Philips TV - 5700 series 4K UltraHD LED Android TV 50PFL5766/F7 purchased on 05/2021. Stopped working on 01/2024. Contacted Philips and they won't help. It appears anytime I call or chat, is the same representative that communicates with me.

    - Philips does not have support staff dedicated to customer issues

    - No reason for a TV to stop working in 3 years of usage

Please DO NOT PURCHASE ANY PHILIPS PRODUCT. Bad customer service, poor products...

I am stunned... I bought the 65" Philips in March 2023.... It isn't even my daily TV.... We use the TCL in the bedroom every day. This was the living room TV and by now (mid July 2024) it had.... Maybe... 300-400 hrs of use. The TV is only 16 months old. I was watching TV when something popped up about the Internet connection to it. It said I had to hit the button to restart now. I hit restart and my screen becomes a mass of colors and no picture. I press a button on the remote and it looks like it is back to the OS launch screen from the highlights I see on screen when I hit up or down. I unplug it and get in touch with Customer Service.... They tell me send a pic and then they say to do a factory reset. I turn the TV back on and it is just black and white bars filling the screen now....

Pushed the reset button for 15 secs....briefly saw the Philips logo through bars and heard something from the TV about pressing a button on the remote to stop voice assist so we know the factory reset worked. Customer Service then says I bought the TV February 2023 so I have no warranty from them. (I actually bought it in mid March not February). Then asked if I bought extended warranty. I said I bought Philips... If I bought a Philips and didn't think it would last 2 years I wouldn't have bought the TV. I bought Philips because I thought it was still a high quality product. Customer Service actually told me that all brands experience this type of failure. I say... If that is the case then why buy a brand name TV.... If all TV brands commonly fail wouldn't it make more sense to buy an Onn or Hisense at half the price? I was under the assumption that companies still stood behind the quality of their product.

Then customer service sends me a number with an area code I've never seen and said to take it there to get it fixed. So I say... You admit this is a common problem and a known problem... You acknowledge that the product failed prematurely and now you want me to go to your people to fix it? So you get paid for selling me a defective product? I said I don't even know the area code of the number he sent. He said it's Dover Delaware. I live in Jersey.... Where they referred me is over 50 miles away. Take a product you acknowledge failed because of your company and take it 50 miles to have them overcharge me to fix it with no discount.... No incentive.... Just the vagueness that they're the only ones who can fix it.

Nah.... I know enough about electronics... If I have no warranty I really have nothing to lose.... I'm pretty sure it is a T-con malfunction... I'll take the back off.... Use my multimeter... If that's the case I'll order it offline and fix it myself.... A Philips product doesn't even last 2 years... Hell it didn't even last a year and a half... 16 months... And they admit it is a common problem... I guarantee you would never hear Sony say their products are known to fail... They have a reputation.... You don't buy extended warranty for quality products because A. The company wants to remain seen as quality company and makes sure every unit is up to par... B. If somehow it did still fail incredibly early like mine did and it wasn't customer fault but company fault they would do something to rectify it.

Philips at one time made quality products... Those days are done... They don't even stand behind their products anymore. Shoulda got the TCL.... I already had the 43" TCL and knew its quality... Still going strong btw over 3 1/2 years later... This is how companies eventually go out of business... It doesn't happen overnight.... It's very slow... Lose a customer here... They tell their family and friends when they're going to buy a TV.... Don't get a Philips... And slowly but surely the market turns and you're out of business...

Terrible, useless tv. Bought this Philips android tv few years ago. Within the first year the tv acted very slow and the amounts of apps that can be added are extremely limited, then it started telling me that the storage was full, nothing added and no way to clear it, now it wouldn't even open the main menu. It keeps blinking the screen on and off and you can't do anything. Terrible, useless tv.

I bought a Philips TV at Walmart for my Dad as a Christmas present in December. It has been hanging on the wall and working perfectly until this week. All of a sudden, the tv now has lines through it, and he is unable to watch television. The TV has not been moved or touched since hanging it on the wall in December. My dad is an 80-year-old man that sits on the couch, uses the remote only, and watches television most of the day. After sending pictures of the TV to Philips customer service team, they assume that there is an internal crack and not covered under their warranty. I am at a loss because no one has touched this tv since it's been hung. I asked if someone could come out and look at it to re-evaluate the TV in person, and they declined, saying that they could determine that something happened from the pictures.

Their very unprofessional Supervisor insinuated that we were lying and that we damaged the TV, and that there is nothing that Philips will do. I guess it's my fault for buying this Philips TV and not reading the reviews. Now, after reading a lot of reviews, this is a common problem with their products. Over the years, we have had many different brand TVs in our family, and have never had an issue like this. I feel awful that my 80-year-old dad is unable to sit in his recliner and watch his tv shows. Hopefully, this is helpful to anyone looking to buy a TV. DO NOT BUY PHILIPS. They do not stand by their product.

I purchased this TV just over a year ago and it quit working, just after the warranty expired. I tried everything and for a few times, if you unplugged it for 15 minutes it would work when plugged back in until you turned it off. I did factory reset and all the recommended fixes I saw online. I then called the Philips customer service and went through all the steps with their tech. This time it never came back up. She said I could take it to a repairman and maybe they could fix it. It would cost more to do that than to buy a new TV. I will buy a TV, but never a Philips again. No Philips anything again.

Customer service says "sorry...no extended warranty, no help. You might as well trash it and buy a new one." Pretty unacceptable for a TV that was only used a few hours a month. I purchased this television in October 2022. Three days ago, my husband accidentally unplugged the television while it was on. Once we tried to plug it back in it started giving us an error message. It would not turn on or off, only the error message on there all the time. I tried everything that was suggested online on the Philips website to reset the television with no luck.

I finally Called Philip customer service line and their representative told me that there was nothing they could do for me. There was a default in the television so they would like to send me to a technician so I could pay them more money to have my television fixed. This is a scam so they they sell you a television that’s faulty within a year and a half and then they sell you a technician to help fix it. There are way too many other good options out there for a good tv. My other television has lasted me over 10 years. We should not be still purchasing from companies like this. Philips, you should be ashamed of yourself. Buyer beware. Not a good product. I will never purchase from Philips again.

They have rejected a replacement or refund of the TV based on the fact that Sam's customer service had to send a duplicate receipt on a PDF template. It validated all information requested. They just simply wanted to get out of upholding the warranty. 14 days later I still have no refund or replacement television, and the only way I was able to even get a sensible response to a solution was to have Sam's Club customer service call on my behalf. I've never dealt with such unprofessionalism for such a well known company, but this experience can't be described as nothing more than pure disgusting with the way I've been treated after paying over $400 for a product.
