My OB told us about banking our baby's stem cells, and we watched the presentation of ViaCord, and it just made more sense. It really was like "better to be safer than sorry." Their price was good as well.

Our experience with ViaCord was seamless. I just signed up online and then the kit got sent. Our son was born last week. The process with collecting everything to send off to ViaCord was fine. They sent me some follow-ups, just a reminder to bring in and a reminder of how to do it. Then I had called, and someone at the hospital forgot to take blood. They were able to speak to the nurse and explain what needs to be done. Then I called back and a courier came within an hour. It was seamless.

ViaCord is a good service, just in case we need it. Everything ran smoothly.

So far, my experience with ViaCord has been good. I would just like it to be cheaper. The website was very clear about the prices and the services, and the customer service was great, too. I decided to use ViaCord because everything was very clear. They were very good at explaining everything. They responded to all my questions.

Talking to the person that sold ViaCord to us and walking through the information with my husband and I was great. Other than that, I don't have much more of an opinion until the baby's born and the rest of it is carried through. My understanding is we're going to bring the ViaCord kit into the room with us. The doctor is aware that we have it. We will call ViaCord as soon as the baby is born. They will be there within two hours, and collect our baby's cord blood. If it's everything it says it is, it's a small amount to pay for some mental security. We have our baby's cord blood if we need it, but hopefully, we don't.

We have a child with special needs, so we are hoping to use the cord blood to help one of or multiple of our children. My cousin used ViaCord and had a good experience, so that was the first one we looked into. I spoke with somebody from ViaCord and had a good experience, so we just went with it. I first heard about cord blood banking at my OB-GYN’s office. My OB-GYN suggested it, and I believed them. Viacord did a webinar on it. They explained that the blood and tissue would be there to help any match, whether it's a sibling or the child themselves. They could use that blood and that tissue to help with any sickness. I signed up and Viacord was pleasant as well as amazing to work with. When I went into early preterm labor, they quickly helped me decide on the kit that I was buying, then they overnighted me the kit so that if my baby came early, I would have the kit ready.

I've done some research online and ViaCord seemed like a good idea for both of my kids. I went with them and they've always been great. They were helpful when we had questions.

So far, our experience with ViaCord is fine. We just started. The cost was not grievous. Our son has Down syndrome, so we thought that maybe it would be useful in the future. ViaCord seems to know their stuff, not that I drilled them extensively.

The illnesses that can be covered by ViaCord are ever evolving, and you never really know what illness may potentially be covered in the future and whether or not it could be helpful. But we have known one child who had adenovirus, and they were able to use his own cord blood to help him walk again. So, that was very encouraging.

ViaCord had a Black Friday deal going on, and we took advantage of that. Signing up with them was fine. We just got the kit, filled out the paperwork, and then brought it to the hospital. We haven't used the kit as of yet, so we haven't completed the process with the company. So far, it's been a smooth and resourceful experience.
