced. It was a very smooth and easy process and the rep helped us through it all.

A representative stopped by, explained the benefits and how it compares to our previous system, and then had an installer there 20 minutes later. Super simple process from start to finish. The installer explained how to use the system and helped is hook up our other compatible smart home devices.

The technician and installation went smooth. There was a lot of wait time and downtime to correct the name and email address that was in the paperwork. After the technician left we tested the doorbell and it works intermittently. We press the doorbell button and sometimes it doesn’t ring. This needs to be fixed immediately. I would also like to get a test report of all the zones tested and what is the entry path when entering the house.

Have had multiple issues with Vivint that seems to just reoccurring. Updates to equipment are up to the user to find out for themselves. They offer no notice about upgrades. They require the user to troubleshoot the problem and ask that you take apart control boards or reset the door camera. We have issues about every 3-4 months. Can't wait until our contract runs out so we can get a quality company.

Terrible customer service! I am basically just waiting out my contract! I also asked to have my bills emailed to me each month and this has yet to happen! Half the time my camera doesn’t work, when I call they want me to spend an hour trying to fix it! Isn’t that what my monthly payments are for! I would never recommend this company!

The sales rep Blaze was awesome, and checked in on our install throughout the process. There was an issue with our doorbell but Blaze was able to get a tech named Caleb to come by and quickly asses and fix the problem. Very impressed and happy we went with this company.

Very professional. Listened to our concerns. Took extra time to help us find the best placement for our control panel, and cameras. Any issue we have had they have been very helpful but the door to door sales man was a bit of a liar and con. Promised things that could not be fulfilled and while he left his number in case of issues, never ever answered it or returned a call. If I had to do again I would be more hesitant only for that original experience.

This surly young man rang my doorbell, I answered, asked him if he saw my "No Soliciting" sign. He said yes. He said he wasn't selling anything. I saw the propaganda in the folder he was holding and it was obvious he wanted to sign me up for Vivint home security. I said, so you ARE selling something. I told him to pay attention to no soliciting signs. He asked if I'm "always this rude to people" I've just met. No, I'm only rude to solicitors that ignore the "No Soliciting" sign. I then went to the BBB website and looked up Vivint. You should, too. I hope no one falls for this company's line of BS.

Vivint came to my house to do marketing and they were very good to talk to. They explained about the system, the equipment, the prices and what I might benefit from it. I liked what they had to offer and went ahead to get it. I really like the Vivint system. Then another representative came to my door a couple of months ago and I asked about getting an extra camera. He gave me a very expensive price. I asked if it was possible to upgrade my system and get something like a loyalty plan. He said he didn't have anything that he can offer.
I always like to stay with a provider, and once in a while, I would like to get something, like a discount. I called them to ask for a certain amount of discount in my account and they gave me a $10 discount. So, if ever I wanna come back and get an extra camera, I would expect to get a much better discount or much better pricing for that on my system, provided that I was gonna stay longer with the company. Other than that, everything has been working fine.

I purchased a home security system to keep my house and my surrounding property safe. When the young man from Vivint came out, he explained the technology in layman’s terms so it was easy for me to understand what he was talking about. The team who came out to install the system was very professional and courteous as well. I was also trying to get most of my family and friends to go ahead and choose Vivint. So far, the system seems to work for my needs and I like the technology support. I have everything I need for my home and I like the cameras. The clarity is really good on them.

My smoke alarm was faulty. It kept chirping and a customer service rep from your company walked me through disconnecting it. My replacement should have been here about two months ago. Have not re received anything and no follow up call. Disappointing. I also need my front door alarm changed.

I have been locked in a contract for the past 3 three, have requested to get out for a yr. My service is lousy, cameras don’t wipe, doorbell doesn’t work, customer service is not helpful after being in the phone for more than an hour every time without my problem being solved. I have given up trying to fix this lousy service and am being forced to pay for something that hasn’t worked for about 8 months.

The change to the Vivint Smart installation was seamless & quick. Travis explained the process for the change over. Pierce and helper technicians quick, helpful & professional during the installation process. The door lock was a little more challenging because of the age of our house & door.

Vivint got to be an industry leader by providing the best product with fantastic service at a very competitive price. Lately, success has gone to their head as the customer service is weak, they really do not care about the customer and their equipment is dated. Either they will change or they will cease to be a market factor. If I wanted to be treated like an ADT customer I would have gone with them in the beginning. It would be easy for ADT to buy Vivint as the service is now very similar.

Sensor low battery over my sliding glass door. I could not get the sensor open because the sensor was placed too near the top of the door frame in vertical position. I am elderly and had no one to help me. Your employee disarmed that sensor so I could use my system.

Can't rely on when the alarm will go off. Also if it is a real situation or if it is a false alarm. When I wanted to cancel my service I was told I would have to pay for the equipment in full. Why would I want faulty equipment???

I have been a Vivint customer for nearly 2 years. My overall experience has been pretty good. There have been a few kinks to work out with internet connectivity. Initially the system was linked to my home wireless network. But, it was intermittent at best. Then a tech came and installed a Vivint dedicated router. The connection problems still occurred. Finally, the 3rd time a tech installed a wired connection that piggybacks on my home wiring. That had been perfect with no further connection problems. On another note. A few weeks ago I made a quick trip to the local grocery store. Before I left, I activated the security system. However, as I wad backing out of my garage I got a warning on my phone that my garage/home entry door was not closed. I got out and pulled the door closed. It was just slightly ajar. I put my phone on silent and went off to the store.
When I got home 20 minutes later there were 2 patrol cars in front of my house to greet me. They had responded to my system alarm. I evidently set it off when I closed my door. That door was unlocked and another door to my back yard was propped open for my dog to go in and out. The officers had totally cased every room and reported to me that my house was "clear." My neighbors even told me later that day that the 2 officers went to them to inquire if they had seen any suspicious activity or persons around my home. I apologized to the officers about the apparent accidental tripping of my security system and thanked them for their rapid and thorough response. I was highly impressed with the seamless interaction of my Vivint system and my town's police department. I feel very secure!

Just wish you used a different security company in Las Vegas. It takes them forever to get to our house. We can be out on the other side of town and get home quicker. Other than that everything else is great.

The screen just blinks and roles. I did this once for 45 minutes. I can log in successfully on my phone and do what I want but not on my PC? Help! I am using Norton Security Suite, Norton VPN, & Windows Security.

I have been with this company for almost 6 years. This will be my last time getting service with them. Their customer service sucks. Their equipment has a lot of flaws behind it and if you need something fixed they send it out to so you can do-it-yourself. I've had a technician come out to my home be rude to my family and the company offered me $50. I never wanted their services again.

Called to cancel my 42 month contract that was over. Rep offering lower package but wanted another 12 month agreement. I will leave this company when this bait and switch agreement is over. There are other companies out there like Simplisafe.

Garage sensor. Three days of phone calls not working. Customer services people want you to repair the problem. A Vietnam vet 100% disable in wheelchair. I cannot understand why I am asked to do checks. Can we not note the the file of my situation?

Very quick installation. Good so far. Easy to understand and operate. Rep was knowledgeable and polight and know his craft. Technician was good and fast. Everything was completely in one night. That's a first. All devices work the first time, no glitch, no reboot, no trouble shoot. Nothing to worry about just seeing how long it will last.

Bottom line - I feel 100% ripped off. I tried to cancel just months after initial install. I was told no. No voice anything works - when installers were here it didn’t work. Had to have someone come back and replace a panel, and you wanted to charge me for the field visit. The tech said “oh they gave you the old ones”. I let him know it’s only a few months old. Well good people let me notify you, the new doesn't work either. I get static and high pitch noise. No voice/ speaker anything works, including the front door bell system. I really regret doing business with Vivint. I can’t wait for it to be over. I was leaving you all alone letting time pass to end this but you asked.

Very poor service. I was approached 4 years ago with "Salesmen" that I was under a 1 year contract and afterwards I would own the equipment. But what they don't make clear is this: You own it, yes..but you agree to pay them $49 a MONTH for 5 years! This was in very fine print. I have asked for years to get out of my contract. No one seems to care that I was duped into this 5 YEAR contract! Beware!

Updated on 10/08/2019: This is the worst system ever purchased. I bought 2 home worth of systems and they have NEVER work correctly. I got tired of calling constantly and then being told I was going to be charged if someone came out. I just paid off one house and monitoring but still wanted to use what I could for the cameras. I was just told today I cannot use the app since I canceled monitoring? Who the heck would spend this much money if I could ONLY use it while monitoring and I could have bought several different systems to monitor my own house without paying for it. SO it is basically useless to me.
A waste of money and I will make sure I post this everywhere. So disappointed that Best Buy Vivint people never informed me of this important fact. SO now I have an expensive system that I can only see when I am in the house from my panel. The app doesn't work on the phone when I am away from the house. Thermostats never work either.
Original Review: None of my systems works ever. I have to change batteries constantly every months. The doorbell takes forever to answer with my phone or screen. They are difficult to deal with. Hate them. Wish I had my ADT back. I also bought my mom the system and still paying on both.

I have Vivint for a few years now and I like the system. One evening, they just came at our door and I managed to let them in with not much intention of doing anything. About an hour or so later, I had a system. What really sold me at that time was because I didn't want anybody coming in rewiring my house. And there it was, done like magic. I was impressed and I feel good having it. I know it works ‘cause I got a call one day while I was at a college basketball game, and they said something that it was going off. They called my daughter ‘cause she was the call person. It was a false alarm but it all turned out good.
Although there are some issues here lately like the battery in the back door, I've been working them out with Vivint over the phone. Everything's not quite right yet so I need to call them again to work through it and see if everything’s up and up. Also, I’ve tried the Vivint indoor camera a few years ago and it wasn't any good. I didn't like it at all. So, I went on my own and got the Blink which works pretty well. Despite these issues, I’m very happy about my Vivint system. In fact, I have recommended them and my daughter now has their system too.

I've been with Vivint for going on two years and it has been a good experience with them. The rep who sold me the system was very knowledgeable. I like Vivint's cameras versus other cameras that I found. I also like the monitor, but it freezes a lot. I have to reboot it quite often.

The door bell camera does not provide a good view of my property & does not detect all visitors as requested. I have had multiple people come right on my porch stand in front of the bell and the camera does not record. The system will tell you a visitor is detected in the middle of the night but the camera does not record the activity. When the video does record the length of record is you short to know what the person fully did while on your property. I have more issues than not with the camera and even the thermostat. I am very dissatisfied with the service and would not recommend them to my worst enemy! Also - customer service will promise call back and then not keep their word!

Control box beeping. Called service dept. for help. Said they fixed it over the phone. Then, again, control box beeping and called another representative and he claims to have fixed it or rather stop it from beeping. The beeping sound is very loud and annoying. Had this same problem about a month ago. Had a service man out; but, it looks like it is not permanently fixed. Have not turned on the alarm for fear the same thing is going to happen. Paying on an alarm that does not seem to be fixable. Your company does not care about its customers, if it did you would help solve this problem. Stop telling us how to take apart the control box to remedy the problem. That is and should be your responsibility. Hope this letter does not go straight into the trash. Would not recommend this company on its customer service issues.

About 6 months ago we had to replace the battery on our system. It was a little bit of a hassle as the young man we spoke with didn't seem very knowledgable. We got it worked out and received the battery. However, we have lost most of the audio. Can't figure out what to do so we have just lived with it.

Vivínt is definitely the worst company I have ever been a customer of. They required a contract of 3.5 years that was impossible to get out of, despite the fact that the system never worked correctly and I had so many false alarms that the police were going to charge me to come to my house. Not to mention I was woken up in the middle of the night innumerable times by the alarm going off for no reason (which gave me incredible anxiety and woke my sleeping infant in more than one occasion). The terrible system gave me more anxiety and made my life more difficult, despite the fact that the goal was to do the opposite.
I called on several occasions wanting to cancel, but was always told I had to pay out my contract. So I did. But once my contract was up they continued my charging me as if my contract had been renewed. I called to cancel again. Was told I had to send in a written request. So I did. I was still charged, so I began disputing their claims on my credit card, so my card would no longer accept their charges. And now I am receiving bills in the mail. This company is nothing but a leech offering an inadequate system but refusing to allow you to stop using it/stop paying them money. I have huge regrets about the day I choose to go with this company. I have consistently begged their customer service for a refund as the system never worked, yet all I keep getting is more charges for a system I haven’t used in years and am no longer contracted to. Don’t make the same mistake I did!!!!

After my system had a third alarm from the upstairs of my home; without a cause! I told the respondent Vivint representative to have a technician check out the system; so far there hasn't been any response! Basically, I have been paying for a faulty system since November 2018!

I've been with Vivint for eight years and have been very satisfied with the services I have received. The customer service is excellent. From the time I've had Vivint I have never had a problem with services. The response time is excellent even when we enter the wrong code in the system. I've had Vivint for nearly two years, mostly for my 95 year old mother's emergency button/pendant. There's been several false alarms (when she accidentally hits the button, or when I'm cooking and the smoke detector goes crazy) and the response has always been immediate and efficient. Put me in hold several times and uh, uh, like and, oh yes I forgot several times. The price she quoted me was absolutely ridiculous! So much for having “customer loyalty”.

I am very dissatisfied with how I have been treated by Vivint as a result of the sale of our house and the closing of the account. We called to close our service due to the sale of our home and were told that we could not due to some remaining time on our contract. And that the best we could do was to place it on hold until our new house is complete (5 months).
We agreed and order the removal of the equipment (June 24). They have continued to bill us and when we call the response was that they had no record of our cancellation. The people we talked to had no record of of our cancellation or the removal of our equipment. We will resume our contract at our new residence but once we've completed this contract term we will not renew. And we will continue to NOT recommend Vivint due to how they treat long time customers. I have a system and moved after 7 months of getting it due to a burglary. I sold the property and moved to home with a full system already in place, and have my Vivint system sitting in a box that I can't even use. I have no recourse other than to pay it off. Awesome.

My relationship with Vivint at the beginning was very rocky. Lots of mistakes and mishaps... lots of miscommunication. After all the hiccups were resolved, things have been great! The company listens to criticism and learns from their mistakes. I am very happy with the turn around from the company. When staff comes to the door to see how things are going and if I am satisfied, any issues I have are resolved on the spot. I would recommend Vivint to others, for sure.

Well, Vivint decided to quit allowing me to access the cloud I purchased and I lost 1000’s of photos. So mad. You can buy a better product without going into contract. RING will be my next buy. I believe there should be a program to compensate existing customers when new or improved equipment is released, either by a replacement program or at least a discounted rate. When I see other companies offering better services and technologies than I have, it threatens my loyalty to Vivint when I’m denied a better camera without paying an obnoxious amount for a new camera.

The latest update to their replay feature scored high in my opinion when reviewing recorded videos. However, the system requires a significant amount of bandwidth to perform at a stable level. Otherwise, the cameras will go offline a lot throughout the day. I much prefer the wired system I had at my previous home compared to the current WiFi system I have.

Performance of system fell short of expectations. The front door camera and doorbell often did not work, was not timely to respond even after multiple visit by service techs and the system regularly did not connect to hand held devices outside of the house even with strong internet connection.

I am writing this review because I am very unhappy with the service that Vivint has provided. I called customer service to resolve an issue and they assured me that they would send out a technician to fix all the faulty equipment. It is not 4 months later and I have not heard back from anyone however my account has consistently been charged for services that I am unable to use. I have a smart lock that does not unlock and an outdoor camera that gave out after year of service.

I signed up with Vivint for a 5 year contract. We originally got it for the smoke alarm system because we have pets home alone so we wanted to be able to monitor the home for them. Getting out of this contract even after your time is up is frustratingly difficult. I sent them a letter a year in advance stating I would be done with them at the end of my contract. They called and asked why - I was tired of paying $75/month when I could buy my own Nest products and monitor what was important to me on my own. I was also unhappy with the way camera works - it never recorded when I needed it to - for instance the system would show that the back door had been unlocked but the camera never recorded who actually came in.
They sent out a guy to check and stated everything was working okay. I figured okay whatever... We are still done in May 2019. But no.. money still coming out my account in June - I called to complain and they stated "Oh well your contract cancelling doesnt count because we sent out a guy." This time I was frustrated and said "No I am done. What do I have to do to be done?" "OH you need to send your cancellation letter to documents@vivint.com" So I did that immediately and July... another payment goes out. Another call and they state they are "looking into cancelling my account." I cancelled my credit card. Vivint service was okay but getting rid of them is like the most horrible divorce proceeding you can imagine. Do not sign a contract with Vivint!

Not Military Friendly! First off getting out of my service contract due to a mandatory military move has been nearly impossible. I now live in my RV and Vivint cannot provide service but refuses to cancel my contract. Secondly, I was mislead by my sales rep that I could get out of my contract with military orders which has proven to be a lie. Thirdly, it has been obvious that the sales people will say anything to make money with no regard for the customers interest or the truth. The city's police chief (Valdosta) revoked their ability to sell due to multiple complaints. This happened less than a year before they sold to me. I'm convinced they illegally sold me service in the beginning. The fourth major problem is the service that I was sold never worked as described. I found out I didn't have the internet bandwidth to support anything. I also had no other internet options in my area to upgrade.
My cameras never worked right, my thermostat was constantly acting up until and was not repairable until I removed it. The doorbell camera constantly stopped working. Alexa didn't work right. The main box constantly disconnected from the network. The app rarely allowed me to lock the doors or open the garage. After all of this, I found Vivint’s customer service technically inept and uninterested in fixing our issues. Lastly, after they were unable to provide the service that I was paying for, they lied about not extending my service agreement and did it without my knowledge.
Then after all that, I'm finally thinking I can get out of the contract due to my upcoming PCS. Wrong, that’s when the company showed its true colors by not supporting the freedom of choice that military members should be afforded when they are relocated by the military. Nothing angers me more when a company acts military friendly, but is really only interested in making a buck. I plan to file complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the local Valdosta police, my military legal office as well as a few different popular forums and ABC news. This experience has been possibly the worst consumer experience I have ever had.

We have the doorbell camera, the door sensors, the motion detector, and the smoke alarm from Vivint. Our interactions with the rep and the installation team were good. The installation was quick and easy. They came in, put everything up, cleaned up whatever mess they had made and left. We moved the system to my wife’s shop, but when we had it at the house, the panel itself would drop signal from the internet, which was was our biggest issue. It was doing that consistently. We thought it was our internet and bought multiple access points. We ended up calling Vivint's tech support and they told us it was the panel that was having issues.

We had salesman Jake ** come to our house days after we had moved in. He was very pushy and kept telling us that he will have someone there in a couple of hours to install the hardware and we have 30 days as a trial and if we don't like it we can contact Vivint and they will come and remove the equipment at no charge. Everything was done on his tablet, and it just kept asking us for our signature and we would be emailed all the paperwork and we can review it later. He started asking for our SSN and wouldn't even let us discuss anything between ourselves. I kind of barked at him and told him that we need to talk about this and we will not be making any decisions at that moment. He seemed highly offended that he would not get his commission for the sale and left his number to give him a call but it would have to be the next day because he would going to the next town.
We did discussed it and since we had 30 days to decide if we keep it we figured we would give it a try. Jake came back and kept saying that everything will be emailed to us and we can read through it later. After a few weeks we decided that it was not a system for us. We called to cancel but Vivint said that we are under contract. Apparently our salesman lied because it is three days not 30. Who decides if a security system will work for them in only three days??? The customer service rep said they would have to contact Jake and it was his word against ours. And why would they believe us? How do we even know that they contacted him? They are getting paid... Jake gets his commission... And we, the customers, are getting the short end of the deal. We are making sure that everyone knows of our horrible experience and how we are out money on a product we will not use.

The installation service was a nightmare. I told the guy where to put my cameras. Well he placed one camera where I wanted. The second one he placed in a blind spot and I told him I didn’t want it there. His explanation was the radius leaving my door without a camera exposed wires and my height is 5 ft 1 inch. I was able to touch each camera inside my home. He left wires hanging from one room to another with electrical tape. He also tapped into my phone wires leaving me without usage for that line for 3 days. I cancelled my service the third day and I asked the company not to send him back to my home to retrieve the equipment, use someone else of course. Dallas is his name came. When he disconnected all the equipment he didn’t notify me that he was leaving therefore he left my front door wide open not knowing how long he had been gone.

The only issue I have is the immediate rush for installation. While going over the service it should be explained that a guy will be here tonight and will be in your house till midnight. I think personally it should be asked "would you be ok if someone came out tonight and it can take up to 5 hours." Then let us decide if they can install. If that was the case I would have given 5 stars and it would have been on me if I stayed up till 1am. Other than that everything else seems ok .

Install went well. Representative was professional, very quiet, picked up after himself, very focused on his task, wore identifying clothing and ID, listened carefully to my preferences very efficient and effective installation. Tutorial was clear and complete. He recommended that if at any time I become confused to call technical support. He placed a card with that phone number by keypad. Also informed me there are YouTube videos for reference if I prefer. All in all I am very satisfied but admit still a little unsure. But that's me, not the system. I will probably add one more camera at some point and my son thinks I need a motion detector in the hallway. We will see. I strive to learn all I can about what I currently have before I move forward.

The first year or so that I had the Vivint service it worked fine. Then they pushed out a "software upgrade" to the control panel. Since then I have had nothing but problems with their system. The system drops off my home network every month or two. A tech came out, added a couple devices to the system, and hardwired my home network to the system, saying that would solve the problem. It didn't. Another tech said that another device that was plugged into a separate outlet in another part of our house was causing interference. We removed it but still have problems with the control panel. I keep telling their customer support that the control panel is defective. Calling their customer support is no help. You have to spend over an hour on the phone with them as they take you through their list of "diagnostics" which is basically, "Is everything plugged in? Yes? Ok, we need to turn it all off and turn it back on again."
The problem is the backup battery that is inside the control panel must be unplugged in order to completely turn everything off. So you have to find a tiny screwdriver because a normal sized one is too big. After you take the tiny screw out you have to hold the panel with one hand while unplugging a tiny plug with your other hand. The touchscreen is still on while you're doing this so if you're not careful with how you're holding it, you set off an alarm which is much louder because now the panel is less than a foot from your ear. After unplugging the battery you have to plug it back in and pop the panel back in place and put the tiny screw back in. Most of the time you will get a message that the panel cover is loose, even if the screw goes in perfectly and the panel seems to be in place.
If their over-the-phone "diagnostics" require you to turn the power off to the system, there should be an on/off switch on the front of the panel that would not require you to take the panel apart. Doing this once or twice over the course of the contract wouldn't be a big deal, but having to do this every month or two is too much! I keep complaining that their panel doesn't work and needs to be replaced. Their response today was literally, "Yes, it works. We fixed it in January, April, May, and today." It's not fixed if it keeps breaking! Get another system! Anything but Vivint!

Last week (July 16) a Vivint salesman came to our door and informed us we were eligible for a system upgrade. We were told that for a small fee we would receive a new control panel and upgraded doorbell camera. After agreeing to the charges, an appointment was set for today (July 23). The technician arrived on time and said she was there to install the new panel. When I told her we were supposed to receive the upgraded camera, she said it wasn’t on on work order and called the salesman. He in turn called me and said he was sorry but the camera wasn’t included, as we discussed, and there would be an additional charge. After hanging up, I called Customer Loyalty, explained the same situation, and was told I could get the camera for an additional charge, the same charge the salesman indicated. I’ve been a Vivint customer for almost 4 years....not sure I’ll make it 5.

Getting this home security system was something I have always wanted and needed. I have to use the analogy of a “colony of bees” with Franco ** being the “king” bee! Franco was very professional and knew his product well. He sold me on the system. Less than an hour later the “worker-bees” arrived and in less than an hour my system was installed (almost like making the honey!). They all worked as a team, buzzing around my house, even vacuuming their mess before leaving. I think the Vivint security system is just what I needed!

I thought that this service was amazing initially until I had to constantly replace batteries in my doorbell and my camera was always inoperable because of the connection. On top of that, canceling my contract due to military orders has been the worst experience ever. No one could give me a straight answer on what I needed to do and now I'm being charged for equipment that I shouldn't be charged for. Never again!

Alarm system install very professional and thorough. System is easy to use and the tech was very efficient. App is also helpful and user friendly. So far we are very satisfied with the product and the service. The system test was successful and the tech removed all trash and cleaned areas.

Very dissatisfied with Vivint Security Systems! They increase their monthly charges (I pay $66.00/month- that's almost $800/year). The thermostats are horrible- have had a defective one installed as well. Once the thermostat malfunctioned - instead of AC the heat pump turned on - I could not correct it. Had to leave work & have my AC tech try to figure it out!
The security panel system needs to be updated & it is always signaling that there are issues (battery problems, updates needed, etc.). Again, on the phone to try to solve the issues. Oh, and they charge a $49 service fee to come out & change your batteries! The cameras have never worked right, even though they have come to replace them. Then they wanted to charge me $150 to replace the camera that did not work. I spend so much time with tech support trying to "reset the panel" etc... Not to mention waiting 10 -15 minutes being put on hold!
Then, I finally decided to end my contract, they said that I was automatically renewed for 2 more years. They had me over a barrel, because I needed to schedule an AC company to change out the vivint thermostat, but could not get them over until after my contract ended. I live in Florida & it is 95 degrees here right now - I would not have been able to use my AC without a thermostat.

Vivint Home Security system is a great choice as it's not dependent on your home's internet connection or home phone service. The integrated mobile app makes it easy to see who's at your door, control all users and passwords, saves pictures of camera activity, and speak through the app when someone rings the doorbell in real time, and you don't have to be home to use these features. The system is expandable to add more cameras, doorbells and smart home appliance controls. This is a system I would highly recommend because it is customizable to your needs and the security system is effective and discreet.

Great service! A neighbor also uses Vivint and loves it, we have them a call and in 15 minutes we got all the information we needed and schedule an installation, which was done the same week! Process was quick and easy! It took us a while to find a security system we liked that also looked good on our wall. The main panel doesn’t look big and bulky or outdated.

It's very rare you get a salesman come to your door nowadays. At first we told him no thanks, i.e. we didn't want to waste our time or his BUT I actually knew of the name and we literally were looking for security cameras on Prime Day. So we gave Jonathan a minute of our time and he hooked it up! We are now proud owners of a great full house security system. Can't wait to save up for the automobile feature.
We never secured our home because we thought it would be too much and out of our budget which honestly sounds ridiculous now that I type it out. Of course we should have budgeted it in long ago but Vivint was VERY accommodating and Affordable. I was lucky enough to get the Tech guy to come the same and after a few minutes of signing with the company, my home was fully secure with a really cool 4k cameras, autolock for the front, video doorbell. The whole package. Give these guys a second of your time. You won't regret it.

As new homeowners we’ve always known we wanted a security system but hadn’t Found one that was affordable nor had we really got around to looking too closely. I travel because of the Navy and my wife wanted to feel secure when I’m gone so when Brian knocked on my door, I decided to listen to his pitch. The promotion is really good and we got the full security system, fire safety, carbon monoxide safety, doorbell camera and driveway camera. I called on 7/16/2019 and scheduled an appt for 4:00 on 7/19/2019. No one showed up. Someone called me instead. I have now been on the phone for almost two hours and am speaking with the 5th person. No one has a clue what is going on. Everyone tells me something different. This is a terrible start to my relationship with Vivint. Bizarre is the only word to describe this entire experience. This is the worst company.

First and foremost I would like to begin with a statement that I have no faith in Vivint. My system has been nightmarish at best and the mobile app is just as bad. For instance if I walk into a area that has a camera I will get that video clip hrs after the event happened or not at all. Second instance. When I let the garage door down, but on the app it says garage door open. Now if I went by the app my garage would be up and I probably would get robbed of all my possessions and yes this actually happen because for a half of day it was left open. Thank God for good neighbors. Vivint do the right thing and cancel this contract. Am in the works to speak to a consumer protection attorney. Buyer beware.

After doing hours of research, I kept coming back to Vivint. I first spoke with Brandon to review my home security needs. He went over everything with me in detail to make sure I was comfortable and confident in my decisions for home security coverage and devices. Scheduling the installation was so easy, and Vivint was able to accommodate my schedule and send someone out to install quickly. My installer Robert was absolutely FANTASTIC. He made the process so simple and did an amazing job with the installation. He was very respectful and courteous. I have Vivint for about a year-and-a-half. I have had nothing but troubles every single month with the camera. We troubleshoot, they send me new software and nothing keeps working. Now they want to start charging me $250 because I purchased this from Best Buy and they don't see me as a real Vivint customer. Do not go with this company, find another company that is better. They have good customer service but the $250 I would pay only covers for 90 days and this system breaks down every month. Hopefully another reliable company can piggyback onto the scene at that I paid $1,300 for plus $20 a month.
When you called and they want you to spend $50 a month and monitoring it I only have one outside camera and I don't need monitoring, so they told me it will cost me $250 every time to send someone out to take a look at the faulty equipment that they gave me. They know they....even said it was their faulty equipment but they won't do anything about it. There're good security systems out there, after a year-and-a-half I should have looked a little further. And shame on Best Buy for having them in the store and then them leaving the store and now I'm out in the cold with a bad camera, faulty equipment, paying $20 a month for a $1,300 system I'm still paying on and there's nothing they will do about it.

Pre-existing equipment. We were told a rep would come out and walk us through the equipment use and address any concerns. We were given a timeframe to be at the house. Nobody showed. Approximately 1.5-2 hours later, a Vivint Rep called and took the time to blame another Vivint EE for the delay. He didn’t come but walked through the equipment over the phone in a quick manner. When asked to repeat something, he would respond with, “I’ve showed you how to do that so you’re good..” Then when asked to help provide a manual and a house visit for the walkthrough, we were transferred to Customer Service for a questionnaire about the call, in which he stayed on the line making it uncomfortable. Frustrated, we again requested a physical walkthrough which was noted in our initial phone call and were put on hold again to be transferred again. The encounter was a waste of our time and unprofessional.

I signed up to purchase Vivint cameras and monitoring system, the salesman told us that we have a option to finance the system and we can add the $50.00 P/M monitoring service which we can, and I quote "cancel at any time no questions asked" (the service of course, the equipment has to be paid which is obvious). The equipment is ok, they had to replace one camera which stopped working after a week but they did replace it, but when we tried to cancel the monitoring service you can forget about it. Obviously the service agreement is on page 4 of the contract, page that I should have paid more attention to, and it turned out it's 54.99 plus taxes not 50.00, which adds another $300 to the bill over the contract period. Buyers be aware... and get a quote from ADT first.

I did tremendous research for weeks on different smart security systems and finally settled on Vivint. A discount through my local electrical provider truly sealed the deal. I was told that I was getting a $169.99 discount. However, that discount turned into $0 after installation. On my confirmation the discount is listed. Now after things are done I was told that I was given a free thermostat so that negated the discount. I love the technology but just be aware that if you’re told you’ll be getting a discount, those numbers could look a lot different than what was promised. And the fact that the supervisor acted nonchalant about it is what really irritated me. Not even an apology for the miscommunication.

I really liked the equipment, especially being able to adjust the lights and have them turn off at a certain time. Also, having an alarm on the back door, telling me when it was open, was very helpful in my household. It's these extra things that I really liked, beyond the normal things a security system should provide.

Franco was epic, Pablo was professional and informative; excellent customer service. I enjoy testing the capabilities of my new ‘toys’. Facial hair prevents the AI Facial Recognition from triggering even when I shine a flashlight directly at it from the back of my property. I was not altered to my own presence at night and well with the alert boundary (@ 150 yards). I’m able to penetrate my own defenses undetected without being alerted all the way to my fence and gate.

We had a Vivint system installed in our home. It started malfunctioning almost immediately and never got a resolution. We did not renew our contract. Vivint is now billing us for the new contract, which we never signed nor agreed to. Absolutely horrible customer service!

I would never, ever recommend Vivint to anyone who asked. I have had problems from day one. You name a problem I have had it. The playback doesn’t work good, someone broke into my car and the ONE time I needed the video for proof IT DOES NOT WORK, for a whole 10 minutes no video can be found now. What is the point of having a security system if it doesn’t work when you need it the most. Thankfully it was just my car, and not my house where my family sleeps. So beyond disappointed with this service. Please do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere.

1. It is sexist to assume that the husband works and the wife stays at home - Coach your service teams to remember that when they call. 2. Your teams have been corrected multiple times regarding what my number is and what my husband's phone number is. Yet you constantly refer to him on my number and vice versa. You speak to him on the phone but send me an email with the confirmation but addressed to him. If you can’t get simple demographic info right how is someone to trust that you will convey the right information about me and my family to any authority in the event of an emergency? Does not evoke any confidence at all.

Everything went great. We set up a follow up do to not having the internet set up yet. Representative went over the app and how to use the pad, will go over the cloud when the internet is set up. It was a great experience so far.

Sales person was in the neighborhood and explained the system pretty well. We were interested because of several reasons to have parts of the system installed. We ended up with a couple more of course!!! It's only been a couple of days but so far I like the system. The installation was free. The installer was very nice. But it takes hours even if you don't have much to install so don't believe them when they say it won't take long. He needed to do a better job cleaning up after himself and he split the door when installing a sensor. Not saying it was his fault, but he didn't tell me. I noticed when the door was hard to close/open and making a horrible noise. Need to tell you if they damage your house. Overall, so far so good. Hope the customer service is as good as claimed. I saw a couple of reviews where people had trouble getting a response.

My driveway camera won't stay online and will not go live. I've reboot and reset everything. And still nothing if they don't come and fix it I will be leaving going somewhere else. And I just got the system Saturday.

The sales rep arrived unsolicited in the evening. He explained the service and the buyout of our old contract with another vendor. After agreeing to have the service installed, he arranged to have an installer arrive. The installer was well manered and efficient. He completed the install late in the night.

He was also helpful in identifying the internet capability I need in order to get the additional equipment I want Vivint to install on the property, e.g., security cameras.

When I think about the service that the Vivint Security company provided me, products, service, customer care, etc., I feel that they do a wonderful job on the personal service side when you call them and/or when a tech comes to your home. I also think that the variety of equipment that they offer is great and advanced. I do wish they had local offices instead of a single headquarters in Utah. Also, the long-term contracts are a bit of a pain, but being able to transfer them with the sale of a house or take the equipment with you makes them a little less problematic.

The representative was extremely thorough and knowledgeable. He answered every question we threw at him. Since my system was old I and after the presentation, I was convinced that this system would satisfy my security requirements. The sales rep Zach was not pushy, and did a great job presenting. Forgot to mention the upfront cost but otherwise did a great job. Came by at right time cause someone got into my vehicle the week before, the one time I forgot to lock my truck. but didn’t have the necessary cell unit, Nick was to come 7/9. Though I was here and waiting, I did not hear him ring the bell or use the knocker. Toric’s visit today was thorough and well explained. Between him and James, and after a lengthy activation process, I believe the system is up and running. Installation is not applicable because the system had been installed by the previous owner.

Things went smoothly for the most part today. There were a few issues with the application working properly on our devices, but those were fixed. The technician did a great job. We were unable to get the thermostat synchronized without existing device.

I had a very explicit conversation prior to setting up service about what we would be doing for our service (taking over a wired system), and when the tech came out we were told that it wasn’t going to be as planned (everything is actually wireless and they *can't do that*), so after much discussion we added a bunch of window and glass break sensors to the original plan so now my service will be an extra $13/month on top of the already more expensive service we had with a competitor with a wireless system. We are ultimately happy with the end result as far as the actual system goes, but I am disappointed in the outcome in cost and miscommunication.

We had a sales guy (Shane) come to our door last night. He was friendly and knowledgeable about his product. Literally right when he left our Tech guys had shown up the same day! Less than 30 min! Wonderful staff and service. I got a great price and they covered the majority of my current alarm buy out - contract termination fee. They didn't tell me about running my credit for the equipment installation but I'm happy regardless. Love my new alarm system.
