    I signed up for Vivint in 2016 after being assured that I had the option to cancel at any time so long as I pay off the equipment. I was specifically trying to avoid a long-term contract. I was told they were giving me their "buyout promise" and they would be required to honor it. After multiple connection issues with the devices, their technicians' recommendation was to upgrade the equipment that would require me to pay off the existing equipment then have a higher monthly payment. I declined and have been trying to cancel service for several months since.

    I have jumped through their hoops, paid off the equipment and have been assured twice by their representatives that the service will be cancelled after 30 days. I continue to be billed for a service I am not receiving. They now say they will not honor the buyout promise and have to pay out 50% of the remaining contract to cancel. This is by far the worst purchase I have ever made. Be warned what you are getting into a 5-year contract when you sign up and be skeptical of their sales representatives' promises.

I was provided 1 price and when I called back to provide my card information I was quoted a different price.     I was and am pleased with the product. Mr. ** answered all my questions and addressed my concerns. He did well in explaining how the panel and system work. The reason I did not give 5 stars is because:

    1. Smudges were left on the walls.

    2. A pretty large hole was made by one of the outlets.

    3. I wasn't given the Vivint decal and front door sign.

    4. When I called customer service to see if anything could be done about the hole, I was asked to take a picture and send it at that very moment. It just happened that I wasn't at the house and I couldn't get a picture. I suggested emailing it at a later time, but I was told that I'd have to call again. I also asked to send me the house sign and decals, but, again, I was told to call in two weeks because they had run out of signs. To that I replied to just mail them to me when they become available, but I was told that it wouldn't be possible and that I'd still need to call back.

    In the meantime, my monthly payments include the sign. I want the sign because it can be a deterrent.

    First of all, a lot of the information I received when I called versus during the actual visit by the technician was different, second the Technician did not want to work with my needs as far as camera installation location and quantity and was argumentative. Third, the installation itself is very unprofessional and incomplete because she did not cover the holes after installing the wires which gives a way for the bugs to come inside the house. Fourth, the system is very intermittent and not working as advertised, cameras Don't give a timely alerts and unable to take pictures while watching live cameras as I was told. So we're totally unsatisfied with Vivint.

    The technicians that came to my my house last night left my house very unsecured. All window sensors are not synced to the system, neither is the motion detector. In addition, the front door lock is not synced to the system, my previous codes do not work. My daughter could not get in last night. She rang the doorbell, it doesn't work. If I leave, my house is going to be very unsecure. Oh, I forgot to mention I don't even know the passcode to disarm the system. I am afraid to arm the system.

    Today we just got our Vivint system installed with 4 cameras, doorbell, fire detectors, co2 detectors, glass break detectors, door and window sensors, and other gadgets. The installer really took the time to understand our needs, give us some recommendations (upselling and downselling), he explained what he was going to do in detail and he did everything.     The security products appear to be great. The salesman was fantastic. They have products of all sorts to provide safety to your home. The installer is who made the whole setup go bad. It took him several more hours than it should have. He did not speak fluent English which made learning the system nearly impossible. He forgot what he was suppose to be installing. He asked us where we wanted things but we wanted a recommendation from a professional. Would ask me to read things to him. After 4 hrs. I had to go to bed not knowing how to work my system. My home is suppose to be connected to one app and he could never get that to happen. They're sending another tec today. We'll see how this goes.

    Installation was great. Good help and great walkthrough with the system. The system is pretty fancy. Better than what ADT had for me. Definitely the peace of mind I needed. I just have problems with the setup prior which we spent an hour of trying to move pass it so we could start the installation. But that’s the administrative and financial departments fault. Needs a lot of improvements. Just not what I expected when I did all the setup over the phone prior. I honestly felt like nothing got through the tech. We had to work through it and that’s crazy because he’s paid and not me.

    We called several numbers and I had to pay out of pocket because my financial data was declined and it was an issue I discussed with citizen one and Vivint over the phone prior to my installation. My tech was very understanding and patient. But that did not need to happen. And I didn’t get my discounts for failed appointment as this was my 2nd scheduled visit. It’s really sad that you got your money and the service was poor. I would love a call back please. Thank you.

    Installer arrived to home. He installed alarm system, camera on the side of home, and reactivated the doorbell and camera in the front of the home. However, he did not show us how to set the code on the front door. He said that it needed new batteries and that the door code should be easy to do, once the alarm system is set and new batteries were put in. Well we tried Sunday morning with the new batteries and tried to set the code ourselves, but with no success. I am requesting that someone else come out to correct this. He did not clean up the mess he made nor take the boxes during installation. Metal pieces were left on the floor that could have easily been picked up. He was in a bit of a hurry.

I was lied to, now they want to charge me $300 for a early cancellation. But I did sign up with Vivint so far. I ADT corporate office and explained what happened with one of their employees, so they knock off $200. It should of been the whole thing since it was their mistake. ADT is a good alarm company.
