I have only had the system for one day and so far it appears to be awesome. However, I am still waiting some backorder items to be installed. As far as the customer service, the sales person and installation tech were both extremely professional, knowledgeable and courteous. Please keep up the professionalism and courtesy when dealing with customer. Can't be stressed enough... the system will do the rest.

The only thing that I am not happy at all with is that after everything was said and done is that the light on my garage door button doesn't work now and I even had the tech try to fix it while he was here and he just wiggled the wires and said, "Oh well, that doesn't make me happy." Other than that, the tech did an amazing job. But I would really like that fixed.

My backyard camera is always out. It gets fixed then right back down. Everything else works perfectly fine but I’m so frustrated with this camera. A technician came out to fix it and it worked for a couple days. I spend over an hour on the phone with tech support before they actually sent someone out to fix it! I don’t have the time to be on the phone for hours with tech support before they finally send someone out! Also they want to charge a fee when they send someone out. I can understand if the problem is mine or my family's fault but this is an issue with the camera!!! Giving 4 stars on customer service because of the technicians not the tech support phone call!!

I have been without seeing my Front Door Camera Events/Front Door lock system showing for about a year now. Had a Technician come to my home to fix it but was not able to fix the issue. He stated I would have to wait for the next update then it will work and it's still not working. My front door lock is not working when we put the code in it does not take it. I'm very frustrated with this equipment. I pay $110.00 a month for a system that is not even working correctly. I'm really looking at end my account with your company. I even recommended a friend of mine about your company and they became a customer of your company. And this is what I get is issues with your system.

The screen on my control panel had frozen; nothing could be done to impact the security system. I called for help. I was told to unplug the system from power and unplug the battery in the control box in the closet; which I did. That didn't help; the frozen panel remained. Then I was told that I needed to get an electrician out to figure out how the control panel was wired. I said that I wasn't going to do that. I was told that until that was figured out, a service person probably couldn't help. I asked if I turned off all the power to the house and unplugged the battery in the control box, would that help. I was told that should do the trick.
We discontinued the call. I unplugged the battery in the control box; turned off all the power to the house, the frozen screen remained for the 15 following minutes. While reluctant to do so, I removed the control panel screen from the housing. Looking inside, I identified the power wiring and disconnected one of them, cutting off power. Nothing happened. I just happened to notice a very small label next to a connector that said "battery". I removed that connector, from the battery connected to the inside of the control panel screen; and voila. Power was disconnected. I waited a few minutes for it to reset; replaced the connector and the wire I had disconnected. And it worked. Same thing happended a week later. It's been 2-3 weeks since, and no further problems, but there is obviously something wrong with the control panel and screen.

Need to update hardware and software to be compatible with smart home technology, and integrate better with other products, hardware, ie Amazon Alexa. Hardware could be faster to connect and need to be able to have complete control when away from the panel and use app on phone. Right now app is limited and if a change needs to be made and you are away from home, a lot of things can't be done. We actually lost function when panel was upgraded.

The facts: already highest monthly service out. Regular price increases. The product failed during a break in, I have a camera which records the trees blowing in the wind but not someone entering my property and stealing. I was double charged for additional equipment after the break in because what they installed and offered was clearly not sufficent. Took 5 phone calls multiple hours of back and forth with their "customer service" representatives 2 of which agreed I was double charged and would refund my money. Nothing ever happened. I was never returned my money.
75% of the reps on the phone are rude and have no sense of what customer service really means. The original installation was done poorly and had multiple issues which I had to fix, the door lock is still loose and has wrecked my door, I have given up until I replace the door. The installer was friendly, however clearly untrained. Overall I would not recommend Vivint and I don't.

I was told by one employee the alarm went off once then someone else said three times. But the police were only sent out 2 times. Finally getting a hold of someone who resolved the problem in stressful two ordeal. I didn't get my money back from the police because you couldn't write a letter stating it was mistake your part malfunction in the system. However, you credited 60.00 to my account.

We started out very pleased with Vivint but for the last year and a half our system has had several problems. An alarm sensor in the bedroom doesn't work and when I called Vivint they told me they'd send a new battery. I tried the new battery when it arrived and it didn't work so I called again. This time they sent a new sensor and it still didn't work so I requested an actual person to help me and was refused. Instead, they said they would send me another sensor which spoiler alert didn't work.
I finally just got fed up and decided to ignore it. There have been a couple of other things go wrong and each time I have asked for a physical person to help out they have refused except for once. The man who came out was nice, but he couldn't figure the problem out and told me as much then he asked me to wait a month to call for another technician so he didn't get dinged?! We are not renewing our contract when it comes around in October.

So far I am only somewhat satisfied with Vivint. I plan to cancel them once my contract has ended. For one, they are entirely too expensive for the service and I have an old panel that constantly needs rebooting. Vivint will not upgrade my panel. For some, they love it. I'm not impressed.

Our hallway monitor sensor caught something, and alarm was triggered, Vivint called my wife, said police are on the way. NO POLICE WERE EVER CALLED!!! She waited in driveway, still no police. She called the police. No call was ever made, TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!!! If it was possible we would walk away from this pathetic excuse of an alarm system, VIVINT should be embarrassed and ashamed of this total failure!!!?

The system never works! I quit lying because all they have me do is repeat the same steps with the same result! After “doing me a favor” and sending a tech out the system once again quit working after a few hours. Doorbell camera has worked 2-3 weeks out of the almost 2 years. Just plain garbage!!

Recently, we called Vivint to complain about the amount of our monthly bill. We have been on service for over five years and have friends who also use Vivint as their security service, but had substantially more service provisions for the same monthly bill we paid. Because of my call, I was able to receive an additional device installed and also get a significant reduction in monthly cost. We did get good service, just had to complain a little to get it.

Sales rep told me that he would give me 30 days to cancel the system if I didn't like it and that everything would be put back exactly the way it was if we gave them a try. Tech came to install the system and said I really only had 3 days to cancel. I cancelled the next day and the techs came 2 weeks later to pull the system but refused to patch holes in my walls (the lesser of my worries) or reconnect my existing system. For a company knocking door to door (in a community that has signs post for no soliciting, and telling people how much they care about the security of our homes) to leave us less secure than when we started based on a salesman's lies is unacceptable.
When I called the sales rep on the number on his business card he said "You are cancelling your system, I don't know what you want from me". I called Vivint to put in a complaint about the rep but I'm pretty sure if he keeps making sales and making them money that they will do nothing about it. I feel very bad for people that do not cancel their system in the allotted 3 days because they were told they had more time and end up having to deal with this sham of a company for years on end and buy expensive equipment that is useless unless you keep paying a subscription fee to Vivint.

For years things have been working fine. Recently my panel won't stay connected. This is frustrating and I feel like it won't work right until I upgrade. A rep came to my house and offered me an upgrade soon after the problem started. I am not eligible for what he was offering though.

Called as soon as alarm sounded and dispatched police. Felt secure being away from home, knowing our system and the Vivint team were keep our home safe. Very speedy response time to alarms. Feedback on open doors has also been very helpful as well as the cameras we have installed.

We are having issues with pigeons on the roof. I’ve called and complained. No one has called me back about this issue. Also our electric bill combined with your charges is more than what we used to pay without the solar. I’m still not understanding your billing process and no one has returned my phone call about that either your customer service is really really bad.

We had issues with our cameras off line and not being able to fix the issue. We called service, they tried a few things however found the same problems we found. A technician was sent in and the problem was solved. We are very please with the way Vivint handles issues, getting the problems solved in a timely manner.

The install crew was great enough to make me want to be a life long customer. From ensuring my questions were answered to providing contacts and follow up advice, I was completely covered. I didn’t worry about anything during the install and the system is working great. Great quality equipment and the service has been phenomenal. System keeps going offline, front doorbell keeps going offline, now the door lock itself isn't working, it's stutters when it tells us if the doors are opened, hesitates, pauses, all-in-all the system is not doing very well. Very frustrated with I need to contact customer service quite regularly for assistance. Today the alarm malfunctioned on me, very frustrated.

Technician was amazing. Explain everything thing great, was very knowledgeable about the equipment. Would definitely recommend using this company. Cameras show clear, alarm easy to use. Ed was very nice and helpful! He went above and beyond for service, I hope the ongoing service will be the same! I'm not a big fan of the FaceTime acknowledgement part, the mic was having trouble connecting, and during my struggles with the app, my car got towed! The car getting towed was def my fault but I was too engrossed in the acknowledgements I didn't even notice! There was an issue with the door sensor and Ed came back first thing the morning after to fix it, very good service!

Vivint was the worst experience I have ever had as a consumer to this date. Vivint has pushy salespeople and then the installer does a really bad job leaving holes in your walls. 4 years down the road we want to cancel because we are moving into a house that we will not own, and they charged us $1500 to cancel. This was not disclosed at the time we signed up but apparently there is nothing we can do about it. Now another 6 months later I got an email from them stating they were going to start charging us again unless I called them to tell them not to. It is like a nightmare that never ends. Vivint appears to be a security company but they are the only real crooks we have encountered.

Vivint is a very good company. Customer service and technicians do an amazing job keeping you safe as they should and their prices are fair. I would recommend them and done have so to my neighbors and friends and they work with you should you ever a problem with your equipment. We signed on with Vivint a little over 3 years ago. We were repeatedly assured that it was a 3-year contract but have recently discovered that our sales rep blatantly lied to us and we are locked in for 5 years. We have tried to establish contact with this sales rep and his manager. Neither of them are returning our calls.

Since I have had Vivint services I have spent more than 16 hours working and troubling shooting with Vivint technicians. I originally asked for the shortest contact possible with Vivint. Their sales person told me 36 months. I have had multiple panels and cameras. If you had Vivint before the techs leave the old equipment in and don't even install new batteries in the equipment. The door bell is hooked into the existing doorbell and is disconnected. If the panel goes out you are to off a door bell. The sound coming from the panel is not loud enough to actually be heard throughout thr house. One of my previous panels got locked into the armed positions. Needless to say it was a mess getting this fixed. Vivint is prompt to take people's money but their customer service after that is downright terrible. I am looking forward to my contract ending.

This product is very unreliable and the customer support is horrible after the sale. The follow up and fixes waste tons of your time. Several failed logic boards, which result in false alarms. Cumbersome to fix and very long lead times!

The technician did not have the sign to place in the yard. The batteries were low for the door and had to be changed twice. He promised to come back with the yard sign and never followed through. Please send sign as soon as possible.

The experience has not been good, except for the initial installation it has been one problem after another. We have made numerous calls to fix the doorbell and its camera that just suddenly stop working. Now we have our alarm, after a few minutes of being turned off in the morning, randomly start beeping that we need to turn off the alarm. I havent bothered to call it in as the 'repair', as with the doorbell repairs, will be an hour on the phone troubleshooting.

I have been blessed not to have any home intrusion issues thus far. The system is reliable and acts as a deterrent. It helps because in my community everyone around me has some type of security system for their safety.

I am very displeased with the load notifications that I have received when my payment fell behind. It’s invasive, it’s a violation of privacy and a tactic for bill collection that I am sure violates some form of fair credit collecting.

It is good when it works but half the time it does not work or is unreliable, panel has to be frequently rebooted. And rebooting is long laborious process - even after rebooting, it takes a long time for cameras to show up. Thinking about changing providers in spite of the fact that we sunk a lot of money into this.

We have been broken into our truck 2X's & have several people in the front & back yards not being caught on clips. I have contacted Vivint several times and told them how dissatisfied we are. Even had a not so good person sleeping on our front steps not caught. Had gone on holidays and had someone park in our back parking and can't view clips or open them. Very dissatisfied since the day we got the system. Angry customer!!

A customer representative name Ashley and I talked on the phone about setting up a technician to come out to install two new door sensors. She gave a 0880-1000 hrs time frame for today to install the new door sensors. 10:00 came and went, no technician came nor called. I called again and with this another representative we discovered your Ashley either lied to me or she was pulling my leg about today's scheduled appointment. So now I got to wait for another phone call to have another appointment set up. If satisfaction is not met, I will cancel my contract with no penalty on my part. You have failed in my eyes on your end of the contract to provide customer service. This has been the worst service I have had with you people. **. I demand a response now. Give me a good reason not to kill my services with you.

I called multiple times about different problems with my equipment and they didn't document it or send a technician out or anything. When we tried to upgrade equipment they refused to upgrade for us. We also received problems when trying to disconnect services after we told them we wanted to discontinue service when our contract was. Definitely not worth the amount of money we paid every month.

We have issues with the app logging us out. When we called in for to check on our home there was a hold time. When your alarm is going off there is no time to hold. They should answer right away. Customer service is very friendly.

With the system everything is good. With the onslaught of doorbell cameras and security systems now I feel I’m paying too much! Good system but I should of checked around for better pricing. Doorbell camera works good but the other camera is not quite adequate for my place. Probably need another camera but I couldn’t afford the extra price. The equipment is very expensive.

Sneaky “upgrades” renew your contract without explicitly telling you that. We had a new camera installed and it renewed our contract. The service and equipment is super expensive and you can’t get out of it if you’re dissatisfied. Equipment and panel was constantly buggy and we were constantly calling customer service. My advice is get your own cameras or use a different company! Constantly telling friends and family to steer clear!

If I could I would have canceled but I am stuck with this company until my contract is up then I will cancel them and go with another company. I am very disappointed with this company. The only thing they care is to keep you in contract so they can get your money. My contract was expired but apparently I renewed. No signature was ever found on the documents I requested. I try and try to talked to them but again they only want to make sure they get their money!! If I wanted to cancel I needed to pay the remaining of the contract??? How is that gonna help? I am still trap in this contract! Reducing my family's meals to have money to pay them!!!

The sales rep was good for starters but rushed the sale. I wasn't told he was running a credit check and at no time was I informed this was not a monthly contract. My rep rushed through me signing the paperwork and then didn't even give me a copy. After being injured at work and losing a big chunk of my pay, I called Vivint because I couldn't keep up my payments. I was then notified it was a 2 year contract but they would waive 3 months and add it to the end of the billing. That didn't happen so I called again and this time I was told it was a 5 year contract. Vivint can't even keep their story straight.
To make things more difficult, I lost the home I was living in because I could no longer afford my rent and I was homeless but Vivint would not flex one bit. I wanted to return the equipment but they wanted to continue charging me for it. I still have the equipment boxed up and no way to return it and Vivint refuses to work with me. Just a deceitful company with no compassion or human decency.

I love the technology and all the devices. I feel like my home is safe from intruder threats. I don’t like talking to customer service and usually avoid it at all costs. When I do, it usually lasts a few hours with me getting transferred between multiple agents who don’t have proper access to fix my problem. I use Vivint for my rental property but not my residence.

The idea of the system is great but the system itself doesn’t function accurately. I struggle daily to use the doorbell camera and audio as well as the indoor camera and audio. I also don’t get a notification someone is at the door until after they have gone, it’s over 30 seconds before I am notified. I have called the customer services multiple times trying to figure out why but in the end I am stuck with the product until the contract expires. The other products such as the alarm, door lock and garage door opener work great.

I have been very pleased with my Vivint security system. While away from home, my furnace went out and the inside temperature started dropping. Fortunately, the security system alerted me by phone and I was able to get a furnace repairman. Averting the possibility water pipes freezing and preventing major damage.

I talked to a Vivint agent about a month ago asking if my contract was up since they had increased my price slightly and he said no it wasn't up until next September. He offered to lower my rate if I extended my contract for 4 years and gave me a 3 day period to think about it. The next day I was charged a prorated amount with no explanation, when I called no one seemed to know what the charge was for and after close to an hour on the phone they figured out that it was probably because they changed my payment date when they changed the contract.
I told them to put me back on my old contract and put my date back to the 26th of the month because my wife gets paid on the 25th once a month and it works out better for us (they still have not changed my billing date back). We also had a few issues so they set up a service tech to come out to check the system out, but he wasn't able to do anything to really help and gave excuses for why he couldn't change the greeting (which we HATED, it is so harsh the way she says, "Disarm NOW). There is also an extended delay now when we leave the house. I told several folks at Vivint that, "Y'all have until next September to convince me to stay with Vivint, so far y'all are not doing a great job of that."

Our experience has been one problem after another. We called and had service people out time and again for the same problem. I get false alerts all the time saying we left a door open. Nobody seems to know why. My biggest regret is they made us sign a 5 year contract. I'm counting down the days until we can change companies.

My system worked ok for a while but I continue to have issues with it. It fails to record when there’s movement and records when there is no movement. Not consistent. There is no way to change the recording time. It’s set for 20 seconds. Should be recording the entire time there’s movement. Customer service is a joke. They will tell you anything to keep you from canceling the service. My contract should be over now but they insist I extended it and have 2 more years.

Vivint service has been ok so far. The App is the best part. The downside is that the cameras don't work half the time. I have a doorbell camera that doesn't work at all. They couldn't fix it after they installed it. So they gave me cash and basically said sorry. Every time I ask for more or better cameras they want to extend my contract and charge an arm and a leg.

The equipment has never worked very well, with the doorbell camera, indoor camera, and doorbell frequently not working. Getting customer service people on the phone to let a technician come over is painful.... and even then, I have to pay 50 bucks for a tech to come and replace garbage components. I have moved and now I am stuck in a contract. Now my renters are stuck with ** components, and Vivint refuses to turn off services. So now I have to deal with angry tenants. At some point I’ll have to hire someone to go rip all the junk out of my property to ensure my renters stay.

I decided to get a home security system as I had recently gotten divorced and was on my own with two kids. It was pretty easy handling the Vivint system at first, but I’ve had more trouble with it lately. It goes offline easily and the main control pad doesn’t wanna communicate with the other devices that I have. I have a motion detector and another camera. Also, the battery just keeps malfunctioning, even though it’s plugged in. So, it’s weird. And then, it’s hard to get the people out for a repair, and when they’re out here, they just wanna sell upgrade. That bothers me. I just want them to fix it. Other than that, I've had good experience with Vivint's reps. They are very nice, they do a great job and have good professionalism. They are also knowledgeable and willing to be helpful, to get people out there and take care of the matter.
Overall, I am satisfied with Vivint. I like my features. I absolutely love the doorbell camera and how I can talk from my phone. I just wish they had some type of feature on the control panel that when the smoke alarm goes off when you’re cooking, that you could silence the smoke alarm without them having to call. My younger sister, my mom and then two of my closest friends, we all have it, and that is the one thing we all talk about. It could be on the app on the phone so that they didn’t have to call. You could just get on the app and say you're cooking, that there isn't a dangerous fire, and it’s the smoke from the bacon.

Vivint reps canvassed the neighborhood several years ago and I was outside working on my car. One of the gentlemen signed me up to the service. One of my other neighbors already had it and they showed me what the system was capable of doing with his. The gentleman was a very pleasant guy. He was very informative and energetic. It was a positive interaction. He was helpful every step of the way once I signed up with him. He walked me through it.
The techs then came out and did everything. Before Vivint, I had ADT. The techs were able to utilize some of the ADT equipment. It was explained to me that they were compatible with one another, so I didn’t have to have everything installed. There were a few additions we needed based on the new stuff I was having done but some of the window sensors and different things that were already in there, the techs were able to work with. During this time, the sales guy was continually checking in with me.
I quite often had things go down that I would call about. Vivint customer service was very helpful. They would walk me through the difficulties that I was having. My camera would go down. It would not continue to record so they had to reboot it or reset it. Sometimes they had to give me new equipment because that was down. Frequently enough, I was not able to access my videos.
They would troubleshoot my issue as much as they could on the phone. Sometimes, there would be a lot of different things that they would walk me through. It was a little time-consuming. But they were very cooperative. I had no issues with customer service in that sense. But sometimes, it took as much as an hour of me going back and forth to try to resolve an issue that I had which was quite frustrating for me.
There was a time when my wife was never able to lock and unlock the front door remotely with her app. That never got resolved. She just accepted that part of it. It worked at one point then it stopped. We also had to call in for something and have them reboot it. My wife was told to just uninstall the app on the phone then re-install it and that should reset things. But it never worked. As far as the other technical things, I just felt I’d rather not have all this technology because it became more of a headache.
When we moved, we cancelled our Vivint services. We are currently are looking at other possibilities ourselves at the new house. We haven’t moved into the new house yet, but we are not planning on going to the new house with Vivint’s services as of now. We want to shop around ourselves just to see. People should shop around too as there might be some other things.

I got a basic security package from Vivint. The sales rep answered every single question I had. And I had a lot for him. The installation went pretty quick. The guys came in and did all the testing they needed to do. If I had any questions, whatsoever, they pretty much gave us a step-by-step of what they were doing. They were very knowledgeable and very nice. Every time I’ve called, the customer service has been great. I haven’t had long hold times. And the folks that I’ve spoken to either known about the problem before I called and were already in the process of fixing it, or staying on the phone with me and make sure that whatever issue I had was resolved before they hung up. So, kudos to them. I haven’t had a complain about them yet. I recommend Vivint.

When I first called to price out Vivint I already had an alarm system but wanted to switch. The amount quoted to me was way off than what I paid when the install team was done. It is as very frustrating that the price per month went up $20. What they failed to tell me was that my sensors that I have now may not work with their system and I would have to purchase, I thought because I told the individual how many sensors I needed that it was included in the monthly bill. I thought telling the guy how many door and window sensors I had, he could then price it out for me and that was not the case. I am very disappointed in the false advertisement as I was told something over the phone and come to find out it’s not the case. The rep on the phone also said he would cover my last bill with ADT to transfer to them but I don’t know if that will happen.

I am not really pleased with the service that I’m receiving from Vivint. The previous owner of my house had ADT and I picked it up from there. Everything was hardwired and when Vivint came in, they just tied in to what was already here. I then added glass breakage and carbon dioxide sensors to the existing system along with the outside cameras. Vivint came in and took my old panel away and added a new smart home panel. However, everybody is not really on board the technology with this particular system.
Initially, I was having problems with the doorbell camera. I had several technicians come out and each one of them said that the previous technician didn't do this and that. So, he would have to redo everything. When I call their 800 number and talk to the techs on the telephone, they're reading from a book and telling me to go this and that.
One lady became very belligerent. I told her that I'm standing in front of the panel and that there is an orange light that's sorta like a triangle which lets me know that the system is either not fully updated or that there's a problem. She told me that she knows what's going on and so I said "Excuse me. What is your name". She said she didn't have to do that but she would fix the issue for me. So, she disarmed whatever was on the program and the system went off. 30,40 minutes later I'm laying in bed and I hear this beeping noise and come to find out my system is triggered again. One of the technicians came by and tried to fix the problem. For two days, my system was okay but any time I go out the front door or the garage door, my system triggers. That tech came back, put new batteries into the sensors and yet my system would still trigger off.
Also, I told Vivint that I was getting new windows put in 'cause these windows have been here ever since the house has been here. I did not know that the system was tied into the previous wire that was already in the house. Vivint said that they would come in and put the latest wireless sensors that they have. When they did that, I started having problems. My system would trigger off then go back on. It would show where my windows were offline in the front room and in the bedroom.
Now, I never know when my system will go off. Vivint's team is trying to tell me my problem is my Wi-Fi. It's not that because it doesn't mess with my computer. Additionally, my wife has home dialysis which works off the Wi-Fi. I got frustrated and told their team that if the issue is that complicated, they should come and remove the system. I will get something that is simple with which I know my house is secure when I'm gone. With the first system I had, if someone rung the doorbell, I could tell who come up on my porch. Also, if someone rings the doorbell, it would alarm my cellphone. But none of this is taking place now. The system needs to be modified. ‘Cause if that’s the problem that I’m receiving, probably other individuals are receiving the same thing too.

A person going door to door told me about Vivint, and with me having had a couple of break-ins years ago and with the way the neighborhood is, I decided it's time to get a security system. The Vivint sales rep told me everything I wanted and needed to know. Their package offers features that suit my needs and they're very easy to assess. I’m a paper-pencil girl. And I’m going into 60s, so this is great. I thought it was going to be hard, but we got the hang of it now. I love the smart features, too. Everything is like ABC. And I also love the people at Vivint. They're knowledgeable. Twice when I called, they knew what I was trying to say to them right on the spot. They know what they're doing, and I love that. Overall, it is a great experience.

My husband and I already were talking about getting the service, so the timing of the vendor coming was accurate. The only bad thing I can say is that the seller that came said installation would take 1 to 1.5 hrs and it took 6 hits and he did not finish. Has to come back today (we had things to do yesterday).

We've had some issues with our Vivint system where a couple of the glassbreak sensors were going off really easily. We would come through the front door and it would take a while for it to transmit to the panel that it was disarmed. There was one time that the system actually went off because we had just left the house and came right back in. Still, their reps have been good about calling whenever the alarm goes off. They also helped me work through that issue and told me what I needed to do.

Home security services were okay. They wanted 300$ to install new cameras that can be purchased for 50$ on Amazon. When I sold my house and had to cancel, I had to pay over 800$ in order to cancel. They are extremely inflexible and don't try to help out at all even when facing tough situations. If you are in a contract and want to cancel you have to pay... I would avoid this company at all costs.

My wife and I were looking for a reliable security system to protect our new home. We originally decided to go with ADT just because it was well known. Well after setting the appointment and having the technician come out to our home not only was he completely rude to my wife and I both, we found out for what we were paying to start the service we weren’t getting what we expected or wanted to protect our home. My wife’s parents have Vivint in their home so we decided to give them a call and see what they had to offer. I called Vivint and the customer service representative that helped us was beyond helpful and lead us to picking the right package for our home. Not once did he try and upsell us to believe we needed all of these extra gadgets. I told him what I was looking for and he tailored the package just for that.
Then on the install day when the technician came out he took a survey of the home and suggested we get 2 window sensors on top of the package we already ordered. He told us it wouldn’t cost anything extra so we decided to go ahead and add them. He was extremely helpful in explaining the service and how to operate everything. He showed up early, got the install started and was done in just a couple hours. Overall experience with Vivint was great and I cannot wait to recommend the service to friends and family!

Setting up the order was very frustrating at first, the wrong appointment time was booked and took several phone calls to straighten out. We agreed on an installation time and the confirmation I got was for a complete different time. I called to confirm and tell them that’s not what we agreed to only to be informed that they don’t do installs at that specific time that they set. I asked if they could push the appointment to the latest possible time that day but was told that the installation window is for their techs if they are running late and overtime has to be approved for later appointments. As a customer the overtime issue is none of my concern, that time window is meant to accommodate the customer and the company. That process can be significantly improved.
Installation was great and our tech was extremely helpful, polite and patient. Our tech made the previous frustrations with scheduling worth it. Had the tech not been a legitimate 5 star tech we would have cancelled but he made the whole experience worth it and so far we are happy with our system. The equipment is top of the line and worth the expense. The specific tech we had should get a raise or promotion for how well he did, best experience I’ve had with a service tech no matter the industry. The initial request for service, when your calling to set up service needs some serious work and that’s where the 3 star customer service rating comes in, nothing to do with our technician, all about the initial setup.

Techs were great. Install was smooth and seamless. Really easy to talk to as well and a answered our questions without leaving us confused. They left no mess either which was huge. The salesperson lied to me when he took my social it’s was not just for a Credit Check. He never told me the equipment was going to be a loan. Lied about paying for the sensors, lied about how long it will take to install. Your tech was at my house until 10 pm. Was charged more than what he told. I will not recommend your service to anyone.

Somebody had kicked my next-door neighbor's front door in. They had a dog in there and that was the only thing that kept people out. I didn't know that we were having that kind of issue in our subdivision, so that was a concern. When the Vivint guy came up, we invited him in and we sat down and talked. We liked everything that he said and he did a good job in the installation. Also, we could have an app on our phone so that we could monitor what was going on at the house when we were at work. There were so many things that we were pleased with it.
When they came back the second time and they replaced the Sky panel, we were talking to the guy and he had mentioned something about the doorbell cameras. My wife wanted to hear about it and so she thought, "we need this. Let's just go ahead and pay for it and have him add it to the system." We have loved the doorbell camera and it has just been a lifesaver. When we had stuff delivered, we knew when it was there. We had one smoke sensor go bad that they sent me in, and we replaced that, too. We love Vivint, and we've been pleased with it. It is a monitored system and they all have been good. If we didn't get to reset the Sky panel in time, we've got to call. We're just starting our renewal, so the new rate is going to be coming out on the first of September's bill.

The rep from Sam's Club, the salesman who came out to my house and the installer were very professional. The install went good. The installer went over everything step by step. The one thing I didn't like was the Sam's Club rep did not tell me she was running a credit application for financing equipment for your company. When I was a young female in my 20s and was living by myself. I wanted to have the extra reassurance of knowing that even though I was by myself, I wouldn’t be an easy target because I would have a security system. I saw a promotion offering a free Nest thermostat when signing a contract with Vivint. I thought that was really cool and it was a great package.
I had an overall good experience and I was comfortable with everything. Everything was great. There was one time I was out of town and the alarm tripped. I was really freaked out because I was states away and the alarm was going off. Vivint sent the police out and everything was fine. That didn't cost me anything extra too. It was nice to know that the system worked. I was told that maybe a bug or something got really close to one of the sensors and it tripped it. I went on another trip recently and it was good to be able to monitor if someone came to the door which was a nice reassurance. Everything is working fine and I’m glad to have Vivint. I’m glad I saw the package when I did a few years back. I recommended Vivint to a friend and she got that.

I found the features on my Vivint system satisfactory. The only complaint I have was on installation of the door lock. I had a problem with how the locking mechanism would fit, that would cause my door to not fully close on its own. A technician came by and tried to repair it, but pretty much it’s more of a problem with the door frame itself. I’ve only had three encounters with Vivint -- with the person who initially sold me the apparatus as well as the technician who came by to fix the door, and then a young gentleman who was trying to sell me a Vivint system, but realized I already had one. So, we just ended up chatting for about an hour. And I had good interactions. I recommend Vivint. Home security is pretty much a must especially nowadays, and out of the other potential home security systems offered in terms of cost and simplicity, I personally find that the Vivint system works well for me.

After signing up for service I called back a few hours later to add an additional camera. I was transferred a couple of different times to different departments, placed on hold for nearly an hour. I decided to cancel service after that experience. Cancelling service is also an inconvenient procedure.

We enjoyed the way that Vivint was going to integrate our whole system with a camera, and not just the front door, but also our thermostat. The installation of our system went fine. I just don’t like the fact that everything is integrated with the internet. So, if the internet goes off, everything goes off and it takes a while to fix that sort of thing. And if I phone customer service, it really takes long for me to get the system back on. I don’t like that. Then if I have to get someone to fix something, I have to pay $45 for that. I don’t like that idea either. I feel like I’m already paying every month.
We’re also having a problem with one camera on the back. It’s kind of gotten loose and it’s hanging weirdly, but it’s still taking pictures. I called Vivint and the guy told me that I will have to pay $45 for someone to come out. I was standing there wondering and that was more than 45 minutes on the phone with them. They were telling me how I could do it so I don’t have to pay $45. So, I was climbing my chair in the corner with my camera. It was really high, and I was standing there trying to fix the camera. And the more I was turning it, that was when it came loose like that. And I told him, “It’s loose now. It’s hanging.” And he was saying, “No, you can fix it.” I couldn't fix it, so it’s just been hanging there ever since. Also, I just want to double-check my doorbell because it doesn’t work as well as it used to. But other than that, it’s fine. We had no problems.

There was 3 guy who did my install. One guy did the lock on the door and thermostat which he left the mess on the floor another guy cleaned his mess up. My hardwood was scratched up doing the installation and I’m not very pleased with that.

The salesperson who came by our house to discuss the package took way longer than anticipated (1.5 hrs) to describe the package, pricing and paperwork. He asked for flexibility about installation in the future (i.e. upcoming week) then said a technician could be here in 30 min without asking if that would be alright. When we expressed that was not feasible, he became pushy and adamant about having it done now rather than a time that was convenient for us.
Once he finally agreed to let us contact him about a better time frame he told us it would take about an hour to install. This was an underestimate by far. The technician arrived promptly and worked quickly and efficiently but it was easily 2 hours and interrupted the rest of our day. The technician said that it was lucky it took 2 hours because there weren’t many hurdles to installation but that it can definitely be longer. The service and products seem good but delivery on expectations of installation timeframe and respecting the customers time and space are very important. I hope this will be communicated to future salespeople. Thank you!

I’ve had the Vivint system for a couple of years and the doorbell camera hasn’t been working for five months but I pay for the service every month. Someone came door-to-door again after we already had the system and he was checking in to make sure everything was okay. I told them my problems and he said that he would get somebody to call me but I never heard from anybody. I need somebody to come out and fix it.

My experience over the past three years with Vivint has been horrible. I don't like the pricing and their system always keeps going out. I always have to keep resetting it for everything to act right. Sometimes, the camera works but when someone is approaching it, it goes into a sleeping mode. I have to keep turning it on and off to view what's going on. Still, everything else has been fine.

We were moving out to Hawaii, so I wanted my mother to have a security system so that if anything would happen, we’d be able to make sure she was okay. A Vivint sales representative was going around the neighborhood asking if people wanted home security systems. The system doesn't work half of the time and it cost to get somebody to come out and repair it. We didn’t know that in the first place. She is also very disappointed that she can't get out of her contract at one point, not knowing that we are in a full-term contract that isn't gonna let her out or let her change payments like she needed. Other than that, she is happy that the Vivint System is there and that it can inform her if somebody breaks into her house. I would recommend Vivint, but not if you’re no longer gonna be living at the house anymore.

I hate this company and wish I could get out of the contract. If you are smart get Ring! The equipment never works properly and you're treated like it’s your fault and they're doing you a favor by not charging you for sending a technician out to fix what never worked in the first place. Most of the technicians that come out don’t fix the problem - they just try to upsell you on something else! You do not get what you sign up for and you're locked in and don’t get what you pay for. I’m contacting Save Me Steve on Fox 4. If you're looking for peace of mind and safety look somewhere else. All VIVINT wants to do is get paid!

My Vivint is going well. My grandson sold me the product, and I've had good responses from them every time something is come up. I've called the reps a couple of times already. When I had a something go out, I got a new one and had an electrician here who conferred with them. The Vivint technician helped the electrician get the thing installed.

1. VALUE: way overpriced. I paid 3 times the predicted (maybe average) expressed by your Demo lady at Sam’s Club. She wanted to run a credit check based on $1200. What a misrepresentation! 2. The image quality through your cameras is just as bad as Ring and what’s worse the images do not at all appear like those in your demonstrations. Where is the clarity I was shown in your demos? 3. Speed of access is okay to good. 4. Ease of use of your VIVINT App is good. Better than what I have with other alarm service companies.

My Vivint bill is $85 per month. The first year or two was ok with the exception that the front doorbell camera goes off every time a car drives by???? They do a lot of damage to the house during the install - so get that detailed upfront. They are not allowed to wire anything into the house so all systems require a plug. As I said the first two years were ok - Then the problems started... The system often won’t arm remotely, there was one time my alarm was off for days when I was out of town. The alarm will sometimes go off when I unlock the front door using my code. If local law enforcement shows up for a false alarm the city sends you a fine.
Front door lock started to grind and fail. It took something like 7-8? calls with customer service at several hours a piece to get this sorted out. Finally had a supervisor send me a new lock. Free of charge. Repeatedly promised free of charge. Then unbelievably two months later they simply took an unauthorized $395 draw from my account. No notice. No paperwork. They just took it. Many hours of customer service later we find out it’s to cover the cost of the “free” lock. Eventually they went through the transcripts of the calls and refunded my money but it was literally hell to manage the process. The system drains batteries like crazy, the batteries for the motion detector are super expensive.
Tech support is not great and I have just now spent 6 plus hours With them trying to troubleshoot the front doorbell- it’s completely failed. This issue is still outstanding as I need to steel my resolve to launch yet another battery of calls. Despite the system being under warranty they want to send techs in to troubleshoot- but the consumer has to pay for their time. Calls to management to the number they gave me to call if I ever have another problem go unanswered and messages are not replied to. Would I recommend Vivint? No, can’t say I would.

Once we learned how to operate the system it is great. Love the front doorbell camera. We like being able to use phones to arm the system. We have not armed or disarmed the system yet. All in all we like the system.

Outstanding Service today. Detailed and friendly. I am excited to Have this System in our home. I received a fast reply and even from the first communication, Vivint and the team provided me with what I envisioned from the details I had been given by them. The system specs I received in that email was immediately what I was after – needless to say this was already steps ahead of any service I was offered on the Vivint website. Vivint gave me a variety of options when it came to the choice of systems being used, and the materials of the ring and setting itself. Each priced individually so I could work with my budget and ensure the quality of the security system is to an good standard for my purpose. The technician, Josh was helpful and had great customer service skills. Renzo, our salesman was nice but did not focus enough on making sure I realize my credit was going to be pulled. About 6 months ago I bought Vivint and never really checked up on it. Just figured it was working fine. Then one night someone came about 2 am and rang my door bell. I tried to pull up the video but didn’t see anything, so confused I contacted Vivint and they told me my setting needed to be adjusted. I adjusted the settings and let a couple days go by.
I got back on the recording and wanted to see if the video recorded me going to work. All it showed was the truck pulling out of the drive way. So I walked out my front door got into my truck and could see anything. So, once again I called Vivint, and I was told my settings were wrong again. I, but to be safe they wanted to reboot the system to see if that is the problem. So they rebooted it, and I gave another day to settle. Adjusted the settings to why I was told, and figured it was going to be good.
Ironically the next day my neighbor came over to tell me that some high school kids vandalized their cars and my truck. They asked to see if we had a recording of it. When I went to look there wasn’t any recording from Friday night at about 2030 to Saturday morning 0630. I called the company to let them know how unhappy I was with their service, and see if I could the the video recovered to find out who vandalized the vehicles. They said they cannot recover the video of the app and the tablet inside didn’t record it. So, with that I was done with this company and I asked them to remove their equipment and cancel my service.
Vivint told me that they cannot cancel my service until the equipment is paid off. They also said they have to send out a technician for the next six months to try and fix it, and only if the technician states that the equipment cannot be repaired that they will allow me to cancel the deal. So what it really says about Vivint is: The equipment can be replace until it works, but if you still don’t want to do business with them it is too bad. They don’t care if your personal belongings are vandalized and you can’t get video of the one who did it. They will hold you to your contract no matter what the issue is.
I also forgot to add that when I called I spoke to a weekend supervisor and he told more than likely the company won’t do anything about getting the equipment out of my house. Since it didn’t violate any of their policies. I asked him to have his boss call me that following Monday and he said he will pass it along, but I should not expect anyone to call me back.
So I don’t recommend anyone who takes the time to read this to use Vivint. I ended up with thousands of dollars of equipment from a company that doesn’t care about my personal belongings. I just thank God this wasn’t something that harmed my family or neighbors. Materials can be replaced, people cannot, and that isn’t a company I wouldn’t want anyone else to deal with and get ripped off from.

I was very satisfied with both the salesman and the installer. They were both helpful and since I am elderly quite patient with me. Everything was working well and I am happy with the system. I like the panel with its finger swipe instead of having to push buttons. The ringtone is very pleasant also.

They want to drill holes everywhere! Then if you decide you like the service and wish to expand...say add a camera... the prices are horrendous! There is no way to add to your monthly price or change anything. Not to mention if they install something wrong. It's your fault and you have to pay $49 to have them come out to your house to fix THEIR problem. Scam artists are what they are!

I asked the salesperson 3 times if the system used our WiFi. His response was oh no, we run off of cell towers with a back up satellite. Lo & behold the installer comes out & asks for our WiFi info, & yes of course the cameras use our WiFi. He also asked if it was ok for installer to come that evening, he said he was just finishing up at a house close by & it would only take about an hour. He was there until 11 at night & when I asked if he had a busy day, he said, "Oh no ma’am you're my 1st one today". Come to find out the salesperson wanted it installed on that day so that they could start billing me the very next morning. Shady salesperson!!

We were longtime ADT customers before switching to Vivint four years ago. The wireless security, mobile access and doorbell camera were the key deal makers. Strike One: We never received the doorbell camera that was included in our contract. Strike Two: We never the received extra key fobs in lieu of the door lock that was also listed in the contract. Which we decided not to pursue because of...
Strike Three: Reliability is questionable. The system is clearly a great in theory but “buggy”... disconnects randomly and the interior camera access often buffers endlessly when trying to access it via a mobile device. It’s not the gig WiFi. That’s been tested and it still records movement. Summary: There are some great features, but the bad taste from the lack of trustworthiness with delivering the agreed upon products and the unreliable service has left me jaded. I’m basically waiting for the contract to end so I can explore other options that value the customer and are more reliable and transparent.

Called with multiple concerns. Notably doorbell notification taking 10 to 90 minutes to be received on app. While in the same house and on the same wifi... Lack of garage door control. New door opener was NOT on list of problem openers. Excessive cost compared to other, local, services. Finding out the panel software was close to a year old. Assured by customer service that replying to the resulting email with notes about whether the software update worked would be reponded to. There has been no response. Cannot in good conscience recommend this service.

I have had my service less than 2 years. And have had too many issues. Just in the last two weeks 3 tech support has come to my home. Only for us to still have issues! It keeps saying offline or the panel go out. The alert wouldn’t stop going off and now it doesn’t alert! This is the worst alert system I have had. Oh and charge you a fee to come check something out. That’s not my fault. Every tech blames the tech before of something every time. When my contract on over, they can have it! I’m so done with VIVINT.

I heard about Vivint through a family member. I got the system and it's been okay. I’ve had a few problems, but not anything super, super major and most of their reps have done pretty good. The system is fairly easy to use. There are still some features I still don't understand. But overall I like Vivint.

I've been with Vivint for over 10 years and had the doorbell and panel updated. Usually, the purchasing process is not too difficult and I find everybody to be pretty helpful whenever I have to call. Moreover, I’ve never had trouble getting ahold of anybody. Most places I call, I have to wait for a long time, but with Vivint, I usually get somebody quickly, which is good.
Everything was good with the installation team and they cleaned up after themselves. They took the time to go through the new panel and show me where things were and how it functioned. We had issues with our doorbell camera though. It ended up turning black and white and they had to replace it. They also added in a drive so it records continuously. They also took the time to go through that and show us how to rewind it. I find that everything is easy to use and it’s nice to have the app. Sometimes, it has some glitches, but then I’d see it update in the middle of the night and then everything is fine again. Everything runs by computers these days so you gotta expect for there to be little glitches. I'd recommend Vivint and a friend of mine just hooked up under my referral.

I got a camera installed on the outside and the lady in customer loyalty department waived the camera fee and tech fee. Well Vivint ended up charging me for the tech fee in which made my account overdraft. After going back and forth with them they keep denying to make it right. I am an unsatisfied customer. I feel they caused my overdraft charges. They should ensure to make this right. Let me be late on my bill or not pay it at all. They would call me wanting their money. Now my system isn’t working. I am about to say, "screw Vivint and go rob ADT!" Signed not a happy customer.

The cameras record whenever they want to. We have had the cameras for 1 year now and they still don't record when someone comes up to the door or walks through our yard. The alarm goes off at night at 3 and 4 am to faulty signals or no signals at all. The company won't even come out to fix their faulty product. They want you to fix it yourself, or they will charge you to send someone out to fix their faulty products. I wish I never signed a contract with them. It's not worth it, at all.

15 minutes after my equipment was installed one of the cameras went down and would not work even after troubleshooting it. I contacted the technicians and they stated they would be out today to fix it. It is 1030pm and I have yet to see anyone out to fix the NEWLY installed system. You only get one chance for a first impression and so far this has been a bad one. If this shows how we get taken care of. I don’t think we will continue our service with Vivint company.

Sam and Trevor were incredible! Sam has a great pitch on why vivint is the way to go for home security. Sam was also very knowledgeable, friendly, and to the point. He wanted to know what home security features were important to me and tailored my package to what I needed most. Trevor was very punctual with installing our system. He also installed the same day we signed up which was increidble. It definitely bet the 3 weeks we spent going through AT&T for internet!! Chandler was one of the most friendly, knowledgeable, and professional person I’ve ever had to work with. He was fantastic in explaining the new system and showing us how to work it! He did a fantastic job! I will definitely be recommending Vivint to anyone who is looking for a new security system. Hopefully they will get Chandler for the installation! Installation was fast and the installer explained clearly how to use the panel and iPhone application. The system seems easy to use and advanced compare to our old security system. It has more features compare to our old security system.
