    Guys came on door to door cold call. Danny was respectful and informative. I had been researching security systems and was curious about them so I listened. They had a good deal so I bought in with a fairly large system. Installer was there 10 minutes after the sales guys were done. Installer was good and did a good job. Had to schedule for an additional install time to finish since it was getting late.

    Good customer service. Tech was not push about product. Tech was very courteous and friendly. System was demonstrated to both myself and husband. So far the experience has been good. The system seem to be very user friendly. The security panel is easy to read and can be accessed from smart phone. I like that if other people are given access such as grown kids. They can also be removed.

    I received my installation yesterday. The technician somehow connected the control panel to my living room light switch so now if I turn off the switch the control panel loses AC power. I called customer service, and they had no current solution nor offered an apology - instead offered a technician to come out ONE week later. Terrible service + definitely not the company I expected. On top of the tech messing up, he left a thumb-sized hole in my wall. Definitely DO NOT recommend this company to anyone. Now I am stuck with the equipment + terrible service.

    We purchased a home that has the equipment in it already. We now own equipment that is useless without a paid subscription. So we reached out to find out how to use the system. I spoke to a young lady on June 1st who said she was giving me a referral code ** that would give me a $200 credit and will allow me to try the service for 4 months (you can pull the call and hear her telling me this). She then transferred me to Coby ** who told me that “she didn't know what she was talking about”, “she is in another department” and she gave me a code that was for equipment only and I had all the equipment the company offered. I then said I'm really just trying to use my doorbell that did not work properly. He said if I didn't get the subscription service I would need to go buy another doorbell.

    I gave the phone to my husband because I felt he was rude. His attitude seemed to change when he was on the phone with my husband. My husband agreed to pay $107.41 to have someone come out make the system work and that we would have a trial period of 30 days. My husband handed me the phone to finish the conversation because he had another call. Coby then told me that someone would be out on June 2nd at 11 am to activate the system. I received a text message and email saying the same thing.

    On June 2nd we were sitting around the house waiting for someone to show up. At 12pm I called the number on the text message and was told that the appointment was 11 mountain-time which was 1 pm my time. So we waited. Then at 2 pm our time, I received a call from Eric who said that Coby told him to call me cause I needed Tech help. I then explained to him that we expected someone to come to our home and connect our system. He was like, "Oh not sure but I maybe I will be able to come out Friday". I then explained to him that my husband I would be out of town on Friday. I gave my husband the phone to continue speaking to Eric cause I was done with it. Eric then told my husband he could schedule it for Friday, June 5th. My husband asked that he see about having someone come sooner. Eric said he would try.

    My husband called back at 5 pm and spoke to Zach to see if Eric was able to find something sooner than Friday. Zach said no, and as soon as my husband hung up with Zach we received a text message with an appointment for 5 June between 12 pm to 4 pm. My husband and I are out of town so my sister was at the house today, when the Nick showed up and the first thing he wanted to talk about was money and a contract. My sister told him that we had already given Coby money and the system should be just getting set-up.

    The next thing he said was we had 3 days to cancel or we would be locked into a 12 month contract. My sister called my husband and my husband had to explain everything to Nick and inform him that Coby gave us a 30 day trial. Then he wanted a video and audio recording after we were very clear that we would not be in town and I asked on June 2nd would there be any problem with my sister being there in our place and I was told no because we were not buying any new equipment just getting the system we have activated.

    This has been a frustrating experience. I work within customer service and know that if you want to keep a customer you have to treat them like you appreciate them. This interaction has not made me feel like your company cares about anything but money. In this day and age with businesses closed or shutting down you should make your customers feel like you value them. In order to feel like your service is worth anything you should considered offering me a 90 day trial cause right we are considering shutting it off in 30 days or less.

    Sales guy said he would be back to explain exactly how it worked. Installer said he would be back next day to drop and install DVR. Still sitting on china cabinet because has not been installed. Poor installer had no water was supposed to be on my location between 6:30 pm and 7:30 pm. Didn’t show up until 8:30 pm. I had to work the next day at 3:00 am. And he didn’t get done until 10:30 pm. Overworked Vivint needs to higher more employees to be able to keep up with the customers demands.

    After coming to my home the day prior, I decided to speak with a rep because I was interested in Vivint. Both individuals I encountered during the process, Kate and Drew, were pleasant; however there were too many technical issues. During signup, Kate had to call Support because her system timed out and it wiped out all of my information. Support saw it on their end and I completed the process with them. She then had to call back because it had me paying the almost $3,000 in equipment upfront; she was told it was resolved and was given approval to proceed.

    An install appointment was available immediately, so Drew came out and set everything up. Upon completion of installation we encountered the upfront equipment fee again and had to call Support again; at which time he was informed I was denied financing. At this point my options were to pay the almost $3,000 equipment fee or have the equipment removed from my home- neither of which was an option. Kate had to come back out and try to resolve the issue, while Drew waited to see if he had to remove the equipment. The issue was escalated to corporate and resolved after a 6-hour process. Both Kate and Drew were really nice, and I don’t fault them at all. I was a bit frustrated with the ordeal; however, I am enjoying the equipment and happy I made the investment!

    I have had my system for over 3 1/2 years. Called to upgrade. No problems. After upgraded system was installed started having issues with outdoor cameras. Went round and round with tech support to check this, reset this, reboot this, do software upgrade but nothing worked. Asked for appointment to have tech come to house after fighting issue for 2 weeks and cameras being inoperable, they tell me nothing available for 3 weeks. I complained then they sent me to escalation department, lady there makes me an appointment for next morning a Saturday at 8am.

    I waited all day. No calls and no tech showed up. Call on Sunday, get the run around and told call back on Monday. So I call. They apologize, get me scheduled for the coming Thursday between 4-8pm. On Wednesday night at 8pm I get an email that stated our appointment is canceled due to tech having breakdown with his vehicle and for me to call and reschedule appointment. On hold for over 2 hours waiting for them to schedule me then they tell me nothing for 3 weeks. I would not recommend this company at all. Customer service is horrible, they only care about getting new customers and if you have an issue too bad – we will get to you when we get to you.

    I’m very pleased with the equipment. I was surprised my installation was so late, from 9:00 pm-12:30am. My tech worked quickly which I appreciated, but I could tell he was tired. I’m flexible but I think that’s pretty late. I was ready to retire for the night by 10:30pm. I’ve had to troubleshoot my wireless connection several times so I will have to keep an eye on that. Also, my automated door lock keeps alerting that the bolt is not secure when I lock it, each time. It appears fully extended and the door will not open so I’m not sure what the problem is. Lastly, I noticed I have 4 window sticks on my statement of equipment but none were installed on my windows. I will call to check on what happened there.

    I made a few changes to the original equipment before installation and thought I had removed the window security which is why I didn’t ask the tech before he left. Since it is on the equipment summary, I’ll need to have that looked into. There was no yard sign left either. Overall, I love immediate peace of mind, the app, the front door camera clarity and the options for chimes. I just have a few items that need to be addressed.

    I have only had the Vivint system installed for 24 hours but so far it seems pretty good other than a few installation issues. The equipment seems like it’s good quality and both the panel and the application is smooth and easy to use. Here are a few of the problems I had. After the install I had a garage door sensor cover loose error. I used the Vivint troubleshooting guide to figure out that the tilt sensor backing plate was upside down and was not pressing on the internal spring. So I removed the plate and set it right side up. Then none of my cameras were detecting movement, deterring or sending notifications. After chatting with Vivint over half an hour it was fixed with a software update.

    The doorbell camera was also not detecting, deterring or notifying me so I had to update the panel software as well. Overall, I like the system so far but the fact I had so many issues right from the start that should have been identified and remedied by the salesman or installation technician is disappointing. Hopefully this feedback helps.

    On the plus side: Salesman was very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. Very thorough in explaining and demonstrating the system as well as addressing our issues and concerns. The installation was well done by professional installers who are good at their job. The Vivint security system is a complete monitoring system that is easy to learn and use. The ability to control it remotely through our cell phones is a real plus for my wife and me. We are in our late 70s and appreciated the professional installation, thorough, patient training and ease of use of the system. On the negative side I feel the equipment is overpriced and the contract period is too long even though the system monitoring service seems to be in line with competitors. I also just happened to remember that I have been with my present monitoring service over 10 years.

    My Vivint team was AWESOME!! Jared ** is informative, knowledgeable and extremely friendly. David and Eddie did the installation. They were in and out. Very fast and professional. David made sure everything was working properly before leaving. And explained step by step on how to use the system. He did a fantastic job. We are very happy and feel Very Secure in our new home.
