    We've had ADT for a long time and we recently upgraded to video cameras. Customer service has been good. I had a couple of things where I had to redo the back sliding glass doors to the patio. To do that, I had to pull down the sensors. I contacted ADT and a guy walked me through. He said, “Real simple just to do it yourself. I'll tell you the package.” It was really an easy and good conversation. He was very clear and understanding of what I needed. The benefit of ADT is just having a home security system. They provide a good service. But they need to bundle the doorbell into the system as opposed to having the Google doorbell. They're working with that and they told me that that was coming in the near future. The only thing is I can get security systems for cheaper than ADT.

    We have phone service, alarm and internet with ADT. They have not gotten my phone service straightened out yet. It's not ringing when it should ring and then again it's ringing and nobody's calling. So, it's a mess. As far as the alarm, sometimes when I go out the door or I come in, cut it off, and I come in, I can't get it to shut off right and when it needs to. Then sometimes, it'll just trip itself. So far, the system has been okay even though it's not the more and up to date one. As far as with the clarity of it and getting it set on and off, I had some issues with it. Overall, since having the system, I have a sense of security with it that I believe that I wouldn't have if I didn't have it. ADT gives real good service.

    We've had ADT for 11 years now. We recently upgraded our system to a newer system. We got the updated touchscreen control panel. We added the fire monitoring system, the fire detectors and the Google Nest doorbell. It is fairly easy to work the new upgrade cause we got that Google Nest inside the house on the kitchen counter and all we gotta do is set the alarm system and turn it off. The gentleman that came out absolutely knew what he was doing. He walked us through step by step setting everything up. Any time we had an issue with the system or a code, we would just call customer service and they’d automatically assist us. However, we had the manual for the ADT system and it didn't cover the battery. So, we had to go online to look that up.

    ADT is very reliable. Their equipment is very good. They're friendly, knowledgeable about their equipment, and their people are very good at what they do. When we have an issue or problem, we've been able to contact ADT and they've been able to answer the questions over the telephone and have us do things on the keypad that it worked well. They also needed to replace some things in the house like smoke detectors and they were right on the spot with replacing them.

    Performance-wise, they seemed right on the spot as far as when there was an issue or a problem, they were right there. And if we didn't get a chance to shut the alarm off before it went off, it worked very good as far as something I wouldn't wanna be coming into as a burglar. Sometimes, we have a sensor issue as far as the door’s not closing correctly or tightly enough. Or if something shows up on the keypad that I didn't understand, I've been able to call ADT and they could walk me through how to fix it or ignore the area that's bad until they sent somebody out to check it out. If they couldn't fix it over the phone, they have a good response time as far as sending somebody out to look at the issue and straightening it out.

    We had a few issues with wiring to our internal system that ADT's techs had to replace. They also had seven units they had to readjust. But everything got done in a pretty timely manner. Their reps were great and very thorough. So far, we have 45 units and on good days, we can cover all our own power.

    1) A few months ago, my alarm went off for about four minutes and nobody called, no policeman showed, no nothing. For ADT it was like it never happened at all. If it were a real emergency, I would be dead now. 2) The more recent problem, last week I called because my garage door sensor isn't working. Your troubleshooting department told me it was probably the magnet so you proceeded to ship me a magnet replacement kit. Upon arrival, I called the ADT troubleshooting department again and I was instructed and guided to replace the magnet. Upon replacing it, the issue wasn't fixed. I requested for a technician to come over to replace the sensor and fix the problem cause I'm tired of calling and being transferred from department to department without a solution.

    When I asked for the technician, the troubleshooting lady told me "oohhh it seems that you are supposed to be supported by a local dealer, Safe Haven. They would need to be the ones doing the sensor replacement, let me transfer the call to them". The call was transferred, then the Safe Haven representative told me, "Well, I can no longer service you free of charge because you tampered with the sensor. You will need to pay $89.99 for a new sensor and $59.99 for the visit/installation. This will need to be serviced by ADT because they instructed you to make the replacement. Let me transfer your call to ADT".

    The call was transferred back to ADT, and the guy who is now handling my call, Selvin from the tech or troubleshooting department (didn't want to tell me his last name), tells me that they cannot help and it should be Safe Haven. I explained the whole situation once again cause I didn't make the choice to replace the magnet, ADT instructed me to do so. He stands by his position that he cannot help me or send anybody. I asked for a supervisor, he said that there were no supervisors and couldn't give me a name of one. The most he could do is schedule a callback from the supervisor. I told him, ok do it. He said he scheduled it and I'm still awaiting that callback and my problem is still without a solution for a situation that ADT created.

    Most of the time, our issue has either been a camera or the doorbell alarm didn't work. ADT came out and they were very helpful. We had a company one time that went to get a bottle of water out in the garage and it put the alarm off. ADT was very quick to call and react. So, it feels good that they're right on the ball.     After a 20 plus year relationship, in mid November of 2022, our main pad became frozen with an error code. I called ADT customer service and was transferred to technical support. I spent over two hours attempting to troubleshoot the issue to no avail. Tech support made an appointment for a tech visit which they did not show up for. The next day I learned that the visit was intended to be another phone session? Over the next two weeks I could not get any one in customer service, sales department, service department or online to speak to me. By the end of November (still without protection) I decided to contract with another company. After being unable to speak to someone at ADT to cancel, I had to cancel credit card auto billing. Two and a half months later (Jan 2023) ADT is continuing to bill us (now for the third month) and threatening that the billing will continue. We have not had any service from ADT since mid November when their panel froze.

    OUR ​UPDATE​. Within 12 hours of me posting the above complaint, I received a text from ADT collections. So the ADT collections department are still actively pursuing me. Another complaint I have is the "debt due" changed overnight. Yesterday I was told it was over $137. The notice I received this morning said over $117. So now I have an additional complaint that the collections department has no idea what they are doing.

    Update Jan 31, 2023. ADT responded with an email on Jan 27. The call list within their email shows only two calls. My phone log shows I contacted them 6 times between Nov 16 and Nov 21. I attempted to work with their customer service and service tech to resolve the error making my system unusable. My attempts to contact ADT numerous times to cancel resulted in being put on hold for a excessive wait times before hanging up in frustration. One example is November 21 for three calls, all fruitless. I spoke with three separate individuals requesting cancellation. I gave ADT until Nov 28 before researching other companies. The author of the email is the fourth person I have told I wish to cancel. ADT continues to bill me.

    The application process was a little pain. It was because when I first started, I had a guy that didn't know what he was doing. He was just a guy that sells the stuff. Then another guy came in and did the installation. He fixed everything up for me. The package that I got took a little negotiating, but I was pretty satisfied with it. I didn't get everything I wanted, but I got most of it. When the alarm went off and we didn't quite get there fast enough, we got a call from ADT and they were real nice about it.     The tech who did the installation was very helpful and quite a gentleman. A matter of fact, he came twice for the initial set up and when there was a battery that he had to replace. I also replaced the small batteries a couple of times. When the system wasn't getting a signal, ADT's reps would call me. Then recently, there was a problem with not getting a signal from the home system and about a week and a half ago, a technician came. Everything was well scheduled and he did a minor adjustment. He also taught me how to do things on the system and now, if that code ever pops up again, I know what to do. ADT's reps are very friendly and try and instruct you as much as they can. I like to deal with a person and not so much just the computer, and they've been very good with that. They have good bedside manners, too.

    I'm 71 years old and I've never lived anywhere where I've ever had to have any kind of an alarm system. I didn't know how it worked or how any of it went. ADT seemed to be the most knowledgeable and the most friendly to explain those to me so I chose them. I was very pleased and grateful for how they took the time to explain and to make sure I understood. They didn't try to sell me anything that I didn't need.

    Clint was my sales rep and installer. He was a lovely young man. He was very patient and he explained and showed me every piece and what it did and why it did it. He was very pleasant and very knowledgeable. He went around my home and told me, "These windows don't need it because they're on the second floor. And if they can reach them, they can have it." I also have a sunroom that has windows all the way around it and he said, "We're not gonna put an alarm on each one of those windows. That's ridiculous. We'll put a glass breakage alarm in there." If any glass in that room broke, then it would set off the system. It was very smart. He was very good about spending my money wisely. I got his card.

    Something else that ADT did is the next day, I opened up the door without remembering that I had it set. The alarm went off and it scared the bejesus out of me that I couldn't remember my number to turn it off. It was very loud. ADT called and asked if I was okay. I said, "I'm fine. I just don't know how to shut this off. I don't remember my number." And it was written right there. The representative said very calmly, "Look on your screen, go down to the bottom, and you see that little square around there?" I said, "Yes." And she said, "Touch that." And I did, and she said, "There's the keypad. Now, remember your number and put it in there." I did and it shut off the alarm. That representative was so pleasant that she just calmed me down enough that I could remember my number. ADT is wonderful. Call them.

    I signed up originally with a security company called Ackerman and ever since ADT bought them, it's been terrible so I would like to get rid of it. I tried to call Ackerman and they said I had to call ADT. Nobody ever told me that I wasn't with Ackerman. I tried to call ADT and I went through about 12 different people and I never talked to anybody live. Finally, I got a little live person and they said they could not help me. I've had a very poor experience so far.

    I don't like the program and my system sucks. I tried to tell ADT that the thing is not working and they won't let me talk to anybody that will help me. All they wanna do is sell more stuff. I'm not into buying and I'm into getting it fixed. My system was beeping like crazy and telling me to change the battery. I've been changing the $26 batteries about four times a year. It's an outdated system. Last time, I had a person here to look at it and he said that this system is gone. We can't even get parts for it so he is gonna get us a new system. But we never got a new one. I'll just quit sending ADT money and let them come after me. I'm very disappointed.

    My biggest complaint today is for 3 months now it has said my Nest aware subscription is expired. It is included with my cameras. I have spent hours and hours on customer service just to be transferred over and over again. They charged me a $250 electrician fee, the electrician has not come out was canceled after 60 days and that charge was not removed. Their payment system debited my account $350 but it was sent to my flexi pay not my messed up bill. Finally I said fine I will just pay again. They just debited my ach $327 twice on the same day! Now I have a very very large credit. I am sooo mad!

    My cameras are just sitting places with wires hanging everywhere. They charged me an extra $50 to put the control center on my counter. Instead of just installing how they should. The tech couldn't figure out how.to make my google home work correctly so told me to call google lol. Had me sign and left. Customer service is 0. I have a contract with the wrong items on it. I signed and they didn't get me a new contract. This is problematic as they needed to have me sign the correct contract when my products changed and they just didn't bother! At this point I am disgusted and frustrated. My system has never been correctly working.

    ADT installed alarm system in our house and we have been paying them for nearly 5 years now, and they did not inform us about Alarm permit needed to call cops. Yesterday our Alarm got triggered and I was not at home, could not reach my spouse, so had the ADT call the cops, but cops refuse to come due to us not having permit. I would think being experts in Alarm system they should at least inform the customer about the necessity of having an Alarm permit, before providing services. Paying them for 5 years, and they fail to tell a customer when they first install.

    Overseas, 3rd party customer service to resolve issues. Multiple calls that led to no resolution. More than 18 days to wait for an order to ship for sensor battery replacements. Sensor batteries are now dead with no shipment of batteries confirmed. ADT monitoring system does not function properly as a result and my home security is compromised. Will be reconsidering my future with ADT.

    My rating is only 3 stars because it is ridiculous that anyone should have to go to these lengths to get a tech on-site to resolve an issue with the equipment that the customer could not possibly repair on their own. I would rate the on-site techs as 5-stars+, and the customer service as 1 star minus.

    Let me say at the beginning, this is a ridiculous situation, but here we are. We purchased our first ADT system in 1991. We had been very happy with the service, so in 2020 decided to add indoor and outdoor cameras. We purchased 3 indoor cameras, 2 outdoor cameras and a doorbell camera, a new keypad and everything it took to complete the system. We also pay monthly for their "Quality Service Plan." Yesterday, we could not get the smoke detector to turn off the "TAMPER ALERT" after changing the batteries. We followed the on-line instructions. No Luck.

    We called in for technical support, we followed their instructions to remove the batteries for 2 minutes, then replace them and reassemble the smoke detector and reboot the system. We had already done this twice before calling in. We did it again. No Luck. We scheduled a "virtual appointment" for 2 hours later. No call. We called customer service again. This time they scheduled an on-site tech for later that afternoon. When he did not show up, we called customer service again.

    We were told that ADT could not reach us for the virtual service call or to reschedule the afternoon appointment because our phones blocked their call. We were told that they had attempted to call both telephone numbers shown on the account. One of our phones only has 2 numbers in its blocked caller list, and we know ADT is not one of them. I asked for the phone number they had called from, so that I could check the blocked callers list on the other phone in case we had accidentally blocked their number. The agent said she couldn't give me a specific number that they called from because they have several numbers. So she is saying we have ALL their numbers blocked, even though we don't know what they are? There is no record of any calls from ADT on either phone's activity list, and no evidence that they did, in fact call.

    The agent says the only thing she can do is schedule ANOTHER appointment. I asked to speak to someone who could actually do something to resolve this issue. She refused and said the ONLY thing she would do is schedule another appointment. We had stayed home all day waiting for ADT assistance that never happened, so the idea that we would just keep scheduling appointments is unacceptable, but, according to her, that is our only alternative. I have been told that doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different result, is the definition of insanity, although dealing with ADT can make you feel like that is not far off. It is never easy to get a tech onsite, even when what they need to do is REPLACE equipment, as we have learned over the past 3 years. Effectively, it is ADT's position that we have no other recourse. (Remember, we are paying for maintenance service.)

    Over the past 3 years, according to our records, ADT has replaced 4 or 5 sensors, some more than once. They have replaced the doorbell camera once or twice, possibly three times, we are not sure. They have replaced the control panel, the heat/smoke detector and one outdoor camera. There may be more that we have forgotten. Virtually every time, it is a battle to get them on-site, involving long wait times, repetition of the situation to various people, and insistence that they send someone out. Instead, we are paying for them to do work which should be covered under the warranty for the equipment we purchased. We suspect that we have either been sold used or inferior equipment, based on this service history, and now we have non-performance under the maintenance portion of the agreement.

    We have been told, more than once, by their on-site techs that ADT intends to eliminate their jobs and handle all service issues online with the customer performing all the work. For this reason, we had already made the decision to change providers when our contract expires but now we can't even get the faulty equipment fixed. We are active in AARP and retired state employees groups, so we will contact them regarding what has happened, so they can inform their members when they are in the process of selecting a security company. As a rule, retired people usually don't want the drama. We sure don't.

You can save that number into your phone, but we also recommend checking with your phone provider to ensure any calls from ADT are not blocked. This would not be an issue we can troubleshoot on our end regarding the blocked telephone issue.

    Everybody I've spoken with, the people who installed, and the original salesperson have been great. Quality is phenomenal. Once I tried to get a loaner DVR, but ADT told me there was none. The Paris Police Department decided they were going to come in with a search warrant and get my DVR. I fought for three weeks. I talked to this man named John on tier five, who was outraged that the police came in and got my DVR. He said that they had no right to come in and get it. That they have worked with several police departments. And all they had to do is come in and get a flash drive and they're only legally allowed to go back one or two hours. When I called the police department, I told them what John said. I had my DVR back in 15 minutes. So, everyone has been wonderful.

    The rep was very informative. He told us all the options. The installer got right on the job. He double-checked everything and made sure everything was working. He had to go over a few things a time or two. I have also called him when I had a problem and he helped me out. But with the glass breakage sensor they put in, they need to tone that down because when one of the cats jumps off one of our dressers, it goes off. It also goes off you make a noise or bump something. They need to reprogram it to the sound of breaking glass and not just noise.

    I am in 3 years agreement with ADT for fixed rate. I trusted the brand, and opted for autopay, to my surprise they increased the billing couple of times. What is the meaning of being in a contract, where it clearly mentioned monthly payments and duration, and the total payment for 36 months period. This is breach of trust, and cheap. Initially I had issues with sales person giving some info which was not in line with the agreement. I will not recommend ADT, and in case you want to go with them, make sure to check the contract and monthly payments.

    I had ADT in Georgia for quite a few years and everything was always good. When I compared them with other highly recommended companies, their prices were about the same. The lady sales rep was very nice and helpful. Also, I was quite comfortable with the gentleman that came to install my system. I had a bad experience once so I'm leery.

    I have a little bit of a learning process problem with the system so a technician showed me everything. My brother has been over here on a couple of instances. I carry the little button in my purse and I turn it on before I go out the door and turn it off when I come in. Just doing it the same way is good for me. I can get in the car and turn the alarm system on and off with the little button that I carry in my purse. There's a button I carry in my purse that I can press if I have an emergency.

    The system is wonderful. I am able to turn that on when I'm in the house alone or at night. I keep it on just about all the time and anytime that I'm not here. It's easy. I like it and it makes me feel better. The system has a little bell that goes off every time somebody comes in and out a door. There was a break-in near at my neighbor's before I got the system. It's just very comforting to know that something would bring to my attention if somebody were to try to get in my house and I was at home.

    I have been an ADT customer for more than 10 years by default since they bought Brinx. I recently upgraded my system to new panels. They tried to upsell me several items which I declined. At the time of install, the tech presented me with a Google Nest Hub, a product like Alexa, which I declined on the phone when I made the order. I did not need it. When the tech showed up for the alarm install he put the Nest Hub box on my kitchen counter. I asked about it and he told me it was a gift (quote: consider it a late Xmas present") and that he would help me set it up. He apparently changed his mind and told me that set up is not something he helps with and something I do on my own. 2 hours later I get a statement telling me they charged my card $120 for this $79 item that I never asked for and which was presented as a free item for my $1000 plus upgrade.

    He made new changes to the already signed contract to treat it like it was agreed to and sent it as an uneditable PDF. The billing department that I waited 45 minutes to talk to just now told me I agreed to it, when I did not. He even included a recital with a box checked off that he helped me sit it up and install it which was another total lie. As usual, when I called to complain, it was the usual 45 minute hold, talk to 3 diff departments, and after talked to billing who did nothing, now transferred a 4th time to "Accounts Management Dept" and facing a 72 minute hold. They reply to all their horrible reviews with "we are very sorry," but they are not sorry. They change nothing. Do not use this company. Find a local alarm company with ethics. These people are the worst of the worst. They will make no effort to fix anything. They do not care about you.

    They will also slide 5 year clause into the contract which is an absolute disgraceful way to treat 10+ year customers who upgrade. You are asking for trouble if you use this dishonest disgraceful company. Whoever the CEO is should be absolutely ashamed of him/herself, same for the customer service manager who should also be fired. As I write the review I am on hold now running 1 hour and 10 minutes. That is their end game to get you to give up. Bottom line, you do not present something as a gift then falsely memorialize and already signed contraxct by slipping in a charge for it after the fact - that is outright FRAUD. Then going hide afterward and making it impossible to talk to anyone is shameful. IF they were SORRY about all the horrible reviews, they would change how they do business. They are not sorry.

    The ADT sales rep was down-to-earth. He wasn't trying to push. The installer was very good too. It was a bad job to be doing it within a tin building with a hot roof. I warned them before they came that it was gonna be very hot. I said, “You can tell me when you want to schedule. I would like for you to be in there in the mornings or evenings when it's cooler.” That guy showed up said, “I’m ready to go at 3 o’clock.” I said, “Don’t you wanna sit down, relax a little bit?” He said, “No, I don’t get paid to sit.” He crawled up in there then came down and said, “You’re right. That’s hot.” He hooked it up on the wall, ran us through everything and gave us our passwords. He was a very nice guy. Everything's been great. I'm happy. They've been diligent about calling and sending technicians but I'm not happy with the customer service process, with the troubleshooting that they need to take you through to figure out the issue.     I have talked to ADT customer service several times about my cameras that won’t work with 5G internet and my garage door opener that also doesn’t work with 5G. I’ve been told they do work, then told they don’t. They wouldn’t send a tech I requested because they said I could do it myself. After two hours of trying, I couldn’t get the cams working and the e-mail for the instructions to the garage specifically states it won’t work wit 5G. Anyway, I’ve been on hold with three different depts as I write this and none want to help. I am requesting they pick up the garage door opener and remove the amount it costs per month, and the same for the cameras. No one can be the one to do it. I’m going to tell them to jump in a lake and cancel the whole service now. I can’t say enough bad things about this company.

    I purchased my first home back in June of 2022. Being that I wanted a home monitoring service I did a little research, knew the ADT name and saw it worked with Google Home. Sold. Well here I am in January of 2023. I've done a lot more research and found that for almost a tenth of the price I could buy a better system and have it monitored for almost my monthly cost. My system has 3 cameras, 8 entry/shock sensors, a motion detector and 2 smoke detectors. All of that came to a grand total of just under 3k USD with a 5 year monitoring contract at $73 a month.

    For $500ish I could buy almost identical equipment, actually some better. For instance their cameras can move around and have it monitored for $100. I called them as there's a "Six Month Money Back Guarantee". Well they'll only stand behind that if the system fails 3 times and they can't resolve it with tech visits. So here I am stuck spending $3k on equipment and $4400 in monitoring when I could have the same for $1000.

    I first got ADT in 2013 and had them through about 2019. When I went to cancel because I had gotten married and joined households with my husband, I was given the longest, most complicated run-around of all time. First, they canceled my sister's account instead of mine. It literally took them weeks to undo what they had done. Every phone call was painful as I had to recap to the agents what they had been putting me through. And they consistently kept getting my sister's and my accounts messed up. I ended up having to pay for a full year of service that I didn't need. I literally paid a bill every single month for a service I wasn't using. After six years of being a loyal customer.

    Now, they are doing the same thing to my sister, quoting her ridiculous fees and claiming she "verbally agreed" to things she didn't. After speaking with someone today, the customer service agent actually hung up on her. Don't use ADT. Go with Ring, Simply Safe, or literally ANYTHING else. ADT doesn't care about you and they certainly don't want to help you. They just want your money.

    I have had a few issues with the system in front. The wires that were plugged in pulled apart and the camera isn't working now. I tried to have my electrician put it back. He put it back in but there's a process to get it in working condition again. So, it's offline. We tried calling ADT and they're telling me there's a fee. I'm not gonna pay that. They connected it and the wires came apart. They waived the fee and the tech asked me where the camera is plugged in. When we went to look, we noticed that the camera was unplugged. Somebody in the room where the camera is plugged in unplugged the camera. I didn't think that because we told them never to unplug it.

    The equipment is fine. What they need to improve on is if somebody likes their product enough to install it in their home, they should be able to provide a service where a tech will come and it it's something they could fix that is not the customer's fault, they will fix it. But they should not tell customers upfront, "Oh, if we come out, it's gonna be $60, gonna be $50." They don't know what the problem is until they see it. The problem that I'm having is that the wires were not installed tightly enough so it doesn't come apart. That should not be my problem for me to pay somebody. When they tell me that there’s gonna be upfront if they send the technician, it's ridiculous. Why are they charging me to have somebody look to make sure that the system is working properly? I'm frustrated with that.

    But I like this product enough and I'm representing them because if I like it, I will tell people, “Oh, I got this product. I love it so much.” But I'm not gonna tell anybody now because every time something goes wrong, I'm gonna be charged a fee.

    I am extremely satisfied with ADT and I would not give them up under any circumstances. They are very efficient. Other than the past holiday when there was a couple of glitches and it took me maybe about five minutes to get through to them, they're great. I just call them up if I need them and they come always within a few days. Lately, we've been doing things on the telephone and they have technicians. They changed their thing where they don't have to come down there. It helps them and it gets me through it faster. They put a technician on the phone and we go through the diagnostics together, and they're very good at it.

    People should use ADT. I only had one problem in the many years that I've been using them, which got to be at least 15 years. We couldn't get it resolved but we finally did. I have a piece of property in Florida and I use ADT to take care of everything over there. Even when I'm not there, they find ways of fixing things up remotely. The system has its bugs but everything basically works well. I just had a problem with it and I couldn't figure out what zone it was. The person spent at least 15 minutes while I was going to each zone trying to figure out which one was causing the problem. We finally found it. It wasn't signaling that the battery was low or dead, and that was the problem, and we fixed it.

    I was contacted by a company representing themselves as ADT. I had specific requirements - 24/hr recording, capability to function in event of power outage (hurricane zone), and video access. The salesman – still representing himself as ADT – assured me that the cameras would be monitored 24/7 and there was a battery backup that lasted a week. It didn’t take long before I noticed that the cameras weren’t picking up everything. A tech came out and replaced the camera. My vehicle was broken into overnight and the camera recorded NOTHING. I told them I wanted to cancel. At this point I was furious. I reminded them of the issues that I had been having since day one and that I wasn’t happy with their service. They apologized for the inconvenience and sent out a tech. Their remedy was to put up another camera pointed in another direction and changed a few settings.

    Multiple calls and complaints later, I find out that 1) recordings are limited per month and deleting does not make room for more. 2) Activity triggers the recordings, it is NOT 24/7. 3) Video is NOT monitored. 4) The control panel has a backup battery - cameras do not. 5) if the modem goes out there is no connection and videos are not saved. Every call for service included a demand to cancel. They said there was a process and they were required to go through the chain before I could do so. However, once I was past the 6 month cancellation period they were more than eager to forward me to that department…if I paid the termination fee of 75% of the remaining balance of the contract.

    Customer service acknowledged that they had problems with some third-party contractors and informed me that they were no longer working with the particular company. I spent multiple hours on the phone as I spoke with different levels and departments. Most times it was calling back after a period of time to check on the ticket that was supposedly placed. Each time I was told the fee is valid because it is past the 6 months. They acknowledge they received a contract under false pretenses but forced me to remain past the 6 months so that they could collect at least 75% of the balance.

    ADT rushes consumers into long term contracts that are not explained up-front. They use difficult to read electronic devices/tablets with a 'technician' standing over you in your home to secure your signature. I was promised that the existing system in a home I had just purchased could have a low temp alarm added, as required by my insurance company. ADT was not able to install that sensor, but would not cancel my contract (even after waiting on hold for over 1 hour!) without me paying for 3 years of monitoring services = $2400 total. They did nothing other than start monitoring an existing system - REALLY BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES.

    My keypad beeped and messaged "Check #24 Family Room Side Window". I silenced the beeping and checked the window which was closed and locked. I called the number on my keypad and got a recording in a foreign language, but understood "9" so I dialed it and got a operator with an accent making her unintelligible, at least to me. I then went on the ADT website and found no categories of any help, so I tried to "chat" and was equally unsuccessful. I found a different 800 number and a robot told me the wait time would be 41 minutes. I could find no process to simply request a window sensor or even a technician.

    I had an upsetting experience with the ADT technician for installation of equipment at my home on 12/16/22. The technician did not complete the installation that I was guaranteed as a new customer. (Get FREE* installation of Google Nest Doorbell & Outdoor Nest Camera.) He did not install the second camera outside as requested. He focused on the installation of the google nest doorbell and keypad inside. In addition he did not give me the panic button as I had ordered when speaking to the sales representative to order services. I live alone and need this for safety. I was explicit in my need for this panic button. I understood that this was an add on charge.

    The Technician did not teach me how to use the google nest doorbell. He was rushing to leave and getting personal calls on his phone. He followed his own agenda to leave as quickly as possible. He told me to call ADT to have someone come out and install the second camera and to get me the panic button. He said the next technician will teach me how to use the system. He then gave me two bogus numbers to call for assistance. (One number was the technician to their support team), the other was his number. I never reached him and was unable to leave a message as the mailbox was not set up.

    I made numerous calls to ADT to resolve the installation of the second camera etc. I have a log of calls made to ADT that exceed 10 and was on the phone with ADT for over 1 hour and 38 min for just one of those calls. After speaking with 10 ADT agents (I kept a log) no one helped me and they kept sending me to another agent. The incompetence of their not knowing their job was astounding. This is theft of service and ADT should know about it. I plan to write to Jim DeVries President and CEO of ADT to alert him of this.

    I decided to cancel with ADT after that experience and when I called to cancel I spoke to a representative who appeared to know her job. She assured me of the following; that a technician would come out today, install the camera, teach me how to use the system, and give me the panic button. I told her fine that I will give ADT one more chance.

    A technician came out today 12/22/22 but said he is only here to give me the panic button. He said he will have to charge me for an installation for the second camera. He said he could install the camera but that he would need to charge me for it. I told him that the second google camera is free. After I said that I wasn't paying for installation of the second camera he then said he did not have the proper equipment needed to install it and someone else would have to come out. I told him that he just said he would be happy to install it and now suddenly he doesn't have the necessary equipment. I told him that I did not believe that was the truth. He left stating that I was being offensive. To be truthful I did say “I think you are ** me” but I did not raise my voice at this man. I was very upset as anyone would be under the circumstances.

    I called ADT to cancel service and my contract today and spoke with a few agents with no success. The calls kept getting dropped and no one called back. I wrote an email to cancel ADT effective immediately and asked that the google camera, equipment and the keypad be removed. I am not breaking my contract because I wasn't taught how to use the system, the installation was not complete and it has only been less than a week that I have had the google nest doorbell. I am so disappointed in ADT, I am active in my HOA and involved in numerous community groups. I am a teacher and work locally. I could never recommend ADT to anyone.

    Horrible experience from the start.

    1: Misquoted what I would pay (price suddenly went up after the system was installed in my home).
    2: Components constantly failing (Doorbell camera constantly fails and needs resetting, door sensors often do not show doors closed).

    3: Nobody tells you that you have to contact your local police force before ADT can have them sent to your home when the alarm goes off. We found out the hard way. Luckily it was a false alarm (we had 2 in the first 4 months saying windows were broken).

    We have had our system for only 6 months and are told we are out of the warranty period so we will have to pay a technician to come take care of the issues we have with the doorbell and door sensors. Now we are locked into a contract and will be charged almost $1700 if we cancel. Buyer beware

    A lot of my friends have canceled ADT's services, and they have their own cameras, but I wouldn't do that. Because we have the fire alarm, and if something happened to my husband, I gotta press the button and they'll be here. Everybody is great. Every time we got a problem and we call, they answer. We had something going on last year with the Xfinity lines, and the woman who came out was phenomenal. She was so on to everything. "Call them, tell them to update the lines. I'm gonna come back. I'm gonna fix it for you." That's exactly what I did, but Xfinity gave us a hard time. After they came out and fixed the line, the woman came back, fixed everything and said, "Sometimes it has to do with the lines with them." I said, "They don't wanna come out. They do not. It's horrible." I wouldn't recommend Xfinity even though I've had them for 24 years. I'm sick of them. On the other hand, I'm very satisfied with ADT.

    I had ADT at my address in Los Angeles for seven years and we had the service transferred over to this place. Jason was the person that did the installation and he was really cool. He explained everything and he never really made me feel I was asking stupid questions or didn't know what was going on. He offered really great advice and he went above and beyond what he had to. He actually came out afterwards and reinstalled some cameras for us. He also fixed some items after we had our breaker box stolen. He reattached everything and that was very nice of him to do.

    If it was not for Jason installing the camera that was watching the side of the house, we wouldn't have been able to get a picture of the people who stole the box.     The technician's work ethic was okay, but some of the censors he put in might be crooked when he could have wound them up better. There was one in the basement garage door that was so crooked, it kept setting off alarms when we were out in Arizona for the winter. He came out and fixed it. On the order though, I requested two signs, one for each driveway, and he only brought one, then it took him about two weeks to get out with the others. He was far away from where we live. We live in the foothills, and he was coming from the Bay area. If he stocked his truck better, that wouldn't have been an issue. Besides that, he was a very nice gentleman. He made it very easy for me to understand how to program the system.

    I'm very satisfied with ADT. Everything's perfect, and the system works well. I get good service if I ever have to call in or they call me. We live in the country and it's nice that even without being on Wi-Fi, we still get a notice from ADT whenever something's violated, so we can quickly get a technician on the line. It still works for us, but I've got a Jetpack from Verizon and I may go ahead and add Wi-Fi. We can use that while we're there.

    My carbon monoxide detector which is supposed to be monitored, had quit working and they didn't even get a notification. It took me over a month to get somebody out here. But when the techs got here, they were professional. They got it up and running, but I still don't know if it's being monitored. I can set it off and nobody ever calls. Nobody ever does anything. Used to be, if you looked at it sideways, cops would be at the house.

    I also have a camera offline that I unplugged just to see if they’d called me to tell me, because it's supposed to be monitored too, but it's not. They haven't called me yet.     ADT's reps are very thorough and professional. I've always been happy with them and I never had any problems. The system works well, too. I've never had any issues where if I open up a door, the alarm will go off or the beeper will go off. If I walk through a door that I'm not supposed to be going through when the alarm is on, it does screech at me.

    Aside from that, I have an outdoor camera and I woke up in the middle of the night once to what I thought was someone banging on my front door. But by the time I realized it, I didn't see anyone at the door. Despite that, I feel very secure knowing that I can go right on my app to see if somebody was there. The clarity of the outdoor camera is also very good, except when I have to clean the lens on it. Then sometimes, I have an issue when it rains very hard. For some reason, the camera goes out.     We've had a good experience with ADT. When I met with the representative, I felt good about what they told me. The only thing, batteries were getting low on my panel, and I had called to get a tech out here. The tech said, "You just change the batteries." He was checking something else. Then it ended up that the battery was bulging, and I had to order special battery. I told ADT about that. They ended up sending me two batteries, and one of them, they took off for free because of the complaint, that the tech didn't help me. But that was the only thing, everything else has been a very good service.

    ADT has some seriously questionable business practices when it comes to trying to cancel their service. When my contract was up, the first thing I did was try to cancel. The representative on the phone got argumentative and kept calling back. Then she put me on a 9.99/mo plan, which is great but I really don't need the service based on where I live. Now it's impossible to cancel because they put you on hold for over an hour.

    First I am not one to give negative reviews in fact I had to create an account with ConsumerAffairs to do so. The customer experience could not be worse at ADT alarms. If it was one negative exchange you would not be seeing this review. This has been going on for over 2 months. I have been on the phone with them 5 times now for close to an hour each time. Today I have been handed off to the "correct person" who can help me 6 different times so far. Currently still on hold waiting for help. Over two months ago the batteries went out in my keypad. I called them in hopes that they would send out a new battery since it is a specialized battery that you cannot get in local stores. They told me they could not order it and I needed to go online and order from their website. So I did. Not only did they send me the incorrect battery they sent me 7 of them 4 weeks later and charged me for all 7 at $40 a battery.

    So on the phone again I was issued a refund for the batteries and now for some reason, they were able to help me on the phone to order a new battery. The gentleman that helped me noted on the order and specified that the AAA battery pack was what is needed. They said again that it would be 3-5 business days for the order to arrive. 4 weeks later again they sent me the AA battery pack. So back to the phone. This time after being bounced around to 3-4 different people we ordered the AAA battery pack one more time. 3 weeks go by and still no battery. I call them today and have been handed off to 6 different people on the first call before the phone hung up on me during a transfer to a seventh. Currently on hold again. I hope that whoever is in charge of systems out there sees this review. I am a business owner and would never accept this service for my clients. Thanks for reading my rant.

    Beware! I paid for package online but when technician came out, he added numerous unauthorized charges including charging me for products that were never installed. I have been calling you for over a week and they refuse to resolve issue even after acknowledging that I have charges for products that were never installed. District Manager Steven ** called me and was accusing me of buyers remorse even though I NEVER (not even once) asked to cancel service. I simply asked them to fix extra unauthorized equipment that technician installed and set me up with items I ordered online when I signed up for service. This is beyond crazy that they are trying so hard to keep my money that their technician inappropriately charged. I've never experienced such unprofessional service from a company.

    If you choose to still patronize this company, make sure you review your charges carefully because technician never went over charges with me. Instead, he emailed me the second attached bill AFTER he left. I am going to continue to fight to make sure issues are addressed and will explore legal options if I need to. I just want to save someone else from this nightmare.

Steven ** insists that ADT does not need to do anything because contract was signed even though this "valid" contract that the technician did NOT review with me has 11 shock sensors and 9 door/window sensors, and technician only installed 13 sensors.     Their customer service reps and techs have been very nice. We just had a tsunami in Naples, Florida and I had to get some new equipment because they had to tear off 4 feet and under. The service was great but I was very disappointed was in what they charged me. The labor charge was ridiculous and I was extremely upset.

    I had ADT in Marietta, Georgia for a while and I loved it. I felt very safe and comfortable with it. When I moved into the Fort Oglethorpe area, we were in a less desirable neighborhood and it was very important to have a security system on the house. ADT is a deterrent to some degree. My system is selected for my personal needs and I liked that a lot. The only thing I wasn't able to get lately that they had, that they were running a program for was the camera doorbell. Unfortunately, the system I had was a little bit antiquated compared to that. I was not in the financial area where I could replace everything just to be able to do that. But I could still do a camera system separately.

    What I really like the most in my ADT package is the independence of having the fob on my keychain and being able to set my alarm as I need to. I like the feeling that my home is protected from fire by the alarm system. If ADT doesn't get me immediately on the cellphone, they call the authorities who then check my house out. Also, my alarm is very easy to work with, with the caretakers who come with my animals and stuff.

    Also, the response time was amazing. It's less than 10 minutes which is the difference between night and day on things. I've had nothing but good service from them. And when I've had a problem with my bill going up, I would call them and talk to them, and due to years of service and loyalty, they would work with me and try to negotiate my bill down a little bit. That means a lot to me as a consumer. They've been really good as far as making me feel like I'm a valued customer and that goes a long way. They are Johnny-on-the-spot with what I want them to do

    The package is a 10 out of 10 as far as the features that are provided. But sometimes the clarity is a 5 out of 10 for what you have to do regarding different things here and there. It wasn't clear to me that we were going to have to change out all of the fixtures. We were upgrading windows on the house and so we had to go back and forth with the company about when they were going to charge me for a fee to come back out for a service charge. I told the representative that we were in the project of doing several things like that so that part was a little finicky. I wish ADT would educate their customers regarding things of that nature.

    Also, I didn't realize that the third-party company was holding my account. I asked for ADT to come out and it was actually an ADT-approved company that came out. That was a big ordeal as well. I believe in ADT but that was very off-putting because I was being pulled by strings of different ways and I really didn't feel comfortable. It wasn't like they were lying or they were trying to squeeze me out. But I didn't have the information to make the decision.

    I have been with ADT for 3 years (only because they made me sign a contract for that long). My camera never works, you can't fix anything yourself, they have to come days later and charge you a minimum of $59 for a trip charge every time. The last time they came they had to reset my password on the camera because my router password had changed (why can't you change a password yourself???) They charged me $59 for the trip and then $139 for labor, to reset a password on a camera!!!!

    Then 3 days later the camera suddenly stopped working, and guess what...another trip charge of $59 even though they told me on the phone there would be no charge. The cameras are so grainy and not worth the $300+ you have to spend upfront to buy one, along with the SVR 200+ that you have to have with it in order to record. Absolutely cannot wait to cancel!!! ADT you should know there are other waaaaayyyyy better options out there for a fraction of the cost and cameras you can install yourself, you all need to change with the climate or you will become obsolete. JMO

    I sold my home on the 7th of this month and the new owner has ADT now because I told him to get it. I have a very good experience with them. But between when we signed and accepted the offer and the time we closed, I've received so many phone calls from ADT it's unbelievable. They know I'm moving out of the country, but I don't see how they don't know that on my prior file.

    Also, this week, I received an email notifying me of a certain credit they will give me for canceling my contract. When I called they said my account doesn't exist. I said, "Well, I'm looking at it." I gave them my account number, phone number, full name and prior address and they said they couldn't find it. Nobody gave me a clear answer as to how I would get the credit, if it's through my bank account or they will send me a check. But that's the only negative experience I've had with them.

    This new system, which ADT upgraded works on my phone. We were having home phone issues. So, it's all on my cellphone. We had the cameras put in and a new lock system put in last year. The upgrade and installation were very good. We had some issues at the beginning, though. I tried to see what we could do. We were having major home phone stuff. We've got a Spectrum home phone and our system was down all the time because the phone system was down. But when I called at the service trying to see what we could do to change it over, I didn't get much help and ended up canceling it for three weeks. I got a call back from one of their managers that actually came out here and upgraded everything because he said what happens is when you call these numbers, you don't go to the actual ADT. You go to different departments and different companies that are managing it. It was kind of a weird situation.

    He ended up coming out and was wonderful. He fixed everything and took care of it all and apologized for the inconvenience. He did a really good job. Right now, we're knocking at 20 years with ADT that we've had the security service. I really do enjoy the new system with the cameras though. We got all this upgraded service for maybe less than $10 than what I've been paying in the old thing and we didn't have half of what we did. So, it was very reasonable.

    I live in the country and there are no neighbors near me. I was robbed in broad daylight while I was teaching school. When an ADT salesman came and said, “Would you pay $1 a day to not ever have this happen to you again,” that made perfect sense to me. It's more than $1 a day now, but I've had ADT ever since. I've been robbed twice. The third time that happened, my alarm went off and it scared the robbers off. They left their hammer that they broke the doors with laying there.

    I've had ADT for so many years. I'm a firm believer in ADT and I would not go without it ever. When you're living on a farm, no doubt, you gotta have it. We have a radar detector and a smoke detector, and I appreciate both of those items. My husband goes to Vegas every year for March Madness so he's gone for about five days. I'm not really afraid to be home alone, but I love being able to set my alarm to stay. If anybody were to try to come through the door, my alarm would go off. My son and daughter-in-law have ADT as well and they use the app on their phone. I don't always remember their code and if my son knows I'm running into his house, he just turns the alarm off from his phone.

    I have been hung up on 4 times while trying to reach ADT to inform them that there were no sensors installed on any of my windows in my home. The security system was installed on the front door and garage only! When I called to inform them I was put on hold for 67 minutes! Then hung up on! I had to RESEARCH how to cancel the service. I wrote a letter requesting cancellation on the 21st of NOV. only to be given the run around by a guy named DONOVAN M. who refused to cancel my services. He put each step for cancellation in 3 different emails! First my full name password and security name/# then I had to hand write a letter with my signature and resubmit everything I submitted only to be told that the services would not be cancelled until 12/1! I want all of my money back because my house has NOT been secured the whole entire time of service! I have records of each call! Do NOT use ADT! They are not a customer friendly service!

    Wish to cancel our ADT service, it was installed on Feb. 07, 2022. Service technicians have been over to our home to fix the non-working system on May 16 2022, May 24, 2022, May 31, 2022, June 8, 2022, June 13, 2022 and Oct. 31, 2022. We do not have any more time off work to continue with the repairs that do not get resolved. We have invested time and money on the monitor system. The monitor in our home has 25 messages that stating most sensors as well as the two fire alarms are non-working. We don’t feel safe and protected. We have called numerous times to cancel and get disconnected each and every time. When they came in to remove their non-working equipment, they destroyed the painted walls in my home. Stay away from this company!

    I have been an ADT customer for more than 2 years and having such customer service is huge letdown. Background: I have service plan added to my account for no cost where ADT will not charge my account for tech visit. I was given a word by account manager that the tech visit will be of no charge on my account. Issue: I have recently started receiving sensor errors and unpleasant beeps. I called customer service to help me troubleshoot. They tried but they were not successful so I requested for technician visit to resolve and troubleshoot the issue.

    The rep said it will a charge for the tech visit. I mentioned about the service plan and ADT account manager gave me a word on no charge tech visit. But ADT was not honoring their word and they said it will be $59 visit fee. Keeping the original issue of sensor error and unpleasant beeps I spent more than 5 hours to explain about the service plan and no tech visit fee. Both the issues are still not resolved. I feel I am cheated by ADT and I am super disappointed with ADT. Lesson learned: what you agree on please have it in writing from ADT rep. Do not rely on their word. They will say anything to make a sale.

    About a week after the system was installed, the alarm went off in the middle of the night. I discovered that the sensor on the front door was peeling off. It was moving away from the magnet. It was disappointing. I contacted ADT and they sent me a glue kit. I glued it back on but I haven't followed through so it's still disabled. I would have expected somebody to follow up and make sure that I had that thing reset, though. Other than that, I love the features. It's beyond what I had before with a different company. I love that I can hear the audio.

    ADT sucked. Every time I turned around, they were hammering my credit card for a different charge and I couldn't ever get an answer why. It was $11 here and $99 there and 199 there. It took them two months to figure out. They figured some salesman said something wrong was the best answer I could get. I'm happy with the features and the service is great. It's just dealing with the people, getting the service set up and the technicians. They act like they've never done this before.

    We chose ADT for the different things that they provide and they met our needs at a reasonable cost. Also, they were willing to install right away. Their reps were very helpful in explaining what was going on. There was one thing that I misunderstood, though. I thought we would have cameras at the end of the house and I believe that was told to me by another provider. I was sort of under the assumption that there was more coverage.

    But other than that, we got many stamps that were put on the window, which indicated that it's covered by ADT. That is helpful in case someone comes up to a window and decides they're gonna try to take a chance to get through it. Also, every time someone comes up to the door, there's a little bang on my phone and it shows who it is. I can talk to them from wherever I am and I like that a lot. So far, the system has done exactly what they said it would do. We're very pleased with it and I feel much more secure.

    We called in the first responder that comes out and then, we got a call from the technician. He did a very nice job though he was there a long time. It was all done on the same day so that was fantastic. It was nice because we were only home a short time since we’re back and forth to our cottage. The ADT system came with a standard package, except we added the doorbell cameras. I have since bought a new phone when I switched from an Android to an iPhone but I haven't figured out how to set the system up on my phone and I'm not sure where to go with that. The tech set it up for my husband on his phone but I missed that and he doesn't know how to do it on my phone. I can arm and disarm. But my husband can see if somebody walks by our house and I’d like that. My daughter lives next door, so she keeps an eye on the place too.     ADT gave me a good discount on the cameras and the whole security system. But my timers and a couple of other things are not working. The box hanging on my wall is not doing right. You open the front door and it'll say the back door is open. The system was doing a good job when it was functioning correctly but that didn't last a day or two. The sales reps were supposed to get somebody to come out here and check, it, but they haven't shown up yet. I would tell a friend to look somewhere else if they ask about ADT.

    I love everything about ADT. I've got my sign proudly displayed in front of my house. And I've got those solar lights that come on and shine on it at night. My house backs up to a natural preserve, and there's a dirt road that goes behind us, so I have one of those signs in my patio facing out that way, too. Whenever something has gone off, I know if ADT couldn't reach me for whatever reason, they immediately called my son who was my backup. So, they were good about that. With phones, they would tell me that if I don't respond, they would call the police department.

    As the most expensive, I hoped ADT would be the best. Instead they messed up the initial installation appointment and failed to provide the new customer deals offered over the phone. As a result I had to sign a 12 month contract over the phone in order to have the equipment activated before I left town. I was assured that given their poor service and mistakes I could cancel any time and account was notated. Now that I would like to cancel, the company will not let me out of contract without paying full price for remaining months. Note: No equipment was installed so there was no investment by the company. Horrible overall experience with multiple examples of false promises made. Can’t trust them with my family’s safety.

    My husband had wanted the alarm taken out. He has been going through a lot of medical problems, and he decided that he didn't want the alarm anymore. I talked to ADT, and they lowered the payment every month to keep this because we've been with them for so long. The alarm has gone off a few times. But everything is fine.     ADT is not #1 company in anything! They will have you on the line for over an hour to report a problem with a unit. They will also shuffle you between incompetent customer reps back and forth, additionally wasting your time. They are not efficient, nor care about a customer. What a waste! My advice is totally seek a different company that does things better, this is a WASTE OF TIME DEALING WITH INCOMPETENT ADT.

    I've had a good experience with ADT. For the times that I have dealt with them, I've never had any kind of issues with them. I turn my security system on every night and when I leave my house, I feel good that I've got ADT looking after me. I would tell others they should have it. It's wonderful. It's a peace of mind. It gives me hope. When you go to bed at night and you've got your security system on, you've got something there to help you. If anything happens in the middle of the night and the window is broken or the door is jarred, the police department will know about it, and ADT will know about it and come to our rescue.

    We had our ADT system go through a complete system failure during bad weather which cause the system to start a loud alarm and then do a continuous beep every five minutes and then die down after 2 hours or so. During this period NO ONE from ADT called me to check on the emergency alarm which is what they will promise you and sell you the system on - IT'S a Massive LIE! And read on to know more and why!

    I tried to call their service center over 20 times and each time they would say there is a 80 minute, 90 minute, 76 minute hold time and offer a call back and I would opt for it and NO ONE would call back. Finally after one day I got a call back and the technician could not understand English. Their reception was very poor and they had absolutely no clue how to troubleshoot. After 44 minutes on the phone I asked them if they could send out a technician and they said all They could was send me to another so called “tech expert” and at which point they blurted out being out of another country and working from home so they had NO control over HOW BAD the technology was where you could barely hear or understand what they were saying.

    At this point I keep pressing them to send a technician and they then tell me that to do that I have to pay them $139 and I get flabbergasted that I pay a monthly fee for my services. They guaranteed they would always service it and now all of it is a complete LIE! I then ask to speak to a manager and they say that the manager will call me whenever! Two days go by and I get a manager voicemail promising a call back but none comes. Five days later I call to cancel my subscription and this is where their SCAM comes alive. They ask me $992 to cancel. Even if you total my monthly subscription for one year that’s a $700 so I don’t know how they came up with one month of fee plus $992!

    At this point I explain my predicament to the lady on the phone and she tells me that her notes state that I refused a technician from visiting my home (A TOTAL LIE) and I explain to her why that is logically impossible and she then relents and says a technician will come home 6 days later! Now I am on day one of six so not sure if they will come but in the meanwhile I Asked her what if My house got broken into and their system would not notify the police because it has failed and that is the ONLY promise from a security company and what should I do then because I am paying for a service that does not exist and they have no guarantees to serve you! Will you allow such a fraudulent organization to service your house and let your family suffer and let your family be in harm's way and wash their hands off? Decide for yourself!!

    The feature I use the most, other than the sensors on the doors is the sensor in the hallway. If I feel like I hear something, I can look at my cell phone and look at the app. I love having the app and just making sure that there's no motion detected. However, I complained against the salesperson at ADT. My options weren't presented to me the way they should have been and my questions weren't being answered. But in the end, all my concerns were resolved.

    I like ADT. I lost my remote and they said if I replaced it, it would cost me 50 bucks. So, I don't have the remote anymore. It's so little. I used to take it with me in my car, then when I drove in the driveway, I could shut it off before I came into the house because my garage doors are connected to my service. So, when I open the garage door, it will go off. So, I could always shut it off with the remote but now, I don't do that. ADT costs me like $32 a month but where I live, I'm happy I do have it.

There are some newer or other companies that pop up but I do feel that ADT does a good job and has kept up with technology. I like that I can turn the alarm on and off from my phone.     The customer service with ADT was excellent and very customer-satisfactory. I love the system. It's the first system I've ever had and it's pretty cool and awesome. At first, there were some complications, but my house is really old, and there are a lot of brick and double layers of drywall. So, most of it was just signal issues, but their guy came over a couple of different times and got that taken care of. It was awesome the way that he went about it and did everything. So, it worked out great.

    We were told that in order to cancel our services and not have to pay for our equipment, we just had to downgrade to the Blue service for 30 days and we would not be charged. We kept it for 30 days, and we got told we not only had to pay $2k for other equipment but now we had MORE equipment to pay-off. When we called back, the rep snarkily said "well, you signed the contract didn't you? It doesn't matter what our reps said." In other words, their reps can commit fraud and not be held legally responsible. Their sales tactics are SICKENING and I will be voicing it everywhere I can!!

    What I don't like that much is always with the service. If I can’t do it by my own, with somebody on the phone. I had to twice. And the last one, there was a problem on the doorbell. It was broke after not even a year. I didn't have to pay that because it was too new. But I always have to pay $60 for the service. And that's a bit much. I paid 120 within a year. The system itself I like very much. I now have that fire alarm detector too. We put it the last time. That's very good too. So we are more safe, more protected.

    It was a little bit of a bait-and-switch. The woman on the phone was very nice. She told me the service with ADT was 59.99 a month, and I'd get the keypad, two or three door openings and a smoke detector. I contacted them and a guy was going to come. I thought he was coming around to do give me a lay of the land. But he was coming to install. He was a fantastic technician. But he explained to me that everything else was an add-on. I wound up paying for what they said was included and that rubbed me the wrong way. That was another $1,000 more. But they resolved it. They threw another $100 credit at me.

    Initially, the system went down after four days, and that was where I started getting annoyed. I called them up and the woman on the phone said, “Let's walk through. Let's see if we can fix it.” I told her I didn't have time. I wouldn’t get up on a ladder and do this and that. I asked her to send their technician out. She told me it was gonna be five days. But once the guy came back out again, I haven't had any other issues.

    ADT's price is not as high as some other companies'. The person who installed the system was terrific. The system is working well. I set it arm/stay. This way, when we leave, if someone was to break into the door, it doesn't give them 45 seconds before the alarm goes off. It goes off immediately. When I get home, I could just turn it off with the app. There was a little problem last week. I gave them a call and they helped me out.

    I am not too happy with ADT. I was gonna take the cable off, but whatever they told me ain't what it was. I had trouble the third day, and I had to go through loops and hoops in order to get it back on. I didn't even know they charged for a technician to come out. They never said that. Why would they charge for somebody to come out? It's their product. If I would have known what I had known, I wouldn't have left Comcast.

    My bill is supposed to be 105 with something, but I get billed 125 with some cents. Also, their hold time is ridiculous. Sometimes even when you're holding, it hangs up. Then you call back and wait another 45 minutes. When I talked to a rep, she was gonna send a technician. We got cut off so I had to call right back then somebody else told me something. I shouldn't have to be on the phone almost all day then at the end of the day, nothing gets fixed. It had been two times that I wanted to cut ADT off.

    ADT has been wonderful. The system works fine. I called after the hurricane came through, because I had lost power. I'm a widow. I’m 87 and I live by myself. So, I depend on ADT for my security. I called the customer service number and they told me that it did have a backup battery, and it would recharge when the power came back out, and I shouldn't have anything to worry about. But if it didn't work, to call them and they would send a technician out. And they have always responded to any questions I had. I haven't called and done a check to see if everything was working the way it should. All I know is when I start to leave and turn it on, I hear it go through the cycle. And at night, when I turn it on, the same thing. The only thing is it only covers my doors, not my windows. But it really is my security system. It makes me feel very safe to have ADT. I recommended it to several people.

And he went on explaining to me that if my system didn't get upgraded, if alarm was to go off, it wouldn't register because I was not upped with the 5g. He was very helpful.     The website is very helpful and informative. I would highly recommend it too. One thing I didn't realize as I went out there on the website was I could get a battery. I was looking at the big cell battery. That came in. And a lot of things that you go out there and you can get. Or if you need more of the little picket for your yard. A couple of months later, they raised it. I just got tired of arguing with them. Maybe the first person didn't give me the correct information. When they came, I did additional because I wanted the windows protected for break. But I was upset because I got a flyer saying that I could get the doorbells. And they came to my house twice and said I needed a camera hooked up. But I have a camera hooked up in my kitchen and I was paying for it.     I love ADT’s service. When I have a question, I call my salesman. He is ready and willing. I’ve had questions about the thermostat and about a couple of other things. He would tell me where to look and I would find it and we’re ready to go. During hurricane Ian, I had my daughter and her husband here, and I had set the alarm. In the middle of the night, her husband fell out of bed. He's 80 and cut his arm. My daughter went into the garage. She opened the door. I was sound asleep. Everything went off. It was like a siren went off. I didn't hear a thing because I have hearing aids. All of a sudden, my son who lives next door was called. They were gonna send the patrolman out here, and it was like a zoo in this house. If it had been a break-in, the whole world would have been here.

    ADT responded right away. It took my son an hour to convince ADT that it wasn't a break-in. Finally, they woke me up and I punched in the code. Then they wanted a verbal password. It was an absolutely wild time around here at two o'clock in the morning. There was no power so it was pitch black here. You couldn't see your hand in front of your face. We looked back and said, “We don't want to do this again.” After that, I just didn't turn the system on at night when they were here. It got resolved and we have a verbal passcode now, and the family knows it. I've been very pleased with the system.

    I have had my ADT system for almost three years and initially was very satisfied with the customer service and the alarm response. However, over the past several months it has become almost impossible to get a customer service representative to deal with equipment issues. More importantly, is that we no longer get verification calls from ADT when our alarms go off as we used to earlier on. What was even more disturbing was when we finally got a representative on the phone we were told calls were not made because we had disarmed the system albeit several minutes after the alarms went off!! I asked to speak with a manager and now it's several days later and no one has contacted me.

    Effectively we have an ADT alarm system but have no assurance that if intruders come into our home, ADT will even make the verification call to determine if all is well - worse still in a situation where we are coerced to shut off the alarms. This is very disturbing and worrisome as many of us are sleeping in our homes at night believing we have some measure of security we are paying for while this seems not to be the case!!! Very very disappointed and waiting of for a return call from an ADT manager or supervisor still...

    If I could give 0 stars, I would. Tried to get through to Customer Loyalty (I was on phone 5 times from 1-6:30 PM on Oct. 19, 2022) and each time I get to someone after being on hold for hours they put me on hold again and disconnect me then I start all over and same thing happened after being on hold for an hour. On October 11, 2022 I was talked into upgrading my system which I initially was told would be $109.00 plus the monthly monitoring would be $66.40. Then when they arrived on October 13 to install the upgraded system I was made to sign another contract for $544.93 and told monitoring was $60.41. Then I was directed to download the new monitoring app and discovered the Now app and upgrade (I formerly had a Pulse system) is not compatible with my DVR and Camera System. To get that to work I would need to upgrade my DVR system which would be another $600. None of this was explained to me before all of this was started.

    I spoke to the one Tech I know and he told me to talk with Customer Loyalty which I can not get through to. I am very disgusted. The reps I did get through to did not even try to call me back after being disconnected and they have my phone number! I've been with ADT almost 10 years and it was one of your techs who is a friend that talked me into going with ADT in the first place. All I want is for the charges to get straightened out and my outdoor video cameras and recorder to once again work with the APP!

    I initially placed this review and got a response from Timothy L. ADT Presidential Executive Response & Resolution& Social Media Specialist. He told me my upgrade was actually $1090. and was discounted to $618.69. He also told me to contact The TIER 3 CCTV team is specialized in CCTV and DVR networks who will be able to help me with an app to view the cameras. I contacted this division and after being on hold for an hour, spoke to Dave who told me there are no apps for my DVR system and that it only worked with pulse and there was no way to activate pulse again.

    He then transferred me to customer service again as I requested to have this system removed and cancel all service and was on hold again for 45 minutes and was told I can not cancel as I was beyond the period (3 days) I could cancel and I would have to pay the balance of the contract to cancel. Note that this issue has been going on since October 13, when I signed the contract!!! I am disgusted with ADT. I am stuck with them now for next 3 years. I am not paying them another penny after that. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR SECURITY!!! They are a scam and will rope you into a contract you have no choice in. Very Poor customer service!!!

    ADT responds fast. Except when there's a high volume, I have to wait. But normally, everything is okay. They get to the sheriff. When I come to call the sheriff, the sheriff gets out to my property. And the best thing I like is that the deputy sheriffs call me on their personal cell phone and tell me if everything is okay and what's happening at my property. If I have a problem-- usually the monitor outside doesn't show everything on the monitor on the wall-- I can have a technician there within the next day or two days. They're very good.

    Every technician that comes out there does the job and leaves. We've made good friends with them. Sometimes, the same guy would come and says he remembers the house. I would ask ADT if I could I have such technician and they would say if the technician is available, I can have him. I can trust ADT and they always call at 3 o'clock in the morning. I was in Virginia and I was going up to New York to visit some friends. I'm at the hotel, 3 o'clock in the morning, I got a call and they said, "We have a possible break in the front door." I said, "Respond with the sheriff." I turned around, drove directly back, didn't stop until I got to the sheriff's office and he said everything was all right. It was a strong wind that happens to come in from Alabama which they said happens all the time. It was 60 miles an hour and it jarred the connections. All it had to do is move 1/8 of an inch and it breaks the contact.

    When we first decided to go with ADT with the new home (I've had ADT since 2012) it was purely cause the salesperson committed to a monthly monitor fee of $51 per month. I purchased another 5k of equipment again (I purchased 4 to 5k equipment 3x in 3 different homes the past 10 years) based on the understanding the monitor fees would be 51 per month and stay at that fee. However, all of a sudden I start receiving bills with monitor fees of almost 100, double of what was promised. Several weeks ago, I called ADT executive line and told them of the issue. They stated it would be reviewed and the monitor fee would be adjusted. However, nothing has been done. This is unacceptable and such a horrible way to treat a long standing customer that has spent so much money purchasing ADT equipment multiple times for almost $20,000 in total! They are a fraudulent company that baits and switches consumers. Absolutely the worst, be aware!!!
