Ok so I buy a TV on Black Friday 2014 for my daughter. It supposed to come with a 1 yr warranty with Emerson. So I get the 2 yrs extended warranty so I thought... so it's been 2 yrs 4 months. The TV hasn't been being used because my daughter was still living with me and it was supposed to be for her new house and I already have TV in all my rooms in my house. So my daughter moves out 1 week ago. Hooks up TV and it just shuts right back off. I find my receipt. Call Emerson. They say their warranty is only good for a year so I called Walmart and they say their warranty will cover it to call their warranty dept so I call and start giving them the info from my receipt and come to find out the lady at the register puts the warranty on a mop not the TV.
So I go to Walmart to talk to manager and they tell me too bad there is nothing they can do... why would anyone get a warranty on a mop after a year ago mop is disgusting and should go in trash. Anyways so now I have a TV that's been used maybe a month or TV and won't turn on. Never buy a TV from Walmart or buy the warranty because they have found a way to screw people over once again. And never by Emerson. Apparently they only make their TV to last 2 yrs so you have to go buy a new one. Best Buy will now get my business for all electronics. At least everything I have bought from them has last 5 plus years.

This is a great brand of TV that has been around for years. I trust the brand itself and I have owned several Emerson products. They are well priced and last for years. The picture is excellent, easy to work and adjust colors for movies and shows. The only thing I would change is to make the edge surrounding the screen flush with the screen. That would make it easier for cleaning and make the screen look bigger.

I really love my tv. It's a 32" so it sits on a dresser perfect while I relax in my bed. Also, the picture and volume are great. I love that I can stream onto it with my chromecast. I have my sound bar and Wii connected to it. I've never had a problem with it and to me it's great and the price was a deal.

I purchased an Emerson flat screen television LF391EM4A in 2014. It replaced a decades old Mitsubishi tv. The Emerson didn't even last 3 years and was not used heavily or abused. From reading the multiple negative reviews of this brand I see it was a mistake to buy it in the first place. It would be nice if retailers went with quality over price in selecting their merchandise.

The Emerson TV was purchased because the maximum screen that would fit in my home entertainment center was 37". This set has 1080p and the picture quality is a good as Sony, LG, and Samsung, Great value, have had it since 2012 which has exceeded my expectations, just a darn good set.

It has half a screen dark and half normal. It came this way which should be a recall on this type of TV. But I have had it for 7 years now. I understand I should have taken it back, but they only give you 30 days to return electronic items, which I didn't realize when I got it.

I bought two Emerson TVs a 50" and 40". My 40 went out. I let it sit for months kept checking to see if it would come on before I gave it away. One day just started back working. My 50 is doing the same. Both TVs are plugged into surge protectors. This is a rip off. Spend all this money on a TV that has to sit for months before your kids can watch. I'm a single mom. I don't have money to keep buying TVs. I think Emerson should stand by their product and reimburse customers for their inconvenience.

I brought this tv from Walmart and it worked for about a two years then one day the picture wouldn't work and I'm out of warranty. Call Emerson. Can't help me because it's out of warranty. Called geek squad they told me that it would be cheaper to buy a new tv. Wow. I would love to have Walmart to stop selling this brand of anything they sell. I see I'm not the only one that has been bitten by emerson's service and products. We should ask Walmart to stop selling this brand. I want to start a partition against emerson products. Furthermore, I will post on social media the results of buying from your company. And I will continue posting every 24 hours. And I will contact the Better Business Bureau, will the non-results of your reaction to selling junk that has never worked and promises to call back are never fulfilled.

Emerson 50" model # LF501EM4F - I had also bought my 50" Emerson at Walmart's Black Friday Sale thinking it was a good deal for the size and description of the TV. I figured Emerson had been around for quite a while even though they were just a step up from generic brands years ago and were still hanging in there. I didn't really need a TV at the time as I had one but it was so heavy and bulky and I wanted to try a skinny, lighter one. I brought it home and stored it in a corner of my bedroom so it would be out of the way. The manufacturer warranty has expired and I didn't think anything would be wrong with it since it was still in its package and it was still "new". I set it up last night and plugged it in (an exciting moment for my kids and I to have a big new TV now). It looked great where we had it sitting... then the big moment of turning it on... NOTHING BUT A CRACKED SCREEN ON THE INSIDE!!! It was so disappointing.
Being a single mom with two teenagers money is tight and this was like a luxury item for us! Nothing had happened to the TV since I had purchased it, no drops, bumps or impact of any kind! The screen is perfect and the plastic still on around the edges, the cardboard was just removed from the front by myself last night. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it until it is turned on... It is cracked from the lower right up and colored lines and that is all it does. I guess I gave Emerson the benefit of the doubt and it makes me sick how much money I scraped up to buy the damn thing... so much for luxuries, I'll stick to practical. NEVER AGAIN AN EMERSON ANYTHING!!! And from these reviews I'm not too sure about Walmart anymore either!!

Purchased an Emerson LED TV from Walmart a year ago. No extended warranty. Last night while watching TV the TV just turned itself off and would not come back on. I switched power strips, outlets, went online and did all the troubleshooting ideas I found, unplugging it for an hour, plugging it back in so it supposedly could reset itself - nope, did not work. Unplugged it, held the power button in for 15 seconds, plugged it back in supposedly to reset itself - nope - did not work. Left it off all night long, this morning still does not work. Paid over $600 for this TV at Walmart and it's junk that lasted a year. I will never purchase another Emerson product.
Watched all these YouTube videos about Emerson quick fixes and how you can do it yourself with these power issues because TV service repair companies want to overcharge you severely for these easy repairs. This should not be something that happens for a TV you've only had a year. For that much money I would expect it to last several years. This is disgusting a such a ripoff. Bought the TV on sale at Walmart and now it's junk. I'm so upset. I do not have my receipt to add to this complaint, if I can find it I will log back in and attach it. I purchased the TV at the Walmart on Brook Road in Richmond, VA 23227. So so disgusted and cannot believe that this has happened.

We received the 50 inch LF501EM5F model as a Christmas gift about two years ago (bought on black Friday). Upon taking it out of the box, we realized that it didn't have all the hardware to assemble the stand. We really didn't care at the time because we planned on mounting it to the wall. We plugged it in, and watched half of a movie, then turned it off to go to bed. The next day we tried to resume watching the movie, but the T.V. would not turn on. We called customer service, and because we live in Canada they were not prepared to honour the warranty, also they said that our 14 days were up. After explaining the situation, they agreed to send it in to have it fixed (T.V. was gone for almost 2 weeks).
Now, we are trying to get the hardware to assemble the stand, but we are not having any luck. They are refusing to send us the bracket and screws, every representative we speak to is rude and uncooperative: putting us on hold for around 30 minutes or so, and then transferring us to someone else. All we want is the hardware that we were originally supposed to receive. I have never experienced anything like this and would not recommend this company to anyone...

They checked to see if there were any additional ones left and there was none, so the Walmart agent indicated that it was a Manufacturer defect that came that way from the manufacturer and told me to contact the manufacturer. I contacted Emerson regarding this problem and Emerson said it was the retailer. The retailer said it was the manufacturer. They both are passing the buck. My daughter and I (against my better judgement) bought flat screens at Walmart Black Friday 2014. Two weeks ago her television went blank, absolutely nothing, not even showing any power. A week later my television did the same thing. What rinky dink crap! We didn't expect them to last years, but you would think with today's technology they would last a few years. I recently got rid of a 25 year old RCA that probably had at least another 15 years left in it. I will never knowingly own nor purchase another Emerson product even if I was forced to. II'll stick to paying higher prices with a company that stands behind their products. Too bad none of this technology, as far as I know, is made in America! Talk about "Planned Obsolescence!". For now, my household is going without a television, we had already gotten rid of cable... Maybe we'll just live off the grid and not have to fret about world politics, or ** crappy foreign made televisions!

Called the Emerson company to see what they could do but the guy I spoke with said that he couldn't find my serial number for the TV. I explained to him it shows on the back that the TV was manufactured in October 2015 so it was a brand new TV. All he could tell me was to take it to get repaired. What a waste of money for the TV. We purchased an Emerson 32 inch TV on sale around Christmas time to use in a room we were remodeling. It remained in our closet in unopened box until recently. When we opened it up (note) - the box and contents were all still intact with plastic and Styrofoam. When we plugged it in, there appeared to be an 'internal' crack. Nothing on the outside was damaged, but inside looked like it was broken. Called customer service hoping to get it replaced. Was told that Emerson was not responsible for non-electronic damage. They weren't responsible for breaks or cracks. I tried to convince them that there were no 'cracks or breaks'; all damage appeared to be internal. The Styrofoam corners were still on the TV. TOO BAD. NOT THEIR PROBLEM. Will never purchase Emerson again.

I have tried everything and nothing seems to be working. I have looked at your list of repair shops and there is one within 100 miles of me. There is no support or anything for your TV's? This is a bunch of crap. I have read a lot of the reviews for your TV's and all I keep reading is you have problems with TV's and show no support or help. People buy these TV's because they are cheaper and with the way the US is right now we are looking to make our money last and get the best deals we can. A lot of us live paycheck to paycheck and when we get a good deal on a tv we hope it last for us as we are not going to be able to afford another one anytime soon. So we sure don't expect the tv that we purchased that has been used very few hours in a year and a half or so to break and the company to tell everyone "tough luck".
If you can't build a quality product that can last for several years then you should stop production and look at the hardship you are putting on people with limited amount of money that is trying to support you. I will probably throw my tv in the trash and then sell the tv stand that I had to purchase to put it on as I could not hang it on the wall. I was so happy to get a smaller tv to take up less room and clearer picture to only actually use 3 months. But I brought back my 15 year old rear projection Sony that just keeps working with no issues. I know you will never do anything to help me out but maybe you will start reading your reviews and see that you are making everyone upset with the crap you are putting out and you will lose a lot of customers and eventually you will lose everything. Consumers are where your money comes from and if you don't support and take care of them they are not going to support and take care of you.

I have an Emerson 32 inch flat screen TV. I absolutely love this TV. The picture quality is fantastic. The HD is great too. My only complaint would be that the sound quality isn't so great. I'm not sure if it's because the placement of its speakers are facing the back of the tv or not, but I would still recommend this for anyone to enjoy as much as me and my family do.

I bought a 46 Emerson TV on at Walmart on Black Friday 2013. It was very inexpensive, probably less than $200.00 which was a really great deal, especially for a guest bedroom. I knew cheap is a gamble as they're cheap for a reason. So I bought it was the lowest of expectations. It's now September 19, 2015 and the TV is still working as good as it did back when I bought it. I moved it from my guest room to my bedroom as my bedroom TV fell and broke about a year ago. So I used it regularly. It's a bulkier TV for a flat screen, but it does the job.
So when Walmart announced a 50 Emerson TV for Black Friday, I was one of the firsts in line for the TV. I had gained trust on Emerson because my TV had worked so well. So on Black Friday 2014 I bought the 50 which was very big and thin. I honestly thought the TV looked 10 times better than the 46. So I put it on my living room mostly for looks. I don't really watch TV in the living room much, but I really liked how big and thin it looked. This year, I began to have more guests at my house and my living room TV was on every weekend. We would watch Netflix and use Roku. The picture was great and so was the sound. My guests couldn't believe that this beautiful 50 TV only cost me about $250.00.
This summer, I had family over and we were watching a movie on Netflix. We turned it off to head out to eat for lunch and upon returning I was embarrassed when the TV would no longer turn on. We were in the middle of a movie when I turned it off, so we were eager to watch the rest, which is why we attempted everything to turn it on. Just a red light would blink, but it would not turn on at all. I switched it to another outlet, thinking that maybe this outlet had gone bad. Still nothing. I decided I would bring my 46 TV down and replace it, thinking that maybe my 50 needed a break or something.
Later that night, I got online and came to find out that this is normal on the Emerson TVs. They apparently break quick fast. It was a cheap TV so I was not crying over the money that I had lost. But I was just so sad because the TV looks amazing and I loved it in my living room. It just sucks that this TV really is a cheaply made TV that breaks down after so many uses. I'm not even attempting to fix it, at this point, as I figure it would probably be just as expensive to get it fix than it is to purchase a new one. My rating is in the middle only because my 3-year-old 46 Emerson TV is still working after a lot of usage, while my 50 Emerson TV broke down after about a year and a half with very little usage.

This is really ridiculous, how I haven't even had my tv done and this going to the second time I had to have my tv repaired. Haven't had time to call sooner so it's been about 3 three that my tv has been down. All I get is sound, they sold me a piece of junk. Customer support refused to give me a address or number to file a complaint. Her name was Chris, very disappointed with my tv and services. My warranty expires in November, of course they most likely will never replace my tv if this matter continues. I wouldn't recommend this product to my dog. Bought tv at Wal-Mart and within 2 months began having problems. First being that I couldn't use HDMI cord with satellite because when I turned it on I would have no sound until I unplugged HDMI and plugged back in. Had satellite company out to fix at my own cost just to find out I had to use the HDTV components because it's the tv not the satellite receiver. Now my T.V. is a huge $300+ paperweight. I turned it on with remote, saw a flash of light then nothing. Not even the red light that indicates T.V. is off. Tried unplugging and plugging back in. Tried different outlet on surge protector. Tried on new surge protector on same outlet and also on a different outlet. Nothing.
Emerson is not the cheapest brand on the market so it's not a matter of "you get what you pay for." It's a rip-off and given how many people have had same problem with suddenly not turning on I believe it's intentional. Should have a class action lawsuit for anyone who purchased their t.v.'s and have either receipt or serial number.

Purchased the 50" Emerson TV on Black Friday in 2014. Was a basement bar TV, probably used less than 50 hours and now it will not turn on. Brief backlit screen and then nothing. Sounds like the power supply issue which who knows how much labor would be to fix. The only authorized service center in Indianapolis does not answer their phone or return calls. Emerson is not going to do anything until there is enough chatter on this through online advocacy groups such as this so light them up folks. We purchased two flat screens from Walmart and started having problems from the beginning. One of the TVs would turn off and on its own. We contacted Emerson and they gave us the phone number of a local tech. He brought a replacement main board that turned out to be bad. The original main board was reinstalled and an RMA was issued. When we got the set back nothing was said about the problems the set had. The only communication was an admonishment not to get fingers on screen (the screen is glass covered). The set is as bad as when we RMA'd it. Emerson has no clue. Email or phone just a waste of time and demonstrated that they had no clue.
These TVs are used in a small church to enhance viewability in the main auditorium. One will keep turning off and on and the other blinks off and on less than the first. Walmart and Emerson are no help. DO NOT BUY ANY TV'S FROM EMERSON OR WALMART. Neither is interested in anything once they get your money. Think about it. Unless you have a lot of cash to throw away go somewhere else to buy that TV.

After the tech inspected the TV he said the parts that were sent would not fix the issue, he stated that something was wrong with the screen was bad and would need replaced but most of the time it was more cost effective to replace the TV and that this was no fault of ours. He sent a picture to them and told them that this was NO FAULT OF OURS. I gave them a week and called them back today to find out what was going to be done. When I spoke with the customer service mgr., he stated that it was noted that we damaged the TV and they would not honor their warranty. Has anyone else had these same issues? We are very upset and disappointed, this TV has been on its stand and never been hit or fallen from its stand.

I have only had this TV for 2 years. I was watching it one night and all of a sudden the screen went black and it won't turn back on. This is obviously a problem with a lot of people because there are tons of reviews online that have very similar situations to mine. I'm honestly so upset. I don't have the money to buy a new TV or get this one repaired.

I spent over $200 on the TV last January - 14 months later, 2 months off warranty - I have no sound. Several calls to repair shops, nobody can give me the price to swap out the Dolby Digital sound card, but it is probably more than buying a new TV. The tech at Walmart doesn't like the brand, he bought one and it only lasted 9 months. I guess, most Walmart stores are discontinuing the brand.

I purchased a 50" inch Emerson TVs and have had it less than 6 months. My TVs goes out and I call Emerson just to be told that I have to call a repair shop and pay $120 to have my TV fixed. I've never experience this before from any other company. I will never purchase another TV from them or made by them ever again, and I will tell everyone I know about my experience with this company. I don't think this is fair that I have to pay for a TVs I had less than six months. I would really like for someone to contact me to get this taken care of by the company. My son brought me this TV for Christmas, I set it up and within a month there was a line going across the middle then two lines and now three. My son cannot find the receipt and the store says that there is nothing they can do - send it to the company. I will never buy an Emerson anything ever again.

I bought this TV on Black Friday at Christmas and the same thing has happened to me as to others I have read; now it won't turn on. Since Walmart chooses to buy this product over and over I think they should replace or return monies for these TVs. They used to be proud of what they sold.

Need to feedback to Emerson that the earphone plugs will shut off the regular sound. There should be outputs on the back of set so that others in room can hear the sound, and those needing ear phones can listen at same time. Or input earphones and shut off external speakers. Seems like all the newer systems are totally forgetting about commonly needed hearing assist needs. Not everyone has a digital output audio system. When you shut off the external speakers, it shuts off both the external AND the earphones. Who designs this stuff?

I am so unhappy with the customer service I received from Emerson. I called them with detailed description of the issue I was having with my 3 month old television. (I had sound but no picture but it would flash for a second when turning on TV). After NO HELP from them and hours of searching the internet I decided to reset my cable box. Guess what... my TV started working. NOW WHY the service tech did not have me do that in his steps I will never know. Do not buy this TV and expect service. They did give me a service provider but I wonder how long that would have taken for me to see a service repairman. Emerson model # LF501EM5F.

I purchased a 50 inch tv during Black Friday 2014 and I wasn't able to get it until December 21 2015. Now here it is March 2015 and the tv is showing a frozen picture on one channel and I can't turn the tv or anything. It's not radiating any heat when it's on or anything. Smh. Taking it back today.

After reading other reviews, I feel fortunate that this TV has lasted this long. It is now losing sound, in and out, and has a fuzzy, snowy type thick line going through the picture. I actually used to work for Emerson Electric, and have been an avid user of their products for years. It seems, as many other familiar named companies, that they have sold out. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. SAVE YOUR MONEY. Again, after reading the other reviews, I will just trash the unit and buy a more reputable brand.

Purchased two Emerson 50-inch TVs on black Friday. Hooked one up immediately in the bedroom. Worked awesome. No issue. Just finished redoing the entire basement and installed the other 50. Mind you, this TV was never opened or removed from box. No damage to box. The TV has been in the spare bedroom waiting for its time to shine. Well yesterday was it. We plugged the TV into the wall and let it start its setup. While setting up the TV, we noticed on the left side of the screen directly next to picture frame, white light shining through. Thought maybe, possibly, interference??? We brought the known working 50 downstairs and it was fine. That being said, the TV is "damaged"? Or defective? IDK. Called Emerson immediately. They took my name, serial number, and my address. Asked me to take a picture of the TV and email it to them. I said "Sure thing."
Snapped three photos. One photo of it on. One photo of it on and a tape measure running up the face so they could have a good measurement of the defect. And a third of the TV with the original sales receipt. Sent the email. About a half hour after the email was sent, I received an email from the customer support. They said it would take two days to get back to me. No problem. This morning I wake up to another email saying they received my photos. It would take two days go let me know. Ok. TWO MINUTES LATER...... not kidding 10:46/10:48. The 10:48 am email I received stated this: "Thank you for your email to Emerson Consumer Support. We received the picture of your TV. Upon checking the warranty, it is void due to physical damage. I suggest to contact an Authorized Service Center in your area for repair."
There is no physical damage to the TV. No scratch, no dent, no crack, nothing. It appears the frame around the screen is warped allowing light to come through. Called the authorized repair. He said if the warranty is void for physical damage, he would have to charge. Ugh. Exhausted mentally. Bringing TV to target practice for skeet. NEVER BUY EMERSON.

Bought a Emerson TV 40 or 42 inch. Had it less than a year and the same thing happened to me - turned it off and it would not start again. I e-mailed the company and they got back to me with an e-mail in about 10 seconds. Then an e-mail in about 24 hours.. they had me do all kinds of things - get receipts get this tag off the back with a blow dryer. In an e-mail they told me they would send me a refund (I only had so many days or I would have to start the process all over again).
Well I finally got my refund in the mail and after the exchange it is less than what I paid... I sent another e-mail asking about the rest of the money I had paid and now it took over a week to get back to me. Just got off the phone from talking to them and twice they put me on hold for over 10 min... They tell me they do not cover the taxes - I have to go to the place were I bought the TV. Could you imagine going back and telling them bought a TV that doesn't work. The company Emerson says, "You are responsible for the taxes." They would laugh in your face. What a joke.
Well I say they should cover the taxes - I had to pay it they should too. I told the guy ** who is suppose to be the supervisor of the first guy ** that I spoke to that I want to talk to someone higher up. I do not have money to just toss away. Anyone else having trouble with their TV I would call their office to not right the way they treat people. And get this he has the nerve to tell me to have a good day... WHAT A JOKE!!!!!

We purchased a new 50 inch TV on sale at Wal-Mart on Black Friday. The TV was a Christmas gift. It sat in the box gift wrapped under a Christmas tree for nearly 30 days. After Christmas it remained in the box until we could have an installer mount it on the wall. Today, the installer arrived, and had it beautifully mounted, only to turn it on and the TV not work. Called the Wal-Mart store who said for us to contact Emerson.
Emerson said that there is only a 90 day warranty for parts and labor and refused to exchange the non-functioning TV. Instead they referred us to a service center where the labor cost is higher than the cost to buy a new TV. We had no idea that there was only a 90 day warranty and not a 1 year warranty. If we had known this fact, either we would have not purchased the TV or at least would have unpacked the TV to check on its working order prior or just after Christmas. In my book, this amount to legalized theft. Just because they can rip someone off selling them worthless electronics, doesn't make it ethical nor legal in my book.
