Both our salesperson and the installer are hardworking, professional young men. It was a pleasure doing business with them. We appreciated their honesty, ability to problem solve. Their appearance was neat and appropriate. We would hire these two young men for our company if we had an opening!

I switched from ADT to Vivint, and the installation went nicely. The guy was really good. He was confident and prompt. Things also went okay with the salesperson in the beginning, then there were some things he promised that I did not get. I gave some referrals and I didn’t get the money he promised. Also, I’ve had about 10 installers come out because the doorbell doesn’t work. If somebody comes to the door, you can see who’s out there, but you can’t speak through the intercom. It’s a waste. I've had it for three years and it’s the worst ever. It works for a minute while the techs are here, but after they're gone, no connection. And then the whole circuit thing went out. They put brand new equipment out there, but I had to wait until an installer could come out here, which was two months. He said that he was from Puerto Rico and he was going all over. They were short of installers.

Some of our neighbors had Vivint. We got the Vivint system as well because of their camera system and being able to monitor from a phone. The installation is fine, but they did extra holes and then they fixed it so it was good. So far, we sometimes have problems with glitches where the system keeps sending some messages or it doesn’t register that something’s closed, and it’d take a minute to register on the app. For example, I leave my house, close the garage, and then armed to leave, and it’ll say that something’s open. So then, I have to turn back, but everything is closed. Other than that, the system is good. We barely had anybody from Vivint and everybody who has approached us or we’ve come in contact with have been very nice.

Installer was able to arrive early and completed the job within the time frame allocated. Richard was very professional and through with his explanation on how the system works. We added a couple of items after he explained their value and now I have complete system. I only wish he had an additional sign to put on the backyard fence. That's a small item compared to the overall job.

We are very techie people with very nerdy requirements and Vivint is able to provide us security and peace of mind while also satisfying our need to be on the latest and greatest technology. We bought a new house that was prewired with the security system and then we bought Vivint's highest service package, which includes monitoring, alerting and home automation.
The system has been fine and it's been working. But I had some difficulty finding their right phone number on the site. Depending on what page you are on, they showed a different phone number. It was confusing. I remember one time I called an 877 number and then the next time I called, it was an 866 number. Then we had two installation sessions. The first one did not go well because they sent someone who was a little bit more junior and our house is very large with a lot of requirements. The second time, they sent their area lead and it was a very positive experience.

Install panel. Friendly and competent. Arrived on time. Ed explained wed everything. Made it easy to use. Checked all hardware. Overall did a really good job. Not sure what else to say. My wife thought the whole thing took a little too long but it really wasn't very long.

All signed documents were done electronically. Waiting for copies of signed documents. Installer was exceptional. He was able to use most of my already installed equipment. He Installed a new panel, carbon dioxide detector, garage door camera, camera at front door. Checked to make sure all equipment worked proficiently. Showed me how to use panel. Note: He was so patient, and professional.

My sales rep AJ saw that I had a ADT sign and asked how long I’d been with them (14 years I found out). His presentation handled every objection without pressuring me. He built value in his product. I ended up switching over with NO out of pocket expenses and paying the same monthly as I was with ADT with the same security system but with upgraded security video cameras and doorbell. Gabe my installer was there in 30 mins later and completed the install in under 2 hours. I feel confident knowing I have made a great choice for security to protect my family for years. Tech left at mess boxes threw sign and it’s recorded left wood from holes. He drilled peelings from sensors were left behind on windows. Didn’t pick his mess up. Almost felt like canceling order. Too bad I need alarm. Might start looking somewhere else.

I was very disturb with the actions of the Technician at the time of his exit. The Technician harassed me for a survey code after I informed him that I was at work and unable to provide him with the code at that time. He became upset and very pushy about needing the code. I then told him do not call my phone ever again and that I will be reporting his actions to his company.

The Vivint installation team did really good when they came in. They installed my window and door alarm, motion detector, doorbell camera, and the thermostat and they demonstrated how to use the system.

The sales rep and the installer were very professional and it was great to have it all installed the same day I signed up. The system seems to be user friendly and is working well so far. My only complaint is that I was told the motion detector would not be set off by the cats and it appears something set it off the first time I set the alarm and left the house. I’m assuming it was the cats because none of the other sensors were triggered. Hopefully that can be adjusted.

Account number **, service number:** Best Buy Vivint program sold me over $1200 worth of equipment on 04/13/2018 with an app access fees of $9.99 which was increased to $19.99 which is a 2X increase and something not expected by me as a customer and unfortunately contract says about the Increase after the initial term which protects a legal action but it does not mean a bait and switch tactic has not applied here. The reasoning is just they discontinued the plan so now my options are either cancel and have an expensive wall decor or shut up and pay the increased price as I am stuck with the equipment which I fully paid for and I cannot even return it or do anything about it.

We have been having problems with two of our three glass break sensors. They continue to go offline. My husband has to remove and replace batteries to make them work properly. The batteries are new. So that isn't the problem. The company has sent us new ones, but continues to go offline. I want to return and be credit, but Vivint not willing to do that. I don't want to pay for something that doesn't work properly. If they don't credit us guess we have to sue them.

For security, we got from Vivint three cameras and the actual panel where you can arm the facility as well as a few motion sensor types of things. We had a tech come out not too long ago to upgrade. The service has been good so far and the techs who came out did a good job too.

I come from having ATT digital life for 3 years and Vivint was definitely a breath of fresh air. The installation was amazing, the technician was amazing. The equipment looks great. Thank you Vivint. The shady sales tactics that people spoke of, I didn’t get that. Hogan was really helpful, I was on phone with him for 1 hour asking question. Everyone just needs to do their research.

Dave, our "salesman" was actually a great person, and I never felt sales "pitched" at all. He rocked actually. And then the quick turn around into installation - Man! Wes, our installer rocked. He kept to himself, solved problems (with our permission, and stayed well past when we expected him to stay. (We have a large expansive home. He made sure everything was on point before leaving - despite how exhausted he must have been. I can't exactly say what the value of the system is "user-wise" yet - it's way too new - but the rating I am giving the value is the Vivint HUMANS that serviced my home and that in today's world is a rare value in itself!

We got set up yesterday and so far so good. We do need to call because I am not sure how to set it up so I don't have to log in each time and the technician forgot to do the side garage door sensor and the glass break on all the windows but so far we are happy.

Technician was clear on all information and services, assisted with recommendations and education on products best suited to my home. Would recommend based on product quality and personalization of both equipment and diversity of access panel. Favorite feature would be the remote access and multiple pin numbers. Easy to add a person for house sitting and then delete after.

Both the salesman (Derrick) and the technician (Pablo) were professional. They answered all my questions, and helped paint a picture of how my home would be safer than it has been with ADT. I had some concerns with my ADT service, and the response time from Vivint sealed the deal for me.

My package from Vivint includes the doorbell feature. Vivint was the security system I used at my previous company as well. My interaction with their rep was nice and easy. I wanted to get a home security system because of where I live and the one I got from Vivint was a good buy. For the most part, Vivint's reps have been good. Also, the installation didn't take too long and went pretty smooth. They showed me the stuff that was available to me. Then, the last guy who had come in to put the doorbell said he was gonna get back to me because there was a problem. I have two phones and I wanted to be able to look at the camera on both phones, which I can. But only one of them would actually alarm when somebody comes to the front door. It never did, but I figured out what I gotta do. Nevertheless, I like the idea that I can arm the system on my phone and that I can look at my screen and see what’s going on at the front door. I’d recommend Vivint to a friend. In fact, one of my coworkers got a Vivint system after I talked him up.

It took 7-8 calls, including sending me worthless equipment before I was finally mailed the appropriate equipment. Each technician I spoke with faulted the prior technician assessment. Yet I still paid full price for a dysfunctional security. I am at the point where I am counting the days for my Vivint contract ends.

My name is Ruby **, I am 56 years old, I have been a Vivint customer of 3 years, and I am on disability. The Vivint Home Services program was presented to me 3 years ago at $49.99 a month and all the free equipment we wanted. No contract was mentioned. Period. My husband then got home from work and I had to leave so I told him (in front of the rep) the monthly rate seemed good to me, I liked the free equipment, and our homeowners would go down. Sadly, I did not mention any specifics, to include pricing. I didn't think I would need to. I let my husband know it sounded good to me and to let me know what he thought when I got home. I am the primary breadwinner and he handles the finances so we always make decisions this way.
When I came home I asked what he thought. He said he liked it, again no specifics, so we could move forward. When they arrived to do the install the next day the rep had me show the tech where I wanted the cameras and such. He then sat down and finished the paperwork with my husband. I saw the contract for the first time on the 30th of July and noticed that my name was typed on the document.
Why did he have my husband sign a document with my name on it? Why didn't it have his name on it? I know why he didn't present it to me. Because I wouldn't have signed it. It was not what I agreed to. I get it. So why wasn't my husbands name on there? We wouldn't have had a leg to stand on if that had been the case. I should point out that the sales rep knew prior to my husbands' arrival on the first day that I know nothing of our bills. I had no idea what our homeowners' insurance monthly cost was, nor even who our policy was through. He had asked me about the details in order to tell me what type of discount I might get on my homeowners' policy.
Although service has been sketchy, to say the least, we enjoyed the benefit of the discount on our policy. Ironically, my husbands' car got vandalized, then my son's new car had the window broken several months later and your cameras missed both events. The garage door opener never works on the app, I can't talk to people at the doorbell unless I'm on a wifi network, which isn't often when out and about. Again, we stayed because of the homeowners discount.
Additionally, I have had a major heart attack and 3 major spinal surgeries over a time frame of 9 months. I am about a year post-op, hence the decision to move to Florida for my health. Since we are moving out of state I called in on July 30th to cancel as I thought this was a month to month utility such as cable. Imagine my surprise when I discovered a contract, in my name, signed by my husband, that I had no knowledge of its existence. None. Listen to the recording with the rep on the 30th. It took me 20 minutes to understand there was a signed contract for future services. I thought they were trying to charge me for equipment when it was supposed to be free. The girl I was talking to got cocky and said, "There. I just sent you a copy of the signed contract. That should help you remember," most likely thinking she would shut me up. Big mistake.
Within seconds I knew I had never seen that document, nor was I aware of its existence, and that was NOT my signature. I immediately sent in copies of my husbands and my signature on our social security cards, while on the phone with her. She knew that was not my signature and the only options she would offer me is: 1- pay the remaining balance due on the contract knowing it was possibly a FORGED contract. (For real????) But I understood her side so ok. 2- Make the new home buyer take over the contract, which is simply not my place. 3- We physically take the equipment off my house, move it to Florida, then put it back up myself. OR you will be so kind as to do it for only $125.00 per event. Are you kidding me with that?
When my husband got home the evening of the 30th we compared notes, which is how we figured out exactly how much the sales representative misrepresented the services and the price. I even asked the rep specifically that first day about moving them to a new house as we knew this was coming up, we just weren't sure when. He assured me the company could move them to a new house if that happened but forgot to mention the fee of $125.000 for each part. That rep also knew I never saw the bills. If we hadn't put the house up for sale I never would have known this had happened. Well played Vivint, Well played.
So I sent the social security cards in on the 30th and they send it to have the signatures verified, which should take 1-2 days, then I find out they deny it initially. So it gets escalated 3-5 days. Again, are you kidding me with this??? Frankly, my husband scribbles, my signature is big and loopy. I can supply document after document verifying that. Which is why I sent the social security cards, which I signed in 2010 when we got married. His was signed before we met. Can't get any clearer than that, can it? Wrong!
I have spoken to so many people there and no one seems to care. They could be less alarmed about a fraudulently obtained document made for financial gain and forgery. I have been unknowingly misled for 3 years and I am over it! All I initially wanted was for them to cancel the contract. They refused. Even after we were previously told two times in the last few months we could cancel with no penalties.
Once I found out about the contract I was livid! I then requested the contract be canceled and I get refunded in full with reasonable interest, otherwise, I informed them I would press any legal, criminal and civil charges I could against them. I am in the middle of relocating to a new state and I didn't have the time, nor the inclination to pursue this to that extent. Until now. I am angry. They agreed to cancel the contract today, finally, but denied a refund. Watch out for these people!!!

We’ve been with Vivint for ages and they've been fine. But I’ve had a couple of instances where we’ve accidentally set off the alarm and the time between setting off the alarm and them checking on it seems to be a little bit longer than I would like it to be. Then a few times, I had problems resetting something. I called through the panel and their people guided me through the process with no problem. Also, when we were away a couple of years back, our alarm system went out completely. When we got back, Vivint put in a whole new panel for us.
We have sensors on every one of our outside screen doors, our backdoor, our front door, and our front window. But there's one sensor that eats batteries like they're going out of style to the point where I buy batteries constantly, which means that my key fob doesn’t work when I set the alarm. I have to set it by cellphone. We’ve changed the batteries four times in the last year. Other than that, everything else seems to be working okay. I would recommend Vivint.

I already had a home security system, however, I saw Vivint on TV and I liked it better. The camera in the doorbell was what got me and I'm getting rid of ADT as soon as I make my next payment on it. They were trying to tell me that I'm gonna be locked in with Vivint for so many years but the only thing I'm locked into is paying off the equipment.
Everybody at Vivint was cool, even the installers. When the system was installed, they walked me through the process. After that, I just played with it a little bit. It's very easy. I was able to download the Vivint app wherein I can go on my phone and operate the system anywhere in the world. We go out of town a lot and if I get a chime on my phone, I can check to see what's going on with it. Overall, the system is very simple to operate once you put your code in and whenever I have a problem, I would call in and they would walk me through it, and check it out. They were very professional about it. I tried to recommend them to some of my buddies but nobody would bite on it. Nevertheless, the service is good and by far the best service you can get for right now.

The Vivint sales rep was great. He was amazing. All of our doors have the sensor on them now. We have a motion detector, our thermostat, and the smoke detector. We have a problem with our thermostat though. It stays offline for some reason. So, the feature of us being able to adjust our temperature from our app or when we leave doesn't work. I've called several times and they rebooted it and done whatever, but it just hasn't worked. So, I would love for that to get fixed whenever possible. Other than that, we love Vivint.

A Vivint door-to-door salesman came around when I was researching various options for home security. The way that he sold the service to us was a little iffy just because he promised stuff, but I don't think he really even knew if it was something that they could guarantee. Also, I wasn't entirely sure I wanted the home security yet and he kind of pushed it. He said that they don't drill into anything and if I don't want it, I have 72 hours to ask for it to be removed and they'd remove it. He wanted to make a sale and he was willing to tell me whatever he thought I wanted to hear. So, the installation team came and they were great but they drilled into all the walls. I wasn't too happy with that part with the initial salesperson but it's been overall good after.
I got a service package that's got the thermostat and it's also attached to security cameras. It controls the lock on the front door as well. The system is linked to my phone too. We also have a carbon monoxide detector and a fire alarm, which is nice 'cause if I'm not home and the fire alarm is going off, it'll ring to my phone. I like it. Overall, I'm satisfied with the service so far. I have had to call them on multiple occasions for getting help with various things around the house, and they've always been really great on the phone. They've come out and fixed stuff when they needed to be fixed.

A Vivint representative came to my door stating that vivint would pay off my ADT contract. Complete farce. The details of a very expensive loan came through my email 4 days later which bypassed the 3 day cancellation time frame. Now I am trapped in 2 rip off security companies contracts and neither company is worth it. Please beware of these scams. They will lie to your face and take advantage of you. I'm a disabled veteran but want to warn everyone it's easy to be taken advantage of by these companies

For the first 2 years was working well. I could talk to people that ring the bell, even when I was out of the house, by now 90% of the times cameras are off. Doorbell most of the times is not working, we have a few technicians already but the problem is still there, I had to get other brands cameras to keep safer, don't trust Vivint anymore.

When my last son moved out, he insisted that I get a security system. He uses Vivint and told me about it. I went with them and thus far, Vivint's reps have been very efficient. One time, there was something wrong with my system and the guy told me that he would send me the little thing to install. I told him no. I was 69 and I wasn’t climbing up on something to install. Then, they said they were gonna do a service charge. I said to the young man that I’ve been with them for two years. They get the payment way before time so I don’t understand why they were telling me that I would have to pay $40. I said that no way am I paying that. I told them there was a lot of alarm companies out here and I could easily switch so they sent somebody out free of charge. Even so, I don’t think I should have had to fight them for it. Despite this, I’ve had a pleasant experience with Vivint for the most part.

We had lived out in the country the last 14 years and we never had to lock our doors. And moving here into a suburb where there are people all around and whether or not you think you're living in a really good neighborhood, there’s always one or two jerks that are gonna disappoint you. So, that’s why we decided to get a Vivint security system.
The Vivint rep came about a month after we were in this house, sat down and talked with my husband and me. And that afternoon, they put the system in. We got the monitoring inside of my house and then access to emergency if I need it. My doorbell also lets me know who’s at the door and I can talk with them. And then, we just added the outside camera.
So far, the service is going just fine. However, one time, we couldn’t lock our doors so we had to call and it was taken care of within that telephone call. And then there was another one where my panel would not get off the doorbell camera. Something stuck. I have a little, next-door neighbor girl and she loves to ring my doorbell. I don’t know if that caused some reaction because it was just constantly pressed for five minutes until I could come from outside into the house and out to the front to answer it. I called and they took care of it right away then. And one other call was I did not know that there were batteries in the doorlock, and we couldn’t get the door locked. And then I called and the rep said, “Have you checked your batteries?” So I checked them. And If I actually heard a beep, I know that I need to check the batteries. Other than that, we have had no problems. We absolutely love Vivint.

Everyone was very kind. I did not feel pressured or intimidated. Communication between everyone probably could have been better because I was transferred to some dead ends, but everyone was very knowledgable about their piece. For the security of my house and to get control of my kids, I wanted a home security system. When I’m outside, I can watch them on my phone and if there is an emergency, the system would be okay for that. Someone talked to me about Vivint and said that it’s a good company. Three installers came and the installation was great.

We were on the phone with Vivint for about 8 hours or longer talking to several different phone assistants until I told the rep. to send a repairman to fix our problem or discontinue our service with Vivint. I believe if you are the provider you should provide the service instead of trying to do it over the phone.

Glad to be gone. Tried to upgrade with two outside cameras. Very expensive but doable until they said my contract would be renewed 6 more years. Service terminates 08-08-19. I will not sell the equipment as it would put someone else in the same situation.

Vivint has been a pretty decent security system for us. The only thing that can be bothersome is changing the batteries in some of the sensors. Overall 4/5 stars! They have really good customer service though and it's a great value for your dollar. We do recommend Vivint for all your security needs. Thank you!

A guy from Vivint came here to my neighborhood and the installation experience was cool. However, I had problems with Vivint. Two times, their reps came here to change the batteries and everything messed up. When the guy came out, he gave me a different price. Vivint was charging too much and I would never get them again. The experience with Vivint has been terrible and I’ll be glad when the contract is over.

Salesperson was very nice and informative. I was worried about having to wait a long time for an installation date. But, the install happened the next day! And it was super fast! Setup was pretty fast as well. I'm so excited to have my new system in my home.

Our thermostat died - we didn’t realize it was shorting out our air conditioner. We had to have a repairman come out to fix the air conditioner and they said the thermostat was wired backwards with cut out the power on our air conditioner - so we had to get a new thermostat; however, it’s not Vivint and I cannot actively change from my phone. When we called Vivint - they just wanted to walk us thru the issue on phone rather than have someone come out — their reasoning was, "We don’t have a service tech that lives in Lincoln."

I went to Best Buy and I was shown the quotes. My experience with the Vivint sales rep was very good and I didn’t have any issues. I got the smart locks, cameras, the doorbell camera, movement sensors and fire alarms from Vivint. The installation went very good. The installers were very clean and did the installation quickly. All the service I received from Vivint was excellent.

We're quite happy with our Vivint system. I talked with their very personable rep for a little while, and then their people came in and modified a couple of things, put the panel in, and they were gone. It took them an hour and 15 minutes. And whenever we have any issue, it's dealt with in a correct and good manner. They respond to us properly.

Generally speaking, I am very satisfied with Vivint. I feel that my home is secure. Only once have I discovered that my back door was unlocked even though the panel said all was secure; this concerned me. Just this week I have had an issue with the doorbell ringing outside the house but not being heard on the inside. This happened several months ago and my daughter was on the phone for a long time getting this problem solved. I am waiting for her to have time to do that again; can this not be fixed through your system?

I have asked for several years for a new sign to be put in my front yard as mine is torn up and the sun powered light illuminated said raggedy sign may be the first year I had Vivint. My panel has had to be reset several times, makes noises and says disconnected. To remedy this I have to call and it takes a while to get it resolved, the customer support people have to "reset it". Meanwhile I have a 60/week job.
The panel makes noise to say the smoke detector is not active at least 10 times a day despite me calling customer service for help, changing the battery and reinstalling it several times, never has anyone sent someone over to look it at and make it stop making noise. So, I turned the volume so low that now I can't hear if a door is opened. Before that started, I set off my smoke detectors several times and I guess, despite it being my understanding per the salesman that sold me the 6 year contract, it is not being monitored because not once has anyone called while they were going off.
Overall I am, to say the very kindest words, very disappointed with the price, service and quality. Lastly, door to door salespeople keep coming trying to get to me to buy Vivint despite my broken sign being visible in the flower bed by the front door. Needless to say, I have an alarm set to cancel service upon expiration of the contract in a few months.

I’m not impressed with the service I have received. I have been chasing down the activation team for two days now. They were very quick to take my money, but no follow up. They promised to call last night, they never did. I called 3 times after my phone appointment was missed. Only to finally be told the tech assisting me has gone home and would call me tomorrow... I explained I would be working and if they could call my husband. I called again this morning after my husband never received a call, to be told I’d be called back in five minutes which was actually an hour later. Well I was very specific about my needs and wants and they were still not met. No one set up a tech to come out and install cameras, no one has called me to discuss this upgrade or other upgrades... I’m going to look for another company, in the meanwhile, I’ll just have to resort to this. Very disappointed.

Initially I was very pleased with Vivint. Installation went very well. However, since that time I now have trouble disarming my alarm form the app. Sometimes it says that it couldn't connect to disarm even when I am standing in my house or in the garage waiting for it to disarm so that I don't set it off. I can't tell you the number of times I open my front door to not have the app work. I then race to take off my shoes and run up to the mail level to disarm it from the panel before it goes off and disturbs the whole neighborhood. If this only happened occasionally, I wouldn't mind, but it happens several times a week.
When I first signed up for service the price was competitive, but now there are so many other options and most of my friends pay half as much as I do for the same level of monitoring. Also it's difficult to do anything without calling customer service. Personally I like email for a paper trail, but for almost everything I have to call customer service. I won't be renewing my contract with Vivint, it's not worth it.

I’ve been with this company 2 years. The accountant department have me in the rear it from day one. Somehow they changed the date of payment and I’m always charged $10.00 late fee. They say I owe nearly $300.00 of miss payments/late fees. I’ve prove of all payments and have mailed each money order stubs to them without any vail. I'm tired of arguing with these people in billing/accounting. My next step is hiring a attorney, and let them battle this issue and in return file a claim for damages.

We had a man come to update our system several weeks ago. We decided on a partial upgrade and that was mostly done, except for a part which allowed our system to work with the newer ones. He was to return to install it. The man who returned, was told he was to install a whole new system. You need an upgrade on communication.

He loves his new service. I was suppose to get a 100 Dollar referral fee. I also was suppose to get a reduced rate for my monthly service. Not much of a referral fee even after my dedicated service with y'all plus never a late payment. I am on a limited income and I think my monthly fee should be reduced. I have also referred several other people which techs never showed up, no fault of mine so y'all lost 3 referrals.

Our Vivint system has generally been reliable and the few times we've needed assistance, Vivint has responded with over-the-phone tech support or an on-site visit with a friendly and knowledge technician. The only aspects that have caused some concern are the life of the batteries in an electronic door lock (not bad, but it can act odd when they run low), and the misalignment with one door sensor, but it's on a door that is used often and can be force shut hard by wind.

I'm financing almost $1,600 over 5 years for overpriced equipment that cannot work consistently. I'm sick and tired of trying to troubleshoot on my own or having to call customer service. All the employees are courteous, friendly and very helpful. Seniors have a way of getting excited when things change so your employees put us at ease while helping us through what needs to be done. Our doorbell doesnt work, the magnets for the doors are gone and the replacements that were sent were not the same. Our system isn't connecting to the internet and I'm paying $67 a month!!! I called after my five year contract was complete and was told that my bill would be reduced by $25/mo. When I received my next auto billing, it only went down $10/mo. I called and was told that I would get a $25 credit on my credit card; so far, not such credit has been issued. I plan on cancelling my deal with Vivint and use another monitoring service.

I have been with Vivint for a little over a year and a half. I have had issues/concerns with my equipment from early on. I have had numerous calls into Vivint and have had multiple techs come to my home and try to fix my equipment. The calls to Vivint have typically resulted in no answer(s) and having to have a tech come and check things out. They have replaced my equipment, reinstalled devices, and spent many hours trying to make things right.
The last tech I had come out, Jospeh **, was AMAZING!! He spent hours trying to troubleshoot the issues and spent hours at my home doing everything possible to make things right. He was out three times in a matter of 10 days. It is hard as my wife and I have had to miss work for these issues to be worked on just to have them to continue. Even as of this morning, while playing back a video on my panel, my panel went totally black and froze up. I had to reboot my whole system. It is frustrating and inconvenient. Again, the techs, especially Joseph **. are not the issue. My issue/concern is my equipment and the lack of confidence I have in a product that has caused stress, loss time at work, and peace of mind that my home and family are safe and secured.

I'm on holidays and have someone looking after our house and acreage. The person opened my shop door setting off my alarm. I got notification of the trigger but he had no idea he set the alarm off. I have been asking for years to give some indication in my out building when the alarm is triggered. You can lock doors turn things off and on, watch things through camera. But you can not turn on a simple light or siren when a alarm is triggered.

Doorbell camera works but sometimes there is a delay, deadbolt door locks work fine even the one that is on the detached garage door which is 38 feet from the sky control panel. We have one lever trustin door lock that is 30 feet from the panel and it has always had problems even after a z wave repeater was installed. It locks itself at times, loses communication with the panel won't lock or unlock with phone apps or control panel plus it gives false readings most of the time.

Very good response when doors are inadvertently opened & alarm is on. However, we're paying too much for the service. Shouldn't cost more than $40.00. Also, when certain batteries go out, the over-the-phone techs are inadequately trained to walk you through the process. Local tech was great.

The Vivint rep was good. I bought what was sold to us and the installation went well. Overall, the system is good. The only thing I have an issue with is that they should offer upgrades with the equipment every few years.

I have cameras, doorbell alarm and thermostat from Vivint. Those were what I wanted when I was looking for it. I first heard about Vivint through researching, looking for an alarm company and asking my neighbor who had Vivint. I originally bought a thing to make sure I could see 24-hour recording. It never worked and I gave up on it. I sent it back to them and they tried to troubleshoot it for three months but they couldn’t get it to work too and they took that off. Now, my phone is asking for it and it would work if I had the stuff, so I was very frustrated. The installation team was amazing. They spent about 10 hours in my house and answered everything to my satisfaction. All the cameras covered exactly where I wanted them to and there was no gaps or holes.

I have been with Vivint for over 3 years now and they have far exceeded my expectations which were fairly low coming off of 2 other services. The thing I liked best is not having a huge upfront investment. The features I wanted would have cost me $2,300 upfront with another National Brand Security service and Vivint allowed me to spread that out over my 3 year contract which included warranty on all the parts including batteries for the sensors. After 3 years they offered me a new night vision outdoor camera and reduced my monthly rate considerably which I did not expect. The equipment they installed has worked perfectly for all 3 years and the few times I have had questions they have answered the phone without holding and I was able to speak to a real American that I could understand and could understand me. I strongly recommend Vivint for their quality and their true Customer Service.

Since day 1 I’ve had nothing but problems. The main panel they gave me is junk and can’t handle the bandwidth of 4 cameras like they told me it could. They did a firmware update that forced me to get a tech out to look at the panel and said they were going to charge me for the service call. After I had to lay into them and get a manager they said they would have the service call fee. If I could go back in time I never would have got Vivint.

We had a tech install a new door lock, he did an excellent job. Your customer service people were very friendly, respectful and very knowledgeable. It’s a joy speaking with them. To whom it may concern, The account is in my daughter's name, Brittany **, I am the dad. I called about a week and half ago about the alarm constantly going off. Some was supposed to come out thereafter, but never showed up...I did not receive a call saying that the person was not going to be here. The problem still exists. I am paying $70 plus dollars a month for what? Other companies are calling me to switch back to them, but I choose to say with Vivint because I once like the service, but now it is getting expensive and nothing is getting fixed...

I was very disappointed with my experience chatting with a representative. The representative was not very knowledgeable as to why I was without service for 2 weeks. I asked for a credit to be applied to my account for the services not working, and the rep said they would only credit $15. Two weeks of service is $40, so I’m paying $25 for services that weren’t working at no fault of my own. This is not the first time it’s happened and it’s been happening more frequently.

When we first started out Vivint they were great; easy to contact and work with. Over the years they have become very expensive and next to impossible to contact. I wanted to upgrade our system to add features like cameras and a doorbell. This turned out to be something very difficult for them to comprehend, as I spent well over an hour on the phone with them and they could not understand what I was asking for. In the end it was going to cost me a lot as I would have to upgrade every piece of equipment in my home to accommodate part of what I was looking for. Yes, they still didn’t even get the setup correct in the end.
We decided that the price was not worth it and purchase everything we wanted to add from other suppliers at a fraction of the Vivint price. Another time I asked get a new yard sign as the ones that I had, for eight years, had deteriorated. They wanted to charge for them. Also for what they provide, their monthly pricing is way more than their competitors. This is why in our other home we went to a different provider.

We had a contract with Vivint for five (5) years. The end date of the contract was July 15, 2019. We called Consumer Services with Vivint to tell them we did not want to renew the contract or enter into a new contract and that they should stop drafting our bank account for the monthly fee, after the July-August, 2019 payment had been drafted, since the contract ended and by contract being on a month to month basis, we were giving the required 30-day notice.
The person at Vivint was most unhelpful and and although we told her, she seemed intent on trying constantly to talk over us by asking over and over what our problems with Vivint were and finally trying to sell us a plan that cost considerably less than what we had paid. Monthly for five years. She FINALLY told us to sent an e-mail notice, giving our 30-day notice, to the e-mail address of documents@vivint.com, which we did on July 15, 2019. Also, this was the second person we had to talk with, after telling the first person our request.

The cameras on my system have not been operating properly for more than a few months. Aside from being told to unplug and reboot the panel and all this mess, nothing has worked. And calling customer service for help takes a ridiculous amount of time that I don’t have not to mention them making me run around unplugging and replugging things in. Very disappointed in the quality of products and the minimal customer support! Send a tech to deal with this crap. I pay for a service. I shouldn’t have to be constantly providing my own technical service.

Vivint start and stop my service whenever they want to. They don't abide by the contract and I feel that I don't have to either. The technicians don't finish the jobs and won't come back out to finish. I have to cancel my contract three month in advance and wait until the contract end, but I don't have any service. That not fair.

I like the service but I don't feel like there is good follow up or customer service. My doorbell cam was down for like two weeks and I was trying everything. A few times things like that have happened and I wouldn't expect it. The sign on experience was great though, the installation was great.

Though Vivint is a very effective system they don't consider wear of their equipment thus denying any chance to update the equipment for the life of the contract. With time the camera becomes outdated, the system reminds to change the batteries in your glass breaking sensor yet fails to tell you how (if you have one), there's also no way of locating the sense.

I believe you are either going to pay for having a great system like Vivint, or are going to pay later for not have the right one! Vivint gives our family peace of mind and convenience without having to worry about doing it all myself. Not sure why I am getting this but since it's here I will bring up a few things. One my certificate for service is still not registered with the local police department or fire so if an alarm goes off they will not come to my house. Second my back up battery is failing, they said on the phone covered but I have to pay a copay and they will ship me a new one. Really where is the person to know where this is and how to replace it.. it's not me! Third my first year on your services sucked. Was always going down or stuff would stop. They put so many holes everywhere. I still have low hang wires dangling from my out side panel room just handing there.

Had issues with equipment since beginning. Resolution isn’t as great as other products on the market. When having issues with the panel they expect you to troubleshoot electrical wires with no electrical experience before they would send someone out to help fix the equipment. Air conditioning is two levels and the bottom level never seems to work right even after attempts to delete and add the device. DO NOT recommend, I’m just waiting until October because even though they are breaching the contract by not providing adequate service they refuse to release you from your contract, it’s insane.

When installer came to install equipment, I wanted to add other equipment but due to the limit amount, I was not able to add additional equipment. My concern was that I was not told that I had a limit of a certain amount to be approved for equipment. I was unaware that my credit was being check because I wasn’t informed. Due to me just purchasing a home, my credit was not approved to increase that limit amount. Made the experience frustrating due to the situation. Overall, the installer was patient and very thoroughly and efficient.

Everyone was extremely nice and helpful though the sales guy kind of rushed to have the installation done immediately. It could have waited until next day because it took almost 5 hours and kept us up until 1am.. We made the agreement late in the day.

Called for advice on my camera door and customer service was very informative and very helpful. Anytime I call they are always pleasant on the phone. I was getting a screen door installed and they helped me take down the camera down without them having to come out themselves which saved me $50.

We had Vivint installed less than a year ago. When the sales kid was here one of the reasons we went ahead and purchased the system was he said that the app would still work after we cancelled the service. We had no intention in keeping Vivint beyond the contract term but assuming the price would rise after completion, we would at least still be able to control our home through the app. We wrongly assumed we would lose just the monitoring part. Even though we followed their cancellation procedure, they went ahead and charged me an extra month and have not refunded the money. It's now 2 months later and still trying to get the refund. I would like to know how many other people were told the app would still work after cancellation and how many were charged after they followed the companies policy to cancel. As I compare your prices your service is the highest cost per month. In addition, initially, we had purchased a doorbell camera. It rarely worked. After many calls, your tech person came to remove it. My complaint besides the unsatisfactory equipment was that I never received a credit or discount for the many months of being charged. In fairness, when I have had to call customer service, all of them were professional and competent. And the few times the alarm went off, your people immediately made contact to confirm and verify the situation.

This company started out good, man YEARS ago, with us. BUT, that has gone away many years ago! When you call Customer Service for an Alarm problem, the wait time is Foolishly Long! Then if our internet service goes down on the Alarm System, There is NO response from Vivint. So if we were robbed, or a House Fire, or needing an ambulance, you are out of Luck!

The tech was awesome. He did fix my driveway camera problem, but my door bell camera uses batteries like crazy. If the batteries last two months, it’s as good as it gets. Just seems to me that I’m changing batteries way too often. Is that about the life that Vivint get on these doorbell cameras? I have bought batteries at different locations and different brands to see if that helps, but it doesn’t.

After I reboot the system multiple times and didn’t work, I called for troubleshooting the issue. I was told by the support team that I had to have a tech come over my house and it will cost me $50.00 dollars. I said ABSOLUTELY NOT, I already pay a lot of money for the service and I refused to pay more. This is so ridiculous, it's your equipment so you should keep maintenance in it. Very disappointed with the company.

My husband and I had a complete alarm system installed with automated door locks, thermostats and cameras. The install took more than 8 hours on a Saturday. After the tech left we realized the thermostats didn’t work, customer service could not help until Monday so we had to get help from an HVAC tech, only to find out the thermostats were installed incorrectly. That same evening in our 90 degree house I got a bank notification that my checking account was debited $1800 by Vivint. Our equipment was supposed to be paid out over 2 years, but was instead debited straight out of our bank account. After acknowledging their error, customer service stated they could not help until billing opened on Monday.
Upon inspecting the installation of outside cameras we noticed the tech had drilled multiple holes in our eaves that he then filled because he could not access the place he chose from the attic. My husband and I decided that night to cancel the service. My husband sent in a written request and talked to 3 different customer service representatives to make sure it was cancelled. We were first told that we had the wrong account number on the cancellation even though it was the carbon copy from the technician at install. We finally got the cancellation confirmed. We received a call from customer loyalty a week later offering us a $150 credit if we kept the service. We had come to like the equipment and app controls so we agreed to keep the service. We were never contacted again by customer service about the cancellation or to schedule the equipment to be picked up.
Fast forward 31 days later and we lost app service at midnight. Upon contacting customer service they show our account was cancelled and show no record of a credit or conversation with customer loyalty about keeping the service. Our monthly and equipment fee were just debited this week. Now customer loyalty will call us back in 24-48 hours. Now we are passed the cancellation period to receive a full refund and are being told we have to pay off the equipment since we kept it. I would not recommend this company to anyone. It has honestly been the most ridiculous and frustrating experience I’ve ever had, made more so by the fact I really would love to keep using the equipment and app if Vivint would just provide service and customer service that actually works.

At this point my 3 year experience, out of 5 year term with Vivint, has been a roller coaster. It started with a quick decision to get into Smart Home service with monitoring. Unsure of my obligation to my current provider at the time, I was assured by the salesperson that Vivint could cover any costs. After a few phone calls, Vivint was able to cover $500 of the $594 I owed to my previous provider. After only a few months, it was apparent that I would not be able to sustain the $90 per month charge I’d signed up for. Only one phone call to Vivint and I had less features, but less cost at $72 per month.
Next, 24 months into my ‘experience’, I was informed that the space monkey photo storing feature would be discontinued. While Attempting to recover my 24 months of photos, it was determined my space monkey module was defective and the photos would never be recovered. My mistake, I should not have put that much trust into the feature. Losing one of my most valued features, I reached out to Vivint to see what reduction I could expect in my monthly charge. Short of losing all Smart Home features to $50/mo, there was no other deductions. At this point I started talking price with other customers and found other homes in my city had the same Vivint Smart Home plans for less than my reduced monthly payment. One more positive note in conclusion. I’ve only had one sensor failure in 36 months and Vivint covered all cost in replacing it within 2 weeks.

I had requested to opt out of the cellular fee since my system is over 10 years old and only functioning on the 3G cellular network. The agent was not reassuring the fact that this would be corrected. The agent identified that this was not transacted properly by Vivint within the window to opt out of the cellular fee. I acted in accordance with the specifics to opt out but Vivint did not.

This product is expensive. When we moved we were not able to use the products in our new house. They will not change the contact to suit the new home. When my husband died, they still held me to the contract. Many other companies worked with me because of my limited budget.

We recently bought a home and, during that time, we needed a security system. We purchased a Vivint service package that has two thermostats and then a doorbell at a Best Buy store. There was a sales rep when I went in and he was good. Then, the Vivint guys did the installation and they were also good.

I bought Vivint from Best Buy only because I didn’t have to buy the monitoring. Now Best Buy cuts ties with Vivint and I have to now pay for the app every month just to use it. I wish this was told to me before I bought it from Best Buy. Can you’ll send me where I signed that if Best Buy stopped selling Vivint that I would then be charged every month to use the app. I took a year just to pay off the cameras/etc. I THOUGHT I WAS DONE!! This just doesn’t seem fair! I cannot afford this $21.00 a month fee. But I’m stuck with this equipment that is useless without the app. Please someone fix this issue!!

My doorbell started ringing all by itself. I called Vivint and got immediate assistance to resolve (reboot of bell/system). Very easy (on my end) at panel. Resolved. Service agent was great. This happened again, about two months later. I called Vivint, rebooted system. Problem resolved.

Video quality and sound are poor and shuts off during storms. I would swap if I didn't have to pay for the expensive merchandise. I think other systems have better quality video, accessibility, and price but I went with what a friend recommended to me. Only cool thing is locking/unlocking the front door from our phone but you can do that with any other system. Overall I think it's overpriced and not good enough quality.

I like Vivint for the customer service you receive when you call, however, I am not happy that because I had to replace my garage door opener (same brand as when Vivint installed system but newer model of opener) they (Vivint) after a number of years have not updated the alarm system to accommodate a newer model of garage door opener. That was the primary reason I choose Vivint (because I could open and close my garage door remotely) after I was only able to take advantage of it for a few months before it (the garage door opener broke and the Vivint system) became obsolete. Now I am stuck in a 5 year contract and am not receiving the services that I originally bought into. I have numerous times asked them to research the problem and come up with an answer - to no avail. So I am counting down the days that I can complete my contract and change security systems.

I was very pleased at first when I got the alarm system. But then, you all changed up services and deleted things that I had become accustomed to, and still expect the same rental fee for services you do not provide anymore. I’m talking about the Space Monkey as well as how the iPhone App no longer works the way it used to. When a visitor is detected, my phone would actually ring so that I could be notified. That was a plus for me. I recommended other people to your company with that feature alone as a selling point. I also never received my garage door opener! I’m very disappointed with it all at this point.

I have had technical issues since we got the service in 2014, and I have called for service on phone and in person several times. The equipment is not working well, the blame is put on our internet provider (AT&T), or location of the equipment etc. It is never a Vivint issue. The 5 year contract is unnatural in other Services for Alarms and Coverage, when this is over we are done.

I would strongly discourage anyone from signing up with this service. It worked fine for the first 6 months, but ever since - there has been at least one component that does not work, the play back feature works occasionally but not when you really need to scroll back to see something, 1 or 2 cameras out of 4 is always out of service.
When you call customer service, plan to spend at least 45 minutes but more accurately over an hour on the phone jumping through hoops and flipping over backwards to get any sort or service... After that, they will send a service tech to you, who will not fix the problem and then leave. Then you will have to call customer service again, and guess what - you’ll have to do the same flips as before just to have a service tech sent to AGAIN not fix the problem.
The service tech will also give you his cell phone number so that if you have any problems within the next 30 days you can call him directly to return so that you don’t have to spend over an hour again on the phone with customer service.... but guess what!!?! They ignore your calls and texts and don’t return at all so you still haven’t had the multiple malfunctions of this subpar system fixed. Eventually you will give up and just realize that you’re NEVER going to get this company to live up to what they guaranteed when you signed up for the service. So let me save you all time now by telling you, you are better off going with a better company like ADT or nothing at all, because nothing at all is what you will get with Vivint. I have been trying to get them to fix this system for 2 years and every time they come it is NOT fixed, now I am shopping for a new service provider.

Every aspect of our experience has been terrible. Every piece of equipment is faulty. No one can resolve issues. Overpaid for months on end. New equipment that was to be sent wasn’t even ordered to do so. We should be allowed to cancel our contract.

Cameras are constantly offline, doorbell and doorbell camera has not worked in months. I have to constantly call to get cameras working and then they only work for a few days. Their alarm monitoring is very good, they are quick to make sure everything is ok if Alarm goes off. Cameras are important to me for security, so it’s a bummer they can’t get the rest of their system working.

Great customer service! Always willing to help me through the process to fix the issue or sends a new replacement part out for free. The equipment quality is nice when working properly. Sometimes the 24/7 recording will stop working and have to reset it. Another issue are some but not all of my cameras will appear offline on my phone app and will have to reset those as well. Kind of hard to fix if away from your house when issues like this happen. Overall, I’ve enjoyed having the peace of mind that my family and house is secure with Vivint.

VIVINT.
The brand new door lock makes some ridiculous clicking sound that only stops if you bang on the door. It’s just gone way downhill since I first got the system which tells me they just don’t care. The customer service reps are absolutely awful for the most part with the exception of 1 lady that was good to us and tried to help. Otherwise they have been terrible. These are our experiences and hope others have better!

Vivint, by far, is the worst home security system company that I have ever had. I paid off, and closed my account over 2 years ago, and just recently I was informed that I owe you more money and that the account is still active. So just to make myself clear... Deactivate my account IMMEDIATELY, and understand that I am not paying you one more red cent.

A door-to-door salesperson from Vivint said I could get a rate of $29.95 if I called Vivint. My monthly rate had just increased from $35 to $50 so I called. Nothing could be done, but one of the representatives I talked to said I will be able to negotiate a better rate in October. In the meantime, I'm stuck with the $50 rate. I'm hoping this is true.

Called Friday and had my system installed on Sunday. This system was exactly what we were looking for and fair priced. The first time I called the representative was very nice and gave me all info needed. I was very impressed with the installer, he is new and was very pleasant and professional. He cleaned up after himself and patched a small hole after I decided to change panel locations. He had a coworker join him for a short time to assist since he was new. The co worker was very friendly and knowledgeable. Seth (main installer) went over the system with me and left me his phone number in case I had any questions. So far I am happy with this system and how the technology is advanced. One thing I do hope is at some point the company could support Nest Cameras.

Hi will be canceling services in the future due to no support in Yellowknife. I have a camera not working and cannot get it replaced due to no support in the NWT. Support staff has been great with trying to correct the issues.

Overall, we are happy with the product when it works as it should. Often we have trouble view the cameras remotely. We have updated our routers and modems as recommended, but it did not help. Regularly the cameras will go offline, with no type of notification from the system. We have made phone calls into customer service, but nothing they suggest works. Outside of our issues with the cameras, the system works as it should.

System is sluggish. Mobile app is so slow it feels like its 2004. Camera load slow, doorbell ring is lagged. And by the time the camera feed comes up the person is gone. My internet has 300Mb upload connection so it is not on my end. Open certain doors in house and chime goes off 5 seconds later. Had I not spend so much money on equipment I would probably have already changed providers.

The keypad replacements are completely USELESS!!! This is a deal-breaker, I plan to transfer security service for our home to another company as soon as our commitment is fulfilled. The previous key-pads would light up and clearly indicate when the system was on or off. The replacements DO NOT have any indicator lights as to the system status nor are well lit, so we can't see the buttons at night!!! VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!

I have been with Vivint for several years. Customer service is top notch, them is very respectful and professional. They have great service, great prices. And they are very patient. I would highly recommend them to anyone that is looking for security systems.
