The Vivint salesman knocked on my door and he was very personable. I liked him. He did an excellent job. The installation was easy and painless. We got the basic system features but Vivint didn't have it set up where we could do the thermostatic control. That was one thing that I wanted but couldn’t do it, not any fault of Vivint, but because of my gas and electric utility. The equipment has performed well and we only had a couple of problems. One time, we had to have someone come out to adjust the camera, it was timely, and no problems after that.

I’ve been with the company as long as it has been Vivint, which is over 10 years and I like that if the alarm goes off and I’m not home, I can be alerted of what’s happening. The installation went smoothly and about three years ago, the system was upgraded. I feel good about its quality. The panel that I had was upgraded, and that allowed me to have the app on my phone.

Vivint had a little salesman going from door-to-door and that's what got me. The installer was quick and very knowledgeable. He knew exactly what to do and he didn't take a lot of time in getting it done. He was pretty efficient. I like the camera system. I like being able to see if someone is at the door, and I like when that alarm goes off, first I can see who it is and I can communicate. It's pretty good so far.

With Vivint, I was protected. However, when I went to church one Sunday, although everything looked like it was going well, some papers went missing. It had to be somebody in the family because no innocent person would come in here, get something sealed and not bother with anything else. A person came into the house and when the clown came in here, the alarm went off and he couldn’t put the number in. Then, he told the lady who answered the phone at Vivint that we were all a close-knit family and gave my daughter-in-law's and grandson's name. This lady took time to have a conversation with the fool in here. Why didn't she call the police? I know somebody came in here because I missed what I missed and I hate it so bad. I talked to a lady at VIvint and asked her how she would feel if she was paying somebody $58 a month to protect her house and they let a fool come in.
But I love Vivint and I was very satisfied with them up to that point. That pissed me off. My stuff is gone and sometimes, I wanna cry. I just couldn’t handle it. I got so upset that my son said that I ought to sue Vivint, but there's nothing I can do because I broke my hip. There was also a letter from Vivint, Wheeler Rd. It says that they recently received a signal notification that my panel was not communicating with their monitoring station and as a result, my home wasn't being protected. And it told me to call a number, but to please disregard the letter if I already had. What hurts me so bad is, for years and years, I have paid this company to monitor the house and when I kept on paying, the payments were bank-drafted out of the little account that I had.

I loved the idea of a security system. A few of my neighbors have the system and recommended it too. So I had it installed but have been having issues with it not working since it was installed. My husband is ready to get rid of the system.

I just bought a new house and the main panel was not working. Vivint had a technician out the same day we called. He repaired the panel, helped to set up our account and taught us how to use system. He was patient, thorough and neat.

The sales guy who came to sell me on Vivint was great, but the first installer was terrible. He didn't connect my garage. And so, another guy had to come out and worked on it for probably two hours, and another guy came out, out of his way, and it took him about 10 minutes to get it. The features of the system are great but whenever I'm trying to go back on a previous date to check out footage, it takes forever. But with regards to clarity, it's very clear. It's been a good partnership with Vivint. I had just bought a new home, so having a home security system kinda made sense. And I was used to having some type of security system already, so I wanted to go with something that's gonna protect my wife.

A man came by selling Vivint and I bought the basic package which included the backdoor monitor, bedroom door monitor and that of the front door. Then, there’s a smoke alarm in the two-hallway monitors. They took a while to get it all in and they were here up to kinda late at night doing it. The reps came one time, replaced the main unit in it and upgraded it at no cost to me because they were having issues with the other one. So, they replaced it with a better one and it has been pretty good. Every now and then, it would go off and send a false alarm but usually they would contact me. But I don’t ever use the stuff because I have dogs in the house all the time, so I don’t even set it t all.
It has been a pain in the butt because it would go off for no reason and we haven't had nothing set, and the beeping and the noise was bugging my dog. My wife would call me up and tell me that I gotta get home and shut the thing off because I couldn’t get it shut off sometimes. I even had to call Vivint for them to shut it off for me. But the main problem with that was the old brain that was in it malfunctioned, but we haven't had many issues with the new one yet. I’ve been with Vivint for a pretty good while and I was gonna have it shut off and it was coming due and I said that if they were gonna lower the amount, we would try it for a while longer. They just lowered my monthly bill down for me so I just stayed with the company.

Technician was prompt, courteous but explanatory about about what he was doing snapping pictures with the tablet. With this day in age it's good to show and tell the person what they're doing in case one is afraid to ask. I tend to ask questions.

Our neighbor referred us to our technician and we couldn’t be happier!!! He was so friendly and very accommodating. We were previously with a different company that keeps raising our price and would nickel and dime us. This is definitely NOT the case with Vivint. Very modern and user friendly equipment!!

The technician was polite, courteous and explained the points of the system. He asked for permission to use a different door. He was patient with someone who is not tech savvy. He answered our questions. He demonstrated the touch screen and pointed out important features.

I was pleased and satisfied with Vivint reps that came to our door. They seem to be honest and trustworthy. I was thinking about getting an alarm system then, and it was the right knock on the door. The installation team was good and efficient. They were in and out, did a good job and left the place tidy. We also did a couple of dry runs to make sure I understood how the system worked. I also purchased video cameras, but the quality was not good. It wasn't a valuable piece because it would go offline all the time and would end up throwing my internet off of my home computer because something would go offline, so I had to reset it all the time. That was doing that at least once a month. And I had to have several things disconnected because they kept giving me false alarms. I had Vivint's system for five years but I'm not with them anymore. I went to Fluent that was quite cheaper for a little bit more service.

I'm happy with the service that I've gotten from Vivint. I have door alarms, window alarms, and outside cameras. I like the system. It makes things a little more secure. Most of the things that I've run into are primarily technical glitches, but the system is electronic and dependent on satellite, so it goes with the program. Their customer service was very helpful and I got things taken care of quickly. I have recommended Vivint. It's a good system.

I had this alarm system installed over two years ago. When I had it installed, I was told there was a two year commitment by a salesman named Tanner. There was a team of Vivint sellers and installers all over my neighborhood at the same time and many people got the systems installed during this time. My wife and I purchased the equipment on a payment plan, which we were encouraged to do for up to 60 months. Since this was separate from the alarm monitoring service it didn't seem like an issue and the equipment is a bit expensive. Approximate 2.5 months ago, I sold that house and I left the equipment installed in the house as part of the deal. The new owners decided they wanted to use a different company, so I'm not sure what they did with the Vivint equipment left behind. I called in at the time to cancel the service, and was told that I was no longer in my contract, so it would be done.
I checked my bank statement a couple of days ago to see I was still being charge for monitoring ($49 a month) even though the equipment is no longer hooked up or functional. I understood that I had to pay off the equipment, but was led to believe that was completely separate from anything else. Today when I called again to cancel the monitoring, I was told that I was under a 60 month (5 Year) commitment to Vivint and still in a contract with them because I had not paid off the equipment which is only a 60 month installment plan.
I explained to the borderline rude customer service person that the system was non functional and no longer in the house which I had sold over two months ago. He told me it didn't matter and that I should have taken the equipment out and had it installed in my new house, which I did not want to do since I had nothing but issues with it the time I had it. I believe I was certainly deceived about this and now, I will be charged $50 a month to monitor nothing until I pay off the equipment. This business practice is a betrayal of trust and very misleading upfront. This is one company I will never consider doing business with again.

In a world where customer service has gone by the wayside, I can personally tell you I was blown out of the water by the quality of customer service that ViVint has and the quality of the install. Our install tech Malik was the best “in home guy” we have had (from any level) in our home in the last 10 years. The sales team was HONEST, and nothing changed from the original quote from day 1. That in itself was so rare, no nonsense, no after close up sale, no surprises, only blue chip solid service.
The equipment is awesome!!! The cameras are crystal clear, the sound the mic’s pick up is astounding and the explanation of how it all works was easy to understand for both me and my wife. Too bad that exact customer service on an old school level is surprising now, but if you are looking for a “talk the talk and walk the walk” experience with really cool security features ; look no further. Again a big shout out to Malik (in Orlando), that guy is a rockstar and I may call him later to have him come work with us! 5 out of 5 stars!!!

I liked Vivint's technology. There is the ability to check it out via phone and everything. But there are a lot of unfulfilled promises. There was a lot of stuff that I was told about the system that was not right and not true. The biggest thing was with the battery. Whenever we had a hurricane come through and we weren’t at home, our system would already be dead and we would call up Vivint. We were told that the batteries were there for a couple of hours as backup and not two days. But I was initially told that the backup battery for the system would last for three days.
I've spoken with credible technicians that are both on the sales side, customer service and the actual installation technician. There was one girl that did the majority of the installation who was far from professional. She drilled holes in the wrong places of my doorframe. She said those were just little holes and that they were not a big deal. But it was my house and that was a big deal. And whenever she ran the wires in the attic to one of my cameras, she didn’t bother to wrap them along with the rafters and formers up there. She just threw the bundle up over like boxes of Christmas ornaments. We didn’t find that out until a few days later when I went up there to get stuff. With the front door, she didn’t chisel everything out properly and we were having problems with it or cracks with the door from her work.
We had a lot of various serious problems. I finally got ahold of the regional manager. I told that this could be fixed today or tomorrow. Their people can come and leave all of their equipment in my house and put it back later. I also told the regional manager about the girl who did the installation and he told me not to worry. It would be taken care of and that he would send out his best technician. The stuff that was messed up was corrected and I appreciated that. The customer service in getting it fixed was immediate.
I also have the garage door monitor which sometimes randomly stops working and that isn't very helpful. But I like being able to look at and check out my house. We live down in Florida so whenever a hurricane comes here and we evacuate, we can check on our house. Overall, we're happy with the system. It's good. They are still some hiccups but I know that it's still a relatively new technology. I have recommended Vivint to friends. I told them that if they are looking at alarms and cameras, they shouldn't push Vivint out. They should at least look and see what they have once. It's a technology that other companies don’t have.

I wish I never have gotten my Vivint system. The doorbell dies all the time and the thermostat chews up the batteries all the time. The setting options are funny, and when the power goes out, it doesn’t work. Then my camera on the front, on the doorbell, you can’t even see who the people are, especially at night. It’s really terrible. Even the installation was crappy. They put a hole right through my kitchen cabinet and the drill bit is still stuck in there. They couldn’t get it out, and I can’t get it out either. Still, I use the system everyday. I lock my house, and when company comes, I can give them a code and they can get in and out. Some things about it are nice, but the value of what the monthly payment is, it’s totally not worth it.

The service tech contacted us (Miguel **) and explained how the system worked, how the equipment was paid for and helped get the instillation quickly. Even explained how the cancellation worked with our old system. Gave a tutorial to me and was out within 45 min. Happy with everything. Have recommended this a friend.

Love the set up of cameras & doorbell. We had to be patient because we didn't have enough megs of wifi for our system and all the devices we run in our home so there was a bit of lag and delay. When we upgraded our wifi it ran much better. Love the fact that I can see who approaches my home night & day, especially when I'm away. Our service technician Cleveland was awesome & answered all our questions & concerns. Love the look of the cameras & doorbell. Very satisfied with his professionalism.

We pay Vivint at least $50 every month for everything, which is a lot of money. Their reps were very knowledgeable and were selling the product. We have the doorbell camera, but it’s hard to see what it's trying to show. But it could be partly our fault. We can also open the garage door and our front door with our phone. Plus, we have Alexa. I don’t think we pay for that anymore, but it still works.

Everything has been going okay with Vivint, but we keep coming across some little recurrent problems that we’ve tried to address. For example, the battery in our panel has died three times in the last year and a half so it’s constantly sending up a warning saying that the battery is not functional. And we got the panel replaced. Also, for close to a year, on and off, the door lock hasn’t been syncing with the panel. And for almost or seven months now, it has not synced at all and I can’t get it to sync. Our interactions with Vivint have been fine most of the time. I’ve called over the phone enough times now that I feel I could do what they tell me to do on my own most of the time to see if that works. But the last few times, it hasn’t really remedied the situation. They're always willing to send somebody out, but it’s never quite that simple.

The technician installed my Vivint security system. He was very thorough when going over the paperwork. He did a great job of installing my equipment which consisted of the doorbell camera, fire alarm, thermostat and keyless entry. He explained about the control panel, and showed me how it worked. He cleaned up the mess he made. He got my input on which was the best color to use for the keypad. The keypad looks great. This is my 2nd Vivint system. It is a great system.

My experience with Vivint has been great. I've been with them for a long time. At the time, a friend of mine had ADT and he wasn’t using his service because ADT wanted to charge him more than $100 a month so I went with Vivint. Right now, my package includes security, doorbell, and in-home camera. The service has been great, but in my contract, they didn’t tell me that I was gonna be paying $60 a month after all my equipment has been paid off. When my wife called Vivint, they wanted to do another contract and run my credit. A friend of mine just got Vivint's service middle of this year and paid off all of her equipment, and her monitoring is $25 a month now. As for me, I’m still paying 60.99 a month, which was what I’ve been paying for the full term of my contract but I’m out of my contract now.

My grandmother and grandfather had Vivint's service. When I renovated my home, I called the company and they easily came out and helped me out. It was a challenge at the beginning because my grandfather had passed away and my grandmother was diagnosed with dementia around the same time. I was trying to transfer the services. There was kind of a mix-up but Vivint ended up clearing it out. Initially, they were running some special. I was able to get the little thing that you can talk to and she calls and answers questions.
I ended up having to pay for it by the time they ended up sorting everything out as if I purchased it when it was actually supposed to be a gift. But I just went on. Other than that, I had good service. When I had a past experience, they called and were pretty quick about everything. Features-wise, everything is pretty good too. I have access on my cellphone and I'm able to look up on my computer if I need to. And the billing comes out of my account.

I am not sure how the Vivint system is getting a high rating at all. My current system came with the house and really no more than a little over a year old. The video quality in all cameras are 780p at best, if there was an event and I needed video footage you could not make out details since the footage is so blurry. I had RING Doorbell before this and had must better results from the camera. It is not the internet bandwidth it's the cameras.
The only reason I have this system running is for the security features this is why I gave it 2 stars at best. The system has a hard time updating and after having some concerns and getting support on the phone, that took a while too, they said, "Oh it looks like your system is behind on a critical update." So this was a critical update that was meant to address my issues and this could not be pushed out to my system which is clearly connect to their network. High debating the need of this system and going with someone else and selling off this current system since all the overprice system pieces are paid off.

Everything is going great with Vivint, so far. I work for The Chickasaw Nation and we build custom homes for our citizens and employees, and some of them had used Vivint so that’s what I went with. The installation went great and the gentleman that installed the system was great too. I've had them for over a year now. I got the alarms for the door and window, and would probably purchase cameras in the future.

I liked the features that Vivint had and their monthly price. I chose them over other providers and the package I got includes a doorbell camera, indoor and outdoor cameras, motion sensors, door sensors, and garage door sensors. However, the number of cameras you can have is limited and I would like to have an option to add more. One guy installed the system for me and he was fine. Thus far, my interactions with their reps have usually been very good.

We had been thinking about doing home security and Vivint reps showed up at our door. They were good. We got a panel and added another camera so we have four cameras. We then got some of those sensors for the windows. The installation went well but afterward, we had periods of time where the cameras would not be online. We had a technician in at least two times since then to check things out. But we're still kind of unclear as to why the cameras go out every once in a while. We also had some issues with the panel.
We were away on vacation a week before last and we got an alert which was kind of alarming. It said that the alarm had gone off. A Vivint representative said that the police wouldn't come out because we weren't registered. When we got home, it turned out one of the batteries in one of the sensors had gone out and that triggered the alarm. I didn't realize that that was an issue. My husband had gone and changed all the batteries. The features of our system are pretty good and the service is decent. We actually turned in some film to the police. We had a neighbor's car get broken into and we had it on camera. But just like any camera, you kinda wish the images were clearer.

Rep Chris was honest and broke down where all the money goes. I was very happy to leave ADT and I'm excited that I can now add smart home products without having to call (and pay) an ADT rep to unlock my system. For more than 10 years, we've had Vivint as our home security system provider. Their rep came over to speak about the product and we worked from there. We got the door alarm system, and everything went great when we had it first installed. However, we’ve been having a lot of problems lately. We upgraded one time and after the upgrade, they decided not to send the technician to the house. I had to do it myself with everything. I had to deal with customer service on the phone. They sent me sensors, but unfortunately, I wasn’t happy with a couple of sensors on the doors. They sent me new ones, but I think the door isn't the problem. I find that maybe it's the panel. But they don’t agree. They reset the remote, but from time to time, I still have one of the doors telling me that it’s not open.

Around last year, I got Vivint's service package that included fire, carbon monoxide, glass break, door, plus the control panel. I would've liked to have two doorbells, but they only allow me to have one. The company kinda had issues with one kid at installation, but they were young and a little inexperienced, other than one guy. Also, they could have a faster response time with the phone. At any rate, I got very good quality video recording and the clarity of the camera is fine. Mine is a little above average because it picks up the cars going back and forth on the street. I’ve tried to narrow it down so it doesn’t do that, but it still picks them up. It picks the headlights up reflecting off my siding. It's just that the recording only goes for 20 seconds, and I wish it was a little longer. Other than that, the Vivint team is very quick at responding if an alarm goes off. They are very good about that.

Very impressed! My installers weren’t even gone yet before I put it on Facebook! I invited my whole neighborhood to get Vivint! Daniel and Brock were very professional and courteous. They called to let me know when they would be at my house and they were there at that time. Some guy came knocking on my door and he convinced me to do get Vivint. He was friendly but he was also a little pushy. I'm glad I did it Vivint though. I've had it for five years and I renewed a couple of weeks ago for another five years. It's pretty good and I'm happy with it. I have the door, camera, and doorbell features. The Vivint sales guy that stopped by my house was knowledgeable, and since Vivint was convenient at the time, I went with them instead of other companies. It was good when I dealt with the guy and he got me signed up with what I wanted. They had another gentleman come out later to do the installation and that went okay as well. The installers were quick and got it done in a hurry. They also seemed like they’ve done quite a few of them. I got the doorbell camera, the glass and a couple of fire alarms. I’ve had those for several years now and have had a couple of issues. The repair guy that came out the last few times was nice and knowledgeable. All in all, their service has been good, and I haven’t had many issues with the system other than changing the batteries.

I decided to switch from a different security provider based on the honesty and integrity and clarity which Devon brought to the table, Mason was the installer; very professional, took his time make sure I understood how everything worked, linked my thermostat up to the security system so that when I leave the house the temperature changes so that I can save money and not be heating or cooling an empty home. Both the Vivint sales team and installation team were good, and I've been satisfied with my experience with the company. I've been with them for around five years, and when my contract ended. They came out to check on the system. I got window monitors, break detectors, cameras and one of those keypad things for the door. I would like to get a doorbell camera though.

We had one of Vivint's salespersons come by the house and it went well. Then the installers did a quick job. I got the doorbell camera, inside camera, and alarm system. However, the installers went through the system so quick we didn’t even know what we were doing. The second time, when we had to have something replaced, the guy went through it with us, took his time and showed us how to use our stuff.

The sales rep and installers were very nice, so this isn't about them. But the install was not what I would call professional and I was not made aware that in order to have this system I would have wires running along my baseboards and plugged into my walls. I will be canceling within my 3 day right and caution anyone considering to ask questions about install and how plugged in systems will be visible in your home. The rep left the bad patch job for me to sand and complete.

I was promised 6 months free service by the sales manager during my install, because the convert over system that I purchased was not installed. Per the installation agent, my 18 zone alarm would not work with the Vivint 3 zone change over. Since other than paying for something I never received, I could not provide docs (apparently Vivint doesn’t keep copies of sales or install work orders) because I misplaced my copy.
Now on cancel of service, people should be informed during start of services that the phone call to start, is replaced by a 30 day "processing" duration that doesn’t start until Vivint confirms written request for cancellation, even when the home is sold and the new owner opens their own Vivint account for the same address. So here I am, house sold and I am living in a hotel since August 15th, Vivint notified via phone to cancel service August 7th for the 15. Again notified August 28th, then in writing August 28 and Vivint confirmed received 29 August and here it is 10 September and my account is still "pending" cancellation advice being actually cancelled or closed.
At this point I can see no reason to recommend or use this service to anyone. I am truly sorry I allowed myself to be sold this company service when there are so many other great customer focused security companies available. I look forward to getting confirmation email the account is closed or cancelled but have been informed Vivint doesn’t provide that service either. So on October 1, 2019 I will have to reach out to Vivint one last time to show I waited 30 days and the was able or not to verify my account closed or cancelled.

I have not been very satisfied with Vivint and I have made it very well-known because they do not follow up. My husband had passed away. I sent the death certificate to them several times. And I had moved, so my unit was transferred over. They didn't hook everything up that they were supposed to. I was told that all the pieces had batteries replaced. Well, the motion detector kept going off in the middle of the night. The monitoring people were trying to call my husband’s phone, and I’m like, “He’s deceased.” And it’s going on three years. My alarm went off again two weeks ago, and I got online and had a live chat because I got a message stating that they can’t reach me. I asked what number were they calling. I’m primary, and I only have one phone number. That’s when I found out my husband was still being listed. I told them to remove his name and that I have given them the death certificate. But they won’t.
Also, I couldn't get a permit number from them. Colorado Springs PD sent me a letter stating that the permit number for the old address does not transfer to the new one. I have been told by Vivint that they don’t know what the police were talking about. I moved into this house on the 25th of October last year, and just now, I finally got all of that taken care of from the police station. That would mean it was no good to have an alarm system if the police are not gonna respond. I wouldn’t recommend Vivint at all. In fact, I am seriously looking into getting a different carrier because I don’t trust them anymore. I even emailed the president of the company and never heard back.

I chose Vivint based on other people that I knew had them and their experiences. But the installation was a giant pain. The tech could not get my doorbell to come online. It was a 12-hour process from start to finish to get the entire system installed. I was then informed that since it kept disconnecting, I might have a faulty doorbell because they had just gotten a batch. The tech kinda got it to work and he said that if there were any other issues, I should call back and they would fix it. This was at the end of 12 hours.
The tech tried and he attempted to hardwire it in to where the old doorbell was. Everything worked fine for about a couple of hours. But then it disconnected again! I figured I watched what the guy did then so I tried calling. I got a nice lady on the phone and we ended up getting the thing to work. It worked sporadically for a couple of months. Finally, about two or three months ago, it stopped working altogether. I didn't have a doorbell. At the same time, one of my outdoor backyard cameras got water in it somehow so it also stopped working. Somebody else came to fix it. He got the outdoor camera to work which had since stopped again. It is offline now and that is annoying.
Also, I informed the doorbell guy who came to fix it to please bring a new doorbell because the one I have might be faulty. In order to get that one hardwired in, he said we might have to drill a hole through the molding and plug it in. But I preferred not to do that and ended up having to tell him how to fix it. I said that because the circuit was connecting here, there was something wrong with the circuit in the old doorbell box which was on a wall in my home. It went from the tower to the old doorbell box then to the actual doorbell. He opened up the old doorbell box after I took the molding off and he started fiddling around with it. He tightened all of the things in the box to tighten the connection in the circuit. Lo and behold, it worked again.
I've had Vivint for about a year now. I like my panels. If my cameras would work efficiently, I would like them too. The last person that I called to set up somebody coming out was very lovely and wonderful. She was very personable and very cheery. She seemed like she was actually trying to help and it was not like my phone call was an inconvenience. She realized that I had been walked through all of the self-trying to fix things several times and went ahead and pushed me through to the next step of somebody actually coming out.
There is a lack of information on the Vivint website about how to fix things. You can find a link where it's like "Click here to work on your doorbell!" But when you click it, the page doesn't exist. Anothing thing with Vivint is the fact that there was a random charge that showed up. I got an email stating that after such and such month, my bill would be going up, which was immediately after my last when the guy came to fix the doorbell. Since the back cameras are still not working and I just at this point don't have the energy to call anybody and have them come fix it again, I haven't seen the actual charge show up yet. But we are not willing to pay the extra randomness that they have mentioned in the email.
Overall, I kind of wish I had just gone without a security system. I did not grow up with one so it wasn't necessarily something I personally needed to have. It was more so my husband because he used to work nights but not anymore. Also, we don't necessarily live in an area where right now the system is necessary. It's not that it won't be necessary tomorrow, but I don't wanna pay any more than $50 a month. Vivint is great for watching my dogs run around the backyard when the cameras work. I enjoyed that a lot seeing that they are indeed in the yard in the nighttime. But I definitely feel as though their technicians could use a little extra electrical training.

I've had Vivint security on my doors for around six years, and I have been more than satisfied with the service. If anything goes off accidentally, I get calls instantly and the reps are very nice and professional. They are also knowledgeable, very personable and easy to talk to. I've only had one problem, which I called them about, and they were on it right away. They were awesome and helped me out. And I was not charged because I bought one of their system. When the guy came out to fix it, he updated my whole system without an extra charge.

It hasn’t happened lately but sometimes, when people would come into my house, the camera wouldn’t pick them up. Also, when I open the garage door, I don’t know if it’s a problem with the panel or what, but it blanks out. It’s like it’s stuttering and it’s the only door that that happens. Maybe because I open it the most. There’s a problem with the audio when I open that door and I don’t know why. But the service is worth it because Vivint’s is comparable to other services. It’s just the equipment I’m still financing that’s taking forever. I don’t know if that equipment was worth it. But other than that, the service is fine.

I have been a customer for several years now and after my contract expired my bill went up and I didn't know why after calling I was informed that to renew my contract I would have to buy new equipment and pay install fees. Is this how you treat all long time customers!! I'm not sure if I want to continue with giving you my business!!!

My daughter had a Vivint system put into her house first and then she recommended that I do it. Vivint salesmen have been at Home Improvement Shows, and then I stopped over and had my computer worked on last spring and they had the system there. I said, “Well, do you service or whatever?” He said, “No, we just sell them.” They're located in Bozeman, a 100 and some miles away, and if I would've known that, I probably would not have had the system installed. I have security, fire, if the power goes out, because I live out in the country. I've been paying the bill every month which is an automatic deduction from my bank account. However, I haven't been able to use the system for two years.
The servicemen that installed it were clean and neat. It worked fine for the first year and a half. And then a little magnetic plug in my front door went missing and I have not been able to get a salesman or anybody to answer me and come and replace it. The techs drilled the hole too big. That little button popped out all the time from day one, and now it's missing. I would like to get that replaced because I can't use the system at all. I have security cameras for my property because I have show dogs and I let them out in the yard to run and stuff and we have to keep track of them. They're $2,000 and $3,000 worth of dogs. I have dogs in and out of the house and the button might have stuck to a dog’s collar and was gone. Other than that, I like the system. I would recommend Vivint with the exception that you can't get service.

I've been with Vivint for about 10 years, and their reps have all been good. However, there were a couple of times that I was going to look somewhere else because I had issues with them. One issue is that, if I need a service call, sometimes it takes days on end because we’re so far away from their nearest serviceman or service department. There was once where we had an issue just before we left for Florida and they couldn’t do anything about it because we’re a long way away from their service people. And I wasn’t very happy about that. It’s not like having a local alarm service company that you could call and they’re here the next day or that day if it’s an emergency.
Also, we have a doorbell camera that has been a pain in the butt since the day we got it. I’ve made many phone calls, and eventually, they would get here and work on it. It works for a minute or while they’re here, and then they go and it stops working. They came again and replaced it, but it doesn’t work. It never worked properly.

Have not received hard copies of agreement in mail as requested and promised. Door bell does not work every time it is rung. Did not receive confirmation from phone call in email that was requested last week. Have not received the keyfob that is to go with system.

Software and installation. Tech came that night. Could not finish job. Wanted him to come next day. Stated would be in another state. There is software problems. Still on 30 day trial. I don't need issues like this for security equipment. Either it is going to work or not. I am thinking about cancellation. Good ideal but software not so reliable.

Chad was quick to diagnose the problem and fix it. He was very friendly and competent. We hope Chad comes when we need help again. When he couldn't get anyone at the company to answer his call for a half hour, he showed me features I didn't know I had.

I've been with Vivint for five years. I have the smoke and carbon monoxide detector, as well as the front door lock. I got those thinking we would be better off and a little bit protected. I had a good experience with the installation team. Vivint's people just replaced our home smoke detector and everything is going good now.

We had issues with Vivint's cameras a few times. We've also had some issues with the new thermostat disconnecting and the Alexa has been a problem at certain points. But no one has offered anything if the Google is working better. I wanna know what they might wanna do because we need things to kinda stay steady. It took a long time to even get direct connection to the internet which was great finally because the field manager came out, and he took care of it. So, they should have just done that when they saw the problems, and they never did. Otherwise, things have been okay. The Glance panel is constantly blinking. With power it's there, but it would fluctuate where it works and doesn't work.
I'm on that special consumer relations thing. We were testing equipment and nobody offered anything to me, so nobody has done anything to follow up on that or anything else. We had a pretty rough experience first getting started. I got things meant being situated but things could be a little better. Overall, the alarm itself seems to be working okay. I just don't have the time to fight tooth and nail for things. Otherwise, overall, it's great.

Was advised by the specialist that when selling my home I could have the new guys take over the system and payments. Buyers agreed to this. Found out after the sale that that was not possible. Bank wanted full payment for all equipment and this had to happen before Vivint can stop “monitoring”. Did not mention a movement team or that we had to send in a form to cancel. Absolutely pathetic.

The tech forgot one sensor in the bedroom and didn't have the angled bracket for the doorbell. Everything else went very well. Other than that we are satisfied with the work that was done. I'm happy with everything else so far.

This company is very deceitful. The people that come to your door are nice and all, but they trick you into buying the product with deceptive terminology. Then when you call customer support, they are nice and work with you, but then you find out that all they did was lie. I have called this company many times. I ended up stuck with the large loan that they tricked me into signing. Now I will be paying that off for the next 60 months. Horrible company!! One of the most expensive companies!! Do not do it. Sure, they have nice equipment, but they don't care about your satisfaction. All they care about is tricking you into giving them money!! Don't do it!

More transparency is suggested for your door to door representatives. You have a competitive product comparable to ADT. Give the consumer full disclosure so that a decision could be made on what's best for that individual. Consumers appreciate honesty. Vivint appears to be a good choice, represent as such, without trying to hide the 60-month contract that will be revealed before the finalization of the paperwork. I think I made a good choice to upgrade to Vivint, from ADT. I'm trusting that Vivint has great CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Be nice if Vivint offered free "ring" camera like most other security companies are. Saw Vivint commercial showing all the items you recieve for free if you choose Vivint. Hooray for the new screw the customers for years. Even made complaint how tech came out. Fixed issue but left a way less than straight line cover up. Panel states front door battery low...really? After trying 4 new ones panel still states low battery...

Updated on 09/14/2019: As expected and stated in my last review, my 5th Vivint technician came out yesterday and NOTHING was resolved. He was there to change my panel for a newer model which he didnt have in his inventory, thus, I am now forced to call AGAIN and set up YET ANOTHER appointment (6th appointment) for the dame issue. The sad part is that not only did Vivint waste my time but they also wasted my technicians time who had another appointment after me.
Original Review: There are so many issues and instances that I cannot name just one but not unlike the other reviews, I experiences multiple issues with this service and with very little resolution. The following are the main concerns: system freezes, system keeps disconnecting from internet, sensors significantly delayed, cameras continue to go offline, no software updates unless requested, system doesn’t alarm in the house but still dispatches police, incorrect contact information for myself even though I keep updating it.
So, with the aforementioned being said, I still, not only pay my bill on time but I pay in advance. I have been a top-notch customer and still no real resolution or compensation for my troubles. My most recent issues have spanned across two months with my next technician (September 13th) being my 5th appointment for the SAME EXACT ISSUE. When I requested compensation for these two months in which services HAS NOT BEEN PROVIDED AT 100%, I was only given one month. Oh and how about this, during my last appointment, it was determined that my sensors need to be replaced because they were inoperable. The customer service representative wanted me to sign another 5 year contract (current rate is $101 per month, thus $6k for 5 years) for 5 new sensors. Her name was Amy from ANI department and she was horrid.
I am about to remove my credit card information and not pay Vivint for their services at all. The bill will go into collections and I will put forth great effort to dispute it because I HAVE NOT RECEIVED the service as per the letter of the contract. DO NOT Purchase Vivint because it’s that company has bad service and from what I can tell, limited moral scruples.

Vivint came walking around my street and they told me that, with their system, I can lock and unlock my door from my phone and I can check what’s going on in my front yard. That’s one thing I needed so I ended up purchasing from them. The installation went well and the team was very knowledgeable and courteous. They showed up on time too and did a demo on how to work the product. And when I have problems, the reps are there and they tell me what to do. Everything is good. Vivint is great but they got competition. So, they’re the ones that are just as good.

We purchased a thermostat, carbon monoxide detector, 1 security camera and secured 1 window. The window and side door alert work perfectly fine. The security camera and thermostat are very problematic. We have to unplug and replug the security camera a few times a week as it randomly goes offline. Two technicians have been by but unable to resolve the issue. The thermostat sometimes does not respond to controls from our phones but has gotten better over time. The security camera not working is my biggest concern. If we're not home and the camera goes offline, we can't unplug the power source to get it working obviously.

Wi-fi issues. I called reporting that I could not get a connection, I have spent a lot of time on the phone trying to resolve the issue, then they told me they would send out another router that was never sent out until I made another call and spoke with a supervisor. I have had several issues with this system and have to go through a process to get it resolved.

I don't know how in the world this company has ANY positive reviews. I've called them several times and the customer service is abysmal. When I've told them about my problems before, the lady on the phone said "Oh well, that's just how it is." And hung up on me. Firstly, when you aren't home, and someone rings your doorbell, the app immediately shows you the live feed so you can see who is at your door and communicate with them. Amazing in theory. Terrible in practice. I get notified right away when someone rings my doorbell, but the live feed takes MINUTES to pop up. By that time, the visitor is already leaving or has left. What good is this?! I literally never get the video feed to pop up in time. I have to keep closing the app and opening it back up or it will never show the video. So greeting guests when I'm not home is pretty much a no-go. Yeah, they offer the option, but does it work? No.
Secondly, when my system was installed, the wall plugs they needed weren't available. If you don't have an outlet available for the Sky Panel right next to your door, then you can forget about it being anywhere near it. Mine is literally installed down a long hallway by the bedrooms. So that also causes it to not communicate with the front door properly all the time. Occasionally it will work, but most of the time, it claims it cannot connect.
The installer also had to drill a hole through the wall from outside to the inside, for the doorbell to be plugged into a wall outlet. THIS LOOKS HORRIBLE! I now have a hole next to my front door with a wire coming in and leading over to the outlet. It looks absolutely hilarious. The installer put a plastic sleeve over the wire, so it's even more noticeable now and he didn't even have what he needed and had to go down the road to Lowe's to pick up some more plastic. He didn't adhere it to the wall in any way, so it bows out away from it. I'm telling you, this is ridiculous.
Third, I've tried to cancel my service due to all the hassle and the huge monthly charge and they refuse every time. They say I first have to pay off my equipment. What in the world was the huge seven hundred and some dollar charge at the beginning for? Your great service and installment? Great, so now I'm stuck until they decide I've paid what they THINK their equipment is worth. I've even offered to give it all back. It's in pristine condition. They refuse.
I think with all the hassle I've been through that they could at least let me cancel. I just want to be done with them. They are terrible to deal with and the equipment is faulty. Oh, by the way, the glass break sensor was installed on the ceiling right between the kitchen and living room. Heaven help you if you drop a fork. Guess what? SCREAMING ALARM SYSTEM. A WINDOW HAS BEEN BROKEN. No, no, Vivint. I just dropped my eating utensil... Seriously. Whomever reads this and doesn't have Vivint and are looking for a good home security system, please please PLEASE look somewhere else. Do not get Vivint.

The technician (no fault of his own) had lots of trouble with tablet connecting to their internet. This slowed down paperwork and was time consuming. This caused the total time to take longer than needed. Installation went quickly. Overall, the installation went well.

I wanted to address my frustration to you. At our old house, I was very pleased. Our new house, we can't get internet due to being in the country. So Vivint support is very poor. I wanted help to resolve the issue and Vivint will not let us out of our contract. It is very wrong to make someone pay for four years without being happy. Will know next time to stay away from Vivint. And no longer spread good news about our service. Very unhappy customer.

This customer signed a five year security contract in 2016. From the start there were problems with the equipment and the tech people that installed the equipment (due to lack of training one technician admitted). For example, all the batteries in the detectors died within a month of installation. Weird, did they install old batteries I asked the agent on the phone? The batteries should last a year. The camera in the doorbell did not work consistently until May/June 2019. Thanks to finally getting a tech that had some experience. Many many phone calls and service calls between 2016 and 2019.
This customer has spent an incredible amount of time since 2016 on the phone being gaslighted. Oh, and the ONLY way to get a call from anyone that can make a decision at Vivint is to give failing scores on the SURVEY. Truly, no joke. Rates have dropped, but, wait for it, to get the rate adjusted ONE MUST EXTEND THE CONTRACT or give back some of the equipment, which by the way, I paid for....Right Jordan in “Customer Loyalty”? Now why would one extend a contract with a company that cannot support the current contract successfully? I made a very expensive and disappointing mistake. Hope this helps someone make a better decision.

The doorbell camera and doorbell ring are spotty with working even after multiple calls to customer service and updates. If you open your door with the keypad lock without making a purposefully delay the panel locks down...sounds the alarm and won't give you a key code access to shut it off, even though the code was keyed in at the door panel. We were refused to have a tech come out and see our panel unless we paid for the visit because it could be "Fixed remotely", which it never really has. Frustrating.

We have had Vivint services with 3 cameras for about 2 years. We haven’t been particularly impressed with them because the cameras haven’t always functioned and the door camera with ability to talk to the person at the door when you’re not bailable hasn’t functioned properly most of the time we have needed it. I am calling the support number on the panel several times and the last straw was just recently when the person on the phone was telling me to open the box up to work on it and the panel tipped off the wall. I called to cancel the next day and their customer loyalty team is working to keep us as customers. We will see how it goes since they came out and installed a new box.

The box wasn't responding to channel changes and our show wasn't being shown. I called with the problem and it was taken care of right away and it was explained to me what the problem had been. Very courteous and knowledgable.

It seems as if my service goes offline every month. I had a serious problem months ago and customer service had me do literally everything they could think of so they didn't have to send a technician out. The service now is better (offline once a month) than it was a few months ago.

We’ve had equipment issues, billing issues, customer service issues and the list goes on. The company seems to be great at finding reasons not to help instead of finding solutions. Payments were misapplied to monthly service instead of equipment. Later on they tried to collect again for the equipment after failing to bill my credit card. I troubleshoot my equipment myself and after being unsuccessful over a period of 6 months, I’m told I should’ve been more annoying and scheduled service instead of troubleshooting myself. That way there would have been a record of my previous issues. Maybe a customer who pays his bill every month without fail should be given the benefit of the doubt and given warranty replacements. Maybe people in customer service should know their role and get a manager to call you back if you ask for it. Horrible. Horrible. Horrible.

The customer care rep for the issue I had was great. But I had a tech scheduled to bring equipment I paid for he never showed up. I paid for a portable command center and a caron monoxide detector and received nothing. I will probably cancel service, I'm not happy. You will probably do nothing with this info. I was told that your customer service was terrible and I did not listen.

I am very pleased with the installation and the system. My technicians were knowledgeable and patient and explained everything to me. Installation was free and all of their products come with a lifetime warranty. I would gladly recommend Vivint to my friends.

Mr. ** installed my home security system in about two hrs. Also a doorbell. He was very clean about his work, very nice and polite, I did not have a mess to clean up after he left. I am very pleased with the installation. Customer service was very helpful the next day when the battery was low and I did not know what to do.

We have been out of this home for over a year now and, unlike we were told when we signed up for the service, we have not been able to cease services not the cost thereof. This is not what I would consider to be a fair practice a business would impose on customers. They contend they are there/here to serve. Quite self serving and despite attempts to have the services discontinued, you continue to charge us full price with zero services being provided. Looks like it's time to employ an attorney. Shameful.

I requested a new lawn Vivint sign and received it in a timely manner. However, I didn't received a sign with a solar light which would have been a better sign for my lawn. The lighted sign would definitely keep all bad guys away. Vivint should definitely only send lighted signs.

When I tried to chat for customer support it was very slow and they were no help. Then I tried calling and the person barely understood English and had no idea how to help me. Thank God the issues fixed itself the next day as if this would have been something major. I would have been in big trouble. Plus no one ever called and the recall for the light sensors as they stated they would. Not happy.

Any time we have had questions or support we have always been satisfied with the results. We recently had a false alarm that was caused by an entry before the alarm was turned off. We were contacted by your office and we went through the process of eliminating an unauthorized entry through name recognition and password authorization. Very professional!

Our cameras only worked for a couple months they sent a technician out who blamed it on our WiFi but said he would have "R&D" try to figure out the problem and they would get back with us. When we call they want us to try and fix the problems ourselves over the phone. There is no follow-up and total disregard for current customers.

This bill we just paid is the 4th or 5th time we have to address this issue. We sent in response to your letter several months back about you adding a tax to bill. I told them no to paying. We opted out. You said ok but still we get billed. No more. What you are doing is against Mo. Communication department. Possible could lead to a class action suit. Stop billing us for this for our whole contract or let us out of the contract.

Vivint's security system and monitoring/support service is fine, but there are some huge fraudulent drawbacks. First, we first responded to an email solicitation and TV ad both when we first contacted Vivint. The ad/alleged-promotion offered us a 'free security system' so they could put their advertising sign in our yard, and have us pay for the monitoring service. Instead, we had to pay full list price for all components, and Vivint's price was more than 200% more than the same components you can buy in Lowe's or Home Depot. ADD TO THAT, they financed us out a huge interest rate, when the salesperson that signed me up assured me that it would be a low interest rate, a rate in fact that he would not tell me exactly what it was. So, for a 'free security system," we wound up paying about 300% more than needed. I'm still in a fight with Citizens' One Bank, who does the underwriting for their financed systems. It is total scam.
I can say their customer service and monitoring service, and the base system itself work just fine. BUT, again, the first time we needed to download video for vandals in our front yard, the stupid app deleted the clips we needed when we attempted to download them. A few clips have downloaded successfully since, but using the same procedure, the clips we needed for a court case, could not be obtained. They told us they'd be backed up on our home control unit, and they were not, plus, there was no way to download them directly from the unit even if the video was still there. Add to this, our sales rep promised us all video was backed up centrally for 30 days at a time. We found out from customer service, they are not backed up anywhere else, just temporarily stored on the home wall unit, that when the app fails like it did for us, the video is gone and cannot be accessed.
Also, any power outages will mess up your volume and sensor settings all so you have to constantly reset many settings for the system. Lastly, their motion and window breakage sensors use proprietary batteries that are shaped like nothing you have ever seen. When these go out, you can't use conventional batteries from a store, you have to buy more overpriced stuff from Vivint direct, and wait for them to come in. How much fun is that? The automatic smart front door locks take regular batteries, but forget about the other sensor units.
With the complete scam of Vivint system financing through Citizen One bank, which I strongly do not recommend, and the complete lack of fault-free security video access and storage, I cannot recommend Vivint with any sort of integrity in my words. The system did impress us for a few months, but with each new smartphone download of their app, more and more features kept malfunctioning. The one time we needed video for a criminal case, their damn app deleted the clips vital to our case, when it was supposed to be downloading them to our laptop, and there was no video backup at all, as we were promised there would. And, unlike the marketing email we responded to, no part of the system was free, their system actually costs much more than anyone else's!

The service does work but they have issues they need to work out. The control pad battery blew up and disarmed the system but never sent me a message saying disarmed. This is just one of the many issues I have we had with them.

I love Vivint service in our primary home so when I had a terrible experience trying to have our security system repaired in our AZ home I finally got so frustrated I cancelled their service on the spot and called Vivint! Not only were they there the next day to install but the technician, Michael was outstanding - which is what I’ve become accustomed to with Vivint service. I can’t say enough positive things about your company!

Customer Service at Vivint is terrible. My last call was for more devices which were on sale. I received no response. I contacted Vivint Customer Service by phone and email. The answer was “The sale is over, tough luck!” At a later date a supervisor contacted me and informed me she would look into the complaint I had submitted. Never heard from anyone. I like the equipment, the installers are great, customer service has always been a problem anytime we contacted them. If we find a company with equipment as good as Vivint’s we will drop Vivint and move to a more trustworthy company.

Our salesman Spencer was amazing, he came to the house and went over everything with us. He had us pick what we wanted and explained why we needed and didn’t need certain items. Took us a few days to decide if we wanted to do it, and we did and couldn’t be happier. I called him Saturday to let him know we were ready to do it, and Alex our technician was at the house 2 hours later installing. Which he did a great job, keeping everything clean and explaining what he was setting up and involving us in the whole process. I will definitely be recommending to all my friends/family.

I have had issues with Vivint several times a year. Some of the customer service know what they are doing and the rest of them are don't. I pay to much for equipment. I would have canceled several times but the company keeps me in a contract. When things work the Vivint works is ok. I would never recommend the company to anybody. I have been angry many times but nobody cares.

We have not been able to use our cameras in over a year. Spent hours with customer service that has never helped. Keep telling us we can send someone out for $50 but still cannot guarantee we can fix it. Camera works on tablet mounted in hallway but not on our phones.

The key pad lock I had installed, the installer never gave me a set of keys to the lock. When I notified customer service they told me I would have to pay for a new set of keys. I cant wait to change companies once my contract is up.

It is a great service but I should have actually researched the company before I signed up. I wanted to cancel the service that wasn’t under contract but I couldn’t because I have only paid about 100 on a 1000 dollar balance in one year. Have had Vivint home security for a few years now and the product and the service are tops in my book. Best decision I ever made to install Vivint home security systems, with the doorbell camera as well as the standalone camera in the back yard. We have had several power outages and every time I call Vivint they are very professional and they are courteous and helpful and they fix the problem with you on the phone in a few minutes. They wont hang up till you are satisfied and back up and running, now that’s service to brag about.

We upgraded our panel last year and have had issues with it and now our entire system ever since. Our sky panel "loses connection with our wifi" constantly and our thermostat consistently disconnects from the sky panel. We are now having issues with all of our cameras losing connection because the panel is also disconnected. We have changed all of the batteries and have spent multiple hours on the phone with tech support troubleshooting and making sure we "reboot" the panel over and over again. We try and call to have a tech come out but that is going to cost us a service fee so that's why we call support but I feel like all we are doing is going in circles. We have had Vivint for several years now and we have not had any issues until we upgraded our panel.

I was contacted by salesman about an upgrade. I usually don't respond well to sales calls but the salesman was very nice. I agreed to the upgrade, even though it would change my control panel to an ugly iPad looking thing, and even agreed to add a camera. I was then told I would be contacted by an installer. It has been over three months and I have not been contacted except by more salesmen calling to sell me the same upgrade I had already agreed too. Absolutely no follow through. Not a good way to do business. Customer Service has always been great and I love my alarm but this has left me a little annoyed.

Vivint has to be the worst customer service company in the US. When I have trouble with my system and make appointment the rep text me and changes the date where I can’t be here. And then tells me that’s the way it’s gonna be. Can’t wait til my contract is up cause I will rip this crap hole system out of my house and be glad to repair all damages that I create while I do it.

I replaced my front door lock with a keyless entry lock that after 2 weeks & 2 techs still isn’t working! Needless to say I am extremely disappointed in the service with the techs. I will be calling {again} to have someone come out to REPLACE the lock with a new one!

The cameras don't work worth a darn. They don't pick up grown people walking around but they pick up every leaf blowing. I have had the tech come out twice and they still don't work. If I was not under a contract I would have it all pulled out!

I have had so many issues with Vivint from day one. Cameras are always going out. Sensors don’t work. Doorbell doesn’t work. False alarms always going off. When I call customer service, I always get the runaround. I have had my system replaced once. I have called to complain multiple times and my situation is the same. Very disappointed with Vivint. I would NOT recommend this service to anyone.

Marginal equipment and poor customer service. Disappointed with a once good company. Many issues, but company making little effort to fix. When service personnel do come, they are late and indicate they don't care. Last maintenance person was lazy. Phone customer service has slipped from when we first started with company.

Loss of Fox Midwest channel and charges. Needed help with glass sensor issue. Unable to get correct battery at time of call to support. Obtained a battery a few days later and was able to install as directed by tech support. Was told Wal-mart had batteries however unable to ever find one. Obtained battery at Ellis battery store.

Recently I attended a destination wedding quite a distance from home. I set my system and left with all indications on my panel showing everything was locked and ok to leave. This was on Monday. Friday I was informed that my patio door was unlocked???? What??? Vivint asked if I wanted the police called to check it out. I said yes...of course! The police responded and checked my house gaining entry through my unlocked patio door?! Everything was fine and they left. My concern is that my system allowed me to lock up and leave only to inform me 4 days later after I was gone that a door had been left unlocked. Hmmm...

The technician had some difficulties with the install due to the lack of an existing wired doorbell and the wiring of our current security system. He tried several different things and continued to worked at it until completed to my satisfaction. Excellent service.

I wish I never answered the door when the Vivint salesman was going door to door. I gave the kid a shot and it’s been downhill since. The system hardly ever work. They’ll send techs out that can’t fix the problem. Vivint cameras our panel will stop working and Vivint will charge you for a problem with their equipment. For some reason the auto draft for the bill is always working though. It’s a terrible service and I can’t wait until my contract is up!

Panel needed a reset and after several attempts, the representative gave me option of paying for a service call. When I told him that he could correct the problem from his station and that the problem obviously was on the Vivint issue and that I was not going to pay for a service call. He asked me to hold and suddenly the problem was solved. I feel that Vivint should at the very least service their equipment annually without a charge.

I’ve With this company since 2009. I’ve never had a problem in the past but, now I am. They have been multiple times to work on my door lock and it still not working properly. The gentleman came out to change a sensor in my front door and the rest of the sensors have gone out. The treatment that I received when I called and was as if they did not want to be bothered. My money is taking out of my account to pay for the alarm system every month.
Unfortunately the system has not worked properly in about six months. If you go back in but I no longer put the alarm on because it doesn’t work the front door chime is the only time that works after that to work are the windows garage door. My contractor I am currently searching for a new alarm company. I never thought I would be in this situation with the company that started out so small that the people from Colorado themselves to put our systems together and put them in our homes. I’m truly disappointed.

We have the home security with window sensors. We are very happy with our system and have never had a problem! The only time that we have spoken to customer support was when were setting it up. And that’s the whole point, we feel secure with our system!

Lock wasn't installed tightly and as time wore on, became more loose. Sort of spins now. I live in a seniors community, so it's difficult to maneuver tools to correct this. Vivint says I have to pay for them to correct their mistake.

Vivint service is as good as your internet connection. I wish I would have researched pricing prior to signing a contract for equipment. Monitoring is 5 stars as the monitoring works 100% of the time. The only thing I didn’t like is the way the product is sold. Sales team portion is the reason for the 3 star. Salesperson was great and had a good personality. Even came and checked into the house. Half of the reason I signed my contract were regarding services that didn’t end up being offered by Vivint anyway. I should have read my contract fully.

Our service was great until we added cameras. They were not placed very well so we don't have good views of certain area. The mobile app does not work all the time to view cameras. Unexpected updates on panel tends to mess up setting. Battery after electric goes out only lasts a couple hours and feel that our the "BAD GUYS" know this, rendering us unprotected.

We pay over 60 dollars a month for a service that hardly works. It's one thing after one thing. The door bell doesn't work. It freezes. The panel always freezes. And they put you on a contract that they don't even mention. Plus they charge you for everything. If anything breaks they charge you to send someone out and that doesn't include the the charge for the item that broke. Can't wait to cancel after the contract.

The installer did not leave behind any of the boxes the new equipment came in. When asked him why we don’t leave boxes behind. The quality of camera is not great. Want to cancel service in 3 business days because of equipment. Also what does Vivint monitor for 54.99 a month? Just motion? Not enough.

Tore my house up when installing. Lied about how long we would have to pay for equipment. Still to this day it does not work properly. Customer service never sent the new parts to fix our problems. Servise tech in our area will not call me back. Spent literally 30+ hour on the phone trying to fix our problems. Would never tell anyone to us Vivint.

The tech was outstanding, very knowledgeable and took the time to teach an old man how to feel comfortable with using your product. I would and will tell everyone I know about Vivint. Very user-friendly. Everyone should have one of these. I feel safer than I have in years.

The camera on the doorbell has stopped working multiple times and cannot be fixed until called in. Rebooting doesn't work for either the panel, internet or camera. Because the camera does not work, it does not record images it video. I also cannot see it from the app.

Very sneaky salesmanship. Did not fully explain the contract locked into a 5 year contract. The salesman told us after the first 2 years we can get out which is not the case. Any time I contact the call center for assistance the same poor level of service all the agents seem to have an attitude like they hate their job and dealing with the customers. Terrible customer service with sneaky sales techniques. Be AWARE.

CJ was very helpful and was great at communicating the security system. He also made time to ensure I was comfortable with the monthly payment. He answered all the questions I had regarding the system and helped me understand the way the app worked and walked me through it.

I've spoke with two agents over the past 6 weeks about getting a replacement VIVINT sign with solar light. I was told both times that one was being sent. I have not yet received. I'm fine with the service provided other than this issue.

Every time I call for customer support the service is excellent. The initial agreement was for $59.99 a month for five years but three years into the contract Vivint decided to arbitrarily raise my rate. Since the contract was an agreement between two parties for a set monthly cost, Vivint should not have the ability to raise my rate anymore than I would have the ability to lower it. Also, when I was away an inside motion detector was falsely activated (house was empty, no pets) causing the local police department to show up and charging me with a false alarm.
