ADT has always been able to take care of my concerns and I'm totally satisfied with the system. I always feel very secure when I have it turned on and I would tell a family member to get ADT.

I'm very satisfied and pleased that I feel comfortable and safe with the packages that I picked. I would definitely recommend ADT to my friends and family because they have really nice features that could protect your house, like the door alarm and the cameras. They also have the fire package with the smoke alarm. It's a complete package to protect your house.

ADT's service is great. I love the service. I like how their customer service is. I'm always able to get what I need. They showed me how to do my keypad because I was very new to my keypad to do something. They showed me how to do a lot of stuff. They did above and beyond on everything to help me out knowing that I was a new person using the system. I liked how they are very concerned about their customers and I love that they don't lead me in the wrong direction, or have me on the phone waiting for hours. They always get back to me. They're fabulous.

I pay my bill every month, I have a system that works and I'm satisfied with ADT. We have the Pulse system with cameras and the ability to do things from our phone. I also had ADT upgrade keypads recently. It cost me a little more, but it is what it is.

I've been very satisfied with ADT. As soon as the alarm goes off, they immediately call us and check on our safety. They call us anytime they think we're in trouble and they've been great. Yeah, we haven't had anything like that. We couldn't ask for anything better.

I have property in two states and a fellow takes care of one of them for me. We’ve been having a little bit of trouble because when he opens the door, the alarm goes off. So, I made an appointment to have ADT give me another fob and I was impressed with the technician that came out there when I got it. I've also been super well satisfied with the service and it’s a very good product for the price.

My ADT system works perfectly well. Once I put that alarm on, I have no problem. Even when I'm away from home, I have no problem. I come home and my house is still the same. I just had to get a new box because the cell tower went from 3G to 5G. So, I had to get an upgrade.

The guy came out to fix the panel and ADT's service has been good. We also upgraded and got the key fob and the motion detector.

I like ADT services. It's really easy to use. They're always available to help if you need some help with something, and it's a reasonable price. You can set your alarm no matter where you are. The only thing is they should give everybody the door locks included in the package, and not as an extra.

It's rare that I have to call customer service but when I have to call, the customer service is great. They're always friendly. When I need them to come out, they're quick about getting out here. They're efficient. I like the touchscreen feature of the system. When I first got it, it wasn't touchscreen. It's a good price too. I'm not paying 300 bucks for monitoring. Wireless cameras would be great though. I've got one that’s drilled in and a couple that aren't.

ADT gave us a good installation deal that allowed us to afford the service. We had to have them send us one thing about a year ago because we had a false alarm. They said maybe the curtain had blown in the house while we were gone and it triggered it. But it's all good and the system has never failed us.

I have been an ADT customer for several years. Until recently I had no issues with them but that has changed. ADT has caused me to miss three days of work, spend countless hours on the phone & as of the date that I am writing this review, put my house and family at risk because of their faulty equipment. One day I just happened to notice that my ADT installed "cell phone box" was not operating. There weren't any lights or indications that the box was on which to me appeared to be strange. This purpose of this box is to send an alert to the police or fire department in case of an emergency so if it's not working your house and family could be vulnerable.
I immediately called ADT to talk to a technician. We both verified that the box was not working and that a technician would have to come out to repair it. ADT informed me that there would be a service charge (~$49) to which I replied begrudgingly, "Why should I have to pay for a defective ADT device that so critical to my security?" I also asked why I had not been notified that a critical component such as a cell phone box was not operating. The tech told me that ADT had tried to call me about it but said they only called once. I saw no voicemail or any record of such a call but still – why only one phone call about something as important as this?! I agreed to the charge and a tech was scheduled to come to my house a few days later.
I called ADT before the appointment date and inquired about buying a flood light. They gave me a price and wanted to charge me an additional $250 to have an electrician install it. I declined this offer and told them that I would install it myself. I gave them my credit card credentials & thought I purchased the flood light. As you will find out later in this review this was not the case. I was also told that the technician coming to fix my cell phone box was also going to install the flood light.
The day came that the technician was to come to my house. The appointment was set between the hours of 8am-Noon so I took off work. The ADT technician never came. I called ADT and was told that since I bought a camera, the original service appointment that I made was expunged. The ADT rep I was talking to couldn't even see the original appointment (ticket). They also told me that technical service calls and product installation were two different things and that product installation takes precedence. In my case that meant that the camera needed to be added before the technician could come out. I had to miss a day of work because ADT never told me that my original appointment had been cancelled.
Though I had been inconvenienced and had missed a day of work, I decided to add another device to my order and proceeded to give my credit card credential to buy a Google Nest doorbell camera. After having gone through all of my complaints with the rep they assured me that this time everything would be fine and that my cameras and cell phone box would be fixed in one visit. This would not be the case as you will soon discover.
On the day of my appointment two technicians arrived between the 8-12 time window. However, they only came with the doorbell camera. They knew nothing about the cell phone box or the floodlight that I had purchased. To make matters worse, they told me that the cameras that I had bought would not work with my older ADT Pulse system. Wow! Never did anyone from ADT tell me that my new cameras were incompatible though one tech did try to sell me on their new system which I declined. One of the techs on the scene sympathized with my frustration and called in to talk with a manager. The tech told me that she would try and get me a new system (not including cameras) and that she would help me make a new appointment. She also told me that everything would work out when they came back.
The day before my next appointment when everything was to be fixed, I saw a confirmation email that required me to click a button confirming the time. The appointment time was supposed to be between Noon – 4pm? However, I confirmed the appointment anyway and took another day off of work to be there just in case ADT arrived early or late. ADT never showed?! In fact, they called my wife at 4:30pm, not me, and told her that they were running late and wanted to know if they could come over around 5pm. I told my wife to decline for I had made other plans by then and didn't want them going to the house without me being there. I told my wife to tell them to schedule for the following Wednesday.
I called ADT a day or two later and spoke to several reps. Eventually I was transferred to the product/installation department because I wanted to confirm that I had purchased two very expensive cameras. I told the rep my whole story. She was not able to confirm much but was able tell me that I had purchased one doorbell camera. I told her that I had also bought a flood light camera and even gave ADT my card. After 30 minutes of this I went to my online banking accounts in search of the charges. I saw no charges from ADT whatsoever!
The rep eventually said with an apologetic tone something to the effect, "Oh Mr. ** you won't be charged for the cameras until they are installed." Pray tell why this rep didn't tell me this 30 minutes earlier? I recall telling the rep to cancel and and all pending appointments and that I no longer wished to buy ADT or Google Nest cameras. I recall had to excuse myself from this call but knew that this matter had not been resolved and that I would need to call back ADT later.
I recall it was a Monday (9/19/22) that I called the ADT general number in order to talk to someone in the scheduling department. At this point I gone in a "Full Circle". All I wanted was to have ADT come fix my cell phone box BUT there was no way I was going to pay a service fee. I had missed several days of work and had been strung along by ADT and their ineptitude scheduling & servicing inadequacies. The rep took notes and apparently deferred my case to a supervisor. The rep told that someone should be contacting me shortly. It's been a day later and nobody from ADT has reached out to my knowledge. I have been doing research online about other security companies and have learned a lot. I landed on a website that educates visitors on the best home security systems. I am likely going to chose one of these and say good riddance to ADT.

I have a very good experience with ADT. I’ve had their service for eight years and it might even be longer. I live in a corner home and we had somebody stealing stuff out of our backyard. I had installed my personal cameras that were not connected to ADT and then, possibly five years ago, we had a cold winter and it froze all the lines and the cameras died. It was out of warranty so, I decided I was gonna get ADT’s cameras. If something happens, they were responsible for replacing them. It was included in whatever I pay every month. I have three cameras on my house. When I call, I always have a very good experience. They always help me with whatever issue it is. They try to walk me through it and if I cannot do it on my own, they will send a tech out.
I’ve recommended ADT to my mother who lives in Virginia and I had that put on her doors down there. I also recommended them to a neighbor on 80th street because there were some shenanigans going on next to her. ADT’s reps have always been very pleasant, kind and helpful, no matter the issue is, even if it’s so minute that I should have been able to figure it out myself. ADT has always been there for me.

ADT's really nice feature is their glass-break technology, where you don't have to tap the windows. You put those sensors around the house and they detect glass breaking. The installation went really well. I love ADT because I can manage everything on my iPhone. From the account to monitoring the cameras to settings, I can do it all on my mobile device. It's dependable. The keypad works really nicely. It's a more complex system, but simpler to use. I had some significant savings upfront with ADT and I have cameras now. I traded an $80 a month bill for a landline and almost $40 a month for monitoring with Monitronics for $70 with ADT.

The system works. I like it. It's good and convenient. The comfort of knowing it's there. One time, I was cooking and fried up something on the stove. It got smoky and it set off the alarms. I didn't get the smoke alarms off in time and the fire department came. The respose time was very good. It was a faster than I could react to say, "No, it's not real." I'm very satisfied with ADT.

I'm satisfied with ADT. They seem to do a good job. We have no complaints, except for one little thing that happened. We have five doors that are under the alarm system, and if someone opened up one of the doors, it would say, "Front door has been opened." But the fella came in to replace a monitor and he removed those for some reason. I've asked twice to how I can get those back, and I've never got an answer. I'd like to have my sounds back when the door opens. Other than that, the system is good. I travel up into Georgia, and I can check on the house and see if it's still running or if my house is still here. My state of the security with the alarm system is really good.

Before, they used to come and service me, like they check all my alarm and if it needs a battery. But now, the last couple of times, they don't come and I'm a little disappointed. Because it always shows on my panel that triangle. It means I missed something. I called so many times. They said that they don't service. I pay every month. So why don’t I get the service like once a year for them to come and check everything? They increase every month, but the service is getting poorer.

We've had two techs here, one that did the install, then one who came back to do the replacement on one of the sensors. Both gentlemen knew what they were doing. They did it in a timely fashion, explained things to me that I could understand, and sometimes, that, in itself, is a task. Overall, they were very professional, and did their job. The equipment seems to be quality as well, and when we needed service, which we had a faulty sensor, that was taken care of in an appropriate timeframe. Customer service seems to be decent, although sometimes I can’t understand them. It’s that accent thing.
We've had some experiences where our daughter has come into the house and forgot to turn the alarm off, and I've immediately gotten a phone call. The quickness of the response was good, and all I had to do is turn the alarm off via phone. I have the app, so it was no big deal. ADT should stay competitive with the alarm world that’s out there. They got a lot of competitors that want to change me for cheaper price, but I’m a loyal customer. If they can hang in there with being reasonably priced, I will continue being their customer.

I like ADT's service. When I go out, I set up my alarm on the app on the phone and that's good. I just have a sensor on my door and a sensor for the attic so nobody will come in through the roof. When the rates went up very crazy, I called them up to cancel. But the supervisor called and talked to me. They worked out a deal with me, $23 and change monthly, and it is a great plan. But I got to stay on top of it and I hope that when it's time to renew, they keep it that way.

My service package is satisfactory, and I've not had a problem. It's reasonably priced, and the system protects the house. If someone comes in the house, I’m alerted. I would tell people to go with ADT. I don’t see why they wouldn’t want to.

My ADT system keeps going offline, and it doesn't register. My alarm keeps going off, too. Xfinity and Comcast are better than ADT. I had an incident where somebody broke into my house and ADT didn't call the police.

I wanted to upgrade and get something more modern, and the installation went well. The guy that installed the system gave me a description of what he was putting in, and I knew what type of system I was getting before I got it. It took him a little longer ‘cause he had to put in surveillance cameras. ‘Cause my old system, I didn't have surveillance cameras. I do on this one, and I like that I can look at my animals outside when I'm inside the house and check on them, my dogs and cats, and make sure they're okay. Plus, when I'm away from home, I can see my property through my telephone. Overall, ADT is a good company. They’ve been around for a long time.

ADT is the worst company when it comes to security camera equipment and customer service. I got outdoor cameras which were installed from a third party company. I have to go through another separate application to check the outdoor camera video. I also got indoor cameras which I need a different application to check the video (ADT app). All which is very inconvenient and a pain. The app for outdoor cameras takes absolutely too long to load up. Outdoor camera video freezes and pixelates almost all the time. The motion is delayed as well. ADT tried to blame my internet signal which was tested every time they sent out a technician and was working just fine.
I tried cancelling my whole ADT service in December 2021 because I was within the 6 month money back guarantee but they said there was a procedure to follow. That they had to send technicians to check the problem first. They sent about four different technicians which didn't fix anything. About 3 months pass and still nothing. I contacted customer service several times spoke to a lot of different people including all supervisors. They said it was up to the supervisor here at the local ADT office to escalate and cancel my service. I NEVER ONCE SPOKE TO THIS PERSON! UP TO PRESENT DAY STILL NOTHING! I can't fathom how this is possible and why it's so hard to contact a customer and perform a simple cancellation!
I even emailed corporate about the cancellation as directed by customer service. Every time ADT calls I can repeat what they are going to tell me before they get to it because I have talked to so many representatives and they all do the very same thing every time. They transfer me to account management, take my number put it in the notes on the account, transfer me to a supervisor, they send a message to local ADT office, they say I will get contacted in 48 to 72 hours, and then... NOTHING! I still have this stupid service and just stopped paying it. I have proof I attempted to cancel within the 6 month guarantee whenever they feel like contacting me.

We had a fire in August of last year and everything was destroyed so we had no ADT equipment that was functional. We got the equipment reinstalled and I thought everything would be going good. But we had a battery go low in one of the boxes and I called and I got people I couldn't understand because their accents were so strong. One gentleman was going to tell me how to do the box myself and replace the battery but I said I'm in my 70s. I can't climb up on a ladder and I can't do that stuff. He said he was going to transfer me to appointments.
I would call every morning and I would get put on hold for 45 minutes or they would call me back. The first two times, I took a call back, and when they called me back, they said they had to transfer me and it was another 45-minute wait. It took me almost two weeks before I was able to get someone out here. A tech came yesterday morning and there was a service charge for them to come and do anything, which they didn't have before. It was a nightmare. We had ADT for 10 years and I had never had problems like this.
Up to this point, we had had really good ADT service. When I had to call for any information on anything, I got someone I could understand and who could help me quickly and walk me through things. Also, they were very responsive and quick with the alerts. When the fire happened, we were in a no cell area for a period of time on that day so I did not get the ADT alert. They called my sister and before they called her, they called the police. When my sister got here, the police were already here and the alarms were all going off. In a matter of seconds, the fire departments were already coming. But this last experience, it took almost two weeks to get a battery replaced, I couldn't understand people, and I was constantly put to wait. That just blew me away. People have schedules and they have work commitments. They can't be waiting 45 minutes and plus for someone to come on the phone.

I’ve been with ADT for a long time. Everything's been awesome. When something goes wrong, I can call in and they hurry up and fix it over, help me get it correct. If not, they’ll send someone out and they’re always very polite. They upgraded and gave me a new key fob. They made sure everything was working. If I come in and I set something off, they make sure to ask me questions, like if I'm okay and if I can talk. They do what they are supposed to do to make sure that I'm safe.

I've been very pleased with ADT. We have a surrounding area that's quite dark and I feel good about having the system. When anything goes off and I don't get to the phone quickly enough or shut off the phone, I get a phone call to see if everything is okay. We've been very satisfied with their response and everything. My last dealing was shortly ago and the rep talked us through getting the battery put back into the kitchen detector which was on the ceiling. It was hard to get to but we did and then it was starting to come off the ceiling. The screw had lost its grip, so he sent some double-sided tape and other instructions.

Updated on 09/23/2022: Apologies for the delay. I was waiting for a Branch Manager to contact me. They finally contacted me last night. Once again, an ADT rep told me that "DON'T WORRY IF YOUR CAMS GO DOWN AND DON'T RECONNECT. IF SOMEONE BREAKS IN YOU HAVE ADT." I am so livid with the customer service provided. I have cams so I don't get victimized by a break in. They said someone would be here today between 8am and 9am. THEY ARE A NO SHOW. I am getting ready to leave this property for the winter. I am now having to have a secondary security company to come duplicate the security that ADT has been paid for but can not provide or assure that it will work. According to the 8 ADT reps that have provided me with customer service, none of the associates have trust in what the previous rep is telling me. It is such a mess. This is a 5 year contract valued at near 10,000 dollars. It's a mess.
Updated on 09/18/2022: So I posted this week about ADT poor performance this week. Still no resolution. Another call from virtual tech support who said once again that the previous rep was wrong with information provided. STILL NO CALL FROM BRANCH MANAGER. ONCE AGAIN MY CAMERA IS OFF WITH NO NOTIFICATION. THIS IS CRAZY. DON'T GO THROUGH WHAT I AM GOING THROUGH.
Original Review: Into my 5th hour of trying to resolve my 35 day old system failure. Still with every tech/customer service person the previous agent doesn't know what they are talking about. It's a mess. Now to find out my cam was never going to work properly per tech support. The wifi trend speed was too low for my camera to ever work. It never should have been put in. Now they want to charge me 2000 plus to do take the system that does not work out. Beware of ADT. Their reimbursement period is 3 days! Plus the installer told me this was a month to month contract. I guess we are going to court.

ADT works fine. The only issue I had was when we sold our one house and moved into our other house, I let them know that we were moving and that I needed to cancel from one address until we got to the other address, and they tried to charge me early termination. They tried to charge me for months that we were no longer in the other house. It was quite an issue, but we got it taken care of.

Sometimes, my ADT malfunctions if it’s offline. It's alerting me of the motion in the house but I don't have pets and no one is there. I can play it back but I'm not seeing anything. That happens a lot. It also has a delay. If I walk by the camera on the inside of the house, it’s not in real-time. My keypad is also in the center of a whole big wall. The tech claimed he couldn't put it over where I wanted it to be. I also had the glass break alarm go off a couple of times, but no one ever called. When they were setting up the alarm, too, something went off but they didn't call me, they called the guy that was installing it. Nothing went through to me. I wouldn't recommend ADT. I'm about to cancel this contract.

I have a basic package with ADT. I've had them for about 21 years, and I'm very satisfied. Every time I test my alarm, it works. When it goes off by accident, I open the door, and they notify me right away if I don't get to the alarm. They seem to be doing what they're supposed to do.

Robbed in April, Robbed again before we could even file a report. While trying to contact ADT, I set the Alarm off, cancelled within 60 seconds, but the police and fire trucks showed up while I was on the phone with ADT. ADT was to stay on the phone while the police asked their questions, but ADT hung up. I called ADT back, but they had to escalate, and have someone call me back.
I waited 3 days, I called ADT back, but Again, they had to escalate, and have someone call me back. I waited 6 days, I called ADT back, and yet Again, they had to escalate, and have someone call me back. May came And I called again, but Again, they had to escalate, and have someone call me back. This time I said, "If no one is going to call me back, please cancel my account." June came And I called again, but Again, they had to escalate, and have someone call me back.
Aug, same pattern... In Sept, they sent me an Email that my AM EX was getting charged... So I called again, and again they said they would have to escalate and have someone call me back... I said no, "I will wait." They said, "It is a 30 minute wait." I reminded them that, "I have to wait over 45 minutes every time I call, what's another 30, I will wait," after waiting, I got another customer service person and was put on hold again. I am now filing my BBB complaint, I want my money back for every month and every penny I ever spent with ADT. I want my contract cancelled, they can come get their product and we can go our separate ways.

I am unhappy with ADT because I don't have any smoke detectors that work. The ones I had worked for four years but now, they're not working. ADT changed suppliers of smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. They're having supply issues with the system I have. They want me to upgrade the system and that's not quite right.

I like that the system is connected to the local police department and it’s responsive. It's overall a good service. One of my sensors stopped working and they told me how to replace the battery. Their customer service was helpful but something's just wrong. It works but the readout stuff doesn't show up anymore on the box itself.

In December of 2021 I received a price increase from ADT on my 10 year old alarm system. I called to contest it and they agreed to keep the rate at the old price for three years. However, subsequent bills were at the new higher rate. I continued to pay quarterly at the old agreed upon rate. Finally I called and they admitted they agreed to the lower rate but said they could not honor it and I would have to pay the higher rate. When I asked for a supervisor they disconnected me. When I called to cancel my service they again hung up on me. If anyone thinks Comcast service is bad, ADT takes bad to a whole new level. Worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. Corrupt way of operating.

We've been in ADT for many years and we like their service. It's secure. Whenever we have a problem, they send a technician out to fix it and it is probably because we are senior citizens and there are things we cannot do. The techs are very nice and always very pleasant and helpful. ADT is the way to go. Right now, our ADT system is through our Spectrum telephone and the price of Spectrum keeps on going up. To have the ADT system go through our telephone is quite costly so the way it’s going now is on a cellphone.

My experience with ADT has always been positive. Their system works well. It's been installed for maybe 15 years and their response has been quick and accurate. If they don't get the first number, they call the alternate number. And when I've had service issues, which have been very few, they've been very responsive. I'm very happy with ADT.

The ADT techs came to the house and installed the equipment that I needed and gave me prices. Since then, I've talked to people at the company a couple of times here and there and they've all been quite helpful. I'm well satisfied with the features. I feel very secure and I have not had any break-ins since I've installed ADT. I appreciate having it and would recommend it.

I love ADT's service. It’s all user-friendly. It's on the app and I've never had any issues with it. So, it’s seamless. I use it every day and the interface on it is easy. There’s not a bunch of buttons you have to click through. You literally go in there, arm your system and disarm it as needed. The only issue I've ever had was with a sensor. I had to take it off and reapply it because it was too close to the threshold of the door so the sliding door would knock it off sometimes when closing. But it’s nothing. You just need to make sure the sensors are in the right spot when installed.

I was a loyal customer to ADT with 2 home and 2 business locations. Today I cancelled my last home account and the remaining ones and switched to Ring. ADT customer service has been rude, arrogant and made me feel like I was inconveniencing them. I had an issue with my doorbell cam. They charge me $63 to come out to look at it and "fix it". It never got fixed. The issue continued through the last 6 months. When I called to initially cancel they did not even offer to take that fee off immediately. NO. When I called to cancel TODAY now they offered me a new camera and to waive that fee.
I did not break the camera, it just stopped recording. I did nothing I never even touched the settings. PLUS it took them almost 2 weeks to come out. They locked me into a contract for 3 years at my new house. My office I was so upset we actually paid the 70% or whatever it was of the remaining contract to get out of this. Crooks with horrible customer service, no follow up and hands down the worst business practices I have ever seen. They will never see a penny from me again in my home or business.

USE A NEW COMPANY, THEY WILL SET YOU UP FOR FREE FOR BEING A NEW CUSTOMER. ADT told me that my move would be free and I would be given a new doorbell (since I had a ring at my old house), and my installation/equipment would be free and to leave all of my old equipment at my old house. They would install everything from my old house into my new house. In the end I got about half the protection I had and they charged me $1000. When I called to explain I was on the phone for 3 hours with 10 different people trying to get to the correct department and when I reached the right person (after saying I’d just want to cancel) it was going to cost $1100 to cancel since I was on day 7 and my “trial period” that ended day 3. Now I am locked into a contract until the end of 2025. ADVICE: get set up by a new company for free as a new customer.

My ADT system batteries were low and the system was beeping. I called ADT and waited, oh hold, for 45 minutes (with a promise of a 30 minute wait time). While waiting, I attempted to troubleshoot and follow website instructions. Very poorly written, I disabled the beeping on the 3 devices and was instructed to disconnect the power to the system. Although beeping stopped on the monitoring panel, it continued on a fire detector.
I finally got a technician that told me that he couldn't help me, and to send a technician to my home to troubleshoot and replace batteries, it would be $59.00. I asked to cancel my account. He attempted to transfer me, but then dropped the call. I called back, got an agent, said she would transfer me, and I am now on hold another 40 minutes. I had to (as a single person) get on a ladder to take my smoke detector down and take the batteries out. (The technician told me I had to go to a convenience store and get a 3Volt battery, there are 3 AAA batteries in the device). My home is now unprotected and I have been an ADT customer for 9 years. When it works, it is great, but any technical support or upgrade is a NIGHTMARE.

I'm very pleased with ADT. I'll stay with them. I like how easy it is to program, to set when I leave or go to bed. I had one experience where I needed something. I called ADT and they had somebody come and replace it. But they ended up charging me $250. Somebody else called me from ADT and I was explaining I didn't think that I should have to pay that after I have paid ADT for 23 years. The rep said, "You shouldn't have to pay for that in the future."
I also kept noticing my rates going up. I kept seeing these advertisements that say "Sign up with ADT and you can get it for $33 a month." I called in and asked why was everybody else getting these deals but I was paying a whole lot more. It isn't fair when you've been with them so long and they keep trying to get people to sign up but they forget about us that's been paying them forever. They ended up taking my bill down to that sales promotion that was going on and that's what they charge me every month. But there was one condition. I had to stay with them, at least, five more years.

1. Our alarm service had been deactivated due to "inactivity". We had not turned the alarm on since were home all the time. Hence we could not got into my ADT account and could not do anything online. Wanted to cancel the service; wait time was an hour at least each time and then would get disconnected. I like that ADT offered the Ring doorbell as part of the package, and there was no added charge. Recently, I was upgraded. Previously, it wasn't quite as user-friendly. It was a little bit clumsier. This new one is simplified and more user-friendly. With the old one, we could secure the house from both phones but after they did an upgrade, we had problems with that. But when they put this new system in and we set up our phones, it's been flawless. We're satisfied. When I call ADT to get an answer, I get no problems with the service from that standpoint.

We have defective equipment and we are still paying for it and under warranty. We have been trying for over a month to get resolved. Long phone holds and nothing done. Chat and at the end they request that you call tech support. One tech came out reboot system and said it was working and again alarm went off in middle of night.

I regretted signing up for a contract with ADT. The worst and oldest equipment, exorbitant fees, strings attached (3 years of service). I am pretty confident once most of the contracts will expire, it will be big trouble for ADT since competitors are far better. Unfortunately, I didn't do my due diligence before choosing ADT.

We had ADT up in Kentucky. We moved to Florida and moved the service down here. They just installed it today. The tech seemed very knowledgeable. He knew what he was doing. It's a newer system. He showed me everything and how to scroll through the menu. He helped me put it on my phone. ADT has been good. They've been good up in Kentucky, too. Anytime there was an issue, they responded immediately.

I've had a couple of glitches, but my customer service rep, Zach, has been great to help me figure out the problems. He was quick to respond. We couldn't hardly figure out this last problem, but he stayed on the phone with me till I tried several things to figure it out. When I text him, he always gets back to me. I'm very happy with everything, so far. I'm working on my second year with ADT. I probably won't need the system because the neighborhood is quite safe here. But depending on if I'm given a customer discount to go a third year, I will keep it. The corporate office was good to give me a discount on my first year.

Whenever something needs the technician right away and I would call ADT, they would say that I have to pay for the technician to come. But when I say that I'm paying for the service protection, they would say that was not included in what I was paying for. So eventually, they would connect me to the loyalty program reps and when I talk to them, they would waive the fee for the technician to come here. But when you call, you don't get to that department right away. You have to be connected by the customer representative. Then, the last time that a tech was here, the guy was not wearing a mask and after two weeks, I tested positive for COVID. Other than that, ADT responds to you when you have a problem and they take care of it. I have also referred some of my neighbors to them.

The representatives that I had were good. I’ve had the system for so long but this newer upgrade went down because of a problem that I had there. I had the ADT reps come in to get the camera. They had a program that I could get the doorbell camera but they couldn't hook it up because the Wi-Fi wasn't connecting from the back. I was very disappointed about that. But it wasn't their fault. Other than that, their services were very good. I'm very happy with ADT. I feel safer because if I open the door by mistake, then I get a call from ADT and I have to give them my PIN number and who I am, before they’ll call the police for me.

I had a conversation with one of ADT's reps, Fernando, going back three weeks ago, and he knew the issue I was having. I was trying to get through to ADT. I was waiting 20 minutes, and the automated system offered the chat option. I was on a chat with somebody and the chat ended really quick without the rep acknowledging my issue. With that said, I finally got through with a gentleman. I called him back and he said, “I'll take care of you.” He sent me a battery, and I was good to go. I put a nice review on the website for ADT, to let him know, "Thank you for what you did for me."
The waiting time was harsh though. It's a good thing I didn’t need somebody right away, because I have been waiting a while, unless the answering service would have been different if an alarm did go off. I just hope ADT would have been on top of it more so than me calling and waiting that long period of time that I did that one day. Other than that, I’m happy with the service. The installation was good, and I'm happy with the features of the system as well. The panel is nice, and everything is situated in the hotspots that I needed for the alarms on the doors, the sliding doors, and windows.

Absolutely the WORST company. Not only is the customer service atrocious with every phone call being on hold for hours with several transfers (We were literally on hold once for 2 hours straight having to listen to how ADT saved some person's dog), but the entire staff is incompetent. We tried to move our service to a new address and since we switched from homeowners to renting, we had to switch to Blue by ADT. The agents told us, if we did, it would waive our cancelation fees since we were 1 year into our contract. They set up our account and everything.
2 months later, we got collection agencies calling us to collect our 1,800 cancelation fees. Turns out, ADT stepped on their dealers toes, over reached their contract, and tricked us into another contract all under false pretenses. If you just signed an ADT, cancel it within 3 days!!! GET OUT.. the real buglers are ADT and their dealers. The systems are fancy with bells and whistles, but it's all worthless.

The ADT reps have been really great. Anytime I've had any problems, they've been very helpful and patient in explaining things. Recently, I was dealing with financial problems, and one rep worked with me and really lowered the payment to not lose me as a customer. Knowing that I have ADT really makes a difference. I got a camera and I use it to watch my dog when I'm not home. She sits by the door and I just check in on her.

The worst one side of home on one App and the other side on another App. I then cancelled account which was the hardest to get done then cancelled since March and still in August being billed from my account to now find out that now august 9 th my account is getting cancelled again when it should of been cancelled since March. I've had a very excellent experience with ADT. Everything I ever asked, they took care of. The system works fine. However, they put a camera on the porch and it's useless. If there’s a car out your 20 feet, you can't read anything on it. You can't recognize anybody. They’d have to be right in front of it to recognize anybody. It is a waste. Other than that, I feel secure with their system.

We've had ADT for almost 18 years. I really like it. I just upgraded the touchscreen control panel. We've had so many problems with the last cameras we had, but the cameras we got now are Google. They're the magnetic ones. They're wireless and they are super nice. We are in awe.

I love ADT. If I have a problem, they come out right away and do whatever is necessary. Any time the alarm goes off or if we have a weather problem and temporarily all the power goes off, they notify and let me know. When it comes back on, they'll also notify me and let me know the time it was back on. I had a couple of batteries go out a couple of times and they came out and changed those, and told me how to change them in the future and what to look for. The alarm system is fine, just expensive. But everything else is expensive. I'm happy with what I have.

ADT has been good to us so far. They have the best initial offer in terms of equipment but I'd probably tell others to try and find some place cheaper that doesn't raise rates every year. Also, the panel sucks and the equipment drains batteries quickly. It's a pain to unlock the app but outside of that, it works well. The agents have been excellent.

Purchased ADT home security system back in March of 2022. The cameras are already having issues especially the doorbell camera all conveniently stopped working after my warranty is up. Now they want more money just to send a tech out for repairs. I initially was told by their company that the issue was with my internet and I needed an extender. I purchased the extender for the Wifi and the cameras are still not up to par. Now after more phone calls with this company, I told them I am not paying extra money for a tech to come out and it. They proceeded to argue and remind me of the contract I signed. I told them I will be canceling my service once my contract is up. The "supervisor's" exact words were, "That is totally fine." Not only do they not stand by their products, they have horrible customer service and are money hungry. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY AND LOOK ELSEWHERE!

When I came in the door, I forgot to turn the alarm off. ADT called me and wanted to know if it was me. So far, my experience with them has been excellent. I have the camera system now, which is even better. I wanted to update to the doorbell, too, but they're upgrading where I live at. So, after a while, I should have the full service from them.

ADT put up a new control panel and showed me how to use it on the app on my phone, which I did not think I would use. Now, that's all I use. It's so easy. Their rep showed me everything I needed to know about it and was very helpful with getting the app started. I like the system particularly since I'm not there every day. The system has been good. But I had my phone switched over to another phone, and I had a hard time getting it back on there. It has a triangle and a one in it. And I can't seem to get that off my phone now when I start to turn on the system. When I switched phones, I had to call. ADT had to help me get it back on to my phone. I was on the phone for three hours, because when it comes to electronic stuff, I don't know that much. But I finally got it on there. Also, I have been calling up because I have retired and on a fixed income. They have been lowering my bill. I will have to call them again and see if they will keep lowering it for me. ADT would be a good company to get with if you could get the right price.

When I moved into my house, I had the system installed and the guy did good. The features are good too. The only thing, the doorbell camera is not as good. The installer did something about it when I got it, and it was the best it could be. Other than that, it shows the quality and stuff is good. When I leave the house, when I'm away from the house and when I'm at home, ADT alerts me if something ain’t right. It's a good system.

ADT's customer service is great. We still have the old system, and I have the app on my phone. I usually turn the system on after I leave, then I turn it off with my phone right when I get home. I like the service. We haven't had problems, except we need new signs out front. The wind took them out.

If I could put a -100 stars I would. This company seeks to make money off people not reading their contracts. I made a mistake in signing up for service when I went through a terrible divorce. Within a week I realized my mistake and I didn't need their service. I asked to cancel and discovered I only had 3 days to decide to opt out and I was now stuck for over $3000 for 3 years. No matter the reason or tears cried they only want my money and have no sympathy or offer any exceptions to their contract terms. They are thieves and heartless people. On top of that each time I tried to call and cancel I was placed on hold for an hour or so. I was bounced around from the people who cancel to the accounting people to collect the remaining amount on my contract. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT SIGN UP FOR ADT SERVICE!!!!

I've been with ADT for almost 20 years and I'm very happy with them. I got one of those fall pendants to wear because I have a bad leg and balance issues. I wear that all the time so in case I fall, I can get help. That's been excellent. I also had a water sensor put in to the basement and that was a problem because the first fellow that put it in was not properly trained. It kept going off making false alarms. That was a pain in the neck. They had to have somebody come back and reset it. After that, it got straightened out. The system works good. The only thing is the price per month keeps going up. I'm on a fixed income now so it's a little difficult trying to keep up with payments on everything.

I signed a 2 year contract on 3/25 for the security cameras. They do not offer installation and they did not offer customer support. I have contacted ADT by phone, email, left messages, tried to chat and haven't got anywhere. The batteries don't hold a charge. I couldn't access the app because when I would ask for a password reset it would send me to their site but there is nowhere to reset password. I have been 1.5 months now without security and it is **. I have to pay for a product I cannot use. I've emailed customer support on multiple occasions and I have not received any response. I've now contacted the BBB. Attorney General is next.

I've been with ADT since 2009. Their customer service has been incredible. They've been good to me. I've done two upgrades. I have cameras and the quality and resolution are good. However, it was disappointing because I was having some problems with my sensors before and they said, "We can't do anything with your sensors. Because they should never put these old ones in there. But because they did, you're stuck with them." For the first nine years I had these outdated sensors that would cause it to alarm unnecessarily. But I have all the new equipment now.

The system is good. I had a pad added in the garage on the system so it would go off if anybody attempted to go in there. I had a problem turning off the system when I got home but I got that taken care of. Now, what I do is I get out of my vehicle and turn it off from the backdoor using the remote control.

We had issues with a flood sensor. We called to make an appointment at where we were given a virtual appointment instead of a technician coming to the house. We had to reschedule another appointment. When the technician came he did not have the sensor. He called his manager and the manager said he would credit us 2 months. The manager never put it in the system. We canceled our Saturday plans for a new appointment and guess what happened? The technician was double booked and had to come on Sunday instead. So not only were we lied to but we had to cancel our weekends plans. We foolishly signed a three contract! The billing woman told me to write a letter.

I spend a lot of money on my plan with ADT… to begin, once you receive a notification that motion has been detected, you have to go into the app and see what’s going on. However, 99% of the time I click to see what’s going on, the video does not work. I then have to hurry and exit the app then come back in. By then, the person is gone and I have to wait sometimes 10 mins before I can see the saved video. By then, if a crime were to be taking place, it would be too late. Additionally, one of the products I have is the doorbell. I was told that the doorbell was hard-wired and wouldn’t need to be charged. However, my doorbell is not working and keeps notifying me of a “critically low battery”.
When I contact ADT customer support, they tell me I will have to pay $59 for a technician to look at it. Additionally, I am told that I need to charge the doorbell manually, by going to a “Walmart” or “Dollar General” and buying a micro USB cord… because they don’t provide it to the customer paying $2,200. The best they can do for me is schedule a virtual technician to help me fix the product they have supplied me. And if it’s not resolved, I’ll be left paying for a product that does not work, with a company who does not care about their customers.

ADT has been amazing. I live in Florida and I have ADT’s service at a small residence in North Carolina with my mom's home. My mom passed but I still keep the home up right and available. Someone broke into my home into the garage area about 1:00 in the morning. The ADT system went off perfectly as it should. My Ring device kept clicking and woke me up. I was able to get up, see the people actively breaking in, got still pictures bounced off to another device and called local law enforcement. I sent the pictures to local law enforcement and they arrested the people. The people were still there, loading their vehicle with the tools from my garage. I will definitely forever be an ADT advocate.

I like ADT because they call every month and check if everything is okay. Even if I'm not here, they call my daughter and wonder where we're at. Then I can call them back and let them know we're okay. I would recommend ADT in a heartbeat to anybody that needed protection because things are happening and they’re right on it. My son was fixing up one of the outlets in the kitchen. He turned the electric off and ADT called right in, saying that my phone had been interrupted.

Until one month ago, ADT was working properly. While I was on vacation, the alarm went off without reason after my husband left the house, and they called the police because my husband didn't take the call. The police came, and it was a false alarm. We've been going back and forth with them. Unfortunately, I received a citation because of non-registration of the alarm. I was never told I had to register the alarm. I paid the fine and the registration then called them to make sure that the alarm was working properly. They told me it was, but a couple of days ago, it went off again without reason.
They called me again and I was a little bit disappointed so I told them I wanted to cancel the contract because the alarm was not working properly. They asked why didn't I change the batteries. I ordered the batteries, and I'm gonna give it a last try before canceling the contract. I understand that batteries have to be changed after a few years. But again, they never told me. One time that something happened with the alarm, I called them and asked if it could have been the battery. They said, “No. That's rechargeable battery.” That was why I didn't think that it could be the battery. When I call them, they're very nice and helpful. But sometimes, they should give the customer a little bit more information. It is the first time I have an alarm and if I had it before, then I would know.

We recently got the new keypad and the app on my phone. The keypad is neat. The app is even better. The installer knew what he was doing. It didn’t take long to get it done. He came out, did what he had to do and left. Everybody at ADT has been knowledgeable and helpful with requests. I feel more at ease now.

ADT DOES NOT REMOVE THEIR OLD EQUIPMENT UNLESS YOU SIGN UP FOR THEIR SERVICES!!! I recently purchased a home with existing ADT equipment, and want it removed. ADT said it was my problem to solve. Had to pay an electrician to remove main panel! Then I tried to remove the window/door sensors and it turned into a sticky mess that has damaged my property. I called ADT again for help and had an appointment scheduled. I waited on hold for 20 minutes. At that point I realized how existing customers are treated - having to wait on hold that long is unacceptable. Then, no one showed up for the appointment. I will never do business with such this company and don't recommend it to anyone.

These polices are strictly enforced as it can cause an insurance issue with our techs who are bonded and insured. ADT has no obligation to provide service to past/ old accounts no longer in service. I have been unwillingly stuck with this system for over two years now with my only option of getting out is to pay off my contract. I have had issues with the system since the 2nd month of having it. The cameras would disconnect randomly and lose the ability to reconnect resulting in those cameras having to be replaced multiple times through the 2.5 year period. Replacement or repair of faulty equipment is at the Homeowner's expense even though you are paying nearly $70/month for a monitoring service fee of a system that sometimes works.
My most recent issue was the head unit of the system no longer receiving signals from the various contacts or other devices in the home. This resulted in my system being armed, but could not detect a door/window being opened or of anyone breaking into my house whatsoever. My cameras at one point kept losing connection, ADT said it was a weak signal to my router, even though one of the cameras was only about 10' away from my router and I get full signal on my phone over 150' away from the router when out on the sidewalk. They came and installed a wifi extender 20' from my router, only 8' below and on the opposite wall of my 2nd camera that is furthest from the router. That was $75. Reconnected the cameras only for them to stop working a few weeks later. New tech comes out, reconnects them and says that it likely due to the router I am using then suggests that I Change out my router. I do so, then the cameras will not connect again. That next service fee was $260 to reconnect the cameras.
Then there is their motion detection on outdoor cameras. With the settings set by the tech, the cameras wouldn't pick up anything unless it happened to be a bug flying across the sensor. When I went in and turned the sensitivity to max, it would pick up a car as it drove down my road, however, it would not pick up my dually pickup pulling into the driveway and taking up roughly 50% of the view area. So in total, the system is not worth buying, as it is unreliable. The price for the quality you get is ridiculous and everything falls on the homeowner to repair or replace even if it faulty equipment.

ADT changed out our panel once, and the system seems to work. If the alarm goes off, somebody shows up, and that's the important thing. We very seldom have an alarm go off, but the thing is, ADT kept going up in their price. We went with somebody cheaper, and it was the same then pretty soon, they went up on their price. They aggravated me. So, I came back to ADT, and they offered me a bunch of stuff. I said, “Okay, we’ll go back with you.” Now, their price is getting a little much.

I am in the process of moving and contacted ADT to cancel my service. They informed me that I will need to pay 75% of the balance of my contract. We won't be moving into our new residence for a couple of months but there is no way I will use ADT again. We have been a customer for ten years. I asked to speak to a supervisor twice and did not receive a call back. I would like for someone from ADT to contact me.
Hi Chris! Your current contract at the location where you are moving from, does not expire until Sept of 2023. When you terminate service early, as outlined in the Docu sign agreement you electronically signed, 75 percent of the service contract is due upon termination of service early. However, as you are moving, if services are reactivated at the new home within 24 months with a new service agreement, or the new home owner activates service with a new contract in their name within 24 months, any previous contract costs to cancel early are either removed or refunded back if paid. Hope this helps create a better understanding of the service agreement, terms and relocating procedures!

I wanted to get ADT because I needed the protection on my house. I love the service. It's good. The camera does good in the daytime. The only thing is when you get around by 8 o'clock at night, it goes out and I can't see anything until the next day when there would be daylight. With the first camera I had, I told the lady at ADT about it and techs came out and gave me a whole new camera. But this one is doing the same thing as the old one so I don't worry about it because I'll be home at night.
I changed my internet and I didn't know that I had to get everything redone. ADT came out and they saw a whole lot of stuff wrong like the wire was loose. They knew all of that stuff when they got there. The alarm system is off the chain. Everything is great. The system is easy to use and I do it off my phone. When I leave the house, I put Arm Away and it'll arm the whole house. It'll say the house was successfully armed.

It has been a non stop nightmare and they will not allow you out of your contract and are charging $8000+ for the so called "installment fee" that we pay for 5 years even though their installation was faulty and my equipment has been glitching since install. EIGHT tech appts for different things and they still won't let me out of it. I am hiring an attorney and hoping to take this to the Attorney General. Worse company I've ever dealt with.

It tells me about each window and door I have open, and it lets me know when the alarm is on and I forget about it. When I open a window, it'll go off, and all I have to do is put my secret number in there and everything works good.

I really liked the remote monitoring and the smart home features that ADT had and the fact that they would install it. I wouldn't have to mess with it. There was a technician dispatched a few months ago and he was outstanding. I was really happy with his knowledge and his ability to quickly discover what the problem was. The people I've been dealing with on the phone weren't really able to diagnose the problem. Part of that was because of me. I had misinterpreted what the issue was. It was a low battery on one of the sensors. I thought it was on the garage door. But it was on an entry door from the garage. It took the technician that was dispatched a minute or two. He said, "Here's the low battery right here. It's not where you thought it was." So he took care of it immediately.
In terms of working the system, that's fine. I have a couple of issues going on right now however with the equipment. My video doorbell, I've been trying to charge for three days. I finally sorted through all the charging equipment I had and found the one with the largest output. I have it plugged in right now. I have another video camera that is not functioning, the system can't contact it. I have a call from a technician tomorrow afternoon to help resolve that. Dealing with the system, I don't have any problems at all. It's just some of the equipment, I have problems with.
Also, when I called, it took 20 minutes sitting on the phone for someone to respond. The person that responded couldn't help. She said she couldn't log in to my system and that she would have a tech call. The first available was yesterday and because of some conflicts I had, I set it up for tomorrow afternoon at 2:00. But that response time is not very good. But I'm happy with the ADT system overall.

ADT has a good reputation. When we bought the home that we have in Georgia, it was monitored by ADT. I didn't opt to do that but when I purchased the home in North Carolina, the real estate agent referred me to ADT, and I got some free stuff by going with them. The equipment was free as well as a couple of door monitors, and the outside camera. So, we got basic stuff free.
In my vacation home in North Carolina, I usually get a call in the middle of the night that an alarm has gone off inside the house, and they would ask me if I want them to dispatch the police or not. I opted not to have cameras inside the house. I opted for alarms on the doors and windows and a motion detector. Sometimes, the motion sensor would go off either upstairs or downstairs. The first time it happened, I had them send the police. Every time it's happened, it's been upstairs. A few times, I just say, "No, there's no way that anybody could get in there. It's a mouse or something like that."
The team members with ADT have always been great. The guy who came to install everything was very courteous and identified himself when he came in. He was very professional, knew what he was doing and he was nice to work with. I liked ADT so much. My mother is in her 90s, and we have one of the ADT life monitors. We had her use that.

Went with an ADT system as our builder's local guy didn't offer the same service or prices or equipment. Had to first deal with the salesperson, who did a good job explaining the equipment, but he did not offer any upgrades to the newer Google devices. Once he did his job, he was out of the picture and never again responded fully to questions asked of him.
The tech was nice enough to come to the house twice, instead of the usual one time to install the wiring. There was an issue with the build process and the city inspector that required him to do initial setup to pass the inspection, but he couldn't set up the equipment until the second visit when we had the keys to the house (the builder would not let us set up the equipment before we had the keys). Again, he was nice about everything and at the second visit it was he who showed us the new Google devices. We upgraded to those and asked why the salesperson didn't say anything about them. The tech didn't have an answer to that. Once set up was done we thought all would work as intended.
While mowing in the backyard and once a week, the backyard camera did not send alerts to my phone or email account. I contacted ADT who sent a third guy to the house. He explained that the cameras only detect and send notices up to 16 feet away. What? So, why didn't the tech, the second guy, explain that when setting the system up. The doorway on the back of our house is beyond 16 feet so this camera becomes useless for home security. To add another camera, we were told that now the house is complete and to run wires and such would be rather expensive and difficult to do.
That is a form of misrepresentation! When talking with the second guy and explaining where we wanted cameras and why - we were not told of this 16 foot limit. The third tech, by the way, was sent to us when going through ADT. He left his name and number and said if anything came up to text him. When the camera in the backyard STOPPED WORKING we texted him. A couple of days later, we texted him again. A couple of days later, we texted him again. Only going through ADT Facebook did he respond. He said he was on vacation and the timing of our texts was such that he was away. He could have texted back and said he was on vacation and would get back with us on a certain date.
He came to the house a second time and futzed with the backyard camera to get it working again. He said that it might be a bad camera and asked us to watch it for further problems. He said if it needed replacing his recommendation was to upgrade to a Google camera that should be out by the end of July. We talked about those cameras and he was supposed to find out when they were available for us and a price. He also was to let us know if we'd get some type of credit for our current cameras, just two months old.
He never contacted us back. He was texted asking about this. Nearly a week later and we texted again. No response! Was he on vacation again? Who knows! Maybe he doesn't respond to texts, like he suggested we use to contact him. The backyard camera is still not right. There are times we are in the backyard, within 16 feet, and are not sent alerts to movement in those areas.
Our take on ADT is the communication up to the time of installation is good, but they do not fully tell customers of limitations with their equipment. Once a system is in place they seem to forget or ignore the customer. They've got their money! They get their monthly fee! They forget about customer service. We're in a development where new houses are still being built. We've had a few of the new homeowners, waiting for their houses to be finalized, stop by and ask us questions. One of the topics is our ADT system, based on the sign out front. We have not and cannot endorse ADT based on our experience and we've told future neighbors the reasons. Whether they choose ADT is their choice, but we bet they won't.
Even the builder, at the time we said we were going with ADT instead of his local guy, tried talking us out of it. He cited some reasons and we brushed it off as ADT is a national company and his guy is a one-shop business. The owner is in his 70s and how much longer would this company be around. Plus, as mentioned above, ADT offered some things this local guy didn't. Did we make a mistake going with ADT, despite hearing concerns from the builder? Yes, probably!

When I was in law enforcement, ADT was one of the better agencies as far as alarms and their response and their care. We've been with them since 1999. We've just had the basic package and that has worked really well for us for the last 23 years. It's hard to mess up an alarm service. They have been very responsive to our concerns. It was immediate. If I had to move, I would have ADT at that location as well.
When they raised our rate, we were concerned and we called them. We told them we've been with them forever and haven't gone anywhere. We haven’t had any lapses in service. As a matter of fact, we have two different locations that we have ADT at because we liked the service. They brought our rate back down and gave us the credit. We're happy again.

ADT's customer service is good. If I've ever had any question, they've answered it immediately. If there was anything I wanted to be changed, it was $25 to have someone come out. My house is full of windows but they have no screens on them so I wanted to be sure to get the windows secured. I had most of my windows done.
The system is very good and simple. All I do is punch a button to set the alarm at night. In the morning, I just put in four little digits then I’m back up again. It’s really easy. I feel very secure with ADT. I had a couple of times when the alarm came on. It was pretty loud. It scared me so bad the first time it happened that I jumped out the window. My son lives very close to me and it takes him five minutes to get from his house to mine. He was over here so quickly. We called the police because we weren't sure what was going on and ADT called me immediately to tell me that the alarm was going off. The policeman checked everything out. What had happened was one of the batteries had gone out and it was in the room that I happened to have been sitting in.

This is the absolute worst company for home security. We have never had reliable service with our cameras and have spent countless days on hold with customer service and/or having technicians attend at our home to swap out equipment. We tried without success to get out of our 3-year contract because we have held up our end of the contract in good faith but ADT has not. They have refused to upgrade or fix our system at their expense and wanted us to pay out the balance of the contract to be rid of them. The last customer service rep I spoke to insinuated that as part of their services work that I should be satisfied with that as them honoring their contract. I would never recommend ADT to anyone. We pay around $60 monthly for basic monitored system with 2 cameras that work intermittently. Buyer beware!

ADT increased monitoring cost 9.3% in June 2022 and 34.2% in July 2022. I will cancel service after 24 years and install Amazon IP auto alarm dialer for self-monitoring. There should be a law against price gouging disabled veterans!

I'm not happy at all with ADT. I got automatic withdrawal for my bill. ADT went in my account and took some money out, when they charged me for techs coming out to my home without letting me know that they were gonna come out to install a camera and that they were gonna charge me for it. They had two people to check and nobody could fix the problem. When the guy got here, he realized the camera was unclosed. But he had already installed another camera. They didn't ask me what I preferred. The next thing I know, 39.99 was coming out for my monthly bill and another $145 and some change coming out for them coming out.
That messed my account up. When you're on a fixed income, the extra $150 coming out of your account hurts your account. We're on Social Security. When I tried to call ADT to tell them about that, I couldn't get a manager on the phone and I couldn't get anywhere. I haven't even received a phone call back from their manager to explain how come they were able to just go into my account and take money out. I was very dissatisfied with that.

The experience with ADT has been going very well because whenever the alarm goes, they’ll call and say the alarm has gone off. Someone puts in the correct code and so we don't have to call the police department. The system works good. ADT sends messages about updating the system so I’m in communication with them. When my sign was broken, the reps came and put the new one for me.

I'm very happy with my service. The system is simple and I have everything I need. Also, anybody I’ve had to work with either on the phone or in person has been very pleasant. They're always here on time. If I need an emergency, they get here really fast.

Navigating ADT’s system is easy and outside of being overpriced, they’re fine. I have the system in my home because it's required since I live in a gated community. I have to do it for insurance purposes. But I use it because I have it.

I've had the services of ADT for more than 10 years and I have never had a time when I was not able to reach them immediately on the phone, if I needed anything, or had any questions or needed equipment replaced. Excellent customer service. They go beyond the call. They ask questions about things that you probably haven't ever thought of if you're calling with a problem. If you need a service call, they are able to schedule it and execute it very efficiently. The app was also a wonderful improvement because it's very nice being able to arm it and disarm it wherever you are.

ADT's customer service has always been really good. If we accidentally set the alarm off or if something sets the alarm off, they're right on it. It is monitored 24/7. So far, I've been very well pleased with them.

We've had good service. I accidentally set the alarm off every now and then. But they call us, we give the code, and that's it. Recently, they upgraded everything. Didn't cost me anything. I decided I wanted to move one of the controls in our laundry area. It was in a spot that just wasn't comfortable the way our washing machines were. Just a couple of hours, the tech was there and he moved it for me. I'm really happy with ADT.

When we moved to Texas, ADT was the first to approach me. I’ve heard of them so I went with them. I’ve been with them since 2016 and I've been very happy. I first had the Pulse system then I moved to the Control system, which I like a lot better. It has a lot more features. I have different options. I’ve been very happy with ADT's customer service too. We’ve had a few glitches here and there. But upper management stepped in and resolved those issues. I recommend ADT.

The equipment of ADT has gotten better. We've had upgrades. Now, they have the thing that you can wear. If you're in your house by yourself, you wear a little pendant if you fall. They're very good. We're very pleased. Their customer service has been wonderful.

Last time, when my service went off several times, we weren't home. We couldn't figure out what was going on. It kept going off. It was saying problems in a certain area. We couldn't figure out why the system kept going off when nobody was home, but there was no movement. The thing went off twice. The police came out twice. I was on the military base 45 minutes away. They checked to see if there was any breach of the house. There was no breach of the house. So ADT reset the alarm. Before I got back home, it went off again for the same thing. I said, okay, then they turned it off again. By the time I got back home, my neighbors said it went off again. I went into the house and I turned it off. I still didn't know what was setting it off.
When we came home, my husband went to do a check. He was trying to go through what the manual says to go through, and then do a service check for something that was going on with the system. But he had a problem with the people. He spoke to one person but that person said they were not the people to talk to. He gave him to someone else. They had him on hold for at least 30 minutes and then they still didn't help him. So we had to do it ourselves, trying to figure out why the system was going off.

I love ADT. Customer service is great and I can understand them. A couple of times we had problems with the sensors coming off or there was something with the batteries and techs immediately came in and fixed them with no problems. There was only one problem I had and this was just this last year. A service person came and I was the one that dealt with him. He treated me like a stupid woman and talked down to me. At that time, all I needed was some batteries changed. He treated me like, “Well, can't you do that yourself?” I was furious. I called ADT and told them about that. I gave them the service guy's name and told them not to ever send him to my home again because I won't let him in the door. Customer service said they would put a note in my file.

ADT has been wonderful and I was satisfied. I have it on my phone and I can punch it out on the keypad itself. It works for me. We left one day and we couldn’t remember if we’d set the alarm or not. It was a good thing that we had it on our phone and we were able to set our alarm from the airport. I haven't had that much contact with their customer service, but anytime I have, they always managed to correct that issue or help me out in any way they can. My husband called them one time. Techs came and changed our battery. ADT gives us a big peace of mind.

The way my house is, people can drive around to the back and not be seen by my neighbors. I decided that I was gonna have a security system put in. All I've ever heard about was ADT and they had a good name and good reputation so I went with them. It's been nine years. The performance of the system has been excellent. Every time I had to call in, they had the nicest people. I would not have anybody else but ADT.

ADT works. With the remote sensors connected to the windows, they're a little bit sensitive when the batteries go out. That's something we have to deal with. But, we've had a good experience with it. We've had some repairs done and those people have been good. The initial technicians, not so much. But it's been so many years ago. But, everybody's been reasonable. The equipment in our house is outdated. But it's all good and it serves our needs. We live in a rural area, so, it allows us to know when people are coming and going. The fact that we forget to set the alarm, we also can do that on our phones.
One complaint I have had over all these years is where they put the siren. I do not understand why they put the siren in this location. It's in the hallway to our kid's bedrooms. We have an old rectangle house and a ranch-style house. The kids are on one end and we're all the way on the other end. So when the siren goes off, we don't hear it. If they had moved it two walls to the center in the living room, we could have heard it. But the equipment's held up pretty well over the years. We're very happy.

Pleasantly surprised to get such a quick response from ADT because of this Consumer Affairs review. I got a next day technician to come out and check my system. Joe was very knowledgeable about my system as he checked it out before he arrived. He took the time to explain my sensors, help me with my settings and added a better security feature to help with the sensor problem on my back window. For me, I feel like I now have that added security with this system .

I was impressed by the fellow that came by to talk to us about ADT and we went with it. Upon doing my checking, I was thinking that what we were getting was standard but it was something that was going to be necessary. We got a fire alarm, a motion detector at the end of the hallway, and sensors on the front and back door and on our window in the den. Then, we got a free doorbell camera and an outside camera at the back door. I thought this is gonna be great. The other companies were offering what we got. We're paying a little bit every month for the equipment, but I'm thinking that ADT is a larger company and we're going to have better quality equipment. Unfortunately, it's not necessarily the case in some respects.
When the installer installed the doorbell camera, he knew how our original doorbell was wired and that this camera was going to need more voltage. Also, the doorbell rang constantly. We were trying to call people to ask how do we turn it off. It was constantly going in the middle of the night. We ended up having to get an electrician to put in a new adapter for the doorbell and rewire it. And because it sits so far in, we had to pay more money for something that we're really not getting used to. It's not as advertised. Also, the doorbell camera doesn't pick up anything, nor do the sensor and the driveway camera. But this one camera that we have inside our house that we got from BestBuy last year picks up sound and it's in color. Because we have that camera in our front window, we can tell that someone was coming on our porch. If I had the option now to go back to my regular doorbell and have that taken off, I would.
The outside cameras are great in the daytime but at nighttime, not so much. Then, the sensor in our large window did not go off when we opened the window. When we open the door, the alert will say, "front door" or "back door", and it should have said "window" but it didn't. The installer only set the sensor to one side so you can open the window to the outside. It's unfortunate that we're paying and we're in a contract for that. Our installer left garbage all over as well - the boxes and the equipment. We ended up cleaning up after him. I'm very disappointed with that whole process.
I've reached out to ADT but I didn't get the response that I expected. One lady talked to me for about 15 minutes and promised that she would see what she can do, especially for the electrician. She was going to check if she could get the sensor repositioned on the window. But there was nothing. I called back and nobody had any notes from the phone call. The one person that responded was the salesman. He was the one that told me about the electrician, who to call, and how to get it readjusted so it wouldn't constantly buzz. He apologized for the garbage and said that he was going to speak to a supervisor. But that's about it. We went with such a big company thinking that they've got this down and they've got the experience but unfortunately, they don't.

I liked the salesman from ADT. Everything went fine with the installation. I'm just having a little issue with the alarm going off a couple of times a window, and they told me that it was no big deal. If it happens continuously, then they'll come out and check it out but it hasn't happened. It just happened a couple of times. It went about a week and a half. There was a problem and it set off the alarm and they sent the police out one day. The other day, they sent them out but I didn't authorize that because I was in Hawaii at the time and was nowhere near my phone. Other than that, the service has been going all right.

ADT had the best offer. You get more for your money with ADT. The representative I spoke with was awesome that was why I went with them. The installation technician was a very nice and respectable guy. My doorbell kept going off and I couldn't figure out what was going on. He had a job close to me, and he came back by and fixed the problem. He said, “Ms. **, if you have any more problem with it, if it don't stay charged, just call me back. I'll come back by.” The only thing is I called ADT but nobody ever called me back. I called and left a message. The camera has been out now ever since we had the bad weather about three weeks ago.

The service with ADT needs to be improved on severely. I still don't have audio on my cameras that I spent $2,400 on. Back when I had problems, I called them and this guy came out. He said it was working properly. I told him it wasn't. He left. That's how they handle customer service. He also wanted to charge me until he went back to my salesperson who told him I'm on the maintenance program, but no one came back. So, to this day, I still don't have my cameras working properly. The cameras themselves are working, but I don't have any audio. I'm not happy with that at all.
The sales guys kind of pitch and don't give you all the information that you need. They upsell themselves. Then once you get the product, you're kind of stuck with it. I'm paying $100 a month and I'm still not happy with my service with them. I was not happy with the service when they came out, supposedly, to help my cameras work. That guy was a complete jerk to me. He was unprofessional.

When my system was installed and I had to call the tech to ask him a question about something, he was weird with me. I upgraded my internet to try to support the system just in case because I wasn’t sure if it was going to be good enough to support it. They kicked back to the old system, the old Wi-Fi connectivity, which wasn't on there, so him and the internet guy went back and forth with it. Then I tried to call him to tell him that the system was not working and he said that he told the internet guy what to do. So, that upset me.
Also, I installed my box near my front door and I wished he would have said that the placement of that was not a good idea. But he really didn't go through all that with me. Other than that, he was good when he was here and once the issue on the internet got taken care of, everything else was working. Then, one of my cameras went out and I don't like the fact that I have to pay if somebody has to come check it. But ADT mailed me a new one right away and I got it working again. Aside from that, I need to figure it out on that app thing, so I can make sure I get how to properly operate the system, but it’s been working great.

I like ADT a lot as long as people aren't unplugging the system. I have a couple of questions about the little iPad thing but other than that, the system is simple and convenient to use. It's good for my homecare client and he feels safe with it which is the most important thing. When it was installed, the first guy who came was really nice and helpful. He was pretty quick, too. We had a little complication with one of the security things when you go through the door where it would go off with the sliding doors because we have dogs and we're opening that door a lot. But a second guy came and replaced it, so it's been working fine.
At the time when they first installed the system, my boyfriend's health was not good and we were going back and forth to the hospitals. So, we didn’t really focus on the install. Then, when the second tech came to replace that sliding glass door thing, we reached out to him and he acted like he really didn't know anything about it. He never stayed long enough to show us how to properly work this whole system.

Everything went smoothly with ADT. The alarm is a little sensitive, but it's fine. I called them to come back out because they put one of the fire detectors in the wrong spot. But I didn't have them come because they wanted to charge me. I was very upset with that and the rep I talked to wasn't helpful at all. I don't feel like I should be charged for them to move it. So, I'm waiting for my contract and then I'll cancel my service.

There are other ways that are better and cheaper than ADT. They also need to get people who speak in English because I can't understand their reps sometimes. But it's a good company and they got a good product. When I open the door, it lets me know that somebody comes in the door. But I’m getting ready to change from them in the next 30 days. I found a better product where I can put cameras on my fence and certain areas. With ADT, you got to put the cameras to certain spots to monitor because they're not wireless. But you always get dead spots with cameras and these cameras from the other company, you can position them to those dead spots.

ADT technician installed the "security" units. A monitoring unit with motion detector, water, fire, and break-ins. The installed units failed in less than 1 year of service. A technician came to my home to repair the units in January 2022 and when he left my home he declared the system good to go and that I had to pay him a service charge despite the units being in place for less than one year. I paid the technician his fee. I left home and armed the system via my cell phone.
When I returned months later, the system was down. At no time did the ADT app indicate there was a system failure. After numerous phone calls to ADT which entailed longer and longer wait times. The longest wait was 20 minutes to connect. The operator hung up after telling me he was putting me on hold to research the issue. A fifth call to ADT and more wait time determined that ADT had ZERO knowledge of the system failure. The system was established on cell service, so ADT could ping the system for operational status at any time of day or night.
ADT wanted another fee for another technician to repair the system. I canceled service. Due to ADT having my credit card on file, ADT continued charging me for $53 per month which I must dispute every month. I put a stop payment option on my credit card. ADT used another merchant I.D. to get around the stop payment. The card had to be suspended, so any charges could be immediately determined. Plus, due to suspension, any charge on my card would be identified from ADT pulling another scam. I must call my credit card company every month to stop payment and dispute the new hidden merchant.
ADT is nothing more than a scam, so please please save your yourself and just burn your money. You will receive better service value from the fire burning your money. ADT provides no service, steals your sense of home safety, steals access to your credit card, and steals your money at every opportunity for scam technical "services".
To add to the annoyance, in order to submit this review, a receipt is required. However, ADT only provides receipt via docusign. In order to retrieve the document, you must click the SMS. My current phone number is not connected to that SMS, so I am NOT able to access the ADT receipt. No other option is given to access the docusign. AVOID ADT AT ALL COSTS!!!

I have had numerous problems with ADT (overbilling; false alarms; useless conversations with the CHAT function; visits from technicians who carry no repair equipment; appointments with technicians who do not show up because "they were accidently not scheduled for you today"). I just spent an entire afternoon waiting for a technician and when I called to check in was told that I wasn't on the schedule because they accidently didn't book a technician for me. They never called to say that, so I just wasted my day. I had another appointment last week and the technician showed up at the last possible minute, so another appointment wasted. There seems to be no real customer service where you can talk to someone who can actually help you.

They auto renewed my contract saying they received my permission when I have ZERO recollection of ever doing this. They could not produce proof, telling me I had to submit a subpoena with my attorney otherwise I must pay the ~$1,200. for an entire new contract. When requesting proof, they canceled my account without my permission saying I had to pay it in full. Will never do business with them again.

I was trying to reach ADT because I have to register my alarm with the police department, and I need some information from them. When I called, the person that I spoke to was unable to help me. When I purchased through them, the lady that helped me was very professional and she had a good understanding of the product. Overall, I had a wonderful experience. They were very professional and helpful. I tell all my friends about my wonderful experience with the technician. He stayed and he made sure that I understood how to work everything. He was awesome.

ADT was in the house that I've been in for 20 years. We just activated it. Overall, it works well. They're trying to do a lot of integrations with Google products. So, I'll be happier when they do more of the integration there. I'm looking forward to better, fuller integration with the products as they move along. Other than that, I like knowing that I have cameras and things watching over the house when I can't be there.

We're quite pleased with ADT. At a time when we really could have used it, our Ring doorbell had gone dead. It was not available when I was assaulted on my front porch. So that was kind of a wakeup call. We were still fairly new to the whole thing and weren’t quite paying enough attention to it. Now, we are much more diligent about that. There are still a number of things that we need to become more familiar with. Otherwise, it seems like everything works well.
The prevalence of ADTs presence in the marketplace and the decent reviews that we had read about it convinced us to go that route. Their installer was really good and very thorough. We have the ADT booklet. It's not tremendously useful. There's some language in it that doesn't make a whole lot of sense to the layperson. The biggest thing was I was able to program in an alternate user when we had to have a dog sitter overnight. It's pretty easy to do that, and everybody pretty much understands how it works.

ADT's installers took my sensors on my windows. My windows close in and out. They put the sensors at the bottom of the window pane instead of the top, and it messed it up. Other than that, it was a good experience. My plan had what I needed.

I'm a first responder and throughout the night, I leave. Before, I was worried about somebody breaking in. I feel a little bit safer leaving my family home at night with ADT. I recommend it to everybody. But, the bad thing about it is, my cameras were installed and they're not exactly where I wanted them. I was at work when it was installed.
I called ADT and they want me to pay 400 and something dollars for them to come out here and redo it. They should have somebody come out here and move it. A lady called me from somewhere, I told her the same situation and she said the same thing. I was like, "That's unfair. I'm not gonna pay after I paid so much money for them to install it." The lady also said that she'd have somebody call me but nobody has called me, not one time, about it. Also, that four-year contract is wrong. Four years is a little too long. I think it should be year-to-year. But it works well. I just thought I would be able to see it on my phone, but I can't, because of the WiFi.

ADT is a little cheaper than Vivint. And the tech was able to come out quicker. And some of the other ones, I would have had to install myself. ADT's installer didn't provide a lot of direction on what to do, but he was okay. He did a bit, but didn't go too much in detail. I like that I can set the system away from home. What I don't like about it is, with the doorbell, the sensitivity of it, it keeps recording when the trees blow.

The ADT sales guy that I had was great. The technician that I had was also great. The support afterward was kind of dicey though. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either. There was an issue with the setting on something and the support wasn’t great. I called the sales guy and told him to come to fix it or take it out, and he told me how to fix it, and I fixed it. As far as the system, it works about 98% of the time. I haven't had it go out or malfunction. When someone walks past the sensor, it’s supposed to tell you that someone’s there, and every once in a while, it doesn’t catch them but the next camera does. When I arm it, I get 50 notifications at night because a bug flew in front of it, but I’d rather it be overly sensitive than underly sensitive. So, I just put it on silent.
Overall, my sense of security has definitely improved because I get better visibility around the house and nooks and crannies for my kids. The cameras are very good. The only issue that I have with the cameras is the voice function. When you talk through it, it is not very loud at all. I wish that it had a better microphone on it.

I had two residences I was getting alarm systems in, and in both residences, ADT said that I had to pay for a locksmith when they put in the remote locks. But at neither time was a locksmith provided. Then in one of the residences, they couldn’t put in the remote lock. So I had to wait approximately four months before it was finally taken care of and a locksmith actually came out. They charged me $75 on each occasion for having a locksmith that never showed up. So I was very, very vexed with ADT. I was looking at other providers because it was a problem.
Some years back, ADT raised my rates without notifying me and they were charging my card. So we got rid of the alarm system. Then I got it again when I started caring for my dad because I wanted the remote locks and the cameras. When I gave ADT a second chance, I contacted the Better Business Bureau because they were charging me $75 for something that they knew they weren't going to provide.
I live in Port Chester, which is in Westchester and my dad’s house is in the Bronx. When they came to the Bronx, it was two installers. The guy that came to Port Chester was one of those guys. So I knew he wasn't a locksmith because both of them told me they weren't locksmiths. So I knew that I was being billed for something that I wasn't actually getting and that was a problem.
After I complained a couple of times, they told me that they gave me back the $75. But that shouldn't have happened in the first place. If you say you're going to do something, you're going to bill me, which ADT did, then I would think you would provide the staff that you said was going to be there. Also, it wouldn't take four months to facilitate it, of me calling multiple times. There were also times when they were supposed to come out and I took off from work, but no one showed up. After I called the last time to make sure a locksmith was assigned, they had a tech but no locksmith. So then, I had to call. It was an arduous, crazy journey dealing with ADT. I would not deal with ADT again.

The system works well. It's easy to use, to turn it off and on, and crack it online. I'd recommend ADT.

The installers of our ADT were very professional. The installation didn't take a long time. They taught me how to arm and disarm the system and how to utilize the Google Nest and the camera system. Everything's really good. I was very pleased. I love the features included, especially my Google Nest. I love the different things that you're able to do with it and see.
One time, I was cooking and didn't turn the fan over the stove on, so the smoke was going up and the smoke alarm went off. I like knowing that the service is working very well and the people who monitor it are really prompt when they call to see if there's an issue. It's never more than 5 seconds or 10 seconds, they're on it. Also yesterday, I had a friend over and he was going outside in the backyard. I forgot to turn the alarm off. As soon as he opened the door, about three seconds later, I got a phone call. There had also been about five times my grandkids would open the door and the alarm would go off and I'd get a phone call three seconds later. I like that that is being monitored so closely. I am very pleased with ADT.
