    We've had ADT since 2005 and we got the doorbell with the camera in it and the inside camera. The guy that put the alarm system in was fine. I'm very satisfied with ADT, other than to have to charge the batteries often. The battery goes dead in the doorbell about every two and a half weeks. Nevertheless, I'd recommend ADT.

    I started in the 1980s with the security system but somebody kept buying them so I've been with three different people. So far, ADT's service has been excellent, however, I don't like the way they keep raising my bill. A couple of months ago, I was paying $43 something and they had ads on TV for brand new people to go to ADT. It would only be $28.99 a month.

    I called them and complained about that. I told them I've been with them since 1980 and questioned why my bill keeps going up when new subscribers pay almost $20 less than me. They lowered my rate to $28.99, but a month later, it went up a couple of dollars. Now, it's up to $34.03 again. All they keep doing is adding up the bill. If they do it one more time, I am out of ADT and I'll go to someone else. I also wanted to get from ADT one of those things that you put on the door where people come up, ring the button and you can see it but I'm almost afraid to call them and ask them what that will cost me.

    A couple of years ago, we had some problems with our ADT, but we got it all taken care of. It's been three years since the last time I had to call someone out, and that was when the windows were a little bit sensitive and I had to get that corrected. But as far as calls go, they will call sometimes if we forget and open up a door with the alarm on. That would happen occasionally when we don't know the alarm is set and we go outside or come in and forget to turn the system off.

    I have door alarms, two window alarms, and a sensor in the house from ADT. My dog set the movement sensor off in the house and within seven minutes, they called me and tried to check to see if I was supposed to call a cop and I said no, that it was probably my dog that set it off. They’ve been really good to me. When I go somewhere, I normally tell them I'm setting the alarm and that I'll be gone for so many days, and if the alarm goes off to not even call me and just call the cops first and then me afterwards. So far, they haven't had to call me.

    The only problem I have is I don’t know how to change the batteries in the remote and on the pad. In fact, I don’t even know how to punch it in on the pad. My wife knew but she passed away, and I never really sat down to have her show me so I would like to have somebody come out and show me. But I'm very happy with ADT and I'd recommend them to anybody.

    The alarm company that I had was bought out by ADT about 10 years ago. The service was converted over and I've had to fix the account a few times over the years because of payment stuff. I've had a couple of alarms and each time they contacted me really quick.

    Worst experience ever. Unreliable and irresponsible service. Even for urgent matters you have to wait online for at least 30 minutes. And because ADT was not able to pick up my phone call within a few minutes as stated clearly to me the police was dispatched. When you tried to explain no one at ADT cares to take any responsibility. I have been with ADT for almost 10 years and they will not consider your loyalty if something goes wrong. I decided to leave this company. Even your alarm goes off now you will be asked to press 1 then 2 then... and wait forever. Think twice if you want professional and timely service.

    We're living in some old country town and my husband did some research and wanted ADT. We haven’t had any problems with it so far. But I have made mistakes when I got it all, went outside, had to come run back in for something, and the alarm went off.     TL; DR - I would highly recommend staying away from ADT or their dealers. They really do not care about their customers. They sweet talk you into signing up and then they give you the impression that their base package is junk and then they install things without asking you and they would give you wrong information and finally they will make you sweat if you want to cancel. I paid up just to get away from this company and not see them ever again. If you are working and want to save some time and be hassle free and need a good security system, DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT ADT!

    I called their customer service and called them to do the installation based on a contract price of $27.99/month. They gave me some deals on the phone and sent someone for installation. All this time I was thinking it was ADT, but in reality I was talking to a dealer (which never struck me) and the person whom I spoke to, never mentioned it. They also said that the person who will come in will demonstrate services before installing.

    On the installation date, the person who came in, started drilling a hole in my wall without even asking me anything or demonstrating the service to me as mentioned in the phone call. I learnt that the $27.99 was so basic that I will have to wire my home, no phone app and no cellular backup and so on. It was practically unusable package. I was kind of pushed into making a decision on choosing $52.99 package per month by practically marketing that $27.99 was worth nothing. I was given three days to cancel without penalty.

    I called Xfinity after this to enquire about their packages and they said they could do all of what ADT offered in $30 per month. So, I called the ADT customer care and they gave a fax number to send the cancellation request to. I sent this immediately over to them and cancelled. I also called them several times to confirm that they received the cancellation.

    Three days later, I get a call from the dealer saying that they did not receive the request (I have no idea how they learnt about my intent to cancel). I was surprised and now they state that they are a dealer and not ADT. It seems like I sent the fax over to ADT when I should have sent it over the dealer. This was because of the bad information provided by ADT. Worse, they could have at least told me when I called them again and that did not happen either. Zero customer service as they did not even own up their mistake.

    I call the dealer again and speak to them and they accept that it was ADT's mistake and they said they will call me back next day to resolve. One week later, I still haven't received any calls. So, I call them back to check in. At this point, they start ping ponging me between ADT and them 2-3 times. I was frustrated after 3 hours on the call on a working day and finally I get someone to cancel this. Eventually I paid up the 75% of the contractual balance, but it was a hassle before I could cancel.

    I am very happy with the service I received from the agent when I had to change my master password because it had been compromised. The door that I was having replaced had a sensor on it that of course had to be removed. I did not phone ADT to tell them that this zone would be affected. It wasn't until several hours later that I received a call from ADT regarding this sensor. The gentleman that was installing my new door commented: "They're [ADT] just now calling you? I've been here already for about a couple of hours." If an unfortunate event would have taken place and someone was harmed, ADT would not have placed a call for help until hours later. This is not the service I expect from ADT. I gave the rating 3 stars because I like the equipment but hope to never find out in an actual event if ADT will be there when and if we need them.

    Around 12 months ago, I signed up with ADT. The garage door sensor to my factory was installed wrong and after a few days, my new $5500 garage door was ripped apart and caused major damage, causing me to have to replace the whole curtain. I have a limo company and all my limos were locked inside my factory for the weekend, causing me to not be able to supply many people, including people on their wedding day, their limos they had ordered.

    I was eventually reimbursed for the garage door and that's fine but I demanded that ADT take their alarms and other bits of pieces away from my premises and terminate my contract, as they were very unprofessional installing with the matter, not calling me back and not sorting out their problem. I should mention that it was a separate contractor who paid for my garage door, which was good of him. ADT agreed to terminate my contract, but did not stop sending me texts and emails at all hours of the day and night. I told them to come and get their things and leave me alone many times. They persisted in me signing this contract, which I didn't want to do, as I was sure they were trying to trick me into accepting responsibility when it was clearly not my fault.

    As my wife is pregnant, I recently signed the form and sent it back, just to stop the middle of the night texts and daily emails, which they didn't accept as it needed to be signed by the secretary also, which is also me. Once I signed that and sent back, they said I can't sign both myself. They are bombarding me with texts and now sending me bills again which is completely unfair. I did not even activate my alarm before these huge dramas occurred, costing me nearly $20,000 in lost revenue well as some very angry customers that weren't provided the service that they paid for and ruined their events.

    We have used ADT for a year and a half now. We purchased the equipment and even upgraded because they said we could take the system with us when we moved. We called to have it removed and reinstalled in our new home since we sold our current home and they said this wasn't an option. We were flat out lied to. Now we've leaving it with our home and stuck with a $750 cancellation fee. Not pleased at all with the customer service or how the company has treated us. There are plenty of other companies out there with more competitive prices and better business ethics.

    I have some unprotected windows and I thought that if someone entered through one of those the MD would sense them as they walked through my den. Apparently another alarm must be activated for the MD to be activated and then only after 3 minutes. In those 3 minutes we could be subdued with no alarm having been activated. I don't see the value of the MD if it is only activated 3 minutes after another alarm has sounded. I don't think I was charged for the MD but I would like to know if my understanding is correct. I called 1-800-689-9554 and was referred to Installations but the installer was out and was left a message to call me --I haven't heard from him.

    Hello Harvey- It appears you may have been in contact with an ADT Authorized Dealer named Defender Security or Protect Your Home.

    The answer to your question honestly depends on the mode in which the system is armed.

    If your system is armed in Stay mode, that would be correct because your motion is not armed to begin with. Another device would have to be triggered in order for the motion to turn on.

    If your system is armed in Away mode, as it should always be when you leave your home, all of the sensors should be armed and ready for action. (The motion detectors do have to wake from sleep mode but that occurs within a few minutes after arming the alarm.)

    The house that we moved in to already had the ADT Security System and it has been upgraded since then. But my only problem is I have a tendency to set it off from time to time and we've had some false alarms. Other than that, everybody has always been very polite and pleasant when I've had to interact with them. They did a little bit of sales talk but they weren't obnoxious about it.     Number one straight out of the box. The $100.00 Visa card is a joke. Who is going to go through all the trouble for $100.00? And then to find out after 30 days it is not valid. Our first "real" alarm was because of a stuck thermostat on an upstairs heating system. This could have caused a fire and I am glad ADT called me. What is irritating, they want the customer to confirm a need for emergency personnel before they will call 911. I had to check my security cameras via my cell phone and then I was to call them back. I called back and was put on terminal hold. I ended up calling the fire department myself and they met me at the house just in time to prevent a fire.

    The second event happened a few days ago. I was on the way home and had my phone on silent. I missed the call from ADT that a rear door alarm had gone off. I did not discover this until I was home for over an hour. The message was very hard to understand from ADT but sounded like they would call the police. Apparently they did not, as the PD had no record and they never responded to my residence. I later found marks on the rear door indicating someone had indeed tried to gain access.

    I was also very unhappy with the alarm horn they installed in the upstairs closet. You cannot hear it from the downstairs master bedroom much less outside of the house. I was told this was the best they could do. My original horn was in an exterior vent and was very loud and worked well, the two techs that tried to use it could not figure out how to make it work with their system. For these reasons I am not happy with ADT and I am just waiting for the time to pass so I can get out of this contract and find a reliable alarm company.

    I had ADT for over 10 years in California and a little over 2 years here in Idaho. The service was good in California but here in Idaho, it's a little bit different. The thermostat panel went out a couple of times and they had to replace that. I asked them to come right away and work on the thermostat right in the middle of winter where there's too much snow and they did. It was an emergency because my heater wouldn't work. So they're pretty friendly, very nice and helpful. They're also very professional and attentive. Sometimes I open the door with the alarm on and they call right away.

    As far as price is concerned, it's a little higher than others for the same service and they should look into that. And when I wanted to add a camera for the outside, they wanted to charge me extra for that. I didn't want to do that. It should be part of the package. Also, the clearness is a little bit mediocre. There are other types of thermostat they can get me but I also have to pay extra for that. However, the system works and I'd recommend them.

    ADT's response is very quick. If it's been a case where the alarm has accidentally gone off and I called it in, they're willing to cancel the alarm if they have not called the second person on the list or they haven’t called the police yet. They were understanding. I have the keypad and use the wireless a lot, which is very handy. But I had a motion detector and it was aimed at a level that my cat set it off. When I called to get it changed, they told me that it could not be changed without charging me an extra fee, so I have not been able to use that particular feature. Also, I don’t like the way the price keeps going up. It's about double since I started and yet it's advertising a reasonable rate and claiming to have a $1 a day rate for new people coming on. But then I'm up to about $54 a month now, which is quite high and I never know when it's gonna stop. I have considered even cancelling it because of the price. Overall, ADT has been satisfactory.

    Several years ago, I had Riley service before I got ADT. The experience has been fine with me though I'm very seldom at home. When I go somewhere, I turn the alarm on and when I come back, I turn it off. I got the camera where I can look at different things. If I'm away from home I can program my number in, look back at home and see what's going on. Their people have been helpful so far as well.

    DO NOT USE ADT. I have been a paying customer for over 2 years. I got a call that my burglar alarm was going off. I told the ADT employee that I was not home and to send the police. She kept me on the phone for over 5 mins refusing to call the police because I could not give her my password. I told her that the password was only if I didn't want the police sent.

    At one point, she even said "I feel like I am wasting your time." I had to hang up the phone and call the police myself. I shudder to think what might have happened if I was actually home arguing with some about calling the police if the burglar was going to hurt me. I called to complain the next day and the ADT person helping me had already been fired and they told me they had screwed up. The worst part, they will NOT let me out of my contract... even after failing to hold up their end. They sent me to 4 different people who all said I had to pay to get out of my contract. This company could have gotten me killed and could care less.

    We had ADT before we had Comcast. While with Comcast, we found out that it was divided into two sections, selling it and the actual security. It wasn’t very responsive so we switched back to ADT. Tyler, the sales rep, was always pretty responsive and their installer was great too. I'm satisfied with my service and it seems to be working really well. The only thing was I bypassed three zones, and originally, the technician that installed it put a shortcut into it, but I forgot what the shortcut was. When I called back, they said I had to call out the technician again to put that back in and they would charge me for it. I wasn’t too pleased with that. But other than that, ADT works really well.

    When I signed up for ADT it was amazing how attentive and responsive the sales agent was. Then the system gets set up and good luck ever getting in touch with ADT. If there is a billing issue you better be available 9-5 to speak to someone. You also should save at least 30 min to start to talk to someone. Good luck if you have anything more complicated than updating your credit card - that's when you either get transferred to somewhere called "data" or given a random email and told "they'll get back to you in 72 hours. Anyway, the system is fine enough, but you better not have the need to speak to a human and if so I hope you don't work or have kids and want to take care of an issue at night or a weekend.

    Our security system installed by ADT, including 8 cameras and interior security system, including 2 secured boxes for caregivers to use for heavily disabled family members, and 3 additional secured rooms, this company included a smart phone in our contract which was purchased and they refused to supply, refused to instruct me on the use of a smart phone download, and wrote our pass codes on our security manuals, which were stolen including the CD. The remote was stolen and they refused to replace, and they downloaded the entire system to my email address which was then accessed by the suspect stalker, who is an electronics professional. Horrible organization. This was $12,000 out of our pocket to install, plus monthly fees for approximately 3 years and they refused most maintenance on the system. They twice discontinued our contract for no reason other than it was too high maintenance for them.

    ADT was authorized to debit my checking account ONLY for the initial installation on my rental property. I made it perfectly clear to both the installer and the sales rep that I was only authorizing the charge for installation. They continued to take unauthorized monthly payments from my checking account for over a year for a bill that was in my tenant's name and refuse to refund. I never even signed the contract! Buyer beware of ADT. They don't even offer paper billing. They get your account number at the time of installation and CHARGE even if the account is not in your name! Bad business!

    My cousin referred me to ADT and she said the burglars in the area respected their service a little because they fear that they would be caught if it's a house with an ADT sign. A sales rep came in, gave me all the ins and outs of the system and which one he thought would be best for me. He was very nice, respectful and really helpful. He taught me some things about how when to set up the install and wait to detect the sensors and why to best protect the valuables I had in the home, so he was good.

    Had ADT since 2014 and nothing but problems with their equipment. Techs have come and replaced sensors and 2 weeks later they are quote "defective". I've had false alarms which the local police department has responded and sent me $150 bill for. Guess who had to pay that? Me!!! I was told by the tech the main hub is crap and should be upgraded but when we call management they have done nothing for us and say we need to pay to upgrade when their equipment is faulty!!! That's BS. We even told them if they refuse to make us happy and replace the system to something that works then we would like to cancel. Their response was, "Ok no problem. Your cancellation fee is $425." They have no problem taking our money and not trying to fix their faulty system.

    For the times it failed I took chances and told the cops not to go because I didn't want another $150 bill from the police department. So a few weeks ago I decided to install cameras at my house because ADT is unreliable. I am a manager of a business and I would never treat my customers with such bad service and faulty/defective material. I usually don't write bad reviews because they reach people a lot more than good reviews but I felt this one needed it. Since they refuse to help us I am calling other companies and getting quotes and will be canceling with ADT since customer service doesn't seem to be their specialty. DO NOT USE ADT!!!

    The price for monitoring has gone up over the years and I wish it hadn't gone up quite as much as it did. That's one piece I wish were a little different. And I need to have somebody come out and make some adjustments on the sensors. One of them is out of place and so it's hard to use the system and I always have to bypass one of the entry points.

    But the thing that concerns me most is fire hazards and they're really great about that. They're very patient with us. I have some teenagers that routinely heat stuff on the stove that has grease in it and heat it through high, and so then they get smoke. Even this morning, I got a phone call at work. It was like, "How do you turn the smoke alarm off?"

    One thing I really was impressed with was that the alarm has gone off maybe every two to three weeks over the period of the last two months and so at some point within the last couple of weeks, I got a phone call from ADT. Their question was, "Was there some mechanical thing that was malfunctioning that kept setting off the smoke alarm?" And I really appreciated that because they just said they noticed how many calls they had had and I have their number taped up next to the alarm and we call them and they call off the fire department. They were concerned and they wanted to make sure that everything was okay. And I started laughing and I told the woman who called what set it off and why it was set off. And she just laughed. She said, "Oh, I have kids."

    So they were really gracious about it. They didn't yell at me or anything but I really appreciated that they would track the frequency. To me that was over and beyond the call of duty. It would be possible for somebody to have a heater that frequently overheated. It was the middle of the winter and so I was glad that they paid attention to that. I'm glad they called to check up and make sure everything was okay and I was glad that they were kind when I told them what the problem was. They're reliable. When stuff has happened, they were right there.

    I have been a customer of ADT for over 7 years now. When we moved we transferred our services. At least that's what we thought but we were placed in an entirely brand new contract. We were then billed $1300 for breaking the contract. After several calls we were assured that this was an issue between ADT and their contractor, I had nothing to worry about.

    Long story short they have been reporting this amount to the credit agencies for YEARS. We started contacting their billing department, at each contact was assured the appropriate paperwork was sent to have this removed from my credit. Well, it has not been removed. I am unable to receive decent loan offers, and now have to show the bank that I have paid them, since they reported as a new account last month.

    So not only have they damaged my credit rating, but their rep in the rudest tone ever tells me they will do anything except submit the appropriate documents, I am not being given anything. I did not ask for a hand out ADT, but I do deserve to made whole because of their gross negligence. Not only was the rep Danny ** snotty, but while informing him how these actions have hurt my family, yes I was crying, there was laughter. I guess losing my affordable home loan, was hilarious. No customer service, no loyalty to their customers. I wish I would have sent that rep away. You probably should!

    I purchased a home that had already had the ADT security system installed. Well, upon moving in, the smoke detectors were constantly screeching and going off, the keypad would be going crazy, it was so annoying! It was startling my newborn baby and we were just tired of not being able to take control of our home due to this ADT system. So, we called up and spoke to a rep, who ensured us that they would fix all the smoke detectors and synchronize everything. Sure enough, the sales rep didn't know what he was talking about. We had 2 different techs come out to tell us that they were unable to mess with smoke detectors and we were already into a binding 3-year contract! Our sole purpose in starting ADT was to get in tune with our house and stop the annoyance of the talking unit and smoke detectors. This has never been fixed. Spent numerous hours trying to contact ADT, and they were always rude and unhelpful.

    Called to cancel because we are tired of dealing with the issue, after a year, and they tell us that we're in contract and completely ignore the fact that they lied to us to get is into an agreement. One rep tells me $800 to cancel. One tells me $1250. After speaking to a "manager," she tells me $644 or to contact corporate with a written letter. This is absurd. ADT is such a scam of a company! No wonder they are in business, they profit off of innocent individuals, making false promises whatever they need to say to get them locked into a binding 3-year contract with full termination fee of remaining months on contract. All representatives I've spoken to in cancellations department are rude and do not care to address any concerns that the customer may have. ADT is such a scam, do not fall for their lies!

    When I first set up the alarm system, I made it clear to the rep I wanted to think about it first. They informed me "oh we can just send someone out to go over it all with you, no need to install." They also don't tell you what it all really includes in the installation which isn't much. Then when the installer comes out, he just starts installing and his job is to sell you a whole bunch of other add-ons. Before you know it, it's hundreds more than what you were expecting, and they make it sound like they are giving you a discount. They tell you they will give you a Visa card for the reimbursement of the installation, they neglect to tell you that you have to pay for a cashier's check to get it. They also state it can take up to 6 weeks to receive, well it's been more than 6 weeks and I am still waiting.

    They neglected to tell me up front about the alarm permit, or how it all really works. They just say some cities may require you have one, they don't explain to you, that they will be sending you one and you will reimburse them with payment. Instead you get a package with your permit and another mail item with a bill asking for payment and you're just supposed to send payment without questioning if this is legit? So I call to get confirmation and have to leave a message. 24 hours later I get someone who leaves me a message, doesn't answer my questions but I decide let me just pay as I did some research and I believe it to be the company.

    I also had sent them an email during this time since you can't get a human on the phone, no response. So a week after receiving bill, I send payment. Ironically that same day, their bill department calls asking for payment. I tell them I just sent it in the mail, and you know it's nice you can call me for payment but no one can call me to answer my questions? One of the things I did not understand is why my permit was dated for before I purchased alarm, the rep proceeds to give me the wrong number to the wrong city I need to speak to to confirm my permit. I wait on hold for 20 min, on my lunch to be told I have the wrong number.

    Two days later, guess who is calling me again. The same bill collector, I remind her that I have no control over the mail. She then finally gives me the right number after I complained that I can't seem to get anyone to call me back and give me correct information. Anyways two days later this same lady calls me and I tell her she needs to stop calling me, my payment is on its way and she proceeds to tell me that I will continue to be called until I pay. I tell her I want a supervisor and she just drops me to a voicemail. Horrible horrible customer service. Mind you I am up to date on all my monthly payments and we are talking about a 40 permit fee, that I sent in the mail per their instructions with reasonable time frame.

    I find another email for the company, and finally get a respond to all my questions! I inform her of my experience and tell her I want a supervisor to call me, I finally get a call two days later... Mind you since then the collection company has called me two other times, but I can't get a supervisor to call me? The last collection call was today. I called back to remind them not to call me anymore on this issue and also so I can confirm it wasn't actually a supervisor calling me. Guess what the lady tells me, "oh we did receive your payment, it can take a couple days to process." But yet they are still calling and harassing me every day for 40.00, and I'm over here still waiting for my Visa card. Conclusion, go with another company! Horrible customer service, good luck speaking to a person, and they lie by omitting truth!

    Speechless. No other customer service experience has brought me shaking from nerves. No a calm natured person, I tried to reason with my tech so he can perform the service of the cameras that lasted working only 2 weeks. I waited 3 weeks for the sales guy to show up even to adjust my camera. Then when the back camera stopped working I was patient for another week and a half. I waited cause he assured me he doesn't want the tech on the project to get in trouble. And when all the cameras gave out and he refused to pick up my calls - I called customer service for a new tech.

    I went in between the manager and his tech who had no understanding in their character. 0 understanding. I had a plumber there to sign off for them which they didn't want to do - I am in Illinois and can't fly out for a repair. Now I need the cameras I paid so much for really bad in the area. I said I will sign off on anything they need me to not holding them liable about anything - that is how desperate I was. Rude, inhuman, not understanding. A common theme throughout my ADT experience that I pay so much for. I bet small companies really appreciate you and are willing to work with you.

    I am very pleased with ADT. I like that I can be so far away from our 2nd home and know it is being watch at the same time. My only issue is that I did have an issue with someone opening the door at this house and it was in the Mechanical room which no one can get to the rest of the house by opening this 1 door. Alarm did go off and ADT did call me. Being 4 hours away I ask for them to call Police. Police did show up and I guess Police made a very small attempt to close the door but did call ADT back and said they could not close the door and owners need to come and lock up. This message was not given to me from ADT. What was told to me was that the officer did try to close the door the best he could and thought it was good.

    Well when I did get to this house at 8:00 pm both doors were wide open. I did call the police and they came back and they explain to me what happen. Now I will say it may not be the police officer job to secure my home but they get a big FAT F for effort. What ended up happening was the FEDEX guy came to the house and pulled on the doors very hard. I guess my dummy Door was not secured. This door has 2 through pins. That is the only way that door would have open. All is good and it is a learning curve for me.

    Satisfied with the service provided, but wasn't given equipment ordered when signed up. When the tech did the installation he didn't have the glass break sensor that I ordered with the salesmen. He said that he would check on it and get back with me. I never heard back from him. After about a week of not hearing from him I called myself and was told they would have him come back. During this waiting time we had a issue with our motion sensor and had to have the tech come back out for false alarms.

    When I talked to the service dept I told them about the glass sensor again and that we never received and he stated that he would put it in the "notes" for the tech. (This was the second call with questions about the glass break sensor we never received.) When the tech arrived to fix my motion sensor he said he wasn't informed about a glass break and there were no notes in the work order. I called them back and at this point they tell me I never ordered a glass break sensor and it would be $190 for one. Seems I was told what I wanted to hear just to get me signed up and under contract before I was told the truth!!!

    My husband and I are moving to another community. We are seniors and are downsizing our lifestyle to incur fewer expenses. We wanted to change over to another company receiving the same service for less money but were basically told that we are locked into our contract unless we pay the large fee ($772) to get out of the contract. If we choose to keep the service at our new location we will have to enter into another three-year contract. So, unless the buyers of our home take the service we have we are with ADT for another three years or for life. While you may be satisfied with what they are offering, be careful to review the contract before you sign. Know all of the restrictions and binding agreements in the contract.

    ADT's sales reps were knowledgeable and the installation went good. We've had experiences of the batteries going bad and beeping. It's always in the middle of the night and my husband goes to the panel to check which sensor it is and replace the battery. Also, there were a couple of times when we accidentally set it off and had to call or they call us about different things. Other than that, everything has been good and I would recommend them.

    I am very disappointed in this agency. I feel they use 3rd parties that practice deceitful sales tactics and provide misguided information to the consumers who look to them to keep out the criminals. I was sold 2 smoke detectors that did things that my normal smoke detectors did not do. I lived in apartment so I thought this would be pointless but then was told this is equipment that could be taken anywhere I moved. I lost my job and decided to move with family until I could find work. In hopes of being able to take these smoke detectors I called to get the systems removed as I was told when I moved they would take the equipment down.

    Because I was not moving into a place of my own right away they would not take the equipment down. If you are not permanent where you live I would recommend not using this company as paying for the extra equipment for added windows, doors every time you move because different places have different layouts is stupid. GO with a company that does not charge for the equipment for your security concerns. It seems like they took advantage of a single mother's concern for safety. I won't be recommending and when I get settled, I won't be calling for their services.
