What features come with Starkey hearing aids?

Some of Starkey’s hearing aids come equipped with state-of-the-art technology that allows you to stream music and phone calls. These hearing aids also let you use the My Starkey app to control hearing aid settings from your smartphone. This controls three main settings:

  • Hearing Performance controls sound quality and clarity with speech enhancement features and noise control. It allows you to create presets for regular settings.
  • Information Assistance is provided through in-app support and information to help you adjust and learn about your hearing aids on the go. You can request remote adjustments to your hearing aids without needing to schedule an office visit, and the app can even transcribe conversations to your smartphone.
  • Smart Features like Find My Hearing Aids, Reminders, Translate and Transcribe can help in daily situations that turn these hearing aids into more than just a hearing aid. Your Starkey hearing aids could require several adjustments, so the company recommends staying in contact with your hearing professional during this period. This process of reacclimating to certain noises can be strenuous on the brain, especially if your hearing has been declining for a while.
  • Healthable Technology keeps track of your steps, daily activities and social engagement. It comes equipped with a fall-detection feature and heart rate monitoring.

Starkey hearing aids require a four-month adjustment period. This process of reacclimating to certain noises can be strenuous on the brain, especially if your hearing has been declining for a while. How much do Starkey hearing aids cost?

  • Your union
  • Your employer
  • Veterans Affairs benefits
  • Your insurance provider/HMO
  • A local charity

You could be eligible for partial or full coverage through Medicare or Medicaid. I was sent to Starkey through Medicare. They paid a portion, and I had to pay a portion as well. I spent a few months with whomever I was sent to trying to get them good for me. I finally left the company that I was sent to and went to another person, and she had been working before I left the office. I had to go back for some adjustments because I get a lot of background noise. I have an appointment with her again next month or in June for her to readjust.

After I left the company that I was sent to to get the hearing aids, they adjusted them every three weeks, but it was never right. When I went to Saint Luke's down in Kansas City, they got them to where I didn't think I was going crazy. They got the Bluetooth working, and they were excellent. The person that works with Starkey took a couple of times to get the hearing aids set right, but she had them manageable for me before I left the office that one day. She's a lifesaver. I like the people doing the job but I still don't think that I'm getting the full potential of the product. I also don't like the little plastic things that curl up around the inside of the ear once you stick it in your ear. But other than that, I don't have any problem with the hearing portion of it.

I did a hearing test for a DOP. I failed the one ear, and then the other was borderline. They said I required hearing aids. I knew there was hearing loss, so I went in and got checked and confirmed that I lost about half of my hearing. I was permitted, through my union, to receive hearing aids that they supplied. I went, and Starkey was the one I received. They are compatible with my phone, adjusting crowd control, and blocking out a bunch of the traffic noise. They seem the best fit for me.

I didn't know how bad my hearing was until I got the hearing aids, because it was just a slow decline over the years that you don't realize what you lost until, all of a sudden, you can hear again. I just couldn't understand what people were saying. Especially during the COVID time, when people wore masks, I couldn't read their lips, so I really didn't know what they were saying. I've had the hearing aids for about a year and a half now, but my life's definitely better. I hear conversations and hear what's going on. I'm not just sitting in the background listening to a bunch of mumbo and not understanding anything. I have a lot more interaction with people now.

I would recommend Starkey Hearing Aids. The folks I went to at Hearing Labs recommended Starkey Hearing Aids. And in the process of looking at what was available at the time I bought them, for what was advanced at the time, they were in the leading ballpark area. I wish they were cheaper, but it's about the going rate for the advancements I was looking for.

The hearing aids work well. I understand that I'm a novice to hearing aids. I'm 64 years old, so it doesn't work in my technology world sometimes. When I have problems and go back to Hearing Labs, they end up quickly solving the problem. Sometimes hearing aids are a challenge, depending on how they work. I still work and do tile work for a living. There were times that I work in the rain or in various conditions and Starkey's seem to hold up better than the competition and they were also moisture resistant. You can't drown them. But when you do get them wet, it's not affected. I've had one replaced because I also wear glasses. My glasses scratched the outside casing a bit and closed up one of the mic holes. They couldn't get the hole cleared, so they ended up replacing the unit itself. I understand that there are issues sometimes, but it was handled well. I recommended Starkey to my brother-in-law in Wisconsin.

My Starkey hearing aids work, and they were really comfortable. I love the packaging, and I like the things that come with it. As far as the price, it's good because my insurance covered all of it. I'm allowed 4,500, and I picked the ones that was within that range, and I like them. They're high-tech. They improve my hearing and they didn't have to have as much adjusting as my first pair.

I didn't know I had a hearing problem. I knew a lot of times voices seemed muffled, but I just thought maybe I needed to have my ears cleaned out, but come to find out, I have scar tissue. So, my Starkey hearing aids really helped. I didn't know I was missing so much. When I first got them, I could hear the wheels on the grocery cart. I just always thought I was too far from them. I didn't know that the sound was there. I just wasn't hearing it. I had to have my sister try that out. It was way too much stuff I was hearing. I'm hearing even the air coming through the ducts.

I'm afraid I'm gonna lose my hearing aids, so I don't wear them outside the home because the ones that I had before will fall out. So, I didn't wanna take a chance with these, but it has helped me understand conversations a lot better. I feel like I could be more a part of a conversation. I'm not saying "huh" all the time. Sometimes, I don't even let people know that I didn't hear them because nobody wants to keep repeating themselves. So, it helped me not to have to do that. While it's not perfect, especially in the right ear, I understand them.

I've worn hearing aids for years and it was time to re-up. Starkey is American-made, had a lot more features and one of the only available through the insurance. The website is good too. I got the AI 24 and they seem to be working fine. I've used the television setting because it boosts the sound up. The other thing is I like the battery life. If I happen to forget to charge it one day, it keeps on working. My only issue is personal. It's time to have a review with my audio response and tweak it up. I seem to be losing some capability, but I don't blame that on the hearing aid. That's more on my problem. If someone's looking for American-made, Starkey is the place to go. It's a good product with good performance and excellent battery life. The local representatives have been good as well.

I needed hearing aids and I've heard nothing but good things about Starkey, so I went with them. I went in for a hearing test, tried a couple different models, and chose the Genesis. Any experience with Starkey has been very positive. So, they're a great company to work with and I've recommended them to several friends.

Starkey Hearing Aids did a good hearing test. The people were competent and I decided to go with them. I went through several pairs of hearing aids. Once I bought my original ones, there were mechanical problems with the hearing aid that I had to have fixed, and Starkey was very receptive and friendly. I don't enjoy having to stop my day and get new hearing aids. But after that, the ones I currently have have worked very well. I go to a practice in Albany, New York and the person I dealt with is new to that practice. She did some adjustments that were good and I'm positive with her treatment. So far, so good with the hearing aids.

The hearing aids are on the back of the ear with a wire and a microphone that goes into my ears. They're comfortable. I charge them every night. On an average day, I run them to about 60 or 70%. Also, same as the other brands I've had, I can control it from my phone. Also, there's a self-check feature that's nice when it works. It's currently not working and I don't know why. There's a rattling sound right now. So, I'm not 100% sure that the product is better than others. But when they work, they work very well.

I had lost my hearing for many years and I was getting frustrated. My husband took me to Starkey, and they were very nice. The doctor was very nice and she understood where I was coming from. It's been many years since I lost my right-side hearing, and she helped me with that. The whole process was really easy. I got the Genesis AI 24. I'm happy with it. I could hear more clearly. My experience with Starkey has been great. I do recommend the hearing aids because it does work. You’ll feel like you will not have anything in your ear at all. My favorite feature of it is that I can use it with my phone.

I've been somewhat disappointed with Starkey. I bought the new set at a store near Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, and my wife and I moved to Lake Elmo. One of the hearing aids quit working, and we went to a local Starkey dealer. They sent both hearing aids to Starkey for a repair. They came back, and I went to pick them up, and they didn't work exactly right. They said I had to go back to the original store in Coon Rapids and have them do some sort of computer setup with them and then I could come back to Maplewood and then they would fine-tune it. So, I have not used those hearing aids in probably two months.
