    I bought ADT for my house in Georgia, I used a professional installer and with that comes a 36 month contract, to which I still never received two of my smoke detectors valued at over $400. I was given military orders to move to Tennessee, in working with ADT I was promised that if I bought equipment through them for my new home in Tennessee it would cancel out the contract for the Georgia home, so I did that. Lo and behold, ADT tried to charge me over $1,100 dollars for the remainder of the contract!

    I am trying to get this resolved so they do not keep trying to charge me, but I keep getting bounced around from phone number to phone number saying "This number will help you." This happened at least 10 times. I tried giving the salesman a chance to fix it and nothing has come about that. I am trying to understand how a multibillion-dollar company has such poor internal communication and lack of accountability. After this whole ordeal, I will be going with a different security company.

    We signed up with ADT and they put in the sensors. Then, when we moved to our new house, we had them put in new sensors and kept our account with them. If it goes off, ADT definitely calls the phone numbers they have. Sometimes, it’s my phone that goes off and if I haven't answered, my husband's phone goes off and he answers it. So ADT definitely responds and asks us if we want them to call the police. In both cases, we did, but it turned out that we have French doors that are a little loose. So, when there was a thunderstorm and there was a big truck that went by, those two things set off the alarm. But in all these years, we’ve only had the alarm go off twice like that.

    We use the Away button when we're going out and then, we use the Stay button. We had new batteries put in so we called and a serviceman came out and put the new battery in the thing on the wall. But we didn't check the battery on the one we have up here next to the bed. So, someone got on the phone with my husband and talked him through how to change that battery. The techs come out and do that for free and we appreciate that because it's part of our service. But we don't have to have that very often. I don't use the remote that often but I started using it recently, and it works well. It's nice not to have to come in and walk to the wall-mounted section to turn the system off.

    In the beginning, there was a door chime that goes off whenever someone opens or closes the door. I used that for a while but we decided that was too much noise. I was a single woman for many years so I've always locked my doors. Even if we're out gardening, we lock the doors because people can get in your house if your back door is open and you're out front. So, I feel very safe because we have this system. If people wanna get a system that's very responsive, use ADT. A couple of times, we set the alarm off ourselves and did not get to it in time, and we got a text. If people want a group that's on top of it, ADT is the one I would get. The backup to the system with a real person is what's important.

    I was thrilled at getting ADT, we used the referral on the USAA site. ADT was labeled as a perk. After getting the system, we were promised a $100 gift card by the salesman and the corporate office. We have not received the card mentioned in April, 2023. This is not good advertising to promise and not follow up. Thank you.

    I moved in April, called ADT to have services transferred. The agent created a new account. I called to have the account transferred the right way. Was told that it would be handled on the day of installation at the new address. I purchased new equipment thinking things were good to go… Days later the mistake is not corrected and the new equipment is put under my name but the services were transferred back to my husband's name. I call ADT, they send my husband a new contract to sign to transfer the equipment back to him. I was told it was complete. I get 2 more bills, speak to several people who all assure me that the problem has been fixed.

    Fast forward to 7/17… I get another call about this $2100 in equipment, this time I’m told that they will settle the bill for $1537.?? The service agent stated that it is not possible to transfer the contract and that she’s never seen it done. So I pay it just to resolve this issue. Today I get a call from a collections agency stating that I still owe 531.61. I am livid! I’ve done everything that I was supposed to do. Spent countless hours on the phone in an attempt to resolve this and it is still a complete mess. Not to mention on that same call I realized that I’ve been charged for the old address and new address for the past 3 months and they will only refund 2 of those months.

    I am still waiting on my refund. Now I have over $2k in new equipment and am stuck! If I cancel my services I have just wasted all of this money. I would never do business with ADT or any or it’s affiliates ever again! I am also contacting the Better Business Bureau. I have never seen a company that cannot handle business!! And now I have a collection on my credit!

    They make it impossible to cancel. They should be criminally charged for having their phone automatically disconnect after holding for 30+ minutes and when call transfer it disconnects. The text option person cannot cancel account. You cannot cancel online.

    My sensors and work well. I had a problem when it was saying something about the sensor. I had to replace the batteries in the main sensor inside the house. ADT walked me through it and I learned how to do it. There were times when the outdoor cameras stopped working and ADT sent somebody out to check on it and replace it. The other problem I had was when the technician first installed the cameras. My driveway camera kept going out of focus. I went out and looked at it. It was drooping over. I noticed that it had come through my porch. I have an enclosed porch and he had hooked it up to an extension cord. They said they could do that. My other camera on the side of the house was solid to the wall and this one wasn't. When they came out, they took the cord and attached it to the roof part of the porch and went over to where the light was plugged in. I had an outlet right there at the light. They went ahead and it's more secure now.

    It might have been the man that they sent out the first time who didn't do it right. He thought I was gonna have the cameras on the inside. When he found out it was the outside, he said he'd have to come back but never did. Since he had done my job on the inside, he had gotten credit for doing what he needed to do and figured he'd put me off. He kept putting me off because he didn't want to have to do it on the outside because it was easier on the inside. I would call and they would change the schedule date but he couldn't come. I finally had to complain. The reason I wanted the cameras outside was I had had some vandalism. I wanted to be able to see what was going on outside my house. I had to threaten and finally, someone came. This man did it right and apologized. I was satisfied.

    Had an issue regarding payment made. Upon incurring, I chatted with an agent who advised on situation, however, agent was incorrect causing financial difficulties. Tried calling for assistance but they couldn't assist and would need a manager to contact me back in the next 24-48 hrs. I was told could not be any sooner as my issue was no more important than any other issue. Never got a call. Tried multiple times to chat with an agent, but got disconnected every time before getting confirmation of the refund they were going to process. Decent system, just HORRIBLE Customer Service when facing an issue.

    When the battery in the main box was beeping, I had to get a new battery and I called ADT to make sure it was replaced properly. Taking the battery out and putting one in was real easy. Overall, the system has pretty good quality. But when I asked ADT about cameras and upgrades, they gave me the same quote as if I was just a new customer. I was almost ready to switch out and change it. I've been with them for almost 20 years and they didn't offer me anything. But for the length of time that I've had ADT, I never had a problem with them. Any kind of problems or changes or anything that needed to be repaired or fixed, they came out right away and resolved them. It's a sense of security. When I'm away and come back home, my house is still intact, and when I'm home, I don't worry about any intrusions.

    We had ADT at our house prior to this house and were pleased with it then, so we continued using it here at this house. I've had some false alarms before that I've talked to them about. The customer service was great. They listened to what had happened to set the alarm off, and that it wasn't anything major. Overall, ADT has excellent service and speedy response.     So let me say I have been with them so long I am actually under Protection 1. Today a bad storm hit J’vill and lightening hit my house. Lost a TV, cable box, 4 light bulbs, my ADT alarm and ADT Nest thermostat. I can wait for most things to be fixed but since the Nest thermostat is not working that means you guessed it no AC. I am in Florida and it’s a heat wave with a heat warning. So I called ADT/Protection 1 and after an exhausting 2 hours on the phone getting passed around like a joint at a frat party, I finally gave up and just asked for a service tech. This was after getting the 6th person at Alarm.com who finally said I needed to cut the power to re-wire the panel. Um okay.

    So then I had to hang up and call ADT to set an appointment. So July 31st is their next appointment. 8 days without AC in Florida during a heat wave. Needless to say at this point I lost my mind. Got put on hold again and finally someone came on and said she can get me an appointment Wed (3 days from now). She tried and I appreciate that. Before you ask, the emergency service is $200 first 30 min then $50 every 15 min so you know they will be here 2-4 hours and I don’t have $500-$1000 to waste. Now I am researching new companies who might have better deals and better customer support. Such a shame.

    I got the system put on my window and I added cameras on the back of my yard and on both sides of my house. One time, I had to have a tech come out because I had a problem. The system was damaged and they had to replace it. Also, I reached out when I had a problem with being billed twice. I had a lot of problem with that but I spoke to a manager and we finally got it straightened out.

    I have the alarm system from ADT. They're great. I've had technical situations where they've really been outstanding. They addressed it and they stayed with me online until it was resolved. They sent me signs. Their customer service is really good. They don't break the connection with you until everything is resolved. They address everything. I felt much more secure because of the alarm system. It's pretty efficient. If somebody were to come in the house, they notify you through your phone. If you open the door at the house, when it's set, it automatically alerts the police if it's not addressed. They respond quickly, too if there's an alarm, so I feel pretty comfortable having the system. ADT is good. I wouldn't have kept them this long if I wasn't too comfortable with them.

    I have ADT in my business here. We've had it for about 17 years now. We also switched our security system at our home from Comcast to ADT, and that's been wonderful. The service and the products have been good. The customer service is a little bit messed up at times, especially at our house. We've had a few problems, and they'll say, "Well, you gotta enter your passwords." You enter it, and that's not it. It's been the password ever since we've been here. They ended up getting it straightened out.

    When the service guy came, he was telling us that we had to sign a contract for two years. And after two years, if we make our payments on time, we could request for them to give us a discount, which was a nice little piece of information because it's not advertised. So, when the time came, I was on the phone with them and they took out $10 for the same service. It was the customer appreciation for being with them, which was very nice.

    ADT has been great. Something happened where the internet had to be reset and we weren't able to set up the Ring. ADT was good about walking us through how to do it. There's been a couple of times where one of the sensors fell off in the garage and the techs came free of charge and fixed that. So, they've been there for us. The sensors are glued and they have to connect, and sometimes they get a little loose because the garage door opens and closes. So, it's understandable. But the tech told us where to look and see where the sensors were if it happened again because it was a simple thing. When they were setting up the system, they asked us what we wanted to name all the rooms and that was helpful too. They were polite, on time and fast. They gave us information about all the different things they offer and how many cameras we could have but they weren't pushy.

    The only issue I have is the system itself because it's battery operated. Years ago, we always had a wired system. My husband and I are older now, and it's harder for us to reach if a battery does need to be replaced. But ADT doesn't wire them anymore like they used to. The last time, the guy was here because I couldn't get the battery to work. I tried to replace one and couldn't, so we went a few months without it. I got a service guy to come, and he replaced it for us, and we paid for him to replace all the batteries in all of our devices, like in our panel, and outside the thing, our glass break alarm, and at the doors. So, we could have it all replaced and maybe they won't go out for a good long while now. The guy was very knowledgeable and helpful. I like the app. We use that too in case we get off somewhere and realize we want to check if we set it or not. I feel more secure.

    My mother was living by herself, so I got ADT for her. We've had it for eight years. After she passed away, I got the house and put it in my name. I really believe in the product and it's always worked well for me. It gives me peace of mind. I live in a rural area and it's very isolated. Whenever I've had a problem, they've been most accommodating. Sometimes I have to stay on the phone line a little bit longer than I want, but they'd never hang up until they've got me satisfied, and I really appreciate that.

    I'm not a techno-savvy person, but they explained it to me and walked me through it and they're always helping me if I need help on the telephone. They have helped me several different times, do things I didn't think I could do. One time, the clock wasn't working right. They helped me fix that. They shared a video with me to do something else. I'm not much of a YouTuber, but I was able to follow that. If I can do it, anybody can do it. ADT is something that I will never be without. The peace of mind that it gives you is priceless. It's given me independence since I'm here by myself. And I would highly recommend it to anybody. It's a great deterrent to crime.

He considered our time, was considerate of our home, explained things and answered questions. I've been pleased with everything.     ADT home security is the worst. Their customer service is horrible and they will steal from you and if your home is being broken into they don’t show up. Trust me it’s so bad! Be aware! SimpliSafe is much better.

    I bought a house 3 years ago and took over the existing ADT alarm system from the previous owner. The salesperson on the phone repeatedly assured me this agreement was a 2-year contract. Today, I am moving out of my house and tried to cancel what now appears to be a 5-year contract. The only way to cancel is to pay for 75% of the remainder of the contract! Or transfer it to my new property: not doable as I am moving out of the country. The woman on the phone was rude. Really rude. She did mention that the 75% cancellation was to cover the cost of the equipment: wrong! The equipment was already in the house when I bought it. Notwithstanding the fact that, last night, we had the wind blow up a door while we were out. The alarm went off. No one called to find out what happened. Ever. They provide the worst possible service out there and try to hold you at gunpoint when you want to leave them.

    My daughter's having some medical problems and last week, she had fallen. She tried to call ADT and her bracelet wasn't working. It was a new one and she had just gotten it when I got mine. And she couldn't get through to ADT, so she called 911. The fireman came, helped her up, and checked her vitals to make sure she was okay and didn't need to go into the hospital. Other than that, ADT always let me know if something's going on with her. She lives about seven miles from me and she lives alone. I also like having both of the medical alert bracelet and the home security system with ADT at my house because I'm up a lot in the night to go to the bathroom and such. I'm 87 years old and I'm always aware I could fall.

I had ADT implemented. I didn't want a whole bunch of technology. I wanted to make sure that when we left the house, we could arm the system. When we would be away, we would set the alarm. Even if the Meals On Wheels people would knock on the door accidentally, it would go off. At night when we were sleeping and any breaches happened, it would alarm. That was what we wanted and that was what we got. It is very sufficient. We were well pleased with the protection that ADT provided for us and still provides for us. When the last guy came, he was telling me that I definitely could get some upgrades if I wanted them but and I still don't really want them at this time.

    ADT is very recognizable and they've got a presence on the media, which is excellent. They have good spokespeople and that's important to separate themselves from those that haven't been in the business as long. They're doing a great job and I've never had the feeling that I wasn't choosing someone or some company to protect my property. I've never had to question them. We've had ADT in two locations and they've always been really great. Customer service is first class. Everyone understood my concerns and was very capable of taking care of my concerns.     Spoke with 6 different representatives, none of them were able to help me, they kept transferring me and after an hour and half waiting to be attended they hang up on me. Two month ago I requested a cancelation and they told me that we needed to pay the equipment and the cancelation fee before canceling. They send us the invoice and we paid it in full and requested the cancelation. They did not proceed my cancelation but 2 month later I received another bill saying that I was late for my monthly payments... now they want me to pay for a service that I never used because the person that supposed to process the cancelation never did it.     We had issues with the battery and we had ADT replace it in the control panel. They were responsive but we were a little bit disappointed that we had to pay $55 for the service call when it wasn't made clear that's what we would have to pay. The unit should have been under warranty. The system should be armed automatically without any delay time. If you're staying, it should just set automatically and if you're in the house and it's going off, you want to know it instantly, not 30 seconds later, if you're waking up. It’s the only mysterious thing about the system that I don't get.

    I’ve had ADT for over 18 years and I have an old package so I don't have many modern things. I'm the old-fashioned one, which is just to have protection and security in my house. But the techs updated the gadget on my wall. Another time, they changed batteries and things for me. But ADT charged me $25 for the call. The techs were very nice. I always had very good personnel. I had difficulty with money at one time and called ADT and I said I couldn't afford them anymore, and they were very nice to lower the rate for me so I could keep them.

    It's been a great experience with ADT. We had brand-new windows put in last fall, and because we have the magnets in the windows, I called ADT, and they came out and put new wireless transmitters on the sliders at no charge to us. We used to have a landline in the kitchen, and then we moved to just cordless phones. So, we had to have a new phone line run for that. But, that was inevitable. It wasn't ADT's fault. The two times we've had techs out here, they've both been great.

    I feel very secure with ADT. We've had them for 24 years, and if we had a product issue with the system, they've been quick to come out and fix it and they monitored. In fact, today they called and said on their monthly test they didn't get it to go through, but that's because I work from home and my wife's retired, so the doors were open, so the system wouldn't test.

    ADT is horrible. They have the worst customer service and are way more expensive than other home security companies. Their system are complicated and you can't get anything fix without them charging you a lot of money. You can even cancel your service on line and you are always on hold waiting to speak with someone. I wish I could rate them to zero.

    Cancelling ADT service is impossible. The agents are trained (from India) to pass you around with call hold times of 2.5 hours. It's a total SCAM. I've spent 2 days, and hours of call time with several numbers to call and can't cancel. Total ** fraud.

    I bought a house, the previous owner had ADT system in the house. I figured I give them a try. The sales agent came in my house, sat on my sofa and pretty much lied to our faces. What we signed up for was not what the field agent came to set up. Because they already had our CC info they charged our card twice, once when we signed up then again during installation. That was Thursday 7/6/23. I have 3 days to cancel without fee.

    I called Thursday 7/6 and they promised a call back, they never called. I called On Friday 7/7, same thing. I was advised someone from the cancelation team will call back. I never got a call. I called Monday 7/10 at 12 noon and they advised it was escalated and someone will call me back, asap. It's 5pm and still no callback. I called again and they transferred me to the cancellation team, I have been on hold for over 30 mins. The worst customer service experience ever! Stay away, stay away.

    Beginning to take review writing seriously and conducting them more. I had ADT service for 2 years now and the past 4 weeks experienced malfunctioning cameras. (Not good for a truck driver who is gone frequently) So I initially called to cancel only to be told I’m under contract. Nevermind that they charged me more than I agreed to pay or the equipment was not working properly. But I before the rep said give us an opportunity to make it right and send a tech out free to resolve the issue just wanted to end the relationship. Reluctantly I agreed but you know the window they give you always has the person showing up at the end. 12-4 they said. I called at 10:15a and said, "Can you please see if the technician will be around noon or closer to 4? I can finish my job and then wait for him with no problem." “We have no way to reach him.”

    I said, "Please do something because I know he’s going to arrive at the last minute and have me frustrated I could have finished work earlier." Technician calls at 3:10 and is 30 minutes away. (Imagine) If the alarm goes off you get an individual immediately, if you have a need for sales to add more product, immediately, if you make a payment yup right there…but if you need to complain or cancel you're waiting 45 minutes or longer and getting fumed! If you schedule a service call you also have to wait until the end of the window.

    So July 3rd the tech temporarily fixed my camera only for me to call every day afterwards and eventually sit on the phone another hour wasting time only to be told because I’m canceling due to lack of service and proper working equipment you are stuck with a cancellation fee. Says so much about the integrity and ethics of ADT. Take this with you even though we failed to meet our standards. As long as we get ours we don’t care what happens to you. Pathetic and sad! Take the above under strong consideration before entering into any agreement with them. If they don’t provide you with what they commit to they will use a contract to compel you to stay. Regardless of how much time you lose from work or wait for someone to show up. Choose wisely.

    ADT is the only company I know of that does not respect military PCS orders for active duty families. I have never had issues with terminating contracts early with any other entity except for ADT. The Servicemembers Civil Relief Act has typically and generously been applied to contracts that are tied to a specific home address, allowing us leeway when we are ordered by the government to move to a new base. ADT has taken the position that the spouse, children, and other dependents of active duty military members may "choose to stay" or "separate" from the person who is ordered to leave, meaning that they are not obligated to terminate the contract for the home security system.

    I have never heard this disaffected, uncompassionate logic used before. Our family will not be separating in order to maintain our contract with ADT at the address we purchased it for. I don't think I need to delve further into how detached from reality this policy is, and how legally untenable this position may be in the face of a large number of military families who have also been subject to ADT's insistence on wringing out fees from those who are serving this country. An incredibly disappointing and unfortunate stance for a company to take. I wonder if anyone in a higher up position has considered the optics of this?

    I was installed 05.26.23. System has not been functional since installation, a total of 3 tech came out following up with 20 plus calls to ADT customer services etc. I have got nowhere.     The customer service has been horrible to work with. There's a 6 month money back guarantee that they tell you about but they do not let you get out of the contract if the cameras aren't working because that is not a part of the "security system." ADT is not at all concerned with the quality of their service and security. Their only goal is to lock you into a contract to make you pay thousands of dollars with zero care about your customer experience. Dealing with ADT has felt like a total scam! STAY AWAY!     UPDATED 07/06/2023: Interesting that after placing a negative review the company is quick to publish a response acting like they really care. Unfortunately and not really surprising, the reply comes from someone by the name of Marzen and also provided an address to CHAT and a phone number to call Marzen. Problem is the contact info provided are the main numbers and no way to contact this person that I suspect is nothing more than a creative marketing ploy to make you think they actually care.

    ORIGINAL REVIEW: ADT talks a good game as on the surface it appears it checks all the boxes we were looking for. The biggest problem is if/when your home looses power and WI-FI is no longer available, EVERY device that uses WI-FI will automatically reconnect when the power is restored EXCEPT the ADT system. According to ADT the ONLY way to reconnect is to do a reboot from the panel. But what if you’re not home? The mobile app which offers very basic features is also NOT capable of performing a remote boot. The system really does not stand up to expectations and we are looking for a replacement. Guess we will just eat the $600 installation charges.

    As a newly single mother, I purchased the 4 camera home security system because I thought it would help me feel safe alone with my children at night. I purchased the 4 camera system so it’s not an inexpensive system and cost thousands of dollars with installation. They did what they had to do with installing it, electuario and camera setup and then about 4 months later, one and then a second camera went down. It has been now over two years and the cameras are still down. I have been paying the monthly service for 4 cameras, not 2.

    The serviceman has come multiple times but when I call for a follow-up, there were no initial notes attached to my account so I had to keep repeating my issue. Finally, I got a hold of my original salesman (who was so terrific that I thought ADT, the company, was likewise terrific-boy, was I wrong!). He tried to find out what the issue was and it turns out that I now have to pay several thousand dollars to reinstall my cameras!

    Bottom line, they’re great when they’re selling you something but are slow for a resolution to an issue and have no problem billing you for the fix while still billing you for the complete service (4 cameras) that you’re not even getting (only see 2). They said they would partially refund the monthly payments once they resolved the issue. So I basically have to pay thousands of dollars to get a refund of a couple of hundred dollars? Nice deal!

    My advice: You better be part electrician or have a friend that can verify the installation or you’ll have to pay for it again later. The run-around is meant for you to give up or give in, but either way, ADT wins. I don’t usually write negative reviews but this was such an obvious abuse that I felt I couldn’t let someone else get taken advantage in the same way. I've been just counting the days to when I can cancel my contract because you’re not allowed to end it sooner than what you signed up for, even if you’re not satisfied and not getting what you paid for.

    This customer service is the WORST. I have waited over 90 minutes on the phone with customer service. When I do talk to someone they barely speak English. You get sent around to a new person each time you need to provide your information again (which I understand) but it winds up taking hours to resolve the matter. On multiple occasions I have had to have technical support because my system was down. They tried to tell me it was my responsibility to pay for a technician to come out, when it was THEIR product that was not working. Getting on the phone with someone is impossible, and every time something is broken it is somehow the customer's responsibility to pay to fix it.

    I have NEVER been more dissatisfied with a company before. The only way to get anything resolved is to NOT pay your bill. I will be cancelling the second my contract (which I was never informed I was under for the time period I am) is up. I hope no one gets this service and at this point I am just paying to have the ADT signs up in my yard because what do you know, my system has not been working for months which I have been paying for. SUCH A SCAM.

    I have been with ADT four years, had to cancel due to a quick move and will not be moving into new home for a couple of weeks, called customer service (held on for approximately 48 minutes), got someone on line, he transferred me again another 11 minutes. Finally got Kyle on line, was informed of $275 cancel fee. Kyle says just ignore bill & when you get new address they will waive the fee. Whaaat?! This is how they trap you in these ridiculous contracts. I would rather pay the fee and never use their service again. My service was subpar at best, doorbell cam was always offline, customer support was always so busy and good luck getting a call back. Do better ADT. Lots of great competitors out there.

    First, ADT locks you into a long term contract (3 yrs). Then they give you subpar equipment. If there's any issues with the equipment, you are charge a service fee to have the equipment looked and and another fee to have "new" equipment installed. Even though it is their faulty equipment, you still pay fee(s) for the fixes. ADT's cameras do not always catch/record activity occurring, as they should. As a current customer, I would HIGHLY advise looking elsewhere for home security needs as there are less expensive and much better options. I look forward to my contract ending with ADT so I can move on to a better company.

    I signed up for this service because I was spending a lot of time working on the road and felt the need for the extra security because I house is not in a high population area and it would be easy for someone to break in. When they came out and set up the system for a 3 year contract, they did not tell me that they were going to install a product that would require a service call and battery replacement that would cost me over $100. I found this out when the battery on a unit that is constantly plugged in started chirping. That is when I called them and they told me the battery needed to be replaced and they would be happy to send out a technician for a fee and he could replace the dead battery for a fee. For $40 a month, that seems a bit extreme to me, but especially the part where they told me that the battery that died has a known life span of 2 years. They don't give that information before you sign with them, they just start heaping on extra charges.

    I advise you to not sign on with these thieves. There are plenty of monitoring systems that you can purchase and tie them into a monitoring system and you have control over the products you install. You know you will have to do certain things to maintain them and do not have to rely on someone being honest when all they want to do is get you on a subscription that is going to cost you much more in the long run.

    When the alarm went out accidentally, they answered it on the first four rings. Our system is antiquated. It hasn't been upgraded in 30 years. But anything that upgrades means increased costs, and ADT has been pretty good about maintaining the cost that I had because I've been a customer of theirs for 30 years. Whenever they increase my rates, I call them and ask them to maintain the existing rates, and they do so, and I pay my bill on time.

    I accidentally hit the panic alarm one time as I was leaving. It was a silent alarm, so it wasn't ringing. So when I went back out here, there was the police coming. ADT called me and I told them I had gloves on and hit the wrong button. The police were really nice. But it was my fault entirely. When certain things has tore up, ADT will come in. Two months ago, they had to redo my garage door. They put a different system on that. The technicians were all great. But ADT doesn't have enough technicians. I had to wait close to two weeks before.

    The price was right. And there were some incentives. Everything sounded good. But since it's all wireless, there were batteries, and they go out. I called ADT. There's one battery that went out of the main panel. And it was terrible to try to change that thing out. The last screw wouldn't go in. It's working now. But I would not go back with another system like this. ADT has to come back and use all the existing wires there from the previous system.

    I'm very happy with ADT. When my main box on the wall was telling me something, I call ADT, and they walked me right through it and told me how to do it. I have another sensor by my door that I didn't know that had batteries, and evidently, one was not working. I called them, they told me what to do, walked me right through it, and I fixed it. I wouldn't have been able to do that without the help of ADT. I really like the system. Ever since I've had ADT, they've been very helpful. If you don't understand something, and something's going wrong with your box, you call them on the phone, and they're right there. They don't say they'll call you back. So, I'm happy with it. I don't anticipate changing any time soon. They're the best and I would recommend them to anybody. The cost was amazing, too. You can't beat it.

    My experience with ADT has always been very positive. My wife and I have been loyal customers of ADT for over 30 years. Whenever we reach out for assistance, everybody has been very polite, very professional, and very courteous to us. I like the support that I get and whenever we need to make a phone call. When I go on vacation, I have the app in my phone, and I can disconnect the alarm even outside of the United States, and if I have somebody come in. Right now, we have no complaints and hopefully, the service will continue as is.

    We had a situation with the app, that I had to go in and do an additional step to be able to log in, and it was because I changed my phone. I had a new iPhone, and did not recognize my new one and continued to recognize the old one because the number is the same. I called and spoke to a young man, and he was, unfortunately, not too knowledgeable. He was helpful, but not to resolve the problem.

    I tried to do it through the automated system where you type in your question and they respond, and he was not able to resolve it. I called and I got this young lady, and she was extremely helpful. She was extremely polite, very knowledgeable, and very patient with us. She worked with us for over an hour on the phone until finally we didn't have to delete. The other person was telling me to delete the phone, and I didn't wanna delete the phone. She was able to do it, and everything is working perfectly. She deserves the highest rating. She is very professional, and is really an asset to ADT.

    The tech was super helpful and cool. I was trying to fix some stuff on my own and that didn't work out so well. So, he talked me through everything.     ADT's customer service has been great. If I had a problem, they have followed up immediately. We've had one young man that has come out for a couple service calls. He has been outstanding. If we have a problem, we always hope he gets to come back because he fits in here. The only problem I have with my service package is the batteries don't last as well. We go through a lot of batteries. Also, my husband cannot hear the tone for the smoke alarm or the carbon monoxide detector. I have voiced it to ADT and they said, at this point, they do not have another product that they can issue us that would help us. Other than that, if there's been any question about anything, they have been spot-on with it. I have set the smoke alarm off, and before I could get in here to punch it off, they were right on it, calling to make sure everything's okay. I would tell others that we've had great service from ADT.

    ADT is the one out there I can depend on to help. I've had cameras throughout the years and Abraham is who I usually request to come out whenever I need service. He is excellent and everything you could dream of. One time, I had someone from customer service who was snappy. Otherwise, everyone is always very nice and helpful. I've had some false alarms where I opened the door not realizing the alarm was on, so I've called to cancel and my experience with that has always been good. Other than that, sometimes, someone will come to the door and if you don't catch it when they come, it takes a while before it's recorded and you actually see it. But it's not a big thing.

    I have been with ADT for over 17 years and the equipment in my house is worn out. The LED keypad will not display everything needed to diagnose our problem. Letters fade out and can’t make out what is on the display. Customer Service techs do NOT speak or understand English. I have an error code now and C/S has me unplug everything and when I do they put me on extended hold, I guess to call tech support in the USA, to find out what to try next. So much background noise from other people to dogs and chickens that it impossible to hear them not to mention understand them. If you're looking for a Home Security system, I STRONGLY SUGGEST LOOKING ELSEWHERE.

    My 81 Year old mother called in to ADT to cancel the service she has been using for the past 10 years. They would not allow her to cancel and would not allow her to talk to a supervisor. Now I am calling. The first time... after hitting about 10 prompts to get to the cancellation department I was disconnected. I am now calling for a second time and have been on hold for a half hour. So there are so many people calling to cancel at 8:30 on a Wednesday night it requires a 45 minute hold. So since I am going to be on hold I figured I should use this time wisely to write a review about their terrible customer service.

    My mother doesn't even use the service... She just likes it when it tells her the door is opening. $50.00/month for that??? They also will not upgraded her 10 year old equipment, and when the 10 year old equipment fails they want to charge for a visit. Well as I continue to hold... I guess I will cut and past this review to other websites. I better not get disconnected after holding all this time... and let them try to intimidate me... 'Cause you got the right one Baby!!!

    Zero stars. It took 4 hours and 4 calls to cancel service. And even though the monitor is on the fritz, cheeping loudly once per minute, and even though I have to pay for another 30 days, ADT refuses to fix it since the account is canceled. They told me to unplug it. Awful. Do not use!

    Like to say no and charge customer everything. Bad installation of door sensors. It fell off after a month. And ADT would not replace it. Video doorbell stop working after 2 months. And again they want customer to pay for replacement. They do not stand behind their product or warranty. Not to mention Ring and other competitors are 1/3 cost of ADT.

    We were customers of Ackerman Security, and were very pleased with their service before they got bought out by ADT and that is when the nightmare began. We never wanted to be with this huge corporation. We did not have a contract with ADT but they make it mandatory that you speak with their Account Management team to terminate your service. I have been attempting to cancel my service for 2 months, to no avail. Hold times exceeding 1 hour are ridiculous and intentional. Even when I requested a return call back, they get the system to call you and when you answer, you are put back on hold and waiting in a queue.

    No one else can terminate your service but this department. They will continue to bill you, despite your request to end service and will send you to a third party Collections agency. This is what I was told by a customer service representative. I am already with another home security company and still being billed by ADT. It is robbery and they should be reported.

    I will no longer stay with ADT after the terrible experience I had with their customer support. I have a small business in Raliegh, NC and the ADT motion sensor ran out of battery. I spoke with them on the phone and they sent me a new battery but I had no idea how to install it and the so-called instructions they provided me had everything but instructions on how to replace the batteries. I called ADT technical support and made me have to go back and forth with a ladder just to end up installing the battery in the wrong detector. Their walking us through the installation steps was not helpful at all especially because that motion detector required a tool we don't have to open and replace the battery.

    Then I asked the agent on the phone if I could have a tech come over to install the battery but instead, she wanted to set up a video chat with me the next morning and walk me through installing it, but that's not an option for me because I have customers coming in and out of the business and a tech would be more convenient. Anyway, the video chat did not solve the problem either and I could not get ADT to send a tech to come and install the battery. On top of that, they wanted to charge me 50-60 dollars just to have a tech come over. Not to mention I had a very difficult time setting up a MyADT account so that I can put my systems on test mode. Even when I did it my motion sensor did not appear on the MyADT website and no one from ADT could help. I will be finding a better security company and not spending one more penny on ADT!

    My mother had their system for many years, Sept 2022 equipment fails and recently they still charge for monitoring even though they admit system down, refuse to reverse charges on my 85 yr old mother, threatening collections, she and sister in law made several calls over months and me and my wife recently spent hours on the phone including 5 hrs on Wed with no result.     ADT's rep came by, started talking about the stuff that they offered, and I decided to go with it. Anything that I got from the salesman directly at the time of purchase, the equipment was free and just the service had to be paid for. And anything that I bought after he was done, I had to pay for the equipment and it was huge savings. When I first got ADT, I had everything installed. I had small issues with a couple of door sensors, and I didn't realize at the time that sometimes they use outside contractors to do their work. But the contractor that came, he came both times. Very nice guy.

    I got the motion detector inside. I added two more doors to have the trip sensors on them. I got two of the Google Nest cameras, and I got one carbon monoxide detector that's hooked up, and I went back later and bought another one. I've heard a lot of people say that the cost goes up pretty bad after a while, but, so far, mine hasn't. Also, I like the 24-hour technical support. They are top-notch compared to everything else that I've seen.

    I've had my sensors since December. Last month, it saved our lives, because we have liquid propane for our hot water heater, and there was an issue with it. It's in the basement. We got up early in the morning. I got up for a few minutes and wasn't feeling great, and the CO2 alarm went off and woke everybody in the house up. Also, ADT called my phone and my wife's phone simultaneously. And because it was a fire or CO2 life-threatening situation, they didn't wait to call. They called the fire department immediately and started repeatedly calling the person in the house until somebody answered, to make sure that everyone would get out. They got us out before the fire department even got there. For $50 a month, both my young children, my dog, and my wife are all alive today because of ADT. And it happened within less than a year of me buying the system.

    We're happy with everything about ADT. When we first got the system, we didn't have any cameras. But in our house where we are now, we have cameras so, we upgraded.     The system is easy to use. I just turn it on and off and it monitors like it's supposed to. I rarely have to do contact ADT, but when I had to do it, they took care of what I needed them to do. When the Pulse app on my phone went off, they contacted me immediately, called the police, and sent them to my home.     I haven't been satisfied with ADT. I've considered canceling, but it would be a big thing tearing out my system and putting something else in. I'm having some issues with our business account and with our home system. They make you troubleshoot on the phone all the time when they need to send a technician out. I pay them for the service and getting a ladder out and having to climb up there and do technical stuff when I don't know what they're talking about is frustrating. They also had my husband do the troubleshooting. They said "It's the box. We're gonna replace it. We'll send you a box and when you get it, call us." He got it, called them, and they told him how to plug things in. But it wasn't the box. It cost them more troubleshooting with us three times, sending out the wrong piece of equipment and sending out the wrong guy. They're not saving money. They're just frustrating their customers into buying a different system.

    When they send a tech out, half the time, it's the wrong tech. There must be no notes in the account about what kind of system that we have or what type of tech needs to come out. I wish that technicians were trained on multiple systems because we have a couple of different things going on. Then you're having to reschedule and stay home again. There was one time where we waited all day 'cause they gave us a long window, then called at the end of the window and said, "We can't make it today." I ended up speaking to a manager who contacted the technician and the technician ended up coming.

    The last time ADT was out was in July for my business. When the technician was doing the work, I had to leave before he was finished. I had no idea how the system works because he didn't have it installed yet to show me. He was adding something that was an upgrade from the way I've had it in the past. I wasn't able to know how to do anything with it. He was very polite. I've requested him to come back this time, but I didn't have the opportunity because of the long window. When he showed, it was towards the end of that and I couldn't stay till he was done. He said, "Call back if you have anything you wanna go over." I was too busy with normal work, so I never called until now we've had a couple of power outages at the office. I don't even know if the system has been working, but I've been paying for it.

    Yesterday, I was calling ADT for my office account. They asked all these security questions and I got through them. I told the rep what the problem was and she said, "I have to transfer you to this other department." That other department asked me the same questions. Why do I have to give all that information again? The rep was not polite. He finally scheduled me for a technician but was making me feel stupid. I said, "You're gonna have to change it to 10:00 to 2:00 because if the guy walks in at 4:00, I'm leaving at 4:00." The rep said, "Ma'am, I can't change that. You told me it was 10:00 to 4:00." I said, "You asked what my office hours were." He said, "The window of time that we give for a business is the window of time that the company is open." I said, "There's nobody else that's gonna be able to assist you when I leave my shift. If they come after 2:00, there could be a problem." Finally, he went back in and changed the time.

    In recent months, my batteries start failing me. I got in touch with ADT and they sent me two different types of batteries that I needed. But I have a problem since this home flooded in Harvey in 2017 and I don't know what happened with the contractor, but he covered up the area where the alarm system was. He also put caulking around the system that we got after Harvey. So I would have to cut a whole or take a razor blade or a knife and cut around that just to get inside to put the battery in. But I haven't done that as of yet because I might have to get somebody else to do it. Other than that, I haven't had a problem with ADT.

    We looked at the information and what services ADT provided, and how we could monitor and the contact. They proved themselves to be very good. I love the package. I did talk to someone about the panoramic view of a camera and the range that it can cover. I was gonna go into that without buying so many cameras. That one camera could just give you a panoramic view of an area instead of having all these cameras attached to the outside or wherever you are attaching the cameras to. I'm satisfied with what I have now as well. I was just kinda futuristically looking. As a panoramic view, a scanning of the camera, it could go back and forth if you desire to do that. You could cover more than one area in one corner versus getting many cameras to cover that area.

    As far as the ADT employees, I've had nothing but pleasant interactions with them. It's always accommodated everything I ever wanted to accomplish. They've done well with security.     When I signed up with ADT, I was told that I was gonna be getting $100 toward my bill but that never happened and that was three or four years ago. I've contacted them and told them I didn't appreciate them trying to get people to stay on but they don't come through with it. Then, a couple of months ago, they went up on my bill and automatically took it out of my account. I called them and told them I didn't authorize the payment. They apologized and went back down on my bill.

    Other than those, I really like the features of the system. Plus, if anything happened, they would call me back immediately. I put up my iron board one day and it made a loud boom, like a glass was breaking. They called me about it and the service was fine. Then, I was having trouble one time and I didn't know what was going on with it. I called and a young lady walked me through it so I can clear it up and reset it.     I would give ADT a 95% good. They used to come to our house upon request if we needed help with anything. That has ceased. It’s difficult to get a technician to come and look at anything if we're having any issues now. We also currently pay for our batteries. At one time, we didn't have to pay for the batteries. But the service from ADT, if our alarm goes off, within two minutes, we have someone that calls us to make sure everything is okay. Occasionally, we set it off ourselves. It works like it's supposed to. It is a good system and they're a good company to do business with.

    Totally messed up my order!!! Been on the phone with them to correct the problem or cancel my account and have been on the phone with ADT for a total 8 1/2 hrs!!!! Mostly on hold!!!! 8 1/2 hrs!!!! Can you do that?? I first called at 10:00 this morning and it is 6:30 now. They just keep transferring me on circles. ADT representatives have no idea how to do much!!! They are rude, argumentative, and interrupted me constantly. If they can't get an order right or even allow me to speak with anyone in the correct department, then how can they protect my home??? I'm still being transferred and it's now 7:00 pm!!

    Situation; I purchased their system with 2-day shipping because I am leaving out of town in 5 days for two weeks and need protection due to living in a bad area. 2-day shipping mind you. The representative guaranteed and promised that I would receive it Saturday, I checked my tracking and it was shipped ground and will arrive in 5 days!!! The day I have to leave... what???? I still have to install the system and set it up!!! That ain't going to work. So if anyone wants a free ADT system, it will be waiting for you outside my door for two weeks!!

    Upon trying to cancel the order or at least have them send another system overnight so that I receive it in time to install and setup, they were totally unwilling to help!! Hangups and circle jerking me!! I have wasted a complete day (9 hrs so far) and still being transferred in circles. If you value your time, call Simply Safe or an actual reputable company. ADT has no idea what's going on!! But if you do decide to call ADT be prepared to communicate in another language. I have never had such bad service in my entire life (and I mean that)!! I'm still on hold. I have gone in circles for 9 hrs now!!! It is now 7:00 pm.

    They canceled my account without my consent claiming that I had called to cancel 2 months earlier because of a financial hardship. This is impossible because my payments are auto debited and I had never once missed a payment. Since I set up the service 2 yrs ago I have never once spoken to the customer service department before this issue. They told me they were going to re-instate my services and reverse the bill but lo and behold they told me that because my home was pending sale they could not re-instate it. They wanted me to pay early termination fees. After talking to 6 representatives in one day they finally assured me that it would be re-instated.

    Imagine my shock when I called to schedule termination because I finally decided not to move with them and they said my account had already been canceled. Some mistakes are unforgiveable and this is one that has not only occurred once but 3 times. They never gave me an answer as to who canceled my account or who they spoke to. They only offered a maybe someone had my online password excuse. How??? I didn't even have an online account at the time. What if someone was trying to cancel my account to rob me? How do you expect me to feel safe? Now I don't feel safe and don't want your service that you haven't even been providing but charging me for.

    We had ADT for our small business for years. When we remodeled our offices we disconnected the service from the internet. Due to the bill being on auto withdrawal ADT continued to take their monthly fees. Part of this is on us as we did not go through the steps to cancel. The crazy part, and why this review is 1 star, is no one from ADT ever reached out to say our system was offline. When we finally got around to cancelling the service they offered us a measly credit with absolutely no explanation as to how they never caught that their system was offline. When I asked how secure we were if our internet was cut and someone tried to get into the building the answer I received from multiple reps was "I can't tell you". I understand on the billing issue and that is on us as a company, but it blew my mind that a security company could not tell me why us being offline was never flagged in their system.

    ADT provides the basics and that’s all I need. It meets all my standards. I just have the panel. I have one sensor by my front door and sensors with the windows and the door. In general, I feel safer, with the exception of one issue going on with updating my contact information. One time, when my alarm went off, I never received the call. Then, it bypassed me. The police came out to my property and called my mom, and freaked her out. Some interfaces also weren't communicating. It was changed in one place but not the other. I haven't had my alarm trigger in maybe six months. So, hopefully, it has been resolved.

    When I had to add someone else's code to the system, I called and the reps walked me right through. They stayed on the line while I did it and checked it. The system works and that's all I care about. We added cameras, too, and I got them through Ring. Just a security system isn't enough, so I've got as much as I can do rather than having armed guards in here. All in all, I’d tell people to use ADT. They have a good system.

    Back when I had a flood in my house, my power went out on the monitor, so ADT had to change the battery on that. I was pleased the day the rep came out to service and put the new battery in. She was very cordial, polite and on time, and the PR skills are right there. She showed me what to do to keep the use of the battery down, and now I have it darker versus having it lit all the time on the monitor. That'll save me on my battery usage. I also needed to have the things in the front yard replaced, because one was broken off due to either the wind or bad weather or my yard guy. ADT has worked out fine for me, but I wish it was a little cheaper. The cost is steep because I'm a divorced person, just myself, and I was hoping I'd get a senior citizen discount being 64 years old.

    We've had great service and we've had them since 2000. They always respond. Even on a couple of occasions when our dog set the alarm off, they were really good about understanding that and making sure the police were not called. When the battery went out on our control panel and they got the battery out a day early than they said it would. Our bill comes out automatically out of our account and we don't have any issues.

    ADT is not that expensive and the monitoring is excellent. They do a great job and I would choose them over Ring. A lot of those systems can be hacked and from what I've been told, it's very hard to hack the actual ADT system.

    The sales representative with ADT was great. I’m 90% satisfied with the system. It makes me feel secure that I have a system at the house and if something happens, someone will respond right away. On my back sliding door, it has the sensor if the glass shatters. I love that. I also love that they have the CO2 component. But I am not a huge fan of the price difference in comparison to others. Also, 30% of the time, there are glitches in the system. It disconnects from the internet or the screen stops working and someone has to come take a look at it. Then you're charged because the screen stopped working. I only bought the system a year ago. I shouldn't be paying to have somebody come if the screen stops working. They try and talk you through it, but it's not a simple system.

    I had some issues with the patent alarm, and I was upset, so I discontinued. The contractor that came to fix it for me didn't do what he was supposed to do. But I picked it back up once crime started to come back again. I spoke about getting cameras that Saturday, and that following Monday, my home was invaded. I didn't get it done that Saturday because I didn't know what would happen. The angle that the camera is on is the angle where my doorbell was. And that's where I was told the invaders had to come from. The crazy part about getting it set up through ADT was that there were these extra fees I would have to pay. So, I went directly to Ring and paid up for a year. Now I'm with ADT. But I pay a lot.

    I have one camera and it's only showing my front doorstep. I can't see my driveway. I can see across the street. But the lag time was not big when my neighbor's car, a month and a half ago, was taken out of her driveway. It didn't pick up on mine. But my son came out, saw something I couldn't see, which is odd. And we're in the same house, same WiFi, same system. And he got on after me in terms of access. I now have signs now that say security if that will help.

    We live in an old town and it's a very suspect area. There has been crime out here. It was not too bad, but still, it's good to have assurance and safety that we have the ADT system in there. Customer service was very professional. I have one positive experience with ADT. We have a brand-new gas stove. Something wasn't covering what we put on there that should have been that's inside the oven base. It covered up one of the vents. We had a leakage and that was very small one. But the sensors picked it up and ADT called the fire department. This was about 12 o'clock at night. The leakage was nothing life threatening but it could have been. The system was a lifesaver.

    ADT was quick with installation. I have Ring also and I have a problem with them. Every time I leave my home for more than 24 hours, the ring system defaults. When I call and say my camera is not working, they say that I have to be home to reboot. But I can't be home to reboot and reboot as I'm in Europe. Thank God I have ADT. So, I rely on ADT for my alarm system, not Ring.

    We built our home in 1954 and had ADT installed right away. We've had it ever since. I turn it on when I leave and turn it off when I come home, but sometimes I mess up. Other than that, the system protects my home. I've thought about calling them and asking them about a camera, but I haven't. I also thought about a new doorbell and cameras coming together because my doorbell is behind my stairway, and when I'm upstairs, I can't hear it.

    The techs have always been very nice, and I have not had a bit of trouble with them ever. Sometimes, they would come and bring one of the little monitor things. Every now and then I set the system off when I drive in the garage and do the wrong thing, and ADT calls immediately to see if anything's wrong. That's great to know, because something could be even though it hasn't been like that. I rely on ADT because every time I leave the house (if I go to dinner or go shopping), I turn it on for any length of time, and the house is safe, as long as the police don't wait to come. It's not ADT’s fault.

    I wish I could leave NEGATIVE STARS. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! I had a technician come to my house last week and he stole a $5100 item from my closet (the closet he was working in). What has ADT done to help? Absolutely nothing. They have DODGED my calls at all costs. Not a single person has called me back. I know that I will never see this item again but my concern is for the safety and well being of other customers who have a THIEF coming into their homes. The individual is still working today, going into other people's homes, stealing god knows what. It is just incredible that I pay a SECURITY company to protect my house and make us feel safe, yet we are feeling more vulnerable than ever. They clearly could not care less about who they are sending into people's homes. I have been dealing with this since Saturday and not a peep from ADT.

    Updated on 05/16/2023: They wanted to keep the process private. Not going to happen. I tried to work with ADT for almost a year. After posting this review in as many places as I could they now want to save face. They sent a letter saying they'll refund me $70 (I lost well over $800). They "found" my THIRD attempt to cancel in November 2022. What about my attempts in June or September??? No. This is completely unacceptable.

    This company refused to cancel my service despite being outside of the contract window. I had to make 4 different attempts to cancel my monitoring services over the course of 10 months. They continued to charge me and each attempt was met with incompetent reps that seemed to be reading from prompt cards instead of helping me with the issue. Long conversations with redirection and excuses on why they can't do anything with reassurances that this time it will be different. Once the company actually cancelled my service I was told I needed to pay 95$ to bring everything current and it would be done. No.

    4 months later I receive a collection notice for $85. ADT will continue to charge you and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. There's no action you can take. If you are currently a customer then when you go to cancel don't do it over the phone. Do it over email so there is a paper trail and you can substantiate your claim. I lost over $700 to this company plus several $25 returned payment charges due to someone changing my bank information when I first called to cancel. I just paid the collection and pray that this nightmare is over.

    Ordered ADT for my investment property (Airbnb) and had issues with my locks. The locks would work when trying to lock the door. Called to inform ADT and they sent out a technician out. The technician replaced the lock and reprogrammed it. The lock worked for a few days and started not working again. We called ADT, they sent another person who said the lock needed programming again. This process lasted for months with the door getting jammed a couple months and ADT were persistent with sending a technician. Today, a technician came and informed my housekeeper that unless she paid a $59 fee up front (that no one ever mentioned) they wouldn’t fix the locks. The housekeeper called me and told me ADT left and actually didn’t resolve the issue.

    Soon after, someone walked in my home, stole things and left. The cops were called and it’s an ongoing investigation but this issue never would’ve occurred if ADT fixed my locks (that they were responsible for; that never worked). I reached out to ADT's presidential Executive Response Team & Resolution Social Media Specialist and received a response from Eileen L. W stating this exact message (copy & paste).

    “Good Afternoon, We're very sorry to hear of the issue with your door lock and to hear of your break in! We do see that the technician was onsite as of this morning, but the trip fee was refused, so the technician was unable to assist in repairing the device. May we clarify when the break in occurred and if the authorities have been notified? ADT would be happy to have a technician come out to the home to address any concerns you may be experiencing with the door lock but the $59.00 trip fee is a valid charge due at the time of the service appointment.

    An issue with the door lock would not prevent the alarm system from functioning appropriately as the door lock is not a part of the ADT alarm services. Best Regards, Eileen L. W.     The installation was simple. It got done swiftly. I had to have ADT come out and put more systems in. They were very efficient. It took a short time. I love putting the system on at night and feeling secure. I live isolated. And the peace of mind is just perfect. The only time I use the phone app is I turn it on at night and off in the morning.     When I had a situation over here last year, there was a guy who drove to my property, took out all my utilities, and burned out a lot of my appliances and technical stuff. I called up ADT and had them replace the circuit board and the control pad. They gave me the Pulse one and it lowered my rate. Their customer service has been been great, too. The tech who set up my new system was awesome. He gave me his cellphone number and told me to text or call him if there's any problem. The monthly monitoring cost has gone up $10 over the last eight years, but with everything else in this world, everything goes up occasionally. Other than that, people recognize the ADT sign sitting on my front lawn and that's a good security measure because they're not going to try to break in if there's an alarm.

    We always set our ADT security system when we leave the house, and disconnect it before we come in. We have it on the app on our phone so it makes it easy to get in and out without setting it and running out the door, so I like that feature. We know the house is protected when we're away.     I’ve been with ADT for so long. We went to an event and they had a tent going on. We set up a meeting from there and they hooked up the system. At that time, they had the installation going on for free. The package I got came with a sensor on every window and every door. There was a keypad too. They gave me three yard signs and a couple of stickers for the doors. So far, I've had minimum false alarms and this is maybe from opening the wrong door. Other than that, I was completely satisfied with my purchase. Having a security system is very important as there are so many things happening. Definitely get ADT.

    ADT connects with the police. With them, it's something with the doors, somebody trying to go around on my house, and they see that somebody is not me, the police will call me and ADT will send me alert on my phone or call me asking me if they see something around. But I have issues with ADT, because I called the company, and the employees did not help me in the right way. I needed a new battery for my service. They sent me the batteries, but they told me I was the one to install. But it's difficult for me to install the batteries in my monitor. Other than that, ADT is the best service for alarm. I have two services in my house and I recommended my granddaughters for ADT.

    ADT came with the property I bought The contract for ADT is for three years which makes it a little difficult 'cause you have to stay with them. I had a few issues and their customer service was so-so. One negative experience is that the property has a security system and a camera system and I can't link both of them under the same email address. So, I'm able to access one but not the other because I don't think it's necessary for me to create a new email address just so I'm able to look at the CCTV. Even if they are still through ADT, they're considered two separate services.

    Also, I had an issue with the system panel screen which was frozen. The instruction they provided to remove the backup battery was not clear. When I spoke to them, they had to escalate it to another department and I had to wait for a callback. Other than that, the home security system is very generic, basic and easy to use.

    We've got two systems with ADT. They're a little bit different, but they both work great. We've got one that talks to us and we like it a little bit better. It's the newest of the two. The upgrade went well. They came in and changed the telephone connection to a cell phone connection. We had them add some window sensors and that worked out well too. We've had a couple of false alarms and the police department got there in a hurry. We are glad the system works as well as it does. We can also call them up and get new signs and stickers once a year.

    I have one of those sensors from ADT on every single door and window in the entire house. I also got the small iPad thing that has all the features on it that I can turn off and on. It’s right next to my bed. Recently, my service provider for my television who handles my Wi-Fi came out and put all new equipment in and had to change the Wi-Fi password. I called ADT because I had no idea how to do that and there was a very nice young lady. It took an hour, but it wasn't her fault. It was a tedious thing and she walked me right through it.     I have the door sensors and carbon monoxide detector from ADT and they all work great. The technical support's very polite, too. It doesn't take them any time to do what I need them to do. They've walked me through whatever is going on. A friend's daughters were here one weekend and they had left the front door ajar. When I went to work on Monday, I went out through the garage. The wind eventually pushed one door in and set it off. The police officer was here. He checked the bottom door and it was unlocked. I was worried about a break-in, but it was because I didn't have everything secure. I tried to tell ADT that I don't think it was anything to worry about. But they were already en route. The police officer was here waiting for me.

    I also had a carbon monoxide issue. I was running a car in the garage, and then I left the utility door to the garage cracked. It took an hour for it to creep in and set the sensor off. Immediately, they deployed a fire truck here. They were getting ready to breach the window because they couldn't get anything. I did the same thing another time too. At that point, I told ADT, “Do not notify anyone. I got it covered.” But I still wound up with the same amount of emergency vehicles here. All I wanted to do was borrow a meter from up the road at the fire station but they had to come down.

    I purchased a new system from them. I have had ADT security for years but decided to upgrade. One of my cameras/floodlights does not work. The call in customer support has been terrible except for one individual. They have been out already and replaced the camera only. Now I find out that they should have replaced the entire floodlight. Time off work and unknowledgeable customer support. Starting to wish I would have gone to another brand.

    Just had my ADT Home Security System at a second home send an alert that my hallway alarm was activated. I called ADT to investigate what was being done in response to the alarm. I waited for the 'next available' for several minutes. ADT said the police had been notified and would respond. IF there was a problem, the police would call ADT. However, if it was determined that it was a false alarm, the responding police WOULD NOT notify ADT. We could assume everything was secure. NO ONE WOULD LET US KNOW ANYTHING. ADT said we could call the police and inquire if we wanted a definitive answer. The police said they considered the call of an activated alarm a low priority and would send a unit when one became available. What a colossal waste of money!!! ADT is fired... They sell a line of snake oil. Sounds great, but does nothing.

    Have been trying to cancel service since beginning of March 2023. I was told by JOEL that it was being cancelled and that was March 28th but they continue to take payments out of my account. There is not enough space on this page to tell you my experience. All I can say is stay away from this company. We went back and forth trying to get them out to take care of a problem but was unsuccessful. Try living 23/7 with a loud noise from the system every 2 minutes and no one would even help me over the phone to try to cut it off. But still collecting money. PLEASE stay away from the company.

    The gentleman that did the installation explained everything to me. He recommended I get the smoke alarm and the monoxide detector which I did. I've got regular smoke detectors in all my other rooms, but in the main dining area, we put it because that's throughout the house. He was very helpful and polite. He showed me how to use it and how to key stuff in. ADT offered to send a technician out before, and I said, "We're living way out here. If there's something they can walk me through on the phone and see if we can get this reset, I have no problem doing it if they have patience to tell me how to do it." A gentleman came on the tech line and walked me through, and we were able to reset it and get that beeping to stop.

    ADT is on top of things. If that alarm goes off, before I can get the phone, I know they're calling me and they are right there. I feel a little secured with the coverage that I have. When my alarms go off because it's my own fault, I call them, and they just laugh and ask, "Are you sure you don't need anything?" They're always helpful. If I have a question, they explain some of the things. I had a defective battery and it would just go off. I'm a light sleeper, so those chiming, ringing noises in the night would wake me up. They sent me a brand-new battery.

    I'm happy with ADT. It has saved us a couple of times. I feel a whole lot more secure having it as opposed to not having it. I like the fact it's outside the windows. If anyone tries to break in that way, I like it that they have that extra feature there. The camera does a good job. If I had more money, I would invest in getting another camera for around my garage. But for now, I know who's coming to the door and who has been there.

    I still get confused on pushing the right buttons to arm it when we're not home. We pushed the wrong button and the cops came out almost immediately. However, lately, ADT has been a little bit slow about wanting to come out and and change the batteries. I'm not in the physical condition to climb up on a ladder and take them down. Last time I called them, they said they'd come out again, but it was the last time they'd come out to change the batteries because they're short-manned. I pay for their time when they come out, but if they are to discontinue that service, I'm afraid I might have to figure out a way or hire somebody to come in to change the batteries.

    I've been with ADT house after house. When I came to this house, we brought them here and we've never had an issue. We can call them 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and they've always been there. They're very polite, and everything they've committed to do, they've done and above. Everything works fine.     These people prey on the fears of their customers. That’s fine in so far as it motivates you to buy into their business model. The part that makes this company so insidious is the way they handle their business model. They lock you into a contract and won’t let you out of it without paying off the entire thing. To make matters worse, you can’t request to not have the contract renewed. You have to remember to call a short time prior to its renewal in order to ensure that it won’t renew. Even then, you better check the day or two before to make sure it wasn’t “missed”.

    Another terrible feature of how this company conducts its business is that the customer service is pretty atrocious when you call with equipment issues. When the equipment continues to malfunction, they threaten a fee for having someone come out. If their employee can come out and fix it, they’ll charge you a fee for having them come even if you went through the process of troubleshooting on the phone. We haven’t even had our cameras operational in a year because, in all honesty, it’s just not worth it.

    Lastly, trying to cancel your contract is an exercise in patience. They will ask you an excessive amount of times “why” and “how can we keep you”. Despite repeatedly saying, “I just don’t need the service”, the process took forever. For some reason, they needed to route me from one department to another while leaving me on hold for up to an hour or longer in between transfers. I’ve rarely dealt with a more horrible business and I strongly encourage anyone who is considering ADT to really consider if their need for security is worth the hassle. I wish I had read a review like this before I went with them. It would have saved me thousands of dollars and a world of stress.

    The guy that hooked my ADT system did well. When I go to bed at night, I don't have to worry about things. I live in a decent area.     Sometimes the main camera doesn't pick up everything that comes to the door. I had somebody ring the push button the other day and we kept looking and looking to see who it was. They dropped a package, but it never recorded when it came up. But it recorded me when I went up. I contacted ADT to do a troubleshoot. They did a troubleshoot over the phone. But it's the same thing. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it takes a few seconds or a few minutes before it shows anything. But ADT is a good company. Their customer service is good.     We added the fire alarm upstairs and the interactions were fine. The installer came in, drilled the holes, stuck the thing on the roof and it was a fine deal. They helped us go through some stuff and reprogram it. We had a couple of the main batteries I had to take out and replace because I didn't know how to reprogram it. But the techs were awesome. They explained everything and were out within 24 hours of my call. The ADT system gives me the peace of mind that when I'm away from the home, the home is secure. The quality seems to be comparable with everything that's out there without making full major switches. It’s a good system. I'm happy with ADT. If the home was newer, there would probably be upgrades that I could probably do or might think about. But it's an older home with limited plug-ins and outlets, so it limits us to what we can upgrade to or use.

    We like ADT. The only issue we have is that a lot of these cordless devices that we have has low battery or no battery. So, if you need to reset the system to put it on, it doesn't work. That's a dangerous thing. When we call, the rep says, “Somebody will call you.” We had a call from somebody a month and a half ago, and that person was asking us all these questions. He said they will provide us with battery as long as we can put it in ourselves. I said, “Fine. Just send us the battery and maybe instructions how we gonna put it in, and we’ll have no problem. We'll figure it out.” He said yes, but we never received anything. Other than that, we're happy with the features of the system. The cost is reasonable and the reps have been very helpful.

    The guy from ADT came over and fooled around with the monitor and said, "We got the problem fixed." They charged me $63.13. But there was nothing wrong with my unit. He tried to tell me that the system was down. But the system wasn't down. I called ADT and they gave us a discount. Instead of $63, they are only gonna charge us $29. The billing department said, all he could do was give us a percentage. He could not give us the money back. However, when the guy was here at our house, he told me, "I will not charge you for this service call. If you see it on your bill, call the billing department, and they will go ahead and waive it." But they didn't waive anything. But I like ADT and the system. The stuff works really well.

    I like when I have a problem that I call and, the majority of the time, the persons are very helpful and gets it taken care of. Or if they don't, they explain how for me to do it. The only issue I've had is changing batteries. I was on the website and I texted, and the rep led me through. The lady was very kind and patient with me. I have the door and I'm able to turn it on and off. For example, I got some pets and, when I'm out of town and they come take care of them, they are able to call and tell me that they're on their way and I can turn it off from wherever I am and turn it back on. I've been on a cruise and I got a very sick family member that I went to, and a lot of times I don't have my phone so I could call and ADT changes it to the police department.     The equipment has worked. I had a phone call one time at 4:00 in the morning. They picked up on a loud noise and reported it to the police. Also, one time, I made a mistake when I forgot that I had armed it and came in. They called me and asked me the appropriate questions. But one time, someone said they needed to upgrade the system to a 5G and I gave them a time and date. Come that time, nobody called me to say they're on their way. I called ADT and they said they have nothing in their system and that I was already 5G from two years ago. Other than that, ADT has been fine with me. It’d be nice if the rate was a little lower but my peace of mind has been fine for the last seven years.

    They had a rep come and he looked at what we needed. The installer went over the things and we understood them. He made sure we were able to work the units before we left. He said if we had any problem, we could call him. When we call, they usually take care of the issue and walk us through pretty well. ADT is outstanding. They're always right on the phone, making sure we know what's going on.

    My old cameras were okay, but the upgrade to the Google Nest cameras is significantly better. I can zoom in better, and the clarity and facial recognition have improved. The app is good too. It’s just ADT needs to get the combo done where the Google Nest and the other cameras are all on the app. They said it is coming. It's just not complete yet.

    Initially, the cost was a little high in terms of overall monthly from my old plan, but after I worked with ADT, I got it to a reasonable number. Also, the quality has been good beyond that, so I have no complaints. ADT has been responsive if I called them for anything, and I can fix most things if there's an issue right on my computer. The technology that way is good.
