I chose Andersen because I thought they had the best reputation, but I did not have a good experience with them, especially with the Andersen-certified people. The salesman was excellent, though. We spent $30,000 on these doors, and it took five months to have them installed. And in those five months, Andersen held $10,000 deposit, which is ridiculous. We could have been getting interest on that money somewhere else.
At first, they said it was gonna be four to six weeks until the doors came in, which is fine. And then, finally, the doors came in, and we were scheduled to have them installed, but they canceled. This happened two times. The first time was because they said the doors came in damaged. The second time was because they said the frames didn’t come in.
They called me for the third install, and she gave me a date in October. I told her I can't get down to the shore that time because it is gonna be our shore house now, and the summer is over, so we’re not gonna be down there. But I told her to have it installed the date they accommodated us. She called me back and gave me the date all the way at the end of the month.
In the end, my husband went down to the shore. They came and installed it, but they were missing a piece. At this point, my husband told them that we’re not paying the final payment until the piece comes. So, they drove the piece there. And the guys came back just to realize that they had put the doors in backwards.
It's only been since the end of October that the doors are in there. And we're not down there now. It looks really nice, and I hope it goes well.

We received two Andersen windows. They promised that the replacement would take four weeks, but we waited for two months. However, the installation went fine. The installers did a good job and didn't take a long time.
The windows we got are double casement and have four meshes. One window has a broken lock so I cannot lock it in place. The other one doesn't fit the window frame, so I cannot put the meshes in. So out of the four meshes, two are not done right and doesn't fit.
The distributor will come tomorrow to look at the defects. I hope that after that, we will receive one which will satisfy the requirements. Overall, we're happy with the installation.

Andersen Windows are popular and I like the style and the pricing. I went ahead and got 10 to 12 Andersen 400 double-hung windows. It was a few years ago and I have noticed that some of the paint has scraped a little with minor bumps. I've had some scrapes on the paint on the inside. Other than that, Andersen Windows offers good value.

I first got a quote from Pella and when I was talking to someone in the construction industry that I trusted, they said Andersen Windows had the same quality as Pella, but the cost was a little bit not as steep as Pella. I went with the 100 Series windows with Andersen and got seven of them. We didn't feel the need to go any higher in series because we didn't have insane amount of customization that we wanted to do. We really like our windows. So far, they seem to have very high quality.

I purchased a storm door. How did a year and it pulled away from the hinges. I called them. All I get is the runaround. I will never buy anything from Andersen doors and windows again. They have poor customer service. I have sent numerous pictures. They keep saying they didn’t get them or they weren’t clear when I was on the phone. The gentleman told me he could see them and would forward it onto the next step. Somebody would call me. They called me and was willing to replace the hinges which wasn’t the problem. The hinge actually pulled out of the wood on the door. I am very disappointed with this.

Andersen Windows was able to give me the type of window that I wanted, which was wood on the inside and aluminum on the outside. The other ones I had looked at were not able to do that. The installation went very well. We used Redgate Construction and they came as they said they were gonna do early every morning at 6:30. They were polite. They worked all day, got the job done, and cleaned up after themselves. Everything went very well. They were very confident that nothing could come up that would prevent them from doing a good job.
I'm very happy with my Andersen Windows. They're good quality. But they cost a honking lot of money. My job was $123,000 with the windows and the contractor, so it was very expensive. But my house is a brick house so there was no room for error. They measured a couple of times to make sure that they ordered the right thing. When they came in, everything went in like a glove. Everything went well. It had taken me two and a half years to get to the point of getting the window project done and I was happy with finally getting it over. I have already recommended Andersen Windows to a friend.

Andersen has been the worse customer experience ever! I will NEVER buy another Andersen product. Issues-
1) Storm door was backordered for 3-4 weeks.
2) On arrival parts were missing from box or were the wrong size. The missing parts have been since provided. However the incorrect size part (door sweep) remains unresolved despite contacting customer service.
3) When I called customer service they are incompetent. I am on my 4th phone call. They sent wrong replacement parts twice. I have arguing to get the correct part & showed issues on video calls twice. I even presented the installation instructions to prove my point! Also they ask you to submit your purchasing documents EVERY time you call. I finally said I would not provide it again on my 3rd call. Further on call 3 or 4 the representative did not actually place the order. So I waited 2 weeks for a part that was not actually ordered.
4) When you call customer service the representatives insist that they have sent the correct parts. Although the installation part list & images on the Andersen Website prove they are in error!
5) Promised supervisor calls never occur. I have been told on 3 separate days that a supervisor would contact me. The representative informed me that the phone number I provided was not in service. However, the number was correct AND has been in continuous service for approximately 20 years. I was actually calling them utilizing that phone number on the days the supervisor was calling. So they are trying to tell me my phone was out of service on 3 non-sequential days which is just a lie!
6) Call center is unlikely to based in USA or employ native English speakers. Hence, conversations are not simple exchanges. I had to spell aloud each number & letter in my name & STREET address. My first name & street name are common words with standard spellings and far from unique.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us, and we're sorry to hear about your storm door issue. We strive to provide high-quality products and are disappointed this was not your experience. We will have one of our agents reach out to you to discuss your experience.

I built a new home in Scottsdale, AZ. The builder (Sean ** of Bella Legacy Custom Homes) recommended them. We liked the look, but almost all the large window (10') and 3 front door frames were damaged. It took a year to finally get them to review for warranty. Not all of the damaged frames were replaced. There are still 2 slider frames and all 3 front doors that are severely damaged (more than the items that were replaced) and Andersen refuses to replace under warranty. They will not talk to me directly, only the builder. Not sure if Andersen or the builder is refusing to have them replaced. I believe it is both and now I am stuck with severely damage product that looks terrible. I hold both Andersen and the builder (Sean **) responsible and will never recommend anyone to use either one.

We met with Andersen Windows several times, and we got a sliding glass door for the patio from them. However, it was a longer time than what I had expected because it wasn't available locally. It had to be shipped in from somewhere else. It took a month but we weren't in any hurry. I'm so happy with our installer, AP Windows. It was a difficult installation because we don't live in a normal house with sheetrock and internal structures. We live in a Lindal cedar home, which is like a log cabin, but it's tongue and groove. It's cedar inside and out so it made the installation more tricky because then they had to saw through those big logs to make it fit exactly and make it level. But they did a great job.
The final product is great. Sometimes it's really hard to open but that's 'cause it's really well-sealed. The only tricky part for us was we didn't realize how difficult it was gonna be for old people to get up and down on ladder. My husband's 80 and I'm 75. It's also really expensive. $10,000 for a sliding glass door is expensive but I believe in high quality.

I purchased my home, which is an older home built in 1929, last May, and I had attic windows that had been boarded up with plywood. There were no existing windows there, only openings, so it was on my priority list to have some windows installed. I went to a small home show and got some names of window replacement people. One of them was Renewal by Andersen, and there was another company that came out, but they were a no go.
From the beginning, the other company was not comfortable with building a window with no existing window there, so that went by the wayside. Renewal was next, and when I explained to them what had happened with the other company, they said, “I really think we need to connect you with Andersen Windows directly. Not Renewal.” I said. “Okay. Who can you help me out with?” They referred me to a contractor out of Willoughby, Lakeview Builders.
The Andersen people were so helpful and so simple when they called me and their price was less expensive than the other quote I had gotten. Lakeview Builders came down and measured. They are one of the preferred contractors or they know Andersen Windows well enough, like Andersen will sell to them for installation. I purchased the windows through them, and they did the installation which was just completed in mid august. I love my windows.

We were doing a remodel. I knew windows had to be part of it. I was suggesting a different brand. The builder said,, "I wouldn't recommend that brand. I'd go with Andersen. That's what we normally install.” He gave us some reasons why we should select these Andersen Windows.
I explained to him, "Well, our house is 25 years old. It had Andersen Windows originally installed. And now they're falling apart, literally rotting." Why should I go back to a product that's rotting and falling apart after 25 years? He explained that the windows that were originally installed were just the builder-grade windows, and that we'd be doing a one step up. They have a much longer warranty. He convinced me that they would last for the length we'd own the house. And I said okay
They have been installed. The install went well. I didn't have any problems with that. They were molded nicely at the factory. They're good windows. We have dual hung windows and I had to take them out so that drywall could be hoisted through the second-floor bedroom .It was easy to do. It seems there was less error prone and prone to breakage than the previous windows were. So, tThey're good quality.

Andersen Windows sent me to Avana because they use Avana at the location I'm in. The lady that came from Avana to show me the Andersen Windows was very good and nice . She explained everything well.
The turnaround time was about eight weeks. There was one window that was wrong that they put in. So, I'm waiting probably another eight weeks for that window to get replaced. It's in the bathroom. And it's supposed to be an obscure coating window in the bathroom. And it was just a clear window that was put in. She apologized and said it was the factory that did it wrong. She had it correctly on her papers just like I had mine. And she said that they’'ll get it ordered for me. So, I'm waiting. I'm sure I'll hear from them when it comes in.
The price was more than what I wanted to spend. But I understand you gotta pay for quality. I would highly recommend them to anyone. They have gone above and beyond. When we first took a look at the sliding door, it was probably around the February time frame. We ordered the door and gave them a down payment. It took a couple months before we finally got it. But the contractor was busy too. They finally got the door and they came out and did the install.
At first, the installation went well until they found out that the door was damaged on top. They finished doing the whole thing and they said they were going to reorder it. I didn't hear anything back for about a week. I reached out and he said it should be here at the end of August. So, right now we're just waiting. He said that because they were the installer and only get paid once to do it, and since it's a warranty problem, somebody else would come out and do it. We didn’t want that. They did a really good job and they're very clean and very thorough.
It looks like it's a really nice product. From what we can see, as far as the warranty and everything else on the product itself, it's just as good as anybody else's. So, I would recommend it.

We were really happy with our experience, and the windows are great quality. They were reasonably priced compared to some others. There was a great selection within different price ranges. We ended up getting the E series
But we finished half of our house with Renewal by Andersen and those are definitely on the pricier side, so we were looking to save a little bit of money, and so we got the E series. They matched the Terratone color for us. So far they've been really great and they match really well even though they're not exactly the same windows. They're both Andersen, but one of them is wood and the Renewal by Andersen is a composite.
It took them 5 days for all of our windows, including taking out the old windows and installing the new ones and doing all of the outside work to make sure that the edging was on there and everything was sealed properly. There were three people working. Our windows are kind of wonky in that it's a really old house, so they did the best that they could considering we have a 100-year-old house where things have settled and there's not exactly 90-degree angles on all of the windows. Love the option of the dual slider window. I purchased locks with an allen wrench set screw but the wide track is not compatible, pops right off when window slams against it.
Another complaint is that the salesman could have warned me of this. When I called the tech dept, I was told no one has ever brought this to their attention. Also, being so excited about the dual sliders, I didn't think if I really needed for all my windows, like small kitchen window. Salesman should be helpful in my decision making, not just about the $$ bottom line. I called once again about the possibility of an exchange of my front window, to a single slider due to security, but basically was a "You got to be kidding" response. I visited Andersen Windows' website and found an authorized installer, making the decision process straightforward. I only needed one balcony door, and while the installation was outstanding, the experience with the screen I ordered with it was less so—the screen sent just didn't work. Moreover, a week after installation, a piece of wood on the door cracked off. It was about a seven-inch piece along the edge. Despite speaking with Andersen, they did not cover it under warranty, but the installer is expected to return to fix it with wood filler and repaint, although that hasn't happened yet.
I still feel able to recommend them overall. The initial impression after installation—aside from the screen issue—was that the door looked beautiful. And while the crack in the wood surprised me, I would still share that the experience with Andersen was generally positive.

One of the significant factors that persuaded me to choose Andersen was the enticing discounts they offered per window. The windows themselves are beautiful and I'm thoroughly impressed with their quality. Initially, I had a concern about being able to wash both sides easily, a feature I'd enjoyed with my previous windows. However, I soon learned from my contractor that these windows do, in fact, have a similar function but with a notably different mechanism. Once I got the hang of it, everything worked perfectly. I’d definitely recommend Andersen Windows.

Andersen windows are known for their efficient insulation, and I have noticed that there is minimal heat loss and gain, visible through my camera. I decided to install around 20 windows over the past few years, focusing only on windows without doors.
The installation process was satisfactory; the contractor treated the property with respect, even though it wasn't directly handled by Andersen but through a certified installer. In terms of performance, the windows do a good job of blocking outside noise, and overall, I'm pleased with their functionality.
The only downside I found was the pricing, which I felt was a bit steep for what was offered, especially since I didn't have extensive communication with Andersen directly. My initial contact regarding product information was through my architect, as opposed to dealing with a sales representative. This limited my personal interaction with Andersen's customer service.
If asked, I would rate my experience as decent. The windows perform well, but the cost was higher than expected. Despite this, the quality holds up, and I'm content with the results after installation.

I live in a condo and due to a board decision, I ended up with Andersen Windows even though I was initially hesitant about the price. The product is relatively new and it’s been good. My only confusion was with the warranty process, as I was initially informed by the installer that it had been submitted, but then I received a follow-up email requesting more information. To this day, I'm assuming everything is now in order. All things considered, I'd confidently give them a 4 out of 5, reflecting the satisfactory quality of the windows even though their pricing didn’t fully align with my expectations.

Initially, I wanted black vinyl windows for my home and my husband drove around to various places searching for them. We found a company that claimed to offer black windows, but they turned out to be white windows painted black. Issues soon arose as spots appeared, which weren't stickers as initially thought, exposing the paint. This led to a frustrating experience with the company, as they refused to reimburse us for the windows since they misrepresented them as black vinyl.
While searching for a resolution, we turned to Home Depot and discovered Andersen Windows, which offered the authentic black windows we wanted without any deceptive practices. Now that we have the Andersen Windows installed, I can say we love them. They truly match our expectations and have proven to be exactly what we were looking for. I'm entirely satisfied with their service and I’d confidently give them a top score based on our whole experience.

I went with Andersen Windows because they are well known as being one of the very best. We had to replace our windows because we are on the top of a hill, and wind had battered them. So, one part had rotted in the middle of one of the windows. They are wood on the inside and metal on the outside, and they had to match our siding. So, that’s why I picked them. They looked good with what we already had.
Quality seems excellent. But our son that used to sleep upstairs always would say our other windows were not good. He’s coming next week and he will probably be a good judge and say, “Oh, these are so much better.” A friend was thinking about windows, and I have recommended them.

I was replacing windows, and the existing windows were Andersen's. After getting quotes from Andersen and Pella, Andersen was less money than Pella, and it was the better product, so I got what I paid for and I’m comfortable with that. The presentation was excellent. He knew the product, did preliminary measurements, showed me what I was gonna get, and that's what I got. The installers were quick to get the old windows out and install the new ones. Everything went well until they pulled out the aluminum trim that goes around the edge and found out that we didn't have the correct color. So, there was a three-week delay in finishing the project, but I had new windows in the meantime, and they came back to straighten it out. I did have a little issue with some caulking the installers did, but it has nothing to do with Andersen and we’re still working on that. Other than that, it was fairly painless. We bought a house with custom-designed Andersen windows. They're Palladian windows with the round tops. After 20 years, the window seals had gone because of age. With that, we had condensation between the panes. I decided to replace them with an exact match, the same Andersen windows.
The Andersen-certified company told me that the installation would take two days. The installation would be one day and putting the final seal and the caulking would be another day. It worked out exactly like that. It was a difficult installation because of the way the house is built. They had to put up a scaffolding because the windows are on the second floor and the room has a 20-foot ceiling.
We have about 40 Andersen windows in the house, and they’re all wonderful and work well. Andersen makes an excellent product. The company did a beautiful job, and the windows look fine so far. If there’s ever any other window that need replacement or anything like that, I would be calling them.

Warning: Do Not Purchase Andersen Doors. The doors we received were significantly different from what was advertised on Andersen’s website. When placing the order, the sill appeared to be a very dark gray—almost black—matching the black door. However, what we actually received was a much lighter, cheap-looking gray sill that does not match at all. Despite spending over $37,000, Andersen has refused to acknowledge the discrepancy or take responsibility for the issue, they offered no real support regarding the defective components. We’ve attached a photo from their website alongside an image of what we received—please take a look and judge the difference for yourself. It's substantial. Buyer beware.
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry we did not meet your expectations regarding the sill color on your 100 Series gliding patio door, and we understand how frustrating it can be when expectations don't align with the final product.
We want to clarify that the 100 Series gliding patio door sill is only offered with one sill option, which is a neutral grey color. While online images are intended to be as accurate as possible, actual product apperanace may vary due to lighting, screen settings, and the contrast between door finishes. For reference, the sill color can be found on our website under the 100 Series product guides, where a photo shows the neutral gray paired next to a darker panel finish.
We appreciate you sharing your concerns. While we regret that the sill did not meet your expectations, we can confirm that the product received is within the current design specifications for the 100 Series product line.

We purchased a home with Andersen windows and doors last August. I wanted to learn about warranty details because one of the doors leaks when it rains. They quoted me $700 to come out and “tune up” the doors which were installed within the last four years. Of course, a few months later, one of the door handles just completely came off. You would expect that with such a “superior” product, you would also get high-end support. If something breaks, you have to help them identify the piece over the phone. Apparently they don’t just have a service where a technician can come out and assist you. You would think that if companies that provide dining tables are willing to do that, companies that provide products that are imperative to your home’s safety and function could also include such a service.
Safe to say, we have called them three times and every time they have sent us the wrong parts to fix our door. I have Google image searched the part, and because they are so close to the chest about their products, you cannot just locate and purchase a replacement. But I argue you also shouldn’t have to - especially when your door is under warranty. Things happen, parts break - but Andersen seems to rely too heavily on things not going wrong. And when things do, they really drop the ball. There’s no problem with believing that your company provides a high quality product and standing by it - but you can’t call yourself a high quality company without accounting for the moments that your product fails.

I am mostly pleased with my experience with Andersen Windows. I live in Shreveport, Louisiana, and after seeing several window companies on television, I was drawn to Andersen. I wanted a large, almost 6-foot square solid glass window to replace our old one with many panes, and Andersen delivered on this. The window was custom-made and installed, and it looks fantastic.
The contractor who came out was very professional and did a good job of explaining the construction and installation process of Andersen Windows, which left me satisfied and ready to proceed with the project.
During the installation, however, there was one issue. I have an older security system in my home, which I was considering replacing, and the installation team inadvertently cut all the wiring for it. While this pushed me to upgrade to a new ADT security system, which has been working well, it was an additional expense I hadn't planned for at the time. That was the only disappointment in the process, but ultimately, the upgrade was beneficial.
The new window, a large picture window, cost around $1500, with an additional $500 for installation. Overall, I would rate my experience with Andersen as 5 stars for product quality, and 4 stars for service, mainly due to the oversight with the security system. Despite this, the team's explanation and workmanship were commendable, and the installation itself was well executed.

Andersen Windows offered the best value at a competitive price; they weren't the cheapest, but they provided excellent value for the cost. I had their contractor install windows in my 4 Seasons room, doing two walls of windows and adding a door that resembles a patio door but is full-length from floor to ceiling on one of the walls. The Andersen certified contractors were great. Although the windows came about a week and a half later than initially projected, I understood, given the high demand before winter.
The interaction with the contractors was positive—they were professional and courteous, cleaned up thoroughly, and even washed the windows, which was a nice touch. The quality of the windows is impressive; they provide excellent insulation, making the room significantly more comfortable without much heat. If a friend asked, I would definitely recommend Andersen Windows.
My overall experience with Andersen was very positive. They are professional and value-driven, and their team was incredibly helpful and respectful. The customer service, product coverage, and price all deserve top marks. Even the sales team was low-key and confident without being pushy, which I appreciated. I recently had the experience of replacing some windows and doors with Andersen Windows. Initially, I sought Andersen because the previous windows I had, which needed replacement, were also from Andersen. They were a key feature in the room, and I wanted something similar to match. I replaced a pair of French doors, two fixed-pane windows, and other windows situated above these doors.
The process has been ongoing since spring, and while almost complete, there is still one outstanding issue due to waiting on a part from Andersen. My overall satisfaction with the work isn't very high because of the prior issues with the original Andersen products. The external cladding on the previous windows delaminated, leading to water leaks and a significant black mold problem. This required remediation and replacement of the windows and doors themselves.
I found Andersen Windows to be exceedingly expensive, and unfortunately, the selection was driven more by the need to match the existing look than the quality I had hoped for. Although I encountered a challenge matching a sliding screen door with the rest of the assembly, my contractor creatively modified the parts we received, which wasn't an exact match.
Given these circumstances, if I had to rate my experience overall, I would give it a 3 out of 5. My experience was not good with the product over time. The warranty period didn't support replacement when the product failed, which was disappointing. The warranty period was just a little bit short of the time that it took for the door to decompose. But there was no avenue for requesting that in the supply chain. When I did order the parts that were closest to the ones I needed to replace, it took a couple of months to receive them. Despite these challenges, I appreciate my contractor's responsiveness in managing the situation.

We built a new home in February 2024 in which the builder installed Andersen 100 series windows. From the first day we moved in, we experienced extreme temperature variations between rooms. With outside temperatures below 25, some rooms were 60 degrees. In summer with outside temperatures over 90, some rooms were 80 degrees. The thermostat remains set at 70 degrees. After thorough investigation with an infrared temperature gun and thermometers, the windows turned out to be the source of the problem. We contacted the builder, and they found no issues with installation and told us they have installed these windows in other houses with no prior complaints.
After numerous calls to Andersen Customer Service, my case was escalated to a supervisor who reluctantly agreed to send a representative out to inspect the windows. He only performed a visual inspection of the inside and outside of the windows and said he found no problem. No tests were done to see if the windows met manufacturing specifications. The representative also stated that was the best I could expect out of Andersen 100 series windows.
These windows are manufactured with Low-E glass and are Argon gas filled and are Energy Star Certified. Is this normal performance for an Andersen 100-series window or are my windows defective? Does Andersen really market and sell windows that are this low a quality for new construction home? There’s an undeniable problem, but Andersen is not willing to acknowledge the possibility of the windows being at fault. To make matters worse, they refuse to work with customers to reach a resolution to the problem. We are left with one option: replace all the windows in a 9-month-old house. When we moved to a new location in New York and added an extension, we opted for Andersen again due to our past satisfaction. This time, we purchased six small square awning windows, a couple of rectangular casement windows, and three French patio doors. We've found the overall quality of Andersen's products to be good. Although we haven't compared them to other brands like Pella, we've remained content with Andersen's offerings.
There were minor design issues, like the screen door handle occasionally interfering with the handle of the slider. We also noticed some ice buildup between the glass and wood of the slider when temperatures dropped to -10 to -15 degrees. The only real issue arose from the installation of the French doors; the contractor did a subpar job, though it wasn't Andersen’s fault. However, Andersen later recommended someone to fix the problems, and we had trouble getting a lock sorted out due to the initial contractor. I've always heard about Andersen Windows being very high-quality windows, so when the time came, that's what I wanted. We purchased six double hung sash windows with decorative grills in wood. They were being built so it took some months from purchase to installation. The salesman was a great guy from Preston Windows and the people with him were also great, so we were happy.
Everything went well on installation day. The people were very nice and the quality of work was good. The openings were prepared by my contractor and they put the windows in. Andersen did not send the grills initially and the salesman did not know why there were no grills. He had placed the order in. He had to reorder them so that was another delay but that was not his fault. People should go through Preston Windows first because the salesman is the owner of the company and a large part of how pleasant and well the experience went. The windows are wonderful and I like them.

I've known about Andersen for years and when we were looking to replace a patio door, I talked to Renewal by Andersen and to a local contractor who's a certified Andersen dealer. Several different products were offered but the Andersen seemed like the best fit. We liked the looks of it and the price was right, so that's what we went with. The patio door is what we wanted -- one side is fixed and the other side opens in a French door sort of configuration with just one side operational. It's got a sliding screen on the outside and that configuration enables that. Everything appears to be the highest quality, including the frame and the glass, and the hardware fits good.

We installed Andersen Series 100 Fibrex windows three years ago. 3 of the windows have had extension horizontal cracking in the sashes and the glazing beads have all come off. Andersen sent a rep out and they said it was an installation problem. We went round and round and they finally said they would sent us 3 new windows which did not help because we have stucco and would have to tear apart the whole back of our house. Fast forward we settled on having Renewal by Andersen (a separate company from Andersen) replace our windows at our cost ($11,000)! They did a fantastic job. The guy who torn the windows out found water inside two of the windows. He said the water had come in from the cracks in the sashes and the glazing beads and it wasn't an installation problem but a product failure. Beware of using Andersen Windows.

The salesman told me that the Andersen windows would make 80% difference in my bill. I thought that was outrageous to say that, but that was what he said. Since we've had this really cold weather, my house has been cold. It was gonna be cold before I got these windows, but it's still cold. Across my dining area at the back of the house, it's just solid glass panes all across there, not windows that would raise. So, the Andersen windows made it kind of cold in the house. I remembered quickly reading an email that I needed to fill out concerning the warranty on the windows. But when I went back later, I looked for it and I was unable to find it. I am hoping there's some kind of warranty on the windows with what they cost.

Disappointed doesn’t begin to express my feelings about Andersen. Disgusted is more appropriate. My wife and I were both encouraged by a couple contractors (including the one we chose) to go with Andersen 100s for our new home build. I later found out that builders like this series due to their ease of installation. Unfortunately, that doesn’t shake out well for the homeowner.
We’ve have had nothing but problems with these windows since they were installed. They’re extremely difficult to open. My wife can’t even open a couple where she has to reach over our kitchen counters. When the windows open and close, you hear springs and rattling and the window doesn’t glide smoothly in the tracks. They operate and sound like the old aluminum windows of the 70’s and 80’s. Keep in mind, we dropped tens of thousands of dollars $$$ on these things.
We had an Andersen tech come out (after months) to meet with our contractor and verify that the windows were installed properly, which he did verify. He changed out some components, which helped a little, but operation is still far too difficult and clumsy for a window of this price. We installed some cheap, no-name vinyl windows in our last house that were 10x better at a fraction of the price.
Now for the doors. We live on a hilltop and installed sliding glass doors at the back and French doors at the front to take advantage of our views. I’ll start with the double French doors. The inside is a black, semi-solid stain and it looks like the finish was applied with tractor tires. Absolutely horrendous. Both the customer service rep and the tech agreed that the finish was awful. New doors were ordered to replace them and the tech wouldn’t even install them when he arrived because the finish was even worse on this replacement set, and there were gouges and scrapes in several areas. I’ll probably end up having to refinish them myself if I want it to look half decent. SMH.
The sliding glass doors at the back are even worse. The handles and latches are loose and flimsy. If you don’t slam the doors closed, the latch won’t catch. One of the sliders in our master bedroom didn’t have the appropriate weather stripping between the fixed and sliding panels. The door would whistle as cold air blew into our bedroom and it sounded like we were sleeping with our windows open. I had to stuff pieces of foam between the panels to silence the noise, stop air from coming in, and heating or A/C from going out. The tech eventually came out to fix this, which worked for a couple months then it started happening again.
In our living room, we have double sliders that come together. One of the doors constantly sticks to where I struggle opening it (I am a very fit person) and my kid can’t get it to budge. Beyond requiring a herculean effort to operate them, the doors require substantial effort to keep them together while latching the lock. These are our main route onto our deck and into our home and every time I go out it reminds me how much money we wasted on these things. Due to the size, these sliders were EXTREMELY expensive. We’ve had Andersen and our contractor try to make them operate better. It works for a period, then they start sticking again.
In closing, I’d advise you not to be fooled by the name. Andersen may have been a quality company at one point, but our experience is firsthand proof that’s no longer the case. I wish we would have saved thousands upon thousands of dollars and just gone with cheaper vinyl windows. And don’t let your contractor sway you. They love these because they’re easier and faster to install, not because they provide a good user experience.
I will say the customer service rep I’ve worked with has been pleasant and has tried to help, but every tech visit takes months and nothing really improves. Changing a few components and tightening a few screws doesn’t make up for a VERY POORLY CONSTRUCTED product. STAY AWAY FROM ANDERSEN 100s!

My experience with Andersen has been largely positive. Initially, my contractor recommended Andersen, which is why I decided to choose them. We got four windows and two custom doors from them. The process was done in two phases; the first one happened about two years ago and had a lead time of 15 weeks, while the recent one had a much shorter lead time of just six weeks.
The installation process went smoothly, and the work was done well. I am satisfied with the windows. However, I've noticed an issue with one of the doors, which seems to let in more air compared to the ones they replaced. I believe this might be a design issue, and I plan to discuss it with my contractor to see if it can be addressed with Andersen.
Overall, I'm happy with the product and would rate Andersen highly. I would certainly recommend them to friends and neighbors.

My mom was thrilled with the new windows—especially since the old ones were about 50-60 years old. I purchased a sliding glass door from Anderson Windows to replace an old unit leading to our indoor deck. The process required removing a baseboard heater under the door, and Andersen Windows was chosen to fulfill our need for a new door that reached the floor.
We have two such doors, but due to the cost involved—especially the need for a plumbing contractor to adjust the heating system—we opted to replace just one at this time. The overall quality of the installation and product has been satisfactory. The contractor did an excellent job, was attentive, and involved me in the process. However, there was a notable issue: the new sliding door wasn't as wide as the original Andersen door. Consequently, the installation required narrowing the rough opening, which reduced our glass viewing area by about 10 to 11 inches. This loss of outside view space was disappointing, particularly because, in a condo, maximizing natural light and views is essential.
Although I was pleased with the contractor's work and the quality of the new door, I was disappointed to learn that Andersen no longer manufactures the original size. This necessitated changes in the door frame and trim, impacting the overall outcome. Despite these setbacks, I would still recommend Andersen Windows for their reputation and product quality. However, I feel it's important to note these aspects for anyone considering a similar project.

I had a positive experience with Andersen Windows. We had Andersen windows in our house when we bought it, and when we decided to add two new windows, we wanted them to match the rest of the home. We had two tiny small slit windows against the living room wall that looks out into the garden and they get the most amount of sun. We wanted to bring those windows all the way down and match them to a set of three large windows that are in the same room, but look into a covered patio so they don't provide a view or light. Enlarging the two small windows in our living room brought in light and a view into the room.
Initially, we were given a timeline of 6 to 8 weeks, and everything was completed on the shorter side, which was great. However, I encountered a minor issue with communication, as I had to reach out to Andersen a few times to get the local representative to respond to me. Working with Andersen as well as with the individual person was fine, but I had to follow up on the communication between the two to get back to me. This resulted in a delay of about 5 weeks with where should I go to locally to have the work done, and then the company realizing they hadn't reached out to me.
Overall, I rate my experience as a 4.5 out of 5, mainly because of the need to follow up a few times. Despite this, the quality of the windows is fantastic, and I find them to be reliable. I would recommend Andersen Windows to others based on my experience.

Andersen offered the type of window I wanted: wooden with aluminum cladding on the outside. Our contractor recommended them as they're certified to install Andersen products. The process began with the contractor which was fine because they were well-prepared with all the necessary information and materials.
The installation experience was impressive. The team stripped the siding and cladding, carefully sealed everything, and completed the installation in just one day, even in winter. They meticulously taped and caulked all the seams, ensuring an efficient installation process.
Regarding the quality of the Andersen windows, I am genuinely impressed. The construction and materials are robust, significantly improving the insulation in our home. They seal nicely. They have a double latch and the way the windows go in and out is standard, but it's pretty effective. During a cold snap, the new windows were about 5 degrees warmer than the old ones, indicating reduced heat loss.
Overall, I highly recommend both the contractor and Andersen Windows. The only downside was the delay due to the high demand, which extended the project by about two months. Pricing wise, it was on the higher side, but given the quality and service, I would rate the overall experience a 4 out of 5.

I had a window in my dining area that had an arch at the top, a half-moon at the top, and then two regular twin windows below it. They were also enormous in size. They were 12 feet tall and 8 feet wide. They had to custom-make the frame. I ordered the frame and everything from Andersen, which made it easier to install them. Another thing that made the installation a little longer was it rained for two weeks solid during the time. It was one of the things that nobody can control. The contractors were very, very knowledgeable. The only thing that would benefit the company is if they had more people that worked as hard as they do. They came by twice to check on things. So, that was nice too.

There was a little bit of discrepancy on what I thought I was getting and what I actually got, but it worked out okay. I wanted it to match the etched glass that I have in my other windows, which were Andersen, but they don't make that style anymore. So I had to go with the plastic grates instead of the actual etched glass. That was fine. The guys that installed the window were absolutely fantastic. It's too high-priced. But other than that, I've been pretty satisfied with them.

If there was a fire in the house and you had to get out, you couldn't get out that door 'cause that lock won't turn. I had called him but he hasn't come back for this new lock. Also, the blinds don't close completely but he said that's just the way the blinds are. If they design them again, they should make sure that it closed completely, that there's no space between the blinds. Otherwise, I like the doors from Andersen. They're nice and I'm happy with them. But the one that sold us the window was rude. Also, a window was not available so it was a month or two in back order. It was a little too expensive too. I bought eight Andersen windows and one storm door, which has not been put on yet. The one they ordered was the wrong size. They tried to install it in September but it was 2 inches too short. The windows were installed in September as well. They're nice but they have a repair problem. I uploaded a video and sent it to the contractor but it still hasn't been addressed. It has been very difficult contacting someone.
When I turn the crank, it opens with great difficulty, which is scary ‘cause I don't want it to pop. Then when you pull the lever, there was a plastic sheath that came right off. There's a warranty but it only lasts for two years. My concern is that if this gets dragged out a long time, then eventually, it won't be covered. I'm frightened about it because I paid for the windows in full. It's been a really bitter experience with this contractor. I don't think they care because I paid in full.
I spend a lot of time all day long looking at the window and worrying if I got chips because they had to rip out the entire wall. It's a three-panel window with two small ones on the side and a picture window in the middle. If the whole thing has to be replaced, I'm gonna lose it. It's my hope that it can be repaired as it is. I did it because my neighbor got windows from Andersen, and he highly recommended the process. It went very well for him. But in my case, it's been nothing but headaches.

We like the A-Series window from Andersen and we like the fact that it’s the combo fiberglass exterior, ‘cause we live in an older home. Our previous windows were wood and we had to keep replacing the wood because it deteriorates over time. We like the style of the A-Series windows a lot. We had done a previous remodel and had Andersen put into that remodel, and we want it to match the rest of the house with the same window. We did it in combination with re-siding and doing sidewall insulation. It all came together as a package. We really like the style of these windows. When we looked at the other windows with all the vinyl, these just look so much better. We like the top-down/bottom-up feature and the true screens for visibility. However, I would encourage them to step up their quality control. There are some defects in the windows that we've had to learn to live with.

The 200s are very good quality, but there were some sharp edges that would have been more smooth. Typically, if I have a sharp edge on something, I normally run a plane then just sand that down. So I don't know if that's possible, but that’s one of the things that jumped out at me. Otherwise, we love our windows. They open really well and are easy to clean. They make good products, but their contractor was a month late and I felt like I got cheated by him. When he installed the doors, he changed the estimate a little bit on the order because I didn't get a jamb extension kit. He said the doors opened in 180, but they only opened in 95 because they made their own wood jamb extension on the inside of the door. That door should be flush with the wall at the inside the house, but it's not. My hinges are recessed inside my door opening about 2 inches because they were short and did not use the jamb extension like they were supposed to.
When I confronted him about the jamb extension, he said they didn't order one. But we talked about it and I showed him the estimate that he gave me where it was stated that we ordered the 4400 series with the jamb extension. But he deleted things out of it so I couldn’t go back and point it out. It makes me feel like they took shortcuts and they did not install the doors correctly. Plus, I never got my warranty thing which he was supposed to email me. So, I don’t know if the doors are warrantied. And after all is said and done, my warranty is going to be voided because the installer did not use a jamb extension like he should have. I called Andersen about it and they said it was just one of those deals where once they contractor gets paid, you can't get him to come back. It is what it is. Andersen Windows + Doors@Andersencorp.com. My wife and I purchased Andersen E Series windows and last month had them installed throughout our house. Our E Series windows are double hung, aluminum exterior, stained wood interior. I wish I could say the windows’ quality is what we had hoped for. Issues with the windows include: split and checked wood, outside daylight showing through sash joints, raised and porous wood grain to the point it is very rough to the touch and difficult to clean, inadequate filling of nail and staple joints, and a stain color that is nowhere close to the sample provided. The only thing more disappointing than the quality of the windows is Andersen Corporation’s Senior Field Service Manager’s response when he came on Aug. 6, 2024, and inspected the windows.
The Service Manager acknowledged the rough finish on the windows and the raised grain. The service manager’s suggested fix was replacing the sashes only, with unfinished sashes to be stained the correct color, but leaving the rough finished wrong color frames which won’t match the new sashes. The Service Manager apologized that the solution he is offering is incomplete. The last communication I received from the Service Manager was on Aug. 7, 2024. We went to showrooms and talked to previous customers before ordering these windows. I understand sometimes things go wrong. At those times it is very important to know how these problems are addressed and rectified.
Please forward to your friends. If you, a family member, or a friend is in the process of looking at Andersen windows, message me and I will set up a time for you to take a look at the windows they have sold us. They are not the showroom pretty samples they parade out to their customers. Our windows are what Andersen’s quality control allows to be sent out to its customers. Come to our house, inspect for yourself before committing. Our window package installed was $48,000+. I expected more from Andersen than an incomplete solution. I am not going to load up every single picture, but here are a few pictures of Andersen windows and doors quality, and rough, porous factory finish on their E series windows. This is what $48,000+ will get you. #windows
