    I have had ADT for 20 years. Same house for 16 years. In those 16 years my alarm has NEVER gone off, police have never been called. A few years back, I had another sensor put in, and I got a small (17 pound) dog. Alarm has NEVER (as I already stated) gone off. In late summer, I was upstairs (no one else in the house) and alarm was on away. Dog was with me. Alarm started beeping that there was an intruder. I knew no one was in the house, and I reset it. Six weeks later, four times in 2 weeks, the alarm has gone off. I've not been at home (of course) and they called me.

    First time I let the police come out. I then got a nasty gram from the police dept saying I would be fined for the next visit when there was not an issue. Next 3 times I said "don't send the police" - I knew something was wrong with one of the motion detectors. Last week, a tech came out, acted confused and said he replaced one of the motion detectors. Well, Monday this week, at 1245p, I received yet another phone call that the alarm was going off. Dog was locked up in bedroom upstairs (no motion detectors upstairs). No sensors showed a door or window had been opened. I said I needed another tech as SOMETHING IS WRONG.

    I scheduled one for today between 8-9 am (FIRST appt of the tech's day) as I am supposed to be WORKING instead of dealing with these people who cannot fix the issue. You guessed it - NO ONE SHOWED UP. When I called - I was told the tech was doing 'inventory' and would be out after that was completed. SERIOUSLY? INVENTORY? I received a phone call AND an email stating my appointment was for 8-9 am for today - and yet this person was doing inventory. I am fed up. I am going to cancel the service as obviously ADT has no clue what is going on, what they are doing, how to effectively fix the problem I am having NOR can they show up when they are scheduled. Ridiculous.

    I wanted the technician to assess our system for takeover. What I was told and promised on the phone was not what the tech came up with. He could not tell till he installed the panel and keypad that he couldn't connect our existing smoke/heat sensors as well as our inside and outside sirens. There were also additional charges for the translators and the additional touch screens. Instead of saving money and despite all of the applied credits, I owed over $2000 which was mostly for replacing sensors which I could accomplish at a much lower cost. The system is cellular and doesn't work with phone lines.

    11/14 - I requested to change my alarm code and was advised that I would be contacted the following day. 11/15 - I saw on my app on my cell phone that ADT called me back to back. I called back and was told that a representative is going to call me to change the code, but they had to speak to me verbally. Approx 12pm this was completed. When we got home around 5 pm, and entered the changed code, it did not work. Tried the previous code and it did not work. Shortly my alarm goes off, ADT calls, gave the password and explained the situation.

    They temporarily disabled my account and said they could only do this for 20 minutes and there was "nothing" they could do. I called back and spoke to a representative that attempted to help and then was told, "there is nothing they could do" and told me to disable it. I called back and spoke to Nicky aka Adrienne (ID**) and she was amazing; however, most of her peers were not.

    After about 1.5 hours of troubleshooting and me getting more frustrated during this time, she stuck it out with me and was in email contact with a Larry from Irving, TX technology center that said that he would have someone call and attempt to download the new password. He did, (I did not get that reps name) but he was useless. What he attempted to do was not successful and he basically told me "there is nothing we can do tonight". I explained my frustrations and told him that I am supposed to without an alarm because of a mistake that was done on ADT's end. He told me "I guess so." Furious enough, I had Nicky on my cell phone and told her what he just told me and while she apologized, he hung up after he heard that.

    After about another hour of attempting to figure it out, I told Nicky that I was incredibly upset this isnt resolved yet. What is it that we have to do to get this fixed. Meanwhile, we all just came home. Attempting to get 3 kids (10, 5 and 1) ready for bed and fed and dealing with an alarm that continued to go off, receiving calls from ADT to verify my password and even 2 visits from the Chino Police Department. At this point, Nicky told me that she will get a technician out tomorrow from 12-5 pm and of course, I declined. She asked me when I will like a tech to come out and I demanded, "NOW". She put me on hold and told me an emergency technician is going to come out. She couldnt provide me with an ETA because it was through the scheduling department and that is in another center but they should be contacting me within the hour to give me a better ETA.

    Imagine my surprise that this did not happen and I had to put in another call to see what I could find out to only be told again, "there is nothing more I can tell you" - Jasmine (who hung up on me because all the managers were in a meeting at midnight), and Shawnie (ID **) told me she couldnt give me a better ETA because "we have to wake the technicians up and he is coming from Riverside and he has to get his tools". Keep in mind, Riverside is no more than 30 minutes from me.

    Called back again and got Veanette and she was also an incredible rep that admitted to dropping the ball (not her, but the company) because with a download the homeowner SHOULD be home. No other rep, including the department that downloaded it, stated that. She also understood my frustrations and apologized and heard me out. I had calmed down at this point, but she definitely knew how upset I was and reasoned with me. She gave me information on the license numbers I requested and confirmed that a technician will be there by 10 pm (Request went in at around 6:51 p.m.) Skipping ahead of time.

    Technician did not arrive until 10:20 pm (another surprise). Leroy the technician immediately told me the tech shouldnt have tried to download the password change without anyone being here. Explained to him, but they did. He stated that since the system is armed he cannot connect to the system because the system is on (which EVERYONE KNEW) but sent him out anyway. He asked me if I knew the distress code, told him that we never had one of those. He called his supervisor, Paul ** and he did not answer. He told me there is nothing he could do tonight, unplugged the system and left by 10:43 pm.

    You tell me if I am supposed to be ok with this Reimbursement, compensation and an upgrade to our system complimentary for the inconvenience this has caused me and my family. In addition to that, customer relations should pull every log of my calls to see where I am coming from and that I only put the major parts of my issues down, but it sure was more than 4,000 characters worth. I am literally sitting here without an alarm and NO resolution and someone, including the emergency technician thinks that is just peachy!!! Called back, AGAIN, to be told... there is nothing else they could do tonight and they are not sure when the next department (Loyalties) will be able to call me back since they no longer make my keypad. The JOY of being a long time customer.

    Let me begin by saying that this is my first review of any product or service. I'm generally the one that benefits from others insightful positive or negative comments but have never wrote one myself until today. The level of frustration and fury I have with ADT at this moment rivals nearly every other negative emotion I have ever felt. A little background. We signed up for ADT after a home next to ours was broken into. We knew at the time that we would not be at that location for more than 3 years, and when I asked about the 3 year contract agreement, I was told that this was nullified if we were to move before the 3 years was up. When we moved 18 months later, I called ADT to cancel my service.

    I was told that there would be a $600+ termination fee. After much debate, I reluctantly agreed to continue the service at our new address. I was told at that time that we would just need to finish out the 3 year contract and we could cancel at the end of that period. So tonight marked the end of the original 3 year contract. I called to cancel our service and was told that, when we moved, our 3 year contract had started over and it would be another 18 months before we could cancel. I talked for an hour and was transferred 7 different times. At one point, I was told that we could cancel without paying a termination fee, and was later told by a manager that this would be impossible.

    I now have a newfound passion: telling everyone I know, and encouraging them to tell everyone they know, etc to avoid ADT like the plague. I was blatantly lied to on multiple occasions and have been robbed of literally thousands of dollars. NEVER EVER EVER do business with this company. I'm sure there are some good people there who are trying to earn an honest living, but this company has an incredulous level of deception and greed that permeates it to its core. Again, I repeat, if you need a new home security system, NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER even consider this company. Doing business with them is one of my greatest regrets of all time.

    We have two places that ADT is looking after, one here in Arizona and another one in Alaska. For years, I was paying over $200 for two or three months, but when I told the gal that came in after we had the last break-in in Alaska, she couldn't believe that was what we're paying for. So I probably need to talk to somebody about it sometime. Other than that, they do a good job and I don't have any problems with them at all.

    I feel like was scammed. You were running a special of 27.99. But that was only a come-on. To get wireless was extra. To get the necessary equipment was extra for every piece. I had to pay $497.95 immediately. The monthly payment was more than twice what I was expecting. Someone made a mistake entering my address. I live in a house and an apartment number was added to the address. I had to be home to receive new papers with the correct address which took time out from my work. I am extremely upset about this. Your customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I had to call and request my stake sign and stickers. I have not received them yet.

    I had ADT installed just a month ago through an Authorized ADT dealer with DEFENDER. After reading my contract thoroughly a few days later, I had a lot of questions because the contract was not what dealer told me at time of sale. One of my door sensors quit working (28 days after install) so dealer came out to fix it. The sensor had been improperly installed on door by trainee he had with him at time of installation (I guess he didn't oversee trainees work). Just a quick adjustment of sensor placement and my system is now fine.

    When Dealer came at 6:15 PM (appointment was to be between 11 and 3) to fix my door sensor, his breath smelled of alcohol. I don't want anyone coming into my house to deal with security issues while under the influence. Don't know what to do about that issue. I asked him about specific items in contract that troubled me: 90-day limited warranty and QSP (Quality Service Protection) specifically. He told me Pulse1 has "lifetime warranty on equipment" and that I had "QSP automatically with Pulse1". I pointed out in contract where it specifically says I only have a 90-limited warranty and must ask for QSP (and pay for it). He continued to insist that the contract was wrong and to ignore it. I really tried to get the Dealer to understand that I believe I am legally bound by the specifics of the contract and cannot rely on his verbal statements or promises.

    From conversations with ADT customer care, I was told that after 90 days, my contract is transferred from Dealer to ADT. She confirmed the need for QSP if I was concerned about equipment malfunction. Yet the Dealer is telling me I automatically have QSP with Pulse1 contract and "lifetime equipment warranty". The contract does not say either of those things.

    I don't know what to think. Is dealer purposely misrepresenting things to me? Why is he telling me items in the contract I signed are "wrong"? I believe I am legally bound to the specifics of contract. Anything he says verbally contrary to contract is not enforceable. If I do not obtain QSP before end of 90 days limited warranty, I will have to pay out of pocket for all service calls and all equipment repair/replacement. With a malfunction just 29 days after install, I am not sure I can be confident I won't have expensive equipment replacement issues over the next 3 years.

    There is language in contract that says at the end of the first year of my 3-year contract, my "annual service charge" can be changed within just 10 days notice. Yet nowhere in the contract is there an "annual service charge" mentioned. It only has "monthly charges". Dealer was unable to answer my question about that. I have deep concerns about my contract.

    I am very confused about which entity (ADT or DEFENDER) I am supposed to contact and who I actually contracted with for which services. There are multiple different phone numbers in the contract and very hard to determine who to call for what. The contract has requirements that all things must be done in writing by U.S. mail but I do not even know what address I am supposed use (ADT or DEFENDER). I have a myADT account but apparently service appointments for Dealer are not communicated with ADT or myADT system.

    I originally responded to a special mailer to get ADT system for just $27.99 a month and $850 "free equipment". I just purchased my first home and wanted a security system. I tried a 30-day free trial with another company but returned it after two weeks as it did not meet my needs. When the "Authorized Dealer" arrived for appointment, he immediately installed the keypad to my wall and we hadn't even discussed any specifics. (A pretty sneaky way to be sure I sign a contract.) The $850 "free equipment" was just the Impressa keypad, two door/window sensors, an indoors motion detector and a keyfob (plus yard sign and window stickers). That is woefully inadequate to protect any home and cannot possibly cost $850. I wanted every door and window to have a sensor. I didn't need indoor motion detection.

    So after adding 8 sensors, an outdoor siren, three smoke detectors, two 2-way keyfobs, and emergency pendant, the total amount I owed for equipment was over $1200, payable at $307 a month for four months and a monthly monitoring fee of $52.99. What happened to the $850 free equipment and $27.99 monitoring advertised? Yes, I did have 3 business days to cancel the contract I signed but I really wanted ADT monitoring system that met my needs so did not cancel despite the financial hardship for the next 3 months to pay for equipment. So am I very anxious and confused about the contract I signed and what the Dealer is telling me. I do not know what to do about it.

    We've had ADT for probably 35 years. We've never had a problem and if accidentally we set the alarm off, we knew the code and they straighten it out very quickly. And if they bar everyone out then they would set the system down to put a new battery in. Our experience with them has been very good.

    So, for those that couldn't see what my resolution was they reverted my bill back to its original contract price. Saying any increases during contract period can be opted out of. Here is what I learned during all this so you know.

    1. Customer service will tell you that your bill will not change unless you make changes to your account (this is not true per your contract they can increase your bill after the first year at their own discretion).
    2. You can opt out of these increases but there is a time limit to do so. My advice would be watching your bill very closely I do not know how long your opt-out the window is.

    3. (My personal note from my own experience) If you have already been charged these increases and you want something done about it don't bother calling ADT because they will stand behind this contract you have probably never read. Just go ahead and create an account on this website and rip them a new one in front of a bunch of people and they will miraculously be able to make some changes to your bill.

    I have an ADT account and my price has gone up twice. Roughly a 17% increase in 2.5 years started at 47.99 now at 55.57. But if you ask when you start an account they will say no increases to premium during contract without changes to service. Questioned them about it and they say there are provisions in your contract that allow for premium increase. So be aware they WILL lie to you. I have screenshots of convo with new accounts person saying premiums will not increase.

    I agreed to an inspection by the company ADT Security around 4 months ago because of their special on installation of equipment at 0 cost to new subscribers. The company sent out a company representative who also was an installation tech. He found that I needed more equipment than the special was offering and I agreed to an amount around 434 dollars for the extra equipment. I also was sold the security monitoring at around 35 dollars a month and guaranteed that price, which later became over 52 dollars a month because I did not have a landline, which was known by the company representative and he never stated that would cause my monthly monitoring to be more than the 35 a month!

    So after dealing with the company a month later on the monitoring increase of almost 20 dollars more a month falling on deaf ears, now the company has charged me more than 1600 dollars for their equipment and say I have a signed contract (I never received an invoice or ever signed a contract). I am completely devastated by their fraudulent means, and ADT Securities customer service has been no help in this! I am at a loss to what I need to do. This large corporation has many complaints against them for many reasons and I cannot believe there is no help for the little people they are committing unscrupulous harm on. I surely hope my terrible experience with ADT will deter good people seeking an honest company will not consider ADT Security for their equipment or monitoring needs!

    My wife ordered the free equipment installation and when installation tech showed up presented her an order for 800 plus but gave her a discount of 400. ADT has billed us 1600 dollars as of date and told her there is a contract for that amount. We do not have a signed contract in our possession. Fraud has been committed by this huge company and I see that there are hundreds of complaints against them. If I saw these complaints I would never ever have used them. We are going to file complaints with every overseeing entity in the State to get their licenses revoked in Az if our money is not returned, period! By the way we do not have a receipt! I have operated a business for years and never dealt with any companies as bad as this one! Aren't security companies supposed to be safe, trustworthy and have integrity?

    We had service for maybe 6-7 years... Overall, their service was fine. But they wanted to make just a little more money... by saying our cancellation was effective immediately, but they wanted to keep billing us for another 30 days. I don't see that anywhere in the contract I have nor online, and Googling didn't show anything with 30 days... We will be disputing it.

    There were some problems out here where we live. People were taking stuff that's why we decided to get ADT and the system is working well. We have the simple package and my satisfaction with the services has been very good so far. My interactions with the installers were very good, too. However, they sent us a number and said we're supposed to change the time but we don't know how to do it. But, other than that, we like the system.

    I just bought a house and someone was paying attention to the home purchases in the area, and so ADT came and sold me on their services. Interaction with their installation team has been great. ADT's services are fine, but I haven't been turning it on. I’m actually interested in upgrading to the Pulse system. My wife wants an intercom and a lot of the stuff that’s out there is either an older piece of older style, or the newer ones. I can’t find anything that I know is tried and true. And so, I was thinking about having somebody come out and see what they can sell me on the full Pulse system. The only thing was they were pushing the bottom line system. At that time, I wasn’t ready to make a decision. Plus, I didn’t realize that they had an intercom system that might really work to the best of our needs.

    On October 3rd I called ADT to cancel my service and spoke to a man who informed me that my service would be up in November and that "I called just in time". That my service could be cancelled as of November and that I would NOT be charged any additional fees and that since my service was paid a month in advance that I did NOT owe any additional monies and my service would be shut off as of November sometime... I did not get the exact date.

    Today, November 9th they charged my card an additional $29.59, even though I was told I did NOT owe them any money. When I called the accounting office, I was informed that there were cancellation fees. WOW I was told by someone a month ago that I had NO fees or monthly payments owed and I would NOT be charged any additional monies, but today they found a reason to charge me... over a month later. They also claim that they sent me a letter of the cancellation and that I owed them the money, which strangely I never received. I requested a refund, which the obviously will NOT give me! They need to fire the employee who told me I did NOT owe any additional monies... and refund my CC.

    I do not live near an ADT office and it took four months, hours on the phone with many departments and reps, one stood up appointment from a serviceman, wrong information from multiple reps, and me calling to cancel my service for ADT to offer to get a rep to my house to UPGRADE a product on my current system. I would never recommend them to anyone. They pride themselves on superior customer service, but they have none.

    We bought an alarm system and about 6 months in we started having issues! Big sign that this thing was junk. We have had several service calls and they have been unable to fix the system and the novice guys they send out to fix it come with no parts to replace the bad parts! I caught them lying about having to order an antenna when the service tech told my wife he had it back at his office but didn't have time to get it! Again why not come out with the parts you need to fix these things! They literally fit in a tiny box! So now they want us to take off another day losing pay to fix something they say can't even guarantee will fix the piece of junk! They don't want to let us out of our contract even though we are now paying for an item the doesn't work and they say they might not even be able to fix! Do yourself a favor and stay away from these very shady people! They lie! If I could give negative stars, I would.

    First of all, I selected ADT because of the high ratings. I have had probably the worst experience in the last 3 months that I have ever had with any service. First of all, I scheduled the initial visit and no one showed up. Instead, they had apparently had it incorrectly scheduled for several days later. After the installation, I needed to fill out manual paperwork because the installers said that their systems were down (not good). Then I received a letter dated August 4, 2016 stating that I needed to call their Permits Department to schedule a final inspection. I call the 866-502-3559 number for Defenders and get voice mail (go ahead and try it yourself before even considering them). It is now November 8, 2016 and I have called no less than 5 times with no response.

    In the meantime, my son was home alone and the alarm went off. He called ADT and they said that the basement windows and doors were open and they were not. They said it 'wasn't an emergency' so they would be delayed. They told him to do a reset but the zones were still showing that they were open. There was an error code that went away on its own several days later but ADT did not ever send anyone to check it. I called customer support at Defenders and demanded to speak with a manager who was less than sympathetic. I did get him to finally send someone to check the system and he 'kindly' forwarded me again to the Permits Department - surprise - I got voice mail again!

    Note that they were pretty persistent when they wanted $80 for the permit - didn't have a problem calling me then. So please reconsider ADT & Defenders. I moved into a new home and was enticed by their 'free' equipment but should have paid the money and stayed with my local and RELIABLE provider (National Security). This was a huge mistake.

    So, I signed up with ADT. After ruining my house (see pictures provided) they told me that they won't fix or reimburse me for the damage they made while installing until I pay for two estimates! In the photos you will see three large holes to a support column, three drill holes around the monitor, and a cord that is supposed to be ran inside the wall, but for some reason is on the outside and stapled to my floorboard. There is also a photo where the installer apparently forgot to put the other part of the sensor in my window.

    Anyways, needless to say I was dissatisfied and have received nothing but rude customer service along the way. I set a time for them to remove my alarm that day. They cannot do this in the late afternoon at a convenient time for normal people, so I changed my work schedule and did 11 am to 3 pm. No one showed up! I got a call at 5:30 (2.5 hrs) later saying they were on their way. You would think I would have been called earlier. Sorry this is long, but please do not use this company. You are just a number.

    I had to pick a home monitoring system and went with ADT due to brand recognition. My parents also had them. Now, I've had their system for seven years. Everything seems to work fine, except that I had problems with the Repulse, a small screen that lets me monitor cameras in the house and some other activities, and nobody among their customer service representatives had any idea what to do. But aside from that, for the most part when I've called them, they've returned to me and come out quickly.

    I spoke with Katrina today in the loyalty department and she was very pleasant. I wanted the appropriate person to be notified of the exceptional service I received today. I called in regarding an ongoing issue I have been having since my install date. My system has been going on and offline due to lack of signal. I called this morning because once again my service showed offline. I had a tech to come out last week who said it was due to the signal strength and that the problems would probably continue to happen. Well because I pay for a service that just so happen to work some of the time I called to cancel. I spoke with a rep in the tech department who initially said the system showed online and functional then after logging in told me otherwise.

    I then asked to speak with someone to cancel service. When I spoke with Katrina she provided an immediate solution to the problem I was having and offered to set everything up. She was very apologetic and confident that her solution will help with the problem. I am scheduled for service on Saturday for a tech to come out and install the cell guard that she suggested. This is the first person within ADT that I have spoken with that seem to know how to help. I am thankful for her service and even if the solution she provided doesn't work I am happy that I was able to get such a knowledgeable person on the line that was willing to help.

I thought that this was going to be an easy setup connecting the phone to ADT by using what was already there. This process took some time and after visits from ADT and Comcast I now find out that I need to upgrade to the cell which is about $21 more dollars a month. Since I'm in need of a security system for my home at this time. I upgraded to the cell.     We were told installation would be $106 and that we would receive a $100 VISA card to totally offset the cost and that the monthly would be $19.99 because we were previous customers. No. The Installation cost over a thousand dollars and the monthly is over $50 bucks. We were completely dismayed and worried about how to pay all these bills. The installer was terrific and did explain that because the company will pay for losses incurred when the system is armed that he had to do an installation that would actually protect the house. I made him redo his estimate four times to get the price down to just over a thousand dollars for a very basic, minimal system that he felt he could sign off on. Why did you say it would be one tenth of the actual cost for a minimal system?

    Made initial order over the phone, during which order package was negotiated and agreed. As I was passing on an offer received directly from ADT set to expire, I explicitly confirmed the order package and hardware included and asked for email confirmation with order details. I did not receive this until two weeks later when I chased prior to scheduled install date, which showed incorrect information. I tried calling to cancel the installation, but I could not get through.

    When installation technician came to the house as scheduled, I asked that we confirm the order details before commencing work. Sure enough the order details he had were incorrect. We therefore spent 2 hours on several calls with customer service as I persuaded them to listen to the call recording from my original order. Per the audio recording, they confirmed that the sales rep and sales manager had agreed to the offer package as I'd described, but customer service manager noted he still cannot honor it. The technician onsite spoke to his supervisor and customer service directly and made me a new offer which costs me $200 more than original offer, but I agreed as I'd already spent too much time on this. Technician then started the installation, including drilling equipment to my walls.

    However, he then came to tell me that the customer service is now again retracting the offer (claiming miscommunication between the technician and customer service - I was not involved in that conversation). My options were to pay another $100 (total $300 higher than original offer) or to cancel and deal with customer service to try and work out how they repair the holes in my wall. Having already spent 4 hours with installation only just begun, and not willing to spend more time with customer service trying to get my walls fixed, I told the technician to complete the work. Absolutely horrible experience. 4 hours spent prior to installation commencing. Offers made and retracted twice. This is absolutely unacceptable and I will be lodging further complaints. The technician onsite was professional, helpful, and apologetic the entire time as he understood and shared in my frustration.

    This was not a good experience. The rep pressured us to get a new system even though the existing one was 4 years old and in perfectly good working condition. My husband called his friend who is with corporate ADT when the rep was there. When asked straight out if he worked for ADT or an authorized dealer, he said annoyed: "ADT, come on man, I'm paid by ADT!" He lied. We told him we wanted a one year contract and he said he didn't know about it but to sign the paperwork and call ADT later since we had 3 days to cancel. My husband got annoyed with his attitude and said he was going to walk around the block.

    When my husband was gone the rep said some inappropriate things to me. Maybe he thought he was flattering me, not OK to talk to customers that way. At this point I wished I had left with my husband.     The sales guy on the phone seemed fairly easy to deal with & did not press or pressure excessively. The installation guy seemed knowledgeable, but was clearly also more of a salesman. I didn't mind him trying to upsell because that's his job. He explained how various items worked fairly clearly & that was helpful.     I am happy with the service but I was not aware of how much the equipment costs until after the tech was ready to install all of it. There was a promotion of free equipment and I was given an additional equipment credit since when I called for my consultation they had computer issues and I had to hold for several minutes. But after all that, the equipment cost was still over $4000! That seems a little on the ridiculous side to me since most of my equipment was supposed to be free. There is an option for 4 monthly payments but that is still over $1000. I think the costs for each piece of equipment should be listed on the website or made clear when the tech is there. At the end of the day I feel like I now have things installed that I don't really need.

    The most awful experience - the system was installed or set up incorrectly and kept going off because the motion detectors were set up wrong. Had to leave work and take time off to return home to disarm the alarm which kept going off. Had to take the following day off so an installer could return and attempt to fix the problem. Following that the front door sensor wasn't working or being secured/armed although I was paying quite a high rate for security and wasn't receiving it. Called to inform ADT of this and was treated very rudely and was transferred from dept./representative over 15 times, was placed on hold for over 45 minutes 4 times and hung up on 3 times. Finally spoke with a "supervisor" who wasn't polite at all and extremely unhelpful - scheduled an appointment for another technician to come back to my house and look into what was wrong with the door sensors not working.

    The bypass was activated on the system and they couldn't deactivate it. They determined that the battery component was damaged and replaced it - had to take another day off work to be there for them to return for a third time to fix the problem. Also I requested to pay the monitoring fee through my checking account. However the installer set it up to be charged on my credit card and failed to explain that the extra equipment he promised I needed to be protected would cost more than the package I approved and thought I was receiving and charged over $2,000 on my card without explaining that to me which made my credit card be maxed out (over the limit).

    I called to request the extra equipment I did not need nor want (an external siren, smoke & carbon monoxide monitors) I already had were also placed throughout my home despite informing the installer that I didn't need them since I had previously purchased them for my new home. I scheduled an appointment to have the extra equipment removed asap, took the time off work AGAIN and no one showed up for the appointment. I called to find out what happened and again was transferred this time 18 times, hung up and put on hold for ridiculous amounts of time. I was informed that no appointment was scheduled and it was past the time frame to cancel the equipment purchase (how convenient).

    At this point I wanted the entire system removed since it had been nothing but a headache - a nightmare actually from all the installation errors, awful customer service, defective equipment, charging my credit card unknowingly and not allowing me to request removal of unnecessary equipment so they can continue to charge excessive fees. Now they are also refusing to remove the security system stating it is past the two day cancellation time frame which is ridiculous. I've never been treated so horribly by a company or customer service representatives.

    My grandmother has had ADT for over 20 years and recommended them to me but after explaining my awful experience she is going to cancel the services through ADT and we are both going with another security system company and are telling everyone what I have been through and will continue to warn customers about the horrible, unethical experience I suffered.

    Do not get into contact with ADT. In the name of security they will screw you over. They will not honor your situation. They will strictly follow their so called 'policy'. On relocation, they will lure you into getting into another contract. There is no extension for it, rather there is another slave contract. The goal for them is to have you signed to contract and make money off of it. If they truly care about your security, they should honor your situation as well. When you have to cancel, you are left with 75% of the remaining contracted amount and they will never waive your fee.

    When you want to cancel, they have another trick. They will say they need 30 days notice from you. That's a lie. You can cancel by submitting a letter (with your signature) right away. 30 days notice is for them to make another month payment from your pocket. There is no contact number available for customer resolution. They ask you to send written letter for termination and you just have to sit and wait until your credit score hit the bottom. What have I learned? ADT will never get my business. I will tell everyone that I know about ADT and they can make their own decision. I certainly will not recommend them however it is not my decision. Do not get excited about their promotions. They make more money by luring you to the contract agreement. Ask if you can make shorter agreement and deal with it.

    I'm completely satisfied with ADT and I've had it for 15 years now. The package I got included a keypad with three doors, two motion sensors, the alarm, and a smoke detector. When I first put my system which was back in prehistoric days, most of it was wired. The fellow that came and wired it did a good job with the holes in the walls. Now, they've got everything wireless.

    Then one time, it wasn't communicating with the cell tower. I walked by the keypad and I noticed "LC" on the screen. I haven't seen that before and I didn't know what it was. I've called them up, they tried to contact it and they couldn't. So they sent a fellow out to check it and he said some module had gone bad in the control panel. He was great, he troubleshot my problem and got it going again. Everything's been good and I like their service. I don't use it but when I'm out of town, that's when I need it. I've looked at the other monitoring systems and I'm not gonna change from ADT to any of them because I don't know how they operate.

    I talked with an ADT operator over the phone and was quoted a price for the pulse security system for my home. I was happy with the price and set an installation appointment the following week. Once the installer arrived, he walked through my home and quoted me much more than I was told originally. I talked with the owner of the authorized dealer and she said she would pull the phone recordings to hold up their end if I was promised what I said I was. A week later I called her again and was spoken to in a way no customer should ever be treated and hung up on. She said ADT liaison had the phone recordings and she could not help me, I needed to speak with ADT, and to never call them again. That sent me on a game of phone tag trying to find someone from ADT corporate to listen and was told they cannot help me because it was an authorized dealer.

    I don't know why ADT would want to associate with an authorized dealer that treats their customers this way. I am now without a security system. A stranger walked through my home and knows every entrance and the layout to my home. I was talked to in a way no one should ever be talked to, and wasted hours of my time trying to get to the bottom of this and got nowhere. I just want to hold ADT and their authorized dealer, Night Watch Protection Inc, accountable for their actions and potentially save other customers from the hassle I have been put through by advising them to avoid ADT all together. I'm not saying ADT could never do any good, but is this really the type of company/customer service you want to associate with?

When my contract was up I called to let ADT that I was moving and would not be renewing the contract. They told me I signed up for a year service. This was very false and I had to escalate the issue to management. I asked them to forward my contract to me and that's when they said they made a mistake. I moved the next month and now realize they've continued to charge me for 3 months after. I had the account linked to a card that I rarely use. Luckily I found their mistake and they are refunding me. Such a pain.

But what they do not tell you: You have a NEW CONTRACT and you lost out on the first contract, that I only had less than 6 month. In other words you have to start all over. The district manager in Miami Elieser ** before I signed the contract he said my payments will stay the same. He lied to me. ADT started charging me more than what we agreed on. The technician put it on the contract but that's not good enough for them. He said if I had any problem to call him and he doesn't answer my messages or his phone.     Initial call to report the low battery in the unit. Was told first that I could go to the store and buy one because it would take 2 weeks to mail. I thought this was ridiculous. Why should I pay to maintain your equipment when this is part of the service I'm paying for. I told her to send it. Battery arrived and was the wrong size. Called and was hung up on the 1st call. 2nd gentlemen insisted that it was the correct battery, but larger to last longer. I told him I'd try it and call back. Called again and the rep. had an attitude.

    When I told her the battery was the wrong size she said it was the correct one. I told her the model #'s were different and the one sent was about an inch thicker and taller and wouldn't fit in the case. She said this was the only one she could send or a service person could come out for a fee. I refused to pay a fee for service I'm paying for and that she's telling me I need to cancel the service. She said I could do that with another dep. and asked what do I want to do: cancel or have the service person come out. I told her I wanted a supervisor. I had to insist on talking to a supervisor.

    After a lengthy wait she returned saying the sup. said she could send a tech. out. I repeated I wasn't paying a fee. She then said there would be no charge and set up the appt. She had a terrible attitude and was not working to keep a loyal customer. I was completely dissatisfied with her attitude, with being told to go to the store and buy a battery, with a 2 week mailing time, with being charged to have you come out and fix your problem, when clearly you don't have an inaccurate record of my eqpt. or you would have known that was the wrong battery and with being threatened with inappropriate fees to keep the service I'm paying for working.

    I live in an affluent community and many of the homes are protected by ADT as burglaries increase. Our ADT package includes protection for our windows and all of the doors, motion sensors on the inside, and smoke and fire detection. However, I've had a lot of problems in the beginning. Within the first month, the motion detector in my first wall had to be replaced. I should have had at least a year's guarantee but didn't. And then, all the batteries started to go within the first year. Finally, I bought my own batteries and started to replace them, but I had problems with the sensors in my windows because when I took them apart to replace the batteries, I screwed that up. So, I had to pay for the service calls. Finally, I got the insurance package so that service calls would be applied.

    A couple of years went by and then suddenly when the weather started to catch cooler, my heater goes on usually around 5:00 AM and would start to set the alarm off. This went on for several months. By then, I had the insurance for the service calls so different guys came out, worked and they replaced all kinds of things all through the house.

    Finally, they traced it to sloppy wiring by ADT in my cellar. The wires weren't attached up against the beam and were resting against the heating pipe. And apparently, the heat from the heating pipe for our hot water system melted the insulation and when the heat would come up, the wires would get together and set off the alarm. That took almost six months to find so I was very disappointed.

    But the ladies in the central office were terrific and knowledgeable any time they contacted me. They have tried to help me shut down and restore the system because the alarm noise was intense. And if they didn't get me at the house, they got me on my cell phone. Now that the system is very stable, I'm very pleased with it. I'd be happy to recommend ADT to anyone but would tell these people to make sure they inspect the wiring before they let the installers leave.

    The sign that ADT gave me when I signed up deters the casual thief or vandal. I got the basic home monitoring but I haven't used it since I've put it in. We don't have a thing in the house worth stealing and we live in a neighborhood where you don't hear about armed break ins while you're here. But we put an alarm on it and make sure that a friend of mine can get in if they need to.

    ADT is probably a lot better than some of the others based on some stories I've heard. For the most part, the system they put in is high quality. It's just that they use this double backed tape to glue that thing on the wall that falls of the wall. I called one woman and she was a little snarky about it. The thing is they don't have a service contractor, so they'd have to bill me for that. I said, "Okay. You guys did this work. You just put it in not even a year ago and you don't have a warranty on the working on. That thing shouldn't just fall off the wall." But she got her back up over that.

    I didn't think that was very good customer service. She basically said "If you want to have to come out and see what's it gonna cost and I'm sorry that happened. And basically, what we can do is going forward and put notes in here. And make sure the guy fixes it, so it doesn't fall off the wall again." But I'm not too concerned because I don't think that there is such a thing as customer service in America anymore. Nobody wants to feel the call. They all want you to go to the website.

    A crew from Iowa did the initial ADT installation. They did not install the correct garage door sensors. This Iowa crew returned about a week after the initial installation to fix one of the garage doors sensors. The next day that sensor was not working again. That's when I called the ADT North Platte Office, spoke to Mike who sent out Koby.

    Koby took pictures of the existing garage door sensors on his cellphone and sent them to Mike. Neither one of them could hardly believe the Iowa Crew installed sensors like what Koby saw. Koby showed me how the sensors should be installed. I asked him to order them and replace the existing garage door sensors. Koby ordered them and came back about two weeks later and installed them. I wish it had been Koby who had done the initial installation. I am impressed about Koby's product knowledge and his ability to access installation problems and what it takes to resolve the problem. Good Man, he should get a "merit pay raise". Well Done...

    I am very dissatisfied with ADT overall! The installer first was suppose to come to my house and show me the product, he then talked me into getting the services but never said anything about a 3 year contract. When I read through what I was signing I did not see anything that stated the 3 years I had to stay in the contract. After installation my alarm system worked fine but after two weeks it was always messing up and saying doors and windows were open when they weren't. Then the system wouldn't stop saying "back window open" when it was not open. It wouldn't stop so I had to turn the alarm system off.

    Then I called ADT and asked for my equipment to come be looked at and he said they couldn't have someone out until 4 days later! It had only been 16 days after I had signed up for the service so I called to see if I could have it canceled and they said I was in a 3 year contract and would have to pay 75% of that to cancel my services and get a refund! After only 2 weeks of having service that worked! This company services don't work well and they do not tell you anything that is critical that you should know about the contract. A contract like this shouldn't be done on an iPad that doesn't should all the information. On top of it I never received the contract! The worst.

    I had picked ADT because the company had been around for a long time. The service man who came out to install the system was very knowable. When he installed he gave me the option to go down to the police dept and pay the $24.00 for service with the police to answer any calls. The second year I had requested the application to do the same. They said they would mail it to me. I never received it. So I made a second call with the same request, they said they would send it to me again - never received it. Then after third call they said they had put in the application for me without my consent and they would bill be for the $24.00.

    After the first bill after they call the $24.00 was never put on my bill so I called back to make sure I was register with the police and they said I was and that the $24.00 would be on my next bill. It never came. And now after 4 months I get a notice that my bill is overdue which I paid. When I called they said that they had taken out that amount out of my monthly bill and now I overdue with my bill. I NEVER RECEIVED A BILL FOR THE POLICE REG. When I called they said they had just mailed it out and I should be receiving it soon. So they not only took the amount out of my regular payment and sent me a overdue notice without even sending me the correct bill. I have never had this bad customer service ever.

    After my father passed away, my mother put in the ADT security system in her house in Omaha. I lived in Denver and thought, "Hmm, I go and travel. Great idea." So, I put ADT in, too. They're good and their services have been excellent. If I wasn't satisfied with the security system, I wouldn't keep it and I wouldn't be telling friends and relatives about it.

    When the ADT guy came out to install the system, it turned out that someone that worked for ADT in Denver is a former student of mine, who then contacted me and said, "If you have any problems, you call me straight." There were no problems with the installation. When I remodeled my kitchen, I had the installers come back out and move the security device to another spot because I was going to put cabinets where it was before, and that wasn't a problem either. They've always sent out really good people who are cheerful and pleasant. They like to talk and I love to talk, and they get the work done in a timely manner. I have one friend who, before she moved out of Denver, so liked the fact that I had the ADT home security system, that she also had it installed in her house. When I put in a new double car garage next May, I'd like to put ADT in it, too.

    When we had our alarm replaced after a lightning strike, we came to have ADT. It's modern and more highly updated than the one we had, which was basically wired in. Our service package has wireless arming and disarming and wireless sensors in a couple of rooms. The sales representative came out three times while the alarm was being installed and he checked to see how we were doing. He also recommended some other features which would not be available to us even with another alarm provider--this thing where they look into your home, you can call on your smartphone and see what's going on in your house.

    Also, the installer was very neat, had a very professional manner, and didn't track dust all over the house. When he had to drill, he didn't leave any sawdust. We're very happy and satisfied with our alarm and the quality of the equipment, and the fact that it will report to the central station because it is wireless rather than a dial over a landline which our old one was. We've been very pleased with ADT and we plan on keeping it.

    When I inquired up my account with ADT I told the salesman I would be moving in 6 months and could I continue under my contract with them at my new residence. The salesman told me they would move the equipment with me. He said if the equipment was outdated they would install a newer model at no extra cost. My current price was based on a 2 year contract.

    I moved 7 months after I signed the contract. I called ADT to advise them of my new address. Instead of moving the equipment, they installed new equipment. This new equipment cost me an additional fee. He explained that it was necessary for me to have this equipment based on my contract for the ADT pulse. I paid for it. Then I signed the paperwork stating I got a new system and the tech explained how to work it. Unbeknownst to me, I was actually signing a NEW contract.

    So I called ADT to notify them of my upcoming move almost 3 years after signing my original contract and told them I wanted to cancel it. I was told I had to pay for the remainder of the contract (I was not aware I had more months to fulfill). Again this cost me an additional $155. I complained to customer service and was told that they were sorry that I did not understand that every single time that I moved I would be signing a brand-new contract. That was never ever explain to me.

    After I agreed to pay this amount I had some idiot sales rep in Fresno calling me telling me that he was told that I was going to be transferring my system to my new location and he wanted to come out and give me the new paperwork. I told him under no uncertain terms was I signing and another contract with ADT. This is a very deceitful way of doing business. I do sales for a living and I do not misrepresent things to my customers. From the very beginning I was told that a relocation would cost me nothing. In the end this has cost me over $200 out of my pocket. Shame shame shame on you ADT!!!

    We have had ADT for a while, however we are currently looking into other companies. We had a strange man come up to our door a few days ago and tried kidnapping one of our young children. We are currently working with the police and the news and media. The 1st question that's asked every time is "why do you only have a side view of the person walking away. Why don't you have the person's face when he was walking up your driveway." Our response to the news, media and police is "ADT cannot even answer that question for us. According to tech support our system is and was working properly and should have picked it up." Of course now its made it harder for the police to identify this person due to all of this.

    We asked ADT if they would put a 2nd camera in that area at their expense in case their system failed us again for future, and of course we were told no. As a mother of 6 I have cameras for peace of mind and security, but unfortunately safety, and security is not a priority for ADT. Talking to customer service throughout this entire process is like talking to a brick wall. We are going through enough right now trying to catch this perp, and ADT is just making this more of a headache.

    ADT is sending out a tech to look at their functioning camera, but I can guarantee you there's nothing wrong with it, because its been working, but this is their only way to do something because they have NO explanation as to why they failed us at such a crucial time in our lives! The supervisor was even nice enough to tell us we would have early termination charges and etc if we went to another company. REALLY?? You're going to penalize me for your system not working. What a company! Way to go ADT!

    My husband died three years ago and I was getting concerned about being in my house by myself. I've got a 2800 square foot house. It has limited access since there's a big fence. It has gates but they're not locked because service people have to get in. The house has about a ten-foot wall on one side and an eight-foot wall on the other side and has very few windows on those two sides of the house. I don't want windows on the sides where the sun comes in. The sales rep was a little aggressive. He wanted me to install a lot of equipment that I didn't think I needed.

    So, I suggested that we don't do a whole lot of those windows and doors and the front of the house faces north and we put alarms on the very few front windows there are and some on the back windows. All of my windows are sliding, double-paned and have double locks. We put some thumb screw restrictors so, they can only be opened like two or three inches without removing those. I've lived in the house for 20 years and I've only ever opened one window once. The only time I've ever had the windows accessed was when a golf ball came through one and it wasn't accessed to the public, it's simply broken, and I pay $44 a month for the service. We had all kinds of arguments about the windows because I really thought it was totally unnecessary.

    I also have six doors that lead to the outdoors. So, I was interested in getting those alarmed, which I did. The only time that I've had an alarm go off was when I forgot to shut it off before I opened the door. And then, on one occasion, my car had been sitting out in the heat, and it came into the garage. I opened the door to the house and the fire alarm went off. The phone immediately rang and I told the person that the car heated up the hallway. That happened twice. So, I had the alarm system put in but I really thought I got talked into more than I needed. The ads say it would cost $100 or $200 and it was well over $1000. I was not happy with that but since I wanted the system, I paid it.

    The ADT guy came, installed the device and put everything in. He asked me if I wanted one type of alarm which was not in the normal package, and I said, "Yes" and he installed that too. So the installation went very well. They're very good on their service. I had a mechanical problem and they were right here and fixed it real quick. Then one time I had a false alarm and I was not here. When I talked to the lady at two o'clock in the morning, she explained that they have called the police. So I sat there for two hours waiting for a callback to report on what the police found and I never got one. I called them and they said that they won't call me back unless there is a problem.     I’ve had ADT for a long time and the service has been excellent. The sales reps explained all the details, including getting it set up, and were very good at leaving the phone numbers. The person who installed all the equipment was fine. I’ve never had any problem with the system. Hurricane Matthew came through and I still had my alarm system work. The only thing that went out was the date. I called up, they walked me through it and I got that set. However, I still don't know how to use that feature where I can still turn it off if I'm away from home because my phone didn’t get a signal at the time for them to show me how to do it. I should be able to do it when I get it together, but never got that set up. But I know that the system works and that’s what I wanted because I’m a widow and by myself. It’s very important that I have security at my house.

    Here goes a company with which I had a brilliant experience 2 years ago in California and left them a wonderful 5 star review - fast forward 2 years and I move to Oklahoma, first it takes 5 different phone calls to cancel my service in CA, which by the way after 19 days passing is still operational and no refund in sight yet. But wait it doesn't end here.

    In OK while their sales rep seems to be a very nice gentleman on the phone my experience with the company leaves much to be desired. Installers came, smiled, installed on a house was pre-wired and already had motion sensors in place. ADT wanted an additional 300 and some dollars for glass break sensors that were included for free in my install in CA. And here is the best part; without telling anyone me or my wife they disabled all of my monitored smoke detectors knowing very well that these were the only detectors on the property so much for a company that was there to secure life and property for me and my family.

    Days later when I find out that all my monitored detectors are offline, get in touch with your monitoring station and they had no clue - actually confirmed that all is well. Called the sales rep and he actually took the time to reach out to the installers and confirm that yes they had taken them offline since they felt they were too old to be online but just conveniently forgot to mention to anyone, just like they found one zones wires to be damaged and chose to make a note and move on rather than attempting to fix them. And the fun doesn't even end there, now that I ask for the detectors to be updated I am of course quoted a decent price $100 a piece plus $59 for install. I'm good on paying for hardware but seriously is it my fault that you have to come out to install again, should this not have been taken care of at first install or better yet should you not have caught this when the property was surveyed, no it feels like a bait and switch.

    And no it doesn't even end there. So now that I have to spend another decent amount on updating equipment I am also told that my monthly will go up by $10 as well - now that makes it completely a bait and switch and whatever else kind of baloney you want to call it. I am sorry but I have dealt with many companies before but rarely have my experience gone down the drain with someone like this. Good luck ADT on the 3 year contract, I will keep my end of the bargain but you have at your hands a very unhappy, very annoyed, and very loyal customer who is now ready to tell everyone the story of the fall of the legend. Shame on you ADT for treating a loyal customer like this.

    Ww signed up with ADT when their sales rep came to the house and gave us information. My mother is with us too, and she wears their medical alert button. On one occasion, a tech came out because we changed our phone system and it affected our ADT service. He was awesome. He stayed with me the whole time, until he was able to communicate to AT&T what the situation was. It was AT&T's problem, 100%, but because of him, we were able to rectify it. Later on, we had a sign on the register that said that we had a low battery. He came out again, and was very helpful. It turned out it was the battery in my mom's unit, and he was able to change it. He also changed my key fob because I had an accident on it, where the police showed up. Apparently, I hit the panic button instead of the unlock button, so he fixed it in a way where I would have to push both buttons on the key fob in order for it to register a panic. I was very happy that he took care of that.

    We have the yard sign and the remote keypad for the keys from ADT. Installation was satisfactory. The only thing I'm not satisfied with is that the keyboard was set on top of a table instead of it mounted on the wall unlike the old system I had with Brinks where it had a keypad at the front door and another at the back. The ADT installers were good but they told me I had to pay extra money to have it installed on the wall as the package that we paid for didn't include it being on the wall.

    I've been with this company for almost a year. When I signed up to them, they said they will return my installation fee. I've called them so many times requesting for the returned, but never received it. I was really patient to them not until I received a letter from a collection agency, without prior notice of letter or phone call from PYH or ADT. How despicable is that?

    I called ADT's corporate office, and that's how I found out that they are not one company and they have no control over PYH and according to ADT's personnel that I talked to PYH cancelled my contract Aug. 28 and yet took a payment on my bank acct on Sept 1st, then I received my collection letter on the first week of October. How professional! First of all, they never disclosed to me that ADT and Protect Your Home are not affiliated to each other whatsoever, which they should have. The whole time I thought I was dealing with ADT.

    I should have notice how incompetent their customer service at, in the first place. And when I get to talk to PYH because ADT had sent them a letter regarding my complaint, let me tell you, they are the worst customer service I had ever dealt with. Super RUDE and very unprofessional to the highest level. I will never do any business with them ever again. And to those who are planning to, please save your heart, money and credit history. They're not worthy to do business with anyone.

    Recently we purchased 3 new sliding doors and we called to have ADT come and reinstall them for us because our efforts weren't holding them on... They kept falling off. We were told it would cost us $140 to have a ADT man come out to reinstall them for us. NO WAY! This should be a complimentary service we felt or at least an affordable service. That is just crazy. So needless to say, we are going to have to reinstall them ourselves even if we have to use Monster Glue to hold them in place.... Just kidding, we are on the search for more heavy duty double side tape. Really disappointed in the service here. Might change to another company once the contract is up.

    I will spare you the narrative and just list the issues from the last year. Sign up for ADT, meet with tech, fill out forms with my name. They run my card through, then first bill comes to my wife's name. One month after we sign up, and have an ADT sign in our yard, one of their door to door teams knocks and introduces themselves, asking if we want information on ADT services. Not very confidence inspiring that they didn't know we already were customers, nor did the sign in yard ring any bells.

    Bill comes in wife's name again. Call again and fix it. Bill comes in wife's name again. Call again to fix it and make payment earlier this week and they double charge my card. Just got off the phone and was told I have to have my bank contact them, and my bank says it will be 90 days to fix. When the name of the today's game is Big Data, how come ADT continually screws up and repeatedly can't fix our info, somehow can't access their files to prove that a second charge went through, and sends a team to a current customers house to sell an ADT system to someone who already has one? All in all not impressive. Let's see what happens over the next 90 days then I will report back when, you know, the bill comes in my wife's name again. Use someone else.

    Mike the ADT Tech was very thorough and found out that the transformer was out which caused the whole system to go down. He replaced the transformer and reset the system. He also relocated a camera that needed to be put in the correct spot as a result of the system being repaired. I said, "Thank you so much."     Approximately a month after our ADT system was installed we decided to upgrade to the Pulse system to have cameras in the front door and in the living room. We are not aware of the so many authorized ADT dealer out there. We then found out that the people who installed our system was one of ADT's authorized dealer. The ADT technician came to upgrade our system. After the upgrade only three out of the nine sensors are working. Also all the two fire alarms in the house that was previously installed are not working.

    We made so many calls to ADT to fix the issue. They finally send another technician and left us with nothing. Then we made the final call to cancel the service but the guy who handles the cancellation process convinced us to give ADT another try. They send their third technician and the guy took care of everything. He even removed the old controller and made everything working. It took one guy to fix all the mess.     Ordered a home package with 3 cameras. The technician installed the system and told us the cameras would arrive next day and he'll come back to install them. That didn't happen. 3 weeks later he comes back again and drops the cameras, says he needs another app to install them and he'll be back next day. That doesn't happen either. 1-2 weeks later he returned saying he couldn't install the cameras because they weren't for the outside which we ordered but he recommended keeping them and installing them by ourselves wherever we wanted to and that he'd change them as soon as the outdoor cameras arrived. They had obviously charged me for these cameras already. I told him we didn't want those and after a long argue and checking with his boss he accepted to take the cameras back.

    I called customer service and they told me that the cameras appeared cancelled on their database and the money would be wired back automatically to us. The technician went upstairs to retrieve the cameras and he also took the modem and disconnected the alarm. He obviously didn't say anything. We found that night when trying to set it on. We called them to cancel the service and they told us we need to pay cancellation fee for the 3 years even though the alarm hasn't worked a single day since we bought it. The camera money hasn't been wired back and now some ghost charges started to appear from ADT as well. This is just a nightmare. Hours and hours on the phone being transferred from wrong department to wrong department and suddenly getting hung up. Just hope this ends soon.

    We have two cameras on our ADT package. What I do not like about them is that they are too low for beginners, and they are wired in. Somebody could come up and just hit the wires with a knife. Then, we won't have the cameras, and we pay $80 or $90 a month. Also, one of our cameras was not staying up in position. In fact, the cameras weren't put where I wanted them because of the excessive wiring that needed to be put in to have that done. I just backed out the conversation, then my husband, as well as the installer, put them up. For the money that I pay, I would much rather have cameras that are up higher, with no wires.

    I have had problems with the system apparently going off. Well every time it has happened we have been home and had no clue that anything had even happened! ADT says someone pushed the panic button. The panic button sits on the counter and no one even looks at it!!! The police has shown up twice. And ADT has called me multiple times saying that the system went off. Wrong!!! And then I set up an appointment for someone to come out and see why it's happening. They didn't even show up.
