    I called ViaCord and they were able to quickly set me up. The gentleman was super nice and he walked me through the steps, how it would be, and what I need to do. I liked how informative and how willing they were to answer any questions that I had. Also, initially, I forgot to complete the purchase but it was very good for him to have it as a reminder to complete my purchase. Their website is pretty simple. But if I needed to add another child, I wish I could just do that online. But it doesn't have that capability.

    When it was time to to give birth, they mailed me a box and I took that to the hospital. I gave it to the doctors and they did everything else. Then somebody from ViaCord came and collected the cord blood from the hospital. It was a very smooth process. Also, they quickly remind you when it's time to pay because it's due on the day when your child is born. It is a little pricey and this service would be for somebody that has the means to pay for it. But I always tell any of my expecting friends that cord blood banking is something they should look into. I also tell them that ViaCord is super easy to work with and makes the process super smooth and not complicated.

    My experience with the cord blood specialist at ViaCord was very good. The rep was excellent and informative. However, I got a recorded message left on my phone saying that not all the forms were filled out and the reason why I didn't fill it out is I had a question. But I went back to the email and I was able to figure out what the answer was. So I filled out the form. I called them and left a message but I haven't received a message back.

    I figured ViaCord would be an extra precaution just in case our baby would need it. I asked how much I would have to pay on a yearly basis, what I had to pay initially, and if I needed it, how would I go about getting the tissue and the blood. Their rep answered all my questions. Also, they said something about if we had another child and if he had the same DNA, it could help for any future siblings. But now that I'm expecting, I'm getting another one from ViaCord so he would have his own. Do it.

    The rep was pleasant. I didn't have any questions except whether or not stem cell banking was helpful with autism, and I asked whether or not the blood versus the tissue was more helpful. The rep said that with that one, it's helpful to store both, so I went with that option, and she helped me sign up again. I banked my first baby's cord blood stem cells with ViaCord as well, so I went back to them this time. They showed up at the hospital and took the kit. The doctor puts everything where it needs to be. Overall, I had a good experience, and I would tell people that if they can afford to store their baby's cord blood, then they should.

    We did the banking with ViaCord with our first baby and we liked the service, so we decided to do it with our second baby. The pick-up time was a concern, though. Everything went well the first time, but this second time, I called multiple times to the line and number on the box and I got hung up on three times. I tried the fourth time and finally reached them. They said that they were gonna pick it up the next day at 9:00 AM. But in the box, it said perishable. I called back again and spoke to Laquisha. She got it for me to be picked up on the same night. Two hours later, someone was picking it up. She was good but everyone else was not. The customer service was poor and I had to call multiple times to get it done. It was the worst time to not be efficient.

    Banking my baby's cord blood cells is like an insurance thing. I'm an ICU nurse. It makes me feel better to have it. The reps at Viacord were great.     My experience with ViaCord went pretty smoothly. I didn't have any problems. After they collected all the samples, I called the 1800 number on the box and the rep asked me a series of questions to make sure that all the tubes and the containers were labeled correctly. She verified all of that and she told me that somebody would be there within four hours to pick it up and if it was okay if they could call me. I told her yes. The guy contacted me when he was en route and once he got there to pick it up, then he left. I haven't heard anything back from them. But the guy that spoke to me when I initially set up to do the cord blood told me that somebody would pick it up. Once it would come to their center, they would do whatever processing they do, and they would charge my account.

This is my third baby that we did cord blood banking. The others were also done. There was a family history of a genetic disease, and we wanted to make sure that if there was anything wrong with our babies, we did have this available to us in the future.     Everything with ViaCord has been smooth. It is expensive, but it's been a good experience. My package was lost the last time but it wasn't ViaCord's fault. It was the carrier that had lost it. ViaCord tried to make it right. They asked if we wanted genetic testing free of charge, and they tried to make it up. My package was found too late. It was a nightmare. So this time, we did it, and they received it right away, and everything has been fine.     The lady who was talking on the phone to set up a kit was very knowledgeable and kind. But ViaCord could have done better with the courier service. It happened in the middle of the night and we were concerned in case the cord wouldn't get refrigerated in time. But it all worked out. We delivered at 1:15 in the morning so we tried to call somebody to pick up the cord. The signals weren't that good. But the courier picked it up. We were thinking that they might be earlier than what we expected. But it got delivered so it should be okay. The customer service was easy and straightforward.     I attended a webinar and it was very informative. My doctor co-hosted it and it was very clear. ViaCord provided some options and they've been very responsive and the kit arrived quickly. So, the experience has been good so far. I would recommend them. They had explained or expressed during the webinar about their storage fees and how the pricing has come down, and a little bit of insight about the clinical trials. I would be pleased if that stays true and moving forward, that the storage fees don't go significantly up. I froze my eggs a few years ago and the storage fees have tripled since then, which I was not accounting for when I signed up. The question was asked beforehand and they stayed at that. So that's one thing that I would look for in the future. Banking my baby’s blood cord is an insurance and I'm a believer in that. I’d rather have it than not. It’s an investment and you don't have a chance to decide later.

    It would be fortunate to be a bit prepared of having this stem cell cord blood. It can be super helpful for your baby later on helping with diseases and even leukemia for later on in life if he does have to go down that path. We did our own research and fell in love with the option that ViaCord gives people nowadays of being able to do something like that that can help your baby. The fact that it helps with over 80 diseases or complications that the child may have and some cancers. That is what rung in our ears of this could save his life one day or just help him with other things that he might just be struggling with.

    We would spend the money now, but it could our baby's life later on or save us thousands down the road in medical bills. Let your OB know that this is something that you would like to do and bring your kit with you to the hospital when the baby says that it's time and they make the process super easy from there. They go ahead and send you the kit early on so you can be prepared whenever baby decides to come.

    The lady that I talked to in the office told me what to do with the package. They sent one that says ViaCord on it and it has all these directions. I was emailing back and forth with the office lady, sending all the paperwork to her and she broke it down for me as far as for my daughter, what the benefits of that would be. My daughter's doctor who is the leukemia doctor that she sees brought my attention to ViaCord. Before him, the social worker mentioned it to me. I’m about to have my son soon so they said I have a perfect chance of being able to save stuff to help my daughter through her treatment if we need to.

    My wife ordered online, and then she did a webinar. We actually won a Pack 'n Play as a result, which was pretty cool. Then the cord kit came and at week 35, day 6, my son was born. So we had it on our kitchen table for all of 24 hours. They followed the instructions on the ViaCord kit. The box comes with three pamphlets you can pull out of there. There's one for pre-collection, the informational one, and then there's information for the parents and medical professionals. We did 10 or 15 seconds of delayed cord clamping and then they started collecting after they clamped the cord. But it would have been nice if there were details on the medical provider portion of it, at the very least, on the viability of the samples. Overall, it was a positive, great experience and it's a great service that ViaCord provides.

    ViaCord sent a message through my OB-GYN that they were gonna have a presentation about it. I wanted to do it with my first child, but I never did. I saw the presentation. It was clear, detailed and very easy to understand. We finally decided to go for it with my second child.     ViaCord was thorough with what they offered us. We did it with Blue Shield. It was Saddleback Memorial for our first kid and they did an amazing job. They had great deals going on with it. They knew how to extract it. They were very familiar with the process. We did it with Kaiser with our third kid, and it was a crazy delivery. They've never done it before. They didn't know how to do it. The instructions are in there, but they messed up on the cord blood. They didn't get enough. That was a little frustrating. ViaCord could have some more tutorials on hospitals for how to extract it, the purpose behind it, etc. But both times, we had early deliveries and ViaCord got the packages out to us in a very timely manner. It's affordable and beneficial.

    We signed up and paid online, and then the kit was delivered. It was super easy. We put the kit with our hospital bag, so that it was ready to go as soon as we were ready to go. Viacord gave us a timeframe for when they were gonna come pick it up. The actual pick up was towards the end of that timeframe, which was totally fine. The courier had us take a picture of the box so that we could track it, which was great. The only thing was that we didn't understand how long the cord blood was good for after delivery. So we were a little more concerned about it than we probably should have been. But that was what the courier helped with once he got there. He explained it all. So we felt a lot better about it then.

    ViaCord's rep was very nice and they seem to be a good company. They are available to ask questions if I needed and I feel like I could reach out if I needed to. But after I jumped in with them, I did a little more research and the other companies said that they give a guarantee where if you try to use the cord blood for a certain treatment and that treatment falls through, the companies give you some money back. With ViaCord, that wasn't really touched upon and when I looked, it didn't seem that the company had that feature in the contract.

    The process with ViaCord was seamless. My representative was very responsible. She sent me a number of emails as we were making the decision, if we wanted to go with cord blood banking or not. Once we decided, we got the paperwork filled out easily online. The kit shipped very quickly after we ordered it and was brought to the hospital. The staff here had used that kit before, so they were familiar with it. I delivered late Wednesday, and ViaCord picked the kit up on Thursday.     We discussed a little bit of the process with our doctor, and we watched a video on it. It's been fairly vague. But the fact that I could use the cells later on for me, my family, or the child, that's the most important. However, English is not my wife's first language and we weren't offered anything in Spanish. I would think that at this point in the United States, especially if you want to sign contracts, she wouldn't have to hire an interpreter. If ViaCord wants my business, their representative should have gone over with her. She doesn't understand a lot of the medical terms in the United States. Has there been someone to help? Yes. Have they gotten back to us yet? It takes a day or so. But at the end of the day, it's not excellent service.

    With my other two girls, the process with ViaCord was so easy. The communication was great with the pickup. I got notifications that they received it and when it got banked. But with my last banking, we got nothing. I emailed then called about two weeks later asking if they ever got it. When I finally got the results in, they were less than a quarter of what my girls were pulled. I felt like it was because of the process. Maybe someone missed the timeline. I was pissed. I got a letter that said, "This is how low it is. We don't recommend you banking. It's not enough for a collection." I'm not gonna not bank it because, at least, if I have to pull for my son, I'll only have to pull a little bit for my girls. I won't have to pull everything. I kept it because I already had to do the whole transfer in the beginning. There was no reason not to bank it.

    I emailed the rep and I was telling her all my experience and how I wanted to leave. She gave me the process of leaving. I told her, "I also asked you guys to send me proof of all the information and I didn't get it." She said they emailed it to my old email address and I don't even know how they got my old email address. She re-emailed it to me. Now I'm pregnant and we're going with ViaCord again for the fourth one. We're praying that it's a smoother transaction this time. My son got a celiac testing included. It was a small promotion that ViaCord had. But with this baby, it's not at all. I wasn't even informed that the celiac testing is not there. I had to pay an additional money to add that on the package. I went from a $1,400 package to a $1,700 package within a blink of an eye.

    ViaCord's was a central location that had less chance of a natural disaster hitting it. You can't prevent fires, but it wasn't somewhere that had hurricanes, earthquakes or tornadoes or they were least common in that area. I filled out a questionnaire and I was able to get somebody on the phone. They walked me through the steps. I filled out everything when I was for my second, third and fourth pregnancy. I didn't wanna have them at different storage units. You set it up on your own. ViaCord would send you the kit. And it's managed through their web and app to make sure you're following up on your payment so you don't lose storage. The main thing for me was getting a good rate. And they offer discounts to multiple pregnancies you use their platform. And they were very quick to get me the kit.

    You would never know what's gonna happen. And that you may need this service at some point in your child's life. It's one of those things that you wish never happens. But it's there. It's like an insurance policy. And if you can afford to do it, it takes that kind of devastation if something were to occur out of the picture.     Our child is gonna be of mixed race. With the availability of blood donations, we wanted to make sure that if anything were to happen, our baby would have had something available instead of trying to find a donor and not being able to find a match. I had the most exposure to ViaCord and there was somebody on social media that used it. I'd been following her for a while and ViaCord was the company she used for her family. Even though I've never met this person, she did it for all three of her kids, so it was a trusted company to do mine with.

    Interestingly enough, ViaCord is not an insurance policy per se and in the hopes of having something just in case your baby is sick. It's more like it could save your baby's life or if your baby doesn't end up needing it, it could save another baby's life. If something happens, you could trust that your baby will be okay. The siblings can use it, but it's not 100% since it's obviously not the same blood as the baby that it came from.

    I initially watched an online webinar and I had a representative that I went through the paperwork with. I then got moved to somebody to finalize the paperwork and it's been smooth sailing ever since. Since I watched the webinar, they answered most of the questions that I had, as far as whether or not the nurses knew what to do and if there was anything I had to do.     We were told by our hospital here about cord banking and once we went to the orientation, we knew it was better with ViaCord. We didn't even look at any other cord banking companies. We liked what they gave in the orientation and we stuck with them. Our cord blood rep was very informative. The doctor in the Zoom call had a PowerPoint presentation.     ViaCord is not limited to cord blood only. They have the option of having blood and tissue storage. I also like the duration of their company in the market. I also like how they publish the research that they do with the stem cells. Their price was also comparable, if not better than the competitors. The rep of ViaCord was very knowledgeable. He listened to our questions and answered all the questions. So it was wonderful. The kit is very straightforward and simple. The bottom part is for the doctor and people collecting the tissues. The top one with the tabs is the instructions for me, for the people collecting it, and from the carrier. The only confusing part is that on our kit it said, “Fill out the documents under the orange tab,” and there's no orange tab. So I started digging and I called the rep to confirm.

    I am so disappointed with this company. It really brings me to tears. One of the most important decisions I made when it comes to the future health and well being of my baby boy and I chose wrong. Being the fact that I myself have a history of a blood type cancer it was pretty obvious that I would preserve my baby’s blood. The courier that arrived to pick up the product was wearing basketball shorts and flip flops and had no ID, he was very unprofessional. It surprised me that a company as big as Viacord would allow that to be there face. My husband delivered the package to him unfortunately, if it were me I would never have left it with the courier. My husband asked the guy if he knew how to seal the package and he said no I have no clue. The guy was pretty gangster and even the hospital staff were surprised. My husband told me about this after he left so the next day I called Viacord to pay my bill and share my experience.

    They were deeply concerned and said a manager would call me right away. After waiting 4 days I have gotten no such phone call. I was also told I would get a recipient 24 hours after the payment went through and that did not happen as well. Waited for the weekend to pass to see why I didn’t get a receipt nor a call from a manager, the rep said she notated on my account. When I asked her if they run blood type tests or anything that would indicate they actually got my blood she told they don’t do that and that I should rest assure knowing they have my blood (don’t understand how I can do that being the fact that they already made so many promises they did not follow through with). I will disputing their services unless I can get proof that they in fact hold my baby’s blood. Regardless I would stay away from this company. Seems like once they get you in they don’t care for maintaining a high level of customer service.

    My daughter subscribed to Viacord. GE Money Bank runs their billing/collect service for them. I signed as a co-signer for my daughter. I NEVER received a bill or anything stating that the account was past due. However, they reported this (my daughters' account), as again I am a Co-signer only and was NEVER billed, to the collection agency reflecting MY CREDIT!!!!! How can they report to the credit agency something they have NEVER even billed me for????

    Then when I called to get this cleared up... first, I was insulted and told by someone named **, that tells me NOTHING of what the bill is for (I did not know it was for Viacord!) nor whose name it's in. But instead, she actually says to me that it is my husband's acct. and he's primary holder on acct. that you do not know about!!!!!! Can you believe this?? Her name was/is **.

    After calling several times, I finally got someone who gave me the right info, but when I argued my point with her and asked to speak to a supervisor. She put me on Indefinite hold!! I called once again and before I could even explain anything, I was hung up on!! All the 'women' there were rude, had no knowledge nor clue as to WHAT was going on, nor did they barely speak or understand English as they ALL (and I am serious about the ALL) had accents. Once again, I called and a MAN answered who was actually polite, yet had no info to give me other than "No, we do not have the number for Viacord." I finally gave up and really got nowhere and never got the number for Viacord, so as to check the status of the cord viability and to see if I could take over the account IF the cord WAS viable!!??
