I went to Google and got a phone number, and I talked to somebody from ADT. It was two days before someone came out because that was the date that we set up. It would have been quicker but I needed it for two days. John, the technician, was good. He knew what he was doing and he was quick, which was what I liked the most. The system is simple and it’s not rocket science although the door sensors are way too big. It might be my fault because I told him I wanted the basic. I didn’t want any fancy stuff but I didn’t realize how big it was gonna be. Still, everything was good. We don’t have the internet now but we're gonna get it in the next two weeks. So, eventually, I’m going to upgrade to a one door camera and two cameras for the outside. The control panel is not touch screen and is part of the basic but I told the technician that I would like to have a better panel when that happens.

One of my friends had ADT and 'cause I trust my friends, I took his advice. The sales rep was awesome and I couldn't have asked for anybody better than he was. He told me everything I needed to know. The welcoming and everything has been great so far. I love the system and being that this is my first home security, it couldn't have gotten any better.

ADT - Protect Your Home was able to give me everything that I wanted. I wanted to have a doorbell as well as a camera at the back of my house. I also wanted to have a full security system. I went with them and the salesperson whom I spoke to was knowledgeable. The installer was really helpful with the equipment and he helped me decide on what I wanted. They were able to tap into my AC so I'm able to control that. When I'm downstairs, I don't have to go upstairs to make our house cooler.
However, I was told that I would get a gift card when I got the system. When I contacted ADT, they said they knew nothing about that and I wasn't supposed to get one. I then felt that they were just telling me about the gift card so they could get the sale and I'm a little offended by that. There have also been a couple of technical support problems. I had an issue when the battery for the doorbell camera was saying that it was low. Nobody told me how to change that. I had the installation done in March and it has only been a couple of months. With this, I would have an issue of having to change the battery every couple of months. Still, the service has been good so far.

My kids are sneaking out of the house at three o'clock in the morning. So I decided to get a security system. We used to have ADT on our other house and it was good. Their rep was great and he understood what I was looking for. I needed a monitor on every door and window that the kids could crawl out of. He also told me about the shockproof sensors and he showed me how to operate it from my phone and all that stuff. But I was a little shocked by the price. They emailed me the certificate. I've gotten that with my insurance and it has reduced my insurance by 26%.
I was home alone one night and I heard the alarm went off. Then when I looked at the little panel, it was the basement door and it had just blown open. Now, I just have to get my husband to pay attention on how to disarm it on his phone when he gets up in the middle of the night to let the dogs out so the kids won't even know that we don't set it at night but we can still hear whenever a door is open.

ADT had a special offer for free installation. My strongest impression was of the installer because we were there when he put the system in. He was a very capable guy. He answered all our questions and explained to us exactly how the system worked. It's not completely complicated but it's nice to have a real, plain explanation. I don't know how many different options we could have chosen but he explained each option to us so that we got an understanding of what different ways we could alarm the home. He was just an excellent representative of ADT.

Protect Your Home does great advertising. They're all over. So, when I got the home, they were the first person I thought of. Setting everything up was seamless. They explained everything to me. I understand that they are selling other equipment and everything, but I just wanted to keep it basic. They allowed me to cut to the chase with the sales pitch and I appreciated that. The installer was awesome. Everything was good.

My daughter had AT&T at her house. We were sitting and talking one afternoon, and she said, “Mama, you need to get a security system.” She texted ADT and they literally called me within three minutes, and it was on a Friday. The tech came out Saturday morning at 8 o’clock. I was totally impressed. Two technicians came and they were wonderful. Derek came first, then because they weren’t that busy on Saturday, they sent another tech. The second tech came about halfway into the call but both of them went over everything. They showed me the different features and proposed everything for my house. I just couldn't afford $8,000 so I ended up just alarming the doors and the keypad. They were really knowledgeable. They were lovely to have in my home and they were outstanding.
I love the system's features. I was a little nervous to get used to it, but I’m fine now. What I really love is the fact that I can just arm and disarm it from my phone. The system is working great. It’s really convenient. I ended up getting the more computerized-looking pad, like a laptop. I spent the extra money and I’m really happy with that. Overall, I can’t say enough good about ADT and the techs that came out.

I've seen ADT signs around and when the salesperson called, he said they would give me all these credits for the equipment. When he got here, I told him what I wanted then he told me I would have to make these huge payments until it was paid for. I figured I would pay for the equipment throughout my three years, but that was not how it worked. I had to have it paid for within four months and I wasn't told that. My monthly installments would've been $600 and that was not going to work. Once the installer got done, he talked about how much I had to pay over so many months, but I thought it would be over the term of my contract. I just purchased a new place, and $2,000 was not an option at that moment.
I ended up paying the 100 something to get the system in the house, but I felt misled on that situation by the salesperson at the beginning. Still, the installer was great. He was on point and helped me out as much as he could to get what I've gotten. I like the system, but I would definitely have liked to add some more things to it without a big blimp payment to do it. However, if that's the way it works, then there's nothing I can do about it. Also, I have the app downloaded to my phone, which is nice. I can set the alarm and deactivate it when I get home. When I would set my alarm off, they would call me and they are very responsive. When they call though, they need to ask for a passcode and if you give them the wrong one, they need to send the cops.
When I got home one day, I went in my garage and I set the alarm off. Once I figured out that my alarm was going off, I ran up to the house and deactivated it with my main controller. Someone from the company called me, but it was a little funny how that worked. She said I deactivated the alarm by my main controller and asked if everything was okay. I told her what had happened, then she said okay and that was it. I wasn't even asked to give a passcode. What if somebody was standing here with a gun to my head? Of course, I'm going to tell them everything was okay, but if something was going on, there should be a word or a phrase that alerts them without alerting the thief or whoever it is that the cops are on their way.

I went online and looked for a security system. I saw ADT's number so I called them. Everybody else wanted our credit card information over the phone. ADT is the only one that didn’t. Their rep was really nice. She was really professional and she helped us out quite a bit. She made me feel comfortable talking to her on the phone. We do have one problem though. Our back camera, at night time, we can’t see anything on it. But we’re pretty satisfied with the performance of the system.

Since the second day, I called ADT and complained that they never told me about whether it was a refund policy. Also, the outside ring that has a camera hasn't been working since the third day. They never told me that whenever the technician that will come, they would charge me more than the 100 that they charged me in the call. They never told me that I would end up paying like $600. They said it was not even $50. Overall everything is not really worth the money.
I requested to have a refund and for them to take out the service but they refused to do it because according to them, when I called, it was already the fourth day so I’m stuck with it for the next three years. They’re just bringing somebody to get the ring and give me partial refund for the installation fee and that’s it. Also, they should make sure their technicians wear a mask because the one that went to the home to put everything never wore a mask. I have a baby at home so it was a little uncomfortable as well.

Our experience with ADT is good. The rep was wonderful and patient. He was not trying to push me to buy what I did not need. Even when I wasn't going to sign up, he was not trying to be resisting. I've had ADT before. I had an experience that they were reliable. Hopefully, I'll have the same thing. However, I've been waiting for the $100 gift card. I needed some copy of the page of the contract which I didn't have access to. I just called in yesterday. Why do we have to do all of that? It could be done electronically.

Whenever I asked a question, the guy who set up the appointment pretty much said, “They'll talk about it when they get there.” He also told us pricing points that the guy that installed the system didn't have access to. He told us what the rates were, starting from 29.99. When I talked to our installer about that, he said, "That doesn't exist. It's only 59.99 a month," which doesn't make a lot of sense to us. We've been paying more than we thought we would. My mom has everything exactly the same that we have, with the exception of the Ring doorbell and she pays $20 a month less than we do. I'm not really thrilled about that, but at this point, it's a little late and we're just out of luck. The installer was super nice though.

I’ve used ADT over the years and decided to continue. The customer service this time around was superb. They had the answers and were cooperative. They were willing to work with me to figure out what I needed. The reps who did the installation were a supervisor and a trainee and they were good. The appointment was at 3:00 and they were very prompt. They had to assess, look, check the house out, assess, and present me with options before starting the installation, so that took a little bit of time. They were here till about 6:00. I was very pleased.

There were a lot of things ADT's salesman didn't mention. When I asked about their system, they just talked about the monthly fees. They didn't mention the equipment or how their system works. The guy who installed was more experienced and explained more details for me. He told me how I was gonna be charged and what options I had. He told me how the system works.

My friend has ADT and I always wanted to try it, so when I had a chance, I did it. The sales rep was awesome. He knows his stuff and I could tell he loves what he does. He opened the book, gave me a lesson and every time he put something up, he explained it very carefully. He showed me what each camera does and I love it. If more people got it, it'd be much cheaper. It's so many things that it's important for and I don't know why people don't get it. They get cable, and they should also get security for their house, know who's around them and what's going on around them, especially during this police reform thing. I'd pay anything for my own safety and it's worth every penny. I'm more comfortable now.
My dogs don't bark anymore because the phone makes a noise, so I don't have to run to the window. I really enjoy it and I feel safe. I'll be moving on the 1st and I can't wait to bring my cameras over there. We're supposed to put three things in. The guy put in the fire alarm and I don't need that because the house I'm moving to already has that over there and they have a monoxide too. He can give me another camera instead. All in all, I would definitely recommend ADT. In where I'll move to, I bet I can get a few people to sign up.
I'm going to tell them they can watch what their kids are doing. They can see what happened if there was danger. They can rewind the footage and they can check out what happened so they'll know what to do. I'm disabled, so if I fall, I'll have how I fell on tape and I'll know what I need to do. Also, I don't like it when someone minds my business and if the maintenance man comes to my house to mind my business, that's for them too. So, I hope they know that. That will deter them from coming into my house when I'm not home. They know you're not home and they go right in your house. They do it all the time.

I had ADT in my business when I was in California. The customer service is excellent because my brother won't take his fob out of his pocket and he continuously sets off false alarms, and up to now, ADT has been super great about it. Finally, I took it away from him and hung it on his key ring. The system is sufficient for what I need. Everything seems to be working fine. The service is great and the price is fair.

I was a previous homeowner a few years ago and I had ADT service at the time. I recently purchased a new home and received ADT's brochure in the mail, which I had already intended on contacting. The sales representative was excellent, very knowledgeable and easy to get along with. We had a really good conversation. He was here for a considerable amount of time negotiating and then finally getting around to install and stuff. He was a really good guy and a really good salesman.
The rep finished installing the system on the same day. I wasn’t able to get the sign the same day because of his supply. But he put me down for his route. Two days later, he had installs out, which was in this route. So, he sent me a text message and let me know that I could get the sign. The system is working pretty well and I’m happy with it. I like the fact that I know my home is being monitored and if any unforeseen events happen, at least I can get some type of response from the monitoring service.

When ADT advertised, initially, they said they give you the equipment for free or something like that, but once they come in and look at your house and figure out where the entry points are and what needs to be covered, the promotion did not cover everything. I had to pay another $300 to $400 out of my pocket to get all the exits covered in a certain way so it's kinda safe. I was not happy as I was expecting it to be free, but I had to pay $400. And I heard the same thing about others in my community who’s used them that they had to pay quite a bit, too. I wish they're a little more forthcoming about the promotion. So far ADT has been pretty good. However one sensor on the front door stopped working after a few months. And they came in and replaced it right away without any charge to me. It's been fine since then. So, overall, everything else is working fine. The system is pretty straightforward.

I worked with one of the other providers before and I wasn’t satisfied. The next one I called was ADT and they satisfied my need. I’m the least mechanically and electronically savvy person on earth and there are still things that I don’t understand, but they are very good when I call them. When I have a problem, they walk me through it. I had a problem with one repairman and when I called, I asked not to send the guy because I won’t deal with him again. He was so ridiculous. The first time he came out, it was a summer day and my son-in-law was putting asphalt seal on my driveway. I said that he couldn't come into my driveway. I asked him to walk up my lawn and he got upset about it. My whole lot is 200 feet deep and about 40 feet in the front. I was not asking him to walk 100 miles.
When he kept asking me about the stuff, I said that I didn't know what I was doing and that I just knew it didn't work. I said that was his problem. He had no patience with me whatsoever. The next time he came out, it was the same way. He would gruff and as far as I’m concerned, he didn’t really complete the job. I had one thing, that the battery was dead. It was all put in at the same time. I'm not an electronic expert, but if you come to our home with the several monitors in it and they’re all put in the same time, you’d check the other ones. He didn’t and I had to have multiple people back out after. The guy who is really nice is Tim. I asked if I could have him and said that I'd wait another day. They sent him, which was fine.

I almost cancelled ADT but then the person that came to my house helped me a lot to get what I wanted. He explained to me every detail for the alarm, the benefits, and that in reality, what they wanted was for me to be happy with what I get and accept what I wanna accept. The thing was that I couldn't afford it. I had Vivint before. I was paying $65 a month. So, when the young lady talked to me on the phone, she told me that it was gonna be $27. When the guy came to the house, he said it was gonna be 60. I told him, "What happened? I can cancel it because I can't do this." Then he said, "Oh, you don't have to cancel it. We can talk about it and work our way around it. And I'll call my manager and we'll see what we can get just 'cause we wanna get you secured." He figured that out. We talked, put everything in place, and everything is good.

We went online looking for home security companies and ADT was a company we were interested in. We were referred to Protect Your Home because they are the local provider for ADT in our area. We got all the information we needed from the salespeople and their customer service people have been fine as well. But we have an older home that needs some extra things before they can get everything fully installed. And there are issues with the company not having adequate staff to come back a second time to do the installation. When someone is scheduled to come, we would get a call that says they don't have anybody in our area that's available to do it and that they would have to do it another day. It's an ongoing thing. But overall, the system is working the way we wanted it to. And their phone support has been fine. They do the best they can to walk us through what they can over the phone.

I like the visual display they have now and the fact that you can get to a panic button. I like all the other things that you can do with it now. I like the whole deal. However, when they hooked it up, it wasn't done right. They had to call the technician back out several days later. Then I used the wrong credit card. So, I went on their site and corrected the two months in advance they wanted. But I have some dispute with the installation. It was supposed to be free, and the only thing I had to pay for was equipment. But now, they're trying to lump the installation equipment into a larger value. I'm not happy right at the moment.

We called the number of ADT that we saw in a flyer and spoke to a gentleman on the phone for about 25 minutes. It went pretty well. We decided to get the free estimate or the quote. And then the technician came by, reiterated the same information and we agreed to install. They tried to remove any existing hardware that may not have been needed but based on the configuration in the home already, some of that was possible and some were not. They communicated well and worked pretty quickly.
But one thing that could’ve been improved is that the gentleman working with our system wasn’t well-versed in the specifics of the system in terms of arming and disarming. There were some other systems he was working with, so it would've been like the second one that he installed but he had to call in for some help and struggled. I think it’s because he wasn’t familiar with it. He could’ve read up before coming over.

He said he didn't have any other appointment scheduled, so he could wait.
I like the Pulse app where I could look at my doors and stuff from my phone. I look at the cameras and look at the recordings and see if anything has happened while I've been gone. And I like the feature of being able to talk through the doorbell if someone's at my door and I'm not there. But the prices could be lower. When I called to set up our services, they said we'd get free cameras and all in that, but when the technician came out, he was stating that I had to pay all this extra $250 in order to get that. I said it was not what I was told on the phone. I wasn't too happy about it. But overall, the system was okay.
I need to call ADT 'cause when they came and put our alarm in, they put the sensor to where the air conditioner is. When I took the air conditioner out the window, it was not matching. It's telling me that the window is open when it's really closed. When I close it, it's telling me that the sensor is not active and that I need to close the window.

One of my buddies in my work recommended ADT to me because I was a new homeowner and I was looking for a security system. I didn't know where I was moving into and I needed this to back me up until I got to know the area. My buddy told me to just go ahead and do it. The only thing left out to do was jot down a contract. I was like, “I'll take my chances on it for now.”
I was getting everything remodeled in the house and I had my guy working at the house at that time. He dealt with the dude that came over and did the installation of the security system. The system is of good quality and I like it. But at the same time, it sucks. If for example if my alarm goes off right now and the reps would call me to ask if I'd want them to send out a police unit, I'd tell them to go ahead and do that. But the cops wouldn't get to my house until two or three hours later. The way I see it is this is just pretty much an alarm to go off. It only takes a robber about a couple of minutes to get what he wants. If I get the cops shows up in two or three hours, then the robber would have already gone by that time.
I'm paying monthly payments for this then the company gets the cops to come out. It just needs a false alarm and they come out. The second time they come, they would charge me. If the alarm goes off then I'm like, “Did the wind just blow open my door? Should I have them call the cops and pay that bill or risk it?” The last time the reps called, I told them to send the unit out. But when I got there, they were just walking up the same as I was. I was like, “You're only getting here now?”

The system doesn’t seem to be working. It doesn’t recognize the fire alarm. I contacted ADT twice on the issue and they sent somebody out. The people couldn’t tell me where my battery was located and I finally found my battery. It didn’t seem like they were very helpful to me. They take my money month in and month out and I use their sign as protection ‘cause their system isn’t the greatest. But the ADT at my other house was a lot more efficient and pretty good at sending me alert. They call me and they tell me the smoke alarm is going off or there's something that’s open.

It was the gentleman from ADT calling into the phone line that was the problem, and it wasn't his fault. The phone line was acting really weird. The customer service was very informative. The questions I had, they answered right away and they were really knowledgeable about everything. They were also offering a $100 rebate on the installation and I had to fill out a form. That should have been done by them.
I had two houses done in the same week, a cottage at the lake and the house I live in. The installation took about three hours. The installeers laid everything out and discussed what options I wanted. Both of them were very knowledgeable. They suggested different things and I picked what I wanted. They figured everything out before and then wrote it all up and told me what it would cost before they even started putting anything in. I had a hardwired system in my other house years ago. So the ADT system was pretty cool the way it went in. It was all wireless and everything seemed fine, so far.

Overall, they were the same things but they were a bit older equipment. We ended up getting the sensors that we had last time. In our old home, we had a bunch more sensors for the same price, and with this one, Protect Your Home said there weren’t as many sensors being provided because the promotion wasn’t the same. So we had to figure out what to cut out of the package. In the past, we had like 21 windows but with this one, they were only giving us 12. The installation went pretty smooth. I said, "I don't know if it's cheaper to go without or not." They said they could definitely set me up. They said they had a bundle package and that it would be cheaper. The ADT system is all right, except I wonder why when I open up the other doors, there's no ring chime on the alarm. There's a chime that goes off sometimes and it wasn't set up that way.
The rep came in from St. Louis and hooked it up. He was all right. He seemed like he was just in a hurry though. I thought the one that I had servicing me at the other house was better than this one that came out. This rep just ran through it real quick. He just said, "When you get your WiFi, call me again. I'll come out and set that." But, when I go out the door, it doesn't make a chime. I have two daughters, one that lives four doors down and one that lives two doors down, and they both have it. The information was a little bit different than what we received from the person who came to our house the first time. So that kind of threw us off a little bit. It was a different experience than we anticipated by what was told to us on the phone. Several times I asked the question about the installer fee and was there going to be any additional fees required other than the $99 installation fee. The rep said, "No." He was very adamant that there was not going to be any additional charges. But then, there was a lot more than that.
They transferred me to another specialist who told me all of this information about ADT. I told him that I needed to talk with my husband and that we didn't know if this was what we wanna do. He said, “Oh, yeah, absolutely. That's not a problem. We'll just send somebody out to your home, and then, he can talk with you more about what questions you might have and see if that’s something that you would like to pursue and move forward with.” I was okay with that.
When the gentlemen who first came out got here, he was ready to install. He didn't even know that we still needed more information and wanted to discuss further about even going forward with it. So nobody seemed to be on the same page. We were kind of thrown off. There was some miscommunication or lack of communication in there somewhere along the way. We had somebody come out today to finish the installation process because he couldn't finish the day that he came out here. It got to be late into the evening and it was raining so he didn't install the cameras outside.
I made the call to reschedule the rest of the installation and we set up an appointment. And then, I received a callback the the evening before saying that I had to reschedule, which was fine. But it was kind of hard between my husband and I trying to coordinate a time with our schedule. When the original guy came out, he arrived at the end of the timeframe that we were given and nobody called. But for today's appointment, it was nice because the gentleman called us to let us know. And that was what I was told over the phone. They said, “Someone will give you a call beforehand,” which makes it nice, especially if you're working. We've gotten a lot more information from the guy today. He was a lot more explanatory with everything, and things make a lot more sense today than they did the other day.

I was a little disappointed because whenever I called to make the arrangements, the person at the other end never told me that it was a three-year contract. If she would’ve told me it was a three-year contract, I would’ve never done it. I wasn’t told until after the technician came in. That should be right ahead. Whenever you call the number to have everything set up, they should make you aware that it’s going to be a three-year contract because I expected a one-year contract.
The technician came in and set everything up. And then when he went over the contract at the end, he said, “This is a three-year contract.” I said, “Wait a minute. That wasn’t told that it was a three – I thought it was for a year.” “No, no. It’s only three-year contract.” And then I said, “Man, if I would’ve known it was gonna be three-year contract, I would’ve never done it.” So then, he went, “If you’re not gonna want it, I’m gonna have to take everything off.” And I said, “Hell, I’m not gonna make you take everything off.” It took him a couple hours to install everything. So, I said, “Hell, so I guess it is what it is.” If I would’ve known, I wouldn’t have done it. I would’ve figured something else out. Other than that right, the system looks all right. So far, I’m happy with it.

In a nutshell - installation went ok, never had an issue with monitoring but, the way in which the system's installed is COMPLETELY different than I was told. I live in a rental and SPECIFICALLY told the installer that materials like a 3M EASILY REMOVED product HAD to be used. In fact, during installation I questioned what he was using as it looked more permanent than a 3M type product. He ASSURED me it would be easily removed. Now 2 years later, in TRYING to remove the pieces of the system from the wall, doing so is causing MAJOR drywall damage!! In NO WAY are the sticky straps anything like we discussed. So unless you want to spend time (and money) fixing the damage or, have it impact your security deposit, I would not recommend ADT for a property you're renting.

My home doesn't have anything. The system is just for in case emergency. I don't go anywhere. I'm living at home. I got their number from the website so I called them for questions. I built my own. And then I was asking him just anybody electronic and in installing, they can charge me one time. They took my number and everything, and then, "Do this. This one is good." They forced to me to do it. And it's not my interest. That was the main thing.
However, we are not very happy. The system is sometimes not working. First of all, the image is not clear. The second one, it's not recording all the time, and the third one also. At night, the one camera is freezing and the other camera is off. Also, the recording one time went off. And even when I test it, it goes out. And when coming in, it records, but when going out, it doesn't. I don't know what has been going on and we are trying to call Protect Your Home today. One time, this other day, the installer called. He came back. He installed another second one. Still we're not happy. It's not good.
Protect Your Home called us last week, and they told us we have a deal 500. That's not our issue. The guy, when he installed, within three days, it is off two times. "That is our mistake," the guy said, when he came the second time. And then, they called us. They said, "We have to charge you $500." That's not really good. That's not our mistake, and then we don't have to get charged with that.
We canceled before the three days. We faxed everything back to the company the second day. But still they came in, they saw and put in an extra one motion detector and then two cameras, but they're not working. And then, they charged me extra. The guy told us the first time 450 plus. Then this month is free, June 23 only the first payment, he said. And in June, they charged us an extra 500. They said, "You have to pay for the police." Why? You don't pay for that. I have to call the main company because there is a lot fouls and charges. Plus, it's the waiting and waiting.

I also wanted to expand my service and have some things added and they said they would give me a big credit for that so that would probably end up free. It ended up costing $1,300. It was quite a big difference from free. I spoke with the installers about that and they said that that was always a problem for them. They’d come out and the story would be totally different from what people had been promised on the phone.
Also, I couldn’t work something out with the first guy that came out. I kept trying to tell him what I wanted and he kept not understanding and tried to sell me other stuff. We bought a new house, and I needed a security system and got ADT. I like their sign-up deals. We got some free cameras for signing up. The unit is really easy to use. I've never had to call and ask for anything and if I go onto the website for support, I can find my answers there. But if there's a hardware question, I go back to the local installer to inquire about it.
With ADT, I really like that I can see the cameras on the app on the phone. I've had some in the past, but we had to go to their website to view it versus being able to view it within the app. However, I would like to see ADT get more into the IoT realm of full home automation, much like Nest is in that space already. ADT's core is security, but the panel can do more things like the Samsung help. It can interact with all different things and create triggers and automation. Where the automation on the panels ADT provides is very limited. If they're not limited, they're really locked down in the sense that, I need an installer code to add devices. So, it keeps me having to go back to the dealer to get their things.

Protect Your Home was easy to work with when they were trying to sell us the product. But when we were trying to get ahold of somebody with issues, I was getting transferred all over the place. No one wanted to help and they didn't know what I was talking about. The installer installed all of the windows and doors but our sliding door has two doors that open and he left one of the doors without an alarm, which is like one of the main doors to come in. We asked him about that and he said we don't need it. He said he installed the alarm on the door that's the main side. But if someone wants to come through the other side, it's not gonna ring the alarm, so there's a space within our house that’s open to people coming in without us knowing. He didn't inform us of that at all.
They had to come back out and install another alarm and we had to pay almost $200 for that. That was kinda frustrating because that's not something we do every day. That's something that the installer should have known. If they're gonna have professionals come out, they should make sure they're knowledgeable and know what they're doing, instead of the customer having to figure it out on their own because some people might not figure it out. It’s worthless to pay for a system every month that isn't completely protecting the house.

When we decided to put security in the house, ADT is a known name so we just decided to go with them. So far, the customer service has been very responsive. When we get into the house and forget that we have the security on, they always call you on the phone to try to find out if I was aware of this or that, and when there is trouble signal beeping, you call them and they’re always very responsive to fix it.
However, they didn’t give me a camera. There was a promotion that went on right then, and I told them, “Well, I just signed up a couple of weeks, and you guys are doing this. Am I entitled to this?” They wanted me to pay something to get it. I wasn’t happy about that. Also, compared to what others are charging, ADT's monthly is very high. I used that for a while, and I downgraded. So, if I want to lock the house up, I have to physically go to the device to lock it. I don’t do that on the phone anymore. I took that option off in order to reduce what I pay monthly. But other than that, it’s great. I like the fact that when someone opens up the house without turning off the alarm system, your phone starts ringing immediately, showing that their monitoring team is doing a good job.

It wasn’t the greatest experience in the world but it really wasn’t their fault. It was a brand-new company that was taken over by ADT. So, the installer was not familiar with the system and there were questions that he wasn’t sure about. But I called and I got the answers I needed. They were available when I had some questions and it all worked out okay. So far, the system has been good and relatively easy to use and I’ve been happy.

The fellow that came to install the system was very competent, very courteous and friendly. But he was a little surprised because nobody had told him the scope of work. When I made the appointment for him to come out, nobody asked me how big my house was. So when he arrived, he was planning on it being a fairly short straightforward job but I have a really big house. So he was here for a long time. It was all day, from 9:00 until about 5:30. He didn’t complain about it at all, although he did say at one point that he thought he was gonna have the afternoon to do something else. It's not a complaint on my part either but maybe a suggestion for the people who book the appointments to ask that question. Nonetheless, the technician did a great job and so far, I like the system fine.

The individual was very informative and he got us set up in a decent amount of time. For the most part, we know that monitoring is there.

I never heard of Protect Your Home, the whole logo thing. On the other hand, I’m very familiar with ADT. It’s something that I’ve come across advertisements and I see that a lot in the neighborhood. So, it’s just one of those things that stick in your mind. There are a lot of companies out there right now but it’s all about credibility. That is what lured me towards going with ADT. The technician that was here was absolutely professional. So, as far as the equipment, the placement, explaining to me how the system works, it was plain and simple. It was very clear. The quality, for what I need, everything works fine. It’s not like I own a bank or a business. It provides me the stuff that I need for my home, for my family.

We had ADT from San Francisco for a long time and then we moved to Las Vegas. We continued the system and we had to install the panels. They were installing it at the time we were moving. It was not a convenient time because the guy was installing it and our furnitures are coming in. Then there were some problems that I had a lot of questions about and it wasn't answered. I called the office and then a senior ADT installer came. I was happy with the way he explained things to me. I like the security measure where I press "away" when I leave the house. Then I come back and I press my code. I'm happy with that.

We had an ADT contractor who was a good guy. He broke everything down for us as far as the camera prices, where we could put our camera and things of that nature. He showed me and my wife how to use the system as well as doing it on our phone. He showed everything. But we had a technical difficulty a couple of weeks ago because the garage wasn't setting. The house was setting though. Every time we set the house, the garage would still come up.
We called a technician to come out. We found that the guy before who came out to set up the sensors in our garage wound up putting too much molding around the sensors. That was causing the problem with the connection. But the guy that came out a couple of weeks ago wound up taking all that molding off making sure the connection was better. From that point on, everything has been all right. ADT has been on point so far. I gave everybody a call that we know to go down there. The guardian people come out when an alarm goes off and there's somebody calling you. They come to your home. ADT has been excellent so far and the performance has been great. Keep up the good work.

I looked into other companies and ADT was cheaper. But I’m not really too happy with them. The guy I dealt with was really nice. It’s mainly just what I got for the price. When we set it up, I thought we’re gonna have the sensors on all the windows. There is one in each room for my kids' window. But there are five windows in the living room and the kitchen, and none of them have a sensor. When the guy had started putting the sensors up, the locations were those. So I was kinda confused but I didn’t wanna be like, “Well, you know, never mind.” So I let him finish. But I don’t even feel safe. It’s really pointless to have the system. But I wish the stuff really works. If I get senors, the cost is so much pricier and I’m already paying enough for the service.

The installation of our security system was great but Protect Your Home lied to me on several different things. Initially, I called different companies then I called ADT several times. I was led to Defenders and I got their information, then I called back several times. It was a two-day process and when they came out, they lied to me about the price. I knew that they have pressure sales and I was used to all that. I was okay with that, too. But for them to flat-out lie is a problem and it left a very bad taste in my mouth for ADT. I’m sure I verified the rates several times and I was told that for the first two years, the rate was 27.99. But, it actually wasn't and instead, it would be 19.99 then 39 or something for the next two years. In the end, I stuck with the higher bill because I was there and to go to the 19.99 rate would've cost me about the same over a three-year period. But I’m still not happy with what they did.

ADT has a good reputation. Their sales reps were very professional. The installers were wonderful too. One guy was named Albert and the other guy was Evan, and they were really good. They explained everything to me and were very kind. They came back out and helped me with a problem when the corporate wouldn’t. However, I’m a little confused with the system because I’m not very high-tech. The little thing that goes around the neck for an emergency, which I need one because I have cancer, sets the system off sometimes. So, lately, I haven't been arming it, but I plan to arm it today to see if it sets it off again.

The previous system I had gone out of business and ADT happened to be running a special and that's why I called them. The customer service is sometimes good, sometimes not so much. Recently, I called them with an issue and I had a CO2 monitor that was beeping and something that the homeowner wasn't able to take care of herself. The person that I got on the phone said that I could do it and they would guide me through and sent me out to buy a $25 battery. When I got back home and I called them back, they said that I couldn't do that. It has to be a technician. They sent a technician and that took about seven days for him to get out of here. When he came he asked me why I bought the $25 battery because it only took regular little AAAs.
It happened to me again about two weeks ago. I had a smoke detector that was going off and I called ADT. The lady told me it needed a $13 battery and I went out and got that. My son actually came out and figured out how to take this one down and put it in. He asked me why I bought the expensive battery because again, it was just the three AAAs. ADT should train their customer service on what the equipment is. They were also very expensive. I found out that other companies were offering the exact same thing for less money. When I called to cancel, after switching me around to four different people, they somehow miraculously were able to cut my bill in half so that I wouldn't cancel. Now, I have a contract with them, so I'm kinda stuck with them for the next year. Do not go with ADT.

I like the remote control to trigger the system from like the car. I like being able to put the alarm on when we leave on vacation. When we set it up, I like being able to access it online. When I forget how to turn it to silent mode, I can Google it and then it pops up on how to do it. So I like that too. But one of the features I had asked about was whether or not they could assign different codes to people. I thought that was a feature because that’s what I had with my other one, where you could put people in and then take them back out as you need it to like housekeeping. But I’ve never used it because I ended up giving them a key and then I just changed all the locks once we got the work done that we needed. The other thing that I like is that we could add on stuff to it later.

And if I wanna take it out, I can do it on the remote rather than put my code on the monitor itself. It was at night and I pressed the button of the security phone to stay at home but I don’t think that worked because my cousin opened the door in the morning and nothing happened. I didn’t understand. I was even gonna call because I didn’t wanna try it because I didn’t wanna put any alarms or anything.
I was with Xfinity but I felt the security wasn’t tight enough. It would alert me that somebody opened the door but the only thing was that they would not call to know what happened. But with ADT, the alarm didn’t even go off, so how would they call me when my alarm is not even working? Also, I don't know what's going on with my money that they said they were gonna send back as a gift card. I got ADT because of the flyer that came in the mail and my aunt also recommended them. But now that I’ve gotten the service the flyer is misleading because the original starting price was supposed to be 27.99. I didn’t see anything offered for 27.99. I was told that it was gonna be 40 something and up. And also the flyer tells that I'm gonna get the alarm itself, the sensors for the front and backdoor and it also said that I'm gonna get a remote control. And I did get a remote control and a doorbell camera. I was also supposed to get a surveillance camera.
I had expressed over the phone when I first called them that I wanted all my windows to get sensors, but I was told that ADT did a survey of some type and found that there was no need to put a sensor on all my windows because what they offered now would be one sensor that detects glass breaking. But the key to getting the surveillance camera and the doorbell camera was there was an extra charge of $299. I left one system going to a new system. The system that I left from had given me a smoke detector so I asked them about getting the smoke detector. So, the bottom line is, by the time I got the things that I need with ADT my bill was up to 1000 and something dollars.
I also didn’t want to have that glass breaking sensor because I told the tech, “Well, if I’m in the house washing dishes and I have to drop something, or somebody drops something and it sounds like glass my alarm is gonna go off.” And he said, “Yes.” And he said, “But you can just turn it right off. The police won’t be coming because if you turn it off immediately, you won’t have any problems.” I said, "I like the idea of having the sensors on my windows itself. Whichever window they’re gonna try to attempt to come through, the system will let me know which window it was.”
I was more comfortable with having the sensors on each window so I had to pay for that. By the time I finished my bill was not 27.99. My monthly payment is 53 something. In the last two weeks, they’ve also had flyers coming in through the weekly circular for the markets. Now, they’re offering the 12 sensors for your windows. I was like, “I couldn’t get them.” I had to pay for mine. I was gonna call them and then say to them, “I think you owe me a refund. Because it’s been less than a month and you’re now advertising those 12 sensors. And when I got mine, I was told they weren’t being offered.”
Now, the tech himself did a beautiful job. He did exactly what was meant for him to do because he came out with the listing of what I was supposed to get based on my initial call-in. He had to call back to the main office to find out if I qualify. And he also found out if he could give me some discounts because I turned down the surveillance camera and the doorbell camera. And because it was already offered on the flyer that I had, he said he had to call the office to see if they can give me a discount for one of the sensors that I wanted to put on my window. That’s how my bill got lowered because he called in, and they offered a discount because I was removing the two cameras from my package. But I ended up paying 400 and something dollars originally. I also called them back a week later because I found out that they had given me the main box downstairs.
I had a relative that came over that had access to my house and that particular day I was upstairs washing my hair and I had the blow dryer on. I didn’t know anyone had come into the house, and I had the alarm on. So he yelled up the steps and called me. When I heard him, I said, “Oh, my goodness. Somebody’s in the house.” So, I turned my hairdryer off, and I recognized the voice. It bothered me that I was in the house with the blow dryer running and didn’t hear the alarm. But I was able to disarm it before the police came.
I remembered that with my old system there was also a sensor put upstairs, which means that when I’m upstairs I can hear the alarm from upstairs. So, I had to call ADT back to see if they offered that particular sensor. And they did, but I had to pay for it. That cost me 100 and something dollars. So the tech came back and installed it upstairs. So now when anyone opens any door or any window within the house it’d be heard upstairs even if you have the TV on, or if you’re in the shower.

I called Protect Your Home for my mother-in-law for her house, and I explained to the agent what was happening. He told me there would be no problems. They just needed me to sign up so they could send the techs over there. But then when the tech got over there he said, “We’d be able to change name towards your mother-in-law.” I didn’t have her credit card at the time when I called it in.
So, I told him, “Okay. So, everything’s gonna go towards my mother-in-law and then I’ll get my money back?” He said, “It’d go back to your account. And then we’re just gonna charge your mother-in-law" because I told him I don’t want my name on it and I don’t wanna be charged for it. He said, “There’s no problem. We’ll take care of that." It didn’t happen. The account is under my name and so, every time there’s a problem, I get called for it and my mother-in-law doesn’t. She wants everything under her name. I’ve been following up because I had to call to get my $100 back too. I want everything under her name."
I love having Protect Your Home. They are very good. Any time I call, I get an appointment and the techs are at the house. Everything’s been fine except for my name. She wants her name on that account. Other than that, the installer was good. He explained everything. We live out in the country, and he explained to us that the quality of our cameras depends on the speed of our internet. We had techs come out and checked our internet and they said our internet’s kinda weak, so we already knew that.
Everything’s working fine. We just had some problem with the doorbell ringer. For some reason, the doorbell keeps coming off. It would go off at 8:00 PM and then again at 9:00 PM. And then the next couple of times, it would go off at 5:00 AM. My mother-in-law got used to it. She doesn’t have any problem with it. I love the system but ADT can offer better things in the package. Everything that they give you is kinda like the standard. I had ADT previously and what originally made me look at ADT this time was they were advertising the doorbell so I contacted them and set up for them to come out. During that call, they were showing me that the doorbell was more of an upgrade for previous customers who already had the service and needed to upgrade. The little keychain was good but I ended up not getting one because I used that money to get another sensor on the door, but I still ended up paying for another one. It would help if they gave more sensors, a more updated keypad, and better features. I’m not happy with ADT. I was happy at first. They told me that my bill would be $27.08 but they did not tell me that I needed a landline. Their rep came in and did all the stuff that he was supposed to do. After I had signed the papers and I said, “So, it’s 27.08, right,” he said, “No, it’s 50 something.” I said, “Why?” He said, “It’s 27 if you get a landline.” For me to get a landline, the cable company wants to take my contract away and we’ll do a new contract, and my bill is gonna go up $45. Then I’d be under another contract and I don’t want another contract. He should have told me the price without the phone line before I signed the papers.
I now have a contract and I’m paying about $50. I wasn’t looking for that. I would’ve just went to SimpliSafe and got my own stuff but it was 27.08 with ADT that was why I’d take it. I told the rep, “That’s how y’all get people in contract. Y’all rip people off. You don’t tell people ahead of time. You got the price on there that we think we’re gonna get. Then you come in and say, ‘Oh, you need a phone line to do it.’ And you install the stuff first before you even do paperwork.” That’s not right. I’m gonna call the Better Business Bureau and tell them that that’s what they’ve been doing. They’re doing it to everybody. New people get locked in to their contract because they didn’t tell them ahead of time, “No, it’s not 27.08 unless you got a home phone.” People don’t have home phones anymore. We got cellphones.
I was complaining to a friend of mine and she’s partially blind, and she said, “Oh, yeah. I’m in a contract with $50 something and they didn’t tell me. They installed the stuff and they telling me I had a different price.” She also said, “Every time I call there, they transfer me to somebody else, so I just go ahead and pay it.” It’s a nice system but they don’t give people the chance to say, “Never mind ‘cause it cost too much.” I’m telling everybody to not to go to ADT. I’m scared to even call them because I misplaced the key fob and they’ll try to charge me $100 something for it. They tick me off.

I’ve known about ADT for a long time. My grandmother had them when I was a kid and I know that they've been out there for a while. They were also the only one we were really aware of at the time that we signed up with them. Our interaction with their sales reps was good and it met our expectations. They did well and they knew what they were talking about. We had a similar experience from their installers. They were professional and knew what they were doing. So far, the security part has been good, but the equipment broke down quicker than I would have expected. The Carbon Dioxide or Monoxide detector did not connect with the system fairly quickly after being installed, then the cameras were very spotty when they worked and when they did not work. All in all, ADT did what we signed up to do but some of the equipment didn’t work as we would’ve hoped.

ADT Protect Your Home's rep said that anything over $59 a month would get The Ring. We're paying $60 a month so I don't know why I didn't get that. If we get it, we would then have to pay $70 a month. That's too much money. Still, the installation of our system went well once we settled.

We got ADT for the reputation and the price. The sales representative was okay. However, he didn’t sell the smoke detector and he was trying to do the glass break. I prefer the smoke detector versus the glass break so he had to come back out to do that due to my homeowner’s insurance. It took him probably a day or so. It's a newly built home so some adjustments had to be done and the sensor thing on my back door came off. I stuck it back on there and they were supposed to be sending me one but it hasn’t come yet. So, the back door is not allowing me to the turn the alarm on. Hopefully, it’ll come in the mail.

I've had service with ADT for about six years. I like the service because I haven't had any problems. Everybody's been helpful, which is why I went back again. I like the features in my service package a lot. If I’m away and if I set the alarm by my phone, I don't have to worry about opening the door. To identify that somebody left like you set away, it's almost like you have to open the door to assume you're leaving. My wife and I stopped doing that. As we get in the bed, we just set the alarm by phone and it allows you to set it. Something else that the phone feature doesn't allow is for you to bypass certain sensors. You have to bypass with a keypad and then you could set the alarm by the phone. But it's not a big issue. My experience has been nothing short of excellent. I've seen the system work firsthand to where if I had a break or a shadow, the alarm would go off. I can see a notification so it's been good.

I have always gotten advertisements from ADT in the mail and they were the first ones that popped in my head when I started thinking about home security. I felt really good going through the process with their reps. When I initially talked to them on the phone, they had given me a pretty specific price. Then when he first got to the house, the price had changed significantly and it went way up. By the end of it, we got it back down. They could be better at being very clear on the cost upfront. The installation was easygoing. The contractor explained everything. He was very nice and professional.

I inquired with ADT about surveillance for a property. A salesman came and sold me their system. I could tell he has been with ADT for a while as he knew the ins and outs of their products. He broke things down for me and caught my attention. However, I wanted surveillance and instead I ended up with an alarm. Also, I wanted to able to arm my system while walking out the door. I want to be able to push a button and have the system give me x amount of seconds to exit the premises and then arm it. I can't do that with the door open. Still things are okay because I can arm the system from my cell phone. But then, sometimes I forget to arm my system. Regardless, I feel more secure with my system.

My bill comes out of my checking account but all of a sudden, it stopped. I called my bank and they said it wasn’t on their behalf, and ADT said it wasn’t on their behalf. So right now, I just get a bill and I put a money order in it and send it to them. Also, my sign that I had out front broke. I asked ADT for another and they said they couldn’t give me another one. Sometimes you get tired of going through the petty things with different people and you just like, “Forget it.” That’s probably what some of them want you to do anyway. Some of them act like they really care. Some of them act like they don’t give a damn one way or another. So, I just said, "I was planning on dropping it when my contract is up." And then he said that I called them and told them that I wanted to drop, and I know that I didn’t. Little things like that. They were all right, but one guy got a little testy.
The system seems all right. But where I live at and everything, it’s kind of a waste because I very seldom even turn it on and I got it because I get a discount on my homeowners insurance. I use it when I go out of town, which is very seldom. And who goes out of town now? There are probably just a few houses out here that do have the security system in their home because it’s a fairly decent area. I just pay the bill, and when the contract is done, I’m done.

They handled my questions well and were received professionally via phone. When the tech came out to make a presentation, I was obsessed of doing the installation of it from that same day because we were impressed with how he presented it. Even though there was a presentation made, I didn’t feel overwhelmed or pressured to buy. It wasn’t like the procedure of a used car salesman who would push you. He mentioned that if I wanted to think about it, they would come back later.

The ADT phone rep asked me what system I currently had on my home and if I was looking to change anything at that point, which I was. It was the reason why I was searching for a new company. They were very helpful with that and letting me know that they were gonna have all the equipment and everything ready when they sent the technician out. The installation was not what we expected though. The technician came out and he was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable, but he did not have all the equipment that I requested to be installed.
I was looking to do eight total and I was told that wouldn't be a problem. They would allow me to do up to eight or even up to 16 with the system. Plus, the monthly service fee for even the highest package that ADT offers was cheaper than what I was currently paying with the other company for my monthly fee. So, I was okay with paying the highest package that ADT had because it was still saving me almost $30 a month. When the technician came, they only had one camera and that upset me. I told them that I already had four cameras in place so, I was expecting at least those four to be replaced. When they did the installation, he said that they usually get about one to two cameras every week. He would give us a call and come out and install them, one by one, when they actually received them. So, I would be looking at four or five more weeks before the system is fully up and running with what I had originally requested.
Once the installation was done, I had one camera that was not even working when he left my home. I had to call back the following day to have another technician come out and replace the doorbell camera. I am still without all the cameras and I still only have one camera that's in place that they installed. I have one camera that my husband installed on the system and I still have six cameras that are not installed yet. This will be week three from when they installed. I called and I was told by the technician who came out to replace the doorbell camera that wasn't working the very next day. He told my husband and I that we could order ADT cameras, and he gave us the style number that we needed to order. We could order them ourselves and then, just call and have the technician come out and install them once we receive them.
That has been a struggle because once we did that and contacted ADT, we were told that they don't do that. Then, when we spoke with a manager, we were told that the manager would call us back. The manager was gonna set up to come out and install them for us but I never received a phone call from him at all. I ended up calling yesterday and spoke with customer care in regards to setting up that appointment to have someone come out and just install the cameras that we purchased. So, it’s been a back-and-forth. Now, I'm well over the three-day trial period of canceling with no fees. I'm locked-in to the three-year contract so I can't do anything. I have to stay with ADT at this point and I'm just fighting to get the equipment that I wanted originally in place.
I have cameras in my backyard for our pool and our back fence backs the main street. So, having the cameras in place is an extra added security for us because we have a park right behind us. So, even though I don't have kids in my home that I have to worry about, I worry about the kids at the park playing and possibly coming over the fence, or something happening. I have no cameras right now in my backyard that are working.

ADT was quite famous. When you think about home security, that's the first one that comes to mind. The rep from Protect Your Home was extremely friendly, customer oriented, very patient, and had a lot of time to answer questions that I had. However, there were not honest responses that I got from her, which I didn't find out until later. As far as phone etiquette, she was quite impressive.
The first installer was great and good at talking. He answered some questions quite honestly that the rep was very misleading about as far as what would be included. The one problem I had was him trying to get through to the connection of whoever he needed to call to get authorization. It was like a nightmare here in my home from 3:00 until close to 8:00 PM with all the installation. But the bulk of the time was taken up with him trying to get a service rep to assist him with completing the installation, which ran until darkness. This was new for me, so I was looking for someone to suggest to me where the placement of cameras should go and what I needed. He was very courteous, but he left holes and damage to my house. I could tell he was frustrated because he couldn't get through to the people he needed.
I liked the second guy that came out because after I told him what I wanted, he pointed out that the front camera was placed in the wrong positioning. I said, “I can't see who's at the front door.” So, the way the first installer placed it was of no benefit. The second guy said, “I'm going to move a few places. You look at it and you tell me if this is a view that will benefit you.” He moved it to the entire other end of the house, which was totally off what the first guy did. Also, he did his best to fill in the holes with what the first guy did. It's kind of shoddy because it doesn't match. It’s just kind of clear something just to clog up the hole so that bugs and bees could not get in. But he didn't leave until I was satisfied with the positioning. I like the system, but I felt like a senior that was taken advantage of. I wouldn't recommend ADT.

The process to get the service and to install it was pretty efficient. From the time we made the decision to the time installation, it was just about a week. The technician who install the system is very good, and I'm really happy with him. The only disappointment is the price, but we went along. I’m happy with the service. Service is good, but be aware of the price. You won’t get what you were told.

The rep was very helpful and informative. He covered all the bases and asked the right questions. I was pleased with him. The installation could have gone better as far as making sure the sensors are stuck to the actual window seal. I’ve had a few sensors fall off. I put them back up there and redid everything for my alarm. Other than that, everything has been working fine thus far.
I’m not too fond of the ADT Control app. I like the fact that there is an app, but I don’t like the setup of the app versus what we have with ADT Pulse. It was more user-friendly and it was easier to find the buttons that you’re looking for. It also had a larger visual display. ADT Control has more feature and I noticed that with it, I can set reminders. If I leave my house and the alarm is not set by 7 o’clock in the morning, I’ll get a reminder. I can then set the alarm from my phone. That’s a cool feature. Apart from that, I’m just getting used to it. I like the thought of my house being secured, which, to me, is the best thing.

I Googled home securities near me and ADT ended up calling my wife for some reason. I returned the call to one of their agents and they set things up. I have an account with ADT on my church. I was with HomePro and when that expired, I went to ADT because I liked the functionality of the system that I have in the church. The gentleman came out and we got it installed. He was new and rode around in a car. He didn't have a ladder that he might have needed. If I had said that I wanted to do the cameras, he couldn't have installed it because he didn't have a ladder to get that up. He also didn't explain what they had to offer. Being familiar with the system, I know I didn't want the basic keypad. I wanted the touchpad.
We ended up putting sensors on all of the windows and doors downstairs. If someone doesn't open the window, the sensor would never go off so if they just bust the glass out and come through that way, I'm not protected. My wife and granddaughter could be upstairs and somebody can come into the home by breaking out a window, and we wouldn't even know it. I remember him making a comment that it was better to do all sensors. I could have gotten the motion with the system and didn't have to do 13 of the entry point things and have been fine. However, he never gave me the option and that kinda rubbed me the wrong way. I also bought two cameras, which I didn't have any problems with.

Protect Your Home made me think I was getting a good deal which I had when I lived in Lancaster. It didn't cost me anything to get the system installed there and it was affordable. I really was just gonna have my service transfer. They should be upfront about the fee. But they made it seem like I was getting this fantastic service and I went with ADT. But if I have to do it over again, I won't do it with them.
When Protect Your Home came to install, it was a whole different issue. They wanted almost $4,000 and I told them that I wasn't going to pay $4,000 for the equipment. I ended up paying about 1200. When the guy installed it, he fried my doorbell 'cause I got the doorbell camera. I spoke to the rep from Protect Your Home, she said that they would send somebody out to fix it. I told them not to send the same guy 'cause he obviously didn't know how to fix it and I didn't need him burning down my house if he was out here. So, she sent another guy who told me that he couldn't fix it either. He said that I'd need an electrician.
I had to call an electrician to fix it and it was almost a month later before I could get the electrician here. I decided to cancel it because the electrician was gonna charge me almost $1300 to rewire the doorbell. The guys from Protect Your Home came out on the 13th and took some of the equipment. The supervisor and the installer said they would refund me the money and they called somebody. It was then verified that I was going to keep the service and that they were gonna give me a refund, but they were gonna take back some of their equipment. They took back the tablet, which I didn't need 'cause I had my phone. I've called twice about the refund and I still haven't received a refund. I finally have a doorbell but it's not by the ADT. It was by the electrician. I now also have the wall monitor, a motion detector, one carbon monoxide alarm, and one fire alarm.
