Everything was right there in black and white so no guessing what it was going to cost or the "catch" so to say.     Very unexpected service display because we were looking into security cameras the day before. Parrish did explain Vivint to the max capacity and gave us a great deal. Installation person named Jessie was very quick and upbeat. Informed us on all his decisions and guy that helped him was very polite also.     Our installer, Adam, was great. Very informative and helping during entire time. Worked with us on placing sensors (my wife is VERY picky) and made sure it was all ok before final installation. Adam stayed late to set up a second control panel because the first one was not working, then showed how whole system worked and we are very happy. However, the overall process of getting this system was not optimal. I recognize that, as a company, you save expenses by trying to establish equipment needs over phone but it didn't work at all for us.

    We completely changed the equipment at our first installation appointment and thus, the overall cost of the system went up a good bit. More disappointing was the fact that the first installer could not do the job because we needed an electrician to do some work for the front doorbell camera to work. If we had an initial visit, then both these issues would have been resolved before an installation was to take place. It is disappointing for a customer to think they are getting a new system only to have to wait an unknown amount of time for the electrician work. Again, this is about the overall process, not the ultimate installation by Adam which was a very pleasant experience.

    I was interested in security. I contacted ADT...well, that was anticlimactic. No show for home appointment. Phoned to find out what happened...spent an hour on and off hold, being swapped back to phone trees and being hung up on. Finally was connected to a provider (contractor?) here in LA who said he could not schedule a new appointment for me, because there was an appointment scheduled...but he couldn't see who that appointment was with nor get me in touch with anyone who could figure that out. He told me it was, "Like calling WalMart and asking for information on your Target account." Seriously. Dialed the same number, every single time.

    A friend recommended Vivint. I called and it was a human! And he went over everything with me and scheduled a technician for the next day. The technician arrived and was a consummate professional and so pleasant. Install went off without a hitch and I am sooo happy! Skip that first nightmare of that other company. Go with Vivint!

    The problem is Vivint and their inappropriate actions. Vivint came in to upgrade my panel and only discussed lower payment with the camera. When I checked my account, Vivint took $853. I didn't authorize them to take that amount, which wasn't explained. Personally it's false advertisement. I called and no feedback, just a survey. I completely think different of vivint. Things should be handle better and not misleading through your representatives. I'm just not pleased.

    This company take advantage of Senior Citizens. I was sold a product and I was not told it was going to be my responsibility to put it together and install. I was told that once the product came in to call the sales rep and he would come right out and install it. That was a joke. He never came and would not answer his phone. So I was stuck like Chuck. When I call corporate they too gave me the run around and wanted me to pay 200.00 for installation. This was a terrible experience for me. This company is awful!

Upon receiving my paperwork he signed me up for a 5 year loan, for 3 grand. I canceled immediately. But the guys are dragging their feet to pick the equipment up. Why? So they can charge me for it. I called to make an appointment for them to pick the equipment up and the only available window for 2 weeks is 12-4. Yet when they put the equipment in, it was 830 and they arrived 10 minutes after me signing up. Oh and the doorbell camera stopped working after a day. So frustrating.

    Logan stopped by the house on July 4 because neighbors had reported a few issues. Even though we weren't customers yet, he wanted to check in to be sure everything was okay with us. Our family from out of town, so he gracefully bowed out. We asked him for a card with intentions on calling him back out after our visitors were gone. He was in the neighborhood again on the 6th, so he stopped back by. We ended up deciding to move forward, and we had our system installed and explained by Luis that night.     I purchase a smart home system with you'll. It was install July 4th and I paid the full amount cash... But I didn't know it didn't come with the door bolt lock... So on July 6th I call to add it to my bill which the guy told me that was all I had to do... I called at 10:00 but no one seems to know what I wanted. I stayed on the phone one time 31/2 hours because they say I had to talk to tech support... But no one ever came to the phone!, I call back. I was on hold 1hr 7mins then transferred 3 times to several people that didn't know what to do. The last transfer she answered but was on hold another 45 min.. Was transferred again. Waited 36 mins. She answered. Still I explained as clearly as I could. I wanted to purchase a lock and to add it to my bill... She said, "OK I can get you a replacement lock..."

    I told her it wasn't a replacement. I was purchasing it and needed someone to install it... First she say I had to install it myself.. I said, "What! I'm in a wheelchair. I can't install a lock..." Then she said she would mail it to me and when I get it call back and they would send someone out! That doesn't make any sense.. I ask her to speak with her management. She said to hold on... Her phone hung up. She never call me back and she had my number on the file! This is bad business and terrible customer service.. If I knew this I would have purchased my system from somewhere else. Very disappointed!!!

    The install guys were nice, but left their wire cuttings and trash everywhere. Didn't close up my attic opening or clear up behind themselves. He stapled the camera cable on top of wiring in my garage, noticed when my lights wouldn't turn off because a staple was piercing the wiring. Not fond of the over fish-eyed images on the cameras. I expressed that to the install guys. Sent a message to Thomas, the sales guy, this morning about a question. No response yet. I was told I have 3 days to decide if I like it, so far not a good fit. I had better hear back soon or you can take this equipment back and cancel my account.

Was not familiar with applying referral code. Advised he could not. I had to call customer service three times during install process to get code applied. After only working for one hour. Installer left without telling us temporary code. We set off alarm causing police to dispatch. Return today and was slothful. Installer did not represent the company positively. If I had not already cancelled my previous provider I would have cancelled you guys. I'm not happy with the service we received at all.

    Just when I thought I had seen the last of the lows of Vivint customer service it got worse.
    After two cancelled service appointments, a technician finally showed up on July 16th. It was clear when he arrived that he wasn’t given any of the background and thought he was there to fix a camera. Additionally, he did not bring the additional equipment discussed in several phone conversations with “customer loyalty”. When I asked about it, the technician had to call the office. I’ll spare you the details of an hour’s worth of conversation. The bottom line.......
    I was told initially the additional equipment could be folded into the financing of the original equipment. NOW I was being told that I had to pay upfront for the equipment BECAUSE I was adding the equipment after 30 days!!! Only reason this happened is because Vivint canceled two appointments!!!

    Be very careful. The system is the most expensive out there but Vivint does not have the corporate commitment or resources to carry out what they promised.

    Original review:

    System was installed about three weeks ago. Within three DAYS, we had an attempted break in to our vehicles, one in the front driveway and one in back driveway. NO alarm was triggered!!! This occurred at 1:00 am and the only way we found out was a neighbor’s system picked up the intruders headed to our property and told us the following morning. It’s worth noting that although the cameras are always on, there is NO recording to review unless an event is triggered!!! Even by Vivint! In order to have any recording to review you have to also have a smart drive installed. We were led to believe that 30 days of recording was available at Vivint. Not so. So, a few days in, we had a system that proved it was not capable of providing security. But that was when the problems really began.

    The morning of the incident, we spent an hour or more on the phone with tech support to no avail. They said we needed a service call. The BEST they could do is one week. System still cannot be trusted. Despite receiving two requests to confirm the appointment, it was cancelled by them. No technician available. Another call to customer loyalty (quite a misnomer) and another wait on the phone for almost an hour, another sympathetic employer, more apologies, more promises, another appointment a week away (best they could do) AND, the same routine, two confirmation requests and then cancelled again!

    ANOTHER call to customer loyalty, another long wait, another sympathetic employee, but this time, I was promised that I would receive a call back from someone in management. 48 hours+ and still no call. I have left out a number of calls, the waiting to be transferred,the number of people that promised this would be resolved and an expensive system that can’t do what it is supposed to do. Bottom line: VIVINT DOES NOT HAVE THE RESOURCES TO BACK UP THEIR PROMISES!!!!

The issues prolonged his visit time at least one hour but he did not complain or even let me know that there were any problems until he was leaving when I inquired. He installed 2 new pieces of equipment, provided instructions on use and assisted us with an issue with our Vivint home app. Super nice guy and a pleasant experience. Better than we have had in all of our years with Vivint.

    I was taken through the process with the rep via text which was fine... but I never received my log in or any info on the app!! Once the transaction went through, I was left high and dry and now I am on the phone with a 25 minute wait time!!! Very disappointing.
