    All these years that we have owned our house, we've always had a security system. Now, we don't like to not have one. We're still new in Florida and we didn't want to have to look around and talk to people, and ADT was running a good program at that time so we gave it a try. The sales rep was on time and was very thorough. We got the basic $49.99, which was supposed to be the starting package. We then added two more points of contact, which were supposed to be $80 but were on sale at that time.

    Then we were told that we had to pay another $25 for something, and the initial bill became over $111 instead of $49.99. He gave us a discount but it’s still what we ended up being charged. A lot of things were not informed, like the tax, and it had to be paid for on top of whatever. We still like to be told from the start that we had to pay tax and that the $49.99 can be much higher. They could have been more transparent. We were told to come back to them after six months and they will see if they can do something about it.

    Also, I asked for the best and most experienced guy ADT had because we had been in Florida for a year and had been running into problems with people who tell us that they can do certain things. And when they finally send out someone to do the installation, the people often have very limited abilities, so we made sure they send us somebody who can get it done without having to come back again and again. ADT did that for us and I was very happy. I would tell my friend to go to ADT and not to overanalyze. They know what they’re doing and as far as I'm concerned, ADT has been around for a long time and they back up. I would tell my friends, whoever who wanted one, they should because we were given good advice by the salesperson and we follow through and we're very happy with everything that we have now. It’s been a very good experience with ADT.

    My next-door neighbor had ADT and I’ve seen his sign in the yard. I’ve heard more about ADT than any other security plan. I also knew about the cable company, but I have so much trouble with the cable that I didn’t want to risk it. So I got ADT Pulse, where I can get it on my phone, and I have the smoke detector. When the ADT guy came in and hooked it up for us, he told us that they were giving us a $100 gift card. But instead of getting a gift card, we chose to get the smoke detector since it was the same price. The guy was really awesome and nice. He walked us through how to set it, and what to do in order to alert somebody if there was an emergency. I set it every day using the digital keypad, and I know it works because when I’ve been away and the alarm had went off, they’ve called me. So that was awesome. I'm totally satisfied with their service.

    I was broken into and ADT came before my insurance company did. I bought their basic system package for $99 and I got two key fobs, a keypad and door alarms. A nice gentleman installed the system and I really liked him. He was quick and got it done really fast. The system has been okay, but I need an extra keypad for upstairs because I have a two-story home. They wanted $150 for another keypad so I just let it go but I intend to get a different system. My internet and cable TV provider has a home system and I plan to switch over to them when I can.

    Experience was frustrating after I inquired about wireless home protection add on equipment. Was scheduled twice by representatives. Took off from work as signature required presence of homeowner. On visit representative had no information what he was supposed to install and update. Felt sorry for myself and his ignorance. Later I contacted ADT to rescheduled again. Was rescheduled. Canceled another appointment at last moment though with prior confirmation of details and every ordered checked. Reason equipment not available. ADT needs better communication and up to date state of art services to be a leading communication industry what their industry requires promptness in timely fashion.

    I've had ADT since 1995 and their service has been very good. I got a fire, entrance and security package in the house. I have cameras in the house, doors and the windows. If the alarm goes off, they call me right away and if I don’t answer the phone, they call the police so it works very well. The other day, customer service called me. I'm supposed to test the alarm once in a while and I hadn’t done it as of the time that I had it checked. They wanted me to do it so that was very satisfactory. They are efficient and punctual.

    The system that I have right now is dated and I called ADT at one point in time. But an upgrade was going to cost me a big bunch of money. ADT took over from the company that I had before, Brinks. And I thought for a person who had the same account for 27 years, they would have been a little bit more attentive to what my needs were. But I did not get satisfaction there. I've had an upgrade before and that was about 15 years ago. It was under Brinks and they were totally great with it. But the most important thing has to be being able to answer an alarm when it goes off and ADT has been doing that so far.

    We had Brinks initially. We’ve had the home security system for at least 20 years. Since we've been with ADT, we’ve had them come out and I wanted to update to the Wi-Fi one. But we’re out in the country and we don’t have a strong enough signal. So, I've tried for them to do that for me. Recently, we've had the same guy come out, and he's very nice and professional. We just have a box on the wall. It still says Brinks on it, and it works very well. We're having some work done and, for some reason, there's beeping every now and then. But overall, we’ve always been very happy with ADT.

    The girl I talked to told me it included 15 doors and windows and I only have six. The guy that came to do the work said it was only five so I had to pay for one which kind of upset me but he was a nice guy and real courteous. So I paid and then argue.

    We had several break-ins prior to putting in a security system 20 years ago. We have gone from company to company and ADT is our third. So far, we're very happy with their security system. When the alarm goes off for any reason, we get a call almost immediately. It's extremely prompt and we're impressed with that. Moreover, we added a panel four years ago and it was in the back of the house. The gentleman who came in was very very nice and did what needed to be done. However, when my husband came in, he couldn't hear it. It was going off more often than it should. We had ADT come again and put another control panel close to the front door. It makes a lot of noise and it's worked out very very well. Overall, we're very happy with our experience with ADT. We would recommend it.

    I was working in Cablevision and we offered ADT services at that time along with the Triple Play, internet connection, TV phone service, and a cable. That was the first time I heard about them and we've been in contract for three or four years. Their team is prompt and they are very nice and respectful people. They call right away when the system is off. We have cameras, sensors and the fire and CO detection. Also, we have the access to the internet, website, as well phone apps, so we are always informed about what’s going on in the system. We think it’s great and that’s why we keep it. And they're improving over time. They give access to different stuff so we can just add to the system which is really great.

    Called just to get info and to see how much it would be monthly for a system. Got pressured like no other to setup an appointment when I still needed to talk it over with my girlfriend first. Then got transferred over to promotions where it was the last straw. She tried like no other to get my credit card numbers because apparently if I didn’t sign up this current day, that I would lose out on a few things. I told her I can’t, and she then kept asking what the hold up was and kept trying and trying and even asked me when my payday was. This was through the protectyourhome.com website. Your promotions lady sure pushed me and she pushed me right out of wanting it.

    ADT is a well-known company and I have been a customer for two years now. I chose a basic package with the alarm and motion sensor in the rooms and alarms on all the windows and doors. In addition, there was an advertisement that if you sign up and pay $100, you get your $100 back. I got a debit card from them with $100 on it, so they followed through. The installer was a nice, young gentleman who was happy to answer any questions I had. He was good.

    So far, I'm extremely satisfied with their service. I had people breaking into my house and as soon as I put the system in, it stopped. It was the most amazing thing in the world. In addition, their reps were always very helpful and eager to resolve whatever concerns I had. They were happy to take care of it. They can also take my check automatically with no problem. I may sometimes forget in the morning and let the dog out causing the alarm to go off, but as long as I set the alarm at night, everything is good. I'm very pleased with what they do and I would definitely recommend them.

    The service is more expensive than other security services and each monitoring device costs extra including for windows. Once you sign a contract they have you for 3 years; this was no issue at first because we loved where we lived, but my father in law was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer and 5 years to live if inoperable. We wanted to move closer to home during his last few years. We chose an apartment that where it would not make sense to have an externally operated security system such as ADT, but they would not let us out of the contract and demanded 75 percent of the remaining 6 months even though we could not receive the services. They claim they will credit our account if we reinstate within a period of time, but why would I ever start another contract with them? They really shouldn't treat people this way. Use a different service; they don't deserve yours.

    I retired and moved from California to Rolla and I was a little apprehensive about living alone. Getting a security system seemed like the right thing to do, and it's not just the house. It's me as I'm out, going around in the community because I have the medical part too. I'm a senior citizen and having a security system is like having a partner here with me all the time watching me. My experience with ADT has been great. Everybody is very polite and they have this wonderful capacity to listen and not assume that they know what you're going to say. That’s always very important in customer service. Most of the time, people just assume that they know what you're going to say and it could be totally wrong. The people from ADT are also very capable, competent and knowledgeable. They're on the spot. It's very comforting, nice and soothing having them. It's wonderful and it's really helped me.

    I have a heart condition and I had three heart operations before I got ADT. If I'm feeling lightheaded, I know how to get on my hands and knees so I don’t fall down and hit my head on something. One time when I was on the toilet, I was so embarrassed to call 911 but everything worked out beautifully. I was very thankful that there was a competent person at the other end of the telephone. I have this button that I can just push and somehow, the system that’s installed in my home is able to communicate with people. I really like it. I'm very pleased with ADT's service.

    We were with ADT's predecessor and we have had ADT for 18 years now. We have them here in Corpus for 12 years and had them six years in French Wood. We've got their alarm systems and camera which we can monitor remotely. The dealings I had with their customer service were great. We had to call them this morning because we had our cable system changed and our Wi-Fi was converted into another room so I had to move the gateway box up from one room to another. The guy on the phone told me how to do that and I didn’t have to have a technician out. We’re very happy with ADT and it’s easy to work with them.

    We had another security system but we weren't happy so I got online and looked at reviews. ADT had the best reviews so I called them. The sales rep that we originally had was out of Roanoke and he came and met with us. He was super and he came back when they did the installation. The installers were very nice and very professional. They did a fantastic job and they explained everything to us. The security, fire, carbon monoxide, burglar alarm and those little help-I've-fallen-and-can't-get-up pendants are features included in our package. So far, we've had excellent service and we're very satisfied. They're on top of things. If we messed something up with the alarm, the next thing we know is that they're calling or sending somebody out. We've recommended ADT to several people.

    When we moved up from New York to Massachusetts, we went again with ADT since that was what we had for 20 years in New York. The sales representative was recommended to us by others that had used ADT and the sales rep came since we had to establish a new account. When we had the house built, we had the house wired by the builder. So, we just added a couple of devices by ADT. And when the installation team came, they did an admirable job. We have the windows, the doors, the inside siren, and keypads and so far, their service has been excellent. The alarm works and I do the monthly checkup to make sure that the system is working and it's done online. We’re very satisfied with ADT and we’ve recommended them to others in our community.     I first put the ADT system in about 20 years ago and I've had a great experience with them. The customer service was good when I had a problem.     After having ADT for 2 years and a few problems with the equipment (cameras turning off/faulty CO2 detector) and recent home fire that ADT equipment failed to alert us. We decided something needed to change to keep us. Spoke with a DENISE in account management to get reduced rate, although she was unable to reduce to our satisfaction. Requested the manager and was told he may or may not be available that she would need to do some paperwork for 5-10 min before checking to see if he was. And also that he would not be able to help me anyway, she had given us the lowest rate. When she returned she said he would not be able to speak with me because he could not help me anyway, now I'm mad because what kind of customer service does not allow you to speak with a higher up especially when you are going to walk away.

    Denise reports that she is not part of customer service, if you are taking care of customers that is customer service (may need some retraining I'm not sure). Mind you I could hear the manager in the background as he told her to get rid of me. I asked for his name and she refused to give it to me. Denise in not so many words basically told me I was a liar as far as the fire was not reported therefore I must be making it up. There were actually two technicians that had been to our home the past few days to fix our equipment and it was hard to miss the fire. It was reported by me via the phone, but of course it wasn't in their system because their equipment was not working at the time of the fire so no alerts went to them. So that was infuriating.

    This is where my sweet husband took over. Thank goodness because I was at my wits end with Denise and getting nowhere. My husband was able to speak with managers from 2 separate departments and get our issue resolved as well as a reduced rate. We are feeling a little more appreciated, but the verdict is out on trial as to whether we stick with ADT or not. Hopefully no more hiccups in the future!

    If I could give this garbage company a 0 rating I would! I absolutely HATE everything about this company. They have serious issues from not being able to apply good security in your home, to having a false sales pitch, and they bill you more than they say they will. HUGE WARNING - DO NOT USE THIS SECURITY PROVIDER!!! I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL MY CONTACT IS UP... I HAVE EVEN CONSIDERED getting an attorney to get out of my contact. ADT is crooked with all their bogus identities! Trust me DON'T use them!!!

    I had a previous company that I was not satisfied with and then the opportunity came to make contact with ADT. I decided to have them come take a look and see if they were the kind of company I wanted to do business with and they were. The people who have come out to take a look were very, very nice. They also came on time and did what they said they’re going to do. I’ve had only good experiences with them.

    The installation took half a day since I have a 3,800 square foot home but when various components we wanted to be done were working fine. Everything in my house is wired to the point where I have a dual system. If one floor goes out, it goes to the battery. And if there’s a complete power outage, it switches to battery. ADT is a good organization that does a good job. The fact that I recommended them to a friend of ours is indicative of what I think of them.

    I’ve had ADT for at least 15 years now. The service does what it needs to do. Their customer service people have been good and when the alarm goes off, the calls to me go fast. But I’ve been looking to upgrade my whole system to wireless. Go with ADT if you really need a good security system.

    I am updating my star rating to 5-star rating based on the quick and thorough response I received from ADT following my original review. It's unfortunate the hoops I had to jump through to get attention, but the experience ended well. I am on track to being a very satisfied customer again. After my review on this site, I received a callback the next morning from someone who was in a position to make things happen. The appointment was scheduled at my earliest convenience to have the appropriate components replaced to ensure my system works correctly.

    I believe in being just as willing to give positive feedback as negative. So, I want to sincerely thank ADT for responding to my issues!

    I have had ADT monitored security in my home for over 4 years. While not flawless, it has always seemed to work as intended. Thankfully, I have not had a security incident. In the last few weeks, my system has registered communication errors multiple times daily for anywhere from a few seconds to several hours. I called the ADT 800 number for service. The operator seemed more intent on trying to charge me $25 to have someone come out than about the problem.

    A technician came the next day; to their credit, he was on time and professional. BUT - the first thing he asked upon arrival was if the operator I talked to had informed me of their "ongoing communication issues". No, she did not. According to this story, this has been going on for 2 years, and I should consider myself lucky that my problem only started two weeks ago. He logged my service as incomplete and was on his way. This, supposedly so I will be notified when the issue is fixed.

    After he left, I began searching the internet for reports of similar problems. I do not believe if the issue had gone on for 2 years that there would not be a ton of complaints. After all, when the system is experiencing the "communication problem", I am not connected to monitoring. No one would be notified if there were an alarm incident at my property - a service for which I pay nearly $60 EVERY MONTH! Upon researching, I have not found any forum where this problem is discussed, so I am left to believe that the technician either didn't know how to fix it, or just didn't want to. He offered up this story that placated me until he was out of the door.

    I have now sent trouble reports via the online customer service link every day for 3 days, I have received no response. I have 2 years left on my contract, and I do not look forward to paying $60 a month (over $1400) for a service I am not receiving to a company which doesn't care that it doesn't work properly. I have an alarm system for a reason, and I need it to work. My alternatives seem to be to pay monthly and have unreliable service, pay a very high termination fee, or hire a lawyer to litigate. None of these are good solutions. I would prefer they provide the service for which I pay.

    I don't have an order number for this latest service, one was not provided in the confirmation email, nor was I given anything by the responding technician. He was in a well marked ADT truck, and the confirmation email was definitely from adt.com. Three days ago, I set up to receive email and text messages when the communication problem occurs, well more accurately when the issue resolves, since NOTHING is sent while the issue is ongoing. I have saved 48 (!!!) emails since that time.

    Hello Kenneth- We thank you for reaching out and for bringing this concern to our attention for review! ADT offers two means of system communication for monitoring: cellular and landline. For the majority of cellular systems, ADT relies on AT&T cell towers for communication.

    AT&T recently made changes to their cell towers in October, 2017 which resulted in the loss of communication for many ADT customers in select areas. AT&T has made the necessary repairs in many of these regions, but ADT awaits their action in quite a few others.

    With regards to your interaction with the servicing technician, we do apologize. Please rest assured this concern has not been on-going for 2 years and that we are doing everything within our power to resolve this for all of our customers still being impacted.

    I have been waiting 2 months for access cards! I have called no less than 15 times trying to find out where these cards are, if they have been sent, and get ANY confirmations!!! I was told the cards were shipped several times but didn't receive anything. Then finally told in fact the cards weren't shipped but wasn't given a reason. After yet another call I was told the cards were on back order. ADT couldn't however give a date as to when the cards would be available. I was told they would call with an update, which never happened. Again I call and explain to yet another rep and a manager the situation. I still wasn't given any update. Just a promise that ADT would call after they looked into the matter.

    When I followed up, more than a month at this point, I was finally told the cards were back in production. They guessed they would be available for shipping in a couple of weeks. Yet again with another promise to call with an update that never came. Finally at 7 weeks I receive a phone call saying the cards would be shipped and verified all of the shipping information. They were not able to give me a tracking number however. The cards were shipped... in A RANDOM PERSON'S NAME!

    When I called to see where the shipment was ADT told me I rejected the shipment. But if I wanted to contact the shipping company the package was on hold there. Again ADT could not provide me a tracking number, which obviously they had in order to tell me where the package was on hold. It's been 2 months!!! I have spoken with so many different departments, reps, and managers yet NO ONE seems to have an explanation or a resolve. I find it utterly ridiculous that a company the size of ADT is so poorly lacking in both customer service and product solutions. At this point I would never recommend them to any community. I am looking into another provider to fill our needs.

    I saw ADT's placards throughout Ridgecrest. Also, most people seemed to be getting ADT if they're going to get a security system. There are miscellaneous companies here doing this kind of stuff but I figured ADT had more market than them and I like that idea. I had a number of systems installed in the doors and windows, motion detectors here and there and a glass breakage thing. As time went on, I needed one more. I called and within a week, the rep showed up here and he put another one in. I wasn’t charged for that so I thought that’s neat. I’d like to get cameras someday. However, when you start adding more stuff and get more service, it's understandable that it will start to cost more money. Right now, it’s a reasonable rate every month and I’m very pleased with that.

    The installer that they sent out was very good. I’m really pleased as they were very workmanlike, knowledgeable and very professional. The tech did everything and he was very methodical. He went to the places and he looked at the way the rooms were set up. He wasn’t able to put a door device so he put that window breakage device. In another area, it has the regular sensor but it also has a motion detector just because of the layout. He knew what he was doing and I'm extremely pleased.

    I got tangled up in trying to set the main station up when I'm trying to change the timer. I opened the instruction book right close to the main station and it was clear and easy to read. I went through all the steps and I eventually get to it. But sometimes, I set the alarm off and screw up. I’ve had a time or two when I forgot I had the alarm set. I went into the garage and set the alarm off. I got in the house and as soon as I punched in the security code to turn that thing off, I had a phone call from ADT wanting to see if everything was okay. I told them what happened and she said all right. One time when I was downtown, one of the doors to a heater compartment wasn’t latched quite right and it went off. By the time I got home which was probably about 45 minutes, the person that I have as a secondary and the police were already here.

    When I have a problem, I call like when the sun got those plastic signs you put outside. They started to act a little funny then the wind blew and they turned into potato chips and they fell apart. I emailed the company and they sent me a couple plus some window stickers if I wanted. However, I wish that they'll change those signs because I’ve already gone through two of them. They have replaced them and if they want to continue doing that, that’s fine.

    The system I have is wonderful, very responsive and everything is working fine. I'm perfectly happy with it. Also, one of the neat things about it is if I’m in the city right next to us, I have to pay money in order to have one of their police to come out here in case of a break-in. I didn’t know that but I went in and paid. Inside of about two months, I got a check in the mail. They gave my money back because I’m in the county. I couldn’t ask for a better system. I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

    We've had ADT for so long. Our house came with a different alarm company, then there was a shift to a second company. Then we decided to go with ADT, which was the big name in town at that time. I have a good security system. Our house came pre-wired with everything and I added extra motion detectors. I've dealt with the emergency response people of ADT. They were quick and it was good to work with them. I had to get the ADT people once out here because one of my repairmen cut one of the wires in the doorway. Luckily, there was enough wire to grab on to, so we didn’t have to take the whole door frame off. The installers were very easy to work with as well. They came out the same day within an hour of my call. One time, I went over to the ADT office to pick up some extra yard signs and everything went well. I just had to wait a few minutes while the reps went back into the shop and got the signs, and brought these out to me.

    Due to family death I had to cancel a 3 year contract after 1 year. I was put on hold for over 2 hours and transferred 6 times (this happens every time I call for service). They charged me 75% of the remaining 2 years on my contract. They advertise a monthly service of $29 mo. but after installation the monthly is $53. ADT wants the entire remaining 2 year contract paid in 60 days or they will not shut off service. Please, do yourself a favor... Do not use this company.

    The home installation was botched to begin with. A tech had to come back out and reinstall faulty equipment and then said because it was faulty equipment that I could then get out of my contract early. I called to cancel my services multiple times only to be given the runaround. Finally months later I get a hold of someone who says my "window" had closed to get out of the contract early without a fee. Don't ever sign up for ADT. They will lie to you and force you into a 3 year contract of utter garbage service. The customer support team does not give a single ** about you. They will lie and give you the runaround so that you go away. AGAIN, Do Not Ever sign up with ADT. There are plenty of alternatives that do not have long term contracts. I cannot say enough about how terrible this company is or how shady they and their affiliates are. If they actually cared about the customer they would allow you to leave without a penalty.

    I've had ADT for years, and I had my old box for about 12 years. I received a new box because ADT changed over, and my last experience with them was this year when they came in because my new box was not going well. The sensors fell off the wall, and I'm upset about the new situation because I have to keep calling them out to get it right. I was told that they had the new equipment, and I got that. I feel right about the motion detector and the keypad that I’ve got, and so far, the service has been going okay, but I'm still having problems with the box itself.

    The sales reps have been pretty good, but when I call and we try to fix it over the phone, they say that they are going to have to send someone out. And when they do, they want to charge me $27 which think is not fair. The rep said it was the service fee, but it is ADT’s fault that my box is messing up and they have to keep coming. Nevertheless, the tech was perfect when he came out, and he was nice and he told me exactly what to do if the sensors fall off again. I believe in ADT and I like them, and I'd refer them to anybody.

    I’ve had ADT for years, and the reps have been very fine and professional. I had somebody come and look at my service package and they've added some things. The receipt they gave me indicated there was no charge for the service, but they didn’t say that there was an increase in the cost. I haven’t received my first bill, so I don’t know if it has gone up or not, and it’s already 50 something. Whether or not I keep the beeping as I leave, open the door and all that, it depends on how much it costs. I can’t afford any more than what I’m paying now for ADT out of my social security and pension check.     First, the installation man, Hunter, made an appointment with me to replace the dysfunctional camera he left with me. I'm not even sure why he left it. He never showed and still hasn't contacted me a week later. I was also told I would receive most of my equipment fee and installation back on Visa gift cards. Now the main company says that isn't true. They even called Hunter and he said that I would not be getting it back. Now I must pay $340 dollars when I was assured that I would only end up paying $79. Once my 3 year contract is over, I will not be using ADT. I tried to cancel but they won't let me. What a shame. I trusted them because they are so well known but it is just a scam to get your money. Their slogan is "Feel Safe" but they are the ones that rip you off.

    I've been using the service of ADT for six years. I had Brinks before and ADT bought out Brinks. The package that I purchased was an alarm system and it had some internal motion detectors and alarms on several of the doors. All my interactions with the reps have been good. Whenever there has been an alarm, I called ADT. One night, in the middle of the night, we heard some beeping and we thought it was the smoke alarm. I got up and took the battery out from the smoke alarm, but the beeping continued. I went down to the security panel and there was still beeping. So, I called ADT and told the rep that their alarm was beeping. But she said that their alarm doesn’t beep and it must be something else. I came back upstairs and my wife had found out that it was the CO2 alarm that was beeping. Our interactions with the installers have been very good, too.     Called to inquired about a system. Was thinking of a basic set up and asked questions, then I asked about cameras, the salesperson said, "I thought you just wanted a basic system." Told him yes but if m there is a upgrade with a camera I liked to know the details and cost. Heard a deep breath taken then I was put on hold listening to music in the background.     The salesperson talked me into the more expensive plan and said there would never be a charge if system fails and needs repaired. Hidden in the fine print there is a service call fee. A second tech who came to repair, said that is what they are told and that is what they tell everyone. After a BBB complaint the ADT representative refused to believe that his people lie and would not change the contract. Beware of the deceptive practice by ADT. The salesman also stated that I had good cell service to run the system when activated. Tech who worked on it said I had one bar and it comes and goes causing the failure notice which was not fixed and I set it off on purpose with no phone calls or no police came and now stuck in a 3 year contract now. Highly recommend looking into another provider.

    We’ve always had good interactions with the ADT sales team, and once the sales were made, we’ve been very satisfied. We've had two locations that we’ve worked with ADT on, and we have been with ADT for about nine years now at the house where we’ve had two systems. We have both the video monitor system with the DVR and the Pulse system for the security inside. We had problems with the camera system for a while that we had a technician come out and do things, but we worked out most of those problems.

    The system gets antiquated really quickly and I have to do upgrades and replacements. As far as the security systems are concerned, we upgraded from the old keypad system to the Pulse at the house because we got a Pulse system over here, and we enjoyed it so much more than the one we had before. We do a lot of our security from afar, and it was much easier to use the Pulse system to activate on and off and also monitor. We’ve always been very happy with our ADT systems, and we have recommended ADT several times to several people. And I tell them if they have problems with people breaking in nearby or if they're having a personal problem themselves, ADT can cure them.

    I have had ADT for years, I used it while moving twice. I moved last year in June 2017 and called to make a payment that was behind and wanted to set up the system in my new home. They wanted too much money upfront so I told them to cancel my account because I won't be able to afford setting up the new address. Here we are in February 2018 and I get a bill for over 1,000 saying my account was canceled and it was still monitoring my old address! So I immediately called customer service for HELP!

    The woman I talked to was nice at first. I explained everything and told her I for sure canceled when I moved and knew that I would have fees for ending my contract early ($700) but that nobody canceled my account like I requested. The only option she gave me was paying the balance and if I didn't pay it then it would go to collection. Ok, so I get off the phone with her and call again to request a supervisor or someone with cancellation. I GOT THE SAME EXACT LADY! She said, "I'm telling you, we cannot help you Mrs. **!" She was rude, rude tone and refused to let me speak with anyone else!

    I'm upset, crying, and all she said was, "I can ONLY put in a request for someone to call you within 24 hours" and "if you want us to work with you then you have to pay the balance before we can do so!" I refuse to pay for something I know I called to cancel. But CS didn't "notate" my account when I made the call so the lady I was speaking with didn't believe a word I was saying! She literally spoke to me in such a rude manner. Just like the person who didn't cancel my account or notate it, I bet this lady didn't put in the request for me to speak with a supervisor. But I don't want to call again and get the same rude lady again.

    I have never been so upset about a service until now. Just like the customer service rep said I guess "it WILL go to collections any day now and you have to deal with it then". I will NEVER use ADT again. And I will dispute the bill sent to collections and I will make sure that other people know how terrible my experience has been and save them from the same mistake!

    We've been customers for a long time and so far, ADT has never raised our monthly payment. We’ve had a few issues over the years but they've always addressed those. Most recently, we had a technical issue and we had to have a receiver replaced. The person who came out to do that was very good. And in times when we’ve had an alarm go off, which were always technical issues, the response was very fast. The reps that we’ve spoken with have also always been wonderful and very professional. We also have the panic button from ADT so we can call them if we have a problem and talk to a human being and not be put on hold or given a recording.     This was a reinstall as I had ADT about seven years ago. I liked the old Honeywell panel better as it both announced as well as gave a message when it alarmed. I wish ADT would activate my old panel long enough so I could update it as I am using it as a aux panel out in my "man cave" in the garage as I have a hearing loss of about 50% due to my 22 years of service in the Navy. The new panel is in the center of the house and it only "beeps" and if I'm not around I don't hear it and even if I am I still have to go over to the panel and read the message. I am 84 years old and my wife is 82 so we don't move around as well as we once use too. I like everything else about the new install.

    Very upset with the way I have been treated. I was never told I was signing a 3 year contract. I was told a price then we talked about my friend who had passed away and the services were held at his church (salesperson is an assistant pastor). Apparently there is a special promo box they can check for one year contracts but they don't receive any commission. I was told one year then it would be month to month. No new system was installed just a keypad. Poor service faulty sensors in the building never fixed.

    Fast forward 2 years I move to a different building. I forget to cancel my service. So I call in and am told, "30 day notice you will have to pay an extra month." No problem. A little upset at this point. Then I get put on hold and am now told I signed a 3 year contact and that I have to pay 700 and something dollars. This is unreasonable. I called my salesman and no help. They have offered settlement of 250 off. This still isn't right. I made a suggestion and continuously get talked over. There way or the highway. I will never recommend ADT and will start posting on every social media site until a reasonable solution can made. I should have read what I was signing but I should also be able to trust the salesman and his word. How many other people have y'all taken advantage of??

    My Dad was concerned about break-ins. ADT had been canvassing the neighborhood for months. When an ADT salesman showed up at our door, Dad let him in. Dad ended up signing a 3 (5?) year contract. He thought it was month to month, or maybe a year. The system never worked. The guy who installed it, did it wrong. We kept getting messages that there was a system breach. They'd wake us up, interrupt dinner, etc, with their phone calls and announcements.

    We had another service person come out after months of it not working and ADT alerts. The new guy said that the central part of the system was installed so poorly, it could short circuit and start a fire. He fixed it. Hahaha. So we started again. This time there was something wrong with the battery. The alert was the battery wasn't charged. After fighting with ADT over the system for a year, during which time the alarm system NEVER worked, my Dad called the company to cancel the contract. He was told that he was locked in for another 2 (4?) years. He tried to get out of the contract, explaining that the system never worked.

    I called an attorney. He said that he needed to see a copy of the contract. My Dad was a little shaky as far as keeping records. We called ADT customer service and asked for a copy of the contract; 7 times. They wouldn't release it. We asked about the records they kept on our service calls. There were none? We finally gave up. My Dad ended up paying thousands of dollars for a system that could have burned down the house and was nothing but an aggravation.

    I have never written a bad review IN MY LIFE. However, ADT and Defenders bring out the worst in me! First ADT will not speak with you or help you out if you had Defenders (one of their "authorized installation" companies) do the installation. Secondly, Defenders will give you incentives to sign up but fail to tell you ALL of their contracts are for 3 YEARS! Even when you explain you're a single mom, in a rent house and CANNOT commit to a 3 year contract, the representative will be kind and verbally tell you that the contact can be "modified" to meet my needs.

    Now 8 months later when I am moving to a different house, and no longer need the service I find out that not only is my contract not modified to meet my needs, it will actually cost me over $900 to cancel service!!! So my choices are to pay for the service to be transferred to my new rental house, and continue to pay monthly to finish out my contract, or pay over $900 upfront to cancel my contract, or I could just let it go on my credit despite the fact I'm in the process of repairing my credit in order to purchase a house within a year. I'm so beyond frustrated. I feel like I was taken advantage of and not told the whole truth about the service contract!! Find a different company because this one only cares about MONEY not CUSTOMERS!!

    After almost 16 years with ADT, I changed security companies. Their billing practices and customer support always left me feeling like I was paying for nothing. We started to have multiple issues with our aging system. When we reported problems, the remedy presented was for us to pay to have the system fixed or take care of the issue ourselves. When we discussed possible upgrades, we were expected to pay full price while new customers received discounts. After 15 years of paying the monthly fees after paying for the initial installation, a little courtesy and respect could have been offered. We had ADT price out our security system for our small business. Their quote came back higher than their competition by almost $1000 for the same equipment. When we expressed to them the fact that we had been with them for all these years to see if they could at least match their competitors, we were met with a prompt, "no."

    When I say competitors, I am not referring to the cheap "do it yourself" kits, nor am I referring to the folks like Alarmforce. I mean their direct competitors with national recognition. Item for item, their price was $1000 higher than the rest. So we made the switch. In doing so, we had their competitors price out a home system for us similar to that of ADT. Again, the competition was a better deal and since they had just installed our office system and everything worked as promised, with courteous representatives who cleaned up after themselves, we gave them the OK to put a new system in our home. I called ADT to cancel and they quickly sent me to the sales team. Everyone was friendly and courteous and after they heard that I was going to go with someone else, they promptly dropped their prices and did everything they could to keep me. Too late for that.

    And for good measure, they told me that I had to pay for another month as part of the contract that we supposedly signed almost 16 years ago. They asked for feedback and I gave it to them. They can have their 30 days to cancel payment... and never have me as a customer again. What they fail to realize is that word of mouth is a powerful thing. I am a home builder and general contractor. I build at least 20 homes a year and remodel another 40. People ask me all the time for recommendations... ADT with one phone call went from an afterthought to the forefront of my list of companies to never do business with. Nice work on your end. There are several successful businessmen that through the years have adopted the stance that if at any time someone wants out of a contract, you let them. It'll save you more in the end and keep you from making long term mistakes. This $37.50 charge just cost them a lot in negative referrals.

    I called ADT to get a new battery and the rep I spoke with was great. I’m glad I haven’t had to use the system yet. We had a system prior to ADT, and when I mistakenly opened the back door in the morning and it went off, they called in. But with ADT, I’ve had the system go off twice when I’ve not gotten in and got the buttons pushed in time, and no one has ever bothered to call to check on it. And I asked the rep about it when I spoke to her about the battery. She said if I reset the system within the first 60 seconds, they won't call me. And while I don't have a problem with it, I just wish I’ve known about it. It’s possible that they had it somewhere in the paperwork and I just overlooked it but it was something that came to my attention.

    I contacted ADT to set up an appointment for a consultation. They asked for my bank account information so that they could bill me just as soon as I signed a contract. I never signed a contract and never had the appointment. Yet they build my account for $106. When I complained about this, I was assured that this was not their normal policy and should not have been done since I was not yet a customer. I was also assured that I would be issued an immediate refund on February 11th 2018. As of today, February 14th 2018, I have still not received a refund to my bank account. When I called customer service back, they refused to pass me on to management. They told me the refund had been issued on February 13th 2018. Even though I was assured that it would be issued on February 11th 2018. When I again asked for a supervisor, I was told that they would not be transferring me and they hung up on me.

    When technician arrived, he immediately began installing the 'free' system. After disabling my existing system, he did a walk through and heavy sales pitch providing a quote for almost $6,000(!!!). I should have asked him to restore my old system and leave, but the guy was pretty slick, and based on ADT's reputation, I ended up agreeing to a total install of $1,800 and $24 upcharge on the monthly fee. Basically, I was worn down, just wanted to get it over with -- a 7-1/2 hour ordeal. Thankfully, one of the first documents in the huge package of electronic ('just sign here') documents was the 3-day notice of cancellation. The next day I called to get some 2nd floor upgraded window sensors removed, and the customer rep indicated that 2nd floor windows shouldn't have been protected in the first place (the tech had recommended every window on both floors to be protected, we ended up going with just the back of house for the 2nd floor).

    Customer rep said they could remove and refund some sensors, but could not give a price. On 3rd day I decided to cancel and perhaps negotiate a minimal system, on researching other options I realized ADT was not to be trusted, and let the cancellation stand. Customer service rep promised I will get my money refunded in 30 to 60 days (real good for their cashflow)... I'm sure I will but thankfully I paid with a CC so I have an additional bit of protection if there is any issue with the refund. Bottom line -- everyone I talked to had a nice personality and seemed genuinely helpful and concerned, but the obvious goal was maximum sales, not maximum service. If you do try to use ADT, make sure you get written quotes before they do any portion of the install... installing the main unit before launching their up-selling routine is their "camel's nose" and very unethically puts the consumer at a great disadvantage.

    We’ve had ADT for years. We never had any major issues with them at all. Once the hallway center thing went off and the customer service rep told me I needed to change the battery. But when I got on the ladder and crawled up there and there was no battery. But I’m very pleased with them. I won’t consider changing or doing anything because I don’t have a reason to. My husband was an ex-policeman and we believe firmly in protection around the house. And considering any issues with ADT it was just normal wear and tear on equipment and the response was very quick.     After months, if not years debating about getting an alarm system, I finally decided to give it a go. I put hours upon hours of research into every alarm company imaginable and always found myself more interested in ADT every day. The fact that they have been around for over 120 years speaks volumes to me. Not only that, but security is all they focus on. From the first call to ADT, until the installation was completed, everything has went much smoother than ever anticipated. The saying "You get what you pay for" definitely holds true, especially when it comes to home security. The installation (Authorized dealer called Defenders) was awesome and the technician was very friendly, efficient, clean, and helpful. He made sure I completely understood how to use the system and cleaned everything before leaving.

    People reviewing this company seem to only complain about 2 things, which are price and contract length; neither of which can be blamed on ADT. When researching the company online, calling, and speaking to the installer the day he came, the fact that my monthly bill was going to be $48.99, that there was a 3 year contract with a 3 day cancellation period, and that it cost $99.00 to install was very clearly communicated. Typically, with the system you will receive the following: keypad, 3 door sensors, a motion sensor, and a key fob. I opted to forego the key fob and use that to apply to another sensor. In all, I have 1 cellular keypad with battery back up, 12 door/ window sensors (some normal, some slim, and some with vibration technology), 5 glass break detectors, as well as 2 motion. In all, my out of pocket price was $550.00 which was agreed upon before the installation.

    When reading through company profiles and reviews, it is important to understand that the company reputation and equipment are what really counts. ADT has 6 monitoring centers and has top notch equipment. I took the online reviews with a grain of salt because it is well known that if someone has a bad experience they are quick to tell everyone, versus someone who has a good experience may not tell anyone at all. Pros:

    -Excellent customer service and very knowledgeable employees.
    -Excellent and smooth installation.
    -High quality equipment.
    - The base station communicates with every sensor every 64 seconds, allowing the sensors to alert the keypad/you if there are any issues such as low batteries.
    -Modern and up to date.

    -High level of security with glass break detectors, motion sensors, window sensors, and vibration sensors.

    -Battery backup and Cellular communication means that if the power is out and/or someone cuts a phone line the system will still function like normal.
    -Highly customization (from the equipment you receive, to naming each sensor so you know exactly where a breach is, to setting up delay exit and entrance times).

    -Extremely reliable monitoring with fast response time.

    Cons:
    -Price
    -No option to self install

    -3 Year contract

    All in all, ADT is a great system, and in most cases can be up and running the day after your first phone call. I called and was quoted a price, the installer came the next day, I decided to add a few things, and the installation was completed. The other night around 4am my cat knocked over a glass vase, knocking it to the floor. On its way down it took out a few other items as well. As soon as the vase broke, the glass break detector set the alarm off. ADT called before I could even get out of bed to know what was going on. I highly recommend ADT as I have not 1 complaint to speak of.

    I read about ADT in a magazine, then I called their number, and they sent somebody out and installed the system.The last person that came and upgraded it was very professional. I got the digital keypad with my service package now and their service has been fine so far. When I had the old system, it went off a couple of times and they needed to replace the battery. So I called them about that and they handled it great. And if I don’t get the code in on time, somebody would call right away and let me know, or they’d say that the code was incorrect. A lot of people have changed from ADT to these new ones but I’ve stuck with ADT because I haven’t had any problems and I like their service.

    Everyone that we dealt with at ADT from our first call to the installer were really good. When we first called in, we called their 800 number and we were put in touch with somebody from customer service who walked us through all of the options and he was very knowledgeable. We had a couple of questions and he was able to answer them very quickly. The installer took his time and with the placement of where the keypad is, he had to really work to get the wires down to our basement. He just charged through it. We had a snowstorm and he was trying to hurry out of here, which I thought was very nice. But his install was perfect and did not leave until we fully understood how the system worked, on the pulse, with our key fobs, and the unit itself.

    There was not an option for "0" stars. Let me start by saying that I have had ADT for 17 years. I transferred my service from one home to another. And after this experience I am PROUD to say I disconnected your services. If anyone in corporate looks at this thing, you should be very concerned that a 17 year faithful customer has cut you off. And here is why... Every time and I do mean every time I need a tech to come to my home it’s a disaster! I have NEVER made a service call and it’s complete in one day. I always take the day off, sit home and either no one shows, they show late and then they are never competent enough to solve the problem, so I have to schedule for another tech to come out and sit AGAIN another day. However, I only want to discuss this current issue. Anything else you can locate in my account records. I woke up about 2 months ago to a very annoying chime that was reoccurring about every minute.

    I contacted ADT and after troubleshooting with tech support I was told that my battery in my motion detector had died. Rep said a tech had to come out. But based on my previous experience I refused tech for batteries and asked for them to be mailed. After waiting 7 days to get them in the mail I went to replace them and they were the wrong batteries sent to me. I contacted ADT again and explained what happened. This rep actually took the time to look up my system and because it was installed in 2009 informed me that it was an older system so batteries weren't available through ADT. The rep said if I purchased them myself that ADT would reimburse me. It took me almost 2 weeks to find a place selling the batteries, only to purchase them and that did NOT solve my problem. Annoying beeps still happened every minute. I called ADT again, after troubleshooting I was told it was my control panel.

    Needless to say at this time I am not happy, not happy at all. I had the call escalated to management because of the frustrating situation. I was informed that a tech needed to come out to fix the beeping but as a consolation prize she would add a touchscreen panel at no cost. GREAT right... no wrong. I didn't schedule the appointment right away because I had to take a day off from work and when I called back it was a runaround about getting the free touchscreen panel. Again I escalated the call. Okay we are in business, I get the appointment scheduled and the free touchscreen. The tech shows up and tells me he doesn't have a touchscreen on his truck and that he can fix my sensor and I have to schedule another appointment. WRONG. I took the day off for this. So I informed him that I had spoken to his dispatch 20 minutes before he came and they said that he definitely had the touchscreen panel.

    I also advised him that if he didn't have it that he could leave and that I would call ADT and speak to a supervisor. He checked his truck and it's a miracle... he has one!!! He asked me about a battery box that no other tech has ever bothered before and he takes 3 hours to replace one (1) sensor and he can’t seem to get the touchscreen to work. He informs me that I have to schedule for another tech because he's been at my house for 3 hours and that it is his daughter’s birthday and he has dinner plans. And he left!!! I immediately called ADT and told them what happened. While talking to a supervisor again, I notice that my pulse app says "system in install mode. A technician has to activate". He was in such a big rush that he left my system in install mode. So I can’t access anything on my pulse. I can't view cameras, arm, disarm. I can't do anything. And he is GONE.

    I'm speaking to a manager named Mike at this time. Because I have made so many calls he has assigned himself to me. He promises he will get a tech back out the same day, it’s roughly around 3:30 pm at this time. However, he finds a tech in my area who says he can come out in 30 minutes. And he actually shows up on time. He spent 2 more hours at my house but he fixed everything the previous tech did not. We sat at the kitchen counter and he had me check everything to make sure that it was working and everything was fine. He was the ONLY tech I can say good words about. Now it’s roughly 6 PM. The tech leaves and at about 10 PM I went to run out and set my alarm is not working again. It says it's offline. I'm sure it has something to do with that box the first tech messed around in. I called tech support all night trying to get it working... but that didn't happen. Mike calls me to make sure that everything went okay. I inform him of my trouble.

    He reads my notes and he can't believe the amount of times that I called and no one was able to get it started again. He says, “You need a tech to come out.” At this point I am teched out. 2 days and 3 techs. I took the day off for nothing and he wants me to wait another day for another tech. I told him absolutely not! We went back and forth and he finally agreed to send a tech out that same day to accommodate me for the inconvenience. Good right... wrong! It's probably around 3 pm when we decide that I will get a same day tech. He tells me that the tech will come between 5-7pm. I sit home and wait only to receive a phone call around 4:30 that says the tech changed the time to 9-11 PM. Well that's late, but I agreed because I really need to get this thing working. I feel vulnerable without it. Since I have now wasted 2 days I decided to run some errands and make the supermarket.

    At around 6 I receive another call that says the tech changed the time and that he is coming between 7-9 pm. Okay so now I have to abandon my shopping cart and hurry home. As soon as I got home I received another call saying that the tech says make sure that my ports are open or he can't fix anything. My ports? What are those and how would they become closed. I asked the woman calling me if it was possible to find out from the last tech if the ports were open. After waiting she confirmed that they were. Well the tech showed up to my surprise shortly after 7. But the first thing off his mouth was "you have to call your internet provider and open your ports. That's gonna take all night so you may have to reschedule" WHAT! What did he just say??? I kindly asked him if he could wait while I got them on the phone. I explained the dilemma that I had been through and he agreed.

    I also informed him that on my last call with Mike he determined that my gateway was reset and wiped cleaned and that he has notes for it to be replaced. Well, he says " I'm not changing that. It won’t make a difference, you have to open your ports". I tried explaining while troubleshooting the night before my gateway was not blinking the proper lights and it was decided that it should be changed. He refused. Didn't wait long for my internet provider at all. They said they needed an IP address for my PULSE and they could open the port. The tech said there was not an IP address affiliated with my pulse. The internet company says that there is. The tech is only repeating that the ports needs to be opened. So I used my home phone and called ADT myself again and was able to get instructed on where to get the IP address. My internet provider is able to open all 5 ports that he requested.

    The tech keeps saying they are still closed. The internet provider gave me a website to go to and check myself and they were all open. The tech says they are closed. I am frustrated to say the least. I asked him to please change the gateway that Mike instructed and he refused. Now it’s after 9 PM the 2nd day of waiting on a tech and he says he has to leave and I have to reschedule. This can't be happening! To add insult to injury when he sends the work order to my email address he states in his remarks that I began to rip all the equipment from my walls and that I threw them outside on my lawn in the rain. THIS IS A LIE!!! A VERY BIG LIE!!! I did not do any such thing. I threaten to do it, but I did not. Once I saw those comments on my work order I was LIVID. I called ADT. Asked them to cancel my services and refund me for the last 2 months that I haven't been able to use it.

    Mike called me to see how things went. Again, he assigned himself to me because he sees how bad things are with this. He was displeased that the tech did not follow the notes and he was also displeased that I disconnected my services. He tried to get me to reinstate them and get a supervisor to come out this time. But I refused. After 17 years of being a customer I am going to move on to another company. I think I have endured enough! How does me changing a door sensor evolve into me not being able to access my system for days and talking to about 10 tech support agents, 3 supervisors, 3 field techs and 3 days later still without the problem resolved. All I can say is GOODBYE ADT and good riddance.

    I've been with ADT for over 10 years. At first we had several issues with it going off and it wasn't supposed to go off. And they were very forgiving about that. And then recently one went off and it was just so nice for me to get a phone call. At first I didn't like the fact that they started charging per quarter for the fee. But after the first or second check that I wrote it was, “Oh, this is kind of nice!” I don't have to worry about it now. I have cellular back up so that for some reason we lose power we can still utilize it with the wireless back up. And I have home monitoring with them. Their service is excellent. Their representatives are very personable and very knowledgeable on the products and services that they have. If I have any questions or problems I could give them a call any time and their rep gets right back to me if he’s not available.

    We did not even receive what the Salesperson said we would. The system worked for about three weeks, maybe, before it went black. We've had to call about 6 times, told we could give it time, troubleshoot etc. Well finally we have someone come out, the "new" system is installed but it's not compatible with the camera we had installed by ADT a few weeks earlier! All the while we continue to pay for services we were promised and never got, and tech that simply works when it wants. User-interface is cumbersome and not household friendly. I do not recommend.

    In 2014, I moved into a house that already had ADT service. It had been deactivated but the person who came out to activate it and check all the contacts was extremely nice and helpful. He showed me how to operate it. The company has also been very nice. Every time I've called them, they’ve been very helpful and any service calls have been very promptly answered. I've gone through four service people since my very first time and they have all been extremely nice and helpful as well as knowledgeable. I had somebody come out to do a service adjustment in the last three months when one of the contacts was giving me a signal that it was not working. It had gotten out of alignment but the technician came out and changed the contact setting, and it has been working since.

    I just wish I could clear up this mystery signal that they get sometimes. I've had a couple of false alarms recently and it's not good because the police charged me for a false alarm after the first one and every time, it adds up a lot more. The backdoor usually does it and I may have a mouse that sets off the motion detector. Maybe they can set it higher, so it doesn’t scan the floor. But there's also a kitchen counter and it's definitely in line with that motion detector. I know that the mouse runs along this 'cause I've seen it above the counter. Otherwise, the keypad is very easy to work. I normally set it any time I'm leaving the house 'cause it's a good habit to be in and I've been very satisfied with it.

    We had ADT installed in 2005 at the tune of almost $4000. Have paid for service for the past 13 years. The control panel displays error message and I am told - after 50 minutes on the phone with ADT - trying to tell me how to fix it - concluding that I cannot fix it - will have to be done by a technician - that the only appointment for service is 3 days away. Was told that "you are an hour away from any service center". When asked to speak to supervisor was told by "Jerry" that he would have to see if one was available and needed to know why I wanted to speak to a supervisor. Really??? Was also told that system installed 13 years ago is the most up to date. When asked about an updated system with cameras and remote access was told "that is extra" with 3 year contract. When I stated I was going to change companies Jerry did not seem to mind. Jerry - you blow!!!

    I then was connected to a supervisor who was courteous, but still could not provide service for 3 days aside from putting me on a "wait list." I was told that emergency service costs "extra". I asked how much and was never told what the fee was, but told to wait until my appointment. BOTTOM LINE - PAID CUSTOMER FOR 13 YEARS - HOUSE UNARMED - NO SERVICE FOR 3 DAYS - INEXCUSABLE!!!

    Updated on 03/07/2018: Have been a paying customer since 2005!!! Actually posted review in February and ConsumerAffairs marked it "resolved". Not resolved. Discovered issues with our system several weeks ago (no telling how long it has actually not been functioning properly). Have had to call in numerous times - customer service is TERRIBLE - not knowledgeable. Ask for supervisor - very courteous and good at telling you what you want to hear in order to pacify you. In attempts to resolve our issues have had one ADT rep tell us one thing - the very next day another ADT rep tells you that was absolutely NOT FACTUAL! This has happened 3 times since over the past few weeks.

    Had service technician come out yesterday - I told him I wanted to set the alarm off while he was here to make sure it was working and for him not to touch the panel. He proceeds to enter "test" into my panel after I told him not to. The alarm is going off and I am speaking to him and he states, "you are yelling at me." What??? So unprofessional. He was told to leave. Second tech comes out today - tells me that what I was told by technical support during a 45 minute telephone conversation the day before was NOT TRUE. The tech today argues - but in a very polite way. I would label him a "polite smart **".

    OMG---I just signed onto my ADT account to attach copy of service call to this review and see there is a FLAG on my account that one of my batteries is low. I HAVE MAINTENANCE CONTRACT WHICH COVERS BATTERIES - THIS TECH NEVER EVEN LOOKED AT MY ACCOUNT or he would have seen I have a battery low!!! Beyond ridiculous!!! Hopefully this system will work in the event it NEEDS TO until I can make a decision on a new company.

    I’ve been with ADT a long time. I currently have their basic package, and if my wife forgets to enter the code quick enough, the phone gets called. They’ve responded real fast any time of the day or night, so I've always really liked that with them. I’ve recommended the system to friends since I’ve had it. However, for the first couple of years I had a really good price, but after that it gets a little pricey. For just a basic package, every year the price creeps up a little bit more.     ADT is the worst experience ever. I am a new member and since day 1 the service never worked. They sent the same technician twice and still not working. I have been bypassing windows to be able to partially alarm my house. Called customer service in ADT and they kept sending me to the installation company. Then the installation company would send me to ADT. Asked for supervisor and no one came on the line. Never did they even apologize or try to resolve. I need my money asap. Unfortunately I have to give this horrible company 1 star since 0 is not an option. HORRIBLE!

    Recently I accidentally set off my panic alarm. ADT called my home, I missed their call and called them back to advise I was at fault and apologized. The representative said she’d clear the report. About 8 minutes later a Deputy Sheriff showed up at my door. I told him what happened. He said they always check out panic calls just in case and understood me being embarrassed with kindness.     We have been clients ADT for 20 +Years. In all instances of concern in whatever we have had during those 20+ years, ADT has quickly addressed and repaired our problem. The are ADT equipment we use gives ADT warnings of potential or pending issues that may cause future problems. When it is apparent the back-up battery is near failure, ADT sends the service rep by to replace the battery. When our land-line telephone carrier couldn't or wouldn't guarantee us coverage I called ADT about that issue, ADT immediately offered and delivered a solution immediately. As my family has aged these little things have become more important. We can rely on the ADT system to notify the First-Responders in case they're needed. I find that comforting. Thank you ADT.

    Tech guy called and walked me through steps and said my alarm system was fine. But the problem is still happening. I have to go hit system button to turn off alarm and eventually it will reset itself. I don't know what is going on except is it irritating and I wonder what happens if this alarm goes off while I am gone. Will my system still operate as it should if someone breaks in.
