    For the most part, we love our ADT Pulse system. We do, at times, have problems with the keypad. The buttons don't always press when you push them, and when we come in sometimes, the alarm doesn't chime. We assume we forgot to set it, and a minute later, the siren goes off. Loud. Sometimes we key in to arm it and it doesn't arm right away. Sometimes I can't get video feed in the app. If it comes unplugged, you get no warning until the battery is dead and the alarm goes off and ADT calls or the police come by. If you decide later you want more cameras, it's pretty much a no-go on getting a reasonable price for installation.

    We had 2 different appointments for an installer to come out and give us a price and install a new system to our home. Took off work both times. The secondary company that ADT contract with is SafestreetsUSA. The 1st appointment we took off work and he was a no show, second we took off work (june-30-17 between 4-6pm) called us at 5:30pm and said he was double booked and what did we want? Told him Claudy **. And said they would call us again to set up another time. We felt he just did not want to come out. Never got an email or call back from SafestreetsUSA. We wanted to add on to our existing account. Which we only had for a few months. And if this is how ADT runs we will not renew our contract with them. Terrible customer service. When you call ADT they say it's the secondary company, well your name is on the bill.

    I monthly check on your service. One person tells me I will not have service for so many days due to cell tower problems. I call after the recommended time for service and am told by your operator that my device was not canceled. I have not only outside service but also a cordless cell service inside. When it comes to receiving credit for down time all of sudden I did not have down time. So who is correct?

    I've had, what is now, ADT for well over twenty-five years. I've been satisfied with the service over 98% of the time. The problems will be easier to text than everything that is excellent. My main concern is having to go through the automated phone system to be able to talk to a live person. Once conversing, all the employees are courteous and extremely knowledgeable. Appointments are promptly set and the techs call when they are on the way and even clean up if they drill or anything else that causes a mess. Basically they leave the "area" as good as, or better, than it was when they started. My second concern was when I sold my house and moved into my "family home". Both homes had ADT. The home I sold had a smoke detector. The family home did not.

    ADT promotions (advertisement) said when you move your system will be moved too. I conversed with ADT and they would move my system. Because both homes had ADT I was told the only way to add the smoke detector was to pay for it. I told them what the advertisement said and they said it was their policy. Then they wanted to set up a time to install it. Though I have a "service contract" with ADT, I would still have to pay. I told them no. Other than those two problems, everything is adequate.

    We had just returned from a vacation, when my husband was left alone in our home. He decided to go for a ride in his Mustang "to charge the battery". After setting the ADT alarm system, he backed his Mustang out of the garage and drove off. Evidently, he took too much time and the alarm did its job. He said he wasn't across town when his cellphone started ringing. He pulled over but missed the call. After driving for another half mile, his phone rang again. It was his friend who is our backup contact when we can't be reached. He informed my husband of the alarm notification and the police being informed, so the Mustang got to do a short gallop home to meet with the police and reset the alarm. We were quite happy with the outcome of my husband's "little test of the system" and recommend ADT to everyone who asks about a home security system.

    I recently had trouble with my system giving constant trouble signals so I called ADT and then sent a technician out. He came early and gave me a call to let me know that he would be to my house shortly. He not only fixed the problem but he also check the whole system for defects. I was impressed by his knowledge and professionalism. He also found a weak link in the system that I had and suggested a motion detector in a room that was not projected instead of window units to cut down on the price.     I am so glad to have ADT. We've had a lot of rain and the power went out. I have an alarm on my sump pump. ADT alerted me that the sump pump was full. They call the house to make sure I was OK. I told them that the electricity was out and I did not have a backup battery powered system to help me eliminate the water from the sump pump. So I was in the basement hand bailing the sump pump for three hours. ADT is the best service anyone could ever want. They asked if they should discontinue the alert which was going off every 45 minutes as the sump pump was filling up. I told them I didn't want them to discontinue the alert as I didn't know when the electricity would come back on and if I fell asleep in between bailing out the sump pump I was glad to have that alert come in from ADT. I don't know what I'd do without them.

    As a new member when I have a question I have always tried to use the HELP Center. I enter my question and have NEVER found the answer I am looking for. I end up Googling the question. Sometimes Google takes me back to MyADT but to the actual area to find the answer. Sometimes it directs me to YouTube. I was not here when the system was installed, so maybe some of my questions were answered at that time. The system is fine. The website Help Center needs work. The first time I wanted to test the system I didn't do it correctly so I did not hear the alarm. When I asked if I should hear the alarm in the Help Center it only gave me options about changing batteries. We were NOT advised that we would need to register our system with our city...we found that out by accident. That information should be shared with customers. The salespeople should KNOW their own area.

    We recently were awakened by the alarm going off and an error code on our display stated I needed to check my connection (your company should have the exact details as I was on the phone three times about it). We received no phone call from ADT, and spent the first night resetting the alarm. This occurred again, and I decided to call (approximately 1:00 AM) and was told there appeared to be an outage, and that ADT had a cell tower that was down. There was no backup plan to reroute my service through another tower and we spent about two days where we could not set our alarm. It continued to sound off constantly with little relief until I was able to get information on at least turning the volume down.

    I will say that those I spoke to on the phone were very helpful and courteous, but they could only assist in my turning the volume down as there was no way to shut the damn thing off until the cell tower with no backup could be repaired and service restored. SO, two things need to be addressed. One, allow for the unit to be shut off until a repair is made, and two, get a backup for when communications to a tower go down.     For $200 a quarter I think ADT should provide a little more pro-active customer service. Particularly considering all of the less expensive options available today.

    One option might be a check of system by ADT reaching out for a check of the system. How about a once a year email listing a couple of days that I can set the alarm off and you will respond. Or how about an email listing all contact info you have to check its accuracy.

    $800 a year is a lot of money and it would be nice to know that ADT is really out there listening. Customer service is everything. Prove that ADT is not just a buy a couple of pieces and stick them on your windows kind of company. Did I mention the $800 a quarter PLUS the $2300 I spent a couple of years ago to update the system to the latest and greatest.

    I recently upgraded my alarm system to ADT Pulse. Big mistake. Cameras don't work away from my house. When I am away from home the cameras don't show a picture on my phone. Door bell works when it wants to. Camera takes too long to open when doorbell rings. By the time camera opens either the person at the front door is gone or there is nothing to see. Customer service people don't speak English. Installers don't show up. System STINKS.

    We've had ADT for 15 years. We had it once in Western New York and when we moved down here I called up and they sent somebody then we figured out where we wanted the sensors put in. But my wife was a little irritated. We were out of town and something malfunctioned with our alarm and we never found out anything till we got a note from the sheriff's department. We got an incident report and ADT didn't bill us this time. Other than that they do what I want them to do.

    ADT security system sucks and so does their customer service. I cancelled my service with them a month ago because it wasn't working. It was supposed to be an immediate termination but nope they charge me for June and today I see they charged me again. Now they are clearing their miscommunication by saying that they can't return June's payment and they have to wait til August 4th to refund my payment for July... really? Three weeks before they refund your money on a mistake they did. Never getting them again...

    We already had ADT at our older location, then the district manager went out of his way to come to our house to ask if we are going to be getting the same service transferred to our home. We appreciate it because we were not even thinking about doing that yet. But when the installation team came, we did not have internet access so they had to come back. The young guy that came in was very nice and polite. He seems to know what he was doing and explained to us how to use it. The service was professional overall.     I have been with ADT for almost 10 years. After I moved they placed my new home security and I lots of trouble with it and had trouble getting them to come out in a timely manner to fix it. Yesterday we need to move the modem out of guest room since it chimes and alarms and wake up our guests. I called about moving modem to new room. They want $110 for 30 minutes and then charge on 25 min increments. Spoke with supervisor who would not budge. I think as a basic service this should be done or at least at a lot less than $110 for 30 min.

    Bad company. Took 10 minutes to call the only time I needed them. And when I told them I was moving and couldn't have the service where I was going, they got snotty. And they are holding me to a three year contract. The service will stop so, basically, I am paying them to keep a default off my credit. Old time loan sharks were more honest. At least you knew they were going to screw you. Since I paid for the expensive install, it is strictly service only so why a three year contract? They are requiring me to pay them for not providing anything. Why don't we have law making this fraud? They have an excellent rating on their website but I couldn't find anywhere to post a review. Hmmm.

    ADT contacts me when there's an issue with the alarm and everything else. When the alarm goes off, they usually call us to see why it took so long for us to get to the panels to disarm and we tell them, and they were very friendly. They're also very knowledgeable. However I had an issue with the repair person they sent out. What happened was, AT&T came here because I have internet issue and they were telling me that ADT is the reason why our system is slow. I said that's not true, but I'm no technician. And then the guy from AT&T was cutting some wires and cut off a wire that belongs to ADT.

    So I called ADT to see what's wrong with my security. ADT sent this older gentleman and I explained to him what happened. He got very upset and ticked off. He still came out here and he was having one of those tantrums. Then he told me that for him to run the wire and fix everything, he needs two technicians and it was going to cost me over $500. I got upset when he told me that. So I called the technician back from the AT&T. He came and repaired the whole thing and didn't have to run the whole wire like the older gentleman said. But other than that my experience with ADT has been good and I will recommend them. ADT does free installation and gives some free items when you order as well, which is nice. I also had ADT back when I used to live in Illinois.

    I've been using ADT for 18 years. I'm on the old plan and the pricing is good. I have a panic button and a fire alarm, and what I like about the system is that I could change the buttons to make it flexible. I'm very pleased with their service too. It's very fast. The alarm goes off by mistake all the time, and they call immediately. It would be nice to upgrade my system but I don’t have the fund as I’m a retired senior and I don’t want to upgrade my price though. But overall, I've had a very good experience with them.

    We've had ADT for almost 3 years (contract ending soon - thank god), and while they charge sort of the going rate for security systems we will be looking for a new vendor soon. Our house flooded in February and they had to shut off the main breaker to our house for safety reasons. Since then our security system hasn't worked, and ADT knows about it, but we're still paying for it. Customer service has called us to try and fix the problem (by setting off the alarm while our toddler sleeps) and when I asked if we could do it again at a more convenient, they said they would call us. Have yet to hear from them. Am still paying the $64 per month for a lovely little keypad in my laundry room. Their customer service sucks, and the only time they've ever called us is to tell us that our power has been out - which is great, but our nest told us the same thing, via text message.

He showed up at 18:00, dinner time. The five minutes turned into nearly 20. We were cooking dinner which we did tell him repeatedly. If I signed tonight the equipment would be free, otherwise it will be $1,800. Monitoring prices were between $35 and over $50. I told him I did not make decisions this way and did not like compliance selling tactics. He actually got offended. I showed him the door and threw away the paper he gave me. One is for our Northern Michigan property and the other is for our principal property in East Lansing.     We've had ADT for a while. They're prompt in service. The features included the life-and-death buttons you can push and the prompts. I noticed that our second panel has two different settings for the night stand. One's the instant and one's not. We're not really using the camera but we got a camera. I like the camera where you can actually dial it up on your smartphone if you want to and see what's going on in the house, turn lights on. So, it's pretty complete. We had Time Warner put in the system. There's something about our phone system they didn't do what was right. And the ADT tech corrected that. Their tech was very qualified in their knowledge.     We had ADT for a while from 2009 to about 2012. But then somebody hacked into your system and set off our alarm in the middle of the night. We cut them off and got them back last summer. They really couldn’t do anything about the hacking. ADT was quite easy to have at that time but the person who hacked us was an executive with the high tech company. He hacked our VDR, our bank accounts but he didn’t steal from us. But he would pay our mortgage two or three extra times and empty out our accounts. It was quite dreadful.

    With our current system, it works a lot better and more intuitive to use. They’re simple and worked the first time you try it. But we have to be careful before we arm the system because sometimes it will whack our sensor and set off the alarm. It’s sensitive but other than that, it’s fine. I like the ease that we have in setting the alarm and turning it off and also changing the code anytime we want. The interactions we had with their team were very positive and straightforward. Their technicians were also great. We saw him twice because something got stuck on the front door. He came and figured out what was wrong and it was quite a simple thing.

    We also had a problem last Thanksgiving where I left the turkey carcass in a lot of water to make stock and turned it on high then forgot about it and went out for some movies. ADT coordinated with our local fire department and everything went very smoothly. They made sure that they knew that we have cats in the house and our cats were fine. It was just smoke, not fire but it was very scary to come home from the movies and find three fire trucks in the street. ADT is not cheap but you get what you pay for and it’s monitored.

    I live in a tough area where I don’t have good cellular connection so my system is down right now until it gets repaired. I didn’t deal with ADT corporate but with a local company that installed it. The service people had been excellent but right from the start I told them I live in a dead zone. I don’t get cellular but they insisted the system is stronger than a cellphone. Now it’s going to require cutting into walls, going up the outside of my house where it’s not permitted since I’m in a town home community. It’s discouraging because they didn’t listen to me in the beginning. Now that the 90 days is up, I’m with ADT corporate and they are working on it because the local Protect Your Home Defenders really didn’t do me justice. I still think ADT is a great company with really nice people and customer service and I'm not going to hold my situation against them.

    I bought a house. I was told needed an alarm system for protection and insurance purposes. Went with ADT alarm system. It was good for one month. It went downhill quickly. The alarm stopped working and have yellow hazy light on it. It goes off randomly and have ADT calling me at all times. I spoke to them numerous times to fix it. They instead wanted me to upgrade and pay a fee to fix it.

    One month after getting into the contract. The alarm has been off since. It has been 1 and 1/2 year now. I called trying to cancel due to their alarm not working and was told cancel fee is about 500 plus the first time. Called back today since I am tired of paying for a service I am not getting. I was told 356.87 this time to end the contract. I am locked in a 3-year contract with over a year left. I need an alarm that works. I tried numerous to have them check the alarm. I even had someone coach me through the phone with no result. Stay away from ADT. They are horrible at everything. Learn from my mistake. I hope they go out of business for being inconsiderate thieves.

    I had been a loyal customer of ADT for 5 years when I had to cancel my service due to financial circumstances that forced me to sell my home. I had to move in with a friend so I did not have the option of transferring my service. I had already transferred my services once with ADT after my job relocated me to a different city but they made me sign a new 3 year contract even though I only had one year left on my current contract. I really wasn't happy about this but they gave me no other choice. When I called this time to cancel my services I was told I would be held to the contract and that no one in the company could do anything about it. I now owe them for one more year of service even though I have no way of using their services.

    I understand I have a contract but to be told that no one in the company could do anything about it just sounds like what their customer service associates are trained to say in a situation like mine. I contacted them again to further discuss my circumstances but no one responded. My first mistake was signing a 3 year contract. Is that common practice in this industry? I doubt it. And probably less common to make you sign a new 3 year contract when you transfer services. Never again will I do business with a company that operates in this manner.

    We had previously used ADT in FL, so when we were relocating for one year to IL we called them. It was a rental home so we acquired the most basic, cheapest method of security available. We stressed it was for one year. We told to disconnect after the year and find we had signed a 3 year contract (with the salesman pushing us to sign that day to get the best deal).

    Are we at fault for not correctly reviewing? Of course! But not one time did he tell us it was for three years! They have offered us a discount on the remaining two years - for a service we won't be using. I have emailed corporate three times, receiving a call twice, only to be told they stand by their decision. The decision to lose us as future customers is costing them $300. I can't understand why they would so willing lose us over this amount of money - we have always been good customers and prompt with payment. They basically don't care that we were misled - they actually appeared to not be all that surprised! I'm sure we're not the first people this has happened to... They are only concerned with profits, not customers!!

    I been ADT since January 2010 and every 3 years they kept renewing my contract. So this year in June I started to cancel and go with Comcast. I called ADT to cancel my service so they want me to pay $400.00 early termination fee. I told them I never signed anything and never upgraded my system and I was pay $55.00 dollars month. They didn't care. I switched anyways to Comcast and I'm only paying 19.99 per month. Way better service and Comcast home app is amazing.

    ADT has always been something that we wanted and they've been around for quite some time. We got the control box, the remote, three windows that are checked, and two monitors that come on when we go out of the house. They also put a different type of switch that would work better on a sliding door and it has worked. We had a good installer. He told us about the box and he ran us through some quick things to do to control it until we got the chance to read the directions. The system pretty much covers the whole house and so far, it's good. Additionally, if I get a month behind on my payment, ADT doesn't pound me as long as I'm making the payments. They're really good.

    I have been struggling for months to get a refund owed to me by ADT. I transferred service when I moved, yet my previous address was never cancelled and I was being charged for 8 months for 2 systems. I have called 8 times, talked to numerous agents, been told it was resolved many times and would be sent to my new address, and still have not seen the refund. I'm hoping this review finds someone in the company who is able to see my refund through.

    Additionally, the policy which requires the customer to start a new 3-year contract each time you have the system re-installed is unreasonable. This policy makes it extremely difficult for anyone having a career which requires them to move regularly to ever get out from under these contracts. This is simply a customer retention technique which needs changing.

    I have had nothing but trouble with the ADT "lifestyle module" TSSC system. In the 7 months we have had the alarm system in the house I have lost count as to the number of times we have had to call a technician out to work on it. Our home is more than 5,000 square feet. So the little beep that the system made when the "alarm" went off was so quiet we thought it was the microwave oven. We have been through at least 3 keypads because they keep triggering an alert in the system. Every tech that comes to the house always says that they hate the system because it has so many bugs, yet as it is ADT's proprietary system they are forced to push it as the best system to get, even though they know it's full of problems. Despite multiple phone calls to customer service, loyalty department and countless technical support and management agents we still have an alarm system that is unreliable.

    Prior to this experience I had a wonderful opinion of ADT. Our previous home had an old system but it worked without fail. I never had to call ADT about that system except for the day when they activated service. My most recent conversation with the sales department and loyalty department informed me my only option would be to purchase a more expensive system as they would need to change out several sensors to switch from the TSSC system to something more reliable. The representative I spoke with at the loyalty department said she would send a tech out to my house at no charge to look at my keypad. This will be the 4th time it has been replaced in 7 months of service. They know this is a defective product, yet are unwilling to do anything to address the issue. Replacing the keypad for the 4th time won't fix anything.

    My opinion of this company is forever changed. They don't care about my family, or my family's well being. They just care about money and their bottom line. When shopping for an alarm system do yourself a favor. Find a reputable local company that may actually care about you instead of a huge national brand that only considers you a number.

    I had called up regarding why my system did not stay on when the power went out. The women on the phone said they will send someone out to look at it. They did not warn of any charges and two weeks later I get an email regarding a charge to my account for 180. When I called up they refused to waive the service fees because the backup battery was supposedly bad.

    The system never warned me of a low battery otherwise I would have known. The backup battery never worked properly since I got the system. We did not have many power outages to prove it. During an outage I called ADT to try and figure out the issue. They never mentioned of any service fees or I would have declined. I would have figured out what battery I needed on my own and replace it myself if I would have known to see if that was the issue. The contract does not state the service costs and they did not mention any costs on the phone. I do not understand how a company would not warn their customers there would be a service fee. The technician said they might charge us and if they do to call up and the fees would be waived. Nope they would not waive the fees.

    I do not know any company who would come out to fix their equipment and charge a fee without warning you of the costs. From what I have learned about businesses is that a company who is going to charge you has to tell you up front. They just charge me a random amount without knowing. I have had them service things in the past and never were charged, so why now and why without warning. When my contract is up I will be switching.

    I've been with ADT for several years and the service package I have from them has the pad on the wall, a feature where doors are all checked, a motion detector and a fire detector. With the motion detector, as soon as one opens the door, the alarm will sound. And what we like about the system is that we can walk away from the house and feel that our house is secured.

    I'm satisfied with ADT's service. At the beginning when I first got the system, a couple of times, I let the alarm go off because I opened the door and the ADT team would call right away. I'd tell them everything was okay and they'd give me password and would make sure that everything was alright. Also, when the backup battery died and I needed a battery, they helped me and sent me a battery right out to me. They also told me that I can work on the battery myself and so, I did.     We decided on ADT when we moved on June 1, 2016 because of their reputation and "great deal" we were being offered. We needed to sign a 3 year agreement in order to get the offer, which we did. We have had multiple issues since the beginning, with most needing to have a service call. We soon found out that the original rate did not include a service agreement much to our surprise and added it to our plan. ADT waived the $119 charge to come out and install a battery in one of the keypads.

    We have had constant issues with our system not communicating with ADT, the latest being this morning. I'm not sure if it is due to the initial setup, the equipment, or something else, but feel stuck with this inadequate security system. They are more than willing to send out a service repairman at $25/visit. This whole system needs to be overhauled or I feel I should be allowed to cancel the agreement and find another provider.

    I have had ADT Home Security for over 10 years. I have had no false alarms or complaints for any of those years. Now, I am selling my house and moving to a new state. My annual payment ($493.49) was due in May 2017. Before my due date, I called to cancel my service. (Telephone is the only way ADT will let you cancel.) I guess it would be too simple to do it online. I was told by customer service, that everything would be taken care of, and I had a zero balance. In June, I received a "Past Due" notice because my payment was not received in May.

    I called again and ADT had no record of me cancelling my account. This time, I got a confirmation number. (Should have gotten that the first call.) Again, I was told everything was being taken care of. Now, I am getting "Past Due" notices for $88.62. I do not know where that figure came from. The left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. I closed my account before the annual payment was due. I owe ADT nothing. That is the thanks I get for over 10 years of loyalty and on time payments. I am going to turn this over to the Texas Attorney General.

    Do not buy this service if you do not plan on being a very long-term customer! Despite what everyone you speak to will tell you, you cannot cancel without a huge cancellation fee. I purchased a plan that I knew was going to be short term so the fact that representatives tell you that you are free to cancel at any time was a big selling point... until I cancelled and they charged me a $1,000 fee. When I complained about the false advertising, I was told that they only claimed I could cancel, they never claimed they wouldn't charge me $1,000 when I did cancel. The contract they give you to sign (telling you it is an agreement to pay for the initial installation) contains fine print that tells you they will charge you a fee if you cancel within three years and apparently they do not consider $1,000 to be an unreasonable cancellation fee. I will never again do business with ADT.

    A couple of people who we knew in the neighborhood had ADT and there had been a couple of house break-ins so we went with ADT, too. Their reps have been very effective. They came out and did everything. They installed the system and put the signal receptors at all the doors and windows and tested it. I've had them for more than 10 years and their service has been fine.

    Recently though, we had a little incident where our alarm was showing a little battery signal. They told us that we needed to replace the battery so we went out, bought a battery and replaced it, but it didn't cure the system. A technician came out to see what was wrong and apparently there was an in-line fuse that was giving a false reading to the system. When he told us that, we were a little shocked because I had thrown the other battery away and spent the money on this battery. The other battery was probably still good if it was a fuse in-line.

    And it was a little disappointing that they didn't respond. We went through five to seven days having the alarm go off every four hours even when we were trying to sleep. They could have come out to the house sooner or told us that it could have been an in-line fuse. When they knew that it had been days, they couldn't get out until two or three days later. Nevertheless, that experience is not going to cause us to switch services. ADT's system works as advertised and we've been happy with it. I just wished that they had done something sooner about our problem.

With ADT, I feel secure. I just go on with my life and never had to concern myself about the people breaking in. That’s the way I felt in New York and I have the same attitude down here. The system itself is very smart and simple. I like that when you're leaving, you put the alarm on, you walk out and just press one button.

    I’ve also never had a problem with their technicians in all these years. Whenever I need something done, I call and they sent somebody. They have taken good care of me that's why I'm with them this long. When we've accidentally set the system off a couple of times, they responded immediately. We've also had to shut down the system not too long ago but we have a backup battery. Other than that I’m very satisfied.

    My alarm just happened to start beeping on last night. When I went to check it I decided to call ADT and give them the code that appeared on the alarm screen. I was then informed that my services were not connected. ADT has not monitored my alarm since Dec. 22, 2015. Here it is June 28, 2017 and I have paid out of pocket a total of $521.82. I want my full refund credited back into my account. Also when I signed up with ADT they were running a $50.00 referral fee for both the signee and the person who gave the referral. Needless to say that neither one of us received anything from ADT. This should have been a red flag then. However, I continued with the service thinking that the service would be better, but to my knowledge it has only gone downhill.

    I’ve had ADT ever since I bought my home and I love it. I had to get a license for the police and the fire department to come. Just in case the alarm goes off, ADT allows me two times free and then I have to pay a bit more. It works whenever there’s anything open that shouldn’t be open, then they call me on the phone just in case something does happen. And if I pushed the wrong button, I can give them my password. When they came in for the installation, my son said they just put it in and then left. But it had the code on it that I can use in case I don’t have my key with me. My son also had to go to work so I know the installation didn’t take too long. My son’s a fireman so he also double-checked it. I like the system because I feel safe when I’m away from home. I have my two sons who come over just in case I’m out of town.

    People on the phone have been very courteous and helpful. They’re intelligent enough to know the product and they seem to know what they’re talking about when I refer to something. At one time, I wanted to update it because of new technology out there, where you don’t have to have a landline, but I haven’t even found enough information about that yet. But I’ve been here since 2006, and in the eighth year, they updated it and gave me a new box and they were very careful. I’ve also got their decals on the windows and stuff. But recently they told me that I shouldn’t put them on the window because the thieves know how to do things according to what’s out there and advertising so it doesn’t do much good. Then somebody came and took my sign so it can’t be that bad. ADT is very good and I'll always keep them. If anyone needs security in their home, ADT is the one to pick.

    The original sales person (Aaron **) made promises and sold products that do not function. I have made repeated calls to him, he will not return calls. His business card says he works for ADT. Numerous calls to ADT with promises that I would get a call back from Heidi (she is never available) which resulted in no calls back. I finally spoke to Marty a supervisor, he had to check on something, he never called back. He still won't return numerous calls. Here are the issues: 1. Sensors do off if you have pets (I was told this would not be an issue if your pets were under 60 lbs). 2. The outside camera does not work at night. 3. Doorbell video. After 4 months the video doorbell people charge for their service (it does not work without the service). I want to discontinue service due to the deceitfulness of this company and the inability of anyone to follow through with concerns.

    I ordered ADT over the phone. The salesperson was nice and appeared to be knowledgeable. I was very clear that I was shopping for the best price and the most secure alarm system. Note that I have owned several houses, so I knew exactly what I wanted. I wanted one outdoor camera, 5 contacts, 2 motion sensors and glass break. The sales person quoted me a price which I told her immediately was MUCH higher than what Guardian had quoted me. She then adjusted her quote and stated that she could provide ALL the same services as Guardian with the exception of two cameras. She could only provide one outdoor camera.

    The day of the installation the technician (who was very nice and professional) arrived with one indoor camera, 5 contacts, no glass break, and one motion sensor. After two hours of going back and forth with the VERY rude customer service agents. I was told I would have to pay $200 more than the price quoted to get the same services that Guardian was offering!

    Don't be fooled by the price match, it's a scam to get ADT in your home and you on the hook for a 3 year contract! ADT sales agents are flat out liars and their customer service agents, especially Niq, are rude and unhelpful! As of today, I have NO camera and no glass break and the only way I am getting it is if I pay them hundreds of dollars. BTW don't even dream of speaking with a manager as they flat out refuse to speak to customer no matter how many times you ask for one! Use another company.

    My brother called and told me that he was getting ADT. We live in the rural part of Western Oklahoma and he lives down the road from me. He told me that I needed to check into it as well because there have been some break-ins around our community. So, I called ADT and they sent someone out and I got it and I've had it since. The interaction with the installation team was very good. I got the general system and I've had it since. The only issue that I have is that every six months or so, the price keeps going up a little bit. Sooner or later, it would be priced where the average person won't be able to afford it.

    On the other hand, the quality of the equipment is good. I had someone working at my house about a month ago. They had left and so I locked up and secured the house and went back to my job. Then ADT called and said that someone was breaking into my home. I told them not to send the sheriff at that time because maybe the workman had come back and had turned a knob or something else. ADT was very quick to notify me at that time. I'd recommended it to all my neighbors. Their service is good and it's something that I'm going to keep right now and keep paying for.

    I changed my tv/internet/phone system about 6 months ago. Because of the new set up, my alarm control panel was no longer connected to the phone system. I never received a call from ADT about my alarm system not being connected. So, basically, if someone cut my phone line, my alarm would be disabled and ADT would never know. I finally got the phone line reconnected to the alarm panel. I switched to SafeTouch, which offered a cellphone backup, and for less than ADT was charging me. ADT told me the alarm would no longer be monitored. What they DIDN'T tell me was they sent a signal through the phone line DISABLING ALL MY ALARM ZONES! The technician from SafeTouch had to reconnect all my zones. I think ADT's actions are underhanded and despicable, and I'm glad I got rid of them.

    I have been a customer with ADT for 12 years, and I swear, I will never go to them again. I had to get a door sensor replaced and they quoted my an exorbitant $400. This is on top of the "Service Plan" that I have and paying a fees for the service every month. I got pissed off with them and opted to cancel the service. They were more than willing to let me go for a $600 penalty because according to them I was under a contract. How the hell can one be under contract for 12 years. I made a move 2 years ago, and apparently it reset the contract. According to ADT, a MOVE means a new contract. Ridiculous. Stay away from this company.

    When I moved in this house in 2009, I was shopping around for different security systems in the neighborhood and someone told me to go to ADT. I've been with them for seven years now and they've been wonderful. I got the camera system on the inside where I have one camera upstairs and one downstairs. But because the neighborhood is getting kind of screwed up I'm thinking about adding one to the outside. The installers who came out were great. When they came in, they put in a rudder to run the cameras and were professional.

    Overall, the service I got from ADT has been excellent and I never had a problem with anybody getting anything done. If something goes wrong, their reps were right on it.     For years I've had ADT in my house. It's just the basic package with the motion and fire alarms, and I feel safer with the system in my house. They've been very good too. I had a problem paying the bills. It was a little high and I told them I really couldn't afford it but I didn't wanna give it up because I liked my alarm and then they lowered it for me. If any problems arose, they’ve always been there for me. When I call them, they come pretty fast. It's usually within a day or two after, and sometimes, they even get here earlier. I don’t have any problems with them, and they just come over, do their job and go. Last time, the keypad wasn’t working properly and the alarm needed batteries. It had to be reprogrammed and they fixed it right away. They were very nice, polite and helpful. I would recommend them.

    I was having problems with my Hallway motion detector and after having to pay a $50.00 dollar fine for a false alarm it was time to call ADT. The Tech was great. My problem with ADT is the billing department. It should not take over 4 weeks for a check to clear. I gave them a check on May the 26th and today is the 23rd of June and it still has not cleared. I think that this is unacceptable. It's a big deal because I am in the process of changing banks and I can't do so until this check clears my bank. I hope that I don't have to call ADT again because it will have to be a cash payment. Never again will I pay by check. I am also getting a bill stating that I still owe for ADT coming out on the 26th of May.

    I’ve been with ADT for a long time. I’ve got an old system in my house that you wouldn’t recognize it. I called customer service ten years ago when I changed my phone number for the police department to contact. And within the past six months, I was here and all of a sudden the alarm started to go off so I called ADT's customer service to know what happened and what I have to do to fix it and it was very helpful. I have the basic features. Somebody breaks in, the alarm goes off and somebody calls the police from ADT. I have a button that if I need help, I can press to get the police and to get the fire. Also, I’d love to be able to monitor from afar, but I’m not willing to pay for it.

    The real test for ADT’s security equipment is if we ever get a break in. We’ll see how well it works, the quality of the system and the response from the people at the other end. I set the alarm from time to time when I am going to be alone but I do take off the motion alarm for where I’m going to be. One time, I completely forgot about it and went where the alarm was set for everything and then it went off. That’s what it’s supposed to do. But I don’t know how long that alarm would have to go off before somebody would call. They said they’d call us first and then call the police. I’ve never let anything go that long. I have a little dog. It bothers her ears as badly as it bothers mine. Hopefully I’ll never need to know. It’s like a homeowner’s insurance or auto insurance. You pray your house never burns down or you never have an accident. But you get it because it’s a backup. Other than the rates continually going up, I’m very happy with it.

    I’ve had ADT on and off for 15 years but I’ve had it in this house since 2007. It works flawlessly and I’ve had no problems with it. I enjoy using them. The customer service team helped me out in changing batteries and in installing and removing sensors. When I accidentally set off the alarm, they didn’t call me stupid and helped me out.     On the 31st of last month I called your service department concerning my system battery. I was getting a 'Bat' icon on my unit. The service person I talked to finally got around to telling me I needed a new battery. After determining that ADT would replace the battery I asked that she do that. She explained that the 'shipping' would take 7 to 8 days. I told her fine and to ship the battery. I got the impression she was attempting to get me to purchase the battery from a third party as she told me that I probably could get it quicker than from ADT.

    After waiting 8+ days for the battery to show up I again called your service department on or about the 8th of June. The lady said that yes the request for a replacement battery had been sent on 31 May and that she would follow up on the order. When the battery had yet to arrive by the 16th (17 days after my initial call) I again called the service department. The lady again acknowledge the request had been sent. This time though she said she would expedite the re-order at no cost to me and that I should receive the battery in two business days.

    Later that day I received an email showing the purchase order with the order number. This was the FIRST such notification that I received. I think the ball was dropped somewhere in your shipping department. At any rate I replaced the old battery some 20 days after first notifying you. I do believe that is an excessive amount of time and not up to your normal fine standards of service support.

I was very impressed with Seth as he was very patient with me and knowledgeable. He was excellent at his job because he listened to my concern and my uncertainty. I have never had an alarm before and was not totally sold on the idea. But he worked through my indecision and doubt and again was very patient with showing me how to use equipment.     The technician did an all-around outstanding job. He arrived exactly on time at the beginning of the "window" for the call. He took us through the whole house when doing his survey for the recommended protection our home needed and explained everything about the capabilities of the current security technology which would be best for our particular home configuration. He did a great job educating us on using the system and downloading and using the Pulse application for our mobile devices. Also, he performed the installation in excellent time, explaining everything he was doing, and then testing the installed equipment to be sure everything operated as required.     I'm a new home buyer and I was looking for a security system to keep my family safe. My parents had an ADT system and they never had a problem so I went with confidence. On 6-6-17 approximately 2:30 am my house was broken into, woke up to my alarm system going off. Still in a daze I go to turn the alarm off and find my door open. I did not receive a call from an ADT person nor was our local law enforcement notified. Come to find out my system got disconnected by a storm of some sort sometime in March.

    First they sent a Tech out to see when it was disconnected. He himself said he could not tell when. Now they're saying that an alert should have popped up on the website where I go to pay my bill each month. I think I would notice a big red alert sign. My wife called to get answers and they hung up on her. I cant get reimbursed or compensated for their mistake. They know I'm under contract so I cant go no where so they're sticking me. I'm trying to get this out so your family is safe and you're able to see my mistake and not make the same. DO NOT take an ADT tech, ADT provider or a ADT customer service person's word for it, do a check for yourself and make sure your system is connected correctly.

    We’ve had ADT for almost 20 years. They were in the neighborhood when we moved in and came to the door. We looked into it at that time. We have their standard package and it’s been very good. I feel comfortable that they answer so quickly if the alarm goes off. Anytime it does, they call within 45 seconds. Then one time we needed to get a new battery and somebody came out. They were very quick about it and professional. They respond to us quickly or to any number we have given them. And they check that out. If they don’t get an answer, the police always come.     Very dissatisfied with billing and service. After a year of being double-charged, I requested a refund. After sending two letters with no response, I instructed my credit-card company to stop paying. I sent another letter explaining the reasoning and requesting a response to my first two letters. No response was made, but rather a small balance, which is more than offset by what I overpaid, was sent to a collection agency, which has violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Now, I am exploring legal options and writing this review in hopes that my three letters are actually answered and avoid having to burden our courts with a low dollar dispute.

    Anytime alarm was accidentally set off, ADT was contacted by a member of this household and situation was corrected in a timely manner. We have only had two bad situations and one was caused by a birthday balloon in path of sensor. The second incident was caused by a authorized handyman who did not know the code. Other than these two alarm incidents, ADT has been great. Additional problems were our fault as we cannot always find the flashlight near the main box to turn alarm off when we re-enter our home.

    I signed up with ADT Security in 2015 because at the time I was living alone with my daughter in Dumfries, VA. We were awaiting for my significant other to return from Korea with the US Army. In 2016, we relocated to Loudoun County and the home already had an existing alarm system. I called to cancel ADT services and was told that I had another year left on my contract. I could move the services or pay $700+ as an early termination fee. I did not have that money at the time.

    Fast forward another year, my significant other and I have gotten engaged and he PCS'd to Colorado. I call back to ADT because now I know my contract is up, my fiancé and I are living together and I feel safe. I was told by the rep, Tevin, my contract is not up until 2018. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS! The sales rep NEVER explained the length of the contract. I know it is up to me as the consumer to ask and read the fine print. As a renter, I would never signed a contract for three years. When I asked to speak to a manager, Tevin, told me that she is the highest authority in ADT and she could direct me to the salesperson that I worked with. Clearly, she is not the highest authority and speaking to the salesperson will not help just an attempt to pass the buck.

    Now, I will fax my fiancé's orders to see if they will waive the cancellation fee. However, that may not work because we haven't gotten married yet. I have not used ADT since May 2016. I will communicate this to as many online communities as possible to not enroll in ADT's services until they are clear and can see the length of the contract and the cost to get out of the contract is twice as much as the service charge!

    Overly willing to report to police when false alarms are set. It started with them not calling a couple phone numbers agreed upon before calling police. Each time no one had proper numbers sometimes they would call only one. Twice my personal panic alarm went off first while cranking car in driveway. No way to undo so I wait 20 mins. for a call on our cellphones even our home phone. One hour later a call from ADT saying they would be sending police to my home at my cost of course. The next time while outside my home it was in my pocket because they are broken at top. My wife disarmed panic alarm on keypad in home right away. ADT still called cellphones, no answer then called the police who arrived 45 mins later. Going back to Monitronics OR CPI Monday morning. WE ARE PAYING CITY POLICE UP TO 200.00 NOW.
