    We had been long term customers of Vivint for 9 years. We decided to transfer service when we moved to a new town. We asked about their ability to provide monitoring service in this new smaller town, they said they absolutely could, but informed us it would be best to purchase new updated device, which cost $1897, so we agreed. Their technician came and installed the new system on January 7th of 2025. We specifically requested motion sensors in specific areas and were told there should be no issues. As soon as the technician left, we started getting motion detector error messages continuously. We called the tech the next day and he suggested to change the batteries, which is weird since everything was just installed.

    We changed the batteries but continued to receive the same error messages. We also noticed the motion detectors were not working in the requested areas. The lights would not turn on, the garage door openers would not work, neither did the front door bell camera. We called the tech but he suggested to contact customer support to find out if they would send someone out. We called customer support and they had us on the phone for over two hours trying to troubleshoot the multiple issues, with no success. We asked to have a tech onsite, they asked us for three dates that could work with scheduling and would call us back, we never heard back. We called again at least a dozen time in the next three weeks letting them know the system was also not connecting to wifi, they tried troubleshooting with us on the phone to no success.

    The frustration kept growing and our patience level running thin, we called customer support and told them we would dispute the charge if they could not get someone out to fix the system, we were still given the runaround. After one month, we disputed the $1897 with the credit card company. They then started calling about payment, we told them we would resume the service if they could fix the system. Our credit card company allowed the dispute due to Vivint's no response.

    After three months of back and forth, we asked them to come deinstall their device from our home, they said they don't such practice and asked to give them a chance to fix it. They kept wasting multiple hours of our time on the phone but could never find a tech. Five months later, Vivint withdrew $1897 from our checking account, without our consent. We called them to let them know that action seemed like a fraudulent practice, but we were met with they're still trying to find a tech to send out to our home.

    We read reviews about some nightmares others have experienced, so we consulted with an attorney and was told a refusal to pay the upfront fee for the system could have them send us to collection. It was now end of July, we called them and let them charge us for the system, because they kept refusing to cancel the service, even though it has never worked. They even had the nerves to continue to charge us the $50 monthly subscription and have refused to deactivate the system. Their customer support only cares about reading scripts and making promises they never seem to be able to deliver. RUN from this company.

    Vivint is the top of the line security, surveillance and smart home system. The quality of the cameras and how everything works integrated with the app is very convenient. Our tech went above and beyond to explain everything he was doing, then after a long day of work, he stayed to educate us on all the features and functionality.     STAY AWAY. I was approached by a salesman that would not take NO for an answer. He kept pushing. He made the deal sound good, he told me that it would be 112.00 a month. Within 1 hour he had the system installed, and he discounted my ADT system. Although I had 3 days to cancel. He never once told me how much the equipment was, the next day after finding out that the equipment was over 4k, and my monthly payment was going to be a lot more then 112 a month, I cancelled. Then I find out they opened a charge card through Fortiva in my name to finance the 4k, I never authorized them to do this. I called to find out how long before they would come get their equipment, was told 30 days.

    When the salesman came out, I told them I was under contract, he told me they would buy out the contract from ADT, I owed over 2k, after they installed I received an email from them, that states the buyout would only cover up to 1k, not the 2k that I owe, so even more reason I cancelled with them. I called again, to have them come pick up their equipment still said 30 days, even though the charge card company will take their pmt before then. I never gave them any authorization to do any of this, and I had 3 days to cancel. They should have never installed anything until after the 3 days. Every time I called they kept offering me discounts for me to stay, I kept telling them no, I want to cancel. ADT, is reconnecting their equipment today, I will have VIVINT equipment in a box on the porch. These people need to stop being so pushy, and deceptive.

    Service was great, but I didn't like the fact they ran a credit check without my permission and did and caused a hard inquiry on my report. The young man told me the equipment was cober, and after his buddy installed the equipment, I saw a $3000.00+ fee. Other than the false advertisement, the service was great.

    I am loving the equipment we got. Everything is so high tech. I love having all my cameras, and everything in one app. We got the door lock with our system and that is awesome. I love how if I put the code on the door lock it I arms the system. I also love how I can lock the door and unlock from the app and the panel. I love how the spotlight light follows and the deter is awesome. The installation was fast and very professional. The salesman was absolutely great. I would recommend this product to everyone.

    They left a hole in the middle of siding on the eve of our house. The technician who was installing system never informed us that he put the hole in. He said that he couldn't install there. He could have known that from looking inside the attic. Waiting for response from the claims department.

    I believed everything was on track since I had just finished paying for my ADT Blue contract. I wasn’t keen on switching from ADT, especially after maintaining a commercial account for my business for over a decade. Then Rob, the representative, convinced me to consider a new system. I was approved for financing up to $6,000 and was informed that my equipment cost would be around $40 a month, with a similar fee for monthly service. Additionally, I was promised a waived installation fee in exchange for leaving a review and placing a sign in my yard. With that in mind, I agreed to the plan, and shortly after, Therren came to set up the system.

    However, Therren didn’t have an indoor camera available, so he suggested I swap it for another type of camera. We also had to switch out the alarm fog since that was unavailable too. Now I’m puzzled by a $328 withdrawal from my account. While Therren was polite and composed, the installation left much to be desired; the holes are poorly drilled and lack precision, as evidenced in the photos. I have a feeling we might encounter further issues down the line. Honestly, I feel like I just signed up for a service that has already provided subpar installation, and it seems the payments will exceed what was originally promised.

    We feel very fortunate that Vivint found us. Since my 89-year-old mother & I moved into our new house in May, we had bad experiences with ADT/ Safe Streets. We weren’t happy with the limited service or equipment they provided. We also discovered that the Safe Streets rep had misrepresented who they were. We felt we couldn’t trust them with our home security.

    Vivint intervened and bought out our ADT contract. We are so relieved. Now we have the security system that we want. Vivint was able to offer us extra services and tie in everything together in one place. We now have an improved and complete system. Our car was stolen off our driveway two months ago. After that happened, ADT didn’t offer us any coverage of the garage and driveway at a price we could afford. Now with Vivint, we don’t need to worry about it any longer.

    Now we can control our garage door opening and closing through the app on our phones. And any activity on the driveway will be exposed. Additional cameras were installed for better coverage of our property. We can control the thermostats for heating and cooling our home through the app. Vivint also provided us with medical alerts, which help my elderly mom and I feel more prepared in the event we experience an emergency. The Vivint employees were great—professional yet friendly.

    We felt very comfortable with them working in our home. Kyle, the sales rep, showed us how well he knew the products and services. He thoroughly explained things and answered all our questions. The installation guys impressed us with their knowledge and abilities. They took the time to show us how the features work and helped us understand how to use the app. We look forward to working with Vivint in the future. They’re making us feel safe and secure which means a great deal to us.

    Christopher ** and Clint ** were assigned to handle the installation of my system. They arrived on time and immediately introduced themselves. They were professional and personable. Their assessment of my home was very thorough. They listened to my questions and addressed my concerns. When there were options regarding certain decisions, they sought my opinion. They both gave me their business cards in case they could be of further assistance and I have already made use of that.     The installation was a quick and smooth process, the technician went over all the necessary information and details. As for the sales representatives, they were kinda misleading on the whole wireless monitoring on my cell without the system being connected to the wifi, but other than that, I was given pretty good deals. Overall I would say my experience was slightly about moderate because of that one issue.

    STAY AWAY!!! We PAID IN FULL but when the technician showed up, his work order is Completely Different than our paid in full quote (it was missing Several of the cameras/sensors we PAID IN FULL for). The technician left. We spent more than an hour on the phone each representative would just transfer us without telling us they were transferring us, then the person who picked up would have no idea what’s going on. We spoke to a couple different managers but NO ONE knows what’s going on. (One of the managers tried to say that the technician must be inexperienced, although he says he’s told me he’s been with the company for 20 years. Also, another manager insinuated that I must’ve let a random person into my house - who was wearing a Vivint shirt and had all my info - instead of one of their technicians. Ummm… even if that’s true, the “real“ technician never showed up, then. That’s ridiculous.)

    Before the install debauchery, every time we called to try to confirm our quote and pay for it, NO ONE knew what was going on nor could they find our last quote (even though we had quote numbers) so we always had to go up to a manager to rebuild the quote that we had. They are an absolute hot mess. My mother canceled her system that she has had for years, and I requested a refund and canceled everything, as well. I have yet to be refunded.

    Amazing system. Much better than ADT. Installation was very smooth since I had ADT and was not satisfied with the quality. Ryan the installer was very knowledgeable and fixed what was not working with ADT. Everything works and a better system than ADT. I do not tolerate poor customer service so I fired ADT.

    They said we would have three cameras. We only have one they did not tell us that the system was slow to react. They did not tell us that they had a no return policy and they charged us $2969 one camera keypad, and one doorbell. They did not tell us that we could not return this. If we were unsatisfied we did not get the contract until seven days later and we try to cancel the contract and they would not let us out of the contract. This is not a good alarm system. People should petition for them not to be in their neighborhood. Deception people. I did not know that they were going to check my credit and give me credit through someone else. Now looks like I am stuck in this and can’t get out of this contract. I haven’t even had a month. They’re slow to react. It doesn’t let you know that your door has been open for about 10 minutes and then it will tell you that the door is open.

    They drilled a hole in my wall inside the house. Ring doorbell doesn’t cost this much and it reacts faster than this does. Please don’t waste your money with this company. Get a ring. They have cameras also. I guess this company wants so much money for this so-called tablet that they have. It’s not worth it. They’re not a good company.

    It has been a nightmare trying to cancel our subscription after we found out by a letter in the mail saying we have to pay over 2k for the camera after only telling us it was a monthly subscription. We have called over 20 times to try and cancel it and they refuse to do so. The camera has had problems from the very start where it disconnects and we have to call someone to fix it, yet they won’t let us cancel out subscription. We regret getting the Vivint cameras. Please save yourself from this mess! I truly doesn’t even deserve this 1 star. We were paying monthly plus expecting to pay 2k+ for a camera that constantly has trouble and doesn’t work. The only way we could stop paying for this bad service was calling out bank explaining everything and cancelling the automatic payments. Since Vivint never allowed us to cancel after saying we don’t have the funds for it, we just stopped paying.

    Sales guy was great. Technician, not so much. Left boxes/trash everywhere he worked and removed some outlets without asking. He did replace them but those don’t fit the hole completely. We’ve found random screws everywhere and some of the holes drilled are visible. Also…he started installing at 1030pm, didn’t leave until 11:30.

    I previously had Vivint a few years ago so I already had paid off equipment with them. When I had to move for work I called them up to set up services in my new home. However, they failed to show up the day of the install. A day later a supervisor (Sean, I believe) contacted me to make it up to me and we scheduled another install. Day of the install was great. Frank ** (our technician) was able to provide everything I needed, install the devices, and teach me how to use all the relevant technology. I would recommend to anyone looking for a security system.

    I purchased a house that was previously equipped with Vivint security system. I called to activate it which was easy. However, I asked to have someone walk me through the process of using my ‘new to me’ system and had an appointment scheduled. The tech texted me and we started the process. The whole process was done via text. There was some lag during the process and it was difficult to keep up with the instructions. Afterwards the tech called to finish the process. During the call I asked if someone would walk me through the process of how to use my system and help me identify where the sensors were throughout my home. They could not help with that. The tech was very short and not very customer friendly. His name was Steven. Yes, he did text me some things as to how to arm the security and how to disarm but I still have no idea of what to do in an emergency or what the limitations are.

    During the call he informed me that it was a 2 year contract that I just committed to and that my alerts to my app are limited. I am happy with the system that the previous owners purchase and installed but I wish I were treated as a new customer and explained how my security system worked as if I had just purchased it. I’ve learned how to do many things via YouTube so I guess this will be another thing I learn on my own. 2 out of 5 stars mainly because of my customer service experience so far.

    Awesome, I will say it again. Awesome. The feeling I feel now being secure. I can’t say it enough. With the cameras and the lighting I now have in my entire back yard along with video surveillance. It’s so nice, I can actually see everything. along with the new lighting and camera coverage I have in the front part of the garage area that shows where both our vehicles sit. I cannot stress this enough to how important that is. Take it from someone who had their car stripped repeatedly for over 10 thousand dollars. To finally having it stolen, 23 years I owned that truck and still feel sick and violated with everything I been through with theft. That includes stealing box’s out of our U-Haul while trying to move. To those thieves getting my entire identity. To where 2 months later they tried to access my bank account.

    This security system is well worth having to show you who is outside on your property and give you the opportunity to try to protect your yourself from theft or even identify theft like I went through with having my truck and items stolen. Don’t say it will never happen? Imagine going outside and finding your vehicle stolen after owning it for so long and making payments on it for over 4 years gone. I’m still heart broken. With this new system having an alarm makes me feel safe when I’m home alone along with the fact I can reply to anyone who comes to my front door whether I’m home or not. Plus seeing when my packages come to the door so I can retrieve them to keep them from being stolen. You think about it. How much is your peace of mind worth and your security. This package deal is well spent money to a secure future.

    I have been lied to by this company. I was solicited to an upgrade and told the person I cannot afford to increase my bill. I was assured that I can get my upgrades with a five-year contract and equipment without an increase. We received the offer via email. The contract did not match what I was told. We discussed with a manager, and he assured me "David" that my bill wouldn't increase. We proceeded. What he failed to tell me was, I would get a separate bill from the finance company, after I asked if I would have to pay more and told no.

    My bill has now tripled. We are seniors and have been taken advantaged of by this company. They told us we were to only pay Vivint for all it. Now we have a separate bill and of course we find out after the 3-day cancelation. The very next day to be exact. I am disappointed and very upset. I do not recommend going into business with this company very shady. I will hire an attorney if I have to. This is frustrating and upsetting to say the least.

    It began with us wanting a security system. And it just so happened a young man came to advertise and tell us about the company he worked for called Vivint. Drew was very knowledgeable in what he was selling. Every question we would throw at him he had a clear, straightforward answer to it. Its convenience stuck out to me, but the way the system functioned is what got me. The Management is so easy and if I’m ever physically away it’s like I’m still at home. There are no worries and the equipment is mine. I can take it with me when I move and they will install it wherever I go. Love it. Biggest deal about it is its affordability.

    Biggest mistake I have ever made. Salesman lied to me about everything. I tried to cancel the very next morning. Would not answer my texts or calls. He avoided me all weekend. When I called the office they tried to talk me into keeping the system by offering me a cheaper rate. I have 3 days to cancel. I didn’t even have it 24 hours and after reading the contract more thoroughly I wanted no part of it. Still waiting on them to pick up the equipment. It may be a good system but the salesman was a liar and a cheat. Avoid if possible.

    Sold my home and called Vivint to cancel. I could sense panic immediately. Sent me to cancellation ext. he wanted new owner info. What?! He then goes down a list of questions like a survey. We oblige. He then says he has a 20-minute questionnaire to go over. I split in two. We finally get to the cancellation extension just to be told the final is prorated so I will be charged another month after selling home. NOT RECOMMENDED!! Criminals to prorate final bill, knowing I don't live there anymore.

    My name is Carol **. I’m a handicap person and I’m disabled. It’s very very sad that your company do not have no one to come out and work on your system for you. I had a door alarm that broke so I might try to break in my house and I have road cancer surgery and I had two major knee surgery and I’m raising for a grandbaby. I didn’t call five times to get someone to come out and put the sensor back up on my door. I pay extra for in case install may need to come out out, but they won’t do it. I hope I’m not on the contract cause I’m going somewhere else.

    I love the system that I have to work with, but the customer service is it’s not good at all and I just say you don’t have senior citizen. It’s very sad the way they tell you, "Well you don’t have to put it at the top. You can put it away at the bottom," you know it’s sad the way they talk to you like some as a child. I pay extra full service for someone to come work on my lawn system. My husband just passed away March 26. I’m in this big house with me and my four grand babies and it’s sad. I can’t get my alarm fixed, but thanks anyway God will make a way.

    Everything started out great and worked well. Nine or ten months later front door keypad needed new batteries. I went to change the batteries and the part that holds them also came off. It controls the inside handle to the dead bolt and has the wire union to the keypad. It WILL NOT go back on. We called to get help. The lady on the other WOULD NOT send help and instead sent us a whole new deadbolt and keypad set. Their customer service is so piss poor. I AM expected to be the professional locksmith and it is up to me to repair their faulty product. If we hadn't spent the money with the equipment I would cancel this service.

    I had seen their signs in the neighborhood, so I figured they were legit. The representative was knowledgeable and polite. I am living on a fixed income and he worked out the details so I could have the safety I needed. They installed it right after I agreed, so no second day or delay in service. Javi installed and spent time on the easy to follow instructions. I was able to add an app on my phone to help me along the way. As a recent widow I am happy and relieved to have this system to give me some protection. I was excited to easily use it, and have options to see, talk to, or ask them to put my package in a safe place. Oh yeah, the camera has a sharp, color display and you can quickly review the camera, and save a picture for identification. I'm sorry to go on and on, but Daniel, from Vivint, made this an easy transition to a better and safer life. Thank you, sir.

    I had a Rep come to my door from Utah to Kansas City. They put the material in and did not tell me about a contract or taking any loan out in my name. I took him to court. They were supposed to write off the loan but they charged it off. I recently took them to court. This has been years trying to clear this up so I had to file an appeal and I am thinking about getting an attorney to get this off of my credit report because I did not approve any loan for over $3,000 in my name. This company is dishonest, fraudulent and I have yet to get rid of them. From harmful rays I don't want to deal with her fraudulent company and I'm trying to alert others; so they don't get caught up in this 3,000 loan that they take out in your name, without your knowledge and contact; neither was mentioned to me.

    I just had my alarm system installed and I was very disappointed with the sales rep as he was not honest about the equipment. They had to come back to “fix” the issues I had but of course did not leave before adding extra fees to my account. Feeling like I should have stayed with ADT. Oh and my fire alarm is not functioning after the second time being here to “fix” the issues. Vivint needs to train their employees to be more professional.

    The technician came on time. He installed all of the equipment and made sure we had what we needed. He helped me and my family get logged in and acquainted with are new set up, which was very easy. I feel safe in my home with this new system and we highly anticipate adding more equipment in the future. The monthly price is comparable to our previous provider so that helps out a lot. The equipment is must better than my previous provider and the open ability to add more equipment later is nice. My technician really made our transition smooth from one provider to another.

    July 23, 2025. I have been a Vivint customer for approximately three years. The equipment was fully paid off within the first year. In May 2025, I contacted Vivint to cancel my service and provided the required 30-day notice. Despite multiple attempts to cancel, they have refused to honor my request and have continued to charge my credit card. Due to their refusal to cancel the service, I was forced to cancel my credit card—a major inconvenience. The customer service experience has been extremely poor. With so many alarm companies available today, I find it unacceptable that Vivint treats its customers this way.

    To make matters worse, their customer service is not based in the United States, and communication has been difficult. I also sent two written correspondences to Vivint’s corporate headquarters and never received a response. Anyone considering this company should be cautious. Once you sign up, canceling is a nightmare. The customer service is virtually nonexistent, and the overall experience has been incredibly frustrating.

    I didn't realize that both selling the system and installing it on the same day as possible. So I was just a little confused. The hole thing took about 5.5 hrs. Both the installer and seller were very nice. Only complaint is that it took longer to install than expected. It was very late for us before they were finished. (After 10:30pm.)

    Vivint salesmen came to my home & told me how much better they were than ADT Security Service. They offered 3 cameras for the price I was paying for one doorbell cam. I said that I had a contract with ADT, not a problem, I was told, Vivint will pay off the remainder of your ADT contract, if you switch to Vivint. So I switched to Vivint. THEY DID NOT PAY OFF MY ADT CONTRACT. Like the salesmen promised. Now I am being harassed by a collection agency for almost $ 1000.00 ADT contract, that Vivint was supposed to pay. Don't trust Vivint Salesmen!

The door-to-door sales representative Jake ** and his supervisor Aditya made promises they didn’t keep and provided information that turned out to be completely inaccurate.     On 7 18 2025 a representative came to the house and told us that the equipment would be free and we just have to pay for the service only to find out hours later once it was installed that we had to pay for the equipment so now no one wants to answer the phone. This is awful. Very poor customer service. Complete scam.     First, I had been looking into home security for a while. The other day, a sales rep (Seyi) was in my neighborhood and stopped to talk to me. Very nice. Very polite. Funny young man. After talking with him, we just decided to get Vivint. The tech came to set up our home security today it was quick and he was awesome. (Kyle K can’t remember last name.) I got the panel, doorbell camera, and three sensors. Comes with emergency response and I got a flood alert thing. I did not have to pay all of those installment fee with the promotion going on. Just have the orange sign in my front yard to promote. And my bill is under 200$ for the first 4 months then under 50$ for the next 20 months. I believe I will sleep better tonight knowing I have Vivint.

    Very poor experience. First, Vivint sent me an email stating they changed my install date. The tech finally shows up on the rescheduled date, makes a mess, leaves his trash around, wires everywhere, isn’t prepared with the right equipment, has to borrow my ladder, doesn’t finish the install and promised me he would be back tomorrow to finish between 6-7pm. 6-7pm came and went so I called customer service only to be informed by their automated line my next appointment is in 1 week. I spoke to customer service and their leadership was “Too busy” to speak with me. Very disappointing! Overpriced garbage, no one cares once you sign a contract.     Listen! Stay far away from this company. Took me forever to cancel them. Went through about 10 people. Finally got someone. She was the only thing amazing about this company. Her name is heather. She should be CEO. But anyways finally got services canceled after trying and being transferred 10 times and holding for 5 hours. Then tech comes, takes all the stuff out and my doorbell is not working and he saying he does not no how to fix it. PLEASE STAY AWAY. JUST HORRIBLE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

    My technician Elijah was super quick and efficient. He was very thorough with the install. He took the time to make sure I was tracking everything and understood everything. Would recommend getting him for sure! He represents the company well. The salespeople were also great. Took their time with me and were kind.

    Great customer service. I was very reluctant on started but the representative had a five-star attitude. Any questions that I had he was able to answer and the technician came out not even 30 minutes later so everything was fantastic.

    The salesman and technician were both very helpful in the process. Within a few hours of selling me the equipment a technician was there to install. They were both very professional and worked very hard on to get it done quickly and efficiently. We’ve had the service for about few days now and it works a lot better than our other store bought cameras.

    I’m getting used to it. A survey should come after a week or so of using the system. So far, it’s ok. It does pick up a person at a good distance. It does let me know. I like the flashing lights at night. The bird chirp is different.. but it’s an attention getter. Only time will tell.

    I really don’t like how you guys started off lying to me in the beginning about my appointment. Not very happy with this company. I asked the guy before he left if there was anything else. His respond was everything works properly. My cameras don’t work properly. Then they want to charge you $100 to come out for something they didn’t get right the first time! I’m not being reimburse for taking off work to call them to fix the problem so no, I don’t want to pay the $100 for them to come back out and make something right they didn’t get right the first time. I hope they treat someone else better than they did me. Not to mention the lagging the app does and takes 30-1 minute to load on phone. Feel like this is a complete waste of my time.

    Incredibly disappointed in this company and its service! The app is always undergoing maintenance. The cameras constantly go offline and have to be rebooted. For a security system this is unacceptable!

    Ahmed explained Vivint, and John Paul professionally installed the system. Any updates I needed they were able to assist. It was time consuming and my dogs were pretty annoying. They were patient and kind. Thank you.

    I've been with ADT for years. My first system the buyout was $1200 and couldn't take it with me when I moved. My second system (that I'm throwing away now) is junk. Horrible quality! The system I got from Vivint is mine. I pay Vivint for service. Great equipment! Oscar My sales agent was good to work with. My installer Douglas was Top Shelf!

    My initial thought of owning Vivint was the expense but one would need to explain customers that there are two separate billing, it is not in one setting bill. But the service overall is good. Technician was wonderful, efficient and friendly. And pricing is reasonable. Be sure to check the cost and billing. But it is worth to secure your home.

    Just want to take a moment to place the spot light on the exceptional Vivint Sales Representative, Leon, 29 June 2025 and the Technician, Micheal **, who performed the installation of our new Vivint (Home) security system installed on or about 1 July 2025. Leon was professional and took the time to provide the Pros and Cons for moving from Brinks to Vivint. At no time did Leon resort to any pressure sales tactics! That was greatly appreciated. His dynamic presentation and the impressive Vivint equipment sold my wife and I on the need for switching over to the Vivint products and services. Michael was not only very personable, but went out of his way to answer all of our questions (often going in to great detail). He spent a considerable amount of time surveying our residence which served us well when it came down to determining the best location for installing the cameras. The overall experience couldn't have gone any better!
