Despite paying for ADT fire and security alarm/monitoring for nearly two years, when we HAD a FIRE, the ADT smoke alarm NEVER went off (although it was only 5 ft away from the basic smoke alarm that did)! Thank goodness my family was home when the fire started and our cheap battery-powered alarms alerted us to the fire and we could call 911 in time. Besides this fundamental FAILURE of ADT's fire system to protect my family and home, we experienced HORRENDOUS customer service after this event.
My husband and I were insulted, patronized, aggravated, and disrespected on several occasions by the customer "advocate" assigned to us. The company shirked all responsibility and made us feel like this was our fault! Moreover, our requests to speak to the advocate's supervisors to lodge a formal complaint and terminate our service were ignored. Adding more insult to injury, we were still being charged when ADT and we knew that their fire alarm system was not working.

I used to be a Broadview Security customer and when ADT bought them out, I became an ADT customer. A couple of years ago, when I went to have my cameras installed, there was a problem, but that was worked out. Right now, I have cameras, yard signs and the digital pad. But when I first moved here, I would not have used ADT because the people I talked to were not nice and their monthly rate is too high. I called several times and asked if it could be lowered and they said no.

When we changed our TV service, ADT got disconnected and we were not aware of it. The lights would work right on the little box and it would say the front door is open. It does all of those things that I would expect but we were not connected to the central office that would trigger anything if somebody tried to get in. When we set the alarm, it would still beep as usual. It was out for many months and we were not aware but we paid the bill every month. There should be some way that would trigger and say we're not connected anymore. But except for that one experience, we're very satisfied with ADT. The security system does what we want it to do and the people that came out and worked here were fine. We’ve had a couple of things and ADT gave us advice, told us what to do or sent somebody out. They were very helpful.

I came to ADT home security because the "name" even if they have the highest monthly charges compared with other competitors. They advertised as $27.99/mo. The guy came in just cut off my existing system (H&H), to check the signal. Everything was fine so far. After that, I was asked to sit with him to discuss the "package ". I was told that I need to pay additional $7,000 dollars after the credit discounts. Obvious, I can't accept it. Then he offered the alternative option to pay $47.99/mo. I declined as well. The installation terminated. He took off ADT pad. And I asked to re-hook the wires to my existing system. The guy just went out and left my home without security system. This is a nightmare experience that I never had before. What a terrible customer service! If there is an option to rate as zero star, I would do this.

We had a service technician come to our house today because half the time we can't use the Pulse app because of "network" issues. The technician replaced something that pertains to the radio, it worked while he was at the house but now it is not working at all. It is frustrating. We pay money to have a security system that doesn't work at all now. ADT expects my husband and I to inconvenience our employers by missing work so they can come back out. Not happening they can be inconvenienced on Saturday around our schedule. For our inconvenience we were given a month credit. I told the supervisor I spoke with if our house is broken into they will get the bill since our security system isn't working. I cannot wait for our contract to end because I will stay with them. My confidence in ADT has been lost. Thanks ADT.

ADT made an unauthorized charge on my MasterCard. Unfortunately, when initiating service for installation, customers are required to give a valid credit card number. I gave my credit card number which was obviously stored in their system and was charged when my monthly monitoring service bill amount was in dispute. I have already disputed this charge via MasterCard; however, this post serves to warn others about ADT practices. ADT/Defenders (authorized ADT representative) did not coordinate with each other resulting in inaccurate monthly billing. Subsequently, I discovered I was paying my bill and ADT was simultaneously charging my MasterCard. Worst service provider in America. Lawsuit forthcoming as I can substantiate everything that I have written in this post.

We had the ADT security service 30 years ago when we lived in another place and we got it again. Our experience with ADT has been fine and I haven't had any problems with the equipment and service.

We did the upgrade with ADT so we could have the camera hooked to it. I was kind of already sold on it when I called a sales rep, so I scheduled the installation. The one guy that came out to install everything was very professional and knowledgeable. Everything has been going well and we’ve been very happy with the service so far. The ADT people are easy to work with.

I am unhappy about the monthly price increase. We called ADT in the past when they wanted to increase the monthly price and told them of what other companies were charging. They seem to be very grudgingly willing to talk about the price and reduced it. We thought that was a permanent price then it increased again from 16 or 17 to 22. It’s nice to have the service, but there are other companies that do it for much less than that here in Atlanta. I don't think the services are worth $22 and I don't see why we should pay more. I don't think ADT is very competitive.

ADT's service has been good. We reached out to their representatives only when we needed help and they've been able to take care of the issues we've had. The technicians had been great, too. They've always been on time and professional. Everything has gone smoothly.

I’ve been with ADT for a while now and I’m very satisfied. They’ve been good people to work with. I used to work on a little bit of alarm system myself so when something goes wrong, I get on the computer and we would fix it right there.

They came out to install but couldn't because lack of internet signal. Never heard back on any solutions nor when I would receive a return of my payment. Failure to provide not only an alarm system but then to not even have the common decency to contact me is unacceptable.

I don't know where to begin. My daughter in Murfreesboro, TN needed to upgrade the security system in her home. When she moved in, the security company told her that it was not possible to install an alarm horn or outdoor cameras. The eaves of her house are very high and the attic did not permit ready access to placement positions. Robert ** from ADT Security Services in Nashville worked for 6 hours one day and recruited Perry ** to help. Both of these installation technicians returned and worked another 6 hours!!! They came up with an solution that really demonstrated their skill, product knowledge, determination to deliver excellent service. These men accomplished what others had failed. They were friendly and maintained their sense of humor when I accidentally unplugged the camera while they were downloading its online installation. Thanks guys!!! You are wonderful!

I've had ADT for about 10 years. I got the yard signs, motion detectors in the house and keypads at three locations. It was one person who did the installation. We’re hardwired all through the attic and down on the walls. It’s quite a job but he did a really good job. I’ve got a lot of screens on the windows so he had to run wires to all the windows in the house as was the doors and the overhead garage doors. Then, I had him come back and install the monitor of the fire detectors. I had him come back again and do the wireless system in.
I’ve got nothing but good memories with ADT. It couldn't be better. I set my alarm off by accident in the morning quite often and right away, I get a call. It was set off twice in the middle of the night and not by me. I didn’t turn the alarm off and a live person called. I told him to call the police because I didn’t know what was happening. I couldn’t be happier. I’ve had other alarm companies come by wanting me to take a business with them but there’s no way I would change. I absolutely recommend ADT.

I tried telling an ADT rep that I was having problems with the door closing but she started to be a little bit inconsiderate, let me know the alarm had gone off and that I was subject to charge by the fact that the police have to come out to the phone. It was quite irritating as she wouldn't understand or hear my side of the story. At one point, I was at the brink of getting another company because I was so disturbed by that person who received my call. But I called another time and got another person. Then they sent the technician out who was very nice and made up for all of the ills. He took care of the problem and I haven't had it since. So far, ADT gets the job done and my home is secured and that's enough.

ADT's system was installed in a museum where I worked. I also got the system in my home but I feel that information about the extended warranty thing was misrepresented to me. But any technician I've had has always been fine and my service has been generally good.

Just letting the public know that these people WILL and DO call EVERYONE you know WITHOUT authorization if you are late on your bill and disclose all of your personal info!!! I had been with them for 9 years and I am am going thru a divorce and my (husband) closed our checking account in which our bill was being drafted and I JUST opened another account, spoke to a girl last Friday telling her that I was not home because I was staying with someone because I just had surgery. I TOLD her SPECIFICALLY that I would call her back THIS Friday to give her the info and SHE told me that I would get a $25.00 credit for setting it up on draft again and that my total owed was $67.00 or some change! Well, I JUST received a text from my daughter's EX husband asking to contact me because this company had been calling him EVERY SINGLE day telling him that my account was past due!!!
First of all, I NEVER gave them his phone number which has been changed since their separation, which I DO NOT even KNOW! AFTER I EXPLICITLY told them I'd call FRIDAY!!! Second, I NEVER gave THEM permission to contact him nor did I give them HIS number! How in the HELL did they know who they were calling and giving out MY info?! For $67.00??? I know that I am putting my business on FB, BUT!!! Can you believe the gall of these damn people?! SO! CUSTOMERS, BEWARE! I don't know how they got this info or who gave them permission to call whomever, but... heads up...they are vicious and UNPROFESSIONAL!!! I AM REPORTING THEM to the BBB!!!

Customer service for ADT has to be the worst that I have ever experienced! They neglected to take down proper information when making an appointment. I asked to have the technician call on my cell to let me know that he was coming so that I could be home. He called my home number because that is what the representative wrote on the order. Needless to say, I missed my appointment. Also, when I called, the representative pulled up the wrong account because she put the wrong number in to look for my account. Makes me wonder how well our home is being monitored!
My next appointment was between the hours of 8 am-9 am. Again, after speaking to a manager to make sure that they had my cell, he called on the home line. He also showed up at 9:45 am. So much for having an appointment between 8-9. I called ADT corporate to express my frustrations and got excuse after excuse for these actions! Poor service. Looking for someplace else to take our business!!!

Both men were courteous & efficient. Drew did the installing & Mark explained everything as it was happening. Once Mark had someone on the phone to activate the system explained what was happening along the line., explained how to work the sensors on the windows, doors, etc. So far so good. Haven't had any false alarms yet (keeping fingers crossed!).

We're very happy with our service from ADT. We bought our house almost 30 years ago. My wife was going to be by herself with the kids so we called Brinks Security, whom ADT bought. They sent somebody over, went over what we needed and we installed the system. We saw a technician a few years ago because our line was outdated. He came in and put a new pad and new wiring. He was a very nice and professional guy. I even recommended ADT to my son and he got it installed too.

I have made a number of attempts to cancel my contact with ADT. Each time I am left on hold for 15-20 minutes. When I do eventually get through I am "disconnected" mid phone call. I ring back only to be told I have to start the process again!!! Then something "disconnected" and have to ring back and start again. DO NOT USE THIS FIRM AS THEY WILL NOT CANCEL THE CONTRACT WITH YOU AND WILL KEEP TAKING MONEY FROM YOUR ACCOUNT.

ADT came with the house we bought. The previous owner had let the bill run out and so we had to have it turned back on. They came out, checked the system and set it up. At first, it didn't go right because there was a new technology upgrade that needed to be done. But they saw to it that it got done and my satisfaction's very high. Since then, they've double-checked on us and we've had a little bit of feedback with the control desk as we got to know the system and remembered to use it and turn it on. But all in all, its been a very positive experience. Their system works well and I like it. They also gave us a little bonus that if we referred them, we'd be getting more. We're very happy customers.

We had a dispute over the price of our security system with ADT. I wanted them to put a security doorbell so I called them. Their rep said that I’d get two free keypads if I choose their Pulse System. I asked for smoke detectors instead and he said it will cost $100 each. I ordered four. I also wanted a siren outside because the last one I had didn’t work. He said that will cost $90 and I told him I’d pay for that. He never mentioned any other money and he said that they would just add the doorbell to my payment each month. That was fine by me.
When the installer came out, he did a great job putting it all in and got it working. He gave us a paper to sign. We paid $480 for everything. We thought we owe nothing after we paid, but when we got another $500, I called and told them that’s not right. They tried to explain that I was charged because it’s what the system shows. I insisted that their rep had told me the system was free to upgrade, except for the smoke detectors and the siren. I told them they were paid and I had a piece of paper to show.
The lady said it was declined because it’s the way it is. They also got two pieces of paper with my signature, which I denied since the signature belongs to my wife and that’s the one that says we paid $480. I insisted that the line below it says we owe nothing else and there was a circle through it. So we ended up sending it to the dispute department only to find out it was all messed up because it was not what ADT said. It was not what the signed papers are for, but I asked them if they could work with me on that $500 since it was a screw-up on both sides. I decided to take some responsibility even though the two papers I got don’t say anything else.
In the end, they said that the $530 was something to put the system in and then $480 for the other stuff that I wanted. It wasn't what was told me when the rep said he'd upgrade my system. Now it will raise my monthly payment and I'll wind up having to pay another $530. I’m a little mad right now but I’ll get over that. I told them that they could have worked with me by taking $100 off but they didn't. I hope I don’t have to go through this ever again. I like the service and I still enjoy it. I’m a little aggravated but I’ll live through it. They just didn’t want to work with me at all.

I love ADT's service. I had a couple of accidental calls when I hit the button but so far, I never had a break in. I have that sign out front and one out back and that probably helps keep burglars away. The guy I talked to when I got their service called a couple of times and checked on me. He was also trying to add on something but I told him that was it for me. The equipment is working but they need a better system when the power goes off. It should have batteries.

My friends have ADT in their houses. I got a service package from them as well and it includes all the sensors for the windows and doors and cameras. The service so far has been excellent. The sales reps have been excellent too. Whenever I have any questions, I call them and they are very prompt.

We recently had a fire in our house as a result of a grease fire in the kitchen. I was in another room, and by the time I got to the kitchen and saw the flames soaring three feet above the stove, the alarm started to sound and my phone started to ring. As my husband was putting out the fire, I was answering the phone to find ADT alerting me to the fire. While I was talking to them, another call came in from our fire department. They had been alerted by ADT and were on their way. It all happened so fast, and it was so comforting to know that ADT had this all under control before I even knew it was happening. I have shared my experience with many others, and would highly recommend them to others. Very thankful and amazed at the phenomenal service!

I just signed up for an appointment with a technician to install a system on my home. He wanted all sorts of information, credit card #, birth date and last 4 of SS# (for an ADT credit check - really?!) - it didn't seem right to me, but he promised all sorts of free equipment. He said he didn't even want the CCV # on the back of the card because the card wouldn't be charged until after the installation. So I went ahead and made the appointment.
Five minutes after hanging up, the charge from ADT appears on my credit card! Well, that was it, I was "outta there". Immediately canceled the appointment, and had the supervisor (that's what he said he was) refund the charge back on my card. Wasted about an hour of good Saturday afternoon time. These guys are high pressure, smooth salespeople. Why can't they just make a sale based on a great security system, great service, honest interaction with the customer and real integrity. I guess some companies just don't think that is important anymore. Too bad.

Lance ** stayed at our home from 9A to 5P, installing and setting everything up just the way we wanted. We were comfortable with the activation process and the cellular uplink by the time he left. There have been no alarms, so I can't speak to response time. We do feel safe & secure. We have not done a test yet, and are a little nervous about doing that.

When I bought my first house in 1998, ADT reps were circulating through the neighborhood. I went ahead and accepted the system. They were also doing a deal that they would install so many sensors as well as a motion sensor and it wasn't going to cost me anything except to start the monitoring process. They got the service technician lined up then they set a date and he came out and did it. So far, so good and and I chose to stay with them because of the comfort and ease of use of their system, as well as the quality of their service. In 2002, I built my second house and the move with ADT was seamless, too.

Bait and Switch from ADT. I am a customer of ADT since 2013. In June 2017 I was offered Pulse for 25.99 per month with a new system installation for 54.99. Technician came at my home and he couldn't install at that time due to gfci switch. I said I will take another appointment later. They started immediately charging 25.99. I called them back again in August 31 after summer vacation to schedule appointment. They said that they will do the installation but billing department told me that now price will 39.99 per month.
I have to ask them to pull back the history from June and they were able to see the offered price. I was told that I will receive a call back on same. I never got a call back. So I called back again Sep 1 i.e today. Now they said they cannot even offer 54.99. My installation is going to $113 (or so) didn't paid that much attention. Also my monthly price is going to be 39.99. By the way it is all recorded in the notes unless ADT (confirmed by agents) deletes it. They will see all the offers in my history. June Price offered 25.99 installation 54.99. Aug 31 Price changed to 39.99 and installation 54.99. Sep 1 price changed to 39.99 and installation 113 (approx). I am not only cancelling their service but also complaining in Better Business Bureau.

I am currently in my second contract with ADT. The first contract, product, and service was great. When I moved recently, I signed a new contract with ADT. The representative that helped me advised that the new contract would replace my existing contract, and that I would receive customer loyalty discounts, etc. I was emailed a copy of this in writing. The installation at the new address took many more hours than it should have. The installer left once without advising us that he would be returning. He took a lot of breaks, and was not professional. We did not feel comfortable with him setting up our system. We do not like the new system that was installed. The one we had at our previous address that was installed two years earlier was user friendly, the alarm was louder, and the glass break sensor was not constantly false alarming like the new one does.
About a month ago, I found out that ADT had not disabled monitoring service at our previous address, and they were still billing me for it. I had called customer service on three different occasions prior to this and each time I was insured that the alarm was disabled and that account was no longer active. I spoke with a local rep who advised me that the same thing was happening with a lot of customers, that the files were not being merged when a customer moved and re-signed a contract. He tried to remedy this himself, but was unable, so he advised me on what to do and told me that he would check back in a week to make sure everything was taken care of. I called customer service as he advised and explained what was going on and what I had been instructed to do by the local ADT rep. The agent seemed to understand, but advised me that I never called to have my system disconnected at the old address.
I advised him again that I had confirmed the disconnection three times since. He said that regardless the account was then closed and I only had the account at my new address open. The local rep never called me to check on things. Tonight I checked my online account and my old address is still listed and shows a current monthly balance. Once my contract is over, I will never again do business with ADT.

ADT's rep came to my door and the guy's initiative led me to sign up with them. I have the system installed 17 years ago and I recently had to have a new horn put in. Their reps walked in here, did the job, walked out, didn't charge me a dime. Everything I've had done has been done right quickly. I've also had questions so I've called up and got excellent customer service. So far, so good. Every time I forgot to undo the alarm, they called me right away.

I got vandalized and I heard of ADT. I've had it about four years and I have two buildings that are protected along with the house. A contractor put the system in and it was a good. I have the motion sensor in the middle of the hall and the wireless keychain remote with the little buttons that you push when you're outside. We try to be very careful with not setting the alarm off, but we've done it four times since we've had it. For example, we would forget the garage is locked and unintentionally set the alarm off.
One time, I cleaned the house and took off the fire alarm thing. They responded quickly, asking if the house was on fire, and they told me I couldn't take that thing down. When the alarm goes off, the ADT team is always Johnny-on-the-spot. They would call this house wanting to know if we're okay, if the house is on fire or if we've been broken into. They are also good about testing the system when I want to test it. The only thing I would suggest is for ADT to keep the calls down. Other than that, I'm sticking with the dance with ADT. I love me some ADT now plus my sister has it too.

Not at all satisfied with ADT. In just 1 week of installation having problems. My payment is 27.99 took out $52.00 from my Credit Card. Had to Monitor ADT instead ADT monitoring my house. Asked for paper billing to keep track, was charged $1.00 extra for paper billing which I was not disclosed to me prior. Asked for my Credit Card # and was put on file, not letting me know of additional options available. After installation I was disclosed the information of 3 years contract lock in. Was told everything was free with installation. To my surprise each window cost $ 40. Business gimmick. Still does not have a plaque for my home. Service lousy.

Our ADT system was put in several years ago and we’re happy with it. We have door and window breaking sensors and smoke sensors included and the service has been excellent. The installation went fine and the guy who did it was very efficient and he put the stuff in with no big destruction. Everything was explained through the installation and the user book. ADT is on the job. They even email me when things are wrong.

ADT service is terrible. Always there is signal problem and give false alarms. They advertise money back guarantee but that scheme is just to cheat customers. There is big difference between ADT dealer and ADT corporate. The dealer signs the contract with us and install equipment and never help to solve problems. We need to run behind ADT corporate to solve problems. ADT are so smart to play with customers - I as a customer cancels ADT alarm monitoring system under 6 month money back guarantee. Then, ADT dealers sent customer name to external collections to collect money as per contract whereas ADT corporate issues money back under money back guarantee. ADT corporate knows these problems and never solve them by understanding customers.
Never trust ADT and never believe their policies and/or fake money back guarantee as it never help customers trust and their alarms always give false alarms. ADT corporate and dealers just mint money by signing false contracts and you will be chased by collections department only. This review is based on my horrible experience chasing with ADT Corporate and ADT dealer (Safe Home Control).

Since a very bad encounter I had some time ago, I had nothing but great encounters with everybody at ADT. I have Pulse and the normal stuff to the call the police and the fire department. I also have the carbon monoxide, the wireless keychain remote and digital keypad that I use all the time. Every time we have something installed, the same guy comes over and he's been great. He's come out for a couple of repairs and has been absolutely terrific. But when we upgraded the first time, a different guy moved our thing to a more convenient place and he took care of everything.
I've been with them so long and I've been very satisfied with their service. But I have twice received a call in the last two months when I was out of state about our burglar alarm going off. The calls came on my cellphone and I was at an athletic event where I couldn't hear my cellphone. It turned out there was no burglary and nothing was disturbed. The motion detector at the back of our house in a great room somehow went off and I don't know why. The repairman said even a spider crawling across the little light could trip it. It's been changed though and a brand new one has been put in.
But my whole thing about it is that I have added two numbers to call if I can't be reached. One is my best friend's whose just five blocks away and the other is my daughter who was where I was at both times when I was out of state and ADT called me. They never got a call at that time even when ADT couldn't reach me. I thought that happened, they're supposed to leave me a message that they'd turn around and call the next number on the list, but that was not done.

My husband has a friend who's had ADT. After they talked about it, because we were not happy with the company that we had, my husband suggested we call ADT. We went with the package in the middle and had the two remotes. The installation guy that came out was wonderful in explaining everything and he was very courteous. Last week, we had an issue where my husband pressed the wrong button and the screen was not what we were used to. When I called, they were able to very quickly help us. Overall, I have been very happy with the service and the installation.

Our technician was on time and very polite. He was here for awhile because there was a lot for him to do but he never seemed irritated or rushed. I've had ADT for over 20 years since it was called Brinks. We got a new box and some new keypads as upgrades because the other ones were old and weren’t working properly. I called ADT and they had a representative call me. The she came in here and gave an estimate. She was very open to me saying “I’m not going crazy here. I just want to discuss the work.” So, she made sure that boxes and keypads were replaced, and they updated some wiring.
There were two guys who installed and when they came in, one ran upstairs and one downstairs. They explained everything to me and were friendly and they knew what they were doing. They fixed other issues where the testing wasn’t going through. Also, the battery of the box wore down and they didn’t have a replacement. That's how old the box was. The keypad upstairs used to chime a lot at night before going to bed and my husband gets up at 5:00 and when he used to do the alarm, he used to wake me up in the bedroom. But now they made sure that it doesn’t happen anymore. It was like $500 worth of stuff but now my system works the way I want it to.

ADT has been an awful experience to work with. I was in the process of a move and they shut off my service too early and were horrible to work with to set up in my new location. Once they admitted they made a mistake in shutting my service off too early, they told me they couldn't fix it. It was their mistake. Eventually, they said they would fix the problem, but never did. The people I worked with were clueless to the issue and just gave me standard answers that didn't help.
After all this, I decided to cancel my service altogether. Even that was a hassle. They continue to bill me for a system that isn't resolved and I can't find a person that will tell me what I owe to close out my account. I've been told several times, "You may need to call back in a couple days." Why do I need to call back? I'm just trying to close out my account. Very awful experience. I wouldn't recommend ADT to anyone. There are plenty of other security systems that do and work the same way, but with better customer service.

The volume of the siren when we open or close the door is very low. My husband is hard of hearing and we needed a louder system so he can hear it better. It’s so low that I don’t see how it would detour a robber if ever one comes along. When he forgets that he’s gone through a door and then the alarm comes on, he doesn’t even hear it or realize it until he gets a phone call. But we had an excellent service that day we had the system installed. We are set up with a two-year contract and so far, it’s been great.

I was appalled the first time I got woke up at 8am to a call from ADT. After finding out it was for a update... I told them not to call me again before 11am. Now 5 more times I get calls at 8am from ADT... and a 6th today at yep... 8am on a Saturday! Guess who cancelled service today and will warn the world of this ignorant behavior. Not to mention the installer was lazy, plugged this huge plug adapter In at a plug that was at the end of my steps. So everyone hit it or kicked it on accident (3 kids)... not in a good location at all.

ADT was the first co. I contacted to get a quote. After hearing their terms, I told the sales women I was going to shop around. She immediately said her manager could help me with some things that could lower costs. The manager told me I could get what we agreed on for under $30.00... 27.99. I told him I did not have a landline. He asked if I had internet and I explained I had Spectrum. So he led me to believe he could hook up through the internet.
When the Tech arrived, his papers had the cost of the $48.00 original cost I initially turned down. There was no compromise. This tech came from 80 miles away, was able to add some equipment to my house, but no compromise on cost or time commitment. Was this a scam to get into my house or real? I had it installed and cancelling my internet for 6 mo. out of the year to balance costs. Hope the Service is as the tech promised. I will continue with this review in 1 year.

I had Brinks originally which merged with ADT, and I just merged right along with them. I have the alarm system with glass breakage and window and door sensors. All has gone well with their staff. Their sales people were very cooperative and informative. I'm very pleased with the customer contact and the services provided.

Weve had ADT for so many years. We got six sensors for windows and doors. However, two cameras were supposed to come free with the package that we bought but we never got those. Everything has been good with the exception of not receiving our cameras. During the installation, one man came and he did a really good job. He knew his job well, went from one point to the other and was in and out in a short period of time. We've only had a couple of alarms go off. Once was because the door jarred loose after we left and the other was when we have a window open in the laundry room and the wind from outside made the sensor go off. We leave our dogs outside and we've never had a problem with that because ADT explained to us at first that we couldn't have bigger animals inside. We've been completely satisfied with ADT and have recommended them to several friends.

When I purchased my cell phone my home was in a dead zone with ATT - so they provided a micro cell to solve problem. After ADT added a radio receptor I began to receive Messages from ADT that I had a battery problem. After sending out a service rep I was told the current ADT radio could not work with micro cell - had to disconnect - Hence can't use cell phone in house. Looking for a new security service provider.

I really am glad that I chose ADT for my security. I use it almost every time I leave my home. It is so easy to work and I do feel good about having it. The fellows that installed my security system were very cordial and explained everything to me and my daughter and John did test me to see if I understood everything he explained and that was a good test to do and I passed. ADT used to be Brinks when they first started two years ago. I have their fire and police features included in my service package with them and I'm pleased with it. They really seem to be on top of things when the alarm goes off, calling and following up. They’ve been consistent and reliable and I've appreciated that. I'd recommend them.

Beware the 36-month contract. Even if you are required to move, you will be charged 75% of the remaining monthly monitoring fees in your 36-month agreement which it clearly states back on page 4 of their standard agreement. If you try to engage them, you will be met with robotic and dispassionate responses that they have all been well trained to deliver. "You signed a contract" is all you will hear. As a 21 year veteran who was often ordered to move my family after less than 36 months in one location, I can't help but feel their position and robotic uncaring responses is completely unacceptable in a world of many choices in home security. We would not use them again and strongly recommend you do not.

I was not happy to learn that the service that I thought was being transferred to my new residence was not to fulfill the original 3 year agreement from the purchase of my previous home. NO! It was another 3 year contract, 3 LONG years that I am not certain I now want. On top of that, the installer told he me couldn't continue with the installation until I Read and SIGNED the contract that was emailed to me... in the middle of moving. Who keeps up with their email, certainly not me. I had to stop unpacking, log into my email account on my phone (since my desktop wasn't working yet), find the aforementioned document and sign and send it electronically. NO, I am not happy. Communication from the beginning would have saved a lot of frustration on my end, and likely retained me as a customer when my obligatory contract is finished.

Equipment & cameras do not work on consistent basis, which causes my home to be unprotected frequently & long periods. Requires frequent repairman visits to my home for long periods of time, which is inconvenient for me. Recently, was told by ADT repairman that ADT had sold a product that does not work. I paid a high price upfront for security equipment & cameras but equipment & service is not dependable. If I change to another home security company I would have to buy new equipment & cameras so I'm stuck with ADT & they know it so they don't care about customer satisfaction.

I'm very satisfied with ADT. A bunch of people on the street had their system and we figured we’d get it too. I got a remote, a keypad, and the ADT yard sign. Their reps were able to answer all my questions and were always pleasant to talk to. The installation team also showed up on time and finished their job in a timely manner. ADT has given me excellent service so far and I'm staying with them.

I bought a house in January 2017 which came with an ADT sensor system that I planned to do a significant renovation on within 6 months. ADT confirmed the sensors and system worked correctly. Knowing that I only needed monitoring of the house for less than 6 months I specifically asked if I could activate the service and then cancel with one month's notice which the sales representative indicated wouldn't be a problem; they didn't mention the 2 year contract or $800 cost to exit the contract early!
It's extraordinary to believe that the 'contract' they asked me to sign was a screen they showed me at the time of their visit (saying, "Here is the monthly cost just sign in the box...") and didn't mention the 2yr commitment! Having spoken to customer service only option is to pay the $800 or defer for 2yrs and re-install in my new house... Why would anyone use them again if they conduct themselves this way.

I have been an ADT customer since December 2016. When I signed up for the service back in 2016 I paid the installation fee ($99 plus taxes) prior to the arrival of the technician and few days later when the technician arrived I selected to be enrolled in the Pulse plan. After discussing pricing and different options with the technician I paid the amount that would cover the difference between the promotional package as well as the fees necessary to obtain any permits necessary in my city ($131 plus taxes). Again the technician assured me that ADT will take care of the paperwork, permits and everything else.
Fast forward to August 2017 I received a letter from the city of Fort Worth stating that if I don't have a permit the police won't respond to the alarm. I wasn't worried because I assumed ADT had already taken care of this permit when I first signed up but I decided to call them anyway just to make sure. To my surprise the lady told me that I didn't have a permit in my address, in fact someone had applied for one at the beginning of August but never completed the application. That someone isn't us because we didn't do that.
I called ADT and Defenders customer service yesterday on 08/18 to explain the situation but received nothing but a horrible customer service and talked to people who couldn't care less. I feel like I was cheated all this time and had a piece of plastic on my wall that was never intended to keep my family safe in case something bad did happen. I hope someone can look into this matter and help me find a resolution soon, otherwise I will take all necessary steps including legal actions to fix the situation.

In May 2017 I contacted ADT to set up a consultation for a home security system and exterior cameras. On June 3 a representative in an ADT uniform came to the house and we agreed to have a home security system installed along with 4 exterior cameras. Approximately, a month later we were having problems with one of the exterior cameras being offline. We contacted the technical support department and were told a technician would have to come out and service the camera. Jeff, an ADT representative from the corporate office, came out on Monday, August 7. He indicated that he could not service the camera because our account was with Defenders (ADT’s subcontractor – a company I did not contact nor agree to do business with). He also indicated that the reason we were having issues was because the cameras installed were interior cameras and they were getting wet.
We contacted Defenders together and were informed that a Defenders’ technician would have to come out and verify which cameras were installed and that Defenders do not carry exterior cameras. The technician that installed our system initially never informed us that ADT didn’t carry exterior cameras, nor that he was with Defenders as a contractor, rather than an ADT employee. Had we known our contract was being sent to another company, we would have gone with a different provider.
On Saturday, August 12 Matt, a Defender technician (wearing an ADT uniform), came to the house to verify they were interior cameras and was willing to uninstall the cameras and refund our money. I told him not to do anything that I would contact ADT’s corporate office to resolve the issue. On Monday, August 14 I contacted Wanda **, Jeff’s superior with ADT corporate, to have them replace the incorrect, faulty cameras to exterior ones and was informed they did not have our account (because it was with Defenders) and they could not install the cameras or make any changes to our system installation.
On August 16, after many frustrating hours on the phone with both ADT and Defenders, Cierra from Defenders, cancelled our contract without any penalties and was told that a full refund would be issued ($2,097 for the equipment charges; $105 for the installation fee; $270.12 for the monthly fees and $20 for the registration fee with the County), for a total amount of $2,492.12. This does not include the cost of necessary repairs due to the running of the lines from inside our home (through drywall and exterior siding), to outside, which are now not being utilized. Our service was canceled on August 16, however; a refund has yet to be done.
ADT mispresented themselves with their service contract and technicians. At no point did I ever contact Defenders to install and/or service my equipment, nor was I advised that I was being contracted out to them. ALL representatives were in ADT uniforms, the charges to my credit cards state ADT and my contract and receipts all have the ADT logo. In my aim to resolve this matter however, ADT has refused to own responsibility. It's been a frustrating experience and I do not recommend them.

Nice brand name and the system was acceptable for periods of time but we had many outages. I believe we had people come back to our house 3 times and did 10 plus phone service calls when there were outages. After moving to a new home, we tried again and had many of the same issues. We decided to switch to SimpliSafe which has been much easier to use and flawless.
Maybe we had bad luck but ADT would not allow us out of our contract even though we told them that there were issues and they had a record of it. I guess we have no choice but to pay. Very disappointing experience. If you are considering the system, look closely at the contract so you don't buy a flawed system and have to pay for nothing. People were fine on the phone but the policies are very slanted to ADT and it seems like making money is more important to them than customer satisfaction.

We’ve known ADT for years and have been very happy with them. We've got lots of stuff from them and the service has been excellent. The sales reps were great. The ADT installers were very professional. I thought I was going to have a little rough time to use the security system but it is really easy. It's working fine and I don't have problems with the alarms, windows, and everything. We're going to get motion cameras soon and we would use them again.

I've had ADT for a long time even before I moved to this area. I had ADT when I lived in Virginia and in Illinois. By the time I got ready to move into a new development, there had already been break-ins. And so, we contacted ADT to get set-up when we had the house built. Right now, I have door and window contacts, motion sensors, and cameras.
All of the interactions that I've had with the sales personnel at ADT had been pretty good. After I had ADT for a number of years, I was considering going to somebody else because of the price. But when I called them and talked to them about it, they actually gave me a better deal and lowered the price on the package that I had. Also, when the installers came out, I had a great interaction with them. They were knowledgeable, very professional, courteous and efficient. And when I got the upgrade, they made sure that they did a neat job. Overall, they did an outstanding job and conduct. I'd recommend them to anybody.

My experience with ADT has been excellent. Thursday, 8/17 I went to my daughter's, setting the alarm and leaving through a distant door. My daughter told me she had had a call from you, and when I got home Friday I found a note from the sheriff's deputy that he had checked the premises.

It's a bit confusing, but I must admit it is easier to use than the previous website. I would recommend ADT especially if you live in an urban area and you live alone. The key fob remote is also extremely helpful if you're elderly or disabled. The email alerts are helpful and the staff are also professional.

Our house was burglarized several days ago. We called ADT to get a security system. Customer service was very nice and told us the prices and options available to us. Because our wireless reception is spotty at best, he recommended that someone should come to our property to determine if we can get ADT installed. He set up an appointment for us and stated that someone would come to our property 2 days later at noon. I called ADT. After waiting for nearly two hours after the set appointment time and was informed that no appointment was scheduled for us and that we have to get an appointment for another day. Not planning on ever doing business with ADT in the future, considering I could have worked that day instead of sitting around all day for nothing.

We have had ADT for many, many years. We have gone through 2 batteries and we have called and they are mailed out immediately. For the most part, I'm very pleased with my ADT. I'm 86 years old and feel like I'm protected while living alone. Sometimes I don't understand how my system works and such, but I feel secure knowing that my home is being monitored by ADT.

We recently purchased this home with a functional security system monitored by ADT prior to our purchase. Since we were from another State, I checked online for ADT to have the monitoring reactivated and called the toll free number. I explained what I needed and was told that by law, they would need to install new keypads and would confirm the system was functioning properly. When asked for the cost, I was told with signing a 3 years agreement, they would include a $1,000 credit for equipment. The service call would be $99 but they would include a gift certificate to cover this. I made the appointment and gave them my credit card number.
Two techs arrived (1.5 hr. late) from "The Defenders". One started to remove the existing keypads and installed new ones, while the other "inspected" the entire house. Then their quote was presented: $11,000 including the $1,000 credit to upgrade to current ADT recommendation. After declining, the price was reduced to $8,000, then $5,000 as equipment was eliminated. Again declined. The tech made a call to his manager and he said, they could do it for $3,200. They were asked to leave. They removed the new keypads and did not reinstall the old ones; just left them.
I call ADT corporate and explained the problem. They sent another tech; different company. He reconnected the keypads but could not activate the system and said someone fried the panel. Another call to ADT corporate and was told I had to resolve it with "The Defenders". After speaking with them, they denied they did anything to the system but would check with ADT corporate and call back. Another person from "The Defenders" called and said they would refund the $99 service charge only and have no further liability unless I present them with Three Quotes from licensed installers defining the issue and cost to repair. Then it would be presented to a Complaint Panel for review and determination.
Both ADT Corporate and "The Defenders" (an ADT Authorized Premier Provider) per the website have washed their hands of destroying my security system.After finding many similar complaints about this company, I cannot believe ADT still has them as a provider. I will be filing a formal complaint with the State of Tennessee to investigate them and rescind their licensed. Lastly, the quoted $29.99/mo. monitoring fee jumped to $54.99.

I have had to call customer service on several occasions. The equipment is fine but needed to prevent alarm going off as I was having work done in the house. Multiple silly questions that I had. Customer service is exceptional, knowledgeable and caring. Just a FYI I am a senior citizen and am technologically challenged. I have nothing but good experiences with ADT. We have had our system since 2009 and we use it. It is reliable as are their representatives. Mostly I have set the alarm off by accident. I know the check up call will come or the sheriff's department will. Know ADT will protect us and our property.

My alarm went off. I did not know what set it off. Just as I was about to call ADT, they called me. I had forgotten about the handheld device and did not realize I had set off the alarm handling the device. It was explained to me very well. I now have this at my bedside... hopefully I won't have to use it. I feel secure with ADT.

I'm so tired of the chirping from the system. It has been going on since the middle of June, now it's the middle of August. It chirps all night, it may stop for a while, but starts back, they have sent people out, we have talked to customer service and nothing has changed. Supposedly, they are upgrading, but how can you upgrade and your service is worse than it was when we got the system. I get up at 4:30 in the morning and most of the time I have been awake because of that darn chirping every 30-60 seconds. Not happy at all, the service may not even be working, since it chirps all day and night.

It was an interesting experience, fun and educational. The young man was on time, identified himself and we began a close relationship, over the next 4 hours. He knew what he was doing and explained his step by step activities (to all my questions). We had the devices installed in a manufactured home and it was the 1st one he had done. Also, the wall used had a legal room added on and that made his job a little more difficult. The Area Manager came to visit us and to see him (for the first time). After it was installed and working properly, the worker gave us detailed instructions on how to turn it off and on, set it with a new code and made sure we were comfortable in doing these things, BEFORE he left. (Too bad my husband forgot lots of the important things like the remote to turn it off before opening the door and remembering the manual code). No problem as I was there. Hahaha.

Our technician was knowledgeable and worked with us to do the best package according to our needs. He was not too friendly or warm but did meet our needs as far as the alarm system goes. The whole process took about 5 1/2 hours and he taught us how to utilize it and where to call if we had any questions or concerns. The customer service rep was very kind and helpful but no one seemed to explain the Visa cash back process and I just assumed it would be mailed to me. I am very happy with my alarm but definitely would've appreciated more detailed information during the whole process.

Overall, I am have been very dissatisfied with my experience in upgrading my ADP system to Pulse. Last month, I explored upgrading my current ADP security system to Pulse as well as adding an automatic door lock. After spending some time on the phone with the salesperson, we agreed to a price and setup an appointment. I called back shortly before the scheduled appointment to exchange the lock for a doorbell as I was unable to drill the hole for the deadbolt, which I was told ADT did not do. In this follow-up discussion, I learned that the original salesperson did not code the appointment as an upgrade and therefore the incorrect time for the job was set. Even though this was of no fault of my own, ADT was pushing to reschedule the appointment instead of finding a way to make this work.
After much back and forth, escalation, speaking with managers as well as a call to the corporate office, a technician was scheduled. The day of the visit last over 9 hours and ended with the technician leaving the job site without a working system in place and notifying us that this was the case. After hours of phone time with customer service, the technician was scheduled to come back and fix this the next day. The next day, no technician showed up. Calling customer service again, I find out that scheduling was done incorrectly and instead of finding a solution, the original proposal was to inconvenience me and push out the appointment. After fighting again and this time engaging corporate, a technician arrived later that day and fixed the system stating the prior technician overloaded the circuit board.
As for all my troubles, customer service agreed to waive all installation charges and credit my account for 6 months of monitoring. Following this resolution, there were false "cell battery low" signals, another technician scheduled and no replacement necessary. Today, my issues continued with a bill showing up that claimed I owed $145.00+ for installation. Again, calling customer support and pushing for a manager to review the notes, this charge was waived... Hopefully my issues have concluded and I can go back to my life not having to worry about fighting with ADT. To say that this was a long, drawn out and frustrating experience for what should have been a simple upgrade, is an understatement. In an ideal world, I would want ADT to let me out of my current contract, at no charge, to find a different security company that would treat its customers better.

I signed up Monday Aug 7 2017. I was installed Aug 8, 2017. I was leaving for a trip to New York for a week. A few weeks before that there had been some break in in the area so I decided to get an alarm system. They came to install, said they couldn't mount my panel on the wall, then he said he could. Then the panel they brought is old!!!
Set the alarm that night, woke up in the morning and it said my alarm system was offline. This was 7 or 8 am. So I called in. They explained how to reset and said if it didn't it again I had to reset it. I told the sales rep. Plus the customer service rep I was going out of town. I couldn't just keep resetting my system not to mention I shouldn't have to! We left my house to start our trip at 945 am. I tried setting the system and had to WAIT to RESTART the system AGAIN. It said it was offline again!
My grandmother went to let my dogs out. I remotely unarmed the house and told her how to arm it in case she couldn't reach me. She called and said it was saying there was a problem. I looked on my pulse app. The damn system was offline AGAIN! I walked her through how to reset the system. She did and then armed it. I checked the next morning and sometime in the middle of the night the system went offline again! It is now Aug 14, 2017. We are headed home and my alarm has not been online!
I called customer service yet again! Waited 15 minutes. Told the lady I just want to cancel. I don't have time to deal with this. I have a little child at home with me and my dogs are a better alarm than your company and they don't cost near as much! They informed me I was past my 3 days. I said no you have a 60 day money back service guarantee. I want to cancel my service. She said I would have to schedule a tech to come out and try and fix the system. I said "okay but if that doesn't fix the issue will you cancel my policy." She said NO I had to allow a tech MULTIPLE times to come out and fix my system first! I am a single working mother. I don't have time to just take off work so you can try to fix this damn thing over and over! So basically they want you to have someone come out and "try" to fix the problem until your 6 months is out. I don't think so.
I have read over my contract and I have forwarded it to my lawyer to see what he advises. But nowhere online, on their prerecorded system, their sales rep, or my contract does it state I have to allow them multiple times to come out and fix it. It says: "ADT Money-Back Guarantee. We want you to be happy and confident with ADT home security. Should you be unhappy, know that we will do everything we can to resolve your concerns. If we are unable to provide a solution within six months of installation, we will refund the system installation price and pay all monitoring fees after we have attempted to resolve your concerns. Completely hassle-free." So you want me to go 6 months with these issues and HOPE in the meantime my house doesn't get broke into and my daughter and I are safe!!! Are you freaking kidding up!

I very, very rarely give bad reviews, but I am so upset with the crookedness & unprofessionalism I am experiencing with ADT. Nevermind robbers, ADT stole $2,500 out of our checking account. That's right, they did not have permission to take that $ out of my account. It was supposed to be monthly payments over 4 months. It all started when I made appt to have our existing ADT system service turned back on. Installer came out & told me that we could not use old system due to some new regulations & wanted to sell me a $5,000 system. After settling on needing only 1/2 of that & still being $2,500 & not budgeted for (On phone they told me there was less than $100 setup fee then $19.95/mo for 1st yr, w/2nd & 3rd year a bit more expensive, depending on service I selected) installer told me that we could split payment over 4 month period, so I agreed.
He installed the system & the next morning we saw they took the total $2500 out of our checking account w/our debit card! We were beyond upset & called, thinking ADT would correct this. Nope! The lady on phone told me it would take 30 days, & quite probably more. No apology, no concern. So I told her I would like to cancel. She told me she would mark account as "cancelled" & that's all I needed to do & put me online to get appointment to get new system uninstalled & returned. I waited on hold, with choice of holding or leaving message to have call returned. Twenty minutes goes by & then it told me I had to leave a message, then it clicked over & said that the line was not set up to receive messages & hung up on me! I didn't have time to sit on phone anymore that Friday afternoon.
I very luckily called back Saturday morning & told new ADT customer service person on phone how I had cancelled & needed to set up appointment to get equipment taken back. She said there was no cancellation notice on my account. I told her how lady on Friday cancelled it for me. She told me it had to be done in writing by fax or phone before midnight that day to be able to get full refund. She said cancellation form would be in back of my booklet that installer gave me. I looked & no such form was left with me, so she emailed 1 to me. This was only honest, truthful, helpful person that I encountered at ADT & luckily I talked to her or it would have been my word against theirs that I had cancelled. Anyhow, I faxed it from office supply store to have proof of fax & I also mailed it trackable w/signature required by priority mail. I phoned back Monday, mid day, not having any reply from ADT.
They told me they never received any fax or mail w/proof of cancellation & couldn't help me. When I told them I had proof from office store of fax & even mailed it in with proof of mailing, the person changed his tone, found it, & put me through to service department to schedule a disconnect & return equipment. My appointment time on Tuesday was nearing its end & my initial installer, Keith, phoned me in dismay as he was shocked I was cancelling. This was 1st he had heard of it. He apologized. His boss, at local office called & apologized. They said that accidental charge could have been reversed that day & they would call & get me taken care of. They offered me a 50% discount if I came back, but I had lost trust in ADT & just wanted my money back. They came & removed new system.
Our old system that at least alerted us, was thrown away, so now we have less than what we started with, and even after numerous phone calls & promises from ADT people that our money would be back in our checking account ASAP, it’s been another week of waiting & none of our money returned yet. Never mind the robbers, beware of ADT. They will steal much more from you, their loyal client, than any robber will! We are very upset & concerned we may never get our money back from this company. I have no written proof & none of what they said has been true, except for 1 lady that helped me make a proper cancellation.
My installer acted concerned until I told him & his boss that we would not be coming back, no matter what after all the issues. After that, he says he called ADT but never replies back to me, basically just fluffing me off. When we were installing on 1st day & getting things set up, it took over 1.5 hours to get my online account set up because service on the other side could not get my email address right. I should have seen the signs then, but we badly needed an alarm system... which we are still needing & hoping to set up w/a new company. Just scared to trust any of them now.

It brings peace of mind to me that I am able to sleep soundly without worrying about every little noise. My children who live away also don't worry about me knowing that I have a security system. I use it faithfully, and have actually had it alert me when I left something too long in the microwave and the smoke detector system alerted me -- by the way, my regular smoke alarm never did go off.

Have had for 2 years and love the Pulse Service. I have my A/C, 2 wall outlets, and 1 light bulb all connected to it. Everything is programmed for scheduled times. Perfect when I leave town and no one is home. My neighbor also has her own code when she comes over and I love that I get all alerts on my phone.

Last month I had a false alarm while I was out of town. ADT responded quickly and appropriately, called my son, who went to the house, also a Sheriff's deputy came. They established that it was a false alarm. I found out about it after I returned from out of town. I work out of town in a facility that doesn't allow cell phones, so ADT had to use the backup contact system already in place.

We have had reliable service for the past 7 & 1/2 years. Also customer service was supportive in price negotiations and lowered our monthly bill. Our emergency contacts have been notified, fire alarm is in order and the phone operators have provided clear communication.

We’ve had ADT’s basic package for several years now and I’m totally satisfied with them. We live out in the country and I know if the alarm goes off, they respond pretty fast. My son went out the door one time and didn't set the alarm. It went off and they couldn't get a hold of us. There was a policeman here in a short time and I was happy with that. He didn't need to come out, but I was happy to see that if we did need him, they would be here. So, it worked out well and I'm happy.

Technician responded to my request for a service call after one of the monitors was activating itself for no apparent reason. Tech came, replaced the unit plus also replaced the master control unit used to turn alarm on and off. It was getting worn and some of the numbers were hard to push. Done promptly and all is working well and as advertised.

Great experience from the ADT salesperson to the installer to the Pulse system itself. I love that I can look at my phone and see if all is clear and if the system is armed or not. It also sends me alerts when the system is armed and unarmed. Very easy to use. I love it and recommend this to anyone who is looking to protect their home.

ADT always provides customer service. ADT has friendly technicians and friendly staff who are willing to assist you. Had the ADT system alarm not alerted me (out at dinner) and the local fire department of an ongoing event in my home caused by the family cat, I could have possibly lost my home. Prompt action by ADT minimized the damage to my residence.

ADT helps us feel safe at home as they take their customers' safety to heart. I've had a few false alarms and they have called within a second; 1 to make sure I'm alright, and 2. Not to call the cops so I will not be charged for a false alarm. They are very helpful, will answer any questions and walk you through testing your alarm. Best customer service. I am completely annoyed with the lack of customer service that I was promised when I signed on with ADT. Due to an error in billing I was promised two months of free service. And yet my account was billed. I would like this matter addressed as soon as possible.

Lower your rate for great customers. I been a owner for many many years, no problem, pay my fee every month and always on time and, paid the full amount. Left a bad system for ADT and enjoy it and that peace of mind that when I am on the road or away from my residence, my wife and kids are safe. I live in a townhouse and I got two motion sensors and some magnets up the doors from ADT service. It’s a great system. The salesman was very informative and he said that it’s what I needed which helped me decide to get the package. The installation guy knew his business exactly and he explained how everything works and what I need to improve the system. I’m satisfied with the service.

We have had ADT since October 2005. We value their service as it provides security and peace of mind for me and my wife. We got ADT after two break-in attempts. Have not had any problems since. Upgraded to the Pulse system and recently added Z-wave units and cannot be happier. Every time we have contacted or been contacted by ADT personnel, they are the best.

ADT and their Primary Provider called Defenders with Protect Your Home has been a nightmare. They lied about the cost, it was the typical "bait and switch" tactic. Then they added additional fees for an electrical permit and alarm registration for a total of $132.10 and when I questioned them on it to another representative I was told they are not necessary. Would they have said or done anything about the additional charges if I hadn't questioned them, I doubt it.
I have spoken to numerous people regarding this new alarm system and every person I spoke to gave me different information; sometimes correct, sometimes not correct. Problem is who does one listen to? My recommendation is for anyone wanting a new system, don't go to Defenders Protect Your Home. Make sure you take notes when speaking to someone because no two people will tell you the same information. They will switch it around and charge for unnecessary fees.

Excellent work. Friendly, knowledgeable, went above and beyond. Got the system put back together and working after the cable system messed it up. Also replaced battery and did functional tests. Involved rewiring the phone splitter to match the new cable box. Great job.

My last situation with ADT is my apartment smoke alarm went off. They contacted me immediately. I told him that everything was fine. I was just cooking in the kitchen with all the windows closed and they said okay. They will call the fire department to cancel the call.

I frequently traveled over the 14 years I have been using this system. It gives me peace of mind to know my family is safe when I am away. Their representatives are very friendly and know what they are doing. Their online site allows you to do monthly alarm self tests and you can even order supplies. Overall a reliable company to deal with. When your alarm goes off the call center calls you very quick which is peace of mind.

Tech came out to replace a defective sensor. He arrived on time, was polite, courteous and knowledgeable. He had the work done in minimal time and cleaned up. I enjoyed sharing camping stories with him! Great job! The previous technician had installed the wrong sensor in my door!

I have the plain service package with ADT because I don't have a good enough internet service to push the pulse. The sales reps had been courteous and friendly. We have had ADT for 20 years now, however, several months after the installation, they came back and had to re-do my keypad. They were wonderful though. The technician was a really nice young man who was very polite. He did a good job and cleaned up everything. I would recommend ADT, and I have as well.

After my husband died, I used the Stay feature at night and even during the day. ADT responds immediately to any alarm, even when set off by mistake. They call all the numbers on the list I have given them to verify if there is an emergency. Their customer service people have helped me establish secondary codes for visitors. I would recommend ADT to anyone, and often do.

I have nothing, but positive things to say about ADT. I have had wonderful service in all areas. I had my alarm upgraded and they did it in a timely manner. They show up on time and they clean up after they are done. Sometimes I have needed to troubleshoot a problem and their customer service department has been very helpful and work to solve the problem. I am extremely happy with their overall service and I would highly recommend them.

Excellent protection and service. Like online trouble shooting. The cost is getting prohibitive and will look for a comparable service. There are many options but nothing exceeds ADT service with real people not just a smart phone. Hoping ADT will offer packages like the self installed smart phone packages.

The Tech we had to update our system was remarkable!!! He was the nicest, most respectful, knowledgeable man we have ever met!! I am very thankful that the day I called to cancel our service that the woman I talked to talked me out of canceling! Only because we weren't utilizing it like we used to! But we do again now! I recently had an apparent malfunction of my alarm system; the entry tone beeps sounded at 3 AM (not alarm) when I was sure no one was entering. I was concerned but after checking everything out chalked it up to the wind. A couple of days later, the entry door immediately sounded the actual alarm when I entered rather than give me the delay to be able to enter the code to turn the system off. At this point I called ADT. A very understanding young lady listened to my experiences and then said she would walk me thru resetting my alarm. I was very appreciate because I have a very busy schedule and didn't want to make an appointment for a tech to come out. It's been a week now and haven't had any "malfunctions", the reset appears to have fixed the problem.

While closing the outer sliding door, I pushed harder than usual and the alarm connection fell off. I tried to place it back on but a piece had broken off. The repairman, who came that afternoon, fixed and tested all the other connections in the house before he left... wonderful to have such pleasant people working for ADT.

On our home’s ground floor, the windows and the doors have ADT shatter sensors as well as smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Installing these has been pretty smooth and they told us all about the system. We've had some things replaced over the years that needed it, whether it be batteries or sensors and they always do a good job with that. Right now, we are waiting on the technician, who is supposed to be here between 8:00 and 12:00, to make our system wireless, take it off the landline phone and then set it up on ADT Pulse. Also, put in the ring doorbell for us, and one camera inside the house. He’s late and he did not call, so, I'm dissatisfied with that. If his previous assignments got extended, most companies would have called to inform me. Overall, though, ADT has been very useful. The company has generally done very well for us in all of the matters with the security and fire systems.

Have been an ADT subscriber since 2008 in North Carolina. Just changed to ADT here in Baton Rouge. Have always had excellent service from ADT. Yes, ADT is expensive, but by my standards they are worth the extra cost. I can now observe both of my houses' cameras on my computer and phone.

I have had ADT for many years now. And I feel very secure with it. Use it daily. Many of relatives and friends asked about it. Told them how I would not want to go without it. I had accidentally pressed my panic button, causing the alarm to go off. ADT called within 20 seconds, which made me feel very good, even though it wasn't a real emergency. I feel confident that they will provide the help I need very quickly, if a real emergency should arise. Thank you ADT!

My husband was confused and hit the wrong button which started the alarm and called the fire company. Our landline was down at the time, so it was very hectic! The fire company arrived, but all was resolved. Thank you for your prompt assistance!!

City-wide power failure Christmas morning 2015. Power went out while my daughter was preparing our traditional shrimp and grits. Soon after, we hastily left to grandparents' home for early dinner. Before the meal was over, we got a call from ADT. My daughter forgot to turn off the burner under the shrimp. We arrived to a yard full of firemen. Lots of smoke, but praise God, no fire. ADT contacted me and notified fire dept asap. This could have been a real disaster! System worked perfectly!!! Like a TV commercial. Thanks ADT!!!

Installation was easy and setting up service was ok. Only concern is that I have begun getting flyers and offers for new ADT service by mail. It's a lower monthly rate, why was I not offered this upon sign up? Also, doesn't ADT know I am a customer? They service my residence - why am I getting new customer offers?

Ring is a very useful tool especially when away from home. Also can turn on light at night, activate and deactivate alarm thru Pulse application on smart phone and perform live view on both inside camera and Ring camera. Can also verify the health of communications.

I appreciate the immediate response to my dilemma. The technician changed the sensor and gave me good advice for maintaining my system. I was unaware that the moisture in my bathroom could interrupt the sensor's operation. He replaced the sensor and tested the others. Thanks again.

The technician who installed the system was patient and thorough. I thought we were connected to a service that would contact us if alarm was tripped for a prolonged period. When we replaced our door we got an automated phone call to our home... Previous there was a voice from the alarm and asked for a voice code... I guess we no longer have that service?

Technician was not very helpful, was not sure how to install the items nor did he want to place wiring in wall or out of sight. Technician was also was very rude, he did not seem to want to do the job. He wanted to accomplish the job his way or no way. Very unprofessional.

The alarms are very good. However, when the power went out the alarm sounded. I turned it off but after a few minutes it sounded again. When I called ADT the operator told me that the only way to stop the alarm from sounding repeatedly was to disconnect the battery. To me, that is a poor way to manage the alarm system.

The installation went easy. The system seems easy. The fobs seem easy. All seems well until you lean over with the fob in your hand and it goes off. When you carry in your hand and a finger presses a button and alarm goes off. Ugh we have had a few false alarms but I am not sure we will get used to it. We can't cancel because it costs way too much.

House and Medical Alert - So far I haven't need the alarm. Peace of mind knowing that it's there. For the medical alert, I tapped the button in error and within seconds, they called me to see if I was alright. Good to know that it works no matter where I am in the USA.

We got ADT security in Feb 2015 in Texas. We knew we were moving in 2 years, and the salesman said we could cancel the contract without any penalty when we moved. We cancelled in July 2017 when we moved to Colorado. Now ADT is hounding us for $300 they say is remaining on the 3-year contract!! We would never have signed a 3-year contract if we had known it wasn't cancelable.
Speaking to several customer service people made no difference, they were all totally rigid, saying we signed a 3-year contract and there was no way out of it, not even if you leave the house where the service was provided!! Now they are going to send our account to collections, in an attempt to ruin our credit. Every other service provider associated with our previous house allowed cancellation without any penalty when we moved. ADT is unethical and unlawful! There is a class action lawsuit against ADT going on now for this very issue: this relentless hounding of people for termination fees.

On more than one occasion I have triggered my alarm by mistake. The response from ADT was always quick and efficient. A call would come to my designated telephone number and the responder to my call always sought to make sure I was safe. Appropriate information was gathered from me such as my password after my safety was determined. I wholeheartedly recommend ADT to family and friends. I have been with ADT for many years, including when I resided in another state.

I called about updating my information regarding an upcoming trip for which I am using a housesitter. The representative was very helpful setting up the chain of events if there should be an alarm incident, taking the name of my housesitter, establishing code words etc. The process was quick and I feel good about knowing that my housesitter should face no problems in an alarm event.

This company always respond to an alarm going off. I feel secure having them monitor my home and I am confident with their level of legendary customer service received. We did not close inside garage door fully and it blew open triggering alarm. ADT called phone numbers... home/cell and reached me 2 blocks away... advised ADT not to call LE until I verified most likely cause of alarm. Great service. Customer more than 15 years.

Was having a lot of trouble signing in on my Pulse account. Had to use it every time. Called and talked to 3 people about this problem. All they could tell me was to reboot my phone. I did so. On the 4th call I talked to a man and he told me that "When you did the last upgrade the this was a existing problem." Said that the company has known about this and was trying to fix it. Just forget that the emails I was getting telling me that my phone was LOCKED UP to just forget it and when the next upgrade comes it should be fixed. Why did it take 3 people who didn't know about this problem and 1 that did.

We love the app and the comfort that our in-house system provides is priceless. The app is wonderfully convenient, quick and easy to use. We have glass and motion protection. I believe the ADT sign in our front yard is an additional deterrent.

I couldn't find any information on how to replace the battery in my system. It was not covered in the manual. I called ADT and after talking to a technician it was decided that I needed a service call. He arrived within 24 hours. He was very efficient and showed me just how to replace the battery in the future, giving me tips about how to do it. Many thanks for his help.

While on vacation, out of state, I received a live call from a LIVE ADT person telling me that our alarm from the living room motion detector had gone off and asked if they should call police. With me being out of state I had no choice but to request police be notified. Next day I called local police admin number to see what was up. They reported finding all secure and had logged it as a false alarm and that no other action was necessary. When I returned home I could find no indication of what could caused the alarm. I put it down as an anomaly. It happened once before years ago, w/ same result. Twice in 4-5 years is pretty good. Cops thought so too. Keep up the good work.

I had other security services in the past two years; my major concern with both was not being able to control alarming and de-alarming from my smartphone. I told the ADT salesman this was a major concern, and he assured me I wouldn't have that problem with ADT, and he was absolutely correct. I also was pleased with the installation, and the very helpful suggestions the installation representative made. I'm very satisfied with ADT and intend to keep them for the indefinite future.

I have been with ADT a long time (since 1983). My experience has been exceptional. ADT customer service when I had to make contact was always professional and courteous. In terms of ADT service for my home, that too has been exceptional. When my fire or alarm system is low, I am contacted to let me know that I need to replace batteries or check zones which are not working. I have in the past and will continue to do so in the future recommend ADT to family and friends.

I have been an ADT customer for a while. I have not had a problem when I called them. I sometimes don't push the alarm hard enough and they call me. A few times the police came out, oh well we are all human. I have recommended them to family and friends. I will continue to use this service as long as I can.

The new technology that ADT has put out is amazing, with all the burglaries going on in our community, I feel that at least my home is safe. With ADT monitoring, the local thieves have to come up with a different strategy to break into my home. My neighbors have taken notice to my monthly tests and are very aware of my ADT home alarm system.

Our system keeps going offline, usually several times in minutes. I have previously mentioned this problem before, wondering if our security is compromised during these times. No one has responded before, and I doubt I will receive any response to this either.

This is usually the result of a loss in internet connectivity. Your security system is not compromised by Pulse going offline for any span of time. So far, I have had nothing but perfect service, every time I set off my alarm by mistake, they make sure I'm ok, always helpful whenever I need advice or service, and I've been with them for 16 years. Since I requested and received my remote key, I've been even happier.

We ordered new pulse camera. The technician, Thomas, did a great job of installation. He stayed on the job until all pictures were received on all of our devices. He also called 20 minutes before arriving. No negative comments about this service.

Quick phone responses. Easy to understand customer service reps; they provide accurate information with walking you through features on your system as needed. Would love to have periodic information about upgrade options on equipment (annually with contract renewal for example); I know our system is dated, but still working.

The system makes me feel safer. I really haven't used it that much. I feel that the signs placed outside pretty well do the job. When I first got the system I had lost my dog so it definitely helped me feel safer. But a year later I got another dog and since have only used it if I'm traveling.
