I've had ADT since 2008. If I've had a problem, I'd call them and they would guide me. I had an issue with the batteries one time and because I'm an older woman, I had to call it in and they came here and checked out my service all these years. Then some of their people stopped here once and saw my contract which states that they can't raise my rates. One of them said that they can't do that and I said I knew because I've got my contract which is always handy. After bringing that to their attention, they rolled my rates back.
I have a whole package and I can set the alarm when I leave and set it again when I come back. It works well. When our power went off during hurricane Matthew coming through here, the alarm was beeping and beeping, but the minute we got our power down I just set my code for the backend quickly and it's working fine now. I have manuals so I knew how to do this if I have to. So far I'm really satisfied, or I wouldn’t have stayed this long. As long as they treat me right, I'm fine. I have also recommended ADT and there are some new homes which now have them.

I have had very little contact since the installation as everything has been great. The few times I have contacted customer service I was taken care of courteously, promptly, and issue was solved on the spot.

Please reconsider before you purchase an alarm through this company! I recently ordered an alarm system through ADT. It has been the worst experience I have ever had with security companies. The system was installed 2 months ago and they still can't get my cameras up and running. I cannot contact Defender's local office directly, and get a constant runaround between ADT and Defender (their authorized contractor). The tech has returned claiming he needed a part and to call him to set up a time to install. I cannot get through to him or to anyone locally to have my issue resolved. BEWARE. This is a shady operation!!! By the way, you will spend thousands to have your system installed. Don't believe the advertisements to get you in the door!!!

We have ADT cameras and door alarms in our house. We're very happy and relieved to have their security system. My husband who is gone long hours is always glad when he can check the cameras and make sure all is well at home even though I'm here. We live out in the country with a lot of drugs and break-ins around here. We've had the system for five years now and I can't imagine being here and not having it.

I was gonna get an alarm when we opened up, and a gentleman from ADT came by and I signed up with him. He was very knowledgeable, did his job and was very good at it. I was here when he did the installation, and there was no problem with it. I have the basic system with the motion detector, the open door and the single camera. It seems to be a good service.

We were with ADT for ten years and they were responsive. When we had sensors go bad, they came out and repaired them. Our neighbor had a lightning strike one time that took out his system and our system but ADT fixed that. About last week we changed to a different company because it was a local company and they could provide more services at a lower cost. But ADT was fine and everything seemed to work okay with them.

The few times that I have had to have a tech come out they were on time, professional, and very helpful. Everything to me seemed like a quick fix because they were only here about 15 minutes. I never received a bill for any repair just thank you and have a nice day. What else could you ask for.

My installer was excellent and I felt very safe with him in my house. The installation went smooth. I think my only problem was the promotion I received in the mail. It needed to explain what a pre-wired sensor was. I expected to get one for every window and was shocked at how much I would be charged for each additional one. I was a little leery getting a motion sensor in place of the window ones.

I used to love ADT and thought they did a phenomenal job from the technicians going the extra mile to help you out, to the customer service reps on the phone following up other area reps to make sure my need was met. The equipment and install job was impeccable for six years that I had service with them through a hardwired system. Then, in January 2015, the third floor condo had a hot water heater bust and the water damage traveled to my unit on the ground floor and destroyed my hardwood floors, which in turn, caused repairs to include taking out the previous hard-wired ADT system. That, my friends, is when it all went downhill. When ADT tried to adamantly tell me that they don't do hard-wired systems anymore, but that they've switched to the CRAP-tastic wireless base. I can't even BEGIN to describe all of the issues we had with the "new and improved" system.
From DAY ONE, it never worked and I was constantly calling service technicians out but they couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. I'd beg every time to be switched back to hard-wire and they'd say there's no way that there'd be wires across our floors at this point with the new floors in. Lo and behold, a wonderful technician is sent to us as another last attempt to figure out our connection issue, and the technician actually says that HE DOES NOT RECOMMEND THE SYSTEM TO ANYONE AND THAT HE REVIEWED IT NEGATIVELY WHEN IT WAS IN BETA TESTING. Even ADT's own employees KNOW it's a piece of crap! The one good thing that has come out of all of this, has been that this gentleman pieced together a hard-wired base to the wireless pieces and it has been brilliant ever since. That is just the equipment issue.
The other main reason why I am so livid with this company and think they need to be fined just like Comcast, is because they have repeatedly messed up my bill, overcharged me, and totally LIED to me when I can show PROOF of why I should be charged or should be refunded. Their bills are NOT transparent, so the customer often times is not able to clearly read where the charges are coming from. Once you get past the initial setup, my experience with the automatic billing has been fine, but I am still dealing with unauthorized charges made by ADT to my bank for transfer installation after I moved, and that's after the TWO AND A HALF MONTHS of not having service, because yet again, the install guy who came INSTALLED it incorrectly! Apparently, they contract installers out who aren't always up to date on all of the equipment nor know how to operate it. It's ridiculous!
I'm so sick and tired of paying for services that I don't receive or when I receive them, it's wrong! We literally had THREE technicians come out in one day because the initial install was not done correctly, so the system kept beeping. ADT needs to be held accountable for their shady billing system and WORSE than poor training of their installers!

I already had an existing system that I had purchased from my original security service provider and I discovered that they didn't honor the agreement that they had given me. I terminated service with them and went with ADT. It was a step up in technology from the previous system, but that's understandable due to the lapse of time between my purchases of the two systems. The ADT system has always worked and it's more than adequate. The customer service reps were very accommodating to me. The installer, for whatever reason, didn't leave me an instruction manual or the stickers for the ADT system. I called and they fixed that.

So far, we're very pleased with the service of ADT. The sales reps were knowledgeable, explained the service levels, and were easy to get in contact with. They were excellent as well as the installation team. We got the security, a digital keypad, motion detector and a yard sign.

I was with Broadcom until they changed to ADT. I've had their alarm system for about four years on and off through all my houses, and when I moved here I decided I wanted an alarm system here too. The first guy who came here put in a basic system for the doors and one motion sensor. Then, later on, I had the second motion sensor and the key fob installed, and both times, they gave an excellent service. I've had false alarms but they have called me a few times. and were prompt in calling the police as well. I'm perfectly satisfied with their service and I've recommended them to several people.

My home is secure with ADT. The installation didn’t take very long and they had a very pleasant installer. Also, when I had a battery issue with one of the sensors, I called their customer service and they were very friendly.

I got the ADT keypad and sensors on all except two windows that don't need them. The installers came in and put the junction box in my crawl space, which is also wired. With the sensors in some of the windows, I have to tape them up 'cause the glues dried out over the years. But other than that, everything is normal. The cost has nearly doubled since I signed up in 1996, but I'm fine with it.

I have looked at many home securities companies, read even more reviews. Everything thus far tells me I was correct. When calling, the salesperson told me everything and more I needed to know. The technician was just as knowledgeable and was very efficient and to the point. He explained the system to me and my wife before leaving, everything working as planned. Confirmation.

We had ADT at our house and now we have it at the condo. Our package includes the security piece and we've got things set up at all the major entrances. We also have a smoke alarm detector. We had a young gentleman come here to the condo and sat down and that's how we determined what was needed. The installer had good pointers, too. He encouraged us to keep the bathroom door closed so the steam wouldn't impact the smoke alarm right outside the door.
We once had our neighbor slammed his door really hard one day which set off our alert. They were very prompt in contacting us so at least I know it works. It was nice to know because I was over an hour away at that time so it wasn't like I could get home and shut it off. They shut it off but sent the police out to take a look around and I appreciated that. It seems like they kind of adjusted the sensitivity, too, because we feel like there are times where it was really sensitive and now it's a little less sensitive. Overall, they've given me excellent service.

I recently got the ADT wireless Pulse cameras. The wired was a little better because I've been having problems here and there with the Pulse. I also have the two keypads, one that’s upstairs and one that’s downstairs. The one downstairs is a smaller one but there's no speaker on it. I can barely hear it, so there should be a volume button on it so I can either turn it up or down. But overall, it is doing what it's supposed to do. Their reps have been great. I call and they either help me out or tell me how to fix whatever the problem was.

So last July after 20 or 30 years with ADT I determined what it was costing me was not worth the benefit I was receiving. So I called ADT and canceled my subscription. I was told there would be a waiting period to cancel because of the way that you billed so I paid the additional time for the bill to cancel. Next you sent me an offer to install a new system, give me more sensors and reactivate the system. Also you would give me a $100.00 VISA card and charge me $19.95 a month for the first year. Gave it a lot of thought. Sounded good to add to my present system with an additional set of sensors which would double my sensors and still cost me less. So I called and we set up an appointment.
When he got here he told me my old sensors would not work with the new system so I was right back to the size I started with. Then he did not tell me that in order to get the $19.95 a month I had to get the landline. That may have been I found out later because it was two different companies. That did not bother me because I had a land line up until then. He installed the new system and left. I now had a system basically like I had except now instead of paying $30.00 a month I was going to be charged $50.00 a month. So you can see how ahead of the game I was getting.
Then I got the bill for $50.00 a month with no discount. Back on the phone. This was an experience. I talked with the guy and he said no problem but had to connect me to someone else first. When he did I ended up on hold. That was for over a half an hour before I hung up and called back again. This time I got a woman. After explaining my situation to her she informed me I could not do the discount. We argued for a little while. I could not get to her supervisor and finally she connected me to someone else. I think she was tired of listening to me. Just happened to be the same guy I was on the phone with earlier.
He informed me I could do what I wanted but had to set up an appointment for a landline. Also to get the discount, they would send me a check for the full amount of the discount and then bill me the full amount because they were really two different companies. I agreed because I had already had your new system installed and had a contract. He set up an appointment for the guy to come and change my setup back to a landline. That is when I found out more about the two different companies.
All that was left was the VISA card so I printed out the certificate and then called the company because I had to send a certified check and they were going to charge me $4.95 for the card. Also found out that this was a third company I was dealing with. Again after more than a half hour on the phone, I got the girl to waive the fee so hopefully someday I will receive the VISA card with $100.00 on it.
Then the topper. I wanted a paper invoice bill like I had before and I was told that to get the same thing I had a month earlier, it was going to cost me an additional $3.00 a month. So in the end I now have a $40.00+ system that replaced my $28.00 system that I thought was too much and I still have the same basic setup I had before the deal.
No, I am not happy but I signed a contract and I will honor it. Only good for three years so you can recover your costs. I understand that. Would I recommend you to anyone else? NO WAY. I really feel got the short end of a bad deal. At least a bad deal for me. Your company made out good. This is the short story. Really do not have time for the long one but I am sure you get the idea. Do I expect anything to come of this? NO, but now I feel a little better.

ADT promised $50 gift card for signing up and $50 to each person that I recommended if they signed up. 2 friends signed up but we all got suckered. No one received the gift card even after several phone calls. This is not the best way to start doing business with a customer. But overall ADT is the best system on the market. I tried 2 other providers and sometimes I wondered if I even had a working security system. They never responded to alarm system alerts even false ones in a timely manner if at all. ADT is the best I know, they are always monitoring the system and they will respond when needed. I do feel safe and will never use any other system.

When I took over the home I was told I needed to complete the 2 yr contract at $45/month that was already in place. 50% more expensive than my previous home and service that was excellent. When I went to cancel after that period I was told that contract restarted when it was switched to my name and I would be charged a cancellation fee. I spoke with a manager named Sydney who would not give out her last name and her reply was simple "It didn't matter what you were told. This is the way we do business." Very disappointing customer service.

My experience with ADT's sales reps was very positive and it was also wonderful with their installation team. The installation went really well though it took all day but that’s because of the alarm system. We’re very happy with ADT. I have no problems with it at all and I love it.

I have an alarm system from ADT for the house so if somebody opens the door, the system gets upset. Their sales reps and the guy who installed the system were very nice, and my experience with them has been good.

We already had a security service by Brinks, so we didn't have a choice but to move to ADT. When they came to put in the updates, we had a problem with the alarm going off, but they came out a second time and resolved it. The techs were helpful and they explained things with the new one. We have been satisfied with it over the years that we've had Brinks or through ADT. We would recommend them.

Overall very satisfied with the service and product. We have had an issue with false activations from one particular Motion Detector. However, the service recovery by the Technician (Chris) has been outstanding. Equipment issues do occur, but the timely and professional actions are greatly appreciated.

I’ve had ADT since back in the ‘90s. We currently have the smoke and CO detectors, cameras, and door sensors in our service package. The installer was fine and did a nice job. We’re satisfied with the service.

I had a home alarm system I'd installed myself, and it wasn't working well. I decided to try something that would have coverage. I purchased live monitoring with ADT. The only problem I had with the installation was that the fellows who ran the door alarms just draped the cables under the house in a big loop. I complained about that and they sent somebody out right away and rerun them all and stapled them to the joist under the house. Any problem I had, they took care of it right away. I requested some new yard signs online and it was just three or four days when the postman delivered them.

When looking at other service such yours, the cost of your service is almost double. Also I have my alarm go off at my house twice and there has not been an police officer to come to house either time. One time I left work to come home to check the house out myself.

I called to ask how to transfer existing services to our new home. I asked if I could bring the sensors but leave the key pad on the wall (to avoid leaving hole in the wall) and they said yes I will be able to use search sensors in addition to new keypad at new home. I also asked if my monthly charge would remain the same, she said yes. The tech arrived a few day later with a price of 48.99 (I was paying $29). He told me he couldn't lower it so I called the company while he was here. They would not budge even though I agreed to leave old key pad at old house only because they said the monthly fee wouldn't change.
The tech also said he could not use the sensors that the woman told me I could bring over to use. He Said it was outdated and wouldn't be compatible. These phone calls were supposedly all recorded. I would like someone to look into this and call me promptly. I also would like to cancel my services (like the tech told me I had 30 days to decide to do so).

Worst company I have ever dealt with. They have lied since day 1. Made it impossible to cancel my account even after trying within 3 days and has since told me there is nothing I can do about their false salesmanship. The alarm has been broken since the week it was installed.

We've had ADT for as long as I can remember and their service has been perfect. We've had no problems with it at all. At night or if we leave, we can leave the house locked with ADT. It doesn’t mess up and it's a great system.

The cameras go in and out every so often, sometimes I can't view them. But otherwise, I get notifications when I walk in the door and when I leave. The sales representative was actually great. When he first came by after setting an appointment, he explained everything thoroughly. He was punctual, and came by on the day of the installation just to make sure that everything got done without a hitch. I felt that was above and beyond. The installer was fantastic. He did the initial setup and showed me everything as he installed it. He showed me the cameras and how to work the website. He was also earlier than I was for our appointment, which was great.

We went with ADT because it's a more reputable company. I have the service for two years now and they're prompt. I called them one day and they came the next. However, I've not received the Visa gift card for referring someone. My daughter was supposed to get one for getting the service and I’m supposed to get one for referring her.

The service and the installation was very bad and was not done properly and the people on the phone was that too kind. I have been with ADT before for three years. Never had such bad problems and bad attitude by people on the phone and who came out to service.

We paid $887.65 for the equipment to be assured we would not need to sign a contract. After a year and 4 months of service, I tried to disconnect the service and they said I needed to pay a cancellation fee of almost $1,000.00. I told them No, I do not have a cancellation fee. The salesman asked my husband to write his signature and initial on an iPad for our original purchase of the equipment and monthly monitoring service. NOTHING WAS MENTIONED ABOUT A CONTRACT. Again, we told him that we do not want any installment payment nor contract so he told us if we purchased the equipment he can do that, all we need to pay for is the monthly monitoring fee.
When I called for the cancellation I was told for the first time that we were under a contract. The salesman used DocuSign for my husband's signature and initial to make the false "contract" and put his signature on lines that he did NOT go over with him. We also never received a copy of this "contract." How can a Company that claims to be a Security Company, protecting people from thieves actually be a blatant thief themselves. Stealing my money and lying about it is sad and I will never have any relationship with ADT nor will I ever recommend ADT services to anyone.

Had new security system installed. Was quickly installed and explanations on usage given. Was tested and worked well. Time will tell. Haven't had any need yet to contact customer service so can't rate their response to my questions if any.

I have known about ADT for a long time and they have a better reputation over other security service providers. Before using them, we used another provider from Long Island and it wasn’t as good. ADT's attitude is very professional. They solved the issue of batteries going out.

ADT install - Guys were great. Just took longer than I thought. They came on Friday at 2:30 and I asked them to go at 8:00. One person came back on Monday to finish the job and was here from 9:30 to 3:00. Then he showed me how to put in codes and change them. He also showed me how to use the remote.

Not happy. The phone quote that was given to me it's not the same as what's on the contract. A different amount. You tell me the bill's going to be $239.40 for the whole year. We kept asking Evans how much do we owe you. We need to write the check. He said we will owe nothing but you see they bill to be a matter fact and they say that we will have 2 more bills for inspection. Someone is not telling the truth. So I need to speak to someone soon as possible either after the hurricane.

The technician was very prompt. He was very professional the three hours that he was here. Made sure that we understood the system and how to use it. Told me once how to activate medical alert button. Did not do a test. Hopefully I won't need to use it.

Prior to the system being installed, we were given a quote of over $3,000. When I said we would not pay this amount, several items were deleted and the amount was reduced to $1,200. We were subsequently advised by neighbors that they paid nothing or $500. When I asked for operating instructions, Steven ** advised that he was in a hurry because he had two other installations he needed to do. He gave us his phone number and said we could call him at any time if we needed help. We called him for information, but he never returned the call. I think that we were overcharged and am disappointed that the installer did not return the phone call.

I was told the install would only take about 2 hours. It actually took almost 5 and the installer was in my home until about 11pm. Within less than 2 weeks I had to make many calls to customer service and there were 2 other people sent out to change equipment that did not work for my home. I was told different stories every time I spoke to someone new and when someone came into my home. I now have 5 holes in my walls that I will be left responsible to repair. The alarm has been triggered falsely because of equipment that was not explained correctly and did not work for my home.

Misleading. I received a promotion of $850.00 of free equipment and $27.99 per month. That turned into $5512.00 for Equipment and $52.99 per month for proper protection. That is a very substantial difference.

Ok so ADT have this policy that said that the customer have until the midnight of the 3rd business day to make a free cancellation, but what happened my dear customers or future customers they don't staying behind their own policy, because if you fill the cancellation form on the third day after post office closed (around 5:58pm) and/or you don't have a fax machine you are pretty much **! Even if you have already talked to them before sended the letter (where everything should be recorded), because then you have to send the letter on the next day (marking the 4th day).
And then they will call you and said that "because the letter have an stamp for the 4th day if you cancel it right now you will have to pay the 75% fee of the owning contract," so then you explain how everything happened and also tell them about the phone call and one they said "we don't have anything noted" and two "pretty much is not my fault so either you pay the fee or you stay with us." My advice to the future customers is just read everything before signing and after signing. Today was me but tomorrow could be you. I should ask an opinion from a lawyer. What you guys think?

ADT seemed they had a good plan and their rep followed up when I called them so I went with them. The most positive part of the service was their rep was very knowledgeable and explained things well. Everything is good with ADT and I have recommended them.

We used to have Brink's and then we got to ADT. Everybody we know had ADT and therefore we went with it and have been using it for 20 years now. We have another home in Nevada and I tried to get a hold of somebody from ADT to come out and put in a system. It was really hard, but once we got them it was great. We recently had a break in and nobody responded. After they see a break in or because we called them and told them about it, I was thinking they would do a follow up call like, "Is everything working okay?" We wanted somebody to come out and reevaluate our system and put in some more motion detectors, which they did. But another thing I wanted was to be able to tell ADT who was here and what they did but the guy who came out didn't give out his business card saying he's not allowed and maybe because they don’t want us calling him directly, which wasn’t my point.
There was a time they called and kept calling to try and get me in and I didn’t answer my phone. Then they called my husband and he didn’t answer his phone and then when this all went down, they asked to put in their number as ADT so when it comes up we'll know who it is. So we did that and we're better prepared now for in case that it's happened. We feel secure.

Initial conversation with telephone salesperson was misleading about the monitoring fee causing me to obtain a landline contract which was not needed. The alarm package was pricey even with introductory offer.

I replaced my old ADT alarm system in July 2016 with ADT protection which required a new account. I attempted to close the old account twice with no success even though I was able to verify all my personal info except the password created 8 years prior. I was told to send a signed letter requesting cancellation. ADT still did not close the account. Now in October I was finally able to cancel by getting someone in the service center that actually knew what they were doing. Except I've now paid ADT for 3 months of service on the old account as well as the past 3 months on my new account. Ripped off over $150 from me. Thanks ADT.

Unable to get anyone to service us with problems we've had. Would not recommend ADT to anyone. Cannot wait for our contract to be up so we can go with someone that will service what they sell. Hope no one makes the mistake of going with ADT like we did. Terrible company.

Have home security system installed, including outside video monitoring. Sale rep hooked us in on everything. Day of installation, techs completely revamped plan, said wired can't be done and put wireless. I'm a multi-floor, keypad is on 2nd floor, so can never put alarm on since my MIL handicap and can't get upstairs to disarm the alarm. And doesn't give enough time for anyone to run up. Never turn alarm on yet!!! THEN, Vedic system techs put on corn of each point close to entryway, but doesn't have the aim of the door and these camera cannot move!!!
ALSO we had new window installed, took sensors off, had them talk me through a power down of system and called them to come back and help with resetting system with correct sensors of zones. GUESS WHAT, THEY CHARGE 150 first hour and $39 for EVERY 15 min after!! Oh and to cancel my account, I have to pay over $1000. I just finished paying off $3800 on equipment and install and now they want me to pay more to fix their mess!! COMPLETELY DISGUSTED WITH THIS COMPANY!! Don't use them!

I have no problem with the ADT service and monitoring. The installation was a little disappointing. I was not told ahead of time they needed an outlet where the panel was going to be mounted. The tech just put it on a little stand and plugged it into a wall in the dining room. I put an outlet by the door and mounted the panel myself. Then the sensors were mounted with double sided sticky tape and the main door where we come in was mounted too close and it fell off. I had to have a tech come back to mount the sensor again. :(

Our experiences with ADT, especially the installation, have been exceptional. The system was installed on 23 March 2016. During the installation, although the house was prewired for a security system, the installer ran into several problems. The installer and his manager, however, determined a way to resolve the problems and complete the installation. The resulting installation was excellent. We believe the names of the installer and his manager are Tom ** and Dennis **. Hopefully we have the correct names. We use our ADT system every day and feel secure at night or when we are away from our home. Again, our experiences with ADT are exceptional and we continue to highly recommend ADT to others who are considering a home security system.

We were used to a PEO, this is a little different, but better get all your questions answered up front because the support staff seems to disappear after setting things up. Confusing bills and accounting system, all charges come on different bills & very hard to log into accounting software. Employees have no support as it is your responsibility as administrator.

I had alarms come on periodically, and their response time is real good. I also had a camera put in and the technician was good. Overall, my experience has been excellent for the 9 years that I've ADT.

Company has no regard or respect for its customers. I had a system installed 10/28/2016. Still not working. Spent 3 days imprisoned in my home waiting for service techs to come & finish install. Severe lack of communication between company techs & customer!!! Called again last night and had me on hold for 1 1/2, with no response. I'm done! Cancelling contract today, want full refund, holes in my walls fixed, and removal of equipment for breach of contract!! Will absolutely never recommend your service to anyone!!

ADT seemed like they really knew what they were talking about, and are tied in with the fire and police departments, which I thought was great. It was an absolutely great experience with them. Knowing that I had this security system and that I could go somewhere and everything would be all right was a big asset to my way of life.
However, we realized after five years that we don't need it. We had a problem and it wasn't with the system. It was this real bad lightning storm that knocked our phones out and messed our lights up. We have alarms going off, and we didn't want the fire company to come again as they've been here twice because of smoke from my cooking. Additionally, when I have a problem and I call, they run me through so many different channels. My wife had to call twice the other night, and they disconnected her. It was like the girl she was talking to didn't want to even talk to her. But apart from that, I would recommend you.

It took the installer over 7 hours to install the system and he needed to call in other people to come help. Panel is flimsy and looks cheap. Wish I went with a different company. ADT is making a mistake by associating its name with Defenders - they are horrible.

I've had ADT for about nine years. I have sometimes been forgetful to turn off the alarm & they have notified me to make sure everything was all right. When I will be away, I always contact ADT to let them know so that they will be aware that no one will be home should something happen with all contact numbers. Couldn't ask for a better company.

I have been an ADT customer for less than 2 months. I have had numerous problems already. My alarm wasn't even set and it malfunctioned and went off... numerous times even at 2 or 4 in the morning. I made a number of calls and no one helped. And now I am getting false positive burglar all alarms at 3 or even in the morning. ADT refuses to give me my money back and a tech can only come out certain days a week. ADT shows no intention on helping me get the matter resolved. I don't feel safe and I am afraid to even turn my alarm on now because it goes off when it wants to. I want ADT to take their stupid system back and give me my money back. It's ridiculous.

We were mislead about the fact that our special price on monthly billing was based on a wireless system. We were billed on a credit card that was not authorized, and it was too much and when we called about it we were told our system should have been on a landline for the special price. Totally different than what the installer told us. I'm still waiting on a call from Dallas to settle this matter.

The installer did a great job. However, the sales people led me to believe that the installer would be at our house at 11 and gone by 1. He arrived right before 11 but did not leave until around 3. He explained that the 11-1 was his arrival window. The sales people were pushy and not clear in what to expect. That said, we are happy with our system overall.

Why does the system take so long to sound the alarm. Is there a way to set it when you are in for the night to alarm immediately if one of the doors are opened? I have asked this question to a couple of the service people over the years but, did not get much of an answer. If this is possible please tell me what I need to do. Also when is my contract up?

Gary installed the service, then returned a few months later to correct a problem. Both service calls were done professionally and thoroughly. He made certain I could operate the system and that I understood what he did. This is our second home, and as I was getting ready to leave the smoke detector went haywire. It would not shut off, then the panel would not reset. I called customer service, and the time frame for when they could send someone out was several days after I had to leave. Gary took a side trip to attend to my issue on a Saturday, fixed the problem promptly and was off. The best part of this was that Gary was calm, reassuring, "no problem." I got great service and the sense that it was just part of his work to make sure my system worked. One great, big "atta boy" for Gary.

I already wrote a scathing review which included the fact that my entire house is not currently protected... the installer was MORE INTERESTED IN "AFTER SELL/UPGRADES." I felt you are promoting a bait and switch policy via advertisements. When the installer removed part of my drapery via his installation and I requested him to replace the pleats back on the drapery rod as he had found it... his answer was: "No I'm too short!" I have a panel for "show" in my bedroom. Upon his return to rectify what I thought was AN INOPERABLE SYSTEM he verified my panel serves no current purpose. I wish you would contact me!

I contacted ADT and they said they had lost signal. They were unable to fix it online so they sent JR, our installer, and he came when promised. He reset the alarm and explained what happened. We are very happy with the service, and especially JR.

I've known the ADT for quite some time, but we were with Devcon and they were bought out by ADT. Everything's been fine, and working all right. They upgraded a little bit. I've got the motion system inside, and then the doors have a sensor on them. I got battery backup, and the motion system has gotten some wireless system in it. Moreover, it can contact me all if the power goes out. Their technician was really good, very professional, and easy to talk to. He explained what he was doing. Plus, when we have had an issue, ADT have always called to see if everything's okay. I also like my billing as automatic. I've been very pleased, ADT works as I want it to.

I recently fell and ADT had people here within minutes. I've fallen twice and had to push the button, and they get the message out. They get the EMTs, my daughter, and they talk to me too that's why I know I'm not alone. ADT has been very good.

Serviceman had alarm inactive for over 1 hour and 45 mins. He sat in our kitchen writing up a sales pitch. Only one fob was given to us. Installed new system without taking out old system. Did not bother cleaning up his mess, saw dust included. Installation took 3 hours and 40 mins. After the 36 month commitment we will be going with Time Warner package.

I did not get my 100 dollar customer reward that I was told I would receive after making a special deal for my set up at my house and in many times that I have called customer service, I have received nothing in return except for an assistant stating to me on the phone that there is no plan that I have gotten which costed me more than I was told. That doesn't exist in their system.

ADT did not meet our expectations. We had a wired, working Security System. It only was not connected. It took the nosy ADT authorized installer more than 5 hours just to replace the central unit and the keypad. He wanted to see everything including the walk-ins my wife denied access. He further claimed windows and doors were not safe (we have double pane Anderson windows and some of the best doors on the market) and THIS is NONE of his business. A vast amount of time he spent on his cell phone and rather than installing the basic system we had ordered and wanted. He initially installed a more expensive system with a monthly fee of $52.99 rather than $27.99. He tried to talk us into the more expensive system. We declined. I was close to cancel the entire installation when he gave in.
After he finally had finished the installation he explained the system: use Stay to arm the system overnight and Away to arm the system when you leave the house, BUT there is actually NO DIFFERENCE between the two since he did NOT connect the interior motion sensor (only active with Away), which I found out later. For our 3800 sf house he offered 1 (one) free heat detector (but said he had to call his boss to get permission). This happened after the installation was done. We declined since we were already 5 hours into the installation and we have three wired heat detectors, but now, they DO NOT WORK anymore obviously NOT connected.
Bottom Line: we now have less security than before: no motion sensor, no heat detectors! Sure, we are now connected to ADT, but how long does it take police or security personnel to be onsite after the alarm goes off? And the $100 Visa Card offered with purchase of a new system? Here is the ridiculous procedure to get it: Make a copy of the contract, get a special form from the WEB, fill it out and sign it, obtain a $4.95 cashier check or money order (shipping & handling fee for the Visa Card) and mail these three items to a P.O. Box in Encinitas, CA. Outrageous! Why not deduct the $4.95 fee from the Visa Card or even better simply offer a $95 Visa card? Guess for many it will be too much trouble to obtain everything required -- and ADT saves $100.

ADT has tried bait-and-switch many times after they sold me an "upgrade" in March of 2016. I have called and called numerous times to have a manager call me back but it never happens. Some of the "loyalty group" that I have talked to even have given me fake phone numbers to call back "if you don't hear back from us." One service person "Chad" said he would call back "within 24 hours" and here it is two months later and no call. I called back last month and asked to speak to Chad's manager and was informed that ADT "has rules and procedures and ONLY Chad could help you!" Funny that "only Chad could help" me but he never calls but I have to wait for a call that does not happen!
Many of ADT service Techs and service managers informed me that the "panel should have been replaced" when I paid for the upgrade but no one will do it! Now 7 months later some non-tech says "We reviewed your case (after 8 months!) and decided you don't need a new panel." Wow, and here I have had over 8 service calls where I take time off from work and they show up and try and up-sell me or say they don't have the part they should have or offer to sell me something extra for $440. Amazing they can stay in business with this level of service!

I like ADT's pricing and service which has been mostly positive for the four years that I've had them as my business security service provider. They took the time in telling me what to do – how to set up the system and how to change the numbers. That was important.

I got movement sensors a few years ago and I'm happy with it. However, the first guys that came here to install did not have anything on their person that signified ADT. I'm a County Sheriff's Deputy so I look for that. I had to call the guy that sold me the system and say I didn't know who they were, and he told me to let them in so they did it. Any workman I ever had come in my house, I always took a picture of them. The only workmen who's ever gotten pissed off that I did that was the ADT guys who installed the system, and they were cranky the rest of the installation.
But I've had people come out to help me to change the batteries, and somebody had to come out and change something in the keypad because they upgraded it. He was really nice. Everybody who's ever come out here has always been very quick, friendly and knew what they were doing in and out. I like ADT and I trust them. I've talked to other security people, but I'm sticking with them.

I was told I would pay for hardware installation for two yrs then reduce 15 dollars. I have not upgraded hardware. Representative never heard of such a thing and reduced bill minor. Five yrs later same payment pretty much as when started.

We've had ADT for many years. We had it when we lived in Mississipi then when we moved to Texas, the system was already installed. It was not ADT at the time, but it automatically transferred over to ADT after some time. The service has been fine and we haven't had any problems.

Every time I have spoken with someone from ADT it has been an unpleasant experience. The hold time is ridiculous. The customer service representatives are rude and condescending. The amount of my bill seems to change every other month or so. I recently found out that I am locked into a 3 year contract that cannot be broken even if I move out of the state. When I first inquired about service I discussed a 1 year contract. When I questioned the representative about this I was told that unless I had something in writing stating it was a 1 year contract there is nothing I can do and I would have to pay thousands of dollars to buy out of the contract. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ADT TO ANYONE I CARE ABOUT.

I really loved my service. Initially I didn't have any issues. Recently I didn't receive a call about my alarm going off therefore that was a bit concerning. Luckily there was no break in. Otherwise I would give 5 stars.

I have had zero issues with using my ADT. They are quick to call if an alarm goes off and very easy to deal with. They are willing to try and cancel those responding if an alarm is activated in error. Would recommend to anyone.

I was retired from the Marine Corps and I heard about ADT through some place relative to being a retired officer. I had put my ADT in 2006 and it has been fine. I haven't had any problems with it. I've been satisfied.

I was switched over to ADT because I originally was with Brinks which was bought by some other company, and that company was then bought by ADT. I haven't had any problems with ADT and the system works great.

As always we need to do things at the last minute, I noticed that before leaving on a business trip a new code was necessary, therefore, I called ADT customer support and immediately the representative was very helpful giving the right directions on how to set-up the new code. I saved some time and the step by step help was greatly appreciated.

ADT home security misrepresents their pricing and lies about the discount you'll get on your homeowner's insurance. The installer who came to our house talked about windows and doors that were "high threats" but never mentions that adding windows and doors above the basic package—which was never fully explained—racks up huge equipment costs. The installer unsuccessfully tried to sell me $4,000 worth of extra equipment. He constantly tried up sell me during the entire installation, often using the used car salesman gimmick of saying, "Let me call my manager and see what I can do for you." He said three time, "By adding the smoke detector, you'll get a 20% discount on your homeowner's insurance." My Safeco home insurance rep said, "I don't know why they keep telling people they'll get those discounts. It's not true." I got a total discount from Safeco of $16 on my $1,054 homeowner's policy. ADT's business practices are slimy.

ADT is the worst company I have EVER had to deal with. A tenant signed a contract and I got stuck with paying the fees for THREE YEARS. When I finally got someone on the phone, they told me there was nothing they could do. I WILL TELL EVERYONE I KNOW TO NEVER, EVER DO BUSINESS WITH ADT AGAIN!!!

So far I am very pleased with the system and feel better sleeping at night. I feel better leaving my fur-babies at home when I need to leave. Downside, I have noticed that a few times that when I come home and open a door, the alarm does not sound off like it normally does. It concerns me that if I'm home asleep and someone comes through the door, I won't know because the alarm does not sound off. I believe it still counts down the time to punch in my code but no sound is made. There seems to be a delay now and then when I try to turn on the alarm (especially for a "stay" alarm) and it actually turns on. Overall, I'm happy with it and it does seem to work. There are just a few glitches now and then.

We were promptly notified by email when our alarm system was activated. We were also notified by email when the alarm deactivated. The response was great. We are totally satisfied with the response of ADT with the alarm notification system that is currently in place.

Well now that I am several months in to ADT I have to say, I am just not impressed. Started with install. I was not happy with that. I expressed that to someone when I spoke to the at your support center. Then I never got my check I was told I was getting. Then I have had issues with the keypad. Then What a silly idea to have a remote disable that when you use the disable it is so loud it wakes the household when it is after hours. And among other things it simply appears that ADT has made this process so easy if you wish to call it that for the consumer but it's really easy for the install process.
I just can't believe what I have in my home today vs. what I had 8 years ago. Even the siren is a mickey mouse thing built in this box. WOW come on ADT you guys have to do better. It really doesn't matter to me if you tell the consumer if we are getting a $3500 deal, if the garbage you are putting in my house is worthless. I can't ever get started on the video portion.

ADT did add an additional camera to the front of the house; but not the rear of the house. The one camera in the back only covers the back patio door. I have a stairway leading to my basement entrance, which is not covered by a camera.

The salesman/installer mislead me by stating one outdoor camera would cover the entire front of my home and one would cover the rear. I found out later that the maximum distance for their cameras is 15 feet. Coverage area of the video cameras would have affected my decision on agreeing to install the system that I have. Not happy about being misinformed.

I moved to Knoxville over a year ago. The home that I purchased had in place an aged, wired-in, non-functional security system. Being unfamiliar with my new environs, I felt a certain anxiety living here alone, dog notwithstanding. Shortly after moving in I was contacted by an ADT rep. He gave a very clear and concise explanation of ADT services and did not apply any pressure for me to sign up, which I appreciated. After I selected the plan best for my needs, the rep installed the wireless equipment. In just a few hours the alarm system was up and running.
For over a year I have enjoyed the peace of mind that comes from using the ADT service. The equipment and wireless connections to ADT monitoring have passed every test that I have made. I can check the status of my home security through the app on my phone, which is wonderfully reassuring when I am not at home and particularly when I am traveling. Best of all, I can sleep soundly in my own bed. Thanks, ADT!

After my son recommended ADT to me, I did research on several companies, before I went wth ADT. It started bad with the sales representative, however, it ended up fine and it was not all his fault. It was a very bad time then for me. My husband had just passed away and I got this salesman who is very nice, but he was a little bit high-pressured and pushy, and I had a son here who was also high-pressured and pushy. I finally had to blow it on both of them and said, "Back off and listen to me on what I want." Then, it went fine. The installer came out to our home and he was excellent, just outstanding. So far, I've had no problems. Everything has worked fine. The ADT system does add to my sense of security and I appreciate that.

I had Brink's Home Security and then it morphed over to ADT. Their installation team was very professional. They asked what I wanted so it's always good for people to listen rather than just talk. I wanted some motion detectors and specific things so they listened to me and we got the package that I wanted. There have been some unexplained times when the alarm system has gone off and I've been away from the house. It's a little unnerving to go into your house when you've been alerted that the alarm went off. I border a public park, I am not afraid of things but there's plenty of people and it makes you feel better knowing you have a security system.

The service from ADT has been excellent so far. The fire and burglary alarm features are included in the package. We bought it years ago and replaced it just a few months ago, but we've been very happy with it. The installers were nice, fast and efficient. We've had several calls when we were recently out of town. The alarm went off on a Sunday and ADT's team called the sheriff, but ADT got everything straightened out which was wonderful. They even called the next day to make sure everything was okay.

We have had ADT for many years (from back when it was Brinks) and really like the peace of mind it gives us, when we are away from home, and during the night. We have always had good service, prompt answers to phone questions/problems, and someone coming right out the few times this has been necessary. It would be great, however, if there were some way to prevent so-called "reps" who come to our home, saying they represent ADT, that their company has taken over ADT, that our service will be discontinued if we don't sign with them, etc. etc. We have learned to disregard these people, but it continues to be very annoying and upsetting.

I first registered with ADT in October of 2015. Myself and my girlfriend were satisfied with the service and decided we wanted to continue with the service when we moved in June of 2016. My girlfriend called ADT to notify them that we were moving and inquire about moving services. Apparently, ADT does not "move" a service, the existing service has to be cancelled and a new contract must be started up. We thought this was a bizarre system, however decided that we enjoyed the service and decided to go with it. My girlfriend set up a date with ADT to install the new service to our new place and was reassured that there would be no extra charges and that the billing would be the same as our previous (where our monthly bill would be taken directly from my credit card).
Our ADT system was installed and everything seemed to be great, until we received a letter in the mail a few months later stating that we owed ADT a total of $278.00!!! My girlfriend called in and they said that we were still getting charged to my credit card for our previous alarm system and that our new systems bills were in fact not being taken from my credit card. We immediately paid the current balance and ADT customer service apologized for their mess-up and said to my girlfriend that the old service was now cancelled and to have myself (the account holder) to call the financial department to receive my refund for the old system we were still getting charged monthly for.
Although very inconvenient, I called customer service to receive my refund, only to have a very rude agent named Julie tell me that the old account was still not cancelled and that they would not refund me for it because our new service is under my girlfriend's name and not mine like the previous one was. I asked to speak to her supervisor and while I was put on hold the line was disconnected! I then got a call back saying that the account was canceled but that I still wouldn't be issued a refund. I then asked ONCE AGAIN to speak to the supervisor and they put me on hold only to a dead end mailbox asking for the mailbox number that he never gave me!!!
ADT doesn't to a good job at protecting your property as they're the ones robbing you!!! The second this "new" contract is up we will be cancelling our services with this terrible company. OH, side note, the cancellation fee is $1200!!! I will never recommend this company to my friends or family, BEWARE of ADT.

The multiple calls to Customer Service resulted in little or no results. They are rude and do not care about their customers. After threatening an attorney due to they're not living up to their end of the contract, found results. A technician was sent to my home and their faulty sensor installed initially finally was replaced by a courteous and capable technician. You should FIRE most of your Customer Service Techs because they do NOT take care of your customers.

We've been ADT customers for about a million years. Their customer service reps have done a fine job and that's good. Most recently we had a big outage in our whole neighborhood and a technician had to come on the fifth day of the outage. The poor man was here from 10:30 in the morning till 20 minutes to 5:00 in the afternoon. He could have given up, but he was persistent and determined, and he did not only solve the problem, but he improved matters for us too. So, we were very pleased with that. He did a fine job. We've had other people come and they have done what's needed to be done, and everything was just fine. But this fellow struck us as particularly good.

I love ADT. I'm 100% satisfied with the service. If the power goes down, somebody cuts the wire of the power and nothing works, it has a battery backup to put the alarm on. The installers that came out were knowledgeable and they never give up until they've solved the problem. They talk to you straight. You ask them a question on it and they tell you the truth about the product. They're always there to check my system for me because I don't know how to do it. They go to the whole thing and everything is working right. The only thing is I got confused a little in my head with the price. They said it was free to install and it wasn’t. And ADT should keep the price at a low level because there's a lot of old people that use it. The other companies that fight with ADT has a low price, so keep the prices at a level that they could afford it.

Not only is ADT on everybody’s lawn in my neighborhood, but it's on TV. It's over 100 years old and it's not far from my visual sight. I was more concerned that it was a company that was around for a long time and that it would be around for a long time and that it had national coverage. One of my friends' husband owns an alarm system, but it's just him and I wasn’t comfortable with that. When I first called because I was robbed that day, it was horrible. Then it happened again. The thief walked in because I'd just gone out to the store for 10 minutes literally a block from my house and he was watching my house.
I called the three different companies in the area and they gave me their quotes of hundreds and hundreds of dollars upfront to just put the stuff in. ADT seemed to take that $99 installation and give me a $100 gift card and everything was there. It's just a couple of dollars more a month. I'm also a senior, so I talked to a supervisor who gave me the fire package. I had to ask for it since I'm not getting more unless I ask. Setting up the device isn't rocket science anymore. It's just drilling in holes and all that wire that has to be put in, then they told me the best place to put them and it was good for my needs.
I called ADT when I was going away to let them know that I was going to be gone and my son had the code to get in the house, so if anything happens my children would notify me. They were very responsive to that. I also had another attempted break in so I made sure that they knew about that. I've told every one of my friends who don’t have it or don’t use it that they're out of their mind if they don’t have that. I was very happy with the price and the fact that it comes right out of my checking account every month so I don’t have to even think about it.

For the first time since having the system, the alarm activated when we were away from home. ADT called us quickly & dispatched the police as we were 15 minutes away. We arrived to Police in our driveway. Thankfully, it was just an open window that slipped down triggering the alarm. It's good to know how smoothly the process runs; hopefully it will never be a "real" call.

I had a problem with my smoke detector. I called and had an appointment scheduled. Needless to say nobody showed up. I called and they confirmed that the tech did not know of the appointment. They arranged another appointment. Needless to say nobody came. I called the person who convinced me to sign up for ADT. I received no response. This has been over 3 weeks ago. I would not recommend ADT to any of my friends.

The tech was very professional, pleasant and helpful in resolving my problem on site. My only complaint was the lady who took my call at 3 a.m. at your call center and steered me to my cable provider which was a waste of time, and was not correct. I had to call back to ADT. I think next time I have a problem I will call during day time hours. But the service call was responded timely after I called back.

We recently had the Pulse system installed in our home. The original installer did not test our internet connection prior to installation. When he finally did we found out that our internet was subpar for the Pulse system, therefore it does not work to its fullest potential. The original installer came alone and tried to do a two man's job in one day, by the end of the evening he was flying thru the house installing all the window sensors and window break sensors haphazardly throughout the house missing one room and installing the sensor unsystematically or uniformly in each window. For aesthetic purposes it looks horrible. Of course by 9 pm we were ready to get him out of the house, felt bad that he had to drive back to Phx from FLG and didn't realize he had done such a poor job (we didn't double check his work, he was a lot of talk without follow through).
We called ADT to have the missing pieces installed and to have the sensors remounted, and to have the timer for the doors set so that when we drive thru our garage doors the 'alarm' doesn't go off, or walking thru the garage access. A tech came, said he had fixed the timer but hadn't. Thankfully we learned the first time and checked before he raced out of his job with our home to a job in Page. The alarm went off, not the warning alarm but "The Alarm". The technician that came up to fix the timers gave excuse after excuse for the poor installation to begin with ie: stuff was in the way of the windows, there wasn't anything in the way that wasn't mobile. (We were there and had there been things in the way or anything needed by the original installer we would have gladly have accommodated.)
We pressured him, the tech who came up to fix delays, to reinstall all of the window sensors, which he did without care and we have had at least one sensor fall off in the house, we didn't have him touch the garage. On top of all of that my husband had told him he wanted all of the sensors in the same place in the house and in the garage. When my husband walked away he doubled checked with me, as if it try to get a different opinion. This is just a small summary of our experience. If I could do it again, I would go with a different company. ADT service is lacking when techs are at customer's homes and the wait times to get a hold of ADT for service is ridiculous and they never call back when you put in a request. We'd be better off to set off an alarm to get customer service.

I am very satisfied with ADT and follow their instructions related to testing, battery change, etc. I wasn't the original purchaser but after asking for information for initial installation, where window and door sensors, etc. were installed, I received information and keep it on file. If I happen to forget to test, there is always a call on my message machine to remind me. I always tell friends that I like ADT and recommend it.

We entered into a contract for the installation of a new recorder, a monitor and 2 cameras for our Capitol City Building in Charleston, West Virginia, 25301. We are happy with the installation and the equipment is working ok. I received a call from an ADT collection person last week advising that we are past due in the amount of close to $450. After checking with John **, the local ADT Manager who I did this transaction with, he advised we still owed $190 + tax plus 4 months fee for an on-going service that we did not request and never entered into a contract for this monthly service. Nor have we ever received an invoice for the $190 monitor.
After inquiring about this with John, he informed me that he had discussed this with me on the front end and that it was ADT's policy in all contracts to include this monthly service. I informed John that we never had this discussion and also that in 40 yeas in the commercial property management business that I never entered into a contract that included this on going monthly service. John sent me a contract supposedly showing where I agreed to this service and also I signed the contract for this service. It is important to know that the signature on the contract for this service we are being billed for is not my signature... It is not even close, which means that my signature has been fraudulently signed to the ADT contract.
Please note that I hand delivered a $190 + 7% sales tax check ($203) to your ADT office yesterday and asked to speak with John and he would not see me. I gave the receptionist my card and asked that John call me. Also, when I returned to the office I e-mailed John and asked that he call me so we could resolve this issue immediately. He has not called or tried to contact me. We want to resolve this issue immediately please. Please contact me immediately at **. Thank you.

I opened my front door. When I went to close it the alarm would not let me set it. The customer service person walked me through the manual way to set it. The person who came to fix it told me it was set up wrong on my front door. Since then I've had no more problems.

ADT quickly responded to a recent smoke detector alarm at my house. My contacts were notified and fire department. Once they recognized that I had tried to reset the alarm using my passcode, and talked with me, they called off the fire department. Never have a problem except when there's a power outage, the ADT system runs on battery backup. While our power has never been out more than 3 hours in the near 9 years we've lived here, it's still discerning that it will only last 8 hours on the battery, and it goes down when our phone system goes down, because it's all linked together. I do wish our emergency system and phone was a separate entity. I get really nervous when the power goes out, and my husband goes away on business. We check our system once a month, and have never had an issue that it didn't work.

I called in because our battery is running low and I was unable to locate keys to our box. When I spoke to the customer service rep she advised me that the keys are probably on top of the box, which they were! She then told me where I could find a replacement battery and how to replace the battery. The customer service rep was great help and I was on and off the phone in the matter of a few minutes, I did not have to hold for long at all.

Police were informed that our garage alarm went off. We do not have an alarm there, only in the house. They were there in minutes, which we were glad to see however, felt it unnecessary. Shouldn't ADT have called us and, perhaps, held off an unnecessary visit from the police? OR, should we have just called 911 to report. The police of our small city were happy to oblige! We appreciate ADT!!

Recently an unfamiliar 'beep' began sounding every few minutes. I wanted to make sure that it wasn't an ADT issue, and when I called, I was quickly routed to the correct department, explained the situation, and the lady was helpful, patient, and understanding as she walked me thru the process of making sure my ADT was working properly. I eventually found the source of the 'beep,' but I was greatly comforted in knowing my ADT service was secure.

We've had our ADT system for about 2 years, if memory serves. I probably have not "tested" it frequently enough, and there have been no actual breaches, but when I have "triggered" it, it worked. My wife, especially, likes the idea of ADT watching the ramparts when she is home alone. We do not live in a high crime area by any means, but most of our neighbors in our association also have ADT and all are satisfied with both the technology and the price. I have recommended it to friends.

I'm very discouraged with ADT at the moment. When I signed up, I signed up with auto payments from the very beginning. 2 months later I got a call saying I had $25 past due and no one could explain why it wasn't just automatically taken out of my account. I paid it. 2 months after that I get a bill in the mail stating I'm $150 past due and when I called to check why it wasn't taken out of my account, the reps said my card was deleted and there was no reason why. I am horrible at keeping track of my bills, so I have chosen to have everything coming out of a separate account automatically. It makes my life easier. When my card gets deleted and no one can tell me why it is very frustrating and makes me not want to do business with the company.

As far as the actual equipment goes, it's simple and easy to use and my family only uses one device in our home. Just a few windows and a couple doors have the wireless devices attached. The only problem I have been having is with billing. I have not missed any payments or even been late but still ADT messes up my billing somehow. Also I have a contract that I am not happy with because if I want out of the contract I have to pay the remainder of my contract off which is quite a lot of money all at once. ADT should do away with their contracts.

I called Customer Service to walk me through setting up additional passwords and deleting some that were given to employees who have left the company. The representative was thorough and waited on the line until I had completed what I had wanted and even tested out the new passcodes. March-I received a package. It did not record the delivery man coming to my front door, but it did capture my friend picking it up. This was my first clue the cameras were not picking everything up. Since then I have been going back and forth with ADT. I wanted my money back because it is not doing what it was supposed to do. I also have a 36 mo. contract at 65.00 mo. I am so unhappy and disappointed because I purchased the cameras for safety/security which I don't have. ADT did NOTHING. I WOULD NOT GO WITH ADT. THEY ARE LIARS AND I AM STILL TRYING TO GET MY MONEY BACK TO NO AVAIL.
3/15/16 I called ADT to complain the cameras were not capturing everything. 3/15/16 also sent an e-mail to ADT. 3/23/16 called ADT again because no response to 3/15 call or e-mail. 3/27/16 called ADT again because still no response to 3/15 call or e-mail. 3/31/16 ADT service rep came to check out cameras. He said if I want the cameras to capture everything I would need digital cameras. The cameras I bought do not capture everything. I said had I known this I would have never purchased these cameras. I want them to capture everything. That was the whole purpose in getting the cameras.
April: 4/3/16 called Vincent **, Manager ADT, to complain. He said he would call me back and never did. 4/12/16 I e-mailed Said and Vincent because no one called me back. 4/14/16 Said called me back. I told him how dissatisfied I was and I wanted to cancel. He said he would speak with his boss and get back to me. He never got back to me. 4/18/16 called Said again said I wanted to cancel, no return call. 4/21/16 called Said again. We made an appointment for him and his boss to come to my home 4/28 to check the cameras. They did not show or call to cancel. 4/30/16 called ADT again. S/W Raymond, told him my problems and said I wanted to cancel. He said he will put a note in the computer and have someone get back to me either Monday or Tuesday. No one got back to me.
May: 5/5/16 called ADT and Said, left a message to call me back. Said called me back. I told him I wanted to cancel. He said I can and he will send an e-mail stating I wanted to cancel and get back to me. Then I receive an e-mail from Said stating I can cancel but need to have 3 service calls first. I don’t understand why I need to have 3 service calls before I can cancel. When the service man came to my home he told me these cameras were not going to capture everything. So what are two other people going to do?
5/23/16 I spoke with Said. He said I have 6 mos. to cancel my contract and they should not be charging me to cancel the contract. He said I have until 7/25/16 to cancel per email 5/2016. Said connected me with Gail in billing. We had a 3 way conversation. Said explained to Gail I shouldn’t have to pay to cancel the contract. I have 6 mos. to cancel. Gail said she can’t put this through because she needs a copy of the contract saying I have 6 mos. to cancel. Said said he will speak with his manager and have the paperwork put through. Never happened.
I told Said I don’t want this service. From the history above alone I am not satisfied. I purchased the cameras due to a domestic abuse issue. I wanted cameras to be safe that I could see if anyone came to my home. I don’t feel safe. I was not told when I bought this package that the cameras would not capture everything. If I was told that I would not have purchased it. I told him I want this escalated. Asked him who is the next in line for me to contact? I need to get a system in my home that will protect me ASAP. I do not have time to have two more service calls. This has been going on long enough. Never heard back.

We've had no incidents in this current residence to date other than the occasional power outage. But in a former residence protected by ADT, we had a lightning strike which started a small natural gas-fed fire in the attic. The ADT alarm system sounded immediately and notified the Fire Department, Police and the primary key-holder. Within minutes, the key-holder and the Fire Department arrived and the situation was contained with limited damage relative to the value of the house. We will never be without monitored protection, and ADT is our provider of choice. Thank you, ADT.

I thought the technician was friendly and honest, but my husband did not (I should have listened to him). He upsold us by $700, which was completely my fault. However, we were point-blank told there was NO contractual requirement for the service and that was one of the SPECIFIC reasons we signed with him. We were assured repeatedly that we could cancel the service at any time. When we decided we needed to stop the service for a bit due to financial hardships caused by medical expenses, we were very surprised to learn that we were in a 3-year contract!!! We would have NEVER agreed to those terms. I will tell everyone I know about this company and how dishonest their representative was. I am super disappointed.

When at a neighborhood watch meeting in January of 2014, a saleslady representing ADT did a presentation and took names and numbers from anyone interested in ADT service. She contacted me and we set up a meeting that she did not show up for. I called her and we set up another meeting. We visited for a while and determined a plan that I could afford and she filled out all the paperwork. The Service contract I have is dated 1/31/2014 and states that my monthly fee will be $36.99 for two years with a $15.00 installation fee that I paid her on the spot. We also scheduled an install date for a short time after. I do not remember the exact date, but I do remember that no one showed up after I had taken time off of work to be there.
February 2nd, 2014 I was charged by ADT on my credit card for the $15.00 installation fee that I had already paid to my saleslady in cash. I called and ADT refunded the fee, a few months later. In April 2014, my monthly bill was increased by $15.00 to $51.00. I assume this was for the $15.00 installation fee, but the bill does not say that. I called and the bill was changed and I was told to pay my regular amount.
My saleslady knew that I was financially nervous about starting the service and on March 18, 2014, before install had occurred, she texted me and offered me an additional incentive of 6 referral bonuses totaling $300 and in 6 months she could get me a few more referral bonuses. Finally, she told me that her manager was going to allow her to waive the fee for the second month of service. (At the time I assumed this was for the delays in install.) On top of all that, she had told me that if I placed a call in a few months to the Customer Loyalty Dept, they would drop my monthly fee to $20 because I had lost my job.
After nearly two months, I finally got the install on a Saturday, 3/29/2014. The installer was amazing. He was a great guy and very nice. He didn't seem to know the system very well though, because after six months of my alarm going off right after being set and many calls with the ADT service department, I finally got another installer to come and determine that the problem was that the first installer had mounted the sensor on a metal door and did not have proper signal through the door. He moved the sensor and I have never had another false alarm in two years.
For several months, I asked my saleslady where the referral bonus check was and she kept telling me that it would be coming, so I kept letting it slide, until I found out that she had left ADT and moved away. I called, emailed, attempted chats with ADT and I kept getting switched from department to department and I still have never gotten the referral bonus check. It's been over two years. I have left many messages and ADT will no longer return my calls or emails. I have the text messages on my phone; I have the emails showing my many attempts at contacting ADT. I've spent hours on hold with them. I have attached a screenshot of the text messages and a bill for verification that I am an ADT customer. I have sent this information to ADT via emails, but still no response.
Now ADT is raising my monthly payment for a second time in the last two years. My saleslady also told me no price increases would happen until the end of my two year contract, but I can't prove that. I'm fed up with ADT. I'm not going to pay this increased bill. I have attempted to contact them to cancel my account, but they still won't answer me or call me back, so I'm not going to pay any more to see if they will call me. I don't know what else to do. I'm sure my account must be flagged in their system and they won't talk to me. I'm hoping this website will get their attention.

I've been an ADT customer since June 2014. It has always worked perfectly. I especially appreciated it when I could monitor my home here from my home up north. I moved to FL permanently in May of 2016 and since then I've received at least 5 marketing mailings to "resident" offering all kinds of good deals. Free installation, half the price I pay, etc. I called after I got the first one to say - um I live here and I pay you. Don't your marketing people know that? So I'm not complaining about ADT service (although thankfully I've never really needed to use it). I'm just saying maybe put a little more effort into accurate marketing so that a happy customer doesn't get disillusioned!

I returned to my home and found an alarm beeping. I pulled the batteries out of 4 alarms before I realized it was the hardwired one that was beeping. I called ADT and was concerned why if the unit is continuously monitored, why they hadn't contacted me to tell me there was a problem rather than me contacting them? The man in Texas who assisted me on the phone was very patient, explained clearly what I needed to do and I was able to fix the problem without having to call in a repair person. Appreciated his willingness to assist me. Still concerned as to why they are not aware the alarm was set off.

I was having an issue with the beeping of my ADT Home Alarm. The beeping was becoming more frequent and I did not know what was causing it. I called the ADT service phone number and spoke with an ADT Representative. I explained my situation to the ADT Representative. She was very helpful and took me through the steps as to what to do. It turned out I needed the alarm, needed a battery replacement. The ADT Representative was very helpful and courteous and explained everything in a clear and straightforward manner. My Mother set off her alarm around bedtime. I received the call that she couldn't be reached. I am to be called in those cases and I received a friendly call about the situation. I determined what had happened and requested that the police not be called. The code was input during our conversation so we were both convinced that all was well. Have never had any issues with ADT at all. Good coverage. When I accidentally set off the panic button on the fob... it took less than 5 seconds for them to call to make sure everything was okay. Only issue... They never came back to put in the outside sensors (the installer didn't have it with him) and motion light.

The ADT services all inside and outside the house are all great. The alarm and the camera are perfectly amazing for all the family protection purposes. My only concern is my app on my cell. Every time I log in it ask this question "software updates" then I did that but still not working. Can't log in. Then I deleted the app and installed the new one but still don't work so I just go to Google site and open it there and check my camera away from my house. The cell software updates doesn't work at all!!

After 17 long years of loyalty to ALL my service providers, ADT is the only company that worked with me when I was laid off work for almost 2 years; At times when I did not have the money to make the payment they took my bill to "zero" and sometimes they asked me to pay half and they absorb the other half. I would NOT trade ADT for any other security company as long as I own a home. If I had a problem and they were to come out for service, their servicemen were always on time and they explained to me what is the problem and how they resolved it. Thanks ADT.

Our son has ADT at his home as well as us. A few days ago his alarm went off. We received the call, he was in the shower at home and the alarm was not making a sound. The person who called us from ADT called back to say she had called the police and gotten a busy signal twice then when she got through they informed her it was not their jurisdiction. There was no breaking but what if there had been - there was at least a 20 minute time lapse!!!

I've had a good experience with ADT. The sales rep was very friendly and I had a positive experience with the installation team. I got the basic system to control the doors, the smoke, and penetration to the home, and a couple of monitors. I have a digital pad but one of them went bad and the ADT guys suggested that I wait until the second one goes bad before calling in. Every time I've had some problem, I've called and they have come soon. Every time I notice something wrong, I report it and they ask me for a time, and then they come.

Alarm kept going off on Zone 13. We weren't sure where Zone 13 was. We have 5 bedrooms and all but one have bathrooms. That's the description that ADT kept giving us. They were able to get here the next day after I called. Was a loose wire in the expander box that wasn't connected securely. He was very good and fixed in just a few minutes. Love my ADT system and the service guys. Have had great service with them all.

Recently, I assisted police in catching a burglar who had climbed into one of my garbage cans. A police dog was eventually able to catch him across the street. I think security monitoring is a good idea in my neighborhood and can see home security signs on my neighbors' front yards. Other security providers want me to bundle with them but ADT has become competitive in this category as well. One example would be The Pulse Portal access I now have and want to add on to in the future.

We have now had ADT in our home for 12 years and as a retired banker, I've used a lot of alarms. ADT is an excellent system for our home and the monitoring works like a charm. We feel very safe knowing we have ADT!

We have been customers for many years and now we are moving. Last year we discontinued our landline and had to start wireless security service. When I called the office about our move I found out we had two years left on a contract I didn't know we had. I was told that I could continue my service at our new location or if the new owners wanted the service they could continue our contract. The new owners are not interested so that is not an option. We are in a gated community so I don't see the need for security, but I was willing to get the service just to use up our contracted time. Now I have to sign a new three contract or pay the $670 left on our contract. We are on a limited income and I feel this is very unfair. Any help in matter would be greatly appreciated.

Every few weeks I get a sensor fail. I call ADT and they tell me how to clear it. They say it is the cell tower at fault. I always wonder if they are lying.

FIRST OF ALL EVERYTHING! Mr. Rodney ** did the best job And Knowledge. He cleaned up after himself, was on time, very polite and we were here all day (to torture him). Every time He could do He Did, He was very HELPFUL. All the Windows/Doors Two Remotes, and two Cameras.

Eight and a half years ago, my neighbor’s house was broken into. A couple of my neighbors and I then looked into security services. We searched around and when we found ADT, we decided to go with them. The three of us have the same plan. Fortunately, we’ve been lucky and haven’t had to use the service. We only had a couple of false alarms. Whenever we had to call for information, the people at ADT have been very customer-oriented, so everything is fine.

We studied different security systems when we had the house built. ADT was the one that we got and they have been fine. They've responded very well any time the alarm has gone off. One time the wind blew the door open because it wasn't shut and we accidentally set the alarm off.

We had a home in Sheffield that was using a local security service. We were not pleased with the security because when the power goes out, the local security's power is also out so we didn't have any service. Meanwhile, ADT is not just here in Killen so when our power goes out, theirs doesn't. We have such good service with ADT so we've stayed with them for so long. We have ADT in this house and our guest house so we feel very comfortable with having them both secured. We've recommended them several times.
We had the service agreement and anytime we'd ever have a problem, they just come straight on that and fixed it, which hadn't been many times. One time we had a bad storm and they called and asked if we were okay since our alarm went off. They asked us to walk through the house to make sure that everything is okay. I appreciate that ADT is always there for us because we're not young people. A while back, the system was not working properly. They told me when I called in that it was the battery that's the problem. The lady rep told me that the battery has to be changed but it was on top of a nine-foot ceiling. Since nobody here can climb up a ladder to change the battery, they had a guy come out to do it.

We love ADT so far and they have been super responsive in time of need, so you are probably wondering what the issue is. When it came time to get our $100 dollar gift card no one seemed to know who I needed to talk to or they all just played dumb. One department would advise me to call another and the other would tell me they don't see anything pending for us. Don't promise the rebate if you won't deliver and help your customers figure out how to activate the ability to receive the rebate. For that I only gave you a 4 - should've been a 3.5, because I don't care for that dishonest part of the sale. Probably would've still gone with ADT without the dangle of the rebate, but it made the decision quick and easy.

I probably should have researched the subject before I made a decision. I had Protection 1 equipment installed and wanted to get it updated and monitored. When I called Protection 1 they claimed not to have any local office but they had bought ADT and they could handle my request. The sales rep and installation guy were well versed and professional. I had two window sensors added, a glass breakage sensor and an additional smoke detector and motion sensor. They also swapped out the control panel and added a bevy of new boxes. I was charged $350 for the new equipment and signed up for 3 years of monitoring at $50/month. Since the installation I've received several offers from ADT that included 9 free sensors and $30/month monitoring... hence the buyer's remorse. I question ADT's business ethics and while I'm locked in for the next 3 years I probably won't renew with them as there are simpler and less expensive systems available.

My wife and I were made to jump through hoops so-to-speak just to cancel a subscription from just one of our properties. It really shouldn't be a difficult process to discontinue service. Especially when I'm still a client at another location. One customer service rep asked if I had any other accounts and she had not addressed the current issue which I called about. That is totally stupid and inept. I'm very disappointed at my ADT customer service experience!!

ADT has been good over the 15 years or so we've been using their services. Their tech department has been professional and polite when handling and solving difficulties I've encountered (changing batteries in sensors or testing the system). With that said, I'm still using my original equipment. I've never been approached about upgrading my control panel or adding controls or devices. It seems that technology may have improved in the past 15 years.
