    The ADT system was already installed and all the technician had to do was come in and do whatever he had to do to turn it back on. He was excellent. I’m learning more about my neighborhood so I'm very happy to have the home security system. I got the extra protection and security from my system and as long as I can afford it, I’ll have it around.     ADT’s customer service was good as well as the installer. He had a lot to do so there wasn't much conversation while he was working but he asked me plenty of questions on where I wanted certain things in the house and where I felt it best would be needed and installed. He listened and put it there, and even offered some suggestions. Having a Protection 1 system for the past 10 years, the nicest thing is the upgrade in the equipment and the ease of use. The new technology is quite different than the old keypad. I've got an iPad-looking thing now that I could use and added cameras.

    I had a service call last night and everything went well. I had a couple of cameras go out so I needed to have them re-hooked back up and we did everything online. I'd recommend ADT if you were looking for a basic to mid-level security system. The cameras detect motion but it doesn't record 24/7. That's something I didn't know beforehand and might have changed my mind switching over to ADT. But overall, if a buddy has a house and he's just looking for camera coverage when someone walks in the front yard or something moves in his backyard, it’s a good deal for the price.

    Everything was great with the ADT sales rep and it was a positive experience. If I had questions or before the installer did something, he would ask. The equipment is better than what we had previously and the smart features are more responsive and a little bit better as far as the camera.     The installation was good and very quick, and the installer was very informative. The system is easy to use and I like that I can arm and disarm from my phone, as opposed to having to physically do it. There’s a camera in that touch screen so whoever disarms it, if it's not one of us, then we know who it is. The only small complaint that I have is that I've been trying to switch my card because the one that I have on file was compromised recently and it won't let me. But I still have a few days to figure that out.

    I had the same tech that I had two years ago install the ADT system so, it was good. The installation was perfect. I went with the ADT command system, which I originally had the less fancy one, to begin with. I had the 7 x 2 LCD display on the first one and this time, I went with a touchscreen that has the cameras. It’s much easier to use and has a nicer user interface. It's been great overall.

    Both the sign up and installation with ADT were good. The installer was very thorough and explained what he was doing. I like the system but not the iPad. I'm not able to view the cameras that they installed on it. I didn't get enough sensors for the windows too. So, I'm able to put the alarm, but then some windows are open and without me knowing because it doesn't have sensors. Also, when I am on the app in my phone, I had the alarm sound and I didn't know how to turn it off. So, the police came and it was bad because it wasn't an emergency. It was my daughter opening the back door and I wasn't aware how to turn it off because I didn't have access through the iPad. My phone was closer because it's a big house and I just went through the iPad. The police got there fast.

    We have ADT equipment in our house already. It was wired up from a previous owner when we purchased and we just never activated the service because we didn't think we need it. But there's been some robberies in our area, which prompted us to take advantage. My neighbor told us that she was signing up through ADT and we did the same. Lloyd, the sales rep who initially helped us, was phenomenal and he was the reason we signed up with ADT. I wasn't going to and my husband did not want to sign up with them but Lloyd's service was the differentiating factor.

    We initially had some problems with some of the services we thought would work better but somebody came out and did some updates, and they seem to have fixed some of the problems. The only thing that was supposed to work that doesn't seem to still work is the integration with the Nest cameras. It doesn't seem to be available yet but that could be my misunderstanding. We added an extra break glass and we added an extra window and an extra camera since we got our service.

    I'm not happy with the way my contract was handled by ADT. My father passed away in September and the account was under his name. I called ADT and asked them to remove my dad and I would take over the account since I was paying 40.99 for that contract. Customer service helped. A gentleman came out and he was nice. But he should have explained more and should have looked at the old contract and the circumstance. Instead, he built a new contract under my name and my rate went up 10 bucks. I was not told that. I should have kept on paying the way my original contract was. Another thing was they were charging me for the old contract. They were pulling from our funds for the new contract and they wanted to charge me a cancellation fee of 623 for the old contract because I canceled early.

    I called ADT and they said that the gentleman that was in charge of sales would call me to adjust the contract or talk about the contract. But nobody ever called. I wanted something simple. If they needed to put my mom's name on the account, I would have done that. My mom is still alive and she lives in the house. All the other utilities and things that I had to change for my dad would change and be very conscientious. ADT wasn't. I wouldn't recommend them. They were very inconsiderate and there was a lack of communication.

    My wife wanted ADT ‘cause it told her which door opened and which door wasn't when it opened. However, I’m a little upset because I wanted cameras and they wanted to charge $30 a month for those just in case anything goes wrong with it. I had cameras through another company and there was no monthly fee with that surveillance system. ADT couldn't give me a good reason why there was a monthly charge for the cameras other than a warranty. I didn't find out till after the fact that we were on a three-year contract. But I would cancel solely on the fact of that monthly charge for the cameras.

    I have ADT for my new home and they made the process easy for me. My tech was very informative and helpful. It's just that I have to call and put the old system in test mode so it doesn't set off any alarms. I was unaware that I needed to give ADT 30 days to turn the system off. I'm still getting charged for a month in a home I'm not living at. I initiated to call ADT and tell them I'm no longer there. The system will be deactivated 30 days from when I called. When you're moving and packing, that's not at the top of your mind. It's also a shame that ADT can't relocate equipment and you just leave it at your old home. When I asked to have my system transferred, it was a whole new purchase and that was not super great.

    I love how the system secures the areas that we wanted secured. We're able to be remotely away to be able to run the alarm system.     Working with ADT has been an absolute NIGHTMARE. I was a new customer as of 10/16/21, the system chirped the first night and would not arm the next day, a tech was not available until 10/25/21, same thing happened that night, system chirped and would not arm, and again on 10/29/21. I've taken work off to meet tech's at my home within a four hour timeframe, spent HOURS on the phone on hold talking to several different people to get the situation resolved. The service has not worked since we signed up for it, ADT will not release me from the "contract" even though the service has not worked, want to continue to send tech's out, completely unreasonable and disrespectful at this point to require someone take work off to meet tech's and spend so much time on the phone to get a service to work that they've already paid for. Customer service is terrible, would NOT recommend this service AT ALL.

    I liked the whole setup and services that ADT was providing. I got their system and a cool guy came out on time for the installation.     The only complaint I have is the motion sensor is not sensing enough. If I come down my steps, I can get to my front door without setting the motion sensor off. The only thing that sets it off is when I open the door. The door sensor sets off the alarm. That I’m a little worried about. I haven't called ADT yet about it. Everything else is good.

    We had ADT for six years in our last home. We just moved to a new home so we transferred service. The process was better than we thought. We bought an older home so it's quirky and it didn't have any services. I spoke with a gal when I wanted to transfer the service and she was very kind. ADT was gonna have to come in and install a new panel, a new this, and a new that. We already paid money for that to happen in our last home and I didn't want to pay for that again. I told the gal that they won't allow us to take the sensors off of the old home and move them to the new home. She said she could give me a really great deal and she offered a really cool system. She really tried to figure something out so I was happy.

    We got a little doorbell thing. I spoke with a technician over the phone and he was very nice. He said, "Here's what you need to buy. It's really easy. Look at this YouTube video. Show your husband. Maybe he can do it. Otherwise, maybe call an electrician.” He said was gonna need to update the doorbell because it would act weird. It would ring a few times by itself. If it's less than 10 watts, we would need to upgrade it to 12 or more. My husband installed the doorbell, turned the alarm on, and we went to dinner. I got the call and was warned. We thought somebody was breaking in. But nobody was. We have cameras and we could see everything. It's just weird. The doorbell rings but it acts a little possessed. At that time, it was triggered. We don't use that right now until we change out the wattage. On the whole, ADT was good.

    ADT's customer service was right on. Everybody else was kind of high pressure. The gentleman that we spoke to at ADT was more focused on trying to get us what we actually were needing, rather than trying to do a whole bunch of extra sales to make an extra buck. He tried to find what was the right kind of security for us rather than overselling something that we didn't have to have. So we liked that aspect and mentality of getting us the right kind of coverage.

    We were supposed to have somebody come back out to finish doing the cameras on the house because it was raining the day of installation. So they couldn’t get on the ladder that day. But we got that rescheduled and they’re coming back out this next week to finish up. Everything else went well. The installer did a great job. My partner was very proud of the kind of work that he did. He was very informative.

    I’ve always have had a security system but I became a little disgruntled with the service I had prior to last week. My system wasn’t working and I stayed on the phone with the young man for two hours on Monday night. He told me that someone will be sent out on Thursday. After no one came on Thursday, I called back to find out what was going on, and the lady I spoke to said that they didn't have anyone scheduled to come out. But I told her what the young man told me before. She said she couldn't get anybody out again for another week so I said I will just cancel my service and go with someone else.

    When I got ready to cancel, I had to wait on hold for an hour for somebody to answer the phone. Then they told me I had to go to another department and had to wait another 30 minutes for that department to answer. I can understand that since the pandemic, a lot of companies might not have these staff that they normally had in the past. But to have to stay on hold for an hour was ridiculous. At one point, they told me that if I left my number, someone would call me back. I did, and no one ever called me back. So, customer service is far most important for me.

    When I called to sign up with ADT, the young man told me all the things that they were waiving. When the install guy got out and he was telling me that ADT would just be financing my equipment for 700 and some odd dollars, I said that I was never told that I had to pay for the equipment. He got on the phone and called someone. I guess they went back and listened to the tape that I was never told that I have to pay for the equipment charge, so they went ahead and did that.

    I had ADT installed like almost 2 years ago. I wanted to do only 3 year contract and I told them, but somehow I ended up with 5 years that is so weird. First of all, they told me a price that was supposed to include everything. Then they started sending bills stating it is my equipment rental that I was not told to. Now I have to move to a different address and they are telling me like I have to pay 1930 dollars as early termination fee. They say they will refund it once I start my service at the new address.

    Also they told me I have to pay again for the equipment in my new address. They don't take the equipments from my old address but I have to still pay for it even after I change my address. So I have to pay for the equipments that I am not using, and I have to pay for the new equipments in my new address. Then they took off 730 dollars from my credit card as pay off amount for the equipments at my old address without even telling me. I called customer care and spoke to them for 45 mts and finally they hanged up on me. Please don't use ADT. If you are using read all the lines on their contract. They are just thieves.

    My issues are not fully solved, nor am I yet sure that they can be, but I am pleased with the prompt email response of the company. They are obviously eager to help and provided a direct email address for me. And, to reiterate what I said in my review, I am still quite satisfied with ADT as an ALARM company, which is the main thing I engage them for! My problems are with their new technology and the weakness of support for a user transitioning from their old system. But they seem to be eager to help.

    We had an ADT wired system installed during construction in our 20 yr. old home. About 2012 we upgraded to a Pulse System with 2 video cams and various sensors (but not smart lock). That home is now sold and we're in a new home after a 1 yr. interlude. Because we'd had good experiences with ADT, we decided to install it in our new home. The system we got installed was the new Command system w. Control App. That the system was going to be entirely different was never mentioned to us, though I didn't think to ask. I just assumed my new system would be just like my old one. So, after 1 month of orientation, I am VERY disappointed in the Command System as far a being user friendly and capable. My point of comparison is my previous Pulse System, which I found was VERY user friendly, flexible, capable and well adapted to remote control.

    For my first example of disappointing features, or rather LACKS, Command has NO way to bypass sensors while arming with the Control App. If you're at the panel, you can do a custom arm and bypass sensors (for my garage where work is going on for instance), but NO such flexibility exists with the Control App. The App can't even see what sensors you did bypass at the panel when the system is armed. And if you have to disarm it remotely, you can't rearm it with the bypassed sensors!

    My second disappointing example is our new Smartlock, which is a new feature for us. The installer asked us to choose a code, which he programmed in, and that's it! Left NO instructions or literature about ANYTHING to do with the Smartlock. And ADT Support website has NO information at all about the Smartlock. You'd never know they used it from there website except for the mention of "lock/unlock" ability on the website and App. The Smartlock ADT installed is a Kwikset 914, and from reading about that lock, MOST control apps provide detailed ability to set multiple passcodes and to see, on the App, which passcodes have unlocked or locked the lock. But not when you have it in an ADT system!! You CAN lock and unlock it from the website or App, but THAT'S ALL. Only 1 passcode for every user and NO record or any ability to add or delete codes either at the lock or remotely, or to manage users.

    I tried to pursue answers to these issues with ADT telephone support and basically got nowhere. When I asked about the Smartlock, the guy had to keep me on hold for 10 minutes doing research, and then he gave me the lock's model as a Kwikset 913, which ultimately proved to be wrong once I got into Kwikset's support literature, which is a WHOLE LOT BETTER THAN ADT'S!! But you can't operate any of it's Kwikset features except setting ONE passcode requiring access inside the lock itself. And you have no record of lock access except via that one passcode. I have only been with this new Command system for 1 month, but so far it's been a big disappointment to me as far as anything beyond the basics of alarm operation.

    ADT had installed the system last week and it's not doing very well. I had a security system by Brinks before, and I thought I was moving into a better system. They are duplicating the same issues I had with Brinks and maybe get even worse. Nothing is working. The sensitivity of the camera is very bad. Brinks cameras from the beginning were working. But ADT cameras are not even doing what they're supposed to do. One camera and the door camera weren't working. I expected much from them that's why I changed. It was a very bad move and I'm very disappointed so far. But we'll see what happens on Saturday as ADT has an appointment at that time. I'm waiting for them to see what they will do. I have some hope that it will be straightened.

    The last time, I had to call ADT because the alarm went on and they called me. The alarm went off. And after that, they told me to call them back and I stayed a long time on the phone waiting for them. They keep you on hold for the longest and I would love them to change that. But they’re very nice people. The system that ADT has in the house is an older model so when you press Stay and Away, they do the same thing. I don't love the system but it's okay. Having it gives me security. If somebody is moving around, the system makes a sound and then, it beeps. If you hurry up to go put the code, I'll know somebody is in the house.

    The salesperson gave me a great deal and told me that the equipment was gonna cost around $1,000. Since my windows already had sensors attached to them, I was told that I could use the same sensors and the same motion detector in there. I was convinced. He showed me what services ADT offered. But when the installers came to the house, they told me that all my window sensors needed to be replaced as well as my motion detector sensor. The total equipment went from $1,000 to almost $1,700.

    There was no explanation for the pricing. The sad part is the day after I moved in, I received all this mail saying I got $200 off my doorbell. When doing a sale, the person doing that should stick to them. I should get the same promotion because I technically was a new client. It was just I didn't open my mailbox until I installed the system. I called ADT the next day and I said I saw the invoice for my equipment and I didn't see any of the discounts that I was promised. Aside from the $200 off, they also gave me another $240 off. Those discounts disappeared.

    I asked if they could do something and the guy asked, "Should I uninstall, call the guys and remove everything?" He then transferred me to the people that can come and remove the system. He didn't even try to convince me or try to make an effort for me to stay. In the end, I got stuck with ADT since my fiancé wanted a security system.

    On the whole, the service is great and the installation was good. But whoever is doing the sale should continue until the system is in full install, so that if there is an issue with the price or the equipment, I can have somebody that I can reach out to. I was unable to reach the person who sold me everything over the phone. I had an email where it says, "Do not reply." It says Sally was the name of the salesperson. The main thing is customer service. All the companies offer the same things and it's the customer service that differentiates one company from another one. For ADT, customer service was not that helpful.

    The installation guys, on another note, were amazing. They went through with everything, stayed all day, and explained how everything works. But customer service after the sales happened was horrible. I work in the sales industry and I know how important it is to have good customer service when you have an issue with pricing. I've been trying to schedule a day to call ADT. But I read that after three business days I cannot even negotiate or ask them to remove the equipment. If I wasn't happy with the service to have all the equipment removed without paying anything, it was too late. I'm just stuck now with ADT for the next five years. I'm gonna share my bad experience unless something is done to make it better. I wouldn't suggest this system to any of my friends at this point.

    We had signed a two-year contract with ADT right before we moved out of our last house because we liked the system and we weren't planning on selling the home anytime soon. But we decided to move so we had to reconnect with ADT. I like how their prices stay the same each month and there are no real surprises there. Everyone respects the name ADT as far as home security. They see the sign out front and they wouldn't try to break in. They know the system's gonna work.

    The installer was there for three hours to install every bit of the system. He had to take out all the sensors and put the sticky tape on them. We were already at the house moving in so it wasn't an inconvenience to us. He apologized that the work took so long. It was because he needed extra help. Other than that, he was great and he showed us everything. The only thing we're trying to work on now is transferring the balance of our old contract onto this new one. I just want to make sure that we can get the cameras we want and we're still trying to find a reliable, inexpensive solution for it. We have cameras from Ackerman that we had issues with and I was wondering if ADT can replace those with ADT cameras if we decide to go with them and put them in the same place.     I haven't had any issues with ADT for the past three years, which prompted me to refer my parents to install ADT at their house. I called ADT directly to get the soonest appointment, and I informed the agent that I am an existing ADT member and am referring my parents (which I would assume would have prompted the agent to add the referral award to my account). However, I never received an email about the referral award. I asked the installer at the appointment, and he told me that I would need to speak with ADT about it.

    I called ADT and was on hold for 2 hours (despite being told there was only a 14 min wait), after explaining my issue to three separate agents and they put me back on the original hold line. After finally speaking to one agent, he told me to contact the sales representation, but I explained that I, nor my parents, had her contact information.     We purchased a new house, and we wanted to put in a security system for protection. This is a secondary home that we're renting, and we have ADT at our primary residence. We've had good service from them. We went with them and everything went smoothly with the installation. The system that was currently installed in the home was very outdated. So, they put in a new system and new sensors on the doors and windows that were current.

    When I talked to the sales persons, they were able to look at the age of the system and know that it was so old that it would need to be replaced, but they didn't communicate that to me.     The house was already wired with ADT and it was updated. I could stay with them and it would be cheaper than if I were to go with somebody else. The first time a tech came, he was by himself and he couldn't get on the ladder to reset the cameras. I thought they would have known that since the previous owner of the house was an existing customer. Also, the tech had been in the house before so I thought he would have remembered. I had to reschedule and the tech came back at a different time. That aggravated me a little bit but it wasn't really the tech's fault. That aside, I was well pleased for the most part with him. The other thing I am not happy about is the battery life on the doorbell doesn't last very long. It may be because it's an old doorbell. It’s wireless and it has to be recharged.     I changed my modem. This change made my cameras unavailable because they were tied to previous SSID. When I called about camera issue "tech support" began explaining fees to come out. It was me who mentioned the new SSID, not tech support. She didn't try pinging devices or anything, then she told me "no way to remote into my devices and make updates." After manager escalation, I was assured "we have virtual service that can remote in and change network settings, you are scheduled for Friday 3-3:30." I called at 3:55 to inquire about appointment. "We tried calling 3 times and said line was disconnected." Turns out they have my phone number wrong. NOTE: I've been a customer for 21 YEARS!

    I asked about getting to virtual service desk and was told "no, since YOU missed your appointment, we have to schedule technician to come out and it will be $25 trip charge plus $94 every half hour after that." I explained the comedy of errors, asked to have service disconnected, and was placed on an indefinite hold (Over TWO HOURS)! ADT needs to understand that consumers have a choice...ONLY recommend your enemies to this crackpot organization.

    If you can't change a modem (a not so infrequent occurrence, and not expect service disruption)...then how can you trust this system to keep your family safe?! SHAME ON ADT - they can't keep the basic promise to the people who entrust them with their very LIVES! Let's ALL wake up and walk away from this insecure - security company with woeful technical support and even WORSE customer service! SPEAK with your WALLET - maybe they'll listen! By the way, this nightmare of an experience covered a span of 3 days and I suppose I now still have to look forward to this month's BILL! Signed - 21 years of paying for NOTHING!

    The house that I bought had an existing system and signs in the yard. I applied with ADT online then I talked to someone on the phone. I had the system initiated a couple of days later. I mostly used the equipment that was there. It was nice that they were able to come out within just a couple of days. The service was fast and the installer who tested the system and set it up was great. The person I talked to on the phone was good as well as far as getting things going.

    But the ADT online chat was not very good because they got me to call and go further. They weren't very helpful.     The rep at ADT took the credit report and said that I was good for this certain amount of package and I was getting a deal. I asked the rep for the camera door, monitor, and the two cameras outside. I also asked what the cost would be as well as the door lock. I told her to have the technician bring it and I would decide when he gets here if I wanted it. I thought it was around $700 that she was saying that I would get, but when the technician came out, he said it was 9 something because I got the two cameras. I just did it because the technician was here and that was what I wanted and I needed it.

    The sales process was fairly simple and straightforward. I understood the salesperson but I was a little bit confused about the cost. I was using a payment plan of three payments over a three-month period and I assumed that it would be a little bit less than it was. But that may have been as much my fault as the salesperson, so I'm not gonna put that all on him. And I called and got that cleared up. The reps came out when they said they would. The gentleman who put the service in did a good job of trying to satisfy what I requested and everybody was cordial. The services I'm getting are fine and I didn't request any more than I needed at this point. If I need something further, it would depend on how much I can afford. So, right now, I’m doing what is simplest for me and most cost-effective.

I also like that they constantly improved the features. When we first started, they had the touchpad keypad, and it was nice. Then when we finally upgraded, we had a touchscreen keypad and I'm able to see their enhancements. In the old system, you had to put your code in every time. But now, they have a quick on feature. I like the cameras. Typically, they're very clear and they have a good range. They're easy to see during nighttime or even bad weather.     ADT's reps were good to talk to. They were really brief about the sign up process then it took them about four hours to set everything up. They explained everything to me and went into good detail which as a truck driver, I could understand. With my ADT system, everything's logged in on my phone and on my brother's wife's phone. And if we have any issues, we’ll see them on the screen. If we don't know the vehicle, we’ll see the video for it and I got the cameras set up where I can talk to them across the cameras even though I'm out over the road and there's nobody home. Later on, I'm going to have another security system put in when I get the garage built. I also told my brother about ADT and he’s talking about getting one now.

    We had trouble getting a sales rep to our house. He wanted to do everything over the phone and kept trying to reschedule our appointment four times. We live an hour away from Tucson, Arizona. He said he could just look at your house via Google and try to give us an estimate that way. That really pissed my husband off. We're in the military and we expect the very best at all times. Not everybody can give it but this dude was telling us he was prior military too. I called and wanted to speak to somebody higher up than him because I didn't want to deal with him anymore. It turned out that he's the regional manager. That was really bad.

    We just couldn't wait for him to get here, look at our house and everything that needs to be done then just get out. He needs to find a different job or he needs some coaching. We were appalled. We are consumers and we want this product in our home. I tried to go to management about this but it didn’t go any higher up than this regional manager. ADT didn't want to give me information so I was not happy about that. I kept getting transferred. I was ready to drive to the Tucson, Phoenix office because I was like, “I don't want this guy who seems like he's very complacent in life, that just doesn't care, to go into my house and try to sell me a security system when my husband’s a cop, and he's in the military.” It did not sit well with us.

    Thankfully, ADT sent some guy who came in to do the install and he was great. He went over everything and he sat down with us. He is a great employee for ADT. The system has been nice and we've enjoyed it. I have to be here by myself until February so it makes me feel safe, which is the most important thing. We had another tech come out and he was great too. He came right away and installed the thermostat. Other than the sales experience, my husband and I are very pleased and we’re glad that we went with ADT.

    I added another sensor to my window. The tech was relatively new and it took him four hours to get the install done. I wasn't pleased with that. There's a learning curve but he did have to get some help. The one thing I was concerned about was ADT Control. They're moving away from Pulse and I wasn't notified of that. So, when I go into the app store, download ADT Control, it's not accepting my ADT Pulse password. So I don't know how to get that started.

    I've had ADT before and I'm not happy about the price. But it is what it is. My wife enjoys the ability to use the remote control and that's the only reason we picked it back up. Because once we disconnected last time, we no longer could use the app.

    In terms of service, ADT is like any other service, maybe a little more expensive. The installation tech was outstanding. He was very knowledgeable, nice, and kind. He explained everything in detail. Before doing things, he would ask if that was okay and he gave us different options on how to install different things so we were sure of what to do. But with the sales part, I didn't get very happy about that 'cause everything changed all the time. First, my girlfriend was offered everything was going to be for free, all the screen and the installation. Then, it ended up being around $1,000 more expensive because the system included cameras and some of the things.

    When the techs came to install the cameras, they had to drill my whole house down to get the cameras in. So, I decided not to go with the cameras and since I let those go, the price of all the equipment was less than $500. ADT decided to charge me in three months instead of monthly for an entire contract. Also, I never got the screen for free as I was supposed to. They never comply with any of their promises. The last time I called customer support and asked about the offer that ADT made regarding the free screen and never got back from anyone. They said that they would check on it. But either they didn’t, or they just decided not to go with it. I’ll cancel the service as soon as I finish paying for the equipment.

    We use ADT for our business. We've had them for the past five years and never had any issue. So, we decided to stay with them when we moved. The installer was good. I was a little disappointed in the salesperson that I spoke with on the phone because they didn't give us any insight as to the cameras and stuff that we were hoping to have installed. They didn't let us know that it needed this much internet speed and make sure we had all that done beforehand. So, we just went with our basic internet package. They came out two days before ADT.

    So when he came out, he said that he couldn't install the cameras that we wanted because we didn't have the adequate internet speeds. I wasn't gonna turn around and pay Spectrum $100 to come out and give me a new modem and then another $50 a month just for cameras. So, it was quite the debacle when he came out here. But other than that, he was good.

    The only other issue that we had was since we were moving, I was thinking that we were just transferring service. Apparently, that was not the case. I realized after the fact that I was gonna have to call and cancel the old location's monitoring, 'cause I went in and logged everything online, and I realized there was another bill for the old address.

    I called and they had not stopped service there. They were like, "We require a 30-day notice." I said, okay. But, that would have been nice also for the representative that I spoke to when I was talking about transferring my service to say, "We need to go ahead and put in a request to cancel that service on such and such date. And then your new service will be on a different bill." So, now, whenever I get that final bill sometime mid-November, I'm gonna have to call and dispute the two months of extra charges on there.

    My experience with ADT has been horrible. I've already had ADT prior. Being a previous customer for years, they treated me as if I was a new customer, ran a credit check, told me one rate, then charged me another rate and had all these deductions coming out of my account. Just when they came to install, the installer couldn't do the entire job without help because he lacked the experience. Then they needed to install something that they didn't have. They had me go to Home Depot and purchase it so that they could install it. So, I didn't like it. But I like all the features. I haven't had a break-in. It works well. It alerts me. The only thing I have a problem with is the internet service. I feel like if someone rings the doorbell, it’s always saying troubleshoot or it’s a technical issue.

    They said the doorbell that I had didn't coincide with their system. So, I found it to be strange because the doorbell that I have is the most popular consumer product that everyone utilizes with their system. You can use it with wireless or wired. There also doesn't seem like a collaborative customer service or even installation process. There are different departments and they aren’t collaborating with one another. I also didn't appreciate the payment issue because they were taking chunks out of my account. So, it's all about money at the end of the day. I went with ADT because I wanted security. But the whole ordeal was bad.

    I had ADT in my first house back in '84. We went from ADT to Xfinity. But my wife liked ADT better that was why we went back. ADT puts sensors on more doors. When I went to Xfinity, they only did three doors to the outside. Xfinity was $15 cheaper. But ADT gives better service. I liked ADT because I've got five doors that go to the outside. They armed each one of those doors and then put the sensor upstairs. While with Xfinity, I only have my front door, one of my sliders in the door to my garage that was armed.

    However, my daughter also has ADT. But when she was asking about the upgrade of equipment, they said, "Then you'd have to pay an installation fee." To me, the old customer is just important as the new customer. When they do upgrades on your equipment, they should also talk to the old customers to say, "We just added this. Would you like to have this on your system?" Most companies don't do that. They only offer that to the new customer.

    I liked ADT because their camera system and their alarm system can't be demonstrated by anyone else. It only can be used by them, the provider themselves. I liked them because they're efficient about fixing things and helping you through. If you got an issue or a problem with them, they right on point, and they've been around for a while.

    They're very great as far as customer service helping you. Sometimes you call providers and they'll say, "Well, let me just transfer you over to this department, that department." Them, they'll try to help you immediately before they have to transfer you or send someone out. Most of the time, they get it done over the phone and help me through what I need to get done. And if I have to have a technician come out, they're pretty efficient and good with that.

    ADT is absolutely the worst company there is. They are holding a property owner hostage in a contract that they did not sign. They charged over $500 to replace a smoke detector. Talk about criminal price gouging. Funny how the system was totally fine during the inspection and not even 24 hours later it's malfunctioning to the tune of over $500. Yeah, right.

    I had the service with ADT previously when I first moved into this house and I canceled it. So, I still had all the equipment and it made more sense to turn it back on. I made some small additions but the system is what I had before with some minor upgrades. The technicians had to come out three different times and all of them were helpful. But it seemed like some of them didn't quite know exactly what they needed to do until they got here. So, there were some questions around that. ADT should address the communication from the home office to the on-site technicians. They seemed caught off-guard with some of the functions that I had been very specific with the two people in the home office. The techs both said it was no problem and that they were going to have all that stuff but didn’t.

    I had the system in my house for 10 years and I had good service. Then, it was time to update everything and I did. The installation was fine but the guy had to come back out. There was something that was wrong and I couldn't get certain things. The guy came and wrote up a report. There was something not right with the doorbell. I had two internet providers and it knocked one of them out. He came here and he plugged in some things or did something on the internet and my other internet started working.

    I don't know what went wrong with this curveball but I know that things can go wrong so it's not a problem. It's what they do with it and that's why I'm very pleased even though we had a little glitch. They were real prompt to come out and take a look at it. The only thing I was a little upset with was when the lady told me that I might have to pay for this. Other than that, I think it's going to be a good system.     ADT's monthly cost is a little excessive. I did quickly look at SimpliSafe, but I was still under contract with ADT. A lot of people just tell me. “Go with SimpliSafe. It’s cheaper.” But I've had ADT for the past 11 years and it's always worked for my family in our home so I stuck with it. There were two people who came to install my ADT system, and the installation went well. The only thing is, I noticed where they ended up putting my glass break but they didn't tell me why. Also, I'm not sure how many fire alarms were installed. They asked me where I wanted them, and I said, “Well, you tell me what you think is the best.” They were here so late, which was almost 8 o'clock at night but then they left and I didn't even think to ask them. I think they put two in. I thought there was gonna be one. Other than that, the technology's way better than what it was. We the smartphone app, and I like that we can just arm and disarm the system right from the app.

    ADT had some nice kid knock on my door as I was moving in to my first home in Arizona. He did a good job and I signed up for the service. I've been paying for ADT since 2018 but in the last two years, I never armed my system in my Arizona home because I have too many issues with it. I got monitors going off, calls and police officers at my house every day. I could never get anybody to fix the service. It's pointless and it's not worth it for me.

    I just bought a Florida home and I was gonna go with another company but the same thing happened and a guy from ADT knocks on my door. I went off on the guy and said, "I know it's not you, bud, but your system, the company you work for, they have poor customer service. So I'm not going to go with you guys." He then tells me, "Hey, listen, I'm a regional manager in this area and if you need me, you call me. I'll be here. I'm gonna make sure you don't have the same experience you have in Arizona." I signed up for the ADT black package and paid for everything in cash. I gave them a 50-bucks-a-month contract. Two weeks ago, the techs installed it. Nobody showed my wife how to use the system which to me is terrible customer service. Right away, this thing wouldn't stop beeping by the next day. I called customer service and they blew me off.

    So, I called the regional guy that I signed up with, I said, "Dude, after I had such a terrible experience in Arizona and you promised me this wouldn't happen, I get blown off again by ADT." I've had it for two weeks and I don't arm it because it just beeps like crazy and I haven't had anybody fix it. Allegedly, somebody is coming this Thursday but that doesn't help keep me up from nights when this thing isn't arming for my family. The reason why I want an alarm system is to take care of my family. And since we've got ADT, I have yet to arm that thing. Once again, I'm paying for absolutely nothing not only in Arizona but also in Florida which is pretty aggravating. Shame on me for going back with ADT.

    When the installers put the keypad on my door, it was too big. So, they had to remove my top lock which left a hole in my door. They should have at least offered something to cover that hole in the event that happens. Now, that means we have to make another purchase when I shouldn't have to. Also, ADT's techs should have gone through the app with me to help me learn how to navigate through it. Because when I added a new user to the app and I happened to go through my name, which is the master user and when I went to the panels and locks, I had set it up before to one passcode to come inside the door. Now, that passcode is not working. I thought that 'cause I set my passcode coming into the door differently from what I did on the keypad, now, it looks like that they're both showing the same thing. I'm not understanding why it's not working anymore.

    I'm an ADT customer I have been with them for a long time and pay bill on time BUT few days ago there was a burglary in my business location during late night 2:59am. The alarm started making noise when the burglar broke inside the store. And he was able to get away with tons of cash and merchandise because ADT did not contact me or the local cops. ADT called me 4 mins after the alarm started making noise but in this type of situation ADT suppose to call the customer less than 1 minute and also contact the local cops but by the time ADT called me the burglar was gone.

    I spoke to ADT customer service but they did not help me and they not trying to take the blame that it was their fault because they contacted me after 4 mins. ADT told me to contact my insurance company and make a claim but insurance company has nothing to do with ADT or the alarm system. ADT is trying to get away with the damage they have caused and want me to deal with my insurance company. I will never recommend ADT anyone because they care about making their money through customer but when customer goes through damage or loss because of ADT then ADT will tell you to contact your insurance company. ADT is a fraud company that's taking our money but not there for us when we need them.

    I work late and the technician waited for me to get there. Unfortunately, he didn't have one of the sensors I needed, but he put something in the meantime while he gets the sensor he needs. He's gonna come back and install it later. He even told me what was the device I was missing so they could install the doorbell, send me a picture link where I could find it to make finding the part easier for me so I could install it so he could come put the doorbell in. I like the apps and that's the only reason I got it. I wasn't going to put a system, but then people stole my truck and stuff and it made me feel violated and insecure.     I've been having an ADT system for our business since 2000. ADT was reasonable and everything seemed in order legally. There's only one thing that I don't like about ADT and that's commitment and early termination. I understand that we could transfer it elsewhere, but if we're only flipping one home once a year and we sell it, we've been lucky that we have been able to either sell it to the owners. The early termination is taken out of my account, and if they end up signing the new contract, I get my money back for early termination. I wish the commitment years would be fewer though.

    But I like that they call all the time and things are taken care of, how they should. We had an incident at our other business. It was good that we have that service. To top it off, the police did an excellent job. It was a really good bundle of how the process was done. It was really nice. I'm a little scared because I've heard that once they call the police, we might get a bill. I don't even know if that's true, because that was the first time. But as of right now, I haven't received anything. It's been up quite some time. But that was a really nice experience.

    A guy named Bill was the last guy who came to my house to do the work. He was very smart and he knew what he was doing. We still have some glitches and he said the problem was the system can't handle it. I said I knew that a long time ago. The house is too big. But he was very good. I would rate him very highly in front of anybody.

    Just recently, I got royally kicked in the butt and screwed by ADT. Never showing up, never being on time, canceling appointments not notifying me, sending workers to the job that weren't qualified to do it, sending people over here at 3:00 in the afternoon to do a job that's supposed to take two days' work, then turn around canceling me, say I canceled my service with ADT at my personal house. Because the guy who dispatched didn't want to get in trouble that he screwed up and he never sent anybody. It's bad. And It's frustrating that every time they try to reschedule, they give me three weeks apart every time.

    It's scheduling, they're overbooked and don't have enough installers that know how to work the Pulse system. They didn't get it from anybody else. The manager tried to cover his butt down here. I called up one morning, they were supposed to be here at 8:00 to 12:00. I called, the manager said, "No, they are supposed to be there from 12:00 to 4:00." I called back, waiting at my house at 1:00. "He's not here yet." "Oh, he called in sick." I know their guys call in sick 6:00 in the morning. I'm not stupid. I have a construction company. I run my people. But if I ran my company like ADT ran theirs, I would be bankrupt. Their service is terrible. They treated me like garbage. Especially when you call up and ask for the district manager to call me back, and I wait two days, he doesn't call, then I call again and put another call in for the district manager and he still doesn't call me back.

    The Pulse system should not be sold on a house over 2,500 square feet because it doesn't handle that many cameras. It only goes up to 10. It does not synchronize with the other WiFi in the house because it only has one transmitter and one repeater, and ADT can't put a second repeater on it. My house is 6,200 square feet. Why did they put that system in my house? And it cost me 2,400 for the system. I didn't get it for free.

    I'll make this quick. I bought my house in October 2020. It took me until now to realize how badly ADT screwed me over. They charge me $81 a month for essentially a touchscreen and 3 wireless door sensors and a doorbell... Vivint offered me wayyyyyy more for less. I want to buy out my ADT contract that is, 5 years by the way, and they informed me that it would be $2283 for the buyout. I didn't like that because the amount I owe isn't worth what I got in terms of service or product. But, I was willing to pay out of my pocket so that I didn't have to do business with ADT ever again.

    The way I got the amount for the buyout was calling. I asked "What is the TOTAL cost of my buyout?" 2 separate reps on two separate phone calls said $2283. The only reason I called 2 times, is because the first person I spoke with never sent me an emailed copy of my Contract like I asked for. Then, I call today to cancel and I am informed that the previous two reps conveniently didn't tell me that it will cost $2852 because of something they left out... I was willing to pay $2283 to cancel but not $2852. This is where it gets good... The reason I wanted to leave ADT is because they SABOTAGED MY SYSTEM.

    I have a new home with a prebuilt very expensive setup with window sensors and all. I wanted to use my house's existing setup that came with the new house build, and ADT assured me they can use the house's built setup and add the screen and doorbell camera (keep in mind I am using ADT because I had no idea who else to use). THEY SNIPPED MY WIRES TO MY WHOLE SYSTEM. My system is not usable any longer (I have pictures to prove). Then, they installed their products and put staples on my walls with exposed wires... All in all, I got ripped off.

    After getting ripped off and seeing what they did to me, I was STILL willing to pay $2283 to cancel (that is how bad I wanted away from them). Now I want to press in because of what ADT's response was to me when I brought this to their attention. They told me that they assumed I snipped my own wires in my house. Not only do they overcharge, not update notes, install crappy equipment to match the crappy install, they also accuse me of doing something like that. I WANT TO NEVER BE AFFILIATED WITH ADT AGAIN!!! They didn't have anything to say when I asked them how they thought I felt. I get the people I spoke to, this is just their jobs right? Who wants to work for a company like this. It took 2 minutes to read this, please take 10 seconds to share this and post to ADT on social media so that nobody else goes through what I have.

    One point of disappointment was the techs couldn't get my smart thermostat to work. It might have something to do with the wiring here in the home. I'm renting. It would be nice if that worked. But I like the convenience of being able to remotely arm and disarm the system, and lock and unlock doors. I see that ADT has done some upgrades to the app’s functionality since I'm at my last location, like notifications to let me know, "Hey, you just left home and you didn't arm the system." So, remind me to do that and things of that nature. I'm a fan.

    When I called up and talked to on the phone with ADT about six weeks in advance and let them know that we had a closing date on the 22nd and be moving, the person told me to leave the equipment there. But when I went to visit the house, I had a choice. I could have taken my equipment. Now, I ended up with this $11 equipment bill and I've lost my equipment. The other people called me because they started messing with the system, and it went off.

    ADT called me and asked if I kept the system alive for 30 days. I told them no as we were out of there. They asked what they would do, if call the police, or hit an emergency for the police. I told them it was up to them. No matter what they do, it will be wrong because they can't communicate with the people. The people will be upset because it's a false alarm, and ADT couldn't check, and because they didn't check if there really was something, it could be possibly a liable lawsuit. I've insured doctors' hospitals, and malpractice coverage, so I thought that was a big mistake by the company because they're open to liable and they should just confirm that the client is leaving and turn it off.

    Then before, I was paying $32 a month. Now, I'm paying $58 and I have the same amount of charges. I've been a customer since 2012, but I'm not getting credit for that. It was a jump from 32 to 58. It should have been a little more gentle. It should be something in the middle there. The only thing I did was trade two doors for one motion 'cause they were supposed to equalize out. But ADT does everything we wanted to do. I wanted an older system. My wife and I don't like the touchscreens because of reasons of privacy. Our seller was nice enough to get one of the older screens for us, the punch button ones, and I appreciated that very much. The people who came were great. But the person who gave me the ill advice of not taking my equipment with me has cost me some money.

Now I understand why my mom chose ADT.     The only problem that I had was in the beginning, ADT had another third-party company they were dealing with, that did a bunch of errors in the beginning when they were setting up my system. Then one thing that I don't like about the cameras is the whole setup. If I want it on top of a corner in my house, I have to plug it in in a plug, which will be at the bottom, that I have to run the wire all the way through the top. They have long wires and it looks ugly ‘cause I have to plug it in. But then everything's been good. It gives me peace of mind when I'm away from home that if somebody enters my house, I'm gonna know immediately, and I'll have protection.

    The tech was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and if I had a question he didn't have an answer to, he picked up the phone and called someone. However, there are a couple of things I dislike and I'm thinking about switching. Anytime I go near my kitchen, the security system makes an announcement saying that there's a glass break in the kitchen, but I'm standing right here. The other thing, too, is they still have the previous owners’ details on file, which is problematic.

    For example, I was too slow to get to the alarm and disarm it, so the police ended up coming out. They were very nice, but they said, “What's your name?” They also said, “That's not the name we have on file, though." They gave me the name they had on file and I said, “Oh, that was the previous owner.” This is weird because they just came and did an install and they've already sent me a bill.

    ADT should update names as soon as they receive the change of information. The seller, because they're the ones who were in contact, told me they had to have a screaming match with someone at ADT because they didn’t disconnect the previous cameras. They said, “Look, if we were psycho, we could be spying on this new family."

    ADT is just a very well-known brand and I wanted to work with them because they have a deeper experience. I didn't want a budget brand. However, I felt a bit misled about the costs that I would experience. I can afford it but I paid more than double of what I had expected per month. I didn't understand the equipment that I had to purchase. And I had specifically asked my first salesperson about that.

    The system works just fine. I'm happy with the features. I don't think about it very often because I shouldn't have to do that. However, there are a couple of frustrating things about it. It loses connection to Wi-Fi which happens all the time. The computer disconnects and reconnects. But it beeps loudly so that wakes me up. My wife and I wake up very early. And it sucks that we are woken up in the middle of the night by our alarm because it lost Wi-Fi. If somebody opens a door, it chimes. It's a cool feature. But since I have to keep the volume turned down so I can sleep at night, I don't get that feature. I'm an engineer, and the fact that I can't disable that Wi-Fi beeping notification, it’s a lazy programming decision.

    The other issue is it's really hard to get technical support. I have to schedule somebody to call me, and it's weird. I messed it up last time. I was supposed to call them. But I had to schedule a couple of days out in advance to get technical support. It was for that beeping issue. Other than that, I liked the guy that came and installed the system. He was very knowledgeable. He had great solutions. He helped me not to overspend, not to put in more than I needed. Also, we feel more secure. It's nice to be able to set that when we go to bed and especially when we leave the house. I have it configured to buzz my watch just if a door opens up and that's cool.

    After careful research I recently went with ADT. I told the sales guy that I needed to keep the monthly fee at $45 or less. After some negotiation he got me to $44.99. I pointed to a line item in the final quote that was an additional $2-3 more a month. The sales guy promised me that it was just an error in the computer quote system that he couldn't override and that I would be billed $44.99 a month. The first bill came and I was billed the extra amount. I called the sales guy who agreed it was an error. I didn't hear back after a few days so I called him again and he admitted they were now billing that fee - and had been doing so for the past 3 months before I was quoted a different fee. He said it was his fault but there was nothing he could do.

    This is like buying a house and then being told they are tacking on a few thousand to the final sale price after closing. Complete garbage that will cost me an extra $100 or so (IF this fee doesn't go up) over the course of the contract. I will say that the installation guy was amazing, and the equipment and app seem good so far. But going back on the pricing merits two stars for now as we are only 1 month in.

    I had ADT for 20 years in my old home. I bought this other house and just moved in so I continued with them. I like their service. There are things that they need to fix. Like the front door, I have to go ADT and Ring because their front door camera is perfect. I would like to stay 100% with ADT, but now I have to do the Ring app because everybody says the Ring app for the front door is better. I know that, because in the old house I had a lot of problems fixing the ADT. I had four technicians then it worked. ADT should work on the front door bell. A lot of customers have a problem with that. Reaching the bell, reaching this or that. Other than that, I like the fact that when my door or something, ADT calls me right away. They've been very good. Sometimes, they have a problem and give me a discount, like keeping old customers. And I told them, "I can easily go somewhere else, but there's so many."

    Account Manager are working from home and have no way to schedule a fixed appointment. Alarm is down and I am not protected. Next available time 7 days without the alarm. The only only time they will schedule a fixed appointment is if they want to sell and install your Alarm. It's like trying to get a hold of the IRS.

    I thought I was going to get another motion detector from ADT but now, I can't get ahold of anybody to talk to about it. I discussed it before with a girl named Kate then from what they told me, she quit. There was another guy named Dave but I could never get an answer. I also tried texting and I didn't get a reply to that. As for the system, the alarm has gone off several times and I was expecting a call within one minute but I didn't get it. I had to run, go get my phone, and turn it off and disarm it. Other than that, the installer who came out knew what he was doing, and showed me the ropes on how to set it up from my phone and on the panel itself.     The tech that ADT sent out to do the install was a very polite young man. He very knowledgeable and I was happy with the install. However, when I went to the sill and lifted up one of my windows, the sensors came off. So I had to call in and have a repair. Another individual came out. He was a senior tech, so he knew what was going on and why it happened. Evidently, the young man didn't put it on correctly with the correct type of glue, but he put it back on. After he left and put it back on, I went to lift my window and the sensor came off again. I was able to put it back on and I didn't have to call them. Since then, I haven't opened a window because I don't want that to happen again. But they did well and were very kind.

    Aside from that, I have two windows that are on this side of my home that have nothing on them and I would like to ask ADT, as a loyalty, to put two sensors on those two windows. They're off to the side and you can't really see them that much but they're easy for someone to use those windows to get in. And the reason why I want to ask them as a loyalty is because I have two accounts. My husband and my children are at the one location, and I'm here because of my disability. So I had to come somewhere where it's worked for me. I don't feel safe with those two windows not being sensored. I can't see them that well unless I come out to the room that they're in and look there. Other than that, I looked at the system of the place where my husband and sons go and it's a lot better than the new one they installed here. The one that I have in that home is an older system and I had them for 15 years. But what I have here works and it does what it's supposed to.

There were some price differences between what the tech brought me and what the salesperson quoted me. Also, I asked him about some discounts and he seemed a little unsure of what he was doing. The installation part was fine, but the invoice side of it, he seemed inexperienced or a little awkward about the interaction. Other than that, it's a good system so far. The cameras have good clarity and wide field of view. And I like that I can activate and deactivate from my phone.
