    The rep was able to accommodate us with timing and always courteous. He assured us of a thorough installation and they would do everything possible to be in and out quickly. The installers called the initial day of installation but it was late and I requested another date. On the date of installation, I did not receive a phone call prior to arrival and I was not at home. They came back later when I was home. The thermostat didn’t work and they forgot to link my motion sensor. I was told they will contact me today regarding that issue.

    I used to really like Vivint but they contacted me to tell me I had to upgrade my control panel and after they mailed me the computer chip, and I installed it. Once it was installed they discovered it wasn't going to work with the cell tower in my area and the existing hardware. Therefore, I agreed to buy an entire new system as well as wait for a technician to get in touch with me so he could reinstall my existing chip because it's going to be the later part of October before they can install all the new equipment and I'm left with no alarm system.

    The repair technician that was supposed to reinstall my old chip has never called me (supposed to yesterday) nor has the technician that is supposed to install my new system. So, I called vivint for the fifth time and was on hold for over 30 minutes every time, and they finally gave me a date for the new equipment for later part of October. I am going to cancel Vivint and I suggest you pay close attention to how they talk when they are trying to upsell you, and if you give in and buy their entire new system as I almost did be sure and not allow them to convince you to change your old computer chip in your old panel because it won't work with your old equipment and you'll be without a system until they finally get to you.

    The salesman was a little pushy but in the end we got what we wanted. One of the selling points was the garage door opener which wouldn’t work and the tech said he has that problem a lot. I wish the salesman would have said there was a chance it will not work. All in all the system seems to work good. Downstairs camera has went offline twice. I did get a package notification while at work this morning and it was nice to be able to confirm that it was there and have the option to turn on the deter to chirp at someone if they approach it. Only been one day but I’m satisfied so far.

But when we had to shut off the AC due to an issue with it we could not get it to start the AC back up. I was working so my wife had to sit on hold with service 30 minutes before being walked through the program to start it again. All this while the AC repair tech was waiting on it. And Only to discover it kicked off again moments after getting off the phone with them. Now awaiting new thermostat. This was all within days of the install and with the Vivint thermostat.     Updated on 09/27/2020: This is a continuation of my previous Review. After a 6+ hour customer call marathon, they promised to refund their shady additional charge of $53. Guess what? They charged me an additional $53 before giving me the refund. They tried to sneak it pass me as well. If I wasn't looking closely at their billings, I would've totally missed it. For my previous review, they just replied and forwarded me to a standard Customer Service chat link as if that's gonna solve and remedy all their shady practice. God I want this company to go down to ashes!

    Original Review: I'm typing this as I wait on my 6 hour mark talking to Customer Service as they bounce between departments and long holds and none of them being able to solve my issue. The Issue - I'm taking over the Vivint from previous home owners and an extremely rude sale rep names Hans (or however it's spelled) offered me $49 Activation fee and $49 for first month subscription; a total of $101. This was all after a 2hr call. The next day I wake up to an additional $53 charge. I'm on a 2-hr call now as they bounce me between departments and not refunding me that shady additional charge. The Supervisor who helped with getting the connection is Bailey. I wish I could give a Big middle ------ for the person who runs this ridiculously shady company and to every single member of the team.

    The duress started during a Q & A Session on the Technician's iPad with 2 officials of the company (1st. a lady, followed by the CEO of the company). The Technician demanded that I should answer 'Yes' that I have read or reviewed agreements/documents I had never read or even seen till today; and during the installation process, he repeatedly obtained my signature under duress and my initials ones, on his iPad, under documents he didn't allow me to read. He didn't even give me an opportunity to take a survey I was expected to take on his iPad. He didn't even discuss how to monitor the system using the cell phone, as my daughter who signed up for the system told me; etc. The whole process was a nightmare and I need someone to talk to about it. I feel that it was a scam.

    I am not satisfied with the agent during the installation process because I don’t feel that I understood everything about the system, ie. how to operate it comfortably- as simple as how to arm and disarm, and how to access the app. The call was terminated after registration verification, when I was under the impression that it shouldn’t have terminated because I was told by the agent that he would still go over the education piece. I tried calling him back and sent a text and voicemail but no response in any form. This is frustrating for somebody who is new to Vivint, not a good impression.
