Was sold something over the phone that I did not receive. The alarm tech mounted the panel and then tried selling me a $3000.00 alarm system after I was sold something completely different over the phone. The alarm tech also left sheet rock dust all over my trim and floor. After calling customer service they were able to help me out.

Terrible customer service. Canceled service after 10 years due to continued increasing rates. They continued to bill me for an additional 3 months after cancellation. Agent was rude and not helpful with resolving issue. Spoke to manager who was polite but would not issue a refund. Actually had two different homes with their service for 10 years each (20 years combined) and they could not / would not issue a credit for 3 months. Very disappointed. Happy that I canceled and will not have to deal with them in the future.

I responded to a mailing from an ADT dealer in my area because of a special rate offered. I was disappointed that the rate was not available to me because the technician could not connect to my phone line (even though my existing system had been connected). As a consequence, I am paying more than I expected to pay. I did get new equipment, but it does not seem as sophisticated as the equipment that was replaced. My technician was very capable and courteous. I am disappointed that I have been left with the unpleasant and labor intensive chore of removing all of the old sensors.

To add to ADT overall Satisfaction Rating of 1 star, when we changed the company alarm services to Protection One the ADT was contacted to close the account. After receiving the renewal bill for this year, the ADT was advised again that they were not servicing us for the past 5 months. This time they ask to resubmit the cancellation letter via fax in order to close the account (since we refused to pay the renewal). Month later they billed us for another 2 months of no services, stating that the cancellation just took place. They will get their final payment, the payment for not dealing with ADT any longer.

We initially installed another provider but despite multiple phone calls and visits, they were unable to address our problems satisfactorily. We called ADT, who provided our home security before we moved in 2014, and the order was placed with a very knowledgeable and helpful agent who got us just the services we wanted and the install took place just a few days later. The installer was equally knowledgeable and helpful and we could not be more pleased with the experience or the system. I just think ADT is the very best!

I am extremely dissatisfied with this provider. I received an offer in the mail for 27/month and 15 free sensors. Then when they get there the bill ends up being 54/month and nothing is free. They didn't seem to understand I couldn't afford all of their recommendations and when I asked what we could to do to get the price lower the technician was rude and informed me, "He's done nothing but help me since he got here." THEN I was told I would not be charged for service until the end of the month however I was charged for TWO months the very next day. I called and had them cancel the service and get their system out of my house. I am still waiting for all of my money to be refunded.

When I initially called, I received great customer service. However, I was not informed that my credit would be run. When the technician came to my home, he would not take no for an answer. I purchased wireless equipment when I had the same wired equipment, which I asked to keep. The bill was prorated, which I was not informed of.

First of all, I am not even an ADT customer, but my experience with them was so horrible, I figured I'd warn others. I recently moved into my home about 3 months ago. My house came with an ADT system however it is not currently hooked up. I received numerous mailings from ADT advertising "free two months for your the system that's already installed". I hadn't made a decision whether or not to hook up the system as it was not a priority.
I was eating dinner at 7:30 one night and a woman rang my doorbell and claimed she was from ADT and wanted to talk to me about signing up for the service. I tried to tell her politely that it wasn't a good time but I'd take her number and give her a call if I decided to sign up. Last night, the power in my house went out for a few minutes and when it got restored, I took my puppy outside and the alarm chirped when I opened the front door. I called the customer service number and explained that while I did not have an account, I needed to shut off the beeping. The rude man told me there was nothing he could do (he didn't even ask what system was actually installed) and told me to have an electrician remove the system.
I found the flyer with the cell phone number of the woman who randomly stopped by my house one night and called her cell phone. She actually answered at 11:30 at night. She told me she'd get right back to me about the problem as she had to contact a tech and have him come service the system. She called back about 20 minutes later and said she couldn't find my name in her records. That's correct as I do not have an account with ADT but she didn't bother to ask me that the first time I spoke with her. She told me the same thing. She didn't know what was wrong with the system and there was no way to fix it as we had not done business together. I found this amusing because this is an ADT product. She told me that the alarm would not go off as there was no service connected to it. I asked why the doors were chiming and she had no response. Because I wasn't paying for a service, it shouldn't be beeping.
After another 10 minutes back and forth, she rudely told me she had gone out of her way to answer the phone and was trying to help me. She also informed me that she didn't actually work for ADT. How does that make sense? She was trying to sell me an ADT product and the flyer has her name on it??? She and the company did not do anything to help me. I informed her that after all of this, I certainly would NOT be doing business with ADT. Once we got off of the phone, I looked at my doors. On my front door and garage door there were two small plastic boxes. So I took them off. They were held on with double sided tape. The beeping stopped. I fixed the door chime issue by myself. Good to know all the money people pay for alarm systems involve "security measures" held on by double sided tape.

I was offered a free month when I returned from a work trip. Didn't hear back for weeks. When I called again to schedule my set up, attempt #2, I was told that all my info had been erased yet they charged my CC for the first initial set up. Not to mention I did not receive a free month for the first tech calling in sick. When the second tech came out he was not very knowledgeable and had to call in many times to set up my alarm. He couldn't even explain certain buttons in my unit. I'm happy I am finally armed but the service has been a nightmare.

So I get a call from ADT, they said my service is going to be 37 a month. The dude who is supposed to show me the equipment and ask if I'm good with the plan is coming the next day. He shows up immediately, puts a hole in my wall and mounts the keypad without asking me, then we do the walkabout and turns out it's going to be 7 grand to do my house.
I'm pretty pissed then, so we say no and get 1 extra window for 200. Didn't go over the contract, told me "sign here" (on his tablet) that he installed and I was satisfied with the install, then "sign here" to verify that we tested alarm, and all that, then "sign here" for the monthly rate which showed 37. I get my bill and it's 100, not acceptable. I call and my bill will now be 50 a month but that still is not what I was told. The guy also said that I have 30 days to cancel my service and I was going to cancel but if I did then now it's gonna be 1700. This pissed me off. I don't know if I'm gonna cancel it and not pay it because at this point I really don't care. I feel like I've been scammed.

I signed up for ADT about a year ago, and have had a few problems that were resolved in a timely manner - until now. As the weather got cold, the keypads stopped working. The alarm is constantly being set off, causing police runs and a lot of inconvenience. Of course it takes two weeks between appointments, and nothing has been resolved. My own troubleshooting has convinced me that those cheap keypads don't work in cold weather. The foyer where it is located gets down to about 50 degrees overnight, which prevents the keys from functioning properly. Of course ADT never finds anything wrong, but as soon as the room warms up the keypads start working. Shame on ADT for using cheap made in China equipment.

Greg, the first tech to reinstall our alarm system, spent 6 hours in our house and did not finish installation. At the end he shoved a contract in front of my wife and did not show or disclose $600 worth of charges we did not approve. In fact he said it would only cost a $20 upgrade fee for a key fob when he charged us $149 each for two new fobs. He took the old ones which were working perfectly fine. I called Defender and told them we don't want him to ever come back. They sent a 2nd tech and he could not figure out what Greg had done to disconnect power to 3 wall alarm key pads in our new house. So he left without finishing installation.
In addition we had the hardware uninstalled by the same company in Houston and they told us the wall keypad would not be installed and we would have a new one in Arizona. The tech there pulled the keypad out of the wall leaving a hole in the sheet rock as well as two holes in the soffits where two external cameras were mounted. We had to submit 2 estimates for repair and they still have not confirmed receipt of those estimates. Add this to the fact that when we were first sold the ADT contract in Feb 2015 the sales person told us it would cost $500 for the hardware and when the contract arrived it was $5,500!
What a complete and total ripoff and misrepresentation. If these experiences were not real, I would not recount them. All I wanted was what was advertised since the attempted burglary of our Houston house in Feb last year. Now they are giving away sensors when you buy the ADT alarm product that we were forced to pay for a year ago. We are stuck in a 3 year contract that we cannot get out of and have a half installed alarm system with monitor/control panels that are only partially linked to the various sensors installed in our house. We have no cameras active and 5 cameras sitting around waiting for installation if ADT ever calls me back.

When I first set up the service the technician said I was getting into a 1-year contract, then now after 2 years I called to cancel my services and they informed me that I signed a 3-year contract and that if I want to cancel I will have to pay the rest of the months left in my contract. That is terrible because I even recommended the technician to my family members and now 3 more households are into 3-year contracts. I trusted that person to my home only to have him lie to my face. I will never ever do business with them again. (The 3-year term specification is actually on the little letters on the back of the contract.) Plus they keep raising the price as they wish.

Horrible product and service. I get a different answer from everybody I've talked to. I have a defective unit installed 2/1/16. I've called probably 12 times at least over the last week trying to get it fixed. Nobody offered to send somebody out to fix it until yesterday and they can't come until 2/13/16. One issue is that it doesn't warn you to enter your code sometimes when you walk through the door. The first person I spoke to about that said it was a known intermittent issue that should hopefully be resolved in the March software update, but the first supervisor I spoke to said that wasn't true and it's probably a problem with the device. Then the base unit keeps chiming for a battery issue, and every time it's reset I'm told it should be fixed. Supervisor said that was a lie too because it's probably a physical defect with the battery in the unit.
The supervisor I spoke to tonight said the only remaining option was to turn it off completely and wait 4 days for the technician. I said I wanted a technician to come out tomorrow, she transferred me to scheduling where I was on hold for 40 minutes, I asked to speak to a manager once I got somebody on the phone AND SHE HUNG UP ON ME AFTER I HAD WAITED 40 MINUTES. Already filed a complaint with BBB, really wish I could get out of the contract. Avoid. Like. The. Plague.

I am extremely disappointed with the dreadful customer service received. As a client that I am, I've been chasing ADT as my alarm system is faulty at the moment because of a poor initial assessment when advising the best location to install the device. I raised the issue several times. I've been waiting for more than 4 days (after reaching out to ADT daily, to receive a call back to advise who is going to come to solve my problem) 4 days to allocate a job, 4 days to return a call to an existing customer I believe is unacceptable. All I want is to understand when is the problem going to be resolved and to get it done. It's the first time in my life I going into a website to raise a complaint.

ADT likes to withhold information from you. I was not aware that if I moved, it would restart my 2 year contract. So I moved and boom, stuck under another 2 years. I was told "well, it's better than paying $200 to cancel your contract." So then I was under the assumption that the cancellation fee was $200. Now I have to move again. I have an awful landlord doing plenty of not very legal stuff. So I'm being forced out of my current residence. And the new place I'm moving into has a security system. So I called to cancel. I was informed I had to pay 75% of what was left, which was over $600!! I told them that I was misinformed about the cancellation fee. That one of THEIR PEOPLE told me $200. You basically get an "oh well, not our fault" on every inquiry.
The ONLY reason that I'm giving an extra star is because the lady who helped me, seemed to really want to work with me and managed to get me 50% off of my cancellation, due to my crummy circumstances, under which I have to move. However, that still leaves over $300. Which still sucks, when I have to pay a couple thousand to move, to get out of my situation. They have COMPLETE control over you when you sign. My recommendation? DON'T DO IT! Worst decision ever!

We move a lot and ADT renews your 3 year contract every time you move. You'll have to start over or in other words you can't get out of the contract. You must stay in one place in order to get out. The next is when the sales/ installer comes to your house they will try to install the base system i.e. battery and keypad before they talk further about what you really need. It's called jamming the customer in the car business.
My last home they sent two guys out to do the install which was quite strange and wanted to charge 4200.00 and I said "no way". Finally it came down to 1800.00. By then I was so irritated with them I told them to get out. Then the one installer became angry because I wouldn't go along with their stupidity and went out and slammed the door and the other guy said he's going through a bad divorce. Not my problem. They didn't show up for the install. After an hour on the phone and threatening to not even have the alarm, they sent one of their night crew. All he did was complain about having to be there in the evening and he did a half ** install job. We needed two more visits, which included me taking time out of work before the install was right. Recently, we made a service appointment for a bad sensor. It took 30 minutes on the phone to make the appointment and I told them I couldn't be home prior to 3:30. When they didn't show up, it took me another 40 minutes on hold and transferred to 3 people to tell me they had come at 12:30. They said I could make another appointment during working hours with a 5 hour window. I explained that WORK for a living and needed the appointment after 3:30.
After another hour on the phone and another 3 or 4 people, their final solution was to send someone that night but if the job took more than an hour, I would have to pay for the "emergency call". I explained to them that THEY created an emergency by not showing up and not being able to give me an appointment after 3:30 or on a Saturday. They didn't care and weren't going to budge so I canceled my service. He said I had to be on hold again to cancel the service. I waited 15 minutes and then hung up and simply canceled payment through the bank.

I called to start ADT services and spoke to a very friendly and comforting representative who I discussed with why I was needing to start services (Feb.3rd). I informed him of a bad roommate situation that my boyfriend and I were having and that we no longer felt safe or comfortable in our home and needed ADT set up as soon as possible. He then informed me that due to the situation he had someone available that day, but then he quickly realized after review that no one was available after all (1st cancellation). He then informed me that he had a technician available the next day (Feb. 4th), which I informed him that I was not off work til 5. He said this would be even better because I would be the last call of the day, so I would fit perfectly around 5:30 just in case the tech was running late. The next day I got a call of cancellation due to your tech was too busy (2nd cancellation)...
We made an appt. for the day after that (Feb. 5th) between 2 or 3 p.m. I worked all my plans around this, and get a call at 1 p.m. saying now your tech is sick and we can reschedule for the now "4th" day in a row (3rd cancellation). Is this how ADT does business?! If so I believe they should ALL be ashamed of themselves. When my existing alarm company raised my rates without so much as a courtesy call, and I received a timely brochure from ADT that was $27.99 per month with 3 year contract, I said what the heck since it was going to save me money and I had heard of ADT. I called and scheduled an appointment. The installer was courteous and on time. He proceeded to walk around the house and then presented me with a list of recommended products and a price tag of over $4k. I looked at him and said, not happening and explained to him why I was changing alarm companies. I wanted the $27.99 system installed. He said ok and started but then came back and asked me if I really wanted a wired system and that it would be better with a cellular system. I asked him how much that was and he said $48.99/mo. Told him that was more than I was currently paying and referred him back to our initial conversation on why I was changing companies - so wire it is.
A few minutes goes by and he comes back and says that he spoke with someone at his company and said that he was able to get the price down to $38 for cellular. I thought about it and said ok since it was what I was paying before my other company raised their rates. Then he showed me the equipment and mentioned one motion detector. I said I currently had two installed and how much was the extra sensor. He said $200 something. I told him to call his office which he did and they threw in the extra sensor. He installed the system and then went through his IPAD documents and I had to say my name into his mic which put my signature in all of the paperwork which was emailed to me. He then said something that I thought was odd; that after one year, I would get a rebate that would make my monthly charge "truly $38/mo".
The next day, my keypad was not powered up and I started looking at the installation downstairs and saw that he had tapped into the existing monitoring box. I checked everything and figured that the new transformer was not rated for the load that was hooked up so I put in a service call and they said they could get out on Tuesday Feb 2. Tuesday, a rep comes at the time promised, looks at the system, unhooks a number of wires and then tells me that there was a bad connection (funny how the connection he said was bad worked for 3.5 years). Anyway, it has worked continuously since he left. I get around to looking at my email on the Feb 2, the third business day, to verify that monthly charge and only saw $48.99.
I called customer service and explained my situation. The rep (Kelly) was very nice and extremely helpful. She said she didn't see anything in my paperwork that indicated $38 and advised me to go ahead and send the cancellation paperwork via fax and someone would either make it right or cancel the contract within a day or two. I did. Three days after the fax, I get a call from a man on my cell phone who wants to confirm the cancellation and schedule pickup of their material. I scheduled it and then before we hung up, I asked him, "Aren't you going to ask my why I'm cancelling?" He replied that he had already spoken to me and they couldn't honor the $38/mo. I asked him when he allegedly spoke with me and he replied, on Feb 2. I told him I don't know who he spoke with, but it wasn't me. He insisted that, "he did and that it really didn't matter at this point."
I reiterated to him that I was crystal clear in my mind that we had never spoken before today and the only thing he could have been doing is reading what Kelly wrote from my conversation with her. He was dismissive and then asked if there was anything else he could "help me with". I told him he could start by being truthful, but other than that, no. He did tell me that I would be refunded all of my fees paid - we'll see about that. I probably should have gotten him to send it to me in writing. At any rate, I am thinking that I dodged a bullet by getting out during the 3 day opt out period.
Overall, the installers were courteous and timely, but I think they must also get some commission because of the attempts to get me into a contract above the advertisement even the point of telling me about the rebate one year later that if taken on face value, would have locked me into a 3 year contract at $48.99 after I had clearly stated I was not interested in. Kelly was the bright spot of this experienced and took the time to thank her for her customer service when I had her on the phone. Finally, the knucklehead that called me to schedule pickup of their equipment was a bald faced liar. We never spoke before today and my cell phone records prove it.

The agent I contacted to schedule an appointment (granted at 10 pm, but our installer said that service was available 24/7) was rude and short with me and I was finally contacted by a supervisor. He was nice, but could not help me with an appointment for several days. That's not the kind of service I would like from an alarm company! The equipment was not very dependable and was way overpriced. I was instructed by another agent to take out the batteries, wait for a few minutes and then put them back in to reset the sensors. That should not have to be done at all! A bad experience all around!

Went from free install to paying for it and monthly service doubling from what I thought it would be. You need to have your salespeople on site and really plan out what a customer needs. Not have an installer at your house for 5 hours and reinvent the wheel. I decided to go forward with it but details should have been hashed out before installer got here. Made for a long evening. I recently purchased a new wireless alarm system from ADT after a home break-in. The installers were very good and the system is very capable of handling the security needs of the house for a reasonable price for the hardware. Five days after installing the system I got a alarm which proved to a false alarm and that sensor would not reset to allow rearming the system. So the operator was very helpful in talking me through shutting down that one sensor and I got a repair appointment three weeks in the future. In the meantime a portion of the system that I just had installed and I'm paying the full price for is not working and I think that is wrong.

He called his supervisor and the supervisor was sure he would be able to find the panel so they would be able to provide the monitoring at $27.99. The supervisor came 2 days later, but found out that they still could not meet that price. They would need almost $50.00 each month. So I asked them to remove the limited amount of equipment they insisted on installing on the first visit. I selected ADT Security for my personal home protection needs in April 2014. The need for a home alarm system was preceded by an incidence with a stalker. At the same time, I was not working as I was taking care of my dying mother while living alone. As such, I researched several different options for affordable “home security” and ultimately made the decision to use ADT to provide this service. My selection was based primarily on cost factors.
ADT offered a free system including 2 remotes and 15 points of entry for a $99 installation fee with a 36-month contract for monitoring services, and would provide a $100 Visa gift card. I was required to provide a credit card for payment of the $99 installation fee and initial months monitoring, in advance of the installation. I understood this was necessary prior to installation to confirm, schedule and install the equipment. It was also explained to me that this fee would be applied to my first months of monitoring service and the Visa gift card would offset the $99 installation fee.
4/9/14 My debit card charged $156.88 to schedule the installation. 4/9/14 Alarm was installed – no contract or paperwork was left by the installer except for an Impassa v1.1 User Manual and a blue and gold ADT Protect your home folder. During the installation, the installer tried to get me to upgrade the windows to “glass break” sensors and add motion detectors. I refused and explained that I only wanted the advertised alarm system, with the included 15 access points, as I was not in a financial position to even add the monthly alarm monitoring to my monthly budget. I would have added another keypad if I had the financial resources.
4/10/14 My previously used debit card was charged $60.20. 4/10/14 My previously used debit card was charged an additional $316.94. 5/9/14 – 12/9/15 My previously used debit card was charged $53.24 monthly. 1/9/16 previously used debit card was charged $57.28. I understand some time has passed since the original billing errors, however, for personal reasons, went unnoticed as the charges were “hidden” in my bank statement with debit card transactions. In going back to clean up 2014 following the passing of my mother, I have made resolving this matter with ADT a priority. I have contacted ADT several times over the past months and the matter remains outstanding.
1/12/16 – Called ADT, they had trouble accessing my account due to an incorrect phone number on my account. This probably explains why I never received any calls when my alarm activated in error, I corrected the information on file, this was my first contact with ADT since the installation occurred. ADT advised installation was handled by Defender and they would request to look at the charges in error. I also explained that I never received a copy of my contract, and it was emailed to me. In reviewing the contract, it included additional equipment charges, noting “see attached”, but there was no attachment. I knew this was an error because I refused to upgrade any included equipment or purchase anything optional. Expectation was set that I should hear back in 24-48 hours.
1/18/16 – Still had not received a call back or any information, called ADT and was transferred to Defender. The rep I spoke with said they had tried to reach me and had left a message however, I had no message. Defender advised me that since so much time had lapsed they could not correct the billing error, but would be sending me a $100 Visa gift card. This did not make me happy and I contacted ADT following the call with Defender. Spoke with Brandon, who was very understanding, read the notes on my account and advised me that he would report my case to Dealer Services. Expectation was set that I should hear back in 24-48 hours.
1/22/16 – Had not heard back on the case, contacted ADT again. The rep pulled up my account, reviewed the notes on the case, and told me that it will take up to 7 days to respond. 1/28/16 – Received $100 Visa gift card from MPell Solutions sent on behalf of Defender. I have included a copy of the letter that accompanied the gift card. 1/29/16 – Contacted ADT as it had been 7 days and I had not received a response. Spoke with Tammy, who reviewed the notes on my case. She located the missing “attachment” to the contract and agreed to email it to me. She told me I was charged for 1 cell unit at $99 and 10 wireless shock detectors at $149.00. I never agreed to purchase additional equipment or upgrade the included promotional alarm I purchased. I will include this recently found “attachment” with this letter. My case was again sent back to Dealer Services and I was told to expect a call back in 24-48 hours.
1/30/16 – Received Rider from ADT via USPS to correct and change the name on my account. 2/1/16 – Signed and sent back rider on account as well as this letter outlining the billing errors and overcharges on my account for equipment not approved or requested at the time of installation. I do not even know if this is the equipment that is included on my house.
Please advise how I can go about resolving these issues and receive a refund. If I do, in fact have upgraded equipment, please feel free to arrange an exchange of installed equipment with the originally ordered and agreed upon alarm system package I purchased. I am also including a few of the recently received “specials” that continue to hit my mailbox and email, including a reduced monitoring cost and alarm package similar to the one I originally purchased.

I gave two stars, but it was originally zero. So, it's getting better. My installation experience was awful. When I had originally set up the appointment, the representative I talked to and the manager I spoke with were very friendly and they verified that the offer that I received in the mail would be the total amount I would have to pay. I was also instructed by the manager to pay for the installation ahead of time because the technician installing the system could not handle any finances.
When the system was being installed, the technician would not stop talking and had to conversation with someone in the room at all times. Probably because of this, it took him over five hours to install the unit. Also, he told us during the install that we would be paying an extra $512 to him before he leaves because he recommended some upgrades. I was floored. I thought the technician couldn't take money? His explanation was also very confusing and I didn't understand how he was getting the numbers. He completely put my wife and I on the spot so we had to agree to it.
The next two days I could not help but feel ripped off, so I faxed over a document to cancel my service. I was then called by a representative who wanted to know what happened. I explained the entire situation to him and indicated that the alarm system was supposed to give me peace of mind, but I can get peace of mind over the fact that I was lied to (about the terms of the offer and about the technician not able to take money) and ripped off (explaining exorbitant charges that were not clearly defined). The representative (Kevin) then explained the process a little better and attempted to reconcile the additional amount I was charged. I accepted his offer. Since then, the service has been fine and when I have needed to talk to someone, they have been helpful. So, the original zero stars has increased to two stars and hopefully that will get better in time, too.

I built a house in 2015 and I called the 800 number and their technician came and put the equipment in a box and told me that the account will be on hold and to give them a call when my new house is done. Before he left some areas were not working but he said, "They would probably start working soon". Well, they didn't.
He came back, jiggled something, and it temporarily started working. 2 hours after install our panels started beeping low battery. We found that he did not even have the system hooked up to a power source! We had to rip the panels from the walls and open the main battery pack to make it stop. So our complete system never worked, at all. And he had tried to use the old wiring system from the existing panel for power by stripping the wires therefore totally destroying them. We are extremely upset and disappointed by our experience. And they billed us for the more expensive wireless service when we were supposed to have landline monitoring. Still waiting on a refund. I recently signed up for services with ADT. It was a nightmare! The man showed up at my house at around 3pm and said that he would be here for a couple of hours. Well, that was the first not true, he was here until 11pm! At about 10pm I went to bed leaving my fiance up with him as I had to get up very early the next morning for work. We agreed to 2yrs. service at @27.99 a month. $100.00 deposit a $100.00 gift card which appeared to me to be a great deal. I was asleep when he was ready to leave. After spending 8 hours at my house the system still was not working and he said that he would be back in a couple of days to finish the work! The next day he had a contract online that he FORGED my name/signature that relayed $48.99 a month.
When I called to complain he said that I wouldn't wake up. Where are your priorities?? Does this give you the right to do that! He came back several days later to finish the work. Again, he was at my house from 3pm to 8:30pm! He presented the contract to me with the $27.99 as quoted.. I agreed and signed. I signed agreeing to the 2 yr. contract and when we got to the last signature for them to automatic debit my credit card monthly for the fees I disagreed and would not sign. This should have been told to me right upfront! I do not agree with any automatic debits and would have declined and moved on to someone else if I was told this. He left without me signing this part. Since then they have debited my account for ridiculously amounts of money without my approval.
After my first complaint they offered to refund the 100 and also offered me the first 2 month free. Since then they have continued to charge my account without my approval! Why would you debit my account anyway. What happened to the 2 months free! It has been a living nightmare. Now they are telling me that they have to charge my account as if I have no choice and have done so. I called my credit card company and have place a block on ADT. Now they are telling me that I have to pay the thousands of dollars for the equipment. I have asked for them bill me monthly and I will pay. They are not cooperating at all. Please help!

I called ADT to sign up for 36.99 service. They were more than happy to get me going and offered $850 in "free" equipment and $100 visa gift card. Still haven't received the gift card. I have been billed 58.99 every month because I have wireless and camera. When the installation guy came over he said I could have anything I needed, just pay the difference in equipment over the $850 free stuff. I went over by over $900 and paid him. Nowhere did anybody tell me I would be billed extra for services. They refuse to downgrade my system and I am on autopay and threatened to turn my into credit bureau if I stop payment.
I have made several attempts over first 6 months to resolve this but all they want to do is send out service tech to resolve. Can the service tech lower my service to what I originally thought I signed up for???!! The installation is terrible, wires hanging from the garage ceiling and I still do not have my window stickers or my yard sign either. This company really cares about my security, NOT!! Just the money. Typical sales pitches to get you hooked and in a contract. Stay away, much better systems and more honest companies with better pricing out there.

The tech who came to install the system was amazing. Very patient with our questions and very knowledgeable with his answers. The problem lies in the billing. We wanted the monthly charge out of a different account than the one given with initial call. We gave the different account information to the tech and he gave it to the billing dept but pro-rated and next month came out of wrong account. When they refunded they didn't refund to the account the charge came out of. We had a security breach and had to give them another account, so when they refunded to the breached account, it was closed and they issued a check. I have spoken with them and check was issued per my phone call with them on 1/14/16. It is 1/22/16 and as of 11:44 am, I still don't have my refund.

When your installer asked where I wanted the Base Unit installed I told him where, he said it would be too difficult to put the unit where I wanted because he would have to run a wire through the wall and basement ceiling. He then proceeded to recommend an area which I agreed to. Upon initial installation of keypad he damaged the wall and said he was sorry but left it for me to fix. As we were filling out the required paperwork he asked me what my 4 digit code would be at first. I thought it was odd but I gave him the code, he then asked me for my Social Security number. Again I thought this was odd but I gave him my SSN. Later that evening the more I thought about it the more concerned I got.
The next day I called your C.S. # and spoke to one of your representatives, when I told him what transpired he told me the technician should not have asked me for either the code or SSN. I have since changed my code but he still has my SSN which concerns me. The evening of my installation I received a phone call concerning how my Service Technician handled the installation. I gave him high marks but after thinking about my experience I've reconsidered my opinion of this individual. I don't wish to see this person lose his job, but as I told your C.S. representative "I don't want someone coming in my home at 3:00 AM." I hope you see my concern, again I don't want to see the technician lose his job, but I would like to see my concerns addressed. Thank You.

On installation day I was told that I would receive a contract via email. The technician left no other documents with me except for the permit document from the city in which I live. After a few days I noticed that my outdoor cameras were plugged into an outside outlet. I instantly lost faith in ADT and wanted to cancel my service. I called ADT and told them what had happened and they said they would only remove the cameras and the charge associated with the cameras, but would not let me cancel my account because the three-day window to cancel service had already passed. I told the representative that I had no clue that there was only a three-day cancellation window because I had never received a contract. I know that ADT has my correct email address because I have received other things from ADT via the same email address.
I relayed the whole story to the representative thinking this was a cut and dry process. There's no electronic record of myself receiving a contract, nor did I feel protected by ADT's equipment and their technicians' installation method. I was told that this was not a reason to cancel. An ADT representative named Mariah even told me that the contract was emailed to me on October 14th; which was 5 days after installation. No one, from the time I called ADT for the first consultation until the day I found how inferior the equipment was installed, had ever even mentioned your cancellation policy to me, let alone explain it to me. Your customer service representatives have basically treated me like I was trying to get something for free or something for nothing. I told them all I want is to cancel my account and stop the payments.
I am not asking for a refund of all the previous months as I know this company is so terrible with customer service that I would have been told "no". I was trying to make a compromise so that I could separate myself from ADT as soon as possible and it is becoming impossible. I have already discussed this matter with my attorney and I have very reasonable grounds to receive a judgment in my favor. I do, however, want to speak with your attorney. We can do this the easy way if ADT will just admit the errors and cancel my account. I expect someone in management to give me a call after receiving these comments. I also expect ADT to be reasonable. ADT couldn't even write my legal name correctly on my account.

The entire experience from sales to installation and the understanding of what we were and were not getting was disappointing. We were interested, after receiving a promotional flyer, in having an ADT system installed in our home. When I called to set up an appt. I was told that a $99 fee would be charged if we decided, after a tech came to our home, to go through with the install.
The appt. was set up and the tech arrived at the assigned time. After surveying our house he came up with several suggestions regarding the type of equipment we should install. At no time was I told that this equipment was not included in our promo cost. He did explain that some of the equipment would be $20 more, per unit, than what we were going to get in the promo. I asked for him to tally up how much more he was talking about and he told me $1,900.00, ouch! That was not my intention so I told him that I just wanted the system that was advertised and he agreed. He went on about the convenience of having a wireless system and its many pluses. The equipment was installed and he left.
It was only later when I checked my e-mail from ADT that I reviewed my forthcoming billing and what it would look like. Rather than the $27.99 monthly fee I was looking for I saw that my monthly fee would be $58.99. I called and spoke with a customer service rep and explained my concerns. I was then told that because we had the wireless system that would be the monthly fee. I was never told that our monthly rate would go from the $27.99 that was advertised to the $58.99 shown on my upcoming bill. I was told that the wireless was an upgrade and that if we wanted the lesser rate she would send someone out and replace the wireless system with one tied to our landline. That is NOT what I was sold. That was NOT explained to me at anytime.
And as far as I am concerned this is a classic case of "bait and switch" sales tactic. It was also explained that the $99.00 was simply to make the appt. and was never told that that was going to be charged just to have someone come out. The whole experience has left a very bad taste in my mouth and I have requested to have the system removed and my money refunded. Also, it was really disappointing that nobody gave any effort to come to some sort of compromise. Pretty bad as a whole.

I called ADT because they are the biggest security company out there. I arranged my installation of Pulse because I wanted to operate the system through my smart phone. The installer showed up the same day around 3, he was very nice and is the only reason they even got 1 star. After being in my home for 4 hours and installing nothing he finally asked me if I have an AT&T cell tower in my area. I do not, only Verizon. ADT only works through AT&T and told me Verizon would require extra equipment and a higher monthly charge to which I agreed. I signed the contract and then he spent the next 2 hours trying to connect to Verizon which he couldn't do.
Finally I told him I had to call it a night, it was now 9 PM and he hadn't installed a thing. He told me he could hook it up to the landline in the meantime and he would be back Tuesday, this was Saturday, to finish. He said his manager would call to arrange it. The next day the monthly fee was charged to my CC without having any equipment installed. The manager never called so on Monday I text the installer and asked if he was coming on Tuesday. He said no he was too booked. After many days of texting he finally showed up the following Monday and once again after being there 3 hours, could not finish the install. I was told in order for me to have access through my smartphone they would need to install a big gateway box. I told the installer no it was not what I signed up for and should've been told ahead of time that they only work through AT&T.
The installer told me to call the next day and arrange a refund for the install (which didn't happen) and the monthly fee I was charged. I did call the next day and was apologized to profusely and told someone would contact me within 48-72 hours to arrange my refund and the cancellation of my contract. A week went by and I didn't hear from anyone. I called again and was again apologized to profusely and told EVERYONE in that department was in a meeting and someone would call me as soon as it let out. Of course no one did. I finally called my CC and disputed the charges and put a merchant block on my card. If this wasn't such a big company I would be certain that this whole company is a scam. They have absolutely horrible customer service and old outdated equipment. I say again DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
UPDATED ON 02/03/2016: I wrote a horrendous review about ADT a couple of weeks ago. As a result I was contacted by the company who apologized again profusely and my contract was canceled, money refunded and the local manager came to my house, removed all of the equipment and was extremely apologetic to me for my bad experience. I figured finally they are out of my life. Then a couple of days later I received a text from ADT to call them. When I called them I spoke to an extremely rude man who told me I owed them $86 and would I like to take care of that. I laughed and asked him what I owe them for and he told me for the monitoring. My equipment was never installed! They told me my account is going to go into collections. Is this company for real?

But recent change of landline phone (my home alarm is through my landline phone, not wireless) let me understood that I actually got zero service from ADT. I notified ADT that I have changed the landline telephone in December 2015 and let them update accordingly. They told me that ADT can't receive any signal from my home alarm and can't sent out signal to my home alarm too. I checked my alarm activity online and found out there weren't any activity for more than 10 months. I complained why I didn't get any communication from them if the alarm didn't work. They told me it is my responsibility to test the alarm regularly by myself.
I didn't receive any text message, phone call or email from ADT during the last 10 months. Actually I didn't receive any text message, phone call or email from ADT during my 6 1/2 years services with ADT. I initiated my alarm by mistake several times and got no response. I called at 7:15 to confirm and lady said between 8 and 9 they would come, so I got to the shop at 7:50 to be early. By 9:30, no ADT, so I called them and the lady said "You are not scheduled for today!" When I told her I had called just that morning and they said between 8-9, she said I needed to be transferred to the scheduling dept. I WAS ON HOLD FOR 25 MINUTES before I got through.
That dept told me that they decided to come a few days early and were there on the 11th, but no one was there! I told her we are only at that shop at night, so of course we were not there, and, besides, our appointment was for today, not the 11th. They said there was nothing they could do to get someone out there that day, how about tomorrow (Saturday the 16th)? They said their technician would be there between 12 and 5 and he would call me when on the way. I got there at 11:50 and by 1 PM no ADT, so I called again. This time they told me the Technician was there at 11:24 and we were not there, so he left! I EXPLODED!! Not only was he supposed to be there between 12 and 5, but he was supposed to call en route. Their response was "Can we come Monday!"
Long story short, I insisted a manager call me, and they finally did, and they were able to get an on call Technician to come, although it was 6:30 before he finally got there. We recently had some paint work done on our home and a few of the sensors had shifted. I called into ADT to get a technician out to our house to service the sensors before we went on vacation during Christmas. It was going to take two weeks to get someone out to our house and we would have to pay for the service. I seemed to have no other choice, so we booked the appointment. The technician came out the day we left and explained he had fixed the sensors and that the system was working properly. We went out of town and that's when the nightmare began.
A few days after we went out of town, our house sitter called to say something was wrong with the alarm and that in fact while she was feeding the dogs the police came to the house because of a distress signal. They told her that they were there the day before as well because they received a call from ADT that the distress code had been activated. The house sitter had not used the alarm the day before and did not know our distress signal. When I went to check my phone app, the whole system was offline. I called into ADT and they had my house sitter speak to an ADT technician while they ran tests on our line.
It turned out that they could not figure out what was going on with the system, but they did know for some reason the tech that came to our home actually programmed in our on/off code as the distress code (or so they thought) and the only thing they could do was shut the whole thing down until a technician could come back. WHILE WE ARE OUT OF TOWN. They then made me call to schedule an appointment, but they could not figure out who actually serviced our home. They also could not figure out who was the moron technician that messed up the system in the first place. Made me feel really secure about my home while we are on vacation!!
When I got back from vacation, I spent another few hours on the phone with ADT while they tried to find me a technician. Each company they claimed was my service provider would tell me in fact they were not and to call ADT back again. At this time, my husband is now out of town and I am home alone with my kids and the alarm system was still not working. That night at 2am, I awoke to heavy pounding on my front door. A constant heavy pounding. I thought for sure someone is breaking into my home, I thought I was going to have a heart attack. I slowly walked downstairs and yelled out "get away, I'm calling the police!" The response was "We are the police, open the door!" I said I did not believe them and they instructed me to go to the window, which I did and saw they were in police uniforms. I started crying because I was so confused if they were really police, what to do and they said my name and "please open the door".
I slowly opened the door and they started grilling me with "am I ok, is anyone holding me hostage, is anyone else inside". They finally said they received a call from ADT that a distress signal from our alarm was sent!! So, I never had the alarm on, I never set it because they told me it wasn't working. So, the distress signals were being sent on their own from the system even when it was not armed. Let me repeat that, the software on our alarm system was sending distress codes on its own to ADT which were being communicated onto the police department.
After another 2 hours on the phone with ADT that day and a lot of yelling and cursing, they informed me that I could not cancel my system because I am under contract and even though yes it is their fault, if I cancel I will have to pay $800 cancel fee. They said they would send a technician. Three days later a tech came and "fixed" it. He said he had no idea what happened or why that happened but as far as he could tell it was working now. He said I could get a new box, but that I would have to pay for that and he wasn't sure that was the issue anyway. Thanks for nothing! So, one week later, we received a bill from our police department for FOUR false alarms sent to them for a total of $1,100!!!
Again I called ADT and this was their response: The bill from the police department is between me and the police department. The protocol is that I have to pay the bill and then submit it to ADT and they will review the bill. If they decided at that time that it is their error, they will refund me with CREDIT TO ADT!!! The process could take anywhere up to 90 days AND I have to send it via email but there is no way I can follow up with it as that department does not have a phone number (convenient!). I of course argued that they know it is their fault because they admitted it to me in phone conversations. The woman said, "we have not admitted to anything" and she was sorry I had to deal with it, but that is all she could do.
All in all, I spoke to probably ten different people at ADT that kept sending me to another person who would send me to another person and it would always end with a dead end of "No we are really not going to help you. We are not going to help you, we are not going to let you cancel your alarm account and we DO NOT CARE ANYWAY. Keep paying your alarm fee but we don't give a crap that we are actually NOT doing what we claim we do."

I entered into a 3-yr contract not knowing this. Most contracts are 2 yrs. What are 2 yrs? Too long but at that time I wanted security. ADT is the worst thing that ever happened to me. Just when I didn't think it could get worse like with DirecTV or computer CenturyLink who all require a contract. 3 yrs, come on really? I did sign it but after 2 yrs I find out ADT had been over charging me for the 2 yrs I paid. I bundled security smoke and carbon to find out all I received was security. I called the very RUDE customer service told me "Yes you have the bundle pack 45.00 a month for all 3." Well here I find I have no carbon/smoke detector and ADT said they would credit my account $95.00.
Next month got a bill and they said no credit. They have credited me before and they wouldn't credit the money they said they would. I canceled with like 8 months remaining and they send me a bill for $259.00 for the rest of the 3 yrs. WHAT? I'm fighting with ADT who is very rude. Hang up on me. Wrote the BBB. No luck so now ATT general. The point is I paid ADT for all equipment and 26 months never late and now I find the overcharge and just want to forget and move on. They keep sending me the bill. They are out - ZERO. I'm out Hundreds and I feel so cheated. The company I pay to protect from theft is the one stealing from me. You sent this request to me. I didn't seek out writing a review. The subcontracting company used to install the ADT system was horrible. The technician was a complete jerk, treated me like I was an idiot and was completely condescending when speaking at me. And yes, I mean speaking at me. He installed the panel first, then asked questions about the system I wanted. He didn't even consider that I DIDN'T want the cellular plan at twice the monthly cost of the regular system over the phone line. After he installed the panel and AFTER his "sales pitch" he discovered that I didn't want the cellular plan. It was 8 pm at night. I had been up since 4 am. I was tired and this jerk wouldn't listen to what I wanted. He was going to have to move the panel to where the phone line was and I was going to be left with 2 holes in my wall. He says, "Oh I can patch it". Well great, but what about the paint, you jackass?
Still angry about the panel. He says he can call his supervisor and get approval to install a second relay panel where he install the original panel and move main panel to where the phone line is. Or I can have a 20% discount on equipment we selected. So he repeats what he just said. Doesn't even give me time to think about it. I am tired and trying to process everything while still pissed about the panel and he pressures me into making a decision. TOTAL JERK.

Anytime the alarm system or any door or window sensor malfunctions, the soonest ADT can send a tech out is always a week! What happens if someone breaks into your home within that time frame? You're royally "screwed"!!! And ADT is not liable even though they continue to receive their monthly payments. When a tech finally does come out to fix the problem, at times, I have had either a lazy technician or someone who didn't know what he was doing, and I have to call a few days later again about the same problem and wait another week! For such a big company, I'm appalled they can't get a tech out the very next day. I'm about to research other home security companies as I'm over the type of service ADT provides.

When the installer came out he went thru what he thought I should have installed. I requested what I wanted and part of that was a fire alarm installed (I already had one from a previous alarm company) in the hallway. By me not reading over the paperwork NO ALARM WAS INSTALLED. The next night I could not set the alarm at the garage door. With a death in the family I could not stay at home waiting for a repair person to come out. When I was able to call they said they could not get in touch with the repair company that handles my account then. They said they would contact them to come out. (Apparently) no one received my information.
When I called back I was told ADT does not do the repairs and it took three more days until they could come out. The problem was that the part on the garage door could not handle the cold weather and they had to move it. The other alarm company had no problem where it placed. It would cost me more to have the fire alarm installed and a more monthly increase onto my bill. Satisfied NO.

It is not a mistake to want a security system in your home but with ADT the experience was very bad, awful and extortion. We request for security installation around summer time. Happy to move into our new home. And an installer came in and were talking about the price. And he was not even show us the whole package and sell the highest package. But happen to know that one of door system was not properly glue to door due to bad installation and it keep falling out, and we try severally on own to put it right. But we later put a call to ADT Customer Service. They sent someone down to take care of their mistake.
The next things to see on the bill was an charge for coming out to fixed just a magnet system on the door. We call them and lady was so rude and later, they agree to take off the charges. And we were not satisfy with service and we got know that we lock in for three years, and we can get out, and the only way out is to pay for the whole three years. It's very obvious that people pluck money from trees. You don't necessarily have to work for it. And we raise alarm. The whole things was a means of scam and dubious approach. And we never know that there is contract of such that will lock you in. And we call almost every other time. The installer did not know explain or neither we see that. All he just say was, "Sign here," that "I come here to install," and shady sale. And we plead and explain this whole scenario to them and still they want us to pay thousands for cancellation.
If you are looking for a security company be aware of hidden and shady contract. We are still left with a burden and what we think should a means of finding peace is now ache in our heart for any hardworking family to pay from their tears and sweat. It is painful. Never a unique experience. Am still on it and I will keep on fighting this unjust business or way of exploiting people.

We had ADT come out to install a home security system on December 30, 2015. I would warn everyone to ensure they ask a lot of questions, as the installers are trying to sell you as much as they can for commission. They definitely withhold information until you specifically ask. We also felt like our installer was trying to rip us off. He told us at one point that each camera was around $500, but then once we removed a camera from our total package, he would only remove around $100 from the total. We argued back and forth for quite a while and he wouldn't budge. He was extremely rude and you could tell the entire time that his only concern was getting his commission.
He eventually sold us 2 cameras and 2 window breaks for an ungodly amount of money. It was an extremely unpleasant experience. On top of that, he couldn't get 1 of the cameras to work, so he just left and told us it would start working once we upgraded our internet. Now we are locked into paying an extra $10 per month for internet, and guess what, that wasn't even the issue with the camera!! We had to ask the installer to come out again (and wait for another 4 hours for them to arrive), and not only did he not get that camera to work, he also screwed up our 2nd camera, so when he left, neither of them worked! He completely left us high and dry.
The second installer also informed me that they were coming out with brand new cameras within a week or two. That REALLY upset me since I had just paid a lot for cameras they are about to stop using. They should have informed me that the camera I was buying was going to be phased out in 2 weeks. Now I am stuck with a huge bill and 0 cameras working. I have to call ADT back to set up ANOTHER appointment for them to come back AGAIN so I can wait another 4 hours, and will probably be left high and dry again. Extremely dissatisfied and I would not recommend ADT to anyone. I feel completely taken advantage of that I have paid ADT so much at this point and the equipment I bought is not even working. The worst part is that they don't even care.

I received an introductory letter for a $27.99 monthly fee. I called the number in the letter and was informed my phone conversation would be recorded. At no time was I told landline telephone capability was needed. I have a recorded agreement, hopefully, with "Protect Your Home." I made the mistake of giving my credit card number and paying $99 for a home evaluation and possible install. The system was installed before we saw any paperwork. When the install was finished, we were told our monthly monitoring fee was $48.99 because we did not have a landline telephone. I feel Protect Your Home and ADT were less than honest for not discussing the supposed need for a landline to be used for monitoring my home. I tried to reach a customer service supervisor at least five times beginning December 31, 2015.
Each time I called Protect Your Home I was told a supervisor would call me but I never received a supervisor's phone call. The explanation given for my $48.99 monthly fee was that ADT had to use cell towers and this meant big monthly payments to the owners of the cell phone towers. I believe this is a perfect example of dishonesty and bait and switch because I called Verizon and asked them if ADT pays Verizon big monthly fees for cell tower use, they told me they never heard of such payments. Protect Your Home and ADT had my credit card number, got my $99, charged me an extra $905 for equipment and told me my monthly monitoring fee was $48.99 and not $27.99 as offered in the introductory letter. I feel I was flim-flammed and will never recommend Protect Your Home and ADT to a friend due to the dishonest way I was dealt with.

I had a service call set up the next day, January 12, but received a call requesting I change to the same time. Two ADT representatives arrived. One from Protect Your Home and one from ADT corporate. After providing them with the email and telephone conversation earlier this week, they both said they could not honor such an offer.
Protect Your Home representative also said my monthly service cost would increase approximately seven dollars. I was very disappointed with this experience. I was told Protect Your Home would provide service for about 90 days then ADT would take over. However ADT is currently providing monitoring service. I believe the initial telephone call was part of a bait and switch process. Also Protect Your home and ADT corporate sales does not coordinate prices. All must use this other company. Buyer beware, this is a rip-off company designed to divorce you from your hard-earned.
The alarm began to malfunction in the night and we called for help. The first time, an operator had me perform some checks and pronounced the system fine. Why did it go off in the night then with ear-splitting noise when the property was not breached? The second time we called, we had to leave a call back number. After 48 hours of waiting, we gave up. This company operates with no checks and balances and is an example of corporate dishonesty and bilking the customer. The worst of all is that we customers are without any defense. The Thief(s) opened the door to our house to take my car keys - the alarm was set, but didn't go off!!! We slept straight through them taking my car, filling is up with items from our garage, and driving away. This has cost us money, time, energy, sleep, and a lost sense of security in OUR OWN HOME.
I called ADT on a couple occasions to be told that the next level up is the CEO, hung up on, transferred to voicemail ultimately to tell me that they have to send a Tech out to verify that our alarm is faulty. I have a video as well as the police report that shows our alarm does not work when set to "Stay" but that doesn't seem to matter - they still want to send out a Tech. Funny how their website say "Theft Protection Guarantee covers insurance deductible (up to $500) in the event of burglary if your system is armed." Their Commercial states "I'm ADT and I am always there"
Good luck getting money back, or cancelling your account because they require a tech to come out to verify that any mishap was not YOUR FAULT! When did the customer become wrong? I have called ADT numerous times regarding this issue, and they have hung up on me, transferred me to voicemail, and I was told by one rep that the next higher up was the CEO? Really? Anything you sign with that many pages and signatures is a contract with a cancellation fee. Their fees are ridiculous if you cancel. I also learned that you don't even deal with ADT until you've been in your contract for over a year. I think this is unethical business practice and there is not much value at all. The service they sold is not what was advertised and the phone technician could not view any of the conversation or package. Nothing here is free and none of your pre-existing equipment will work.
We started at a $6700 package and settled on $480 worth of equipment to "Protect Our Home". I cancelled. It took over two weeks for them to pick up equipment and when they replaced our old equipment, it appeared as if it was thrown back onto the walls. When we called Home Defenders to fix the problem, we were told that a technician would not be able to come out for a full week after our call. How is it that a system that costs us $50 a month and is supposed to make us feel protected 24/7 cannot be serviced for a week, allowing for a weakness in the system for that week? When we expressed this concern, we were told that a technician was in our area and would call us after he finished his job. No call was received, and when we called the following day, they told us that there were no notes in our file about that call.
When we requested to speak to a manager, no managers were available and they promised a manager would call back within 24 hours. No one called. We waited 3 days, and called again, and again were told no supervisors/managers were available and that they would have to call us back. When we requested to stay on the line until a manager was available, we were told that was not possible, and were not given information for manager names, direct lines, email, or any other contact information. There is a disconnect on ADT's end as they are not monitoring my house properly, but they would not admit to an issue. They would NOT let me out of my contract even though I had MULTIPLE FALSE ALARMS due to faulty equipment - unbelievable!!! Their solution to the problem was to remove the fire alarms. How does that help me? I still need my home to have a monitored fire alarm! Maria in the Loyalty Dept kept telling me that my issues have been resolved. Are you kidding me? I just had another FALSE FIRE ALARM TODAY!!!
She told me she had no record of that issue. I explained to her then how can she possibly expect to resolve my concerns if she doesn't even have all of my information? They kept telling me that a contract is a binding agreement. Yes, that is true when BOTH sides of the agreement are being met. ADT is NOT holding up their end of the agreement. ADT is NOT providing me with a properly working security system and they are somehow making it my issue to fix when I have NOTHING to do with the monitoring. I informed her that I will probably be charged by the county because there have been too many false alarms and she told me there is a separate department for that. WOW-SERIOUSLY?! I do not TRUST ADT.
