We are happy with the service. It could be a little better if you would call more quickly after an incident. It is often a door blowing open or other nonsense. Waiting for the call is painful when you are in a hurry. We will use ADT at our next residence.

Had a couple false alarms on my part and was embarrassed when I had to explain the causes. I was very pleased with the quick response and the talk I had with the monitoring agent. Any questions regarding my system were satisfactorily answered and left me with peace of mind. I use the remote app on my tablet and cell phone a lot to further my confidence that my home is secure 24/7. My only con is that replacement ADT parts differ in price between ADT and ADT dealers. ADT parts are much higher.

The first technician was very good. I think his name was Darren. He had to order a part and it came in a timely manner. The second guy ADT sent did not know how to connect the part. So Darren came back to do it in a few days. I think Darren was busy so the second guy came to do the work. Anyway Darren should have been scheduled to do the work he started. Things happen but we are pleased with ADT's repair people.

Tremendous help with a parent with Alzheimer’s to alert the caregiver to an open door. Thank you. One always has to watch wandering and security of any parent with any type of different ability. I could not sleep at night without the ADT system.

Here's the deal with ADT: First, your system will stop working half way through your contract. Next, nobody will be available to come look at it. But you'll pay your bill anyway, you know, because you're a stand up human being. Then, when your ** long contract expires, you'll call to ensure that they don't put you into some month-to-month billing **, because you know that's how they do. But then you'll have to listen to some guy from the retention department spout out 45 minutes of ** about how your insurance premiums are going to go up, etc. Now they won't cancel your contract until you listen to the whole 45 minute vomit fest. It doesn't matter how politely or forcefully you ask. They won't let you speak to a supervisor. They won't transfer you to another agent. And they won't take "I just want to cancel please" as a coherent thought. They keep talking in circles.
This is unethical, ADT. People have earned the right to cancel your ** service by paying their contract, and subjecting them to narcissistic ** agents whose only sliver of power in the universe is forcing you to listen to a ** spiel about insurance rates and equipment fees is insulting and, I suspect, illegal. If you bill me again, I'll sue. How's that for **?

I am extremely happy to have ADT to watch over me. They make me feel safe and secure and when I'm away, I no longer worry about someone breaking in and stealing from me. I'm really happy about the smoke and fire detector. I sleep with my bedroom door shut when I sleep so if there is a fire, they'll detect it, call the fire department and I can just work on saving myself and my tiny Yorkie.

I have been a customer for over 10 years. Most of my alarms are false alarm calls. They are quick with telephone response to my alarms, calm and courteous and easy to use. They are a bit pricey. But I have nothing to complain about.

The app doesn't always work, error occurred, try again. The rest of ADT Experience has been great. Fix the app, five stars. Sales and install were great. Our salesman Spencer has been very helpful and answered all of our concerns.

I have had very good relationships with ADT. They have called me promptly when I or the kids have set off the alarm and on one occasion had to call the police when I was not home. ADT has always been professional and courteous. I highly recommend them.

Great service. Very Friendly associates. When I need maintenance, the service dates are not spaces out, the service dates are appropriate timing manner. The monthly services is set at a great price over the competition. I love my service is why I still have ADT as my provider. I would and have recommend ADT services to all my friends and family. Our system had to be reset after our phone line went down and was repaired. The agent was knowledgeable and walked me through the process. She knew exactly what needed to be done. She was excellent. I would recommend ADT to a friend—5 stars.

Everything went really well. My questions were answered completely and the order taken promptly. I had to make another phone call back to ADT to ask if I could remove the old batteries. They were continuing to beep “low battery.” The technician talked me through the entire process. She then put my system “on test” until the new batteries arrive. When the new batteries arrive I will install them, do a whole system test. If there are issues or not I must call ADT to request my security system be removed from “on test.” Barring any issues that may need to be addressed. My old batteries in this particular case can be disposed of through a yearly program with our fire department.

We have had ADT security service for many years and have had the opportunity to speak with a service representative on several occasions during this time period. On each and every one of those occasions I can honestly say that customer service has been superior and any issues were addressed in a professional and timely manner. Things can be difficult at times. We got the wrong alarm installed and it took a while to replace it. We needed two cameras outside instead of one. And our dogs would set off the glass shatter before it got set properly. And I forget about the alarm and walk into the house before disarming it at times. Other than that it is okay.

I love my service with ADT. Every time something out of the ordinary happened they are right there. I was struggling at one point in my life trying to pay for my service and was going to cancel the service but ADT worked with me to get my bill cheaper and I was so happy about that so I stayed with ADT. I love ADT.

I think my security system works fabulously and, the response time we receive from ADT is also great. I appreciate the fact that we will at times, "set off our alarm" accidentally and our phone rings immediately. I have pushed the Fire button by mistake and I receive a call from ADT very quickly because they have dispatched the fire department and want to stop them if it's a false alarm. I love my security company!

We have had ADT for years and love it. The price is just right for the quality and reliability of both the system and the service. The system is fairly easy to maintain for the little things like battery replacement, and the insurance savings make it worth it.

Several times we have triggered the alarm in error, response time has been quick... just a wonderful reminder that someone is watching??? Agents have always been friendly and helpful. One time alarm was beeping and we could not figure out why. A call to ADT and a helpful agent helped us figure out that our "water mouse" had wet feet???

Had a great experience. Michael was very knowledgeable and cleaned up after himself well. Also was on time and finished the process quickly. He was not able to install the cameras because of our internet, but is supposed to return once we have found proper internet service.

ADT has been a wonderful home monitoring service for the past 7 years. 1 of my experiences that I will remember was the system was not armed, we have burn off from the stove while cooking, and ADT was still monitoring and called to make sure everything was alright. Outstanding service.

We had a power outage and was called about the low battery. We called ADT to locate the battery in question to learn that it loses charge after so long and that it doesn’t need to be replaced after all.

At the first appointment the tech ordered both alarms. One come in and there was a mix up on the other. The tech done a great job. It was a screw up from the parts department. Ended up with a partial job done.

No complaints whatsoever. The system was installed at my mother’s residence and she used it for approx 7 years. It provided the additional security she needed after my father died. Reps, Customer service and technicians have all been professional and helpful throughout those 7+ years. I would definitely recommend ADT to those needing additional security measures at their residence.

ADT provides a very reliable service at a reasonable cost. All our experiences with ADT have been excellent. We have been with ADT over 15 years. When we have had an alarm, ADT was on the phone with us almost immediately. The representatives were courteous and helpful.

On February 7th I fell asleep while cooking. If it had not been for the fire alarm on my ADT alarm system I would not be here. It woke me up. Funny thing is I had never considered the fact that it was even there. Well it is and it works. Thank you ADT.

I was not able to hear the alarm when ADT said it sounded in their office. A repairman came and fixed whatever was wrong. I was charged a $25.00 service that I did not think I should have been charged. Repairman was very nice and knew how to take care of problem.

ADT is always prompt to call when my alarm has not been deactivated. If I do not answer, they quickly call my husband. Police showed up to find my elderly father who was ok but did not know how to deactivate the system. ADT customer service is always helpful, kind, courteous, and professional to any calls. I was very impressed with the help I received on the phone. Once the problem could not be corrected, I was scheduled for a service call. I was scheduled for the same day and they worked with me so that I could leave work and meet them there.

The cost does not justify the service. I rarely have any need to use the service, but the cost has gone up again. The recent increase has made me want to make a change. Just haven't had time to look at other alternatives.

I love ADT. It makes use feel at ease. The only problem, I feel the prices have gone up and it's getting too expensive. Considering changing to another company. If you could lower my monthly bill, I would considered staying with ADT. We actually have 2 accounts with ADT, so having 2 expensive bills a month, you can understand why we are considering leaving ADT.

It is comforting to know that when the alarm goes off, the call to check is always well within a minute. I know, because I have set it off accidentally. I usually do that once or twice a year. The call back is all business until they verify that all is well. Knowing they can call police or fire gives you peace of mind that you have adequate protection.

My home alarm was not functioning properly due to previous work performed by the telephone co. ADT employee resolved this problem quickly. Taking all precautions, it was completed in a timely fashion. I've been with your company for 28 years, so I'm hoping I'm grandfathered in as to have an increase in my payments. Being on a fixed income is hard.

Arrived home from a fishing trip with the grandkids. Opened the garage overhead door. While unhooking the boat the kids opened the inner garage door to the house without us knowing. They set the alarm off. Didn't hear ADT phone call. 10 minutes later the Sheriff deputy was at the house. Good job ADT.

With our ADT App we can easily check on our home and animals and control the Alarm system if needed. Every individual that we have spoken to has been knowledgeable, polite, and professional. Alarm went off got notified by Pulse & phone call I was in Fla. ADT sent Police & nothing was amiss. The Basement “bar” spring moved & set off the sensor. I was able to shut off the alarm, bypass the basement sensor & reset the alarm from Fla on my cell.

I am more than satisfied with my ADT Security System; in fact, it exceeds my expectations. Why? First because it is thorough, easy to use, and if I can’t remember whether or not I activated the system, I simply use Pulse on my phone or iPad. The Service is as thorough as the system itself. When I needed new batteries, I simply called and within 36 hours a rep was at my door and installed replacement batteries. Lastly the cost: let me say that I get more from ADT than I pay for - I am completely satisfied.

Alarms work fine. ADT Pulse App is very slow, sometimes taking several minutes to connect. Frustrating to be standing in the garage, waiting to enter house. One night, never connected after 5 minutes, and we had to resort to the fob. With such poor connectivity, should give customers extra fobs for free. Had one false alarm, and ADT staff and local police responded very promptly.

ADT is the best. I arm it when I go to bed. It's the best security above all the rest. Everyone should have it especially now in my area, there's a lot of suspicious new numbers and a high rate of drugs and teen problems. Now I feel safe with ADT.

Visitor didn't know alarm was set before opening door, was loading up car. Didn't know what the code before the alarm went off, I rush to the system to try to turn it off before it was sent to the company.

When I called about the problem, an appointment was set up for the next working day. Unfortunately, we had to call and change it and another appointment was set up on the day I requested. ADT called twice to verify our appointment, one was an automated reminder and the second was an actual person telling me that the technician would call before he came. The technician called when he was an hour away. He was very courteous and efficient. He changed the battery in the keypad and motion detector and corrected the problem with one of the door sensors.

I accidentally set off my daughters alarm after taking her kids home from daycare during spring break. The ADT representative was helpful when I called even though he could not turn the alarm off. I finally got the correct code from my son and turned the alarm off. The police who arrived quickly were also helpful.

We were customers of Brink's and we inherited ADT. We have two keypads, three doors alarmed and one window. We make mistakes sometimes and forget to set the motion off when we're in the house. Then, it would go off and they would call. They always respond immediately and we're very happy with that. The service is fine and more than adequate for what we need. My husband and I are old people and if he leaves and I'm home alone, I always feel better having that alarm set. I feel very safe and I don't get spooked. And we set the alarm when we're here at home even, not just when we go away. We really enjoy the sense of security we get. But the cost keeps going up and it might be feasible for them to offer their longtime customers some nice incentives like their new camera.

My wife called ADT on a Thursday evening to get prices and features. She spoke at length with a salesperson and his manager. She had specific questions written down and wrote down the answers we got to the questions. The discussion revolved around a service quoted at $36.99 or thereabouts. One of the specific questions we asked was whether or not you could arm and disarm the alarm with an app on a cell phone. The answer to that question was yes.
During the conversation, the Salespeople told us about different deals and different equipment available and waived some fees and threw in some equipment and credit and we settled on getting the $36.99 a month service with a 3 year contract. We would pay the installation fee of about $105 after tax, and we would get a $100 gift card in the mail, after installation as a way to waive the installation fee. We scheduled an installation for the following Monday. The sales team said they would send a follow up email with all the details explaining what we were getting and what was covered and they also said that they needed a credit card to start the process and that they would apply a pending charge for the installation/activation fee that would not be charged permanently until the installation was complete.
Monday afternoon, the installers arrive. We still don't have the email detailing what was agreed upon and the $105 charge has been permanently charged to my checking account. The installers, before they start anything, say there had been some communication issues with other people they were doing installs for and wanted to make sure we knew that the service that allows the app based arm/disarm feature is not the standard $36.99 fee, but an additional $16 a month.
My opinion...classic bait and switch. We called back our salesperson, but he was not available, so we spoke to someone else and explained our issue. He agreed that he would feel the same way in our shoes, but there was nothing he could do, other than give us some additional credit for other pieces of hardware (camera or more window units or whatever). I cancelled the order and sent the installers away. It has only been 2 days, but I still don't have my money back, I have no email correspondence documenting the order or cancellation and I've gotten more and more annoyed by this experience. I called Slomin's as the ADT installers left my house, and that evening, I had an email contract clearly explaining what I would be responsible for and what services were covered with their setup. This might just be a case of miscommunication, but it certainly didn't feel like it to me. I would not recommend ADT to anyone.

I made the HUGE mistake of inquiring about this service online. I'm a first time homeowner so I wanted to get security on my house. I didn't complete my inquiry online, but they still had my phone number and they immediately called me. They gave me a great spiel. Told me it'd be $49 a month, and all I had to do was book a time for a technician to come out. The catch - they wanted my credit card number so they could charge me $104 for the person to come to my house. I told them I didn't want to do that at this time. The assistant manager got on the phone and ASSURED me that I would get reimbursed that money. She also threw in an additional $400 of free equipment and a $100 gift card. I decided to go ahead and book the appointment because this was too good to be true.
The person came out and installed their kit before he then showed me all the equipment I had to pay for out of pocket. His total assessment was over $2000. I told him I didn't want to do that. I naively thought that the $800 package they were offering plus the extra $400 the manager gave me would cover the security equipment. I told the technician I didn't want to spend that much. We got the price down to something that still too high but something I thought I could manage. I had to pay for half the equipment up front. He then assured me that the first charge for my service wouldn't come out for a month along with the rest of the equipment charge.
So I check my charge card tonight. Not only did I not get reimbursed my initial $104, but they also charged me a prorated $80. When I called and complained about the $104 charge that the assisted manager told me I'd get reimbursed, the person said "the sales people tell people the wrong information all the time." She also said she gets complaints like this a lot. The Visa gift card was supposed to go toward my charge, not an extra perk as it was originally described. Oh and that $49 a month that was supposed to be my monthly fee...forget it. Because I'm using their app, I have to pay $52 a month. Between the $80 plus the $104 plus the equipment charge, I'm out over $600 within the span of a week. Another thing - I'm locked into a contract for the next 36 months unless I want to pay 75% of the charge right now. This is not right. Don't use this service. They do not tell the truth.

We've been with ADT for years and we've had nothing but good experiences with them. There were two of our window magnets that, for some odd reason, quit working and they couldn’t fix it. So, they installed all new wireless magnets on our windows ‘cause ours were the ones with the wires. And instead of paying the full price, due to loyalty we only paid $250. They did it all within a couple of hours. It was excellent. Every now and then, I forget that I have the alarm on. When I come home, I try to take something to the trash through the back door and it goes off. They promptly call within a minute or two. And if they can’t reach us by landline, they will call on the cellphone. And if nobody answers, then they send the police and whatever else out.

Several neighbors of mine have ADT. We then called their rep on the phone, and then he came in and explained the services and what he thought I should have done in the house. My service package includes a keypad and a key remote. Windows, doors and the basement have been monitored, and I'm satisfied, 100%. The installer was excellent -- he was fast, accurate, polite, very conscientious of his work, and he explained everything to me too. He showed me how to use the keypad. Installation was fast and accurate. ADT is very accessible, easy to use, and easy to install. Everything that you need to do, you can do online. If you needed to talk to someone, you could do that also. And some of the features they have, you can do them right online.

I had Brinks and I had whatever was before that and then ADT took it over. I like their response to alarms. They did what they're supposed to do. They called on time and called the police and did what was necessary to secure the home. I am very satisfied with what they promised and what they offered. I had a problem not understanding the fire alarm system or the way the smoke alarm works. I spoke to someone in customer service who explained it and tested the whole system for me and assured me that it was working properly. The interaction was done very professionally. They're efficient and they do what they promise.

We have been ADT clients for over 10 years in the UK. We moved to the USA and went with ADT as their system was already installed in our new home. We wanted to add home automation features like NEST thermostats and smoke alarms. They gave us a competitive quote that included those things. When it came to installation the problems began. The installer spent over 8 hours doing little to nothing other than making my wife feel very uncomfortable, and another engineer had to come out to do the installation.
The Nest products were not installed because they were incompatible and so were removed from our order BUT the discount we were offered was all on these third party products so low and behold we are now paying full price >$1300 for a system which was already installed in the house. We were told we could cancel in 6 months. So after 3 months I try and cancel and guess what. No you can't sir!!! You signed a 3 year contract and the 6 month money back guarantee doesn't apply to you. Today I tried to downgrade the system and was told that they would not do it because they have the best equipment installed in our home! So my option is suck it up for 2.5 years or pay the cancellation of $1100. Thanks ADT that's real HONEST of you. When your security company steals from you!

ADT's service is superior. The reps were really good when they came out, and once in a while, when I do not get the alarm turned off right away, they respond very fast and are always so good and patient with me. They are a very good company. Additionally, the emergency fob that I can carry around and lets me know if anybody's outside or inside is very nice.

I had an appointment with ADT to come out to give me a quote on a security system. The guy kept going outside making phone calls. Finally three hours later when I was about to sign I verified the rate that he told me and he said no. It wouldn’t be 27.98. It be 58.99 so I told him that I had to think about it. At that time he obviously came very irritated when stayed another hour trying to convince me and in the meantime he took off the panel of my security system. Took all the wiring out and then he went to leave when he realized I absolutely was not going to go with him and he refused to put my original panel back on. Said he wasn’t authorized and didn’t know how to put it back on when he in fact took it off and pulled all the wires out so my system I have now is virtually useless.
I will have to call another company to have a person that actually knows something about security systems to reconnect it. He was so rude and it was actually frightening me. He got somebody a manager on the phone and the first thing she asked me was what was my birthdate. I’m sure it was to figure out how old I was so she could put the pressure on me like I’d be scared of her too! I would never at this point consider going with ADT/Defenders nor should anyone else.

I've been with ADT for a long time now, about more than 10 years. So far, all my interactions with the staff have been good. I don't have to reach out many times. They have notified me when the alarm has gone off. Response time was good and I like that. They've been professional and good. The equipment helps and is easy to use. I'm just wondering if it might need updating so often. But my experience has been good. I would recommend them.

Representative was thorough, respectful, precise in information and directions. Installation was quick, clean and responsive to questions/comments. Tamper switch alarm after installation was met with rapid notification, immediate direction assistance and scheduled technician visit. Technician returned to replace door sensor with the same helpful and friendly demeanor.

We are moving across the country and moving in with relatives, when we cancelled our service or asked for it to be put on hold till we find a new house. We were told we had to pay the remaining contract in full! DO NOT sign a contract with ADT. You will be held to ransom if you happen to have to move!!!

We love ADT. I’ve been with them for four or five years. I'm happy with them and with their services. They charge per different services, like how many sensors, windows and glass breakers you have. It all depends on what you want. I have had wonderful service. If something was not working correctly, they will go through it with me and tell me how to do it or take it apart to do whatever I need to do. They are very helpful and knowledgeable. It was very professional too with the installation team. I would recommend them.

I had recently moved in to the home and it had been burglarized so I was looking for a security system. The sales rep was very friendly. I have quite a few windows in this house and he was trying to figure out the best and the cheapest way to put sensors on everything. As a matter of fact, one of the problems was the TV room. It is an addition to the actual house and in that room, there are six windows. Doing those six windows would have added a sizable amount to the house. So he suggested that we set it up so that if someone breaks the window, the alarm would go off, not necessarily if they open the window. It was a good solution because the alternative was quite a bit of money. Because with the way they price it, we had already gone to the free part.
I like the sensors. If anyone tries to open the windows or the doors that had sensors on it, the system alerts me that something is being opened or closed. The sales rep put all sensors on all the windows except the TV room. He said that the motion detectors would have to handle that if someone actually breaks a window. The installer was very nice too. He got along a little better with my son because I'm not really a computer person and he was trying to explain how to use the internet with the ADT system. He explained everything to my son and my son explained everything to me. It worked out very well.
The only problem that I'm having is because the house is only one-story. It's rather long and the alarm is in the front part of the house. The alarms had gone off and I couldn't hear it back here in my bedroom. Otherwise, this system works as low as anything I've ever had. It was funny 'cause one day my alarm just started going off and I didn't know it was going on. ADT called me and they were trying to make sure that people knew their codes. The representative said that if I didn't know my code, they can't turn off the panic alarm. I couldn't remember it but she was able to send me the codes and I'm glad that they did a trial run. As soon as I saw the code, I knew what it was. But I didn't know at that moment and if something had happened, I would have been at a loss. I'm satisfied with the service and I would tell others to get it.

There was ADT in the house we bought and we continued it. We’ve had ADT in the other house, but the one we have here is a lot more extensive. It has security and some automation services. So it has cameras and door locks, and all those are automated. But there are no thermostats. We like the package and the app. They, once a year, come do the maintenance on it. It’s a good service. We’re happy with it. And any time I have a problem, I call the 800 number. They schedule something once they can do something remotely, and they come here. All the techs were very knowledgeable and helpful too. So, I don’t think any time I ask for something, they were not able to do it the first time. The only gripe is that there are similar services from other company that are cheaper. ADT is expensive but I have no issues with the quality of work or the services they bring.

I'm satisfied with ADT. It turned to be a lot more than what I anticipated it would be from the advertising. I didn't anticipate a $450 installation and the service fee I'm paying every month, but I'm managing okay. The monthly cost for the service was explained to me but not all of the other expenses involved. I would have done it still but there was no full disclosure and complete representation in the beginning. I have a large home, and the installation representative who came to put the system in got out and went to work. And I had no idea for what we needed there. I should have requested a known-premises estimate before I authorized any work. But because it wasn't poorly represented, it was partially my fault.
My wife and I are older and sometimes we forget to disarm. And we go out and do some of that kind of stuff. And then, we live in a small town. I understand that in the beginning, the police always responded to sort the stuff. And once they found out who it is, they don't come out anymore. They just give a telephone call to make sure everything's okay. I would recommend ADT to a friend but giving them detailed information on the experience that I had, and how they could avoid not having my experience.

Our neighbors have ADT and we looked at a few other companies and decided that ADT would fit our needs. We already had a home system here and ADT just added to that. We had trouble finding the sign to put in the yard but once we found that, things went better. One of the things we are interested in doing, however, is changing one of the sensors so that we can go out a given door rather than having to go through the garage at all times. But we’re satisfied enough with ADT. I would tell my friends to look into this company.

From our first home in 1985, we've always had the same package for doors and windows. We moved in here in 2002 and ADT included the smoke detectors. For the installation, they sub-contracted it out to some local gentleman. We were still having the house worked on at that time but the workmen were leaving tools here overnight so we had them put in alarms on all the downstairs windows and the doors. And it was fine. Also, they're always polite when we call if we have an issue and they're very professional. We are planning on installing windows and they indicated that they would be able to disconnect the service while the windows were put in and possibly discuss installing another type of service once that was done. We've been happy with the service and everything has been efficient. We'd recommend them.

ADT was local for us and their price was good. Their rep was knowledgeable, friendly, and wasn't pushy. He did an excellent job explaining. The installation team has been very professional as well. They got it all done in one morning. So far, the system has been working fine and its features have been great. Their response time has also been excellent. One time the smoke from what I was cooking set off the fire alarm and they called within a minute.

We bought the house three years ago and before we even moved in, someone had been over here and tried to steal copper from the outside air conditioning compressor and then there had been other incidents that took place in various neighborhood here, so we discovered that it was time to put in a security system. Our daughter in California had this front door ring that has a camera and my wife and I had been talking about getting one. So I called ADT and they told me that it was going to be a couple of dollars higher on monthly charges, which was fine. Then three days later, I got a call from a salesperson and indicated that they would like for me to also consider cameras and this contraption that goes to an electrical outlet that can be controlled remotely, so you can turn your lamp on or off. They had those on a promotion for $11 less from what we were paying.
So we had the indoor and outdoor cameras installed and we got the ring and the remote-controlled device for the outlets, which I had used when we were travelling just to make sure all is well in the kingdom. The installers were courteous, professional, and they got the installation done quicker than I expected. Also, there are several devices that make it very convenient to turn the system on and off. I have the Pulse that I can use with my cellphone or iPad, and I can also use the fob. I also got the service where I can check my bills and statements online. The security system worked quite well and it gives us peace of mind. ADT is a reputable company and has been in business for a long time and I don't hesitate to tell my friends or family to give them a call if they are interested in it.

I'm very satisfied with ADT's service so far and I'm thinking about getting some more improved things with ADT since I live on my own. I recently fell twice in the house and my family wanted me to get something. I told them that my fear was that if I'm down and can't get up and have to call 911, they will have to break in because of my ADT and I might not be able to reach the panel. So, other people were telling me about something that I could have on the outside. So that when I would call them, I could give them my key code. I'm going to look into that.
I got ADT for my daughter as a wedding gift before I even got mine. She moved in a new home and didn't know anyone in the area and we were getting ready to go on a long trip to Florida. And I just did not feel safe with them leaving their home not knowing any neighbors for that length of time. So she has ADT that I pay the bill and then I also have ADT that I pay the bill as well. I've had ADT for seven years and I have the protection of the doors and windows, so it's very limited. The installation of that was smooth and the guy was very informative. I don't have cameras but I'm gonna be doing it very soon because my family wants me to do that.

First time I ever bought a security system. When the technician arrived, he did an inspection of all doors and windows both upstairs and main floors. He also went into family room, attached garage and basement to review all possible entrances. He installed the panel in the living room explaining that they no longer needed to be by a door. He explained all options available, also review smoke detectors and carbon oxide detectors. I upgraded my plan based on all he was told to me. I feel he took the time to make sure all sensors worked properly. Taught us how to use our keypads as well as help us download app to cellphones and showed us how to work that. All in all it was an excellent experience.

I did a research on ADT, and I saw a few people with it, too. I have been with them a little over a month now. Both the sales rep and installers were good. I got their wireless feature in the service package I bought. It’s very easy to alarm it and turn it off. ADT is a good alarm system, and, so far, I’m enjoying it. I would recommend them.

Our initial installation went well and the technician was very friendly. We originally signed up for the Pulse wireless app but decided to switch to the hard-wired app in order to save money on the monthly billing. Our second technician was just as friendly and was able to complete the task quickly. I will also add that when I called to make the change, the customer service personnel were extremely friendly and helpful.

I started out with Brink's and ADT bought them, so I was one of those inherited systems. I have the window and door security, both the wired and sensors. I have ADT controlling one of my air conditioners, and I have security cameras and smoke detectors. The service has been excellent. Everything went well during installation, but they didn’t offer to explain anything to me. They came in, walked around, looked at equipment and did things, but they never explained to me what it was that they were doing, what the problem was, or offered to answer any questions about the system.
Also, there are some features I would like to see as part of the system. On the old Brink's, I had a little fob to carry around with me as an emergency button, and that went away with ADT. I understand that ADT can offer something, but not as part of that system, which is unfortunate. I have asked several times and no one’s been able to explain to me how to make it happen. On the old system, when I left the house, I could just hit one button and it sets the alarm. Right now, I’d have to put in my code and then hit “Away” in order to have it set the alarms.

An ADT sales rep called me and asked me if I was in the market for a security system. I told him that he was right on time since I was looking. He then told me about the package with the outside cameras and that they had an inclusive package that would run me $59 a month. I then got the camera and the inside security system and he set up an appointment for the installer to come out. The installer was excellent. He installed everything and explained everything to me, showed me how to put the portal on my telephone and showed me how to use it. I only had one problem. The rep told me that he was going to waive all the fees that I would have had to pay out during the day of the installation, such as installation fees. However, a couple of days after the installation, a lady called to ask me if I liked the system and which day would I want my payments to come out since it will come straight out of my bank account.
So I told her what day I wanted my payments to come out. However, a week later, I was looking through my bank account and saw that they had taken out $99. I called the rep and I said, "You told me that I wouldn't be charged for anything upfront and that I would just get a monthly bill and my monthly bill would be a certain amount. Why did they take that out of my bank account?" He said, "Well, I really don't know why they took it out. But I'll find out." That happened on a late Friday afternoon so he said, "Well, I'll be back in the office on Monday. I'll check it all out for you and I'll give you a callback." He did that and he told me that they had accidentally charged me for a month upfront and I wouldn't have to pay for another month until the end of March. I said, "Okay. But the lady did not tell me that. No one told me that."
If I hadn't had any money in the bank, then I would have sent my account into overdraft and I don't like things like that. I like to know what I'm paying when I'm paying them. So he said, "Well, I'm gonna go back to it and listen to the recording because she should not have charged you anything at all. Your first payment should have paid them out." He then apologized for what happened but told me that he can't do anything about it now since the charges have already come out except that I won't be doing another charge until March. Aside from that, I've been very satisfied with ADT's service. I had to call the one time because my cameras on the outside of my home weren't showing up and they sent a guy out and did something to the system. Then, the salesman called me to find out how everything was going and I told him that I was satisfied with it and that if I knew anybody who was talking about a security system, I would be sure to recommend ADT.

I had the ADT system installed fifteen years ago then upgraded it six years ago. Their sales reps were very helpful, nice and answered all the questions I needed. Through the years, I like ADT’s ease of use. I also like the ADT Pulse feature and that they come out on my phone. If the alarm goes off, I get either an automated call or a person calling. They're very attentive. I’m very satisfied with the service overall and I would strongly recommend them.

Two door to door salesmen cornered my wife on our front lawn and would not leave even after repeatedly being asked to. They then claimed that we were a "model" house and would be getting free service as long as we displayed an ADT sign in our yard, and also claimed that the service could be cancelled at any time. My wife agreed simply to get them off our property with the intention of cancelling the service after I got home from a work trip.
Of course when we went to cancel we were told that we were locked into a three year contract and would have to pay a massive cancellation fee. She ended up speaking to a manager who seemed sympathetic and appalled at ADT's deceptive and intrusive sales techniques, however in the end, this manager said that we signed a contract and nothing could be done. Hands down the worst experience I have ever had with a company and now I'm stuck with a mediocre yet highly overpriced security system. Thanks ADT! I look forward to cancelling my service the second my contract expires!

ADT replaced an old system that was probably about 25 years old from a company that was not very responsive. ADT works really good. Their representatives have been very nice and the installation went fine. There was something wrong with the set-up. They were out here two weeks ago, and they had to change a defective sensor. And the sensor works but when I set the alarm, it won't let me unless I close the door. I have a cat and the door has two settings. One is just barely open, and then the other is fully closed. And I can't leave it open for the cat because it won't let me set the alarm. So, I called last week. And I've been waiting for them to call me to set up an appointment.

I asked to have my system upgrade and a person came and wanted to charge me 1000 dollars. I called about system advertised for 27.99 and given more upgrades as advertised but they said it is for new customers. I would like to have my bill reduced and my system upgraded as they advertised and of my overpayment for over 20 years. I feel they to advantage with seniors like husband is 94 and in a nursing home. They will not cooperate so I will have to discontinue services to get a new one. I feel I been overcharge for an old system at least 20 years and would like some money credited to my account.

I've had a very good experience with ADT. The rep got here in time and did his job. He showed me how to use the system. The installation also went really well. He got here on time on Saturday morning. The installer cleaned up. He asked me a few questions so he knew just what was needed. Then he went out to his truck and brought the equipment in and start setting all up. He showed me how to change the password. He said the password starts of with just a one, two, three, four. Then he said, “Now, you need to come up now with a number and set it yourself." I did that. He ran through some test and that’s what we use. He also had me to set it far like I was going to go out or open or close the doors. Also, he had all the little boxes and I was going to pick them up and put it in the trash but he said, "No, don't touch those. I got the piece and there are numbers on those I've got to get.” He told me that he'll clean them up. He did a really good job.
I really like the remote. Instead of having to run to the board on the wall each time as I leave, because I got it on my keychain, I can just set it. Then, when I come in, before I even walk in the door, I hit it and un-set it. The first time I used it, it was Sunday morning. I've set it, went to church and went out and got a bite to eat, came back in, then it dawned on me. I open up the door and it went off. I ran over to the wall to the board there. Our kids got an alarm for their house and they referred ADT. Years ago, we also ran into their sales rep downtown at one of the weeknight farmers markets. We spoke to him about our house because we were thinking about getting a different type of system. We made an appointment for him to come out and he didn’t show up. We called and made another appointment, and he didn’t show up for that one either. Finally, when we got a hold of somebody and they came out, we reevaluated the system that we had and the rep made some suggestions. When they came out to install it, it couldn’t be done at our house for some reason. It could have been because of the old system we had, so that wasn’t a very pleasurable experience.
Since then, we went to a wireless system but that didn’t work out for our house here either. We had some barrier roof issues and the Wi-Fi wasn’t the strongest. So, ADT came back and they had to hardwire the system back in again. Everything seems to be doing fine now. We have exterior doors intrusions and glass breakage in a couple of the rooms. We also have smoke or fire or heat sensors tied into the system. ADT's service has been good and right up-front. I recommend them. If my friends were looking to get a system, I would tell them that ADT is the system we have, the company works fast, and we’re happy with them.

ADT seemed reliable and they were very well situated where they've been in business for such a long time that we felt confident with them. We have the stay home security where we set it if we were at home at night. Then we have the stay away which picks up movement in the home if we're away. We got two of their fire alarms also. If I'm frying bacon too hard a regular fire alarm will pick that up and then you got to fan it to stop it. ADT don't pick that type of smoke up. They literally pick up the smoke if it were a fire.
Their sales representative was awesome. He came in, explained step-by-step to us what he was doing, what the system did, how many doors would be aligned with the system and explained the unit itself including how it worked. He was self-explanatory, very easy to understand, and willing to listen to any questions we may have. He was the one that suggested after we mentioned the fire alarms. He mentioned the fire alarms that they have and provide that's why we decided to go with those fire alarms too. The installation process took a reasonable length of time. I absolutely love ADT's service and I would highly recommend them. They have great customer service and were very diligent about what they do. They cleaned up the mess that they made when they had to drill holes and I have no complaints. They are excellent so get them.

We had Brink's security system first then ADT bought them out, and we've been with ADT ever since. I have the alarm system and I’m very satisfied with their service so far. The last interaction I had with their reps was very positive.

The gentleman who installed our system was very well mannered, addressed concerns we had and explained how we could use the system and software for our mobile phones. The whole experience was great. There had been another ADT system in this home, but it was outdated. He updated everything, explained the options available to us, and we are "happy campers" knowing our home is safe and protected.

The sales rep from ADT was a really nice lady. We had problems with some neighbors and the only way to solve it was to have CCTV, and she knew all about it which was impressive. So, she got it set up and was really good. And after they left, I asked for another camera and they came out and installed it for free. So, that was really nice of them. However, I would recommend that if they were going to install CCTV, make sure to send out a technician that has all the information, technique and has been trained for it in particular. We had a little trouble hooking it up as the tech was not totally versed on it. But as far as customer service on the phone, they’re spot-on and they've been really helpful. Without them, we wouldn’t have been able to stop what was going on in our neighborhood. Anytime you have any question, they jump right on it. They even call you back. If you ask for a specific tech, they make sure to try to get that tech.

We're high in the mountains and live in the woods. My neighbor down our road has had ADT for a long time. I also saw quite a few people have it, so I told my husband we should get it. And we did. I had a keypad installed. The service has been great. And if I had a problem, they would send somebody right down. We were out of lights for six days and it went off. I called them before it went off and they said it was the batteries. But then it went completely off, but then came on when the lights went on. It took a little time and then it went back to normal. One time we had a problem they left their number anytime I call. The tech came right down the next day. He hooked the system straight to the telephone line as that was the only way to solve their problem. We have told quite a few people about ADT and they're also talking about it.

I was broken into and ADT came before my insurance company did. I bought their basic system package for $99 and I got two key fobs, a keypad and door alarms. A nice gentleman installed the system and I really liked him. He was quick and got it done really fast. The system has been okay, but I need an extra keypad for upstairs because I have a two-story home. They wanted $150 for another keypad so I just let it go but I intend to get a different system. My internet and cable TV provider has a home system and I plan to switch over to them when I can.

My next-door neighbor had ADT and I’ve seen his sign in the yard. I’ve heard more about ADT than any other security plan. I also knew about the cable company, but I have so much trouble with the cable that I didn’t want to risk it. So I got ADT Pulse, where I can get it on my phone, and I have the smoke detector. When the ADT guy came in and hooked it up for us, he told us that they were giving us a $100 gift card. But instead of getting a gift card, we chose to get the smoke detector since it was the same price. The guy was really awesome and nice. He walked us through how to set it, and what to do in order to alert somebody if there was an emergency. I set it every day using the digital keypad, and I know it works because when I’ve been away and the alarm had went off, they’ve called me. So that was awesome. I'm totally satisfied with their service.

All these years that we have owned our house, we've always had a security system. Now, we don't like to not have one. We're still new in Florida and we didn't want to have to look around and talk to people, and ADT was running a good program at that time so we gave it a try. The sales rep was on time and was very thorough. We got the basic $49.99, which was supposed to be the starting package. We then added two more points of contact, which were supposed to be $80 but were on sale at that time.
Then we were told that we had to pay another $25 for something, and the initial bill became over $111 instead of $49.99. He gave us a discount but it’s still what we ended up being charged. A lot of things were not informed, like the tax, and it had to be paid for on top of whatever. We still like to be told from the start that we had to pay tax and that the $49.99 can be much higher. They could have been more transparent. We were told to come back to them after six months and they will see if they can do something about it.
Also, I asked for the best and most experienced guy ADT had because we had been in Florida for a year and had been running into problems with people who tell us that they can do certain things. And when they finally send out someone to do the installation, the people often have very limited abilities, so we made sure they send us somebody who can get it done without having to come back again and again. ADT did that for us and I was very happy. I would tell my friend to go to ADT and not to overanalyze. They know what they’re doing and as far as I'm concerned, ADT has been around for a long time and they back up. I would tell my friends, whoever who wanted one, they should because we were given good advice by the salesperson and we follow through and we're very happy with everything that we have now. It’s been a very good experience with ADT.

Experience was frustrating after I inquired about wireless home protection add on equipment. Was scheduled twice by representatives. Took off from work as signature required presence of homeowner. On visit representative had no information what he was supposed to install and update. Felt sorry for myself and his ignorance. Later I contacted ADT to rescheduled again. Was rescheduled. Canceled another appointment at last moment though with prior confirmation of details and every ordered checked. Reason equipment not available. ADT needs better communication and up to date state of art services to be a leading communication industry what their industry requires promptness in timely fashion.

The system that I have right now is dated and I called ADT at one point in time. But an upgrade was going to cost me a big bunch of money. ADT took over from the company that I had before, Brinks. And I thought for a person who had the same account for 27 years, they would have been a little bit more attentive to what my needs were. But I did not get satisfaction there. I've had an upgrade before and that was about 15 years ago. It was under Brinks and they were totally great with it. But the most important thing has to be being able to answer an alarm when it goes off and ADT has been doing that so far.

I've had ADT since 1995 and their service has been very good. I got a fire, entrance and security package in the house. I have cameras in the house, doors and the windows. If the alarm goes off, they call me right away and if I don’t answer the phone, they call the police so it works very well. The other day, customer service called me. I'm supposed to test the alarm once in a while and I hadn’t done it as of the time that I had it checked. They wanted me to do it so that was very satisfactory. They are efficient and punctual.

We had Brinks initially. We’ve had the home security system for at least 20 years. Since we've been with ADT, we’ve had them come out and I wanted to update to the Wi-Fi one. But we’re out in the country and we don’t have a strong enough signal. So, I've tried for them to do that for me. Recently, we've had the same guy come out, and he's very nice and professional. We just have a box on the wall. It still says Brinks on it, and it works very well. We're having some work done and, for some reason, there's beeping every now and then. But overall, we’ve always been very happy with ADT.

The girl I talked to told me it included 15 doors and windows and I only have six. The guy that came to do the work said it was only five so I had to pay for one which kind of upset me but he was a nice guy and real courteous. So I paid and then argue.

We had several break-ins prior to putting in a security system 20 years ago. We have gone from company to company and ADT is our third. So far, we're very happy with their security system. When the alarm goes off for any reason, we get a call almost immediately. It's extremely prompt and we're impressed with that. Moreover, we added a panel four years ago and it was in the back of the house. The gentleman who came in was very very nice and did what needed to be done. However, when my husband came in, he couldn't hear it. It was going off more often than it should. We had ADT come again and put another control panel close to the front door. It makes a lot of noise and it's worked out very very well. Overall, we're very happy with our experience with ADT. We would recommend it.

I was working in Cablevision and we offered ADT services at that time along with the Triple Play, internet connection, TV phone service, and a cable. That was the first time I heard about them and we've been in contract for three or four years. Their team is prompt and they are very nice and respectful people. They call right away when the system is off. We have cameras, sensors and the fire and CO detection. Also, we have the access to the internet, website, as well phone apps, so we are always informed about what’s going on in the system. We think it’s great and that’s why we keep it. And they're improving over time. They give access to different stuff so we can just add to the system which is really great.

Called just to get info and to see how much it would be monthly for a system. Got pressured like no other to setup an appointment when I still needed to talk it over with my girlfriend first. Then got transferred over to promotions where it was the last straw. She tried like no other to get my credit card numbers because apparently if I didn’t sign up this current day, that I would lose out on a few things. I told her I can’t, and she then kept asking what the hold up was and kept trying and trying and even asked me when my payday was. This was through the protectyourhome.com website. Your promotions lady sure pushed me and she pushed me right out of wanting it.

ADT is a good alarm company. I worked in insurance for a number of years and a lot of my customers had them. We wanted the system to protect our house if we weren't here since we were going on vacation. The gentleman who came to install our system was very nice and explained everything to us. ADT is a well-known company and I have been a customer for two years now. I chose a basic package with the alarm and motion sensor in the rooms and alarms on all the windows and doors. In addition, there was an advertisement that if you sign up and pay $100, you get your $100 back. I got a debit card from them with $100 on it, so they followed through. The installer was a nice, young gentleman who was happy to answer any questions I had. He was good.
So far, I'm extremely satisfied with their service. I had people breaking into my house and as soon as I put the system in, it stopped. It was the most amazing thing in the world. In addition, their reps were always very helpful and eager to resolve whatever concerns I had. They were happy to take care of it. They can also take my check automatically with no problem. I may sometimes forget in the morning and let the dog out causing the alarm to go off, but as long as I set the alarm at night, everything is good. I'm very pleased with what they do and I would definitely recommend them.

The service is more expensive than other security services and each monitoring device costs extra including for windows. Once you sign a contract they have you for 3 years; this was no issue at first because we loved where we lived, but my father in law was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer and 5 years to live if inoperable. We wanted to move closer to home during his last few years. We chose an apartment that where it would not make sense to have an externally operated security system such as ADT, but they would not let us out of the contract and demanded 75 percent of the remaining 6 months even though we could not receive the services. They claim they will credit our account if we reinstate within a period of time, but why would I ever start another contract with them? They really shouldn't treat people this way. Use a different service; they don't deserve yours.

We were with ADT's predecessor and we have had ADT for 18 years now. We have them here in Corpus for 12 years and had them six years in French Wood. We've got their alarm systems and camera which we can monitor remotely. The dealings I had with their customer service were great. We had to call them this morning because we had our cable system changed and our Wi-Fi was converted into another room so I had to move the gateway box up from one room to another. The guy on the phone told me how to do that and I didn’t have to have a technician out. We’re very happy with ADT and it’s easy to work with them.

I retired and moved from California to Rolla and I was a little apprehensive about living alone. Getting a security system seemed like the right thing to do, and it's not just the house. It's me as I'm out, going around in the community because I have the medical part too. I'm a senior citizen and having a security system is like having a partner here with me all the time watching me. My experience with ADT has been great. Everybody is very polite and they have this wonderful capacity to listen and not assume that they know what you're going to say. That’s always very important in customer service. Most of the time, people just assume that they know what you're going to say and it could be totally wrong. The people from ADT are also very capable, competent and knowledgeable. They're on the spot. It's very comforting, nice and soothing having them. It's wonderful and it's really helped me.
I have a heart condition and I had three heart operations before I got ADT. If I'm feeling lightheaded, I know how to get on my hands and knees so I don’t fall down and hit my head on something. One time when I was on the toilet, I was so embarrassed to call 911 but everything worked out beautifully. I was very thankful that there was a competent person at the other end of the telephone. I have this button that I can just push and somehow, the system that’s installed in my home is able to communicate with people. I really like it. I'm very pleased with ADT's service.

Service/Installation techs were very professional and through. All instructions on the operation of the alarm system were explained to where I was able to comprehend the information well. My services were installed on 3/26/2018. The ADT techs were dressed in uniforms that were neat and clean with their ID badges visible. We had another security system but we weren't happy so I got online and looked at reviews. ADT had the best reviews so I called them. The sales rep that we originally had was out of Roanoke and he came and met with us. He was super and he came back when they did the installation. The installers were very nice and very professional. They did a fantastic job and they explained everything to us. The security, fire, carbon monoxide, burglar alarm and those little help-I've-fallen-and-can't-get-up pendants are features included in our package. So far, we've had excellent service and we're very satisfied. They're on top of things. If we messed something up with the alarm, the next thing we know is that they're calling or sending somebody out. We've recommended ADT to several people.

When we moved up from New York to Massachusetts, we went again with ADT since that was what we had for 20 years in New York. The sales representative was recommended to us by others that had used ADT and the sales rep came since we had to establish a new account. When we had the house built, we had the house wired by the builder. So, we just added a couple of devices by ADT. And when the installation team came, they did an admirable job. We have the windows, the doors, the inside siren, and keypads and so far, their service has been excellent. The alarm works and I do the monthly checkup to make sure that the system is working and it's done online. We’re very satisfied with ADT and we’ve recommended them to others in our community. I tell them our experience that between New York and Massachusetts, it has been excellent.

Whenever the alarm has been triggered (so far all accidentally) the company has contacted a neighbor to check up on me by verifying I am home and has sent responders immediately. Had I needed help they were there within minutes of alarm sounding. When I contacted ADT to inform them of my mistake they were very nice about it. I first put the ADT system in about 20 years ago and I've had a great experience with them. The customer service was good when I had a problem. I had a sensor that went bad and I had to contact them to get me a sensor replacement. It was standard shipping and it came as quick as it could and in a very good timing. Overall, we are satisfied with ADT.

After having ADT for 2 years and a few problems with the equipment (cameras turning off/faulty CO2 detector) and recent home fire that ADT equipment failed to alert us. We decided something needed to change to keep us. Spoke with a DENISE in account management to get reduced rate, although she was unable to reduce to our satisfaction. Requested the manager and was told he may or may not be available that she would need to do some paperwork for 5-10 min before checking to see if he was. And also that he would not be able to help me anyway, she had given us the lowest rate. When she returned she said he would not be able to speak with me because he could not help me anyway, now I'm mad because what kind of customer service does not allow you to speak with a higher up especially when you are going to walk away.
Denise reports that she is not part of customer service, if you are taking care of customers that is customer service (may need some retraining I'm not sure). Mind you I could hear the manager in the background as he told her to get rid of me. I asked for his name and she refused to give it to me. Denise in not so many words basically told me I was a liar as far as the fire was not reported therefore I must be making it up. There were actually two technicians that had been to our home the past few days to fix our equipment and it was hard to miss the fire. It was reported by me via the phone, but of course it wasn't in their system because their equipment was not working at the time of the fire so no alerts went to them. So that was infuriating.
This is where my sweet husband took over. Thank goodness because I was at my wits end with Denise and getting nowhere. My husband was able to speak with managers from 2 separate departments and get our issue resolved as well as a reduced rate. We are feeling a little more appreciated, but the verdict is out on trial as to whether we stick with ADT or not. Hopefully no more hiccups in the future!

They have serious issues from not being able to apply good security in your home, to having a false sales pitch, and they bill you more than they say they will. I had a previous company that I was not satisfied with and then the opportunity came to make contact with ADT. I decided to have them come take a look and see if they were the kind of company I wanted to do business with and they were. The people who have come out to take a look were very, very nice. They also came on time and did what they said they’re going to do. I’ve had only good experiences with them.
The installation took half a day since I have a 3,800 square foot home but when various components we wanted to be done were working fine. Everything in my house is wired to the point where I have a dual system. If one floor goes out, it goes to the battery. And if there’s a complete power outage, it switches to battery. ADT is a good organization that does a good job. The fact that I recommended them to a friend of ours is indicative of what I think of them.

I’ve had ADT for at least 15 years now. The service does what it needs to do. Their customer service people have been good and when the alarm goes off, the calls to me go fast. But I’ve been looking to upgrade my whole system to wireless. Go with ADT if you really need a good security system.

It's unfortunate the hoops I had to jump through to get attention, but the experience ended well. I am on track to being a very satisfied customer again. The appointment was scheduled at my earliest convenience to have the appropriate components replaced to ensure my system works correctly.

I have had ADT monitored security in my home for over 4 years. While not flawless, it has always seemed to work as intended. Thankfully, I have not had a security incident. In the last few weeks, my system has registered communication errors multiple times daily for anywhere from a few seconds to several hours. I called the ADT 800 number for service. The operator seemed more intent on trying to charge me $25 to have someone come out than about the problem.
A technician came the next day; to their credit, he was on time and professional. BUT - the first thing he asked upon arrival was if the operator I talked to had informed me of their "ongoing communication issues". No, she did not. According to this story, this has been going on for 2 years, and I should consider myself lucky that my problem only started two weeks ago. He logged my service as incomplete and was on his way. This, supposedly so I will be notified when the issue is fixed.
After he left, I began searching the internet for reports of similar problems. I do not believe if the issue had gone on for 2 years that there would not be a ton of complaints. After all, when the system is experiencing the "communication problem", I am not connected to monitoring. No one would be notified if there were an alarm incident at my property - a service for which I pay nearly $60 EVERY MONTH! Upon researching, I have not found any forum where this problem is discussed, so I am left to believe that the technician either didn't know how to fix it, or just didn't want to. He offered up this story that placated me until he was out of the door.
I have now sent trouble reports via the online customer service link every day for 3 days, I have received no response. I have 2 years left on my contract, and I do not look forward to paying $60 a month (over $1400) for a service I am not receiving to a company which doesn't care that it doesn't work properly. I have an alarm system for a reason, and I need it to work. My alternatives seem to be to pay monthly and have unreliable service, pay a very high termination fee, or hire a lawyer to litigate. None of these are good solutions. I would prefer they provide the service for which I pay.
I don't have an order number for this latest service, one was not provided in the confirmation email, nor was I given anything by the responding technician. He was in a well marked ADT truck, and the confirmation email was definitely from adt.com. Three days ago, I set up to receive email and text messages when the communication problem occurs, well more accurately when the issue resolves, since NOTHING is sent while the issue is ongoing. I have saved 48 (!!!) emails since that time.

AT&T recently made changes to their cell towers in October, 2017 which resulted in the loss of communication for many ADT customers in select areas. AT&T has made the necessary repairs in many of these regions, but ADT awaits their action in quite a few others.
With regards to your interaction with the servicing technician, we do apologize. Please rest assured this concern has not been on-going for 2 years and that we are doing everything within our power to resolve this for all of our customers still being impacted.

I like the remote access feature of my ADT service package and things are going well so far. I keep them because they are in the protective business and they don’t get involved in the home burglary and theft. They are specialists. I have been waiting 2 months for access cards! I have called no less than 15 times trying to find out where these cards are, if they have been sent, and get ANY confirmations!!! I was told the cards were shipped several times but didn't receive anything. Then finally told in fact the cards weren't shipped but wasn't given a reason. After yet another call I was told the cards were on back order. ADT couldn't however give a date as to when the cards would be available. I was told they would call with an update, which never happened. Again I call and explain to yet another rep and a manager the situation. I still wasn't given any update. Just a promise that ADT would call after they looked into the matter.
When I followed up, more than a month at this point, I was finally told the cards were back in production. They guessed they would be available for shipping in a couple of weeks. Yet again with another promise to call with an update that never came. Finally at 7 weeks I receive a phone call saying the cards would be shipped and verified all of the shipping information. They were not able to give me a tracking number however. The cards were shipped... in A RANDOM PERSON'S NAME!
When I called to see where the shipment was ADT told me I rejected the shipment. But if I wanted to contact the shipping company the package was on hold there. Again ADT could not provide me a tracking number, which obviously they had in order to tell me where the package was on hold. When I spoke with the shipping company however, they DID NOT have the package!! It had been sent back and they provided me with a tracking number.
My final call to ADT, after explaining myself again to another person, I spoke with another manager who simply said we would have to re-order and start fresh. Are you kidding me? It's been 2 months!!! I have spoken with so many different departments, reps, and managers yet NO ONE seems to have an explanation or a resolve. I find it utterly ridiculous that a company the size of ADT is so poorly lacking in both customer service and product solutions. At this point I would never recommend them to any community. I am looking into another provider to fill our needs.

The technician was very kind and professional. He explained things well for my wife & child to understand. My wife handled the bulk of everything so I am not too familiar with everything. When I called for information, I felt the operator could have given more complete information instead of passing it off for the technician to explain.

I have been with ADT for over 25 years, and they’ve done fine. There was nothing that has been incredibly awesome nor incredibly frustrating. They’ve always performed their job, and the reps have always been professional and satisfactory. The only maintenance we’ve ever had is replacing batteries, and they’ve done that without an issue. ADT is a fine company and I would recommend it. I don’t think my friends would go wrong by choosing ADT.

I saw ADT's placards throughout Ridgecrest. Also, most people seemed to be getting ADT if they're going to get a security system. There are miscellaneous companies here doing this kind of stuff but I figured ADT had more market than them and I like that idea. I had a number of systems installed in the doors and windows, motion detectors here and there and a glass breakage thing. As time went on, I needed one more. I called and within a week, the rep showed up here and he put another one in. I wasn’t charged for that so I thought that’s neat. I’d like to get cameras someday. However, when you start adding more stuff and get more service, it's understandable that it will start to cost more money. Right now, it’s a reasonable rate every month and I’m very pleased with that.
The installer that they sent out was very good. I’m really pleased as they were very workmanlike, knowledgeable and very professional. The tech did everything and he was very methodical. He went to the places and he looked at the way the rooms were set up. He wasn’t able to put a door device so he put that window breakage device. In another area, it has the regular sensor but it also has a motion detector just because of the layout. He knew what he was doing and I'm extremely pleased.
I got tangled up in trying to set the main station up when I'm trying to change the timer. I opened the instruction book right close to the main station and it was clear and easy to read. I went through all the steps and I eventually get to it. But sometimes, I set the alarm off and screw up. I’ve had a time or two when I forgot I had the alarm set. I went into the garage and set the alarm off. I got in the house and as soon as I punched in the security code to turn that thing off, I had a phone call from ADT wanting to see if everything was okay. I told them what happened and she said all right. One time when I was downtown, one of the doors to a heater compartment wasn’t latched quite right and it went off. By the time I got home which was probably about 45 minutes, the person that I have as a secondary and the police were already here.
When I have a problem, I call like when the sun got those plastic signs you put outside. They started to act a little funny then the wind blew and they turned into potato chips and they fell apart. I emailed the company and they sent me a couple plus some window stickers if I wanted. However, I wish that they'll change those signs because I’ve already gone through two of them. They have replaced them and if they want to continue doing that, that’s fine.
The system I have is wonderful, very responsive and everything is working fine. I'm perfectly happy with it. Also, one of the neat things about it is if I’m in the city right next to us, I have to pay money in order to have one of their police to come out here in case of a break-in. I didn’t know that but I went in and paid. Inside of about two months, I got a check in the mail. They gave my money back because I’m in the county. I couldn’t ask for a better system. I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

ADT should be thanking the technician who came to install my alarm package. He went over everything so fine and you knew all you had to know about your hook up. He was a fine young man. He kept trying to sell a new service to my system and was well schooled on it all.

I'm very satisfied with ADT. It’s a really good system. I am able to set the system from my telephone and if something goes wrong with it, it knows which area it's located in. I don't hear well and I'm older so their reps take the time and tell me what I need to do. Every time I talk to them, they’ve been very good.

We've had ADT for so long. Our house came with a different alarm company, then there was a shift to a second company. Then we decided to go with ADT, which was the big name in town at that time. I have a good security system. Our house came pre-wired with everything and I added extra motion detectors. I've dealt with the emergency response people of ADT. They were quick and it was good to work with them. I had to get the ADT people once out here because one of my repairmen cut one of the wires in the doorway. Luckily, there was enough wire to grab on to, so we didn’t have to take the whole door frame off. The installers were very easy to work with as well. They came out the same day within an hour of my call. One time, I went over to the ADT office to pick up some extra yard signs and everything went well. I just had to wait a few minutes while the reps went back into the shop and got the signs, and brought these out to me.

Due to family death I had to cancel a 3 year contract after 1 year. I was put on hold for over 2 hours and transferred 6 times (this happens every time I call for service). They charged me 75% of the remaining 2 years on my contract. They advertise a monthly service of $29 mo. but after installation the monthly is $53. ADT wants the entire remaining 2 year contract paid in 60 days or they will not shut off service. Please, do yourself a favor... Do not use this company.
Hello Michael. My condolences for your recent loss. Your service was contracted and installed through an authorized dealer, Defender Security. Adding additional services to the account at the time of installation would've been the reason behind a difference in the rate. In addition to this being provided in your contract, so are the terms and conditions associated with canceling early. You can still cancel before your agreement date, however you would be assessed early termination charges equal to 75% of your remaining contract balance. -Andrew

First and foremost, our installer was phenomenal. His name is Tony **. He was on time to our appointment and from the moment he walked into my door I felt confident in his work and the company. He walked me through everything he was doing and took his time. He made sure I felt comfortable with the install and product. I would 100% recommended ADT and especially our installer for their dedication to making their customers feel protected and cared about.

The home installation was botched to begin with. A tech had to come back out and reinstall faulty equipment and then said because it was faulty equipment that I could then get out of my contract early. I called to cancel my services multiple times only to be given the runaround. Finally months later I get a hold of someone who says my "window" had closed to get out of the contract early without a fee. Don't ever sign up for ADT. They will lie to you and force you into a 3 year contract of utter garbage service. The customer support team does not give a single ** about you. They will lie and give you the runaround so that you go away. AGAIN, Do Not Ever sign up with ADT. There are plenty of alternatives that do not have long term contracts. I cannot say enough about how terrible this company is or how shady they and their affiliates are. If they actually cared about the customer they would allow you to leave without a penalty.

I've had ADT for years, and I had my old box for about 12 years. I received a new box because ADT changed over, and my last experience with them was this year when they came in because my new box was not going well. The sensors fell off the wall, and I'm upset about the new situation because I have to keep calling them out to get it right. I was told that they had the new equipment, and I got that. I feel right about the motion detector and the keypad that I’ve got, and so far, the service has been going okay, but I'm still having problems with the box itself.
The sales reps have been pretty good, but when I call and we try to fix it over the phone, they say that they are going to have to send someone out. And when they do, they want to charge me $27 which think is not fair. The rep said it was the service fee, but it is ADT’s fault that my box is messing up and they have to keep coming. Nevertheless, the tech was perfect when he came out, and he was nice and he told me exactly what to do if the sensors fall off again. I believe in ADT and I like them, and I'd refer them to anybody.

I’ve had ADT for years, and the reps have been very fine and professional. I had somebody come and look at my service package and they've added some things. The receipt they gave me indicated there was no charge for the service, but they didn’t say that there was an increase in the cost. I haven’t received my first bill, so I don’t know if it has gone up or not, and it’s already 50 something. Whether or not I keep the beeping as I leave, open the door and all that, it depends on how much it costs. I can’t afford any more than what I’m paying now for ADT out of my social security and pension check. Once or twice I’ve opened the door when I had the alarm system on and they contacted me immediately. ADT is certainly well worth the money in terms of the feeling of security I have and I’m very pleased with my experience with them.

In just a few minutes after setting a false alarm the sheriff showed up. He insisted in coming in the house to verify we lived there. I assume crooks pretend to be the owners when the alarm is triggered. Nice protection.

First, the installation man, Hunter, made an appointment with me to replace the dysfunctional camera he left with me. I'm not even sure why he left it. He never showed and still hasn't contacted me a week later. I was also told I would receive most of my equipment fee and installation back on Visa gift cards. Now the main company says that isn't true. They even called Hunter and he said that I would not be getting it back. Now I must pay $340 dollars when I was assured that I would only end up paying $79. Once my 3 year contract is over, I will not be using ADT. I tried to cancel but they won't let me. What a shame. I trusted them because they are so well known but it is just a scam to get your money. Their slogan is "Feel Safe" but they are the ones that rip you off.

I've been using the service of ADT for six years. I had Brinks before and ADT bought out Brinks. The package that I purchased was an alarm system and it had some internal motion detectors and alarms on several of the doors. All my interactions with the reps have been good. Whenever there has been an alarm, I called ADT. One night, in the middle of the night, we heard some beeping and we thought it was the smoke alarm. I got up and took the battery out from the smoke alarm, but the beeping continued. I went down to the security panel and there was still beeping. So, I called ADT and told the rep that their alarm was beeping. But she said that their alarm doesn’t beep and it must be something else. I came back upstairs and my wife had found out that it was the CO2 alarm that was beeping. Our interactions with the installers have been very good, too. I've had very good satisfaction with the service of ADT.

They keep my home secure when I am away, as well as when I am at home, and it makes a difference to know that I and my designees will be alerted should any security breach be made to my home. Called to inquired about a system. Was thinking of a basic set up and asked questions, then I asked about cameras, the salesperson said, "I thought you just wanted a basic system." Told him yes but if m there is a upgrade with a camera I liked to know the details and cost. Heard a deep breath taken then I was put on hold listening to music in the background. Waited 10 minutes he did not get back on the line. I hung up and went with a different company that I am satisfied with. Wanted ADT as it looked fine in Ads. But he was looking for a quick sale and did not want to answer further questions. Lost sale for him and the company.

The salesperson talked me into the more expensive plan and said there would never be a charge if system fails and needs repaired. Hidden in the fine print there is a service call fee. A second tech who came to repair, said that is what they are told and that is what they tell everyone. After a BBB complaint the ADT representative refused to believe that his people lie and would not change the contract. Beware of the deceptive practice by ADT. The salesman also stated that I had good cell service to run the system when activated. Tech who worked on it said I had one bar and it comes and goes causing the failure notice which was not fixed and I set it off on purpose with no phone calls or no police came and now stuck in a 3 year contract now. Highly recommend looking into another provider.
Hello Mark. I apologize for your experience. The service plan you have does cover normal wear and tear with the system (excluding battery replacement) The $25 trip fee is mandatory and part of your agreement. I apologize as we would not be able to remove that.
In regards to the communication of your services, your system sends ADT an automated test signal once a month to confirm its communicating. If at any time this test signal fails, ADT will call you to advise and test with you over the phone or schedule an appointment if necessary. We’ve always had good interactions with the ADT sales team, and once the sales were made, we’ve been very satisfied. We've had two locations that we’ve worked with ADT on, and we have been with ADT for about nine years now at the house where we’ve had two systems. We have both the video monitor system with the DVR and the Pulse system for the security inside. We had problems with the camera system for a while that we had a technician come out and do things, but we worked out most of those problems.
The system gets antiquated really quickly and I have to do upgrades and replacements. As far as the security systems are concerned, we upgraded from the old keypad system to the Pulse at the house because we got a Pulse system over here, and we enjoyed it so much more than the one we had before. We do a lot of our security from afar, and it was much easier to use the Pulse system to activate on and off and also monitor. We’ve always been very happy with our ADT systems, and we have recommended ADT several times to several people. And I tell them if they have problems with people breaking in nearby or if they're having a personal problem themselves, ADT can cure them.

I have had ADT for years, I used it while moving twice. I moved last year in June 2017 and called to make a payment that was behind and wanted to set up the system in my new home. They wanted too much money upfront so I told them to cancel my account because I won't be able to afford setting up the new address. Here we are in February 2018 and I get a bill for over 1,000 saying my account was canceled and it was still monitoring my old address! So I immediately called customer service for HELP!
The woman I talked to was nice at first. I explained everything and told her I for sure canceled when I moved and knew that I would have fees for ending my contract early ($700) but that nobody canceled my account like I requested. The only option she gave me was paying the balance and if I didn't pay it then it would go to collection. Ok, so I get off the phone with her and call again to request a supervisor or someone with cancellation. I GOT THE SAME EXACT LADY! She said, "I'm telling you, we cannot help you Mrs. **!" She was rude, rude tone and refused to let me speak with anyone else!
I'm upset, crying, and all she said was, "I can ONLY put in a request for someone to call you within 24 hours" and "if you want us to work with you then you have to pay the balance before we can do so!" I refuse to pay for something I know I called to cancel. But CS didn't "notate" my account when I made the call so the lady I was speaking with didn't believe a word I was saying! She literally spoke to me in such a rude manner. Just like the person who didn't cancel my account or notate it, I bet this lady didn't put in the request for me to speak with a supervisor. But I don't want to call again and get the same rude lady again.
I have never been so upset about a service until now. Just like the customer service rep said I guess "it WILL go to collections any day now and you have to deal with it then". I will NEVER use ADT again. And I will dispute the bill sent to collections and I will make sure that other people know how terrible my experience has been and save them from the same mistake!

As a result you were billed for monitoring from July 2017 through January 2018 until the account was canceled for non-payment. During this time ADT was still monitoring your home and receiving test signals each month indicating it was communicating as well. Your sales representative, Rene **, was outstanding. He knew the product and showed us everything that was offered by your company. He explained very clearly what each item was for. When we decided what we wanted he did not pressure us to add more to our order which is very appreciated. He was on time and very polite. He was helpful after the installation when a problem arose from our former security company. I would definitely recommend ADT to friends.

We've been customers for a long time and so far, ADT has never raised our monthly payment. We’ve had a few issues over the years but they've always addressed those. Most recently, we had a technical issue and we had to have a receiver replaced. The person who came out to do that was very good. And in times when we’ve had an alarm go off, which were always technical issues, the response was very fast. The reps that we’ve spoken with have also always been wonderful and very professional. We also have the panic button from ADT so we can call them if we have a problem and talk to a human being and not be put on hold or given a recording. We've had ADT since they were Brinks many years ago and I wouldn’t look at any other company. We’ve been that happy with ADT.

This was a reinstall as I had ADT about seven years ago. I liked the old Honeywell panel better as it both announced as well as gave a message when it alarmed. I wish ADT would activate my old panel long enough so I could update it as I am using it as a aux panel out in my "man cave" in the garage as I have a hearing loss of about 50% due to my 22 years of service in the Navy. The new panel is in the center of the house and it only "beeps" and if I'm not around I don't hear it and even if I am I still have to go over to the panel and read the message. I am 84 years old and my wife is 82 so we don't move around as well as we once use too. I like everything else about the new install.

Very upset with the way I have been treated. I was never told I was signing a 3 year contract. I was told a price then we talked about my friend who had passed away and the services were held at his church (salesperson is an assistant pastor). Apparently there is a special promo box they can check for one year contracts but they don't receive any commission. I was told one year then it would be month to month. No new system was installed just a keypad. Poor service faulty sensors in the building never fixed.
Fast forward 2 years I move to a different building. I forget to cancel my service. So I call in and am told, "30 day notice you will have to pay an extra month." No problem. A little upset at this point. Then I get put on hold and am now told I signed a 3 year contact and that I have to pay 700 and something dollars. This is unreasonable. I called my salesman and no help. They have offered settlement of 250 off. This still isn't right. I made a suggestion and continuously get talked over. There way or the highway. I will never recommend ADT and will start posting on every social media site until a reasonable solution can made. I should have read what I was signing but I should also be able to trust the salesman and his word. How many other people have y'all taken advantage of??

I was told the installation was free and the monitoring would be $27.99 month with a wireless connection. The tech proceeded to install the equipment and then told me it would be $48.99 month and tried to sell me multiple upgrades. Very scam like and I did not appreciate their clear dishonesty. Now I have a 3 inch hole in my wall that I have to have repair and submit 3 estimates for them to pay for it. Totally would not recommend this company. BEWARE.

My Dad was concerned about break-ins. ADT had been canvassing the neighborhood for months. When an ADT salesman showed up at our door, Dad let him in. Dad ended up signing a 3 (5?) year contract. He thought it was month to month, or maybe a year. The system never worked. The guy who installed it, did it wrong. We kept getting messages that there was a system breach. They'd wake us up, interrupt dinner, etc, with their phone calls and announcements.
We had another service person come out after months of it not working and ADT alerts. The new guy said that the central part of the system was installed so poorly, it could short circuit and start a fire. He fixed it. Hahaha. So we started again. This time there was something wrong with the battery. The alert was the battery wasn't charged. After fighting with ADT over the system for a year, during which time the alarm system NEVER worked, my Dad called the company to cancel the contract. He was told that he was locked in for another 2 (4?) years. He tried to get out of the contract, explaining that the system never worked.
I called an attorney. He said that he needed to see a copy of the contract. My Dad was a little shaky as far as keeping records. We called ADT customer service and asked for a copy of the contract; 7 times. They wouldn't release it. We asked about the records they kept on our service calls. There were none? We finally gave up. My Dad ended up paying thousands of dollars for a system that could have burned down the house and was nothing but an aggravation.

I got a lot of window devices, door and window sensors from ADT and I’m really happy so far. One of the sensors fell off the window and we had to have it replaced. But other than that it has worked alright. There was just one installer during installation. He came out, did a fine job and explained everything well.

I recently had ADT come out and install an alarm system in my daughter's home and in another home for my granddaughter. The technician was very knowledgeable and talked me into getting the latest equipment instead of the equipment listed in the brochure I received in the mail. He explained the difference and how much more effective the latest equipment would be to peace of mind for my daughter and my granddaughter. Since safety of my family is my first and foremost priority I didn't mind the extra cost. Now we can all have peace of mind.

I got a little keypad from ADT which you can press if you fall or anything. Their reps are courteous. They call and check on the system once a month to make sure it’s working. If they can't get you, they call you back. Also, when they call, there is a quick response. One time, mine went off. I didn’t fall or anything but we had something happen in the house and it unhooked that. They notified us that it was not working so we got it back.
