Stay away from ANY Sony TVs. There is a reason they don’t offer reasonable warranties. They lack quality tremendously. Had the Sony Bravia XBR75x900 for three years and got the red light of death and Sony basically says oh well and shrugs her shoulders. If they really think three years for a 2K Is reasonable, I hope they crumble. Terrible manufacturing, STAY AWAY!

Within six months of purchasing this 65 inch Sony TV for $1800 at Best Buy the picture stopped working. Best Buy does not support Sony TV's (who knew!) and referred me to Sony. Sony technical support took my information, gave me a case number and their assurance that their engineers are working on the problem. So here we are a year after reporting this problem and I'm told the engineers are still working on it. And, the fix is to unplug the TV and wait 30 seconds. Oh, but wait, they have extended my warranty another six months. Ah, but why extend the warranty if you're not going to actually fix it? The moral of the story is not to buy Sony TVs, especially at Best Buy.

First and worst and last experience with a Sony TV. Bought a 65 inch Bravia a80k from Best buy in August of 2022 at a cost of 1700.00 dollars. No repair shops available near Irmo.... so I'm stuck with 1700 worth of junk. Was less than 2 years old... On my way for another one... Never be a sony!!!!

I bought Sony Bravia 32” to replace an older tv after ten years of use, at a cost of $540 (including taxes), from Costco.ca. This Sony tv lasted one year and one month (13months) before it stopped working. It worked fine on a Saturday morning, but when turned on again on Saturday afternoon, it didn’t. There were vertical, coloured strips from middle centre top, to half way down the screen… There was a foggy distortion covering the bottom horizontal half… Only the top 8” showed a decent image.
I contacted our local Costco, there was nothing they could do for me (no extended warranty, past their 90 day warranty on Electronics). "Too bad, too bad”, attitude from the store. Next I phoned the Costco Concierge service…. After going over the problems and purchase details, a file was opened. Two days later, I had a call from the local repair service… Their file claimed that the tv was hit by something, and that it was the reason it broke. When I tried to tell the repair service that it was not hit, or treated roughly at any time, that it sat in a vented cabinet with doors, and that there were no children involved (we’re retired)… I was told by Patrick (repairman) that he didn’t need to know that, that I needed to tell it Sony representatives, not him.
Two days later, I received a message from the Sony insurance company, which determined (from the photos I sent) that the tv had been damaged physically, and that the claim would not be pursued (I had trouble understanding the written answer… It was garbled). I phoned the number to clarify, but it was only to hear a taped message. At this point I have decided to buy another TV, not from Costco! I will also post this on FB, to warn others of the product and the responses from Costco, and from Sony. I will also deposit this note in the Costco suggestions box. Needless to say, I am greatly disappointed with the product ( Sony Bravia), with the Costco response, the local repair serviceman, and with the Sony insurers. Having read the Sony TV reviews posted on this site, I am among many who have had similar/same problem experiences with their Bravia, and other Sony television sets.

Their A95L TV has worst quality control ever with the highest price tag, wouldn’t fix their ** dead pixels under warranty, do not try your luck buying their OLED tv unless you wanna randomly bump into a bad panel like me. In case you already bought one and have a bad panel upon purchase, it will be better off for you to return than wait for their customer support to get back to you promising response in 1 day which eventually drag your tv out of return period.
Do not attempt any FAQ guides on their website or listening to their support doing random things to your tv when filing warranty claim, not only it won’t fix anything it will give their stupid engineers a chance to accuse you damaged the tv, when being requested any pictures by their support, make sure their is no smudge on your phone camera, or any fingerprint on television, do not use dampened cloth to wipe the tv even if you see any debris.
If you ever contemplated about purchasing their tv, stay away and get a LG oled instead for your peace of mind and way better warranty and customer services, you will thank me later. Please file a fraud report on FTC when you experience similar issue with their warranty against Sony or Sony electronics, when we consumers have enough reports against them, a investigation can be conducted on them hopefully to put a stop to their unethical business practices.

My husband and I bought a SONY 75" tv. We've had less than a year. We purchased the Geek Squad service warranty. So we had a problem with dark spots around our tv. Just to be clear they look like bruises. Anyway, geek squad came. They contacted SONY for a triage. They rejected them, and SONY told them we had to contact them ourselves. So we did, when we called they hung up on us 3 times. Until we called a 4th time, gave them a description of what was going on. They told that it was more than likely that our tv had to be replaced by them. We emailed them pictures of the spots. When we heard back from them. We were told that because it seemed to have dust inside the screen, that they couldn't do anything because it wasn't covered by the warranty. I just want to say I will never purchase any TVs from them. And I would like to recommend for people not purchase them either because this is what SONY will do and they won't honor it.

I purchased a Sony XR-75X95J 16 months ago from a home theater and audio company and had it installed in my new home. Now a little over a year later there is a grey area about 12" wide running up and down the TV a little left of center. The company that installed it came out and tried all their troubleshooting repairs to no avail. He then called Sony and talked to their rep. The Sony rep said he didn't have anything else to try and that the tv was "dead" and not repairable. Then he asked if it was less than a year old, and when told no, his reply was "bummer". I asked the tech if it was normal to have to replace a $2,600 TV ($3,000 with installation) every 16 months and he said he just came from another house that had a Sony TV of the same year and about the same age that was also "dead" with no recourse other than to buy a new one. I would STAY AWAY FROM SONY TV'S!!!!

I bought the Sony Bravia XBR55x950h TV from Best Buy in July 2021 as a gift for my dad, and I must say that my experience with this television has been far from satisfactory. Approximately 15-16 months after the purchase, I'm left feeling disappointed and frustrated with the product. The most significant issue is the TV's constant and inexplicable shutdowns. It frequently turns off on its own and blinks an LED code four times before coming back to life. To temporarily fix this problem, I'm forced to disconnect all cables and unplug the power cord from the back of the TV. I then wait for a while, reconnect everything, and re-mount it on the wall, only to have the same issue reoccur shortly after.

Apparently, it has something to do with the motherboard, but regardless of the problem, the thing is a piece of junk! I have less expensive TV's that do more and have lasted longer with no problems. Bought Sony XR75X90CK 11/28/22 at Costco. Also received additional 5-year service/warranty from Allstate. TV started to have network connection issues in June, 2023 - about 5-6 months after the purchase. Called Allstate to replace TV. They stated that their "warranty" does not cover the period of OE warranty which the 1st year. Called SONY. They sent me to tech support to troubleshoot. Ran their routine - no help. At the end I was told to do a factory reset and see what happens. I was also told that if it does not solve the problem I could select to replace my TV in kind. It did not help. Called Sony again. Explained the situation and requested replacement. I was sent to some very rude Customer Support lady that was not helpful at all. Hanged up. Called again.
This time a more reasonable person explained that many people are having similar issues and that SONY WILL NOT replace my TV and wants to repair it by replacing a board. I asked to replace the TV or get a refund. Sony told me to go talk to Costco. Costco service did not do anything other than sent me back to Sony. At this point I have no choice, but contact SONY again. Sony now says they will attempt the repair, but if it does not work, then they will replace the TV. I asked to escalate this matter and replace the TV. They said no way it could be done.
I've bought a lot of electronics over the years from many different manufacturers. Sony is by far the worst company to deal with. They obviously don't care about their customers and don't stand behind their product. I recommend against buying Sony products and considering alternatives. I also have several LG and Samsung TVs and never had any major issues with any of them.

The fact this is all over the Internet as a recurring problem for over a decade now with Sony TV (all models) is mind-blowing to me. I spent 16 years working in Japan. Deliberately purchased this product because of known quality brand name. Did not bother to check on-line prior to purchase. Stupid me.
Paid $1349.00 for this POS which was marked down from $1799.00. Thought I was getting a good deal. Again, stupid me. I have to say that this is the worst online store it can be, but I didn't see any reviews online. Need to put it here so that somebody can see my experience buying a Bravia on the official website.
First, although it says "est shipping date" when you order the product, the date was the date it ships out, not the date you receive. Upon further exploration of the website, it takes 4-9 business day to ship "if there is no delay." This is probably the slowest shipment among all the contemporary shopping websites.
Second, the customer service line absolutely had no function. They'd better all be replaced by ChatGPT next year. I called 2 days after the est shipping day asking why it wasn't shipped. The agent didn't know and had to escalate. Then they called me and told me that it was shipped but didn't know the estimated arrival date as it was handled by a 3rd party delivery company.
Third, one week later, I got an email noticing that my shipment is delayed. The customer service again had no idea why the delay is and how much the delay is going to be. The agent cannot even cancel my order and told me that I can only cancel my order within 30 minutes of order placement. So it technically can take 10 years to arrive, and I can only refund it "with a stocking fee" after I receive it. The request is then escalated to an escalation team who I cannot talk to directly. The agent has no direct manager that I can escalate.
Finally, I cannot even find a customer service email on Sony's website! I think it is self-explanatory why the service is such a crap. Because they don't want to listen to the customers' feedback and don't care to improve their service quality.

Took it to a repair place and the guy determined that the Mainboard had failed. When he tried to get a replacement, he found no main boards available ANYWHERE. Why? because Sony doesn't carry new parts to repair its TVs even just 2 years after the model is produced. This was not the case in the 80s and 90s when they made great Tvs and were a company that cared.
Even used parts sellers dont have any of this board in stock because apparently this main board issue is a very common failure and has happened so times that all the used functioning main boards are gone. Sony doesn't seem interested in my problem and so far I have not heard anything back from Costco Canada. The bottom line? DO NOT BUY a SONY!! They are not made in Japan anymore and the reliability of the product has cratered! I called Sony and they directed me to an authorized repair center. They said if it is the panel, it's not repairable. I spent $2,000 on this TV and got less than 4 years use. Unbelievable. Bought an A8H that died before 90 days. Panel died. No inventory so forced to take a TV I did not want. Now they’re back in stock but it’s too late for me. Worst buying experience of my 60 years. ARC rarely works now. Have to keep toggling HDMI control but that still only helps occasionally. User interface is counterintuitive, remote is poorly designed (constantly hitting voice control just using basic buttons), and the remote buttons are far too sensitive. Brush a button and you’re no longer watching what you were. Infuriating. Smart TV? It’s a marketing box that is not average consumer friendly. Bought a Sony Bravia TV Model KDL43WF663 from John Lewis in July21. The TV never worked properly. When we finally decided to report it to John Lewis we're told it was under Sony’s 1 year warranty. For 4 months we are being played between Sony and JL. JL sent 2 engineers to fix the TV to no avail. They just can’t figure out what is wrong with it. Sony has cancelled their engineer twice and now is refusing to assist claiming they can only repair if the problem is with the TV panel. No one can tells us what is the problem.
We have a TV that has been faulty from the minute we bought it. It came with 5 years warranty but none of the two companies involved is willing to do anything about it. JL has now discontinued this model… Wonder why. Every time we call Sony they come up with a different excuse. We have all phone calls recorded and we will be uploading it on Instagram and Twitter. To our surprise the spider got in between the TV screen. Never in my life has this ever happened to me before. We were surprised. We contacted the 1-800 number on the warranty documents and were told that this is not part of the warranty and they cannot do anything for us. We were then told by Sony Canada to contact the store where we purchased the TV. Now why would they offer us a warranty and send us off to the store. We have also researched on our end and no matter where we got our information, this is supposed to be covered by the warranty. "Is this a must have feature for you to keep the TV?" - I said no but what can be done for it being defective? I was told a note with the service record would be created and that in the future if I needed a new TV, Sony would give me a discount on a future purchase. Sounded good to me.
Recently I went to purchase a New TV, upon calling Sony, they told me they couldn't find any service records and blamed Best Buy in the process. The Sony Bravia “smart” TV is not very smart. It shows you an on-screen message about a needed update then jumps into the update giving you a blank screen - that’s right… zero instructions. You have to go online to find out that if you press buttons on the remote trying to revive the screen, you could damage TV. A real “smart” TV would alert the user on-screen appropriately about what is going on and would provide guidance before updating and going blank.

On 2/17/21 I purchased a Sony XBR65X900H TV from Best Buy. The TV was set up by the techs from Best Buy. They did a great job. After a few weeks, the TV lost audio. I pressed the help button on the remote and was able to get the audio back. Decided to call Sony to see why this happened to an almost $1400 TV. Was told they were aware of the issue, and a software fix was being worked. Note: This was all done through the online chat. The 1st level tech told me we can do some things to the TV. Thinking she knew what she was doing, I went along with it. She kept sending me links. I was annoyed but willing to continue. She told me to shut the tv off via the button on the tv. Where is the button? She told me it was on the rear of the tv. My tv sits on a piece of furniture, it is 75", and I have neck issues. I told her it's impossible for me to move the tv or even get to the back of it.
After about 15 minutes of me moving furniture, climbing up on the furniture to try to get between the wall and the tv, she tells me the button is on the front of the tv! I was livid. Long story short, the customer service reps have no clue what they are doing. I requested her supervisor (2nd level tech?) who seemed more knowledgeable. He said he could set my tv so when the software was available, it would automatically download. We were disconnected. I called back and spoke to a 3rd level tech. By this time I was irate and demanded some compensation for them wasting 3 1/2 hours of my time. They don't care and do nothing for their customers! OMG. Had I known. I have never written a review before but IF YOU ARE THINKING OF BUYING A SONY PLEASE READ THIS AND SHARE. I am just out of words with the experience I have had with Sony for the last 2 months. For starters the x800 has many issues, the remote power button won't close the TV (we tried 2 different remotes), the issue is the TV. Randomly the wifi will cut out during a movie and then we can't reconnect sometimes for hours. Yet my other TV down in the basement farther away never has any issues. Wait there's more!
Randomly the sound from certain apps won't work for days and the only way to fix it is with a full system reset. There are more issues like the backlight is horrible and there is random clouding. The newest issue is you will be kicked out of Netflix or Disneyplus and when you try and log back in you need to re-enter all your login details. Have you ever tried typing on a Sony TV??? Not fun for a $1000 TV! But those are the main ones. You would think I had the TV for years... Nope... I had the TV for 2 months!
So what about customer service... I do have a 1 year warranty right? NOPE! When you call C.S you get people that can't speak English that don't understand you. There is 3 levels of tech support and they are paid to keep you troubleshooting with no results. I was on the phone with them on 9 different occasions from Jan 18th to March 4th for a total of 5 plus hours! I was asked to upload videos and I did, many of them. Feel free to private message and I will share with you all my videos. I kept explaining to them, do they think I have nothing better to do with my time than to call them for hours complaining about fake issues?? I mean take the client and his live videos at face value and fix the TV or replace it, no?
After calling and troubleshooting I had it when finally I am speaking with level 3 tech Mike as well as Paul and they tell me I am right, the TV has issues but they need to get the okay from their engineers in order to okay an exchange (Yes an exchange. I am not even asking for a refund). So then no response so I call; only to be told wait for it... The engineers claim this is normal!!! And my TV is fixed, WHAT?? You mean these issues are normal?!
It is impossible to speak with anyone, they make excuses. I even told the last guy I am recording the call and he said he doesn't care and does not approve of me recording the call. I wish I can put it in better words but I am so upset with this company. When did shipping customer service to the Phillippines and dragging your client along to avoid fixing the TV become okay? I am not done as I will be posting my experience on Facebook and exploring my customer protection laws here in Quebec. Feel free to email me at ** and I will share with you my videos.

In 2017 I purchased a XBR65A1E TV for $5,600.00, one morning it stopped working and started to flush 5 times. I Called Sony and they send me to authorized repair shop. Technician determined that I need new panel and there is no warranty. I asked them to fix it and I will pay whatever the cost is. Then they told me that Sony is not distributing these parts in Canada, US only, and that I am not the only Sony customer with this problem. We tried to source it in the US, the answer was: Sony is not producing it anymore and if I had extended warranty, which was never offered to me at the time of purchase, they would just swap the TV for me. It’s been now 4 (four) month and still no help from anyone. Sony is bouncing me from one place to another without giving me a solution. Never ever buying Sony product again! Outrageous!

Never, ever will we purchase Sony again! Disgraceful & we are so regretful. We purchased our 75inch Bravia in 2016 for our new house about a year prior to moving in. We started using it 2017 when we moved in for about 2.5 years 'roughly'.... In the first year 2017, TV went blank, flashed red light 3 times - Sony repaired & that was working for another 2 years, then... blank again.. Flashing for 5 or 6 times to memory.. They quoted us through their repair centre in Melbourne/Moorabin around $4,000 to repair it!?? Sony would not fix it - out of warranty - that's fine but we were not paying more to repair than what it's actually worth to buy.
So, Sony told us we could buy another TV - so we did! 5 months later from the start of this entire dispute,... Sony email me to ask how we are going, if we ended up buying a new TV?? Weird right? I told them, they were the ones who told us to buy another "from Sony" so we did - we paid for another one! Then... Sony emailed back said they need to take our damaged TV?? Ha? We have paid for that TV in 2016 when we bought it, it's ours right?? And it's been months since we resolved issue as they asked us to pay for a new TV!
We bought that original 75 inch TV from the Good Guys Narre Warren Victoria Australia in 2016!!!! Seriously I am fuming. Sony is nowhere near what we expected. Absolute dogs. Disgrace!!!! In fact, we have paid for both our TVs, really they should have given us a new one for free - I would have understood reason to ask to collect damaged one. But no way should they make you buy a new one and months later pop up and ask to take our own TV that's damaged that they wouldn't fix!!!! Wow.

I bought 65' TV Sony XBR series TV, in October 2019. The TV developed quite noticeable dark areas (& not dark spots) around the edges of the screen. I have known Sony to be a reliant brand, known for excellent picture quality all my mature life, so this was very unexpected. The TV also resets the Wifi connection. Knowing the reputation of the brand, I contacted the customer care to help me. A software update was pending on the TV which was updated to the current version, however, the dark portions of the screen remain unresolved.
The customer care requested I share photos & post review they came back stating that the 'TV performed in conformance to market specifications' & the LED/LCD panel functioned appropriately. When I inquired about 'market specifications', I was contacted to research the website of Sony. The tech support staff argues that there is no malfunction in TV owing from their remote review. While the TV may not technically have any malfunction, however, the visual experience is awful.
There is no place, no document, no product description which states that darkening of screen while normal viewing is appropriate, I do understand the the LED panel may leave temporary spots here & there from a typical viewing pattern, however, challenge with the TV I have is distinguishable. There are many cheaper TVs available in the market & one buys a Sony for excellent visual experience, especially since the brand is built around excellence in quality. I am very unhappy with the product & more so unhappy with the Tech support/ customer relations. One does spend 3-4 times over the cheaper brands to experience this poor quality. I wouldn't say that I won't recommend Sony as this might be an isolated instance, but the treatment of a customer who pays such a high premium for the brand is abysmal.

I purchased a brand new Sony Bravia TV Model #XBR49X900F, not my first (but will be my last). After setting up and turning on the TV we saw an embedded image on the very bottom of the screen. It looked like a fan. I immediately registered the TV, including a copy of the receipt as they request. I then tried contacting Sony using the number on the front of the manual. Right under that number the manual says "Please Do Not Return the Product to the Store". Here's my first piece of advice, IGNORE both statements.
I tried calling for hours and only to get a busy tone (in today's world a business with a busy tone?). I tried opening a chat but was unable, then tried the Sony Community Bulletin Board to get their attention (their first reply took 4 days). Sony sent me an e-mail saying they were sorry to hear about the issue and asked for more detail. I gave that detail twice, including pictures. It took another 4-5 days before I got their next response.
They gave me a number to call and after going through 3 different people their reply came down to this; Sony would not honor its Limited Liability Warranty because they said all their TVs go through a quality check and if the customer cannot prove any damage or defect was not their fault Sony takes no responsibility. It is not Sony's issue once it leaves their shipping facility. This was not the type of customer service I expected from Sony but since my other but I had no previous experience with their customer service. My opinion is that there are too many VERY GOOD alternatives than to buy from a company with this attitude toward their customers.

We purchased a 65 in Sony TV in Feb, 2017. We also purchased a 2 year extended warranty with the TV. The first one we bought, we got home and hooked it up and turned it on. Within minutes there was a green horizontal line across the bottom of the screen. Within a few minutes it went from maybe a quarter inch to about 4 inches wide. We called Sony and they walked us through a few steps to try to resolve the issue. After no resolution we contacted Best Buy and scheduled for a new one to be delivered.
We have had the second one for less than 3 years. A couple of days ago we began to see a horizontal lines across this one too. Since we purchased the 2 year extended warranty and the manufacturer had a 1 year warranty, we felt confident that we were covered. Nope. We were totally misled on how the warranty works. The warranty we purchased ran concurrently with the manufacturer warranty, meaning we really only had a 2 year warranty. We reached out to Sony thinking they would stand behind their product and not want to lose a loyal customer. We have had several Sony TV's over the years. They couldn't have cared less. In the event that a software update didn't go through successfully, the firmware should be capable of re-initiating it, however as it happened in my tv, the firmware has taken control of the tv and is repeatedly rebooting the tv. Best Buy would not do anything about it and recommended that I contact Sony. Sony replaced the TV one month later with an XBR-75X940E. Neither Best Buy nor Sony would allow me to get an extended warranty at that time. Two years later the TV is dead, probably a power board failure which is a problem that Sony TVs seem to have. Sony will not do anything since the warranty has expired. They have no local technicians that I can call.
Best Buy refuses to repair the TV. I am unable to find a TV repairman. I am now left with a $3200 piece of junk. If you attempt to scroll through channels, the TV will jump to the highest HD channel and if you attempt to scroll down, it jumps to analogue channels.
Sony claims the next software upgrade due in month or two will fix the problem. In the meantime, since Dec, we’ve had nothing but problems. If you call service be prepared to spend an hour or two, as no one has an answer only delays. Recently, we’ve had trouble with apps on the Sony such as Netflix, which requires you to go to settings, empty, cache, memory, resign in, etc. No problem like this occurs with my iPad or Microsoft computer, only Sony.
