My Sharp tv was made in 2005 by Sharp Electronics... I bought it off the floor in 2006 and it is still one of the best pictures in the business. It is not a smart tv like the new ones, but with my tv carrier, it has all the necessary ingredients to be a smart tv...and it still works.

We purchased a Sharp LC50lb370U television in July of 2015 from Best Buy. The sticker on the back of the tv states that it was made in April of 2015. My son came home from college and the tv has sound with no picture. I cannot believe that a Sharp tv was only made to last less than 4 years. I actually have a cheaper brand HD tv (Craig) that has now lasted over 11 years. Is there anything that I can do about this. Less than 4 years for a tv made by a reputable company is not a good thing. That is money down the drain.

I purchased a Sharp 65" 4K TV from Sam's Club in November of 2018. A few months later (March 2019) the TV started to show 2 lines through the middle of the screen. It took 6 weeks to get a replacement (bad panel). Six weeks of emails, multiple phone calls etc. My Replacement TV arrived May 25th 2019, the box came damaged, with no TV stand. The delivery people used the old stand to put on the new TV, concern #1. The next day I decide to remove the tape from the TV and there was a dead pixel on the screen. Concern #2.

Upon emailing the company, another case was opened and I was told 1 dead pixel is no big deal, there's nothing they can do. One dead pixel might not mean much to them but imagine looking at the screen and it looks like there's a bug on screen constantly, when you see that, that's all you focus on. When you spend a lot of money on something you have choices, and when you choose to do business with a company you expect a quality product. My experience has been bad and I will never do business with this company nor recommend any else to.

Do not purchase a SHARP TV thinking it is the same SHARP quality TV from the past! I see all the 5 STAR posts of people talking about their old SHARP TV's lasting for over 30 years. It is a new age and time done. Gone of good quality SHARP TV products. Hisense owns the SHARP name! In July 2015, Hisense bought a Mexico facility from Sharp for $23.7 million alongside rights to use the Sharp brand on televisions sold in North and South America.

This is my horrible "Sharp TV" experience. I bought a Sharp TV Dec 20th, 2017 from Sam's Club that functioned properly until July 8th 2018. Just shy of 7 months old a solid flickering line appeared across the lower 1/4 portion of the screen. I filed my warranty claim on 8/1/2018 and received my replacement TV on January 4th, 2019, A 5 month 3 Day Warranty Swap process and also a loss of 5 months usage of my TV and a 5 month loss on my 1 year warranty coverage on a TV that I purchased for $828.00 1 year ago as of Dec 2018.

So on Jan 4th 2018, I received the delivery to my front doorway the replacement TV, used or re manufactured with a manufactured date of Sept 25, 2017 just like the warranty info states. Again I hung the big TV on the wall once again and got to enjoy it until May 2nd 2019 when I turned it on to only get a grey screen and sound only. No picture and a very scripted, "Sorry your warranty expired Dec 20th, 2018. And even if I could help you Sir, the replacement tv is only covered for 90 days. So, sorry and good luck Sir!" Bottom line is "Good Luck" if you purchase a SHARP post 2015 TV. Sharp now is only a junk Hisense TV with a formerly good products name.

SHARP is NOW Hisense Junk. In theory I was almost able to enjoy my purchase for just a few days less of 12 months of my 17 months of ownership. At $828 the TV cost me $2.27 a day to own and use for almost a full years time. I won't buy that again. So who still makes a TV that will last me maybe 5 years? Please let me know.

I bought this TV at Sam's Club, about 18 mos. ago. After a while, the remote stopped working, so I bought another one on Ebay. Then that one stopped working, so I bought another one. They all have done the same thing: They start using batteries like crazy (replaced every 3 days) and then they finally quit. If you look at the lens end of a remote control with a phone camera, you can see if it's transmitting or not and these remotes all transmit 100% of the time. To top it off, this TV is made by Hisense, so instead of owning up to their deceptive marketing practices (I would have never bought a Hisense TV), they sent me to Hisense customer service. So far, I haven't found a single universal remote that will do more than turn it on/off, so I guess that I'm just screwed.

Until I actually insisted that they listen did they say we needed a new panel but would have to pay to have it looked at and replaced. Worst TV. Will never buy this brand again. Should not have to fix a TV in this short period of time. We have had TVs for 7-10 Years. Glad my husband know she how to repair TVs. But we should not have to. Will never recommend a Sharp TV. My Sharp 60" LC-60EQ10U started malfunctioning during the holidays with scrambly horizontal lines that made the TV unwatchable. Being that the TV is just over 3 years old I contacted Sharp and described the problem in detail to see if they thought it was fixable. I was told I needed to take several pictures of the screen so that they could see what was happening. I sent them several pictures as well as a video and weeks later they keep passing my "file" around different departments saying your case is being reviewed. I was not looking for any handout, just a professional assessment of what my options were. Perhaps getting it repaired by a local vendor. I have still received no good feedback and I can see their strategy is clearly to stall in hopes the customer gives up. It worked. I give up and will never own another Sharp product again. The message could not be removed from the screen until I clicked on “Update”. Once the update completed, the TV no longer worked. The red power button would come on and off, but nothing ever came up on the screen. I contacted Sharp (Hisense now) and they had me mail the television to them to be repaired. Three (3) months after being purchased new!!!! I received the television back and it appeared to be working ok.

Fast forward to a week ago (thirteen months after purchase), I get the same “update” message on the screen that will not go away until you click on “Update”. I clicked on update and guess what… Now the red light comes on and off, but again, nothing on the screen. I have since called Hisense three (3) different times and been told by someone who speaks English as a second language (difficult to understand) that after they have asked their two (2), yes I said TWO, tech support questions, they tell me that the TV needs repair but is now out of warranty! I am SOOO glad that I spent my hard earned money on a TV that lasted a whopping 13 months and needs to be repaired for a SECOND time. Bad play, Sharp, bad play! You have lost a customer for life now! Whether or not the Hisense ones are crap is another story. But I feel I must stick up for the real Sharp. Their customer service was great and my Aquos is STILL working. Sharp Aquos, 65 inch is the worst junk of TV out there as far as I'm concerned! Bought it new, and within a few weeks had issues with the TV muting itself. After being off overnight, the next day when we turn on the TV and there's no sound. We called customer service right away and were told to unplug it for 60 seconds and plug it back in and give it a try. But offered no permanent fix, nor did they offer to send anyone out to look at our TV. And although the TV was only a few weeks old, they did not offer to swap it out. I felt really bad because not only had we just spend good money buying this TV, we were now left all alone without any help from Sharp. And to make it worse, I know first-hand how good customer service Samsung offers and I was now having buyer's remorse!

So after a year of unplugging that TV every other week, we were almost used to it and then one morning it wouldn't even turn on. We woke up one morning and it wouldn't power up/turn on. So after wasting more time calling Sharp customer service again, and not getting any help or advice. We checked with a local TV repair place and after spending $100 to have it check out, we were told it has a bad board and is not worth repairing. So we dumped it with the City e-waste and bought another Samsung! I love Samsung and we still have our old DLP Samsung from 15-20 years ago as the kids use if to their video game stuff in our loft.

We have only had to replace the bulb twice within those 15-20 years. The first time the bulb went out, we called Samsung and at that time our TV was 7-10 years old and Samsung sent someone out to our house and they changed the bulb and everything for FREE! So I must say, I will NEVER buy another Sharp TV, and we will always stick with Samsung! Sharp showed us NO love. :-(

Just watching then all of a sudden there were a big black spot that was in the middle of the TV & all that you could see was the sides of what was playing then we cut it off, then turned it back on it had stripes or lines in the TV and it had like a disfigured crack where it looked like something was going on internal. By this time contacted Sharp & they asked for pictures in which I sent & they proceeded to tell me that it had physical damage. What are you talking about? Physical how? We're watching TV & this happens. So, Sharp is not honoring the manufacturer warranty & I am out of a lot of money for buying this worthless piece of TV. To anyone who values your dollar do not buy a Sharp, Hisense or Aquos TV because it is not worth it. DO NOT BUY Sharp. I bought a high-end 70" Sharp Aquos for $$$. It had moderate use for 4 years, and then failed, power down, just as the 4 year Best Buy warranty ran out. Had to get it looked at by a TV repair company who told me the replacement grid for the LEDs would be at least $1,000. Not good enough. Reviews online say this is known issue, (in addition to the power board, a less expensive fix). I hear Hisense now own Sharp in the US. Unscrupulous practices trading of the previously good Sharp branding. Avoid at all costs.

Called The Brick and they give me Sharp's phone number then I call that number to find out that it is just Sharp branded and I would have to call the manufacturer so they give me that number which was not in service so I called back again. Finally got the right number 2 hours later and now I have to wait 24 to 48 hours for someone to contact me to set up a service call. I should not be dealing with this when the TV is just 2 months old. And how can Sharp not service this when it is carrying their name. I think they should have to stand behind its manufacturer or not it has their name.

In August last year I bought a very nice looking white Sharp Aquos LC-40LE275X TV and in May this year it already stopped working. I would watch TV and after about 45 minutes the TV would turn off and the LED light would flicker, after this I couldn't turn the TV back on. I brought it to Home Hub where I bought it and got it back after 1.5 week, they said it was repaired. I took it back home and after 45 minutes it had the exact same problem. I went back to Home Hub and told them what I thought about this as they clearly didn't check to see if the problem was solved or not before returning the TV to me.

After several complaints, I got a new TV of the same model as the previous TV was unfixable, they replaced the power unit, motherboard etc. but nothing helped. This was last week. Enjoying my new TV for a week now, and I have a problem again, the sound just goes off, then the TV turns off and back on. Replaced the HDMI cable to see if that was the problem but the problem remains. Sharp support desk in Thailand does nothing but asking to be patient. Be warned and do not buy Sharp.

We have troubleshooted multiple times now with no resolution of the problem. Sharp customer service has been less than helpful. The company lacks integrity when taking any responsibility for the poor long term quality of their product. It is past the three year extended warranty. He did not get the extended warranty. Only the factory 12 month warranty. Because of that I took it to an electronic shop for repair. The owner said it was the back panel and the TV was irreparable. He also said he had seen a few of these same models with the same problem. That should not happen. I also saw many reviews of the same TV and problem online.

I spoke to multiple people at Best Buy including the managers at the Best Buy it was purchased at and they all referred me to call Sharp. I talked to multiple people at the Sharp line including managers who all said it was not their problem just as Best Buy did. I found it interesting that Best Buy stopped carrying this model in early 2016. I see so many reviews out there about these sharp TVs yet there is no recall or responsibility taken by either company. I also sent letters to each of the corporate offices. No response from either one which was no surprise. I was very disappointed with Best Buy as well as the Sharp company. Had an issue with it after 4 years or so and they fixed it with no questions asked as it was a problem a lot of people were having.

If I pay $1500 for a brand new tv it A) should last longer than 14 months and B) have some sort of customer service that actually cares about their customers and not just tell them there is nothing they can do. THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING A COMPANY CAN DO! They are choosing not to help their customers. For this reason I WILL NEVER purchase anything from Sharp Electronics and their subsidiaries. Two weeks ago, my 60" Sharp Aquos tv started power cycling (turning on and off ad infinitum until unplugged) randomly after being used in the morning. I contacted Sharp customer service the next day as I had missed the cut off for their hours and talked to two service reps via online chat so I could have a written record to refer back to when trying to fix the tv. The first rep told me that it was an update issue and that all I needed to do was download the update and install it to the tv.

That failed. The tv wouldn't stay on long enough to recognize the USB drive, so I tried customer service again. "Wendy" informed me that I was using a too-large USB drive and that they recommended a 1-4gb drive. I found a smaller USB drive and tried the update again; again, the tv power cycled too rapidly to read the drive. Wendy and I went through this four different times until I realized I was not going to get another suggestion and that this individual was merely working through a manual.

I gave up and handed it off to a family member to solve. He called the customer service line and was given the same information - download the update and the tv will update. So, we tried again and failed again. This time, we demanded a tech come look at the tv or at least refer us to an authorized repair shop in town. Sharp referred us to a repair shop that has a one star review. We scheduled the repair anyway. On the day of the repair, the technician called to inform us that he had another, more important job and if that was okay with us that he cancelled to go to his other job but he would research the problem and call us.

We waited over a week with no call. I'm only mentioning the repair company because this is an authorized repair shop promoted by Sharp. We took the tv down to a local repair shop and received word today that the problem was not an upgrade issue. The motherboard is out, which is absurd on an 18 month old tv. I'd like to think this is a fluke of an experience, but I'll not be repeating it with another Sharp product.

I explained that if you buy a product via a credit card and you pay monthly on the product you own it, right? They didn't see it that way. They are escalating to another level. The issue is this. There is nothing in writing legally that states you must have finished making payments on a product before they can fix it. I think they are avoiding paying for this product as there are several complaints of this TV not working and a blue screen. At the moment, I have a product at my 82 year old mother's house that is not working. Sharp Aquos LC-55UB30U: I'm giving Sharp a very generous 1-star review for the piece of trash 55 inch LED Smart TV that I bought at Best Buy in Manchester just a year and a half ago. About two months ago, my TV screen began intermittently showing black and white lights followed by black and colored, horizontal lines moving up and down the screen which gradually became worse until the television was no longer viewable. I called Sharp and explained the problem with the TV and the fact that I had it professionally installed and trouble-shot by my installer who recommended I call Sharp to see what they would do for me.

Sharp's answer was for me to call a local tv repair company that they would recommend at MY expense. Are you kidding me? I ask them if it is unreasonable for me to expect my 55 inch LED Smart TV to only last 1 year and a half? Is that what I can expect of Sharp products? Of course they put me on hold to think about it and ultimately they offered to escalate my issue. I thanked him very much and waited for a call, because, silly me, I actually thought I got through to them. Two weeks later I called back and was told that the matter was still being reviewed and that is handled by a different area. I asked if I could talk to someone from that area.

He put me on hold again and then came back to offer me the number of a TV repair company in my area that could come and look at the machine - again - at MY expense. Seriously? After many apologies and several phone calls, much time on hold with their annoying piano music, which I swear is designed to get people to give up waiting and hang up, ultimately, this was all they offered me. I said, "Thank you very much; I will not do that for what is obviously a poor quality product (backed-up by other poor reviews on Yelp). I will just post my review and thoughts online if that is the best you can do for me. Is that all you can do for me?" He said, "Yes!" Unbelievable. No thank you Sharp!

When preparing to post a review on Yelp, I learned that I'm not the only person who has experienced this very same issue with a Sharp LED TV. The symptoms were identical. How disappointing that Sharp will not be honest about that and stand by their product. To add insult to injury, I see that Sharp has a BBB rating of F! I guess that says it all. I learned a very good lesson at least - next time I will read more product reviews BEFORE buying a product based on a well-known name.

We bought a 50" Sharp TV from Best Buy on a Black Friday. Deal still out the door. After taxes we paid $630 and 2 years later exactly from the date of purchase our TV stops showing the image. The sound is fine. No alert. No indication. Just boom instantly stops working. We took it to Best Buy. They told us our warranty was old now and that their "Geek Squad" would need to diagnose it and send out. It could cost $35-300 dollars. We said no. Then we called the manufacturer and they pretty much told us we were sold. I will never again purchase another Sharp item or anything from Best Buy again. These TVs are crap. Very unhappy customer.

My husband and I purchased this t.v. from Best Buy not even 2 years ago. (I'm holding the receipt in my hand) and yesterday I turned it on and got sound but no picture, the screen would not even show volume, or input source. After finding the receipt, I called Best Buy Geek Squad and they informed me it was the LED light in the back of the t.v. which would cost more to replace than the t.v. itself. I decided to call the Manufacturer, SHARP.

After being transferred and on hold several times, I was told they only have a one yr warranty and cannot cover the LED light. So... I now have to purchase a new 50 inch led t.v. that I do not have the money for. When I spend over 300 dollars on a tv on Black Friday, that is actually already discounted from a higher price, I would expect it to last longer than 2 years! Moral of the story, don't buy Sharp TVs and always purchase the store warranty because they don't back up their products, because they clearly know they don't make them to last.

We sent it in under warranty for repair and a week later receive a call they voided the warranty due to the tv having damages yet had not even a scratch on it when we sent it and a nasty bug was in the t.v. that could have happened during shipping but they cannot be sure my t.v. was in perfect condition other than the picture flipped upside down. I feel like they are trying to just not stand by their product and I’ll never buy Sharp again. I have since contacted a attorney and plan on requesting a class action lawsuit. If you got the same issue not standing by their contract maybe you can too start a action because it’s not right you pay 600 plus for a t.v. and it just malfunctions and you stuck! I’m afraid when I get it back they will have broken it. After all the caller ask me multiple times if they could just recycle it. No of course not. Send it back to me. I’m interested to see what they did to it.

Until sitting in the living room one day with the TV off and it comes on by itself. We called Best Buy, the Geek Squad said to reprogram the cable remotes, so we did. It stopped.

Now after 18 months, the TV goes black but has sound. I call Sharp this time and they transfer me to Best Buy. Best Buy has me troubleshoot the TV, most of which I had already tried. They tell me to press and hold the reset button. Now I have no picture or sound and a $500 piece of crap. I kept asking myself how Sharp isn't recalling this TV AND stop selling the series run of multiple bad inverter reports causing screens to go out. Until I researched, talked to TV repair places & to the place I bought Sharp Aquos from. Then it all became clear what was happening. Purchased a 50" Sharp Aquos 4K end of 2016. 7 months later, screen started blinking every time we turned power on... Then started blinking wildly while watching & finally nothing but black screen. Called place where we purchased & they immediately knew what issue was. Said MANY have had their 50" & above Sharp Aquos go out, it's a bad inverter & get this-Sharp is no longer supporting TV business. So it's a rampant, specific problem & they are doing nothing outside the one year warranty.

SO, we were in warranty, had no choice but to replace it with what? The exact model/series with known faulty inverters. AND the warranty does NOT start over! Of course not. Then they would replace TVs every year. They just replace faulty tv's with their inventory of same TV's. How Do I Know? Here we are, 9 months after our replacement, now out of warranty, AND IT'S STARTING AGAIN, Screen blinking, dark spot upper left screen & soon I'm sure a black screen... Again. The only bright spot to hundreds of dollars out the window is that we never have to own a Sharp product again. I keep checking for applicable class actions, so far, nothing. In addition to Sharp TV screen problems, search for "Sharp TV bad inverter" & you will be stunned at all the people with same story.

Update: Sharp's Customer Relations department responded with an offer to swap my defective unit with a similar refurbished model (different model # with same specs and more recent manufactured date) at a $500 cost to me. The refurbished unit will only have a 90 day warranty with an optional extended 3 year warranty for $399..I received the TV today and it powered up. I have not put it thru an extensive operational test but plan to do so this weekend. As far as my view on the outcome. In total I've invested $3,100 (w/ a potential investment of $3,500 if I purchase the extended warranty) for a TV I originally paid $2,600 for. At the time I thought that was a little expensive for me but did it because it was dubbed as "high quality, Sharp's top of the line." So as far as remedy, I have a working TV but I've paid an excessive amount for it and have no idea if it will also fail after 3 years. I felt Sharp should have replaced my TV free of charge. One final note, Sharp Corporate Office indicated they are no longer in the TV business as of 2016. It seems they are now in the recycling of defective TV business. I will never buy anything w/ the Sharp label again.

    Original Review: Aug. 5, 2017

I purchased a Sharp Aquos Quattron 70" 3D from Hhgregg in 2014 and it failed after 3 year. I paid $2,600 for the TV because it was described as high quality and Sharp's "top of the line" model. I had the set mounted in my newly constructed theater room where the TV was used for special events and probably not used more than 75 times in the 3 year period. Last week the picture screen went totally black with power indicator flashing 2 slow followed by 5 fast blinks. Contacted Sharp who sent me thru a series of reset maneuvers, which all failed to turn the TV on. Eventually, Sharp (after informing me my set was out of warranty) referred me to an authorized service shop in my areas, who diagnosed the TV with a failed panel. The service tech informed me that the cost to replace the panel (if available) would most likely exceed the price of the TV and that I should contact Sharp requesting some sort of compensation or relief.

Well, I did and was initially told there was nothing they could do for me. After escalating this to a manager, I was instructed to send in my proof of purchase and the service techs receipt and diagnosis report and they would get back to me, emphasizing they were making no promises. I am waiting to hear what they are going to do. I don't have $2600 to throw away and as I explained to the Sharp CS manager, if this was their "high-end, top of the line model" then they should stand behind it.

Will update when they respond. I have noticed a number of similar complaints with Sharp sets over 50''. I also read that that Best Buy will not sell Sharp large screen models because of the apparent issues they have. If this is the case, I hope to "somehow" get others to join me challenge Sharp and seek some kind of remedy and/or compensation. As another person put it on this site, "We all should band together and sue their butts. They need to be held accountable for making pieces of not working T.V." I agree. Let get together.

I recently bought a 50 in Sharp TV 37 days ago June 14. It is now July 21 when TV went black. I have always looked at sharp as top of the line in products. Anyway TV was working just fine. Left for 4 maybe 5 hours. Came back home turned TV on. You could barely see pictures behind the back drop. Tried to reset. The sharp label showed up for about 10 seconds crystal clear. But when TV picture shows it's barely visible in the back drop. No biggie. I located my receipt. To my surprise TV only had a 30 day warranty which that not sharps warranty I hope, all TVs at this business only have a 30 day warranty. Now that's what I call standing by the products you sell. Now to be fair to sharp I have not contacted them as of yet, but I'm hoping that they do right by their product that was bought brand new and I know things happen sometimes but you make good when your product does not stand up to the test of time.

Not even a little bit 37 days really? And not even 30 hours of watch time. Not only that. The TV came with the wrong remote control, it's a sharp remote but not the remote that goes with the TV. I would name the business but not until I talk with them to see if this problem can be resolved. I'm not here to bash businesses but really the wrong remote? Sharp should be a little more sharper (get it) on who receives and sells their products. And on top of all that the remote had no back ha ha!!! Talk about shade tree, had to tape up a brand new remote to hold the batteries. I never cried about it or complained. I accepted it as long as the TV still worked and wow!!! A little over a month that went out. Now all that being said I'm going to expect sharp or this company to fix my TV or give me my money back.

As I read person after person complain about how they got done by sharp it just makes me cringe. I'm sure they'll show 5 to one people they did make happy. But that still doesn't negate the fact that that one person was not. A good business model makes everyone happy within reason. Don't forget it was the public that made you sharp, and rather I receive a fair deal or not all the people that didn't should get together and put a law suit on them if nothing else to show them who put them where they are. To be continued.

The repairman came out and told me that the screen is no longer good and that I would need to replace it. He also informed me that it would cost as much as a new TV. The last thing he said was that Sharp was having trouble with their TV screens above the 65 inch models and that if I were to call them that since they were aware of this defect that they would probably replace the TV. This was not accurate as they don't want to be of any help in either helping get this TV fixed or replaced. Needless to say their TV's are absolute GARBAGE! Not to mention how their customer is GARBAGE as well!!! I can also tell you that Best Buy no longer carries their larger TV's above 55 inches. This tells you how they feel about Sharp as well! If we ever need another TV this would definitely be the brand we choose. They last a long time, don't quit just as the warranty expires which is the norm with a lot of things. I purchased an AQUOS Sharp Smart TV in 2013. From the get go I was having problems connecting to WiFi. I bought a booster for my Wifi because the phone people from Sharp said that was the problem. After 6 or 7 calls between my cable carrier and Sharp, they finally sent a repair person out. Lo and behold this was the motherboard. Thankfully the T.V. was still under warranty and Sharp installed a new motherboard. About 6 months later green lines would come on certain channels, and then the T.V. would take forever to warm up and turn off. Finally, the screen was black. Don't waste your money. P.S. the attached T.V. remote was difficult to operate.

After 1 year with the TV the sound went out which made the TV unwatchable. I called SquareTrade to fix my broken TV and after 2 weeks they brought a technician to come "fix" it. When the technician was done, the sound was working again. Now it is 3 months later and the sound went out AGAIN. I called SquareTrade to buy a new part (one that will actually work) and get a technician to fix my TV correctly. However they claim that all of the limited liability on my TV was used during the last repair. ALL $800 was used on new part that didn't even work and a technician. So now they tell me too bad and I'm out of luck. WHAT A RIPOFF. Terrible TV, terrible "protection plan"

I'm not sure how SHARP can live with selling products costing well over $1k that have a life expectancy of less than 2 years. At this point the TV turns on but endlessly loops through the "Sharp" screen. I've tried all the known methods of doing resets to no avail. I've started the process of contacting customer support but do not expect a positive outcome based on the experience of other consumers. Do yourself a favor and run away from Sharp TVs! On a side note if there is a class action lawsuit I'd be happy to join.

June 2013 purchased a brand new 70" Sharp Aquos LCD Television. June 2014 brown spot center of screen. TV had never been moved. Sharp replaced the TV with a USED ONE. I had to pay $185.00 for shipping. The replacement 70" TV's wireless connection never has worked, neither did any of the USB inputs NONE! So I am connected Via Ethernet, Coax and RCA Connections.

One year later June 2014 screen goes out. I called Sharp and was told that the replacement TV warranty WAS only good for thirty days PLUS if it was covered another $185.00 for shipping again. I had to replace the power board and did this myself for $30.00 to get the screen working again. My Mom has had a Panasonic for ten years with NO problems AT ALL. Since I can't afford a new one, I'm stuck watching television with two large black spots in the middle of the screen. Hi there cautious customers. I purchased a $10,000+ SHARP AQUOS 5 years ago. I have owned several sharp LCD televisions but this will be the last one and here's why. My TV began having blurred spots, almost black blob like areas in 2 spots that are very noticeable. I contacted sharp and this was the beginning of a 5-month correspondence. They suggested troubleshooting and after several attempts from on phone support they suggested I pay to have the TV serviced by their preferred area contacts in Ottawa HAGOPIAN. After 1 visit that lasted 2 minutes and $70 to tell me it was not repairable, I was not happy.

I reached out to SHARP again, after stating my case they asked if I had the original receipt. I told them that I didn't because I bought the TV some time ago however I have moved around several times since the purchase and this was noted and even the receptionist agreed that most people don't keep receipts that long. She took my info and had someone contact me for more info. After 2 days someone did get back to me and began the process to assist me. SHARP requested pictures of the TV, issues, MODEL #, and serial #. I sent over all the documents I had and while searching through online forums became aware of a class action lawsuit for this exact problem and model number. I was blown away to read all this.

I received a call back a few days and the representative had translated to me that I was going to be transferred from the USA department and transferred to the Canadian office and that I can expect compensation of some sort. I asked her to make it clear again, I was expecting to get a refund or replacement and she confirmed and agreed that $10,000 is a lot of money to go down the drain.

A few days later I had received a call and they left a message directing me to send info I had already sent. I again sent everything I had on the TV and they contacted HAGOPIAN to receive the diagnostic on the panel. They reached out again and asked for receipts, I let them know that I no longer had a receipt and my original store closed. I know it's totally not a good thing, but that's the marketplace today and how convenient for them to view all my documents and base a decision on this.

My TV is part of a class action lawsuits for shady workmanship, I took their recommendations to have my TV troubleshot and evaluated by technicians at my expense, multiple interactions with the reps when they know damn well I had no receipt, police records show it's not stolen, the serial # is their TV and make and after all these reasons they still make a trivial decision on the outcome of my case based on the fact I don't have a receipt when they know damn well most people wouldn't keep a receipt this long. How convenient for them right, they are absolutely the worst crooks in the business. How is it fair, I'm out of pocket and they don't even want to help. How can they be so inconsiderate to customers, I tell you this is the worst customer service I have ever received.

I bought my Sharp Aquos T.V. LC-55UB30U last December (12/29/15) and had issues with it right away. At first I thought it was just a fluke, how the TV turned itself off. It was not. By March I had called enough times, with separate issues, that Sharp sent out a repairman to change one of the boards in the TV. Problem solved? Not quite. Again, multiple call over months of sporadic problems warranted another repairman to come out and replace two boards in the TV.

Like before, I am still having sporadic problems with my TV restarting for no apparent reason. In November I asked Sharp to replace my TV. I have had the TV under a year, they sent out (2) different repairmen to fix the problems (which started in January) and that problem is still plaguing me. Sharp will only replace my TV with a refurbished model. I told them that I bought a NEW TV not a refurbished TV, and I want my TV replaced with a new one.

I am not asking for a bigger TV, a higher end model or anything else. All I want is a new TV, the model that I paid for, that works. I don't know how many of you out there reading this feel about refurbished electronics but if I am having problems with my new TV, why would I want to risk inheriting someone else's problems? Sharp explained that my TV does not fall under a warranty any longer, and that if I want I can have either a refurbished TV or nothing at all. Sharp does not stand behind their products or appreciate your patronage. From my experience, I would highly encourage you to explore the different selections that other manufactures have to offer.

The Deal - the same TV "Re-certified" from Sharp. (I thought they didn't have parts??) $650 delivered and setup. So let's do the math. 1st TV 3 years 1800.00= $600 a year to own it. 2nd TV let's say it last the same as the first one and by looking at all these reviews I'd say I'm being more than fair. 1st TV... 3 years... 2nd TV 3years... 6 years of Sharp TV's now cost for those 6 years 1800 plus 650 for 2nd TV = $2450/ 6years = $408 per year / 12months $34 per month to own a Sharp TV.

These TV's should be lasting at least 10 years. Remember when you'd buy a Picture Tube-TV for $399 and it last like 20 years?? Word to the Wise here.... Don't BUY SHARP anything. The only reason Sharp is even dealing with us because they don't want a recall which would cost them $$$ because it would be free repair to us but this way they make us feel like we are getting a deal for $650. This is the worst purchase I have ever made. I purchased tv from Costco aver a year ago in September 2015 as Christmas gift for husband. I was unaware that my 90 day return policy would be void by early purchase. Usually if you purchase as a Christmas gift then that is date they will honor. My mistake or I would have a refund of 2600.00 that I paid and purchased another brand. Problems: At least 3 times a week tv will not read wi-fi. The only way that we have found to get tv to read wi-fi is to go back to factory settings and start all over again with setup. We have Hulu and Netflix etc and all the accounts have to be reset up also so this turns into a 15 minutes process. Imagine that frustration several times a week. Our wi-fi signal is plenty powerful enough to support tv, problem is in the card reader in tv, per repair man that was sent out 5 times to make repairs.

Every modem board in tv replaced, card replaced, picture quality diminished and many times we get picture with no volume. It took us over six months to get Sharp to replace tv when the repair person they sent out called them and told them even after repair tv was not working properly. When they finally agreed, only because Costco concierge services was on our side, they said they would send me a refurbished unit which was another 45 day battle because I refused to accept refurbished. If I wanted a refurbished tv I would have not spent 2600.00. I asked for a refund the entire time which they refused to give and my 90 day Costco refund was up before we ever took it out of box. I was screwed.

Sharp was extremely difficult to work with and they do not stand behind the product and see to it that customer is satisfied. Tv still does not work properly and in a couple years when I save enough money up again I will get my husband a better tv for a gift. I saved for 4 years to purchase this one and was so excited for him on Christmas am and what a disappointment. Sharp products of any kind will never be brought and put in our home again. If you are looking to purchase a great 70 in wifi smart tv this is not your tv... Keep moving along!!!

So I call Sharp customer support and they get me setup and tell me to sent them proof of purchase which I did and never got back to me and I call a week later and they tell to sent proof of purchase again.

So here I am 10 days later they tell me that a technician will call within 48 hours and nothing. 3 days later the technician calls and tells me that the part which was to arrive to him hasn't arrived. He will no longer wait so Sharp customer service calls me to tell me that by next week a new technician will be available and will call me to make an appointment. Overall they suck in customer service. Their tv break easy. I don't know why Best Buy sells their things. Don't buy their tv. So here I am waiting to see when my tv will finally be fix and if it does it probably will be breaking soon since from time to time the images went all blurry. Now it just keeps turning on and off.

Sears repairman said LCD screen was bad and unlikely to be able to repair due to Sharp not producing this part anymore. So called Sharp to report this dx and ask if they would offer recompense, since TV was only 5 months past one-year warranty period. Customer Service was very polite and seemed to want to work with me.

They asked for several pieces of documentation, including proof of purchase, pictures of screen with TV on, picture of model # and serial #. So went to all the trouble to get and send this info, only to have Sharp do nothing more than contact another repair shop, which offered to do another $100.00 diagnostic before recommending repairs. Keeping in mind that Sharp never agreed to pay anything as compensation, I declined and wrote TV off as a total loss/bust. Have since bought a Consumer Reports-recommended LG 65", with a two-year warranty. Better TV, better picture, roughly the same price. Understand Sharp may be going out of business. None too soon.

As a retailer, I take pride in providing good products at equitable pricing. We sell many brands, including LG, Samsung, Sharp, Sony, etc. The TV that is in question is an 80" model- LC80LE844U. It failed in less than 4 years of in-home use, and there is no factory or distributor inventory of parts to repair it. The initial retail price of $5,124.50 is wasted. Sharp thus far has refused to assist in finding a part or offering a re-furbished or discounted replacement. Other brands in similar situations have offered some solace in terms of vouchers, discounts, or other means of keeping a customer satisfied.

I understand the product is out of warranty (free service, or parts), but refusal to assist is poor consumer relations. I hope the new owners of Sharp electronics don't follow this precedent (Hisense). We take all of this into consideration when selecting the brands we sell. I will be glad to report an update if there is some resolution by Sharp's review group. Thus far, nothing.

Just experienced my first purchase/ownership experience with Sharp and it will be my last. In short, as a consumer, I have been taken complete advantage of and left with no recourse to make things right. I purchased a 60" Sharp Aquos Smart TV - LC60EQ10U through Sears. I paid nearly $400 for the 3 year extended warranty through Sears (MPA - Master Protection Agreement). The TV sat on a stand and wasn't overly used or had gaming devices connected. Just DirecTV. 10 months later the screen began to flicker and eventually went out a few days later. After notifying all parties connected to the warranty/MPA they scheduled a technician to determine the issue. 7 days later the technician confirmed my initial suspicion that it was a defective unit and said Sharp would contact me within 7-10 business days with a resolution.

8 days later I receive a call from Sharp and their solution to my issue was to send me a refurbished unit that (in their words) can have aesthetic imperfections but should work as new. I declined and requested a new unit, as I purchased mine new. Sharp referred me to the Sears MPA department. Sears declined to assist as it was within the 1 year manufacturer's warranty and referred me back to Sharp. During my discussion with Sharp it was disclosed that by accepting their offer of a refurbished unit, I would be accepting only a 90 day warranty from them. Obviously, at this point I'm disgusted by their unwillingness to make things right. They declined my request for a 1 year manufacturer's warranty and will not move any higher than 90 days. I contacted Sears MPA department and was informed my extended warranty could not be transferred to the refurbished unit because it's not considered new. Nothing they can do about it.

I requested a refund on my useless MPA and will only receive a portion of it returned. I have been without a television going on a month now and have been forced to accept a defective television that was returned to them, that they repaired and cleaned and oh by the way - they will only guarantee will work for 90 days. Sharp suggested I purchase an extended warranty through them if I was concerned about it failing after the 90 days. Are you kidding? Pay more money for a warranty on a used product that is replacing a new product that I purchased and wasted money on the initial extended warranty through Sears?

This, my fellow consumers, is how large corporations feel about the people that keep them in business by buying their products. I can assure you that not only will I never visit a Sears outlet, store or website nor purchase a Sharp or Hisense product, but I will share this story with anyone seeking to purchase a TV, audio or any other electronic device. Beware of the fine print.

I bought a Sharp 55" 4K Ultra HD LED tv for my husband's birthday in October 2015. Shortly after purchasing a small green square showed up in the lower right hand corner of the tv on shows that were not full screen. 4 months after purchase the remote control quit working. We contacted Sharp. At first we were told the remote control only has a 3 month warranty. Then we emailed Sharp and were told that in fact the remote control and tv both have a 1 year manufacture's warranty. We explained that our remote control is not working and there is a green square in the corner. They sent out a technician who replaced the eye and the power board. The remote still did not work and the small green square tripled in size.

The technician recommended replacement of the tv and said Sharp would be in contact with us. We waited a week and never heard from Sharp. We contacted them again, they said they think the problem is our cable box but when we connect another tv to the box and hdmi cable there is no green square. We asked about a replacement remote control since ours still doesn't work. They said they would order one and wanted to send another technician out. Another week went by and no remote or call from technician. We contacted them again. No remote had been ordered and again they believe the issue is our cable box. They again said a remote would be sent to us and a technician would contact us. The remote came a few days later.

The technician came a few days after that. He replaced the mother board, the large green/purple square is still in the corner along with a line across the top. This technician also recommended replacement of the tv and said Sharp would be in touch with us. Again, Sharp did not contact us. We had to contact them. Again, Sharp say they believe the issue is our cable box but agreed to replace our tv with a "re-certified" tv and would revert to Best Buy's refund policy of 15 days; although they are the manufacturer and have a 1 year manufacturer's warranty. We absolutely will not buy another Sharp product and we want a refund for this tv. We are still waiting on a call back from them after explaining we will not take a re-certified tv and insist on a refund.

I purchased two 70 TVs Sharp electronics branded. One was purchased 2 years ago for $2,300 which is in my family room and with a young child we watch minimal TV. I notice recently (March 10th, 2016) white spots on the TV screen. Internet shows other Sharp customers complaining about the same exact issues. I call and email Sharp to see what can be done. 2 days go by and I receive an email asking for pictures and proof of purchase information and certain pics of serial # and various setup menus and screens. I quickly forward back this info which then 3 days go by and they then ask for more pics which I then send in again. 3 more days go by they ask for a pic of the menu screen again, then three more days go by and someone contacts me to tell me my TV set is not under warranty (yeah... we knew this a long time ago considering your terrible warranty on new products is one year for a TV that costs $2,300).

Sharp explains to me as a gesture of good faith they are going to send me a refurbished replacement of the identical unit for a price of $550 (basically their cost of a new one). I agree and ask the rep on the phone I would rather have another unit considering the customer service reps on the phone acknowledged the presence of these white spot issues on TVs they manufactured 1-3 years ago and Sharp does not know what is causing the issue and does not know how to resolve the issue they just know newer units are not experiencing this. The rep on the phone assures me that the refurb is tested for quality and states that the TV will NOT come with the same problems and that I have 90 days to return it if something happens. Great right?

2 weeks go by the new TV arrives, the shipping company unboxes the unit & takes down the old unit, and we turn it on & the replacement unit have the same white spot issue directly out of the box. And as an extra added bonus the top of the TV frame was scuffed pretty bad. I felt terrible making them take this one down and put my original backup on the wall & refused shipment. Called Sharp about this and case being reviewed again I get a call back. The rep says that they have agreed to send me a different model which is better. I ask what the model # is and I look up on google while I am talking to him on the phone. This unit has less HDMI ports & a glowing 1.0 star review on Amazon and Walmart websites with many complaining how this TV is HORRIBLE.

I explain to the rep on the phone this is NOT acceptable to me paying $550 for what was agreed upon (the identical model) and now am trying to be sent a lesser model for the same price. He then placed me on hold for a long amount of time and came back and said he would put my case out for review again. 2 weeks go by and all the sudden a credit shows up from Sharp electronics on my credit card for $550 so I call them back referencing my case number. Rep gets on the phone and they tell me I asked that my case be cancelled. I explained to the rep on the phone exactly what I said to the previous representative that if they cannot provide me with an equal TV or better TV that is what I paid $550 dollars for and if that is not possible then I would like my money returned to me and to be notified prior to that happening.

And the kicker is they tell me that because my case was cancelled without my knowledge or agreement to this happening that they cannot open the case again. So a customer that buys $4,700 worth of products in two years and this is how they treat them!!! I also have been still waiting for a callback from the last rep who I talked to roughly a week and a half ago who told me he would call me back personally in 2 days. Worst customer service & products I have ever experienced and am in the process of opening up a small claims court case and I will tell this story so many times to so many potential customers and leave this review everywhere you can even imagine on the internet. Hope this saves some other innocent person some money.

I purchased a Sharp LC-70LE640 Television in January of 2013. It lasted three years and one month, then the screen began to produce a distorted image. Color will not adjust (turned red and black) and image is out of focus. I had a service person look at it and was told the screen has failed. The television looks perfect and has not been heavily used. The television it replaced was 65 inch and almost 10 years old. It still worked when replaced (a Mitsubishi). This television was just over $2,000 new and is a complete write off in three years. I own three other brands and will never purchase a Sharp television again.

Bought a 80" Sharp smart Aquos tv HD and after less than two years my tv went black and won’t reset. Called out two separate T.V. repair guys. Both not knowing the other one was here comes up with the exact same problem.T. V. is no good. The panel lcd board and light went out and I have to buy another TV ‘cause this one cost (2) two thousand dollars to repair. Who has that kind of money to repair something that Youtube, and Google reviews have already proved that this is an issue all over the country and Sharp knows about it but yet keeps selling the tv to all the unknown people putting OUR money's in their pocket and turning the other cheek on us consumers?

This is wrong. We are hardworking citizens trying to making a living while the dirtiness and greed of SHARP TV'S continue to RIP US OFF. Where is the fairness in this? You have my money and I have your defective merchandise. I demand an explanation from SHARP. How they can sleep at night knowing they're selling defective SHARP TV'S to us consumers.

I received a sharp AQUOS 55" smart Tv as a Christmas present on 9/23/2015. The TV has not been used that much, now five months later I go to turn the TV on and the screen is black and the word Sharp is stuck on my TV. I was told to download information given to me so I could reboot my TV. I did that but it still did nothing. I then requested a new one and was told THAT WAS NOT AN OPTION. I requested someone come out to look at the TV and I was then told my request was cash on delivery for the service. The company claims that was a mistake but thought my whole control board needed to be replaced. I would call that "REFURBISHED". I have spoken to numerous people about this problem and I have gotten nowhere.

They want to send someone out to fix the TV (basically rebuild it) and will not extend my warranty. I feel if they are confident in the workers they have then they should extend my warranty from the day it is fixed. They had the nerve to say I could buy a warranty from them. This company does not stand behind their products and does not care about the customer after they have your money! There is no way a TV should have to be rebuilt and it hasn't even been a year. Word of advice: Do not purchase any Sharp TV from any store period! IT MAY BE A GOOD STORE BUT THE SHARP COMPANY WILL NOT STAND BY THEIR MERCHANDISE OR THEIR CUSTOMER!

We purchased the Sharp Aquos 70 LC-70LE757U just a little over 2 years ago. Then one day the TV started to have funny wiggly lines and the picture turned reddish, and slowly over a period of a couple of hours went blank. Took it to a Sharp technician who said the TV screen is "hooped" -- beyond repairs. ARE YOU KIDDING? All that money and it only lasted 2 years? I see that I am not the only one with the same complaint. We are telling everyone and will not buy a SHARP product again.

We purchased a AQUOS 72' TV June 2014. Ninety day warranty sounds good right? Well I'm here to tell you if you have sense never buy a Sharp product. They make faulty TVs suddenly don't make that anymore. Call for parts 1500. Who can afford that? Call them - "Sorry warranty out." TV only year and half old - like the big warranty helped at all. So I know now SHARP doesn't stand by their stuff or care about our hard earned cash we spend on their junk.

Sharp Aquos LC-60EQ10U - Stay away from SHARP LED TVs period. As this is an LED Plasma screen I had anticipated a possible "burn-in” scenario and planned accordingly (screensaver, auto shut off, etc.). What I did not account for nor could I have, and if you buy this unit will suffer from is “Internal Heat Burn-In”. The actual internals are slowly cooking/destroying the screen. To test the eventual scenario and verify it for yourself leave the unit on for an hour then place your hand on the lower center portion of the screen and you will notice a “hot” spot. This is where the burn-in will develop over time until there is nothing but a large brown stain on the screen at all times.

It truly boggles my mind how Sharp stays viable as a company without taking care of the customer. I could regale you with the trials and tribulations of customer support, but why? I will try another manufacturer and keep searching until I find one that will make things right, not to my advantage, just right. Then I will buy whatever they offer. I hope I am able to come back here one day and make others aware of the “right choice” but all I can say with certainty is… Don’t buy from Sharp and I will never purchase from them again.

I purchased a 70 inch Sharp television Model # LC70LE650U on 6/22/14 and on 3/20/16 black lines began moving across the screen. It eventually got worse making the TV unwatchable. I had a TV technician come out (recommended by Sharp) and he advised that repairing this TV would cost around $1,350. I paid $1,500 for the TV brand new. I called Sharp to replace or refund the television because 2 years is not an acceptable life cycle for a television. I spoke with three different people, last one being Crystal, the manager and all basically said "you are out of luck. We can't do anything to help you because it is over a year old." I truly find that disgraceful. Consumers should not have to purchase an extended warranty on a product for it to ensure that it will last 2 years.

After reading the reviews here, I know that I am not alone, and I am 100% sure I will never purchase another Sharp product EVER AGAIN. I hope to get the word out to as many people as I can about this terrible company. They are clearly okay with taking money from their customers and then dropping them like they are nothing when a problem arises. A company that does not stand by their product is a disgrace and apparently Sharp believes that less than 2 years is an appropriate life cycle for their 70 inch television.

Do not ever purchase a Sharp tv. The customer service was horrific! I purchased a tv paid with additional warranty of $300.00 for added 3 years. In less than 7 months the TV went blank. After contacting Sharp they ask me perform a task to troubleshoot the problem. FAILURE! They now need a receipt of purchase! When I purchased TV I registered all numbers associated with the product S/N, Make Model plus my name address etc. No record of purchase. I emailed my receipt.

After 7 weeks speaking with Top Management he could not tell me a replacement date and he was so sorry. My wife was on the phone when he said those ridiculous apologies. We told we want our money back to purchase TV or replacement of TV comparable to our purchase. Still no recourse other than they are waiting for another failed TV that is similar to our purchase. This is even more ridiculous when I said when will that happen Top Management still could not tell me when we would have a replacement TV.

I purchased a 60" Sharp Aquos LCD television from Sears and the product did not work properly from the start. It was an expensive television that was supposed to be of Quality. I guess the Sharp name is going down hill. The screen had red stripes going vertically and it rendered the television useless. After a frustrating few months of back and forth with Sharp, they finally agreed to send me a replacement TV. After a few months the new TV started to develop stripes just like the original one. Now I am left with a horrible picture with vertical stripes rendering the TV essentially useless and no warranty. I would not recommend Sharp to family or friends and due to this experience, I will never buy a Sharp TV again.

I called Sharp to try to reset. It would not reset. I requested to be directed to someone in charge. They told me the repair job would be $150 - $185.00. Curbed it and will never buy another Sharp product again. Another reputable company down the drain and doesn't stand by their products.

I purchased a Sharp Brand 70" TV less than three years ago. I turned on the TV a few days ago and there is now a green line running down the entire screen. That was enough to make it unwatchable but as of yesterday the set now turns on and off by itself. I understand this set is out of warranty but I asked if it could be repaired or if they could offer me a discount on a new set. The customer service people were not exactly rude but they were not in any way accommodating. They told me in no uncertain terms I was screwed. I then offered the suggestion that they were telling me 3 years for a 2000 dollar television is a reasonable expectation for quality? They said "no" but you are screwed anyway.

Please do not buy these low quality sets. Look to another more concerned manufacturer that is able to understand that if a product is low quality, they should still stand behind it and help consumers who have been taken advantage of. I AM ABOUT TO TAKE MY 70" TELEVISION TO THE DUMP AND IT FEELS LIKE I JUST BOUGHT IT!!! I believe in using buying power as leverage so I warn you to stay away from SHARP low quality products.
