    The install with the Tech was great. He went to bat for me and kept pushing for the initial rate that he quoted me after doing a walk thru around the home. When he made adjustments to the equipment, it threw the whole quote off and raised the monthly monitoring by $20 a month and increased the equipment charges by $1500. Spent 2.5 hours in the am on the phone with customer service and then another 2 hours in the afternoon trying to get the quote to match up with what we agreed to. Totally ridiculous that a 4 hour jobs took 9 hours to complete. I was ready to have him take down the equipment and look for another security system. I should be compensated for my time and frustration in having to deal with this with him on the phone for almost 5 hours.

    I recently had a Vivint security system installed. I had done a ton of research and went with this company due to their “great customer service”. When the technician came out to install, he didn’t introduce himself- didn’t say his name or that he was from Vivint. He didn’t seem to have much Knowledge when asked some questions. Later I tried calling customer service to ask a question and had to wait over 30 minutes, Twice but never got through. I tried to reach out to the salesman who sold the system and he basically ignored me. This is after he told me the company never offered promotions and later I learned that was not accurate. When I tried to cancel, I couldn’t get through On the phone either. Terrible customer service and staff who are not knowledgeable of their product..I would recommend going with a another company other than Vivint.

    When you are pressure sold to and they speak negatively of other companies it is a red flag that this may not be a good idea. The installation was misrepresented. It is hours, your doors will be let open for your AC to escape as well as your pets while flies come in. They do not put things back when moved including fragile items (left China in the middle of the floor to be broken). It will disrupt you. I had ADT and this is virtually the same but more expensive with flashier equipment if that is important to you. Sales lady was friendly as was installer but it was not what I had been told.

    It hasn't even been 24 hrs since install. So far only thing I'm not liking is the way the panel board was installed. I was led to believe it was going to be hard wired into my outlet and instead a hole was made in my wall and then wire pulled down and cord brought to the outside of my outlet and then plugged in. It's not a great look and I'm not impressed with that. Both were very nice but I was not impressed with the salesman pushy approach. Basically it came down to we were told if we didn't sign up right now and called later after discussing it as a family to sign up the prices would be different and not as good of a deal and when I asked for prices in writing so we could talk about it was told that it's not allowed.

    We just moved into our home. It was already equipped with Vivint home security equipment. We have been in contact with a rep’s number that was given to us by the previous home owners and the rep (Aaron **) has been fantastic is helping us. He organized for a tech to come out and help us move some sensors and get some cameras back online. The tech was able to get the cameras back up but the sensor that we needed moved fell down after about an hour of it being installed and he also left somewhat of a mess in our home. He accidentally knocked down some decor in our backyard and just left it for us to put back up, which is no big deal, but he also left his shoe covers just inside the doors covered in mud. Overall, we are excited to be using vivint and the great product that they have to offer but the technician could have possibly been more professional.

    Sales guy was nice, installer was nice, but unfortunately a couple hours after set up, the doorbell camera went offline. I followed all the steps and nothing worked, I had to speak with customer service and eventually came to the conclusion that I needed a service tech to come out. It may just be a fluke that the doorbell camera malfunctioned but when I can’t get a tech out to fix it in less than 24 hours, it’s just not acceptable. Service tech wouldn’t be able to get to me for 3 days. This is my home security! Also the car guard was never able to connect. The installer is supposed to contact me today to bring out a new device, at which point I intended to have her fix the doorbell camera. I may just go ahead and cancel; 3 days to try out the service just isn’t enough time especially considering that it malfunctioned after only a couple of hours.

    I had a SmartHome system installed in 2017. I don’t have any negatives concerning the equipment and install was painless. The system even caught a small oven fire that started when a plastic item placed inside to dry was forgotten about and the oven was turned on to preheat (not my brightest moment). I was out of my home follow hurricane Florence and I got alerts when the heat went out and my home temperatures dropped to a level that could have ended in frozen pipes. It is great to monitor when away and to keep an eye of packages. In the beginning, if I needed customer service there were small wait times. I have had to call three times in the past month and 40 minutes is now my average wait time. With something as important as my home security I would expect better customer service.

    I just finished a 53 minute call to order a new thermostat. The representative couldn’t order it with me on the phone and has to contact another department. She did offer a credit for the expedited shipping so the equipment will arrive before my new HVAC install. However, I ended the call without a tracking number and was told I would have to call back to get it! At this moment I don’t know if it is truly ordered or not and I have to brace myself for more wasted time tomorrow.

    Sales rep and installer were very knowledgeable. It was great meeting them. Install although late didn’t take too long. All my questions were answered and no issues. Sales rep also answered all of our questions and concerns. Very knowledgeable as well and a pleasure to speak with.
