I bought a 50 Emerson TV on black Friday 2014 with a promise to have by Christmas and still haven't received it.

Purchased a 50" LED TV for my parents for Christmas 2013. The TV would not turn on and TV is less than 2 months out of warranty. Went to TV repair shop and told 300$ to fix the main board that had gone out. This is a luxury item that I thought would be of better quality. Emerson customer support offered no assistance. It is sad that such a company can not better assist its customers with such a problem. These expensive luxury items are not easily replaced by people on a budget. I can only caution individuals against buying such a low quality item with your hard earned money.

Received the 37" TV as a gift for Valentine's Day. Attempting to put the base on to the screen, I needed the 3 screws. None to be found. So I called the telephone # on the screen and she told me that the warranty was only good for 14 days, since the original purchase date was older than that. That was on the holiday of Monday this week (President's Day) and the parts dept. would not be there. So I called the first thing on Tuesday, and after being transferred from one area to 2 others and on the wait time of 35 minutes, I went back to original telephone # listed on the manual only to find out that the warranty this time was good for 12 days. Now keep in mind I only need the 3 screws, which now she told me that she could help me, but the cost now was $3.25 plus over $6.00 shipping and handling. What a rip off, when it was Emerson's fault that the screws were not in with the TV.

We purchases an Emerson 50 inch about one year ago. Today, it stopped working. It will not turn on. The electric connection is fine and we have tried to reset the unit but it is shot. We only use this particular TV on weekends so it has barely been used! What a waste of money. After reading all the reviews that involve the same types of issues, we plan to toss the TV and never purchase the brand again. How disappointing. You get what you pay for.

Bought the TV, Emerson 50" LED, at Wal-Mart's Blowout Black Friday sale 2014. It started shutting off at random. I would unplug it and reprogram it and that worked for a while. Now it won't come back on at all. I have had the TV a little over 2 months. Looking at other reviews, it seems these TVs have several problems. I would not recommend them at all. Now I have to hassle with trying to return it and spend MORE than I wanted to get a better TV...or could this have been their plan from the start???

My daughter purchased an emerson tv about 6 months ago. She had not even taken it out of the box. When the room was done she connected it. The tv kept shutting off after 30 minutes. After reading the manual over and over she finally called the customer assistance number. They walked the husband through reprogramming it however it did not solve the problem. When she called the customer number again it was basically "too bad". I am surprised that emerson would be like this. It basically is only good for the dumpster.

Bought the Emerson 50" TV flat screen at Walmart on Black Friday. Very unhappy with it. Picture was fuzzy and the lettering was in a stair step manner. We had an analog Emerson TV in the past we liked. We read reviews after purchase of the flat screen and saw that others had problems with Emerson warranty period and also early failures. We returned it to Walmart and got a 42" VIZIO which we love.

I bought the 50" TV at the Black Friday sale at Walmart. The TV has a volume problem -- it is very low and I have it on 100%. Every time the channel changes or it goes from one commercial to another, it's this popping noise like the old tics use to do. The price was great -- 218.00. But you get what you pay for a bunch of junk. Next time I will go with a well-known brand and spend hundreds of more dollars.

Received a 50" Emerson TV for Christmas from my Parents. Installed it on our wall and within 2 week, TV developed a crack on the side of the screen. Looks like someone hit it when you turn it on but no one has touch it. Customer service said they would send a repair person out within 5 business days. Two days later they called and said based on my cellphone pictures I sent of the TV that the problem was due to physical damage and that the warranty will not be honored. Wal-mart should be held liable for selling such a horrible product.

I said, "Okay," So I hooked both up right next to each other and actually the Emerson is hands down better. Both the same specs. Oh and by the way why is there only bad reviews for all TVs here? I rarely seen good review, and you think some people just have horrible luck with TVs. I don't know...I've had plenty of them and never had one actually break. Wtf it's a TV not a car, ha-ha.

Bought online years back after being disappointed at a certain store's black friday sale. I was after a sale on a different tv brand for 200 bucks, they didn't have too many and I was too late so I went home and shopped around and found my emerson 42 inch at walmart.com for 399 I think. This tv I have has been sooo awesome, very reliable, and a pleasure to own. First of all the sound is great which in itself is a score when 90% of the flat screen tvs sound is extremely tinny and just annoying. The picture has been very good and my overall experience has been just superb! I have had the tv maybe 4 or 5 years now and I have not looked back. Note that sometimes the component wires included with the tv sets of any brand get worn and distort the quality of the tvs performance. I would strongly recommend investing 10$ on a HDMI cable. Best of luck to all of you in the future, but Emerson has been good to me!

I bought a 32 in Emerson TV. After 8 months my TV stopped working and wouldn't even turn on anymore. I called customer service and was informed that I was over my 6 months warranty for parts. First off, I'm not paying a dime for a TV that can't even work for a year. How ridiculous. So after multiple complaints and asking to speak to supervisors and managers, which the manager never called me back, left a note for them to take care of it, I finally sent my TV back. After waiting over 30 days for my replacement, I opened the box with the tv they sent me. The tv had scratches on the screen, the entire trim was broken and falling apart. I was furious!!! I sent them a practically brand new TV that had not one scratch on it!!! Now after complaining I am having to go through this whole process again and wait another 30 plus days for a replacement. And I'm sure I will receive another piece of crap from their warehouse even though I asked nicely to be refunded, seeing as how I haven't had a working TV in over 3 months. DON'T BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!

I bought TV and in 6 month I had to replace remote receiver sensor. Under warranty but nearest warranty center was 5 hours away. If you are located in a city of less than 1 million, there is no warranty work available from Emerson. It cost me for part and labor $65 plus cost of carrying TV 2-100 mile trips to take and pickup. Now the TV remote is gone and no over the counter available. Special order $40. Meanwhile you lose a lot of TV viewing trying to keep it running. My suggestion that Emerson ought to be limited sales of TV to cities of 1 million where there is warranty centers so customers can get warranty service.

Don't understand how companies with poor products such as this are allowed to exist. Used maybe 20 hours when sound started just turning off. As mentioned earlier by another consumer, turning TV off and then back on would bring the sound back. Before another 20 hours of use screen developed a black streak about 4-5" wide just right of center going all the way down the screen. Far right of screen has the same thing looking more like a solid bar. Yes, TV is around a year old. Was bought for guest bedroom, therefore very little usage. Appears that when you buy Emerson flat screens you are absolutely throwing your money away. $199 + just down the drain.
It's a shame because I still have an Emerson (working) that I've had for 25 years that I told everyone was the best TV I'd ever owned. Guess they just don't know how to keep up with newer technology. They could at least try to do more for their customers. From what I've read, I won't even try to deal with them. Will certainly recommend not to purchase to everyone I know. Would like to see some class action activity here. Perhaps people should try to influence WalMart to not sell Emersons in the future.

I have truly spent the equivalent of two days on telephone and live chat and am no further forward than I was nearly 4 weeks ago. Agents have lied to me and I think that they just tell you anything to get you off the phone. This is a company listed on NYSE (SO) but they are no better even so. I am making this a crusade in the name of customer complaints and support. I am from England and over there we think that customer service is poor but it pales in comparison with USA. I bought my 39" Emerson LF391EM4 A tv from Walmart about 6 months ago. First I must say DO NOT BUY AN EMERSON TV!!! I might have used the tv for a total of 40 hours max. At first I thought that it was just me. The volume wouldn't work so I had to turn tv off and turn back on and it would work. I dealt with that but I went to turn my TV on and it wouldn't come on. No little red light came on, so I called the customer service number and I had to work with an idiot. He needs serial number, so I told him to hold on I had to remove the tv from the mounting bracket beings the smart people put it there.
He told me that he would give me a reference number and I could call back and I told him I have waited on the phone for 20 minutes that he could just wait for me to get that info and guess what the outcome was. I have to call their service technician and they will come fix the tv but I have to pay all labor and service call, they will pay for part. I told him to send me the part power cord and I would fix it myself. He said that they couldn't do that. The technician had to order the part. So pay $200.00 for labor and service call or just buy a different brand and not have the problems. I bought a Vizio 3 years ago and have never had a problem with it. We hardly ever turned the tv on... probably once every two or three months just to use it. Needless to say I will never buy another Emerson tv.

The TV had to warm up for 30 min before anything would work, like changing the channels or increase the sound. Our cable controller wouldn't turn the tv off, had to use the TV controller. It was just an overall pain. All our other 4 tvs work Great with our cable except for this Emerson one. Now today the TV won't come on At all! It just blinks red. I got it to come on for 1 sec then it automatically goes right off. Ohh Crap, I said, nothing like not able to relax and watch tv before falling asleep. I recently purchased an Emerson LCD 39"-40" tv from a well respected and trusted local repair shop. Because of this, the TV was used, but works just fine. The issue is that it did not have a remote. The model stated on the back is LC319EM3 and it has a "Funlink" option that allows devices connected to power on when the TV is powered on/ off etc. My problem is that I need to adjust the picture format/ orientation on the screen, and cannot do this without a remote control. The tv menu on the front does not allow you to access this function. I have programmed my cable remote to power the tv, change contract sound etc, but no way to format.
I called the company, now run by Funai, and stated my problem. I was directed to a sales associate who said I could purchase the correct true device remote. She directed to a website where I could see it, and gave me the model number also. However, after scrolling through the entire site, I found nothing that resembled what she told me. I tried contacting them again and got no help thereafter! The remote with the funlink button and the format button for remote model number NH301UD (sales rep input), does not exist!! I can't tell you how maddening it is searching and searching for this item everywhere, online and in shops and finding nothing! I'm willing to pay whatever is reasonable for a replacement remote, if it existed. This is just upsetting!

I'm grateful it was not more serious as other people issues, But i think like the 1 ad I read said it might be outlets could be bad and resetting the TV by unplugging it for 4-5 hrs might also help. I change my rating to 5 stars, because I ended up with a 39" TV when I paid for 32" on Black Friday for $98.00 and its working great as monitor which I'm not much of a TV person anyway. I registered the tvs before the 2am cut off time. I made sure to have the site to store delivery to my city. My pickup time was between 12/14/13-12/22/13. Well the Sceptre came on the 21 of Dec, so far works fine and look fine. But the RCA came on the 23 of dec and I had to return it because it did not have the PC Monitor port to hookup to the tv from my computer.
When I return it they did not have another 32" tv so I ended up with a Emerson 39". Yaay I was cool with that. Got home, hook the tv to my pc, big azzz screen, look great, I was happy. I drove 1 hour just to be told I would have to pay $40 just for them to assess it then they would charge me for labor on top. So I decided to pay to have the TV shipped back for repairs. After paying to have the box sent, I was told that might take 2 weeks to get to me the box and 4 weeks more to fix. I hang up then decided to call back immediately to get a receipt sent to me just in case. They told me I can't get a receipt. I am in the waiting process now to see how long it will really take to send the box to me. No one should have to endure such terrible service when you are spending your money.

Bought a 19 inch Emerson for $149.00, got it home and thought between My Mother and Daughter they were doing something to the TV to wipe the Channels out!! You had to Re-scan the Channels every time you go to watch TV. Found out after 3 months that the TV was not storing the Channels. Called the Company and they told me to Ship it to them at my expense or send it to the TV shop and they would pay one Year for Parts and 90 Days for Labor. I had it at that time over 90 Days so I was going to have to pay $70.00 an Hour For two hours. That would be $140.00 for a TV that I gave $149.00 for. A TV should have one Year warranty on all of it. It should be very rare that a TV ever gives you trouble of any Brand. I have a TV in the Spare Room. It looks good but doesn't work good and slow Channel turning!!! I also Bought a VHS-DVD Emerson player that I also Bought at Walmart that quit working and that is trash. Got them to replace that but I don't think it works well. We tried turning it back on but nothing.
We unplugged the cable box and TV cords from outlet and waited several minutes and plugged them back in. Tried again to turn TV on and still nothing. I contacted Emerson, and of course they told me there's nothing they can do since it's not under warranty. However, they did offer to repair it at a cost. This TV was a complete waste of money. Emerson should seriously consider doing a recall on these TVs. To anyone who might be considering purchasing an Emerson TV, don't waste your money.

I received an Emerson 40" flat panel TV for Christmas, purchased at Wal-Mart Black Friday sale. It has never had a good picture and made a lot of popping noises. Only 6 months old, now the picture has a blue film over the whole screen which will not go away. You can still see the picture through the film but it's very difficult to watch and mostly blue and yellow. I called Emerson and they offered to fix it if I sent them $110 for labor and shipped the TV to them. It seems like a TV should last more than 6 months and this company should be ashamed of themselves. I am now forced to throw away an almost new TV as the picture is impossible to watch and their warranty program is a joke. I'm sure the TV didn't even cost $200 at the Black Friday sale, so why would I spend $110 to repair it and go through the hassle of having to pack and ship it to them? - Very poor customer service. Do not buy an Emerson TV. You will regret it!!!

After reading all the complaints, I thought this info would be handy. I can only speak about the 32" unit. Do not expect any help from Emerson; you're wasting your time. The problem is the power board inside. It's an easy fix, and a board is available on eBay. I paid $59.00 and put it in myself. TV turned right on. Here are instructions: take bake off 8 screws; there are two boards inside the tan. One is a power board; take the number off and order one on eBay. It comes from California. Put the new board in EASY 6 screws and couple of plugs. Put back on and ENJOY... Note: the green board is audio. Hope this helps you instead of being out a TV. Have a nice day...

I bought an Emerson TV (LC391EM3 TV) from Wal-Mart on August 30th, 2012 and neither will warranty it after 90 days. Emerson will cover parts but labor is $110 to repair or replace this TV, plus shipping charges. Even if repaired or replaced, the 1-year warranty is only good on the original purchase... until August 30, 2013. Is it worth repairing or is it best to throw in the dumpster and never buy another Emerson? I've never experienced such a piece of junk like this before. The TV would shut down the volume to 0 and after adjusting with the remote, it would go right back down. I wish companies could be held liable for selling crap so customers don't keep getting ripped off.

Emerson LCD TV model # LC320EM1F - I got the TV at Wal-mart on Black Friday 2010, and I used the TV maybe 3 or 4 times a month. Just out of nowhere, it just stopped turning on. It makes me so angry that they haven't recalled these TV's. Does the government allow this company to still sell these junky devices in America?

It was fine up until a month ago. Then the picture went fuzzy and hasn't recovered. I tried it with a different cable outlet - still fuzzy. The TV was new in November of last year. You would think that the TV would last more than 6 months!

I bought the 40" TV on Black Friday 2012. Every now and then the TV would dim and brighten on its own up until 3 weeks ago. I went to unplug and plug the TV back up. I heard a noise. When the TV came back on, there was no sound and the picture had a purple overtone. No sound, but purple! Terrible TV. Walmart won't take it back for exchange or store credit, past 90 days. Emerson is asking for an additional $100 to fix. I don't want anything Emerson. I just want my money back now!

I bought a flat screen Emerson TV and after about four months, the sound would kick off?! I would have to turn the TV on and off several times to get the sound to come back on. Yesterday, the sound went out and I have not been able to get it to come back on at all! After reading some of these reviews, I can see it would be a fruitless effort to contact Wal-Mart or Emerson to try and resolve the issue as it seems neither of the companies cares about their customer's satisfaction and only their bottom line. I will definitely never buy an Emerson product again!

I had this product for 10 months and it continually blows fuses. Parts are covered under warranty, but I did not know I was supposed to have a specific repair man look at it. Well I had a local repair man look at it, so now the warranty is void. I think that is wrong; for one, a 10-month old TV should not have any problems. I feel like I have been sold a faulty product. I am totally dissatisfied and would not recommend Emerson to anyone.

I bought a TV for my daughter for college and it has not been six months before a line appeared on the screen for no reason. I went to return it or exchange it at Walmart. I was told that it's been more than 15 days. I have to call or email Emerson. I called and was told that I have to send the TV back to the company for a refurbished one. Say what?! I didn't buy one from the start so why wouldn't my replacement be new like I purchased. Then I was told I would have to wait for shipping labels and send the TV back through UPS and wait for my refurbished one in 2 to 4 weeks. That's a whole month process. Unsatisfactory! The policy at Walmart sucks and Emerson company policy does also. Buyer beware! Don't purchase Emerson anything from Walmart.

I had the TV about 2 weeks when the picture color and contrast cut itself in half. I was told that there was a software update that would fix this, so I spent another 25 dollars to buy a flash drive. This did nothing; this TV is the biggest piece of garbage I've ever bought. I was told I would have to pay to ship it and have it fixed.

I bought the TV from Wal-Mart on Black Friday. It went out today and now won't do anything except scroll through menus, change modes and channels, and turn on and off, all this with no input from me! I called their customer service department and was informed that if I ship it to them (my cost) and send them $150 for labor, they would pay for the parts to repair it. I'm sorry, but that comes out to about what I paid for it in the first place. You get what you pay for. Never again, Emerson (and believe me, I'll look up your subsidiaries), never again.

I bought this TV from Walmart in late January 2013 for around $200. It worked fine up until the beginning of April. It started randomly turning off by itself. It would eventually turn back on after a few hours. I contacted Emerson about it and they said since it is past the 90-day limited warranty, then they could repair it for $70, but I would have to send them the TV and it would take anywhere from 2-4 weeks to get it back. I opted out since I had already read all the negative reviews regarding the TV and further repairs. Thanks, but no thanks Emerson. I learned an expensive lesson this time - you get what you pay for and nothing more.

I purchased this TV from Walmart in 2008 - when they were still more than $600. Less than 6 months after I bought it, it died. The TV turned off, but would not power back on. I contacted the manufacturer and I was sent to a local repair shop. The repair was covered by the warranty. A few months later it happened again. Since the labor warranty expired after 6 months, I had to pay for them to fix it, but not for the parts. Shortly after this happened, for the 3rd time, it happened again. This time I sent the TV back to the manufacturer, free of charge, and they sent it back after being repaired again. Now 4 years later, it has been working fine until then but just died again the other day. And of course, after going through everything that I have for this TV, I am just crap out of luck and stuck with buying a new one. Do not ever buy an Emerson TV unless you want to throw it away!

TV is about 2 years old and it is having the same problem 1000 other customers are having. A few days ago, my TV started to turn off by itself. I would have to press the power button about 4 times before the TV would come back on. Now today it wouldn't turn on for half the day. I called Emerson and they said that there have been no recalls on these series of TV. The best that they can do since I am past the 1 year warranty is have me go to a shop 20 miles from me for a repair. They might cover the parts and I would have to cover the labor, but we all know the labor is going to be a ridiculous amount of money while the part would be 50 bucks. How can a TV that was purchased brand new only last 2 years? No abuse on the TV whatsoever - off every night, not on all day during the week and never moved from when set up. Come on, something needs to be done!

I called the toll free service number; however, they were of no assistance. I was informed the unit carries only a 90-day parts and labor warranty. I understand Walmart has purchased the right to manufacture Emerson TVs. The Walmart store refers me to the toll-free number for assistance. Needless to say, I will not purchase another Emerson TV nor will I purchase any electronic product from Walmart.

I have bought two Emerson LCD TVs from Wal-Mart and just yesterday, the second one stopped working, just like the first one did. Red light is on, but the TV will not turn on. To top it off, the HDMI was hooked up from the TV to the PS3. So whatever went wrong with the TV, it went into the HDMI cord and now the PlayStation will not play on HDMI. I even switched out the HDMI cords and nothing. I have done several things to see if it would work and still nothing. I called Emerson today and they said since my TV was a refurbished one bought from Wal-Mart (which I didn't know they sell refurbished TVs), then there is nothing they can do but charge me $110 to fix it.
I'm very upset not only being out the $220 for the TV and doing without a TV, but also that my PS3 will not play HDMI. It upsets me to know that a huge company that stands behind their name and products continue to sell items that have been returned for defective reasons over and over again. As I read on many reviews, many customers have the same complaint. The 32" LCD won't turn on. I will never buy anything Emerson again. I would give them the highest respect if they would just take care of their product issues that continue to happen and full replacement to customers.

I purchased the TV prior to moving due to the cost of the TV. Plus, it was such a great surprise to my kids that we would have a new TV. To make sure that the TV was going to be safe during the travel, I did not unpack it out of its original packing and put it in the back seat of my vehicle secured for travel. Once arrived and unpacked, I found that the TV would stay on for about an hour then automatically turn off. I thought it was the sleep timer that kicked in. I checked. It was not, so I changed cables and outlets and it continued. The most time the TV stayed on was for two hours without shutting down.
I called the cable company to see if it was the box I received since it was a new TV. The cable box ran fine; it was the TV. It appears that it gets heated up quickly and then the TV shuts down. Frustration... I called the company; since I did not have the receipt, no help or suggestions. I could not return it since we moved out of the purchase state of the TV. So I called a TV repair company. They stated that Emerson TVs are throwaway products and that the parts are just thrown together and are made to break down. Extremely disappointing. I've had the products before and had no problem. So I will call a friend to see if he can fix it; good thing he is a technician instructor. For the price, I am going to try to salvage it. I should not have to go through this, but it is how it is. Product that is not so good. Next time, I will probably get a different brand name.

We purchased 17 Emerson 22" televisions last April to use in cabins that we rent. After a few months, we had 3 of them go bad. They would not power up. We tried everything - switched power cords, check the outlets, plugged the TV into a different outlet, etc. The first three televisions Walmart exchanged for us, but then we were told they would not allow us to exchange another one. What!? Well by September, two more televisions had the same problem. We had to purchase new televisions, and they weren't even 6 months old! We were closed from November 1 to April 1. The second weekend we were open; we had another television do the same thing. Both Walmart and Emerson will not do anything about this problem! After reading all of these reviews, I can't believe that Emerson is still in business. I will never buy another item with their name on it again. If I could give them a zero star rating, I would.

You cannot put this 39" LCD TV in an entertainment cabinet because the sound comes from underneath the TV aimed toward the rear of the set. There is no out source on this TV for recording of any kind. You can play into the set with a VCR of such, but no out source. The picture was good, but I had to purchase a powered amp to add to the sound so I could hear it from my entertainment cabinet. If you want a real and full functional TV, don't buy this one. You get what you pay for here. Just a cheap TV.

My 19-year old son bought the family a 39” LCD TV as a Christmas gift that also came with a 3-year warranty. It cost him almost $400. Well, here it is, a little over 90 days and the darn thing is shot. I’m so upset with Wal-mart, who once again suckered us into buying a warranty, and for what? Nothing they can do for us. I called two different numbers and was told that it’s my fault that the TV made a popping sound and then fell over. The screen has a small scratch but it now does not get a picture. When it popped, it was my fault that I didn't bolt it to my $300 TV stand. Wow! I’m not running a hotel here. This is not my first go around with Wal-mart and their so-called warranties. But come on Emerson, how can you put the blame on a homeowner for not bolting the TV down?
