    We had a break-in and my purse was stolen. I had no way to pay for an ADT system since my credit cards were gone. But ADT installed it anyway and told me to call them to set up billing when my card was replaced. Working with the reps was seamless. Where I wanted the keypad was not going to work. The salesman took the time to explain to me why it wouldn't work and what he needed to install it. The system has wonderful features. When we have to call them with a question or an issue with the system, they're very responsive. We had a problem with the mobile app so we called them. They worked with us and it was fixed. We haven't had a problem since.

    Two years ago, we had an increase in our bill and I called them saying, "I can't afford the increase. I am a senior citizen on a fixed income." They said, "No problem," and they lowered my bill to less than what I had originally been paying.

    We were with ADT for three years initially. Then we left and went to other cheaper alternatives. But we went back to ADT six months ago. They seem like they're on top of everything. We never had any issues with them responding, not only to alarms but also to any updates or any issues that we had. We had our home broken into. Ever since we've had an alarm, we haven't had any issues. Their response time seems to be adequate. We're happy with the way they run their business.

    We had a couple issues with the key fobs, and they helped us over the phone. They sent a service rep out, and we got everything corrected. Everything's going along fine now. ADT has been good for what we've needed. We're quite satisfied with what we've got, and when we had a problem, they worked with us. Trying to get through the menu when we call companies gets to be a little frustrating, but that's just the way the world is now. People have to go through the menus. Once we get hold of a human being to talk to ADT, things go along very smoothly. We'd recommend them if anybody asked.

    I've had ADT for years, and I'm satisfied with the features. A couple of times in all the years I've had the system, it's gone off and nothing was there, but they said that can be flies flying around the stuff. Besides that, the system is everything I need. It's working for me, and I don't have any complaints. When I had a door replaced and needed some more stickers, the reps were helpful and sent me everything I needed. They helped me on the phone with how to do everything, and they were very nice and informative. I'm also satisfied with what I'm paying now. They raised the price at one point and I was gonna cancel it, but then they dropped it.

    ADT is a good company, and I've had very good experiences with them. The price went up a bit and I haven't had a chance to call them to ask why, but other than that, I like the customer service. I've had several techs come out, and they've always done what I wanted them to do. They were very courteous and they always identify themselves with their badge. They've always been professional.

    I feel protected with ADT. I'm connected with the phone and my computer, and I can turn my system on and off wherever I am. That's a good feature, and I'm satisfied. If at least I forgot to turn the system, on, I can always check to see and turn it on. ADT sends me an email saying, “Your system is working properly.” I also know the system works because, on a few occasions, I just cracked the door without turning the system off and the whole community went up in sound.

    The sales rep was very friendly, came to the house, walked through things, and figured out what we needed to join with the current system that we had at the time and make our system even better. Sales promised something that tech wasn't aware of, but between two heads in tech, they figured out how to make the system work. It turned out really well, and the in-person service was great. On the other hand, I had a credit card compromised, and it took five different phone calls to get everything figured out. That was a little disappointing. Besides that, we've had ADT for a few years now, and it's been good. Everything seems to work just like it was advertised as.

    Everyone that has ever come out has been able to handle the problem that I've had. They were very courteous and knowledgeable. Any time there was a charge involved, they explained to me exactly what it was and how I could pay it. There was one time when the system said that the batteries were going out in one of the locations. But I couldn't find where anything was that have a battery in it at all. So a person came out and looked and showed me what it was, and was very courteous about it. Also showed me what the battery looked like, and suggested that I change them every so often. Now that I know where they are, I can do that. I've always been satisfied with ADT, and I'm still happy with the amount that they charge.

    Get ADT because it works. The total package is good, and the price was reasonable. I've had ADT since 2011 and they've always abided by my needs and help me with this. I've also got it for my son and daughter, and my daughter still has hers and she has added on, too. I have the home monitoring system, and I've had the Ring doorbell for two years. My inside monitoring automatically kicks in, and the Ring doorbell is good as long as it stays online. So if the Wi-Fi went out, the doorbell would too. That happened to me one time because my sensor on my car got stolen, I had the Ring but my Wi-Fi was out of something. The car was parked in front of the house, but we never saw who did it because the Wi-Fi was out.

    ADT has been very helpful with me and prompt. One time my doorbell would not work. The guy was able to guide me through it over the phone with a video view and tell me what to do with the doorbell so it would start back working. And once he guided me through it, it started back working. They didn't have to come out. I just had to be available for the phone call.

    I didn't know my alarm went off one time. ADT called because I was in my bedroom with the door shut. I didn't hear the alarm going off, but I was asleep too. And when I answered the phone, it was, "Your alarm is going off." And when I opened the door, I could hear it. And come to find out, my nephew had opened the door in the basement because he didn't know the alarm was on. So that helped me to understand, if you go down there, you better not touch that door.

    ADT sent me a battery for my keypad. I didn't know how to get the battery out and that was a pain in the butt. But I was able to do it. They would charge me money to send somebody out to fix a battery. I've had a security monitor with ADT for 28 years. I thought they should have done it as a free service. My keypad still isn't working right because the trouble light is always lit on the panel, but it seems to work.

    I've been with ADT at my previous house. I was in it for 13 years. I've been with them for over 35 years if I count both houses. My interaction with their reps has always been positive. If they have a new product, they just present it in a clear and lucid way. Then I make a decision whether or not I wanna buy the product. The system works great. It's one of the more basic systems, and it works every time. If I have any problems with the system, I usually call ADT to be preemptive and try to get them to take corrective action, and they usually do. I like that you can set the alarm. The inside, outside option, while you're in the house. If you want to roam around the house, you can. Then set it when you leave the house, so if any roaming takes place, they'll pick it up. I also have a glass break. All the doors are appropriately wired, so our sense of security is very good. I would highly recommend ADT.

    ADT gave me a good rate. We've been with them for a long time. But after a year, they raised the rate. I called them back and they never raised it again. They lowered it back to the old rate and I still pay that. I have no problem with them. They're good. I've talked to them on numerous times when we had a battery problem. We had a power failure and then the battery would kick in. After a while, the battery would go dead because it only has so much. Then it would take a long time to charge up. We got a new battery but I had to pay for it. But, that's what it is. I like that they're easy to get ahold of and they answer the phone. Since having the system in our home, I feel confident. We were in Arizona and we got an alert. The police came out and checked everything and said it was just a bug that climbed over one of the sensors. There was no issue at all.

    Our system alerts me every time someone leaves, comes up or passes by the house. It went off one time, but we got it before someone came out. At one point, I had a new internet box put in and it threw everything off, and then my camera system wouldn't show up around the house.     The signup experience was excellent. It assured me that they knew what they were doing. Every time I've contacted ADT, I've gotten a rapid response. The last time though, I had a battery failure notice and I talked to 12 different people over three months to get it figured out. Over that time, I had purchased a ton of batteries. I finally found the right batteries but when I opened the device and closed it up again, it worked. I didn't even have to put the battery in. So, the device had gotten knocked off wonky.

    I miss the fact that people would come to the house 'cause a technician would've figured that out months before. It's hard to solve problems online, especially when somebody like me never sees these devices and doesn't recognize that it has been knocked off about half an inch from the door. Also, we stopped setting the alarms at night a year ago because our dog kept wanting out and it was a big pain. I contacted ADT at the time and said, "We're gonna just not have the service anymore 'cause the only thing we're using is the smoke alarm, which I love. "And they said, "Oh, we'll give you a lower price because you're not using it and you always did the work." Other than that, the system has given me peace of mind. As I get older, it fills the gap of not being able to hear and see things on my own all the time.

    ADT has been very good. I just have one problem. They've sent techs out over the years and they can't seem to get my front door right. I can set my alarm outside after I've already closed the door, and it's fine but if I try to set it on the unit itself and then come out of the house and shut the door, then the alarm starts within 10 minutes and here comes the police.

    The first tech said he thought it was the motherboard, but nothing ever happened with it. It's still here. They did not change the system. He said he didn't have the system with him, and that was the last I heard of that. Another one came and said it was the sensor on the door. They changed the sensor on the door, which didn't make any difference. Then the third one came and he said, "I'm gonna change where it's positioned on the door." So, he changed where it was positioned and it still doesn't make any difference. It's weird. You cannot set it off of the box in the house. I can set to stay in the house, but I cannot shut that front door and go out after I've set it.

    I'm satisfied with ADT because they've really worked with me. I'm old. I'm on Social Security. If it gets too high and I can't afford them, they always give me a deal to have coverage that I can't refuse. They're great there, but there's just something about this system that don't work really well. Overall, I feel safe. If I'm staying in the house and going to bed, I can set it. If I leave, as long as I got my phone, I can set it outside.

    The house that I bought had ADT in it. So, we just stayed with them. I had to switch things over. The system I had was the old system. So, they upgraded to the touchpad. I got the glass breaks in. I got the door camera, and I got a camera on the outside and one on the inside. I can monitor the cameras on my iPhone. One time, I was cooking something and the fire alarm went off. They called me and I told them what had happened. So, they didn't send the fire department out. I enjoy ADT. I like the coverage I got.

    When I was in need of a security system, I thought that ADT would be a good company that I could go to. I wasn't satisfied with the experience with my previous monitoring company, and I decided to give ADT a try. Since I've been with them, I'm 100% satisfied with the way they conduct their monitoring. I like the equipment that I had installed with the cameras and the keypad. I like the way the system works.

    I've had just a few issues with the camera going offline and we handled that over the phone. They walked me through how to get the camera back online. I'm comfortable with it because I'm mechanically inclined and I can follow instructions that they gave me to get it to work. If the same thing happens again, you still have to contact them so they can do some things on their end to get the camera reset and everything. Anytime I've contacted them, I've always had the issue resolved and they always answer my question.

    I'm confident that ADT is a good system and it works well for me. One thing that I like about it is even when I'm away from home, I can go to the app and monitor my cameras. I like that I get an alert if something goes wrong or if there's an intruder on my property, I can just take a look at it. Also, if somebody's at my doorbell, I can speak to that person through that. When I'm away from home and if somebody rings my doorbell, then I get an alert. It brings up the person and the camera will focus and I can see who it is. If I wanna review the past or any incident, when the camera picks up anything, I can go back and review it. I like that part of it.

    I've been with ADT and just stayed with them. It has been great. Currently, my system is not working. There’s some kind of defect with it. And due to COVID, ADT wasn't able to come in. But it needs to be replaced because it's so old. And I haven't been able to get them in because I had an electrical problem from the storm, which I can't afford to fix now. But they reduced the billing because of that. Twelve years ago, ADT didn't realize that my house had been breached. I called and they said, “Would you like me to call the sheriff?” I said, “You think?” That was bad. There are many other companies out there that are higher tech. I would probably go with them.

    Every once in a while we would have an issue, but ADT was good to get it resolved. The got into the issue and got me restored as soon as possible. My cameras have gone down. I've called in and the service person could walk me through procedures on my pad to get things reset and boosted. It would take a few minutes. And she walked me through things and asked questions. I would answer. We would go through the process of elimination. And most times, we could fix it without a technician having to come out. They're all very knowledgeable and helpful. I can tap into my system and see what's going in the home. I can look at the history of what is taking pictures of and I can get the live view. I can arm and disarm from being away from home. So, it's good. I would highly recommend it.

    30 years ago, I chose ADT. They're very pleasant, wonderful to work with, courteous, cooperative with their customers, and there to serve you as a customer. I'm very pleased with them. Their clientele is good, and they keep their customers. The system has been upgraded and it works well for me. I get a quick response time if I don't put something in right or if I push something and it hasn't registered correctly with their system. They do call the police and that's wonderful.     My wife has dementia leading to Alzheimer's. I wanted an alarm to both reassure her that nobody's getting in at night and I wanted to make sure that I could tell when she left the house. So, I went online and looked for an alarm and ADT popped up. I said, “Oh, let's give it a try.” We got a visit by one of their representatives. We talked it over. He mentioned the medical alert system. I said, “Ooh, that sounds very, very good.” Because I am going to be 80 years old in May and my wife is 77, and there is a possibility that we may need the medical alert at some point.

    ADT was our first and only connection that I liked a great deal. It was reasonable. We had everything set up for auto pay. But then I had fraudulent card problems. And the auto pay has had to be redone four times. As far as the ADT system, I like very much the controls that are here. The controls are right under what we have that's known as the dementia clock so that we can both check what's going on and also the temperature, time, and date. It's in our living room. We have everything but a camera.

    ADT's rep sold us everything he could. He took advantage of us. He kept pushing, "You need this. You need that." And the next guy that came in said, "You didn't need half of this." Everything's all nailed up and there are holes in the wall. They messed up my bedroom wall. If ADT doesn't subcontract, they're okay. But when they don't send their own people, I would have problems. They aren't friendly and don't do the job right. Somebody has to come back and clean up their dirty work. Everybody's nice when I call. It's just that we had some problems in the past when they didn't call. And they started calling immediately the minute the alarm went out, like if we let the dogs out and accidentally forget to turn the alarm off. Or they would call the police right then. I called and said, "You can't do that. You gotta give us a minute."

    We're having some problems. I've always pushed the second button when I leave to put the alarm on and it would start sticking and give me a minute to get out, and that's not working right. One night that alarm went off, nobody called back. It was going off for a long time. And there was a problem with that little triangle going on all the time, which wouldn't go away. That's not supposed to be on there. But ADT just wants to send somebody out here and charge me.

    I'd recommend ADT. It gives me a peace of mind not only for someone breaking into the house, but it has a fire and carbon monoxide detectors. That's an added bonus. The system is simple to use and I've been able to do the upgrade one time to it. There are a couple more out there, but they seem to think that this system is good and it's working for me. So, "If it's not broke, don't fix it." The service department has been adequate, and the rates I have are very good. So, I've stayed with them for all those years. They are always friendly and quick to respond. We've had some malfunctions on the system that caused an alarm to go off, and some of it was my fault. I knocked loose the sensor before I left and didn't realize it, and it fell off and it went off. ADT sent me a text and a phone call.

    We had ADT years ago when we first got our alarm, and they are the best in the business. So when they came back into our area and they bought the third alarm company that I had, I jumped at the chance to go back with them. They're a Class A operation. They know what they're doing, very thorough, and attentive if I have a problem.

    They made everything digital, and brought it up to date. They had to change the computer box that runs the whole operation. They wanted to bring it up to their standards. The guy came in. He worked for an hour. And each time I called them, they would send me over to the box. They would work it on their end, tell me what to push. It's almost like somebody taking over my computer to make sure my computer runs perfectly. Also, the system came in with signs. I had a door sensor that didn't work. They sent me the sensor, told me how to put it on. When my fire alarm chirped a bit, and it was the one that's hotwired, they sent somebody out to check it out and change it. I had a wonderful experience. They are very eager.

    ADT has always answered or corrected. They showed me how to turn the system up loud, and I could be anywhere in the house and it would go off. I feel safe because I know it goes off. It's plugged in, but it also has a cell phone that in case the lights go off. That makes me feel good, because some of it, I would have to have internet for it to work. But with ADT, it has the backup cell. Sometimes the lights go out, but I can still go to bed realizing that I will be notified if someone came into my house.

    I have an alarm on every door, window, everything in my house, including a motion detector. I can set it up as I leave. I can take it off and on when I'm away from home and it works well. I've even had family members that I gave codes to that could get in and out. When I'd be by myself and go to bed, I'd have the motion detector set as away. I had my grandson come in, didn't turn it off. He forgot to put his code in. The alarm went off to let me know somebody was here.

    I've had a good experience with all of ADT. The system works for me. When you open the door, it gives you an alert which is helpful. I can look at all my doors.     The ADT reps I dealt with were very knowledgeable and explained everything to me fairly well. Recently, I had a notice in my system saying that I had a device that went bad. I called the service number and they were able to set up an appointment for me to move it up another step, the advanced step. They called me back the next day and we were able to get it fixed.     I was with ADT for over 20 years combination. Initially, what I did was shut the system down, and then a few years later, I wanted it back on again, but it took a whole month of Sundays to get it connected properly. It had to do with some franchise jurisdictional problem. I got in the middle of that, unfortunately. But ever since I've been tied up with ADT, so far, I've had no problems at all. It works fine. One time, I received a phone call saying that one of my sensors was malfunctioning. They sensed motion in one of the parts of the house, but they had no penetration alarms. So, they thought it was a defective sensor, which it was, and that ended up getting replaced. Once that got fixed, I haven't had any problems since. It works well, so far. I haven't had any break-ins and I alarm the house every time I leave unless someone's in the house.

    They went over the options of what I wanted to choose and the specifics of the house. We chose a package that we found appropriate for our new home. The installer was amazing. We liked him a great deal, had a sense of humor and was a dog owner. We had a dog, so he was quite entertaining and got the job done. My favorite is the doorbell camera. We had a power outage and had to change our Wi-Fi. It was very difficult to reconnect it to the new Wi-Fi. So we called ADT and they helped us through that.

    If I ever had a problem, they were very good to deal with. I never had a problem with them. Their customer service has always been helpful. The system works like an alarm system should work. My favorite feature would be that I could set the alarm on my phone if I forget to. The control panel broke one time.     ADT is more expensive than any of the other services, but we've always used them and we find them successful. I had ADT when I lived in Baltimore and continued it when I moved to Delaware almost 30 years ago. If we have problems with our ADT box, they would come pretty fast, if not immediately, the next day.     The contract requirements were not explained to me at any time even though I asked clear and concise questions. I didn’t want my credit card used and was told it was for holding/insurance but it was used. l ($101.00). I was told the cc payment was removed but it was not. I didn’t ask for monthly auto deductions with my cc but they were added to the contract without my permission or knowledge. The install price was increased $60.00 without my knowledge. Multiple contract revisions were sent to me and then unacknowledged internally. I didn’t want financing but it was referenced as being in my contract several days later. I haven’t ironed out all the kinks, now several hours later and several interactions. I’ve written to the president. I’m disgusted.

    ***I submitted a complaint on 10/20/2023 and no one has attempted to contact me.*** I purchased my house through DR Horton and moved in in July 2022. Prior to that, I spoke to Safe Haven (who I was told was affiliated with ADT) and DR Horton had a promotion that capped my monthly cost at $49.99 for the duration of my contract term. I was also informed that through the promotion with DR Horton, I could cancel my ADT service at any time without penalty. The agent that I spoke to verbally in May/June 2022 and installation tech that visited my home in July 2022 consistently informed me my price was fixed and I faced no termination penalty.

    Fast forward a couple of months, my system doesn't work adequately. I contact ADT to cancel but they send a tech out to fix my faulty equipment. At no time was I informed that this was a Safe Haven tech, not an ADT representative. He again said that I could cancel without penalty (section 4 of the terms of service would not apply) and that my price would remain constant although my equipment was faulty. He still didn't fully remedy the issue. As time went on, my issues persisted but I elected to keep the service for a year. ADT's customer service is terrible and not resourceful. I have to pay to have a tech come to my home to review their equipment that hasn't worked since install.

    Today, on 10/20/2023, I found out that I was dealing with Safe Haven, not ADT this entire time. ADT sent me an email in June 2023 informing me of a price increase which was inconsistent with what I was told at enrollment. I did not agree to receive contractual communications by email. I am outside of the 30 day cancelation request window. I want ADT to release me from this headache of a contract immediately. I'm paying for a system that doesn't work after completing numerous troubleshooting steps. I do not want it. Their service is terrible all around. You have to wait 40 minutes to speak to someone, only to be told that they have to transfer you again. This decision was terrible. Release me without penalty!

    We got ADT for this house 23 years ago. At some point, we had a break-in and part of the reason was the installer did something so that part of the house wasn't monitored. And we had to make an insurance claim. And our insurance weighed us. So, we ended up paying for the break-in. Many years later, the prices kept going up. So, we decided to try and switch. I called ADT to tell them and they said, "Don't do that." And I had the most wonderful person. I had tried for years to get people to help me regarding that break-in and nothing happened. And I got this one woman and she understood that we had to spend a lot of our own money for the break-in.

    She was very responsive, had enough authority to authorize us getting a revamp. And we were so happy because this is a two-story house and we were able to add on a monitor where when you come in the house and you turn it on and off at our lower level, which enormously helped our old age situation. It was wonderful. She had somebody come out and give us a new upgraded system, which would normally have cost a fair amount of money. And we got some things that were much better. We got an extra door monitored and these other things. And since then, they've been great.

    We're retired, on a very fixed income, with everything going off every five minutes, and whenever it comes time to renew, I would call them up and talk to the people and they keep my bill stable so that it would not go up every year. So, they're helping the elderly, at least this elderly person anyway. So, we had a bad incident in the beginning, but they redeemed themselves after that. We're very satisfied with them. They rectified the problem in spate. So, they were very responsive.

    I was manipulated and lied to by multiple ADT employees: My experience began when I was signing up for a contract and was told over the phone by the sales rep that it would be 2 years. I agreed to it because I knew I would be in the house with the system for exactly 2 years. When I went to cancel the system 2 years later, I was told the contract was actually a 3 year contract and I had fines to pay if I wanted to cancel early. I was frustrated, but couldn’t deny the contract.

    The person I was communicating with on the day I was trying to cancel told me that there was a cheaper option than paying the fines: sign a new contract starting at my new location that was month by month. I was told I would have to pay for 2-3 months, then I could pay off the new equipment and cancel my contract. I was told by the rep that this would still cost money, but be less expensive than the fees associated with canceling my initial contract. We emailed about this understanding. Fast forward to now.

    1) Despite my old contract being void because I had signed a new contract, I was wrongly charged the fines for canceling the old contract (500$). I only noticed this fine because I was checking my credit statement, I received no notification. When I called to inquire about this and receive a refund for this wrong charge, I was routed to the wrong number SIX TIMES. I was provided with six completely different numbers from adt customer service reps to get me in touch with adt pro and every time they answered my call, it was an adt plus representative who would provide me with yet another incorrect number. I was on the phone for 2 hours before I finally was able to get ahold of someone who could refund me.

    2) After 3 months of paying for this new contract and all the hassle of getting my refund, I called to cancel my account and be done with adt. I was told that what I had been led to believe was a monthly contract was actually a 3 year contract and that the fines would be 1000$ if I canceled. I told the account manager that I had been lied to, that I never would have signed this contract had I known and that I would have simply paid the fines on the old contract, and that I wanted to speak to someone who could get me out of this contract. I was told that it would be passed to a supervisor and that I’d receive a call the following Monday… I never received a call. When I called on Tuesday, I was told that this account manager had never passed along anything and that there is no escalation process. I had been lied to again.

    It wasn’t until I mentioned email proof of this misleading that I was told there would be an investigation and I was treated differently. Even still, I was told there is likely no solution. I do not understand how it is legal to purposefully misinform a consumer and convince them to get into another contract under false pretenses. My fury cannot be put into words and the customer service has been horrendous. I would never recommend entering a contract with adt or trust anything that their salesperson tell you.

    I've been with ADT for years. I have paid them a lot of my hard-earned money to secure my home. It wasn't cheap because not only do I have the security system, I have the box, and all my windows and my doors are wired. I got everything set up where if I'm cooking and the smoke detector goes off, it's all connected with the Houston Fire Department and they're gonna call me and let me know if everything is fine in my home and I like that.

    My experience is phenomenal. If I got problems, they're right on top of it and for that, I'm very grateful. Everybody has always been professional and on top of their game and I like that. I like for people to be on top of their game. They're very knowledgeable and I like that as well because I'm smart and I like to interact with smart people knowing what they're doing and if there's ever a problem, it's always resolved.

    I had an incident last year where I was getting my house painted and I wasn't aware that the guy had moved the sensor that's on my door. I called and the guys got here to fix the sensor because the sensor was not registering with ADT. I was like, "Something ain't right here." So, the guy came out, fixed my sensor, and it's been good ever since. If any of my family members need a home system, I highly recommend ADT.

    My experience with ADT, so far, is generally good. As far as the customer service, usually, you can get somebody quickly to answer your questions. If I have issues with the system, they video in and can diagnose it. Since I first started with ADT, I added the porch camera. When they offered it, they said if you get their camera, it's free. But if you do Ring, you have to pay $3 a month. I said, “Well, free is free.” I just wanted free. I didn't want anything attached to it. So, I did do that.

    I contacted the customer service for a motion detector that was beeping. I didn't know why. It said, "Low battery." I had to call them and the rep told me it was the battery and she gave me the link. I can go on to MyADT and have it and just buy it from them or I can find them at Target and CVS. Also, the camera was going offline and it happened a few times. The camera has to be reset, and they walked me through.

    One time, they ended up having to come out because I couldn't get it to reset. The person who came was really good. ADT comes out every couple years for a maintenance to look at everything. They They go the extra mile. And if they have to come back and bring a part, they do. Our alarm went off one time due to the smoke from a shower. My daughter was taking the shower and she didn't realize it. Then the fire department was here. Also one time, I set off the panic button by accident. I pressed it. I used to keep it in my purse, and I set it off. The police were here within 30 seconds.

    The few times that we had to deal with ADT, they did what they were supposed to do but never did they go out of their way. I don't like that when the system goes off, you can't hear it. I contacted them about that and they just said that's the system itself. If there ever was a fire or somebody breaking in and we're upstairs and the thing’s downstairs, we'd never hear it. Most alarms, when they go off, you can hear it and you wake everybody up. A couple of times, I tripped it myself, going out the back door on the same floor to do something. I forgot to disarm it, and I couldn't hear it that well at all.

    I've got sensors on all my exterior doors and windows and the system works good. I have a special needs son, and he doesn't fool with the windows too often, but every so often, he'll get in the window in his room, just playing. He's not opening it, but he bangs on it. The system lets me know which window and to go back and check, making sure everything's okay. While we're sleeping at night, I have a peace of mind that he's safe and we're safe. If someone's looking for a home security system, I would highly recommend ADT.

    I have never had anybody come out other than when we first got it. I have a control panel by my front door and another one that was in a room I call my office. I had a guy come out, and we moved it from there to my bedroom so I can hear it better if it goes out at night. Several months ago, I got an email that said they'd update my system at no charge. I replied back, "Yes, I'm interested" but I never heard anything. I would like to update my system and get some cameras mounted on my house.

    Turns out ADT sales are via 3rd party vendors “Dealers” who use any means at all to make a sale. Any promises are ignored by Big Brother ADT. I recently moved and wanted to transfer my account. They DO NOT allow transfers! You are responsible for paying off the 3 year contract OR start over with ANOTHER 3 years at the new address. Otherwise they threaten “action” for the original agreement. So - I was forced into starting over. They REFUSE to honor the original agreement for equipment. I did have 2 outdoor cameras, doorbell camera, sensors and so on. My new address (same monthly fee) I get a doorbell camera and 1 smoke alarm. The doorbell doesn’t work half the time but they blame it on my internet. I’m stuck paying 3 years to a corrupt business. Do NOT use this company- Go with Ring or another DIY system.

Regardless of the account being set up via an authorize dealer or ADT corporate, any customer that is relocating services would be required to sign a new contract agreement. We cannot transfer the old contract as that is specific to the previous home customers are moving from. Additionally, any sales promotions or offers from a dealer will be different from ADT corporate as each offer their own promotions or discounts, that are not shared between other dealers or corporate.

    Do not trust this company, they shut off our paid in advance account and then sent an accelerated contract fee. $161 after 6 years. It was an error and they could only apologize. This was because we were moving, and asked to transfer the account. No one there cares anymore. Nothing they can do. Had a regional sales manager tell me it wasn’t his job, so we paid the fee. No way we will ever be back. You can’t work with people who don’t care about you. It is just a job and you don’t matter. Don’t trust them, because even if you meet someone who seems like they care, it is only a matter of time, once you are in the system, that it will be your turn to be robbed by ADT.

I tried to cancel and was told I would owe over 1k if I canceled before October. I told them to cancel me as of October 1. They make it impossible to cancel then continue to bill you beyond the contract. So you actually get ripped off by the company you hire to prevent it. Complete scam company.

    My alarm system is less than 60 days old. As a survivor of a home invasion and assault, I paid for a top of the line system with sensors, cameras, computer pads, the works - $3,000. After less than 60 days, the control panel is totally dead. ADT is telling me that they cannot get a tech to my house before 8 days have passed. My PTSD is quite pronounced due to the fact that I was jumped whilst asleep and beaten and assaulted in my own bed. Sleeping without an alarm system is not a viable option. I could probably have a new system installed prior to the time that their tech can get here, but ADT will not let me out of my contract. This is completely unacceptable and I will do everything I can to ensure that others do not make the mistake of utilizing ADT for their security needs.

    Prior to signing the ADT security contract, the sales person offered me the $30 monthly discount since I also have ADT solar. However, once the installation happened I never received the discount. Reached out to the sales person and he continued to come up with excuses that he is escalating to his managers, and never provided me with the supervisor's name to contact. I attempted to call ADT billing and requested to speak to a supervisor which I was transferred to billing again with a 65 minute wait time. I have proof which the sales person confirmed that I would receive the discount. I am really unhappy with their sales mechanism and clearly they were dishonest to get me to sign the contract at the time.

    The guy who sold me the system was amazing. He gave me his own personal cellphone number and said if I had any issues, to call him and he would take care of it. One of my cameras wasn't working.     We've been with ADT for a long time and everything has been good. We have a fire alarm and the burglar alarm with our service package. Unfortunately, there were no cameras back then and now, they want us to sign up for a whole new package and they're doing a couple of cameras. But then you got to sign up for five years and I don't want to do that. Other than that, their customer service has been excellent. Their price is a little bit high but everything is.

    We had a couple alarms go off on some of the windows because there was too much wind and the techs had to come by. They checked that out and since then, the alarms haven't done that anymore. I also had a problem with the keypad because it's been so many years already when we put it in that I forgot the numbers. But ADT's reps wouldn't give them to me for a long time. Finally, I got somebody and we went through it. She did all kinds of stuff because it was beeping at night like crazy. Somehow, she found the numbers and as soon as I heard the first two numbers, I knew that was the code. So now at least I know I can turn the alarm on and off.

    Aside from that, we had the fire department come a couple of times because when my wife was cooking, she walked away and when she got to go back in the kitchen, the smoke alarm went off. It went directly to ADT and the fire department responded in four minutes. But there was no fire. It was just smoke because all the water boiled out and the chicken got burnt. But they came and helped us set up where to put the fans.

    I contacted customer service twice for a battery and to ask how to change my password. They walked me through the process, and the rep was very friendly. I upgraded my system as well, and the tech was good. He cleaned up after himself when he drilled the holes in the wall. The upgrade was good too. The system works fine. If I lock myself out or don't get out in time, I hear the alarm and it's loud.

    I tell everybody to have a home security system. Somebody tried to break into my house. I have a yard sign and window stickers, but this person went through the back, so he didn't see it. However, the cops were on the scene within a short amount of time. I was also able to return home and nobody was found on the premises. ADT has a good response time with problems, and they call me if there are any issues. They're overall a very good company.

The system also lets me know if the alarm goes off and if I open the door or the door is opening. ADT's equipment is functioning very well, and they have great customer service too. Any time I need something and I call them, they respond. As soon as I call, it goes straight. If the line is busy, they'll ask me to wait, but then someone will come on the line. It's easy. Plus, if I don't want to wait, I can put my phone number in and they'll call me back. They work with me. When something wasn't sounding well, they troubleshot it for me and it was working. They still sent me a new battery in case I wanted to change it, and I put it in. So far, ADT has been great. I know that if anything goes wrong, it's going to ring and go to the police, and they're going to notify me.

    Everything works. My system prevented me from having a flood recently. It's a sensor near the hot water tank so that when the water hits it, it sends an alarm. Somebody from ADT called me because we weren't home at the time. So, they made sure to let me know about it. But somebody was actually home, so they went down to the basement and put a bucket under it until we could get a plumber in. So, it was a huge lifesaver. My office is doing a firewall and prevents them from logging on. ADT couldn't figure it out. They sent a tech out. We've always done very well with the techs. They've always been very nice. But I have to call my computer people. Other than that, I'm very satisfied.

    I've known about ADT for years. We had ADT before in another house. We've always had an alarm system. I've always had very positive interactions with every customer service representative I've ever spoken with. There was once that someone was here to fix our alarm system. It kept alarming, so he ended up changing the whole unit. I was also asking the gentleman about installing an alarm system, he said that he could, and he told me it was gonna be the price of the actual system itself. But when he called into the office, and then he came back, he said he couldn't do it. They wanted to charge several hundred dollars as an installation fee, although, the gentleman was already there.

    For our needs, our package features are comprehensive enough. I know every area could have a problem, but we live in a very nice area. We don't have cameras and motions because we don't really need them. Having the system helps me feel more secure at night once we come in and put the alarm on. Also, having that feature where you can hit the panic alarm if someone did come in and you could get to your system to hit that is a plus. The fact that if your alarm goes off, if you don't respond when ADT calls you, they would be sending out the police. We have a central smoke detector, too, so whether it would be the police or the fire company, we like that feature a lot.

    The only other issue we had was the sensor at our backdoor. There was one part that needed to be replaced because that sensor kept going off. When I called ADT, they were really good about telling me to do this, do that, and troubleshoot the problem. It's not difficult because you're sitting right in front of the keypad, and they walk you through it step-by-step.

    The ADT people offered a discount for us to get the system in because my husband was a police officer and we live at the end of a dirt road. It's isolated and there are no neighbors that you can see. We thought it'd be a good idea. We had ADT for a long time. Everybody has been good. I'm elderly and I had batteries out in the smoke detector which is up in the ceiling and some high motion detectors, and I was gonna have to hire someone to do something, and the last time I did that, the person I hired broke one of the sensors. So, I had to get ADT out here. The tech was so sweet and he put all my batteries in for me, and it was good. I've never had a bad experience with ADT.

    Our system is good. It's not fancy. Since it's an old one, it has been upgraded a few times, but it serves the purpose. It works for me. I've not called them very many times. I set the smoke detector off once, and the fire department met me as I forgot that I had left something on the stove. I was outside and was gonna go right back again but I saw weeds in my flower bed. I decided after I had done something to that to walk down to my mailbox, which is 2/10ths of a mile from my front porch. All of a sudden, these fire department trucks were coming up my road. They were really nice. It was just smoke. They put some big old fans in here and drew the smoke out.

    ADT was prompt in responding to our call and questioning them. They were prompt to get somebody here to give us a quote on setting up our security system. The system works good. When we have an alarm or a false alarm for something, they contact us very fast. I'm totally satisfied with their service. They're prompt when you have a question on a low battery.     My experience has been very good with ADT. It's serving the purpose that I got it for and it's going to serve a future purpose. I got it because of certain issues in my neighborhood with some of the neighbors. Having the 24-hour surveillance and the cameras really helped that situation tremendously. This is a relatively safe neighborhood. But because of the economic situation in our country now, we are starting to see vandalism, thefts, and things in the neighborhood. I'm right across from the village center. Unfortunately, that village center recently has been targeted. ADT with the cameras will be helpful with that.

    We recently had a car stolen in our community. It's a beautiful lakeside community. There was also an instance where someone threw something in someone's kitchen window and broke the glass. Windows and cars have been smashed and debris spread around the community. Because of this, I'm glad that I have the camera. I'm very grateful that I did what I did. ADT is not cheap but it's worth the cost.

    The installation of the camera was fine. We had one little issue but it was resolved immediately. The system is really working. One time a sensor fell down and because of that, it alerted ADT and that was in no time at all. I was on the phone with someone so they were not able to get through to me. A police officer showed up and I let them know what was wrong. It was corrected. That let me know that if I ever really do have an issue, the ADT security system is working because the police showed up almost immediately at my home.

    I liked ADT's service better before COVID. If anything was wrong, they would quickly come out. Now, with COVID, since all that happened, they don't really come out as much unless it's a dire emergency. They try to do a lot of stuff over the phone, so I just try to figure out stuff myself. If it's something going on with the system, I need a walkthrough. If something's going on with the panel or a sensor came loose, I just get that hooked back up or I get someone to come over, like a nephew or brother-in-law, and they do it for me.

    I had ADT's techs come out once since COVID. There was something going on with one of the cameras and the service ran me about almost $200. They were also saying that since I've had them for a while, they are now in conjunction with Google and with the equipment being better, I should advance to the new equipment. But since I pretty much try to make do with whatever, I'm not doing that. Also, when I first got them, I was telling everybody who was coming over about the new system that I got. ADT told me that if I referred so many people, I'd get XYZ dollars. But that didn't happen, and the people who I referred didn't get anything. So, I don't refer anybody anymore. Other than that, their price is phenomenal, plus their website is pretty cool and user-friendly.

    The system is great, and I have no complaints about it. I'm glad I got it. With the way things are going on around here, it's good to have. However, I was disappointed that ADT sent us a letter in the mail that was running a special. They included a Ring doorbell, but they didn't include it with ours. This happened about three months after we got our system from them. We called, but they said, "No, that wasn't included in our bundle."

    Customer service is a little slow, but when people wait 40 minutes, that's just a little too long. I know they're busy. They have a lot of customers to deal with, and I understand that they have to put people on hold. They answer the call in the order that they receive it. Other than that, they've done everything I wanted them to do. I've had several people call here and want us to change our security, but why should we get rid of something that doesn't need to be fixed?

    So far, everything's great with ADT. We had a hail storm and my sign got destroyed. We've also had issues because we had power outages in my area since the community was still new. Every time we did, the system would turn back on, then it would say that the front door was not registering. And every time I had that issue, I called my guy. He's my POC and if I have any issues, I call him. He then called and had somebody come out there usually within about a week.

    ADT is reasonably priced and they've got everything I need. I've got my doorbell camera which is attached, I’ve got a camera in the backyard, and I've got a camera on my back door, my garage door, and several on my windows. So, I don't really need anything else. I would tell others to get ADT. Their customer service is well above anything I've ever could have asked for and their products are phenomenal. Their website is not as friendly as I would like but maybe it's because I'm getting up in age.

    Other than that, last year, my wife and I went on a trip about three hours away, and my daughter, who was 18 at the time. was staying at home. We forgot about the system and opened the back door. Then she entered the passcode incorrectly and locked the system. I was very happy with the way ADT handled it. It was very professional and pretty cool. And any time there's ever been an issue, they call us before they call the boys in blue.

    I have been an ADT customer since 2004 – in four different homes. I currently replaced my windows and all of my sensors have been taken off. I had called back in August to get them put back on and maybe even to get some replaced as they are now 6 years old and a bit outdated. I was told that it would cost me close to $1000 for that. I decided based on today's technology and the fact that I live in a fairly safe neighborhood I would just start self monitoring my home. The sales person on the other end told me that she could discount my monthly bill and if I signed a 3 year contract she would waive the labor fee to re-install my sensors. I thought that was fair.

    The day the installers came to re-install my sensors they said they would not honor the free installation agreement. At that point I said thank you but no thank you. I called ADT to explain the situation and they didn’t really understand why the installers said this but she did tell me that unfortunately she could not get the installers to waive their fee. At this point I said thank you but please cancel my subscription. The sales person was very polite and understood and then cancelled my subscription. This occurred on September 21st.

    On September 23rd I received a bill for $956.52 was due to cancelation of the 3-year contract. I find this OUTRAGEOUS!! I signed a contract on the premise that ADT would be installing sensors and I would not be charged. This is all documented on their side since I was on a recorded line and I was told "Oh yes it's all here in the notes." I feel like this is a FRAUDULENT act on ADT’s behave, it seem like a great scam to get people to sign a contract while you do not uphold your end of the deal.

    We lived all over the country and we used ADT in three different houses in Arizona and in Texas. We did some checking and their prices were always competitive and in most cases, lower than their competition. So it was an easy decision for us. They were very reliable and provided a better-quality service than other places. My experience with ADT has been fantastic. Whenever I have a service problem, they're always on the line for me. We had another service provider one time, and comparing it with them, the other service provider took weeks and weeks to come out for a service call. ADT could come out within a couple of days. When we purchased service, ADT was able to get all the material and all the equipment and install it in just a couple of days. When we were with the other guy, it took him three weeks to get all the material together to install. So, overall, ADT is at the top of their field.

    We're simple, so we got the alarms on all our open windows and glass breakage protection so in case glass broke, we could hear it. We also got alarms on all our doors and keypad entry on both doors, and internal motion sensors. We didn't go for the super fancy stuff like cameras or automatic doorbells, just the true security package. I would never go anywhere else but ADT. I've experienced others who have done very poorly with me and ADT has never done that. They've always been first class and sit by their products. You turn your alarms on and have trouble at nighttime and we had a provider that after 8 o'clock at night, you couldn't talk to them. But ADT's got 24-hour service, which not all of them do, surprisingly enough.

    I called ADT as a new home owner. I just wanted to see pricing. The price was good so I ordered it I was promised a door bell camera and two outside cameras, plus a smoke detector and breakage sensor along with door sensors. When the installer showed up I was told only a doorbell camera so I called ADT and was told it would be looked into. After not hearing back in a week I called again. This time I was told it would have been in the work order. So I felt stuck. But called back again and was told they would listen to the call. Then I was told there was no promise of two outdoor cameras. I then ask for a copy of the transcript, and was told that wasn’t available to me. How convenient, I just want what was promised. This is why they get a one star review. Only as good as what you promise very dissatisfied!

    We’ve been tried canceling our service several times. Even our realtor has tried calling them. Cause I have atrial fibrillation and they were stressing me out. My alarm is still functioning after being told we have been canceled so I called. I have asked for a letter stating that our service has been canceled. But they sent me a letter saying that I was at zero balance. We close on our home in eight days. I’m not in great health and don’t want to end up in the hospital, all I’m asking for is a letter of cancellation. Is that so difficult. I’ve heard about this happening from my coworkers and friends. Please stop stressing me out. I don’t want to end up in the hospital or anything else.

    I love it when the system says the back door or the front door is open. But sometimes, my life partner loves to bake and the kitchen gets filled with smoke.     I have ADT alarm systems and I had a problem with it. They came out, fixed the problem, waived all fees, supplied the parts free of charge, and I'm happy. They're a very good company.     ADT's reps are professional and polite. They address your issue if you have any and they're informative. We have a full security system with them that does everything you need it to do. I also doubled my cameras and the motion detectors. And I have sensors on every window and door to include my upstairs, even though they recommended that I didn't need them on the upstairs. But I have young kids and eventually they'll be teenagers. So if they would be like me, then they’d be trying to get out that upstairs window.

    ADT switched over from ADT-manufactured stuff to Google, so now all the products are Google stuff. I don't think that necessarily reflects on ADT specifically, and Google makes pretty quality stuff, so it's a bit more expensive than other stuff. But you get what you pay for. The only thing I would complain about ADT is you can buy the same Google cameras or equipment at Best Buy for $20 to $30 less.

    Other than that, I've had ADT for almost 20 years now and so far, I've had no issues. When I had some financial hardships, they lowered my payment down to something I could afford. They let me come up with the price I could afford and they accepted that for six months. Then we reviewed it at the end of that six months, and they extended it for another six months until I got back on my feet. So I'm pretty loyal to them. I haven't met anybody else who can really compare to what they do and I would recommend getting ADT if you have the money for it. It's not cheap since you got to pay monthly fees and for the equipment. Some people can't afford that, so they may want to go with some of these smaller do-it-yourself type things. But they don't work as well.

    I'm pretty satisfied with our ADT system. Everything works fine and they have been consistent in terms of price and service. If you pick up the phone and call, they reply right away. We had some technical questions like how to decrease sound on the intercom or how to replace batteries. There were also a couple of times where the police been called here on a false alarm because our cat triggered the alarm. ADT's reps acted very fast on our concerns. When we started with them, they brought us the equipment and installed them. A couple of years after, the technician came again and upgraded our system. They also advised us that we had to put the detectors. Other than that, I expected that ADT should replace the batteries, but they said that was on me. So, I bought batteries and installed them.

    I've been in the house for nine years, but I did not choose ADT until about five years ago. I thought they had a better product and they were fair to their customers compared to the one that I had before. The sales guy was punctual, he knew what he was talking about, he explained the contract very well, and that was a plus for me compared to the last one I had. I talked to the installer when he got ready to install the camera for the door and the outside camera. I asked him what he was doing and where he was going to put the cameras in, and he answered the questions.

    As far as customer service, I've called and sometimes, they don't have enough people working and, usually, it takes a little while. Other than that, usually, if the alarm goes off and if I'm not in close proximity to turn off the alarm, I normally get a call and that's always good. I'm very satisfied with my service package. I just wish they could have added another camera. When something is new and offered, I like that they don't approach it as if it's something you just have to have. Information is given and you have a choice to select.

    One time, I had a little problem with the system. It was getting older. They came in and replaced it, put a new one in, and upgraded everything. However, it was a little difficult dealing when I had problems with it. I kept getting somebody offshore who didn't understand or wasn't able to do anything about the problem. There were long waits too. I called two or three times. Every time I'd call, I'd be sitting on the phone and getting somebody who was trying to do this. I went out and bought a new battery. It didn't do anything to it, kept going off again. Finally, I got a tech rep and set me up. Also, once I got somebody in the United States that understood the problem and set me up with somebody coming out and replacing, everything was fine. I like the system. It works fine.     Wanted outdoor camera and indoor motion sensor. Accept personal responsibility. But SOLD VERY EXPENSIVE with sensors on every entry after tales of local problems. Since then, nothing BUT PROBLEMS:

    -The Indoor Camera NEVER worked.
    -Window 15 needed a new Battery within four weeks, and every three weeks thereafter. Then DIY Replaced.
    -Window 40 had a Fault, corrected, then another Fault. ADT Tech said it could be a BAD BATCH, eventually DIY Replaced.
    -Window 16 showed a Fault, and Bypassed.

    -Told AT INSTALLATION that TWO APPs were needed, Google and ADT, since parts of ADT System Doorbell and Cameras not compatible with Google.

    In two years, never heard from ADT. THEN, Confirming correct decision of cancelling ADT: FOUR HOURS AFTER cancelling service, received CALL after DIY sensor removed. Received three phone calls next day. Then NOTICE that Control Panel disconnected after DIY removal – two days after system was deactivated.

    I have a large ADT system. They sold me a five year service contract. I called because of chirping smoke detector. They put me on hold several times and after close to a half hour disconnected. When I finally spoke to someone whose responsibility it was, he said it would be a week to a week and a half for a technician to come.     I had ADT for 10 years at my current address and 9 years at my previous. First had random beeping noises around midnight a few weeks ago and tried to troubleshoot with ADT over the phone several times without success, still getting FC, communication failure. Paid $59 for a technician visit last Monday 9/11 and the technician called during his job to ADT and we found out that my ADT system has not received any signals for a VERY LONG TIME!! He said there was a problem with my landline. It's not covered by my Quality Service Plan and wanted to connect a Telco wire to my office modem all the way through the attic starting at $169 for the first 30 minutes and $43 for each additional 30 minutes with no definite finish time! Apparently my system is very old and is not up to date with all the cellular devices. I decided to call ADT to see if an upgrade to wireless is feasible.

    I was quoted $1049 for the upgrade, even after some negotiation, it was still way beyond my budget, so I couldn't order it right there and I'm stuck with a broken system. After doing some research, I decided to switch to a different company. Called today to cancel and was told that I had entered into an oral contract back in June this year when I called the loyalty department for a monthly rate reduction and wanted to charge me $258.28. There were no written contract uploaded in my account documents or follow-up emails after the event to provide me any details of that verbal contract and I was totally unaware of it!! I spent 4 hours on the phone trying to get to account management team for help, but I was given the runaround the entire time!! There was no direct way of getting a hold of that department, and getting them to transfer is so difficult!! So frustrated that ADT treats its loyal customers like this!

    We had ADT for 3 years, but since we were moving, we needed to cancel the service. I called in May to cancelation in July. This was well within the 30 day notice needed. In September, I noticed I was still being billed. I called them and was transferred 3 times. Each time I was put on hold for up to 15 minutes. Each person said they were going to take care of the issue. After answering the same questions 3 times, I was getting annoyed. Then the last person says there is no record of the phone call in May even though the previous person found it. That person put no notes in the system for the last person to read. I'm so frustrated right now. Then they try to transfer me to billing and they hung up on me.

    We were stuck in a contract for ADT security services for 3 years. Luckily we're in an a quiet area and have had no need for the service. It is MY fault for not knowing we signed a contract for 3 years service with an early termination fee that pretty much amounted to 3 full years of service. We're now at the end of our 3 years and it took 3 phone calls, speaking to 7-8 different people and countless hours to get our service terminated. My wife was hung up on initially when trying to cancel. I was told to call a bogus phone number at 7:30 pm to speak to cancelations.

    When I called the number it was an automated response asking for my credit card and $2. Our third attempt to cancel the service was transferred 4 times. Finally, I was able to speak to a lady that seems to have got the job done. If I could give ADT a <0 star review I would. It probably cost them more to delay my cancellation than they received over the course of my 3 years paying them. It's not easy to speak to people like I HAD to, to get the cancellation to go through. In my opinion this was a prime display of Disgraceful business practices. I hope for the sake of people out there, they see what they're signing up for when going into business with ADT.

With the prices of everything going up, I appreciate their price being low though I wish they had something for seniors because I'm home 24/7. When we've had some power outage, I didn't know how to keep my alarm beeping. So I called customer service and they told me how to remedy it. The reps I talked to were excellent.

    I'm very satisfied with ADT. When things happen, they call and do follow-ups, and all that’s good. ADT has astounding mechanisms as you set the alarms, which is my favorite feature. As you open the doors, you feel that something's always happening when you do something that lets you know that, it's alarmed or that it's activated or that it's functioning correctly. I'm in the process of thinking about getting a security camera with them. When I wanted to get it, the rep told me that I would need to purchase it straight off of what I would see online because ADT doesn't have a salesperson within a reasonable area of me. That bothered me. I don't wanna purchase anything I can't see beforehand. But in the bigger cities, where they have officers or agents, they'll come out and explain it to you and tell you what you're getting.

    When I first called ADT on their 800 number, I paid some money and I got this credit towards equipment. The rep I talked to was eager but the rep I got after that was a little too eager and was doing a hard sell. He was trying to sell us things we didn't need and was a real go getter. I was a little put off by him. I knew he was going to try to sell us more, which he did, and our credit didn't go as far as I thought it would. It cost us another $300 beyond the credit we had. But he was very professional about the installation. Once we decided what we wanted and what we didn't, he went about and wired things up. He came over the evening before the movers came so we had an empty house with no furniture. He was there for a little more than an hour and was very efficient. Despite that, I don't want him to come again when we renew next February.

    There was a $100 installation fee but you got it back supposedly so it didn't cost you anything. The problem was that you had to go to their website and print out your contract. At that time, we were unpacking boxes and I didn't know where the printer was. There was no way to do what we needed to do within the 30 days that we had to do it, so I never got that money back and I felt like they were giving with one hand and taking away with another. Other than that, we're very happy with the package that we got. We have alarms on the windows and the doors. We also have a glass breakage sensor on windows that don't open and we've got the electric eye that would trigger the alarm. We have a CO2 detector as well and the smoke detectors. We have movement sensors, too. We have a cat, so when we leave, we don't put it on the armed away because the cat's movement might trigger the alarm.

    I like the idea that I have been contacted by the company, and whenever I've called, I've gotten immediate response. When I got hacked with a credit card, I had to give them a new one, and I got friendly and knowledgeable service. I also had an issue once with the smoke detector when I was trying to put a battery back in and it turned out that I shouldn't have done that. But the company called and resolved everything fine. With ADT, I sleep better knowing that the alarm’s on at night and that we're in a safe part of town where we live. The cost is also not that expensive as we're paying $53 a month right now. We've never had an issue with a break-in and we don't always remember to turn the alarm on when we leave, but the signs deter bad people. Somebody's going to think twice about whether they want to mess with the system or not, and even if we've forgotten to turn it on, I don't think they would take a chance.

There are many offers I have received, but I would not give up ADT for them. Normally, when a company comes in and offers you the change, the prices are very low. Over time, the price can go up but I am very happy with my prices so far.

    ADT has great customer service, which was why I selected it and I’ve had the security system on my house for a little over a year. It does what it's supposed to do.     I like the features included in the ADT system. I also like the app. But I'm disappointed in the cameras. They record for four seconds and that's it. Like someone's walking, it starts recording before someone gets to the doorbell. Then it stops recording when they push the doorbell. Or someone's in the backyard and again, it starts recording before the person appears. Then while they're in the backyard, it just stops. It doesn't record while motion is going on. That's frustrating. But I like that the cameras outside the house record sound as well as video. They got built-in microphones in the cameras. So that's a nice feature.

    The ADT system is very easy to deal with, and if anybody opens the door, the alarm goes off. The standard cost is a little high though. When I first started with ADT, it was $30-something, but now, it's up to $50-something. I have no idea what their overhead is, but it went up a little quick. I got a dog and I was gonna drop the system, but they made me a special deal to keep me on for a year in case it didn't work out well. I was very impressed and they only charged me $10 a month for it. Also, every time I need anything, I just call them and they take care of it immediately. They're very good. I called them one time, and they came out and did some upgrades on the system. They were very efficient, and they did a good job.

    Through the years, ADT's service has sometimes been good, sometimes excellent, and sometimes bad. During the hurricane, we lost a doorbell and a camera. We've had to replace them ourselves. There was nothing that we could do about it. The insurance didn't cover that. We think that ADT should supply the batteries. We pay a lot of money for it, but we just bought more cameras. So, they're doing something right. We'll stay with them.

    When we bought the cameras, they should have told us that they were going to send them out with Google. Since we don't have Google with the other cameras, they shouldn't have sent out Google. Then, we had to wait for the other cameras to come in. Whoever is selling them online or on the phone, they need to be a little bit more versed in what they're doing when talking to us. Other than that, we love having ADT.

    Have had this system for 3 years, 2 1/2 of which I did not use and actually removed the system from the house after having multiple alarms go off with no follow up phone calls. They finally called me one day, which took 6 hours to call me and my 12 yr old son was in the house, when they called I told them to yes dispatch the police BUT to tell the dispatcher that a 12 yr old boy was in the house. Well guess what they DIDN'T do!! Luckily the cops got my son out of the house safely, but were so mad that they called me and screamed at me for 10 minutes because they almost shot my son - they had no idea he was in the house and I should have notified ADT that he was in the house. Right then and there I disconnected all of their equipment. Paid the monthly bill until the contract was up which was finally 2 months ago - BUT SHOCKER guess what, you can't cancel.

    I have been calling for 2 months and every time I am on hold for over an hour each time. RIDICULOUS - can't send an email to cancel your account, can't talk to the billing dept or the customer care center. You have to call a special account cancellation number - which never gets answered. SHADY PRACTICES. They DO NOT monitor your home, they DO NOT follow direction, they DO NOT understand what customer service is. Should have known what type of company they were when the initial salesman came to my house for the demo and flat out told us after 2 hours that he was not able to leave until he made the sale, so he ended up selling us the whole set up for around $50. If you decide to go with ADT, which I don't suggest, just keep telling them no it's too expensive and you will get a whole system for less than cost. Horrible company!

    The gentleman from ADT who came to my house was a very good salesman. He explained everything to me, and he said, "We'll install all this stuff for free if you sign up with us for three years." So, I signed up. My service package is great. I don't have any problems with it. I inadvertently set the alarm off one day, and they called me right away and asked for the password. I gave it to them, and everything was good. I feel good about the service. I go to bed every night and I turn it on, and I feel safer. If you don't have ADT yet, get it. If you have somebody else, get rid of them and get ADT. They're great.

    On Aug 2023 I contacted Att Technical Support to help me with the security camera issue, they offered to send me a technician out to solve the issue for a fee of $59 I requested the fees to be waived and as a courtesy the representative what ahead and waive the charge. He did not disclose they would be any other charges for the service. The technician showed up 30 minutes late to appointment. The next day my credit card on file got charge for the amount of $314 by ADT.

    When I contacted ADT billing inquiring about the fees they informed me that this is valid charges for the service on my security camera. I requested the fees to be reversed as it was not disclosed prior to the service nor it was authorized, the billing department representative refused to reverse the charge and said it's a valid charge and will not be reversed, although he did acknowledged that the fees were not disclosed, however, he said we will not be reversing the money. I am extremely disappointed. There are many companies out there can offer you much better service and integrity. Do not choose ADT.

    This company is totally opaque in doing business in the residential alarm business. I canceled my service as of July 3, 2023. The lady did not seem to want to cancel the service, and ultimately didn't. I called back on July 17 and found it was still acting. The person said he would cancel it as of July 3. I subsequently got a bill for July and a partial bill for August, reflecting some small print in the contract that required a 30-day notice to cancel. The company also charged $65 a month for monitoring. There are so many companies available in this business now, all equally as good as ADT and much lower monthly monitoring. I can't say strongly enough that you should avoid ADT for residential alarm service.

    ADT is very good about customer support. They call me every now and then just to check and make sure that everything's working okay. They have me run through testing of the system. Whenever my alarm goes off, I get a call within seconds. I've had two cases where I had break-ins and was not home and they call the police. Thank goodness when the alarm went off, it scared off the intruder both times. I ended up with broken doors, but that's all. Also, the police beat me here before I could get home from work. I love ADT and I don't wanna ever switch.

    My wife and I purchased the most expensive system that ADT has. We've got cameras inside the house, outside the house, essentially from every entrance, every exit and the 360s. And it has worked flawlessly. The guys will give their personal phone numbers and if you have any kind of problems, something they failed to do, they'll turn around and come right back. If you put the 360 cameras on the corner of a house, at that point, it can't see through your walls, but you can look around corners with it. And you can raise it up and look at a further distance. You can zoom and set it for its default settings. I'm 65 years old and I can run around my house on my ADT system. I'm sitting on a recliner and I got all my cameras up and in five seconds, I can tell you there's no one in my yard within 100 yards of my house.

    We live on a farm and I've got a barn that I can see way out in the field. It's got expensive tractors in it. It's too far for Wi-Fi but it's well lit up. We had some scoundrels moving around our farm and I had an idea, so I called ADT. I asked to speak to a manager and when I told him my idea, he said he was gonna give me the phone number of the secretary to their VP and he wanted me to tell him what I told him. They used to have a system called ADT Pulse and they did away with that system. You had to download another software called Connect in order to see your cameras. To disarm and arm your house, you still sign in to ADT. It's just a different software with different cameras that have higher quality.

    I spoke with the secretary and I said we had ADT Pulse. They sound like air raid sirens up on our roof on the north and the south end of our home to where it would draw attention. If it comes on, it sounds like a tornado is coming through. With their connect system, those horns didn't work. I was disappointed about that because they're 110. They're hardwired. I don't do the battery thing. If it's not hardwired in, I don't want it. I don't want to have to call every six months to have batteries put in our stuff and then tell me I've got to pay a fee for them coming out here. I talked to this guy and I said I could see my barn from the house and I got about $4,000 worth of signs that I had on Pulse that ADT just killed. It's just going to waste and the wires are hanging right behind the device that they put to record 30 days’ worth of 24-hour video off of six cameras.

    I asked why they couldn't write the code and put a button on my phone that I could download or they could download to my phone that I could set those sirens off without calling the police if I saw somebody out there stealing something out of my barn and making them think that there was a motion detector at the barn. He's the secretary and he said he would talk to his boss. He said he liked it and would make a few phone calls to an engineer. There were seven guys that came, including the VP, and they built these little generators that plug in behind my system. He had his tech download it on my phone. They said they were gonna start marketing this and I was not gonna get any money for it, but I got what I asked for. As long as you know you're not getting ripped off and they don't go up exponentially, that's just the way it is. ADT couldn’t get any better. It beats the hell out of AT&T.

    A rep from ADT came out. We have a very large house and he looked at it and gave me recommendations. I looked at some aspects of it and we agreed. The installation was very uncomplicated. But something broke. I called, and they had somebody come to the house a day later. The guy would charge me an enormous amount of money to do that so I said, “No, thank you.” I called ADT and complained. They came and put a new camera with no cost. The camera is very sensitive, so if a truck comes by, it sends an alarm but there's nobody there. We get many more warnings than there are people at the front door. I don't know if I can change that or not. I've asked before, but nobody seems to help there. The system is expensive and not exactly what I wanted, but it's as good as it can be.

    Many years ago, a gentleman from ADT came to the house the way they used to do things. It was excellent. The technicians are wonderful whenever they had to come out for something. But the best experience is recent. ADT was gracious enough, since I've had them and State Farm forever, to let me take advantage of the State Farm thing so I could cut my bills in half with the new program, which I can afford much better since I'm a senior. Money's tight. It's only $20 a month.

    What I especially like about it is the fire protection. If I am away from home and a fire would break out from electrical, they would be notified way before any neighbor would see smoke coming out of the roof and call. It would be the early detection with the fire because it's hard wired into the house. And they'd be notified and have a fire truck here in no time.

    I also got an updated system per State Farm. And I added water detectors, which they did not have before. So if I had a leak under the sink in the bathroom, or kitchen, or down the cellar, where the most common leak is and where I have had water problems at two times, the detector is there. As soon as it gets moist, it lets them know.

    The second day it was in, I was notified that the water detector went off down in the laundry room. I was driving on 22 and thought, "Oh, my God. What am I gonna come home to?" Fortunately, it was a false alarm. And it was newly installed onto the washer. My washer shakes when it runs, and it disturbed it and caused it to think it was the problem and it wasn't. So, they came out again. They moved it to a better location. And no charge for any of that. I was very pleased. I've had calls where the police came out once. Those turned out to be a false alarms too. But it was good.

    I've had ADT before, and it was good when they were manning my alarm. They have had some issues about some looky-loos on the camera, but that doesn't make everybody bad, just that individual. I believe in ADT's product, and when I activate the system at night, it makes me feel better. There are some things that could be a little better for me though. Maybe educating the consumer on how to use their product would help, but I still find their services very helpful and protective. I haven't had too many problems, and when I do, they are really Johnny-on-the-spot to clear up any issues. I continue to get billed monthly for a service that is unused. I was sent new equipment and was told that I would be able to cancel once I no longer needed the service (I was in a temporary apartment) but this turns out to be another ADT sales lie. I have been paying $35 US a month, since October 2022. Now that I am out of the apartment, I do not want and do not need this service. The conversation today with an account manager stated I would have to pay another $800 US to get out of the ADT system. I suspect that I was mislead again in October when I originally voice my complaint. The account manager made it clear that I had no choice.

    This has been addressed already through the Better Business Bureau. The response I received was that my account had in fact been cancelled but this is only partially true. It has been moved to a new contract, with a new three year term. Please help me get rid of ADT once and for all. The unethical business practices of the continuance of rolling three year commitments under false pretenses is unacceptable. The equipment that was sent sits new and unused in the box. It's a constant reminder of ADT's poor business ethics and willingness to put profits over anything else.

    My wife had an alarm installed on my home. It constantly broke down, the sensors would fall of and couldn’t reset it. I explained to ADT on the phone every time I was billed. At their demand. I paid the contract off. Three years it never worked. Upon the contract completion they offered to install a new system. I would never do business with them.

    Today in 8-18-23. Our ADT system hasn't worked well since April 2023. It has been one problem after another. I had to threaten over and over again to cancel the service before they agreed to send out a tech. Then after the expensive tech visit, the system worked for a little while and then had issues again. Now they are telling me I need a new smoke detector and another tech visit to get my system working again. I've been on the phone for another hour (again). Their phone tech support is worse than Comcast. I get tossed around to a bunch of different people who are all trained not to help me. I will probably cancel the service if I cannot get it working.
