Poorly run company, terrible service, and they make it a huge PIA to get out of your agreement and try and extort you for more fees. I told them before my renewal date that I DID NOT want to renew and they could dispose/discard my sample. My written email should have sufficed, as it does with any other business. They kept demanding I sign a form. The form was nothing special, it was simply a paragraph saying, "Do you want to donate it or do you want to discard it." Months go by where they email and call and I keep saying the same thing.... Discard it. Then they start threatening to send me to collections over $125, despite me saying before my renewal date I don't want to renew, I want it destroyed.

Overall, ViaCord is great. It’s excellent. This is the second time with me. Cord blood banking was something I read about and was also recommended by the OPG doctor.

My husband's in science and we believe that, in the future, there's probably a lot of opportunities, and both of our families have some history of cancer. So, if it's possible, it doesn’t hurt to have some options in the future. And at our OB's office, we got a form which had the ViaCord phone number on it, and our hospital worked with that company in the past. I haven't given birth yet. I'm still pregnant, so we haven't done any of it yet. We just got the kit sent to our home and we'll take it to the hospital. I knew a lot about it already, so the rep just said we'd get that kit sent home, explained the options and the price. Just things I had questions about. But I was aware of the whole process and everything. Since it hasn't happened yet, I don't know if we'll get enough stem cells, but so far, the process has been very smooth and nice.

I've worked in the health care field for 20 years and it's worth it to have stem cells banked in the case of emergency, whether it's my child or a family member that can use them. But the whole time that I was calling, they told me that I had 40 hours. I didn't know who was telling the truth. They didn't come in two hours so I'm hoping that the kit is okay. But overall, it's a very good thing to do. If you can do it, do it.

They gave us percentage rates and said that the banked blood could assist the siblings and the parents 100% and for the family, like grandparents, it’s 25%. It was a great experience and I hope ViaCord meet my expectations. People should consider them as an option because that would help out in the future.

My husband took care of the box at the hospital. It was kind of during COVID so it made us nervous and it was a little later than what we thought, but it was fine. So everything was pretty flawless and I didn’t have to put any energy into it. We had used ViaCord with my firstborn and we went back for my second daughter. I spoke with a gentleman, Todd, and he was very nice and super helpful with the decision of which package to get and the route we needed to go. They've always been very nice and I told my OBGYN that I felt that ViaCord would safely take care of my daughter's cord blood and stem cell. I have complete faith in them. I'm hoping we never have to use it, but if we should need it, it would be there for the babies. It would also be there for other family members throughout the years If it could help in any way.

I was on the What to Expect app and I kept seeing different cool advertisements. I’m not an ad person but ViaCord sounded interesting. It was probably the third company I looked into and I saw they were having a contest. So I applied for the contest and I wound up being one of the winners. The lady I spoke with was incredibly sweet and nice. We ended up having to play phone tag because of work for a bit but we were able to get ahold of each other. She was helpful and had great information.

It felt like ViaCord was a good idea based on their presentation. Our experience with the specialist went smooth as well. I had to make the call right from the delivery room and then they confirmed the contents of the box, and then they had me seal it up. I called to let them know that it was ready for pick up and they came the next morning to pick it up. I was satisfied. But it would be nice if it was cheaper, but I understand the process.

Everything was good in my experience with ViaCord. I had a lot of questions at the beginning, also my husband. We didn't know which package to pick and they helped me a lot. They called me as many times as was needed for me to clarify all my doubts and I felt like I was sure which package I wanted to pick. The process was made easy when I went to sign up. The box with the instructions was clearly labeled. At one point during the last couple of years, the card I had on file expired. They were good about following up to get another payment method. It was effective without being irritating. They handled that well in a way that wasn't at all an off-putting experience, and that could have been with some other companies because I had a couple of similar auto-pay situations where the card changed and the follow up was less pleasant. I just signed up for my second child who is expected to be born in June and the experience was positive both times though there was a pretty substantial increase to my first daughter and my second in terms of the pricing.

The ViaCord rep was very nice. I understand that they were trying to make a sale, but all the phone calls and emails got to be a little overwhelming. I felt a little harassed. But when I talked to her on the phone, she was quite nice. Every time I spoke with her, she was very friendly and professional. But I told her I was waiting on a tax return to come in before I could purchase it, or I was gonna talk to my husband about it, and it just ended up being a lot of phone calls and emails and I wanted her to leave me alone.

Everything with ViaCord is fine. I spoke with Elizabeth and she clarified all my questions. I'm gonna recommend ViaCord for friends and family.

ViaCord has done a perfectly fine job of staying in touch. We're having another baby in about a month, and we're gonna bank his blood and the tissue from the umbilical cord with them as well. Our rep has been very helpful when I called her and had questions. She let me know about discounts and when prices were scheduled to go up. However, they had stuff for me to fill out that they sent me, and some of the questions were a little confusing. They would ask about multiple things in the same question.
