    We like having the security of ADT!! Thus far the system has worked flawlessly and I highly recommend it! When we purchased our system we also purchased a service agreement as we were told by our salesman that, with this there would be no charge for a service call. We did not read everything but took his word for this which we should not have. Today we find out that we won't have to pay a service charge but will have to pay a "TRIP charge". Really...

    A few weeks ago, I contact ADT because I sold a property in **. I asked to move the service to a new property. But the person who answered my call, said that I have to sign a new contract and leave the equipment on the old property. ADT connected a new equipment on the new house. I never received the cancellation of the old account. And I called a lot of times. I spent more than 4 hours on the phone and nobody can give me a answer and a solution on that. I do not want to pay for an account that is not mine anymore! And I am not going to pay the cancellation fee because I asked since my first contact to "move" the service to the new property. I need an answer as soon as possible. My lawyer is going to take care of that. Thanks!

    We have been with ADT since 1989 and appreciate their services. There should be a better way of dealing with an alarm control situation when we are out of town. They need to use a backup scan using the motion detector and resetting the system.

    I feel safe with my system. I have had it since 2004. It is now 2017. Some of it like the keypad and no key fobs are outdated. Otherwise I am happy with the service. I asked her to stay on the line while I checked the house for open doors/windows which she did and I confirmed to her that everything looked fine.     May 31, 2017 I pass out and came to with a broken femur in my left thigh. I struggle to get to my key pad and hit the panic button. You guys were amazing in notifying the authorities so quickly.     Overall we are satisfied with both the performance of our alarm and the service we receive. We did have a period of time when the alarm would go off within an hour of setting it but a service call took care of the issue. Recently we did some remodeling and a door with an alarm on it was removed as well as shortening the wall the alarm was on. When the service man came to move the alarm, it didn't occur to him to adjust the alarm for the removed item. We had to have a second service call and pay $25 for something that took a minute to adjust.

    Before we purchased ADT weren't sure how long we will be at our property for to become full-time RV'ers. Spoke with ADT. They told us we could transfer service. Decided to go full-time in the RV. Try to transfer service and ADT offered the person that purchased our house instead of taking over our contract, free equipment that is already there mind you. A Visa gift card also. So that way they would get another contract out of it and 1300 out of us as well. This to me is underhanded and sheisty business. Beware of ADT and do not believe what you are told by them!!

    Research showed ADT was one of the better opportunities so that's what I took. I've been with them for about three years. I wanted to do it good so we have the monitor at the back door wherein we push the little buttons, the sensors on each window on the main floor and on several windows upstairs that have access from a small deck that somebody could try and get in. Also, we have them on a sliding door, a side door, and a front door. And we have a camera on the outside facing the side door and a camera on the inside facing the door. We have our ATV and boat in the garage so we had our garage covered with it as well. The technicians have been nice and knowledgeable.

    We called the customer service team once or twice because the lock that was installed on the back door that has the code numbers that I have to push doesn't always work. Sometimes it wouldn't open and close so we just either turn it with the key or the remote. I was told that it was installed by a company not affiliated with ADT. But that was my only problem and I have recommended ADT to a friend or two.

    The service from ADT is good and I have no qualms about it. I purchased the alarm system and got a couple of keypads and the yard sign. Also, everything was good with the installation team and they were fine. But I've been shopping around to get a better price on different ones and they're all about the same. I like ADT but we're in our 80s now and I find it's a little expensive. Everyone is trying to save money and save a few bucks, especially when you're 80 years old and you're retired. If they could get me a deal on it, that would be good.

    We had an ADT system installed in our home in February 2016. We thought it was doing its job until a couple of weeks ago when an agent from a competitor company dared us to allow his company to disconnect the ADT alarm system and see if the alarm center would call. It has been almost 2 weeks and nobody from ADT ever called, so we called ADT today and canceled our account.

    Some might wonder how we made this decision, and it really boils down to one thing... ADT did not call when an alarm system that they were supposed to be monitoring was disconnected/interrupted. Since the bad guys have 30 seconds from the time they shatter the patio door to the time they use the same hammer to bash the keypad off the wall, this means that in "Smash and Grab" situations there is zero protection offered by the ADT system that was in our home. Our new system definitely caused an alarm when disconnected! The new company called within 22 seconds!

    It's interesting that most of the reviews are so great for this company. I just tried to cancel my service and was told the buyout would be almost $700 and that the contract I signed (which coincidentally wasn't given to me by the installers) is 39 months. The interesting thing is that I specifically asked not only the guy who sold me on ADT but the installers and the customer service representatives if this was a contract containing a cancellation charge or time requirement. Wouldn't you know, each representative said that it was month-to-month (of course). I suppose this is Capitalism at its finest!

    I have the money. That isn't the point nor should it be. It's once again being blatantly lied to and held hostage by a 30-page contract containing 3pt font size. ADT knows you won't read the contract because if you did, it would take an actual donkey's year. No one has that time, especially while the installer is in your house. I don't even really like to have my friends over to my house... Why, then, would I want one of ADT's Refugees hanging around my house longer than he has to? I don't and neither does any other human being on this planet... And ADT knows this. They count on this fact. It is a calculated pressure cooker requiring our signature double-time due to the desire for that uniformed automaton to abscond to whence he came.

    The unfortunate thing is ADT hires young kids and other people who I can only assume are too lazy to go to college and who probably have bare essential life skills. As such, these kids do not have the ability to read the contracts themselves (more than likely due to their ADHD) nor do they understand the importance of honesty in business dealings. My experience with ADT has been one amateur experience after another. The technology is not as advertised and is so unsubstantial, it borders on embarrassing.

    But based on all of the other reviews I have read, maybe I am the one who has the problem. Maybe I should just assume I will be lied to by a giant company like ADT. And why not? I'm just a guy trying to protect my family while making the best decisions I can. Why would I expect not to be taken advantage of by ADT? Well, ADT, you're a sham and it shows painfully through those who work for you. Your employees are fraudulent but not because they are bad people. Rather, they are unknowingly set up to be fraudulent because you pay them low hourly wages with a commission incentive to sell your spurious services and pseudo-technology. Thus, they will say anything to get that commission because without the commissions, they cannot afford a viable lifestyle. Congratulations on being yet another Corporate Colostomy Bag and middle-class sycophant.

    To future customers: Maybe it will be different for you. Maybe my experience has something to do with some sort of cosmic comeuppance that I was due for... maybe. Regardless, you probably should read the fine print. It will take you an entire donkey year, but at least you will be able to gather important facts about your alarm system that will probably work sometimes. However, I do believe we should rise up (haha) and not deal with companies who treat us, the people, the customers, the reason for their existence, like soft-touches... like patsies. We are betrayed, ladies and gentlemen. We are ever betrayed by the products and services we buy and the Corporations peddling them. Corporations are nothing more than a vice squeezing us out of every penny they can without basic thoughts of right and wrong. So, thanks, ADT! You're a real POS.

    When we signed up for ADT, our address was correct on the contract. However when we were out of town and there was an incident at our home, the police in Keyesport Il were notified rather than the police in Lebanon, Il, where we do live. I had to call the Lebanon police myself. I was transferred to several departments trying to get their mistake corrected, and was told the city had been corrected. I have called several times to report this and requested a paper document with the correct city be sent for me to sign.

    Finally a month later I received the document, which I signed and returned. Now this week I have had 5 emails with the document attached... still with the wrong city. I called again today and was assured once again that the correction will be made. Once again I requested a correct document be mailed to me. We'll see how that goes. This whole experience with ADT is unacceptable. I have been paying their fee for all these months and have NOT had the security I paid for. I would not recommend ADT to anyone.

    My husband and I received an ad thru mail from ADT. The ad said $27.99 per month Home Security System with control panel, motion sensor & wireless remote. It includes Free system activation, 15 Free pre-wired Door or Window Sensors and Free $100 Visa gift card. My husband called the 1-800 number to get more info. He was told that a technician will come to our house and explain all the details and that an installation fee of $99 will be charged at once to "facilitate installation".

    The technician came 2 weeks after and immediately proceeded to make a hole on our wall to install the control panel. He said this was their standard procedure to make sure that the system will work. We told him that this was highly unusual because we haven't discussed the terms and policies and what will happen if we don't agree. He said the hole will be patched up by the company. So, after installing the control panel, he sat us down and presented to us the best security plan that he thinks will give us the best protection. The plan will cost $6,000.00! We definitely said NO. Then he lowered the cost to $2,000. Again, we said NO.

    He asked us how much we are willing to spend and he will call his manager to get an approval. He did not explain to us what the ad included. When we asked him, he said the ad gives us only 6 door/window alarms and 1 sensor for free. Since this was not enough to fully protect our house, we had to get additional alarms and ended up paying $543.75. Next he said the monthly fee will be $52.99 because the system will use our cellphones. He said the $27.99 stated on the ad is for a landline use. The ad did not specify that the fee is for a landline use. I found out after installation that our credit card was charged an installation fee of $107.66 even before the system was installed.

    The $100 visa gift card was to compensate for the installation fee. To redeem the gift card, I have to pay $4.95 S&H and it had to be via a Cashier's check or a money order. My bank charges $10 for a cashier's check! I called the company from where I will redeem the gift card (it's not ADT) to complain and they said that they will accept a personal check. We never received any contract of agreement from ADT so the terms and conditions of this security plan is not very clear to us. I have mailed a letter of complaint to ADT and have yet to receive a response. My husband and I feel that we were trapped into buying this security system because of the way the technician handled the installation procedure and that he was not very well-informed of the terms of the plan. The ADT ad is false and highly misleading specially about the $27.99 monthly fee.

    I was visited by ADT rep. And was told there would be no install charges and set up an appt. The guy that came advised of different options on my windows. Stated with either option monthly fee would be the same. But never said of one time fee which totals almost $1200.00. After I asked him to dill out the security certificate, he still failed to fill it out. He responded to my message after I reminded him for 2nd time. Said he would come back and fill it out. He never did. So I spoke to my original rep that had visited me. Said he would fix issue. He never did. So I had to place a 3rd call. After all that, they also failed to display the alarm sign in my yard and recognized they failed. Til now, they still have not. What bad, expensive and inconvenient service. I reporting them to the state.

    I am so very dissatisfied with the customer service experience I had with a division of ADT- which is AMS- this division as I was told works as a middle person b/t ADT and the police. The representative I spoke with lacked the very basic training to answer questions. Here is what happened. On Dec 14th, 2016 when ADT called to advise of a triggered alarm- No one was home as both my husband and I were at work. My husband answered the call and informed the ADT rep. That no one was in the home as both he and I were at work. The ADT rep asked my husband if he would like ADT to send the police and my husband stated yes.

    Later that same day when I spoke with the ADT representative, I asked him 2 questions. Firstly, where the alarm was being triggered from- he told me the garage door, then I asked him what could have caused that to happen given that no one was home. He said it could have been the wind. I then asked him if we would be charged for that. He said NO. I know that all calls are recorded. So, when I got this bill in the mail, I called ADT and explained the matter, focused on the fact that I was told there would be no charge for the dispatch. I was told to escalate the matter to the AMS as there was nothing they could do. I do so via email as instructed.

    I then got a call from (Benis or Venus). After several times asking her to spell her name she wouldn't. She told me that the decision would stand and that I would have to pay for the dispatch. I asked her if she listened to the call. She said NO. I explained to her that had I been told I had to pay, I would. But I was told otherwise. She ended the call telling me she would call me the next day. June 6th she calls and tells me that the decision will still stand. I then asked her who I can escalate the matter to, she placed me on hold and came back on the phone and said "Acenia" (I believe that was the name she used although I am not certain) said the decision was final. I said "Ok... can I have the spelling of the name of the person you spoke to?" She replied by telling me that they are very busy right now... I NEVER asked her to speak with the person. I asked her the spelling of the person's name.

    At this point I lost my patience. Because she refused to give me the spelling of the person's name. And then she says, "You can escalate it by emailing an appeal." They never listened to the tape. This interaction in a 24 hr time span has left me completely disgusted with the ADT experience. As a Sales Manager in sales, when our employees misrepresent our company either intentionally or out of lack of knowledge- we never penalize the customer. I will submit an appeal but I have a feeling that I am going to get nowhere because no one is willing to retrieve the recording and audit the call to find the truth.

    I have called ADT 4 times because of their PULSE app to help monitor my home when I am away. The reason for the call is because the app is not working. Their reason for the APP not working was because the PULSE app was deleted from my account. This deletion was done without my consent and I received no notification this was the case. When I asked for it to be reinstated, they said they had to research why it was deleted first. And then I was put on hold. Each time, the phone calls result in being on hold for 30+ minute with no resolution. Last night I spoke to a supervisor and she told me she would research it, but it's been close to 24 hours since I spoke with her with no call or answer to my question. I'm very frustrated and dissatisfied with this service and with the response of ADT in this matter.

    We have had ADT for about 2 years now, and it has never fully worked. We are supposed to have an alarm chime on every door but the back door never had one and the sensor has never worked either. There have been times I let our dog out the back door while the system was armed, and it never set anything off. There has also been several other times when we would get home from work and the alarm would be going off and we, nor the police, have ever been notified (not to mention there is no telling how long our poor dog has had to listen to it).

    When we tried to get an ADT tech to come out and look at it, they wanted to charge us a certain amount of money per 15 minutes, for something that was their fault to begin with. When I called to cancel the appointment, the person I spoke with was not at all concerned about my complaints, they simply canceled my appointment. After that, every time I called and chose the option to "cancel my account", I was told that it would transfer my call and it hung up on me every time. I finally chose a different option and was transferred just fine.

    Overall, I am mostly disappointed in their expectation of having the customer pay for their poor installation. The product itself, I believe, may have been better than our experience, had our needs been taken care of by the company. Now we are completely fed up and are having to pay almost $300 to get out of our contract for a service that never fully worked. Next time, I will be looking for a security system who is confident enough in the satisfaction of their product to not press their customers for a contract.

    Happy to be back with ADT. Only have had one problem and still we have not gotten an answer as to WHY it happened. May 9 our alarm went off approx 2:10 pm and we were not able to shut if off. We called and spoke to several people and no one was able to help us. For 40 minutes this alarm was blaring and we had a difficult time hearing anybody or anything. I was asking if they could send someone to check out the system as to WHY it went off to begin with. We were both home and it just went off. Still to this day I am wondering what caused this? Well we know it works, but I was actually shocked that NO ONE showed up: police, fire, just really don't understand. First time this has ever happened and I pray it doesn't take a spell like this again UNLESS we are needing it! Thanks!

    I do not normally publicly do this but since their corporate office hides behind their webpage and can't be found to contact I am posting this here. I would encourage anyone considering ADT to use something else. They are like car salesmen. The sales team will be all great and professional. Promise you the moon. Then when there is an issue, you are on your own. They cut off our service in our current residence without authorization when we had service installed at a new location. Even after explaining repeatedly to the relocation specialist that we did not want the service discontinued at the current residence. They cut off the service at the current residence anyway.

    When I discovered it, it took almost a week and a half, 15 plus people, most of whom were card reading CSR's that were useless, and screaming at the agent on the last call to get something accomplished. Oh and she was the Cancellation Specialist. It took all of 5 minutes for her to message the apparently one and only reactivation "specialist" for all of ADT to get them to flip the switch.     And since they planned to rape me for $1000+ for a cancellation fee, I'm forced to keep their service with all its "customer NO service". Now, that it is reactivated, I still have to have a technician out to "make sure everything is hooked up properly" when nothing changed with the system except they flipped a switch at corporate. What a joke of a company. I am sorry I ever decided to trust them with my safety and security. I would advise anyone considering them to consider alternatives. Do it yourself. But avoid ADT.

    I want to let everyone know what ADT has done. I canceled my contract, that I already had for 3 years, back in November of 2015. Unbeknownst to me, they were taking monthly payments from one of several checking accounts I have. But not for one account, for TWO! When I learned of this, I contacted ADT. After getting the runaround for a few months. Being told "yes we see a cancellation back in 2015" to "there was no cancellation". At the end of the day, they admitted fault to ONE account. I'm getting a refund for that. But for the other account, they're keeping 1 1/2 years of payments. Why? "It's an early cancellation fee". The original contract was in 2012 and canceled in 2015. By my math, that's 3 years. But they say that once you move your services, the contract starts all over again for another 3 years. I wasn't told this either. Be careful when you deal with these people. They can't keep their story straight and rip you off... big time!! STAY AWAY!

I've been getting the same service as before except this time I've been getting more emails. Thus far, what I've been doing is paying a fee. I have had a couple of trips on my side and gotten some phone calls as well. While I appreciate the phone calls, I wish their service could do something a little different. If the price is going to go up, I'm not interested in the system.

    On 4/30/2017, I called someone at (I thought) ADT to get a quote on home security for my new house and had received a flyer from ADT. It turned out to be a subcontractor named Protect Your Home and I asked A LOT of questions before deciding to schedule installation. I asked if I could charge the installation fee to my credit card, but the monthly fee to my debit card. The woman said yes. I asked when they charged the installation fee. She said not until after installation. She told me I was eligible for $850 worth of free equipment and that my credit score qualified me for a $27.99 per month rate. She even told me that I'd get my installation fee refunded via a $100 gift card "right after installation."

    Well, the first red flag was that my credit card was charged the very next day. My installation was a whole week out. Then, when the installer showed up on 5/6/17, he was overly "car salesman" (no offense) and just skimmed over any questions I had with super upbeat answers. When he asked how I wanted to pay my monthly fee, I told him by debit card and gave him my debit card information. Then, he hit me with the news that TWO months would be debited right off the bat. WHAT!? To calm me down, he then told me that I wouldn't have to make another payment until July. NOT FOR JULY, but UNTIL July. (This is important for later.)

    He also told me that I didn't qualify for the lower rate b/c that was only if they could use WIFI for my service and told me that b/c of how my WIFI was configured (not enough speed or whatever), I had to get the cellular service. THAT added $20 to my monthly fee. Then, he told me I wasn't approved for $850 of free equipment, but only $600 worth and I'd have to pay for motion sensors, etc. I put my foot down and said I was not about to pay for motion sensors when the woman told me I was getting enough stuff to cover my entire home. He just kept saying he had no control over what was said on the phone and that "they" were not him and he was "just the installer." He was very quick with his overview of how to use the system and seemed in a hurry to leave once he had my signed contract and financial information. He gave me a booklet, told me to read it, and then left.

    I realized he didn't give me copies of anything I signed and they weren't in his booklet. I called their customer service line and someone said they'd email them to me. I didn't get them. The next day, I called again and they had my email address incorrect. I finally got the paperwork and read through all of it. The next red flag I noticed was that the $100 gift card required me to fill out an application to request it and send in a $4.95 processing fee by money order or cashier's check to a PO BOX and the company wasn't even ADT or Protect Your Home. What?! So, I don't even get a full refund of the installation fee. It cost $105 for the installation. I had to pay $1.00 for the $4.95 money order. I couldn't even send it with tracking confirmation bc it was a post office address. The form said to allow several months for processing and that I only had a 30-day window to claim the gift card.

    The third red flag happened when I got an alert from my credit card company that I was over the limit. I checked and the company charged the two months of service to my credit card, not my debit card. I had specifically told the installer that I didn't have money on my credit card and had just enough to cover the installation. That's why I wanted my debit card used. I called Protect Your Home who told me I had to talk to someone at ADT. I called ADT and the very terse woman in billing pretty much called me stupid and told me I should have read my contract before I signed it because I can't change the form of payment for the first payment(s) and that they have to use the same form of payment as the installation fee. I asked why no one told me that when I mentioned it to two different people. She said they didn't have to. I should have read my contract.

    Then, she told me that I could go online and change it for the June 4 payment. I said, "You mean July, right?" She said - "No, June 4". I told her that the installer told me I didn't have to make another payment until July. She said I was mistaken. I have to make my payments a full month in advance. I said that this was not what the installer told me. She said I needed to talk to Protect Your Home about that and transferred me right back to them.

    So, over the course of two hours, I spoke to 5 different people at Protect Your Home, trying to explain what had happened, how I needed a refund of my credit card payment, etc. I finally got to a "manager" who assured me that everything would be corrected promptly and that my credit card would be refunded the two payments (less taxes!!!), and that my debit card would be debited two payments (plus taxes again!!) and for my inconvenience, he was going to shave $5 off of my monthly payment amount going forward and give me one free piece of equipment. I chose the smoke detector.

    This all happened on 5/8, 5/9, and 5/10. Installation of the smoke detector was scheduled for Friday May 12. I told the manager that I had lunch from 12:30 - 1:30 and needed the installation to happen in that window b/c I just couldn't take time off from work to sit at home and wait on the installer. The installer showed up at 12:50 and it was the same installer as the week before. So, I decided to call him out on the incorrect information he told me. His rude response was that he had been doing this for 6 years and he would not have told me any of the things I said he said and that it was my duty to read the booklet and materials to know what I was getting into. I seriously thought about having him just take the whole system back. That is not good customer service and I am not a liar.

    I FINALLY got a refund on my credit card (which was $4 less than their original charge) on 5/15 but they had already charged my debit card on 5/11 for the two months. So, for several days, my account at ADT showed over $180 worth of payment being made. I thought maybe things would settle down. Then, on 5/28/17, I had a power outage at my home. I remembered that the installer told me that I'd have battery backup and no interruption in protection for up to 5 days in the event of a power outage. Well, I needed to leave the house and went to arm the system, but nothing happened when I pushed the buttons.

    I called ADT customer service and a woman told me to remove the faceplate of the keypad, take out the battery, and then put it back in and it would resolve my issue with the keypad not working. I was like, "Are you sure?" She said yes. So, trusting her, I removed the faceplate. But, I couldn't remove the battery as it was tightly screwed into a compartment and I didn't have a drill or screwdriver. She just kept saying she was sorry but that's all she knew. I hung up on her. I replaced the face plate and the keypad started working. Sadly, not properly, though. It was displaying several error messages.

    I called ADT back and a young man told me that they never would have told me to remove the faceplate and transferred me to Protect Your Home. I got a rep on the line who said that I had to have a technician come out and fix what I broke. I explained I didn't break anything and that it really concerned me how there was absolutely no sense of responsibility at the company. No concern for my safety. I said I didn't even get any kind of calls about the fact that my system wasn't working properly. I asked if I'd get an account credit for the fact I wasn't going to have protection for several days. They couldn't get a tech out before today (5/31). He said I'd have to talk to someone after the issue was resolved to ask for an account credit.

    On a whim, I decided to check the status of my $100 gift card this morning and the company MPELL states that they have not received any request from me for the gift card. They told me I could resubmit and pay another $4.95 or request a trace of the money order to see if it's been cashed. It will take weeks to get a response from the money order company. So, I can pretty much kiss that gift card goodbye. I don't want to pay another $4.95 (plus the $1 for the money order) to get the gift card. That means I'd have paid close to $12 for a stupid $100 gift card, which still doesn't fully refund the $104 installation fee.

    I wish I had seen the negative reviews before I went with this service. I trusted ADT's reputation. I guess they are just eager to make a buck selling their licensing rights to these other companies and don't care about reputation risk. I have written letters to the corporate offices of both Protect Your Home and ADT. No response. I also have a feeling that when I call them to get a service credit, they are going to give me the runaround. It's going to be a LONG three years. This company needs some major training on client satisfaction, client retention, and responsibility/ownership. Everything I've said can be supported by the alleged recorded calls. I should have recorded my interactions with the installer. Hindsight is 20/20. My gut told me he wasn't telling me everything when he was there, but I ignored it. Who else has he been misleading for 6 years?

    I recently signed up for an ADT home security system and had it installed by Safe Haven Security, first they were not straightforward about the pricing, they told me and it's reflected in the contract that so would pay monthly installments of $53.99, however, I am actually being charged $57.77 per month because of fees they neglected to mention. They are also not delivering on the service that I signed up for. The service is dependent on cellular towers and apparently, the cell tower near my home is degraded. It often stops communicating with ADT and chimes frequently about system problems. Then to top it off, when these problems happen you don't get a call from a real person. You get a call several minutes later from the automated system to let you know the system is having issues and the message tells you to reset it (but it tells you to call them back for assistance). No one has told me how to reset the system either.

    They lock you into a 3-year contract and won't let you out unless you pay 75% of the remaining amount left on the contract, which in my case is about $1,800! They do this because they know their service isn't worth the price and once you discover that, it's already too late, they've got you trapped! I've called a few times to express my unhappiness with their service and they are unapologetic and unwilling to do anything to rectify the situation. I am counting down the months until I can be released from this contract with ADT. 3 years is a long time to be forced to have this subpar home security system and disgraceful customer service. Buyer beware, if you do purchase a home security system, don't go with ADT. You won't get what you pay for and they have a contract that protects them only.

    Horrible customer service and horrible system. Definitely would not use this company. They may be the most sold systems but how many people keep them when the contract is up? I asked to cancel my service one month after having it installed due to problems. They asked for me to keep it and give it a try.     I’ve been a long time customer of ADT and I’ve been perfectly satisfied with the service that I have received. It was by default that I got to ADT. Initially, I was with Rollins, a company that ADT bought out. Once ADT took over Rollins, the service I got early on was very satisfactory, so I had no reason to consider going with somebody else. Some of the Rollins people also went to ADT so some of the names were still familiar when you call the office and schedule an appointment. Two of my very good friends also work for ADT here in San Antonio. That was nice because it gave me a remote connection with ADT.

    I don’t see a technician as often as I want to and I know we’re doing more for ourselves than before, but that’s okay. ADT is reasonable and they have instructions online. I am a single woman and I try to do as much as I can for myself, but sometimes I’m just uncertain about doing things and I want to do them correctly. Recently, I changed the battery in my smoke detector. When I was resetting with my keypad, I wasn’t doing it properly. I went online and then ultimately called for help. I’m always pleased or satisfied whenever I call for help or I have questions because ADT’s service people are always helpful. For someone who’s over 65, and coming from that particular segment of the population, I feel very confident knowing that ADT’s on my side.

    Do not use this company if you value not having billing issues. I've used them for 4 years with billing issue after issue. Finally switched to Northstar last week. Today ADT tried to charge another quarterly fee to my account even though they have the cancellation on record. Apparently they think I should keep paying them for an extra month. HAHAHA NO. The CS lady was completely unhelpful and rude on the phone.

    Seriously avoid this company. They use the exact same monitoring service as Northstar so all you're paying for is who handles your equipment and billing. Already have the equipment and this is the 7th billing issue I've had in 2 years. So done with their shady business practices. For the record, I work in the medical field and this is an honest review from a fairly unhappy customer who got no money for writing it.

    4AM today, beeped like crazy. No idea what it was. Thought it was a weather warning since we had tornadoes in the area yesterday. Didn't know if we should call police. Tried to call ADT to see what to do. Took several minutes to navigate the phone tree. Finally got on hold for next available person and was cut off. Had to call back again. Finally got someone who said it could be the battery. Said they were only good for about 5 years. Only had the system for 2 years so didn't think that could be it. Went to basement to check it and it was the battery. Went to CVS, Walgreens, Walmart and no one had this CR123A battery. ADT mailing me some but that will take 5-7 days. Wondering if the beeping will start again if we don't find another battery. Not sure why there would be such a shortage of this size battery. Very frustrating.

    I'm a customer of ADT for over 15 years and I having the worse experience of my life. My nightmare start in (March last year 2016) with a false alarm that the dispatcher sent the police to my house, even when I said not to do it. That false alarm created a $216.00 bill from the City of LA Police Department. When I contacted ADT they said that they will send me an email with the authorization of refund the money. That never happened and that cause my alarm permit to be suspended.

    After the back and forth phone call and asked to come in and take the alarm away from my house and they never did. The alarm is not working since that incident and I end up with a $216 dollars bill. A not working system and also ADT sent me to a collection department. I called them back couple days ago and asked again and again to remove the system from my house and the answer was that I has to pay for the removal and also she said that is expensive. And that I have to pay the bill and leave the system in even that is no good. During all that time the keypad was making a troubleshooting noise follow by the harassment phone call; I keep on calling then and they keep telling me that there is no appointment available til ??? Please I need your attention for preventing this company to screwing more people.

When I initially bought the house, I talked to their customer service representative and they provided answers I needed. The technicians came to refit the monitors when I put in a door.     In February of 2017 an installation technician was dispatched to my residence. He did not complete the installation as promised, numerous appointments have been made but no one shows up during the period of time agreed. ADT refers issue to their independent contractor, Defenders who still have not completed my installation as of 3/23/2017. And they are billing me without an operational system in place. When I request to speak to a manager they keep me on the phone for hours. My original customer number they claim is invalid and I have to give them my full name and phone number. Bad customer service.

    Before I was signed up, the sale person was so nice and installation is free, free service call and service. Then later I have to pay some of the installation fee, they also secretly increase monthly fee. I had problem once and they said they need charge trip fee each time they came over. I hardly use the system since then, but I cannot cancel it because of the agreement. They said they will send me a certificate for insurance, they never send it to me.

    ADT is always there! I just don't understand why they don't install a flashing light for people like me who is hearing impaired. I set my alarm for say while I am sleeping and sometimes forget that it is armed... Then I go outside and the alarm is going off and the Penn Hills Police come and the I get charged a fee by the Penn Hills municipality for a false alarm. I am paying ADT for an alarm that I can't hear because of my hearing disability! ADT don't care about people with hearing disabilities!!! Been a customer for almost 5 years now!

    First off, ADT is way overpriced. If you are not careful, they will automatically renew your contract and getting out of it can be problematic. When the system was originally installed, the installer did not take care to make certain the motion sensor was not pointed at a heat source. Every time the heat went on, the alarm went off. It was aggravating at first, but once I discovered the problem, they did fix it quickly.

    We recently had an alarm issue with our local police. Our system is on file with our local police. I had left early one day, but left the alarm off to allow my contractor to enter the house and perform some work for me. My wife forgot that they were coming and she set the alarm. The contractor arrived, used the key I gave him and set off the alarm. As is standard operating procedure the alarm company contacted me via cell phone when they could not reach me at home. I distinctly told the operator that I was aware that the alarm was going off and that my contractor set it off accidentally. I informed them that I would be home within three minutes and that there was no need to contact the police. I gave them the proper security code so that they knew I was, in fact, me.

    Despite my assurances of not needing the police, they contacted the police who were waiting at the house when I arrived home. I explained everything to the officer, verified my identity and turned off the alarm. A few days later, we received a warning ticket from the police department due to the alarm incident. Once I am able to do so, I will be leaving ADT and will be using the services of another alarm company, most probably SimpliSafe.

I'm not a very patient person when it comes to calling utility companies regarding service, but this phone call was one of the pleasant ones.     I needed to check alarm after receiving a text 30 minutes after the alarm went off. I was 20 miles away from my home and tried to use my Pulse feature to turn off alarm because I have 2 dogs and the alarm is very loud! I also needed it to VIEW my home with the camera I had installed. Needless to say, I could do neither. I phoned ADT and the rep said nothing could be done and the alarm would shut off in 5 minutes! Not very reassuring!!! She said that Pulse is having Network Connection Problems. So a lot of good Pulse was when I needed it in an emergency situation!

    I am calling ADT today and I want compensation for this! I am sending images showing that it took 30 minutes for ADT to send an alert to my cell phone that my alarm had gone off. That happened when we were still home, and as you see at 6:10... I was able to reset alarm by putting in code twice. However, when the alert came through 30 minutes later at 6:40, I thought the alarm was going off again for another reason... either a home invasion or a glitch and I was concerned that if it was a glitch and it would damage my 2 Golden Retrievers hearing. Not to mention they are rescues and would go into panic mode!! I will hope you work with me and offer some type of compensation for this error on your part. We pay A LOT (too much) for your services and this is unacceptable. I will await a response and if I do not hear from ADT, I am calling later today to discuss this situation.

    UPDATED ON 05/22/2017: I have been a customer for 6 yrs. Unfortunately, since I am now in a 3 year contract... they knew they "had" me and refused to work with me. ADT Pulse service was out when I needed it most. I phoned ADT and the credit they offered me was $1.80!! Are you serious? I asked her what it would cost to get out of the contract and she snapped and said 1,285.00... I was in shock and she just kept saying "Yes ma'am, yes, ma'am"... I said to her that if I was not in a contract that she would never talk to me the way she did... awful. A $1.80 credit is the best they can do for me. AWFUL!!!!

    I am not happy with MY service and I want out of my contract. The company that did my installation is a 3rd party contractor and I feel they do not represent ADT values or commitment. The system was not thoroughly explained. I do not feel safe in my home. I was better off without this system. The installer did what he wanted to do and not WHAT I wanted as a customer. WHAT I am not happy with 1. I don't have a keypad upstairs 2. I cannot monitor movement downstairs 3. Windows don't have sensors. The installer says I can use my phone. EVERYBODY don't use their phones all of the time and for EVERYTHING! If you are going to send the same installer I will NOT open my door. This is discrimination against women and ** folks.

    After 2 years of my ADT contract, I had to move but I moved into a friend's house while awaiting my own. ADT billed me $1000 because I didn't have anywhere to move the contract service. I am disappointed that ADT wasn't understanding on holding/waiting for me to get a place to live. I was never late, I offered to return all equipment, and didn't discuss ADT service error (I requested full camera service and received motion sensor cameras). Don't agree to any ADT contracts. I served 2 years, I paid for 2 years and ADT thanked me by billing me $1000 for canceling my service. DO NOT AGREE OR START ANY CONTRACT WITH ADT.

    Please know that you have up to 2 years to take advantage of ADT's relocation benefit. By relocating services, your termination fees at your previous address would be waived.

    In addition, we show that you completed an upgrade to your services in June of last year under a 3-year term. Since termination fees reflect 75% of the remaining contract balance, these fees are valid.

    If you choose not to relocate your services in the next 2 years, ADT will also waive the termination fee if the new homeowners activate the existing equipment in their name.

I've had police coming to house for false alarms and friends being woken up late or early in am. Most of the techs that have come here have real bad attitudes.     The Technician, an Introvert, did a great job with the technical aspects of the Installation. I was disappointment with his lack of customer relation skills. He did not seem too concerned about our ability to correctly understand/operate the Key Fob Alarm Device. The Technician worked quickly and silently during the job but offered limited Customer Interaction with myself or my spouse during the installation. I would have preferred to have had a Technician who would have been more interactive with us, and more committed to providing adequate training information to us on the Alarm Key Fob Device. The Technician's priority seemed to rapidly complete the job; avoid contact with myself or my Spouse, and meet all Management Performance Quotas (which he may have achieved!).

    I can only hope that ADT Management will be pleased with his level of Productivity/Time Management Skills at our Residence, along with his apparent lack of Customer Relation Skills. I do not want Management to call me with any apology. I only ask that Management provide us in the future with a Technician who can meet Management Quotas, and also be properly trained in contact with Customers. You might also want to train the Technician on how to Smile more often when communicating with the Customers. I have been a customer of ADT for 20+ years and have been very satisfied with ADT service. I have had numerous interactions with ADT Technicians in the past, and have not encountered any Technician who was as "cold", and "unfriendly" as this Technician was.

    If you accidentally set off your alarm and enter your code to disarm the system, you may or may not be notified. To further explain this, on a burglar alarm the signal will transmit 30 seconds after the siren activates. On fire/carbon monoxide/medical/or any type of life safety device the signal transmits upon activation of the siren. Once the alarm signal is received in the monitoring center, the agent will start notification procedures of the signal. However, if an authorized restoral code is received, the agent may disregard the alarm and an Interactive Voice Response call is placed to the premise number. This procedure is to help reduce false alarms being reported to authorities.

Is that woman (I believe the call came from your Jacksonville office) out of her mind? What's wrong with her?     We called for a repair due to the alarm for door entry going off in the middle of the night after being set. A repair person was to come on Saturday. He/she never showed. We called.     I am very pleased with the security that ADT gives us and with response time. However, the price advertised on your commercials is misleading: we have basic service with fire monitoring, and we pay over $50/month, not anywhere close to "about a $1 a day".     I needed a security system and ADT was a prominent name. We got the normal burglary prevention system. My windows and doors have sensors on them. I've also got two wall control panels. It was installed 16 years ago. Dealing with their sales reps and their service has been very good. Every once in a while, we have somebody come out to service it.
