Diane and the people that she has in her office working are exceptional people. They give excellent customer service. They know the product. They're compassionate. They understand. They could have another brand of hearing aids, it may not be Starkey, but the customer service that they give makes the product. Since I've been wearing the hearing aids, I don't have to say, "Excuse me," or, "I couldn't hear you," as much.
We're so glad to read that you're hearing aids are making a difference already! Thank you for sharing your feedback.

I got the AI hearing aids and they’re nice. A part of it goes behind my ear and the other part goes inside the ear. It doesn't bother me and I don't have any issues with wearing the devices. It performs very well. It has an option to use a restaurant setting and it takes out the clanging noises of a restaurant, which helps to hear the conversation. The Starkey hearing aids helped me to hear the ranges that I couldn't hear anymore.
Thanks for sharing your kind words, Marie. We're glad that you're hearing better, and living better.

I really like those folks over at Starkey in Burnet, Texas. I greatly appreciate the work they did. They do good work. They were very helpful in getting the hearing aids through the VA at no cost to myself. Starkey does really good hearing checks and I've been back a time or two for follow-up hearing checks. They have to test my hearing to see if my hearing has changed. A person's hearing as they age can change over time. They've been good about keeping track of that.
We're glad that you've made your hearing healthcare a priority. We appreciate your feedback.

What Starkey had was what my insurance would pay on. My insurance started paying for some of the hearing aid costs. Those hearing aids help and I've gotten used to them. I still have a little trouble as it picks up stuff. One part of it keeps me from hearing what I want to. The batteries also quit recharging so they were sent off. You don't necessarily get the ones you bought back. If I send something off, I would like to get what I started with fixed. Either that or new ones instead of refurbished ones.
Thanks for sharing your feedback, John.

I've been with Starkey ever since I've had hearing problems. I went into a place here in Marble Falls that was Starkey, and I talked to the guy there and told him I had bad hearing problems. I said my dad did too. My dad bought hearing aids that stayed in the dresser drawer, and I told the guy, "I don't want to wear mine in the dresser drawer. I want to wear them." He said, "Well, I can fix you up." I have all the respect in the world for him. He got me started on Starkey, and then as I got to hearing better and technology improved, I got newer ones and newer ones. The reps are great. They call to check on me and to remind me of stuff. They're not like telemarketers. They're like normal people and they talk to me like normal people.
I've been struggling the last couple of years with the hearing aids I had. I had to piece together what people were saying and I needed to really look at their face to be able to have a conversation. In a room full of people, I was isolated even though I could hear everything. I went in to get my hearing aids adjusted, and the girl said, "I got something for you." She gave me these new ones. The cost is outrageous, but quality is the best of it. I can now carry on a conversation with my family and my wife. I still have problems and they still need to speak clearly, but it's like a whole new world. I'm a different person all together.
Thank you for sharing your experiences, David. We love reading that you are really receiving the benefits of wearing your hearing aids.

I hadn't been able to hear out of my right ear since 1980 and my left ear was getting worse and worse over the years. Now, I can hear well out of both ears with my Starkey hearing aids in. It's hard to tell what direction sound comes from, but I can hear it. I like the hearing aids. I was having a lot of problems with them to start with, but lately, they're doing good. I've had to send them back to the shop four times in the past two years. The battery that wouldn't last very long. Another time, the one on the right quit working. I sent them off, and they repaired them every time. The warranty took care of everything. It hadn't cost me anything.
The translation part is cool. I like the idea that it has a GPS so that I can find them. I also have the thing that you can put on your TV so that my TV goes straight to my hearing aids. I teach at a school, and if I want to, I can set a setting that it automatically goes to when I go there. When I go to church and if I want a different setting there, I can set it. It automatically does that without me making any changes. When I'm driving, I put my phone in my pocket and it goes straight to my hearing aids. It started picking up the car noise and everything got louder. It started amplifying the outside noise every time somebody would call. I called Starkey and the rep told me he could fix the problem. He asked if I had my charger with me. I didn't because I was at work and I was supposed to call him back but didn't.

I got tan hearing aids that go in my ear. They have a little wire that goes to the hearing aid and they do the job just fine. The quality is good. They're very conscientious and willing to help every time I call. I love that I can talk on the phone with them and the sound comes through my hearing aids. I'm very satisfied with them.

I have stopped using my Starkey hearing aids. I would be driving and one of them would roar and whistle. I kept going back for that and they kept taking care of it. They would get the hearing aids to work properly but the issue just kept on. They had to replace one of the hearing aids and one of the functions would not work anymore because my phone was too old. They never could get that function working and they wanted me to upgrade my phone. We got to the point where whatever plan I had paid for was running out and I did not see the value in going on with the Starkey.

I was losing the ability to hear pretty fast. I got hearing aids that I could afford and what I considered to be probably as good as any hearing aid out there. My Starkey hearing aids have features on the back that I can increase or decrease the sound. I chose the model that has a place for television, crowd, restaurant, or normal. I like the fact that they're nice and loud. When I get them turned high, I hear better. I use them frequently. I don't have any problem with hearing over the phone. The only thing is I have a problem with words. I can hear it very well but I can't distinguish exactly what they're saying. I have them on right now and I'm trying to watch a program on TV. I have a very hard time making out the words. That aside, any information that I have about Starkey is all good. I recommend it to all my friends.
Hi Wanda - Thanks for sharing your feedback. Have you connected with your hearing professional about the issues you've had hearing the TV? The hearing aids helped my husband immensely, but I was happier with the earlier ones. This last set, I'm getting a little disappointed with Starkey. They upgraded to the new technology, and we were told if we would wait, we would get the new technology, but they sent the old stuff. Now, we can't get the accessories anymore because they're discontinued. So, that's a frustration. Also, the plastic on my husband's first set broke, and this set is better, but he doesn't like turning them off by opening the door. He's afraid he's gonna break it.

I have gone in for cleanings and if I had any questions, they always help me at NewSound in Burnet. I'm pleased with them.

I wasn't satisfied with the warranty because it wasn't three months after the hearing aid went out of warranty that it went out. I had to pay for it to get fixed. After we had that one fixed, we had to pay to get the other one fixed as well. It was around $350 to get the hearing aids repaired. Other than that, we're satisfied with them. But when three of us talk at one time, my father can't comprehend that. He would say, "Now, slow it down and say that again. You're talking too loud." even though he'll turn it down on volume.

The rep from Starkey showed me different hearing aids and asked basic questions. The office people are nice. I had good experiences with them. My hearing aids are basic. I wanna change them. They got Bluetooth, but I don't like having to change the battery. It takes about once a week or sometimes sooner. It depends on how long I'm wearing it. Once I take my hearing aid off, I can hear hardly anything. So, I'm grateful to be able to hear what I'm hearing. It's just I always thought that you'd be able to hear groups wearing a hearing aid. If I'm in a group and people are talking, I can't hear the main person talking. I'm hearing other people that are around me closer. I hear the loudest noise first. Even if I'm a couple feet away and two people are talking, I still can't hear them. I adjust my hearing aids on my phone. When I do, it makes a high-pitched sound.
Thanks for sharing your feedback. It sounds like your hearing aids may need some minor adjustments. We recommend making a follow-up appointment to ensure the hearing aids are fine-tuned for your needs. My father puts his Starkey hearing aid in his ear. He can hear some better. You normally still have to repeat stuff to him at least one time as opposed to four times when he doesn't have any. The only complaint he ever has about it is after he puts his glasses on, if he doesn't do it right, the glasses will yank it out of his ear. It'll come out. He just sticks it in there. I'll watch and put it in there sometimes.
Thanks for sharing your feedback. We recommend a follow-up visit with his hearing professional to see if additional adjustments may be needed for the best hearing experience possible and to assist with the retention of the hearing aids.

My mother-in-law, Ruth, has very severe hearing loss and without her hearing aids, she hears nothing. You have to scream at the top of your lungs to get her. And even then, she doesn't seem to process. The hearing aids are adjusted up as high as they'll go but she still has difficulty understanding. It's a combination of reading lips and listening. Starkey has corrected her hearing as much as they can.
My mother-in-law has lived with us 11 and a half years. These are probably the third or fourth hearing aids that she's had. She was with another company that suddenly went out of business and sold their business to Audibel. And Audibel has been wonderful. We've been very happy with their product. They completely replaced both of the hearing aids at no charge. They're no longer warrantied, but we've had them long enough. They sent her new ones and she’s had them now for five years. She won't feel bad letting them set her up with new hearing aids at any time now. Also, Starkey keeps them clean for free. The hearing aids she's got now are good. Plus, they're rechargeable. She quilted for many years and she doesn't have feeling in her fingertips. So messing with those teeny-tiny little batteries has been a constant challenge for her. So these new rechargeable hearing aids has been great for her.

I spent a lot of money for in the ear hearing aids. At first they seem to work fine, but then I realized that the left hearing aid was not working. I returned to where I purchased them and they were very helpful and sent the aid back to Starkey. I normally waited a week for it to be returned and was reassured that it was completely new. This type of thing went on continuously for 3 years. Now there no longer is a warranty and they wanted to sell me a contract for one year to cover any problems for $500. I have decided not to deal with this company any longer. I would not purchase Starkey hearing aids nor would I recommend them due to my experience. I used one hearing aid for most of the time since this problem was a recurring one.

My sister-in-law recommended Starkey and said they were good people. I have a good bit of hearing loss, so I went to have it checked. The people that I dealt with at the office were very nice, and I don't have a bit of problem with them. However, the product is not good. The tech recommended the rechargeable ones for me, but I don't like them. The sound quality is not as good, and the batteries go dead at the most inconvenient time. For the amount of money I paid for these rechargeable ones, they're not worth it. I don't wear them half the time. They're heavy, and I get a lot of static. The tech's adjusted them several times. The first ones I had where I could change the batteries were much better.

She just told me what they're qualified for and what might and might not help me. Then we started in on the products and I liked that because she gave me a chance to ask the kind of questions that I wanted to ask about my hearing before she tried to sell me something. Also, they had some kind of little promotional sale going on and she told me about that when I decided that I was going to get the hearing aids. I've already recommended several people to her.

My mother-in-law loves her Starkey. It's the best one she's ever had, she said. She likes the reminder. It lets her know when the battery's low. They give her free hearing aid batteries occasionally when she goes in for her adjustments. They have been awesome and super nice. We walked in up there and it was a ray of sunshine really with them and it made my mother-in-law feel comfortable. When she walks in there and they have to take her hearing aid out, she can't hear a lick. So, they put her at ease before they take her hearing aid off to do the cleaning because, if she wasn't at ease, she would be hesitant about taking it off. They also get us in and out of there in no time when we go. She's very well pleased with Starkey.

We have received today a pair of Evolv AI 2000 BTE R by our local provider! Words cannot express my relief and gratitude!
Original Review: Aug. 21, 2022
My son, 8 years old today, has been using Starkey hearing aid devices since the age of 3 and has profited from them. Unfortunately, last autumn we bought a new pair Starkey Livio BTE R 2000. One of them stopped working after two months. We have sent it to the provider, they said they had it replaced, although the outer shell looked the same (same serial number inscribed on it). It stopped working again the next day.
I bought a new one from another provider, the same model and after two months again it started making noise. I have sent it to the new provider and hope it will get replaced this time. My son is really frustrated and is obliged to wear his older pair (Muse 2000). Please let me know which steps to take. I can't afford a new pair of another model which would be the ideal solution. Thank you.
We apologize for any confusion about your recent replacement. If a device fails and is exchanged, we will replace the product and reapply the existing serial number so that it is easy to keep track of your account and device history. Any exchanges will be noted in the repair or replacement dispatch. We can understand how your son may be feeling about his devices and we've shared your comments with your hearing professional. They should be in touch with you soon to determine next steps.

Starkey had a girl named Julia, and she was like a superstar. It was good dealing with her, but she's gone. They need to hunt her down and get her back ‘cause she can do anything. She’d go back there and get on the computer and reset my hearing aids. She wasn’t certified, but she knew how to do it. For two years, she got my hearing aids running a lot of times. They would quit, and she'd get them to working. She was real nice, and she stayed on top of my appointments. She would call me if I missed an appointment too.
There's a new girl now, and she's okay, but I don't know her. I went back to visit a few days ago, Monday. One of my hearing aids quit working, and I just took them in. The girl tried to fix it, but she couldn’t, so she said she's going to send them back to the factory. She said my warranty was good till September, and it was gonna take a week.

I have a high-frequency deficit. I had spent 17 and a half years in the underground coal mining industry around heavy machinery. Using no hearing protection back in that timeframe caused a high frequency loss in the 4,000 Hertz range in my left ear. I also developed tinnitus in my left ear. When I started using these hearing devices, we got them adjusted so they adjusted the sound levels in the frequency where I've got loss at. I started hearing things that I haven't heard in a long time.
For instance, a lady's voice is a higher pitch voice than a male person's voice in most cases. So there were times that my wife would be talking to me and I would tell her that I didn't hear her because parts of what she was saying was in the frequency range that my hearing deficit was in. The devices have helped with that a lot. I like the fact that whenever I get a phone call, I can hear it. It works great. I'm fully satisfied and happy with them.

I had good service. But now, they've changed their name and they wrote and told me that they don't work on Wednesdays. Because we're a small town, have several small towns around us, so they have to go from one to the other. I go in every three months and they clean the hearing aids. I wasn't impressed with the young man that I was working with. But he since has gone. Also, the office is not fully staffed. It just has the young ladies in it that will take the hearing aids when I take them out. And they will go back in another area and clean them good and put the new little white thingies in, and they come back and hand them to me. Where I came from in Ocala, Florida, they would look in my ears, they would put the hearing aids in to make sure they were in properly. Starkey never does that. They don't touch anything. I have to put the hearing aids in and take them out. And sometimes, I have a hard time getting them in properly.

Hello George -
Your hearing aids help keep you connected with your world. It's understandable that you're looking for what next steps to take. Generally speaking, your hearing professional will be able to assist you with any troubleshooting, maintenance, or adjustments that you may need, and they can also assist with sending the hearing aids out for repair (charges may apply if they are no longer under a warranty or support plan). With the age of your hearing aids and the recent technological advances that have become available in the last few years, your hearing professional may also recommend upgrading to newer hearing instruments. Unlike other manufacturers, Starkey will repair devices that are older than five years old. If you should choose to send the hearing aids in, your hearing professional should be able to add a new worry-free warranty.

The sound is still “noisy white noise” in ear, hollow sound, plugged up ear..worse than without hearing aid in. Does not improve hearing and feel as if balance is off when wearing them. Also, they constantly are either on the verge of falling out or do fall out. I already have lost one pair (on two separate occasions for each ear). I paid the insurance copay for another pair and I am having the same experience. I have told my audiologist about this and nothing has helped. I certainly don’t want to have to constantly worry all day long about whether my hearing aid is about to fall out. Many times it is just ready to fall out when I check it.
I would like a refund on these. I have now paid for two pair of these terrible hearing aids. And, I foolishly just insured the second pair, thinking that the new pair would be better. I paid $6900 for the first pair and an insurance copay of $595 to replace the ones that fell out of my ears. These hearing aids have caused me nothing but stress and loss of large amounts of money, with no hearing improvement..sound is amplified but not good sounding.

I had purchased the NuEar Circa 1200 hearing aids from a company that went out of business shorty before my factory warranty was up and when I called Starkey to see what I could do about getting them fixed. I didn’t hear anything from the company that I purchased the hearing aids from about them going out of business & they just disappeared & left everybody hanging. I called Starkey for help since they were under manufacturer’s warranty at the time still. Unfortunately for purchasers like myself, we are completely out of luck! Starkey only directed me to another one of their venders who wants to charge me for a hearing test, reprogramming both hearing aids and who knows what after if the reprogramming does not fix the problem that I am having with both of my hearing aids.
I own my own construction company and have not been able to hear my clients for about 3 months now and that’s not good for my business due to not hearing the clients when it comes to details and financial matters. Things could end up really bad for my company to say the least. (I make sure that the client and I are on the same page to prevent that from happening but it’s a whole lot of unnecessary time I spend to do that and my family is getting less of my time than they should due to having to spend that time). As a business owner, I stand by my product and service 100% to ensure my client’s satisfaction as I believe every company should be expected to do so. Starkey pushed me off onto a vender every time I called to get help from them.
My hearing aids are a year old and were still under manufacturer’s warranty 3 months ago when I started having problems with them. Since then, I have not been able to get a vender that doesn’t want to charge me for everything as if they were brand new but paid for. These are the worst hearing aids that I have ever had and the worst service from the manufacturer I have dealt with and I have been wearing hearing aids for 39 years.
I would expect the “self proclaimed” industry leading technology manufacturer to handle such a small problem with a lot more inside help rather than just pushing it onto some company that wants to charge the purchaser for service on Starkey’s products. I have the Starkey remote microphone, the hearing specialist where I got my hearing aids said it was a great device paired with the hearing aids. It is a great device, however the clip is so inferior it does not last more than 6 to 8 months before it breaks making it unable to clip to my shirt. Starkey replaced it once, now it's not under warranty and no one at Starkey can tell me how must it cost to repair. Do not buy this product unless you want to keep sending it in for repair and all the hassle of sending it in and waiting for it to break again in six months.
Hi, John,
Thank you for your feedback. Like you, many people love Remote Microphones. We manufacture a couple of remote microphones that work with our different hearing aids. Your Hearing Professional can work on your behave to give you a quote on the cost to obtain a replacement clip.

My husband bought hearing aids through B.S. Wisniewski in Greenfield Wi on 2/6/19. The first few weeks he seemed to hear fairly well. After that, it has been downhill. He seems to go regularly to Wisniewski to have check ups and have things reviewed, but the results are always the same. He has the same catch phrases he used prior to hearing aids, “I didn’t quite catch that, you are mumbling, I was distracted.” We paid $6,990.00 for these state of the art hearing aids and I have to say, “I am totally disappointed.” I truly couldn’t recommend them to anyone at this point. Instead of telling other people, I wrote to the company but heard nothing. In addition to him hearing very poorly, he has problems with the left one staying in his ear. It is always hanging out of his ear in the air.
Again, I am not complaining about B.S. Wisniewski, they have tried to give him different size plugs to fit his ear, but so far nothing has solved the problem. I have to say, I am truly disappointed that my husband's hearing isn’t much better than prior to hearing aids, I’m afraid he will lose them with them hanging out of his ear all the time. This took a serious bite out of our limited income, as we are both living on our small Social Security checks. I think we paid a very large price for something that really isn’t working for him. We have had many fights about this subject, so this has caused me a lot of grief. Thank you for listening.

This hearing aid performs better than my last one. It has better sound quality and better amplification. I find I'm able to pick up sounds that I have not been able to hear in the past. It is also able to be adjusted to the exact volume of sound coming out of my ears so the amplification is 100% accurate to my needs. This quality makes it an excellent hearing aid and is not something I have had in the past.

This might be a little long, but hope it will explain the situation and maybe come up with a solution. I got a set of Starkey Hearing Aids about 10 years ago. They were CIC and I believe analog. During the three-year warranty period, both of them were in for repair 3 or 4 times each. Then I got a set of Miracle-Ear CIC. For the 3-year warranty period, 1 was sent in for repair one time. Last year I was accepted by the VA for their hearing aid program. I received a set of Picasso CIC at the end of October 2020. At the end of December both had quit working and they were sent in for repair. When I got them back, the left is ok, but the right one would not turn on for a minute or so when closing the battery cover.
Now after a couple of weeks, after it comes on it will go off in about two minutes. If I take it out of my ear, it will turn back on in one minute. Put it in my ear, and the cycle starts over. My guess is it is body heat related. Another then that I don’t understand is the wax guards. With my old set, I was replacing them every week, With the new ones I am having to replace them almost every day. With the Miracle-Ear, I replaced them maybe twice a month.
I have never got them wet. I take them out in loud noisy environments. At night the battery covers are opened and put in a hearing aid dryer. Every time I have had my ears checked they comment on the small amount of wax I have. Have nothing against the Starkey company. Years ago, when I lived in Eden Prairie, MN, I worked for a computer company and installed a lot of equipment at Starkey. Will have the bad one sent in again, and let’s see what happens.

I’ve been wearing hearing aids since I was 35 years old. I’m now 63 so I’ve had several pairs of hearing aids. All Starkey. The Halo 2 that I have now are constantly not connecting with my phone through the Thrive app provided by Starkey. I have sent them back for repairs multiple times. And they say the problem is with my iPhone. I’ve gone from an IPhone 6S up to an iPhone X and still the same problem! My aids are still under warranty. My audiologist admitted that Starkey knows there is a problem with the Halos and IPhone connectivity. So I asked about an upgrade to the Livio (I used them for 2 weeks and they NEVER had any issues connecting with my iPhone.). I wanted to upgrade but my audiologists only offered a discount off of the full price of a pair of Livio. So I would have to pay $4000 plus tax to upgrade even though my Halos are still under warranty.
Starkey does Nothing to help their users even though they know there is an issue with their hearing aids. I use my phone to book clients, explain procedures and most of the time my aids won’t connect. Don’t buy from Starkey, their customer support is awful! They just send you back to your audiologists and they can’t help you because of Starkey’s design flaws!

a) Do you have other Apple devices in your area using the same Wi-Fi and have the same iCloud account? If you do turn the Bluetooth off on those devices. Apple has a feature call Handoff that lets other devices connect to the hearing aids.
b) If you have the hearing aids paired to another device, turn that device Bluetooth off.
- When you experience the hearing aid not being found by the Thrive app, toggle off Bluetooth for a few seconds, then back on. The majority of the time, it will get discovered by the app.
- There are times when the Thrive app will not find the hearing aid, and you will need to power cycle the hearing aid(s).
- If you make calls using Wi-Fi from home, please see if you are using the 5GHz band, not the 2.4GHz.
- Turn off ‘Control Nearby Devices’ under iOS Settings>Accessibility>Hearing Devices

Well, my story started 12yrs back when I developed sudden hearing loss in both ears. I used to use a Bernafon BTE, then promoted to Bernafon ITC. But due to their huge size, they were always a concern for me. Then I learned about Soundlens IQ 11 and purchased one (not pair) for left ear for 2400USD in 2010 from Kuwait (was working there). I was happy for a while because it was invisible, but that is it. After I came back India, my audiologist convinced me to get another for right ear, so another 2800USD in 2013 (IQ9 and more costlier than my old IQ 11). I don't why so much variation in prices. So both of them are dragged for 4/5 years.
Now new city and new audiologist. Finally there was scam from Starkey that INR 3,00,000 (3975USD) hearing aid selling for INR 50,000(~665USD). And my audiologist just sat on throat to purchase new one. She'll advertise like super cheap, better hearing quality and blah blah blah. My old Starkey hearing aid were getting worn out, so thought to upgrade them and purchased a pair.
First problem is that susceptible Model number. I was using Soundlens IQ 11 and IQ 9, now this is Soundlens Synergy 2400, note IQ is missing. So that made more confusion whether Starkey is selling cheap product under a different Model number. And believe me till today my audiologist wouldn't explain where is IQ model, all she'll say IQ is obsolete model, Synergy is new model. If it is obsolete why IQ is still displayed on Starkey website? Moving on, the day I received these new hearing aids, I could feel there is a lot of amplification, but voice quality is compromised. Then she told me another theory that it will take time to adjust. Making simple phone calls were so impossible using those hearing aids. So paid a huge amount, got brand new hearing aid and all you got is disappointment.
I refused to accept the hearing aid as those were unusable during office hours, so we did 3 times back and forth from Starkey to my audiologist. Mind it new ones!!! And finally we called Starkey folk to the place where I bought, but he is of no use. Since Starkey employee itself gave up, all I had option to buy it forcefully. I was lucky that I had not paid the full amount. Just for sake of the audiologist and her genuine trying to fix it, I decided to buy only one and refused to buy the other one. That went on another drama where she forced me that customized hearing aids cannot be returned, which is another lie. I learned from another audiologist that all hearing aids comes money back warranty for 10/15 days. So after a series of heated argument, she asked me to pay INR 7,000 for shelling and return it.
Unfortunately, my old IQ 9 gave up after a week and had to purchase the one I had returned. She lied to me again, and charged 7K for return + 50K for hearing aid + 7K for shelling), so literally I purchased the same hearing aid that I returned with additional 7K. After spending so much, these Starkey Synergy 2400 would always need a repair in every 6 months now. They would just shut off without any reason at any fine day. I remember that horrible day when I was returning from another country, both of the hearing aids were just dead in the same morning and I had a flight to catch. I just did an oversea travel without any hearing aid with immigrations and check-ins to be done :(.
Now I get a very common reason that "humidity" is the real culprit and dumped me a dehumidifier for hearing aids for few grands again. Note I never had humidity problem in IQ 11 and IQ 9 hearing aid. To summarize, after spending nearly 8000USD (so far) with Starkey, I am using my 2nd hearing aid which is 10 yrs old and that costed my around 300USD. So take away from my story and for Starkey is:
1. Hearing aids are not fashions, they are costly and dependable devices. Please stop selling cheap products with huge discounts for sake looting people.2. There are a huge number of model numbers in Starkey, stop confusing customers and your selling partners.
3. Do a quality check for your selling vendors.
4. My new hearing aids have gone at least 3 times repair within 2 yrs of purchase. Repair it properly, don't just wait for hearing aids to go out warranty and charge a huge amount to customers after that.
5. While making an IIC product, didn’t you know that humidity could be a problem and place right parts for them? Starkey Synergy 2400 IS “NOT AT ALL” WEATHER FRIENDLY, STOP MANUFACTURING THEM IN INDIA.

I’ve had Starkey hearing aids for about 7 or 8 years and they’re great. I upgraded to the Livio aids about three years ago, which was a worthwhile change. I tend not to use all of the various adjustments that are available, limiting them to a regular setting, a setting I call “restaurant” which is for noisy environments, and a setting I call “car” to deal with feedback when I’m in the enclosed space of my car (it is set to go on automatically when I’m moving faster than 10 mph, so I don’t have to adjust anything when I’m in my car). I have not noticed any problems with my hearing aids, but I’ll see my hearing provider next week for a hearing checkup and may upgrade if the hearing provider thinks the newer aids may be even better than my current Starkey Livio.
When I purchased my current hearing aids, I experimented with the AI model, but decided they weren’t useful for me because I do a fair amount of exercise and perspire enough that the perspiration always kills the batteries. Accordingly, I would not get any accurate reading of my exercise level since the batteries would die just shortly into my exercise sessions. If I were to pick my biggest complaint about the hearing aids (which may be true of all hearing aids), it’s that I can’t use them while I exercise because the perspiration gets to the batteries and they stop functioning. I, therefore, unfortunately, don’t use them in my group exercise classes (all, of course, on hold during the Covid-19 lockdowns).
I would like to use my hearing aids to better hear the TV I have in my home exercise room, but the perspiration always causes the batteries to stop working in the middle of a workout. I don’t know if rechargeable hearing aids will be better or worse for exercise. My main concern is that the perspiration will destroy the hearing aids. Anyway, I think Starkey makes a terrific hearing aid, but would prefer one that wasn’t quickly affected by perspiration.

I have owned these aids for 4 years. From the very beginning I had issues with them, every time I answered my cell phone the aids would cut off making it very difficult to hear with my only good ear partly because the hearing aid was in my ear and second it would make sounds like it was trying to connect. For 2 years I tried to get STARKEY to correct this issue their response was there was nothing wrong with the aids, and that they had never heard of the issue I was having.
After 2 years they finally admitted that there was an issue with my aids and replaced one. This did not fix the issue it was still the same. They the tried to fix both of them but on return nothing had changed. They still had the same problem. This was extremely frustrating, first because I use the phone to talk with my clients, second because in order for me to talk on the phone I had to take the aid out of my ear so at least I could hear something all while driving. To this day I still do this at no time where the aids corrected it took them two years of complaining before they even recognized there might be a problem. I was finally told that it was my iPhone and there was nothing more they could do. I paid big dollars as you know for aids that have NEVER worked as they should.

We appreciate you sharing your experience with us and thank you for bringing this situation to our attention. We’re sorry to hear about your frustrations and we will use your feedback to improve our products and service.
I wanted to share some thoughts that may help with your connectivity issues. a) You can do a simple test to figure out if the root cause is your phone by unpairing the hearing aids from your phone and pair it to another iPhone in your household. Then, test the results of the new connection. b) The other option is to change the microphone setting for streaming to mute. c) You can also create a new memory and use it as your streaming memory and not the default. d) Lastly, you can remove the TruLink App and test the hearing aids.
We acknowledge that none of these suggestions will erase the past. In the future, we welcome you to contact mobile support to see if we can help with connectivity issues you may have, so please contact us at 1-800-721-3573 or mobile_support@starkey.com.

If your hearing professional wasn’t offering this service, we are happy to help find a professional in your area that will be up to the challenge to make sure you are hearing your best.
A hearing aid is one of the few consumer devices that works 16-hour days every day in all kinds of weather. Moisture is hard on zinc-air batteries. There are some accessories that help dry out hearing aids at the end of the day, such as dry-aid kits – did your audiologist offer one to you? The best way to reduce the number of issues related to sweating is by using dry-aid kits and cleaning the batteries.
Please take care and be well.

Starkey Hearing Aids were my third set of aids and an upgrade to what I originally purchased several years before. Looking back, it is disappointing to me that I have never even met the audiologist at the clinic where I purchased my Starkey aids. A tech did the testing, fitting, and troubleshooting. While the tech was very congenial and making every attempt to improve the performance of my aids and phone app, the hearing aids have never come close to meeting my needs. The one aspect that has been effective is phone use, but even one on one conversation continues to be challenging and I am isolated in small group gatherings.
It is also disappointing that there is not more support available online. An audiologist outside of Houston has been very helpful and returned my aids to the production site on two occasions for revamping. Some improvement was noted, but it was not significant enough to improve communication. Something that has been frustrating, is that the app that is accessed on my Iphone, periodically changes without notice making it less than user friendly. I am currently considering reinvesting in new aids that provide a trial period before making a final purchase - something Starkey did not provide at the time of my original purchase.

My mom who is 85 applied for your hearing aid program. She was denied as not qualifying due to income. Her income was way below the requirements; however, I sent her money for the Starkey Foundation Application fee and they count that as income. They counted her selling off her clothes as income on eBay even though she is selling at a loss just to eat. She was diagnosed with cancer and wanted just to hear in her final years. What a disgrace. I am disabled and wish I could find her and pay for hearing aids from a company that truly cares. This company does not. I posted my message on Facebook and they never responded. In fact, they hid the comments and then removed my ability to post on facebook. A company like this is not one that people should want to do business with. The Foundation is part of the company.
Dear Mr. Cohen,
We can understand your disappointment with the decision not to provide your mother with hearing aids at no charge. The Hear Now Foundation is a wonderful organization that is flooded with requests from all over the country. If you feel your mother’s evaluation was not fair, we encourage you to discuss it with a representative so you can have a clear understanding of their definition of financial qualification. In the meantime, there are some other options to consider that may help fund this need such as: The Lion’s Club, places of worship, and the Sertoma Club. Have had my Audibel hearing aids now for about 5 years. The first provider gave poor service and never schooled me on care of the products nor how it worked. Never could get them adjusted correctly. Since I moved, found a new audiologist who has the computer program to adjust my hearing aids and provides better service and instruction. But each visit is a cost. Still the hearing aids are only good in direct conversation with one or two people. Background noise in a crowd or at a family gathering drowns out conversation. I still have to use a family member as interpreter. At home I have to take the hearing aids out to listen to tv. Sound is very distorted with them on. Have another appt with audiologist soon, but don't expect much. May have to find another brand of aid. These I have cost me $7200, and I feel they never met my expectations and were a poor investment.

I have been using my Starkey hearing aids for a month now and I feel that I should have gotten them earlier. I didn't realize how much speech I was missing until I started wearing these hearing aids. My previous hearing aids did not help me as much. These help me hear speech much clearer and are reducing background noise as well. I was afraid that these hearing aids would have the same issues and would be uncomfortable to wear, but I have to say I forget sometimes that I'm wearing them. That's how natural they feel and sound. And they cannot be seen by others. I recommend these hearing aids because they feel very natural, are not visible to others and they are rechargeable unlike my previous hearing aids. Big thanks to Earaid hearing centre.

When I first got my hearing aids in July of 2018 the right aid felt like it was touching my ear drum. The 'salesman' filed it with an emery board and ruined the casing. Can you imagine--an emery board meant for finger nails? Scratched it up the side exposing the 'air tube.' It was sharp and scratched my ear canal. He twice filed some more making it too short to stay in my ear. Said he'd send it in. In 3 weeks I got a soft, rubbery ear piece that's horrible. There's a constant whoosing sound. I put it in only when I have my grandchildren and the battery last from 1 to 3 days. The left aide has a chip. He filed that too.
It still has a sharp edge. Nothing has helped me ear with any satisfaction. The right aide only amplifies sound, I need to use a hearing device to hear TV. I cannot afford another dollar for different hearing aides. I'm totally dissatisfied with these and wish there was something-anything to get a full refund as these were awful from day 1. I know that's not going to happen but I would NEVER give Starkey a positive review.

My second were great for four years then corrosion. Replaced by Starkey Muse IQ 1200 which I had my ears cleaned and checked. No wax. Did the test on my ears. Had them adjusted to suit the graphs. One would think this was perfect. Not so. My adjustments went on and on. So I then made a appointment at another Starkey service to see how great these hearing aids were. To my surprise they were as good as anyone could adjust to perfect. My conclusion is that Starkey does not suit all. My other aids were much clearer with no muffle or distortion.

I was so excited to get my new Starkey hearing aids that would transmit my mobile phone calls directly to my hearing aids, and that I could adjust to my surroundings easily with my mobile phone app. A little over a year later, they are a daily nuisance. Only the right hearing aid picks up the phone sound, I have to do a hard shut down on my phone to restore the setting. When I want to adjust to accommodate different settings (normal/crowd/car, etc) my phone app can't find my left hearing aid until I do a hard shut down then restart. This is a daily annoyance! I have deleted and reinstalled the app several times. My audiologist sent the hearing aids back to the factory for readjustment or whatever they claim to do, and I received them yesterday. Today, I am exactly where I was before. Think long and hard before you shell out thousands of dollars for this brand.

These hearing aids were chosen for me by the specialist at The Hearing Center in Rogers, AR. My hearing problem is not so much with volume but with clarity. Before hearing tests, I was missing too much of the conversations at family gatherings and the movies, and hearing weird things on my favorite TV shows. Shortly after I started wearing them, I realized how many sounds I forgot belonged to certain activities. Like the sound of water filling a glass and chicken or fish frying.
What really capped it for me was watching a movie for the second time (with hearing aids) and realizing how much of the dialogue I had missed the first time, especially how one character had responded to a sound which I hadn't heard. That explained a part of the story, which had earlier confused me. When I was in the supermarket, I was startled when the refrigeration in the frozen food aisle turned on. Also I was very pleased that I could turn to the app on my cell phone and change the setting to block out the screams of some misbehaving children. In a crowded restaurant that app enabled me to participate fully in the conversation with four of my family members. (I gave this product only four stars, because wearing the hearing aids is still not second nature to me and sometimes becomes bothersome to the skin of my ears. When that changes, I will change that rating.) A great investment toward being all that I am.

I may test this device before buying, but after only 2days of use I am convinced that I will buy!

I am using an Samsung S8. It connects easily to the Starkey, but playing music through bluetooth is not possible, unless I buy an extra microphone. Seems not that handy carrying an extra item just to listen to music when moving around. An android app that allows you to play music without extras is something we need. I've been using them for six months. I'm delighted to hear conversations clearly, stream music from my Android phone into my ears, and stream movie sound tracks directly into my ears in stereo. One quibble (I'll have to make an appt with my audiologist to see if it can be resolved, since I find nothing online or in the manual to help): This type of hearing aid perches atop my ear. A short length of clear plastic (perhaps called the "retention lock"?) goes from it into what I think is called the "concha" of the external ear.
I take my glasses off and put them on again many times per day, always careful to make sure the hearing aids are in place. But recently, I keep finding the left hearing aid dangling from my ear! I worry that it might fall out, unnoticed, onto the street, into the garden, into a toilet... Perhaps the cable (which connects the aid to the receiver) is the problem--it's bent sharply where it touches the external auditory canal. Or has the plastic retention lock has become deformed a bit? I hope to get an appt this week and perhaps this problem will be resolved. So there are three parts to this review. 1) I love my hearing aids; 2) one keeps trying to fall out; and 3) be sure to find an experienced and caring audiologist who will answer all your questions.
Hi Sharon, Thank you for taking the time to give us your valuable feedback and positive review! We are proud to you are wearing and enjoying your Starkey Hearing Aids! You are on the right track by working with your audiologist to adjust the tube length and retention lock.

I replaced my Starkey Halo IQ i2400 with new Starkey Livio 2400. I’m experiencing some feedback when I bring my hand next to my ear or when resting my head on a pillow can this be corrected? Also your iPhone controls do not have as many features as the Halo IQ i2400 had, why?
Feedback can be hard to troubleshoot. Feedback is caused by sounds that leave your ear and find their way back into the microphone. From there, the sound is re-amplified which causes that annoying whistle. There are a couple of ways to solve this without seeing your Audiologist. However, if you wish to have a solution moving forward you will need to address it with your Hearing Health Professional. The easiest way to address feedback is to lower the volume. Another alternative is to create a customize memory with lower high frequencies. I recommend doing the customize memory using the Thrive Hearing Control for memory while using pillows.
Your Audiologist might look at occluding the ear coupling or adding a custom earmold. They can also look at the memory for napping and lowering high-frequencies.
I’m not sure why you would see fewer controls for your Livio 2400 then you had with your Halo iQ i2400. I’m going to take a guess and say you are looking at the Native Controls and you have ‘adjust independently’ is turned off. If this is the case, you would have the memories combined for the right and left sides. If you wish to turn that back on, navigate to the Setting icon on your iPhone>Accessibility>Hearing Devices. Tap on connected and toggle on that setting.
Please let us know if this information has been helpful, and if I was right in my assumption.

They always tell me moisture issues. I thought I was buying moisture resistance. I can background noise very well but not person in front of me. I own multiple Starkey models, planning on switching soon. Profound hearing loss.
The Wi i110 and the Muse product are great hearing devices. They are moisture-proof, not waterproof. The IP rating is one of the best in the industry, but I know this is of little comfort if you are experiencing problems. Your description of the problems leads me to believe there are two things occurring. The wax filter called Hear Clear needs to be replaced more frequently. The other issue with being able to hear the person across the table, but the background noise is manageable, is directly related to the programming of the devices. Your Hearing Health Professional can adjust the compression to a more linear version in one of your memories to help with your understanding. This is an oversimplification of the solution. We do not know your hearing loss and we are making some assumptions. It is important that your hearing devices are serviced by your Hearing Professional every 3 months in cases where moisture and debris is an issue. Please consult with your Audiologist and we do have staff ready to assist your Audiologist with any programming questions.

I've been in this business for 35 years, and I've always loved Starkey. They're innovative. I have a lot of connections with them, and they will always bend over backwards to help you do the best fit. And if your hearing aid is just barely out of warranty and something goes wrong with it, a lot of times, they'll do a courtesy repair, and other companies don't do that. I'm an audiologist, so I fit hearing aids, and I recommend Starkey to my patients all the time. They are a leader in the industry. And right now, with the Livio product and with the AI intelligence, they are moving forward into the 21st century.
Mr. Austin has always had a vision, and he came out with the first CIC, and that was a major boom to our industry because everybody wants the hearing aids not to show. And with this artificial intelligence that he's doing in making it healthable besides just helping you with your hearing is a big, big thing for the industry. He goes all over the world fitting people who can't afford hearing aids, and a little bit of every hearing aid that he sold goes to promote that program, and I have participated in that. It is just a wonderful thing to be able to give people the gift of hearing. They couldn't afford it and wouldn't have it any other way. He runs a program that if you can't afford the hearing aid, if you meet the qualifications, you fill out the application, and you get brand new hearing aids for $125 each. So for $250, you can get top-line technology if you qualify for this program, and lots of companies do that.
Their newest product have helped in making speech more intelligible particularly in background noise and have been rated very high in those situations. So I like that feature and how they help the person hear better. I have good relationships with all of my representatives. They're very helpful, and they'll bend over backwards and go that extra mile for you. They're a great company.
Thank you, Beverly! We are so happy you chose Starkey!

It has also been challenging at times this year for receiving hearing aids due to our terms of agreement not being agreed upon. I Purchased my halo 2 Starkey hearing aids 2 years ago And have yet to see any improvement in my hearing in spite of my $5000 investment. I was told they would improve my hearing. I have been back to have them adjusted several times and have yet to get them so that they help me understand speech both in person and on the television. I can hear all kinds of background noises as in the air conditioner running or the dishwasher running very loudly but I cannot understand human speech the number one reason that I purchased Hearing Aids.
When I turn them up hoping that will help it just seems to make everyone sound like they have an annoying lisp. And I still have to ask people to repeat themselves. It is very frustrating and I avoid social situations because of it. For the five thousand dollars that I spent the only positive thing that I can say is that I no longer speak as loudly as I used to. They’ve also had to be sent out twice in the last two years for repairs and my warranty is about to expire. I still can’t watch television with my wife. I can’t watch television if anyone else is home because I play it too loudly and I can’t go anywhere and communicate where there is a group of people. I would like to try another set of hearing aids of a different brand but I don’t wanna be disappointed again and waste another 5000 dollars.
Hi, I am really sorry that someone told you that if you buy Halo devices you would hear like you heard when you were sixteen years old. They did you a disservice if that was the case. I don’t know your hearing loss; however, I’m going to guess that the Halo hearing devices were not your first set of hearing aids. Better hearing is a journey, and it requires a good hearing professional. The majority of professionals I know would have welcome the challenge of getting you to hear better, not perfect. Halo devices are extremely flexible when it comes to programming options. You also have an app that gives you total control over your environment by letting you create customize memories. All of these factors should help improve your hearing, not correct it. Please continue to consult with your Hearing Health Professional. They are your best hope to understanding your hearing loss.

My hearing aids were issued to me by the VA. They worked for about two weeks on then one of them stopped working completely. Out of frustration, I put them away and did not wear them for the past three or four years. However, I have begun a new job and my hearing is very important. I sent them to the Denver Center for repair as instructed by the VA. They, in turn, sent them back to my area to be repaired. After about two weeks they were returned to me. Again, they worked for a few minutes and one of them stopped working. Now the second one has stopped working. It's as if they are "dead." There is NO indication that there is any hope of them ever working properly. I am preparing again to return them to the Denver VA Center. I'm due for a replacement pair and I hope they will replace them with another brand that actually works. Do NOT waste your money on Starkey products.
It could be wax. The Professionals at the VA are very accommodating and would be happy to work with you to see what is causing your frustration. Let’s investigate the reasons behind the problem, and not just place them in the draw for another 4-years. By the way. The VA should have provided you with hearing aids at no charge.

I later called a location I found on the internet. I asked if they could service my hearing aids, and honor the Starkey 3yr warranty. They said they could do neither, for fear of having to be responsible for replacement if needed. Wow! The company I purchased the aids from went out of business. Good Luck.
Hi, I apologize for the experience with the ENT office. Can you help us understand why you can’t refer to the office that you purchase the rechargeable devices? I would think they would know you best and be able to provide you with the services you paid them for when you purchase the devices, at no charge. Not all independent businesses are created equally. I got hearing aids Jan 2017. They constantly do not turn on or stop amplifying. I have had them fixed under warranty about 10x now. Every time they come back with 'components replaced' and then work for a while. Most recently that was less than 2 weeks until they suddenly stopped working again. Warranty is soon expiring and I feel that I paid $5000 for something that is very unreliable and leaves me without hearing aids often. Starkey should not sell hearing aids if they cannot produce better ones. They ought to extend the warranty until I get 36 months of functional hearing aids, but that is not how it works. I am very disappointed with the quality and service of Starkey.
Hey there, you sound very upset about the length of warranty and the number of repairs. Debris is the foe of hearing aid microphones and receivers. If you feel you deserve an extension to the warrant, please communicate this to your Hearing Health Professional. We are not unreasonable if the request makes sense.

Updated on 11/16/2019: Indeed, I expected more due to what the Audiologist told me about them. I am at the "annoyance level" with the TV streamer because it cuts off if I go to the next room; the range is actually +/- 15 feet. What made my Starkey experience better was the "Remote Microphone". I can now use it as a directional mike in a group setting, and I can hear sermons better. Whatever the underlying problem may be, be it with an overzealous sales agent, the understanding of my audiologist, or my dumbness, I hear better, and function better with the new Starkeys than I did with my Phonak. The issue with the limited range of the TV streamer, and the fact that I had to get another device to solve the issues are the reasons that I could not give it a 5 star rating, and the quality of the units prevent me from giving a 3 star rating.
Original Review: I am a vet, and I got my Livios from the Canadaguia NY VA. The audiologist said that these were the latest in technology, and that the THRIVE app would be great. It was mediocre, at best. I could not hear using the TV streaming device properly, so I had to take it back to the VA. For a while, the pairing lasted a long time, and now, regardless of where I am in my home even sitting in front, watching Netflix, it cuts out about 45 minutes of use. If I am listening to music and doing house cleaning, etc on the second floor, I have to go downstairs, and reset the darn thing. I contacted their service department, and the guy I spoke to said, "I never heard of that happening." and advised me to go back to the VA and return it to Starkey. I will.
HOWEVER the most annoying thing is the fact that the device ONLY pairs with Apple's I phones, and not Android phones. And of course, it is not mentioned in the booklet for Thrive, or the hearing aid. THAT IS A MAJOR OMISSION, and perhaps it may be considered lying or deception because the sales reps "accidentally forget" to state that to the prescribing Audiologists. Far from being the "newest technology" such as was told to me (probably repeated from what the sales rep stated to the Audiologist), I found the technology severely lacking in both the Thrive app, and in the fact that I could not pair my Samsung mobile phone to it.
My pet peeve was that I had a very nasty phone call from someone unpleasant. This person was out of control, and yelling. Because I needed to use the speaker function to hear properly, that unpleasant person shared her dysfunction with everyone else in the room. It was quite embarrassing. And to think it was caused because the software engineers did not include anything with which to pair an Android phone. Far from being "state of the art" I found the experience no better than my 5 years-old Phonak hearing aids.
I’m sorry for your frustration. The TV Streamer isn’t designed to stream through the entire home. You can pair your Livio devices to the Bluetooth of some Android phones and use the Thrive Hearing Control as a remote control. If you have the latest firmware, and a Google Pixel 3 or 4 phones, you can even stream phone calls. I believe this is a case of high expectations. If you wish to stream music everywhere you go while clearing, then stream from the phone. If you don’t have a phone that can stream, get one of the accessories for the phone. If you wish to stream music from the TV without interruption, make sure your phone isn’t connected to the hearing devices. Just toggle off the Bluetooth. I would hope you are hearing better than later.

Updated on 09/05/2019: It's now 9/5/19 and I just received my repaired unit. No replacement this time. Starkey says the microphones were replaced. That means the mics lasted little more than 3 months. WARRANTY NOT EXTENDED despite this being the 3rd unit in 26 months. This hearing aid does not live in a hostile environment, 90 percent of the time it's in a temp/humidity controlled residence. Volume is usually set to low. Very disappointing experience overall.
Original Review: Purchased a Z I30 in 7/17. Unit was troublesome from month 1, finally totally failed in 3/19. Provider Hearing Care Solutions provided a replacement under warranty in 4/19. That unit has now failed within 3 months with the same symptoms as the original unit and has been sent in for another replacement. Replacement units do extend the original 36 month warranty BUT SHOULD since these units have a failure rate off the charts. Have had hearing loss for 20 years and this is my third set of aids in that time span. Never had less than 5 years of trouble free use with previous purchases. Can't even get 2 years from the Starkey.
Hi, you sound upset about the warranty not being extended. Can you let us know if this was a request that the Audiologist asked of the Customer Service Rep? Hearing Devices are unique products. In the 6 months that I've had these aids the only problem I encountered was when I took them off the charger for 4 weeks, per the instructions. When I returned, one aid would not charge. Many of the problems I read about are most likely the result of faulty calibration by the audiologist. Any hearing aid is only as good as the person setting the tonal frequencies and patterns. This may require several visits. But when it's right, it's good.

We also purchased a new iPhone for his hearing aids to work with since it was cheaper and had more features than the app would for his android phone. I have watched him try to adjust his hearing aids as they cut out, turn off, crackle and cause feedback. As we stood in front of the microwave he had no clue the timer on the microwave was sounding. About 6 months later, one of my husband’s quit working, & it was returned to the Starkey factory for repair. Starkey would not return it, saying that was the one they sent a replacement for. It absolutely was NOT! What a mess we had. Our retailer agreed, saying Starkey had a record of issuing us 6 serial numbers initially. They also made some errors, but said Starkey refused to listen or make it right. The vendor's solution was to give my husband a pair of Signia demos. Wow! How can we trust Starkey again? I purchased Starkey In Canal Hearing Aids from an ENT in Lake Mary, Florida. I selected them because I have rather small ear canals and Starkey molds their products for a nice fit. The pair worked great for about a month or so. Then I accidentally got one wet and it had to be repaired (this is when I learned that I had to spend $30 to have quick return). It came back and worked fine for about another month or so. Then the problems began. First, the sound fluctuated. I returned to the ENT and adjustments were made. A few weeks later, the left hearing aid lost volume and it was sent for repair. This repair lasted about a month or so and back it went for more repairs.
After several more repairs, I realized that it seemed that my hearing was getting worse so I took the pair back to the ENT's office for a volume adjustment. After testing them, the audiologist discovered that NEITHER were working!!! Having been through all the problems and repairs with me, she decided not to return mine but rather to request a new pair from Starkey since she realized that mine were nonfunctioning. So, excitedly, I waited for the new pair. I got them about a month ago and they worked great. However, last night the left one stopped working. Unfortunately, I am going to be stuck with this product until I find one that I can deal with.
As far as I am concerned, Starkey should change their company name to "Sanitation" Hearing Aids since they manufacture TRASH. Having now had 2 pairs of Starkey hearing aids, I fully understand why Starkey gives you 45 days to try them since 45 days is about all they work until they need repairs! So, I spent $3,600 for a pair of Starkey hearing aids and I feel I would have gotten more for my money had I flushed it down the toilet!

I have one hearing aid. I have hearing loss in my right ear but I also have tinnitus. I went to a leading provider in Memphis, Tennessee. I wanted the best possible experience and a way to minimize the tinnitus effect. So they steered me towards NuEar. I asked several times if they had hearing aids with apps. Yes they did and I could upgrade my NuEar later. They spent a large amount of time to tuning and white noise features. I bought insurance for loss. Cost just over $3000 for one hearing aid. No resolution on upgrade. Over two years later and still working great. Nearest provider since I moved is over 100 miles away. Tried to get service in Phoenix and no returned calls. Starkey, need your help.

I wear Starkey in-ear hearing aids. The pull tag on 1 of my hearing aids broke and it was sent to Starkey for repair. The cost was $329. The replacement part could not have cost more than $1. I’m willing to pay a fair price but this price gouging. Tom **

In India the all premium hearing aids costs INR 5-7L for a pair but Starkey gives it at 1.3L rupees. Quality is not bad and it comes with 4 years warranty. My 4 years experience with them is good as in 7 working days the products gets repaired without hassles. Presently using Halo iQ 2400 RIC. Currently it’s best product at that price and good services. I am using hearing aids from 1992 to days for both ears. This product has given great results.
Hi Radhakrishna, We are incredibly grateful that you took the time to leave us this note!

I have a pair of Starkey Livio 2400 hearing aids. I was fitted for them at their Eden Prairie, MN facility about 5 months ago. I'd like to summarize my experience with them in case it helps anyone. About me: 60 years old. Tinnitus in addition to my hearing loss. Tired of not being able to follow conversations. I am audiophile who also records music. We are in a new house and just built a fully outfitted recording studio in our basement, and last year put in a high end, whole-house (and patio) sound system. New media room has reference level 7.2 system. Sound quality is -extremely- important to me. Also, my wife has a voice which is on the quiet side.
Pros: The most natural sound I have ever heard in a hearing aid. Selectable modes to screen out background noise, a forward biased mode for restaurant conversation and more. If the devices detect that you are moving faster than 10 MPH it can go into an automobile mode. IPhone connection... I hear my 'Waze' map giving me directions while driving. I can listen to podcasts, music, or take a phone call and only I can hear the audio.
Thrive App. Some of the most ingenious programming code has gone into this app. For example, the hearing aids can actually translate foreign languages and play the translations in my ears! They have "Fitbit" physical health information available, the number of steps I have taken for example. And also 'mental' health info such as a verbal engagement score. Cons: Batteries cost $ and only last a week. They are spendy hearing aids. But like my wife said, if I could hear her and others better, and with high sound quality, they are worth every penny. I have to say that I am still sometimes amazed when I am wearing these. Makes me feel like a new man.
Hi Dave, We are happy to hear that you are pleased with your hearing aids and thank you for the wonderful review!

It took me 2 YEARS and 3 DIFFERENT audiologists to get Starkey to make a shallow set of their SoundLens aids. My first Right-side aid was accidentally made as a Left side instead of an opposite hand mirror to the Left - it hurt like being stabbed in the inner ear when first inserted. I was a 34 year old man and nearly cried in the doctor’s office from the pain. When I pointed this out to my doctor, she said I don't know what I’m talking about and had it remade SMALLER.
At no point did any of these trained professionals stop to see that the Right aid was made a Left. It took me 3 remakes (once every 2 weeks with shipping) for them to admit the mistake and remake. 50 such episodes followed (At one doctor, when I explained that one of the aid's speakers was snapping like a speaker turning on every few minutes, I was told I was imagining it).
I was Yes'd to death as if this organization understood my impossibly simple request, that the aids are deeper in the canal (smaller) so as not to cause excruciating pain against my tragus. So called special-visit staff met with me to spin the usual nonsense, "is that really what happened? we promise we understand this time". Their notes never made it to the guy in the lab making $10 an hour making shells. No one in the universe would believe how many times in a row this happened - I wouldn't believe my own memory if I didn't have a trail of emails and pictures. Instead, with 90% of the remakes, after agreeing in writing that they understand the amazingly simple request, they made the aids slimmer. Causing feedback and improper fit.
When I finally got one well fitting Left aid and one loose fitting Right aid I decided to coat with polish myself, I purchased my own programmer in order to not suffer the asinine process of booking an appointment to slightly tune the aids. What followed was both of the hearing aids breaking down into a permanent hiss, or random speaker snaps, every month or so, requiring a trip to the doctor so the DOCTOR can put the stupid things in the mail for me to Starkey.
50% of the returned aids had the original problem and needed to be returned again. I have absolutely no comprehension of how older people deal with this inane, completely convoluted process and blatant theft of $8000 for two sound repeaters that will cost $100 from third party makers in the next 10 years. The so called Audiologists that provide patients with these aids are nothing but glorified salespeople that know less about the hearing aids, programmer, and software than I do now, after 2 years of use.

I have worn Starkey hearing aids for almost 20 years. They are GREAT! For people who say they are getting popping and straight it is because they are not adjusted right or the mold is not fitting right. You need to go to a good provider who will work with you until they are right. You have to make sure you have a good fit. If so then no popping or straight. Also you need a good provider to make sure they are adjusted right. If someone is having trouble with them than they need to keep going back until it is corrected.
Hi Molly, thank you for taking the time out of your day to write such a nice review!

I got my first set of hearing aids about a year ago and not being familiar with hearing aids it has taken me this long to decide just how bad they are. #1 I don't think that I will ever get where it sounds like my head is in a bucket. #2 When I'm in a crowded room it's hard to understand what people are saying because of all the "static", popping and clicking. I have started taking the hearing aids out just so I can understand what they are saying - why have them in the first place? #3 DON'T wear them when its raining or snowing!!! One drop or flake and they are dead, then they spend the next 2 days sitting in the charger drying out.
My wife thinks they help, she says I understand what she is saying more often than I did before. At times the sound coming out of them reminds me of when I was a kid back in the late 40's or early 50's when we built crystal or razor blade radios so we could listen to the local radio station. That is why I take them out and wear earphones when I listen to music. Definitely not worth the price!

Caveat Emptor! I am 57, and have worn hearing aids for the last 14 years. I am technologically capable. I had been very happy in Phonak for many years and had had a bad experience with Starkey in the past, but the audiologist at my new ENT convinced me that Livio was the way to go. Not so! They have been terrible, and the streaming and iPhone syncing capabilities with the Thrive app have been a joke. I bought them four weeks ago, and they’ve already been at Starkey for a week, with no improvement. I emailed the company, with no response.

Update on 03/12/2019: I sent emails to information@starkey.com and no reply. Called the 888-251-9340 and the operator had no clue when I told her about my emails. She didn’t have any idea what department handled the emails. She finally hooked me up to tech support who also no idea who handled those emails. Tech support did attempt to help but I had already tried all of the options to try correct the problems. Did advise how to send a tech problem email through the Trivent app. All these streamers Trivent and remotes are new and still technical problems. I would just like some from customer service to call me
Original Review: Had problems with hearing aids shutting down. It was sent back and they repaired it. Numerous problems with connecting iPhone and Thrive app. Watching tv on my streamer and one hearing aid will lose the connection. I purchased a tv streamer in Dec 2018 and stopped working in Feb 2019. Replaced it. Quality of streamer poor for the amount of money it cost. Reviewed it on Trustpilot and Corp sent me an email telling me to outline the problems. Which I did and no response back no response since last week. Resent it Friday and still no feedback.
