'Your call is very important to us...' What a drag to need to call and wait and wait and wait... some more. If one doesn't mind listening to a recording for nearly an hour then all else will be good. The call answering is my only issue with A.D.T.

I have nothing but positive things to say about ADT and the service I have received since I switched from Sonitrol. The customer service by telephone contact is great. Courteous, exemplary, unparalleled.

My interactions with ADT staff and the equipment approved by the company have been excellent. They have been quite tolerant of my foibles and mistakes. The only reason I cannot rate my ADT experience as 5 star is the problems I have had with the incomplete installation of my system. When I signed up, I pointed out that I live in a 3 story house and am not young. The salesperson assured me that they would replace the existing two control boxes. The installer put in a new box on the third floor inside the master bedroom. Then, he apologized for not having a secondary box for the ground floor - he would be back to install it on Thursday. He removed the old box and left.
I never heard from SafeStreets again. Attempts to get the secondary box were ignored. I even offered to pay extra for it, since the contract said one box. I have given up. I have learned to manage without the second box. I am moving at some point in the next year and I will move my ADT account with me. Hopefully, I can find a different company to handle the equipment.

I have and will continue to recommend ADT to friends and relatives. The customer service representatives are super friendly and know your products inside out. ADT does not flood one with emails, but are smart enough to know a monthly email with "facts" instead of only selling services and add-ons will keep customers from just deleting them. My son-in-law just installed your service and as I told he would be happy.

I had a weak battery in one of my motion sensors that caused an alarm. I was out of the State and was called. The notification was great because I was able to "disarm" my alarm. Someone was sent out just to make sure it was non-evasive. I appreciate ADT's service. I was also able to check my cameras since I have ADT Plus. Been with them over 35 years!

I always recommend to shop around but don't sacrifice security for a bargain. In the home security business you are protecting the most valuable things in your life, "your family". ADT has consistently protected my family for 20 years and has never missed a beat when it comes to customer service and response to an alarm. Ask yourself, how much is the safety of my family and property worth? Then choose the company who has proven time and time again to be the at the forefront of technology and innovation, your choice will be clear ADT.

I have in the past had good experience with ADT but I now do have some concerns. When my alarm system was through my phone line I received a call any time my alarm went off no matter how fast I reset it when I accidentally set it off. Since I did a so call upgrade I have accidentally set it off at least four times and have never got one phone call checking on if it was a true alarm of not. I have some worry and concern about this and our safety. Thinking about changing companies because I feel my increase in monthly payments is not worth the service I feel I am getting.
Hello John- We are sorry to learn of your trouble with the system and monitoring. We understand your concerns regarding ADT’s procedures in why you may not receive a live call on a tripped burglary point, when disarming your system.
If you accidentally set off your alarm and enter your code to disarm the system, you may or may not be notified. To further explain this, on a burglar alarm the signal will transmit 30 seconds after the siren activates. On fire/carbon monoxide/medical/or any type of life safety device the signal transmits upon activation of the siren. Once the alarm signal is received in the monitoring center, the agent will start notification procedures of the signal. However, if an authorized restoral code is received, the agent may disregard the alarm and an Interactive Voice Response call is placed to the premise number. This procedure is to help reduce false alarms being reported to authorities. If you would like more information regarding alarm notification procedures, please feel free to contact our 24 hour monitoring center at 1-800-238-2727.

I have been with ADT for a number of years now. I have never been late with a payment and I’ve never missed a payment. I have always received very good service from them. I called ADT to inquire about a medical alert being added to my account. My account could not be located by name, address, phone number, or account number from my bill. It took two or three individuals and finally asking for supervisor before my account Could be found. ADT even questioned whether I was sure or not if I had an account with them. They even asked me to look at my bank statement and make sure that I had an account with them.
I was finally told that they were looking at the wrong system, whatever that means. I finally told him to just forget it because if they could not find my account now I would be concerned about them finding my address or account In a medical emergency. The only reason I'm still using ADT is because the amount of Money I spent to connect my service in the beginning. I feel I was ripped off by one of your representatives. I called on a promo to get installed in my home. I ended up paying $800 for the installation. At the time I thought this was excessive. However I wanted things done to make my wife feel comfortable being home by herself when I was away. Then you promised me one monthly fee. That didn't last long before you were already raising my monthly rate. Which by the way I believe has been raised 2 or 3 times since then.
I'm using you guys now because I transferred service to my new location and I wasn't charged that much for the new installation. The installer didn't leave any ADT signs for my yard. I still haven't received them. Just out of principal, I am not going to pay for them because I don't feel like arguing over it with your team. Trying to prove I never got them, I just don't have the time to deal with that conversation. I hope this helps improve your Service.
Hi John. I apologize for your frustrating experience. We've located your account and request for the yard signs to be mailed to you. It is sneaky to say the least!
Hello Nachappa- We have looked into your account and do see that your system was upgraded on August 15th. The upgrade to your alarm system would require the signature of a new three year contract.
We have located your signed and dated contract and acceptance of the new services. If you need a copy of the signed agreement please let us know. While we do apologize for any confusion there may have been in regards to the paperwork you signed. The contract does state that is for a 36 month term. When I called to have ADT service at my new home, a deal of 29.99 was given to me and nobody mention a 1900 dollars equipment. I learned about it after the tech came and did the installation. Long story short, I signed and faxed the cancellation form to ADT within 2 days. The next day I received a phone call from ADT asking me for the reason why would I cancel the service. After my explanation, they offered to remove some of the equipment from the basement and wave the 1900$ equipment fee. They came and removed some of the sensors and smoke detectors. Later on that month, my card account was charge for the equipment. I called ADT again and after more than an hour of passing from one representative to another, the charge was refund back in my card account.
Today, I received another phone call from ADT asking me to pay 309$ again for the equipments. I gave up and wanted to cancel the service but very rudely was told from ADT customer service representative that If I want to cancel the service I should pay 1700$ as a fee for breaking the contract. I feel trapped and hopeless. How do I close this account with ADT without paying the fee? I don't know how a big company like ADT don't rate or monitor their customer service, how matters are handled by them? Are 3 days enough to help decide if you like or not a company to serve you?

Have been with ADT for 9 years and recently had my windows and doors replaced. After the work was done I noticed that a sensor did not work and called ADT to replace the sensor. After finding out the cost I asked about just upgrading the unit since it was 9 years old already. I had a service date set up a couple days later and paid the $100 fee. On the installation date we were called and the office manager stated that the installer had called off. So we set up a second date and it was a month later. We asked why so long and we were told that they we didn't have anyone trained to do the job. So I told my wife to cancel.l.
A few weeks later I was contacted by ADT and offered a win back offer by the rep. He told me that I would get the same package I asked for and added a few more items for the inconvenience. I agreed to $250. I asked him how long till it could be installed, he then put me on hold and when he came back on apologized while telling me it would take about a month till they could do the job and he would make it $200 for the job for all of the problems. I agreed. After getting the installation done on December 8th. I looked at the bill and it was $550. I called the billing department on that Saturday and was told there was nothing to do. Call back on Monday. When I called back Monday, the gentleman told me that my bill would be adjusted and never was, leaving me with a $550 bill for my aggravation and time wasted. Than you ADT and your "win back offer"!
Hello Devin. I'm very sorry for this experience. We've located your account and do see that you were only supposed to be billed $200.00 for the install that took place. We'll place a refund for $214.79 to be completed back to the same card that was charged for the installation. -Andrew

ADT's security devices are of good quality. And their representatives have been very good as well. I’ve been with ADT for more than 15 years, and I've had only false alarms. I wasn’t here one time and my 86 years old mother was trying to cook something and the smoke alarm went off. The police came and ADT called me at work, too, and I came home and everything was fine. Also, if I happen to go out a door when the security is turned on and it goes off, I immediately get a call. If I am not getting to the phone fast enough, then my relative who is also on the list, gets a call. I’d tell my friends to check ADT out.

I’ve had ADT for almost seven years and their response was very good when I had a break in last week. It was at the house that I don’t live in on a full-time basis. I would trust as soon as the alarm went off, the burglars left and ADT called me. The representative I spoke with told me there was a break in and I advised her to call the Sherriff’s Department which she did. The burglars were druggists looking for money, jewelry and things that they can use to get cash and drugs, and there’s nothing in that house that qualifies to that. Without ADT, they would have ransacked the house looking for what they were looking for which isn’t there. ADT is a wealth and I'd recommend them.

He did run into a problem while setting up the system but he called a more experienced technician who came by to assist and he was done in a reasonable length of time. I was somewhat surprised to find that the $100 mentioned in the flyer was not the only thing I had to pay for. I did not expect to have any more charges than the $100. The only thing pleasant about my experience was the technician who came out to install the system. He was very professional. I was renting and received one of ADT's "Free Systems" flyers in the mail. Knowing nothing is free and knowing there was a catch, I called in to inquire. The customer service was great, I sat on hold for maybe 2 minutes of that - the rep on the phone was very pleasant as well and assured me, "sir, when we say free, we really mean free. You just pay the monthly monitoring fees".
The thing I disliked and I'm sure this is ADT's way of suckering people in - the technician drilled a hole in my wall and installed the keypad before sitting down with me and showing me my options. So if I don't buy - I have a giant hole in my wall that I gotta cover up with a picture. The technician was very pleasant so I didn't want to be that customer. After he installed the keypad, we sat down and discussed the rest. He said "I can finish this install for you today for this much due today". That amount was over $3,000.00. He needed it all that day. No payment plans. No nothing. Finally I told him, I was told the equipment was free, we talked, he called his manager and I ended up paying $300.00 that day for a step-down system and less equipment. Not a big deal to protect my family but it's just the point that ADT is a bunch of con artists. So at this point, I have a security system. Yay!
About a week later I started having trouble with signals. The monitoring center had no record of the trouble signals, couldn't tell me why I was receiving them and just told me "if you keep having problems, call us back". First - if I could have fixed it myself or thought it was a glitch, I would have fixed it myself. So whatever I hung up. A day later, I called back with the same issues. ADT couldn't setup a service call and had to be my "authorized dealer". So I waited for 2 weeks for a call from them and nothing.
I went online to chat with someone, they said I had to call and speak to someone. I've been there, done that. They said I had to wait for my dealer to call me back to setup a service call, which I've been waiting on for 2 weeks. So then I submitted a form online to contact ADT about my dealer not getting in touch with me. Don't you know - less than 5 minutes later I got a call from someone offering me a free security system. How is it they are quick to respond to new business but not take care of their current customers?
There's so much more but let me leave you with this. DON'T USE ADT! They are horrible. Yeah they are a "big brand" - which I will never understand. I'm sure there are better companies out there. I left my equipment in the house I moved from as a gift to my landlord because ADT is such garbage. Merry freaking Christmas.

Turns out I actually have a contract with a company called “Safe Haven” a “authorized dealer” that uses ADT’s branding name to trick clients into services. ADT will not help me with my outdated equipment and push the blame to Safe Haven and vise versa.
ADT has no problem charging me monthly for services and have their name on my monthly statement yet refuse to help me with my equipment or services received from Safe Haven. Extremely disappointed with the lack of customer service and I’m wondering how a company can allow “Safe Haven” to scam customers using their name and products. Safe Haven will quote you prices/packages different than ADT and use old/used equipment with ADT logo. Safe Haven is ruining ADT’s name and I will never use either company again. I will continue to warn anyone who considers ADT.

We recently had an indication that the status of the battery for the CPU was low. It beeped and I noted that for 12 hours and then it disappeared so I called ADT. The person I spoke with was very good. She said that it shows in our system that it was restored and has nothing to do unless it reoccurs and there’s a battery failure. It recharged itself because it’s always plugged into an outlet. It hasn’t done that before and maybe it was beginning to decline, but it recharged. She also told me where I could get a replacement battery when I asked her where to buy it if it ever fails and dies for good. Our equipment was from ITI and we had it installed not by ADT long time ago. And then we got ADT for the service. I've been their customer for 25 years and my experience has been very satisfying and reassuring, and they let me know what to do if a certain situation recurs.

I’ve been with ADT for more than 5 years. They upgraded my services to the Pulse service and now I have a whole lot more features including the cameras. I can see everything. Everything is working pretty perfectly right now. The only thing is I didn’t know they needed extra lighting for the outside perimeter. An extra light is needed for the night vision to really enhance it. Other than that, they were excellent all the way around. Everybody I've worked at ADT with was an A plus.

I've been with ADT since 1996 and the alarm's not as loud as it used to be. My neighbors don't hear it when it goes off but every time it does, I get a call right away. The last time it went off, it was four o’clock in the morning and I forgot I had it on. I'm not sure what time it was down in Texas, but the guy called right away and apologized for calling early. I told him I was awake and that the alarm had gone off. I thought I put in the code to cancel but evidently I didn’t so it was good that he called. I’m very satisfied with ADT and I feel very safe.
The next thing I want is the ring for the front door and the backyard because people are doing weird things in this area in the middle of the night. I even tried to get the people in the neighborhood to get ADT when I first had it because we got 15 houses across the street from me and every one of those houses were broken into. But eventually, they got their security systems.

We have had ADT as long as we have been in this house, and it was just about a year ago when we converted to wireless. We have fire protection and fire detectors, which we have up and downstairs. We also have the regular system - motion detectors, sirens, etc. The rep we dealt with was great and we are really happy with ADT. They came when they said they would, and they did what they say they would. When we have questions, they've been able to answer them. Installers were great too - they were neat and clean, and did not leave a mess. They did a good job. Once, the alarm went off and they responded immediately. They do what we are paying them to do. We would recommend them. My brother has it now and we like the wireless a lot.

ADT monitor was already set up in the house when we moved in. Their service has been great so far. I accidentally set it off just the other day and they called pretty promptly and made sure that everything was okay. As soon as they call, they let us know who they are. And then they ask for special code number and I just have to give it to them and then they let me know what’s going on. They’re really personable and they don’t make me feel like I’m an idiot. Every single time I’ve messed it up, they’ve been right there to tell me, and even when I had questions. We have a little dog, and I didn’t understand how to be able to let him out of his kennel so he could roam around and have the motion sensor off so that the outside would be protected. They told me that up to 20 pounds the motion sensor won’t even pick him up, but they told me what to click if I'm unsure whether or not it's going to set if off.

ADT has been around for a very long time, has a great reputation and was the first alarm company name we thought of when seeking to find our home security system. HOWEVER we feared the cost would be much higher when seeing ads from so many other companies and DIY options available. So we checked every source out there in depth before deciding what was the best for us. In the end we found ourselves right back at ADT. I am employed within a police department for over 30 yrs now and knew what all I demanded with a system, so cost was the main purpose for the lengthy search.
My review and testimony would be that ADT should, at least, be a company to research, because what we found is that there are many options on how and what price to equip your home with the best system and keep it at the price you choose. So, after a lot of negotiating (with only the installation company who sells the equipment and does the install that works with ADT) we found that the home visit was worth the lengthy time it took to get to finally what we wanted at a price we wanted.
ADT itself is a great company however their installation company salesman reminded us of a used car salesman, with that being said, we have now purchased the perfect alarm system with everything we insisted upon and at the price we wanted. Once the price was settled and in writing on our contract, we finally enjoyed our salesman! So just understand the salesman's job is to sell and install equipment, he is a great guy however still a salesman doing his job. Just know that YOU are in control. So in the end we purchased everything we wanted and now have the best monitoring alarm company out there, in our opinion. So, if ADT, the best company out there in our opinion for our protection, is the company you want - go through the home visit and car salesman to get it. We couldn't be happier. After all is said and done now, we have the best for a price that equals the rest!

At this point, my concerns with the system have been resolved. We will see if we start having problems again a month from now. All in all I have had to stay home from work for a total of 12 hours (three times at 4 hour blocks because you are not able to predict your appointment times with any more accuracy than that). I have had to replace a battery out of my own pocket for the first time it went bad and I have received no compensation for that or the many hours I spent waiting for your technicians to show up. I will say, however, that the man who did show up was very polite and did a nice job. He apologized about the service I received via phone. Still - at this point, I would not recommend ADT over other companies.

While we have used ADT for several years, I called about 6 months ago to cancel because they had raised the price so many times it was nearly double what it was when we started using ADT. They agreed to move our price back down to what we started with an 'upgrade' our system if I signed a 3 year contract that would keep them from raising our prices during that time period. They sent a technician that I had to wait FOUR HOURS for, and that person did not have the right equipment so they had to set up another FOUR HOUR time block.
Then, about 5 months later, the battery died. I spent an hour online with a technician only to determine I had to order it online and wait for it to be delivered. We replaced it and now, one month later, the battery is dead again. This caused the alarm to let off a stream of beeping - generally in the middle of the night. So I called and they tried to tell me that it was my electrical system.
After arguing and being put on hold for 20 minutes I assured them it was not and they said they would have to send a technician but due to the difficulty they would not charge me. I was surprised that they would even consider charging for a call regarding their equipment. When I first signed up they said that they stop by periodically to check in on things and make sure the equipment is good. That NEVER happened and now they say they charge but won't do so this time.
So ONE MONTH later, I now have to wait during another FOUR HOUR block of time for a technician to come out. I said that this was unacceptable so she offered to pay for the battery. I asked about the battery I already had, and the 12 hours of my time that was already in to waiting for them and she said there was nothing she could do about it. I asked about canceling and she was unwilling to do so even though their equipment is faulty. So apparently when you sign a contract with them - it does not matter how crappy their equipment is, nor how much their staff argue, or how much of your time and resources they use - there is no way out. So do NOT sign a contract with ADT. Go with someone else. Their customer service is awful, their equipment does not work and it is a total sham.

Had several issues in 2015 with repairing 4 system faults with an existing system purchased in 2005 in a rental property I owned in CA, and had entered into contract to sell. They refused to service the malfunctioning ADT equipment without an account, and at no time was I told it involved a 24-month commitment. If told, I would have immediately declined as the house was sold and was closing within a few weeks. A landline was needed to confirm the repairs, at a $36.99 monthly monitoring charge, which I was told could be transferred to the new owners. The repair person came in, removed the existing controller saying it was outdated, and without saying anything further started installing a wireless controller.
At that time I specifically asked if the contract could be transferred to the new owners and was told "yes, no problem, one simple phone call to 800 238 2727 and the account can be transferred to the new owners". Two faults remained after the repair which I was unable to reach the installer to resolve. New owners took possession within a few days, called ADT and was promptly told the contract could not be transferred and they said I had to deal with a different company (Protect Your Home) who would call within 24 to 48 hours. Received a call 3 days later and was told I'd have to pay a 75% cancellation fee. Efforts to escalate the issue were ignored by a rude customer person.
Received my credit card statement a few weeks later to find an unexpected $741.20 equipment charge, immediately called my CC company to dispute the charge, and was told a second $741.20 charge had just been made. I had a written record of all calls, dates and names, mailed it in and they conferenced in PYH customer service to discuss the charges, and they were just as rude as before, stating the equipment charges totaled $2800.00. None of which was in the contract, including any amount for a monthly monitoring fee which they also tried to jack up to $56.00. At this point I replaced my credit card to avoid further fraudulent charges. They are required to respond in writing within a certain period of time, which they failed to do so. All fees were credited to my account and back charged to PYH.
One year later (summer '16) I receive a vague VM saying, “Call this number, and don't use your speakerphone if anyone is near as it could be embarrassing.” Called and sure enough it's PYH trying to collect a debt. Needless to say I didn't pull my checkbook out or wish them a happy 4th of July. Received a call today, December 7th, 2017, while refusing to state who was calling, asked me to identify myself and the last four digits of my SS #. Twice they refused to identify themselves so I confirmed myself, they then said they were a collection arm of PYH, at which point needless to say I did not wish them a Merry Christmas.
The Attorney General from multiple states, the BBB, and management from ADT will receive a letter regarding highly predatory business and collection practices. A word of caution, keep accurate and detailed notes, only sign written contracts, and be aware of the 48/72 cancellation clause, and put it in writing along with the fax number it's sent to if you cancel.

When I walk through the door and I forget that the alarm is on, it goes off and they'll call immediately. I'm okay with ADT but I would prefer the new company called Ring. ADT refuses to remove equipment from my home, which I own mind you, that was set up by a previous tenant of my address. ADT is fully aware that my previous tenant was removed from the residence for plotting a theft of my home. I scheduled 2 appointments to have new equipment installed under our own name. We were charged $105.78 for each appointment. ADT finally came out to do a review with us (was supposed to be an install) days later from the first appointment, only to tell us that we cannot have the old equipment removed from the previous tenant as there needs to be a police report showing theft. It was explained to them again that there was no theft, but we thwarted a plot of a theft from taking place. We also explained that since a crime did not take place that a police report could not be made for plots of theft. They insisted they required a police report for theft.
Is this ADT telling me that they require me to be robbed before they honor their agreement which I paid for twice? If so a company like this should not be able to operate. So we are still sitting with a potential thieves system on my residence, where this untrusted person has full access to the system & its functions remotely, $211.56 total now stolen by ADT which they refuse to refund, no new equipment which I paid for twice & no new service. I have 2 different digital receipts for the install of new equipment payments. Since this has happened I have been literally stuck at my own home since November 5th. It took me from November 5th to November 28th (1st receipt) with their horrendous run around customer service (which actually should be called customer theft instead of service) to get them to agree with providing me a new service (which they are not providing).
Secondary receipt I am waiting for my bill to show in the mail to provide a pic of that. I do not have an order number as ADT customer theft said I will get one from the installer as my account is a switchover with new equipment from a previous account. Due this experience I have not only experienced high levels of stress, but I have also experienced pain & suffering. I see a lawsuit following this review. I will be adding this review to my tweets & FB where 480,000 people just in America follow me, with millions more planet wide. Thanks for nothing ADT. You're a 5 star company so you claim & I am absolutely unsatisfied.

I have an industrial bell for my old system, which was not attached to any group, and it’s much louder and it really scares people away. They need a better alarm. It should be louder and noisier, not a high-pitch squeal. Also, it's disappointing that they don’t have somebody who actually comes to house in their patrol cars like some do.
The people who have called when we had a couple of false alarms have been very good, and they’ve been right on the spot. I like the phone call, and it's good that they also do email. They were just doing email before, but that's not helpful if you’re not at your computer. So they need to just stick with calling people since it works well. Overall, ADT has been effective. The installer told us about the 6 month "worry free" guarantee and if we have any issues within 30 days we can change our minds.
The system goes off by itself, needs the code five times before disarming, or does not arm at all. When I call customer service, I got hung up on and received zero empathy. We had enough! I was told the tech would call me 30 minutes before the schedule time plus they would send a picture of the tech prior to the appointment. The day of the appointment I did not receive a prior call nor did the tech show up nor did I get email. Thirty minutes after the appointment I decided to call ADT. Once I reached someone at customer service they couldn’t tell me what went wrong. They asked me to call back in 30 minutes, I demanded that they call me back.
Two hours later and tech showed up unannounced from a sister company of ADT. The tech look at my setup and told me it would cost over $400.00 to install a system. I showed the tech the flyer and his response was that’s was regional franchise promotion and corporate doesn’t recognize this offer. That’s when things went from bad to worst. ADT totally wasted my time, they send out fake promotions and then try to hook you. For a level 5 security company they act more like scammers than a legitimate company. The good news is this forced me to research other options and there are many options that are cheaper and seem to have a better rating. Before thinking of contacting ADT, search Google for the best alarm companies and you will find many other option that offer the same service but with better monthly fees. Shame on you ADT.

They are really quick to say, “Let’s try the solutions that we can try online. And then if that doesn't work, we're sending someone." So, our experience has been good. The ADT install teams were very good too, I couldn't ask for more. So far, we've been really happy with ADT's speed of service. It's not just the quality of service, it's that someone comes very quickly. And in terms of a security system, that's the thing that means the most. Somebody comes and says, “We can fix it. If we can't fix it, we'll replace it." So, the speed of response is important to me.

Unfortunately this has been the worst experience ever. They told me they could reinstate my current wireless system but when the tech came they wanted to put wires all over my house, downgrade my keypad, and then found out they charged me a week before even coming to my home over 150.00 for doing NOTHING. When I called Protection1 to have them reactivate my service (since I was told they are the same family) they then got into their system and cancelled my appointment. Then the following Monday the manager of the rep that cancelled my service called again to set up a new system in my house which I DO NOT WANT. Hello Sharon- Thank you for reaching out, Sharon. We have located your accounts and have had a change to review.
Please be advised that Protection1 and ADT are in the process of a merger but primarily remain 2 separate companies. Even so, we have an agreement not to compete in the marketplace. We apologize how this has impacted you.
You have an active account with ADT at Blue Crystal, that is under agreement, there is no pending cancellation for this site. Additionally, I do not see that the new homeowners have established services at this location yet, so your terms for this location are still valid.
ADT's relocation policy stipulates that a new system/account be purchased at the new site. The previous account and contract are cancelled. As a courtesy, ADT will then waive any any applicable termination fees that remain and provide a discount towards the new equipment purchased. If you move into a site that has pre-existing, functional, up-to-date ADT equipment, you may choose to activate this instead.
Separately, ADT's internal reactivation policy stipulates that if a new person(s) move into your previous location and obtain services through ADT directly, we will waive any outstanding termination fees for your account. This is also done as a courtesy and not part of the agreement terms.
If we are able to be of greater assistance reviewing this matter with you, please private message us or E-Mail us at AlwaysThere@ADT.com. ~Tréchell

By the time I realized it wasn’t where I wanted it, he’d already installed it. But the spot he chose is what he thought was best. Also, they lost the old analog network way back. They updated the systems and had a little trouble doing it, but once they got it all sorted, it worked great.
Customer service has always been good. They’re a national network. You call the call center, you get people to know what’s going on. When things go wrong, they seem to respond correctly. For the few times where the alarm has actually gone off, they’ve called and then they dispatch. It’s also nice that now I can use my mobile phone and it monitors the system a little better. I have recommended them. I've been with them for fifteen years and I’m pretty happy with them.

We have been with ADT the 10 years we've lived here, plus the many years when we lived in Virginia. We have a couple of motion detectors in our new home and we use the keypad. Their service was excellent. Two nights ago, the alarm was set and my husband noticed that there was a light in the basement. So, he went down and he set the alarm off. He’s on one of those chairlifts, so he was yelling at me, and I ran down and got the phone and took care of the alarm. Their call to us was quite swift and their reps were very nice because they did not send the police. It was a good experience.

We have two keypads and two motion detectors inside, and we have our doors and some windows alarmed. We’ve also updated to the Pulse which eliminates the need to use the landline connection outside. We’ve had ADT's service since 2008, and we have experienced good satisfaction. We have no complaints, with the exception of the fact that the monthly fee keeps going up substantially. I started out at $30 some a month. Now, I’m at $56 and some odd change per month for basically the same service.
Everybody knows about ADT. They enjoys a great reputation because of their “brand”, but at some point, because there are so many other companies out there now that offer basically the same service at much lower prices. We’re going to have to evaluate in our own situation at some point whether it’s really worth paying double that of some other company. The cost is going to outweigh the value.

The company that was representing ADT was horrible. They told us everything was free. We didn't believe it but we did the paperwork and decided to go with it. I was reading the papers and thought afterwards, if everything is free, why do we have to pay $123 when the guy puts the unit in. So I called the place and a girl answered the phone. She was very nice and told me we'll be paying for three months of service upfront. I told her I'm cancelling and don't want it. The next thing I heard was a man on the phone, "Yow! What's happening today there?" I asked him if he always talks to a prospective customer like that and it is definitely not professional.
That's why I ended up going on my USAA website to get the actual corporate number for ADT. When I got them, it was a whole different world. It was great. When I called ADT, I was testing the water. The sales guy I talked to was very nice, pleasant, and professional. We got talking about what it was going to cost and when he said, "Do you have 600 and some dollars?" I said it's a little steep especially when you're retired and live on limited income. The price went down to $350 to a very low $153. He told me to put $100 upfront today and the 50 some dollars to the rep when he comes.
I asked about how to make payments and he asked to do a quick credit check. He came back and said I could pay whatever and whenever I want. I could pay by the month, online or call the payment in, whichever is easy for me. It is too good to be true because the other company told me I had to pay three months at a time. He said, "I am so sorry. But no, this is the corporate office for ADT and this is what it will be." So it was good.
We now have ADT for almost three months, and I love the camera to the doorbell. If someone comes to the door, my phone rings like the doorbell and I just hit it and I can see exactly who's standing there. It's fabulous and the best money I'd ever spent. Probably, after the first of the year, we're going to look into getting Ring through ADT. It's a sensor spotlight with a camera so that when my husband's coming home in the evening and he hits a certain spot by our driveway, the light will kick on and the camera will open up and I can see him pulling the garage.
There's so many good features to the security system. If my door opens, my chime goes off and I know somebody's opening my door. The two floodlights, once somebody gets to a certain point in the area of the camera, it will go off on the phone and I can open it up and ask that someone. Then I can hit another button and it's an alarm that goes off. We had a little bump in the road with the billing, but we got it straightened out.
I'll definitely recommend ADT. I have a girlfriend who has a security system and when they came over one day and rang my doorbell, my hands were wet so I just touched my phone and I told them to give me a sec. They were so stunned that I can talk to whoever is outside. She was flipping out. She has a contract right now, but she's definitely going to make a change. I'm 69 years old and at my age, I never thought that I would be comfortable with this system. It's the best.

They said my next auto pay would be prorated until Nov 27th, but I see they again charged a full month for $63.69 on Nov 14th. We signed up originally with Brinks and we changed to ADT as time went on. It's been a lot of changes, but it's all been for the good. I'm big fan of the Pulse system. With it, I have a hold online and I'm able to control lights and things through my phone if we go away for the evening. We also have the typical door window motion sensors. We upgraded two years ago to the latest equipment and everything made sense. I've also dealt with the ADT folks and they have always been above board, very professional and courteous. Nothing is too simple or a waste of their time.
I've had a few issues with some lights and servers the other day and the reps I worked with were great. They replaced all my batteries. I also had a fit with one of the motion detector covers and the gentleman walked me right through it. After I spent an hour trying to do it, he got me on the phone for five minutes and it was done. I’m 91 years old and I decided that I needed a little something more than my cats to alarm. When a stranger comes around, one of my cats would run and hide under the bed, and another one would come and jerk to attention. But I felt like that they might be asleep when I got a visit from somebody. So I got ADT and so far, I haven't had any problems with their service. But the mechanism on the wall says that if something bad happens or in case of emergency, call ADT. But off the top of my head, I don’t know their number. I would have to look and look and look to find their number. So on that little thing on the wall, instead of having the word ADT, they should have a number so that all I have to do is look at that and dial the number.
One time, when I needed some attention from ADT, I called but I could not get anyone. Luckily, I knew the telephone number for the young man who sold it to me and I called him. He is no longer employed by ADT but he did have a number for me to use. He was very nice, very personable and very helpful. Then, a couple of days ago, there was a strange noise coming from my mechanism. But my son was here so he called and got it taken care of. The service is and "was" fine. I didn't have a problem with the service, I would've recommended ADT to all my friends... Until now! My problem is when I first got my ADT alarm (5 years ago) I needed a co-signer, so I had my cousin co-sign along with me. I am single and was the responsible party for paying the bill at an apartment in KC, Mo. This past June 1st 2017, I bought a home in Raytown, Mo. I called ADT to have my service moved to my new home. They told me fine, all I needed to do was to bring the two motion detectors with me to the new place. And to leave the main box in the apartment. May 31st they told me they turned the service off at the apartment, June 2nd they hooked up service at my new home.
I notice that every month since I moved I would get a call saying that they weren't getting a signal at the apartment. I found out they were double billing me for the apt. and my home. I didn't realize they were taking it out of my account because my new service is also automatic withdrawal, just notice I was getting double billed October 31st. Now they want to tell me I can't get my money back from the apartment because my cousin who was the co-signer didn't send them a letter of cancellation. But from my understanding of a co-signer, all they are for is to pay the bill if I didn't. They knew they were supposed to cut the service off, if they didn't... Why would they tell me to bring the motion detectors??
I've been paying double since June 2017. Oct. 31st I called them. Talked to a representative with the number **, he told me all I have to do was have my cousin send the letter and state when the cancellation was which would have been May 31st, and I would have my money back in my account by the end of Nov., we faxed it immediately. Now they want to tell me they're not going to give me my money back. I feel that is a total sham. They're losing a dedicated customer who's been with them for over 5 years, who never missed a payment. That's not right!!! P.S. I'd also like to add that I called ADT/Defenders 3 times today 11-27-17, the first two people I talked to hung up on me, the third time they kept sending me back and forth between ADT and The Defenders in which I got no answer that made any sense. A VERY DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER IN THE KC AREA.

I have talked to customer service until I am blue in the face with the Aug, Sept, Oct and Nov billing at the higher rate. AFTER three months I was told a NEW contract would have to be initiated to "fix" the original error. My Nov billing was still at the higher rate even AFTER a rep came to my office to sign the corrected contract. NOW they do not even have any notes or evidence such an appt was made or that the rep even came to my office.
The left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. I told the supervisor today surely there was a home security company who could assist me with my request and provide great customer service as well. NOT ONE rep has asked me "What would it take to make you happy so you would stay with us?". DO not waste your precious time and energy with this incompetent company! I’ve also had a couple of issues where I needed to have a battery replaced in the control box. They didn’t want to cover that, but I argued that I have full coverage of the whole system and they ended up covering it. It’s a great value for the product. And I also do the annual pay, so it saves me more money. However, in times of emergency, if the alarm goes off, the call representative time could be a little bit quicker because there have been a few times when we’ve had false alarms and they didn’t call as quick as I would like.

ADT seems very helpful and friendly. We have all the features in their package but we don’t use the motion detector because we’ll probably get caught up in it ourselves. One time, it had set itself off in the middle of the night by the glue coming unstuck from one of the doors and it was just flying off. That was a little bit scary. The machine to turn it off was downstairs so, when you’re upstairs and you hear this sound and you know it doesn’t sound good, something is wrong. Do we go downstairs? What do we do? Only to find out that the thing came unstuck and flew up. Our son had accidentally set it off when we first got it, so he had the cops come to the door. He thought he did what he was supposed to do and cleared it, but he didn’t so the cops showed up. The gentlemen that have come out here have always been very nice.
The only thing we really, really have a lot of trouble with is the little button that you carry with you for turning it off and on. The only thing my husband and I can come up with is the steel siding. It seems to turn it on with no problem, but it doesn’t want to turn it off. Their rep messed with it. He’s walked the driveway with it. He’s told us different things to try to do such as, “Well, maybe if you rolled in your car window and put the little button thing out of the car and point the key fob in the direction and hold it, count to five, maybe that’ll work.” Sometimes it had but most times, it hadn’t. Nevertheless, for what they do, they do a good job. They’re a bit pricey though. When we first got this, we really didn’t shop around to find where there were others out there. But the people who have come have always been very nice. They do a good job other than being able to figure out why the key fobs won’t work.

I’ve got a very basic package and I also have a button I can wear if I’m alone which I can just press to get help. So far, I’ve been really happy with them. There were a couple of times when I really messed up and I forgot to turn the alarm off going outside and so, I had to get in. Their reps responded right away, which was impressive. They were always very nice and very helpful. When ADT took over, their installation team came in and checked the system to make sure it was okay. They said it was and they’ve been good.

We've become more and more aware that our society isn't taking care of its people very well anymore and wish to do it less and less. Because of that, we knew that because we don’t care for each other that some of us are going to fall by the wayside and become thieves. That’s normal and there’s no surprise there. It's not because they’re good or bad people, it’s because they’re trying to survive. We're sad about that, but we work hard for what we have, too. So, we got a protection system in the house. We originally had Platinum Protection and they were bought out by ADT. The switch over was seamless and their service has always been good.
We like the online way that we could go and test the system now. We also ended up adding on some more motion sensors about three months ago. Before, somebody could get in one of our corner rooms easily, but now they couldn't get in. That felt good and we’ve been using those sensors a lot more recently. But when we put it on the “away”, then we sleep upstairs where there are no motion detectors, the system takes about a minute of this beep, beep, beep, before it finally sets and I'd like to shorten that time. I’m sure it can be adjusted. I just haven’t bothered them to do that.
Also, one time, we put a motion sensor in our dining room but at that time we didn’t have a gas insert in our fireplace yet. We had it for a month or so there, then when we put the gas insert on, that gas insert would activate the motion sensor when we would leave. When it got to winter and we kept the gas insert running since it’s a nice way to heat the house, we came home and the police were here. That happened three times now and I felt so bad. I ended up taking the sensor out of that room and moving it into another place. It solved the problem and it’s still covering the area sufficiently. It was a very easy fix once I decided to go ahead with it. However, I was a little surprised that that technology had that little glitch in it.
So far, every time I've had service from ADT's team, they have been pretty quick and I haven’t had to wait long on the telephone. But when I was going to get motion sensors and I was deciding where ultimately they would be placed when the guy got here, I talked to a woman and she was not only unclear about exactly how they work, she was incorrect as well and I don’t think she understood about motion detectors. ADT should lock down exactly how their sensors work and get a real understanding of that to their people so that they know how to explain that to somebody in a good and clear language because that really matters where people put them in case there’s a problem with things like a fireplace.
For instance, I wanted to put a motion sensor out in this area where we have a whole bunch of windows. I thought since it’s a motion detector, if some person would walk outside the window, that would activate it. When I asked ADT's reps about that, they said that could happen. But I looked it up and I found out that it couldn't happen. So they gave me the wrong information and they didn’t know the correct answer so they made something up.
Another interesting thing that happened was when the guy was here installing the motion detectors, I asked him why our monthly payment went from $39 to $50 something. He asked if we have cameras and when we said we didn't, he said that that amount was not correct. So, I went in and called ADT about it. They came through on that and gave us a $400-credit for all the overcharging. It turned out that they had been overcharging us for a year and a half but that was no hassle. It was just an oversight in the accounting and they got it adjusted accordingly. It’s a very honest kind of business and I love ADT for that.
Other than those scenarios, we feel safe having the security system and we have the peace of mind that when we have that on and we're upstairs, if something goes on, we won’t be in the middle of our sleep when it happens. We'll be woken up and I’m amazed how much that matters. Also, all told, in the entire time we’ve had the system, there’s been four false alarms as it were and those were all our fault. So they weren’t any fault of the technology.

The ADT scam. Avoid it at all costs. The ADT saga continues. Please note that the condo I bought already had a system. When I called them I asked them to reactivate it and add a couple of components. I had a keypad already but it was not in a desirable location. I asked for a second keypad, another motion sensor, and a couple of additional window sensors. When the rep talked to me on the phone they promised me $1072 in free equipment, a 100.00 gift card, state of the art equipment, professionally installed, and walked thru an order that met my requirements.
I ended up with a siren and light that is attached to the eave outside of the front porch of my condo (a location we can't legally use), a front door sensor stuck below the one that was already there (looks really bad), a motion detector somewhere (although I don't know which one is active since all the old equipment is still here), a couple of glass break sensors, and nothing on the windows or the slider. The reps all told me about the "state of the art” sensors they could use that would detect anyone trying to break the glass but the installer told me he could not use them unless I wanted to put something in the bottom of the slider to stop it from opening. He was afraid the door would hit the sensor and set it off. My second keypad is sitting on the floor.
The gift card. Another deceptive piece. I wondered about it so I went back thru the documents they sent me when they did the install. Keep in mind that they use DocuSign so there are no hard copy docs. Page five of the file talks about the gift card. To get it you have to go to a link, the link has you print a piece of paper that you have to fill out, and mail in. You have to include a copy of the agreement and send them a MONEY ORDER OR CASHIER’S CHECK to cover shipping and handling. If you don't send it within 30 days the offer is void. This is like something out of a bad movie.

I'm highly satisfied with ADT's service. They are so good when I need to contact them. Their technicians are terrific. There have been many occasions when I've called, especially when we were first getting the cameras hooked up, and I have been absolutely impressed by how courteous and talented they are. The telephone service is not usually the best, especially when it's tech-related, and their technicians are so good at walking us through things and getting us help. I had one guy come and he was here for so long, and he was kind of sad because he couldn't seem to fix the issue. But he managed to fix it and he was quite relieved and happy when he did. And then he made sure that we had his name because he said he knows the system so when we need help again, we can call him.

My home was robbed in broad daylight while I was at work, so I wanted to invest in a security package. My interactions with the sales rep at ADT were wonderful. When I called, she explained to me all the different things that I could get and I picked the ones that I wanted. She was very professional and she did a great job. I got a service package that includes an in-house motion detector and devices on my front door, back door, and the door that leads into my garage.
In contrast, the installer complained that ADT should have sent a guy from around here instead of sending him from Charleston. Also, he didn't explain the motion detector to me and I just read about it in the book later on. I gave him a check like they told me to do. But he never turned the check in at the ADT office because they kept saying that I owed them money. That was almost four years ago, but that check has never been cashed. I just figured that the installer had come late and he was tired, and he wanted to go home.
On the other hand, the customer service reps have been good. I called ADT last December to cancel my service because I had retired and I wasn't getting my money right away, and I was afraid that I couldn't afford the service. But the rep put me on hold, then she came back and they lowered the price, so I kept the service. The other day, I forgot to turn the alarm off when I left the house to go to the store. When I came back, ADT had called and a police officer had come to my home. I told the rep to cancel the alarm, but she said that they had already been here and all the doors were locked, but that was my fault.

We had an ADT system in Georgia that we never used because it was so complicated and it had different areas and different sections and we never could figure out how to use it. And then, we moved to San Antonio in this little, tiny house and a lot more people around. We’ve always heard ADT was a great company so we thought, we would go ahead and get it installed. I did some digging around to see how complicated it would be and found out that it wasn’t very complicated at all. So, we got it put in. ADT to me has always been the first name in home security. In my mind, ADT is the safest home security system you can get. I got the one where if they break the glass, the sensors on the doors go off, as well as the keychains that we can turn on and off from outside the house. But we don’t use those. We just got a simple system.
So far I'm very satisfied with them. They only thing that I’m not satisfied with was when we had the system put in two years ago and there’s a lot of confusion. We paid $8000 to have the sensors put in and a couple of smoke alarms. And then a week later, the ADT guys showed up at the door and said, “Oh, you went with an outside company or something.” And we had no idea. We thought ADT was ADT and you order it, and they come and do it for you, and it’s everybody’s same set price. Apparently, there are independent contractors that can just gouge the daylight out of you and we had no clue. I suggest that they let people know through their advertising what exact number to call to get the best deal.
I thought I was talking to a real ADT person. But maybe I was talking to an independent contractor and the operator happened to be in charge of the ADT department of the independent contractor. Nonetheless, the system is easy to use. One time there were two coyotes trying to kill themselves on my back porch and they kept crashing into the sliding glass door which triggered the alarm. It’s four o’clock in the morning and I’m thinking, “Okay. The alarm pad is all the way out in the front office. I’m in my bedroom. What do I do?” So I called ADT, have them come out, and they gave me a bedside keypad. They came out right away and their rep answered all my questions. And then, I had a problem with it or I thought I did, and he came right back out. So, I’m very pleased with ADT.
Their reps gave me the ADT brochure and I called them. And they tell me, “Well, you’re not in our system.” And a lot of confusion between whose system was I in and why wasn’t I in their system? I called the 1800 number and they’re like “Oh, yeah. We have you.” And then I called the one in the brochure and it’s like, “Well, we don’t have you.” The whole experience wasn’t great but we got it ironed out and we’re good.

Because I had installed your cameras and they gave an accurate picture of him climbing my six foot fence: in order to access my bathroom window that was sometimes left a little ajar. They caught him less than two hours later.
That was not the only incident. A little girls bike was stolen in broad daylight. Because of my street cameras from ADT, the older boy was identified by the shoes he wore. The bike was returned! Recently a car was broken into. The ADT... cameras were able to provide a description of the suspect that could have never been obtained at that late hour. I was able to find the appropriate footage because the previous week an ADT representative came to my home to demonstrate the workings of the cameras.
You have protected me and my neighborhood with your cameras, kindness, and outstanding commitment to those you serve. I feel safe in my home, my garden, my outdoor environment. I called to check on the ADT system for my mother's home. I explained to the gentleman on the phone that my mother was in her late 80's and not in good health. I explained to him that she was living in the home by herself and I wanted to make her feel safe and get ADT, which I had thought was the best. I went on to explain to him that I wanted to pay for this and have it installed in my mother's home. He said "no problem I could do that." He also explained that if my mother passed away during the 3 year contract, I would not be held in the contract. I said that is fine, I went ahead and paid and scheduled the installation.
I had no idea that it would not be ADT service doing this installation, instead it was a service working under ADT. The guy came out, starting the installation and he said to me and my husband that I should make sure and call back the next day to have my mother's name added to the contract in case she passes away. He had noticed that my mother was ill.
So, the next day I called the number he told me to call and it was a nightmare. The lady was very rude, told me that I could not do that and that the only way I could get my mother's name on it was to cancel the service and have her to get the service. I explained to her that my mom was not able to do that and that the installer told me that it was no problem putting her name on the contract. I finally had to ask to speak to her supervisor, she put me on hold for a few minutes and then came back on, told me they was busy and she hung the phone up. I then called the first number I called to start this process and I have not had any satisfaction. I was promised that I could do that and was promised that they would email me the form to do that and no form was ever sent.
I called again and talked to someone in accounts and they told me that there was no way I could do this because of ADT did not install this service. It was a contractor that works under ADT and that is not their policy. So, I am locked into a contract for three years. I pray that my mother lives another three years, but again she is very ill. I should have been told that a contract company would be installing this and I should have been told upfront that I was the one locked into the contract. Very bad human relations. I will not recommend ADT to anyone for this reason.
Good Afternoon Joan- We're sorry to hear about your mother. Upon review of your account you were installed by Defender Security an ADT authorized dealer. We would like to help out and forward this concern to them directly for assistance. Please allow 24 business hours for a follow up from them. Please feel free to email us directly at AlwaysThere@adt.com if you need further assistance. - Eileen

The ADT Pulse Security system is very valuable. We recently had this installed after having a previous security system that failed to operate correctly. The ADT Pulse system works just like it is suppose to - it lets us know when the doors are opened and the location. I also like the fact that I can link our Nest Thermostat and Ring Doorbell systems to the Pulse system. It is very convenient and easy to make changes or updates via a smartphone.

It's a great feeling to be able to go away and know that your home is safe in the capable hands of ADT. We have always worried about break-ins or fire. These are everyone's worst nightmares. Also it's a comfortable feeling at night to know you are safe while asleep.

I am overall satisfied with service, but wish the Pulse app allowed you stay logged in and not have to always log in and out. The old app allowed you to stay logged in and made it much easier and faster to log into the system right away. I hope they can make the app easier in the future.

We had an alarm trigger because of something we did incorrectly. The person I spoke with was very polite and explained what happened.. After she tried to contact us she notified the local police and they did a routine check.. After checking everything we realized that we had not updated our contact phones since we retired and had changed cell phone numbers. She updated all of the contact numbers and was very polite and helpful through the entire process.

ADT is always right there when you need them. We have been a member for many years now, and our alarm panel has not been working up to par lately. ADT needs to improve on the continuous beeping 24 hours a day to remind their customers that the battery is low. It takes way too long to receive a new battery from ADT. While we await our new battery, we are receiving daily 8:00 AM phone calls reminding us that we have a low battery. It does get very annoying.
Hello Linda- We are very sorry to learn of your experience with the system and hope that you have been able to replace the battery at this time.
In the future, you may choose to place non-emergency signals (such as low batteries) on disregard, to avoid repeated calls. Depending on your system model, the beeping noise may be resolved locally using different methods. Please advise if we are able to be of greater assistance. ~Tréchell

ADT has been my trusted security service for over 5 or more years. When my alarm signals, sometimes I am not even aware that I triggered the alarm, being in the garage, I immediately receive a call from ADT asking am I alright, do I require assistance. I love this service. My sister-in-law just installed ADT at her Home because of my ranting about how great they are. ADT makes me feel safe at and away from home. Thank you ADT.

I was very pleased with the upgrade of system. LOVE THE CAMERAS. Was pleased with the installer too. He was very personable & knowledgeable about his work. Cleaned up after himself. Glad for the upgrade of the system. Feel very safe now the cameras are in.

We are seniors living on social security and every rate increase hurts our budget. ADT representative was understanding and compassionate... rate remained. Increase would be credited following month. Why can't we be 'grandfathered' in... such a hurt to our pride to have to call every year... We are only getting older. 72 & 89.

We are very pleased with our ADT service. All aspects of the service are very user friendly and our sales rep was outstanding. We have only had one instance where our alarm went off (dog sitting and the dog got out of kennel and set off motion sensors) and the response time with our local police was great! We also LOVE our RING doorbell and are so glad our rep offered it to us. We will be getting more for the other doors as well. Hoping we never have a break-in but ADT gives peace of mind just in case.

My daughter called you to help her get set up with the app on her phone. All went well. Then I got emails indicating I still needed to change the password. The password she set up stopped working, I tried going on the web site and I keep getting locked out in spite of knowing the answers to security questions, etc. The only solution? Call customer service - VERY undesirable option - awful music on hold - long wait times. And I am not supposed to use the phone at work for personal calls. So I am basically locked out of the app and have no way to get back in!!! BAD customer "service". Very BAD. If I could do it over the web and avoid calling - it would be much better!
Hello Bruce- We are truly sorry to learn of your experience with Pulse. Have you been able to achieve a resolution and regain access? Please reach out if we're still able to be of assistance. ~Tréchell

We've been with ADT for 14 years and recently spoke with them about upgrading to the ADT Pulse system so that we could have more control over our alarm system when not at home. ADT was quick to offer us a great deal due to our loyalty and the new ADT Pulse system has been installed and is absolutely OUTSTANDING. We now have complete control of our system via our phones, laptops, or tablets from anywhere. We have always had great customer service and professional security monitoring with ADT along with a sense of genuine security knowing they are "on the job" 24/7. Prior to the ADT Pulse system upgrade, we explored all of the "wireless" security providers and in the end, we chose to stick with the best in the business - ADT.

ADT has been our home security service for 10 years. At the beginning, not been familiar with the system, customer service was very understanding and helped us through our "training". I love the panel and the options for your alarm.

This is the first review I have ever left in my life but I am so upset with this company that I feel like I have to warn people with our experience. I can’t say anything about the security itself on account if we never actually got to try the home security. A few weeks ago me and my husband were looking into getting a home security system, we decided to go with ADT after seeing the reviews and thought it would be the best price. My husband called to get a quote and was told the price would $36.00 per month, so we set up for them to come out and install the system. We had to reschedule the date for setup so we called them again and we again were told it would be $36.00 per month.
While we were waiting for them to come out and install, I got a flyer in the mail advertising the $27.00 per month, so my husband called to see if we could get that pricing, the representative told him that the $27.00 pricing was for if we had a phone line (which we do not). The $36.00 was for the wireless, and we wanted wireless, so we stuck with our $36.00 per month.
The guy from ADT comes out to our house while my husband is at work, and installs the system on our wall. Then when he’s done installing everything, he came and sat down with me to explain all the features and try to upsell me. I said no to all of the upsales, and then at the end he tells me it’s going to be $58 a month. I told him, "No, we were quoted $36.00 a month." He then told me that the $36.00 price was if we had a phone line, I told him the representative told us that the $27.00 one was for if we had a phone line and the $36.00 was for wireless. So the guy with ADT told us to go to Century Link and set up a phone line, pay for the phone line, and then he could honor the $36.00 a month. So I said, "Then what is the $27.00 for?" And he said, "Oh yeah, well we can honor that for a phone line too..." So it made no sense why you would pay $36.00 for a phone line instead of $27.00?
After going back and forth for awhile, he called his boss and explained the situation, by this time my husband was home and was able to explain to him what the representative had quoted him over the phone. I asked the guy with ADT if they record phone calls and could listen to the 3 different phone calls where my husband was quoted the same price of $36.00 on all 3. The guy said they do record phone calls, but even if they listen to them and the representative did say that, they won’t honor that price. That’s what bothered me the most.
I’m a supervisor where I work and we record all of our phone calls for this exact reason, if we told a customer wrong information, it doesn’t matter what it was, we would make it right with that customer because it was our mistake, that’s what an honorable company does. I was completely flabbergasted when they told us basically they don’t care that their agents are giving out wrong information. 3 different agents on 3 different phone calls all giving out wrong information? So then we were so upset we said forget it and to uninstall the system.
So now we have 5 holes in our wall where the system was that we have to patch and paint over, and no home security, all because this company can’t stand behind the word of their employees. Also, a word of suggestion for ADT, maybe have your install guy go over how you’re ripping the customer off before installing the system into someone’s wall!

We have been very pleased with the response we encountered when my elderly husband accidentally set off the fire alarm on our ADT system. Very courteous and understanding response when I called to cancel. At the same time a fire truck and two firefighters arrived which was comforting for us to see such a quick response. They were very kind as well. We highly recommend ADT.
