When I called for a new install I explained the way ADT wanted to configure our system was not what we wanted. A supervisor came on the line, agreed to the changes, keeping the price the same. Then installer wanted upgrades that would add $750. After 3 hours with the manager and installer price remained original. ADT then said needed to have AT&T come and unlock the phone box. AT&T came and ADT didn't need to access that portion of the box. When we called to get system finished, they sent a new guy. This took way too long and we did not get the main control installed where promised.

Poor marketing. Free equipment, not exactly. $1300 of free equipment and an additional $3700 later I have a security system that is more than I need. When they arrive they have an electrician already start working on the system so you're stuck going forward. I was first presented with a $7000 system which would secure a prison and worked our way down. Ridiculous! After they left I went to leave the house and set the alarm. It said a window was open and that it had to be bypassed. It was not open so they had not set it up correctly.
The system was put in on 5/20 and I called a few days later (due to my crazy schedule, hence an alarm system) to see what they could do to fix it. They could not fix it by phone and the soonest they could get someone out to my house was 6/16. The fact that it hadn't worked properly from the start didn't matter and my appointment could not be prioritized. Although the tech was very nice, I would not recommend working with them.

We have multiple locations that are monitored by ADT, and when I call to inquire about loyalty discounts as I was advised to do by an ADT representative, you would think that I would be transferred to someone who would be aware of the next steps in the process. Well, instead I received a representative would was extremely rude and wanted to be argumentative, however, I stopped her in her tracks and asked to be connected to someone who might know a little more about what I was referring to since it was so baffling and unheard of for her.
The conversation went like this: April loyalty department - ADT - curt and argumentative June 7, 2016 at 9:29pm - on hold since 9pm - been with the company 13 years - "You are not giving me clarification. You don't come to my department and just ask for a discount. We don't just offer anything. You are confusing and you don't know what you want, I mean you're saying you want discounts, but you're not telling me what you want." *I informed her from the beginning that I was calling about loyalty discounts as I was transferred to her for that very reason. She transferred me without even asking me to hold, and she re-routed my call back through the main hold-line, which I'd been waiting on for more than 30 minutes.

I have been a customer with ADT for 11 years. My experience prior to 6/6/16 has been acceptable. However, on yesterday, I decided to take my neighbor's advice. I am getting rid of ADT. After paying years with this company, and to find out that I did not have maintenance covered for THEIR equipment--and they wanted $100 for someone to come out and check my alarm problems, which by the way - had been going off all times of night, scaring me silly---I LOST IT!!
I told the rep that assisted me on the call, "but people from your company have come out and checked my alarm system before and no one ever said anything about maintenance not been covered." The only response she could give me was, "I am so sorry but there is nothing that I can do." Then she said, "oh wait - I can give you a one time rate the first hour free and then $27 for each hour beyond ---for a tech person to come out!" I said, "WHAT??" Yet, it seems as if every other month - there is a letter that says - "we are increasing your bill by $2, or $3 for some insane reason." I'm done!! I work diligently each and everyday for my money. I refuse to give it away to dishonesty. WOW!!! This was truly a wake up call for me!

The only reason I am giving ONE star is because you cannot give ZERO. I signed up with ADT just shy of one year ago. I was informed that I could cancel service at any time, no holes/damage would be done to walls during installation and if I ever wanted to transfer my service, I would receive credit for my new installation. Let me start by saying I should have read the fine print because you are TIED INTO A CONTRACT FOR A MINIMUM OF THREE YEARS! If you attempt to cancel, they will force you to pay the remaining 36-month balance which was over $800.00 for myself. I explained that I was moving and they still stood firm on their termination fee.
SECOND, when the technician came, he knocked a HUGE HOLE in the wall where he installed the keypad and left all of the pieces of sheetrock just scattered all over my hallway. This also cost me my $750 rental deposit. Third... do not believe the promises of a relocation credit. They will double the price of the original installation and then give you whatever discount that will bring it back down to the same amount that you originally paid. My experience with ADT has been a nightmare from day one and I would advise anyone considering home security to look elsewhere!

They say, "Ok, we will call you back," but they don't call you back until 20 days later. And when they call you back they don't know what the ** they're calling for? Then you have to go to holds and get put on hold many times and when you finally get someone on the phone they disconnect you. ADT was our provider for years before the switch to a Bright House bundle and I had no complaints with their service and that's the reason I returned. This is not the ADT company that cared about its customers the way they used to. The installation tech was here for hours until after 9PM and had little idea about what he was doing. When I would ask him a question he would answer "Don't worry. I'll take care of you." (?) I'm for upgrading my system however the tech said I was only allowed 5 sensors, and no smoke alarm at no cost after messing with the existing alarm for hours. He had absolutely no understanding of my current alarm system even though it was an ADT system. Only after I brought out the brochure and the name and number of the person who authorized the smoke and fire sensor did he agree to install it. He kept telling me "Don't worry. I'll take care of you." and by this time that’s what I was afraid of.
The only thing he knew how to do was stick up sensors and then couldn't get the system to work after attempting several times and finally calling someone did he get the system working. I wonder if ADT is aware the sensors the tech used are Secure Wireless and not DSC sensors made by Tyco? Agreed in the fine print it says you have to pay for the Visa card however after checking with the complaints at the BBB there are problems even getting the card after you pay for it? The whole episode was a trying experience that I will not forget when this contract is up. This reflects on ADT for doing business in this manner and it's going to cost them in the end.

I wanted to tell you what a good experience that I had with the rep that came to the Port Orange house. The first thing he did after introducing himself to my wife and I was remove his shoes. We talked briefly at the table about what our requirements were going to be. Next we got up and he went in clockwise direction around the house pointing out a lot of good features and giving us some good information on just how to secure this house. Being in law enforcement myself, this young kid had some good ideas and did share with me some additional ways people gain entry.
I have seen mostly they come from the back where no one can see them. This young man went on to impress me by showing me several ways to keep them out. In the end myself and my wife went with his recommendations. We feel that not only the knowledge he has of his position, but also his passion for wanting people to be secure in their homes goes with out saying that his passion truly comes from his heart. As a Lieutenant I would definitely put him in the position of SGT within a three year or less time span. Just based on how well he communicates with people.

Installer was a nice guy, but was not knowledgeable in the equipment he was installing. I bought this system with the pulse service in mind. I made that clear upfront. Three weeks later and multiple visits later, no pulse, no answers, no return phone calls. As for the equipment, my old alarm siren was louder and all my sensors were securely screwed on, not held on with double stick tape and easily knocked off.

I specifically discussed which windows and doors needed devices and what type of device. I have 3 windows high off the ground that did not require a device. He installed these anyway. I have 3 fixed non-operable windows that would be better suited with a glass break device. Magnetic devices were installed (quite useless). I only received 1 glass break device. My initial package was to include 2. Paint was damaged in the kitchen that was noticed after the installer left. The problem is who paid for the extra devices. I did not get an itemized statement. 2 table top cameras were provided that require very long ugly extension cords. Seems to me there are better options. Several days after the installation I was emailed about 12 documents that were digitally dated and signed, that in fact, I did not see or sign at the house when installed, that screw me to the wall with overpriced equipment and double the monthly fee that I was initially quoted by ADT.

Originally when I talk to rep I was quoted 27.99, and that I only needed to pay $100 for installation that I was getting back on a visa gift card. Well now after everything is installed I'm paying 48.99 per month and paid approximately $450.00 for the whole installation. The gift card is a joke. They make you print a gift certificate, copy of contract, and money order for $4.99 for shipping and handling. My question is, after you spend all the time printing, scanning, and paying $4.99, waiting 4-8 wks, how much are you really getting? Very disappointed!

I have had my alarm for a little less than 2 years now. About 2 weeks ago the alarm went off around 10 pm, scaring the crap out of me and my children. Turns out it was a false alarm. This happened 3 more times that night, again at 12 am, and then again at 2 am. A week later, this happened again while I was not home. I came home and actually didn't even hear the alarm going off, which is concerning, but ADT sent the police out. Who came to my door and said, "Your alarm is going off right now."
I checked my keypad and could not see that anything was awry so I don't know what that was about. Had to apologize to the police and then called ADT to have someone come out. They said they didn't have an opening for a service call for two weeks. I wasn't happy about this but since the alarm had gone off on its own only twice thus far and I could still use it I figured not a big deal. Well, it went off on its own again the next night and this time when I turned it off I could not set it afterwards. The keypad was doing all sorts of goofball things and would not respond to anything I did to it. Plus beeping over and over and over.
I called ADT and asked that a technician come out within the next day or so, and told them I could not use my alarm at all, that it was completely malfunctioning. I got told "Sorry, we don't have anything open for two weeks." I said, "I can't use my alarm and it's beeping non-stop. I'm afraid it's going to bring the police again and I don't want to get fined. I need my alarm to work. I live in a crappy neighborhood."
Their response: "Sorry, don't know what to tell you." I find it absolutely appalling this company charges me $50 a month and I paid almost 2k for equipment and when it's not working, I get told "too bad, we'll see you in two weeks." This company is in the business of selling safety and if they cannot back their product up by providing timely service when it's needed, then why are they even in business? They are robbing their customers. Period.
I should not be paying $50 a month for this kind of service and I'm pretty certain I'll be getting billed $50 for a full month's service even though I could not use the damn system for half of the month. Oh, and I get to pay $25 for a technician to come out, once they show up in two weeks that is. Do not use this company. They are like Comcast. Too big to properly serve their customers and a ripoff.

Very unhappy with the installation at my new home. Current house had existing sensors but the installer used hard sell tactics to try and get me to purchase all new equipment. He stated that my "old" stuff would not work with the system and I need to spend $1600 to upgrade. Mind you the system was in use by old home owners up to the previous week. After this technique was used, I asked him to leave my house, but all of the sudden there was a translator device in which he stated everything would work and he happened to have 3 of them in his van.
Funny, this didn't exist until I said "get out of my house, I'm not buying all new sensors." I still ended up having to pay for more sensors, even though the package I was quoted over the phone included enough equipment to get the job done. The installer just brushed it off that the operators that answer ADT phones were wrong and they just say those things to get the installers out. It then took 5 hours to hook up 6-7 new sensors that were wireless. All in all, it was a terrible experience and I'm very displeased with how ADT treats brand new customers.

I recently purchased a new home and it had a security system in that had been installed by ADT years before. The system was hardwired and to the best of my knowledge, worked. I called ADT about the "deal" they were giving, $100 visa card, x number of wireless things and for only $99, and monitoring for $27.99 a month. I told the person on the phone I wanted to discuss this with my husband and they were insistent that I would miss out on this deal and there would be no record of my phone conversation if I decided to call back and proceed with the offer they were trying to give me on the phone that day. Next day, a person with the company calls and tells me that he would like to offer my another deal, even though I was told no one would know what offered to me on the previous phone call. So I scheduled the appointment and paid the money to do so.
Guy shows up at my home from Defenders. He is nice, polite, looks over what is already in my home and tells me that the systems are now wireless so I would need to get something different and that what I needed in my home was actually not what they were giving me. However, I could use the "dollars" allotted to my account, any way I wanted. I was told all the equipment had a warranty, everything was covered, and if anything happened, they would replace the product if it needed to be. LONG story short, I ended up paying the guy $1200 for the equipment that was what my home needed. When he was installing, he ask for my home phone, which you have to have for the 27.99 promo price. We showed him where the line was and he began working to get everything installed.
When he was finished installing, he began to review the paperwork with me. They do this on a tablet. The gentleman was holding the tablet the entire time and did not let me hold it or read for myself. He read the documents to me, told me where to initial/sign. DUMB on my part. I am told that I will get a copy of all of this in an email. Upon receiving those, after he leaves, I see where I am being charged $48.99 a month for the service.
So after my husband and I discussed the issue, I called the same evening to cancel. I was told someone would call me the next day to help with that (this was a Thursday evening). On Friday morning, around 11am, I received a phone call and was told that they would take the price back to 27.99 and be giving a 25% discount if I would reconsider and I could call them back to let them know after talking with my husband. We actually decided to take the offer.
When I called them back to verify the information and accept their offer, I was told I would have to downgrade to be at the 27.99 price. I was confused and ask why I would be downgrading. He said the price was if I had a landline and it was also the extra charged for the "warranty" on the equipment. So I chose the 27.99 a month, I would lose the warranty and nothing was covered. If it broke or malfunction, it was my responsibility to purchase the equipment again. "Remember now, you are in a contract for 36 months if you do not cancel within 3 business days." (This is day one.)
At this point, I was livid. I told the gentleman that I was done and wanted to cancel and have it removed from my home. The had a different story every time I called. He said I needed to fax my cancellation over. I did so immediately. It was Friday afternoon, around 4pm. I called to see if it had been received and was told those people were gone to call tomorrow (Saturday). I called Saturday and they said I would have to wait until Monday. NO ONE called me on Monday. Remember, I have until Tuesday at midnight to cancel. So on Monday afternoon, I called to see if they had received my cancellation. He said they had it and ask me to make an appointment for the person to come pick up the equipment, which I made for the next day.
Guy from Defenders shows up. He has a tablet with a checklist and begins removing equipment. When he is finished, he has his tablet and wants me to sign. He has been there and removed the equipment. I told him I wanted a copy of that and he said he could not give me one, that someone would call me or I would receive an email and my refund would be processed within 5 business days. I took a picture of it with my phone.
After he leaves, I received paperwork in the mail regarding being signed up for online bill pay and for my first bill - a full month and a prorated amount of days from install. I no longer have their equipment and I never signed up for automatic withdraw off of my card. I called and told the ADT rep I had cancelled and wanted for her to confirm it had been picked up and that my account was no longer "active." I also wanted her to check on the status of my refund. She told me that she does see that my account has been cancelled and that the reason my refund is not processing is because they do not have documentation of my equipment being picked up. SURPRISE, SURPRISE! I told her I wanted to speak with the company (Defenders) and that I had his name and a picture of his tablet to prove they had been there.
She transfers me and the lady then says they do have documentation they had been there but it could take 30+ days to receive my refund on my card. I told her I wanted to speak to a supervisor. I had done everything they wanted me to do to get my money back and I was not going to wait 30 days. After arguing with me on the phone, she puts me on hold to get her supervisor. She comes back on the line and says they have made "special arrangements" to get my money back to me quickly and I would have this by this certain date, which was 4/5 days out. I said thank you and hung up. The ONLY thing good I have to say is that they money was refunded to my bank on the day they said it would be. It is a complete scam and a joke! If you really want a monitored system, I would advise looking somewhere else!

I signed up for ADT when I bought a home in Florida as the area has crime. The house had a system but I was told by a sales rep that the system was antiquated. I paid over $3,000 for a system and put the payments on my credit card. It will take me years to pay that off. I am now moving out of state and called to cancel my service. I was transferred 3 times on the phone and the customer service rep was rude and refused to transfer me to her supervisor when I asked 3 times and thus I hung up. I was told I could not cancel the service as I had signed a 3 year contract. I never signed a 3 year contract. I keep all paperwork and nowhere is this information nor did I sign such a contract, nor would I.
I feel this is a scam and being a senior, I feel taken advantage of. I do not wish to continue this service as I am moving, nor do I have further use for it. ADT is a scam and I wonder if folks should consider a class action suit for fraud! There are more complaints about this company on their FB page and many sites as this one. This is outrageous and I know a huge bill for termination will go to collection as I cannot pay the 75% termination fee which is over a thousand! Horrible way to treat people!

I had not been using my alarm because it needed service. I was afraid to call them because twice they sent a guy who was the rudest, most threatening person that I had ever been around. He yelled at me, he cussed at me, he told me he was not going to replace the batteries in the alarm, both times he was here. I told them when I called the second time not to send him. I let him in because I needed the batteries changed and I could not do it. That guy did not need to be around people, much less come into a person's home that lived alone. I did not leave my house for three days because I was afraid he was waiting on me to do harm to me. I wish I had called the police, both times.

After speaking to Defender an authorized ADT Dealer, about installing an alarm system to a home I was getting ready to sell, I now find myself spending countless HOURS on the phone with both ADT Corporate Billing Office in Jacksonville, Fl and Defender CSR team in Indianapolis, IN. I was reassured I could move my alarm system to my Colorado home once I sold my home in KC, MO. I explained there would be a delay in the move since my home in CO was a summer home. I was assured that wouldn't be a problem! Lie after lie I'm now at my wits' end. Your customer service teams do not communicate with each other. They can not schedule my move order because their calendar isn't available more than a month out. That's NOT my problem! You're passed from one group to another. No one takes ownership of a problem. I'm now billed $1216.12 for canceling my service!!! I never canceled my service. ADT canceled the service.
My installation on 2/10/16 was to include a carbon monoxide detector, it was NEVER installed! On 4/27/16 when I activated my move, the Defender rep was questioning me where it was installed. I had no clue, come to find out it was never installed. Nice! This is the customer service you receive from ADT authorize installers. Like I said, one lie after another. Back to the cancellation fee of $1216.12. First I'm told it'll be credited back in 30 days, I said this is unacceptable. She from Jacksonville, FL calls Colorado office and says, "The refund will appear in 24 hours". That was on 5/25. Today 5/27 the refund hasn't appeared. Back on the phone AGAIN, now I'm told the refund was DENIED and was reissued today 5/27. AGAIN, supposedly now it will appear on our credit card statement 5-7 business days due to Memorial Day Holiday. Up to this point ADT and their representatives have lied repeatedly to me. They can not be trusted.
They have CSR and team leads answering their request for a manager. Bryan ** a CSR told me his was the highest person to speak with in his office. He is in a call center and has no CBR # and has no time off the phone to follow up with me the customer! Really!!! Reports to a person named Landon. Landon has no direct #. I worked for a fortune 500 company for 24 years. I know a liar when I'm being lied too! My time is too valuable to sit on the phone with ADT representatives to be transferred to different departments and be lied to. At this point ADT owes me. I'm on vacation dealing with this and I'm a VERY UNSATISFIED customer. Anyone consumer reading this complaint, I'd advise you to take your business elsewhere.

I tried for two days to call SecurityAlarmNow only to be transferred automatically and set on hold for twenty minutes before the call was dropped. I called back. The same thing occurred. I emailed my cancellation of service letter but forgot to put the date I signed it. In less than a week of so called service they say I owe them $1300 for cancelling! That is 75% of a three year contract. They can't even pick up the system for another week!
I called ADT directly and they said there is nothing they can do since the contract was with a third party vendor. What kind of business is SecurityAlarmNow out of Chandler Arizona running? A much better price than ADT offered directly. But as is typical in this industry, they offer a low price in their ads or when taking your order over the phone to get their foot in the door, and then try to upsell you. For example, when the installer arrived, I was told that the low monthly monitoring fee they offered ($27.99) only included a 90 day warranty on the equipment. If I wanted a full lifetime warranty on the equipment, the monitoring fee increased by $5 or $6/month. None of that was explained on the phone when placing the order.
Also, they charged $99 for installation but offered a $100 VISA gift card as part of the package, so that installation would effectively be free. But in order to actually obtain the gift card, you had to send a copy of your contract with a cashier's check or money order for $4.95 to some company in California. So I had to make a trip to the bank to obtain a money order and mail them money in order to get my gift card 6-8 weeks later. Not a huge deal, but just another little annoyance that makes you feel like the company is nickel and diming you.

However, my wife and I were very close to cancelling the order before he was halfway through his presentation, because he was obviously not there to sell us what we thought we were getting. I received your $27.99 per month, free activation, free sensors and free gift card solicitation. I spoke to one of your salesmen on the phone who wanted to make sure we had a landline phone for this security system. The first thing we learn is that no one recommends the phone line system and it has a number of potential flaws. He was there to sell us the wireless system and he did a good job of that.
The essentially "free" system we were anticipating only cost us somewhere north of $3,000. And you can forget anything like a $27.99 monthly fee. And while I am thinking about it a $2.00 month charge for an app that ought to be at no cost also makes me a little angry. Finally, the free $100 gift card. That is an easy thing to do. A lot of products are sold that way and getting the card is not hard. I have had several. ADT makes it hard. I have to go to a bank and get a $4.95 "certified check" or a store and buy a money order. How ridiculous can you get. We purchased a product that we wanted and I think need, and I hope it works. You can rest assured that if it does not you will hear from me and you won't like it. After deciding to tear it down, and build a new house, I called to postpone our monthly monitoring service. ADT is forcing us to pay $875 for the 24 months remaining on our contract, knowing that there is no house in place. READ YOUR CONTRACT! I wasn't aware that we had signed for 3 years and have to pay on a house that doesn't exist. They say they'll give us a credit when the new house is built, while they keep our money. We were trying to cut back on some expenses, and after realizing we hadn't turned on our security system in 5 years, we decided to cut that 35.00 off our monthly expenses. So I called them and asked to stop our system monitoring. This was over a year ago, and at that time, their agent asked me why, so I told him we were cutting expenses. He asked if I would remain if they cut the expense back to 24.99. So, stupid me, I agree, kind of wondering in the back of my mind, if they can monitor for 24.99, why was I paying 36.00 all those years.
As expected, after a year, we received the notice that they were raising the rates again. So I called them and cancelled services again. This was 6 months back, and their agent said this time, he would be happy to help and said he cancelled the services. I thought it was handled 6 months ago, but today I notice a notice from my bank telling me that ADT was taking 27.00 from my account. So I called ADT to ask why when I cancelled that account. It was very confusing on my end, because their agent kept saying the 24.99 rate was no longer available. I told her I didn't care, I cancelled the service 6 months ago. She suddenly stopped talking and said since the account was in my husband's name, she couldn't cancel services. So I put my husband on the phone, and he asked to cancel services. I asked their agent if they were going to send me a refund for those 6 months. I knew they wouldn't.
So apparently the guy who cancelled my services the first time deleted it out of their system. Why, I don't know. But I suddenly remembered my mother having the same problem with ADT for a year. I would read the fine print and don't let them con you into paying a lot for the install. My home was pre-wire when we bought the place but the technician told us we would get all new equipment and everything since the package comes with so much since you pay just $99 install fee and get so many sensors free as part of the new customer deal. The lady stated they used the sensors on the windows that detect if the window is broken vs just opened.
She went around counted the windows and doors and then told me it would cost nearly $2500. I was shocked as I expected the sensors to be free. I told her nope and to use the old sensors as they are wired and do not show in the windows and doors which I preferred anyway. The technician did not have the correct adapter and had to schedule another appointment. The next appointment came and they didn't have the part again so they came back a third day to resolve. This took a lot of my time from getting the house ready as I had to be around for the ADT tech. After all is said and done, nearly a month later I have to have the bill correct to credit me as the system was not fully installed and they added ADT pulse on that I did NOT request. I too was told $100...sign up get a $100 visa gift card...then $20 a month...then after the install I went with the $800 equipment package and now pay $60 a month. My house was broken into last year. And because I don't ever want to experience that again, I bought the system. Needless to say, the system is great. It works just fine. So I gave the 2 stars. If customer service effectively did their job, I'd have put 5.
I would like to know who is responsible for the training and processing of customer service inquiries and complaints. I installed my security system in 2015 and have referred 2 of my friends to utilize service. Both referrals were processed inefficiently and incorrectly. On each referral, my friends called the correct number & provided my ticket number as instructed, and obtained service as required. On each referral, I had to make numerous follow up phone calls to correct and confirm the referral was processed correctly. Averaging at least 4 phone calls before the "customer service" representatives correctly input the referral and sent an email (?) to management to approve in order for my friend to receive their $100, and I $200.
Currently, the 2nd referral has not been completed due to the ADT/Defenders/Protect Your Home representative incorrectly processing the information. When she signed up for service, she confirmed that the referral process had been done correctly and that we would receive our rewards quickly. I've made at least 3 phone calls to ensure the accounts were connected and that the referral was being processed. Each time I've questioned the delay and I was informed it was due to an error with ADT/Defenders/Protect Your Home not processing the referral correctly. I was then told that the approval has been completed since the phone call I made earlier this morning but there is no way to expedite this process until it has reached 30+ days.
This issue is obviously commonplace if a 30+ minimum past due limit has been put into practice. If the option to manually expedite the referral reward is available, I do not see validation why an error on the company's behalf wouldn't justify this override. The representative then confirmed, "Yes this is the company's error but we cannot expedite this request since it is not 30+ days past the date of install."
I then asked to speak to a manager and was told there was no management available, and no way to contact anyone other than the rep I was speaking with. I find it hard to believe that a company of this size, in a call center where I can hear others in the background of my phone call...that no management is available. I was told that I could be placed on a list to be contacted when management was available.
This obviously didn't sit well with me, considering several former representatives not being able to correctly input a request...why should I expect this request to be processed correctly? How is this customer service? I've referred 2 people now to utilize service, have made several unnecessary phone calls to confirm the representatives are doing their jobs, and am told I'll be placed on a list for management to contact, and that nothing can be done to expedite an error due to the lack of due diligence with the company representatives? Absolutely ludicrous.
Since obtaining service I have had several other friends request information about the alarm system but I would hate to refer them to a company that devalues their customers. A company that can't input a ticket number, and a company where no one is available to ensure that my account is reflecting correctly. How does a security company that can't efficiently manage customer accounts, manage to keep my home secure? Is miscommunication and poor customer service an acceptable practice for the representatives of a security monitoring system?

I told them all I wanted was a basic installment that came with the special offer but they continue to hassle for the next two hours with the supervisor kept jumping in to give me his discount from $3000 to $1500 then to $750.
I told them I want to think about the offer then the supervisor got mad and told me the offer's only good for right now. I have had my system for two weeks as of today being 05/10/2016. The installer that installed my system on April 26, 2016 was Christian **. Told me first thing about a lifetime warranty for an additional $9 a month making my total monthly charge $36.99 a month. I was told by him that this covered everything for as long as I kept my service with ADT. By covering EVERYTHING Christian explained that it covered all equipment at NO CHARGE should anything happen to anything on the system except deliberate damage, he even said batteries were included. Christian also stated that there would be NO CHARGE for ANY SERVICE CALL as long as I owned the system since I purchased the "LIFETIME WARRANTY".
I kept asking him about this and he assured me, YES IT COVERS SERVICE CALLS, they would be free for as long as I kept my service as well as any equipment failures. This was repeated by Christian many times as I kept inquiring about this warranty that he told me about in the beginning. After about 4 hours of installation/instruction/sales pitch time my wife came home from work and was shown how the system worked. I also asked Christian in front of her about the warranty I purchased for the additional $9 per month making my total $36.99 per month.
Christian once again explained free service calls for life, no charge to me for coming out and no charge for equipment should there ever be an issue as long as I kept the $9 warranty and as long as I had service with ADT. The entire almost 4 hours of conversation WAS RECORDED from the time Christian pulled into my driveway until he left my driveway. I was also told there was no "contract stating what WAS covered and what WAS NOT covered" under my purchased lifetime warranty and again assured me anytime for as long as I had the system there would be no charge for any service call and no charge for any equipment should something happen to it.
I also told Christian my new credit card # for billing purposes which he added to my contract since my old card I used to pay for the $99 installation fee was possibly used fraudulently by another merchant after paying the fee. **NOTE PROTECT YOUR HOME OR ADT WAS NOT THE MERCHANT IN QUESTION, my bank sent me a letter letting me know that a place that I had used my card system had been compromised and cancelled that card on my behalf then sent a new one.**
Christian also set up the ADT Easy Pay option using my new card # supposedly and supposedly made it to where my payment would be due the 1st day of each month. He did explain about the pro-rated charge from April 26 through April 30, 2016 and explained that I would also be charged a month in advance making the total around $43 give or take and was told that I could call the toll free # as outlined in my booklet since he wasn't sure of the exact amount. Christian told me that the payment is usually taken out within a couple days after the installation which was fine. After that payment it supposed to have been due again on June 1st was my understanding.
On April 27, 2016 while using myadt.com I had a message stating that my credit card used for ADT Easy Pay had been declined and my ADT Easy Pay account was suspended. Not knowing the reason for this I called 1-800-689-9554 and spoke with Marceline ID # ** and recorded this call. Marceline was very helpful at first and transferred me to ADT using phone # 1-800-369-0996 for my inquiry. During the conversation with the ADT representative it was found that I was improperly charged at a rate of $48.99 per month. After reviewing my contract the representative gladly fixed the mistake and made sure it was $36.99 per month for the next 36 months and explained the pro-rated charge from April 26 through April 30 which came to around $42 and some change.
The representative of ADT then told me about my debit card which I found was my old card being used and NOT the one I gave to Christian on April 26, 2016. The representative told me I could use the one time pay option to pay the 1st bill and when I got things fixed with my bank card I could re-enroll in ADT Easy Pay. The rep also told me that if I just wanted to continue using the one pay option from here on out that I there would be a $1 fee every month which was fine with me.
She asked if there was anything else she could help me with and I then out of curiosity inquired about the extended warranty contract about what's covered/not covered. The ADT representative proceeded to tell me that I should have received a copy of my contract, which I did but it only says I purchased the limited lifetime warranty but did not say what was covered and not covered. She then told me that there is a $25 service call fee every time I call for a service appointment. I then told her that Christian told me there would be no charge for ANY service call for as long as I maintained my service with ADT and explained that this was all recorded what I was told by the Protect Your Home representative.
The ADT representative was very nice and professional about the situation and told me that if that's what I was told then Protect Your Home would have to honor what I was told and then transferred me back to Protect Your Home after asking if there's anything else she could help me with. I was transferred back to the original person I spoke with at Protect Your Home, Marceline ID # **. I explained to Marceline ID # ** what I was just told by the ADT representative about the service calls being $25 even though I purchased the LIFETIME WARRANTY. Marceline explained that there was a service call fee for the Protect Your Home service representatives to pay for gas during a service call. I explained to Marceline ID # ** that Christian told me that ALL service calls and any equipment would be NO CHARGE to me as long as I maintained my service with ADT.
Marceline ID # ** told me that there was no service call fee for the first 90 days with my system but there would be afterwards then proceeded to tell me my contract was with ADT not Protect Your Home. I tried to explain to Marceline ID # ** that's not what I was told by the installer Christian and she became very rude at that point and kept talking over me as I kept trying to explain the differences of what Christian ** a representative of the company she also works for told me something was completely different and I could prove it with the almost 4 hour recording that I have. Marceline ID # ** continued being very loud and unprofessional, trying to talk over me and not listening to anything I had to say about what Christian ** told me and told me that the line we were on was being recorded.
Like I really cared if it was recorded or not as I also recorded the conversation from the time I inquired about my card issue until the time the conversation ended with Marceline ID # **. Maybe one day we can compare recordings and the accuracy of this review with the BBB, FTC, and NCDOJ. Immediately after my conversation ended with Protect Your Home representative Marceline ID# ** I called Christian ** on his cell phone that he used to call me. Christian answered and I asked him about what he had told me about the warranty that I had purchased from him with my system. Christian acknowledged and confirmed what he'd told me about the free lifetime service calls and equipment. I then told Christian what I was told by ADT about being charged for service calls.
Christian told me that he has always told that from his managers that service calls do not cost anything and would check into it so he does not misrepresent anything to his customers. I requested Christian to call me about his findings but as of 05/10/2016 I've heard nothing from him. I actually got another bill that was attempted to have been taken out on 05/03/2016, yes this was AFTER I had paid my 1st bill on 05/01/2016 of the pro-rated charge from April 26-April 30 PLUS the first month in advance for the entire month of May 2016, TWO bills within a week of having the system. The second bill wasn't even due until May 26th 2016 however they took it upon themselves to try and take it out using the card that I've told them over and over was NO GOOD and that Christian ** had the CORRECT NEW card # because I gave it to him twice and confirmed it on my contract the day my system was installed.
Before this I called 1-800-369-0996 on 05/02/2016 to make sure Christian ** of Protect your Home had my payment date correct and it wasn't. I spoke with Kaleena told her to take my old card off myadt.com easy pay account and explained once more about my card that is on the account as I have explained to Christian ** on April 26, 2016 when he installed my system and explained that my new card supposed to have been being used. So after explaining ALL this AGAIN to ADT Billing representative Kaleena she contacted Protect Your Home representative Michael who said I wasn't eligible for paper billing?? I was confused as I did not inquire about paper billing and actually had a paper bill that was mailed to me. So again explaining to Michael about the card issue I've been experiencing YET another explanation I was told when I get a new card I could re-enroll into MyADT.com EASY Pay.
Kaleena set me up with a due date of the 1st of every month something Christian ** the installation technician/sales rep/representative of Protect Your Home supposed to have done for me on April 26, 2016 when he installed my system. So of course as the aforementioned bill I received on MyADT.com I get a bill on 05/03/2016 after Easy Pay tried to take it from the card that's absolutely NO GOOD and they supposed to have my CORRECTED number which is on my CONTRACT that Christian ** filled out not to mention only TWO days after I've ALREADY paid a month in advance. I called 1-800-369-0996 explained to Cassandra about my card issue and about the bill I JUST PAID and got yet another bill AFTER I'd already paid one!! All conversations have been recorded. I have to cancel my debit card that I gave to the installer because I have no idea what's being done or will be done with it.

My ADT tech was super friendly and knowledgeable. When he tried to upsell some more features he was not pushy at all, just told me what was available and didn't try to twist my arm when I said, "No thanks." The equipment is modern and easy to use and now I'm relaxed again when I'm on the road; I know my place is protected. I also got the fire alarm that's monitored, so now I don't even have to worry that my place will burn down without anyone knowing about it. I signed up for ADT because I heard that it was a fantastic security system. For approx. one year it was. However, about 3 months ago the alarm started going off every day and night. The police were dispatched to our home so frequently that we began to be charged for their time. I called ADT to get the service cancelled and I was told that I would need to pay $600.00 even though the system was malfunctioning.
They did offer to send a service technician, but the technician would not be able to come out to our home for several weeks and in the interim I would still be expected to pay the monthly fee. I demanded to speak with a Manager and was then "transferred" to a dead line. I called back and was never able to speak to a live person in order to get the service cancelled. This is by far the worst company I have ever been associated with and I would not recommend their service to anyone.

As a customer of ADT in three different locations we are clearly discussed with ADT's response and they have even gone as far as to blame Apple. Clearly we signed up with them because they had ADT Pulse Program for us to see our locations which we no longer can view, and are now in breach of their contract. We have spoken to everyone in ADT from tech. to upper management and they mentioned that they could not fix the problem of having a clear picture because Apple changed their format for Quicktime. With that said it seems that other alarm companies have figured it out, but ADT is unwilling to correct the problem and have continued to billed us monthly and have made no compensatory settlement.

It had not been turned on or off. While I was on hold with ADT, another call came that I missed. That caused the police to be called. Fortunately, we were able to notify them there was no problem. Initially I thought this company was going to be a great experience. After talking with the salesman and the installation technician it became apparent that there is a lot of miscommunication within the company. The selling point which led us to go with this company was how low their rates were for monitoring service and how our system was going to be free for the equipment. After the technician had already drilled holes in the wall and installed the keypad we were informed that the service which was initially quote to us for free was not going to cost us 2K. Additionally it was not mentioned, until after the system was installed, that our monthly payment was now almost double because the system was more advance than previously quoted.

As soon as it up, in January of 2016, I called to cancel my contract. I was told I had to send something in writing which I did.
Now it is May and I have talked to several people and they are all telling me that the cancellation was processed from May 11th! So now apparently I owe over $270 in back payments to ADT which they are now threatening to send over to a collection agency. I called to cancel their horrible service in January and then again in March because they told me they never received a cancellation request and now I am being told that the cancellation will not be effective till May? I am VERY disappointed in the process of my installation, not so much at the actual scheduled technician "Paul" (he was great) but the mannerism and abruptness & abrasiveness of "Justin/Jason" who showed up at my door. Did not have an ADT shirt, no badge, ball cap on backwards, nor identified himself to have anything to do with ADT - just showed up, knocked on my door, and asked for "Paul". And proceeded to enter.
Now, I have heard enough security installment problems from my father, State Trooper, and this was a red flag all over it. I did not know who/what he was, or if he was just "Paul's" buddy who happened to be stopping by. When they stepped outside for a piece of equipment, I called Defenders to ask what was going on & explained the above. The Customer Service Rep said she would call the technician (but treated it as no big deal). This is when I saw the "Justin/Jason" walk to his car and attach his badge.
Paul would be working in the laundry room to install the keypad and "Justin/Jason" was just hovering. Do this, do that. Then when his cell ran, he said (not asked) he was taking the call in my garage. My garage - why? That's where my car, power, lock boxes are. Red Flag #2. Paul had already taken me around the doors & windows to ask what I wanted and what he suggested. Now at my counter, Paul is trying to explain the different items, and they know that I called. "Justin/Jason" is trying to run the show and is still very abrupt and overpowering not only my questions directed to Paul, but also Paul's answers to those questions. Red Flag#3.
Now we are at the kitchen island, and "Justin/Jason" is continuing to act like a typical used car salesman - telling me what I want vs. what I explained I wanted. There came a point where I said "that's enough, we're done. I don't want any of it. We're done." I apologized to Paul. "Justin/Jason" jumped in, "how can you not want to be protected. You are risking your life, etc." I explained that everything was an upsell, and I was not happy with his intrusion and command. And that he was blowing this install and sale for Paul. He said well maybe he should go. And I replied "yes you should." Then came another reply of "Justin/Jason" that threw me: "this isn't the first time I have been asked to leave." Red Flag #4.
Then as he was leaving he said he would contact Paul later. Red Flag # 5 - I do not wish any repercussions on Paul, whatsoever. I must admit, I was very impressed with Paul as he continued as calm and as mannered as he was the entire time. To break the ice, I apologized to Paul, and explained my concern of the events of "Justin/Jason" and he was just as shocked he showed up. But he understood my concerns. Then I started to think about this whole scenario - and to tell you the truth, I am more concerned knowing this "Justin/Jason" guy acted like he did, I had to request him to leave, and he knows the location & layout of my home (including garage/power access) and know I feel more UNsecure than I did without a system in my home.
I work for a company and we have sub-contractors and sub-consultants. And those sub-consultants/contractors are an extension of the company. They are representing us in their performance and quality of work. They may be doing the work, but WE are the ones responsible. And we expect our subs to act as responsibly as if they worked for the company. That is why I am providing this info to the corp headquarters. I want to make sure:
1) Corporate headquarters is aware of the actions of "Justin/Jason" the so-called Area Supervisor;2) The fact that "Justin/Jason" entered a home without his ID badge or with manners;
3) "Justin/Jason" the so-called Area Supervisor stated "this is not the first time I was asked to leave" with such a non-concerned/untouchable attitude;
4) "Justin/Jason" the so-called Area Supervisor killed the sale and is the reason for my cancellation of service.
At the same time, I feel bad for Paul the technician. He was as polite and considerate (I need to step outside for this), and explained items clearly and LISTENED to what I was interested in and what my concerns of protection/security had been for me. Because of "Justin/Jason" the so-called Area Supervisor, I am cancelling my ADT account and immediately requested removal of all equipment.

The original tech did not have the proper equipment nor was he certified to install smoke detectors. Took 3 tech to install the door lock... On the evening of April 26th I received a call from an agent of Defenders, Inc. telling me that the referral would not be honored along with a phone number to call if I wanted to pursue a referral in the future. I did everything I was told to do.
This appears to be, at best, a lack of communication between services or at worst an attempt not to honor one of your programs. This is not about remuneration at this point, but a matter of principle. As a matter of fact, my neighbor knows nothing about it. At this point I would be loathe to refer anyone to ADT. I realize this a very minor incident for Defenders, inc., but it is a sad way to start a relationship with a new customer.

Needed to schedule an appt as the modem was offline and ADT pulse system was not working. Called customer service and they said the first appt was a week and a half out. My system was out and that was the best they could do. I asked for escalation. They sent me to the scheduling department and they scheduled my appt for 4 days later, better than 10 I guess.
The night before the appt, tonight, I get a message from ADT that they need to reschedule my appt send to call. I wait on hold for 5 minutes, get answered, there are no notes on my account. Then they transfer me to a queue that no one answers. After 15 minutes, I hang up, call back in, go through the automated system again and get transferred to a number that says, "I'm sorry. This number is no longer in service," and I get hung up on. This is the 2nd time I have had an issue with the system and the same failed customer experience. Trying to cancel the contract and waiting for them to confirm that they will cancel without fees, which they are now trying to charge me. Tell everyone, stay away from ADT.
After an hour and 23 minutes of horrific service. ADT has the nerve to tell me that I have to give a 30-day notice to cancel even if my system hasn't been functioning for 5 days and they cancelled my service appt. Had a similar experience in October, 1 month after the service was out in. Asked to cancel under the warranty period, I was convinced to give them another try and told if I had another terrible experience I could cancel with no penalty. They have the notes of the other issue but nowhere documented that they promised me cancellation of the service without penalty. So they are going to charge me to cancel a service that doesn't work. Stay as far away from ADT as possible. Should have read the reviews first. 2.2 out of 10 for customer experience.

ADT Contract Customers beware that ADT will automatically renew your contract INDEFINITELY after the contract has ended, even if you do not use their service or their equipment. They will continue to charge the monthly fee without your permission and without informing you that your monthly charges will accumulate. My contract ended November 2015. In May 2015, in reply to a request not to renew my contract, ADT informed me, quote “…once a contract has ended, the account it was attached to continues to renew for one-month terms indefinitely. The only difference is that there aren't any balance of contract charges after the end of the contract…” end of quote. ADT did not state that the indefinite renew for one-month terms incurs a monthly charge even if the service or equipment was not used at all. This is clearly deliberate miscommunication by ADT to its contract customers.
In December 2015, I contacted ADT again regarding removal of their equipment, unused from the day the contract ended. ADT replied they do not remove equipment after service is cancelled. At this point there is still no communication that I owe any fee to ADT. In March 2016, ADT informs that I owe fees since I did not submit cancellation in writing. Thus, without permission from the customer, ADT imposed an illegal 30 day renewal that incurs a monthly charge although the unit is clearly not in operation since contract was discontinued. This can be determined from the device logs maintained automatically by ADT. This is clearly illegal since ADT is charging for a service that it has not been requested to provide and moreover that it clearly does not provide since the equipment that provides the service is not in use since the contract terminated. Again this can clearly be determined from the device logs maintained automatically by ADT.

I have had worst experience with your company. So far it's ridiculous, and it's only been two weeks. Not what I expected from a company like yourself. Your technician was extremely rude to say the least. I have never felt so disrespected in my own home before. "Well it's clear you obviously don't love your son because you don't want to spend the 4,000 dollars for the extra equipment". My son is two. I understand he was trying to upsell me. Trust me I get it. I work in sales. My son is 2 years old, for crying out loud and that's just not something to say to people. Once everything was done and I paid for some sensors that I didn't want but felt pursued to by your rude ** technician said, "Well, glad to see you can afford 52 dollars". Just rude.
Before he left he ask for the card I wanted my monthly payment to come out of. I gave him my debit card which was different from the card I order with, and he told me I could pick two different dates for my payment to be due each month, the 15, or the 25th. I just happen to be checking my credit card statement, and long behold the monthly payment came out the wrong account on the wrong day, and maxed out my credit card.
I called customer services and she was just as much of a ** as your technician, very rude, didn't offer to help. All she did was tell me it was the tech fault. I asked for a sup, she put me on hold for around 10 minutes, came back and said, "Oh well my sup said it's the tech fault. I can get you over to the company that set you up". I declined at first because the change says ADT, not anyone else. I never got a supervisor and was transfer to another company that was closed on weekends. I had a horrible experience. I'm scared to have a emergency and to have to depend on ADT. I can only imagine what could go wrong. I wouldn't recommend you to anyone. I don't know how you have been in business so long.

3 years ago I signed up for ADT at my home. I was told by the salesman when I signed up that I could move from home to home with no issue and it's free. I even explained that I would be moving the following year. Well I moved to Houston 18 months later. Last year when I got my system installed at my new home the installer said "oh well you have a new contract for 3 more years because you moved and it starts over." Wait what? tTat's not what I was told. So I call customer service. The ladies explains how the contracts work. Then I explain "well I understand but this is what I was told" and so she says "ok well I'll make it to where you only have to finish out the time left in your original contract." I trusted that she would do as she said she would so I signed for the install and the contract because she promised I would not have any issues.
Now today a year later I call and Ruben tells me "you're under contract till 2018." Ummm no. This is a rip off. Why would I, knowing that I was going to move the following year, sign another 3 year contract instead of just paying $49 a month and be out of my contract in a year. So I ask "are there any notes?" Ruben tells me there are no notes and it did not show that I spoke to anyone last year. So I asked to speak to a supervisor. I was told that there was not a supervisor to speak to and that it could be 24-48 hours before someone calls me back. He proceed to tell me that there was nothing a supervisor could do. Because deals are made in the field and it doesn't matter what the lady told me on the phone. I have a contract till 2018.
Then after asking him a few more times about the calls and history of notes in my account, magically they appeared but conveniently without the notes from the previous year. I feel misled, lied to and I have been given the runaround. It had been 2 hours and still no call. If you are thinking about home security you might want to thnk twice about ADT Security. One of the door sensors do not line up when the sliding door is closed completely. We use a fod to activate and deactivate the alarm so we had no idea that the alarm was not working. We always thought it was working."
"A few days ago I walked in the house without deactivating the alarm and found out it was not working. Wow! I felt secure, but it was a false security. I called only to be told I should have known. Can you imagine? I was told I should have known. It was implied that I should have 'not' used the fod provided and if I armed it from inside then I would have known. I am double insulted first be the fact that I paid for years of service that I did not get. Then by the idea that I was told I should have known. I will be leaving ADT as soon as I can get another company out to install a system. I will not recommend ADT and will explain why to anyone who ask." Unhappy in Topeka Kansas
I received the following 19 Apr 2016: "Thank you for reaching out to ADT regarding your experience. I’m sorry for the concern this has caused, and we’d like to help. I’ve located your account and do not see any request for a service technician to come out and address the door sensor issue you’ve mentioned. I’d like to proceed with scheduling that and would like to know what days may work for you. The typical time frames for service are either 8-12, or 12-5 PM. Additionally, please be advised that it is a customer’s responsibility to test their system on a monthly basis. This allows us to address any concerns with your system should you happen to come across any issues with your test. The test can be done over the phone with our 24/7 technical support group at 1-800-238-2727."
I replied to the above message: I just got this email and I find that your reply is exactly what I got from your person I spoke with on the phone. She also blamed me for the botched work that I discovered. Let me address your statement, "do not see any request for a service technician to come out and address the door sensor issue". You are correct. I did not request a technician. I did not know I had an issue. Until I did. Then your phone rep told me I should have known I had an issue. Second, I was under the impression (Apparently a false impression) that if there was a problem, you would know and inform me. Third, I was NEVER ask or informed to do a system check ever, let along monthly.
You state "please be advised that it is a customer's responsibility to test their system on a monthly basis". When were you going to inform me of this responsibility? I will be curious to find out how many customers remember being ask to check their system monthly. I know several people who have ADT, I am going to ask them. I do not remember your sales rep or the installer asking me to check the system. I do remember being told that if there was an issue with the system that I would not have to worry.
I did not install the system. An ADT tech installed it. Therefore, if it was installed incorrectly ADT is responsible. The sensor being installed wrong cannot be linked to me. I reiterate, I did not install it. It seems obvious at this point that the finger of blame is pointing toward the customer. ADT does not seem to accept even the possibility that they could responsible for the improperly installed equipment.
Your phone rep ask me to PAY for a tech to come out to my house and repair something that is obviously installed wrong. She actually stated that it could be the fault of the sun and heat that caused the sensor to be offset. I have not been aware of such a phenomena that will allow a sensor to move sideways and just defy the law of nature. But who am I? I am not willing to PAY for something that was obviously installed incorrectly. I will however pay for another system from another company that promises to be responsible for a proper installation, and promises to stand behind its workmanship. The simplicity of the solution. It would have gone something like this "I am sorry Mr. **, I see you have been a valued customer and we at ADT want to make this right. We will send a technician to investigate the problem and ensure your system is working properly."

He gave me one so I had to ask him for two more then he let me know he did not place them in the yard because that was not his job. Overall I am very happy with the installation. Technician was on time, very friendly and very informative. These are the attributes that are to be expected. Be aware that the technicians are also experienced in Selling. Apparently it is part of their job to try to advise the customer of additional options, equipment and services. I would have appreciated it if I had been given an estimate of how long the job would take once the technician saw what he needed to do. Appt was set for 4:30 - 5:00. The job was not finished until after 8:30. Midway through, the tech was on the phone with his supervisor, making arrangements for him to stop by and help him complete the job. He explained to me that part of their procedure is for a supervisor to "randomly" observe a job. Be aware that there is a Lot of information and instructions that the customer will have to be prepared to absorb and notate.
I was also able to download their APP on my cell phone. The supervisor guided me through the login and registration on their site. I had not yet moved into the home so, after instructing me to arm and disarm the system, I armed it and we all left the premises. About a week later, I stopped by the home, disarmed and entered. I checked the keypad and there were messages advising of tampering, and the system would not arm. I called customer service and was guided to check the keypad messages. The agent then instructed me to reach the motion sensor, lift it off its holder and then replace it on the holder. The keypad then displayed a check mark and was ready to arm. Somehow the motion sensor was loosened after installation. No one could have entered after I left because presumably, the alarm would have been triggered.
Just mentioning this as a caution that the motion sensor should be double checked to be sure it is secure in its holder. Given the fact that the technician and his supervisor were present, instructed me to arm the system as I was leaving right behind them, there should be no doubt that the system was properly armed when we all left the residence. Yet, somehow, the motion sensor was loosened when I came back a week later.

Well, here I am writing a poor review because I have an alarm system that does not protect my property like I was promised, out of a wedding ring, locked in a contract, and lost 3 days of vacation. Wow to say the least!
