At the end of Oct 2023 I purchased a 65" Phillips tv model # 65PFL5766/F7. Soon after I started having problems with the TV lagging & freezing so I connected it directly to the router but that did not resolve the issue. I thought it was my internet provider so I didn't consider calling Phillips at the time. After a year I was able to upgrade my router but it didn't seem to help. I thought it was because I had midgrade service & too many device that there was no improvement so I switched TV to a room where it wasn't really used. In March of 2025 I moved to a new house with upgraded internet service & the problem continued as well as other issues like my tv will sometimes not power on unless I unplug it for a few seconds then power it on. This TV should have been recalled. The manufacturer date on my TV is July 2023. I have TVs with tubes in them that still work! This is unacceptable. This TV is absolute garbage.
The picture is nice the sound is great but what good is that if you can't watch anything because it keeps losing signal and customer service will just tell you to go through the apps & clear the cache. That does absolutely nothing. I wish I would have known from the beginning it was the TV and not my internet provider. I could have gotten my money back. Unfortunately I can't afford to replace this junk & they aren't offering to fix it. I have read several complaints about Phillips 65" 4k TV's from Walmart with the same issue. I believe they were cheaply made. Sold a a low price to rip off lower income people. What can we do about it. We're stuck with these TVs and Phillips made their money.

I cannot believe a TV is this dysfunctional. I actually have 2 of them I bought in September 2022, and from the get go there have been constant problems. There are times when they just will not power on. There is no button on the TV itself to do a reset, so it requires me to climb up on a chair and go behind my TVs to the outlet to unplug and replug them in. Most of the time that will get them to power on. And then they seem to take turns as to having the Inputs not working. It will go out, which means I cannot watch my cable TV, DVDs, or anything else you would have plugged into your inputs.
I will try to go there, and then it will just disconnect from it and go back to the home screen. Then the TVs will miraculously fix themselves, and it will work for a little while before it decides to go out again. And both of my TVs do this, so it is clearly a systemic problem they have. Even whenever I do a software update, it will still not work or work for a little bit and then go back to breaking again. Also there is a general bugginess with both of them, including freezing up, delayed clicks, etc. that occur very frequently.

The live tv is very iffy. Everything we watch live tv it will continuously just return back to main menu. It does this over 20x's a day. Turning the channels do not work like it should. In order to turn a channel, I would have to hit the home button and go back to live tv. Wish I could return it. Not happy at all. Reached out to CS numerous times and no response back from either messages I sent.

I've owned my Philips tv for a few years now. First year it was amazing, great picture quality, sound and everything. Then 2nd year rolls around and it seems to just start going downhill. Every app I use (Hulu, netflix, Amazon Video, YouTube) lags, audio cuts out, freezes and goes back to main screen or just restarts the tv altogether. I've reset, unplugged changed cables and nothing seems to work. It's not the apps because my daughter has a different brand tv in her room and it runs them all perfectly. If you're looking for a tv for only a year, sure I suggest this one. Longer than a year, please stay away from this one. Philips used to be amazing. I do not know what happened.

My TV is only 3 years old and I'm having audio issues every few times I turn the TV on. I have no sound. I did everything to try and fix it. I changed cable wire. I reset the sound. The only way to get it back on is to pull the plug, wait 60 seconds and then turn it back on and then it works for a while and then stops again. Very annoying. I will never buy another Philips because it's only 3 years old. This should not be happening.

Absolutely the worst TV on the market. DO NOT buy a Philips under any circumstance. How they can sell this crap is beyond me. Most irritating electronic in the house. You'll be watching a show and it just turns itself off. We have 3 other TVs and they are all Vizios and work perfectly. NEVER again would I give this company my $. Ridiculous!!

I have a 50" Philips smart TV. Have had 3 years. Since day 1, it's sketchy. TV wifi itself is horrible. I'm always having streaming issues while, none on other tvs around the house. I'm constantly having issues getting into my home apps, always having to shut down my throat, then restart. At least 5x a week. It's a constant problem. 270.00 TV after taxes and all. Not worth the money, nor television itself. Shame on the tech behind the making of these televisions. I deserve a replacement of my choice!

Had this tv for less than 2 years, have white dots appearing on screen and they wanna charge me to fix it. Stay far away from their products as they won't back them up..Pretty crazy that Onn will back their products more than Phillips

So they've forced an update I rejected. Now their streaming service switches off what I'm watching after 5 min, whether it's YouTube, Netflix, amazon etc and just plays this low quality news stream. Honestly for the year I've had this TV I've hated it, in the shop on the box it said android TV it's not until you try use Android features you realise they've put a small Phillips logo above the Android to get around the fact it's not an android TV. Shady mothers.

We purchased a Philips tv (65”) a year ago. The tv picture stopped working on 12/28/2024. We had sound but no picture, we went through the troubleshooting process with Philips and that’s when the problems bega, they demanded pictures of the tv, and stated they wouldn’t go any further until they got them, so we sent the pictures to them, this went on for over a week, the First Lady we spoke with said the entire process would take about a week after they received the photos, the Second Lady literally laughed when I told her the First Lady said a week, with sarcasm in her voice she said it’s more like a month or two and that’s if we accept everything, so fast forward to last week we got a call and they said they processed the claim and a repairman would be out,,,, no call no show on the repairman,
I called back in and they said that they assigned to a repair shop that does walk ins only,,, I asked what repair shop an they said they didn’t know the name of it,,, after another hour of hold time the best they could do was reassign it and they said somebody would get in touch with us in 24-48 hours, mind you we called in on a Saturday so that mean Tuesday or Weds of the following week and that’s if they called back!!! It’s clear to see they don’t want to honor the 2 year warranty and just use the warranty as a sales pitch!!! Buyer beware and please purchase another brand

I bought two of these 55PUL6643/F4 TVs at a sale by Sam's Club. 20 days past the return date both are black screen. Philips has me jumping through hoops to get a repair. Oh let me be clear. So far I haven't heard back from Philips for a repair so I might be stuck with two broken TVs. They had me send them a picture of the TV, the serial number and receipt.

I bought the Philips brand Google TV last year 2003. It’s very glitchy. It does not move through the apps without stalling out and sometimes not even connecting to the app at all. I wish I would’ve brought a different brand. I’m not a happy person.

I bought a Philips TV few years ago. Was great first 1-2 years but with updates has just become unworkable and terrible. I should have spent more and bought a better TV. You get what you pay for. Today I couldn’t even select anything. Just move cursor around menu. Completely useless. Buy if you want an expensive large paperweight.

Horrible connection, often needs some level of reset whether it’s turning off and on or something more, and forces apps onto you. The worst sound of any TV I’ve owned and to make it worse it connects to the soundbar maybe 25% of the time even though it’s hard-wired. I would never recommend a Phillips TV.

Philips 65PFL5766/F7 is a piece of trash that repeatedly freezes and requires restart multiple times per day. I contacted Philips and they pretended to go through steps of honoring their own warranty but then decided they would use the tired excuse that the pictures were too blurry to visualize. Essentially they gaslight me until I realized I would not be able to have them honor the warranty.

I have had this television for 16 months. Now the tv is stuck in recovery mode. Factory warranty is out. Extended warranty through Squaretrade will not cover it either saying it is a software issue and therefore not covered under this warranty. Extended warranty representative said Philips should have covered it even after normal warranty term limit. So now I have a useless television and a useless warranty. Will not purchase another Philips television in the future.

Screen picture went to blue screen, had this tv for 1 year 11 months. Have to set up tv before I can watch it every time I turn it on. Tried to get help and they said I'd have to call a tv repairman to get it fixed at my expense. I will never buy a tv from Phillips ever again. They don't back their products. Tv has never moved since I bought it. I spent 300.00 dollars for a piece of scrap tv. Do not buy didn't even want to give it a one star review. And as far as a extended warranty they're not worth buying cause the retailer won't back up their extended warranty. They just take your money and give you a reason they won't back.

It just started looking like this for no reason. I contacted Phillips and they told me only had a 1 year warranty to cover these types of issues. Seems like they know they’re selling garbage and protecting it with a 1 year warranty. I’ll never purchase another television from Phillips or any company they’re affiliated with.

I am stunned... I bought the 65" Philips in March 2023.... It isn't even my daily TV.... We use the TCL in the bedroom every day. This was the living room TV and by now (mid July 2024) it had.... Maybe... 300-400 hrs of use. The TV is only 16 months old. I was watching TV when something popped up about the Internet connection to it. It said I had to hit the button to restart now. I hit restart and my screen becomes a mass of colors and no picture. I press a button on the remote and it looks like it is back to the OS launch screen from the highlights I see on screen when I hit up or down. I unplug it and get in touch with Customer Service.... They tell me send a pic and then they say to do a factory reset. I turn the TV back on and it is just black and white bars filling the screen now....
Pushed the reset button for 15 secs....briefly saw the Philips logo through bars and heard something from the TV about pressing a button on the remote to stop voice assist so we know the factory reset worked. Customer Service then says I bought the TV February 2023 so I have no warranty from them. (I actually bought it in mid March not February). Then asked if I bought extended warranty. I said I bought Philips... If I bought a Philips and didn't think it would last 2 years I wouldn't have bought the TV. I bought Philips because I thought it was still a high quality product. Customer Service actually told me that all brands experience this type of failure. I say... If that is the case then why buy a brand name TV.... If all TV brands commonly fail wouldn't it make more sense to buy an Onn or Hisense at half the price? I was under the assumption that companies still stood behind the quality of their product.
Then customer service sends me a number with an area code I've never seen and said to take it there to get it fixed. So I say... You admit this is a common problem and a known problem... You acknowledge that the product failed prematurely and now you want me to go to your people to fix it? So you get paid for selling me a defective product? I said I don't even know the area code of the number he sent. He said it's Dover Delaware. I live in Jersey.... Where they referred me is over 50 miles away. Take a product you acknowledge failed because of your company and take it 50 miles to have them overcharge me to fix it with no discount.... No incentive.... Just the vagueness that they're the only ones who can fix it.
Nah.... I know enough about electronics... If I have no warranty I really have nothing to lose.... I'm pretty sure it is a T-con malfunction... I'll take the back off.... Use my multimeter... If that's the case I'll order it offline and fix it myself.... A Philips product doesn't even last 2 years... Hell it didn't even last a year and a half... 16 months... And they admit it is a common problem... I guarantee you would never hear Sony say their products are known to fail... They have a reputation.... You don't buy extended warranty for quality products because A. The company wants to remain seen as quality company and makes sure every unit is up to par... B. If somehow it did still fail incredibly early like mine did and it wasn't customer fault but company fault they would do something to rectify it.
Philips at one time made quality products... Those days are done... They don't even stand behind their products anymore. Shoulda got the TCL.... I already had the 43" TCL and knew its quality... Still going strong btw over 3 1/2 years later... This is how companies eventually go out of business... It doesn't happen overnight.... It's very slow... Lose a customer here... They tell their family and friends when they're going to buy a TV.... Don't get a Philips... And slowly but surely the market turns and you're out of business...

I bought a Philips TV at Walmart for my Dad as a Christmas present in December. It has been hanging on the wall and working perfectly until this week. All of a sudden, the tv now has lines through it, and he is unable to watch television. The TV has not been moved or touched since hanging it on the wall in December. My dad is an 80-year-old man that sits on the couch, uses the remote only, and watches television most of the day. After sending pictures of the TV to Philips customer service team, they assume that there is an internal crack and not covered under their warranty. I am at a loss because no one has touched this tv since it's been hung. I asked if someone could come out and look at it to re-evaluate the TV in person, and they declined, saying that they could determine that something happened from the pictures.
Their very unprofessional Supervisor insinuated that we were lying and that we damaged the TV, and that there is nothing that Philips will do. I guess it's my fault for buying this Philips TV and not reading the reviews. Now, after reading a lot of reviews, this is a common problem with their products. Over the years, we have had many different brand TVs in our family, and have never had an issue like this. I feel awful that my 80-year-old dad is unable to sit in his recliner and watch his tv shows. Hopefully, this is helpful to anyone looking to buy a TV. DO NOT BUY PHILIPS. They do not stand by their product.
