Purchased my first pair of Warby Parker eyeglasses about a year ago. They are progressives. I started noticing more and more scratches on the lenses although I clean them strictly with eyeglass clothes. This has never happened to me in my decades of purchasing eyeglasses from my eye doctors. I had an eye exam today and brought my glasses to show my eye doctor. She confirmed that the lens coating they use is very low quality. She also noted that the progressives were marked incorrectly so they were not working optimally for me. I had noticed something off but chalked it up to being a first time progressive lens user. I just ordered new lenses through my eye doctor and would not recommend Warby Parker to anyone. You're not saving any money if your glasses are useless in a few months' time.

Before I read reviews I ordered a pair of glasses online. It occurred to me a day or so later to look up reviews and what I found was worrisome. I’m delighted to say that I have nothing negative to say. I virtually tried on several pairs of glasses, picked a pair I thought might work for me, put in my prescription online, did their PD measurement as required. I have absolutely no complaints. Thank you Warby Parker.

I will be requesting a refund and this is unacceptable. When I called they said I wouldn’t receive until next Friday which is well past the time your website stated for expedited. I went to Warby Parker over Thanksgiving weekend to see if they could fill a prescription that included prisms. I was upfront and told sales staff my prescription has 5 prisms. They said it wasn’t a problem so I scheduled an appointment for an eye exam that week. I wanted to be sure my prescription was current. I paid $85 for the exam. Dr. ** at the Gaithersburg, MD location did not mention any issues with filling my prescription. I ordered two pairs of glasses- regular and sunglasses. Single vision, since I wanted them only for distance.

I usually wear progressive lenses but wanted a reasonably priced glasses to workout in and bring to the beach without worrying about losing: ruining them. I received an email later that day saying Warby Parker could not fill my prescription with the prisms. They processed a refund for the glasses at my request but refused to refund the $85 for the eye exam. There is no excuse for everyone there to be unaware that my prescription could not be filled. The staff, including the doctor, are either uninformed, not truthful or incompetent. Regardless, your eyes are too important to take a chance on this place. Go somewhere else. Warby Parker is a joke.

2 days ago I went to my local store and purchased glasses. It was $470 for one pair. I have a hi index lens so my glasses are expensive. I checked off in store what I wanted but clearly something happened. This morning I checked online and there was an offer - that is now gone - for 15% off all lenses - NOT the offer of 15% off 2nd pair. Even without this 15% off offer though - the EXACT same glasses I purchased were $345 online vs. the $470 I just paid in store. Customer service was BEYOND infuriating. Amanda did NOT pay attention to my concern. Non stop gaslighting. It was like talking to a brick wall. Refused to investigate the disparity other than saying, "Oh well sometimes the store is more expensive." And emails to two of their SVPs, have gone unanswered.

I asked Amanda to not reply and I was waiting for an SVP to step in and she replied with "Hi Karen, Sorry the explanation wasn't clear enough for you. I'm happy to push this to my supervisor. Happy Thanksgiving! Best, Amanda" The SVPs were cc'd on the email with Amanda so that fact that she has zero clue who runs the company is pathetic. Not to mention I very clearly asked her to not reply and she does with passive aggressive nonsense that is simply uncalled for. Amanda should be fired. After this - I will NEVER do business with this company. Disorganize hot mess and scam business practices.

I purchased my first pair of Warby Parker glasses in June of 2022. I actually purchased two pairs. One was progressive. The other was for reading. Prior to this, I always purchased glasses locally. I went to West Farms Mall. I had an exam that same day with Dr. Grace **. I received my glasses shortly after that. This past week, I stepped on the readers and scratched the lens. The readers are necessary to my occupation and need to be replaced as soon as possible. I check their hours and drove the one-hour plus ride to West Farms with the hope of at least purchasing another pair and getting it in the mail as soon as possible. When I arrived, the staff refused to provide me with replacement lenses and/or glasses because my prescription had expired. The doctor was no longer on site and could not perform a new exam for approximately one week.

I explained that I needed glasses as soon as possible due to work and suggested, I buy a new pair with the old prescription. I was refused. I then offered to buy a new pair with the old prescription, schedule an exam and buy a second pair with the new prescription if it changed. I was refused again. The snarky sales rep tried to compare a prescription for glasses to a prescription for ** and refused to do anything to accommodate me. Frustrated by the lack of respect and indifference to my problem, I simply walked out of the store never to return. Customer service seems to be the difference between local optical shops and Warby Parker.

I've been going to WB for years now. They offer a nice selection, decent quality, and very good customer service. The optometrist has been great as well. They have nice, clean, retail locations and keep the place organized. Staff is always friendly and helpful. A few things to consider, however:

    1) They advertise $95 frames, but after all said and done, it's a lot more so expect to pay more. All the "add-ons" are pretty necessary, and I needed progressives too. So the a la carte items rack up quick. My last pair ($150 frames) ended up costing over $500, for just one pair of glasses!

    2) Also, they do not take frames back, so if you have a new prescription but your old frames are still in excellent condition, they will not take them back to fit new lenses and make you buy new frames every time.

Overall, I'm happy with WP and plan on returning, I like my optometrist a lot and they are all professional and friendly, but their $95 pitch is a bit annoying to see after paying several hundred more each time and I wish they offered a better trade-in program.

I had a horrible experience with Warby Parker, after ordering my glasses well in advance (I needed them for a trip abroad for around 20 days) they marked my ordered as delivered when absolutely nothing was there. I spent a lot of time checking were they went and well... seems like they simply just lost my glasses. This is just completely unacceptable on behalf of Warby Parker. I tried speaking to customer service and they could only offer me a refund while the only thing I wanted was to get a pair of glasses with my current prescription before my trip, which won't be possible because of their poor logistics. I had bought before with WP and had no issues. However, after this experience I won't be shopping from WP anymore.

I'm still not happy with the solution, but after having to go through three layers of people I finally got an answer. They don't do lens replacement and the discount is for a new order. If someone had told me this in the store, or through the help email, I never would have written this. It's unfortunate that it took so much of my time and energy to get an answer. Also, it's too bad they don't do lens replacement. It's less wasteful.

    Original Review: Oct. 24, 2023

This morning I went into the Silverlake (Calif.) Warby Parker store to see about getting replacement progressive lenses for my Daisy frames. My anti-scratch glasses have somehow managed to get quite scratched in a year, even though I only stash them in the holder it came with. The two associates there told me that I could get a discount for replacement, for merely $235. Now I'm no mathematician, but I am quite clear that what they offered was the opposite of a discount. This was more than I originally paid for the lenses.

I paid $95 for the frames and another $200 for the progressive lens (the prices haven't change since last year). When I asked for an explanation of the disparity, the two associates had no reasonable response -- repeating that this was just the cost set by the "system," which they said was new and would not let them alter the fee. I would have been happy to replace the lenses for the full price of $200 (despite the fact that I these glasses supposedly had anti-scratch coating.) But I am not interested in being stuck with a $35 junk fee.

I also contacted the help email but the response was more nonsense: "To replace just the lenses the price would be $235. This is a new program that is being ran at our lab to replace just the lenses. It can only be set up in store. With this being said I want to apologize for any inconvenience. We are not able to alter the price or offer additional discount. "I understand if this is upsetting due to the scracthes (sic) in your lenses. Please let us know if you need anything else we are here to help."

Just to clarify - I still have not received a clear explanation of why today you can get new lenses in new frames for $200. But replacements with your old frames would be $235. I guess this "new program" is just a way to make more money by urging you to toss your perfectly good frames and buy new ones. That's wasteful (more plastic in the landfill) as well as sleazy. Anyhow I did not order the lens replacement -- and I'm not sure that I will ever order from Warby Parker again.

My last eyeglasses got scratched with light use. They wouldn't change the lens even if I offered to pay for it. The overall experience with Warby Parker this time was very disappointing. I got my eyes checked in August and was really excited to order another pair of glasses as I had a great experience the first time I ordered glasses a few years ago. I don’t live in the city but made the trek downtown to one of the few locations to try some glasses on and ended up ordering a pair of Esme frames.

When I received them the lenses were loose so I went all the way downtown to take them in and was told that the lenses used didn’t fit the frame properly and that ‘sometimes this happens.’ I hardly got an apology but the person who helped me took my glasses and said he would order me a new pair. To my disappointment, when the second pair came it was the same issue, the lenses are not snug in the frame and the glasses seem rickety. I called to initiate the return this afternoon and the representative was helpful with this but did not offer anything for my lost time or effort. Both in person and over the phone, the people I spoke to didn’t seem to care very much and it’s really disappointing to have received such poor quality glasses twice. I previously recommended Warby Parker to family and friends but will no longer be doing so, and will look somewhere else for my new glasses once I return this pair.

Updated on 10/03/2023: I previously wrote a negative review of Warby Parker clip-on sunglasses. WP stated that they want my email address to resolve this. I’ve provided it twice through the app, but they have not responded. Not getting through. HELP!

Original Review: I received my glasses from Warby Parker in June 2023, together with clip-on sunglasses. About the clip-ons: from my brief experience, they’re apparently cheaply made. They were $65, but worthless at any price. I used the case, attached the clip-ons to the frames as instructed and routinely treated them gently. Despite such precautions, they weren’t up to normal use. Specifically, the clip-ons’ outer metal frame broke for no apparent reason.

Yesterday, I brought them back to the store where I bought them. The staff stated that their return policy is 30 days so there was nothing they would do for me. I tell you, when something breaks within such a brief period of routine use, it’s cheap! Based on my experience, their clip-ons are poorly made. Stay away from them. As if that wasn’t bad enough, their in-store representative suggested - without any basis - this was my fault, which was insulting. That turned what had been a positive overall impression of Warby Parker into a bad one.

Beware when ordering from this company! What a horrific experience, and I have been ordering contact lenses for decades! From beginning to end, ordering my lenses from Warby Parker was a complete fiasco! And this is not the exception - when I went into the store to try to resolve the issue, there was another woman at the counter trying to locate her contact lenses order that has gone completely AWOL - 1 1/2 weeks after ordering, she has received no information about the lenses, which she was basically guaranteed would arrive within the week. There was, in fact, a third person at the counter who had also had a terrible experience ordering glasses from WB.

To start, I went into the store and was told that they do not carry the brand of lenses that was prescribed for me. I went online and found them on the WB website, and basically completed the order. Before doing so, I went back to the store to confirm that WB did indeed carry the lenses, which the manager did, and I placed my order. At that time, I made it very clear that I needed the lenses ASAP. The manager told me that it is not necessary to pay the extra $25 dollars to expedite the order, that they typically come within the week.

3 days went by with no updated information on my WB account. Finally on day 4, I got an email informing that the order had shipped. Less than 2 HOURS later, I got another email that stated that the lenses are out of stock, on back order, and will maybe, perhaps, nobody knows for sure, will maybe back in stock by 9/4/23.

I immediately went back to the store and spoke with the manager, explaining the emails and again emphasizing that I need the lenses ASAP. The manager apologized profusely, but could do absolutely nothing to resolve the situation. The managers and other employees have absolutely no authority or capability of even following up with someone at WB who might be able to explain the contradictory emails, confirm whether the lenses had indeed shipped. The manager could only call the very same WB general customer service number that I had access to.

This is how WB does business - there is an abyss of accountability between the stores and the actual functioning business. Nobody at the store can help or even explain what the problem is. Instead, they read back to you the information on your WB account that contains says nothing that is helpful, just a cheery little unhelpful "We're working on your order!"

My inquiry as to why it took 3 days to inform me the lenses are out of stock, which other businesses will tell you immediately, and on back order was met with complete inability of the manager to even address the question. The manager said the only thing they could do was to cancel the order and refund the money. I agreed, because, as I explained, I need the lenses ASAP and will have to go and order them elsewhere, which I would have done days ago if I had been told they were out of stock. The manager then cancelled the order, only to then tell me that it will take about 5 days for the refund to be posted to my FSA card, which is needed for the new order. The manager failed to tell me this, even though I had made it very clear that I needed the lenses right away and had explicitly asked about refunding the FSA card.

Hoping to get some answers, I then called the customer service phone number and spoke with supervisor Nurra, who proceeded to tell me that the order had shipped today, that the cancellation of the order just done by the store manager had not gone through! She then attempted to gaslight me by saying that she could not "see" the email I received this morning, telling me the lenses were on back order until nobody knows when. When questioned about why the store manager didn't tell me the order could not be cancelled when they attempted to do so, she continued with the gaslighting, saying that the store manager cannot "see" the emails that she can see. This was the most ridiculous, corporate nonsense I have ever heard!

When asked how I could contact someone directly in corporate, she told me that I could send an email to a general mailbox, and she would forward to the necessary person. Nurra continued to insist on this nonsense, assuring me the order has shipped, even though I have received not notification of the tracking number, which is sent when the order ships in order to track the delivery.

In an attempt to get some accurate, reasonable answers, I asked to speak to her supervisor and was called by Matthew, who continued to insist that everything is in order, even going so far as to say the WB is not responsible for the automatic emails sent to me out by Warby Parker, such as the one telling me the lenses are on back order, even though the email has the WB name and return email address on it!

This situation was getting more absurd and frustrating by the moment. When asked how long the supposed shipped order will take, he said that is up to USPS. He denied any responsibility for the order or getting it to me in a reasonable amount of time; denied any responsibility for making the situation right, and denied any responsibility for the erroneous information being smugly spouted by "corporate" customer service reps and WB emails. Warby Parker has created a structure that makes it impossible to get accountability when there is a problem. Beware when ordering from this company!

My experience with Warby Parker was pretty terrible. I needed new glasses for my wedding (which I won't get now, largely thanks to Warby Parker). I ordered it with plenty of time, but their terrible PD tool kept failing. I took my pictures according to their instructions 3 times, until finally they emailed me with the same exact instructions which were ineffective. They told me I could download the iPhone app. If I had an I IPhone maybe that's a avenue I would have chosen for my first or second try, but I guess common sense isn't a WP value. Overall terrible. Just go to Zenni, EyeBuyDirect, or your local optician.

I bought a pair of glasses with transitional and progressive lenses and scratch resistant coating at a brick and mortar store. There was a guarantee against scratching for up to a year from purchase. I brought in an outside prescription. The service was great. They ground the lenses perfectly. Good assistance in selecting and sizing the frame. Prompt delivery.

Despite taking good care of the glasses, only cleaning with the WP micropore cloth and only occasionally using WP glass cleaner, about 10 months after purchase a lens scratched. When I took it back I was told that the warranty changed and was only six months. Since that time, despite good care, the lens became covered with small scratches that interfere with my vision. I see that other reviewers have had a similar experience. It seems that the lenses are not durable. I also feel that the original warranty should have been honored.

My United Healthcare insurance told me they are contracted with Warby Parker for a $67.50 upgrade for light responsive lenses upgrade. WP should have known that and I will not pay 100.00 if that is the case. Additionally, I just called the number in the email and they said I would have to get United Healthcare and Warby Parker representatives on a 3 way conference call to discuss. That will not be happening as I don't feel that is my place to make happen - WP as a business can be making that happen. Bottom line is I will be saving my money if I can't get the upgrade at the contracted rate and will take my business elsewhere next time.

My pair was initially delivered without measuring the ocular centre height, so I had dizziness and blue&orange shadows when looking at computer screens, and the Irvine Spectrum lady kept tell me it was the problem of my eye. Then I just happened to check out the Fashion Island store where they found the problem and put in a remake. The remake is taking more than 2 weeks and not even shipped. It's more than 2 months now in total time and I still have not gotten my glasses.

My wife is even more frustrated with hers. She is getting the 3rd remake. 1st remake the ocular centre height was measure way too low, by the Irvine Spectrum lady. Then the 2nd remake came in without the photochromic lens we paid for. I have yet to check the 3rd remake because my pair is not arrived at Fashion Island Store. This is extremely frustrated and unprofessional.

Warby Parker has quite possibly the worst customer service I have experienced. I placed an order and received their order confirmation email that says estimated delivery of 7-10 business days with a link to track my order that said the below: "YOUR ORDER IS. Working on it. We're hard at work making your order specifically for you! Check back for updates on your order."

I keep checking back and check the my orders page on their site with no updates. I wait 10 business days and then chat in to see what is going on and it turns out the payment was declined. No mention of this on the track my order page or the my account order page which both still said it was in process. I chat in to customer service to see if they can help me get my glasses faster since I had been waiting 10 business days already and NONE of their order tracking links mentioned any issue. They had sent 2 emails which had gone to spam since I wasn't looking out for them.

These types of things happen its not a big deal and just wanted them to help me get my glasses faster since I'd already been waiting 10 business days and none of their systems work in terms of showing there is an issue. The solution the rep comes up with is that I would have to pay an additional $25 to cut the time down to 4-6 business days. No additional help or anything offered.

It is incredibly frustrating because I did follow exactly what their order confirmation said to do (track my order using their page and wait 10 business days) and then they tell me there's this issue that I had no idea about and offer absolutely no assistance to rectify it. The agent was atrocious and offered no assistance and when I asked to be transferred to a manager sat waiting for 15 minutes before disconnecting. Awful customer service.

I ordered 2 pairs of reading glasses on 6/30/23. I tried on a metal frame and a plastic frame pair of glasses in the store near me. They both fit perfectly and was told they would be sent to me in 7 - 10 business days. The glasses arrived in short order 5 days later. The glasses didn't fit at all. When I looked down, they slid right off my face. Also, I couldn't read anything as text was very blurry. I took the glasses back and complained about the poor fit and blurry text. I was waited on by the apparent store manager. She countered my complaint by saying that "everyone's face is different and that's why they didn't fit". I responded that the frames fit perfectly in the store and that my face wasn't any different than it was a few days ago, hence the frames should fit. Plus, I couldn't read with my new glasses. I felt their quality control was poor.

I felt the manager was very condescending to the point of arrogance and when I expressed my opinion she said "I'm sorry you feel that way" several time. Not once did she show any empathy and was more invested in treating me as a problem to be barely tolerated. She kept a fake insipid smile plastered on her face and just kept repeating that everyone's face is different. Not once did she apologize for any inconvenience to me. Several time during the interaction she asked what I wanted to do, and I repeated several times that I wanted the glasses to fit correctly and that I wanted to be able to read. She refused to order new glasses to correct the frame problem. She instead just wanted to bend the frames. In the case of the metal frames, she had to curve the earpieces in over an inch on each side making the glasses look ridiculous on my face.

It was only after it was discovered that they had manufacture my glasses with lenses for seeing distance rather than with my reading glasses prescription did they agree to remanufacture/reorder the glasses. The replacement pair came in a week later and fit well upon arrival, reinforcing my comments on Warby Parker's lack of quality control. I learned their glasses are manufactured in the US, Italy and China. I also learned that their acetate frames easily warp if they get too warm and I would have to go back to the store to have them refitted. I am undecided if I will return the glasses as they have a 30 return policy. I do know that I would not buy from them again,

It was necessary to resubmit this a couple of times until WP felt they had a usable photo. The delivery came a couple of days before the specified date so no serious complaints about the delivery process. The glasses looked good but the fit needed to be adjusted. Laying them on the table, one of the arms did not lay flat so the glasses sat crooked on my face. I went to the store and was helped by a guy named Stewart. I found him to be the best part of the experience. He adjusted the frames, helped to make changes to the order and got me fitted with a new pair of reading glasses as well. I was greeted and helped as soon as I came in the store. It quick and painless. I definitely recommend the South Park store in Charlotte. My experience was great.

On the 9th business day, I reached out to customer service and was told that my glasses would ship the following day. Keep in mind, they were supposed to be delivered by day 10 at the latest. Day 10 came and went, so I reached back out to customer service. They tried to tell me it had only been 7 days since I ordered my glasses. I literally have the order number and receipt showing the glasses had been ordered more than ten business days prior.

They then tell me, actually the glasses hadn't passed inspection and they were remaking them. So, first they lied and said the glasses would ship the next day. Then they lied and said the order was allegedly within the 7 to 10 business days delivery window, before coming clean and admitting they'd messed up the order and the glasses. Zero apology for their error, while expecting me to wait an additional who knows how long for glasses that would likely have arrived a month after my initial order. I didn't trust them to deliver them or stop with the runaround. I cancelled my order and went to my local optometrist instead. Will never attempt to order from Warby Parker again, which is a shame because I'd ordered glasses from them before. But if they're going to lie about errors on their end with zero acknowledgment, I'll shop elsewhere. And I did.

    Reviewed May 30, 2023

In April 2022 I sought a new pair of glasses to bump up the reading lens of my 2017 WP glasses. I went to Warby Parker in Philadelphia and, with the help of their staff, selected a pair of Shea frames. On 4/14/22 I had an eye exam at Warby Parker, and the progressive lens and selected frame were ordered @ $425. When the glasses arrived about 10 days later, I was surprised that, instead of improving my vision, it was made worse.

I returned to WP. Their optician advised me that the glasses should be remade in a medium version of Shea to better accommodate the prescription. On 5/9/22 the larger Shea glasses were returned, and on 5/25 the medium Shea ordered. When I received this pair, the results were the same poor vision. I returned to WP. Their optician recommended that I have my eyes tested again. On 6/14 I was retested by the same optometrist who performed the exam on 4/14. The prescription was very different. The glasses were remade with the second prescription. The result was the same, poor vision.

I returned to WP. Their optician said that the optometrist had “done something she shouldn’t have done with the prescription,” The problem manifested with the focus level of my right eye not matching the focus level of my left eye. When my right eye was in focus, I had to move my head up and to the right to get the left eye in focus, in doing so the right eye vision was thrown out of focus. The glasses were remade a fourth time. At this point we were three months from the original order. Through all this I remained pleasant, even though this had taken a LOT of my time with all the half days taken off from work. I considered asking for reimbursement for the eye exam, but didn’t.

I returned to WP. The fourth pair seemed better. When given the card with varying type fonts, I was able to read it. However the text reading card does not apply to all situations. After a few months I noticed a feeling of heaviness in my left eye, which I attributed to worsening vision, and a few months later, I started getting headaches in my left eye. I finally wondered if it had something to do with the glasses, and retested my eye focus. In a variety of situations, the focus level of the left and right eye did not match. I realized that my right eye had been compensating for the discrepancy, and the left was suffering from considerable eye strain from the glasses.

I returned to WP in April 2023 to see what could be done to correct this ongoing problem, which I hoped had not damaged my vision. A WP associate claimed that he could make manual adjustments to the frames to correct the problem, which he did, and which made the glasses totally useless. The WP associate read through my archived history. In the course of our conversation to review the problem, he told me that there had been myriad problems with the optometrist who had twice examined my eyes!- that she had written many bad scripts!- and that she was no longer with WP. He then advised that I needed a new eye exam @ $95., and that new glasses could be made for an additional $200. Seriously?! At that point I would be paying $725. for the glasses, forget what I paid for the nonsensical and negative experience I’d been exceedingly patient with, and that I was now being asked to finance in order to correct.

I returned to my former Philadelphia lens maker of 20 years, with whom I’ve never had issues. The doctor performed a script exam for $45.. His associate was a great help with the frame selection. I was offered options, some of which would protect the health of my eyes for the work I do, none of which WP ever mentioned. The glasses are being made now.

Though a bit lengthy, this review is a digested synopsis of what occurred. The true test of character of an entity is the response when a problem occurs. Though there were efforts on WP’s part, I did not appreciate being gaslit into paying considerably more to correct what was very obviously numerous errors and poor work on their part. Principles matter, won’t return. Would love my money back.

I put in a review regarding warby parker offering to replace the sunglasses. I received regular readers from 3 years ago. Original: I called Warby Parker regarding a pair of sunglasses. Both lenses bubbled up. I keep them in a case and use the provided cloth. They were unusable. I called and spoke to customer service. He asked me to send a photo. He said the sunglasses were out of warranty but he could replace them for $145. I received the glasses about 2 weeks later and they were an old perscription of readers. No sunglasses. When I called they stated I could get the sunglasses for $100 more. This was their defective product and their customer service representative. They would not honor the $145. I will NEVER use Warby Parker, nor will I recommend them ever again. I will not be giving them another $100. I am waiting for my refund and return services label. Hopefully I don't get gigged paying for that!

In the past, lens replacement was $50. These lens scratch very easily and I appreciate the replacement policy being cost-effective. I bought a pair of $145 glasses that needed lens replacement within 8 months of purchase. The frames are in great shape. They no longer offered this policy, instead they offered a $50 credit to an entirely new pair of glasses which would be $95 and not helpful.

I asked for an account credit of $50 so at least I could by a $95 (costing me $45) to get new lenses since you cannot replace lenses anymore. The sales rep via chat said this would be fine, but of course there was no credit when I logged into the account. I will no longer be buying glasses from WP. I have purchased from there annually for years. Jen

5 months ago I made a decision to move my eye glasses business from Costco - huge mistake. I’ve learned that Warby Parker has no replacement parts and if something happens their solution is buy a new pair glasses- prescription lenses and all. Life happens and in my case, that was a puppy chewing my temples. I expected to pay for the replacement temples but didn’t want to drive an hour to my nearest store without knowing they could help. I chatted with a less than helpful representative this morning who explained they only have screws for their glasses and my damages weren’t under warranty.

I never tried to get the damages covered, I simply needed to replace the temples expecting full well to pay for them. However, my only option is to purchase a new pair of glasses for another $400. I will do that, just never again at Warby Parker. My biggest regret is the others I’ve referred to them (and have purchased), not knowing how transactional their support would be.

Cheap lenses have scratched twice now in less than 6 months of owning them. They won't replace the lenses a second time (first time was just 1 week of owning them) and wanted to charge me 100 dollars for a replacement with no warranty. Hugely disappointed and will not use their services again if this is how they choose to treat people.

I've been wearing Warby Parker glasses for 10+ years and from what I've seen the quality has severely decreased in the last few years. I've had my latest pair for less than a year (I mostly wear contact lenses anyways) and they already bent. My partner who is also a customer had her pair break completely after 2 years. This definitely does not match the quality in the past years. Not sure what's going on but either build or material quality is being cut somewhere. I also noticed that the glasses are made in China which I don't recall being the case for past years.

Three years ago, I had ordered a pair of Thurston frames with a progressive lens prescription. Aside from some minor scratches, the glasses are great today. No cracks in the lenses, no crazing. Just three years of wear and tear. Great glasses at a price I could not match locally. One would think that ordering the same frame for almost the same prescription would yield close to that positive experience. Unfortunately, it was the exact opposite.

I ordered on February 9th a new prescription in the same frames, Thurston (order #**). Glasses arrived 2 weeks later with a crack at the bridge on the left lens. I called to have the issue addressed. They put in a replacement order, requested a bevel exam to ensure there were no issues and was told shipping would be expedited.

Replacement order #** arrived 2 1/2 weeks later despite "expedited shipping". After one day, the left lens cracked with multiple cracks spidering from the top left corner of the left lens. I again called for assistance, a second replacement order was put in, bevel exam was requested again to ensure there were no defects and expedited shipping was promised again.

Second replacement order #** arrived 1 week later. Both lenses have smudges that can't be cleaned off. Left side lens has a partial visible fingerprint that does not clean off. These glasses are also unusable. When I called about the second replacement also being defective I requested a refund and to return these as well. I was told they have to send this to their insurance team and they would get back to me "in a week or two".

Today is March 23rd and I still don't have the glasses I ordered back on February 9th. I also do not have my insurance benefit available to be able to order something from another company until they do their "insurance team process". To say this is a total customer service failure would be an understatement. They were paid over 30 days ago and have yet to provide the product for which they were compensated. Warby Parker used to be a company that was known for quality glasses and outstanding customer service. That's why I attempted to be a return customer. It's a shame that such a good company has lost all quality in their products. I will not do business with them again and I do not recommend anyone use Warby Parker.

I was a college student at the time and did not have the time to fix the issue and used the first pair as a backup. When I got around to fixing the issue I was put in contact with a lead support. They said I was ineligible for replacing my faulty glasses because I had gone over the 30 day return limit. At most, they offered a 50$ credit towards new glasses. In this situation, I feel that this was a beyond inadequate response to a completely faulty product. In the future, I will most likely go to another supplier.

I love that they are affordable. I wouldn't have glasses right now at all if they weren't so cheap at Warby Parker. The quality seems no different than glasses sold at an eye doctor. I like that you can try some on at home for free. However, their measurements are strange. The only pair that fit me were discontinued and now their other frames don't fit at all. They don't tell you the vertical length of the lenses in frames so it's super difficult to choose a pair without trying them on. And there are very few WP locations near people, and they only allow a few different pairs to try on at home. So it's very difficult choosing frames online. It's strange they don't disclose the vertical measurements of the lenses. And strange they don't have glasses in the measurements that fit me. Their smaller frames have giant size nose bridges that make them too big and fall off the face, their frames are either way too small or too big. The sizes make no sense.

I purchased 2 pairs of eyeglasses with progressive scratch resistant lenses in May 2022. I now notice one has a deep long scratch on the outer lens and the second pair has a small scratch. I have been wearing glasses for over 50 years and have never had a lens scratch before and now I have both recent pairs from Warby Parker scratched without me being aware of any trauma to them. I called customer service and they now informed me that the 1 year lens warranty is no longer in effect and it is now reduced to only 6 months. Although my in store purchase experience was very pleasant I am very unhappy with the quality of the lenses and the small amount offered towards replacing the lenses.

I now see there are many bad reviews about Warby Parker lens quality and ease of scratching despite the anti scratch coating. I will no longer buy my glasses from Warby Parker and will return to my local optical shop where I have bought glasses for my family for years with no issues of scratches and that was without any anti scratch lens upgrade. Cheaper was definitely not better in this case. Buyer beware of the poor Warby Parker lens quality.

I have been shopping with WP since the first brick and mortar store opened in SF-- never had a problem with quality, fittings or customer service. In August 2022 I ordered two pairs: distance rx and computer rx. The first shipment (to my home, not the store) arrived with two pairs, but both with the same rx. I sent back the duplicate pair and waited for the right rx to arrive. It arrived with massive crazing across the right lens. I had to take photos to secure a replacement pair. The replacement pair took a month to arrive because they had to ship it to the East Coast first for "quality control" to ensure that the lenses did not have crazing. When it finally arrived the lenses looked good, but the right arm of the frames was bent/warped. That was mid-fall 2022.

I did not pursue a third replacement because I am homebound and desperately needed glasses to see/work and could not wait any longer-- Also I thought...fine, consumer beware, I will never order from WP again. Jump forward to January 2023...crazing on the edges of the lenses of both pairs has started. It's creeping away from the frame edges towards my main focal point.

I called WP this morning to request a full refund. I was told there is no refund possible; 30 day money back and that's it. The customer service folks I spoke with were polite but unrelenting. They offered to ship replacement pairs but I told them that I don't trust the product or their production service model anymore. I am very unhappy and out $420-- homebound and using outdated rx glasses in the meantime. Please note: the outdated rx glasses on my face right now are Warby Parkers! I bought them six to eight years ago-- no crazing, no quality problems. Don't shop here unless you can afford the financial loss or are just looking for cosmetic frames where there is no risk of crazing.

My ins company told me the policyholder cannot file the claim, only the provider. WP's email to me stated, in part, that: "we cannot retroactively apply your insurance....we can create a full return/exchange for the frame you choose to apply your benefits. The resulting order could then have your 2023 benefits applied up front and you would be refunded less your out-of-pocket costs". Due to WP's incompetence I lost out using my 2022 benefits. The manager insisted on email and would not budge even when my wife told her she will cancel her order. So much for flexibility. I can only speculate that having an email on record gives WP the right to advertise long after the glasses are delivered. The inflexibility and rudeness of the manager is inexcusable. I bought a pair of frames in 2020. They were progressives. First, the distance area of the lens is too high, so when I watch tv across the room I have to tilt my head down to see the screen clearly. Then the middle distance for computer is too far down so I have to lift my head when looking at the screen. Another neck age. Within a year, they were scratched. I returned them and the store took them back and I had to wait a week or so to get them back. Since then, the coating has degraded, so that the lenses look like they have smudges on them which cannot be removed. These are scratches--an optometrist I showed them to said they were dipped in a coating and the coating will eventually wear off, which I believe it is doing now, resulting in them being almost worse than wearing no glasses at all.

And I don't live in the desert or use rough cloths to clean my glasses, I am fastidious about using the lint-free cloth and no liquids. Went with Warby Parker because I liked the fact that you could try the frames at home before you bought them and I live in a small town with not many options for eyewear. Tried 5, found one I liked, ordered it. For about 165.00 I received the frames and the lenses loose in a box with no screws whatsoever holding them together. Contacted customer service who told me to get the glasses fixed at my expense and them forward them to receipt to be reimbursed. I thought that was a ridiculous answer so I contacted them again. This time, I was told they would send me another pair of glasses and that I could return the first pair, which I did.

When I finally did get my intact glasses, my friends kept asking to try them on and then telling me they weren’t real glasses, that I was just using them for looks. I assured them that no, they were prescription, but that my prescription was light. A year later when I went to get my prescription changed out by a local eyeglass retailer I found out that they were right. They sent me glasses without a prescription in them and I had been wearing fake glasses that were not helping my vision whatsoever for over a year (not to mention paid 165 bucks for them). Contacted customer service again, who suggested I return the glasses to them, which seemed like not a good enough answer. These glasses are very poorly manufactured in China for pennies on the dollar and they are complete and total garbage. You can literally get the same frames from any of these Chinese marketplace apps for around ten bucks. Do yourself a favor and buy your glasses elsewhere.

I have had issues with Warby Parker in the past - getting the prescription wrong, faulty frames...etc. I wanted to give them another chance and ordered a pair of sunglasses with expedited shipping. I received no update on my order after 8 business days. I followed up with their online chat. I was told my order was "standard shipping". When I told them I paid for expedited shipping they apologized and yes, agreed they saw expedited shipping and that my order was arriving today. Then proceeded to write back in the chat that the order was in fact delayed with no date of delivery. I asked why I would not receive communication regarding my order as I'm traveling and will not be at the address for delivery. I was offered no explanation other than "I can cancel your order". Rather than offering a solution, they simply cancelled my order. So I went to LensCrafters at lunch and ordered a similar pair in an hour.

I have had my new glasses for 9 month and they now have many very small scratches on the lenses. They are almost unusable so I emailed the company and they said they were sorry, but they have a 6 month warranty on scratches and I was past the time frame. (It was 12 months when I bought them>?) . They offered me $150 off a new pair ($450 new). I am very disappointed and feel like I have been lied to. I bought the Callen (Eyeglasses) Progressives light responsive Frame with polycarbonate Rx lenses Anti-scratch and anti-reflective coating included. Will not buy from them again since their product is inferior.

8 days later I get an email saying that they couldn’t retrieve my prescription, so I call customer service to see what the problem was and she clearly wasn’t having a good day a told me that I needed to get it myself and email it to them, well the optometrist I went to could not get an email to them for whatever reason so I call back, they next lady was helpful a said she would rush the order as soon as I fax them my prescription, I did that and everything was fine. 6 days later I get a email asking me if I want upgrade my lenses? Omg are you kidding me? I paid for those? No sir you paid for the other brand, so you haven’t even made the glasses yet? After another great unhelpful conversation with their Customer service (#5) who was even more unhelpful told me to either pay keep them the same as I ordered or cancel, duh **? So I fork out another 50$.

6 days go by and I get an email saying your card did not go through, you couldn’t call me? Fixed the problem which was on my end I will admit but they could have called, they already did once so I know they can do it… Needless to say I have to call customer service again because I still have not received my glasses.

I’ve been wearing glasses for over 40 years and never in all my days been treated like this!!! So much they I created this account so I could warn people, this coming from a guy who has never complained online or ranted on Facebook, if and when I ever get my glasses I will let ya’ll if they are as crappy as their service. I purchased the most expense lens option and do not wear them every day. They are poor quality. My friend warned me that they were poor quality but I went with them anyways. Deeply regret that and I would never repurchase. Spend a bit more a better product unless you want to replace them every year.

Reached out to Warby Parker and they have no replacement parts, this is clearly a product issue, I wouldn't recommend anyone spend their money on such poor quality glasses, there are so many other options out there, at a better price point. They offered me an exchange for them since I'm within 30 days of the purchase, but what's the point if they're just going to fall apart again a week later!

When that didn't happen, I once again had to reach out.

This time I was told the glasses were still in their lab, meaning the first 2 people lied to me so I wouldn't cancel the order. This person then told me that the glasses would be on my doorstep the following morning. This conversation happened at 7 PM, so according to this person the glasses had to be completed, picked up by a carrier, put on a truck/plane & shipped halfway across the country and would arrive at my house the following morning. When I asked how that would be possible the person refused to answer any more questions. I had to reach out a 4th time to cancel my order.

I went to my optician and rechecked the prescription and it was correct. The glasses are unusable as they are now. I spent over an hour on the phone with WP. This has turned into a time suck for a basic pair of distance glasses. They offered me a refund of $5 per pair for the lenses. Outrageous! So I was in need of a pair of glasses when I spent some months in NY last year since my original pair broke in the airport. So I read a lot of good reviews and trusted them and went to the one in Manhattan, near to Times Square. I bought the most expensive pack, with transition anti-scratch lenses, and in just 3 months they were scratched! I had a 1-year warranty, so I went to a Brooklyn store, near the 5th, and asked for a new pair. I got it, but it came bigger so I went again to have it fixed. The girl there destroyed my frame!

I wrote to Custom Service, not happy at all, and I must say they were very kind to me and very helpful, they respected my frustration and for that I'm grateful. So I went to a different location in Brooklyn, the one in Court St, and there I got a new frame and they fixed it, no problems at all. However, something felt off. And sadly, I didn't recognize it until some weeks ago when I tried the old pair of glasses I had here, back home. I had been feeling very eye tired and didn't know why, because Warby Parker promised me transition, blue-ray protection, and the same formula. GUESS WHAT! It was not the same formula, at all. Even after I gave them my old lenses so they could replicate it. I see better with my old glasses from here than I see with the best quality glasses I bought in Warby Parker (and believe me, the old glasses are normal quality, nothing too expensive).

I'm very disappointed in the quality of the product they sell. Don't buy it. Is better to save more money and buy from other brands than to give your money to the products they sell, because is not worth it. I gave them 2 stars and not 1 because they have good customer service. That, however, is not enough because they don't deliver what they promise.

There's lots of pretty redundant reviews about Warby P. It seems like they aren't educated or read enough on the issues they have. Here are the common problems I read, with what you really need to know.

-People complaining about problems with their PolyCarbonate Scratch resistant lens, yes, they will scratch. They're just more 'Resistant.' Not, 'Scratch Free...' nowhere does it say that.

And with the people complaining about headaches and their lenses, that has nothing to do with lenses.

-This has to do with people not getting their Pupil Distance measurement with their Optometrist (Which you need to manually ask for, they won't just give it to you that can cause issues with vision as your eyes need to be aligned with the mid point of your lens). Also as said in the Warby Parker small handbook they give "New prescriptions will cause headaches and straining over the course of a few days." Now I will say the application they have for pupil distance won't always be accurate because you're using your phone cameras, so it's not the most reliant way to work with that aspect but not horrible either, just not preferred if you want highly accurate readings.

-Then about the UV Light, the coating was most likely damaged to exposure of some chemical which can damage any coating. Of common sense, this can be hair sprays, alcohol solvent solutions or anything of similar kind which can damage it if not cleaned off.

With my experience with Warby parker, in my simple terms. -> It is great. I went into my Optometrist, got my prescription, my girlfriend told me about Warby Parker as she has used this company before, instead of me using my old store vision works. Sure enough I did their quiz on what glasses would work best for me. Narrow, I ordered the 'Robbie' in Antique Silver with Single-vision, blue-light-filtering, scratch polycarbonate lenses with my uploaded image prescription from what I was given from my doctor.

The glasses are amazing quality, perfect fit no need to adjust (As some will actually need to also said in small booklet given). I received them extremely faster than expected with the extra $20 shipping. My vision was straining at first because of how worn my old glasses were, and they were a bit big. I had them for about 3 years. I'm 21 now and these are what I needed big time. I wanted to make sure what I was buying was worth it, so out of $200 I got my money's worth happily out of their glasses. (You get what you pay for) I received my glasses earlier today. I have never wanted to write a review. Until today. Got yourself a long term client. Thank you Warby P.

I also have prescription contact lenses to see far away, another reason why I’d like something protecting my eyes while I have them in and I stare at a screen all day long, considering I don’t need them for close up. Well they were delivered with a coating on them, that almost makes it feel like they are magnified, and give me a headache EVERY TIME I wear them. I tried with and without my contacts in and it didn’t change. I called customer service, whom said “the only way to see if they had a prescription put in by accident, at the store, would be to pay for a visit with our optometrist”…. Like what? So I’m having issues with my glasses that I purchased from your company and I would HAVE TO PAY to have someone look at said glasses? Instead I said. "Well I’ll just make my annual eye exam appointment then and have my doctor look at them."

My doctor said they didn’t have a prescription, but the coating could be causing the issue. Now usually anti-scratch & anti-glare coating is an up-charge, but WP adds it on to all of their glasses. I call customer service back to tell them and they basically said, "Yea we add it to all of our glasses (aka TOO BAD), and maybe the intent isn’t to wear them on-top of contacts, but you’re past the 30 days and there’s nothing we can do for you!" I’m disgusted, $150 down the tubes because I didn’t call them within 30 days. I didn’t realize $150 would be enough for a company to want to lose a lifelong customer!

Being able to try on 5 pairs of frames without the pressure of someone watching you in the eye doctor's office allowed me to really check for comfort, since I've had painful glasses in the past (can you tell I'm all about comfort??). Plus, I was able to use my FSA to pay for them. I would use them again.

There are a lot of follow up emails to make sure they are perfect, and helpful instructions on how to adjust them. I don't live anywhere near a Warby Parker store so the online experience is great!

I have been a customer for more than 3 years. I used to love my store experience but now I am switching because of this horrible experience. First of all, I didn’t feel welcomed. My questions were only answered in the bluntest and shortest way without considering what I actually need. When I asked if I could pay through a certain credit card to get some points, the salesperson acted so stupidly surprised. I don’t want to go over the details but either they hate me for trying on too many pairs or they are just bad at what they do.

Besides, Warby Parker products are truly overpriced. I have been paying for the friendly service and being able to try on enough options in front of big mirror in a well lit space and properly designed store. Clearly the Westfield store in NJ just turned this experience awkward and uncomfortable. I will never go back to the brand again.

They require an original prescription with your full name, DOB and date of exam, if you can't provide that (for whatever reason, like privacy for example), they cancel your order and don't give a damn about written confirmation that in fact, the Rx you are providing is accurate (it is, I just happen to have those numbers from my optometrist over the phone). I guess they are covering their liability by requiring an original prescription but the overall customer experience is hindered by their lack of flexibility. Other companies (Zeni) on the other hand do not require original prescriptions or personal info... After calling customer support, I had to spend 30min+ trying to get them to place again my original order. Really no apology nor concern for customer satisfaction or overall experience.

I'm disabled and have a hard time working with the retail eyeglass stores. Warby Parker was an excellent alternative to what is usually a painful experience, both physically and financially. I used the home try-on to determine the best fit, then I ordered from the overall inventory. My glasses came 10 days earlier than predicted by the company.

The frames were exactly as they looked online. I chose a red, which can be very hard to match, but Warby Parker was spot on with the shade. The glasses fit perfectly. I've never been able to say my glasses have been comfy ... until now! They seem very sturdy, they look fantastic, and the price was right. I got the anti-glare coating, standard on all their lenses, and I added the blue light filter since I'm on the computer 24/7. That increased the bill by $50, but the total was still only $145. That's less than I've ever paid for glasses I absolutely love. All in all, this was the most pleasant experience and outcome!

Beware. Warby Parker is big company. Once you order your glasses you will be entered into their "customer satisfaction machine." You will receive e-mail after e-mail about your order, sales promotions and customer satisfaction surveys. This is all great until you have a problem. If you do, don't expect a resolution. You can e-mail them or respond to one of their multiple emails to you. But the customer service representative that gets your e-mail won't ready it thoroughly. They will respond with some BS sales crap that won't address your issue. It will take an e-mail exchange of 4 or 5 e-mails before they will actually read about your problem. It helps if you pepper your e-mail with a few mild expletives. That seems to be the only way to really get their attention. They will then apologize for the bad service and ask that you "be patient."

Your problem will not be resolved, and you will be left sitting around waiting for weeks for the $500 pair of glasses you ordered weeks ago to be delivered....sometime. The date will move, but they won't tell you about it. Your "tracking" will indicate that you got you glasses last week. Then to rub salt in the wound, you'll get an e-mail asking about how you like your new, non-existent glasses? How are you adjusting to them? Please visit our website and buy more!! My sunglasses arrived with no issues, as promised. But I'm not Corey Hart and I don't want to wear my sunglasses at night! What I want is my regular glasses!!!!

My in-store experience was fine. Was told 5-10 business days. When I tracked package, it gave a date but never came. After a while it showed no shipping movement. After a month I called. Was told there is a note on account (Warby Parker) saying Nashville bombing was near Warby Parker store, totally understandable, but WParker should've contacted me in some manner. On call I was given again, same time frame for delivery. After a while I called again and friendly person said by end of the week. I called again when They didn't come next week. Person said sorry they should be there soon. I asked to speak to manager, who had me go check mail and they had been delivered that day. They had had another pair made after one of my calls/complaints, saying they must have been lost in mail.

The glasses that came were apparently the first pair ordered a month ago. I was told they would cancel delivery of second pair. They should've just let me have two pairs. Would they wait until they had a customer with my prescription, my extras (computer glare control, etc) who chose my frames? No! They were already in mail and they canceled them after taking a month to send and never updated me. They can't use the prescription again. Frames they could but how cheap.

No compensation for my long wait and no notification. I had to have old lenses popped out of unusable frames and pay for new frames at my eye doctor because I couldn't wait a month using taped together glasses.. Plus, I like those my eye doctor's frames better. Also I don't remember the frames starting at $95 before adding specifics. Ended up paying over $300. Yet, they arrived much later than the 10-day description and the pattern was nothing like I had ordered.

The pattern was severely flawed around the bridge and top portions of the lenses. I would be embarrassed to wear the lenses I received, they were not even wearable. Of course, I am returning the flawed product. When I spoke to customer service, the representative explained that sometimes the pattens come out flawed and it is a common occurrence. The representative offered to send out another pair free of charge. Sadly, I have lost trust in the Warby Parker customer care process. The product quality was incredibly subpar. They were very helpful and answered my numerous questions via the messenger service on their website. I ordered the 5 pair of try-on glasses and chose a pair that I liked. The whole process only took a few weeks. My progressive glasses arrived, and I was very pleased! I have had no problems whatsoever. I get a lot of compliments on my glasses! They are beautiful, sturdy, well made, and I absolutely love them!

Fast forward to today, and after a routine eye exam, my prescription changed, and it is necessary to get a new pair of glasses. Of course, I went to Warby Parker again after such a great first experience!! I don't recall if they had the virtual try on experience two years ago - but I don't think they did. I was able to virtually try on glasses, and I ordered 5 pair to try on at home.

Well, after I ordered the 5, I found even more that I liked and ordered 5 more. WP made an exception and sent me the second 5 before I returned the first 5! Yet again, it has been an amazing experience!!! I actually found a pair that I liked that isn't available for try on - but I ordered it in another color to see if I liked the way the frame looked on my face. I utilized the virtual try-on as well as the at home try-on and found the perfect frames! I can't wait until my new progressive frames arrive!!!! Warby Parker is a great company to work with. They have amazing eyeglasses that are gorgeous and affordable. I encourage you to give them a try!!!!

My daughter received an eye exam and was issued a prescription for contacts and glasses. She was not given a paper copy because the script was “in the system.” The optometrist was located inside the Warby Parker store. I was unable to purchase contacts because the online script is incomplete and void of required information such as physician name.

Three glasses were purchased for three separate family members. The store does not have the ability to add the patient name to each invoice for the glasses which is problematic when insurance allows for one pair per family member per year. This had to be done through the customer service number. I have called three times with no corrected invoice.

There is no way to contact the physical store. Customer service must send the store an email. I grew tired of waiting, drive to the store and observed 4 employees standing around. I was told nobody had checked the email. The communication between customer service and each individual store is extremely poor- with no direct phone line and solely reliant on emails which are seldom checked. It is amazing that neither a customer nor the customer service from Warby Parker are able to contact each store.

Bought my 18 yr old son glasses 5.5 mos ago. He bumped them with a utensil at dinner and they fell to the table (15” drop). Frame split above one eye. Lens falls out. Warby Parker offered you sell me a new pair - full price. No warranty. No discount. For these to break so easily there has to be a defect but I have no recourse. Never again, Warby Parker.

I have eyeglasses and sunglasses from Warby Parker that I bought at a local shop. The reps were so kind and helpful. They patiently gave feedback while I tried on pretty much every style. When my glasses arrived they helped shape them to my head so they wouldn't slide down my nose, for free. And every time I need them adjusted they do so happily. I love my glasses and I think the price is fair. My only regret is getting the blue light filter (costs extra) for my eyeglasses because it's essentially worthless. Blue light eye strain is a joke! Other than that, I'm so pleased.

This company has the best customer service I've ever encountered. They are quick to reply and their agents are extremely knowledgeable. I appreciate the fact that the try on and receiving of prescription glasses all happened within one month! As soon as I ordered the pair I wanted it, they shipped it out within 1-2 days. I definitely recommend this company to anyone who like me has no insurance and who had an issue with seeing lens glare on their other prescription glasses. I will definitely be purchasing from them again.

Years ago when Warby Parker started their customer service was great. Fast delivery of cool glasses for reasonable prices. Things have changed now; maybe its ownership, becoming too corporate, or general lack of empathy. I am very dissatisfied with my recent transaction, let me tell you what happened. On March 26th I ordered a pair of blue light reading classes for use with my computer. The try on frames arrived, I ordered the Benson frame and took a photo of my new eye prescription. Done (I thought). Three weeks go by and my online order has not moved. I call to ask WP what is the status. "We are waiting for you to answer us on a prescription question". OK I answer, two weeks go by nothing. I call again. Same question from WP! I verify again.

Finally the glasses ship April 20th from the WP factory in New York. Unfortunately they are still in Newark according to USPS. I call again, and again, no one at Warby Parker can get my glasses. No empathy, no refund, I can't believe this is the same company from early days. Do not trust Warby Parker, find a different way to get glasses online.

Not calling this person out but a “beware” as it will cost that person their job next time.

I ordered a new pair of glasses from Warby Parker and received a 7 to 10 days time window to receive my glasses in the mail. That same day I created an account on their website and called them requesting an itemized receipt for my insurance, they sent it to me and told me all was ok. 12 days later and no glasses, I called them to get the status of the delivery. The customer service person then told me they were not able to make the glasses, due to my prescription being out of the ordinary. In 12 days no one called me to tell me this and I would never have known it if I had not called.

I had the same prescription done many times before by different businesses without any issues. Now I need to reimburse my insurance for the claim I submitted and which they promptly paid, and get my glasses done in a different place. I basically lost two weeks waiting for nothing. It was my first and last time doing business with this company. Horrible service and organization.

Other than the paddle issue, these glasses have been the most comfortable glasses I've ever had. The light responsive lenses work fast and well. I have been using Warby Parker as my primary source for glasses since 2015. I have never encountered a better financial and emotional investment! Their customer service team is out of this world. ALWAYS very warm, welcoming and helpful. I never feel rushed or like a bother. If anything I feel like they are kindly holding my hand, walking me through the details I need. Not to mention this company takes care of their customers. Everything is fair that they do, and they far from nickel and dime you.

Last year they replaced the lenses for one of my old pairs of frames for FREE and also they did a second pair of my old frames for FREE just for being a loyal customer for the past 4 years. This was right after I purchased a brand new pair of glasses in July. Couple weeks later I had practically 3 brand new pairs of glasses and the only ones I purchased were the new ones in July. Three for 1 - amazing!!

I just called and the nicest girl named Christina answered the phone, so sweet, and I told her that my frames in the glasses I'm currently wearing (the ones purchased in July) have taken a beating because I love them so much I hardly wear my contacts anymore. I asked to have my lenses replaced and she said because I have the blue light filter they cant replace my lenses... they just have to make me new glasses all together. I was okay with that and asked how much I was looking at. Guess what Christina said - FREE! Because it is under the one year warranty.

I'm not a review person but after 4 years I had to give this company the hype they deserve. I will never buy glasses anywhere else. WP always has my back, the customers back, and their customer service team has been stellar every phone call over the years. I never have to talk to a robot. They feel like friends at the end of our chat. Thank you WP!!!

    The good about Warby Parker:

    - Try on at home for free,
    - cheap,

    - a good variety of styles.

    The bad:

    - Cheap lenses that scratch easy.

I spent only $100 for my frames and lenses. The frames have helped up fine but less than a year later my “scratch resistant” glasses are marked up so much I can see them when wearing my glasses. Bottom line is that I can spend $100 for glasses every 9 months or I can spend three times as much for something that will last for 3 years. In the end the cost is the same so it’s sort of the $10 pair of sunglasses idea. - Not a big deal if you lose them 'cause they are cheap but even if you don’t lose 'em they won’t last long.

Overall great. Tried 5 pairs on at home. Fell in love with 1 pair specifically. I kept getting emails about the pair I really liked. It wasn't too much. It was a nice constant reminder that this pair I wanted was waiting for me. Well, finally I bought the pair for my own Christmas gift. I wasn't able to make an affirm account (divides payment into 3 payments) for some reason but if you use Samsung pay currently they will give like 14% cashback so that was nice! I received the glasses 2 days earlier than expected delivery. It's Christmas season. THAT'S AMAZING. Order was correct, & the packaging... so awesome! Case included & a lens cloth.

The legs of the frames were not the same as the ones I tried on... luckily they are thinner which I prefer so that was great in my opinion. Others may prefer a certain thickness so just be aware of that. I also tried the pair on in the summer & order them months later so they could of changed the legs of the frames as well. But it wasn't an issue cause like I said I preferred them to be thinner. Prescription feels comfortable just got to wear them for a couple weeks til they fully adjust with my eyes. They fit my face pretty well. Still planning to go to an eye shop & have them adjust it a tad but that's understandable. Customer service is helpful as well. I only needed to contact after I placed my order & my prescription wouldn't upload but I was able to after contacting customer service via chat. Would highly recommend.

I have always gone through name brand glasses when I update my prescription but my boyfriend kept telling me to go try Warby Parker since he already has two pairs from them. I finally did and I can't believe what a world of a difference it has been. I spent $500 out of pocket on the glasses I had before since I do not have optical coverage. After tax and thinning out the lenses since I have very strong prescription and getting the UV tint on them, I only spent $187! WHAT??? That extra $300+ back in to my bank account felt so nice when I returned the ones I had bought from a name brand retailer. I love that the UV tint protects my eyes from the harsh white sky when it rains or when it's sunny without being transitional. You can order five home try ons and it's completely paid for and covered by them so you know which frames fit your face best before ordering.

If you're like me, you might be super anxiety filled while ordering something so precious online. Their customer service is absolutely amazing and they are no doubt 100% committed to making sure you love your glasses or they will refund you your money back. I went to Zenni Optical after ordering through Warby for a cheap back up. If you wear your glasses all day, like I do, your biggest fear is breaking them.

Their customer service and attention to detail is nothing like Warby. I'd rather pay the full $187 over again for a back up than the $40 I paid through Zenni only to have glasses I couldn't see out of arrive. Not to mention the extreme hassle I had to go through to get my money back. When I say hassle, I mean going above and beyond, speaking to customer service via phone, Twitter DM and emails to get my money refunded. Warby has always made it clear from day 1 that their top concern and priority is how well you can see out of your new frames and how much you absolutely love them. Let's be honest, you've got these things on your face all day long. Why not love them? You should and I do. THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH WARBYYYY!

The 5th pair that I purchased less than a year ago just broke in the middle. When I took the pair to the store at Grand Central station in New Your City a very unfriendly representative has informed me that I stepped on my glasses (sic!) and that the frames appear to be very old (?)..Since none of it is true I was really not amused by this treatment. I actually barely used this pair and kept it as a double for the most part. Obviously the store keeps a record of purchases and this was pure insinuation. So, when I ordered from Warby Parker, my original prescription based on my new one was actually very little difference to begin with, so much so that my insurance won’t even cover like 100% ‘cause it’s like, “Oh, no. You don’t really need glasses ‘cause your prescription haven’t changed.” So, I tried the Free at Home pair to make sure that they fit well. They did. I tried the Daisy women’s ones which looks like this. [Shows the glasses that she ordered.] I ordered them back in October. In October, the status of my order just kept saying, “Working on it” for two months. So, around Thanksgiving, I actually called. I spoke with an Alexa. She was very kind enough to reimburse me and try to start a new order. And it still said, “Working in it”. And it wasn’t until I spoke with a man who I forgot his name, and he said, “Let me try to upgrade you to high index lenses for your prescription. Maybe that will get it moving.” And it did. And it was compensated. So, I wasn’t charged with anything, which I appreciate. They did come today and the only bad part is that when I put them on, I can’t see if they’re just laying on my nose. Like up here, it looks like the prescription is very warped. It’s not until I do this, lift them physically off my nose, that I can see really well, almost like a bifocal prescription, which mine are not. And also, my old glasses, I can see every which way out of them. So, I called again and I was transferred over to the Optometry Department who pretty much gave me excuses like, “Oh, I think I know the reason why. I think they’re like that because of this or they’re like that because of this. Maybe I should upgrade you to a higher index frame.” So, I’m just like, “No.” I’m not gonna go back and forth again, heaven forbid, for another two more months. So, I’m gonna return them. So, I’ll just say to you, order at your own risk.

I really like their frame designs and they have friendly in-store representatives but that's about all the positive feedback I can give at this point. I originally ordered a pair of frames with prescription lenses back in September which arrived in just over a week. But the frames did not suit me as well as I'd hoped and the lenses seemed of poor quality-I could see fine looking straight ahead, but my vision was very foggy looking anywhere else. (I also likely needed needed more precise measurements since I have a strong prescription, -10 in both eyes). So I requested a return through email which was quickly approved. However it took almost a month and a half and many more emails to actually receive my refund, which is ridiculous considering I was originally told by customer service it would take no more than a week.

While waiting for this refund I went to a WP store in my city and tried on some frames there, until I found a pair that suited me much better. The in-store staff were very friendly and helpful and made some eye measurements which I hoped would be more precise than with my first order, but unfortunately this was not the case. In this second order the lenses were still very foggy and my left eye felt unusually strained. After this I just took the glasses to my local optician who was happy to replace the lenses and I can now see much more clearly and comfortably. My advice (especially for those with stronger prescriptions): if you really like their frames, use their try-on service (or go to one of their stores and try on some frames if one is close enough), then order the frames online and get your local optical shop to make the lenses.

Updated on 10/14/2019: I’M JUST GOING TO TO LAY OUT THE FACTS. YOU CAN JUDGE FOR YOURSELF. PERSONALLY I’M SHOCKED THAT THESE GUYS ARE IN BUSINESS!!! So after an unfortunate experience of poorly made progressives (twice), and weeks of investing $345, I moved on to another vendor who made my prescriptions properly the first time. I’ve already written a poor review about WP and was hoping I would not have to deal with them again. But the drama and poor customer service continues... thus the poor reviews get longer.

I’ve had to call on three occasions to ask about being properly refunded. That’s just wrong and feels nefarious to me. I do believe that a negative review kicks your refund down the line even more. I guess I’ll find out in two days??? That’s what the really nice agent told me tonight. In fact, he even sent me an email to apologize. How convenient for their accounting department. This company feels shady to me. Here’s the facts. They stop communicating when you don’t want their product. They don’t refund you when you return their defective product (like all other companies). After calling and inquiring (that they even received the product), they do nothing until you complain again. Let’s hope my hard earned money makes it back to my account soon enough. I’ve now had to spend it twice to see. That’s not right. Product looks great. Advertising rocks. Management needs help.

Original review: On 8/23/19 I contacted WP about their free try ons. They arrived quickly with some great looking frames. I loved everything about this company so I ordered a pair. Then I was asked to visit the WP store where I was introduced to a poorly trained optician who got the measurements wrong on my progressives...twice. After complaining...twice, I was given a 10% discount. Customer service is very sweet and understanding (like was surprised that they got my glasses wrong twice), but the company or perhaps one individual was not able to service my order?

Today is 9/24/19 and the customer service representative said she would refund my entire purchase. Unfortunately, I’m stuck without glasses by a company who looks great online until you order their prescriptions. I have no idea why they can’t get a simple prescription right, but after 2x attempts and a month of headaches I’m going elsewhere. I have no confidence in the individual who dropped the ball on my eyeballs.

This is a review for try at home frames. I chose two stars because of the quality of the frames for the price. However, the frames came quickly in a nice box. Instructions were easy to read and follow. I chose 5 frames, 2 of them were sunglasses. All 5 frames were off brand. The sunglasses were the best quality of all 5 frames. They were Barkley Black Matte and Perkins Black Matte. They were the quality you may expect for $145. Decent. And if you are a person who is not hard on their glasses, or ALWAYS keeps them in their case when not in use (and not on the top of your head for example), then these may do the trick.

The other three frames I chose to demo were Finch, Ava, and Clare. To my mind, they are comparable to readers frames you may get at a Walgreens or CVS. Very flimsy. In fact, I suspect the drugstore reader frames for $30 are better quality. For $145 (I think that includes lenses), you can do just as well if not better at America's Best when you buy their off brand frames and buy a lot less.

While I like the Warby Parker frames that I purchased for my prescription sunglasses, I'm extremely disappointed with its lenses. I realized some weeks ago that it was getting harder and harder to see things through the either lens. To my surprise, I found that there are lots and lots of tiny perfectly horizontal slits in the lens coating. Imagine a grouping of hyphen symbols directly in your field of vision. I've attempted to replicate the "slits" that appear in the lens below:

    _ __ _ _
    _ _ _ ___ __

    _ _ __ _

I've always kept the sunglasses in the case when not wearing them so the only answer for the odd, horizontal slits has to be, in my opinion, defective lens coatings. I contacted Warby Parker and was told that, since the glasses are more than a year old (2 years old) the only solution was for me to purchase new lens from them (at a price higher than I paid for the original lens). Extremely disappointing "customer relations"... and quality control.

I'm writing this review because I see a lot of posts that, after my experience, I feel are unfair. The best way to put this is by saying that only an impatient "let me see your manager" type of person would be annoyed with the turnaround time of this company's product. I ordered the try at home glasses and received them within a few days. I knew immediately which ones I wanted, so I ordered a few pairs. I order contacts online all the time and never needed my prescription on hand, so I asked them to contact my doctor. I already knew that this was going to be a hit or miss, since I go to a rather sketchy Costco optometrist. Long story short, he never got back to them, and after about 4 days, they emailed me and texted me to ask if I could send in a copy of my prescription and/or give them another way to contact my doctor.

It took a while, but I eventually found my prescription! So I texted them back (yes, texted), and they responded to me immediately. It was a real person texting me, not a robot. I emailed the prescription, and was told that my prescription did not have a PD. They also said that I would benefit from high index lenses according to how strong my prescription was. I had no idea - I haven't worn glasses in 7 years. Instructions on how to submit my PD were very easy. I got it wrong the first time but I got an email back IMMEDIATELY (literally like a minute after submitting my photo) about how I needed to stand further away. I re-submitted the picture and they responded, again immediately, and my order was starting to get processed.

As far as their recommendation for high-index lenses, I used their online chat to ask if I could go ahead and change it before the order got processed/shipped. I also asked if I could pay for expedited shipping. Emi said "of course, I can add that right now. And don't worry, it's on me today!" Yes - I had to wait some time to get the process rolling. But that was because of my doctor being unavailable. Once they got my information, my glasses were processed and shipped within a day, and the shipping time with (free!) expedited shipping was ONE day!

They were so helpful and available throughout the entire process. You don't get this kind of customer service from companies that sell "cheap" products. I've never been able to buy two pairs of glasses at the same time - online - and have them still be less than one pair at a traditional store and get to me faster. Love it. I am loyal to Warby!

I was so seasick that I threw up after only a few minutes of wearing my glasses. Flat surfaces looked like they were bending. After taking them my eye doctor to be checked, he discovered the focal points were completely wrong. One was on the top right corner of one lens and the other was almost to the very bottom of the frame. One of my lenses also had an entirely incorrect prescription. None of what they did complied with my doctor's clearly written order. I wasted so much time with this company. I opted to return them and go back to purchasing expensive ones directly from my optometrist's office. But now it is too late to get my new glasses before I head out of state for several weeks, which means I have to remain in my old glasses with a prescription that is not longer valid. All Warby Parker did was get my hopes up only to majorly let me down. I will never purchase glasses from them again. They were definitely too good to be true.

We had a horrible experience with them twice now. We ordered glasses for my daughter when she was 11, and not only they messed up her prescription, they also didn't do the adjustments right and didn't know how to do it. After that experience her cross eye came back and she had to have a surgery. Second time we unfortunately had to use them because they promised that they would get her prescription done in 2 days. The order was in on May 26th, it is June 5th now and they are still working on it and no word on the delivery time.

Not only they were inexperience, not knowledgeable of certain lenses they also were lack on communication and keeping up with their commitment. I feel like I have a lawsuit for them. If you don't know or don't understand how to do things DON'T make a promise and take a work order. It is easy to expand but if you cannot keep up with your customer service and having a knowledgeable staff don't open stores with inexperience people. At the end of the day you are not selling shoes, you are dealing with health and eye issues.

Purchased at store, waited three weeks for glasses. Paid $325 because high index and Progressive. Glasses arrived totally splayed (spread out). I looked closer and there are scratches and dents on the frame and temples. I paid a lot of money for these glasses, it was not a $95 deal. It looks like they sent me either used glasses or somebody’s return. I expected glasses that were new and didn’t have temples that were totally spread out; they literally could’ve fit on the outside of my ears. I’m going to return them tomorrow and see if they really do have a no hassle return. I ordered two pairs of cheap ($25) single vision lenses from a low-cost website and they were better quality than the ones I got from WB - disappointing.

I have ordered on more than one occasion thru Warby Parker my eyeglasses, and past never had an issue, but seemingly their Customer Service has gone down. I suspect due to their growth. I got no email confirmation for tracking, or a thank you as past. When I initially returned the glasses to the local store on Newbury St., Boston, a Salesperson and Manager, assured me they would get me free expedited shipping, as wrong glasses were sent to me, as I told them needed them ASAP as without glasses! Never got tracking, and here it is now 4 days later no glasses.

Followed up about tracking, and was provided such, but also was told glasses did not ship out until previous day, which is not what I was originally told. So, called today as still no glasses, and was told my glasses shipped out this a.m. and I was livid! One call after the other the ball was dropped. I was also told in one call that they changed labs from where they were producing my glasses, and why the delay! I escalated this yesterday to a Manager, and she apologized and said she would look into this. You would think I would have gotten an email from the Manager, confirming such, but did not!

I use to be VP of Customer Service for a Fortune 500 company with presence all over the U.S., and this has been one of the worst customer service experiences I have had, from no follow-up to lie after lie. Inept Customer Service. Calmly told one guy who sounded so young the issue, and did not even have the courtesy to say, "I am sorry for the inconvenience." I have spent my hard earned money, and plan to take my business elsewhere in the future.

My extended relatives I had turned on to Warby Parker, and have let them know about this experience, so they are going to go elsewhere. It is so disappointing as always liked their glasses, and past experience has been good. But, because day after day on this order, there has been nothing but inconsistencies and real lack of service! I would strongly recommend going elsewhere. I have ordered remotely now at GlassesUSA, and has been a seamless process, and nice offering! Too little too late, Warby Parker! Money clearly is more important to you than service! This is an honest review, and sadly a loss of business for Warby Parker!

Not only did the order take longer than expected - from my end as well as Warby Parker - but when it did ship is when the real issue began. They have a "lab" 10 min from me in Sloatsburg, NY. Yet, after 2 days of no activity via USPS the package was in White Plains, NY which is 30+ min from me. This was the first of something awry. A day later, today, the shipping activity shows it went from White Plains, NY to Philadelphia, PA then to Newark, NJ AND it's showing right now it's back at White Plains, NY with a message saying something about no more detailed information at this. I get it - this isn't exactly Warby Parker's fault.

However, upon talking to 2 different reps all they said was they are at the mercy of USPS as this has happened to customers and all they can do is file a claim with USPS or wait till they arrived. Are you ** serious?! We pay a lot for these glasses and have expectations as customers and all they're going to do is coldly dismiss and diminish our issue not hold USPS accountable?? No, ** that. I'm done with Warby Parker. And I hope you reading this take your business elsewhere - you deserve better and never ever settle for anything less than the best as clearly Warby Parker isn't that.

I signed up for the free five pairs of frames to be delivered to me to try on and see which ones I liked. There was one specific pair that had a leopard print in the Percy design that I really liked. I took a picture of myself wearing the sample frames. And then ordered them online in the exact same style. The glasses I got are completely different. They are simple Brown frames without any leopard type spots on the frames. That was the whole reason I bought them. I called and told them my problem and they said that each pair is unique and they can't guarantee that it would be the same design. Well then why would I pay $400 for a pair of glasses that are just plain brown? I already have like four pairs like that. They said they would expedite a second pair to me to review and return the old pair.

The second pair was exactly the same. I am so disappointed. I again contacted them and they said the best they could do was either offer me a full refund or replace them again with a different design. All of the other designs are really boring and I like what I already have. One of the reasons I was attracted to the lenses that I chose is that there was like the leopard print on the frames. I just don't understand how they can send out samples and then you order based on that sample and they say they can't guarantee that it will look like that. That is false advertising. What a rip off.

Have been helping a disadvantage/homeless youth get back on his feet. One thing he really needed was a pair of good eyeglasses. With that in mind, I told him I would purchase a pair of glasses for him from Warby Parker, so we went to the Warby Parker store located at the Westfield Century City Mall in the Century City area of Los Angeles with prescription in-hand. After looking at many different pairs of glasses in-store, he found a pair he loved and the sales associate assisted us in placing the order. I paid for the glasses ($95) and was immediately charged for them. He left the store a very happy camper.

Unfortunately, his happiness (and my own) was short-lived. A couple of days after placing our order, he received an email from Warby stating that the frames he had chosen were out-of-stock. (Would have been great to have known this when we placed the order in-store.) It was disappointing to hear the shipment would be delayed, but no biggie as Warby said it would ship the glasses as soon as they were restocked. Another couple of days passed and he received another email from Warby stating the frames were no longer available and he would need to return to the store to choose another pair. Now our unhappiness with Warby was starting to grow.

He returned to the Century City Mall about a week later (the earliest he could return to the store) so that he could choose another pair. When he went to pay, they could find no record of our previous transaction. The customer service rep told him this was because I had never been charged for the initial transaction because Warby does not charge until glasses ship. This was a flat-out lie because I had already been charged for the previous pair of glasses we ordered in-store -- the pair that Warby could not deliver. So the kid was forced to pay out of his own pocket for the second pair of glasses he picked-out. He then informed me about the situation when I saw him later that same day. I immediately called Warby so that I could have my $95 refunded -- since Warby seemed to have no clue what it was doing. The money was promptly refunded. Why was I the one forced to track down the refund due to Warby's mistakes?

You would think we were done with Warby-created problems, but no. A few days after placing his order for the second pair of glasses, he received another email from Warby. Turns out Warby had, in fact, shipped the first pair of glasses even though we had been told by Warby those frames were no longer being offered and would not be shipped. After shipping, Warby then discovered they had refunded the money I had paid for the first pair of glasses. So now Warby would like for us to return the first pair of glasses they never should have shipped and they would for us to do so AS SOON AS WE RECEIVE THEM. The email from Warby asking us to return the first pair of glasses was not so much in the form and tone of an "ask" as a "tell," which was not appreciated by this customer given the problems we had already experienced with Warby. Once again, Warby has created an issue and they want us to clean-up their mess for them.

What was supposed to be a rewarding gift for a disadvantaged kid has now become a very frustrating and unhappy experience for both the kid and myself. We have learned our lesson and we will not be patronizing Warby in the future. As for the first pair of glasses that Warby would like returned AS SOON AS WE RECEIVE THEM; we shall return at our convenience, not Warby's. And when I do return them, I will probably return them to the Century City location in-person so I can tell the folks at Warby -- in front of other customers -- how disgusted I am with the entire experience.

If you are able to wait 10 days to receive your finished glasses, and willing to drive back to the store to have them adjusted to your face, then this company is for you. If this is not reasonable to you, do not fall for the five day expedited shipping promise, and just spend your money elsewhere. I picked out and ordered my glasses at their store in Baltimore, MD. on the 24th of February. One pair of everyday progressive lens glasses and one pair of progressive sunglasses for a grand total of $870.00. The salesperson said it would take 10 days. I told him I can't wait that long. He then says he can have the shipping expedited, and that I would receive them in 5 days. I agreed to go through with the sale.

I received my my everyday glasses on the 5th of March (exactly 10 days.) No sign of the sunglasses. I try them on and realize there was something wrong with the left lens. Called customer service, and was told the salesperson wrote down the wrong prescription for the left lens (both lenses had the same prescription.) I then tell her to please cancel the order and refund my money so that I can get a pair of glasses from another company that day. She informed me she couldn't refund the money until they received the returned glasses. Then she says (here it comes again), "We can expedite the shipping so you will have them in 5 days." I said "Can you promise that?" She said, "Yes I can. You will have the new pair in 5 days."

So now I'm thinking that's going to be faster than returning them and waiting for the refund, so I again agreed. Little did I know, I just agreed to be another Warby Parker fool again. So where are we at? 11 days one pair of useless glasses and one missing pair of sunglasses. Oh, and the sunglasses arrived on the 7th, (13 days.) It can't get worse right? Just keep reading... It's now March 11th, 5 days, no glasses. March 12th, nothing. March 13th, message from Warby Parker: "CONGRATULATIONS! Your order (my everyday glasses) have just shipped," and I should be receiving my corrected pair of glasses in 1 to 2 days. (Not a word about my sunglasses). So let's see, that's 9 more days. So day 19, I should be receiving my eyeglasses only. No sunglasses. You can probably figure out my mindset at this point. I'm ready to let someone know how frustrated I am.

I calm down and make the call. "Hello, where are my damn glasses?" "They're on their way sir." "What is taking so long?" "Your glasses must have had a difficult prescription to cut." Did the customer service rep know that my prescription was difficult? "No sir." She couldn't possibly have known that. (Of course I knew that.) Then how could she possibly promise my glasses would arrive in 5 days? (Silence) "Where are my sunglasses?" "It appears they are still in the lab waiting to be cut." (I'm calculating in my head when they would arrive if they cut them today.) "So you are telling me that I won't get my sunglasses until March 23rd? One month after the original order? That's unacceptable! You better make this right!" "There is nothing I can do sir." "I want to talk to your supervisor!" She says nothing, and puts me on hold.

5 minutes later she tells me her supervisor will take 150.00 off of my bill. "No, you have to do way better than that!" "That's all he can do sir." "Get him on the phone! He's going to better than that!" She again says nothing and puts me on hold. 5 minutes later she informs me that he agreed to take 250.00 off of my bill. "I thought you said 150.00 was all he could do?" "Well, once I explained to him that your sunglasses were still in the lab, he agreed to the 250.00 refund." "That is not good enough. GET HIM ON THE DAMN PHONE!"

10 minutes later he finally gets on the phone. "Sir, that's the best I can do." "Well that's not good enough. This is what we are gonna do, you are going to call the lab and have them cut my lenses TODAY! Then you're going to tell them to overnight my sunglasses so that I receive them tomorrow! And you can keep your damn 250.00 refund!" "Sorry sir but I'm not able to do that." "Sure you can, just do it. You'll score points with your manager, you'll spend about 50.00 on shipping instead of the 250.00 refund. You're saving the company 200.00. You might even get a certificate of achievement out of all this." "Sorry sir, I can't do that."

"THEN STOP LYING TO YOUR CUSTOMERS ABOUT THE 5 DAY EXPEDITED SHIPPING! CAN YOU DO THAT?" "Is there anything else I can do for you sir?" WHOOSH (That's the sound of my cell phone flying across my front yard). UPDATE: Literally 5 minutes ago, my sunglasses just arrived. It's 2:00 pm March 21st. 27 days from the original order. What have I learned? Warby Parker will say (not do) anything to keep a sale. Don't be a fool like me.

The lenses were moving around in the frame and can easily be pushed out of the frame while cleaning them. Definitely not the quality you would expect, but as companies get more positive reputation they start cutting back on product quality. This is my second order from WP and am very pleased with the experience overall. Their customer service is among the best I've dealt with for online companies. Their glasses are very durable and are more my style than what I can usually find elsewhere. The Home Try On makes me feel confident in ordering and they are very helpful when it comes to assisting in filing insurance claims. They are very communicative during the entire process. I've worn glasses for 20+ years and WP is my go-to now. Just make sure your prescription is valid, complete, and uploaded correctly. They will usually let you know if you forgot to upload it with your order and I've been contacted in a timely manner when an issue arises. They also have a return policy - I've never been able to return glasses to my local "chain" shop if I didn't like them - which makes me confident in choosing WP.

The only problem I had during this order was with the USPS taking an extra week to deliver. This, however, is NOT an issue with WP. Some of the other reviews are taking issue with what I feel is more of a USPS problem. Once it leaves WP's hands, it's all on USPS to get it there. I would gladly pay a little extra in shipping (which is normally FREE, a very nice perk) to get my order via a more reliable carrier. Hoping they add that option in future.

I went to Warby Parker's website to save money, and I did. I came away with satisfactory prescription eyeglasses in the end, but with some bumps in the road to get there. If you are going to order from WP, first figure out how you are going to get the frames adjusted -- you know, that bending of the side pieces that go back over your ears and of the nose pads that sit on the bridge of your nose so that the glasses stay put and don't hurt you. I sort of figured I would skip that step, or do it myself. Wrong! The glasses hurt like hell! Twice, I drove to a WP store -- the nearest one being pretty inconveniently far -- to get them adjusted. The adjustment wasn't good. Finally I went to a local storefront optician and she adjusted them for free, and then they stopped hurting me. She remarked, "They were way out of alignment. Did something happen to them?" I confessed I had tried to adjust them myself.

Now to the prescription. The good: I have a very challenging, expensive prescription. Cylinder of 8, which many labs cannot even do, along with being progressive, spherical correction of 4 at distance and plus 2.5 for the reading portion, and prism. They did it perfectly -- on the second pair. There had to be a second pair because after getting the first pair I went back to the eye doc and complained I still had double vision. There was no prism correction specified in her original prescription for me. She added some. WP made me a second pair for free (these glasses are $375 each from WP and more like $700 elsewhere)! Then I went to a different eye doc for a second opinion, bringing both pairs.

She found that the first pair had been made wrong: It actually had prism in one lens and it was prism going in the wrong direction, thereby making my double vision tendency worse. She said the second pair was made perfectly and she also agreed with the second prescription that added prism. The new glasses give me the best vision of any I have had in decades, thanks to the addition of prism (going in the right direction). So, to sum up -- Bad experience on the fitting. Bad experience on one out of two on the accuracy of the lens-making. Great experience on the price. Fabulous experience on them being willing to make a second pair for free when my prescription changed (and before I knew the first pair was made wrong).

Oddly, it was probably their error in making the first pair that motivated me to finally insist on a solution to my double-vision problem. The first pair made the problem worse, sending me to the internet to research double vision. I have had this problem for years, and complained of it to my eye docs, and they did not fix it. Armed with my new knowledge from internet research, I marched into the doctor and just flatly said: "Please check whether adding prism correction to my prescription would help me keep the images merged from the right and left eye." She was very surprised, but she did check, and she did find I needed prism. (She did not find the error in the first pair of WP glasses. That was the second doc that did.)

All's well that ends well. I don't feel great about having to exploit the generosity of other opticians to get the eyeglasses adjusted after they arrive, but the dollar savings for me is pretty irresistible. After you get them, do take the glasses to your eye doc to verify the lenses were ground correctly, and ask them to not just check the sphere and cylinder, but also whether there is any prism that should not be there. That advice applies equally to any other place you have glasses made.

Warby Parker offers a Home Try-On for free where you can select 5 frames to choose from and you can test it out for 5 days. I wanted to cancel my order 10 minutes after placing it and when I went to call WP the representative said they couldn't cancel it because they're not able to and they're "working as fast as they can to ship the product out to me ASAP." I talked to several more representatives after that and they all said the same thing. What is the point of doing all of that if I don't even want the product? IT'S A WASTE OF TIME.

WP should be allowed to cancel orders if the customer calls to cancel it at least 30 min after placing the order. I called 10 MINUTES after. I talked to a woman named Cicely and she emailed me the pre-paid return slip before I even got my package which was really helpful. Once I received my order I had my pre-paid return slip ready to go and the moment the mailman handed me the package I attached the return slip on the box and handed it right back to him. I would have given this company one star but because of Cicely I'm giving it three because she was very helpful and reassuring than the other representatives I spoke with.

I registered to try 5 frames free. They all arrived within the week I requested. Picked a frame, mailed them back, sent in prescription - I now have a pair of awesome, wonderful, quality glasses. They are everything I hoped for and more. The company was responsive and prompt. Doesn't get better than that.
