We had a series of break-ins in our neighborhood. The last straw was my neighbor right beside me was broken into. That's when I decided it was time for me to get an alarm. My neighbors have ADT and they told me they were satisfied with it. I got it too and I am 100% satisfied. I have any possible entry sensors and the smoke alarm and they're functioning perfectly. ADT is easily accessible and they have knowledgeable representatives. They have a rapid response to an alarm. When I had the battery of the window sensor go dead, I called ADT and a tech came and fixed it. I’m much more at ease with the system in place.

I filled out an inquiry about a home system and stated that I wanted to be contacted by email. Within two seconds after completing the inquiry an agent called me. I told the agent that I needed to be contacted by email. The agent refused to hang up until I had to hang up on her. I told her I did not have time to talk. She kept going.

The guy that hooked my ADT system did well. When I go to bed at night, I don't have to worry about things. I live in a decent area. I live in a bi-level house with basement windows that somebody could smash in. Everything's good with me now. The only thing is I don't carry my fob with me anymore. One day I set the alarm and I went to work. When I was driving on my way, ADT called me and asked if I was okay because my alarm went off. I must have touched my panic thing on the fob. One other time after I got the system put in, I went down to my basement, the basement door into my garage, up the garage door, and took the garbage out. I was standing out there talking to a neighbor when the police showed up. When I opened my basement door, the alarm went off and I didn't hear it because I was outside. It couldn't have been more than five minutes that the alarm went off at the most.

Sometimes the main camera doesn't pick up everything that comes to the door. I had somebody ring the push button the other day and we kept looking and looking to see who it was. They dropped a package, but it never recorded when it came up. But it recorded me when I went up. I contacted ADT to do a troubleshoot. They did a troubleshoot over the phone. But it's the same thing. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it takes a few seconds or a few minutes before it shows anything. But ADT is a good company. Their customer service is good. I might renew my contract with them when it comes up.

ADT is a great system and we will continue to have it whether it's here or in some future home. The entire system, both, technical and personal, works very well. It's a fair price for the quality given. Their customer service, whenever there's an issue or a problem, is very understanding, knowledgeable, and responsive. They also came out and we upgraded the system with the new touchscreen control panel. They did a thorough job. A few months ago, the voice activation, when you open the door said, "Slider open." The voice activity was not working. When I called and talked to an associate, they very easily and quickly guided me right through, going through the tools and all the rigmarole that you go through in resetting the system and it's worked fine since.

We added the fire alarm upstairs and the interactions were fine. The installer came in, drilled the holes, stuck the thing on the roof and it was a fine deal. They helped us go through some stuff and reprogram it. We had a couple of the main batteries I had to take out and replace because I didn't know how to reprogram it. But the techs were awesome. They explained everything and were out within 24 hours of my call. The ADT system gives me the peace of mind that when I'm away from the home, the home is secure. The quality seems to be comparable with everything that's out there without making full major switches. It’s a good system. I'm happy with ADT. If the home was newer, there would probably be upgrades that I could probably do or might think about. But it's an older home with limited plug-ins and outlets, so it limits us to what we can upgrade to or use.

I've had ADT for different years and different times. Everything's good. It works good. ADT is a good product. I've seen other ones in different homes, and I think ADT has a lot to offer and they do a good job.

I've dealt with ADT for probably 25 years and last November, I had the security system brought up to date. I had the doorbell thing and the camera put in. My daughter has the app on her phone because she understands technology, so we have access to the system. I'm almost 80 years old and I'm home most of the time, so I also know that somebody's at the door. I’ve got the iPad stuff that tells me away, stay, and when somebody is at the door. I can understand that. I feel very safe and secure with the system. I'm satisfied with it.

The tech came out and helped me out last week. He installed the garage sensor and put my new battery in too while he was here. He was nice and friendly. He did a good job and everything's fine right now. I'm happy with everything I have. I need security and the security system makes me feel a lot better. ADT is good and I've had no problems with them.

We like ADT. The only issue we have is that a lot of these cordless devices that we have has low battery or no battery. So, if you need to reset the system to put it on, it doesn't work. That's a dangerous thing. When we call, the rep says, “Somebody will call you.” We had a call from somebody a month and a half ago, and that person was asking us all these questions. He said they will provide us with battery as long as we can put it in ourselves. I said, “Fine. Just send us the battery and maybe instructions how we gonna put it in, and we’ll have no problem. We'll figure it out.” He said yes, but we never received anything. Other than that, we're happy with the features of the system. The cost is reasonable and the reps have been very helpful.

I had a guy come out a couple of weeks ago and he changed one of the sensors. The alarm went off a couple of times mistakenly and they took care of it easily. It's been fine. However, my front door alarm was going off all the time. So I had to have a service call and the service guy came out. The sensor on the front door was bad. I had to pay for that and it just didn't seem right. I didn't have an option, so I paid. I wasn't really happy about that. But I'd recommend them if somebody asked.

The guy from ADT came over and fooled around with the monitor and said, "We got the problem fixed." They charged me $63.13. But there was nothing wrong with my unit. He tried to tell me that the system was down. But the system wasn't down. I called ADT and they gave us a discount. Instead of $63, they are only gonna charge us $29. The billing department said, all he could do was give us a percentage. He could not give us the money back. However, when the guy was here at our house, he told me, "I will not charge you for this service call. If you see it on your bill, call the billing department, and they will go ahead and waive it." But they didn't waive anything. But I like ADT and the system. The stuff works really well.

Everything's good with our ADT system and their customer service has been super. They do what they're supposed to do and the cost is reasonable. I used to be a licensed private detective in Illinois and I used ADT on the alarms that I put in, so I had a lot of experience with them. Their reputation is just proper.

I've recommended ADT a lot of times. It's my security blanket. It has done what it's supposed to do. I get called if I accidentally leave the system on. I like the fact that I can turn the equipment on or off when I'm in other places. I had to have my doorbell replaced. At the time the rep said, "You've been on the system for two years, so I need to check everything and make sure it's all upgraded," and he did.

I like when I have a problem that I call and, the majority of the time, the persons are very helpful and gets it taken care of. Or if they don't, they explain how for me to do it. The only issue I've had is changing batteries. I was on the website and I texted, and the rep led me through. The lady was very kind and patient with me. I have the door and I'm able to turn it on and off. For example, I got some pets and, when I'm out of town and they come take care of them, they are able to call and tell me that they're on their way and I can turn it off from wherever I am and turn it back on. I've been on a cruise and I got a very sick family member that I went to, and a lot of times I don't have my phone so I could call and ADT changes it to the police department. I feel very safe knowing that it's taken care of. I tell people all the time about my experience.

The equipment has worked. I had a phone call one time at 4:00 in the morning. They picked up on a loud noise and reported it to the police. Also, one time, I made a mistake when I forgot that I had armed it and came in. They called me and asked me the appropriate questions. But one time, someone said they needed to upgrade the system to a 5G and I gave them a time and date. Come that time, nobody called me to say they're on their way. I called ADT and they said they have nothing in their system and that I was already 5G from two years ago. Other than that, ADT has been fine with me. It’d be nice if the rate was a little lower but my peace of mind has been fine for the last seven years.

They had a rep come and he looked at what we needed. The installer went over the things and we understood them. He made sure we were able to work the units before we left. He said if we had any problem, we could call him. When we call, they usually take care of the issue and walk us through pretty well. ADT is outstanding. They're always right on the phone, making sure we know what's going on.

My old cameras were okay, but the upgrade to the Google Nest cameras is significantly better. I can zoom in better, and the clarity and facial recognition have improved. The app is good too. It’s just ADT needs to get the combo done where the Google Nest and the other cameras are all on the app. They said it is coming. It's just not complete yet.
Initially, the cost was a little high in terms of overall monthly from my old plan, but after I worked with ADT, I got it to a reasonable number. Also, the quality has been good beyond that, so I have no complaints. ADT has been responsive if I called them for anything, and I can fix most things if there's an issue right on my computer. The technology that way is good.

We would recommend ADT. They're easy to work with and they provide peace of mind. The alarm and the cameras protect the house. Last year, ADT came in and installed something in my existing system. The reps are always helpful, and the system works well.

My dad said that having a security system keeps honest people honest. If they really wanna come into your house, they're gonna come in. It's a deterrent. Still, ADT's service has been good. If I have a problem, I can always get ahold of a person, not just a recording, and it's easy to get through.

I got ADT door and window sensors. We updated the batteries. We had to put all the batteries in. But I'm not happy with my camera at the back because it doesn't always record when there's movement out there. And when I first got the unit, I had some issues with it to watch if I'm out. But since then, it has been good. ADT's response time is very good.

I couldn't set the alarm and I was getting a number. I called ADT and the gentleman said that we needed batteries. I went out and bought batteries. I spent $18. My husband put the batteries in and apparently, it was hardwired. I was a little annoyed. That should have been known when the gentleman told me to get the batteries. We had a service call. The tech was right on time when he said he was coming. The experience with him was top-notch.
Just before that, I had set the alarm. We had gone out and we weren't even gone five minutes and I got a call from ADT that my burglar alarm was going off. That was when we realized that it was the battery thing. I called the police department right after I hung up with ADT. They had already sent somebody out so now I'm gonna be charged a fine for that. I was a little annoyed with that. That aside, we haven't had any problems. I'm happy with ADT and I would recommend them.

They gave us options on what kind of equipment we wanted. Our installation was easy. Our system came with a standard doorbell with video. But there is a problem with the sound on my phone that I get from the app. It's very low and I never know when somebody's at the door. I checked with online support and I can't change it to make it louder. So, I switched out to a Ring. But I don't have the Ring hooked up with ADT. Other than that, anything else is fine.

ADT was offered to us when we built our new home. I got it in January. The sales rep was nice and the installation was fine. The system is easy to use and does not have a lot of complications. I like it. We had an issue here that was possibly lightning and it messed up my video doorbell and I had to get that all working again. The rep sent me directions but I still have one issue left. The girl that helped me that day was very nice. The other issue was the monitoring on the video doorbell at the front would just go off every few minutes all night long and there was nothing there. My son went on my app and took the motion thing off because I couldn't sleep. I've got to call ADT and get them to come out and check on that or tell me what to do.

the representatives have been good. They know what they're doing. We had a lightning hit here at the house a year or so ago. There are several window sensors that even though we were paying quite a price at the time they would not replace. They also didn't reinstate the detector that we were paying extra for carbon monoxide monitoring because it was due to the lightning. So those things are not functioning. We ended up paying quite a bit to replace some things, but the whole system isn't functioning. The only thing that ADT told us at the time was we'd have to pay quite a bit to get those things taken care of.
A couple of years or so ago, we were out of town and got a call from ADT that our alarm had been triggered. We called the neighbors and my daughter, and it was not going off. It had not been triggered. The police were called. So it was a complete false alarm on their end. That caused quite a stir. We didn't like the police having us for a false alarm when the siren didn't even go off. At that time we found out that they just weren't monitoring quite a few functions.

I feel safer having ADT in my house. The app is convenient. I can turn the system on and off on my phone. If I go some place, I can turn it on and when I'm coming home and I get in my driveway, I can turn it off before I open doors. One time, we had to replace the battery on one of the sensors and they sent a tech out. He was very nice and friendly. He put the battery in and checked the whole system while he was here. I would recommend ADT, especially for women living alone.

I have a very basic package where I have the keypad, and the battery where it's hooked up in my attic. It calls the police and 911. I have the motion sensors in the house. I also have the audio, and glass breaking features. Overall, I'm satisfied. I did find out that the system is hooked up to my landline. I've been in contact with ADT so much during these past few weeks, because my landline wasn't working. They hooked me up to somebody in the technical department. I spoke with him, and they went over exactly the same thing the first one did. Then I had a technician call me back for a more in-depth conversation on the phone the next day.

The ADT system is very responsive. One time, we had a false fire alarm and they called instantly in a few seconds. It was great. The battery life is two years and if we lose power and the battery needs to kick in, it's going to be less than that. It's a 3.7- volt battery and we need to order it when we see it's low because we can't find it in the market. The command system is very stable and we've had no malfunctioning so far. If there's something going on, it notifies you beforehand and that's all the features that any consumer would want to have.

My package with ADT is old so I just have certain windows that have it on and then, I have glass breaks and the monitor. They said I don’t need an upgrade and that there’s no sense in putting the money into it because my system is in good shape. I am very pleased with ADT. Talking to the reps on the phone is always pleasant. It's always caring about the customer. I just have good things to say about ADT or we wouldn't have been with them as long as we are. We've had the system for 29 years and I never wanted to go to anybody else. I have called about anything and they have been right there. If I need signs or if the battery is low, I get that. It's a good experience with them.

I love the ADT System. It's easy to use and their customer service is outstanding. I'm able to get notifications from out of town and I can get notifications from my camera. I love that if someone comes to my house and I need to get them in the garage door, I can use my app to get them in the garage door. It's a great system. It's also Alexa-compatible, which is good too. I'd highly recommend it.

I had ADT for years. I like the company. The reps have been very helpful. I got a good package. When I have a problem, I just call them and ask them to troubleshoot it or to walk me through it. When my smoke detector was going off, one of the ladies walked me through it and told me how I can cut it off. It was resetting it. She was very helpful. I'm pleased with ADT's service.

I was offline for over 10 years and did not know it. They do not care about your security, as they do not check to see if you are connected EVER. It is all your responsibility though you pay them every month if the system is working or not. If you have dropped your landline, please make sure you have gotten a cell signal option from them. If you have a code "FC" showing on your keypad it means that there isn't a connection to ADT and NO ONE is coming to help you when the alarm goes off.
I talked to 2 supervisors who seemed understanding but confined by company policies. I can't believe that in this day and age, the company does not check at least once a month to ensure that the systems are working and let you know if they are not. It isn't very ethical to me, but they are very aware that they are covered by their contract, which makes it the owner's job to test the system and not ADT

Ok, Where to start I moved from 1 house to another. called ADT to transfer my service they told me to transfer to ADT Blue so I can set it up so I did. Now I have a collection agency after me because they did not do what they said they would do. They were to waive my cancellation fee because I was staying with them. I now pay for ADT Blue and they are trying to collect a cancellation fee from me. Called multiple times to hear from them that it is all taken care of. But it's not, I just received another letter from a collection agency saying to pay or it will go on my credit. This is very frustrating as I still pay ADT. I would not recommend this company at all because they are scamming me.

I’ve been an ADT customer since 2017. Decided to use them for our new home and called to set up installation. I was told by the dealer that the front and back cameras would be included in the monthly fee. Scheduled the install. Installer came out and we walked around the house where I explained what we were looking for. Didn’t realize that the cameras would increase the monthly cost but decided to move forward with the plan. We walked around the house and the installer wanted to sell me on a flood light camera that would replace the light fixture for the back. He said he couldn’t install it but my husband could. Something about the electrical. He then sold us on the same thing for the front of the home. We had the decorative light fixtures off of the house because we were painting. I was relaying to my husband who didn’t understand that he meant the floodlight camera would replace the decorative light.
We didn’t want that so I attempted to call and resolve which I thought would be a fairly simple request. Just swap the floodlight camera for a regular camera. The floodlight camera would be an eye sore. My first call I spoke to someone who was going to send me a return label but realized it wasn’t an online purchase so she had to transfer me to someone else. The next rep had such a strong language barrier that unfortunately I couldn’t understand so decided to end the call. I called the installer who said I could call him anytime. I left him a voicemail. Days went by and I heard nothing back.
I decided to call today to try and resolve. I mistakenly thought this was an easy request. Swapping out a camera that I’ve not even used once. Wrong. I was told I could not due to their 3 day right of recission policy. I then asked to have them come collect all of their equipment and cancel, but that entailed paying 75% of the contract. Thinking this was just an easy fix to have a happy customer turned out to be a huge disappointment.
I asked to speak with a supervisor who was less than helpful, interrupted me, did not offer solutions and just kept repeating the policy. No empathy, no guidance, awful customer experience. I have a useless camera I’ll never even use still in the box. I won’t add another regular camera to the account for an additional cost. Maybe a representative from ADT reading this is willing to help get this resolved.

ADT pulls out 152 dollars out of my bank account without my knowledge. I have tried 5 times to contact them, and each time they hang up on me when I explain my issue. I just want my money back and to cancel my account but they will not talk to me. It is illegal to pull money out of my account without me authorizing it.

DO NOT PURCHASE ADT. SHOP ELSEWHERE. YOU CANNOT DO WORSE! 1. I buy equipment & 3 yr contract for home. I pay every month auto-deduct. 2. After 6 months, I begin getting false alarms: downstairs bedroom broken window. 3. There is no broken or breached window anywhere in home. 4. I call ADT tech support. It takes forever to talk to someone. 5. ADT runs remote tests & I'm told nothing is wrong! 6. Something is wrong because the ** alarm keeps going off. 7. 1 phone voice transfers me to another. 8. I am asked to explain problem again. I just spent over an hour explaining & running remote tests!
9. I tell this person I want a house visit from a tech. 10. Then I'm told I must pay for tech to come to house! I signed a 3 year contract for what? For a headache! For a useless alarm system! I make my payments on time. I'm on the hook & now they want me to pay for a visit! DO NOT PURCHASE ADT. SHOP ELSEWHERE. YOU CANNOT DO WORSE!

We updated to the most current service two years ago and since then, we continue to get false reports, and it's in one particular part of the house. Three weeks ago, another guy came and spent an hour and replaced some kind of monitors and left. Earlier this week, we had two more false alarms from a window in the same room where he replaced a monitor. I've called and spent hours on the phone but I didn't call this time.
The guy who was here recently did fine, professional work but he is the third person who has been here in the last couple of years and it just keeps on happening. We reset the ADT system whenever that happens so we don't get another false alarm for a while, and all of a sudden, they resume in that part of the house. Because of that, we don’t know if this thing is working. The real issue that results is lack of confidence. It's just an aggravation. Nobody has come by and asked if we wanna use their security system and I haven't taken the time to reach out to anybody but if somebody calls or comes by, we're definitely gonna talk to them.

The remote was a huge feature. The alarm has gone off a few times. And every time I got a call from ADT, everyone was very helpful, pleasant and knowledgeable. The response time with getting notified is incredible. ADT is very reliable and I had all positive experiences. I would highly recommend them.

At the beginning, I had a lot of problems with the motion sensor inside because I was getting a lot of false alarms. I couldn't find anything specifically because I don't have any animals inside our house, but something was triggering it. So, I decided to get rid of the motion sensors and ever since, the problem was solved. Recently, ADT upgraded to 5G and they came in and replaced the cell signal. Their techs were good and everything was very clean. There no wires were showing and everything was nice. So far, my alarms are working good and I hope they continue with a quick response. Once the alarm goes off, I get a call right away. I also hope they keep the prices low. They've been pretty stable and should keep it that way. If they start getting higher, that would be a problem. But as long as that is affordable, then we're okay.

My ADT system isn't working. It isn't responding when they're trying to do a test. I have spent forever trying to get them to send someone out to help me fix it and to expand the thing, but nobody ever called me back. They say, "Go online and do this and this." I don't have a computer. I'm older. I don't care about paying a bill but I want them to come out and fix it.

ADT did a virtual. I'm not that good with that kind of stuff because I never had to do it. I did it but it didn't work. In the middle of the night, our alarm would go off. It was a nightmare. Then they sent somebody out. They guaranteed that it was okay. They weren't gone a day, I had trouble with it. We ended up having a new system put in. My husband and I were out at physical therapy, and I had left my phone in the car so I didn't get the alert. When I went in the car and I looked at my phone, I said, "We gotta get home. It says our alarm's gone off."
We came home with the sheriff, the state police, the county police, and the city police all around my house. They came through and everything was okay. But then I called ADT and I said, "This is very upsetting. This is a brand new system." They had to send someone out. I said, "I won't be charged for this, will I?" The kid said, "I don't think so, ma'am. I'm putting it in my notes because it's under a warranty for so many days." It was the entrance door to my garage. Every time we went out, I didn't even shut the door then the alarm went off. ADT sent someone out and it was the sensor. He had to put a new sensor back on. That was fine and we haven't had any trouble since.
However, I was charged for the visit. But the girl was gracious enough. She took it off. I said, "From what I understand, I could probably have gotten a better monthly rate." She gave me one, but she gave me a number to call. And when I called, the rep said I can only do that once a year. Since she lowered the rate, there was nothing they could do. But they were super nice and they tried to do what they could. The techs that came here were also very nice. What's very frustrating for me is when I call and I get someone that I can't understand. Also, when I couldn't understand somebody, and I'm on the phone forever and they end up hanging up on me. But that's the only thing.

ADT has been good. When the cost goes up, I call and complain, and they usually bring it down for me. I’m a satisfied customer. The system lets me know when all my doors are opening. That's what I mainly use it for. Recently, I had to get a new battery 'cause it went off. They mailed it. A rep came out and let us know what the problem was.

I've been with ADT forever. Recently, I added the push button if I fall and the monitoring for that. I love it. Their customer support has always been so good. They've always been so responsive. What I really like about them, is if I accidentally set the alarm off or something happens, they are immediately on it. I get a call immediately. If I accidentally hit my button, and I can't get it turned off, they're checking to see if I'm all right. I'm very pleased with the service that I've gotten from them. The techs also seemed to know their business and were well-trained. I was happy with the results.

Absolutely horrible customer service. I could not even set my system 1st day due to technical difficulties. Extremely long hold times. ADT sure likes hanging up on people. BLINK at least has awesome customer service. I thought ADT was suppose to be really good. They sure do not like answering questions or calling back when they hung up on you.

Updated on 5/17/2023: Do not be fooled by ADT responses to concerns on this forum that indicates that they will work to find a solution. That is clearly only for public consumption. My personal experience was that they do not really care about trying to find a solution, only about putting out a perception that they do. I have a previous post re: concerns with ADT upselling my elderly parents and not offering flexibility to address the fact that they have a system that they are scared to use as it has resulted in multiple false alarms. I even offered to pay for the removal of the equipment.
They responded publicly on this forum that they would reach out and help address this. I was encouraged but, after providing them insight, they politely said that they are not willing to consider the situation. They stated "ADT does not discriminate based on age. Our sales representatives are trained to offer our products and services to everyone who expresses interest, regardless of age." I asked for further follow-up, both via email and this platform, and they have chosen not to respond. I'm deeply disappointed in all interactions with this company and they demonstrate a lack of empathy and ethics in how they deal with people.
Original review: My elderly parents responded to a ADT postcard indicating "free" ADT. I told them that this is a promotional item and nothing is free. They called ADT who sold them immediately into a system that they do not need, with every option imaginable. My parents are not in a mental state where they can make these decisions on their own but that did not stop the ADT sales person from signing them into a 5 year plan, at a price that they cannot afford. Since installation, they barely use it but have had 6 false alarms with emergency vehicles being sent to the house each time. To be fair, it may not be completely the system but could be also be operator error. They now want the system out as they recognize they should not have it. When I called just now, I was told the only option would be to pay off the hardware and remaining service plan for over $5000!! This is unreasonable as ADT took advantage of them and put them in this situation.
They have lived in the same rural community for over 60 years and there is literally no crime. In addition, they have a very caring set of neighbors who watch over them. (They are the ones who call me to tell me that there are emergency vehicles there and did not know if it's my father's heart condition, my uncle falling, or my mother falling while recovering from knee surgery.) When they sold options, they referenced my fathers reduced mobility, and also the fact that they care for my 85 year old wheelchair bound uncle who has cerebral palsy. They now have more fear in using the system and triggering another false alarm. I offered to pay a fee for the installation and removal labor of the system. They could then repurpose the 4 month old hardware. It was restated that the only way out was by paying the $5000, or with 3 service calls where they cannot fix the hardware.
I told them that they took advantage of them with features and duration and they may not even be here for another 5 years. There must be some way to deal with this issue. They stated that there would be no further obligation upon their death. I asked for escalation and was told there was none. Evidently the only way out of the contract obligation is to pay it in full now or with death. I have never been more disappointed in a response as ADT put my parents into this situation and took advantage of them. Beware of a company that preys on the elderly.

This is the absolute WORST alarm company of all time. We used ADT Blue and when we moved residences our hub wouldn't connect. Despite countless hours on the phone with their outsourced customer service we were unable to connect and paid for service for months with ZERO connection and no one I spoke with at ADT had a shred of concern that we were paying for a service we weren't receiving. When I finally got so fed up I had to cancel service they refused to waive the cancellation fee and charged me $1,500 unless I agreed to stay with ADT. Don't waste your time, money, or energy on this awful organization.

This company charge me for the last 5 yrs $142 dollars a month after I paid the whole camera system equipment and labor, and every time I have a problem I can’t get them to fix it, technician come and talk about charging me, when I tell him that I pay $142 a month for service and warranty they light and leave! I call customer service and nothing they can’t do, but only want to give me back $100. I always end up private local guy. They come and fix my issue (of course pay the local guy). Don’t get scammed by this company people.

The service is great, and especially, with the cameras. We just added one more camera. It's a really secure security plan and system. ADT is the number one in this area. But it's sad that we are terminating the service because we're moving out of state.

I've had ADT for over 20 years and I liked the service when I first started. I've done some upgrades and had some additional stuff installed. Everything is good. When I call customer service, sometimes I have to call more than once. But once I get a person who knows what they're talking about, it's good.

The rep explained the process very well and the installers were great. The last guy was really good. He took the extra time to tell me what I needed to put in as far as Google Nest services. He also told me everything I needed to make the cameras stay online. The guys prior fixed them but didn't realize how big the home was. So, my cameras kept jumping off a lot. Other than that, definitely go with ADT.

The features were good until the camera quit working. We changed internet and the security camera we wouldn't come back on. My wife tried to call to see what they would do about it and they just gave her a link to troubleshoot it ourselves. It doesn't work at all right now. Also, they had a deal where they’d give a $100 gift card back and I've never received it. That was part of the reason I went with them. That paid back for part of the installation but if they had told me it was gonna be three to six months, I wouldn't have even done it.

There were two technicians who came in. One says he’s from ADT and the other guy says he’s an ADT special rep. ADT installed the equipment and now they're saying the equipment is not theirs so they don't cover it. They could have better customer service. I'm thinking about switching over.

When I called the customer service of ADT, they tried to help as best they can. If not, they'd send me to somebody else. The problem is getting to ADT, ‘cause you have to stay on the phone a long time just to speak with them. But besides that, everything’s good. I also like that if I can keep it running, the way that it comes to my phone when somebody pulls up in my drive, I can see everything around the drive. The camera’s what I really like about it.

With ADT, I like the ability to do everything from my phone. I can turn the system off upstairs without waking my husband, doing it in the bedroom or a panel on the wall. I'm also happy to have the smoke alarm and the carbon monoxide detector to where they can detect if there’s a problem. They're also very fast on taking care of any problems.

I had a sensor not working. The first time, it took a while being online and I finally got somebody. She was unable to help. So, they ended up having to send somebody out which cost me 100 bucks. And it was just a reboot that had not gone all the way through. That was not very happy because it could have been something that should have been fixed or at least tried because the next time it happened, the guy I called was able to walk me through it. So, I was not pleased about that.
But it has been happening again multiple times. I have one sensor that for some reason does not always want to work for no apparent reason. And I don't call or reboot it every time because it tends to resolve itself. But it is counterproductive on my end, where if I'm supposed to be safe, my sensors should always work. And I shouldn't let it be a day or two before it resolves. Because in that day or two, somebody could come through that door, and it wouldn't go off. Other than that, everybody has been friendly. They have tried to help. And that particular sensor, they have replaced batteries, and they've done stuff. I'm happy with ADT.

Updated on 03/31/2023: I wrote a review about ADT on March 20, 2023. Received a response from ADT on the 21st. The response indicated that ADT personnel were nor able to locate my account by my name or street address. Well, ok I find this a bit concerning. On March 22, 2023 I sent the ADT representative a PRIVATE response including my name address complete with city state and zip, and phone number. I have yet to hear from anyone regarding this. The representative indicated her name in the original reply, but seriously how many numbreds of people does ADT employ who are reachable via the 1-800 number she gave me, which I already had by the way. Why did she NOT send me her direct extension or department. Anyway I called the 1800 number and of course I had no idea what department this person worked in, and basically got nowhere.
Today is the 31st of March. I am still waiting. I also sent another Private response on the 22nd as well. I am not going to put my private information in the PUBLIC domain. Maybe I will receive a better outcome by filing a complaint with the BBB. I am researching other home security solutions, obviously ADT is not for me. I am not asking for much.
Original review: I just purchased a new home in October 2022. Choose ADT for hone security in spite of the fact that they seem a bit high, but I wanted to feel secure.
Issues No:. 1They pretend to give you a basic "Free" package consisting of items that are of zero use for the average person to free secure with these "free" items.
Issue No.: 2After installation you, the customer are required to register your security system with your local Police/Fire department. ADT never informed me or my neighbor of this. Oh and of course, registration is NOT free.
Issue No.: 3The installation Tech mentioned that because of the upgrades that my billing to pay for the upgrades, would be come from a third party. I was fine with that I assumed that it would be coming from Safe Haven since that is the company name that is also printed next to the ADT name on the top of my copy of the contract. The name of the third party company is Home Design. I found this out after I was speaking with Synchrony Bank on the phone concerning two bills I had with them. They informed me that I had a third account with them.
I asked them for the name of the account and was told that it was a company by the name of Home Design. I disputed this and had them connect them with the fraud department because I had not had any kind of home design work done on my home, and had NEVER heard of this company before. So now I am in a bit of a panic because obviously someone has gotten pertinent info to open up an account in my name. I eventually figured that this is the company associated with ADT or the upgrades in my security system. It is sad that both the people I worked with to set this appointment up and get this installed...ie the initial person I spoke with regarding ADT and the installer, neither of them knew the name of the third party billing! I find this ridiculous. Now this has negatively affected my credit because I had NOT been paying this bill.
Issue No:. 4I had planned on having a Storm Door installed on both my front and back door. Now I am in the process of getting this done only to find out that ADT placed the security doorbell on a part of the door that the Storm Dor has to go on and now I have to pays an electrician to come and move the doorbell over three inches. It only takes a minute of basic common courtesy for ADT to make a part of their installation to simply ask the "up-charge" customer if they plan on installing or adding anything to or around the door frame. Or how about just not adding the security doorbell on the frame of the door casing!!! Now not only am I having to pay all the up-charges, plus a monthly fee ...forever for this security, I now have to pay out of pocket for an electrician to come move this security doorbell over three inches!!!
ADT should pay for this. Had the tech asked a simple question I would have informed him that I will be having a Storm Door. I am not a contractor, I am not versed on these type of issues, however I would think ADT does this all day everyday, why not ask a simple question that may in the future prevent your customer from incurring ANOTHER fee associated with ADT. Personally I am just fed up with ADT and regret utilizing them, will be looking at changing.

We brought our aunt to Michigan and when she was living there, we put in the alarm because she wasn’t in her house. After we bought the house, we just kept it. We have the motion detectors in the house and when we brought her back down, we had the agent come out and we went over everything. My aunt’s house is out in the rural area, and we added a piece on the front of the house and it will alarm and send off a blinking light.
About a year ago, the alarm quit working. So, ADT sent us batteries to put that in and then, they had to send us a whole new unit. The guy walked us through it, how to get it down and get it back up there. My aunt’s house is a small one so we have one keypad in the hallway and there are seven sensors. One is in the garage because there's a door that comes in through the garage as well. We called ADT to ask how to get the battery and how to get the piece working. Everybody was very helpful. When we put the new piece on the front, we were on the phone with that guy for an hour. But he was very nice and reset everything. When we moved from Michigan to Arkansas, on the other side of the state with our house in 2020, we went with ADT here. And our guy who came out to the house and helped us, follows up every so often. So, we have both accounts with ADT and it's all been positive.

I've had my system for 30 years and it's been great. I have the monitoring, the smoke alarms, and if I'm sick and need medical assistance, I press a button. Also, it's got all the fire prevention things and the Pulse system, which is the best part of their product. I have the remote to lock and unlock the system. If I'm in a hurry, I can just go get in the car and from there, I could lock the system. I wish the system was cheaper, but I'm getting good value for what I'm paying. Also, I have an excellent relationship with ADT. Sometimes I open the door without checking to see if the system is locked or unlocked and they're very quick at sending me a text and an email before calling the police. The reps are very helpful and courteous.

This ADT guy I had was absolutely great. His name was Mario, and he had come up from somewhere in Florida to help out. He showed me every single product that ADT had. I told him I only wanted the basic. So, I have the panel, the ring doorbell, the camera outside, and motion sensor in the house. Then I went ahead and got seven door and window sensors. The monitor that I have in the house is only in use when I set the panel for arm away. Then the door sensors and window sensors work every time. You can hear that when you open the door and open windows. I have my yard sign up, and I've got window stickers. If you look up ADT on Google, it will say that the burglars will not choose your house in a lot of cases if you have the sign or the window stickers.

I had a guy come in when the sensors needed to be replaced. While he was here, I also had him replace the master battery in the main system. He was in and out in a day. He troubleshot the problem and corrected it. Now, the system showed everything was fine, but later on that night, it did react again. So, he came back the next day and took care of another sensor. It showed up as being bad but he couldn't detect it the first day he was here. Overall, the experience has been great. But the price is a little high. I'm beginning to doubt whether the cost is worth the service because I looked at other providers offering similar coverage for a lot less. But now I understand that everybody, including ADT, gives a beginning price to get you to sign up, and then they raise the price over the years.

The installation was perfectly a breeze. I feel really secure with this system. It's so sensitive that it goes off when I don't want it to. It's doing its job more efficiently than it should. For instance, when my husband plays the guitar and the room vibrates, it sets off the motion detectors. When the lawn man comes and uses the big industrial strength leaf blower, it sets off the alarm. When I'm cooking and overdoing some things and it causes some smoke, it has really sensitive smoke alarm. All of those things are wonderful. They're annoying in the moment, but I'm really happy that it works that well.
We are very bad at remembering to turn the system off in the morning so we set this thing off fairly regularly. Every time we've had that happened and it lasted any length of time, we always get an immediate call from ADT. They are so good about checking up on us, asking the right questions and helping us reset the panel if we have a problem. It's really the best service I've had for security system, and I've had four.

I have had a very frustrating experience with your customer service agents, to try and get an initial installation appointment. The first agent spent 45 minutes, only to mess up my email (in spite of me spelling it out) and scheduled us for the wrong date. I spent the next few hours, trying to get it rescheduled, got transferred multiple times with different people, all of them repeatedly asking just my name and address, with no clue whatsoever, I finally get 2 phone calls yesterday and the day before, saying they have rescheduled my appointment again without our knowledge. I get it finally scheduled today and there is no sign of the technician yet (we are well within the 4 hour window), with no phone call yet as well. I am not at all impressed with this quality of customer service, waste of time and supervisor was not available/not ready to speak with a qualified customer with a genuine complaint

When we moved into this house, ADT was here already so we decided to do that as well. But we had some of the things rewired and hooked up to the phone. The reps were pleasant. A couple of times we called them when we had some problems. They were supposed to check it and test it but things didn't work the way we wanted them to. So, we called and got help over the phone. They were always good about that. They were friendly and professional. We need to add some cameras and we’re going to reach out to them soon. We're happy and satisfied.

Anytime you go out, if you don't set the alarm, ADT is gonna let you know you need to set your alarm. We're old-fashioned and we do everything manually but sometimes, if I go down the street and I’m not sure if I set the alarm, I’ll pull it up on my cell phone. I just upgraded to the new pad last year and I have been extremely happy with it. ADT has extremely good service. They do what they say they're gonna do and I would recommend them in a heartbeat. I don't plan on going anywhere else.

I like that when the alarm goes off, ADT responds quickly. The last time it happened was the early part of this year. I wasn't home, and I got a call that my alarm went off. When I got home, all my doors were locked still. I was afraid to come in the house, but I called ADT back and they were quick to get ahold of. The rep talked to me until I checked my house and my closet. Everything was in order, and I don't understand why it went off.

I lost my job. They say they work with me. They call 10 times a day. I had to block them. I've called them. Supposedly they credit my account til May but I still keep getting calls. I'm about to have them come get it out of my home. They said the calls will stop. They haven't. I called 3 times today. They come up with an excuse. I wish I never got them. Stay away from them.

I'm satisfied with ADT. The service is good, the installation went well, from signing up to completion was quick. I have the window features and doors. The keypad is easy and convenient. I added some window protections. Sandi who's a district sales manager set it up and sent out a technician to install those. Everything went smoothly.

I made the mistake of looking into ADT for a business. Not only have they called me incessantly, but attempts to ask them not to call me have been met with hangups from 815/410-1319, sarcasm, snippiness, wrong phone numbers that tried to offer me a $100 voucher (India) that were clearly bogus, and refusal to be connected to the corporate headquarters customer service or leadership at 561-988-3600 where an operator tried to push herself off as "escalations." One half hour wasted just trying to get off a call list. Even a call back resulted in no one being on the other end of the phone.
The company isn't interested in the service anymore so I thought I would try not to be bothered. No such luck. They are so stupid that even when I told them that I was trying to do this the nice way and not go online, they still jerked me around. Have it your way ADT. They supposedly record their calls. Pull mine you jerks! We will never use your company and can't wait to tell everyone why not!

We have ADT Security system with camera, The cameras never work. I have called numerus times to no effect. I called to cancel the cameras, ADT refused to cancel the cameras. I asked if I paid off the equipment can I cancel. They said yes if I pay an $800 fee. The equipment sucks. My daughter set off the alarm no one ever called, the cameras never record. They charge outrageous fees to disconnect. I would rate -5 stars if I could.

We bought a home that we recently sold for financial reasons and canceled the security account. They automatically charged us for the balance on the equipment and fees we owed on the rest of the contract ($600). But now they tell us the contract has a penalty (well, they say it's not a "penalty" but I don't know what else you would call it) of $1500 if you cancel within a 5-year period. The only way to avoid it is if you stay with them and open an account on another home. This is in the contract in black and white, which I now know, but somehow our "agent" who sold us the ADT system failed to highlight this provision for us.
Had I read it more carefully and/or had that been more transparent in the "selling" of their services and equipment, I never would have gone with ADT. And I never, ever will use this service again and encourage all other members of my extended to family to stay far away from it. Use another service. There are others that are as good, if not better, and far less predatory. There is no reason to hold a customer to a penalty for 5 years if they cancel other than to punish them for life circumstances or find a better/more reasonable service. I would feel differently if the term was 1 or even 2 years for a cancellation penalty. Five years is simply unconscionable and predatory. STAY AWAY. The service is buggy anyway.

If you relocate the system to a new location or the new owners signs up with ADT then we are happy to reverse the cancellation fees, however the equipment fees would still be valid. Thank you

With AT&T, instead of doing everything back on the main panel, which is in the laundry room, we had little chirpers. We had one upstairs and one downstairs. When I went with ADT, I wanted to recreate that scenario, so we got two of those. Then we added the smoke detectors into the system, which I thought was a phenomenal deal. After we had the initial equipment installed, we added some stuff. Then, we had minor problems and the last one we had to do was a software upgrade. The ADT techs who came out for those were all great. One time, we engaged one of the reps on the phone when we were having the whole inside of the house repainted. We had to do a ceiling in one room and our painter had to mask the alarm device there. That set it off. So, when ADT called, because we couldn't shut it off, we asked the lady if she could disable it on their end until we were done painting. And that worked out well.

Just follow the instructions. If you're in doubt, give ADT a call. The telephone support team is superb. My most recent experiences have been over the top. Our rear camera stopped recording, and the first time I got through to an individual, they got it on, but it didn't take. I called back, and the woman that I spoke to walked me through the process. She had to do a couple of things but she did the work and had the camera working within five minutes. We were never disappointed from the work out. It was just a glitch in the system.

Sometimes, it's frustrating to speak to the customer service team because you can't get through, but once you do, it's good. The cameras are cool because you could see if anybody's in the house. We've had several people asking and we've told them that we like ADT and wouldn't switch.

When the system was telling us we had low battery, we had a tech come and he assessed that there wasn't sufficient power in the system to keep all the balls up in the air. So he put a second power source in. We also had ADT send us two parts which they then installed. Everything was kind of on an even keel for a little while and then we started getting these messages that the system was not right. We got it done in a couple of different stages with the system acting a little bit unhappy in between. But they finally got that straightened out.
We hit a period where the system was telling us it wasn't arming. We have a feature where if you open the door, it goes "beep, beep" so you know somebody's walking in and walking out, and that wasn't working. Things were kind of not working completely according to plan, although we could arm the system and disarm it. So we had a guy come back and he looked at the whole thing and said, "Oh, this hasn't been programmed right." So he did some reprogramming and everything worked out fine after that. We had good relations with the technicians. They were respectful and helpful. They seemed to get the problem fixed in increments. But we got billed $59 for a service call on that last go around. The ADT guy said that it was a problem that was created by the programming and that they would get that reversed. But it didn't get reversed.

I like that ADT is 24-hour monitored. I have the whole nine yards. I also have my wife on a medical alert button that's ADT. I have had to contact customer service several times over the last seven years. They've come and change batteries. They've come and done some programming. I've always liked the system.

ADT was the best known and the most reliable that we had at the time available to us. I've been using them for over 20 years. They keep raising the prices, and several years ago, I told them that they were outpricing me. They were up to $75 a month for what I had. So they said, “Well, you've been a customer of ours for a long time.” They dropped the price to $25 a month, and they said, “When we have a price increase, just give us a call. Tell us you don't want the price increase, and your price will stay the same for as long as you have ADT.” Anytime I've had a problem, I've been able to contact them. They give me a person to talk to or else they’d send a technician out here to do it and since we have a plan with them, it's no cost to us.

The system is not an inexpensive item to have, but I'm very satisfied with ADT. There are a couple of exceptions, but they've all been rectified. I have a technician due to come to transfer a faulty transformer today.

We called ADT, scheduled an installation, a kid came out and put everything in, we shook hands, smiled and away he went. Nobody had to sell us, we were already sold. We've been with them ever since. It’s very easy to live with the system. We call in once in a while to test it, probably not as often as we should. But by and large, it's great. It works every time. We've had good luck.

ADT worked with me. They helped me for a couple of months when I had to leave my job. They kept my service on for three months. They don’t just cut you off. It was around Christmas so the rep said, “We'll just leave it on.” They also helped me get the wireless system so I can use my cell phone to keep their service. That was in January. And I had to go agree to pay for a year, and I went back to month-to-month. I like that it’s wireless because I don’t have a home phone anymore. That helps.

Let me start by saying, I wanted to wait to write a review at the end of the nightmare that has befallen my family, but alas here I am, as apparently there is no resolution in sight. We have been ADT customers for over 15 years without incident or hickup. We moved for a temporary assignment and wanted to install ADT services at the long term rental address as we have a toddler and the new dwelling had a lot of exterior doors and windows. And things went left from that first phone call.
We called to set up an appointment and I advised the sales rep that I wanted something for a dwelling that was not my own as we were only living there temporarily. He claimed he understood and signed us up for a 5 year contract anyway. (I acknowledge that I should have read a bit more carefully and not trusted that he sold me the correct merchandise.)
When we were ready to move back to our permanent home (which already has an updated ADT system installed), we were advised that since we could not transfer the service, we would be required to pay for the remainder of the contract in whole. Imagine my surprise, because I wasn't aware it was a five year contract. He was advised from the beginning that the move was only temporary. I immediately protested as I was not told this in the beginning. This was December 2022.
Fast forward, ADT drained my checking account for payment of installation, billed me $2500 for the remainder of the contract. I have been back and forth on the phone with various reps since then trying to resolve the issue. I have been told by multiple reps that it has been fixed. I was told I needed to merge my two contracts, that my money would be refunded, that the other contract (deceitfully sold to me) would be revoked. NONE of the promises made have been kept. And here is the real kicker, if I decide to take my business elsewhere, I can't because I have a current contract on my permanent home and new installation fees because I upgraded our system in our permanent home prior to us returning in January 2023.
I am disappointed and frustrated beyond belief with how this has been handled. I call all the time asking for supervisors and managers so that my issue can be resolved and everyone pretends to be the one who can handle it before they hear the entire issue, then I get bounced around from queue to queue and put on indefinite holds. As someone who used to train call center representatives and has worked in customer service, this is pathetic and an overhaul of your services needs to be considered. My advice, look elsewhere.

Right now, they seem to be great. I'm okay with the features that I have. But I don’t like that you're paying a monthly bill and when you have something that needs to be done service-wise, you got to pay a service fee for a service technician to come out, because they expect you to troubleshoot from what they're telling you. There's nothing that I can complain about except that. I've been with ADT forever. Being that I'm a creature of habit, I like the service, so I just stuck with it. Had I not been satisfied, I would have gone somewhere else.

I went with ADT because I wanted to be sure that I was going to get consistent service and that my security was not going to go down constantly, lose power, or have a problem and need constant repairs. I called them for something and while I was talking to an ADT rep, they said, "Oh, looking at your system, it's outdated. And I'll say January 1st, it's not going to work any longer." I said, "Why is that?" They said, "Because we are upgrading from the 2.5 to 5." I have the equipment. I said, "Well, you know, I recently paid for and installed an outdoor camera with ADT. I have several other things." The person was telling me that none of the stuff that I had currently was going to work and that it would need to be replaced and they gave me a price of $1,800.
I called back and spoke to a second person and I said just because they've decided to upgrade to 5G, I shouldn't have to be responsible for replacing all of my working equipment. They said, "Well, looking at your outdoor camera, that's going to work. Oh, and looking at this, that's still going to work. And this is still going to work." So, that was how the price went down to 1,100. I got to thinking about it again before I scheduled them to come out. I thought, "You know what? This is ridiculous that I have to put out $1,100 for working equipment." So, I called and spoke to a third person and the price came to $638. A number of items still worked. I did need to get a new panel. That was outdated, and I was fine with that. My indoor cameras are plug-in, so they're not remote. I can unplug it right now and put it in a different room. Why would I have to get new indoor cameras? I had three, but I went ahead and got two.
When they came out, I had two sensors put on. So, that was beneficial to a slider and a window on my second floor, which I hadn't done just because it was on the second floor. So, that was okay and I was all right with that. As far as payments, it was supposed to be three payments of 200 and some dollars. I went into my bank account and 400 and some dollars had been taken out. So, that was quite a fiasco to try to get that resolved. That took probably several weeks. Finally, I spoke to a manager who gave me his direct phone line to call him if I had any other issues. He resolved the problem right away. When you call in, you first have to talk to the person who asked for all your security information. Then, they transfer you to another person and if that person is not the one to resolve your issue, you go to another one.
So when I finally somehow reached this person in management, that was huge. He told me to call back if I needed anything else. I did call him one other time. I gave the extension that he'd given me, and they didn't want to transfer me. There's a reason that I have this direct line and this manager told me to specifically speak with him. I guess a lot of companies can be that way. Sometimes it’s very challenging depending on who you're speaking with. It might take four people to finally get things resolved or get to the right person. So, I understand that.
The person who came out and upgraded everything was very pleasant and professional but cordial. And anyone who's come out before that, I get the same thing. Anytime someone has come out from ADT, they're all terrific. ADT is a great company. Their marketing is terrific. Their support people who come out to address issues are very good. They're very professional and timely. They call before they're going to be here. They always protect their feet. Overall, they do a very good job. I've been very happy about that.

This company is the biggest rip off ever. Equipment doesn’t work have the time, can wait on hold forever to get issues resolved. Don’t waste your time or money. Lies about everything and doesn’t explain their contract, information always changes and you never get a straight answer. Bottom line is they are a hook and sink company and once your 3 days right to rescind is up you are screwed. Would not recommend this place to my worst enemy period!

I've had a good experience with ADT. They're very professional, kind and considerate. The times that I have called them for problems that I have had, everything went well. I didn't have any problems in trying to seek help or even get things resolved. One time my cameras weren't working. When I called them to explain, they sent somebody right on out to have it done. ADT has made me feel safer.

I got my system installed in October 2022. My cameras and system went down in November 2022. They set me up 3 times with a virtual technician and none of them had the knowledge to fix my issue. Finally 3 weeks later a technician came out and fixed it. I called to get 3 weeks of credit added to my account. I was told that a billing manager would call me. Waited for 2 months and called again. They told me they would give me $8 credit for 3 weeks of agitation. I thought they were better than the company we were with but not certain now. Once they get your business you mean nothing to them anymore. I hate this company.

ADT was more reliable and professional. Instead of me going in the store trying to buy a camera, I went with them. I love working with them. If I have an issue inside the house, I would pick up the phone, I don't have a problem with anybody who doesn't know what they're doing. They got the right answers. Just know that they will ask you about all the equipment, number of sensors you need promise you a monthly cost that includes equipment and install and then show up and ask you for thousands of dollars for 1/4 of what you discussed on the phone. Installer didn’t even have the equipment we requested when he showed up. It’s the old get in the door and then hit you with a real quote. Basic equipment costs for a 2 bedroom home we were quoted upon arrival of over 2k for just the equipment. Note that we don’t even own the equipment per the contract. A total scam.

ADT just upped my bill another $5. My husband had just passed away, and I can't afford to pay that anymore. It was coming to about $65. So, I'm in the process of seeing what to do about it. I've been talking to my son. So far, I haven't settled anything. I talked to a couple of ADT people this morning, so they're seeing what they can do about the bill. So far, ADT has done really well but I'm very dissatisfied with their price.

I signed a 3 year contract for ADT security systems and in the 2 and a half years that I had their service the system did not work properly the entire time. I called multiple times about the door and window sensors constantly going off for no reason. They sent me out some new sensors to install myself but the issues still persisted. Because of this I was never able to activate the alarm without it being triggered randomly. When I called them to cancel because I was getting nowhere with resolving the issues they of course still held me to the cancelation fee of ending the contract prematurely which I believe was unfair as I have been paying for a security system that I can't trust as it has never worked properly legally that is their right as I signed the contract.
So I said no problem I will pay the cancelation fee and any remaining balance in full so this would be my last interaction with them. I was told that I was payed in full and believed that this whole mess was behind me but a few months later I received a text from a collection agency stating that a bill from ADT was outstanding that needed to be resolved. I called ADT (was on hold for hours) and they told me that there was a bill for another month of service. I explained the situation and asked why I was not notified in any way of this outstanding bill before it was sent to collections and they stated that after a contract is canceled they only sent out paper mail (which I never received).
I stated that if they would be willing to remove the collections claim I would be willing to pay the outstanding balance but they stated that they were unable to remove the claim once it was summited. So in other words this will be a mark against my credit as even if I pay the balance it will be on my credit as a late payment. Thanks ADT. You really know how to provide your customers with quality service (extreme sarcasm). In short, if you would like to get a security system DON'T use ADT! I have used Vivint in the past and have had no issues with them but definitely don't use ADT and if you decide to cancel ADT service make sure this does not happen to you.

ADT's prices were decent. That's a big thing for me as I'm a senior and I need affordability and don't need people going up on the prices all the time. Also, they answer questions well. If you don't know something because you're older, they will walk you through it. If they can't resolve it, they will send somebody out.

The installation went smoothly. I even had to call the installer back because I had some questions. He came over and helped me. There was a little issue. I also had a smoke alarm go off. It was bad and I called. ADT was good about sending me a new one the next day and having someone come install it. I would recommend ADT.

Things are getting tough and people break in. I figured it was a good time to go ahead and start with ADT again. I talked with a woman on the phone and she then sent out a guy. He was awesome. I like my ADT system even though it's different from my unit I used to have. That's okay because I know things change and I've adapted to that. But we bought the cameras this time and I'm satisfied with all the cameras except the perimeter on one of them. Between me and my son, there's a road and the road goes back to two houses behind me. Every time somebody goes up that road, the system gives me a notification and I don't like that. I don't need to know every time somebody is visiting people back there. Other than that, I'm satisfied with ADT and I would definitely suggest it to others.

The salesperson who came to my house was outstanding. He was very helpful. I had recently been widowed and he understood my security issues. He came up with solutions for all of them. The installation people were fantastic. But ADT had originally given me a really good estimate and when they came out to install it, the techs discovered that I needed $1,200 more worth of equipment that wasn't part of the original bid. I was annoyed but not really surprised.
I've had two service calls since the system was installed. With the first one, we handled it on the phone, and the person was extremely responsive and helped me solve the problem. With the second issue, I was getting a message that a battery was running low, and then I was gonna have a systems problem. It turned out that the battery that was causing the issue was welded to my door frame. I called ADT and explained the problem. The first rep had no idea what I was talking about. But she referred me to the second rep who was very helpful. We tried a couple of things and she told me that I'm gonna have to move the battery connection to an exterior box. She said, “It's fairly simple to install. I could mail that to you and then we could give you directions or I can send someone out to do it for you.” I then said, “Well, my doors are 10 feet tall and I'm 5’ 2”. I better have someone come out.”
We scheduled the appointment. The tech was terrific. But there were two issues. I did not get a notification that he was coming until after he arrived. Also, the rep never told me that there would be a charge for that when she walked me through the options. The tech said that it was a $59 service call. That's obviously a snag in the system. Other than that, the installers were excellent. ADT has responsive employees but they are less than honest about the true costs.

I feel 100% secure since I got ADT. They not only send me a text, they call immediately. They would keep calling a few times, and they send the cops. There was one time the alarm went off. It said somebody was at the back door. The cops were here in less than two minutes. ADT only gives you so long to respond. And if you don't respond, something's wrong. But we've had three instances when a neighbor was at our door. She was pulling on the door. So, the door is very sensitive. You can't even pull on the door to try and open it if the alarm is on because the system is very sensitive. The signs alone that we put up outside our door is enough to deter people, because they don't know what we got going here.
Once the batteries were low. ADT came out immediately. They were very professional. They put little things on their feet so they would not track up our floors. I like them. We also have the carbon monoxide things in our house too, through them, because we have gas. So, any kind of gas or smoke, it would go off quickly. The rates are fair. I'm very satisfied. They're good service and I would recommend them 100%. There are many others that have it and they're happy with it too.

I have ADT at work and we've had them before in other places, and they've been pretty dependable. It's a well-known brand. I see a lot of signs around town and in houses. So, it speaks for itself. Signing up was a great experience. Everything they did for me was right the first time. I've had two different installation crews at two different times and both times, they were great, very professional, efficient, and cleaned up after themselves. As far as the alarm system, everything works fine for what I'm using it for. It's very easy to use. I would highly recommend ADT.

ADT was the only real security that I know of. When I received my package, it was supposed to have been less than what I paid for, but I'm paying more now. I needed security around my home so I just went on and let it be. But I'm always having a problem with my keypad and it shouldn't be that way. I have called ADT at least about three different times to correct the problem. The techs came out to look at it and they changed the battery out again. Also, I had been coached in trying to start some of the products myself to ADT. But other than that, I like to have my service uninterrupted regardless.
I would love for ADT to do a survey on the material that they are issuing out to the consumer and make sure that it's working properly, doing what it's supposed to do. They don't have a problem in getting paid every month. I make sure of that so, I don't expect any problems with my system if I come in and my bell is flashing or I got a little red light on there, notification or whatever the circumstances are. I shouldn't have that.

When we moved to Friendship in November, we wanted to get a security system installed. We had good luck with ADT before so we called them and went back to them. The reps at ADT have been good. The first one who helped us get everything set up was terrific. I couldn't have asked for somebody better to work with. The second one seemed like she was still learning some of it. We got put on hold for a long time several times but she seemed to be new and there weren't any problems with her at all. She did okay. The installer was terrific. He came in, did his work and was very courteous. He took the time to explain everything to my wife so she'd understand it. He was very neat, professional and did a great job.
We’re very pleased with ADT. This system is a little better than the last one we had and we like it well. I need to learn a little bit more about it. I got it on my phone, but I don't have it on my iPad. I had 2 guys call me about two weeks ago and they said what they're doing is educating people on the ADT system. I wanted to find out if they were legit or not before I talked to them. But they said they would go through everything and go online with us and look at stuff and explain it. I hadn't been aware that ADT had a program like that, but he said it was something that is fairly new right now with ADT. My experience with ADT was excellent. Everybody was very helpful and knowledgeable for the most part.

We've been pleased with all the features, and we have recommended ADT to several people. The representatives have been easy to contact, and they have been very helpful whenever we needed them. Any issues we've had have been taken care of in a timely manner. One time, the battery for the entire system was dead, so someone came out immediately to fix that. My husband had done something with the codes as well and the technician was able to talk him through it. We also had some workers come in to do some work and they set off the alarm. We were able to talk with a representative to get the alarm turned off quickly.

I've been with ADT for a long time and when you've been with somebody for so long time, you'll be comfortable with them. ADT has been good and they are reliable. When the alarm goes off, I get a call and the police will be out here. I like when they respond. They have a good response time. I bought some doorbell cameras out here. But I might need some more later on and I might go with ADT security.
Another company came around saying they can beat or match ADT's price. They say their item is better and that they can give more for less price because ADT might be a little high. But I tell them, "Hell no." ADT is $5, $10 more than their price and they can improve on that. But that aside, at least they have all the yard sign and they come out to you. You also get to look on your phone. Security is okay too.

The tech who installed my system was very clear and happy to show me what I needed to be shown. He was also very polite. I'm satisfied with the package I purchased. But something with our internet and ADT had to come out. I wasn't too thrilled with the tech and that I had to pay almost $300 to get that done. He was kind of rough but he did the job.
Other than that, ADT has been great. I've had to call back and everybody was very pleasant. I got a new phone and I had to set everything up. So, I didn't remember all my passwords. The rep helped me with my password. She was very easy to work with. I'm very happy with ADT.

ADT provides a phenomenal service. The system works for us. We have a keypad. It's wireless. We use our phones to set the alarm in the area that we're in. It's been getting a little dicey lately. But even when my wife opens up the garage door and closes it, we're able to monitor the beeping. It's simplified for us, which makes it phenomenal.

ADT is the best on the market. I love the way they do their work. My installer was also absolutely wonderful. I like the in-house big screen. You can look at what's going on. You can see the people and the cars outside. I also have the mobile app. I can do anything. I can close my garage. I can open it when I'm driving 10 miles away from my home in case somebody needs to get in there. It's state-of-the-art. I feel safe, especially every night I go to bed. I am so comfortable knowing that if somebody tried to break in and steal anything, I would be contacted immediately. I had been contacted one time.

They've been very helpful. The system is doing okay. We had a power surge and two of the cameras went out, but they came right back up the next day. My driveway camera is not picking up all the way to the end of the driveway, which is about 30 feet. When somebody pulls in the driveway, it might not show. But it will show every now and then.

I had an excellent experience with ADT. However, I had to call them back and ask them some questions after the tech installed it. He didn't explain that to me. Another time, it went off a couple of times. I don't know what happened because we didn't do anything. We were in the bed and the thing just went off. They also charged me too much money for the camera. That damn thing is $300. They put it in the back there so I can see the patio door 'cause I got sliding doors on the back. However, they should have given me an infrared 'cause if I don't have the light on back there, I can't see. It's cloudy. Also, my ring door sometimes will pick up people when they come, but it doesn't show up when they leave.

I chose ADT because when I was looking around for a system, they seemed to be the best one. Throughout the time I've had it, they have provided good service and helped me when I had problems. The features are easy and the stuff lasts a long time. They come and update the stuff when it needs to be updated without me calling. They'll just call and say I need to schedule an appointment and we need to do whatever. They do a good job all the time. I had no problems with them.

My husband and I had ADT at our home. So, I got it where I moved to after he died. I've had good service. It's got all I need for my use. I like the keypad. I like how I can turn it on, and then turn it off really easy. I just have to use my password. I used to be able to use my phone but I'm having to cut a lot of cost down because of the economy right now, but I did like it a lot. I like that I've got the chimes on my door, so I can tell people are walking in or out. I probably don't take advantage of everything that it offers, but I do like what I do use of it. The only thing I don't like are the batteries. They go dead about 3:00 in the morning and that drives me crazy.

The rep was knowledgeable, respectful, and I liked what he was selling. ADT came in to install the system, and they knew what they were doing and gave us everything we asked for. I'm well satisfied with the system. The rep didn't leave us any signs when he first came out, but a couple of months later, I requested them and ADT sent them out.

My ADT service package includes a couple of motion detectors and sensors on the window. I was away from my house during the hurricane season and it was windy. My laundry room window was going off, and they notified me. They called the police to come out and check because they couldn't get ahold of me. Everything was fine. The only complaint I have with them is it's hard to get through to them if it's not an emergency. Other than that, I'm very pleased with them.

Setting up with ADT was pretty painless and I never had a negative experience when contacting them or with them coming to my house to make a fix here and there. When they come out, they give you a window and it's better than most places nowadays where a lot of people want to give a six-hour, an eight-hour or a four-hour window. ADT gives a two-hour window and the technician makes a phone call when he's leaving one job then gives you an estimated time of arrival.
When I had an issue where I felt the need for security system in my house, I went and talked to various police officers and they told me that if I wanted the best, I should contact ADT. I also don't really know of any other national company that has went ahead of them in these last 28 years. They have a lot more to offer me and they have camera systems, an additional security stuff that I haven't taken advantage of. But if I'm ever in that business that I would think about putting a bunch of cameras and go a little more high tech, I would put them in on the bid process and see what they could do or what they would recommend for my specific property.

I like this service package. It came with a lot of other features even though it's costing me and I got to pay for it. I got a new keypad that’s flat splat and battery operated. It also came with a camera, and a fire detector. ADT was very quick in notifying me that my alarm went off.

The customer service reps that I have dealt with have been very pleasant and have tried to help. However, ADT has changed a lot over the years. They have grown so big that they could do something about their pricing. When you're on a fixed income and you've been with them for years, if you need something done, service-wise, they could do that free of charge instead of charging you to come out and do that. Because those are incentives enough for me right now just to say, “Take it out. I don't want it anymore.”

The system was already in the house when we bought it and then, we upgraded it because it wasn't active. It was just sensors and keypads and we changed a few things out. The guy came out, looked at it, and gave us a quote and then, they came out. The cost is good but my number one complaint about it is the door chimes are so loud. We've asked them and we can't reduce them. They're kind of obnoxious and most of the time, we just take the chimes off. I wish they had a softer chime.

ADT came in, did what needed to be done. Everything was taken care of professionally. I have the keypad. I have the monitoring on the main level and in my basement, because my basement is underground. It lights up if somebody is downstairs, and that's what I wanted. One of the windows is above ground so in case it gets broken into, I wanted that, and it works perfectly. Everything works fine.

The installer explained everything and went step-by-step how to use it and what he was doing through the phone app. It was late when he came and he stayed until almost 3:00 in the morning. He made sure everything was up and running. I love the features of the system and it's very worth the money. It's not overcharged and they're really there when you need them.

ADT meets my needs and gives me a comfort feeling. I added the doorbell camera, which was something that came automatically with the number of years I was with them, and that was a nice feature. Also, they're very responsive. When the battery went out, I called them and they sent me a battery with the video. I was a little bit nervous and when I got scared and called them, they talked me through it and it was very easy.

ADT’s customer service is very good. In fact, I just called them this year when they were raising my prices for the third year in a row, and I said, “Guys, this is not appropriate.” They agreed with me, and so they sent me back to where I wanted to be, so everything was fine. We did move our system to cellular based because it was analog, and they felt it would be better to be cellular. So, we agreed. Since we were able to work out our situation, they're good company.

I like the ADT system a lot. The cost is a little bit higher to what I was paying before, but I'm happy with that. I used to have some camera that are not clear, but these ones from ADT are really clear. I had to contact ADT when I was having an issue with my back camera because of the internet service. So, I had to get a Nest close to that camera. The only thing is I only got three cameras and I needed four, but they wouldn't budge on the fourth camera. They wanted to charge me. They said I wouldn't need it. I was like, “Well, it's like kind of a blind spot, really. It's the other side of the house.” If you kinda look at it, you could see if somebody’s popping from the back or from the front, but if they walked into the side of the house, I won't be able to see him at all.

We have the two main panels in the house, and I use the app a lot on my laptop and on my phone, so it's super easy. If I'm at work and I get a text that someone's in my driveway, I can just look at the phone and see who it is, whether or not everything's okay. So, it's really peace of mind. I like it. As far as the ADT reps, I have interacted with several of them. They are amazing to work with. They are very courteous and professional. They explain things well. They're super helpful if you call. I’ve called with the question about a battery one time. Most recently, our doorbell camera was sending me emails that it had a low battery alert but I didn't wanna take the system apart because it wasn't really clear about how it might come apart without breaking it. So, I just gave them a call, and they were able to help me on the phone. They actually set me up with a virtual technician call, which worked out really well. It was really easy to do, and we got the problem resolved.

I have a good security. I sleep. I can leave my home because I know I have my alarm on. It's better for me now.

Sometimes the cameras go offline and I don't get the video. If I check on my phone and don't see any video of where the cameras are, then I know it's gone offline. But it always went back or else, if I called, it was fixed. The system works well most of the time and I have a feeling of security and responsiveness from the company.

My installer went over everything and told me everything about the system. The work took two hours and everything was nice. One time, I couldn't get something going on with my keypad. Customer service walked me through it. There was also a time I tested the system. Something was going off and they walked me through it too. It's been three years that I've been with ADT and everything has been good. Get ADT.

After being a loyal customer for 7 years, I recently moved. ADT is now charging $566.63 for the equipment I left behind. The new owner already agreed to take over the service, and while he was able to take over the service, the monthly equipment charge is not transferrable I was told. That makes no sense. They're having me pay for equipment that I'm not going to use. I called customer service and they didn't want to or were unwilling to help. Stay away from ADT.

Dealt with two online technicians who were outsourced from India. Could hardly understand their English and nothing they had me do solved the technical issue. Called a Customer Service person and had to wait 20 minutes on the phone. The connection was very bad and this caused communication problems with both ends. The Customer Service representative was rather disrespectful and curt with me because I could hardly understand what he was saying and he kept having to repeat himself. I attempted to apologize but he said and I quote, "With all due respect, I have fulfilled your request to have a technician come out and I do not accept your apology." Need I say more.

Customer service was very friendly. They answered all my questions, and the sales guy that came amplified really good confidence, like ADT is a good, solid company. Installation was smooth too. They tested the system and everything worked fine. The app shows me who's at the door when it senses something, which is good. The problem is that, right now, I'm having an issue arming the alarm. It keeps telling me that the living room 2 had been tampered with, and I live by myself. I tried to get ahold of the guy that sold the system to me, but he moved on. I don't know how I am gonna get a tech out there or what they need to do. Overall though, they did really good service. I'm happy, and I would recommend them. I had people call ADT three times already.

I've asked ADT 10 times to cancel it and they haven't done it yet. I have a 60-day warranty guarantee. Then they decided to say, “Oh, that's only the technician has to come out three times for the same problem.” I have had him out for other problems but not three in a row for the same thing. The camera was not doing what it was supposed to. It was going off for every single thing. About every five minutes, I was getting a notification for nothing. Then if the alarm went off, I accidentally opened the door before I turned it off, and it would get to the bad part, the siren part and they didn't call. I held it in my hand the last five times to see if they were going to call but no one called to see if we were okay. And the police never came.
Also, I have really expensive windows. The tech took the motion sensor for the bedroom and he drilled holes in the pane of my window and put it on there. They also took all the stuff that I had before. They told me it was normal to do that. I don't think it is normal to take someone's property. It was also difficult getting a hold of them.

My ADT system is not working. My doorbell doesn't work and I don't get any calls. They said it might be the battery. Then, the guy had me go out and he said, "Just take it off and put it on the charger." They never gave me a charger. He said it was in the box. There was no charger in my box. It didn't come off. I said, "This is attached to two wires." He said, "Why is it attached to two wires?" I said, "I don't know, I guess it's attached to two wires." He said, "Put it back on there." Then he transferred me and that was when it began. I was transferred five times. They finally transferred me to a person that was supposed to come out. He said, "We don't have any information on you. We don't know who you are. We can't come out." So he transferred me back to ADT yesterday, and then, they sent me, "Your whole time is whatever." I left it alone last night.
I called again today. But when I called the billing, they answered right away. I told the lady what the problem was, and she said, "Well, no. I have the same one you have, you don't have a charger with it." The tech was supposed to come. They called to make a virtual appointment, and they said, "You have to have a smartphone and this Google app." I don't have any of that. I have an Android, so I just canceled it.

The installers did a really good job, and I like the sensors. However, I got cheated. I was supposed to get a free Ring doorbell and I was looking forward it, but I didn't get one. ADT didn't tell me, and my sister got hers. When I went to ask about it, it was a big mess, but they ended up fixing it. We talked it over and they took care of me. Go through everything, check with ADT and make sure you get what you're getting.

My experience with ADT was excellent. I called their main 800 number, then they had a guy from close to my home call me. The gentleman I spoke to works out of his house, and he worked around my schedule. The guy that came out and put the system in was fantastic. I added a feature, and that was great. I love that I can view the camera on my phone, and I like the monitoring. A lot of companies don't monitor and will call the police. The gentleman I spoke to was very personable. He gave me his personal cell, so if I have any issues, I can text him. ADT is a big company, but they brought it down to earth, so I was very happy. Right now, everything is perfect, and I referred somebody.

My house got robbed, so I started searching for home security systems. I liked ADT because of the saleswoman, Donna. She came out and sat down with me within a week after my house got broken into. She showed me everything they offered and went over everything with me. She was really good, and I liked the presentation. It was old school. Some of the other companies I contacted wanted their technician to come out. They didn't have a salesperson that would come. It was high pressure sales tactics. One company even wanted some money up front on the phone before they would send somebody out, and I didn't wanna do any of that.
ADT put together a price, then within a week, I had their system. The installation went good, and I like the ease of arming and disarming the system via the app on my phone. That works out really well. On the other hand, the glass breakage sensors are really sensitive. They go off when you drop something. The alarm's off, but it has a thing where if you open up a door, it'll say your front door is open. Everything else is fine. I feel good about the system, so far, and I've referred a few people already.

The installation of our ADT went smoothly. The guy was very nice and informative. He told us everything and how to do it. However, the camera's out there and it says, "Front doorbell offline." But I've been having problems with the cable. I like that when I dropped a pot and a glass, it said something on the alarm, "Glass break." It works perfectly. I'm very satisfied.

The ADT Representatives have been good. But the product hasn't been good. I'm waiting for them to call me back now. They agreed to it. But I haven't heard from them. I understand one of the bosses is sick and has to make the final decision. But the product here versus when it was in my house for 15 years, it's just not as good as it is in a condominium. This security system that was installed keeps calling off on Wi-Fi. I have a lot of other computer systems here so it wouldn't be my system here. It's their system. ‘Cause all the other computers, none of them go through this kind of stuff.
I was determined that they would give me a new one. But they haven't gotten around to doing it. They haven't called me. But it's only been a week. But they gave me a good deal on the hardware. They considered I was a customer for many years. When I go out or if I go out of town, I set my alarm and go about my business. Now I live in a gated community. But, I still like the fact that I have this ADT system. It's a good product once they install the proper one.

Would leave a zero star if possible. Battling with ADT for 2 years now, trying to keep my 93 year old mom safe and secure. Cameras never working right, video clips don't work, no one knows what they are doing. Completely inept, uninformed, unskilled, and basically useless people - from tech support, to customer service, to installation, to field managers, to corporate ** artists. Honestly, I think they pick up day laborers on the street corner and say, "Hey you want to work for ADT for the day going from house to house and never fixing anything?"
The "Property Brothers" should be in jail for promoting this sham of a company. They take your money every month, never fix anything right, cancel appointments, or just don't show up, or send repair people who claim to only know about different devices and they leave. Running neck and neck with Optimum for being the absolutely worst company in the United States. Run away, run away fast and please do not ever get involved with ADT.

The installation went well. The guy that did it was the guy that put it here at my parents' house. He's very professional. At first, I was having problems with it because it wasn't connected to two parts, that back door and a window in the kitchen. He came back and fixed it. The system is very secure. I like it. If I get a notification, I can look on my phone to see what's going on.

I don't like that I have to keep charging my doorbell camera every two weeks. When it was installed, the gentleman said that we didn't have to charge it for months.

I had an ADT system in California. When I moved here, I got another system. I like the it. It's simple. It works and it's not hard to keep functioning. It's reliable. I like the level of service too. They respond very quickly. They try to address the issue over the phone and if they can't, they send someone out immediately.

I had a positive experience with my ADT sales rep and their intallers were very nice. I've been a customer for six years and I'm very happy with it. I like that they monitor things so well. I can monitor things on my phone too.
