    I was a satisfied customer however I became a very dissatisfied customer, when after being a customer of over 15 years with home security starting with Brinks. Brinks was taken over with Broaderband which was then taken over by ADT. When I called to request an updated system because of changing my internet system and it wasn't compatible with it. the customer service person wasn't very pleasant. She refused to acknowledge all the years of home security with the companies ADT took over. Instead she said I'd only been a customer of ADT for only 3 yrs and that I wasn't considered a honorary customer to be given any special promotions to help me upgrade my system. Therefore since I felt I wasn't a valued customer and canceled my subscription and purchased my home security with another company.

    My system stated that my battery was low and I couldn't understand why that was because of the connection it had to our power source. So I called customer services to inform them of this and the customer service representative informed me the problem was the battery needed replacing in one of the sensors and the exact sensor. Both told me about the process for a rebate that would come after our system was running for a couple weeks.     You were here to activate the Alarm Panel in our master bedroom. Your Tech determined that the wiring under our home had been defeated by some type of "critters". Your Tech called his Supervisor, on our request, asking if there would be a charge to repair the wiring. His Supervisor said there would be a charge.     My mother wanted an alarm system so I recommended an ESTIMATE with ADT... (my mother is 85 years old and feeble of mind) She called, they came out and INSTALLED a system (she just wanted an estimate), they took her credit card info and told her she had a week to cancel. She called me (I live on the other side of the US) and told me the terms... they were WAY too expensive and I told her to cancel. She sent in her cancellation with three days to spare and called them several times to come and uninstall the system. They came and would not do it but I was able to talk with the person and he offered me a $400.00 discount to keep the system... I TOLD HIM NO AND DISCONNECT THE SYSTEM.

    He failed to do so and instead called my mother and now offered her gift cards for keeping the system... My mother has been vehement about removing the system (called several times) and now they say she accepted and say we are responsible and that she agreed. This is the most blatant scam on old people I have seen... They purposely manipulated my mother who is not very clear mentally. She sent in her cancellation with plenty of time to spare and that should have been end of story. These people are a scam. I have blocked payment and will fight this legally if necessary... Do not use these people.

    I have detectors on my windows and doors that were already installed by my builder before I got ADT. Then I have a cell phone system that connects and notifies Dallas of a break in that system installed by ADT. Dealing with the sales representative was very good. My service has been fine and when I want to check to make sure my system is working right, I call the ADT number and say I want to do a test. I'll move to test the telephone and I get polite service.     One of the salesmen for ADT came over to my house for a contract and I ended with the normal house protection from them, glass protection and doors. They tried motion sensors and it didn't work 'cause I got a cat. There was a time when I was on a ship in the Caribbean when the motion detector was set off and ADT called me while I was in the Caribbean. I managed to secure that with no problems then we took the motion detector out and everything's been fine.

    Plus, every time I’ve set the alarm off by mistake, they were Johnny-on-the-spot. Within about the time I shut the alarm off, I had a call from ADT within 30 seconds so I was impressed with the call back times. I’ve often wondered about the batteries though. I’ve had the system for several years now and I've had no problems with any of the indicators saying that the batteries are out. Overall, ADT has been highly satisfactory with the service, good installation, and very cordial installation representative.

    I just cancelled the remaining 12 months of my contract and will get a bill for a few hundred dollars. I have not lived in the home I have paid for ADT protection in for over a year. In fact, someone else has but declined to take over the contract or use ADT service. When I initially called ADT, I was led to believe that I was simply going to take over the contract of the renters before me (my landlord also presented it this way).

    My first installation appointment, nobody showed up. The rescheduled appointment was with a third party contractor and asked me what he was installing? "Um, what, ADT did not tell you what work you were supposed to do?" He had to call the company, ask what service he was to install, and then whipped out the contract. I should never have signed a contract presented by someone who did not actually work for the company because I felt rushed and was unaware that I was signing a new contract for three years with a 75% cancellation fee.

    I think it is ridiculous for ADT to knowingly market their services to renters on yearly rent agreements and mandate three year contracts. They must make a killing off of people like myself. I did not have the money to pay it all off when I left that residence and moved out of state, and asking to speak to a manager there did not help as the advice was simply to sucker someone else into taking it over. I wouldn't do that to anyone. So up until today, I have been paying that monthly fee for someone else's home, a fee that was randomly increased a few dollars at some point. What a horrible feeling. I have, and will forever continue telling this story whenever the letters ADT come up in any conversation.

    Been an ADT customer almost ten years. Have had numerous sensor issues every summer and wanted to cancel or upgrade my alarm. I am 70% deaf and it is an unreal hassle to get through ADT automated phone system using the relay. Got through 3 times today to see about upgrading or cancelling, as soon as I say that I want to cancel just get put on hold for 20-25 minutes until I hang up and do it again. There is no way to contact them other than call. They will not let you cancel your service through your online account. This is a scam and I am filing a complaint with the BBB, do not get mixed up with this company.

    I've had ADT since January of 2010 and I have the wireless keychain remote, interior detectors and the digital keypad. I've been very satisfied with the service so far. I've called a few times when we had problems with the batteries. I had replaced them and they still wouldn't work so they had to come out and replace the unit. Two gentlemen came out pretty quickly so I'm satisfied with their response. They were very helpful, friendly and courteous. Plus, they seemed to be very thorough 'cause they were here quite a while, getting everything set up. Then one of them gave me the instruction real quick and his number to call if I have any problems. The billing is also convenient because they just deduct it every month from one of my credit cards that I gave them the number to. I only wish they call us a little bit, but other than that, I've been very happy with ADT.

    I contacted ADT about establishing security service. They wanted me to provide SS# over the phone, etc. as well as a history of everywhere I have lived. This is an unsafe practice for ANYONE to be giving this type of info for someone to come to the home to discuss security services. I think the company is shady, even asking for it up front before I have even decided if I would be using ADT for my home security. They said they needed this to pre-qualify me. How about this??? This is an initial discussion and I'm trying to pre- qualify DT!!! No sane person would provide this type of info to a company before they even decided to do business with them. ADT get real and open up to the 21st century! Identity theft is a big deal and you have telephone representatives asking for this type of info to set up an informational appointment.     We've had ADT for 15 years and our experience with them has been great. We have motion detectors and glass break sensors with our service package and everything works great. We have animals so we don't use the motion detectors but the glass break definitely works. Someone tried to break in and apparently, they hit the front door and the glass break. When ADT's people responded, they said that it was the glass break that went off. And every time we've accidentally set the alarm off, they’ve called to make sure everything is okay. We also had a hailstorm one night that was hitting the glass and they called because it hit the glass hard enough for them to think it was the glass break.

    Very good. Had ADT 4 years ago and dropped them because of wanting wireless. Went to another company (Protect America). Got what I paid for, finally got a great offer from Defenders and since I was no longer in contract with PA I decided to take another chance with ADT. Paying a little bit more with ADT per month, but got fantastic equipment and it's all wireless. All windows and door are covered, with PA they only had glass breakage sensors. Let's see how it goes with ADT and hopefully we will stay with you past the 3 year period. The installer (Steve **) very good and explaining things.     Our previous security system changed over to ADT and we've had the regular monitoring service for quite some time now. ADT has been good whenever the alarm goes off. They'd call right away and see that everything's okay. And whenever we have a problem, we have no problem calling them and saying we have some problems, and they usually work it out. However, it took a little while to get a new sign to come out when it changed over. We thought it was really important for the ADT sign to be out there. We've been very happy with ADT and we wanted the sign to say ADT, not some Joe Blow on the street that had changed over.

    I was given a lower monthly rate, by calling and asking and then I was told I had a balance because I was told it was raised again since I did not ask for a permanent lowered rate?!?! WHO CALLS AND ASKS FOR A TEMPORARY RATE CHANGE LOWER? I explained this was not what I was told. I was told then I had to pay the balance, I said that is not right! Then they told me if I did pay I would be able to get lower rate again as previously. I have had my system since 1990. Then I had talked to more than one person with this offer.

    I paid the bait and switch balance amount, and then was told I was now a new customer, had to get a new much Higher monthly rate and a 3 year contract!!! I have been on calls that were taped and had more than one person on the calls. I now am totally disgusted for these lies and dishonest treatment. Something has to be done about this kind of treatment to customers! And, then the dishonest agreements given and taken away all at my expense! Someone needs to get a grip on this. I would like everything I was promised, more than once!!! I want an authority person, to call me. Not someone who makes money on by making a new customer or laughs at your own long time customer!!

    I've had ADT for 8 years, and the service has always been great. However... I went on vacation for 2 weeks and came home to an FC or communications failure error on the keypad. The system stopped working while I was away, and I was never notified by ADT. Five phone calls later they scheduled an appointment for a service tech to come out in a few days. The very next day I received another call from ADT - to set up the service call. I guess the first appointment was never "really" scheduled, and another appointment was scheduled even further out. ADT's response on how my home could be left unprotected without my knowledge when I was out of town? "Oh well, these things happen."

    Why have a support line if no one is going to answer it?! In May I called ADT support about a system problem, I waited 18 min, nothing. Hung up it went to email, finally someone contacted me. Tried the call route again today, 30+ minutes - nothing. Very frustrating knowing that I cannot get support in reasonable fashion to manage an alarm system. Back to email, facebook, whatever ever high latency channels are left... And waiting. BTW - what's the liability when I cannot arm my system and there's a break in?

    We had a Rollin system and then ADT bought it out so it's been a few years that we’ve been with ADT. We had a fire in our house last year caused by a dehumidifier and it melted the ADT system right on the wall in the basement so we had it all replaced. The insurance company took care of everything and we have a whole new system now as of last year. We essentially have the similar kind of thing but it's difficult to get batteries replaced. It was a six-volt battery and we needed a 12-volt battery or vice versa.

    We have one pad downstairs and another one upstairs. We added another heat detector in the room that was burned. What happened was the system burned up and it didn't send a system out because it burned up before the smoke detector was alerted. We didn't realize that when we had it installed. So the smoke detector was on the other side of the basement. Now we have a heat detector and two smoke detectors down in the basement plus smoke detectors on each floor. The ADT system keeps us safe. We're very pleased with ADT and their customer service is very good.

    We’ve had ADT for 30 years now and their service has been great. They’re very competent and efficient. We have the alarm system now. We still got the old model that we had when we first put it in. Whenever we call ADT when there’s a problem, they’d send a rep or somebody out to take care of it. Their installers were fantastic as well. There were some storm damage on our door, so the door had to be replaced. We were told to get the other door first, but we already have that. The installers came right out after we called. They put the alarm from the damaged door to the new door that was put in. They didn’t take long to do it.

    BEWARE! They require a 30-day notice of cancellation which I only learned when we tried to cancel. Also if the new tenants/owners take over the system during your 30-day cancellation period they get paid from both the new tenants/owners and you even though there is service overlap!

    I have ADT for five years now and they've always been on the ball. I have the motion sensor, on door and window alarms, plus a wireless connection so there wasn't anything wired to the panel that they set up. The kid who installed the system was real good and I've had the monitoring people call me a couple of times when the alarm went off by mistake. They called almost within seconds of the time it went off. I’d tell my friends to look at ADT's system and that I'm pleased with mine but I wouldn't tell them they had to do it.

    Our granddaughter from Florida would come over and visit her mom for the summer. We would take her back and we didn’t feel real comfortable with leaving the house unprotected. That’s the reason we first got ADT and we’ve had it for 10 years now. The guy that originally came out explained it all and was very clear. If I have any issues, I just call and then somebody walks me through it.

    After I've had ADT a couple of years, they came out with the satellite and I wanted that originally. However, they came out and checked it but our location is really iffy with the satellite so ours is connected to a landline. I was also iffy with their services several years ago, but they’ve upgraded and I’m very happy with them now. Earlier this year, they also figured a lot of the unit was not going to work again, and they just replaced the whole unit so that went real simple for me.

    We’ve been real fortunate we haven't actually had it ever go off to anything other than our forgetting to turn if off when we come in the door. It’s real nice when they got a hold of me, I apologized and they said it's okay. The people who answered the phone have been very helpful and knowledgeable as well. It's been great overall and I have recommended ADT to friends.

    My mother had ADT. When she moved with me and we got robbed while she lived here, we had one installed at our house. The installation team was great. We have one motion detector and we have a keypad in my bedroom and one in the utility room. They also wired one of our front windows. The service has been great so far and the alarm has never gone off other than me making a mistake and opening the door or my daughter walking in and forgetting the code and couldn't get it in. They told her they had to call the police and they did. We were in Church and I didn't hear my phone ring. When I got out, I called her and she said that the police were coming and that she was going to be arrested. I called and the man said, "We'll try to cancel it," and they did.

    Our battery went out and even though it was in the manual, we couldn't quite do it. They sent us a new battery and they walked us right through putting it in. It has been working fine since then. When I get too old and I can't get to the door fast enough, I'll have to have a keypad put in right by the front door. But, right now, it's fine the way it is.

    When the sale Rep came to my house, he told me They would be able is use my alarm system that was already in place - that was is working order. I was changing company. I was told I would be getting the Pulse system for 42.99 monthly. What was installed was a old looking panel. They could not use my old system. Was told I would have to pay 200 for new system. None of my windows or garage door are working. My front door is the only one working. Was also told I have the basic service - with a monthly bill of 42.99. I have made calls to ADT customer service and my sale Rep with no answer to resolve this problem. They were not helpful at all. At this point I will cancel this service. They install on Saturday - Mailed in cancel notice on Monday.

    I moved to Oregon from Texas in March 2017. I had ADT install a home security system in my home. The installation was not free and cost 4 payments of $452.00. They have never billed me for this nor has anyone sent me a receipt. Their installers DEMANDED a credit card number so that my account could be accessed by them for the payments.

    Since I had moved from out of state, my account was still in my Texas Bank. When all of the automatic deposits were working for my new bank, I closed my Texas Accounts. I called ADT Help Desk and told the guy helping me of this and asked to be billed for my payments, he said "sure, no problems." He also told me that I did not owe them anything at that time. Within a week I received a letter from ADT, ADT Letter head, but at the bottom there is an address for Defenders, Inc. The wrong address too by the way.

    The letter demanded payment Now. I called the number and told them what had happened again, different help desk it turns out. The guy helping me said I had two options, I could give them a credit card number now or I could give them my account number and my bank routing information so they could access my account. I was gobsmacked, I told them "not in this life time sucker." I told them I would set up a bill payer payment from the bank to pay it off in full. The help desk tech refused. I hung up.

    I called the ADT help desk, I was informed they contract out installation to a third party, the very first I had heard of this. ADT did file a complaint against Defenders, fat lot of good that did. They gave me the correct address for Defenders, Inc. I set up a Bill Payer Check to pay off the bill that same day. It was taken from my account two days later. I am then paid off in full. I have no receipts from them, no acknowledgement, nothing. A week and half later they turned me over to a collection agency. Since I am in the midst of getting a mortgage for a new house they have damaged my credit, which was very good, and added points to my mortgage rate. I am seeking legal advice for seeking damages from them. I have all of my bank statements showing the withdrawals from my accounts and from whom. I owe them nothing.

    I got the service package with a keypad and two key fobs from ADT. However, one of the key fobs was broken and we had some difficulty with it. Also, their service was down a while back. A serviceman came and fixed the batteries. I asked him if he could fix the key fob and he said he couldn't. Instead, he gave me a new one and told me to use that. Also, we call ADT up when we're going on vacation. We tell them where we are going, how long we are going to be gone and when we are leaving. Overall, we're very satisfied with ADT and we'll keep using them. Their system is reliable and is performing well.

    I had Brinks before they became Broadview and now they’re ADT, and I've had them for a number of years. The sales rep was very helpful in setting up the system and telling me the finer points of what can and can't be done. My service package includes the break-in, motion, fire, and smoke. ADT followed right on the line with what was originally set up and the cost and had no changes in procedures. I've had no price increases and I get a discount as well for paying annually versus monthly, and I really liked that. I now have officially an older system since I had it put in about 10 years ago and they don't pressure me into a replacement, which could cost me. They come out and maintain if needed.

    When the installers came out, they retrofitted the house for me, did all the necessary wiring because it's an older house, and set up the system. The techs have to come out to the house which is very seldom and they've been very good, professional, know the system, and try to work with us as far as doing whatever the case may be. They try to make sure that the system is working correctly and find whatever is wrong. We had a bad power outage when we had a tropical storm come through and the system had to be rebooted and the actual backup battery had to be changed out. Also, I had trouble trying to change the clock when we went from Daylight Savings Time back and forth, and they got that rectified so it's automatic now.

    Everything else has been copacetic with the whole system and their customer service people who are on 24 hours a day. They've been very responsive and very quick on the phone when I call in. It is nice to know that if there's an issue, they're on it. When we had the alarm go off unexpectedly a month ago or so, they called and helped me locate. They stayed on the phone with me until we got it rectified and made sure that I wasn't in trouble or somebody else is in the house. So, I really liked them and I can't imagine having anybody else. I feel a lot more secure than when I had no system before and I felt 100% better being at home when I am by myself or even when the family is there late at night.

    About two weeks ago, I accidentally hit my burglar alarm on my remote and immediately disarmed it. Since I was leaving when I accidentally hit the wrong button, I armed it back. I received a call from ADT asking for my pin. I could not remember my pin for anything! I gave the lady my social security number, my birth year and my pin for my alarm keypad. She then said OK and I said okay, I want to ensure that nobody will be dispatched to my home because I am leaving to work and do not want to be charged. She said that will not dispatch the police. So a few minutes later the police showed up at my home. Then I just received an invoice for $120 from the false alarm company! When I spoke with ADT a week ago regarding something else, I told the lady about the incident and she said that she would've asked for another identifying information as everyone doesn't always remember their pin.

    So come today, I call and speak with three extremely rude individuals. I work in customer service and would never treat customers the way they treated me. I have been with them for over 3 years and have never called in for anything! They wouldn't help with the fee or even write a note in their system so when the false alarm company looked up the call, it would state that this was an accidental false alarm so they would waive it for me. I will NEVER use ADT again. I work for one of the largest student housing companies and will make sure that all of our residents never use ADT to alarm their apartment homes.

    Word of mouth is huge! You make millions of dollars as a company and worry about $120! That is ridiculous! We waive fees and credit our residents' accounts all the time because that is what you do in customer service. I am appalled and will be cancelling my contract and will be sure to let everyone know to stay away from ADT. I will be sure to write this review on every website and social media site that I can.

    I had the system installed on 6-4-17. I was to get a $200.00 Visa gift card. I was told it would take at least 2 bill cycles. I called yesterday 7-27-17 about my rebate. I was told by Rodney at customer billing that I should have received an e-mail that was sent on 6-8-17. I told him I had not received an e-mail. He told me to check my e-mail & my spam for that e-mail in reference to my Visa card & call back. I told him I had no reason to call back since I know how to check my e-mail or spam. He started getting an attitude with me so I told him I wanted to speak to a supervisor. He told me there was not one available. He kept talking to me saying I was not listening to him & to recheck my email. I have been in customer service for over 35 years & know I could not believe he was talking down to me in that manner.

    I told him to put me back in queue that I would no longer waste my time with him. I was then connected with Clarice. She sent me the rebate form last night. This morning when I was going to fill out the form I spoke to Quanisha at Safe St. USA & I asked her about the form I received that said it was a $100.00 Visa. She said that it was a standard form but it was noted on my account that it would be $200.00. I questioned her about the form stating I had 30 days from installation to request it. I told her I hadn't received the form till last night when Clarice sent it to me. She told me my time had expired for by Visa card.

    She said my account was noted by Rodney a "supervisor" about my conversation. I told her, "Rodney was a supervisor?" because he was customer service person. She said no he is a supervisor. I asked for a manager & she told me Rodney was the only supervisor I could speak to. I asked for a regional manager & she said there was none. I sincerely regret changing companies. This company doesn't deserve one star. I am very dissatisfied & would never recommend them to anybody.

He was immediately aware of the offer I had received in the mail, and was knowledgeable about products, packages, and listened to my needs. He was also aware that I had been a previous customer and thanked me for my previous business. I found the entire phone experience to be refreshing especially because receiving this kind of exceptional customer service treatment to be rare with other companies. The installer arrived as promised. He attempted to install a cell service alarm system.     Have had a Brink's security system in our home for more than 15 years, this is now monitored by ADT. Called to get an estimate to overhaul system and move to modern tech and cameras. Was told by ADT that they will not touch the system (the system we pay $35 a month for and have done so for 25 years), will not upgrade, will not help me, and I can take my business to someone else. They said they will not touch hardwired systems. So, then, how does a customer change the system out? According to ADT, not their problem. Will look into using another company, perhaps Comcast. Never heard of a company turning away business, but I guess they will eventually go the way of Brink's.

    I have ADT's whole service package. I have the 24-hour monitoring, motion detector, door sensors, broken glass sensors and the smoke alarm. The sales rep I've talked to was great, very prompt and very professional. Also, when I called their 800 number, I got a person right away and they're very responsive. I don’t get a whole long voicemail entry to go through. Every time I've ever called them about anything, the person I get is able to resolve my issue right then and there, without sending anybody else. That’s really a valuable customer service characteristic because we all get so frustrated with companies when you call and you have to press the numbers for options. Then you're on hold and then they transfer you to different people. I'm very satisfied with their service and my experience with them couldn't be better.

    The ADT rep I spoke with on the phone was terrific. She told me completely everything I needed to know and it was a good conversation. The installer was great too. He was very hardworking and was there until late in the evening to make sure that everything was set up and running right. I appreciated that very much. I got sensors for windows and doors, as well as motion detectors and a smoke detector, so that if I'm not around, the fire department's notified. I'm very happy with the services.

    When I had to have a door replaced because I had an attempted break in, I took off the sensor on the door but missed the little magnetic piece, and so the door wasn't secure. But the installer had left me his phone number and I called him. He was getting ready for a trip, but he came out and made a special trip to replace that just so that door would be secure for me. That's pretty good to me that he would take that time. Also, I had one little issue and when I called him, and he walked me through it. He's very responsive. I never had to wait and he never made me feel like I was imposing. He's really good.

    We had a break-in and when we went to look, the USAA had a program with ADT so we went through. We have ADT Pulse and we have our panels and a fob.     When I signed a 3 year contract with ADT I was assured the monthly cost of my alarm system would never rise during those 3 years. It has since gone up once and now a second hike is in the works. I consider that a clear breach of contract and will therefore terminate my business with ADT on the very day my contract expires this October. I will sign up with the competition and tell everyone I know not to do business with ADT.

    ADT gave me "peace of mind" by falsely billing me $1077.64. I called them 4 times and explained their error to them before they billed my credit card and on the 3rd and 4th call they agreed that the bill was a mistake and I would not be charged but then 10 days later they charged my card for that amount anyway.     In the recent years we hardly ever turn our ADT system on. We have pets so sometimes we don't want to set the interior motion sensors because they'll set it off. But we had a friend stay who accidentally hit the panic button while we were gone. Fortunately I remembered our code words and everything was handled the way it should. So even after not doing much with the system it still worked. Also the system doesn't go off unexpectedly so we haven't had any false alarm. So as a service I have been very happy with ADT. We've also got their smoke detector and it's fine and there wouldn't be any reason why I wouldn't recommend them.

    So I got a new home, and because my wife died a year ago, I decided to use ADT. I thought I would use them for simplicity. They will charge you for every little thing, and then question you on the smallest details. I would recommend waiting till a month after you buy a house. At least five companies will call you with a better deal from ADT. Do your homework. There are a lot of other companies that will do the minimum that ADT will and half the cost. $14.95 a month. Plus you are not locked into a three year suck fest of poor service.

    I went the easy route, because as a single parent I did not want to do my homework. Please don't do the same. ADT, is a racket, and if you rush into it, you will miss extra sensors, that you will mortgage your kids future on, and get very little in return. Look at other online companies that are far more willing to assist, not lock you into never ending contracts, and provide the coverage you need. ADT, was a compromise, waiting to happen.

    ADT charged my account three times and only gave back two payments. On top of that I wanted to cancel my service and they were trying to charge me a fee to remove the unit from my wall. I have been treated horribly and been getting the runaround for this service. No one has been helpful and I have been thinking I was getting two months free and I had no monitoring all along.     My hubby and I recently purchased a home. Mike ** with Protection 1 for ADT came to my home and treated me as if I was his own family.     I have the fire and emergency alarm from ADT. Whenever I've let the alarm go off, their team has always called right away and checked on me very quickly. Once when I was out, someone tried to get in and the alarm scared them off.     We've been using ADT for 8 to 10 years now and we are very pleased with the way that ADT team provided service. All the staff members that we have talked to have been kind and courteous. We get emails from them as far as updates and they keep us posted on things that are happening.     I was a customer of this business for nearly 20 years (with companies they bought and with the current company). After growing very tired of their relentless sales pitches I called to cancel my service on 6/10/17 and was told the service was cancelled. On 6/20 was charged for another month however and when I called them about the charge I was told that a 30-day notice was required and that my cancellation would not go into effect until 6/20. Okay, not happy but dealt with that. On 7/20 the dishonest crooks charged my credit card again. When I called them about it I was told the cancellation on 6/20 never went through. Unbelievable. In the meantime this company has called me 12-15 times wanting me to remain a customer. I will never go back to these sorry people.

    The first contact I had from ADT was with the manager, when I called to get general information regarding home security. Unfortunately, I do not remember his name even though he did tell it to me. This gentleman was very patient in answering all of my questions and spent 1'30'' with me. Because of him I decided to have a someone from ADT come to my house. I misunderstood what was going to happen. Andrew ** came to my house to review my contract and install the equipment. I thought I was going to compare the ADT product with another company, and he would tell me exactly what I needed once he saw my house.

    I explained this to Andrew and he very patiently and calmly said that was o.k. and he review my contract and did a walk through with me. I expressed my concern about monitored cameras and he went so far as to show me online what I could purchase to satisfy my security needs regarding cameras.     Someone else on the block had an ADT sign up. So, when I moved in, I also got an ADT and the installation team has been great. I never had any problems. So, that was good because that instilled confidence in me when I was getting the installation. I've had the system for 11 years now and I love it. I've had a couple of false alarms, where I did something that triggered the alarm. And with that, I know the system works. Then once, there was something wrong with one of the sensors. But everything got taken care of immediately and it didn't get me fined.

    Also, everybody from ADT has been very nice and every couple of years my sign cracks in half and deteriorates, but ADT sends me out some more. So, I throw the old one away and stick the new one in in the front. I have stickers on all my doors too and they seem to be working. I haven't had any strangers trying to break in. It was an excellent experience with ADT and I’m sticking with it. I have recommended it to friends as well.

    I’m very satisfied with ADT and haven't changed it in 12 years. We have standard security for when our window or door opens. It was already put in the house when we bought it and somebody was out here and walked us through it. ADT has been helpful when we've had issues. We've had maintenance on it at least once.     We've been with ADT for five years and they're very responsive. Every time we've had a problem, they've sent techs to come and they were very knowledgeable. They're able to resolve the problem and they do it very quickly. They always have come the very next day and we've never had to wait longer than that. My husband has Alzheimer's so sometimes I had problems and I had to talk with them about what things that I could do to protect myself and they've always been very good about helping me out. They stay on the phone until I'm comfortable and I know what to do. I'm pretty independent and I try to learn. They gave me good tips and showed me things that I could fix for myself or what I should watch for so I really like them a lot.

    We had one other company when we lived in New Hampshire and then in Massachusetts. They were good but ADT was really a higher-end company. We can get so much more with them than with other companies. For example, we had cameras put in because we felt somebody was coming into our home and that was very helpful. As far as the services that they offer, we can monitor our home from anywhere we live. But we just wanted a basic system and that's what we have. We have one smoke detector that's wired and the person that came suggested that we do one in our bedroom which was a very good idea so we took care of that.

    And then the last times we've had people come, it's been the same technician because we found out that they have routes and certain areas. He said, "If ever you need something or you want to ask for me, here's my card." He's been here three times now and was like a family member. Then we were having trouble with the sensor and he came and he didn't have a lot of customers to take care of. He started looking around. He went to every single window and fixed all of the sensors. He made sure they were all going to work, and the doors too. He even nailed the sensor to the door for me as my husband can't do any of that anymore. It was so nice and I thought that's going beyond the call of duty. He had the time and I didn't ask him to do anything.

    There was one window that didn't even have a sensor and I never noticed that because I just assumed they all had it. It's a small window and maybe they thought nobody would climb in. He put a sensor there and fixed it all up for us. We felt so safe and we're so happy with that. Then I found that everyone that's come here has taken an interest in us and in our home. We're seniors and they watch over us. We appreciate that because we don't have any family nearby and we don't really ask them for much. We've really enjoyed them.

    We purchased a service package from ADT which included a yard sign, window decals, and interior motion detector. Whenever we forget the motion sensor or if I have my mom visiting and she forgets the motion detector and just turns on the alarm the ADT representatives will try and reach us in the home phone or on my cellphone. They are very prompt and we know they are monitoring.

    One point of concern is that we've been thinking of having surveillance system outside the front door. We would like it through ADT because that's our security system but that was a tad expensive for us so we haven't been able to get to it. If you go to Sam's Club you will be able to get the entire system with four cameras for just about $100. But overall I'm very satisfied and happy with ADT's service.

    I have had ADT installed in my home since January 2013. Three days ago, July 17, 2017, I started getting a low battery alarm on their system. The alarm goes off and then ADT automated phone call comes telling me the battery is low. Unfortunately the actual box was put into the attic of my home and not easily accessible for a handicapped single elderly female to get to. I pushed the button to speak with a representative as directed by the automated phone call. The person on the line told me a service technician would call and arrange to come out the next day. She also told me how to stop the alarm from sounding on my system, but the fix was only temporary. It went off every few hours and you had to get out of bed to turn the darn thing off and then the automated phone call followed.

    I again pushed the button from this automated call to ask the representative to stop the phone calls and to shut down the system until I could get a call from the service tech to get this fixed. She suspended the phone calls and put my system in test mode. Which did not stop the alarm from continuing to go off on a regular basis. The next day I forwarded my phone to my cell and waited for the service department to call so I could get this fixed and back to a good night's sleep. No call came. I finally called ADT at night, right after the alarm went off to find out when someone was going to come out. No one was ever going to call me. I spoke with the service department and they had no information and so I made the appointment to get this fixed. The soonest they could get someone out to my house was August 7th.

    So for three weeks I would have no security services and I would have to listen to the alarm continually going off around the clock. That is the best they could do for a customer that they had for over four years. So first thing in the morning I hired another security company and I called and told ADT that I was cancelling my service. She said a thirty day notice was required and that I would be charged this at cancellation. I told her to send me to billing. I explained that I shouldn't be charged for thirty days because their system doesn't work and wouldn't be able to start working until after August 7th. Then this person said, "I can get a tech out to you tomorrow morning and your system would be working so now you are paying for a thirty day cancellation fee." This is, I believe an outright lie.

    Run from this company. They are great when they want to sign you up for service and they may do a great monitoring job while their system is functioning, but so do a lot of companies. This company gives you the run around and could care less about you if they actually have to do anything to fix something after the initial install. I believe the quality of a company doesn't just happen when they want your business, but when they show the same commitment through the years. This company fails big time in that department. So I hired another company and they will be installing a new security system on the 25th of this month, so I only have to listen to my ADT system going off every few hours for less than one week rather than another three weeks.

    I have been a customer of ADT for about three years now and have had little reason to need any service until the last few months. The alarm system is at a house I own in another state and the alarm system is a good way to control the actions around my home when I am not there. A few months ago I got a signal stating that the master bedroom door alarm was not working or low battery. I was out of the country at the time and called to have a repair person go and fix the alarm. They did and I was able to give them the code to the front door so they could go in and fix the alarm. They did and now only a month later the same door alarm is not working. I called today and they said they would have someone call me back to make an appointment, I waited all day and no call.

    I called again only to be told oops. Then they said they could have someone there in the afternoon would that be okay. I said, "Yes anytime is good. Just have them call me so I can let them in." "No you have to be there in person" the person said and I said, "Did you not hear me when I said I am not in Oregon today or tomorrow and I just want to let them in to fix the same problem again." "No we could not do that" the person said. I asked for the person in charge and I got even a bigger No, from that person. I asked, "Why were you able to do it for me last month and not this month? Also why is it not working again?"

    The system is not working for me and I would like to say they are all not very helpful in any way to me as a customer and as soon as I can get to my house I am going to replace them with another company just out of pure anger on my part. One of the wise companies I have ever talked to on the phone, they were not thoughtful or in the least bit understanding of my problem. Please be careful of doing business with these people.

    In my previous home, I originally used an alarm service under the name of Complete Protection. They went out of business and then ADT eventually took over the account. I have the pulse system which was upgraded this year. Ring.com was also added and there's the connection to the police and fire department. I’ve also got remote viewing, so I turn lights and features of that sort off and on. My husband is technologically savvy and he wanted those features. It’s also always a good thing to have it in these crazy times. I haven't had any incidents but it gives me a sense of security.

    However, we had one quirk in the upgrade. We had a portion connected to a room switch and when we turned it off and on, it would deactivate the system. It took about five visits but they took care of it promptly. And once they finally identified the problem, it’s been working like a charm. I have been a customer forever, close to 30 years. ADT is professional, reliable and prompt, and I have recommended them.

    We started out with complete protection 30 years ago. And 10 years ago, they bought somebody and we ended up with ADT. We're completely happy with ours. We had a friend who was an FBI agent and they took his door out when they broke into his house. So, we wanted something that if somebody got into the house, it would be covered. We have passive infrared in our house and the glass sliding doors which is an older system so it's all wired. The customer service was very good when we had a problem recently. It wasn't sending back to their central office. We found out that we had bad telephone lines but they fixed it. They were here for three hours figuring it out but they did a good job. I was happy with them. I was very satisfied. ADT is a great company to work with. I have not had any bad experiences with them. But then, I haven't had the need for any calls other than that one time.

    I setup an appointment thru the internet live chat for my in-home quote on July 13, 2017 the chat specialist was extremely helpful getting my appointment setup. I received a call on July 12, 2017 from a ADT representative (G. **- Augusta, GA) asking what type of services and equipment that I was looking to purchase; I explained to the lady that I was in a contract with another company that is due to expire in 60 days and that I was looking to restore my previous account before with ADT that I had before moving to Georgia. Instead of keeping my appointment for my free in-home quote (as advertised on the website) and to help me decide what equipment would be best to keep my home and family protected, Mrs. ** told me that since I wouldn't be purchasing anything when she came out I needed to call back once my contract was finished with Comcast.

    So I guess my free quote was the phone call; the money wasn't the issue. I needed to know how to protect my house.     I had an installation from an authorized representative of ADT. The sales representative failed to turn in my contract resulting in harassing, annoying collection phone calls from ADT during the first 60 days of my home installation. I called ADT who indicated that I should call "their authorized representative dealer" to resolve my issue!! I balked at doing leg work for an issue that was caused by nothing I did nor bore responsibility for. I eventually contacted their authorized "premier" service provider only to discover that the sales representative who came to my home failed to turn in my service contract; therefore, no signed contract existed - except for the customer copy I received at time of alarm installation.

    What happened to my contract? Why didn't the agent sales rep turn in my paper work? Why did I receive collection calls thru no fault of my own? WHY DOES IT TAKE 60 DAYS for contract information to be linked to customer accounts in order to be charged the correct billing rate? What kind of company is this? #ADT now in the top 2 rating for the worst service provider in America.

    We have had ADT security system for years (we started with Brinks which became ADT) and have had continuous service. If our alarm went off by chance/mistake ADT calls us immediately if there is a problem. Even switching out an old battery for the system was easily done. It would be nice if we could get a new ADT window sign/ground sign if possible since we still have Brinks signs.

    I got some information about ADT from USAA, my insurance company. They may have had some sort of connection. I had all the windows wired and got the intrusion detection and the pads on the front door and garage door. There's also a motion sensor in the house. The sales reps were courteous. I dealt with them for the initial installation, then I called them about the warning I got on the battery going dead and they told me what to do to fix that.

    Everything went fine as well with the installation team. My wife was here when they came in and they went through all the information on how to use the pads and other equipment. I'm fully satisfied with the service and I would suggest to a friend that they look into ADT for their security needs. I don't have to worry about the security system, and that's exactly what I'm looking for. On the whole, I'm fully confident with their service.
