My mistakenly set the alarm while I was in the back room. I moved and the alarm went off. I cleared it at the panel. A call came in from ADT. She asked for my passcode. I did not remember it. She asked pertinent questions, which allowed her to know I was the homeowner. I was impressed with her questioning about our location and me.

Rarely have a problem but when I do it is handled in a fast and accurate way. Phone people and techs have been terrific. They explain everything in detail and make sure everything is working properly before they leave. I would highly recommend ADT to anyone seeking a security system.

I'm very pleased with my security equipment and monitoring service. ADT has great local service technicians who are very professional and knowledgeable. The only complaint I have is I accessed the website over a month ago to request someone to contact me regarding adding additional door sensors and I haven't been contacted by anyone yet. I could not find a local number to call or I would have called them.

When I built my home 17 years ago, we were able to pre-wire it for an ADT Security System. This system worked well for several years until I was swept away with a door-to-door salesman selling a "whizbango" security system. I was wowed by the video motion sensors and other "amazing" features. However, ever since installing the new system with a new vendor, in addition to having the monitoring service sold four times over roughly 7 years, the system had many failures. It seemed I had repairmen in my home all the time.
Finally, when the smoke detectors started to fail, I realized that the reliability of this system was a joke! Thinking back to how well the original ADT system had worked, I looked up the number of my local ADT representative and scheduled a meeting. Needless to say, I had all of the previous system removed and all of the previous ADT system reactivated, with much of it needing to be updated to current technology. Now, roughly six months in with my ADT system, I have had no problems of any kind, with everything working as it should. I am very happy with my ADT system and the reliability of it.

ADT does an excellent job monitoring our home. They are extremely quick in responding to alarm incidences. They contacted us while we were on vacation in Europe and our alarm had gone off. That is exemplary service!!! Going over and beyond the expectations. I have been with ADT for years and would not consider using any other monitoring company. #adtissecure.

We have found ADT a very reliable, customer friendly security system. We are looking for security cameras to place outside our front door and in our backyard to monitor who is ringing the doorbell or who is damaging our property around our house to assist the police department to find the people responsible for these actions. We did speak with ADT about this matter and find them more expensive than other companies. We have had ADT as our security for MANY YEARS AND WISH THEY OFFERED THEIR LONGTIME CUSTOMERS BETTER RATES FOR UPDATES!

The Sales Rep. was very professional and polite, he did not try to sell me more than I needed. He scheduled an appointment for the installer in the next day. The installer arrived on time and completed his work quickly. He showed me how to program the system and also installed the app on my smartphone. ADT contacted me to check out if the system was what I required and made sure that we knew the procedures on the system. I would recommend ADT to anyone that needed a security system.

The glass breakage alarms were so sensitive that my loud sneeze set them off resulting in an immediate call from ADT. The service tech (Scott?) came and reset them to be a little less sensitive. He also walked me through all procedures needed to use Ring and a surveillance camera. I am now 1400 miles away and feel comfortable knowing all is well.

Everything is now fine. However, we have been asking for a yard sign for years -- with service people and by phone. Still don't have one though everyone tells us they will take care of it. Otherwise we are pleased with our ADT service.

We have been a customer of ADT for seventeen years and have never had a problem with their response or billing. We have been lucky in that we have never needed to contact the fire department or the police department. ADT has responded each and every time we have set off the alarm unexpectedly. We appreciate their help and the peace of mind they give to us. We thank them very much.

Trouble sound was going off frequently. Tech arrived quickly to discover the system battery was dead; he installed new battery neatly & quickly - he explained everything to us - very nice man! He happened to come as the same time my plumbers were here, but there was no confusion... all went well. We love ADT!!

I called on 3 separate occasions for the exact same billing issue and nothing on my account was adjusted. Not once was I told that the credit would appear on my next billing cycle, but each time I was assured it would be handle promptly. A very simple explanation would have served better than telling me the matter would be attended to promptly. Do your reps not know policy and procedure? Apparently, they do not.

ADT was and is responsive - with false alarms, testing and responsiveness to upgrade adding cellular adapter when they changed systems (unknowing shut down of system here) for a fair price ($100 and small income ease to bill). I now would like to see a deal on outside camera upgrade now that I have the cellular in place! As a senior it would mean a lot to have that discounted!

ADT provides great service as well as customer service. They are usually able and available to resolve my issues/concerns by phone. But if a technician is needed to come out, they try to have someone come out in a reasonable amount of time. The price of service is also affordable and great.

When my backup battery died, ADT replaced it. We had a panel that was so old ADT techs did not have documentation. ADT replaced my panel. Other than that, we have not had to contact ADT because everything works fine since 1998.

Would recommend ADT to anyone seeking a reliable home security system - customer service is prompt and they explain the reason for their call and how to improve use of system - I need the knowledge that the local law enforcement will be called rather than going through a third party before the authorities are contacted.

My experience with ADT has been pretty simple. I turn the system on, and it works as promised. I post a number of ADT signs and stickers around our locaton to let anyone who might think about breaking in know we are protected, and we have had no break in here. ADT has good customer service and tech support to give infomation and answer questions. The few times that the alarm has gone off was when I accidentally set it off! I'm happy with the experience.

Having this system in my home makes me feel secure. Knowing my home is being monitored when I am away and at night when I am sleeping eases my anxiety. I live next to a vacant house and the security system makes me feel safer.

We have been satisfied with system. However it has been ten years + since it was installed. We have a bunch of extra coverage and it seems like ADT would review equipment to see that it was functioning properly. On the few occasions we have had false alarms response was satisfactory and it was old sensors that gave out. A preemptive maintenance check would have saved us all a little inconvenience.

Would not automatically sign us up like those online companies but had a person come out and answered all our questions. Person was very helpful, not pushy. Asked what worked for us. After installation person called back and asked if all was handled correctly.

Did not realize that payments were being taken without my knowledge. When installer came I emphasized that Mr. ** was in a nursing home and I would need statements sent regarding payments. He called someone and said it was not the policy of the company, but believe it could be done. However, Nov/Dec payments were taken and I did not notice it until time to make a payment at the nursing home and account was short. You had already taken $808.12 out of account. Upon calling ADT I got nowhere with each representative that I spoke to. Bottom line account has been closed so I am waiting for statement in regards to February payment. Thank you.

I have had the best service with ADT. I feel very safe and I trust ADT, they are always there when I need any help. I needed a new battery for my system and they walked me through the process of changing it. To me I couldn't do without my security system anymore. I am glad to have ADT.

After receiving a call, I was told of a device with a weak battery! I purchased the battery I was told was needed, but could not get the device off the wall. I agreed to the $25.00 fee to have the technician come to replace the battery. He had trouble getting the unit down too. The batteries needed was two “AA” not the kind I was told was needed (that was very expensive). I was not charged for his visit.

The ADT Pulse system was installed in my new home in 2016. I have the same system in 2 other homes I own and have used ADT for years with no problems. For the first 3 months after installation in the new home, the system would go "stupid" at times. During this period you could open doors, and/or walk around the house and the system would not recognize that an alarm should be sounded. However, since ADT repaired this initial installation problem (June-2016), I have had absolutely ZERO problems with the system since. It has worked during power outages, storms, ice and snow with no problems whatsoever. Great job, ADT!!

After all the billing issues & horrendous customer service, hopefully we have our account as it should be. As a customer service manager with one of the biggest wireless carriers I can say your customer service needs vast improvements... I was hung up on as well as lied to over and over. I have since spoken with a department that seems to care, unlike all those prior agents.

The company delivers on it promises of providing an extra layer of security. Like the price I was able to negotiate with them. Have an old (ancient) hard wired system. Cheaper to leave it in place and reduce my monthly rate than do a replacement.

The technician that installed the equipment was very knowledgeable about the system and how it works. He explained the different plans and the pros and cons for each and the costs allowing us to pick the best for us. After installing the equipment he went through different scenarios and the corrective actions for each. I am very pleased with the system.

ADT is the only one that could keep alarm system up. We have problems with lighting burning out motherboard. This happen about 5 times. Have not had any more problems after ADT took over. Their service is quick if you have problems.

I can actually sleep knowing I have the ADT system. My house was robbed and was a very scary experience for me. I could not sleep for days. I got the ADT system and feel comfortable enough to sleep. I always take my remote to bed where I know all I have to do is push a button.

Great service. Went in garage instead of front door and set alarm off. I think that if the alarm goes off from any other door or windows other than the front door just call the Police not the house phone.

I chose ADT to provide my home security service because of reputation. I’m totally satisfied with their products and service. My system was installed quickly and the installer was very professional in explaining my options for choosing the proper equipment. After the system was in place, he walked me through complete operation and made sure that I understood completely how to use the it. I hired ADT to protect my vacation home in 2009 and was pleased with their attention to detail. More recently I became concerned about unsavory people who had moved into my permanent home area and decided to add ADT to this house. The installer was extremely careful and chose to add more protection that has made me feel very secure.

I have never had a problem with ADT. They are always very courteous & helpful if I have to call them for anything. When my battery has gone out, they send me a new one free of charge that I can change out myself. I would definitely recommend them to friends.

I am happy with my alarm system. Glad I have never had to use it in any other way except to set the alarm and turn off the alarm. ADT has updated my units. They were 17 years old. The only thing I worry about is the window alarms as to if they are still working. ADT does a great job.

ADT is always helpful to resolve technical issues that my pop up from time to time. Great customer service. Most recent request was to get help in replacing batteries in the units. Also provided the code numbers for individual units/sensors in each room.

I have had ADT for over 10 years now and have been very satisfied with alarm response and service. A year ago one of the door sensors malfunctioned and we had several false alarms. The service technician diagnosed the problem and made repairs at no cost. I was grateful and surprised on a 10 year old system. Response operators are always friendly and courteous. Great company!

I like the time I talked to them about changing batteries in my sensors. She took time to explain where I could get batteries. She asked if I had any more questions. She checked my information to see if all things was filled out right and checked to see if my contacts was up to date.

If you're looking for an alarm company to make you feel secure this is the way to go! Anytime our alarm has gone off they are immediately calling in to make sure we are okay. Someone broke into our house through a window that was hidden behind foliage. We were not home. When they walked into the hallway, the alarm went off. This was a Sunday afternoon. ADT immediately called us and we told them to call the police. We also called a friend who lived nearby and has a key to our house. We asked him to go to our house. He went to the house and when he unlocked and walked into the house with the police, the alarm went off again. ADT called again. We were very happy with ADT's rapid response.

I called for an upgrade which was advertised on tv for $49.00. My upgrade was $105.00 and less equipment than shower on t.v. The serviceman very professional courteous. He explained the new system I would liked paper directions for reference.

ADT has set my mind at ease for years. My house was broken into a couple of years ago and never did I think I needed security. I called ADT that evening and they were there the next day, I have never felt more secure having ADT security in my home. They notify you immediately when any adverse action happens on your property.

I’ve had ADT for almost 3 years now and I am very satisfied with the service and security, I would highly recommend ADT to my friends and family to keep their home safe and secured in the event of fire or break in. I also had a security camera installed inside so I can keep an eye on my dogs while we are out. Also have fire and motion detector. Everything works well. No problems.

I have had ADT since 1985 (when Sears owned the company). They have always provided me with great professional service. Their Techs are the best. They determine what needs to be done to fix my problem and then they do it! They never leave my house until they are sure I fully understand everything. No question I ask is ever “too dumb”. From my initial phone call for service until the tech leaves I am treated with compassion, care and professionalism.

My wireless system does the job for me with complete peace of mind that nobody can tamper. Easy to activate and confident that any disturbance is monitored by a dedicated agent. Long time customer of 9 years with ADT Security, I work with ADT in the transferring of service from home residence to an apartment residence. I was informed that I would have discontinue the service at my old residence and install a new service at my new residence. After paying a new installation fee of $105.00 on 11/30/17, I was also informed that the termination fee of $639.00 would be waived since there was no service termination. There was mixed up on ADT with the installing of my service at the new residence which a sales consultant had to come out and start the whole process over again.
I also received a letter from ADT Security Services stating the they cancelled my account. As a result I would be charged $691.59, and the amount would be debited from my bank account. I called the representative on 1/8/2018 and was informed to disregard this letter since I'm having a new system installed on 1/30/2018. My account was debited $637.56 (putting in a negative balance and incurring bank charges), called again on 1/17/2018 and was informed that this was a normal process by ADT and would have to call back on 2/3/2018 after the new installation has been completed. Totally untrustworthy company.

A neighbor who was watching my house and pets while I was on vacation set off the alarm as she entered. ADT called me while I was driving. I was fairly certain that it was my neighbor but couldn't call since I was driving. They were kind enough to call my neighbor (my alternate emergency contact) and verify that it was her.

I feel much safer in my home since having the security system installed in my home after my husband passed away. For months I wasn’t able to sleep at nights and now I can. The system was rather pricey but I guess peace is mind doesn’t come cheap. I consider it a good investment.

We had a window alarm go off several times in the middle of the night. We replaced the battery on the contact and it happened again. ADT called at each alarm and were very calm and professional. They waited on the phone until they knew everything was fine. They also helped with immediately scheduling an appointment to come out the next day and check that window. They replaced the contact free of charge and we’ve had no further issues. A very smooth experience from start to finish.

I opine ADT provides outstanding service. Our family has received their services for approximately twenty (20 years. We have several alarms errors (on our behalf), police promptly responded and all was well. Additionally, we had a carbon monoxide alarm and were advised to immediately depart our home. Four fire trucks responded within a few minutes and they were able to determine it was a false alarm. We advised ADT and they sent a technician within a day or two to replace the faulty detector. I highly recommend their services and as a direct result several of our neighbors have procured their services. From time to time I have updated the system and sales and customer service were great to work with. Looking back over twenty years I would do it all over again!!!

Overall ADT is excellent. Their people when I call in and knowledgeable and helpful. Early on several times I accidentally set the alarm off. They were very helpful. Grade A. Billing is easy. ADT really care about their customers. I highly recommend them to my friends.

ADT has been very good. The monitoring is great. When the batteries are ready to be replaced ADT helps to let me know what is wrong. The only real problem is the ADT clicker is fragile, I need to replace one of them now because it breaks very easily. Thank you.

Very satisfied with the services. Would like to see loyal customers get better pricing as opposed to lower pricing for same service for new customers. Would like to have exterior cameras added as part of the service. The text messages and phone calls are a good way to contact owners when the alarm goes off.

I find our ADT system with Pulse to be the easiest to use and most reliable security system available. In addition to reliable security with quick notification of every alarm, I can get instant access to cameras and system status through the Pulse portal.

There had been some break-ins in the area although not too much anymore but it was enough to convince us that we needed a system. So, I decided to get ADT and we got the Home and Away options on our keypad. We've been very pleased with their service so far. One time, there was a power failure out here. The system didn’t go off but it played havoc with the print-out, the time and the date and their reps were very good about helping me reprogram it. There was also a time when the alarm went off by accident when I went downstairs to let the dogs out and forgot that I hadn’t turned the alarm off. Their response was quick and they know what they were doing. We'd recommend them to anybody who's looking for a security system and I would explain how satisfied we've been because they've met our needs. There may be other companies out there that are as good but I have no reason to go looking for anybody else.

Our ADT has an alarm system on it and it's on the fire, police and medical. It does the job of securing my home. When I accidentally set it off, they called immediately so that was good and I had good interaction with them. One time, our maid came and she set off the alarm so the cops came and I got home as quickly as I could and they were totally fine.

ADT has been very reliable and we've had them since we moved in our house about 20 years ago. When we have a chance to interact with their reps, it's been very positive. Now, our little concerned is that RadioShack seems to be out of business and we used to buy the battery that powers the system there. I suppose that there are other places where we could get that battery, but where those batteries would be available might be something they would want to notify the customers about.

I'm 82 years old and when my husband passed away in September, my children told me that they wanted to get me an alarm security for a Christmas present to make them feel more secure that I was alright. My house has been broken into three different times where all my guns and antique clocks were stolen. I also work at Walmart from 1:00 to 10:00 at night and my kids said that they didn't want me coming home at night and not feeling like I was secure at the house.
They got me an alarm system with ADT and when it was installed, the tech was a very nice person. I feel safe and very secure having them, and so far, I'm very well pleased with their service. I also feel that when I come home, pull in the driveway, and into the garage, there would be no one that had broken in to the house and be waiting for me to come home like I hear on the news. I appreciate ADT and I couldn't find a better company. I would highly recommend them to anyone. As a matter of fact, my neighbor over here on the corner stopped by to ask me about my security system and I told her about what my experience with ADT. She said she was going to call them and have them install one for her, and she did.

Today I had to replace the battery in one of my motion detectors. No big deal. The person I talked to 2 days ago told me what to do and what kind of battery to get. Very professional. She told me to call them back and let them know I was changing the battery when I do it because it will come up as someone's tampering with the device on their end. First call today: I get a customer service rep on the line. Give her my info and PW, she says she'll stay on the line till after I change the battery so she can walk me through resetting my panel. I hand the phone to my wife and within 10 seconds my wife tells me the person hung up.
Second call today: I call back immediately. Get another women on the phone who asks for my address but not my PW and starts to walk me through the reset. I acknowledge the panel is reset and ask about the motion detector light still blinking on the device. She hangs up on me. Third call today: I call back again... I dialed 1-800-ADT-ASAP and explain that I am trying to get my motion detector back online and the panel reset, that I have called twice previously and was hung up on both times. They tell me to hang on while they put me through to customer service. The lines drops. Dead. Am I to believe that if there was an emergency at my home, this system is supposed to work and contact the proper authorities if an emergency arises after their own customer service reps can't even finish a phone call? Perhaps it's time for me to contact Comcast and use them for my home security needs?
Hello Scott. I apologize for your experience. We recieved your message via ADT's Facebook page as well. Your system utilizes the phone line to send signals to ADT. If you're currently on the line that the system uses to when it's trying to send anything to ADT, it will disconnect you off the line. We see that both times you called into ADT we received two restoral signals, one at 4:20 and the other around 4:27, indicating the trouble signal we initially received has been reset.
In the future, we recommend calling using a cell phone or alternate line when attempting to troubleshoot the services, so you are not disconnected in the event a signal is being sent to ADT. Your system is communicating as it should. -Andrew

Call ADT to get Service. But somehow, I was billed by a company called “protect your home/defenders.” Called several times about service on $3000 equipment. They would always say they will have someone to come out. That never happened. 2 1/2 Years later, I moved and asked could I get the equipment moved. Everything but a “yes, we will move your equipment.” Yet, it was everything about renewing my contract and selling me more equipment.
I told them I didn’t want to continue to pay $54 per month any longer than I needed to do. Could I continue with the contract that I currently had with the equipment that I paid 3,000 dollars for. No. I said I would give them a call back to decide. Less than 2 months, collections called me for $953.82 balance. I then called ADT and they were absolutely no help. I guess I have no choice but to pay this. But I will never ever ever again use this company. If you’re not planning to have the system for 5 years or more and are willing to pay their outrageous amount of monthly fees you should run. And run fast. Trust me, this company is a ripoff.

I'd really love to write a good review about ADT. Perhaps there will be a resolution and I will be able to do so. I ordered an ADT home security system in November 2017. I told the salesperson that I wanted only the $27.99 package w/ telephone monitoring. The installer arrived in early December, offered all kinds of add-ons as well as pulse monitoring. I turned down everything that would exceed $27.99. He did his installation, left w/o giving me a copy of the contract. When I finally received the contract I saw that he installed pulse monitoring and I was being billed $52 a month. Many many calls to ADT and Defenders have not stopped daily calls from ADT collection/billing department. I will not pay for something I didn't order and didn't want. System has been downgraded now to the telephone monitoring, but I'm still left with holes in my wall and dunning telephone calls. Please help!

We have a big house and I cannot hear what happens in the other end. And every now and then, I go to let the dog out and forget I have the alarm on. ADT has done a good job and I have no need to have really fancy, more expensive equipment. I’m very happy with them. They came out one time to service the batteries. But the representative here in town was a little confusing. There was one place that I thought was ADT and they weren't but I got a hold of somebody who knew what they were doing. When I called the other day, the gal was more than accommodating to send the certificate to my insurance company. Also a friend ended up getting an ADT and I don’t think she uses it as much as I do but she is happy with it too. She has the key fob so hers is more up-to-date than mine, but that’s okay. I do recommend them to anybody that’s asking.

I have had ADT for years. I like the wireless control for the system. It works fine. I can set from my phone wherever I am if I forget to set it. And the installation team were good. They just came and did their job. After they've finished installing they explained to me how the equipment works.

A friend of mine had ADT and referred me to it. I talked with a very helpful rep and I asked him to come back. I had a couple of questions and he came back and explained everything. I was really happy with his expertise and the way he handled the situation. I got a remote to lock the system when I go outside and I have a digital keypad as well. And our rep installed the whole thing. ADT makes me feel secure and I'm happy with it and I recommended it to a friend.

Father passed away in October, while settling the estate. ADT is the only company who continues to try and bill a dead man. Called to cancel the service and found out A. The service had not been active for months. B) Autopay continued to bill a credit card without an active contract in place. C) ADT still tries to bill even when the credit card is cancelled due to death. D) You can’t call to cancel due to “security concerns.” E. When you mail a death certificate they deny they received it. F) When you email a death certificate they don’t respond. And F) They threaten collection agencies to bill for months against a dead mans house. Must have called the elderly widow 10 times, like a credit card scam, trying to extract new billing information.

BEWARE- $53 is the minimum to pay to get decent security system, anything less is not worth it. They leave that portion out when you think you can get in for something less. Service call takes 1-3 hrs because they are selling the entire time. Cancellation fax# (866-975-1720) doesn't work so had to overnight my cancellation via FedEx. Had several calls with customer service and they explained that they reset the fax and it should work now and they gave me another #(317-564-2552) which didn't work either. Turns out it's a robocall; not valid fax line. Overall, very misleading- left bad taste in my mouth. They speak of deterring burglars but they also deter consumers by making it difficult to cancel...they figure you will give up and just keep the service.

My service was adequate...took them 15 min on average before a call to law enforcement for an alarm activation. My frustration is regarding being sent to collections after I sold my home and cancelled service. I was given a credit back and 3 months later I received a notice from collections for $146.00. I never received a bill or a phone call regarding this apparent cancellation charge and don't understand why I would be given a credit back after canceling. The rep who gave me the account credit never said a word either.
I was a customer for 10 years in that home. I just purchased a new home with the intent on having ADT installed, but obviously that has changed. I am a peace officer and have seen first hand several alarm companies and systems with adt being somewhere in the middle, but this whole straight to collections nonsense took them to the bottom. They completely failed to inform me of any cancellation fees or bills. I would not recommend adt.

The rep advised that due to the Pulse upgrade you had in 2018, your contract was extended. Your contract did not expire until May 2018 and as a result the credit balance for the payment in September was applied to the early termination charges of $257.57, leaving a balance of $146.60 on the account. We have since removed this charge, and your account now reflects a $0.00 balance.

Signed up for ADT 2016 paying one year in advance. Within a few months phone calls started in from Florida saying I'm behind in the bill. Told them over and over bill is paid in advance with only threats of being turned into a collection agency. After months I called corporate to clear this issue up. Fast forward to 2018 to cancel the service after contract is up, I'm forced to pay for one more month since cancellation takes 30 days. Company is a nightmare, they truly don't care about the client.

My son wanted to contact ADT and got their service for me. I have them for about a year now and it's been good. All I've got is the emergency outfit I wear around my neck that I can use in case I fall or get hurt here in the house. I'm 84 years old and I'm pretty much confined to the house. So far, they've been right there as soon as I pushed the button. They've been very professional, reliable and helpful with all questions. I like working with them. They're really good people.

Everyone I have interacted with were pleasant, friendly, and professional. I have not had any alarms. Most of the time with ADT was in the 7 day new period. The only thing that I would say needs to be updated is that the Permit is not obtained at the police station but at the City Hall Annex at the Ordination Violation Department. I do not have their telephone number. I have been very pleased with our experience. Everyone is well informed and identify themselves with their names and ID numbers.

We used to be with the company that ADT bought up and we've been with them for decades. We have the basic package with infrared sensors and when the installers came out to put in a new keypad, they seemed to know their job. When we've had a false alarm, ADT's reps took care of us very well and it has been a good relationship. We'd recommend them to a friend.

My sisters have ADT and I saw the company's sticker when I went to their house. I decided to sign up, too, and the sales reps I talked to were very professional and very nice. They really got my trust when they were explaining those information. I ended up getting the service package that includes the monitoring camera, the doorbell, and the small iPad inside the house. The guy who installed the system was also very nice and very professional. It didn't take him so long to install everything then he walked me through when I was putting the system on the apps. So far, I'm very much satisfied with their service and I'd recommend them to friends. When you call them, right away they're there, right on time. They won't put you on hold or delay, plus, their customer service reps are very friendly and they will answer all your questions.

We had looked around to see what we wanted and chose ADT for the house that we were looking at the first time. There are some people that we've been cautioned a lot about, people that are representing ADT but are flaky representations, but we've always had a great relationship with the primary ADT people. If we want more or less, we call and get it taken care of. They're possibly not the cheapest around, but we get good service. In one case, they went far out of their way in working to help resolve an issue with regards to a pre-wired window installation that did not have the sensors in them. We'd spent a couple of hours trying to find the right wires and finally resolved that the wires were never put in. And so, they worked hard and did a lot of work. They even re-wired a really screwed up junction box with all of the parts in it.

I have ADT since December 2016 and I've been satisfied with them. The reps I dealt with on the phone and the one who installed the alarms were very nice. So far, so good. But I've got a smoke detector that's kind of beeping on me a little bit. I have called ADT last Saturday to see if somebody might come out here and check it for me. Their rep told me to take it down and put a new battery in it. But I was afraid to mess with it because it belongs to them not me, so I left it alone. Other than that, I'd recommend ADT.

We have ADT for 15 years now. We have two systems, one in Colorado and one in Wyoming. We have the alarms for fire and entering when the system is set. In all the years we've had them, their reps have come out twice and our experience with them were great. There is one technician in the Denver office named Josh who has serviced both our systems and he is by far the best technician that ADT ever hired. They should get more technicians like him. He knew what he was doing and he did it quickly and moved on. I was very satisfied with him and I request him when I have a problem. When the Wyoming system went out, it took the phone line out and ADT called us to indicate that the system was down. I would recommend them.

A number of our neighbors had alarm device so we decided to check it out. We looked at Night Owl and ADT and I decided to go with ADT. I hope they're doing their job. We had a little bit of an issue to take care of the contract not filled out right so, I had to go back and forth a little bit to get it corrected. And then, I got a notice over the internet that the contract wasn't right. The "correction" that came in and then when I didn't read it right I signed it and it still wasn't right. So, I have to go back again and get it corrected again. But it worked out. During the installation the guy who came seemed to do a good job and was very knowledgeable.

ADT gives me peace of mind. I won't go with any other company. I got the Ring doorbell. It shows me when somebody's at the door immediately. It will pick them up as they come up the walkway. I know before they ring the bell. It's great too because at times it takes motion. I know when my mail comes. However, should someone attempt to break in or if the alarm goes of, they end up calling the house, and that delays the response time. They should speed up the response time. Rather than having them call and go through the nonsense, give them the code and all that, they should just automatically go to the police. But with all the gadgets that we have, we can get the information instantaneously and we can act quickly as well. I've recommended ADT to several people. In fact, my sister have more lavished unit than I do.

The sales rep was very helpful and made sure that we were getting everything that we would need from a basic standpoint. The installer was very patient and even had to wait for us to get home. Once there he was thorough and made sure we understood the equipment and how it works. When he was done we were able to play with the system a bit before it was live and we ended up feeling very secure and confident in the system.

As we have only had our system for 24 hours. I will withhold my complete review for now. Just be aware that the sales pitch of a $ 99.00 installation includes a system that may secure a building the size of a one window outhouse. So be prepared to spend much more if you want a system to cover your home. In our case over 10 times that amount! Although our system did include an exterior alarm and some key fobs. Also, the $100 gift certificate? --- Can cost 4.95 S&H plus the cost of the required certified check or money order which of course takes time and travel to get. Apparently a personal check is not good enough. A little mutual trust would be nice, after all I am trusting them to help protect my family and home.

ADT is a pretty big name in the security business. I talked with some people who had ADT service at their house and they were saying praises for them. I have known by reputation that they were very good. Their reps answered a lot of my questions and I was satisfied with them. It just took a long time for the installer to get everything wired and was extremely exhausted when he left. I have their wireless keychain and the keypad. I don’t have the motion detector though because at the time I was contemplating on getting a dog. If I were to put the alarm on and the dog was in the house and it started walking around, it would trigger the motion detector. I didn't want to have to keep coming home because of that.
It’s been a year and a half now that I've been using ADT. The times that I set off the alarm, they were very understanding as to why I did what I did. I occasionally still forget when my alarm is on. And when the phone call comes, I explain that it was an accident on my end. I’ve never had anybody try to break in too. I had a good enough experience that when I went to get a system for medical reasons, I went back to ADT to get it. They were very good about doing the billing because they realized I had the two systems. A couple of days ago, I forgot to plug it in overnight to charge up and they called me a couple days later and said that the transmitter needed to be charged. I’m glad I have them.

My experience with the equipment is very good. The gentlemen who did the installation were very efficient and helpful and pleasant. But the people on the phone for sales and billing need retraining. The first 3 people I dealt with for sales gave me false installation information. One date give for installation was a date I was going to be out of state and no way would I have given permission to have the system installed on a date when I would not be home. At last the 4th Sales Representative handle everything like a professional should, and everything went as schedule. And then another big error on your part. The monthly payment was to come off the checking account. The payment for the equipment was to be put on my charge card, lo and behold both payments were put on my charge card. Please do not try to correct this mistake. I have adjusted to your errors and I don't need to compensate for any more of your mistakes.
Updated on 01/13/2018: Here we go again, another big mistake by ADT. On top of everything I wrote about yesterday tonight at 8:00 P.M. I received a call from ADT that my payment was declined. I was shocked. Then after I ask how can that be she says it is not a mistake. Then after I explain all my problems oh yes they just cleared it. Now it is fine, no it is not fine. Then they tell me I owe $14.99 for the city permit when Jake ** and Rick ** who installed the system they told me not to worry everything was taken care of. I guess it was not taken care of now was it. Now I am getting the runaround in trying to get my $100.00 gift card. I am sure I will not receive that without a lot of work on my part if I even get it at all. What Is Next???

ADT seems to be in the habit of using bait and switch techniques with their new Customers. I called to have a system installed and was given a price for everything and when they came out, the price more than doubled. Buyer beware. It seems this is a common practice with them.

If one is not present, then an upgrade would be needed for cell-guard services, to allow the system the ability to communicate without the need for a land line. I had the company that was before ADT and ADT bought them out, so I’m a loyal customer that just grandfathered over. We added some more equipment not too long ago and scheduling the installation was simple. The guy that came out was very professional. He explained everything to me and quickly put everything in. He showed me how to use the camera and he set up my computer for me. It was great. I was expecting half a day and he was here an hour and a half. The only thing I don’t like that changed from the system I had is that when I go to leave, I have to wait for everything to really set. In the old system, I just walked up to the box and put “Hit” and I was out the door. I didn’t have to put in my code and wait for it, so it was much easier to leave.

Our salesperson addressed our concerns, answered our questions and came back out when we had some trouble. He was quite good. The system was installed and the guy explained how to do it. I like the stay feature because we have a dog. We can arm the outer doors that turn off the sensor. We've had ADT for three years and our experience has been pretty much positive. It's a good value.

We got our system through an authorized retailer and had it installed about two weeks ago. We have the infrared detector and two glass break sensors. Everything worked just fine until the other day I had it set to alarmed stay and closing a door (not slamming), set off the glass break. The alarm went off and it was late at night so we disarmed it as to not have to deal with it going off again. A few nights ago we were at a friend's house and within a matter of an hour and a half received three phone calls from ADT because our dog set off the infrared detector even though we were told by the retailer that her size would not set it off. Today, my dog's barking tripped the glass break sensor. We can't even arm our system anymore and can't get out of our contract. However, our technician was really fantastic and did a great job.

We started out with Brinks and then it evolved over a period of time into ADT. The transition worked out okay and I've had a good experience with customer service. They were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We got the basic system. We have one motion detector and then sensors on the doors and windows. Their response time was pretty quick and I'm very satisfied with their service. I would highly recommend ADT.

ADT has been around for a while, and I’ve heard good things about them. Somebody I know has them, and they were also recommended by somebody else I know. I’ve a very good experience with ADT, and were satisfied with their service. There are some things that we still had to learn, but it worked out. The sales representative that came through was also great. He was friendly, very knowledgeable and informative. He didn’t seem like he was in a rush to get us signed. He also took his time to explain things to us.
One issue we had we the company, however, was that the little placards that you put on the yard saying, “This home is protected by ADT” have been backordered, and so it took a little while for us to get those. It probably took two months before we were able to get it, so there was hardly any way that I could identify to the walking-by public that we had a security system, which is part of the reason for having it. But they showed up, and it worked out.

I’ve had my system for 30 years and I’ve been happy with ADT's service. The installers were on time and courteous. I had some equipment put in recently and I had an alarm go off. The reps were all friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I also had an issue with my billing so they helped me. Somehow they had changed my billing from automatic draft to an email, but they corrected that.

ADT has a wonderful sales representative named Nelson who was recommended to us by our neighbor and we specifically asked for. We really liked him, his personality and overall knowledge of what he could bring. He was great to work with, very personable, and very interested in making sure we were happy. He understood that it's a big thing to change our security system after 25 years with our provider and it was going to be a big job. Then he had the professional installers come and he was also actually here to double check what they were doing and answered any questions we had.
The two installer guys spent an entire day for the installation and they were very nice, professional, and cleaned up after themselves when they were done. They also went about their business and only asked us to get involved when they had questions. We've had service with ADT for a couple of months now and we're very happy with them. We'd recommend them to anybody in our neighborhood anytime.

I was with Brinks and ADT bought them out. I have fire and burglar alarms with my service package, plus an emergency button. I have the system for at least 20 years now and I'm very happy with it. It works and I would tell others about it. Their service has been very good, too.

ADT was installed in our house when we moved here and we just activated it. We've been with them for about four years already. Speaking with their rep was good. He was a really nice guy. He came in and the installers also came in and put little motion detectors in on a couple spots. The others were also good. We had no problem with them, too. However, a couple of times we have either forgotten or not shut off the alarm fast enough when we’ve gotten in the house. I thought that someone was to call us and check on things, but no one has. Nevertheless, we’d recommend them. It’s a good system.

From the customer service when I made the call to the serviceman who set up the system the entire event was professional and efficient. I'm pleased with the service. I've only had the service for a couple of weeks but so far so good. When I push the button on the keychain thingy or if I use the app I'm able to turn my system on or off.

I’ve had ADT regular alarm since 1998 at my home and I've had no problem so far. A couple months ago, I got the doorbell that has the video and so far, it has been good. My husband is a contractor and sometimes he leaves the truck out in the driveway. There have been several times they have broken to the truck, so I’ve decided to do get that.
A couple of weeks later after we had the doorbell with the video installed, my car was behind the truck and a guy visiting some people across from us backed off, hit my car, and took off. It happened at night and we didn’t hear anything. The next morning, I was going to church and I saw my car, so I checked the video. Because of the video, we were able to get a hold of him. I told a lot of my friends that I am glad that I had that done or else I would have never known who hit my car. Also, sometimes I suffer from seizures and I might be by myself and in case something happens to me and there was no one here, there's the video.

The first time we put ADT in, the rep came in and he explained everything. He was very courteous and put in all in. And then about a year later, we had problems with one of the devices that was hooked up in our bedroom that was supposed to speak. I called ADT, another rep came out and put another one in. Both reps were excellent. They were on time and went straight in to work. The first rep asked us where we wanted the devices installed and we had one device installed in our bedroom that speaks, and then the other one in the laundry room. After that, he cleaned up after himself.
We put it on sometimes when we're home, but most of the time, I use it whenever we're gone. I can check everything on my cellphone and see that the house is secure. My husband thinks ADT is a little expensive for what they do, but their service has been good so far. I had a really good experience with ADT and I thoroughly enjoy it. I would highly recommend them.

At a time when we were trying to decide on a home security system, we got a brochure in one of the newspapers about a little deal ADT was running. We had always heard that ADT was very good and we got the motion detectors, the keypad, sensors and other basics included in the package we purchased. We’ve been very satisfied with it. One time, the power was off for our keypad so I called the ADT team and they tracked and said that there was trouble in the area with the power being down. But they also said that they’d have it back and running shortly. Sure enough, once that power came on, it had come right back on.
Then on another time, we were out of town and the alarm went off. Sure enough, they contacted the police and they came to check our house. It turned out that we had left our screened porch door open and the wind blew it, so that was what set it off. But the bottom line is that they jumped on it quickly. We’ve been very pleased and I’d highly recommend ADT. I’m glad to share that we have ADT and that we’ve had a good experience, but I don’t advertise it. A lot of our neighbors see the signs and if others ask then I’d tell them we’re real pleased with it.

Our experience was easy from start to finish. Alex was who I spoke with to set up my appt and get info on getting ADT. CHRIS was our installer and he worked very hard for hours to get our system installed, he went over everything. We had an existing system that was tied to our cable service with another company that we installed over 11 years ago when we moved in so he removed the old keypads since that is where we wanted the new ones. He is so patient and a hard worker. Chris is a credit to your company. We have set the alarm off several times while learning and your response has been prompt, polite and understanding.

We had Brink's way back in the '80s. We quit it for a while then we went back and ADT bought Brink's. We have them for years now and they've been very wonderful. We have the keys for turning the alarm off and on, and we have a camera. We also have apps on the phone to turn the alarm on and off and they're pretty good. If we need ADT to come out, they're here right away. Their service is fast and they answer all our questions on the phone. They've been great.
One time they came out and we went over the program because we updated what we had. We explained everything, then the tech called his office, and we got it all set up. It was very simple. They've been very professional and reliable. I like working with them and that I could check my account online. We had a false alarm once when my husband could not remember the code to turn the alarm off and they called down on his phone right way. He told them he messed up and we got it all taken care of.

I used to be with Brinks, which was purchased by ADT so it was an automatic transfer. The rates increased immediately, but as far as the remote attention, it's okay. Everything that I used to have with Brinks, I got with ADT. Before, we'd get a call from Brinks and they'd ask for our password, but that's not the case with ADT now. If we cancel immediately, there's no call. Also, ADT's reps were friendly and courteous.

I reached out to ADT and told them I wanted a security system. I saw a flyer and the cost was $27.99 but the rep told me that it was $54.99. He explained about the landline versus the cell phone line and if I have a landline, the cost was $27. I told him that I got 13 windows and he said the promotion was only for six entrances. I needed 13 so he did the math and gave me 13. The experience wasn't like somebody was trying to sell me something. So it worked pretty fluently. I got the basic alarm system from them and have the app on my phone which I can turn the system on and off from it.
When the installer came, he tried to sell me a couple of more things like motion sensor and fire alarm since I don't have those in my package. He was friendly but I ended up not getting any extra. I definitely sleep better at night knowing that the alarm is on. Having the system has been a great peace of mind for me. I wouldn’t disconnect it just because I haven’t had the need to use it. There have been two instances at night time when the alarm had gone off and I woke up like crazy. The garage door was not all the way shut down, so through the night A/C came on and the door slightly got open and the alarm went off. That was a good experience because at least it told me that if something were to happen, the system is functioning as it should be. But I am still bitter about the price that I need to pay, but it is what it is.

ADT is a good company. And when I purchased the system, the representative I dealt with was great. So far, the service has been good. I got cameras to let me know when the front and back doors are open. I got one sensor for all my bedroom windows and I have one in my den window. And I have a remote, too. The only problem I have right now is I can't get my four-digit password to get into my alarm. I have to log in before it will work and I have forgotten my password to log in. Other than that, my experience has been excellent.

When we first came to Florida we used Brink's and they installed my system and that's over 20 years ago. And then ADT bought out Brink's and we just stayed with them. In fact they were going away and they're coming back today to upgrade us to a wireless service. Their customer service agents and sales reps were very courteous, very helpful and very considerate. We keep dealing with them because they've been very fair to us and their service is excellent. ADT is very reliable and fairly priced.

I had been a loyal and satisfied ADT customer until now... I am furious, and I don't feel I can trust this company any more. I recently moved and went through all the necessary and proper steps to transfer my monitoring service to my new home or, so I thought. Big Lie #1: After the installation in my previous home, the ADT technician said if I moved, I could transfer both the new equipment as well as the service to my next residence, but this turned out to be false. Not only did I have to purchase new equipment but also moving is considered an early termination of the contract and not a transfer.
Blatant Misrepresentation #2: Upon establishing new service, the sales rep NEVER told me that I was signing a NEW 3-year contract. (i.e. agreeing to 36 months). He only pointed out the new monthly monitoring fee and the installation charges. I guess I should have had all the fine print reviewed by my attorney before signing!
Now back to the termination of monitoring in my old home. When I first called to discontinue that service, ADT told me I was obligated to give them 30 days’ notice, so I would still have to pay for monitoring for 30 days from that date. I don't remember them telling me this either (I guess it was in the fine print). Other utility companies just ask for the date to disconnect or discontinue service. Why the 30 days? I thought it was bogus considering I was going to then be paying for monitoring service in a home that was essentially vacant but whatever.
Turns out ADT did not discontinue monitoring when I called the first time. I had to call a 2nd time to do so and that's when I discovered they were still billing me beyond the date I had given them and had done so for 2 billing cycles. I thought this would be an easy fix... I called, and they said a credit would be posted. A couple of days later, no credit to my account and when I called to find out why they said the billing rep I had spoken with wasn't there and had not left any notes in the system. Are you kidding me?!
But here's the real kicker: WITHOUT notification of any kind, ADT then auto debited my account with a nearly $1000 cancellation fee!! I was incredulous and livid to say the least. When I called them to tell them to immediately reverse this charge because it was going to prevent me from paying my bills, I was given a pathetic, "It's already been taken care of, but it'll take 2-4 business days because that's how long it takes your bank,"... as if it's my bank's fault! This last act constitutes THEFT and abuse of the ADT EasyPay system which is only supposed to be used to generate the monitoring payment. I normally would not post such a long review, but I hope it will caution any potential new customers to ask the right questions and read those contracts. ADT's billing and contractual practices are shady if not downright unethical! - A VERY DISGRUNTLED CUSTOMER

I’ve had ADT years ago when I lived at another place in another town then I’ve never had another security system since then. And then an ad for ADT popped up on Facebook, and I was a ta place and time where I could get it done. Their sales representative was great. He told me that if I was interested, I can do whatever, and I did it. This was on a Sunday, and they installed it the next day. So, it has been great from beginning to end. One man came out to do the installation, and he was friendly, very courteous, and knew what he was doing. He got the job done, and he was out of there. So far, I haven’t had to use the system as far as having an incident where the police were called, and hopefully, it will never happen. ADT is great, and I have told my friends that if they were considering a security system, they should give ADT a call.

When I moved in here 22 years ago, I had Brink's because I had them in the former house. Then ADT bought them out. I've had good luck with them and I like my system because it's simple and I understand it. I have the screens that monitor the other two sliders in each bedroom. Then I have the regular detectors for whenever something is up in the hallway through the entry hall. And I'm going to have the service where I can press on options or buttons then I can be in the house and still have the alarm of the certain doors and the screens. Once or twice a year, I accidentally set off the alarm due to the fact that I don't get in the house quick enough. Now that I have a walker, I have to get that in from the garage over the threshold to shut the wire off. Sometimes, they don't quite make it but I usually press cancel and I'm able to eliminate calling the police or ADT's reps calling me. Whenever I talk to them, they treat me with pure faith.

The experience was pleasant and thorough. It took a bit longer than I had anticipated (6 hours!) and I felt mislead and boxed in regarding automatic payments. I am not a person to use the automatic payment option. My credit only allowed for this option but I was not told this information until after the installation was done and my old equipment had been removed. My only choices were to undo the installation (I would have needed to replace equipment from my old provider) or move forward with automatic payments. This information should be presented PRIOR to installation. Overall I would recommend the service. I just wish they had been more upfront regarding payment policies.

Installation tech was very helpful, and did not force any unwanted equipment or services on us. He helped us understand how each piece of equipment would help at each point of the home, and was helpful in understanding the various controls on the main panel.

Customer for 3 years and within that time the small plastic piece that keeps the keypad door latched has broken off due to nothing other than normal wear and tear on our part. When this happened the 1st time 1 1/2 years after install we were told they don’t replace only the plastic flip door piece that covers the keypad. Our only option was to replace the whole keypad itself AND renew our 3 year contract. We reluctantly agreed as it was the only option. Now 1 1/2 years later it happened again! I called ADT and yet again no other offers or options to take the opportunity to recognize their shortcoming by not having a replacement part offered for no or very low cost or comping the cost or contract renewal requirement in order to deliver legendary service to their customer.
Now my only option is to get into yet again another 3 year contract, pay for a full keypad out of pocket or leave it broken and if I want the door to close use tape! Very aggravating. If they had a better product that doesn’t continue to break or offer replacement doors so it could be less costly to replace that would be highly beneficial to customers in my situation. If we had not been required in order to replace the part last time to renew our contract we would have been out of contact last month. Now we have to wait another 1 1/2 years to get out of it to be able to make any change. Let alone be able to reduce monthly cost by being able to reduce our plan to the basic from the more expensive Pulse plan that we don't use enough to be worth having. I am very frustrated based on these issues. Services otherwise has not been an issue.

The installer was very nice and helpful. He promptly returned to correct a problem with one of our door contacts not being connected. The upsetting aspect was we were not advised through ADT initial sales force nor the installer that there would be additional monthly fees ($15 extra/month) for camera monitoring; we were just encouraged to order a Yi or Nest camera on our own which would be approx. $40-$50 as compared to approx $170 if we ordered ADT's cameras, and then the Yi or Nest camera would be installed free of charge. An additional monthly camera monitoring fee and phone app fee was not mentioned--or at least it was not made clear. So now, I guess we're stuck paying an additional $180 per year X 3 years = $540, plus taxes. All the little charges add up. It's very upsetting. Feel misled! Buyer beware!
Updated on 01/09/2018: Are you saying that we should only be charged $37/month to include camera monitoring that we were originally promised? Soon after writing the initial review and speaking with another ADT representative by phone, we learned that our existing hardwired system was supposed to be $36.99/month and this was what we requested at the onset. We already have existing hardwired equipment that ADT installed a few years ago that works fine but needs to be connected to a phone line. We were told by the installer that he reconnected this hardwired system to the panel with our phone/fax line as we requested. He actually did not do any hardwired connection and lied to us by telling us he connected the system to the phone line in the panel and was also installing battery contacts as a back up to the hardwired system.
What he actually did was simply install several battery contacts in the areas that also had hardwired contacts. We figured this out after he returned to correct the problem with the garage door entry not sounding when it opened. He then installed another battery contact, so it then appeared to be corrected. We then had another ADT installer return and verify that a hardwired system was indeed NOT installed. ALSO, I called to ask why a contract had never been emailed to us as promised. I had to initial areas on an 8 page document on the installer’s iPad and I gave him my email address to send me a hard copy of the contract, which I never received because he did not record the correct email address. Was that done intentionally??? I had to call the company to have it emailed to me and of course the time period for notice of cancellation had expired!

I got ADT through my insurance company and I've been with them for several years. The individual that came out and installed it was super nice, knowledgeable and on point. I had a lot of questions ‘cause I wanted to know everything about the new system. He showed me how it worked, showed me how to log in on LAN and I can even log in on my phone and view it. If the power goes out, the system still works. It's setup on the wireless and I have wireless cameras that are tied into it that feeds back into the server. So, the whole house has surveillance capability and motion detectors. They've done good work for me and I’m very satisfied with them.

I started out with Brinks then it was bought out by ADT and I stayed with them. I've been with the service for 30 years or more and I am satisfied. Everything I need, I have right now with them. When my battery was bad, the tech who came in and replaced it was great. Everything went fine and it was an easy thing. I would suggest ADT to others.

There is a lot of comfort knowing we have ADT. The system works well but AT&T which is part of the service doesn't. I should be able to kick it on with my phone, but it doesn't always have enough power to make it work. At first, we were calling because they weren't getting the signal back at the service. Then, we found out that we didn't even have a contract with the people who actually put the system in. The installers were going to charge us to come out and work on it and then we found out that I should be actually calling ADT. They said they don't charge service calls. They came and they straightened everything out.

I had originally been on Brink's and ADT took over Brink's. The ADT person that I talked to was very courteous and tried to help me. My original installation was done by Brink's, but the alarm is running. When I was on vacation a year ago and the alarm went off, my neighbor next door came over and got at least the alarm stopped. She called ADT and their technician came out. When I travel, I change people who they have to call and they have been very patient with me because I need to have different people for them to call when I'm not home.

We purchased a house with a working touchscreen alarm system. ADT sent out their contracted company, Safehaven, to activate our system. Safehaven told us the system is defective and must be replaced in its entirety for $3000. They removed our entire system and installed a cheaper model of lesser quality. We have had broken sensors already in 6 months. I called ADT about this issue and their rep told us that Safehaven does this ALL THE TIME and ADT does NOTHING about it. ADT’s ‘consumer advocate’ was incredibly defensive of ADT and was of no assistance when I requested our prior system or a comparable one he returned and installed and we be made whole for their fraudulent representation. I will never renew with ADT or use them ever again.

I had a break-in and so my son in law did some research and had ADT put in my house and his. I've had it for a number of years now and I'm completely satisfied with it. Anytime I've had a problem and called, they've been wonderful to walk me through it. Occasionally my little beeper would go off and keep beeping, and I'd call and they'd say, “Let's do this, and this, and this." So, they've always been really nice and helpful.

We're very satisfied with our ADT system. We have the Wi-Fi and they call us if the alarm goes off and we're not home. We also have the motion sensors in our home and in our shop. We had problems where our sensors would go off. The ADT technician came in and checked them. He was really nice anytime we'd had him to come to our home. He also never had a problem stopping by on his way home because he lives in Courtland and we live in Post Falls. The system went off about three or four times and ADT had always been really good. One time, they notified the police when they couldn't get a hold of us. We've been very happy with their service. I would highly recommend them.

The previous owner of our house had a sign on it and they had ADT's service. The package we got includes sensors, detectors and a fire alarm. We got a couple of installation guys out and they were very efficient. My only issue is trying to get them on the phone. They're just like anybody else where you call and you get 40 to 50 minutes' worth of hold before they answer. The problem is sometimes you call them on the cellphone and the cellphone battery goes dead before you get someone. Then you got to charge it and do it again. But their reps have been fine and they follow through every time.

A couple times I’ve had my alarm go off which was my fault, and I’ve gotten a follow-up email from ADT. They call to make sure that everything is okay, then they reset the alarm. Everything works well and I'd recommend them overall.

ADT has a very friendly team. I liked the way they went over everything, including how many dollars I had to spend. The sales rep was great. He explained every feature, but at the time, I couldn't afford every feature so I just picked out what I really wanted. Installation was great as well. I'm very illiterate when it comes down to phones and computers, but the system is very easy for me to work. I like the little pad upstairs wherein if I forget to alarm the system, I can alarm it up here. My granddaughter and my daughter like it and they said it's better than Xfinity. I would recommend them to a friend.

We've got ADT 10 years ago. About a year after I had it, the wife went away to take the dog for a walk and left the stove on. The smoke detector picked it up and the fireman got here and took care of it. If I hadn't had ADT, I’d have some serious damage. They saved our house. That was why I still have the system because they were Johnny on the spot. I had the system upgraded not too long ago and now, I've got the alarms, motion sensors, cameras, and remote access. In addition, I haven't run across anybody from ADT that doesn't know exactly what to do and when to do it. The guy who installed the update was informative, helpful, and very clean about what he did. I recommend ADT. There are cheaper ways to go but ADT is a proven company.

We got our home security 24 years ago, and it was changed two to three different names before it became ADT three years ago. I have the alarm system then I did the cameras. I also have the dual ring, though I think it is different but the same person who set it up was with ADT. The sales reps were very pleasant, positive and outgoing. The installer was very good, helpful and tried to explain everything. He answered all our questions and even left a number to call if there's any problem. I've never had any negative experience even when my alarm goes out accidentally. They always call and if they don’t get me in my house, they call my cellphone, they text me or they send the police out if they have to. They're a little expensive starting with the time I had them, but whatever they say, they will do and they are very positive about that. You'll never be wondering. I could get a cheaper alarm system, but I'm very happy with ADT and that’s why I keep it.

I am super excited to finally have the protection my family deserves. We've talked about home security for years but we finally took the step to protect what we've worked hard for, BEFORE a break in occurred. The technician was very knowledgeable, friendly and made the process easy to understand. My kids are older teens but I now have the added security knowing they have a panic button if they're scared or they can activate the security system while they are home.

We were told it was a bad battery. We replaced battery but problem persisted. Tech checked battery and although expiration date on battery was 3 years away, his voltmeter indicated battery was bad. He replaced battery and false alarms have stopped.

I’ve had ADT systems at multiple homes. In general, I’ve been happy with the monitoring service and haven’t had issues. It’s clear that when you have an issue, the company is fully focused on getting customers and not resolving your issue. For the last 2 nights, a faulty sensor has awoken my family and the fire department several time (5 times in 2 hours starting at 3 am). ADT’s response is to schedule a technician the following week. What makes this unacceptable is that they currently advertise next day install in the area. That tells you all you need to know about the company and where their priorities are.

After giving me a contract for two years, in the amount of $29.67 tax included. This contract was provide to me on approximately 09/18/2017. However, I keep receiving bills for different amount(s). I'm very disappointed with ADT, because they are not honoring the contract given to me by their representative.

ADT has been wonderful and they are very responsive. We've had them for many years. We have a yard sign and a monitor control box at the basement entrance and in the living room. Also, the representatives are very good, nice, pleasant, and informative. One time, they called me and I followed up down in the lower monitor box and I got a call right away. They wanted to know if everything was all right and they fixed it right away. It was nice of them to call.

The ADT reps were fine and they answered my questions well. Plus there was no installation fee. However, I had to cut it down because because expenses were getting too much. They keep raising the price like everybody else. The only thing that goes off is the smoke alarm because I’m here most of the time. It would be nice to have the cameras, but it's beyond what I can afford. There’s no discount, which would help us old people since we have the most to worry about because we can’t defend ourselves. But at least ADT is reliable and they don’t feed you a bunch of garbage. I like the fact you could call here in town. With these other companies, there’s nobody here. You have to call in California or somewhere and that’s annoying.

I have been a customer of ADT for many years (8?). The service has always been fine. Last year when we needed a sensor replaced a sales person sold us on an upgrade to include interior video monitoring (which we had no need of, but since it was being presented as the same service we were getting already, why not?). He claimed it would not change our service at all. Never was it mentioned that this would then enter us into a 3 year (yes 3 years!) contract. When I tried to cancel service the early termination fee was over $600! I need to stop being so naIve as to trust sale people and read all the fine print. Ugh.

ADT technician Anthony was very professional and patient with explaining how the system works and where we were vulnerable to theft and harm. So far we are pleased with the system and have no complaints. It has been easier to learn how to use than we expected.

I use to have ADT security service and was conned into changing to Vector. The three years I was with Vector I hated the service. I changed back to ADT where I knew I could get excellent service and professional reps.

My wife and I purchased our first home in September 2016. We were very excited to start the next chapter of our lives. As everyone knows moving is hectic, it was made more stressful when an ADT sales rep decides it would be ok to just walk into my house uninvited while I was unloading my moving truck. Apparently he knew we just bought our house from some website and was telling me the importance of home security and that anyone could walk right in just as he did. I politely told him that I was very busy at the moment and it was something I needed to discuss with my wife and he would have to come back another time and to either knock or ring the bell before he came in.
Sure enough, 10 minutes after my wife pulled into the driveway, Mr ADT was ringing the doorbell. He came in with his sales pitch about how he was some area manager and how he could give us the best deal around. After an hour or so of us being physically and mentally exhausted, my wife agreed to do the installation.
Two days later, the installer showed up and was very confused on how to connect the system to our internet. Three phone calls and a visit from another installer to help activate the system shoulda been my first clue. Once the installation was complete, my instructions on how to use the system was simply download the app and enter my info. That was it. I'm pretty tech savvy so it wasn't a big deal at the time and I just wanted this guy to leave my house. I installed the app and it was easy to use for the most part except the camera I had installed would not record. Whatever, as long as I know if someone is breaking in it's fine. Well it wasn't fine, in the year I had the service the alarm was set off three times. Only once did I receive a phone call (20 minutes) after the alarm had been set off. The other two times I got an email. AN EMAIL!! That there was an intrusion alarm going off.
If that wasn't enough to make me want to cancel at that point, there was a time the panel stopped working all together, we received a phone call from technical support saying there was a problem with the battery back up and that I should go and locate the backup battery that should be the size of a boat battery either in my garage or a closet. I explained to this person that there was not a battery anywhere in my house. He proceeded to argue with me about this until I got fed up and asked for his supervisor, which by the way, no one at ADT has a supervisor. I hung up and called the number back and got someone with a clue. This guy looked at my account and said I was correct, I do not have a battery backup and that the panel itself contained the battery and he would send a battery out to me in the mail. Seven days later I received the wrong battery. Had another sent out, this time only five days to get it. No alarm service for two weeks!
Fed up with ADT, I happened along someone with a Vivint system. They were nothing but pleased with Vivint and showed me their app and all the add-ons they had with it. Shocked to see 5 cameras, sensors on every door and window, garage door opener, thermostat, doorbell camera, and automatic deadbolts on the doors I asked them how much they were paying. To my surprise, less than five dollars more than I was with just 2 door sensors, a glass break sensor, a motion sensor, and a thermostat.
I called and ordered an installation from them and I am very pleased with the decision to switch. However, when I called to cancel ADT I was told that I could not cancel because I was under contract for three years. A contract that I had never seen and apparently my wife signed on the technicans tablet at time of install. A contract that the technician said was to give him permission to do the installation. Never received a copy or anything.
The representative in billing was rude and unprofessional so of course I hung up and called back to get someone else. After being put on hold several times, transferred several times, I finally got an account manager on the phone. Well this person was as bad as the first, I asked to speak to their supervisor. Again, no one at ADT has a supervisor this guy says. Well after some few choice words and an increasing aggressive tone he finally transfers me yet again. I now talk to this new guy, explain all of my grievances and that I wanted to cancel my service. This person seemed to understand and apologized profusely but then informed me of the $1100.00 cancelation fee. I told him that there was no way I was paying that, the service provided was inadequate and that the fee must be waived. He agreed with me and notated my account. Done right? Nope.
Today, over a month later, I receive a letter in the mail saying that a payment of 1056.00 was going to be automatically debited from my account. "Like hell it is", I said. On the phone again, for over an hour, get numerous rude employees saying they cant do anything. Well I again ask to speak with someone who can, you know like a supervisor or something, yeah right no one at ADT has a supervisor. This ADT representative tells me that I have to write a letter and fax the corporate office appealing the termination fee. What is this, 1999? I said that I would rather speak with someone in the corporate office and requested the phone number. Well... ADT corporate office doesn't have phones according to this person. Really? Seriously?
So now I am going to call my bank and have them block ADT from withdrawing any more money from my account as well as post negative reviews on every review site I can find and tell every person I can to not use ADT for their home security. On top of that, I will send ADT 5.00 a month just to make sure they don't send me to collections. ADT is by far the worst experience I have had with home security and Vivint will receive all of my referrals from here on out.

The ADT reps were very responsive. There have been a couple of times that our alarm went off and we didn't intend for it to go off, and their representatives came out including the one that we talked to when we initially purchased it. They were all very nice and knew what they were talking about. The installer did the installation professionally and told me everything that he was doing. He went all over the house and informed me as to why he was doing what he was doing and what I could expect. ADT services are excellent. In fact, when I asked them for the certificate for the home to send to my insurance, they gave it to me. I would recommend them.

ADT has good ratings online. I just called them, set up an appointment and they sent someone down who evaluated the property. We talked and the person was very professional and courteous. The installer explained what I paid for and what he was going to do. I had some questions and he had more information than the rep did because he had a lot of experience with the installation. I was able to make some last minute changes and he accommodated them. Everything was good. I'm very satisfied so far.

We sold our home in May 2017 and began construction on a new home in June 2017. We had to disconnect our ADT service from the home we no longer owned. Since we had not met our 2 year contract timeline, we were required to pay a penalty of approximately $400. We were given the option of ‘pausing’ our account until we moved into our new home. Our ‘penalty’ would be waived as long as we re-signed a two year contract. We spoke to a representative numerous times about this (15+). Today we got a call from a collection agency about the $430 we owed ADT. We believed our account was in a ‘pause’ status since our home is still under construction. We have paid the penalty and will NOT be using or recommending ADT to anyone. We spent way too much time on the phone with the same incompetent sales rep who made false promises... all for nothing.

My services went out on a Tuesday and ADT called me right away. Representative 1 informed me that she reset some things on her end and that I would need to call back in 24-48 hours. After 48 hours I call and spoke with representative 2 who informed me that representative 1 gave me incorrect information and that representative 1 should have never ended the call without troubleshooting the issue and if that did not resolve my issue, a technician should have been sent out. Representative 2 could not troubleshoot my issue because I was on my way to work. I called the next day and a third representative informed me that we did not have to troubleshoot anything, and that a technician needed to be scheduled. I was given a credit to my account for the days I had gone thus far without service.
I was expecting a call from ADT to schedule a technician and never got a call. I called to cancel my service because I was losing sleep not feeling safe and could not focus leaving my home knowing it was not secured. I was told I could not cancel because that department was closed because it was the weekend and that I should call back on Monday, which was Christmas, and that someone would be available from the cancellation department to assist me. Needless to say the department I needed to speak with was closed on Monday.
I called Tuesday after a long day of work and finally I caught the department I needed to speak with to cancel ADT services. I was transferred to a representative named KAELEN and of all the representatives I had spoken to in the prior days, he was the absolute worst. I explained my situation and he started off by saying he will send out a technician. I declined the offer because it has now been a full week without my home being protected and feeling secured. KAELEN then proceeded to tell me that I will be paying a $1300 fee and if I did not pay it will go on my credit. He overtalked me consistently interrupting me while I was state my position in the matter. I request to speak with someone else that was not rude that could better assist me and KAELEN had me on hold for 35 minutes.
After being on hold for 10 minutes without KAELEN ever coming back to the phone, I used another phone where I called and was assisted by another representative whom heard the hold music from KAELEN'S call and she was able to call the provided and let me know they were closed and what my next steps should be. She also provided all information I requested after informing her that I will be filing a complaint and contacting the BBB.
Even after all the information, I was still on hold from KAELEN in which I hung up after he NEVER returned to the line after 35 minutes. The worst customer service have ever experienced especially after being patient for an entire week. If there was any chance to continue doing business with ADT KAELEN has definitely ruined it. By the way, I work for a large corporation that is responsible for referring ADT services to customers as a Partner. My company and colleagues will definitely be informed of what we are convincing our customers to deal with.
An ADT Authorized Dealer is an independently owned and operated company. They install and sell alarm equipment, but do not provide a monitoring service. They partner and contract with us to provide a monitoring service to their privately acquired customers.
For these reasons, if you were to cancel services, you would be charged a fee by the installing dealer. Additionally, ADT does not currently service this location. All service appointments would be scheduled by and completed by your installing party, for at least the first 90 days.

I've been with ADT for about 20 years. There has been a few little things over the years that had developed and they always seem to be right on the job. When I had an incident in the past, they responded by calling the police and sending someone out to my house.

With ADT, our house is reasonably free from being broken into when we lock the doors and turn on the alarm. It's doing what it's supposed to do. My husband handles the system around the house and he hasn't complained about it. We've had ADT for a number of years and we are satisfied with them. We've been happy with the service and it hasn't been a cause of any problems.

I have had ADT for nearly two years, and have had service people out to my house at least 5 times due to various issue with low battery. Today I asked for someone to come and replace the equipment because nothing else has worked. An appointment was scheduled, but I'm being charged $25 for an activation fee!! I complained about it and was told it could not be overridden, so a credit would be applied to my account to offset the fee. Ok but what about some compensation for all the issues with this system? For all the nights I couldn't sleep because the thing was going off every 30 min?
How about all the times I couldn't set the alarm to keep my house protected because I was waiting for a service tech to be sent? It's been something with this system every few months and I don't recall anyone offering me anything for my aggravation. No one even follows up to see how things are going! After all I've been through, I would think this would've been escalated by now and someone at ADT would make it their business to see through to a final resolution. But I guess not! As soon as I can afford to replace all of this equipment, I'm done with ADT. So disappointing!

One of my family members has ADT and we've had this thing for years probably about 10 years. We had Brinks and then it went to ADT. I have the door, window and motion detector. One time when I left the cat in the house, I forgot to turn the motion detector off, but they were nice about it. I am perfectly satisfied and they're doing exactly what I wanted to do.

I've had ADT since 2011. They've been around a long time and I've always heard good things about them and with their reputation, I decided to go with them. I live out in the country. I would stand on my front porch and I'd see nothing but pasture fields and mountains off in the distance. When I moved in, I had a 13-year-old daughter so I wanted to make sure that if something happens when I'm at work, somebody knows. I've had to call in customer service several times. The guy that came out to initially sell it to me was a good guy. He wasn’t pressuring and answered questions that I had. I've had a few time as far as having to have somebody come out and work on things. The people that came out and fix things were really good. They're always understanding of me and my times when I had to work. They were very accommodating to my schedule.
Initially, when the system was put in, it was put in one place. It worked for about three weeks there. Then, there was a glitch and my old desktop or the routers or wi-fi started interfering. So, it got moved to a different room. Since then, I had no problem. They moved everything for me and it didn’t cost me anything. Then the most recent issue I had was I've had a motion sensor that's been going off once we leave the house. Same motion sensor went off several times and the alert system hit my phone. I had two different persons come out. One person changed the actual sensor, put on a new sensor, and it still happened. Their rep mentioned it's because right in its path is a ceiling fan that beams constantly. They changed up the sensor. Today, we shut the fan off and we didn’t get a notification today, so maybe that's the problem.
For two years the fan has been running, it's never done it before. I thought, "Okay, maybe the sensor's old. Why don't you put in a new sensor?" But it was a different sensor. It wasn't a home-in sensor. This is a commercial sensor that you put in. The difference being is one has a 25-foot range, the other one has a 60-foot range. So, it's a lot more sensitive. And we left today to go get things done, made sure the fan was off, and we didn’t get a notification. But the time before once the new sensor was on, the time before the fan was running, we didn’t get a sensor reading. So, we're going to test it a couple more times just to make sure.
With what I've been through, the good and the bad, they've been willing to come out and talk with me. The people I talked with on the phone were very understanding, they listen. I had an incident one time. I originally bought the system back in 2011, I naturally had a contract. Once the contract ended, I decided to put up a camera on my porch pointing at the highway, just in case. The only discrepancy I had with them is when the representative that came out to sell me the camera did not make mention that it would put me back under contract. I was a bit peeved with that. So, I called them up once I found out when I looked at my bill and told them, "You all have two choices. Take me off the contract, or come and get the damn camera." They took me off the contract. They were accommodating. Not many places I've ever dealt with would take you off the contract just on a phone call.

This is the second house I've had ADT in. A good friend of mine recommended ADT and then connected us with Dianne. And then talking to Dianne she sounded very positive and very knowledgeable. There was no doubt in every word she says and even her body language was positive. And so far the equipment has been reliable. The techs were also very professional and courteous. I've been in that line of work myself and saw that these guys are good. I would recommend ADT. Some of the others that I have talked to, I couldn't believe what they were saying. There were unsure of themselves, stuttered when they spoke. But everybody with ADT are very forward and very professional. Plus they have a good product.

Rep was good, knowledgeable and did not oversell any particular level of protection, but listened to us and found the right system to suit our needs. There was a problem with one of the sensors that required a visit by a technician to re-mount it so the system would work properly. The technician was very good, but the coordination of the timing of her visit was badly handled and we waited all day for it when we should have been notified by lunch time that she would not be coming until late in the day. Frustrating, but all else about the experience has been very good.

Been a subscriber for over 18 years through USAA which highly recommend your security plan over the service plan that was installed by our builder. ADT came in and upgraded our keyboard, added a Carbon Monoxide detector and a emergency key security panic alarm and enabler. Wonderful service.

It’ll be five years this month since we started service with ADT. We purchased a new house then and the house was totally wired for security. I was familiar with ADT in terms of their performance and their reliability. So, we had an opportunity to have ADT come out and set up our security system. And we did. And we’ve been with them ever since. Their installers really didn’t have to do much since the house was totally already wired, all the windows, the doors etc. All they had to do was put in the box and wire into it and set up the various zones. So, the installation went smoothly. There was a time I called their customer service but it had more to do with pricing issues in terms of Comcast contacting me to get their security system at a fairly reduced price compared to what ADT was charging me. And ADT agreed to match it for two years. Our experience with ADT has all been good.

He wanted me to have the best possible security I could have and afford on my income, He went above and beyond to make sure that I was happy with everything. Excellent installation and explanation of the system; I needed an additional visit to fix a minor installation problem and the technician came out the next day. The fact that two technicians came out do the installation made it go quite fast; they were able to come out just a day after I called for the system.

Everything I did when I got the ADT system was over the phone, and then techs from ADT came to install the system. I have two of the motion detectors and those are the best things I like. Last month, the system went off at three o’clock in the morning. A guy came and said, “Maybe because you don’t turn the heat on out here at night or during the day,” but we turn it on when we go out there. I said, “We’re having all these alarms since 2011 but it hadn’t done that.” The guy checked it out, left, and then it went off again at three o’clock. I said, “I'm tired fooling around. Come here, take it out, bring another one. Reset all. I’m not waking up at three o’clock in the morning anymore. Nobody's leaving here until everything works.”
But the guys from ADT have been very sweet. They even lowered my monthly bill. They had sent me something saying they were going up, and I said, “You don’t go up in the middle of the year. What is going on here?” I also said they need to give a senior citizen price, which I can't believe I got. I had a friend switch from ADT, and I asked her why. She said, "ADT doesn’t seem to keep up.” I asked, “What are they supposed to keep up with? Somebody breaks in my house or comes in my porch, the alarm goes off. I also have motion detectors in my basement. What more of an upgrade do they need?” Also, I get suspicious because we’ve got people who come in the neighborhood wanting us to try their product, and I say, “You see that sign out there?” I’ve had ADT for a long time now. I was gonna go with Brinks, who was supposed to be really good, but ADT bought them and it worked out.

We’ve had ADT service for several years. Fortunately, we have not had any break-ins. We’ve had a couple of experiences where a household worker set off the alarm and we had to deal with that. We’ve had a couple of times when the battery was dead and we would get the alarm system going off and the ADT reps have been responsive. They’ve come out within a reasonable time. They’ve been good. They've always seemed courteous and good at diagnosing a problem anytime. And the other times when the alarm accidentally went off, they’ve responded appropriately. So far, our experience has been great. I would recommend ADT to someone looking for the same general service we are looking for.

I’m very satisfied with ADT. When my children first put the security system in for me, it was with Broadview, and then they sold to ADT, and I’ve been with them ever since. I just send my money one time a year. And I’ve set the alarm off accidentally about three times in the seven years I’ve had it like one time when I got up to open the door to get my newspaper before I turned the alarm off. But I’ve never had an occasion to need anything. I feel really safe when ADT's set. Three different times, I’ve just opened the door. One late evening, I had already set it and somebody was knocking on my kitchen door and I forgot to turn it off and opened it. I’ve had three times of that but in just seconds, they had called to make sure that I was all right, and that gives me real security since I live by myself. I recommend ADT all the time. In fact, I’ve had two different people to get it because of my recommendation.

I've had ADT in the house for around 20 years and they do a good job. I've never had a break in but if something goes funny they let me know. Most of the time I communicate with them online and when I deal with their representatives they are always fine. They just do what I ask them. I had a different system like 28 years ago or more and it didn't work very well. But when I got ADT it seems to work all the time. Every now and then the battery burns out but that's very rare and they put new ones in. ADT is excellent and I would recommend it.
